Tim: “I need to tell you something”
Bruce: “What did you do??”
Tim: “when Alfred was doing our taxes he noticed a missing check”
Bruce: “what did you do???”
Tim: “Before I answer do you trust me enough to understand that it was for a good reason and just leave it at that?”
Bruce: “What. Did. You. Do.”
Tim: “it’s all Jason’s fault! He is a BAD person, I’ve been telling you for years!”
—————
Bruce to Jason: “WHAT DID YOU DO?”
Jason: “okay now before I answer that-“
Bruce: “just tell me whatcha did”
Jason: “I got a DUI”
Bruce: “Jason!”
Jason: “it’s not as bad as it sounds”
Bruce: “How is driving drunk not bad???”
Jason: “I wasn’t exactly driving”
Bruce: “I don’t follow.”
Jason: “I was at the bar with Damian and I had a few”
Bruce: “DAMIAN?!”
—————
Damian: “With God as my witness I’ve never been to that bar in my life.”
Jason: “He knows.”
Damian: “Oh I’ve been there a bunch”

Where did Tim learn to read people? Gossiping old ladies at galas. He would sit with them as they pointed out different guests, indicated a slight difference, and then accurately depicted what skeletons their closet held.
Lady 1: "Did you see what cufflinks John Wess had on?"
Lady 2: "Oh? They're the ones inherited by his father? It looks like we'll be reading about a divorce by the end of the year."
Tim: *purposefully playing up his naive clueless innocence so he can learn their skills*
Lady 4: "Oh. It seems Rebecca Till has sunset orange lipstick on tonight."
Lady 2: *sighs and starts chugging her champagne*
Lady 3: "Ha! You all owe me a social favor now. I told you she was sleeping with the mayor."
Tim: *startles as he looks at Ms. Till's lipstick and then back at the ladies confused how those add up*

My favorite HC ever is Dick Grayson just. Acting dumb. In all aspects.
Richard John Grayson is perfectly fucking capable of cooking. Is stereotyped to be capable of burning water and is banned from the manor’s kitchen. His brothers have no idea he knows how to make a three Michelin star steak.
Dick Grayson is bisexual. He knows this, has known it for forever, and is 100% comfortable with it. Based on what others would tell you, though, he’s completely straight and is actually a little uncomfortable with being considered gay. 100% a fierce ally to his queer family and friends tho.
What’s navigation like for Dickie Gray? A master. Can track anything, navigate anywhere, knows a dozen methods for any given survival scenario. To everyone else? Dick cannot do it. Incapable. Directionally challenged. You’d think a trapeze artist would know which way is up, but no. He gets it from his parents.
Dickiebird? Excellent manipulator. We know this. His family knows it. Some of his friends know it. They pray for any poor soul who has no idea how manipulative Dick can be. They watch in the distance disappointedly, knowing that Dick’s victim just thinks he’s an ordinary, honest, standup guy, all the while not even knowing that despite being aware of Dick’s true nature, they are being manipulated in equal measure.
Related side note: Good ol Richy? Incredible conversationalist. Everyone knows this. It’s his whole persona. Wears that fact on his sleeve. He always finds a way to make everyone feel like he’s interested in the conversation, even if he would rather die than talk about the current topic for a second longer. And this goes beyond just giving occasional sounds of acknowledgment and peppering words like “cool” or “yeah”. Someone could be talking about the most boring topic imaginable, and he’d have a dazzling smile on his face, his body language signifying that he’s completely engaged, will even ask proper clarifying questions in an attempt to learn more. When he exits the conversation, someone asks, “wow, are you really that fascinated by (insert inane topic)?” and while Dick’s smile doesn’t even falter, he immediately drops the pretense and says, “Oh, absolutely not. That was the most boring conversation I’ve ever had in my life.”
Dick Grayson has gotten this far in life because people consistently underestimate him. He’s made himself come across as juuust incompetent enough (in very particular ways that don’t compromise his image as a capable leader), leaving everyone absolutely fucking blindsided whenever he pulls the rug out from under them about what they thought he was capable of.
And we love him for it.

Bruce can only sleep if Clark is cuddling him. Bruce is ALWAYS the little spoon and he snuggles up to Clark like a koala. He likes it when Clark’s heater of a body is surrounding him; it makes him feel all toasty and warm. Clark’s pecs and muscles also make the perfect pillow so that is a big plus.
The first time Clark has this happen where Bruce is snuggling up to him he is kinda confused like this is the same man who refers to himself as “vengeance”, but he also loves that Bruce is snuggling up to him so he pulls him closer.
Bruce also sometimes likes resting his head in Clark’s lap after a really hard and draining mission.

I feel like out of all of the batsibs Jason would be the one who knows how to play an instrument, or at least be the one that wanted to learn
like yeah, Tim might have had a few years of violin lessons from when he was really young and Dick might play a bit of guitar but Jason had a passion for the piano
Jason saw the grand piano in one of the sittings rooms of the manor and knew immediately he wanted to learn. piano lessons were one of the first things he asked for from Bruce. Bruce agreed ofc, but expected Jason to get bored of it after the first few weeks. it came as a bit of a surprise when months later he still found Jason practicing everyday
even after being unable to play for a bit due to being injured he’s bounce right back to practicing as soon as he could
Bruce and Alfred always liked to stay close to the sitting room with the grand piano when Jason was practicing. Dick would even come from Bludhaven despite the tension with Bruce to listen to whatever new piece Jason mastered. his piano teacher always told him his hands looked like they were made for playing the piano
that’s why when Jason died the silence stretching the halls was all the more painful and why no one came close to the room containing the grand piano anymore

Cg!Alfred Pennyworth headcanons!
(Mentions of regressor batfam and cg bruce throughout the list!!)
a gift to @cutiecorner !! i hope you feel better soon and enjoy these hc’s <3 :]
Tumblr media
Bruce never had to tell Alfred directly about his regression, it just naturally happened over time.
Sure, there were conversations about how to go about it and boundaries, but no direct coming out conversation.
Alfred is already observant, and he’s been taking care of Bruce since he was a baby. The man knows his son.
When one of his kids regresses, he’s always the first to notice, as well as the first person by their side to assist them if they need it.
Alfred’s swaddling has become a household favorite.
The blankets are always soft and smell like vanilla lavender, which is a personal favorite scent of bruce’s.
Bruce’s kids always prefer to run off and grab a blanket from the study or office to be swaddled in, since it smells like a mixture between Bruce’s cologne and Alfred’s cinnamon tea, familiar and comforting scents.
He’s mastered the art of being able to divide his attention between kids equally to ensure nobody gets upset that he may spend more time or attention on a smaller regressor.
Bruce goes between being a caregiver and a regressor, and though most of the kids would never admit it to bruce (Dick is blunt and honest when he’s regressed, a trait that Bruce has a love hate relationship with.) Alfred’s milk recipe is just different in a way that can’t be replicated, they’re never too sweet, never too warm or hot. Always perfect.
Most kids least favorite time of day is bedtime, but everyone in the house adores it when they’re regressed.
Alfred makes it fun for the still energetic ones, making it a game or challenge to do their bedtime routine, like brushing their teeth and taking care of their face and hair.
“Good job, sweetheart! Lets see who can brush their teeth the best!”
For the soft and gentle sleepy ones, he helps them around, doing the routine mostly for them with soft praises and encouragement to keep them awake long enough to get them in bed.
“Oh, you’re very tired, little one. Let me wash your face and then you can cuddle up in your warm bed, hm?”
The only time one of the kids don’t like going to bed is if they’re between being regressed and not because they’re tense and stressed from doing work, but Alfred can always guarantee that he can pull anyone away from their work with a little bit of babying.
Taking their hands in his, doing more things for them than usual, making their favorite snack or drink.. the list goes on.
He loves when his kiddo’s stick to his side all the time. Wether it be curious about what he’s doing around the house today, or just wanting to be around Alfie because there’s no reason needed for that, he loves it. Absolutely adores it.
If someone gets hurt, he’s always rushing to their side, cradling their head with whispered assurances as he examines the injury.
“Oh dear, don’t fret, Alfie’s here to help you. Now let’s see where you got hurt.”
If someone is upset, Alfred will do anything to keep his babies from crying. If it’s something minor, like a stuffed animal having to be washed, he’ll play games with them to keep them distracted. If they’re super tiny he’ll make funny faces like he used to with baby bruce.
If it’s something bigger that can’t simply be distracted with, he’ll sit with them and hold them in his lap as they cry. If they wanna talk, he’ll listen and nod along, talk about how brave they are. If they don’t want to, he’ll just press kisses to their head, tell them how they’re so strong.
“It may not be okay right now, darling, but I promise you it will get better.”
He would never let one of the kids see, mostly out of fear that they would begin to worry about him, but once they’re all in bed or he watches them play from afar and enjoy themselves, he sheds a few tears at the fact that his kids not only found a way to help with their issues, but that they trust him with the honor of helping and taking care of them in such a sensitive situation.

I like to hc that Jason and Dick are on completely opposite spectrums with knowing how to cook
Jason’s the type that can never follow a recipe but be able to throw random shit together and its the best thing you’ve ever had but also you are never getting that specific thing made like that ever again while Dick’s the type to have a few select recipes that he knows down to his core but can never make anything new without messing it up in some way

Halloween with the BatFam
Because of the horrors they experience year round, they tend to prefer a more Disney Channel -esque Halloween (not including The Girls’ scary movie night and general spooking).
Jason loves pumpkin spice flavored things more than anyone. Damian pretends he doesn’t like it so he can pick on Jason, but he’s the first to sneak into the kitchen to steal some of Alfred’s latest fall pastries.
Tim has a sizable fall and Halloween themed sweater collection.
Bruce, wanting to gently introduce Cass to the festivities of the season, unknowingly started a tradition: every year, despite the odds, the family gathers for a Disney Channel Halloween movie marathon. Halloweentown is one of Cass’ comfort movies.
The BatFam does have a pretty fun spook war. Points are awarded for stealth and overall scariness. Double points if you can scare Batman. None have been successful yet. Bruce has the second most amount of points. Alfred wins every year.
No scarecrows.
Barbara makes anyone and everyone watch Sixth Sense and Nightmare on Elm Street.
All of them carry candy for the kids they may run across on patrol or missions, but Dick carries the king size candy bars during Halloween. He’s very popular this time of year.
Hay rides, corn mazes, and kid-friendly haunted houses are a must. Damian is dragged off to all of these events as an excuse for his family members to act like children. He will never say, but he enjoys being surrounded by smiling people and included in normal family activities, so he doesn’t complain. Much.
They definitely dress up for Halloween. Over their super suits they wear witch hats, vampire cloaks, cat ears, or silly masks. It is one of the most fun nights of the year for them despite the crime.

I relate to Tim partially because I, too, was ignored most of my childhood, and so speaking from that I feel like there are a couple stages that kids go through when they're neglected. I'm not naming all of them, but I'll name a few along with some situations I think Tim would have gotten himself into during those stages. (obviously talking abt parents who do neglect kids, not all parents but if I say parents, I mean the neglectful ones)(also the age ranges/"stages" are all based on personal experience + what i've witnessed, not saying any of this is fact)(+ if I get any personality traits/time stamps wrong w Tim pls don't come for me lmao but feel free to correct me in comments)(long post incoming)
So #1 we've got confusion. Basically, at some point between the ages of 2-5, I feel like that's when parents usually start to neglect their kids (can happen sooner or later but, generalizing). So the kid goes from moderate amount of attention and receiving affection, to a lack thereof. Sometimes the kid will continue to expect affection and when they don't receive it, this can leave the kid wondering what they could have done wrong to cause this.
I feel like one day, Tim (around age 3) goes to lay in bed and is expecting his mom to come and tuck him in/give him a goodnight kiss, and he just stays laying there for almost an hour. At some point he gets up to check if she's coming and she's already gone to bed. Tim knocks on the door, no response. Understandably upset, he goes back to bed and attempts to tuck himself in before giving up and laying in bed, crying himself to sleep. The next day he tries making his mom a card telling her how much he loves her, thinking that will fix his non-existent "mistake", and she accepts it kindly enough, but he finds it later that day in the trash.
Ok on to #2, we've got a mix of denial and the beginnings of acting out. This might happen between 4-7, the kid doesn't know how to deal with the neglect, so they act like it's not happening. They've adjusted to less affection but they're still so eager when they receive any bit of it, and they still offer hugs and cards when they think that will help things. If someone asked them if their parents loved them, they'd confidently answer yes. But there's still that pit in their stomach, like they can't do enough to get that love and affection back, so they find another way they think could work. It's not necessarily a conscious decision, to act out. Could be the kid is a little fussier in the morning, hoping their parent will offer to hold their hand on the walk to the bus. Could be the kid saying they don't feel well at school so their parent will come pick them up. Could be seeming like a "distraction" or "nuisance" because the kid keeps trying to make conversation or make funny faces during dinner.
I think little Tim would try and hug his parents each morning before school, going as far as being late to school because his dad had an important phone call and Tim sat there waiting for him to hang up. Tim would probably leave his lunch bag at home on purpose just so he would have to call his mom and ask her to bring it to school for him. She'd end up asking a nanny to send it for her, or just telling Tim to get a lunch from the cafeteria instead.
#3 is more obvious attempts at gaining attention. Probably from anywhere within ages 7-12, the kid will still preen at affection, but they're less likely to seek it from their parents. They might even outright dismiss any potential affection from their parents because they feel like it's not genuine or that they don't deserve it. The kid will likely try to get attention and affection from a teacher/authority figure, but they may also like attention from peers. This may lead to the kid either seeming to be a "class clown" or just a "class nuisance", that or a teacher's pet. They may still act out by faking an illness or being more irritable, but they could go further towards things like knocking stuff over and causing a scene, bullying peers, or interrupting the teacher to tell jokes.
I feel like Tim might try the joke route, while also being a teacher's pet with certain teachers. He'd do the jokes in a subtle way where it's not outright loud and attention seeking, but where people still know it's him. He might be the type to draw a caricature of a teacher he dislikes on the board before class, or put gum on the bully's desk chair so it gets on their pants, or pass around a silly joke on a paper. He might get himself into trouble with the principal, or get bullied more by some peers, for his various antics, but never bad enough that his parents are called. If they threaten to call his parents, he reminds them that either they're A) out of the country and would be of no use or B) that they fund the school (or smth like that, maybe Tim just straight up pays them not to call his parents). Teacher's Pet Tim would only happen with one teacher I think, probably the art teacher or maybe English. It'd be something where he'd start joking in that class but right as that teacher says so, he'll calm right down and be super respectful loll.
#4 is basically all of the teenage years. This can vary a lot from person to person so i'm hesitant to label this, so i'm just gonna talk about what I think Tim would/does do. So at this point in time, around 13 years old, he's pretty much given up on his parents. He could give less of a shit about what they think (or at least that's what he tells himself). So during this time, he's started following Batman and Robin, bouncing around rooftops and photographing them and whatnot. His parents don't notice, and if they ever asked he'd have "i'm sleeping over at a friend's house" prepared as an excuse. During this time, he's distant from his parents and while Batman has become that authority figure that he looks up to, he's not close with Batman either. I think this would lead to him feeling exceptionally lonely, and while he still has friends, he doesn't ask to hang out near as much as he used to. Whenever they ask, he usually rejects and says he's busy that night, even on nights he wasn't planning to go out and do photography. On those nights, he mostly lays in bed either doom scrolling through blogs and news stories about vigilantes, or just listening to music. This span of time finds Tim occupied with art, photography, laying in bed, listening to music, and finding out secret identities.
Once he becomes Robin, he's far happier than before. Finally a vigilante, he's become the thing he looked up to for years. But there's downsides, besides the obvious horrible things he witnesses of course. He wants to reconnect with those friends he pushed away when he was in that depressive slump, but he can't just say "Hey batman, i'm taking a night off from patrol!", and this leads to his friends making rumors or just being suspicious in general. They realize he seems happier, but he still can't hang out? He dodges questions? Why is that? They begin to rely on him less, not inviting him to things because they already assume he won't be able to go. While he's happy, he still feels far too lonely.
But he's a vigilante now. He tells himself he doesn't have time for being lonely or feeling unloved. So he'll push down that urge to receive a hug from his mother, he'll ignore the pride he feels when he receives a sliver of attention from Batman or his teachers, he'll try not to feel lonely when his friends mention shows or movies he hasn't had time to catch up on yet, he'll hope Batman ignored those times he slipped and called him "Dad", and he'll ignore that pit in his soul that's been there since he was 6 years old and never really healed.
He's a vigilante now, he doesn't have time to want (need) affection.

I just want good angst about Bruce desperately trying to parent Tim but realizing he fucked it up
or Bruce realizing he kinda sees tim as a father figure in a weird way
or the bats all realizing how Tim’s been forced to mature quickly so he can take care of them, and he won’t stop trying to be the adult in situations even after the bats try to make it so he doesn’t have to
There are a few fics out there that center around Tim and Bruce's relationship after Bruce realizes how bad he treated Tim. "Grudge (I hold none)" by reinersbigtits. "Just How Much I Love You" by sElkieNight60. Honestly, a bunch of sElkieNight60 fics have Bruce trying to be a better parent. Their fic "Redraw Our Expectations" showcases Bruce trying to parent Tim and the teen finds that strange, weird, and restrictive. They chat about it.
I sadly haven't seen any fics where Bruce considers Tim to be his father. I have seen a few that describe Tim as his closest confidant or mental support, but none about the father hc/au :(
If you want some quick angst about Bruce seeing Tim as a father figure, here's an idea:
Bruce is ruminating on his kids. As he's going through his mental list of the kids (perhaps trying to remember where they all are), he realizes that it's an effort to add Tim to that list. At first, Bruce clocks it as the older man being a horrible parent to Tim or needing more time with his son. Bruce wants to fix this and sets out to do so. He tracks down Tim to spend some time with him.
Halfway through the hangout, Bruce starts to relax. They are both having a good time, chatting and laughing. It only changes when he notices Tim's subtle nods, his slight mannerisms that encourage Bruce to keep talking, and the scrunch at the corner of Tim's eyes that indicate he's proud. It's an errant thought of the older man, but one that rapidly changes his worldview.
Tim acts like Alfred.
Tim acts like a father to Bruce.
Tim has always acted like a father to Bruce.
What has Bruce done?
The comment about Tim continuing to be the "adult" or "mature one" in the situation because that's all he's known hurts. If you add that hc to the one where Tim is constantly told to "be the bigger person" when it comes to being insulted by his traumatized family members, that's painful.
Alright, let's build on this hc/au. I'm going to use subtle canon background clues to create a probable psychological assessment on Tim's behaviors. The reasonings are all hc.
Tim was emotionally neglected and abused by his parents (not nearly to the extent of fanon and his parents did love him, but that doesn't change their emotional distance or the harm Jack did after his coma). One could hc that, due to the limited time he spent with them before they left again, Tim tried to keep the peace when they were there. He wanted to spend the time with his parents not fighting, even if that meant choking down his own emotions/needs, placating his parents, and overall keeping a pleasant demeanor around them regardless of passive aggressive insults (looking at Jack here).
If his parents had marital issues, like fighting and insulting each other in front of Tim, the child might have tried to mend their fights and solve their issues in order to spend more time with happy parents. It's a helpful behavior that could've been praised by Jack and Janet, leading to Tim continuously uptaking a mediator role.
This would morph into a people pleasing attitude that heavily clashed with Tim's independence and lack of authority in his life. This is what enables him to be suited for kicking a depressed, angry Bruce into his healing arc (enables, but doesn't excuse Bruce's reliance on a child nor condone it). Tim would probably insert himself into Dick and Bruce's relationship.
Unlike his parents, Dick and Bruce probably weren't happy an unrelated kid was mediating their relationship or getting in the middle of their arguments. Because of their contant rejection to Tim's efforts, the kid's behavior could morph into a more subtle and subterfuge manner. This comes in handy when Jason and Damian come around (because they for sure would not listen to Tim's advice).
Tim, because he's spent his entire life managing other people's emotions for them, would understand where Damian and Jason are coming from as they hurt him. It is painful, and he may hold some resentment towards them (and a frozen anger), but he's used to yanking back his emotions and shoving them into an overfilled box. That's the easy part.
What's burdensome for him is the family. After realizing the lengths Tim goes to in order to ensure their bonds stay strong, they keep pressuring Tim to release some of his responsibilities. They want the relationships to be more equal.
Tim can't, though. If he lets go of his tight grip on holding the family together, he'll have to face that box of emotions he shoved down. He'll have to work through all the pain, anger, betrayal, grief, and desolation all of his family members gave him. If he accepts that he shouldn't be taking on so much emotional labor, he would have to face that he shouldn't have been subjected to so much abuse (from the Drakes or the Waynes).
Tim can't do that without falling apart.
He can't keep his hold on the family's support beams either.
It's not healthy nor productive for Tim to keep his position. Without releasing the pressure from his back, Tim will collapse and take the Waynes with him. He's too scared to let go, though. Will he survive the break? Will he have a place with the Waynes if he's not holding them up?

Ok so here are some Dick and Dami hcs
Dick took Damian to his first pride parade. Dami pretended he didn’t want to go but Dick knew he wanted to and enjoyed himself there.
They do these times where they both just sit in the same place and just exist. They don’t talk, Damian will do homework or would be drawing while Dick was doing some case work or WE thing or just something.
Damian realised how much Dick genuinely likes his drawings and randomly gives some to him. Like ever few weeks a painting or a sketch will show up on Dicks bed. Usually it’s someone Dick loves a lot. His parents, siblings, the titans, etc.
Dick has kept ever single one of them.
Some are on the fridge, some framed, and some in a carefully preserved and loved album.
Dick is one of the only people Damian trusts with his pets. Other is Alfred and eventually Jon gets added to the list.
Dick comes to all of Damian’s school events even small ones.
He especially never misses art showings.
Dick was the one Damian went to when he realised he likes boys as well.
Dick was the only person Damian was not scared of telling.
Damian was the first of the bats ( besides Alfred and Bruce but they knew earlier) to know about the origins of the name Robin.
He was even more proud of being Robin and swore that he’d make not only Dick but all the Graysons proud.
Dick taught Damian Romani. ( I’m sorry I can’t spell)
Damian taught Dick Arabic in return.
Dick was the first person Damian knew loved him.
Dick is the only person that Damian trusts not to get tired of him.
Dick introduced Damian to Zitka.
Dick is protective but never controlling of Damian.
Since Dick lost the original poster he had of the Flying Graysons Damian painted him an exact copy.
After Robin Damian took the name Flamebird and became Nightwings partner.
While Bruce was dead Dick adopted Damian.
It still continued after Bruce came back.
Bruce may be Damian’s father but Dick is his baba.
