Did you know?
The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter was rejected by multiple publishers. She believed in her work, and in 1901 she self published 250 copies which sold so quickly she had to print another 200.
The book was officially acquired by Frederick Warne & Co. in 1902, who was one of the publishers who had originally rejected it. It is now one of the most beloved children's books of all time.

I wrote this story, Into The Vanquished Lands, because my co-teacher and I needed to model to our students the process of writing a fantasy story. Although this is aimed at 10-11 year olds, do stop by and give it a read. My co-teacher created the characters and contributed a couple of other ideas, like the name of the world. It ended up being 16 or 17 pages, but I’ve serialised it for my blog. Here’s part 1.

Does anyone remember the title of the book these are from?? I can picture these villains clearly, from left to right Helpless, Powerless and Hopeless. They were antagonists in a story where a rainbow zebra becomes really depressed and starts to lose himself to despair. I'm on the hunt for the book.

Numbers are Everywhere is nearly out 😃 it took my about two or three years to finish it. I didn't know if it was going to be a book release or some artwork to post on Instagram (or on here!). The story was changed about three times along with the art style. I've now gone for an anime/manga look for Betsy (along with her two other friends Zoey and Ava), I think that suits me so much better.
What's it about?
This book is not just about learning numbers, but also about embracing the joy of discovery and finding beauty in the little things. Like counting the little ants that are going about their daily routines, or what about counting and sorting out fruits from your snack pack.
When's it out?
I'm looking for an August release - about the 20th to the 25th. I will also be adding some great products on my Red Bubble store in time for the release. The book will be out to buy on the Amazon Book store.

I need to make art and work on my illustrations for the book so badly and it feels like starting again is the biggest hurdle and it’s been weeks of feeling awful and anxious about it, I need to just get back into it UGH!
I hate that I’ve delt with this my whole existence it seems like..

This book is a new gem! I was scrolling through Amazon and saw this book I had never seen before. My daughter, sons, and I really enjoyed this book! It takes you on a little adventure but the ending and the decision that’s revealed and why is pretty awesome. 2 thumbs up and highly recommend!
