Had a revelation about Adrien’s adverse reaction when Marinette started acting like a Texan in psychomedian, and now I’m inconsolable. Nobody touch me, I think I require sedating

I literally do not care if they say he’s a widower or it’s simply poor coping skills—unless the man were suddenly possessed by satan himself—no amount of grief can turn someone so callously cruel. I simply do not buy the Jekyll and Hyde narrative.
We’ve been told Gabriel had been a normal parent once...then underwent a drastic personality change after his wife expired.
???????
Adrien’s autonomy and consent have been continuously violated since his inception. He’s unaware of the fact and unsurprisingly blames himself for bending to Gabriel’s will.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His son is crying, on the verge of breakdown—literally begging—and Gabriel is completely unfazed by this distress.
Just as Colt Fathom came to despise/blame Félix for his illness, I suspect Gabriel harbors some degree of resentment towards Adrien due to Emilie’s passing. He may not be conscious of it, but there is a clear undercurrent of spite fueling his behavior.
The series has drawn explicit parallels between the senti-twins. They mirror each other’s pain and story. Félix has experienced cruelty firsthand and I don’t think he would go through so much effort to free his cousin/brother for naught.
(Also, before anyone boards the Emilie-hate bandwagon, please note/recall Félix’s reaction to her portrait. He has strongly held convictions, especially with respect to sentibeings and misuse of the peacock miraculous. I don’t believe he’d feel such fondness toward someone complicit in Adrien’s mistreatment.)

What she says: I’m fine
What she means: The narration in Representation states that “the King, the Queen and the Lord of War” desperately wanted the Good Princess to bear a child, but makes a point to exclude her own wants from the equation. The implication is that Amelie never wanted a child, most likely because she herself was already suffering abuse from Colt and didn’t want to inflict it on another person. Yet Emilie and Gabriel went behind her back anyways, convinced that they could “fix” her shitty marriage for her by giving Colt a doll to play with — not stopping for a second to consider the consequences of their actions. What makes this even more uncomfortable is the use of the pillows to represent baby bumps, implying that the Senticousins were created not as babies, but as fœtus directly into their mothers’ wombs. Meaning Amelie was effectively used by both her parents and her husband as a brood mare (which is fucked up and a pretty ballsy thing to show in a kids’ show), but also that she would likely have had no way of suspecting her child was any different from the others until he figured it out for himself and told her — this would explain why she had trouble believing Gabriel, the only other adult in their remaining family, was evil from the get-go. Most importantly, Amelie was the only person in this whole sect of insane people who never wanted a child, and she was ripped of her bodily autonomy the same way Sentibeings are, and yet. She doesn’t resent Felix at all. In fact, she is consistently seen standing up for him, protecting him, and following his lead even when he comes up with completely batshit crazy plans, because she loves him. She loves him! She loves her son and turned out to be the only decent parent in this entire cult, and I love her, does she know I love her? Someone tell her I love her please —

Oh no! the bunny is torn…😔
I quickly drew a sketch based on the theory that Amelie is the bunny. The theory is quite well known, but I haven’t seen any art based on it.

WAIT A MINUTE
We all know Felix is a theatre kid....but have we ever thought of WHY he's a theatre kid?
What if–and hear me out on this one–what if Felix became a theatre kid because he had to? As in, there was a life-or-death situation, and the only way Felix could get out of it was by taking theatre?
Alright, so as we know, Felix is a sentimonster created by his dad.
Tumblr media
And, as we know, Felix's dad was a bit....abusive.
Tumblr media
And, as we know, Felix knows this too. With the amount of times Felix has had to obey his father, no matter how much he didn't want to, he knew something had to be up. After Colt kept calling him a "monster", over and over again, he realized he was a sentimonster. He just didn't know where the amok was. But after Colt cracked the ring, Felix figured everything out.
Tumblr media
And Colt knew that Felix knew.
And Colt knew that Felix was probably going to tell someone about it. Someone like, possibly, the police. CPS. Both of those are options. And Colt didn't want to get into all of....that.
So he got his ring, and gave Felix an order.
"Don't tell anyone."
And, after that, Felix couldn't. He couldn't tell anyone that he was a sentimonster.
...But that was just it.
Colt Fathom has made a mistake. Because of his jealousy of Adrien, he wanted Felix to be even better. In everything. He had Felix go to school, and Felix graduated at, like, 13. Graduated.
But, Colt, if Felix graduated, that means that he is smart. Smart enough to find a way out of this predicament, out of this little ordeal you put him into. Maybe he can't call CPS on you, and maybe he can't tell anybody that he's a sentimonster.
....At least, not directly.
After this incident with the ring, and with all of the new knowledge Felix now has, he starts looking for loopholes in the commands. He starts finding ways to disobey.
If he can't tell anyone that he's a sentimonster, can he at least heavily imply it?
And so, Felix took theatre. He learned how to sing and dance.. He learned about sets and backdrops, and costumes, and he learned how to act like other people.
And all of his acting paid off in the episode Representation. Felix puts on a play, a good one, too. And it conveys everything it's supposed to. He can't tell Marinette he was created by the peacock miraculous. But he can show it.
Tumblr media
He can't tell Marinette that he had an abusive father. But he can show it.
Tumblr media
He can't tell Marinette that his amok is in the signet ring. But he can show it.
Tumblr media
And, if you're wondering, "But...Felix has his amok now. Right? If he's wearing his ring, why doesn't he just give himself back the ability to tell someone?"
Well, that's because, by that time, he couldn't call CPS on his dad, if he's dead.
He couldn't tell Marinette anything directly, because she hates him. He knows that if he just goes up to her and tells her all of this, she might not believe him.
"But that still doesn't explain why Felix wouldn't just give himself free will to talk about it then. And how would Kagami have found out about it?"
Well, I have answers to both of those questions. Felix might not have known about the amok order. Maybe, Colt gives the order to him, but Felix doesn't know that it was an order. Maybe Felix did attempt calling the police, but he found that he couldn't say anything about his problem. Like there was some invisible force holding him back. And he didn't know what it was.
Maybe the amok orders stayed in place, even though Felix put on the ring. He had the power to take those magical barriers away, but he didn't really know they were there. And how could he take something away if he doesn't know that it exists?
And how did Kagami find out about the whole thing? Well, Felix must have given her the peacock brooch. He had her put it on, and sense the amoks that they were wearing. He had her see that both of them were sentimonsters.
"But why didn't Felix give the miraculous to Marinette, then?" Marinette is Ladybug. If Felix just handed over the brooch, she would take it and run, not even bothering to put it on.
So he had to put on the play to tell her.
It's a loophole.

Do you guys think that Adrien will be able to speak with Gabriel in season 6? Like we know that by using the kwagatama, they can see the past holders of a specific miraculous. So like, if Adrien ever meets up with Nooroo, he can summon up his father or something. And he can actually have some sort of closure. Maybe scream at him. Yell at him for doing so much shit. For leaving him, for abandoning him. Just. Yell and scream at him about everything.
Yeah. I know it’s not gonna happen. I'm really sad we don't get to see Adrien getting a scene like Zuko did with Ozai. But it's fun to imagine. Unless there's a fic out there like this? 👀
(If not, can we please get a scene of Fèlix and Colt. Of Fèlix just pissing him off, and Colt can't do anything about it)

MLB writer's math be like...
Tumblr media
ML writer's math is calling Chloe stans r*pist defenders on Twitter for defending Chloe while being silent about the fact that there are some extreme Felix stans who defend Felix's harassment towards LB
ML writer's math is saying Audrey's abuse doesn't excuse Chloe's horrid actions but proceeds to say Felix did nothing wrong and that his actions SHOULD be excused because his dad abused him, therefore making everything Colt's fault
ML writer's math is saying Lukloe is a toxic ship because it adopts the whole good boy fixing the bad girl trope which they say is unhealthy because Luka shouldn't carry the burden of being Chloe's therapist but proceed to make Feligami canon despite it being the exact same concept but reversed. Felix before Kagami was an anti-hero but after they got together, he is redeemed implying Kagami "fixed him"
ML writer's Math is condemning Colt Fathom for abusing and controlling his son and telling us to feel bad for Felix but when Audrey does the same thing to Chloe in Revolution and I repeat "I'm going to take control of your life again" she isn't held accountable as well and this abusive behaviour is treated as punishment and we shouldn't be feeling bad for her. (Disclaimer: NOT defending Colt because both are awful parents and both are terrible but there is a double standard going on. Felix and Chloe both deserve better parents)
ML writer's Math is calling out Felix's father for the abusive scum he is and recognising him as an abuser but refusing to give similar treatment to Gabriel and Andre who despite not being as bad as Colt when it comes to parenting are still rubbish parents. Why is Colt one of the only parents in the show to be held accountable?
ML writer's math (mainly TA) is being quick to slander some toxic Chloe/Lila stans for their problematic behaviour but when some toxic Maribug/Adrichat/Adrienette have also shown signs of toxic behaviour (e.g what happened to the Lila girl) Thomas Astruc stayed Silent on the matter. Surely a serious matter such as taking one's life should've been addressed by him since he sees himself as an activist and good person on Twitter. He should've known about it since the news of the Lila fan was common knowledge among the fanbase (even Cyrus the Great made a video about this)
Disclaimer : These are just common double standards I've seen in the writing and by TA. Comment more double standards if you know any. Please stay respectful when commenting

okay, but let's bring back the cabbage patch doll babies from earlier this season for a sec. they weren't "real" children either, but the pure love chat noir and ladybug had for them compared to the terrible shit kagami, felix, and adrien's parent have done to them? like when the effect of the wish ended, chat was feral because of how much he loved their kids, even though they had never existed beyond their dreams.
And here? here we have flesh and bone kids who are treated like crap for absolutely no reason at all, other than the fact they want to live their own lives.
tldr: the parent's behavior has nothing to do with the "humanity" or realness of the child and everything to do with the attitude of the parent. the kids being sentis changes nothing

The way Felix makes fun of his abusers is something that can be so personal
In Representation, Colt is portrayed as a ridiculous character, sporting a cowboy hat at all times (even when transformed!) and riding a missile to his own wedding. Yet the following scenes, which depict him verbally and physically abusing his son, remain absolutely terrifying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Similarly, Gabriel exerted his control over the family in multiple ways, including but not limited to threatening to snap his own nephew out of existence, and yet.

This is Felix experiencing catharsis, because these men can’t punish him for it anymore. It’s so refreshing to see a character process their trauma through art and humour, without it being invalidated in any way.
I just love him so much. 💜🦚
