Watching the new Dungeons and Dragons movie got me thinking about The Dungeonmaster, an awesomely cheesy 80s metal kind of movie, which has very little if anything to do with D&D. But it does have Blackie Lawless and W.A.S.P. and a hero, wielding a magic wrist-mounted computer.

I recently watched the Avatar (blue people) sequel.

And I heard it was bad, but I did not realize how batshit off the wall bonkers insane it was.

It circles back to being entertaining purely based on WTF unhinged energy.

While the first movie was visually interesting but had a super boring and predictable plot, this one reads like a campy cult classic.

Spoilers

So do you remember how in the first movie Segorni Weaver’s character (don’t know the character’s name, don’t know how to spell the actress’s name too lazy to look up either) died and they tried to use the magic tree to transfer her soul into the Navi body but it didn’t work and both bodies died?

Well it turns out they (the team of unnamed human scientists) saved her dead Navi body in a test tube and the dead body somehow got pregnant and gave birth.

This happened in the first two minutes of an almost 3 hour movie.

(Don’t worry, they don’t actually show the birth. They explain this in a voiceover. This movie is campy and violent but not overly gorey.)

Throughout the movie other characters tease the corpse daughter by guessing who her necrophiliac father might be, but her origin is never actually explained.

There’s a lot more things in this movie that made me pause it to do the Jim from the Office face, but I don’t feel like typing out an entire essay right now. If anyone is interested I can add more examples tomorrow.

Snake Outta Compton (2018) I wanted to see this ever since the promos came out. Weeellll it was not worth the wait. Suuuure some parts are funny and there is a sense of awe in the fact they dare to go as weird and as far into the realm of stupid that this movie ventured buuut..nah it's bad. It feels like an Asylum movie is being spoofed by the makers of Epic movie and Not another Teen movie..not even a Scary Movie. It's not a spoof of Straight out of Compton or any big monster movie as much as it is a million spoofs of mockbusters in general. Lots of cgi goofiness added to terrible rap stereotypes. Lots of carnage added to extremely stupid characters ..wait that sounds like totally my thing. Ah it was ok but would have been funnier if it started Kid n Play at their age now pretending they were still 20 and everyone else played it as they were. The problem shockingly is it is tooo much. So many huge jokes , gags and action pieces and they all flop. Like purposely groaner jokes followed by accidentally groaner jokes with no pace will make you face palm until you bruise your face. Normally I'm fine with that so normies beware. If you can't handle groaners normally then the end of this movie will make you wish the giant snake would eat you to end the pain. Proudly slides dollar store dvd copy beside my copy of Dead Ant.

Might it have been too much to picture having the Mounties step aside at least once in awhile in such cheesy B-movie scenarios as invoke the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and just let "ze good wolf" from the wilds of Quebec, by name Loopy De Loop, intervene for the sake of defending the honour and repute of the lupine race?

Fantastic Four would be endearing if it had better actors, Alba and Evans made it bad.

I’ve only seen bit and pieces here and there since it’s been on TV in the mornings but Evans is decent, I think it’s just the type of character he’s written as? Like in the script Asshole… is it annoying he doesn’t change even a little bit? Yeah, but sometimes that’s alright. Alba was ? Blonde I guess.

My favorite thing is how lowkey uncomfortable Branch's brothers look when they find out Branch highkey replaced them with a new band/found family after they left LOLOL
