"art" here is defined in the broadest of terms. they are vocal and grating about their opposite opinion. imagine the worst possible options. if you are against "marriage," then this is defined as living with a partner.

It's sad to me that you can't define female rage without everyone including the most radical of definitions telling you what it cannot be or shouldn't be

Conservatives are so funny. Imagine the worst part of your life being told to address someone by their pronouns. Imagine being so oppressed by first grade grammar.

ofc yk i love the lockwood and co books more than life itself but sometimes i wish that there was an addition to the empty grave, like yk the moment lockwood is nervously gathering the courage to give lucy his mother's necklace?
yk what gets me about that scene in canon? just seconds before that lucy is worried about the siege they're expecting to their home. she's worried that the cards are stacked against them and lockwood, as usual, assures her that they will make it out alive, they will succeed together like they always have. it is only after that that he tells her about how his father gave his mother the necklace and how it was a symbol of undying devotion.
now imagine if kipps was atleast 5 minutes late with his interruption. imagine if lockwood got the words out and said "i want u to have said symbol of undying devotion oki byeeee". lucy is dumbstruck and not in a good way. he just said that he is 100% positive that they'll make it alive. there's no reason to be afraid. so why is he giving this necklace like its a parting gift? like this is his last chance to say how he feels? like he's already planning on pulling something dumb like idk sacrificing himself to save the rest of them (which he almost did)
so the answer lucy would have to lockwood's poorly timed question would be that he is lying. he's not a 100% sure that they'll make out alive, that they won't lose anyone, and he's absolutely terrified, which is why he's taking the opportunity to give something like this now, because he's scared that this is the last time they'll see or talk to each other.
so now kipps interrupts and says that gale has broken into their home and to hurry up. lucy takes this chance to close the box and hand it back to lockwood. she doesn't want it. not now atleast. she tells him to ask her again after they've kicked marissa's ass, after they've won the war like they're meant to.

Imagine my shock as a neurodivergent teen when I first realized that using large vocabulary and eloquent speech doesn't make you less likely to be misinterpreted, rather it adds an entirely new layer of misinterpretation I had never even realized existed in the form of people thinking you're being snobbish or condescending when you're just trying to be specific

But does anyone not understand how bad Pamela Anderson’s ordeal was?
All she did was had sex with her own husband on her honeymoon.
She literally got slut shamed for it.
You know sexism is bad when a married woman can’t even have fuck her own husband without being slut shamed.
