The Angry Street Preacher

A lot of people have been surprised by the knowledge that I am in fact, a Christian. This post is not to begin a debate over the validity of my faith, for you to convince me I'm wrong, or for me to convince you I'm right.. This is to address one major concern someone brought to me on this topic: The Angry Street Preacher. You know the one.. "God hates fags", "Repent or burn for eternity" etc, etc. Understand that THIS is no more a proper representation of Christians than a doctor standing outside McDonalds yelling "You're gonna die if you eat this stuff, FATTY!" is a proper representation of medical professionals. I don't believe that this angry guy on the street is accurately representing my faith any more than my neighbour would agree with the doctor outside McDonalds (my neighbour is a local doctor and not just some random citizen, to clarify).

Again, this post is not to start arguments about the existence of God, the validity of the Bible, or any such topic. This is me simply saying: Do not assume I have adopted the ideas of a radical that you've seen just because the world would say we are "part of the same religion". I love you, God loves you (regardless of your belief on His existence), that angry guy in the street is an idiot.
