Honestly he's a little surprised that he has an interest in someone that isn't cycling related, but if it doesn't interfere with his ambitions then it's fine in his mind.

So naturally she excels at illusion based spells, since yknow, hallucinogen, and also some poison themed offensive spells! yippee! and by 'excels' I mean that the illusion magic is literally Second nature to him and they can use it with very little effort or energy. This comes with some side effects though, one of them being that he has a tendency to do some fucked up magic form of sleep walking/talking where illusions of their dreams appear around him and are visible to. literally anyone in the same room as him. actually, it's how her parents originally found out about their illusion magic bs, by walking into their young childs room one night and being greeted by fucking Mini movies of their fucking dreams. The only reason I don't think giving her these powers and making them so easy for him to use is Ridiculously overpowered is that since they're just illusions, nothing he creates is actually tangible. Simply visual and auditory. So while he can use it to scare and confuse the fuck out of people actual summoning spells are as taxing on him as everyone else L

anywayssss later on when he's in his like mid 30's after basically just exploring and sightseeing the world for like 15 years she finds some sort of advertisement of parfaedia looking for an illusionist to hire as a teacher. and they're just kindof like I guess this is fate LOL and tries to get the position. assuming the staff member interviewing him was working at the school for more than 15 years I think they'd see this fuck and just go like. Holy fuck it's you again wtf. Why are you back who let you in this fucking building again and why are you trying to Work here. he's a bit slow, failing to realize your depressive episode for a few days. as it prolongs, he notices how you seem to talk down to yourself and give up easily

sometimes, you don't even start work at all

this is due to your anxiety, he assumes as you think you're incapable of finishing or doing the work satisfactorily enough.

pulling you into an embrace from behind as you work on the projects you've been stuck on for the past few weeks, he gently whispers into your shoulder

"darling, have you been alright recently? are you in need of assistance?" he asks

he presses a loving kiss on your neck and you stifle a chuckle

"it's that apparent, no? i've been under the weather for quite a while now.."

as you explain your reasons and all your troubles to his end, he nods and hums ever so often

It started with being friends, good friends. Shawn was...a bit of a mess, and you can't help but help him out in any way you can. People actually don't quite believe it when you're hanging out with each other and say you're close friends.

His dating life was one of his many little messes, and you were there to either fend for him or call him out for his idiocy; you weren't biased, always fair and just. Shawn likes that about you. You're a sweet person, but you never sugarcoat things.

He's always been hands-on; hugs and kisses were expected whenever you're in his reach, and you've grown accustomed to it, he did this to everyone, after all. You start to notice, though, that he starts to linger on them, heartbeats matching in each embrace, the heat of his lips leaving your body light and weak, and you hoped that he felt the same...

...Bad idea, you thought, fearing that you'd just be a name on his long list, that you'd lose him if you gave into it. So you remained stoic as you can be, you had to be the good friend, you had to, Shawn needs a friend, not another one on his bed.

Watching him work out way after you're finished is one of your favorite things, you'd comment on his shape or form or help him count (he always keeps going and doesn't stop), or just chat to keep him company as the gym became emptier, sometimes it was just the two of you.

That was the case that night, and you were a bit curious to see he was blowing steam. Really blowing steam. To the point you're scared he'd burst a vessel and told him to calm down, take a breath, before he breaks the chains on the punching bag. You asked him what's wrong, what made him so angry, and chuckled when he said he was pissed because some people were making sexual comments about you. You shrug it off, you've heard it, it's harsh but it's part of the business. You thank Shawn anyway and tell him not to worry, but that only got him angrier.

"I hate it when they said they'd do all those things to you, like an object, you're not, I don't even want to go that far with you because I'm scared I'll make a mistake and do the same like I do with everyone -"

So he did feel the same way, and, like water and fire, steam was created, like steam from him being so angry, like him blowing off steam now with you...

He was an even greater lover than you'd ever dream in your deepest, darkest fantasies. As he'd fear, he keeps himself clear-headed as he can, he's always aware of what he's doing, making sure every moment was cherished, remembered, Shawn constantly asked if it was okay, and all you could manage to say other than his name was yes. Yes.

He's extremely public with declaring himself dating you and being as affectionate as he can in public.

Neck kisses and having his hands on your thighs were particularly his favorites. He was never rough with it, he only goes rough when you say yes when he asks, after all, but it still makes your temperature rise to the roof whenever he slides over you and claims you with all these eyes witnessing it.

At first, you assume it was his way of marking territory since there were those comments made about you that got the both of you here in the first place.

But no, he's actually proud he's your boyfriend, and even without you he'd gush about how lovely and precious you are to other people - co-workers, friends, family, interviews...

You asked if it was a good idea for him to do promos mentioning you, would he lose fans? All those swooning over him...

"If they can't handle me hitting the jackpot with the best they'd never have, too bad for them," he commented, face buried in your chest as he snuggled close to you.

He always thinks so highly of you, and you had to remind him that this is an equal relationship, please, stop buying all these expensive gifts, it's his love and dedication and most of all, company you care about the most.

That always brings a goofy grin to his face. And somehow you both end up naked together somewhere soon after; how much stamina does he have? Will you be able to keep up?

The cutest and also, simultaneously, the most embarrassing thing you see him have and show off is a whole photo album of you and him that he always keeps with him while he travels. Not even counting the photos in his wallet, or the one in the multiple lockets he has...

If you're not there with him where he is, he'll call you immediately when he's free. "You don't know how much just your voice can do to me". Well, the same goes for him to you.

Whenever he's back, he'll immediately jump for you and pull you into the biggest hug, reminiscent of your time as just friends, but much sweeter, and you wish you could just stay there forever.

You yourself find kissing his hands, how strong yet careful they are, and running your hands through his hair some of the most intimate moments, even beyond the actual intimate moments. Shawn is comfortable and relaxed with you, and often would fall asleep in your lap minutes after you treat him so sweetly. It were moments like these that you appreciate how far the both of you had gotten.

The fact that he flusters and blushes when anyone mentions the both of you tying the knot has you feeling all kinds of ways. Maybe it's the fact that he never gets flustered any other times. Maybe it's the fact that his hand immediately goes to the chunky watch you gave him, that he adjusts to be to your time if he's travelling far. Maybe it's how he clutches his other wrist, one where you have your own bracelet, sparkling metallic chains, as if he misses it, misses you.

Or maybe, it's the prospect of him finally saying it, a ring in his hands. For now, though...this was enough. You both loved each other to death, and, maybe, again, it'll fade away, and someday you'll just be a ghost of a memory to him...

...But for now, this love was enough.

tenya definitely wants a family

i think he would have 4-6 kids, to keep it even have a big, strong family

he grew up with siblings and loves them to death, so it only fits that he would want the same thing for his kids

but he wouldn’t pressure his kids into being heroes or into doing anything related to hero work, because he can understand how intimidating and suffocating that expectation is 

it scares him to think that he could get killed by a villain and have to leave them behind, but he does his best every day so that he can come home to you and all the little iidas

C - Cuddle (Do they like to cuddle? How do they like to cuddle most?)

honestly? i’m not really sure that tenya would like cuddling that much at first, but i think he’d do it for his significant other and it would grow on him.

i don’t feel like he’d be very cuddly or overly affectionate physically, but would do it to comfort and care for you.

i do think that he likes to hold you and keep you safe in his arms, so i do think that if you were gonna cuddle, he’d hold you close to his chest and wrap his arms around you so that he can press kisses to ur forehead (awww <3)

don’t even kid yourself trying to be the big spoon, although he’s only 5′10″ i know that if you’re reading this you are NOT taller than him. don’t lie to me.

D - Date (Ideal date?)

tenya’s ideal date would be a quiet date away from others, maybe in a library for a study date.

oh my gosh and he’d carry your books while you keep walking around and looking at other ones 

E - Energetic (How energetic are they?)

he’s up early for work, but comes home tired. he tries to stay up to talk after dinner, but as the days get longer, his energy wavers more.

i think he’s use to being up for long periods of time, but if he can relax, i think he’ll take that chance to fall asleep on the couch next to you.

F - Fight (How are they in a fight?)

if you’re fighting, he’s wants it to be fixed. he’s not interested in dramatics, or spite, or pettiness.

if he did something wrong, you know he’ll apologize profusely and try his best to give you space, if you need it. if not, he’ll comfort you and reassure you that he didn’t mean it that way, or that he didn’t think before he said it.

if you did something wrong, an apology will help. though sometimes the words hurt more than he’d like to admit, he believes you when you tell him that you’re sorry, and he’s willing to move on from it.  

i don’t think there would ever be a real, blown up fight, because he’s not one to overreact. yes, there will be arguments on whether he’s being taken advantage of by the agency (he is) and he’ll assert that he doesn’t care, because it isn’t about him anyway.

G - Gifts (How do they feel about gifts? How do they give them?)

he doesn’t really see the reason for receiving gifts, because he isn’t materialistic in the slightest. he’d rather you give him your all and your love than a tangible gift, but he won’t refuse anything

he grew up with everything he needed, so he never developed emotional attachment to items, but he loves giving them to other people and seeing how his small generosity can cause so much happiness in others

he’s definitely a meaningful and thoughtful gift giver, and puts a lot of effort into it to make sure it’s perfect 

H - Honesty (How honest are they? Do they keep secrets?)

he’s incredibly honest, but will sometimes downplay his physical pain so that you don’t worry about him 

he’s not going to lie and say “it doesn’t hurt at all!” but i can definitely see him acting tough and saying “it was just a scratch” when he actually got stabbed or something HAHA

(i hate when people only characterize him in relation to his family and how he has a heightened sense of honor, because that’s only a part of who he is. he’s not honest or heroic just because of his family, he does it because it’s the right thing to do. by making honor his only personality trait, you’re kind of playing into a false stereotype, and i’m not gonna call you what i want to call you, just know that your bad writing in your simplification of the culture as a whole is genuinely annoying to me in that aspect)

he’s not the jealous type, because he isn’t insecure and trusts you too much to suspect anything like cheating

i think if you were trying to make him jealous, he’d ask why you were doing that when you knew he’d give you affection whenever you want. he’s just confused.

his favorite way to kiss you is away from others. pda isn’t his thing.

iida knows his strength, so he’s gentle.

he’ll lift your chin with his hand and press soft kisses to your lips and cheeks

it really isn’t about you but your distractions certainly aren’t helping his focus

i don’t think he’d full on yell at you, he’d just get pissy and ask you to “please let me get my work done”

it’s not really common, because he’s not usually behind on his work

i can’t see him do any of the goofy or overly affectionate ones like.. baby or something

quiet moments with tenya are comfortable.

the look on his face when you take the first bite of dinner together, and he was nervous to try the new recipe, but you were sure it’d be okay

how he always, always, waits for you to finish eating before he gets up to start cleaning up dinner

(he’ll compliment your cooking even if you think it turned out awful)

(even if it did, he doesn’t know how to use a potato peeler, so he can’t really say much in that department)

the quiet moments of intimacy where he hands you a jar of spices that comes next on the recipe

or where he tucks your hair behind your ear

R - Rainy Day (What are they like in the rain?)

he holds the umbrella with his left hand and your hand in his right

makes sure you don’t get wet, and tries not to let his glasses get wet

tenya would kiss you in the rain, but under the eave of a building or an overhang where he can do it the right way.

S - Sad (How do they handle their sadness? How do they react to yours?)

he handles his sadness by writing in a journal or he likes reading books from his younger days to make him feel better

he bottles his emotions, but not because he wants to, he just accidentally neglects his emotions because he’s too busy with other things

i think he would talk to you about it if you asked, but he wouldn’t bring up his emotions 

if it was you?

he would react very kindly to your sadness, and he would try to be as comforting as possible without forcing you to talk about it

but of course he’d listen if you wanted to, and offer his support and advice if you wanted it

he would drop everything for you, putting his pen down the moment he sees your eyes brimming with tears

and he’d pull you to his chest and whisper words of adoration and hold you until you feel better <3

T - Time (How long did it take for you to get together?)

maybe like three months to start dating while the two of you were at UA, just because he wanted to make sure you were interested in him before he came on too strong 

he would ask you to be his sparring partner just so that he could compliment you <3 

he’d let you win that day, but would NEVER admit that regardless of how long you’ve been together/married

he just says that you bested him that day, so he’s been the best for you ever since

he likes the predictability of music, and how really it’s just a pattern if you think about it, it’s just where to and where not to play

he values respect, integrity, and dedication. 

he cares that you respect him and everything he works for, but encourages you to let him know if you ever notice a hint of self-interest in his hero work

he doesn’t want to ever become a corrupt hero and lost his integrity

he values your honesty and your ability to make everything more fun

he finds fun in quiet, intimate moments, but he loves how you still find him in the loud, chaotic moments, and make sure he’s okay.

he also values the fact that you’re so understanding of how important hero work is to him, and how he has to put his life on the line.

you know that he has to stay at the agency or on patrol late sometimes, but you’d never ask him to stop, because you know he wouldn’t be able to live with himself if someone was left unprotected because he was home

at ua, he’s not really affectionate with hugs and kisses yet

he’ll show affection by patiently going over that stubborn math problem again and not getting upset when you ask him to repeat the formula again

or he’ll remember to ask you about the plotline in the book you’re reading or how your favorite show is going

and he’ll offer to buy your lunch or bring you a special snack from his secret supply in his room :)

as your relationship progresses, he’s more physically affectionate behind closed doors, but it’s not a common thing and he isn’t clingy about it 

when you’re married, he’s also affectionate in other ways, like he’ll do meal prep for you to make dinner easier for you to make, because he knows it’s hard to wait for him to get home and eat so late

or he’ll do that laundry you’ve been too busy to get to

he’ll go all out every once in a while, but he knows making life a little easier and a little sweeter sometimes sticks with you

he didn’t yearn for you for long at UA, because he just... realized he had a crush and then decided to pursue you, but i’m sure it was hard to get over the initial “oh, shoot” of realizing he has a crush when he’s at UA to become the best hero he can be

he feels his love for you more intensely than he’s ever felt love before, and he’s not exactly sure what to do with your name constantly plaguing his mind. 

i think he’d work a little harder in school and in training because he wants so badly to have a good, long life with you, and for everything to be perfect

he’ll get what he wants, because he works hard for it, and you’re willing to support his dreams

Z - Zen (What makes them calm?)

quiet evenings, quilts, candles, cooking together, soft music playing in the backgroud, looking at photos from your wedding, daydreaming about your future together, reading, and coming home to you after a long day.

Ok so I waited a while for this because I wanted to see who would send in individual numbers and since I've run out of those I'm gonna try to answer All Of Them lol

1. Who most initiates PDA?

Cubot, definitely. Orbot gets too embarrassed to initiate much of anything in public, and he always "scolds" Cubot whenever he decides to be a bit too affectionate in public.

2. Any sleep habits either had to get used to?

No, not really? They've basically been around each other their whole lives, I don't think there'd be much in the way of recharging they'd have to adjust to. However, this is a good subject for me to remind everyone that they've canonically slept together (in the literal sense, not the nasty sense) in Sonic Boom.

3. Jealousy issues?

Not often, and it's less jealousy and more just mild annoyance on Orbot's part just because Cubot gets so easily distracted. He knows that it's hard for Cubot to keep his focus on one thing, but sometimes he really wishes that he could, and that it was on him.

4. What's a Night Out for them?

It can be hard for them to get out of the base when it's not on Official Eggman Business™, so a lot of times their night out becomes a night in. Still, on a rare occasion, they do get out on their own with a little bit of freedom. This could be mostly projecting but I feel like to avoid getting overwhelmed (or being spotted by those who would be unkind to Eggman robots like them) a lot of the time they'll try to go somewhere away from people and buildings for a change. Maybe go out at night and do stargazing and stuff. Cubot would also have a ton of fun trying to catch fireflies. again might just be projecting my love of nighttime, but it's still cute to think about. (I also have various hcs for things they can and can't do physically, for example drinking. I have an AU where Fred the Egg Pawn actually owns a little robo-bar and grill, and they like to go there sometimes when they're up for something more social.)

5. What’s an evening in for them?

I like to think they enjoy themselves a lot when they're able to get away from the Doctor. They're simple robots, a TV date with some snuggles is fine by them, but sometimes one of them will decide to try and whip up something a bit fancier for the other, just for fun. Turn a spare room into a makeshift ballroom and dress up, pretend to be at a fancy restaurant even though they can't eat, things like that. It doesn't always go as planned, but that's part of what makes it fun. And then other times they just say screw it and decide to spend the night being silly like the ridiculous robos they are. :)

6. Double Date? Thoughts? Who?

Ok so I hate when questions are phrased like this bc I can hardly understand them and also I personally never could understand the concept/point of double dates? But if they were to go on a double date I'd imagine it being with another robot couple, first ones that come to mind are Bocoe and Decoe from Sonic X because I ship and adore them as well. Or they were like forced to go on a double date with Eggman and whoever his partner was at the time, like Bowser or sumn idk--

7. Do they want (have) kids?

I don't think they ever really thought about having kids, since they can't have them biologically as robots and no way in hell Eggman would let them adopt, so it never really came to mind. I do have an AU where they did accidentally get a kid, and since they got him they do their absolute best to be good parents bc Axle means the world to them. But before Axle they didn't really give the idea of children much thought.

8. Have an AU thought?

Oh honey so many. I still have the list of shapebot AUs if you want to ask about any more of those, but the one on my mind lately is one I started calling it "Cwispy AU" as a joke bc I've always jokingly referred to 06 Silver's Crisis City with the lava and such as the Ultra Cwispy Timeline. Basically that AU is "Orbot and Cubot are on their own with just the cellar of a completely destroyed base for shelter and are trying to survive in this post-apocalyptic hellscape". I'm working on an animatic for it right now.

9. If they got engaged… who proposed?

This one I'm honestly not sure? I could see it happening both ways, equally awkwardly. I don't think robots can actually get married in the Sonic world, but the bots would definitely hold some sort of ceremony..even if it ended up being like in the back of a supply closet (I saw some art of something like that with them a long time ago, it was kinda funny and cute) or something. I can say that I imagine their wedding rings would be like hex nuts with stones put into them of each other's colors. Rose gold hex nut ring with yellow stone, gold hex nut ring with red stone. Because I think it'd be cute, and these bots don't have access to diamonds (also imo diamonds are kind of a boring stone for their price, id much rather have a sapphire or even moissanite or something for my ring lol). And it wouldn't surprise me if they wore them under their gloves so they didn't get lost or taken.

10. How do they deal with the other’s family?

Well, since they're both built by Eggman and both still owned by him, they kind of just do their best to appease him and run off whenever they get the chance. It's not ideal but what can you do. Also with Metal Sonic, Orbot does his best to try and appeal to him and stay on his good side (see "big bro" - and I could talk about my opinions on how Orbot acted in RotW but that'd be getting off track) while Cubot tries to stay out of his way whenever he's not following Orbot's lead.

Like they were on a date n then some rivals drive up. he really didn't expect that shit would hit the fan like that. it was supposed to be simple. he was just picking up a weapons drop at the docks with some of his crew. you weren't even supposed to be there but he made the grave mistake of letting you tag along for once, he usually never let you go anywhere near his shady deals because of his concern for your safety. but oh well, you're here now. and so is the police. not an ideal situation at all

his top priority is protecting you. he's gonna fucking shield you with his body if he must, but he won't let you get hurt. nobody was ready for the police forces to round up on y'all and now he has to improvise to get you out of there but that's easier said than done. until you just fucking snap and before he even comprehends that you escaped from behind him, there are cars flying and flames blazing

he's taken aback. anyone would be. it's not every day you see your "Certified Small Bean" partner just up and yeet a car at the police. the second the opportunity arises, he takes you the hell away from the whole scene, but he has some questions. he will, of course, try to somehow comfort you, but why did you keep that hidden from him? were you ashamed? is there anything else you're hiding? he doesn't have anything against your powers, but he's starting to wonder if you've been really truthful with him. he really values honesty, and you know he wouldn't ever disrespect or hate you for who you are. look at him, he's literally taking drugs to make him as strong as you naturally are, he's in no place to talk shit. you're still the apple of his eye, but now he just doesn't see you as all that helpless and in need of protection

Croc hcs:

Waylon doesn't usually get involved in shoot-outs. he keeps to the sidelines, lives in the sewer, doesn't really have a crew. he's just sometimes "employed" by other rogues, and he's cool with that. this time, he was supposed to supervise Penguin's weapons deal in Otisburg, but someone snitched and there was another gang trying to take over the deal. jobs for Penguin were always smooth and went according to plan, and his payment for the job was a free dinner at the Lounge, so he just took you with him and intended to take you out for a nice date for once. and this one time you're there, shit goes down and guns start blazing

his mind goes blank and it's like he jumps to you on instinct. he doesn't care about the deal, he doesn't care about anything, his only thought is to keep you safe. he feels like a fucking idiot for taking you there, he should've known. he should've known shit will hit the fan the second he thinks things are going good for him. he's starting to panic, because if it was just a shoot-out, he'd probably be fine, but you're there and you can die and it's gonna be his fault. and then this whole thing turns into you saving his sorry ass

he has a momentary mind-fuck. was that a car you just flipped at the attackers? for a moment, he can't even comprehend what's going on and then suddenly, you're crying and apologizing and he doesn't understand shit. like, why didn't you tell him? that's kind of a big thing, y'know? worst part is, his brain twists the whole thing into thinking you didn't trust him nearly as much as he trusted you and that maybe you didn't think he was good enough. why wouldn't you tell him if that wasn't the case? why would he, out of all people, call you a freak? you've seen him? he fucking knows how it is. do you really think so lowly of him? it's gonna take some serious explaining to get rid of his new-found insecurities, but the damage is done
