Chuuya giving u his choker is making me think so many thots like???
He's adamant that you're HIS subordinate and gets annoyed when other executives or Mori try giving you orders.
Getting injured on a job with Chuuya and he's on your attacker in seconds like "HOW DARE YOU TARGET MY SUBORDINATE!!!"
His interactions with you are loaded with romantic undertones that leave you trying to hide how flustered you are.
AND HE WOULD DO IT ON PURPOSE TO SEE YOUR FACE TURN RED I K N O W IT!!!!
whether you're a couple or friends i do feel like Chuuya would be pretty possessive of you. nobody else can tell you what to do or threaten you without having to deal with him first. you're his favourite and that fact isn't lost on anyone else. if anyone even gives you an odd look he's already squaring up, let alone someone trying to hurt you? whoo boy. you basically end up having to protect your own assailant from him.
Chuuya would pretend to be so oblivious whenever you get shy as well, like maybe he sees you're flushed, so he presses his hand against your forehead and asks if you're sick and need him to take care of you, all with a cheeky smirk on his face. this guy i swear to god-
i was originally actually gonna write a scene where you speak to Mori for the first time and Chuuya is there for moral support, but he basically ends up speaking for you because you get nervous lol. eventually Mori is like 'what's happening between you two?' and you both immediately go 'NOTHING' way too fast because lets face it: Chuuya crushes on you just as much as you crush on him. i didn't end up doing it though because idk how to write Mori T-T
possessive!chuuya. that's all.

I think it's hilarious that someone in a Pokémon discord got pissed and blocked me because I said that Skeledirge has Día De Los Muertos references on it because "Paldea is in Spain, not Mexico".

its similar with the irish language too wrt religion being baked in; like the way to say hello is 'dia duit' (god to you) & the response is 'dia is muire duit' (god & mary to you) (and also you can keep going & adding saints if it's a multiperson convo; like dia is muire is pádraig duit etc) also one million billion other super 'religious' phrasings that are just the language.
theres discourse abt this too with (typically younger ppl not raised in irish speaking areas) just gaelicizing "hi" -> "haigh" instead of dia duit, but the consensus ive heard from the native irish speakers ive talked w is thats just more colonial anglicization of the language bc dia duit is just Thee Greeting. not that this is super important or anything btw and no need to respond just interesting perhaps :-)
nooo this is super important omg thank u for sharing. these are great examples ❤️‍🩹

[Recommended Watch] The Apothecary Diaries
Tumblr media
Source: Crunchyroll/Toho Animation Studio x OLM, The Apothecary Diaries
By: Katherine Cañeba | @kcserinlee
We are well into the winter anime season, and a certain show called The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) should be on your watchlist if it isn’t already. I saw the poster for it on my Crunchyroll homepage back in January, and I recalled seeing the trailer being unveiled at Anime Expo 2023. It left a lasting impression on me with its gorgeous animation, historical setting in Imperial China, and the concept of exploring herbal medicines and poisons from that time period. However, since the trailer release, I had seen and heard virtually nothing about it. I admit that I can be quite the contrary to the popular trends, so I was driven to see what was becoming of The Apothecary Diaries, despite Frieren and Solo Leveling dominating the anime discourse these days. So, I clicked on the advertisement and started watching. The rest is history. Now, I come to you today to spread the word about this show so you, too, can enjoy this gem hidden in plain sight (and help ensure a Season 2 gets made!).
The story is set in a fictional universe inspired by Ming Dynasty-era China (1368-1644 in the real world), and all the beauty and ugliness of life in that society. 17-year-old Maomao simply wants to live a quiet life with her apothecary father and her “big sisters” (high-level courtesans) in the nearby brothel. However, Maomao is unfortunately (and/or fortunately) kidnapped and sold into the Rear Palace, the garden of the Emperor’s concubines. She starts at the bottom as a servant girl and soon reveals her knowledge of medicines and poisons to save the Emperor’s newborn heirs from a mysterious illness.
From then on, she is swept up in solving the medical mysteries befalling those who live and work in the Imperial Court, while working her new day job as a poison taster for a high-ranking concubine. All this while rejecting and evading the increasing infatuation and sometimes creepy, sometimes endearingly, childish advances of Jinshi, the Rear Palace manager who is also the most beautiful eunuch around.
Fans of medical dramas, detective/mystery dramas, historical dramas, and comedic innuendos will find lots to love about this show. It has a well written development and a lot of really interesting, accurate tidbits. There is even a “Pharmacist Reacts” YouTube series on The Apothecary Diaries by DefinitivelyZach that is particularly educational and just as entertaining! The animation quality, voice acting, and soundtrack are all top-notch too.
Maomao may be smart enough to solve every puzzle thus far, but she is too well-characterized to be a Mary Sue. Lest you be wary of a toxic reverse-harem situation here, with Maomao potentially collecting suitors left and right and treating them all like dirt, the romance aspect is not the immediate main focus of the story (although there is clearly a slow-burn romance between Maomao and Jinshi that has grown on me the more Jinshi matures).
On par with recent trends for female characters in anime, we see a highly intelligent woman like Maomao earn the respect of everyone she meets through her tact and problem-solving skills, despite her commoner status. She also remains hilariously aloof to Jinshi’s advances when he puts on insincere, seductive airs.
As a girl who grew up on the doorstep of a brothel, Maomao has seen many women be lied to and downright betrayed by men. If Jinshi can be more consistently honest with his feelings around Maomao, and grow out of his childishness, he might just stand a chance with her!
Once I got used to Jinshi being cringe-worthy levels of creepy and accepted his weirdness as innocent immaturity (because at least he never has harmful intentions, despite his questionable methods of flirting), I quickly fell in love with The Apothecary Diaries and I’m confident that you will, too!
Season 1 Second Cour of The Apothecary Diaries is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. Cours 1 and 2 are 12 episodes each for a total of 24 episodes in Season 1.

PLEASE GO INTO DETAILS ABOUT YOUR BDUBS ANALYSIS FOREVER
restricting myself solely to bwbs3 for the moment because i am going to finish DIA tonight so that'll have to be a separate. thing. about narrative
i'm not interested in it for theory's sake, but because I think a lot of content around minecraft does not scratch the itch I want - sure you can teach me how to copy a build block by block, or even explain a process for massing a roof, but these still aren't enough. what I truly, truly want is many people having a conversation that would include things like...
how do i move around in the game? where do I spend my time? what are the implications of that?
how do i build the infrastructure necessary to support the continued playstyle i prefer without devolving into base chores and in fact encouraging the development of goals and completion of them in a game with no prescribed finish?
how do I interpret meaning from the world I build around me? how do distance, color, texture, scale, size, lighting, shape, time spent navigating, terrain, machines, mechanics, movement, etc. and their interrelationships impact the meaning I derive?
these are mere starting points; concretely, a conversation could look like moving from "what's the best most efficient farm objectively i can build?" to "how do I choose or construct a farm that matches its output and ease of access to my current needs and goals?" farm throttling is a huge concern in my imaginary discourse, since it's highly variable even across a single player's single world. (this may shock you to learn this is something I appreciate greatly about etho.)
bdubs is making really, really big arguments about what visual representation can signify not in isolation but in concert across many dimensions: he loves his fog and render distance settings because of what they do to an environment, and his builds interact with those distance limits; he is constantly pushing himself further beyond simple gradients into texturing into doing ambient occlusion on flat walls to suggest crossbeams and now expanding scale to increase possibilities for meaningful coherent block palettes. it's got his usual wrapping of bluster and pride but he's a lot more mellow and didactic in bwbs3! like, he is arguing for this approach in terms you would expect with historical art movements, about how to communicate meaningfully through art. he is doing pointillism!
today he talked about building in all those terms and more, and then also in the fourth dimension of time; this is the first thing I built and it is a time capsule of my skill and style at that point in time, and I am going to build this today as a capstone to my current skills and style, a proof of concept and a temple and a focal point and a new scale marker (since the mountain he built is now tiny in comparison lmao). he is playing minecraft in 4D! this is a really neat and meaty line of thinking - if you're playing a world, what could you build to be a snapshot of where you are now?
that turns the world, built-up, into a historical register. it's not that groundbreaking to do in retrospect, but combined with the foresight and level of intent and skill and on top of that articulating that to the audience makes building with bdubs season 3 really special to me. it's a cross between a seminar and a let's play; it's not building with like s1/s2 senses of just recording himself while building and talking in detail, it's building with in the sense of instruction and encouraging you to go try it out. it's his pitch for his theory of building! from what I can tell, it's pretty unique for that.
honestly the derrida and perec and everything is relevant and ripe but my first turn to theory with bdubs was bernard tschumi's advertisements for architecture, because some of them work so well with his life series builds (another post, another time). however, check this shit out!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
advertisements for architecture frequently also engages with murder and the erotic as components of architecture - "Murder in the Street differs from Murder in the Cathedral in the same way as love in the street differs from the Street of Love. Radically." the erotic is less relevant, but the call to baser human desires is a fun touchpoint when considering the meaninglessness of death and especially in the context of MCYT the use of architecture even more explicitly than irl as prompts for interesting, novel, unpredictable interactions. at the same time, many built things in MC are mere facades (grian hcs7 megabase...... not to be rude but jesus).
and so the novelty and love for a guy who cares about and executes well a manifesto on unifying aesthetics and function in a dynamic four-dimensional framework. with that basis, you could start engaging piaget on play, baudrillard on simulation and simulacra, derrida on bricolage, perec on space, any number of theater-centered theorists from any number of lenses (marxist critique of the gradient trend when?) and so on endlessly. but I'm always overjoyed and intrigued by bdubs' arguments. he's so breezy about it, too, like he's driven toward something he's figuring out for himself and trying to share as he learns. nothin else like it

Bon dia! 🙂 14, 45 and 83 for the ask game?
Hola, hola! Thank you very much for the questions, hehe <3
14. what's your worst writing habit
I don't know if it refers to the process or something that I do in my prose that could be considered a habit... For the latter, I would say that I tend to make sentences too long and redundant. I could probably edit a bit and trim here and there, but it's also part of my style—which makes my writings difficult to read, or "more demanding"—. And for the former... Maybe that I tend to overthink too much? Even if I plan, I always end up second-guessing my planning...
45. any writing advice you want to share?
Do not listen to the readers! Especially if you write online and are not paid. Sometimes we tend to get stuck into the (often unsolicited) opinions we receive in our writings about how it should have been written. I'm not talking about fair criticism, like pointing out bad habits and such, but like "Oh, I would have made character A do this thing instead of...". And while this can be very useful when received during an editing process, once it's set and done, or once it's YOUR story you want to tell, I don't see how we should change in regards to who's reading us.
I wanted to do a little essay about this, but I think there are certain fandoms where writers were influenced by the discourse online. Like Sherlock, or High School Musical (The Series), and the character development ended up having zero sense, often invalidating the psychological progress the character had done until then.
So: write your story, however you want to write it. Someone will fall in love with it. Do not let anyone tell you how you should have written the story that's yours. Everyone can pick up a piece of paper and pen.
83. less is more or more is more?
in the writing process, more is more. in the editing process, less is more. and in the marketing phase, to my view, also less is more.

It kind of bothers us to see people treat those who insist OSDID is a trauma disorder as "terfs" or to see those who insist it is not as naysayers because, and we mean this as honestly and as kindly as possible, no one fucking cares about this sort of discourse in real life.
I don't mean that medically or professionally people don't care, but rather that a diagnosis exists so that someone can receive the help and resources they need, and the only reason they would need those is if they were struggling. Many self-proclaimed endogenic systems insist they do not have trauma, therefore have no need for a diagnosis or resources given to those with severe trauma.
As a community, we know science, especially mental science, has ethics it is required to follow, which is why to test exactly how, why, and what is needed to form a dissociative disorder is unethical. That being said, there are plenty of RAMCOA/programmed systems who will sit and tell you and while there aren't papers posted on it, it is widely known, especially in Christian nationalist and human trafficking organizations, how to induce OSDID and various (mostly cluster B) personality disorders.
Hell, even someone who has never done the research but wants to start a cult can just make a system (in our experience)
Now, if we are to look at OSDID as a complex disorder stemming from PTSD (post traumatic Stress disorder), then the idea that being "mixed origin" due to experiencing stress makes no sense. Stress is inherently traumatic, though in varying amounts for different people. Autistics tend to have lower stress thresholds.
Also, many people devalue their trauma. They act like because it wasn't dramatic or fancy enough, that because it wasn't a cult or witnessing a body, it isn't "enough." This couldn't be further from the truth.
A list of things that could cause any number of traumagenic disorders:
Spanking
Employing the false parenting method of leaving a child to cry in their crib so that they will "learn." (they are incapable of such, as they are a child)
Forcing a child to spend long, unwilling periods of time by themselves
Forcing a child to sit in silence puncuated by meditative or "worship" procedures as a punishment (the Mormon church does this often)
Having an inconsistent and often negative view on a child's consistent actions (being kind one day and miserable the next etc etc)
Repeated bullying
Emotional and/or physical abuse from a person in power of the child (parents, teachers, lawmakers, other students)
Gaslighting
Enforcing body dysmorphia
A child growing up in a home where the parents hate each other and do not try to hide it or do anything about it
Religious abuse/harassment (things along the line of "if you don't follow our very vague and impossible idea of perfection, you will burn or suffer forever")
Medical neglect
Emotional neglect
Physical neglect
Sexual harrassment
Sexual assault
Rape/CSA/CSEM
Torture
Witnessing death
Cannibalism
Being forced to engage in and/or cover up a murder
Literally anything cults do
There is no precedent for how severe the trauma has to be as long as it is trauma and repeated. You will notice how a good portion of these are usually started in infancy, before memories may even form. This is often why many systems don't remember or cannot access those memories. No matter what type of amnesia, if the brain was never able to remember its trauma from the metaphorical get-go, it is unlikely it would gain the ability to do so.
If you experience plurality or dissociation, speaking to an informed trauma specialist, or even a close friend who may deal with the same thing and is educated about what is going on may help. Personally, I don't care if someone identifies as endogenic or multigenic or whatever label people come up with to excuse their trauma. One of the symptoms of this disorder is denial. I don't even encourage trying to find out the specifics of one's trauma without a strong support system. I do think self-diagnosis is a valuable tool, but like any form of diagnosis, it is designed to figure out what the problem is, so that it can be easier to manage. I also think it's unfair to call those who believe the current research on the disorder "TERFs" or "sysmeds," as being trans has no link to childhood trauma or any significant research to back up what "causes" it.
For context, the gender dysphoria argument was created sometime in the early stages of trans medicine so that doctors could determine which patients would do anything for SRS/HRT, so that they could make their prices unreasonable.
