TEN LEE

Prologue: How far will things go with this random guy you met online? It might not always be as simple.

Genre: Fluff + Social Media AU

Wordcount: 1,808

Warnings: Mild language

It wasn't too long ago since you started stalking this one account, banana_brushes. All their feed ever had to offer was art, which was probably their own, and cats, which you assumed were also theirs. You were sure you had seen a hundred other profiles updating with the same thing, but this just felt different from day one.

You still consider yourself very lucky though, the astonishment on your face was very real the day the same user slid into your DMs. No, you never interacted with any of their posts so there was no chance of getting caught, all you ever did was simply view.

"Hey there, I hope I'm not being annoying but would you let me know what medium did you use for the watery thing effect in your last post?" You thought it was a genuine query, which it was, making you leave an immediate reply.

"Thanks, I run an art account too, though."

It was from that very moment you started talking with this random guy online. In a week or more the talks matured from arts and cats to somewhat general ones, you see, how any two strangers would get to know each other.

The two of you now held deep conversations, as time passed. Even though it was only via typing on a social media platform. Maybe it was due to the fact that you knew things would always stay anonymous. There was an absolute zero possibility of seeing or meeting him in the flesh, your real identities would never be revealed, thus blessing you with the freedom to not hold back any opinions, or to spit out whatever the fuck your heart wanted you. You knew you could always block him or report him if things ever went south. To you, it was so much better than having to interact with real-life people. Yeah, call it living in a fake world or whatever, but at least this was something that made you feel at ease.

Your conversations with banana_brushes still continued as smoothly as a rom-com movie, and it was not until this fine evening that you started to see him in a different light.

Your attention was diverted to your notifications as soon as you came home from a trashy day of work, it was him again, and you didn't know for what reason in the heavens, it made you smile.

"Since I've never seen you, I drew what I think you would look like."

He captioned a picture with another one of his works, which he made keeping you in mind, making your lips curve themselves again. Just pondering over the thought that a person did put in some sort of effort while thinking of you was beyond precious, provided the fact that he was not "real". You never saw him, let alone meet him in the flesh. The art piece was phenomenal, as expected. He really knew his brushes. It was not like he traced an angel onto the canvas, it was what anyone would label as "ordinary" but maybe that was what made you resonate with it in a flash of a second.

"Hmm, well full marks for the effort, and that's actually quite pretty! thanks." You replied back without wasting a minute.

"And, I kind of think I look better than that." You teased him, and the text was sent along with a tongue-out winking emoji.

"Oh! I would have no clue." He was still typing as you glued your eyeballs to the screen. "The only thing I have ever seen is your art."

With a raised eyebrow, you ran your fingers across your keypad. There was no way you were going to let this sassy stranger win.

"The only thing I have ever seen is your cats". With this, you dropped your phone onto the bed. This was one of the many perks of talking to people online, disconnecting at any time you felt like.

The next morning was nothing special. The same cycle of waking up, getting ready, and leaving for work. There were times you really sat and pondered something interesting happening in your life, at least for once as you sipped on your coffee. Life was no better than the stagnant lake waters.

The last time you remember having an adrenaline rush was probably the night before your job interview. It has been two years since then.

"No way in fucking hell!" You cursed under your breath, making sure you blinked a dozen times and pinching yourself.

You took quick steps towards the table, grabbing the canvas in your hands. It was the same that the Instagram guy sent you last night. What on earth was it doing here at your office? Did he manage to track your address down? What if he were a creep? Oh, how could you ever be so stupid to forget the dark side of this alluring internet?

It also seemed like your morning wish had come true, for the adrenaline hormone kicked it, along with this strange feeling in your gut.

"Excuse me?" You heard a voice from behind, you turned back out of reflex, with a pale face and mouth hanging open.

The man looked at you with an uncomfortable stare, pointing to the article you held in your hands. "Ummm, that?" He questioned. Did it by any chance belong to him? For the sake of God, let it be his.

"Ten?" You asked in disbelief.

"You know me?" He inquired back, with a change of tone.

Of course, you knew him. Even though this was the first face-to-face interaction you both had had in the last two years, you were well aware of his presence.

"If I'm not wrong, you are Y/N? I think I've seen you at the cafeteria a few times, you're a part of the-"

"Wait, you have cats?" You cut his unnecessary words off.

He was taken aback, how did you come to know about his precious babies? Before he could comprehend, you thew another question on his way. "And since when do you draw?" This guy was not understanding a thing, his face showed that he could not make out, as though you spoke Greek.

There was no time to waste. You hurriedly rummaged through your tote bag, pulling out your phone.

"User banana underscore brushes?" You flashed your Instagram screen right before his eyes, which kept on getting wider and wider.

"User i know my underscore brushes?" He took a long breath, nodding his head. "That was you?" He reciprocated the same reactions you displayed about a minute ago.

"Now you know embarrassing things about me! Hold on you also know my life problems?! Please don't tell the boss I called him a dick the other day!" He blurted out in a single breath, eyes wandering from left to right at the speed of light, palming his face out of embarrassment.

But it was not only you that had this advantage, texts had always been mutual.

"Only if you don't tell him that it was me who changed the PPT link to that of Dora the Explorer last week, and also just ignore all the bitching I've ever done about this place." You declared, resting your hands on your hips.

"What the fuck? That was you!?" He burst into a shrill laugh.

"Huh?" You exclaimed.

"I mean that was super fun, also, I won't tell anyone. Deal?" His offer only made sense.

"Deal!" You raised your hand up, earning a high-five from him.

Before you could go back and continue with your otherwise boring day, ten interrupted. "Y/N!"

"You're good at drawing and stuff." This came out of nowhere, why was he trying to make it awkward?

"Thanks, you've told me that before, and so are you!" You shined a tooth-wide smile as you turned back again, signalling your leave.

"Do you have any pets?" He asked abruptly, as though he had been caught with a gun near a corpse.

"I already told you that I did not." You laughed awkwardly again.

"Then let's go get some coffee." Ten offered.

"Right now?" This was not a confirmation from your side but a denial. You stood there as you looked at him with a confused face again.

Confusion has reigned supreme in this scenario throughout.

He took out his phone with the Kuromi phone grip out of his back pocket, his fingers were running like crazy, and there were visible beads of sweat on his forehead. You thought he had just offered you coffee.

You too started to do the same, smartphones turned out to be lifesavers in awkward situations.

The first thing you noticed was the unseen messages from Ten yesterday, you must have ignored them last night until it turned out they were not meant to be ignored.

Ten, on the other hand, buried his face in his palms, not having the courage to face you, he was too late, by now you had read it all.

"You what?" You questioned in disbelief. "Yo-you have a crush on me?"

He was ready with an explanation even before you finished. "I think it's a bit more than that now that I know who you are, Y/N." He expressed, his tone sincere, looking at you directly and making eye contact with you.

He shook his head. "I'm sorry Y/N I did not want to let you know like this, who confesses like this-"

He talked a lot, and you were cutting him off, a lot.

You took steps closer, inches away from his body, holding him by the shoulders, trying to lean closer.

"Are-are you going to kiss me now?" He stammered.

"May I?" You asked.

Ten nodded before shutting his eyes. You did the same and brought yourself closer, his awkward hands held you by the waist. The touch was sweet, creating a tingling sensation in your body. No, this was not your first kiss, but it sure felt special.

It felt like the blow on a wound, comforting. It felt like a scratch on the neck, satisfying, and it felt like a glass of wine, soothing.

You caressed his pink lips with your thumb as you pulled back.

"Does this mean you like me back?" He asked with curious eyes and now you could clearly appreciate his cat-like features. Soft, yet sharp.

"I think it means that most of the time, so yeah." You said.

"Makes sense." Ten giggled, his sassy self seemed to have melted away with one kiss.

"Also" he continued "That painting stands nowhere in front of you, you're way prettier." He remarked with a subtle smile.

"No no please this doesn't suit you!" You hit his hand playfully before the laughter erupted between you two once again.

Finally, in the midst of a boring life, a bright spot.

ten? the boy whom hates fruits w a fuming flame? what happens when he meets the girl who works at the local juice bar? hMMmm (warning: this is about to be the most cheesiest+extrA thing ever but omg bUT IDC LESGOOO LOL)

✭ ten is a man who despises fruits more than anything in his life

✭ this is literally fact #6 in the 1st chapter of the FACT BOOK

✭ i mean everybody and their momma’s know that ten despises fruits, he can drink fruit juice, but if it’s raw fruit ….. bye sweetie!

✭ he was the kid that always picked fries instead of fruits for the side in his happy meal

✭ and tbh, he’ll always be like that at heart

✭ but his best friend johnny literally is the opposite

✭ kiddo who would always order the fruits, and even snatched the fruit in other’s happy meal when they weren’t looking, the fries who ?? kid

✭ and tbh, he’ll always be like that at heart too

✭ so whenever johnny and ten had a day of rehearsing or recording ahead of them w the rest of da boys, they would almost always make a stop at the local juice bar in the morning

✭ which of course, always resulted in a thicc groan from ten bc where’s the green tea

✭ which always resulted in a retort from johnny saying “well they have gReeN aPple smOoThiEs iF yOu aCtuAlLy liKed fRuitS”

✭ they always had (yes, h a d) to go to that particular juice bar because not only was it convenient since the sm building was right next to it

✭ but also to avoid them having to buy completely new phones bc the rest of the boys were actually blowing their phones up if they didn’t get what they wanted, which johnny didn’t want bc the boy’s already dropped his phone enough give him a break boys lol:(

✭ doyoung: guys, are you at the juice bar?

✭ ten: no

✭ johnny: no

✭ renjun: no i saw them leave!

✭ johnny: no guys we’d have to drive like 30 minutes back to get your drinks

✭ as for johnny and ten, if they didn’t already cop their coffee elsewhere, they would always order the same ol thing and luckily, this place was one of those places that was technically a juice bar, buuuuut ofc it had other stuff like milkshakes, smoothies, etc- but hey not complaining thO

✭ so johnny’s usual: tbh he doesn’t have 1 bc when i tell u that the boy is a full on beverage (and coffee) connoisseuR-

✭ ten’s usual: a plain yogurt smoothie with 2 lil muffins (well actually it’s not really a muffin … it’s lowkey a lil cupcake but ten likes to call it muffin, so if he says it’s a muffin, muffin it is amirite)

✭ and usually the workers at the place memorized their orders AND the rest of the members by now bc of how often they came, so they wouldn’t even have to tell em! would ya look at that

✭ however on this particular day, there was one worker who had never looked so confused in her whole life

✭ who is this confused as hELL gal u ask????

✭ correct! yes sweetie, it’s you :’)

✭ it was your first shift at the juice bar and honestly you were sO NERVOUS

✭ but luckily, your coworkers were p chill and nice and willing to help you out whenever you needed !! yay 4 friendly coworkers

✭ you were spacing out, listening to the music they had faintly playing in the background as you waited for the first customers to come in for what felt like forever

✭ well, it was 6am afterall

✭ snapping you out of your daydream or morning dream whatever tf you wanna call it, your coworker eagerly shook the absolute hell out of your arm and started whisper-yelping

✭ ”oh my god they’re back!”

✭ ”what? who?”

✭ ”oh my god! this is the best morning of my life!”

✭ “you’re freaking me out what are y-”

✭ “joHNNY AND TEN ARE-”

✭ before you could ask anything else, literally all your coworkers scrambled to their stations and started making smoothies like their life depended on it and you’re like uhhHHH wtf are y’all doiN

✭ but that’s when you glanced up at the two boys walking in, and you honestly were stunned for a hot minute

✭ you knew who they were, of course you did, everyone did are u KIDDING

✭ but you literally wanted to pinch yourself because they legitimately looked like WALKING 3D SIMS W/ ALL THE PRETTY CC LOL

✭ prettiest boys you’ve ever seen with your own two eyes? you betcha!

✭ they weren’t even looking at the menu, but rather their phones and you could hear them groan lmAo and believe me you tried your best not to stare at them, but your eyes were like what did u say? disregard what u just said and continue to stare? okay!

✭ luckily a few moments later, they finally stopped groaninG and went to the front to order

✭ ”good morning! what can i get for you?” you asked johnny w the biggest smile you could muster up from your immense lack of sleep from the first day nerves… and oh! also! how could i forget, the iNTENSE nervousness of talking to these 2 sims lmao

✭ there was a silence in the air bc your coworkers were trying to stop from revealing their giddyness, but tragically failing which made johnny and ten lose focus and laugh ever so cutelY about it

✭ ”i’ll have a strawberry milkshake wiiiith….” johnny said, tapping his finger on the counter debating whether or not if it was too early for a sugar rush (also yes, he did just order a milkshake at 6 in the morning. did someone say ICON)

✭ ”whipped cream?” you asked which made johnny bust out the biggest smile

✭ ”how’d you know!”

✭ ”oh come on, a shake without whipped cream? that even sounds wrong”

✭ ”you read my mind!” johnny said in between laughs and handed you the amount of money for the coffee

✭ at this point tbh you didn’t feel that nervous anymore surprisingly, like something about johnny just made you feel sO comfy?? he was so friendly and welcoming bIH HE’S AMAZIN

✭ and yup, just when you thought your nerves were gonna pack their bags and go tf home ….. ten pops out from behind johnny like one of those wind up toys w/ the jumpscare just waiting to happen

✭ as soon as you saw him, your nerves literally said LMAO U THOUGHT, OUR FLIGHT ISN’T UNTIL TOMORROW

✭ you finally met eyes with him, and you swear to gOD that he hypnotized you

✭ what were those …. galaxies in his eyes ??? they sparkled just like the stars did

✭ and little did u know, ten was like muffin who ??? he didn’t even know what the hell that was, he was too busy thinking about how pretty u weRE

✭ also did i mention that ten is literally your biggest crush? no? OOPS OK ANYWAYS

✭ ”s-sorry” you managed to blurt out with the shyest smile ever, followed by regret bc you realized you lowkey blew your cover lol

✭ ”what can i get for you?”

✭ ”i’ll have 2 double chocolate chip muffins please” he said with the cutest smile ugh

✭ “oh and one of those macaroons! the chocolate one” he added, standing on his tippytoe’s to point over the glass im:(((

✭ ten’s smile never left his face and the more you looked at him, you noticed how confident n not shy he was, so you were like HHHHokay y/n, you gotta step tf UP DON’T U DARE TURN INTO A RED ASS APPLE

✭ oh and speaking of apples

✭ just a lil after you took ten’s order, you heard footsteps coming up from behind you

✭ you’d recognize those scary high heel clicks anywhere hHH your manager was coming to check on how you were doing

✭ and with a cringe to your eyebrows, you huffed and gave in before you could get in trouble on your first day

✭ ”oh, would you guys like to try our new morning … madness smoothie?” you asked them as u could practically feel the manager burning a hole into your head by how intensely they were glaring at yoU

✭ oof you cringed at the damn name of the thing, they sure did notice and started piecing 2 and 2 together

✭ just when you thought you’d done your part of promos, your manager “AHEM”’d you, signaling that you, indeed, were wrong again

✭ “uh- it has strawberries, apples, oranges-”

✭ as you were listing the painstakingly lengthy ingredients to them, ten’s expression changed from that cute lil smile, to an almost in pained, scared look?? OMG

✭ but to your surprise when you were done reciting the declaration of independence, he piped up with a quick ”sure!”

✭ both you and johnny looked at each other with this shook (is that still a thing?bye) expression at his sudden excited tone, johnny looking more “what the fick???” than you were

✭ before you could even say anything, ten slid over his money to a very much confused you, nodding with a look that read ‘go ahead hun’ :’(

✭ you did your thang on the register, and in the bg you could hear your manager walking back into the back-room, which made you make an obvious huff of relief

✭ ”dude why’d you order that?” you managed to hear johnny whisper to ten

✭ ”mm?”

✭ ”you-”

✭ ”hyung, shhh it’s okay” ten said a lil too loud

✭ ”hm?” you piped in, curious as to why they were bickering in asmr

✭ you noticed ten patting johnny’s back, but almost in a way where he was like ‘don’T SPILL THE TEA’ you know what i mean? but they both just shook their heads to you w/ a smile, reassuring you it was ‘nothing’

✭ as you and your coworkers worked on their orders, ngl you’d occasionally glance over at them and it legit looked like they were sharing some kinda juicy secreT bc whenever you’d look, johnny always had this cheeky smile on his face looking at ten

✭ after you finished their orders and your coworkers finished the rest of the memorized members orders, you called them up to get them in which they hurriedly rushed to the counter in the softest way (idk how them walking could be soft BUT IT IS)

✭ ”thank you!” they said in unison, making the lil awk tension break again

✭ they grabbed their drinks and food which made u kinda :( bc when will u see them again -sigh-

✭ ten looked at his phone, checking the time you assumed bc when he put his phone back in his pocket he looked #panickedt

✭ ”ah hyung we’re gonna be late. well, thanks again!” ten said to you, definitely not forgetting to shoot you another heart clenching smile

✭ “thank you, have a nice day guys!” you smiled back

✭ then you shared that same look from before, all heart stricken and iSH OOF, ten had to snap out of it quick or else the rest of the members would kick his booty for being late

✭ ten wasn’t one to be shy of showing his feelings, like he absolutely thought you were beautiful and he couldn’t help but lük, but the manager was gonna pop off if they didn’t leave so-

✭ ”you go ahead, i gotta get the straws real quick” johnny called out to him before the door closed to the juicery

✭ you handed him a straw from behind the counter to him, which he shook his head at ??????

✭ johnny gave you this certain look and you just knew what it meant, see from the get-go y’all had a bond!1

✭ johnny sensed the tension between you and ten the second he ordered, like it was undeniably obvious and he knew you knew, and you knew that he knew, and he knew that you knew that he-

✭ he laughed and leaned over the counter, and in the most nonchalant, yet all-telling tone he said:

✭ at first you really didn’t think anything of it other than the fact that he was trying 2 be a sweetie pie, but your coworkers who so eagerly were bombarding you with screenshots in your work gc (they were your mini nct skhH) strongly disagreed

✭ “OP asked Ten about why he got fruit at the juice bar, and he just looked at her and smiled, and said ‘shhhhh’?”

✭ “OP asked Ten if he liked fruit now since he recently bought some, and he replied immediately ‘no no no, of course not’ ?!”

✭ one word…… WHY

✭ not only did you have all these tweets flowing in to convince you otherwise, you just remembered what johnny said to you before he left and nOW you’re like ……. okay what tf is up, it’s just fruit what is going on, why and where-

✭ oof you just couldn’t wrap your head around as to why it was such a big deal online, and it was truly bugging you and it’s not like you could ask them again what he meant

✭ 1, because you were too shy n nervous to

✭ 2, because you didn’t know if they would come back to the shop

✭ deep sighs all around my dude :(((

✭ those two always went to that shop, mostly in the mornings you heard

✭ and since you’d been working a little under a month there now, your boss started to schedule you for shifts where you didn’t need a supervisor anymore, which were 12 times out of 10 in the evening bc they were always lacking on those shifts

✭ so honestly, you haven’t worked a morning shift since your first day, the day you saw ya boys

✭ ........... (yes u knew this was comin)

✭ until one of your coworkers had to call off last minute on their shift and you were the worker they called in, that is ;))))

✭ boi when u got the call to come in, you got so !!!!! because what if you saw them again

✭ you missed them, johnny was so funny and you felt like you guys got along so easily almost instantly

✭ and ten, he’d always been your crush even before you talked to him, so that whole thing- your heart never failed to yodEl whenever you thought about him

✭ yes, they were idols, and yes you had been a fan, yes the encounters were short and probably seemed small to others

✭ but you couldn’t help it, ya know?

✭ anywho, the morning came for you to take on that shift and man were u nervous lmao

✭ when you got to work, literally only one other coworker was there with you

✭ as soon as you flipped that sign on the door from closed to open, OOO IT WAS GAME TIME

✭ the game plan: if they come back, try your best to ask them, i mean u gotta at least try, especially since the whole twitter thing AND let’s not forget why johnny felt the need to tell you what he did, you hAd to know

✭ the morning went slow, and it was raining too, so it was slower than usual since rainy days were obviously chill in dayzzz

✭ so you just tidied up around the place and waited, even did that thing people do in the movies where they look out the window while it’s raining while a slow song is playing in the bg …… except you were just staring out the window from the counter to the pop that was playing in the shop lol

✭ it wasn’t until mid 7 am that people started coming where you could finally stop acting like you were in a dilemma in the newest drama

✭ it was pretty steady then, you took orders, made them, served them, then tidied up, daydreamed out the window, basically on repeat for the rest of your shift

✭ you were on lunch break FINALLY, you swore u were gonna pass out from boredom if you heard the same pop song you daydreamed to three times already

✭ you sat along the chairs on the side of the shop, just sipping your drink, going through your phone awaiting the time for your rinse and repeat routine to get back into play *sigh*

✭ the quiet aura of the shop suddenly got interrupted as the bell rang chAoTically, followed by the squeakiest footsteps

✭ ”hyung, we shoulda brought two umbrellas”

✭ ”it’s not my fault i was blessed with this heavenly height”

✭ ”oof”

✭ your head perked up as you heard those voices, those familiar voiceS U MISSED :(

✭ you looked over and there you saw them :(

✭ ten and johnny :( right there :(

✭ their hair was just a little dampened from the rain, little water droplets on their cheeks, and their typical banter :(

✭ then all of a sudden you remembered the pact you made to yourself; “if you see them again, you gotta at least try to ask them” or else you’d forever be mAd at yourself

✭ the thing is, how tf are you gonna get their attention ??

✭ like do you just walk up to them like ‘hey!!!’ ??? like you weren’t even sure if they even would remember you omg

✭ oh lordt you could hear their voices getting closer and closer, why did it have to be raining and why did people have to camp out here for the free wiFI, there were like 5 seats open and they just so happened to be next to you wHY

✭ next thing ya know, you heard them sit to the side of you, just a few seats down

✭ ”where are they?”

✭ ”dunno, they said they’re coming”

✭ ”they said that 10 minutes agO”

✭ ”aish lucas”

they worked as lawyer because their parents forced them to, but whenever they're stressed, they goes to their wife.

His wife Lili was an Engineer (her parents forced her too 😔) and didn't really have time, but she's a GOD at time management, so they always find time for each other.

They loved each other so much to the point where they were inseparable, but one fine day, Lili's grandma got sick, so she had to go back to her origin country, India, which is very stinky.

atlas couldn't go with them because Lili is a worrywart & she didn't want her sick, so sadly, atlas had to let go of her for a month or so.

It's already been 3 weeks, atlas missed her a lot.

They facetimed eachother, even though the timings were wacky.

Anyways, back to the story.

One fine day, Lili forgot to call them (before coming @ her, she was tired af), so atlas got mad & went to the local club.

Desperate Much?

Pairings: Ten x Reader.

Theme: fluff, angst, hurt, comfort, family, sad, happy ending. (Life is still going on)

Characters: Ten, Taeyong, Mark, Donghyuck, Jeno.

Word Count: 2k

Ten wasn't like his 'brothers'. Infact he wasn't ever their brother, he was their cousin. His dad was the one who inherited the family business and had settled with him and his mother in Thailand to branch out.

He had a happy and perfect life with both of his parents, but that was untill they both died unexpectedly in a car accident when he was eleven. And suddenly everything in his life was changing. He had to move to Korea to live with his uncle and his children, his father's buisness was now his uncle's buisness until Ten was old enough to take over. Until he could legally take over. He had to learn a different language, make new friends and start his life all over again in a very dysfunctional family.

He remembered the constant yelling between Mr.Lee and Mrs.Lee, having to sit by himself during those times when Taeyong would take his younger brothers Mark and Jeno and hide in his room, he remembered how Donghyuck would cry under the scrutinizing gaze of Mrs.Lee as she fought with Mr.Lee and the boy was stuck there not able to escape, the loss of the joys of family dinners that he was used to, the loneliness he felt. That was when he met you. You were his only friend in this country and even though he could barely talk to people you tried your best to talk to him despite the language barrier.

You were cheerful and jovial and very very clingy but he didn't mind that. You ate lunch with him and helped him with his Korean. You even made sure to stick by his side with the excuse of him being new here so he wouldn't get lost months after he arrived.

You were a blessing in disguise to him especially since it was so awkward with his cousin Taeyong at home and at school.

Time flew fast and a year had passed and he could speak and write Korean way better than before and lucky for him you were still stuck to his side.

In those trying times you were his only semblance of joy. The times in which Mark wouldn't talk at all, the times in which Taeyong would go around at the ripe age of twelve and hurt people with words so sharp that they would leave the school, when all Jeno did was look upto Taeyong and when Donghyuck started to act out getting himself in trouble so bad that he could have almost lost his life but no one cared.

It hurt Ten to watch all this happen but not being able to do anything about it because no matter how well he got along with the youger two, Taeyong would always pull his brothers away from him and take them to his room and well Donghyuck, he wouldn't talk to anyone at home.

But unfortunately all he could do was get used to this awful life, glad that you would quietly listen to him rant and then lighten his mood up with something silly.

He was mid rant one day when he spoke about how much he missed 'family dinners' that you interrupted him, "Why don't you have a dinner with your cousin's?" Ten scoffed at you and shut that idea down immediately but when he came home and saw how far apart everyone was he decided there and then that's what was needed.

So he forced Mark out of his room and away from his books, he pryed Donghyuck away from his bed, he bribed Taeyong and Jeno just followed his eldest brother and thats how he found himself at the diner table for the first time ever since his parents passed away.

"I used to eat dinner like this with my parents" he spoked but Taeyong glared at him, "I don't care"

"Look you want to be a brat be a brat but at the dinner table all feuds are forgotten and all hatred is gone, food is supposed to be consumed happy"

"What did your parents say that?" Taeyong asked, rolling his eyes.

"Nope y/n did!" Ten said with a cheeky smile, "Now c'mon dig in"

And so there started their first meal together with everyone silently serving themselves, "So we usually talk about our day at the dinner table" Ten smiled his eyes crinkling into two half moons. "I know none of you will say anything so I'll start, Teacher Park yelled at me for correcting him on his Korean today. I was so pissed" Taeyong snorted at that, "Yea that old geezer is weird"

"I know I don't like him either" Donghyuck spoke and Taeyong glared at him but Ten cleared his throat loudly and Taeyong sighed muttering an inaudible apology.

"I placed a fart cushion on his chair today" Donhyuck grinned proudly and collective snorts were heard across the table and Jeno chocked on his food as Taeyong patted the younger boys back. Mark was still eating quietly. Then Donghyuck frowned, "But he didn't like that..." He then put out his hands showing everyones his palms, "So he took me out of the classroom and hit me" Tens heart sank at the red bruises on the boys hands and Taeyong was glaring again but this time it wasn't at Donghyuck, "How dare that old rat hit a seven year old child like that" the eldest growled. But Donghyuck only smiled, "It's okay I'm used to it" he said and Tens heart broke at that statement and by the looks of it so did Taeyongs.

Something shifted between the boys that night and they all knew it. Ten came to school the next day boasting to you about the success of his first family dinner and how excited he was for the next one tomorrow.

He even told you the story Donghyuck had told him not knowing what to do and that very day you got detention for throwing your thick Oxford Dictionary at Mr.Parks face.

Ten still smiles at that memory, a tiny you standing on your bench, yelling out a swear word and launching the book right at the unsuspecting teachers face, nevertheless what you did got the principal's attention. And without making a big deal of it she started an investigation on the teacher.

You chatted excitedly the next day about how exhilarating it was for you to throw a book at that man's face and Ten smiled listening to you talk with animated gestures.

That night he was greeted by the sight of Taeyong silently treating their youngest brothers wounded hands while avoiding the younger boys adoring gaze.

And so life moved forward and Ten had new friends and family here in Korea. And of course you. At this point he wasn't sure if you were his friend or family or both. But you were you.

You were known in school as- The y/n. The y/n who had all of Ten's attention leaving zero for his admirers.

To Ten you were the y/n who made him happy, the y/n who made him laugh, the y/n with a beautiful smile, the y/n who held him as he cried, the y/n who would nag him endlessly when he didn't eat properly, the y/n who would latch pinkies with him and walk everywhere, the y/n who was exceptionally smart and savy.

His life was finally looking up, with you by his side helping him through it all. And slowly he was making new happy memories, like the day he got you all flustered for the first time, or the day Taeyong had put his foot down and finally dragged Donghyuck away from the fighting couple into his room along with Ten, the day he took you to the amusement park you wanted to go to so badly that you kissed his cheek and went running off to the roller coaster, the day Jeno who only looked upto Taeyong had asked him for help, the day he snuck out of the house at night to watch the stars with you, the day Mark spoke at the diner table for the first time, the day you tripped and fell and he got it on camera, the day Taeyong called him his brother, the day of their class picnic and many more.

But there were also bad days like they day he had his first big fight with you or the day Donghyuck had come to him crying and crying without ever telling him why or the day where both the adult Lee's decided to join the family diner and ruined it.

But even those didnt last because his fight with you ended with the two of your crying in each other's arms promising to never have a fight this big again, because the day Donghyuck cried so bitterly that it shook the entire house Taeyong, Mark and Jeno rushed in and it turned into a mini sleepover as they took care of the youngest who soon forgot why he was crying and promised to make sure he only laughs in the future. And the day that Mr. And Mrs. Lee ruined the family diner was the day all five of the boys snuck out to eat marshmallows and chocolate in the park. The initial idea was to make smores but none of them knew how to make a fire and they were all out of crackers.

Those were just a few happy moments with many more to come like the day he asked you out, or the day he and his brothers went camping together, or the day Donghyuck smiled a smile so pure as his eyes shone with genuine happiness or the day Jeno started to think for himself and made friends who were a good influence on him. And the day Mark started dating someone. (Ten genuinely thought by how quite the boy was he would have to force him to talk to people let alone date someone), the day he got his father's company back and the day he proposed to you on the banks of the Han river, under the stars with his family and closest friends there to witness the moment.

"Why are you smiling so big?" your voice interrupted his thoughts and his smiled widened even more at the sight of you. "Did you fart?" You asked him and he chuckled grabbing onto your arm and and pulling you down to sit on his lap, wrapping his arms around your waist. "Nothing I'm just happy"

"Ten Lee I swear to god if you're on drugs then I want a divorce even before I marry you" you scolded playfully and Ten chuckled, "My only drug is you baby" he cooed and you gaged "Eww gross get a room" you said and he deadpanned.

"You're weird you know that y/n?" He asked with a small chuckle.

"Clearly you knew what you were getting into" You smiled, teeth on full display with how wide your grin was.

"Obviously"

"Oh by the way, I handled your little mishap at work today and got a few things you were supposed to do tomorrow scheduled for later and the rest got done today so your free tomorrow the entire day" you said and he smiled at you looking at you so lovingly. He doesn't remember that one moment he realised he was in love with you, maybe there wasn't just one lightbulb moment where her realised he loved you. Maybe he always knew or maybe he gradually figured it out. But that didn't matter all that matters is that he loves you and you love him.

"Ahh what would I do without you?" he asked snuggling into your neck and you chuckled, "Let's never have an answer to that question okay" you said and he nodded, you were right. You were there through evey step of the way after his life turned upside down and he's sure as hell he doesn't want to find out what it would be like without you so Ten grinned placing a small peck on you neck, "I'm gonna take you on the best date of your entire life tomorrow"

"Desperate much?"

"Y/n I'm literally engaged to you!"
