IM SORRY THIS IS LIKE MY THIRD ASK TONIGHT BUT I JUST HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS- like like, the SWT obviously believes there is a "right" side to the war, and so did sokka! But then he went through all that horrible shit and he's told time and time again "there is no good side to war" and I'm just imagining hakoda confronting him about his fire nation sympathizer tendencies and how it's the bad side of the war and all that jazz and sokka gets fed up and is like "THERE IS NO GOOD SIDE IN WAR!!" And stuff and- this is messy but i never said i was a writer. I just think this would be so goddamn interesting

That’s a major theme in LIAB, the different perceptions of war. I think depending on which side you’re standing on your view may be skewed because you aren’t getting the clear picture.

Sokka is learning a lot, but he is still aware that the Fire Nation is wrong for what they are doing… but the Earth Kingdom isn’t completely innocent either. & really…. Sokka is learning it really boils down to the PERSON vs the nation… which is a lesson a lot of people could learn from.

I’m sure this theme will continue on throughout the fic and there will be plenty of learning moments on all sides. No one is perfect and there is always opportunity to grow and learn and it’s hard to blame someone for how they see things when that’s all they know.

It’ll be a FUN JOURNEY! But also a difficult one.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT????
