Wait okay the post I just made about what if Adrien sprained his ankle during Desperada was a joke post, but now I have questions. Why did Gabriel's cataclysm injury persist through all of his second chances, but Adrien didn't need to sleep or eat through all of his?

I'll just explain that away as "since it's a cataclysm, ie something caused by another miraculous, it overrides the snake miraculous power." That's a good enough explanation for me.

It honestly makes me question if Astruc really likes Adrien as much he claims to. Like yes, they have Adrien face no consequences for his actions, but now I' m wondering if it's less of a case of "He think he's perfect" and more a case of "He's jealous of Adrien and is trying to make everyone hate him"

I'd have to (politely) disagree on this, anon. Because if it really was the case that the showrunners wanted you to hate Adrien, then they've completely failed in that regard, as the majority of the fandom likes him. (It's why I decided to run this type of blog on Tumblr, since I feel like I'd get crucified on any other site for speaking negatively about Adrien)

I also feel like there's canon evidence that disproves this take. For example, let's look at the episode Felix, where we are introduced to the titular character. The episode goes on and on showing Felix to be spiteful and mean, as he deletes the videos the kids sent to Adrien, puts camembert under Adrien's pillow, and as a rotten cherry on top, attempts to force a kiss onto Ladybug. In this same episode, Adrien is shown to be nicer and better in comparison like oh look how he doesn't get mad at his dad for what he's put thru (this is an awful msg but I don't want to derail my point to talk abt it), how understanding he is that hes okay with Gabriel moving on to Nathalie, and how LB says that Adrien wouldn't try to forcefully kiss her (ha. 💀). This entire episode exists to prop up Adrien, using Felix as a strawman to highlight Adrien's goodness.

Maybe you could say that guy isn't that obsessed with Adrien, but I really can't see him hating Adrien at all.

Marcy Wu With The Snake Miraculous

Ok. Here I’ll be going over my thoughts on why I think Marcy Wu from the Amphibia TV series would make a fitting and worthy wielder of the Snake Miraculous. For those of you that don’t know, Miraculouses are magical jewels from the Miraculous Tales Of Ladybug And Chat Noir TV series which give the wearer different powers and they’re also connected to beings that represent abstract concepts called Kwamis. In the case of the Snake Miraculous, it gives the wearer the power to reverse time by 5 minutes and it’s connected to a Kwami named Sass who represents the abstract concept of intuition. Also, Spoiler Alert for the Amphibia TV series, Marcy’s Journal and the Miraculous Tales Of Ladybug And Chat Noir TV series. With that out of the way, let’s dive right in.

First, I’m gonna go over why I think Marcy would make a fitting and worthy wielder of the Snake Miraculous. As shown in the episode ‘Marcy At The Gates’, Marcy is very smart and, during a fight she, Anne Boonchuy and the Plantar family were having against Barbari-Ants, Marcy was able to collect ingredients she collected from the environment around her during the fight and use them to make an explosive concoction which helped them escape. And as shown in the episode ‘Desperada’, the Snake Miraculous can be used to give the wielder a do-over thus allowing them to make sure the wielder or the people around them don’t make the same fatal mistakes but that ability has to be used carefully since quite a few small but fatal mistakes can be made during a heated battle. I think Marcy would be able to use that ability very effectively since, like I mentioned earlier, she was able to use the environment around her to help during a fight and that level of ingenuity and attention to her surroundings would allow her to take full advantage of the do-over the Snake Miraculous would give her during a fight.

Next, I’m gonna go over what Marcy would look like in a Snake Miraculous outfit. As stated and shown in the episode ‘Kuro Neko’, a Miraculous outfit looks different depending on the wielder. I think that Marcy’s Snake Miraculous outfit would look like a snake-themed version of her Chief Ranger uniform. As shown in the episode ‘Marcy At The Gates’, Marcy seemed to like that uniform. And I think that’s partly because, as shown in Entry 12 of Marcy’s Journal, receiving that uniform was part of her promotion to Chief Ranger and it’s also when Marcy wrote that she was in the big leagues. And that level of fondness might cause a version of that same uniform to appear as her Snake Miraculous uniform. Also, I think that a picture of a snake would be printed on the armor plating and pictures of snake scales would be printed on the hood and cape of Snake Miraculous’s version of Marcy’s Chief Ranger uniform. And I think that for her Snake Miraculous outfit, Marcy will keep all the parts of her Chief Ranger uniform that symbolize the Night Guard. After all, as shown in Entries 13-48 of Marcy’s Journal, during her time as Chief Ranger of the Night Guard, Marcy met and went on quite the daring adventures with 3 cadets named Javi, Kettle and Femur. And I think her feelings of nostalgia from that would allow Marcy to keep all the Night Guard aspects of her Chief Ranger uniform for her Snake Miraculous outfit. And since, as shown in the episode ‘Syren’, potions can be made to modify Miraculous outfits and enable them to allow the wielder to travel in different environments that they wouldn’t be able to otherwise like underwater for example, Marcy might try to replicate those potions and see if she can make versions of them that can modify the Miraculous outfit’s alloy. After all, as shown in the episode ‘Marcy At The Gates’, Marcy is pretty skilled when it comes to making potions and she also did make plans to use an alloy for her cape that’s less flammable.

Now, I’ll be going over how Marcy might interact with Sass, the Kwami connected to the Snake Miraculous. As shown in the episode ‘Marcy At The Gates’, Marcy is very excitable and enthusiastic. I think @jetzflare25 put it best when he said that Marcy is a nerdy Mabel in his Me Before Watching Marcy At The Gates/Me Now post (as I like to call it; that post wasn’t exactly given a title). For those of you that don’t know, Mabel Pines is a character from a TV series called Gravity Falls who is very energetic. And as shown in the episode ‘Sandboy’, Sass is pretty calm and well-mannered. So, in terms of personality, Marcy and Sass are pretty much opposites and it would be interesting how Marcy and Sass interact. Also, as shown and stated in the episode ‘Maddie And Marcy’, Marcy was very curious and excited about magic and wanted to find someone who can teach her about it. So, Marcy would probably ask Sass a barrage of questions about the Kwamis. And I think those questions would be around the lines of: “How did the abstract concepts that each of the Kwamis represent first come into existence?”, “What time periods were each of the Kwamis born?”, “Who created the Miraculouses that each of you are connected to in the first place?”, “And how did they manage to create them?”, etc. Marcy would be very excited and curious about the nature of the Kwamis. Sass would probably be a bit overwhelmed Marcy’s enthusiasm at first. But Sass might grow to respect and admire Marcy’s curiosity.

Finally, I’ll be going over how Marcy would use the Snake Miraculous. As shown in the episode ‘Marcy At The Gates’ and as I pointed out in one of my previous points, Marcy is able to use the environment around her to her advantage in order to make potions that can help out in a situation. So, in a fight, if the situation ends in disaster, Marcy will use the Snake Miraculous to reverse time and try to find something in the surrounding environment that she might have missed in order to make a potion that will help with the situation. Also, I think that after Sass explains to Marcy exactly how the Snake Miraculous works, Marcy will compare the Snake Miraculous to another Miraculous that deals with time: the Rabbit Miraculous. And I think that Marcy will realize from that while the powers of the Snake Miraculous are similar, they aren’t the same because while what the Rabbit Miraculous does is time-travel, what the Snake Miraculous does is time-reversal. After all, as shown in the episode ‘Timetagger’, the Rabbit Miraculous allows the wielder to physically travel through the timeline whereas as shown in the episode ‘Desperada’, the Snake Miraculous’s power actually works like a time-loop and reverses time by 5 minutes while the wielder retains their memory of what happened. I also think this would mean to Marcy that the Snake Miraculous’s power to manipulate time is much safer than the Rabbit Miraculous’s. After all, since, as shown in the episode ‘Marcy At The Gates’, Marcy is pretty smart and is pretty knowledgeable when it comes to works of fiction which would probably include sci-fi about how time-travel and timelines work, she would know that the time-loop the Snake Miraculous causes literally undoes everything that happened around it in order for the wielder to change things which means that as far as the timeline is concerned, it technically never happened even before the wielder changes things whereas the Rabbit Miraculous allows the wielder to travel to points in time that they simply don’t belong in thus polluting the time stream. So, with that in mind, Marcy would probably use her skills in math and the Snake Miraculous’s power to try and test out the Butterfly Effect. Although, Marcy would make sure not to use people as the test subjects since, as shown in Entry 54 of Marcy’s Journal, Marcy didn’t want to press Anne for more details about what happened between her and Sasha since she knew that it was hard for Anne to talk about. So, I think that Marcy would test the Snake Miraculous’s power on inanimate objects rather than people. Also, I think Marcy will try to figure out why Sass and the Snake Miraculous resemble snakes and how it corresponds to the Snake Miraculous’s power to reverse time. After all, as shown in Entry 38 of Marcy’s Journal, during her time in Amphibia, Marcy wanted to study the “lore of this world”. So, I think Marcy would want to look into that. And given that enthusiasm when it comes to studying lore, I think Marcy might come to the conclusion that the reason why Sass and the Snake Miraculous resemble snakes is because the way a snake wraps themselves in a circle symbolizes how the Snake Miraculous wielder wraps themselves in a circle that is the Snake Miraculous’s time-loop.

Some last-minute Intuition theories

So Intuition is apparently coming out today, and we finally get to find out why Monarch hasn’t tried using the Snake Miraculous yet! That’s been one of my biggest questions about season 5—on the surface it looks like the perfect power for him, considering how often victory is snatched away from him by a last-minute surprise. And the episode summary suggests that Monarch understands this.

I haven’t been to the future yet, but I still feel like using these final moments before the episode’s release to try to anticipate what’s going to happen.

Spoilers abound; be warned!

Theory 1: Monarch already tried using it

We know the Snake Miraculous is difficult to wield well. Aspik failed to take down Desperada over twenty-five thousand times, and she wasn’t even all that tough of an opponent. Understanding everything about a timeline is impossible, and part of Ladybug’s reliable success comes from how she’s always able to react to anything that Monarch does, no matter how surprising. A time loop won’t change that, even if it does remove Ladybug’s ability to catch Monarch by surprise.

So what if Monarch already tried and failed to use Second Chance to manipulate an outcome through his advantage? That could have happened with a fight we’ve already seen, where the outcome shown was the one where he gave up continuing to try. Like Aspik, he’d have learned the hard way that a second chance doesn’t give you the ability to get things right. Viperion’s success was because he worked with the power rather than trying to twist it to work how he wanted it to. But Monarch’s exchange with the kwamis in Destruction shows that he has the opposite approach, and that won’t go well for him when messing with the timeline.

So if he already tried and failed to use the power, he’ll be reluctant to rely on it any time another power could work instead. And this would explain why he didn’t use the Snake Miraculous in any of his plans like the one in Deflagration, where he was closer than ever and needed every possible failsafe. Since he can only wield five Miraculouses, he doesn’t think it’s worth it to have one of them be the one he doesn’t understand.

Theory 2: Monarch is already using it constantly

While the first theory highlights Monarch’s weaknesses, this one serves as a reminder that even though he’s always failed to defeat Ladybug, she’s also always failed to defeat him. Because Monarch is cautious, to a fault—we shouldn’t forget how long he spent making the power transfer system for the Alliance rings to ensure he wouldn’t risk losing another Miraculous. And even if he doesn’t use powers as their kwamis intend, he’s very good at finding exploits and using them in clever ways. Just look at Optigami—we could be headed for a plan like that in today’s episode.

So if he understands the potential power of the Snake Miraculous as a failsafe, he might be very reluctant to use it at all recklessly. We don’t know enough about how the Snake Miraculous works to be sure if this could work, but perhaps he’s able to regularly make save points that he can go back to if he loses a Miraculous or if his identity gets revealed. He’d only need Sass to transform him if he actually needs to travel back, so that’d be why we’ve never seen him use that Miraculous.

Theory 3: Sass has been tricking Monarch

Even though the kwamis can’t directly disobey their holder, we saw in Destruction that there are loopholes to this, and Sass is a master of those. He’s a smooth talker and a quick thinker. Perhaps he always manages to convince Monarch that the Snake Miraculous isn’t worth using, or perhaps he’s encouraged misunderstandings of how it works. He’s the sort of person where it’d be surprising if he weren’t trying to undermine Monarch, and it’s just a question of how he’d go about doing that.

It’s also important to remember here that Sass has the ability to use Second Chance on his own. However, it doesn’t seem like something that could’ve happened offscreen considering the chaos that occurs when a kwami uses their power without a holder—and it’d also be hard for Monarch to not notice that, which would prompt him to order Sass to not use that power. Perhaps he’s simply already given Sass that order offscreen, or perhaps Sass just doesn’t have a good save point to go back to. (It’s unclear if he can only go back to the most recent one—would that still be the one in Ephemeral? Can he only go back to save points of his current holder? So many unanswered questions.)

A final note

One thing to keep in mind with all these theories is that Intuition chronologically takes place before five episodes that have already been released, and we haven’t seen the Snake Miraculous used in any of them. So whatever happens, this episode definitely isn’t going to cause Monarch to decide to use Second Chance more frequently going forward. And since he still has all his rings in later episodes, we know he isn’t going to lose the Miraculous today.

So I doubt today’s episode will significantly change the status quo going forward, but what it’ll hopefully change is our understanding of it—we’re about to know more about what Monarch’s doing and why, and that can have some major implications, including in episodes we’ve already seen. After all, when time rewinding is in play, the past can be just as full of surprises as the future.

wait is the s5 ending actually bad I am concerned

Honestly I don't think I can say. First of all because I don't know how you're defining "bad" (bad storytelling? Bad characterization? Bad outcome?) but second of all because the spoilers aren't..... Specific, if that makes sense? I really can't explain it. I know how S6 is gonna go on, and I know a few key details, but I don't really know what the ending of S5 looks like. I mean, I don't know. We've known how things were gonna end since the beginning. This is not a show that's gonna have some gotcha grimdark ending. And frankly, the finale episodes especially had vague synopses. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else so I'm being vague but.....

Imagine having watched seasons 1 and 2, and you hear about season 3. You know there's a kwami swap episode, you know that Max gets a Miraculous, you know that at some point Mayura will be making an appearance or two, you know that at the beginning of the next season Hawk Moth will have the fixed Peacock Miraculous. You don't know that Marinette is gonna become Guardian, that she almost gets akumatized, that Juleka wants to be a model, that Chat ends up learning that Marinette was Multimouse, that Alya and Nino got akumatized into Oblivio, that Félix is gonna introduce two very important rings. You definitely don't know about the adorable Adrigaminette in Loveater, the Adrinette nap in Startrain, the angsty way Adrien gives up the Snake in Desperada.

That's how I would describe the gaps in knowledge. I know stuff. I know that I know stuff. But I don't know so much that I think it's not worth it to watch S5, because most of the stuff that I love about Miraculous has not been spoiled.

Dead End: Paranormal Park is AWESOME, and is already being attacked by Concerned Parents... with the weirdest morals.

The first episode alone has demonic possession, ritual sacrifice, satanic chanting, and the main characters are almost killed on screen. 

Other episodes have the dog reading from what could be described as a demon spell book (And perform dark magic) more satanic possession, TWO characters get killed on  screen, there’s body horror, one character tries to gouge another’s eyes, etc. One of the main characters is a literal demon, who at one point look like she’s dragging a corpse inside the house. 

The thing they’re complaining about?

Totally random, but after seeing the sneak peek of the new Monster High series

Imagine if they released a gimmicky Frankie with limbs like Create-A-Monster, but instead of just “normal” limbs, give them the most random add-ons, like that hookshoot, a whisk, spoon, brushes, a mop...

Basically, “Inspector Gadget” Frankie.

It's so bizarre how the show insist that Adrien/Marinette are the endgame ship and go out of their way with every other character shilling the pair... And then they make not one but two episodes were the universe gets destroyed when they are in a relationship (Chat Blanc and Ephemeral). And another that shows they wouldn't work well together (Desperada). And now one that heavily implies Ladybug mistake, that Hawk Moth wouldn't shut up about, was trusting Adrien with a Miraculous (He was Felix, but she didn't know).

It's like they want us to root for them, but at the same time are giving us reasons not to.

Luka Couffaine has the ultimate Poker Face

As extremely distracting Marinette’s fixation on Adrien is, it’s super easy to miss the smaller details.

Like how Luka himself doesn’t volunteer to be Jagged’s guitarist.

And the look Luka gives Marinette when she declares that “Luka can lend Adrien his guitar!”

He doesn’t look upset whatsoever, just bewildered at the entire situation. Then he just smiles and hands off his guitar. This looks to me that the boy was not at ALL thrilled at the idea of working with Jagged Stone, his actual FAVOURITE singer, after watching his mother get into a heated argument with the man over their shared past that was unknown to him prior to literally just a few seconds ago.

Sure, we as the audience and all of Marinette’s friends (sans Adrien) are aware that Marinette was really pushing Adrien out of favouritism. But from Luka’s perspective, it probably seemed to him that Marinette was deliberately dodging the idea of volunteering him without his clear consent, and thought that was pretty cool of her.

And not only that, remember when Kagami put Marinette on the spot and asked if she was watching “her boyfriend rehearse?”

No reaction from Luka. Just a plain, neutral expression. And Desperada (311 in production order) came not too long after Silencer (307), where he had explictly confessed his feelings to Marinette.

When Luka made his declaration to her, he simply walked away to go perform with his friends. He didn’t expect an answer from Marinette right away, as he’s already aware of her crush on Adrien after Frozer.

Luka is simply waiting for Marinette to work her feelings out for herself, and remains calm, cool and collected.

We also have seen how he interacts with his little sister, who has severe anxiety and is known to have panic attacks, so he must have experience with handling complicated emotions by being there for Juleka.

Luka knows how to control his body language and facial expressions to avoid reacting to what is happening in front of him, so that Juleka and Marinette don’t jump to conclusions about what he is really thinking and feel worse for it.

I think that’s very interesting characterization for him.
