Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 Grace is one of God’s most beautiful gifts but one that gets overlooked in a culture where social media is too often weaponized as a tool to publicly condemn our neighbors, no matter how petty the perceived offense. And as much as I try to use social media as a tool to honor God, true grace is designed for face-to-face, in-person interactions. That deeper level of relational connectedness which social media can never replace. In fact, there is not a single human relationship I’ve had that did not at some point require the need for an exchange of grace. I am grateful for the grace others have shown me and am grateful for the moments God has helped me give grace in relationships that were worth sacrificing for. Most of all, I am grateful for the grace God and our Savior have so generously poured into us. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #graceofthelord #gracepouredout #paultheapostle #christianwriter #christianwritingcommunity #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp-IN9hLmUt/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 Do you want to feel truly blessed in your life? The Spirit is waiting to refresh your soul. The older I get, the more I realize my need for its presence and sovereignty in my life. A divine source of goodness and light. Willing and able to lift you above the strife, envy, slander, struggles, and deceit the world and its prince will strive to suck you into. So my prayer for you today—whether you are discouraged, stressed, or downright weary—is that you will be filled with the Spirit, worship, and truth seeking to prosper you into brighter days. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #spiritandtruth #holyspirit #trueworshippers #christianwriters #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CpsDS0GAyxi/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 Contrary to most home decor themes, this verse is not referring exclusively to the power of God-fearing women. It is actually referring to the power of a river. For context: “There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.” (Psalm 50:4-5) Obviously the river is a metaphor, but what is the significance? Rivers were seen in ancient times as an emblem of nature’s bounty. A limitless source of life-giving water without a clear beginning or ending point (before geographical features were fully studied). An ever-flowing stream. The river of Psalm 50 is evocative of similar boundless symbols Jesus articulated later. For instance, the “living water” of John 4 and the “wind” of John 3 that no one knows where it comes from or where it is going Like these other symbols, the “river” of Psalm 50 refers to the abundance of God’s grace through the incomprehensible workings of the Holy Spirit. Limitless, mysterious, and all-powerful. Through its provision, those who it is poured into—much like the New Jerusalem Jesus is bringing to all believers—will not fall. Here in East TN, our weekend was swept by a series of outages which certainly put a damper on a lot of plans. All over the world and throughout the span of human history, our fallen creation is in a constant state of war against forces that seek to constrain and limit us. So isn’t it comforting to know that in the midst of every struggle, we are already being poured into by the one power that is truly limitless? A grace that loves us enough to set our captive world free so that we will never fall again. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #psalm50 #thereisariver #godiswithinher #shewillnotfall #overflowinggrace #christianwriter #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CpaMoxMrjN2/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 Sometimes day to day stressors can get overwhelming. Some days we fall short of the grace we are called to show the world. Some days the best thing to do is to give ourselves a time-out. It’s truly amazing what a little rest can do for your frame of mind. And while I understand and have walked through circumstances when breaks aren’t always possible, I think it is good to remember the important role that times of rest can play in our ability to effectively serve. So whatever pressures hit this week, I pray that you all can find moments of peace and rest that are so critical to renewing your mind and reviving your spirit as we keep our eyes on the prize Jesus is calling us to walk towards. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #taketimeout #restforthesoul #christianwriter #christianblogger #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Co2J_5_L93p/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 Sometimes it is hard to know where we belong. There can be few places that feel like a safe harbor. Strife, conflict, competition, and snares can haunt our every move. The words that we hear in this fallen world do not always bring comfort. Sometimes people hear only what they want to. Sometimes speech is little more than a power play, with winners and losers selected before the first syllable is uttered. But the word of God will never fail or betray you. It is the one unbiased truth that is for you and not against you. It is more than just a safe harbor. It is a well-spring of life that we can grow and abide in. Other people may not want you to be free. Even fellow believers will fall short and disappoint. In fact, many turn away from faith because they look to the words and behavior of imperfect Christians instead of the words of Christ himself. Too many fail to realize that in a world as fallen as ours, there’s nothing else out there any of us can really count on except the Word itself. So if life has ever left you feeling discouraged, disconnected, or disempowered, remember you already have the best source of hope you will ever find. And when you soak in the truth of God’s word nothing will be able take the freedom it brings away from you. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #abideintheword #thetruthwillsetyoufree #christianwriter #christianwritingcommunity #christianblogger #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CokISwXLB_B/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 I don’t know if anyone would describe me as having a heart of stone, but I know my heart has been in need of some spiritual surgery over the years. When I was younger, I loved God but my dreams didn’t always make room for his sovereignty. I loved the glitter of the shiny idols that I’d been socialized into believing were the emblems of success. But as I entered into mid-life a few years ago I found myself struggling between two different doctrines. According to the worldly doctrine or the image of the American dream I had conjured in my youth, I was coming up short. The life I pictured back when I was in school hadn’t entirely turned out the way I’d planned. My road had already hit its share of bumps and there was little hope of any smoother paths around the next turn. But according to the Word that had steered me through every obstacle, I was stronger than ever. And none of those worldly trappings I had yearned for had ever been the things I could count on when it counted most. None of them could help my daughter when she was sick. None of them could offer any comfort or answers when I prayed. Because a heart that pleases God will rarely please the world. But wisdom comes from knowing which goals to strive for, and will free you from the burden of serving two masters. So my prayer for you this week is to let go of all the stony burdens that are weighing you down and let God give you a better heart that is quenched by his peace. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #anewheart #removeyourheartofstone #aheartofflesh #sundayscripture #christianwriter #christianblogger #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CoSCQPprHTc/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 No matter what comes our way this week, it helps to remember we already have the greatest treasure life can offer. Our treasure is not the kind easily seen by the world. It is not the standard the world measures us by. It is hidden in jars that the world only sees the outside of. And it is all too easy to get caught up in the clay the world assigns value to. But we have the greatest goodness in the universe already living within us. Investing in our spiritual treasures will not always set us up for worldly approval—indeed, it rarely does. Investing in our spiritual treasures will not always make our lives easier or the path ahead smoother—indeed, it rarely does. But investing in our spiritual treasures will set us free to follow our one true guide above all the voices competing for our allegiance. It will empower us to break the deceptive strongholds the enemy holds the world captive by, and will give us eternal riches no one can take away. So no matter what happens this week, remember you are bringing your treasure with you, enriching not only your own soul, but the kingdom it was created for. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #treasureinjarsofclay #spiritualriches #christianwriters #christianwriter #christianblogger #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn__oV1ACvh/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 Have you ever been grieved by the choices others make? Have you ever wished you could control the outcome of a trajectory you’d rather not see come to fruition? I confess that I have wasted too much emotional energy over the years allowing the poor decisions and misplaced priorities of others to disrupt my inner peace. If it is hard for us to let go of that need for control, how much more forbearance does it take for our Heavenly Father to give us the generous gift of free will? And as much as those of us whose remembered to attend to our own lamps would like to help those who neglected theirs, we have to learn to let go and trust that God has already given us all have the same opportunities to choose. He has not withheld his anointing oil from a single living soul. Choosing the oil means choosing a light of hope to shine through you and within you. Choosing the oil means not allowing the darkness to overcome you, or allowing the road to regret another freely chose to overtake your own. Choosing the oil does not obligate us to a life of codependency. It is a living testimony to the freeing power of faith. One we can walk humbly but confidently in until our bridegroom returns. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #keepyourlampsfull #sharelightsaveoil #letgoletgod #christianwriter #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CnuhzHDLjYq/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 Although we live in a broken and fallen world, God’s desire is to help and strengthen us. The enemy tries to make us forget this with lies that we too often believe. The enemy lies about God to break our loyalty to him. He tries to convince us that God doesn’t love or care for us enough, his power isn’t great enough to help us, his commandments are arbitrary and oppressive, and our lives would be better if we were in charge — the masters of our own universe. The enemy also lies about us to hurt the power of our anointing. He whispers into our thoughts that we are unworthy, that nothing we do will come to a good end, that we have nothing of value to offer, and that there is no escape from the evil we suffer. But God knows the goodness of the souls he created within us, he knows the sureness of his power, the perfection of the restored world he has invited us to join him in, and he is strong enough to help us overcome every attack of the enemy, even death itself. So if life has been beating you down, remember that you have a helper who will seek you and strengthen you every day. All we have to do is remember to turn away from the lies that hinder us and step into the light of his victorious truth. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #sundayscripture #2chronicles16v9 #theeyesofthelord #stengthingod #christianwritingcommunity #christianwriters #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Cnb_u7wLo2u/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends, how can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 Whether you are starting 2023 with renewed energy or a place of struggle, you have a helper who is always faithful and will never leave your side. Sometimes it’s easy to forget how much we are cared for. That every step is followed and every hair is numbered. Wherever life takes you this week, I pray that you can remember to lean on the one who always walks beside you. The one who will not let any barrier prevent him from seeing you, hearing you, and believing in you. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #neveralone #neverforsaken #hebrews13 #bibleverses #2023scriptures #christianwriter #christianwritingcommunity #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CnKB_bOrRr3/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

New Year’s Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week and this New Year? 🙏💗 The best part of a new year is the feeling of hope: having a clean slate, new chances, and a new opportunity. But when we remember where our true hope comes from, it is easier to be much more confident in our future. Because the surest foundation of hope in any year we welcome is faith. And if you’d like a condensed New Year’s read for how faith can build a life of honor and blessing, I recommend taking a minute to read Hebrews 11. There, Paul describes examples of faith heroes that can inspire all of us in our future horizons. From Abel, Enoch, and Noah to Abraham, Sarah, Jacob, and Joseph. Moses, Joshua, and Rahab. And a list of many others. Paul beautifully summarizes the promises God fulfills to those who walk by faith. So more than a single day or year, I challenge each of us to pursue the greater rewards reaped by a life led by faith and the promise of the new day that is dawning for all of us. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #walkbyfaith #newyearblessings #hebrews11 #christianwriter #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm4F15lrArJ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Christmas Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗🎄 Whatever point in your life that it finds you, Christmas is a special reminder that you do have a gift of immeasurable value given to you by your Heavenly Father. First of all, do not forget the gift of your own life. You are not here by accident or mistake. You are here because God loved you, wanted you, needed you, and created you out of his perfect will. Your life is a gift and you are, too. Second, he gave us the gift of his son. Immanuel. Prince of Peace. King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Because we love a God who was not content to sit on his heavenly throne and let us come to Him. We love a God who loves us enough to come to us in our brokenness, our loneliness, our suffering, and our sin. He came to show us that we are seen. He came to tell us that we are heard. He came to sacrifice so we could be saved into his beautiful kingdom. But most of all he came to live with us, for us, and in us because he loves us just that much. And love never fails. ✨ #SundayBlessings #Christmas2022 #ChristmasBlessings #prayerrequests #luke2 #untousasaviorisborn #christthelord #christianwriter #christianwritersofinstagram #christianwritingcommunity #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Cmm9YImLqOh/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends? How can I pray for you this busy holiday week? 🙏💗 In a season where so much seems to be spinning out of control, it helps to take a moment to remember whose control our futures really reside in. Although we will not see Jesus on earth again until he comes on the clouds with “King of Kings and Lord of Lords” written on his garments, believers can all look forward to the day when we stand before his throne in the paradise he has prepared for us. A land of beauty and majesty where angels sing praises to our king. A land we are promised to inherit as priests and kings where our gifts will finally be unleashed without a single hindrance of the enemy. A place where a faithful servant on earth may find themselves in charge of one, five or ten cities (Luke 19:16). So my prayer for you this week is should there be any moments when the worldliness of this holiday gets you down, just remember to look up and give thanks for the greatest gift we could ever imagine. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #advent #kingofkings #lordoflords #priestsandkings #christianwriter #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CmULvZKLiT1/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 Of the many names for the Christ we celebrate this season, one of the most comforting is “Prince of Peace.” This does not mean that celebrating his birth will magically make peace reign on earth in this present age. But it is a promise that the war the prince of this world continues to wage against us will end once and for all. A prophecy of victory for our true Prince and his reign that shall herald a perfect government of justice, righteousness, and peace forever. Advent’s Good News of the true hope to come. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #advent #princeofpeace #christianwriter #christianwritingcommunity #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CmB_3WarLdn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 Immanuel. God with us. If there is one reason to celebrate the arrival of our Christ this season I believe it is summed up in one of the most beautiful of his many names. God with us. With us here. With us now. Unfiltered. With our darkness and our mess. Our sin and shame. With every sickness that has ever preyed upon our bodies or minds. Still. He gave us Immanuel. Before there was ever John 3:16. Before the details of Satan’s defeat and the new Eden was ever given to the apostle John, a strange prophet under the reign of Hezekiah received a promise 700 years ahead of its fulfillment. Immanuel. God with us. Even after we left him the first chance we got in the garden. Even though we have forgotten and forsaken him every day since the dawn of our creation. Even though we are continually duped by the enemy’s worst lie of all—which is not to bow to Satan—but to believe that God has already bowed out of the tragic elements of our story. A lie we renounce in the name God gave unto us. Immanuel. He IS with us. Always has been. Always will be. No matter what we’ve done or how dark the stretch of horizon before us looms. God with us. Never forgotten us. And will come back for us. All we have to do is believe. ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #immanuel #godwithus #advent #christianwriter #christianblogger #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Clv0s2QLBks/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sunday blessings, friends! How can I pray for you this week? 🙏💗 As we wrap up Thanksgiving festivities and begin the preparation season of advent, striving for a spirit of peace can help us all avoid unnecessary strife. As idyllic as we’d like the holiday season to be, it is also a time of tension and stress for many families. But if we remember that the Christ whose life we are honoring called us to be peacemakers, it can put a lot of problems into perspective. While we all wish the holidays would bring out the best in us, we all know that this seldom squares with reality. But if we can at least put aside the temptation to indulge in pride, petty competitions, and greed—some of the biggest poisoners of peace—while giving grace to those who struggle (since we all do), we can pave a much smoother path for ourselves and our families in the days and weeks ahead. Because it is my prayer and hope that each one of us can be blessed by some measure of the true gifts of the season, including peace on earth and goodwill to men! ✨ #SundayBlessings #prayerrequests #blessedarethepeacemakers #peaceonearth #goodwilltoall #holidayreflections #christianwriter #cainspirations #kristicainbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Cld_pq5L1ke/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
