Basilisk, the Midnight Prince of X, a Mutant-Inhuman hybrid clone created by Mister Sinister from the DNA of Cyclops and [redacted] as one of his Chimera soldiers. After a confrontation with Storm's team, Bas was adopted into the extended Summers family.

His primary powerset resembles Scott's (concussive eyeblasts, in green instead of red) while his secondary mutations involve scaly growth that provide additional protection. What other powers he may develop--and who his Inhuman gene donor are--remain in question.

After adjusting to life outside the Sinister Chimera Pits, Bas found himself on a different kind of adventure entirely as a member of the Champions alongside fellow mutant-inhuman Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, Power Prince, Vivian Vision, Anwen Bakian of Xandar, and the Invincible Ironheart.

'k i also liked nightcrawlers but there was one thing about it that annoyed me so much. it's the fact that the nightcrawler hybrids were more prone to be "good" and were as hopeful as kurt was from the first generation by virtue of being related to him. like kurt's genetics carry some "goodness" aspect and natural hopeful trait

besides the fact we've seen time and time again that clones (let alone hybrids) don't carry the personality and ambition of the OG template, it kinda undermines kurt's achievements as it being less of his own choice/reflexion on the struggles he faced during his entire life and more of a genetic predisposition/innate need to do that. there is no choice, never was. at least with cardinal, a chimera, you could argue the phoenix force has something to do with his personality (rachael grey's dna was used) since it stands in the realm of the mystical so it could play a part in why the cardinals were all the same in the way they valued all life (the phoenix is the very essence of life), no exceptions

while we're on this, if any of nightcrawler's hybrids were such failures in the first place even when combined with the dna of murderous mutants, why were his chimeras even considered in cardinal's reality which was set in a war torn world in need of hyper militaristic and agressive mutant soldiers? talk about being counterproductive

there's also the big question of "how does tj fit in this?" since the hybrids are basically a kurt+someone combo aka an indirect child of his. yet tj doesn't have any of their personality predisposition...

See I figured Mother Righteous just drilled the philosophy of the Spark into them that they had no other choice. Since they were also branched from Sinister in a way, Kurt's "goodness" and hopes and dreams were the only way to battle out Sinister's influence. So they absolutely had to copy his personality into theirs so they could literally live longer.

Humans (Earthlings)

The original inhabitants of Earth! Nothing special about these guys, really.

Mutants/“Alts” (Sub-human Earthlings)

As a result of the so-called ‘comet’, Gabriel’s Arrow, these are humans that many speculate are the (albeit forced) next step in human evolution through the development of superhuman powers. The first generation came from spontaneous combustion, and while that phenomenon has dropped off as their numbers have skyrocketed, it's still fairly common for someone to get powers this way. Mutants are highly stigmatized, oppressed, and discriminated against.

Martians (Kings, Princes, Soldiers/Workers, Knights)

The inhabitants of the planet Mars. An originally parasitic alien species created by the Neanderthals who have advanced beyond their original capabilities to be able to achieve space flight and exploration. The Martian King Alderbaran was recently overthrown and eaten, and now Mars is ruled by an ‘Administration’ made up of those who took part in his consumption. They tried to infiltrate and invade Earth only to find that their wanted food source was now dying due to its own stupidity; wanting to eat humans but realizing the importance of wildlife management, strike a deal with the remaining governments of humanity to help rebuild their civilization. All Martians have thick, black, flammable blood that is used like gasoline to power things, and a "timer" that is explosive upon their death. Their lifespans are naturally fairly long and they all have the ability to shapeshift, to varying degrees. In their humanoid forms/disguises, red hair, dark brown skin, freckles on the face, hands, and chest, and eyes that only reflect red light are traits they ALL share and as such can be easy to identify if someone knows what they’re looking for. *Martians are meant to eat other living creatures and adopt their characteristics as a way of infiltrating a species’ society.

False Martians (Sterilized or Earth-born Martians)

What it says on the tin. These Martians are sterilized at birth (eyes removed) in order to achieve a more humanoid appearance (they lose their red/orange skin color, they tend to turn various shades of gray-blue) for the specific role of espionage. Sterilized Martians also tend to possess heightened hearing and the ability to generate electricity or turn invisible, although as to how is unknown. The term “False” is also derogatorily used for Martians born and raised on Earth.

Chimeras

Martian hybrids* that are exploding in population due to the Martian presence on Earth, as well as due to Martian tendency to almost constantly reproduce. They’re a dangerous and volatile new species, who share many traits with their Martian relatives, such as assuming the physical and physiological form of whatever characteristics their food (animals or people) had! They share some of the same abilities as Martians (super strength, speed, limited shapeshifting, timer, etc). Due to their non-Martian parent however, Chimeras are much more prone to ‘random’ detonation (which is what makes them so dangerous). All Chimeras are brown skinned, freckled redheads. Caste system Chimeras do **NOT exist, and **CANNOT exist. (*Hybrids meaning who or whatever a Martian gets with, including cows, dogs, cats, other various animals, etc) (gross)(**Or CAN they…huehuehue)

Androids

Humanoid robots that can possess an unusual level of sentience and autonomy. They’re made out of a (allegedly) lab created substance called Altenium, which allows them extreme durability and some a limited level of shapeshifting and combat abilities. They’re used often in day to day life, with jobs ranging from construction workers to law enforcement to even government administration.

Zombies

Undead people and animals who possess extremely limited sentience and next to no will of their own. They’re usually used as servants and attendants by wealthy people, since they don’t need to be paid anything or cost any upkeep (the creepy factor is also cited as a ‘trendy rich people thing’ in 200X). Stray zombies tend to be typical biological/sanitary hazards as breeding grounds for disease. Don’t eat people and are generally harmless.

“Them”

Known more commonly by the general human population as “[]” and by the Martians as “Them”, they were a [] over millions of years. Mysteriously disappeared sometime in the Mesozoic era.
