I came across this in my YT feed yesterday, watched it out of curiosity, and found out that most of the Japanese music I enjoy uses the "Royal Road Progression" (IV-V-iii-vi).
I haven't formally studied music or music theory, so this came as a surprise for me. It started to make sense that there's a certain feel to Anisong and most Japanese music in general; it just took me being educationally rick-rolled. /lh
So I decided to test if a current earworm of mine contains this progression. More under the cut.
Since I recently re-watched Bakumatsu Rock (archived in an external HD) while our internet was getting fixed, I re-listened to (and fell in love again with) some of the songs, most notably "INTERSECT".
I tried to find its guitar chords in a Japanese chord site I frequently use, and lucked in on the song being available, plus details like what key it is in (B♭ minor). This prompted me to do a quick research on the B♭ scale and its equivalent roman numeral notation.
Using the information I obtained, I found that the chorus uses VI-VII-v-i in general (with some variations). At first, I couldn't make anything out of it, but my husband suggested we try to use the relative key in major (which is D♭). Once we did that, and tried to map the chords again to its roman numeral notation, it turns out that it was, indeed, using IV-V-iii-vi. Later on, in watching the cited videos and reading some comments, I learned that VI-VII-v-i is the royal road progression in minor scales.
I can't believe watching this video sent me into a rabbit hole of music theory. Maybe next time I'll try checking out the chord progression of some of my other favorite songs. XD
For now...

📚The Good Omens graphic novel Kickstarter mega post 📚
As we enter the last hours of the Good Omens graphic novel Kickstarter, here’s a recap of ALL the items you can get and how to get them. We’ll also answer some of the main questions you’ve had.
Get yours here!
*
TIERS
Tumblr media
THE HUMAN TIER (£25 GBP) includes one copy of the Good Omens graphic novel. All of the stretch goal embellishments (foiling, ribbon, foreword, afterword, extra pages, etc) cover every level (including early bird). Every backer also gets a bookmark. This also includes the foreword and afterword by Michael Sheen, David Tennant, and Jon Hamm.
*
Tumblr media
THE SERPENT TIER (£40 GBP) includes one copy of the Good Omens graphic novel, a dust jacket* featuring an alt cover by Frank Quitely and Loot Pack #1*, which is full of goodies. *Stretch goals have added to these items, full info below.
The alt cover dust jacket is now reversible, with the other side featuring this by Rachael Stott in b&w.
✔️Serpent gets the dust jacket for your graphic novel.
✖ It does not have a print of this image. The colour version is available as an add on.
Tumblr media
Loot Pack #1 originally featured 2 x Colleen Doran prints (including a brand new piece), a postcard and bookmark. Fans have unlocked additional Colleen prints, some colouring pages, as well as *many* prints from other artists… You have unlocked prints from Rachael Stott (different to the alt cover image), Sarah Graley, David Aja, Mark Buckingham, Tanya Roberts, Paul Kidby, Alice Oseman and Anna Morozova, as well as the Frank Quitely cover as a print.
Tumblr media
We’ve been asked a lot about Alice Oseman's prints, so to clarify: if you back the Serpent Tier or above, you will get Alice's print featuring Aziraphale, as well as the newly commissioned Crowley to complete the pair.
*
Tumblr media
THE HELLHOUND TIER (£120 GBP) includes the prior tiers + Loot Pack #2, ft. Crowley and Aziraphale enamel pins, stickers, and a pack of the Good Omens trading cards. These will be playable. Tier backers can also get rare cards in their order at random.
*
Tumblr media
THE WITCHFINDER TIER (£200 GBP) has all of this, plus an exquisite map by Julien Labit. Dimensions will be approximately 594 x 841 mm.
*
Tumblr media
THE DEMON TIER (£320 GBP) is a creative punch from head to toe, with five additional enamel pins (including Dog), some snazzy socks, and two creator themed notebooks, one for your inner Pratchett, the other for your inner Gaiman.
*
Tumblr media
THE HORSEMEN TIER (£500 GBP) is the Demon Tier + A3 Giclee print from the graphic novel, signed by Colleen Doran, plus the exclusive Beelzebub enamel pin, and Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett collector's enamel pin set.
*
Tumblr media
THE OBSIDIAN TIER (£3k) builds on the Horsemen Tier with copies of the new, limited Obsidian editions (GO illustrated edition, graphic novel & William the Antichrist), signed by Neil Gaiman & artists, and a one-of-a-kind trading card by Colleen Doran.
*
Tumblr media
For booksellers, we have two options: The Small Bookshop Tier (10 copies) and The Bookshop Tier (20 copies), both of which offer a 50% trade discount. There are also add ons of 10 and 20 copies for shops looking to order more.
*
ADD ONS
The campaign itself ends at 11.59pm UK time on 31 August, so there’s still time to get your pledges in. Let’s move onto the add ons via Kickstarter...
How do you add more to your pledge? This link on Kickstarter should help. You effectively re-select the tier you’ve chosen, and then it will take you to the add on section. This works even if your tier is sold out, or was time sensitive (Nightingale).
Tumblr media
Unlike tiers, you are not limited to one choice with add ons. You can get additional copies of the graphic novel, mugs, slipcases, the graphic novel oversized edition, and more. Rachael Stott's Eternal Encounter print is available also.
*
Tumblr media
A.Z. FELL & CO ADD ONS. Includes: Bookmark, mug, socks, tote bag. The bookmark is different / higher end than those included with every copy of the graphic novel.
*
Tumblr media
TRADING CARDS. You can get a trading card booster pack. These will have at least six cards. The Hellhound Tier is where to get the larger, playable base pack. Base packs will be available down the road via the new merch store, but cheapest via the Kickstarter.
*
Tumblr media
ENAMEL PIN ADD ONS We have two pairs of Aziraphale and Crowley pins (£10 per set). We also have mystery packs of three available (£12). You can see the full pin information and designs so far at http://goodomenshq.com.
*
Tumblr media
While pins #005 onwards will be part of the mystery packs, they may pop up at events or in flash sales of specific items. We will give fans as much notice as possible when these exciting events will happen.
*
Tumblr media
BOOKSHOP ADD ONS. Bookshops who have backed either of the retail tiers will be able to add packs of 10 or 20 additional books onto their pledge. These tiers must be delivered to a bookshop address. These are also at 50% trade discount.
*
Tumblr media
OBSIDIAN ADD ONS. While the Obsidian Tier collects all three books, you can add the Obsidian Edition of the Good Omens illustrated edition, the Good Omens graphic novel, or William the Antichrist - signed by Neil - to pledges at any level.
*
Add ons are available for every tier level. Add ons will also be available after the Kickstarter, however will be cheapest via the campaign. We know a lot of people have been asking, so if 31 August is too short notice, worry not!
*
FAQ
Q: Will the graphic novel be available after the Kickstarter finishes? A: Yes. It will be available via PledgeManager, and subsequently on goodomenshq.com when that becomes the wider merch store.
Q: Will tiers be available after the Kickstarter finishes? A: Yes. Some will be available for an additional time on PledgeManager to allow those who couldn’t access the Kickstarter for a variety of reasons. This will go live at some point after the project finishes.
Q: Will the add ons be available after the Kickstarter finishes? A: Yes. Though Kickstarter will be the cheapest way to get the add ons, these will be made more widely available at a slight price increase after the campaign ends.
Q: I couldn’t back the Kickstarter due to payment issues. Can I use Paypal / other methods? A: We believe PledgeManager will be able to integrate the wider payment methods, including Paypal, for those who couldn’t back with a card. This is TBC. Longer term, this will be an option on goodomenshq.com when it opens as the official merch store.
Q: Shipping is charged after. Why do we not have the final numbers yet? A: We’ve been working across the campaign to bring estimates down further; the page will have new numbers as we have them pre-31 Aug, however we will be working over the coming months to get the best price for backers worldwide once the weights are locked in. Our goal is to get the best value for supporters and not overcharge by locking in this early.
Q: If it will all be available later, what difference is there in backing the Kickstarter? A: All backers get an individual discount code for the Good Omens HQ merch store when it opens in the future, so you can get money off further items. We’ve got some fun things that we’re planning to do via backer updates post-campaign too. More on that… later. You’ll still get plenty of ineffable joy either way though!
Q: Is there anywhere I can sign up for updates? A: Yes! Good Omens HQ will have a mailing list. You can sign up here.
Get yours here!

A3! Settsu Banri - Translation [SSR] MANKAI Feature (1/3)
Tumblr media
*Please read disclaimer on blog; default name set as Izumi
---
*knock, knock*
  Banri: Come in.
Tumblr media
*door opens*
Izumi: Hey there. Sorry for this all of a sudden. I have to talk to you about something.
Banri: It’s that, isn’t it? The poll for my side-chara, I mean.
Izumi: Woah! How did you know?
Banri: I figured it was ‘bout time for that. The project where we’re streamin’ spin-off stories of our side characters… Has my role been decided?
Izumi: The side character you’re going to play this time as chosen by the poll is… David from Autumn troupe’s 8th performance, “South Hill Prison”.
Banri: Huh, David… I didn’t see that one coming.
Tumblr media
Izumi: Actually, all your roles were popular in the poll. This one only won by a slim margin. That just goes to show how there are fans of all the roles you’ve played.
Banri: …Yeah, guess so.
Izumi: Tsuzuru-kun has started working on the script already, so let him know if you have any requests. Alright, I’m going to head back to the lounge. Let me know anytime if you have any other questions about the project.
Banri: Sure. …Requests, eh? Where is the script for our 8th play…
*flips open*
Banri: …
-pause-
Banri: …
Tumblr media
Azami: …
Banri: …
Azami: …Hey. How long are you gonna stay here?
Tumblr media
Banri: Mm, I’m getting a change of pace.
Azami: What’re you talkin’ about?
Banri: I wanted to feel the breeze.
Azami: You’re definitely pullin’ my leg.
Banri: Haha. Alright, the truth is I was just thinkin’ about the spin-off for my role that was chosen in the survey.
Azami: It’s your turn already?
Banri: Yep.
Azami: That’s fast…
Banri: You say that, but it’ll be your turn soon.
Azami: A spin-off, huh… is that what’s givin’ you trouble?
Banri: Are you curious?
Azami: I wanna know for reference when it’s my time.
Banri: That’s not exactly it. Tsuzuru’s the one makin’ the script… So I’m more worried about the direction.
Azami: What’re you, an honour student? That doesn’t help. *Siiigh*.
Banri: …Say, Azami.
Azami: What?
Banri: Do you think David’s dad is alive?
Tumblr media
Azami: …
Banri: …I’ll change my question. Do you think David can be saved?
Azami: Um…
Banri: …
Azami: …
Banri: My bad. I asked a weird question.
Azami: …Nah, it’s fine. Both Shaw and Ren were saved emotionally, weren’t they? The thing is, although you might not call it a happy ending, the story ended on a redeeming note. Startin’ with Shaw, everyone that appears in the play is a criminal of some sort… But that sorta redemption is nice, at least in a story. …In reality, that stuff can’t be undone.
Banri: Hm… that’s true.
*pats head*
Azami: ! Oi, don’t touch my head.
Tumblr media
*Banri leaves*
Azami: The hell, pattin’ my head… He treats me like a little brother.

AU T7S where Jackie Doesn't Exist on the Show
Season 1
Donna and Eric's transition from friendship to romance takes longer, giving Hyde more opportunities to interfere with the process. Eric grows more insecure that Donna might have romantic feelings for Hyde, not him, so he starts to back off. Donna takes this behavior as a sign that Eric wants to stay just friends.
Donna, however, makes clear to Hyde she only wants to be friends with him, and he finally gets the message when she dates David Milbank.
Hyde and Eric bond over their unrequited feelings for the same girl.
Kelso "dates" Pam Macy, who isn't at all monogamous. Still, Kelso loses his virginity to her at Prom. His Apollo Rocket of Love explodes on the launch pad, and Pam Macy tells everyone at school. Kelso can't get a date at Point Place high afterward. He's ridiculed by boys and girls alike, and he considers changing schools.
Fez is largely unaffected. He finds a different girl to fixate on, one who isn't in a relationship.
Season 2
David Milbank reveals his true interest in Donna is sex, not her thoughts or writing. She dumps him before they've gotten past first base.
Upset, Donna seeks comfort in Eric, who confesses that he's always liked Donna's thoughts. "In fact, I've always liked ... you."
Donna is shocked, happy, and pissed she didn't know this fact earlier. She asks Eric why he acted like he wasn't into her romantically. He says he thought she liked Hyde that way. "Hyde?" she says. "No, Hyde liked me. I liked you."
"You did?" Eric says. "I still do," Donna says, and they begin their romantic relationship.
Laurie, bored, has sex with Kelso in his van. But since he's not in a relationship, it's a one-time occurrence. Unfortunately, it adds fuel to Kelso's obsession with her. With his reputation at school in the toilet, he pursues Laurie to the point of stalking.
Laurie seeks help from Red, who not only threatens Kelso in the garage but also bans him from the house.
With all that's gone wrong in Kelso's life, he grows increasingly depressed. All his friends try to help, and the truth of Kelso's age comes out. He's eighteen.
Hyde suggests Kelso drop out of school, like most of Hyde's cousins did, and get a job. Donna says Kelso should get his G.E.D. at least. She, Eric, and Fez help him study for it and ultimately get his high school degree.
Living at the Formans' house has helped Hyde emotionally, but his nurturing instinct isn't being nurtured. He becomes more closed off and distant, despite giving support to Donna, Eric, and Fez when they need it.
Season 3
Donna and Eric have trouble navigating their misunderstandings without Jackie's advice and perspective. Hyde is helpful but not enough to make up for Jackie's absence. The resentments build up on both sides, and Donna and Eric break up under different circumstances than they do in "Promise Ring". Instead, they believe they're incompatible as a romantic couple.
Kelso enlists at the police academy after being pulled over for speeding. He believes becoming a cop because will negate his reputation for being a bad lover.
Fez's life is less stressful without chasing after someone (Jackie) who isn't interested in him romantically.
Hyde grows increasingly cynical after his dad (Bud) uses him to pay rent.
Season 4
Donna never dates Casey Kelso because Jackie isn't there to set them up. Donna and Eric date a string of people who they don't truly connect with.
Donna, though, grieving her mother's absence, leans on Hyde far more than she did on the show. Secretly, they start a sexual relationship. For Donna, it's a coping mechanism. For Hyde, it's much more. But Donna eventually connects to the emptiness she feels, and what follows is the grief she's been avoiding.
Hyde, without the insight of Jackie, resents Donna for using him and breaking his heart -- even though deep down he believed Donna hadn't suddenly fallen in love with him. He pushes past his own pain, however, and helps Donna and Eric reconcile.
Fez and Rhonda's relationship thrives without Casey's influence and Donna-influenced-by-Casey's confirmation of Casey's perspective.
Kelso sets fire to the Point Place Police Academy on Flare Day and is transferred to Kenosha.
Season 5
Eric and Donna work on their communication issues, among other difficulties.
Hyde moves out of the Formans' house once he turns eighteen, despite Red's reassurance and reasoning. After what went down with Donna, Hyde wants to run get away from the reminders of what he never really had. He leaves Point Place, and everyone is upset about it -- especially Kitty.
Fez and Rhonda consummate their relationship.
To honor Hyde, Eric, Donna, Kelso, and Fez spray paint his name on the water tower. But Eric, through Fez, learns Donna and Hyde were sleeping together last year. Fez says, "I'm happy you can put aside your anger at Hyde and do this for him." Eric says, "Anger? What anger?" Fez says, "Wow, you are even more secure than I thought! If Hyde had slept with my Rhonda, I would kill him."
This revelation tarts a fight between Eric and Donna. Fez and Kelso try to intervene, but Fez gets shoved off the water tower.
At the hospital, Fez's immigration status is discovered. Rhonda marries him so that he can stay in the U.S. and because she loves him.
Eric breaks up with Donna, feeling betrayed by both the fact she slept with Hyde and kept it a secret. He leaves Point Place after graduation to search for Hyde.
Season 6
Kelso and Brooke have sex at the Molly Hatchet concert, and Brooke becomes pregnant as a result.
Eric finds Hyde in Milwaukee. Hyde had gotten seriously hurt at his car mechanic job and needed a kidney transplant. Through this, his true paternity is discovered. W.B. is a match and gives Hyde a kidney.
Hyde's built a new life for himself with his newly discovered family. Eric confronts him about Donna, and Hyde explains the depression and terror and grief Donna was in after her mother left and she and Eric had broken up. "Think about it, man," Hyde says. "Under what other freakin' circumstances would Donna have sex with me? She was miserable."
With his new understanding and empathy, Eric forgives Hyde. Hyde both kept Donna from hurting herself with risk-taking behavior and helped her and Eric reconcile. Eric also lets go of any sense of betrayal he feels toward Hyde and Donna both.
Eric returns to Point Place and apologizes sincerely to Donna (and tells her he found Hyde, etc.) Donna apologizes, too. Not for sleeping with Hyde because better him than a stranger who could have hurt her, although she understands why her being with Eric's best friend hurt Eric. She's sorry for not being truthful with Eric and depriving him of the chance to make choices about their relationship based on the whole truth.
Eric and Donna reconcile, again, before going to college together.
Only Fez, Rhonda, and the Formans are left to help Kelso handle the fact he impregnated Brooke. Kelso, having learned of Hyde's whereabouts, drives to him in Milwaukee -- taking a leave of absence from the police academy.
Hyde sets Kelso to rights. W.B. also steps in, sharing how he wished he'd known he had a son, his grief at missing out on Hyde's upbringing, and sorrow for the trauma Hyde experienced at Bud and Edna's awful parenting.
This week with Hyde and his family convinced Kelso to be in his kid's life and prove to Brooke he's worth of it.
In the series finale, Betsy is born. Kelso holds her in the hospital room while Brooke looks on, tired but happy. Red and Kitty reunite with Hyde in Milwaukee. Fez and Rhonda decide to go to culinary school together so they can one day own a bakery. Eric proposes to Donna while they sit on the Vista Cruiser's hood.

my head is a mess and for some reason I feel like asking about your thoughts on Alien: Resurrection will fix me.
My distaste for Alien: Resurrection cannot be contained by words or the gravity well of a neutron star. The fact that it's so determinedly terrible a movie defies all explanation, because if you were to describe all the elements of the movie in brief, it sounds like the greatest movie ever made.
There is a making-of documentary for A:R, which I think is edifying to watch along side the making-of documentary for Alien³. When you watch the A3 documentary, you get a sense of what an enormous boondoggle the project was. Everyone looks exhausted as they describe how the movie kept taking wrong turns down blind alleys with constant failures in every part of the process. David Fincher was handed the reigns to a movie that was already on fire and exploding, and he managed to make a film that was at least somewhat coherent and watchable. The end result is Alien³ is kind of a middling to good action movie, a let down only because it was carrying the weight of expectations of Alien and Aliens.
Then you watch the documentary about Alien: Resurrection, and what you experience is boundless joy and enthusiasm for making terrible decisions. I wouldn't go so far as to claim Jean-Pierre Jeunet hates the source material in the way Tim Burton does with Batman, but it's clear from every statement he makes that at a bare minimum he does not understand it, and thinks he is above it.
Resurrection strips away everything that made the setting interesting. It has no sense of structure in the setting, where the other movies always generated a sense of belonging to a human civilization with corporate and government structure recognizable as extensions of the present day. Resurrection feels almost like it's attempting camp for biohorror, except for the fact that might be interesting and Resurrection is trying to have it's camp and artificial gravity too, ultimately failing either.
There's a bunch of cliche soldiers, an over complicated plot, Sigourney Weaver phoning in a performance for a franchise her and Fincher literally secretly conspired to extract her from five years previously in Alien³, and painfully bad CGI in all the wrong places. For me, the real crime is the mistreatment of H.R. Giger's magnificent design. In the first movie, we were present with a creature that felt truly outside anything human, a mixture of Bolaji Badejo's height plus his dancer's build and movements plus the mask which generates an illusion of a shape which could not possibly be a mere rubber suit. It had no eyes, it made weird hissing and trumpeting and screeching noises.
Jean-Pierre Jeunet, in his infinite wisdom, decided this monster should be heavy and muscular, it should roar like a copyright free tiger roar sound effect. Most criminal of all, he declared that the climax should feature a comical terrible human alien hybrid with the most generic guy in a rubber suit face, but you see it had to have eyes because without eyes it wasn't scary.
It's a terrible, awful movie made by people who seem to be proud to have made such a execrable pile of work. It's without question the worst thing to happen in the entire Alien franchise, and somehow it happened under the watch of acclaimed director Jeunet, and somehow is worse than a movie directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, and somehow it's worse than Prometheus which at worst misunderstands its own source material rather than pissing all over it.

[Image ID: Ken Hutchinson leaning on an open doorframe, behind him is a 2 pink anime-shoujo bubbles, little star sparkles pepper the background and overlap Hutch on his pants and in his hair. Two-thirds of the background is done in marker with 4 shades of pink from a light pink used to hi light the bubbles all the way to a light-reddish pink.
Hutch’s Physical Appearance. He is a yellowy-blond with white highlights and a sparkle near where his hair swoops over his forehead. Hutch is wearing beige/khaki bell bottoms and brown shoes. He is wearing an ugly knit Hanukkah sweater. With Happy Hanukkah written across the sleeves with happy on the left arm and Hanukkah on the right arm. The collar, cuffs, and hem are knit striped with dark blue and light blue. Above the hem are an alternating triangle pattern with a small circle at the tip with a little line coming off the top of the circle reaching a second thin line with dark blue zig-zag knitting to separate it from the center which is a light blue and dark blue stripped knit pattern around his stomach area. Around his tity area is a dreidel pattern with four dreidels separated by the triangle’s from before with the wide base at the top. The dreidels have nun, gimmel, hey, shin (hopefully) in the right order for the acronym “Nes Gadol Haya Sham” (A great miracle happened there) the dreidel pattern is boardered with the dark blue zigzag knit row and ends just above the nipple. Above that is white and the sleeves are also white except for the blue text. /End ID]

A3! Settsu Banri - Translation [SSR] MANKAI Feature (3/3)
Tumblr media
*Please read disclaimer on blog; default name set as Izumi
---
Izumi: (David offers a deal to another prisoner to procure the items that Ren requested.)
David [Banri]: “Here’s the deal. If you have a route to the outside, then I’m sure you also have what’s written on this memo.”
Tumblr media
Prisoner A: “Ha. You’ve certainly got some attitude askin’ someone for something.”
David [Banri]: “I’m sayin’ it’s a deal. I’m not asking you do to something unilaterally, alright?”
Prisoner A: “Since you’ve said that, you’ve got something to give to me, right?”
David [Banri]: “I’ll pay you the same amount as the last transaction.”
Prisoner A: “The same as last time? That ain’t enough. What about double?”
David [Banri]: “What the hell? Are you screwin’ with me?”
Prisoner A: “So you can’t cough it up? Then I’ve got nothing to say to ya.”
Izumi: (David usually deals smartly, but he was in a hurry this time since he was involved in Ren's prison break plan.) (Because of that, David got taken advantage of and he grew frustrated. Suddenly, a photo fell out of his pocket.) (It was a photo of David’s father.)
Prisoner A: “Huh? What’s this picture?”
David [Banri]: “! Don’t touch that!”
Prisoner A: “Oh, what’s this? It seems pretty important to ya, huh?” “Or does naiive little David get all wound up when his stuff gets touched a lil by someone else?”
David [Banri]: “You bastard…!”
*punches*
Prisoner A: “Woah!? What, you wanna go!? Take this!”
*punches*
David [Banri]: “Geh!”
*fight continues*
Izumi: (With his competitive nature to begin with, David reached his limit and a huge fist fight ensued.)
-pause-
Izumi: (After a guard broke them up, David calmed down and got his hands on what he wanted…)
David [Banri]: “*Sigh*… geez, that took a lotta extra effort.” “…?” “…My picture’s gone. Don’t tell me during that scuffle just now—.”
Tumblr media
Ren [Azami]: “Hey, is this what you’re lookin’ for?”
David [Banri]: “Ren!”
Ren [Azami]: “I picked it up after the throwdown earlier. Here."
Tumblr media
David [Banri]: “T-thanks… my bad.”
Ren [Azami]: “…Is that your family with you in the picture?”
David [Banri]: “…That’s my dad. I mentioned him briefly when I took on your request, but he’s in the hospital right now and it doesn’t look like he has much time left.” “I caused a lotta trouble for my dad. …I wanna see him and talk with him one more time.”
Ren [Azami]: “…I know how you feel. I feel the same way, y’know?”
David [Banri]: “Really now?”
Izumi: (Ren sympathized with David’s story that was a bit like his own.)
-pause-
Izumi: (However, a few days later… the news of Ren’s death reached David’s ears.)
David [Banri]: “Ren died…!?” “I… see…” “…”
Renato [Sakyo]: “…So that’s what happened, huh?” “That’s too bad… but you'll get another chance one day.”
Tumblr media
*Renato pats David*
David [Banri]: “Right…”
*Renato walks away*
David [Banri]: “…? What the? There’s somethin’ in my chest pocket…” “Gum…? Did Renato just do that?” “Ha… that ain’t like him.”
-pause-
Izumi: (It was the night before David planned to break out of prison with Shaw and the others. He payed Renato a visit.)
David [Banri]: “You’ve helped me a lot. I dropped by to say bye. Here’s my thanks.”
Renato [Sakyo]: “Hm. Your thanks is a piece of gum?”
Tumblr media
David [Banri]: “I thought it’d be shitty workin’ under someone. But it was surprisingly not that bad.”
Renato [Sakyo]: “Glad to hear that.”
David [Banri]: “Are you sure you don’t wanna leave this place?”
Renato [Sakyo]: “I’ve still got things to do here. You’ve got your own stuff, don’tcha?”
David [Banri]: “…Yeah, I do.”
Renato [Sakyo]: “This is my partin’ gift. Take it.”
Izumi: (Renato slapped David on the chest and returned the gum he received.)
David [Banri]: “Haha. Well, keep your chin up.”
Renato [Sakyo]: “You too.”
-pause-
Izumi: (After that, David successfully escaped from prison and parted ways with Shaw and the others.)
David [Banri]: “First, I’ll give my dad a call…” “…Crap. Even if I call from a payphone, I don’t have any coins on me.” “*Sigh*. All I’ve got in my pocket is some gum—.” “! No way, why're there coins…” “…Is this from Renato? That guy, tryna be cool.”
Tumblr media
*inserts coins and dials*
David’s dad: “…Hello?”
David [Banri]: “Dad…”
David’s dad: “…David? Is that you?”
David [Banri]: (His voice is weak, but he’s alive. …Thank God. I made it in time.) “Yeah, it’s me. I’m gonna head over to see you now.”
-pause-
Banri: …Ah, hey. I know this is sudden, but I’m gonna come over for a visit this weekend. Huh? Why the phone call? …Just ‘cause. See ya.
Tumblr media
*hangs up*
Izumi: Are you going home over the weekend?
Banri: Yeah. I’ll send a LIME in the group chat later, but I won’t need any food this weekend.
Izumi: Sure, got it.
Banri: Aight… Oh, I’ve already gotten messages on my socials.
Izumi: You also got some fan letters. I’ll leave them here, okay? (…Banri-kun’s concentrated on reading his messages and fan letters. I won’t interrupt him.)
-pause-
Izumi: ! You’re here, Sakyo-san?
Sakyo: I was gonna enter the lounge. But I felt like I would’ve interrupted if I did.
Tumblr media
Izumi: You don’t have to just stand here and watch…!
Sakyo: …He’s sincere, isn’t he?
Izumi: Yeah. I’m sure Banri-kun knows better than anyone that the fact he can stand on stage is because he has fans who believe in him and support him. Banri-kun didn’t say it, but this role was chosen by his fans… I think he considered his fans more than usual when he performed his play the other day.
Sakyo: Yeah, I think so too.
Izumi: (I feel more and more excited to see… what kind of performances Banri-kun will show us in the future.)
