William Brown (Jonah Ray Rodrigues), a neurotic, self-absorbed musician determined to finish his prog-rock magnum opus, faces a creative roadblock in the form of a noisy and grotesque neighbor named Vlad (Alex Winter). Finally working up the nerve to demand that Vlad keep it down, William inadvertently decapitates him. But, while attempting to cover up one murder, William’s accidental reign of terror causes victims to pile up and become undead corpses who torment and create more bloody detours on his road to prog-rock Valhalla.
A fun new thing I did for @danagould: a live reading of I MARRIED A MONSTER FROM OUTER SPACE with Maria Bamford, Bobcat a Goldthwait, Laraine Newman, Jonah Ray, Janet Varney and Gary Anthony Williams at Largo in Los Angeles. Go see it!
Just watched Alex Winter's new Shudder Original movie Destroy All Neighbors (directed by Josh Forbes) and it is a complete clusterfuck of gore, slimy special effects, and rock n roll craziness!
Alex Winter really loves having his head detached from his body, huh?
Vlad has got to be one of Alex's most unique (and potty-mouthed) characters yet. He is almost unrecognisable, donned head-to-toe in grotesque prosthetic makeup (not unlike his beast boy look for Freaked!).
Not just that, but Jonah Ray did an absolutely fantastic job playing struggling rock musician William Brown alongside Kiran Deol as his rather fed up girlfriend, Emily. This film mostly takes place in a shitty apartment building with equally shitty residents.
A drug-fueled splatter-comedy with epic music. An absolute blast! Highly recommend.
I designed this Backglass for my MST3K "Pinball Peril" Visual Pinball Table. The game is free to download at VPforums.org with a working setup of VPX and PinMame.
Can you believe it? RiffTrax just turned Sweet Sixteen and a ton of our friends stopped by to congratulate us! “Weird Al” Yankovic, Paul F. Tompkins, John Hodgman, Joel Hodgson, Jonah Ray, Janet Varney, and a whole ton more! Who do you think will show up?
I have developed parasocial relationships with several of the key collaborators behind the retro splatstick comedy Destroy All Neighbors, which has me rooting for its success. I met one of the film’s writers, Charles Pieper, at a local horror festival a few years ago, and we established one of the most sacred bonds two people can share: social media mutuals. The film’s score was also…
