#ttb Thursday throw back photo! This 60x48 inch acrylic painting was a blast to paint. It sold a few years ago to a wonderful family in Toronto. I finished another painting today for the @theotherartfair in Los Angeles!! I’m not posting it though lol I have to keep a few as a surprise for the show. So since I’m painting but not posting them I’ll have to repost a few photos from the past few years So please bear with me over the next few weeks while I try and finish up the LA show. ‘Hello.’ / “Hello.”

For all those out there who sniff at authors who denote dialogue using single quotation marks instead of double quotation marks, please see below:

‘Normal People’ by Sally Rooney.

‘Noughts and Crosses’ by Malorie Blackman.

‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ by J.K Rowling.

There is more than one method to communicate that your character is speaking. I see a lot of people commenting on fanfics saying that the authors use of anything outside of double quotations marks is lazy and wrong.

THIS IS INCORRECT.

Where this ‘rule’ comes from is the American publishing standards. This is not the typically case for writing ANYWHERE ELSE OR UNDER ANY OTHER PLATFORM.

So, the next time you try to wag your finger at an author who is VOLUNTARY WRITING YOU A PIECE OF FICTION FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE FOR FREE, you might want to check yourself first.

When you say food is Not a Human Right

It's a bit like asking a flower to work for, or earn, sunlight.

And while we can say some flowers give back to our society through their contributions of food, medicine, and raw materials. . . .

Some flowers are just beautiful.

A flower never has to prove its worthiness in order for a human to care for it.

We intrinsically understand the value of beautiful things and know All Plants are worthy air, water, and Sun just by virtue of their existence.
