Book one ends with two major diffrences: 1. Sokka went on the mission with Hahn (it did not go well) 2. Zhao survives the North Pole and that proves unfortunate for everybody (except Zhao, obviously)

Imprisoned on Zhao’s war ship, Sokka and Zuko have to work together to survive. They are not very enthusiastic about this prospect.

And they argue.

Zuko was never banished from the fire nation, he tried to fight the agni kai, he got burned, but he was never banished. only for the fact that he was considered a national treasure for his kindness and compassion to the people. When the gaang finds this out, they hatch a plot hoping to end the war once and for all,spoilers, nothing goes according to plan.

Ozymandias, King of Kings

After that fateful Agni Kai, Ozai makes a different call. Branded as a traitor and banished to a prison camp, Zuko learns how cruel the Fire Nation can be to its citizens. Three years, a water tribe raid, and an unexpected meeting with a gang of over-enthusiastic idealistic children puts Zuko back in the spotlight. The revolution is coming and it wants another poster boy, but Zuko is not willing to lend his face to the cause.

Unpathed Waters, Undreamed Shores

Sokka is a sea-walker and when he finds himself pulled onto a Fire Nation ship, he chooses to stay aboard as their would-be "captive" rather than reveal the Water Tribe's secrets. He forms an unlikely bond with the exiled prince of the Fire Nation. there are still secrets and conflicts that can't be erased, and it's up to each of them to decide if they'll choose the worlds they're used to or fight for a new world where they can be together.

I'm reading LIAB (chapter Going the Distance), and loving every word of it! I'm considering it as a real book instead of fanfiction, because you're a really skilled author and I can't wait to read the whole series and become an unbearable fan annoying you!! 😜❤️🙏🏼

Anyway, while reading I can't help but wonder: during the series are we gonna see Zuko and Iroh together again? I can't stop thinking about how Zuko misses his uncle (for context, Chang just was left behind for me, so I'm a little emotional about that yet!!!) and I can't stop thinking if we get to see Iroh unleashing all his angry at Zhao once he finds out what happened to Zuko and how our boy suffered...

(Another question completely different: is there any scene in the story you would love to see draw? I actually got to know your fic because of the lovely fanarts hahah, and now I was thinking about drawing something that I read but can't decide which scene 😭😭)

So much will happen between where you’re at in the fic & where you’re going, that it’s hard to even explain without spoiling the entire fic! Which I will do if you want just let me know haha. but Iroh will be part of the story and I think you get an update on him towards the end of the first book & then you’ll hear about him in RIA & then they’ll be reunited in ITF. They have a long & painful journey ahead of them I’m sorry… you have quite a bit of angst to get through.

& I can promise you Iroh is going to be very very PISSED. I love me some slightly feral Iroh, especially when it comes to his nephew.

Love of my Life

This is a pmv of RD's story.

Most of the pregame comics are posted on the blog and instagram.

Their first encounter, the masquerade, moving in together, falling in love, etc.

When RD gets overwhelmed with anxiety/panic or heartbreak, their magic turns corrupt, floods their body and spills out of their eyes and mouth. Asra is there to ground them. This happens a few times throughout their life. It can be repressed but it takes a toll on their body.

After the game, RD and Asra have twins, River and Alexandria (Ria). They moved to Nopal when River's powers were causing him to freeze the city as a baby. The desert weather helped regulate his magic. Later in his story, River gets captured and ends up losing his hand. RD was able to rescue him but ended up getting a curse that infected their arms.

Ria also had issues controlling her magic when growing up. Helping her contain her power during an episode, it damaged RD (two streaks of white hair) but they were eventually able to regulate her magic as well. Ria became the ruler of RD's home country when their legacy and history was revealed and RD deposed the previous ruler after they took River.

Later in their lives, the Devil (the arcana) tries to take revenge and RD fights to save their family. RD was able to destroy the ancient entity but Asra loses the remaining half of his soul. He doesnt outright die, but he falls into a coma with no hope of waking up. Julian (the doctor) suggests a vivisection which was immediately shut down by RD. They go to meet their patron arcana, the Strength, to make a deal in order to save Asra. After some arguing, the Strength takes the entirety of RD's powers in exchange for his life which also turned their hair stark white. Overwhelmed with relief, they both break out into sobs.

RD and Asra continued their lives, going to the Winter Ball, participating in the Painted Daisy Festival, running their shop, and so on. Although they miss the convenience of magic, RD does not regret giving up their magic at all. They do have a fear that they won't be able to protect their family anymore but everyone is very capable on their own and take care of their aging nonny. RD needs to be treated for their cursed arms bc it causes them chronic pain since they no longer have to magic to treat it consistently.

In the slide of the twins, River is talking about the goddess (Terra) he met.

Asra looks at RD fondly as he thinks about how he was able to grow old with the love of his life.

omg! ria is finished!

I finished reading chapter 23 the day before yesterday.... As well as I'm now desperate for part 3 of the story!!!

I'm sad that zukka are apart again and again... but glad that sokka is pulling himself together! He looks so much more reliable than he did in the liab days... it's like watching a sapling grow up!

The next thing I'm most excited about is that sokka is finally meeting Katara! The sweetest brother and sister <3
