"What are some probable ways we bring people out of ferality?" You asked the squad standing around you. They were a few days out from graduating and at this point you were just filling time. None of them said anything, lookin around at each other. You sighed deeply.
Trip raised her hand and you stared at her. "Scents?" You blinked slowly, waiting for her to elaborate. "If we can get him a fresh scent of some packmate or a person he's especially close to then it can get him a focus point," she explained. You hummed.
Turning to look at the whiteboard you'd started with different plans to get Simon back, there were a few options you had. "The only problem with that, Trip, is that it could cause death," you whispered. The whiteboard had streaks where you'd erased and rewritten things.
Scent. Medications. Time. Death.
You sighed deeply, still thinking over anything else you could do. If you forced suppressants into his body, it would decrease the hormones in his body but the question was focusing on how to get them in him.
There weren't aerosol sedatives, he had ripped off the bindings that they had used to get him in the cell in the first place. 'What's wrong with him?' Price had asked. All you could do was shake your head, not legally able to explain anything. Fuck HIPAA.
Doctors, civilian doctors, had come in and started to try and take over. Even the doctors above you were fighting, because he wasn't a civilian. All they wanted was to use him and figure out how to bring a person out of ferality. Especially an Alpha.
"There are several ways we can fight ferality, but none of which have proven to do them well," you explained, looking around at everyone. There was nothing you could feasibly do, you knew. Similar to rabies, it wasn't something that anyone really came back from.
You sighed deeply. "Attempts have been made, but none of them came through. With too much time in ferality, a persons brain begins to shut down. We don't entirely know why, it hasn't been able to be studied, but there is very little we can do," you had to look away. "Either way, you work your hardest to ensure comfort," you had decided to add that at the end.
All you knew was that you needed to make sure he was comfortable. You knew your mate, you knew he deserved that at the very least. A knock on the conference door brought everyones attention as one of the civvy doctors walked in.
"You'll need to go in there," he told you. Shaking your head in confusion, you looked at him. "If he can recognize your scent, you'll be able to get sedatives in him. You'll be able to help us make him the first survivor," he whispered. Excusing yourself, the two of you moved quickly through the halls to make it to his cell area.
Standing in front of it, watching him stare at everyone through the balaclava, you felt your heart breaking. This wasn't Simon. It was Ghost. Blinking slowly, you listened to the hustle and bustle around you. It was like looking at him for the first time again. A man you didn't know, but was intrinsically connected to you.
With a deep sigh, you looked around at the doctors around you. "I may be his mate, but he won't recognize my scent," you whispered. "I'm pregnant, and we all know that changes someone scent," a few murmurs came from some of the doctors.
Looking away, you glanced at Ghost once more.
"I'll do it," you added.
They had you change into clothes he interacted with you the most in. So you wore your sleep clothes, just something you'd been wearing the night before. With the sedative slipped up your sleeve, the door outside the cell was unlocked.
"You know what to do," they told you. The plan wasn't all that concrete, just get in there and stab him. Very good plan, one of the best you'd ever seen. God, you wished Price had been allowed to format the whole thing. He might have a backup in case things went south.
Stepping through the now unlocked cell door, you took a quick glance back at the doors blocking your escape. Looking through the cell, Ghosts eyes were on you. Unblinking, the eyes you knew were gone. Blacked out, his pupil dilated so wide.
You didn't make eye contact with him other than the quick glance, keeping your head bowed down to try and remain as small as possible. If you weren't seen as a danger, he might not attack you. Might.
Movement brought your eyes up, seeing him standing to his full height and move to you. Slow but still graceful. You could see his face twitching, watched his chest heave with each breath he took. He was scenting you and you allowed it.
Closer, he grew closer and leaned his head close, you could hear the heaving pants as he drew your scent into him. Ghosts head dropped against your neck, pushing your head to force you to bare it to him. You could feel his nose nudging against you, feel his hands grasp at your arms and tug you closer.
You could almost feel tears filling your eyes, thinking back to the past two or so months filled with grief and eventual relief. A huffing grunt came from Ghost, almost displeasure at your scent changing. He tugged you with him, dragging you over to where he'd been sitting for the last few days.
Pushing you to sit, he stood over you. Your eyes opened, looking up at him and feeling the tears finally fall. A groaning whine came from him, his wide eyes glancing around to find something to cheer you up. You knew his thought process, you'd seen ferality in people before.
Only once had you seen it in him.
Ghost dropped next to you, tugging you into his lap and holding you close. He began huffing at your neck, pressing his scent out around you to try and soothe you. It seemed your scent was almost soothing him as well, allowing him a reprieve of the stress and fear over the last however long he'd been away.
God, how much you had missed this. The two of you didn't talk much, but you soaked this in as much as you could. His scent swirling around you, the feeling of his hands and arms wrapped tightly around you. You could feel yourself relaxing, felt the press of his head against yours.
Deep breaths brought his scent into you, albeit not being strong from where you were pressed into his chest. You could hear his heart thumping strongly against his chest, a true showing of his survival.
Pushing your hands to the back of his neck and shifting, just a little, you felt your throat choking around sobs. "'m so sorry," you whispered to him and he made another grunting whine at you.
You pressed the syringe in his neck and he jerked, but you were able to push the plunger all the way down. He whined against you, grabbing you tighter. Over the next few minutes, his grip slowly waned.
His body relaxed fully under you and you could feel the tears sliding down your cheeks begin to pick up. Stuffing your head into his neck, you inhaled deeply. Leather, tobacco and little hints of his own musk. God, you missed it, but the civilian doctors were flooding the room. Pulling you away and injecting him with different suppressants.
They dragged him away, forcing him out of your line of sight. You felt similar to how you'd initially felt when receiving his tags. Numb, like you were watching everything happening over a television.
Alpha is back.
You found Price waiting for you, just outside the medical center the doctors had dragged Ghost to. "How are you, Doc?" You fought the tears, feeling little hiccups coming from your chest.
"I don't know," you looked up at him. "I never thought I'd be able to see him again, but it's not him," you whispered. "That's not my Simon, that's Ghost,"
You knew when Ghost woke up, hearing the snarling roars coming from his chest. The suppressants hadn't worked, but he was still set to be pumped full of more in the next few days. The doctors found you sitting at the front desk, rubbing your face.
"Come with us," they said and dragged you to Ghosts room, where his snarls and roars quieted down to growls. As you sat beside him, placing your hands on whatever you could reach his growls quieted into little huffs and grunts.
You pressed yourself as close as they would allow you to him. "I missed you so much," you whispered and his head whipped around to look at you. His pupils were still so dilated, but you could make out his eye color just barely.
His eyes were always so pretty. You sighed and dropped your head to look down at the ground.
"It's been so long," you choked out. "So, so long," he looked at you, nearly blankly. God, you hoped that somewhere in that stupid head of his he could hear you. "Been almost two months, you wanna know something?" You asked, lifting your head to give him a weak smile.
All Ghost did was blink at you, slowly. Almost like he was listening, you noticed. His heartrate was dropping closer to normal rates, blood pressure dropping little by little as the minutes wore on.
"I'm pregnant," you gave a wet laugh. "I found out not too long after you left for your mission, and y'know what?" He didn't respond, but you could see the dilation of his eyes shifting just barely.
Looking away and swallowing thickly, all you could do was give little sobs.
"God, I missed you so much," you sobbed out. "When they gave me your dog tags that one morning, I didn't know what to think. I was so numb for so long but Price knocked sense into me," you choked another wet laugh. "Just like how he would do with you," you whispered.
"Pups," he whispered, staring at you. Your mouth gaped open, staring at him. His voice was rough, gravelly. It sounded like he either hadn't talked in months or had been screaming his voice out. "Pups," he whispered again, hand moving before getting caught by the handcuffs.
"Oh my god," you whispered. You lunged to get closer to him and heard scrambling at the door. People surrounded you and tugged you away, dragging you out of the door but you could hear it. His heartrate increased severely, and you could assume his blood pressure was skyrocketing again. "Stop!" You shouted, writhing against the people dragging you away.
There was a large snarl from Ghost, you could just see over everyone his writhing form as needles were stabbed into him. The door closed just as his head shot up and you could catch one last look of the fear filling his eyes. Hands tugged you away, pulling you from the area.
"No!" You still were screaming, not even realizing what you were doing. "Please, I need to be there!" You fought against the hands that pulled you further and further from the room.
"You can't," it was Price. "You can't be there, they need to be able to work on him without people in the way," he whispered to you.
"I was getting through to him, Price," he shook his head. "He spoke to me," you whispered, tugging him closer to you. "All he said was 'pups' before they dragged me out," Price looked away.
He sighed deeply. "We know," he said. "We were listening in, but you need to understand something," he made you look at him. "That isn't your mate anymore," he whispered. "He's been feral for too long,"
"No," you shook your head. "No, it's going to be okay," you whispered. "They still have a few days," you looked away. "They can't give up on him,"
Price looked away. "They're giving one more push of suppressants," he told you. "Giving them a few days, they're going to use you to help bring him out but if this doesn't work they'll need to keep him comfortable until the end," you couldn't look at him.
You weren't going to look at any of these people, how dare they give up on him so quickly? For minutes on end, you sat near Price, just waiting. For what, you didn't know, but Price wasn't allowing you to leave.
Minutes dragged into hours. Just like the hours that stole your last moments with Simon before he came back as Ghost. Minutes that you could've been in there with Ghost, comforting him as they did things to him.
He wouldn't know what was happening, his mind was too preoccupied with survival. You couldn't stop hearing his one word replaying in your mind, the recognition you now could see in his eyes. The door opened but you didn't look up, doctors came out slowly but surely.
Feet stopped in front of you, where you'd been staring at the ground. "Ma'am?" The voice whispered above you and you finally looked up. "You can go back in, now," he whispered. You knew that in the few lucid minutes a feral person had were the few minutes when more medicine should be pumped into them.
You had never expected the fear that would fill the lovers when this type of thing happened. When you were still training, you had never expected fear to be combined into others. You had no words for what you felt as you walked back in the room and saw Ghost snarl at you, his eyes no longer filled with recognition.
Sitting where you had been, you gazed over the Alpha. Blinking slowly, you moved your hands to where they had once been sitting, not so many hours ago.
"I miss you," you whispered to the Alpha. "God, I missed you so much," you could see his chest heaving with breaths, nearly see his mouth dropping open under the balaclava to allow more of your scent in. You sighed deeply.
Looking around you, the room was so bare. Something you would only use to describe hospital rooms. It hurt, knowing your Alpha was stuck here. Somewhere you weren't allowed to help.
"The rest of the pack have been helping me out, y'know," you smiled softly. Make this as normal as possible, you told yourself. "Soap's been joining me at my appointments," you looked down at Ghost. "Gaz has been making sure I take care of myself, and Price is doing his best to help during the night," you choked out a laugh.
You hear a soft little hum come from Ghost. His eyes were filling with recognition, little by little. Leaning towards him, you tried to catch his eye. They were dilating, his heartrate slowed.
He hummed again and you looked away. "I need you to come back, Simon," you whispered to him. You looked up at him, gazing over what you could see. His eyes, moving quickly around the room and grazing over you before moving away.
A deep sigh came from you and you sat there with him, watching the clock slowly tick as time carried on. Neither of you said anything and you watched as his eyes slowly drifted shut. You could feel the exhaustion slowly settling into your body, from the different emotions you'd been sent through over the last few days.
Standing up quietly, you let yourself out of the room. With one more look back, you watched the Alpha breathe slowly in his sleep. Closing the door behind you, you found Price.
Gesturing for him to follow you, the two of you slowly made your way to your office. When you unlocked the door, you sat yourself down in your chair and watched as Price closed the door behind him. He sat in front of you, lighting a cigar.
Quiet. For a few minutes, it was just quiet outside of the drag of his cigar and the soft breathing between the two of you. "He's home, Doc," he whispered. "Simons home,"
"It's not Simon," you looked at him. "That's Ghost. My Simon is not sitting in that bed, it may be his body but it's not him," you responded sharply. He looked away from you, sucking at his teeth. You blinked rapidly, trying to get the sleep out of them.
You sighed deeply, rubbing your hands over your face as you looked around the office. The one place where you and Simon had grown so close, the one place where the two of you had found peace.
"I've spent the last however many months grieving," you said. "I've grieved the life of my mate, and now he's back but it isn't him. That isn't my mate," you whispered, giving a short pause. "I can't grieve him again, Price, it'll destroy me," he reached over and rested his hand against yours.
He gave a little smile. "You won't have to grieve him again," he said. "The way he's progressing is making the doctors very happy," you gave a short laugh. "He could be the first case of survival through ferality, and you were the key to it," he told you.
For another few moments there was silence. Neither of you spoke, but you could see the pity in his eyes. Closing your eyes, you just breathed, still faintly able to smell Ghost albeit the scent becoming stale.
"I just need my Alpha," you whispered. "I need him back. I don't care if it means I fight an entire group of Doctors, they can't just kill him, Price," you opened your eyes and looked at him. "They can't just kill him," he didn't meet your eye.
"It's getting late," Price told you. "I think you need to go back to your room and sleep. Now," you didn't look at him, allowing him to guide you to your room. When you entered, he gave you a grim little smile before closing the door behind you.
Now that you were alone, you had no idea what to do. Your Alpha was just a few minutes walk away from you, but you wouldn't be able to enter that room again. They'd close down the medical center from visitors, even with your access as a doctor they wouldn't allow you to enter the room.
Crawling into your cold nest, you laid there. Shirt pressed to your face from where you could still faintly smell Ghost when he'd held you. Closing your eyes, you could almost feel his arms wrapping around you. You could almost smell him right there, right next to you.
And that's how you felt asleep, dreaming of your Alpha wrapping himself around you and making sure you knew everything would be okay. Even you didn't believe it.

“I’m here to take revenge for last night, you lied to me sweetheart, you didn’t think I’d let it slide so easily, did you?”
You looked where you thought he was because you could feel the heat radiating off his body or in his case, the cold breeze. He smiled as he saw your confused expression so he placed his finger on your jawline and turned your face so you were looking right at him. Of course you couldn't really respond to him and he was going to have so much fun with that prospect but at first he had to make sure you were comfortable with him causing such nuisance, the last thing he wanted to do was irk you with his behavior.
He noticed the black cocktail dress that went past your thighs and you looked divine as usual, he hardly ever saw you in colors that weren't black.
You gulped as his arms wrapped around you again and he placed his lips on your neck to suck on it lightly, both of your palms clenched onto the edge of the counter, he was going to be the death of you today but boy you'd be lying if you said that you weren't just thinking about him and had not desperately wished for him to be there. Strangers and social situations always made you anxious so him being there was calming for your soul even though he came there to mess with you.
You wondered if people could tell you were getting your neck sucked like this, probably not
"Princess" he whispered in your ear before he kissed your earlobe so you hummed in your mouth, thankfully nobody had their eyes on you, except that weird guy from 5th floor who couldn't stop staring at you.
"Is this alright? I can leave if this is bothersome, i would never want to hurt you like that" your mouth opened slightly as he said. You didn't want him to leave. Please don't leave.
You looked up and shook your head lightly, hoping he'd understand the gesture.
"I'll stay" a small smile crept on your lips as he said that.
"Hii…Y/n can you make a sandwich for your mom?" Mrs Geller said to you so you nodded. Why were you nodding still?
"Yeah ofcourse…ummm should we get the music going? You know danciiiiinhgg" You said excitedly as you rolled around your arms, hitting Loki right in his torso. It probably just felt like a tickle to him though. You walked towards the living room and before she could even answer you used the stereo to play the music and you made sure it was loud.
This way you could pretend to lipsync without being suspicious. You stepped back into the kitchen and got behind the counter to make the sandwich and then you felt him holding onto you from behind, his lips latched onto your neck again and your hands were starting to shake because of the tingling sensations you were feeling all over your body. And inside your body.
"Loud noises, nice play darling, but it's still not going to be enough"
"I'm going to kill you" you mumbled as you bobbed your head to the rhythm of the music and he chuckled
"But what if I kill you first?" you gasped at the comment but you had no time to react because your mom was walking right towards you. Why did that comment arouse you? You had issues.
"Let me know if at any point of time you'd want me to turn her into a frog"
You chuckled as he whispered in your ear and your mom looked at you confused,
"What happened?"
"Uhhhh nothing..just .. some people look so funny when they're dancing" she turned around to look but nobody was actually dancing there.
"Here…are you having fun?" You asked her as you passed her the sandwich so she smiled.
"Yeah you know Becky wants me to stay here, girls night she said" she giggled so you smiled at her. You were so used to calling Mrs Geller as Mrs Geller that you almost forgot she had an actual name.
"But I told her that I was going to stay with you sooo" Oh no stay here. Stay here. That way Loki could spend the night at yours.
You felt his fingers playing with the zipper of your dress and you gulped as he lowered them down a little.
"Maybe I should take this off right now and put you in my clothes, haven't stopped thinking about it since last night sweetheart"
"Ohhh dear God" you mumbled so your mom looked at you all perplexed.
"Is everything alright with you? You look drained"
Not drained. Wet. You were wet.
"No I just..you can stay here, I mean you guys have become such good friends right?" she hummed as she munched on her sandwich.
"Friends? Like us?" He whispered
"Definitely not like us"
"What?"
"I mean that she likes you so much and it would mean alot to her, it's her birthday and you know..her husband passed away a few years ago, she's lonely" you said to her and her face contorted in sadness.
"That's so sad, okay maybe i'll stay here"
You smiled so wide as she said that, she went back to the living space to tell her that she was going to be staying here. Thanks Mrs Geller.
"You want something to eat?" You mumbled as you looked down so other people won't see you talking to yourself.
"No but you need to be fed, make one for yourself"
"Not hungry"
"Do it"
"Yes sir"
Erection charm stat.
He couldn't stop touching you while you were making the sandwich, his hands trailed down from the side of your waist and you took a deep breath as his fingers pulled your dress up and caressed the insides of your thigh.
"Look at you, you're trembling like a leaf" he whispered in your ear and it only made the matters worse for you.
"I know you adore my cold temperature but I always wonder if you'd be sensitive to extreme cold" you glared at him as he said that. "Perhaps i should put the theory to a test" he conjured an ice cube and you felt it rubbing against your bare back, it almost knocked the wind out of your chest. Your knees felt weak, if it wasn't for him holding you so tightly you probably would have collapsed.
"I wish I could watch you suck on it" "Okay alright"
You got away from his hold because you felt afraid you'd moan or do something worse, grabbing the plate of your sandwich you stepped out of her kitchen.
"Where are you going?"
Mrs Geller asked you so you smiled so widely that it seemed unnatural.
"I'll be right back I just uhhh..i don't like eating in front of people " she looked at you for a moment before she shrugged
"Ohh okay come back though..we have cake "
"Definitely I'll be right back " you walked out of her apartment and quickly went into yours, you kept the door open and you smelled his cologne as he walked in, that's when you shut the door with a thud and he made himself visible. His long hair seemed as if he had just shampooed it, he was in his Asgardian garb, a long black tunic with the same colored pants, you walked towards the kitchen to put the sandwich down, glaring at him all the way.
"You think you're funny huh?" You stormed him so he smiled.
As soon as you reached closer he picked you up in his arms and kissed you as passionately as he could, it's been more than 24 hours and you had tortured him last night with that little teasing play.
He sat down on the sofa with you on top of his lap in the usual position.
"That was a reckless thing to do" you mumbled between the heated kisses and it made him smile.
"Well I am reckless"
You got even closer to him, almost sitting on his crotch , your hips moved slowly on him and the moan that escaped deep from his chest was something that would keep you wet and your fingers working late at night. But then you didn't feel anything as you moved against him, he wasn't hard, like at all, now you may not have had plenty of experience in this department, you hardly ever stayed zoned in whenever you had sex with those men, by men you meant those two men you actually dated but atleast you knew he was supposed to be hard. Right?
You pulled away from him and shifted yourself back onto his thighs
"What happened?" He asked you so you smiled, your lips latched onto his neck and he leaned his head back on the couch as you placed your hand on his clothed cock and rubbed it slowly.
Should he stop using the charm? You wanted to touch him right?
You pulled away from him and he was looking at your hand movements while you were looking at him
"Lo?"
"Mmmhmm"
"Oh baby ..it's okay " you cooed to him and it only confused him further.
"What?"
"You know..that " you gestured towards his cock and it took him a few second to realize what you meant. Did you really think he couldn't get an erection? You pressed a soft kiss on his cheek then you pecked his lips to comfort him, you just hoped he wasn't embarassed by it, maybe you shouldn't have pointed it out.
"So it is okay that I can not get it…up?" you looked at him as he said that.
"Ohhh honey..it is okay..it's alright, it really doesn't matter" he chuckled at the response.
"It does not matter?"
"I mean it's more common than you think..it happens alot..yeahh" you brought your hands up and started to massage his shoulders for some reason, you seemed nervous and you were trying to not hurt him in anyways. Okay maybe he can have a little fun with this.
"Well it would certainly matter when I am not able to fulfill your desires" you bit on your lip as he said that,
"Umm has it always been this way?"
"Ofcourse not, it's only since I found out about my heritage, it is some kind of defect in our genes, we can not get it up for some reason" ohh that's why you never felt him get an erection while you two cuddled so intimately.
"Ohh I'm sorry baby, it's going to be okay I promise" he bit on his cheek to hide his smile as you comforted him with sweet words and gentle kisses, your fingers caressed his scalp.
"That is it, that is all you have to say?"
"Mmmhmmm"
"So you do not care about this?"
"I care about you lo"
Okay he started this joke but now he was actually getting sentimental. Were you really just going to be okay if he actually was impotent?
"What about sex, your needs? I'm assuming we were going to do that at some point" you looked into his eyes as he said that.
"Well there are ways.. several other ways, it's really not a big deal for me I swear to god, i swear on you" you assured him again and it made him smile, his eyes did seem teary though.
"You're so precious my darling" he cupped your cheeks and kissed you as passionately as he could, his fingers waved once and then he grabbed your hand to put it back on his crotch.
"Lo I know.." you were going to say something to comfort him further but then you felt it, you felt him hardening instantly at your touch. God of mischief right? Ofcourse he was messing with you.
"I see..that was a prank"
He smirked as you said that but as you started to rub your hand up and down, the smugness was wiped off his face
"I was using a charm all this time" he gulped as the sensation began to build in the pit of his stomach, why was he such a putty in your hands?
"Why?"
"To..ahhhh–" he moaned as you cupped his bulge with your hand, he felt so big, you have never felt anything like this before "Didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable"
"Well who is precious now?" You cooed in his ears.
"I am still in awe of you willing to stay with me despite that situation" you tilted his head as she said that and then you stopped touching him.
"What kind of girl do you think I am? Do you think I'll just ditch you if you're having some stupid performance issues?" You crossed your arms and he sighed.
"Well isn't fornication an important aspect of a romantic relationship?" He asked as he tucked your hair behind your ears and caressed your cheek with his fingers because he could feel you were starting to get agitated a little.
"Look loki ummm.. would you leave me if I was ..ummm.. Wait, what's the female equivalent of erectile dysfunction?" you got off his lap as you started to think about it "Oh my god there's nothing.. ohh wow you guys really do have to stress about this thing huh?" He smiled as you said that.
"I don't..i am a god"
"Ofcourse"
"Come here" he raised his hand forward so you sighed before you placed yours on his and sat down on his lap again.
"Would you leave me if for some reason I can't have sex with you?"
"Noo"
"Well why? Isn't hornyfication an important aspect of a romantic relationship?" He smiled and cupped your cheeks to kiss you before he answered.
"Someone once said that there are several other ways to derive pleasure"
"Are you stealing all my answers?"
"Yes, because you're so good at them"
You giggled as he said that.
"No but really answer me, would you not want me anymore if I couldn't do it the traditional way for some reason? By calling it traditional I'm assuming that's how you do it in Asgard and frost planet as well..like the whole dick in vagina process" he laughed as you said that.
"I'd always want you sweetheart, because there is a friendship involved and I value that relationship more than anything"
"Okay I'm going to steal your answer and say ditto" he smiled.
" Besides we are just friends who kiss sometimes"
"And don't see other people" you retorted.
"And don't see other people"
You smiled and kissed him again, you weren't lying to him or trying to get into his good books, you just cared about him way too much to let anything ruin this bond for you two. He was a precious baby and deserved all the love, you were glad though that he was able to get hard because you weren't able to stop touching his bulge since he had magicked the magic away from it.
"I'm afraid I would do something dirty if you'd continue to touch me like this" he giggled but his breathing got heavier as you gave him a squeeze "Call me baby again "
"Awnnn you like that?"
"Mmmhmmm it makes me feel so small, so tiny in your arms"
"Well you're anything but small, I can tell you that little babyyy" you whispered in his ear and he placed his head between the crook of your neck to suck on it
"Ohhhh darling"
"Are you going to stay the night?"
"That is so licentious of you madame"
You chuckled as he said that. You were going to pretend you understood whatever he meant by the word.
"I had to beg Thor to bring me here, I can stay but I'll have to leave early in the morning"
"Godd make me stop..i can't stop" you bit on your lips as you continued to caress his clothed cock so he grabbed your hand and lifted it up, you both needed a moment to calm down after that "Mmmm well atleast I got you for a few hours and Mrs Geller is keeping my mom so yayyyy" you kissed his forehead and he purred like a kitten.
"Did you tell Thor that you appreciate his help?"
You questioned him as you got off his lap. You really wanted to eat that sandwich now. Wow being horny sure made you hungry.
"Noo" his voice came out so meek so you looked at him. Their relationship always bothered you, you knew both of them cared about each other but so much had happened that it must have been difficult for them to talk to each other now.
"He's doing something nice for you..just tell him you appreciate it, that's it" you told him so he hummed. You took a bite of the sandwich and it was so good you couldn't possibly deprive him of that could you?
"You eat this one, I'll bring more, I don't think we need dinner after this oooh and there's cake" he smiled at your excitement so you leaned down to kiss him briefly before you went back to Mrs Geller apartment.
That night he stayed and you cuddled him like usual, the only problem was he wasn't really trying to hide his beastly erection anymore so it kept rubbing against you all night, you barely got any sleep, how could you when all you wanted to do was hump against him like a bitch in heat.
As soon as he went back to the tower he had to go train with Cap. For some reason Rogers was in a nasty mood today so he took it all out on Loki, there were several cuts and bruises on his face and he looked way worse than he usually did.
"Gotta say your brother is a better fighter than you any given day" Rogers said to him but he ignored it. He could have killed him right there if he wanted but he didn't want to waste his energy. As he stepped out of the training room he found Melissa and Thor chatting up like old buddies in the hallway. What in the name of hornyfication?
"Geee were you both trying to kill each other in there?" Thor smirked as he looked at Loki, Melissa came forward and tried to touch his cheeks but he stepped away,
"Awnn baby you're hurt"
"I'm not a baby, I'm a god, address me as such"
"Calm down Loki, she's your lady, respect her" Thor teased him, he probably found the situation funny but Loki didn't find it amusing at all. There was an awkward silence amongst the three before Thor spoke again
"Oh I have to go polish my hammer, have a good day lady Melissa, pleasure talking to you" Thor took her hand to give it a formal kiss, making loki roll his eyes.
Loki was about to walk past her but she spoke out of turn again.
"You know your brother is so much better than you could ever dream to be Loki?" he didn't miss the venom dripping from her words
"Then why don't you go fuck him?" He was done being respectful.
"I wish I could, he's so much hotter and sexier, so manly, and ohhh he would never get so bruised like a peach in a fight, no wonder he wasn't discarded at birth and no wonder your daddy picked him over you all your life" she smiled as she finished her sentence before she walked past him.
He shouldn't have allowed her words to affect him, she meant nothing to him and she just wanted to hurt him for whatever agenda she had ongoing but her words still reminded him of who he was, he was the second best, the villain, he could never achieve greatness in his pathetic life because he was merely a pawn in everyone's game.
He stood under the cold shower and tried to forget about the whole day, he truly wished he was free to just stay with you, at least you won't hurt him like this.
He walked towards the mirror and those bruises somehow made him look uglier, he slowly morphed into his jotun form, his natural form, but he couldn't even look at himself for longer than a few moments, that bald protruded head, those monstrous ruby eyes and those scales on his skin only made him feel disgusted. His eyes welled up even more as he continued to look at himself.
He felt so alone in the moment, all he wanted to do was talk to you and hear your voice so he quickly put on pants and sat down on his bed to dial your number.
"Hi, are you missing me already?" He heard your voice and it made him smile between the tears,
"I always do" he heard you smiling at the comment.
"Lo I'm going out with mom and Mrs Geller so I won't be able to talk but, can I see you later? She'll leave in the evening" he nodded as you said that but you couldn't see him, he wished you could have stayed longer and he knew you would have if he was to tell you the truth about how he was feeling at the moment.
"Sure darling" you smiled as he said that, for some reason he sounded sad, maybe you were overthinking but his voice didn't have the usual chirp
"Are you okay ?"
"Yes I am Princess, enjoy your day, I'll see you soon hopefully" he lied to you and you paused for a few seconds before you answered him.
"Okay ummm..I.. take care okay?"
"You do that too"
He hung up the phone and now you felt anxious, why did you have to go right now? Maybe he wanted to talk about something?
You tried to keep yourself distracted throughout the day but his sad voice kept ringing in your head, you almost yelled and screamed at your mom when she started to discuss how much she hated Loki and why she thought his image makeover was just another political agenda.
When she finally left you decided to shower and you kept looking at your phone to see if he'd call but he didn't, you even dialed on the telephone number but he didn't pick up either.
Tumblr media
"Aren't you going to see your lady today?" Thor asked him, he was looking for Loki and he was nowhere to be found so he went to the roof and there he was, sitting on the ledge as usual. It always terrified him whenever he found him there because of what had happened that night on the bifrost.
"Oh I just saw her, I am assuming you're talking of lady Melissa right?" Loki snapped at him so Thor sighed deeply.
"I was just joking, lighten up" he chuckled.
"Your jokes have never been humourous Thor"
"Look i didn't come here to fight, if you want to go see lady y/n now is the time" Loki stood up, ofcourse he wanted to see you and hug you, and kiss you.
"Where do you go after you drop me off?"
Loki questioned him and Thor's face flushed all of a sudden.
"Nowhere, i come back here"
Loki squinted his eyes at the response, he knew Thor was lying but he didn't want to get into it for now.
You were in the kitchen making tea when you heard the knock on your window so you ran towards it. You smiled as you looked at him but you noticed those awful cuts and bruises on his face.
"You are hurt" you made him sit down on the sofa and he sighed.
"It will heal"
"How did you get hurt lo?"
"Captain was in a sour mood, he went hard on me"
"And you.. didn't fight back?"
"I didn't want to"
"Why??"
"I don't know"
"You're a god, you're much stronger than them all, don't let them treat you like this" You huffed as you said that, your eyes seemed teary though "Besides what are they even training you for? You are a prince, have been in battles and wars, you know how to fight"
His brows furrowed as he looked at you, the puppy look on his face immediately melted your anger so you climbed on his lap, you weren't angry with him but for him and he understood that but he didn't want you to be so upset because of him.
"Is that why you called, you felt hurt, that's why you called?"
He nodded so you cupped his cheeks and kissed his forehead, then you placed soft kisses on his cheeks one by one, making sure to kiss all those wounds before you pecked his lips
"Why didn't you tell me?" He didn't look up as you questioned him, a tear rolled down from his left eyes so you wiped it with your thumb
"What's bothering you baby, talk to me" his arms wrapped around your waist and he put his head down on your chest for a moment before he hid his face between the crook of your neck.
You immediately embraced him in a bear hug. He told you what Rogers said and what that horse Melissa said to him. How dare she say something so cruel to him? She was lucky you weren't there at the time.
"You are not going to listen to her and take her lies to your heart are you? She's just being nasty because you won't give her the attention she thinks she deserves from you" you said to him in an affirmative tone.
"But she didn't lie, did she? She said what I have heard all my life, he's better than me, he always has been and the only person who never discriminated between us was our mother, but in the end she chose him didn't she? She chose him over me" your eyes welled up at his words, his mother claimed to love him but if she really did then why didn't she tell him the truth? Why did she allow her childrens to hate on Frost Giants when she knew Loki himself was the one? Probably it wasn't your place to judge but you were judging her.
"And how unfortunate that is lo? Not for you but for them, I'm sorry you were made to feel as if you were someone to be forgotten like that but you are not, you are Loki, you're a god, a majestic powerful god and you deserve to be treated like one, you deserve to be loved for who you are and I don't know about everyone else but I'll always choose you over anyone else, always" he sniffled before he placed his head down on your chest again.
Maybe that's all he needed to hear today, he just needed to be chosen for once, he just needed to be prioritized and that need couldn't have been fulfilled by just anyone, he desired it from you, only you. You once said to him that you wanted to be there for your man for those rough and difficult moments, he knew you surely meant it and those weren't just words. He stayed engulfed in your arms like a child for as long as he needed before he pulled away,
"For a god I sure do weep a lot " you smiled as he complained.
"And that's absolutely fine, crying is good you see, you feel better now?"
"A little, but not enough" he mumbled so you kissed his forehead then his nose and finally his lips.
"You look so pretty, your cheeks are flushed, lips so red, you're the prettiest thing I ever known of"
"I am not" he wasn't looking at you but playing with the fabric of your shirt as he spoke, your words definitely made him feel bashful.
"Okay maybe I can pamper you some more, would you like that?" You asked him and that made him look up, he didn't miss the tender voice you were putting on just for him, he had always desired to be treated like this so when it was finally happening he couldn't even believe his luck.
"And how do you plan on doing that?"
"Would you like more kisses maybe or hugs? Cuddles? Or maybe something naughty" you whispered in his ear before your lips trailed down to his neck. He was squirming in your hold and you couldn't fathom how a god was so affected by your touch, did you really affect him this way or he was just too nice to deny you?
"Explain Naughty, what does it entails?" he asked you so you smirked before you lifted your hips up and scooted even closer to him so you were sitting on his crotch,
"A bit of this" your hips gyrated back and forth and it made him moan ever so timidly, his cheeks were flushed again, as much as you hated those bruises on his face they did give him an edge, he looked so battered and hurt and you just wanted to keep pampering him in every way until he was all healed and happier.
Your palm cupped his bulge and he placed his head down on the back of the sofa, you felt his fingers digging in your hips but it wasn't hurtful, far from it.
"A bit of that" you mumbled against his mouth before you kissed down from his jawline,
"Darling" he let out a whiny little noise of resistance so you looked at him "I want this, I do…norns I want you to keep going..I just.."
"Too soon?" You asked him so he shook his head. It wasn't too soon for him but maybe it was for you, you wanted to take things slow and he knew once you both were to indulge in anything this sexual he wouldn't be able to stop and he didn't want to do anything with you that you'd regret later, you meant too much to him for you to regret him like that.
"It's okay baby, it's ok" you stopped teasing him and cupped his cheeks to kiss him as lovingly as you could "Goddd you're so cute" you giggled.
"Cuter than those puppies you seem to adore?"
You looked at him as he questioned, a devious smile evident on his face
"Equally cute..okay moreeeee" you mumbled nervously and it made him chuckle but then his eyes moistened again.
"Thank you princess "
"Well it's just the truth"
"No..for.. everything..i really needed this"
"You have me lo, i promise, i have you baby" he sighed in contentment as you hugged him tightly.
A part of him wanted to reveal everything there was to him, all those ugly parts that he wanted to show you, perhaps you'd still find him cute in his natural state, it certainly was a wishful thinking but there was a possibility that it could happen or maybe he'd make you feel disgusted, maybe you wouldn't want to touch him at all once you see him all blue and bald and scaly, that possibility scared him, but he knew he'd never show you those parts of him again if you'd feel offended by his true self, he knew if you were to be disgusted by his real self then he'd willingly suffocate and kill that giant inside him just to appease you.
He knew he'd do anything for you as long as you'd continue to hold him and care for him like this. And that's what scared him the most.

OnS Chapter 131
Tumblr media
Okay, not gonna lie, I was too lazy and then stuff happened and I ended up having to read this chapter in another site cause I was too late to read it in mangaplus. (;-;)
Tumblr media
Yuu-chan and Mika are hunting bears to eat. I don't know how to feel about this at all since it feels weird to think about people eating bears but I'm just gonna ignore it.
They took down 3 bears, by the way.
Tumblr media
While the two are getting ready to cook, they reminisce on the past on the last day Mika was human. Specifically, the day of their failed escape from Sanguinem. Mika wasn't at dinner time with them, if you guys remember, as he was at Ferid's gathering items and so they ate without him.
Tumblr media
Yuu-chan tells him the kids wished that Mika was there to enjoy the food with them and Mika teases him that of course the others wouldn't enjoy it as much without the main character lol.
Mika is surprisingly being optimistic now, as Yuu-chan have noticed. He says once they bring the kids back to life and he's back to being human they can all eat curry together again.
Yuu-chan asks for help in butchering the meat and Mika declines as he has some strategizing to do haha.
Tumblr media
The two talk over dinner about what they know. Their plan is to get all the sinful keys and bring back to life angel Mikaela. Guren and Ferid have the same plans but instead, Guren just wants to just bring everyone else back except Mikaela.
Tumblr media
lol I needed to save this screenshot here. They're wondering what Ferid's plan is and Yuu-chan says nobody knows what goes on in Ferid's head and it might be something really weird. XD
Tumblr media
They also discuss the reality of the situation that the Mikaela that Guren wants to keep dead is actually Yuu-chan cause he and homonculus Yuu just switched places before. It means if Guren wins, Yuu-chan might have to die.
Tumblr media
With those information in mind, things have changed. Mika is no lon ger hesitant about what he should do and no longer thinking of sacrificing himself since the one the others need to sacrifice is actually Yuu-chan. Mika says he doesn't really care about anything else except protecting Yuu-chan so it's all good.
Tumblr media
Mika has become the happy, not-giving-up guy now between the two of them and the one who has to reassure Yuu-chan that he'd be protecting him. Previously, this was Yuu-chan's attitude in convincing Mika back when they didn't know the truth. Mika is acting more like himself when he was a kid.
Tumblr media
Mika was surprised Yuu-chan didn't offer to sacrifice himself and Yuu-chan replies that he's still confused about which of them is which. They also noticed that angel Mikaela was smart back then but Yuu-chan is-
Yuu-chan cuts of Mika and says he's smarter now. Mika sacrcastically agreed lol. Come on, we all know he lost braincells when he locked away his memories as angel Mikaela but to be fair, he was in a hurry at the time and probably didn't have enough time to keep some important stuff.
Tumblr media
The confusion keeps going and so are these two's identity crisis. Who is who and which one dies when they finally get their goal? Is Yuu-chan gonna keep being himself once he's back to being angel Mikaela? Yuu-chan doesn't mind but Mika doesn't want to lose his Yuu-chan. And Yuu-chan wouldn't want Mika to disappear either if it's the other way around.
Tumblr media
The First Progenitor's goal is to bring all of the angels back. Guren's goal is to bring all of humanity back. Angel Mikaela's goal was to save the First Progenitor which means they have to help the guy with his goal as well. And it would all end with someone getting punished by God.
Yuu-chan's new goal: not let that happen. Yes, like an rpg protagonist, he'd be opposing God now.
Tumblr media
Of course, Mika has to get the reassurance that Yuu-chan is counting himself in the people he's planning to save. Yuu-chan says he's not going to sacrifice himself and he knows Mika could find a way to make things work out.
It'd be very hypocritical of Yuu-chan if he decides to die for everyone's sake when several chapter ago, he's the one trying to convince Mika to not do that exact thing.
Anyways, the two of them make a promise to each other that no matter what happens, neither of them would sacrifice themselves for everyone else. At least, Yuu-chan is making it sound like that. He's letting Mika do all the talking and when it comes to his part in making the promise, he changes subjects and Mika doesn't notice...
Tumblr media
Yuu-chan asks if Mika could come up with a plan since all of their enemies are pretty smart: there's Guren, Mahiru, Shika Madu, Saito and Ferid (I'm surprised they knew exactly which other people are leading their own little operation). Mika says it's fine since they have someone smart on their side, too! And Yuu-chan says that would be him lol.
Since angel Mika gave his memories to homonculus Yuu to keep up the ruse, he probably also gave away his braincells. Yuu-chan should just accept that Mika has them now lol.
Tumblr media
They know that right now, they're the only two who knows of the switch. They need to sacrifice angel Mikaela and none of them knows that Yuu-chan is the real one. Mika and Yuu-chan have to use this to their advantage.
Tumblr media
What would the first part of their plan be, you ask? Going to the Demon Army HQ to talk to Saito, it seems.
______
Holy shit what the fuck is happening in the end there? Are they collaborating? Yuu-chan and Mika's goal have a bit more in common with Saito's and the Progenitor team so this kinda makes sense? They plan to save humanity, kill all vampires (the progenitors just want to die right now after all), and not let Shika Madu do exactly as he pleases.
I am excited to see where this would be going. Mika and Yuu-chan don't plan on letting anyone know the truth after all.
Aaaah!! Mika's acting like his happy and mischevious kid self again. His depression seem to have left since he found out that he's not the real angel Mikaela and therefore not the reason all of this shit is happening. Yuu-chan on the other hand doesn't smile as much anymore. Kind of sad this is how things are going as I want both of them to be happy. I'm glad they still have their silly moments and stupid banter though. They're so cute!
Knowing the switch doesn't confuse me but these two and their discussion made things seem so complicated. I'm now feeling half as confused as I was when I watched Patema Inverted and couldn't tell which is up and down anymore hahaha.
Yuu-chan's goal was to bring back everyone who died and then he adds bringing Mika back to life as a human, and then saving everyone, and now he's fighting God. It's escalating! It sounds so ridiculous but this is how it be. Yuu-chan is not Yuu-chan if he doesn't aim for a miracle.
Angel Mika's switch with Homonculus Yuu makes Yuu-chan and Mika's personalities feel trippy. The happy and smart angel Mika locked his memories away and sort of gave a copy of them to homonculus Yuu so they could properly act out their new roles. Purposely reincarnated to who they are now, Mika as a child was happy and smart and you really would think he's the real angel. The failed escape happens and Mika as a vampire is just quietly observing things and just wants to be with Yuu - just like how his past self as a homunculus was. Now that the truth is known, he's back to having the persoanlity of hius younger self which is a sort of copy of the real angel Mika's personality.
Putting all that in text made me understand why those two are confused.
Excited for the next chapter! I'm so glad there's another site I could read these on and they have the chapters I could backread as well! I'm still gonna read the new chapters in mangaplus to support the original creators and official release but at least I don't have to worry about missing anything just in case something happens and I miss a month.

I wanna hear you talk more about Cody because he makes me insane.
Anon, I would LOVE to talk about Cody. He makes me insane too, he's been one of my favorite pnat characters since I first got into the comic (he was my ultimate favorite until Violet shoved him out of that spot a few months later). Putting all of this under a Read More because it got to be a LOT
It's hard to say what his initial appeal for me was. I think I mostly loved his whole theme of masks and actors and mysteries! The school store scene and its surrounding scenes was my favorite part of pnat basically from the moment I first saw it, and I was DELIGHTED to find out that all of these background characters had insane, hidden depth to them. Cody was especially delightful because him being a dhampir is a crazier fucking reveal than even the school store's existence itself, and once that was revealed it was like a layer of his character had been peeled away. Suddenly his status as the nice, responsible boy was turned on its head, revealing an underlying personality that's a million times more jaded and hurt than was ever previously comprehensible and FUCK it was just so!! Good!! I don't think it was ever about him being a monster, I think it was about the reveal and the intrigue.
I've always loved digging into his character. Before Chapter 8, Chapter 5 was the majority of what we had to go off of for his characterization, and what was in Chapter 5 was already a goddamn goldmine of information. There's a reason why Chapter 5 is my favorite pnat chapter (though my favorite page in the whole comic is in Chaper 4 lmao)!
In the centuries-old past of late 2020, your local weirdo Junk was incapable of separating Cody and Violet from each other in aus, analyses, headcanons, etc. They used to be tied for my favorite character, and it was because I was (and still am) fascinated by their dynamic, the way their respective complexes and insecurities and emotional walls cause problems for them... their argument in Chapter 5 was my favorite scene-within-a-scene for a very long time. All this to say that there's a reason I keep bringing up Violet in a post about Cody; it's still really hard for me to consider one without the other. I love the way they're both protectors (knighthood theming goes crazy in this comic), and I love the way they differ so fundamentally in why they're protectors and how they approach that sense of protectiveness. I love the way Cody jumps to revenge during the Hijeff situation, and I love the way Violet counters that with appalled confusion.
God, can we talk about the revenge thing? The way Cody behaves is fascinating. He's very clearly picked up certain behaviors from his dad, but he thinks that makes him some sort of evil rather than understanding that everyone is a product of their environment. Compared to his dad he's just so... fundamentally kind, with his heart in the right place, but he can't see that because he's 12 years old, in a horrible situation with a horrible parent, and a complicated social situation at school and and-
I'm really glad that he has nice things he can cling to. I can't imagine the nightmare it must be to live in that house. He's got fun clothes he can wear at home on the weekend, he gets to go over to Jeff's house, and those might seem like small victories but they are still victories. I really hope he gets out of there soon. Jesus Christ
Oh oh oh, let's talk about fancontent! I'm going to talk about my own stuff, because there are a lot of very old ideas that will probably never see the light of day otherwise. In the post I'm assuming you came from, anon, I mentioned how I'd mischaracterized my way into the right characterization, and by that I mean both my earliest and most recent interpretations of him really played up his cutesy, smiley demeanor. Very anime girl esque vibe, very over exaggerated movements, very 'actor in a play' type energy. I would often come up with au's that would shove him into some sort of magical girl role, often paired with a healthy amount of body horror for the tonal dissonance. It was, of course, also an excuse to put him in cute, fun outfits. To this day I struggle to draw him in normal outfits that don't make him look like the leader of a magical girl. (If you want a funtastic magical girl au that was actually made for me, check out astralibrary's AU over here.) One of my favorite au's I've ever made was one in which Cody was a magical warrior from another world who fell through a portal and ended up in an ordinary, spirit-free Mayview, where he then had to rely on Violet to get him through the day normal-guy-style. Looking back it's one of my favorite au's in part BECAUSE it involves so many shenanigans revolving around Cody trying to be normal and failing miserably. I believe it to be accurate to canon LMAO
I have so much more I could say about him but I think I've hit the point where I can't put my thoughts into words. To wrap it up, here's a compilation of my favorite Cody panels and bits of official art;
Tumblr media
^Chapter 8 Page 44!!
Tumblr media
^Chapter 5 Page 44!!
Tumblr media
^Chapter 5 Page 58!! I love the way the blur makes his ear look pointy!! You can even see his fangs, a bit!!
Tumblr media
^Chapter 5 Page 57!! I love Zack's expressions for him so much
Tumblr media
^Chapter 5 Page 165!! "So embarassing", he says, as if he isn't VERY invested
Tumblr media
^Chapter 5 Page 167!! Top ten panels that permanently altered my brain chemistry
Tumblr media
^Chapter 5 Page 283!! This panel made me nauseous the first time I saw it. Kill your dad, Cody
Tumblr media
^Chapter 1 Page 33!! A classic. I love his Chapter 1 look a lot. I love how he's climbing on his chair/desk
Tumblr media
^I have an emotional attachment to his old cast page photo.
Tumblr media
^CHAPTER 5 PAGE 48. This panel inspired the tiger spectral cody au (not my au, if you haven't heard of it before), and thus made me insane
I think I might have hit the image limit. I got carried away. Here are the honorable mention pages
Anyways. Thank you, anon, for giving me an excuse to go absolutely insane about Cody. I did NOT know this post was going to get THIS long, but once I started it was like I couldn't stop LMAO. I hope you enjoy this thought dump, feel free to send in more asks if you want to ask about something specific/want more lovingly crafted Cody content. If I ever manage to upload a fic to Ao3 with Cody in it, it'll be dedicated to you in the author's notes or something LMAO

Reluctance
((Getting this out before Book 7 Chapter 3 drops))
Cater does not want to wake up. He doesn't want to say goodbye; he's tired of being tired. "I'm sorry, Yuu-chan, but I can't go with you."
Thorned branches slither out of the darkness of the trees and begin to surround Yuu as though they're forming a coccoon. "Cater, wait!"
They're about to vault over the forming wall, but more branches rush in to block the way, stopping them. They look through the gaps and call for him again, watching as he turns around and walks down the path. There are spaces on the branches where the thorns don't protrude, and Yuu grabs these spaces and pull. The branches don't budge.
Yuu spins around their new prison, searching for a large enough gap or a different way out, but there are neither. It's the same all around: branches that criss-cross and leave small gaps. They peer through one of the gaps. Cater is becoming a small dot.
All they can do is cry for him, begging for him to come back.
Please. You need to wake up!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Grim is holding tightly to Yuu's leg like a koala, maybe even like a little kid who doesn't want his favorite person to leave. "Grim, you can still be a great mage in the real world," Yuu says assuringly.
"I know I can be," Grim grumbles, "it's just..." He mumbles the rest.
"What did you say?"
". . . I said, you might not be my henchman. . . and no one could do what you do."
Grim was many things: reckless, cheeky, egotistical, and yet he had moments of kindness and caring, even if it was roundabout. Yuu's heart melted hearing why he was reluctant to wake up. They probably shold have figured it out when they entered his dream, actually. Here, he was an accomplished mage known far and wide and asked for by many people, from the everyday Joe to royalty, and they were his henchman (although, most trusted companion would have been a better title from how he treated them). Violent monster problems, personal meetings, and magic advice, Yuu was always by his side and he made sure no attack hit them. Looking back on this, they were touched by how much he cared about them and wanted them around.
Reaching down, they pet his head, causing the pointed mage hat to go askew. They try to be gentle with their next words. "It makes me happy to hear all that. But Grim, we can't stay here--you can't stay here. None of this is real."
"But why not?" He looks up, defiant and slightly tearful. "It can be if we want it to. It's perfect here. We get respect and cheered on by everyone, there's always food, and we get to go on adventures together."
Together.
"But I'm not going to be here." Yuu watches his face turn into disbelief and confusion. "I can't stay here, Grim. I need to go back home, everyone is waiting for me and I really miss them."
He looks away, bitter with traces of jealously. He knows; he was there to comfort them when they cried out of homesickness or sat with them when they stared forlornly at the moon some nights. After all that, he can't not want to help them get back home--except, after getting a taste of what could be through the dreams, he finds he can't let them go. Whoever is waiting for Yuu back home is so stupidly lucky.
"As your friend, I can't leave you dreaming forever. There are things out in the real world that can be just as good. There are Ace and Deuce and the others, and whatever may be waiting for you when you become a great mage. Not to mention, you may be looked to if something terrible happens, and I know you wouldn't miss the chance to show what you got. Am I right?"
". . . Yea--"
"Great Grim!" A man runs up to them, panting and clearly panicked. "There's a dragon attacking the village! Our mages are doing what they can, but it's too strong. Please, help us!"
Yuu quickly kneels down and places their hands on his shoulders. He had just been about to answer and Yuu can see from his eyes that he was about to agree to help. "Grim, this is only a dream. None of this is real and you won't be blamed for anything if you don't help. We can go back to the real world together and forget about all this. You just need to come with me."
The dragon roars, shaking the ground and frightening the birds into taking flight. Distantly, there are cries of terror and pain. "Please, we need you!" the man pleads. "If you don't, everyone will die."
Grim glances between the man and Yuu. Finally, he makes his decision. "I. . . I'll help."
"Grim--"
"Oh, thank you!"
Grim gets out of Yuu's hold and assures them that it'll just take a few seconds. "Just wait here. I'll be back!"
"Grim, no!" Yuu reaches for him as he begins to sprint to the village, but the man grabs their wrist and covers their mouth. His eyes suddenly become a poisonous emerald green and a familiar smile adorns his lips.
"Now, now, we don't want to ruin the moment he defeats the dragon and celebrates his victory, do we?"

Finn made hushed sounds as he encircled you in a hug and sat beside you. You cried into his arm, shaking as your emotions rushed through you. You felt his arms tighten around you and Isaiah sighed from across the room.
"Dove," Isaiah murmured as he cleared the space between you and practically fell on top of you both, causing a pile.
You fell back as the boys sprawled on you, and you couldn't help but let out a small giggle. Isaiah playfully poked your side.
"There's m'girl," Isaiah said, his voice still thick from sleep. "What'd the asshole do?"
"A devil visited my boss and I've found myself unemployed," you said as your voice cracked and tears threatened your eyes. "John didn't have time to do it. He was with me all night."
"A devil?" Finn said as his face soured. "There's only one devil in Small Heath and John's not him."
"What's Tom got against John having a girl?" Isaiah asked, confused. "He's never even talked to her. Why would he get her fired?"
"He spoke to me once," you whispered, looking up at the ceiling. "At Arrow House, when John first took me out."
"What did he say?" Finn asked, moving back to look at you quizzically.
"Told me not to distract John from the war," you said, throat going dry. "Called 'im a general."
Isaiah cursed under his breath.
"Guess boss man decided you were a distraction after all," he frowned.
"Yeah, and without a job I'll be too busy being homeless to distract his brother."
Isaiah rolled his eyes before nudging you.
"Neither of us are going to let you sleep on the streets," he reasoned. "And no way John let's his girl be homeless. Probably just move you in with the kids."
"I like my flat," you whined. "And it's too early to shack up with John. I want the kids to know me and approve before that ever gets mentioned. I don't want to be a stray he takes from the streets."
"Alright," Finn said. "Then work for us again. You made enough twice over for this place baiting."
"Nah," Isaiah said before you could respond. "She said she's done. Let her be done."
They all laid together in silence for a moment.
"You won't take handouts and you won't bait," Finn said. "Then talk to Harry. He has been complaining for help for ages."
"How is working the bar better than baiting?" You huff.
"Work days so Harry can sleep," Isaiah said. "You'll get the old men and whatever meeting Tommy has going. Harry can rest up for the night crowd."
"I'd be there with Tommy?" You asked. "Wouldn't he just get me fired again?"
"Nah, dove," Isaiah said. "Enemies close, and all that. You smile and keep your head down, he'll assume you fell in line and forget you exist."
"Fall in line," you toned. "Right."
—-
Harry jumped at the help, promising to pay you since the tips would be shit. You fell into the slow routine of the bar during the day pretty easily. You cleaned the mess from the night before, tended to the regulars and made note of any alcohol that was running low. Surprise, it was mostly whiskey.
John was upset that your boss fired you, but his face went blank when you repeated that your boss said a devil told him to. He got quiet and wouldn't speak of it again.
You continued to date John. Oftentimes he would take you to work in the morning or out to dinner when you got off. You both settled into a routine with each other pretty easily.
Katie started visiting you at the bar during the day occasionally. You would sit her in the corner of the bar with a glass of ginger ale and as many cherries as she could stand. You both would giggle and she would tell you about the babies or what she was learning. You lived for those little interactions.
Finn and Isaiah would come in to hassle you right before your shift ended, usually signaling to the regulars that the night crowd would soon take over. Their energy and rowdiness shooed the regulars out but was infectious to you. John would appear in the doorway to see Finn or Isaiah spinning you in circles on the middle of the floor, your laughter echoing the room. You would stop, out of breath, and look up to see John leaning on the doorway, arms crossed but a little smile on his face.
"Enough playing, boys," he called. "She's mine. Clear out or go bother Harry in the back."
You raced to John and leapt into his arms. He caught you and you peppered him with kisses as you giggled.
"That good of a day, eh?" He chuckled. "Did the men finally give you a tip?"
"Only not to bet on the horses," you said. "Or do, since I know who rigs 'em up."
"Could always cut out the middle and move in," John said as he nuzzled into your neck. "No need for a payout when it's all yours anyhow."
"Nothings mine without a ring."
"We'll go today then," John said, turning toward the door with you in his arms.
"John," you gasped as you hit his shoulder. "What about the kids? Don't they have a say?"
"Love," he chuckled. "We've all been in agreement for some time. We are all just waiting on you."
—-
Tommy barely looked your way, even when you served him. You played nice and kept your head down at first, worried what Tommy might do to you. To John.
John and Tommy both shared the same Shelby blue eyes, but the spark behind them was vastly different. John's were crystal clear, like a stream on a summer day. Tommy's were like ice on a pond, threatening to collapse and pull you under.
The first time you brought Tommy his whiskey, you felt a chill come over you as he watched you intently. You fought yourself not to freeze, focusing on your movements so they stayed fluid. You wouldn't let him know he bothered you. And just as fast as his gaze was on you, it was gone. He didn't look your way again.
You became furniture, just more background as he navigated his dealings in the corner "office" of the pub. You enjoyed not being seen by being present, you learned things pretty quickly. Like even though Tommy's brothers thought they were included in decisions, ultimately Tommy got what he wanted. And slowly that began to show more and more.
Occasionally John would sit in on happenings with Tommy, but more often than not it was Arthur. You grew to appreciate the gentle giant. He never said anything about that night you ran, you weren't entirely sure if he even remembered, but he was always nice to you and seemed happy for John.
"Sweetheart," Arthur winked at you as he tapped on the bar top. "Round of whiskeys, eh? Wet our whistle before this old dusty bloke bores us to tears."
He motioned to the older man that was sitting with Tommy in the room talking. You grinned, putting your hand on your hip.
"It's not even 10 in the morning and you're on to whiskey?" You teased. "Today is going to be a long day, I take it."
Arthur grunted.
"Ayuh," he said quietly as you brought him the shots. "Brother wants to run for government, which means greasing a few dusty palms and kissing babies and the like. We've got the people's vote, but he's got to convince the bloody uptight assholes to let him on the playground."
"Government?" You said incredulously. "What's got Tommy wanting to go straight?"
"Government is as crooked as they come, sweetheart," he smiled. "They just hide it better than us. But what does every man bend over backward for, love? Tommy's got himself a girl to impress."
You raised your eyebrows before leaning closer to Arthur.
"Arthur," you whispered loudly. "Lizzie is a fine woman and all, but a tenner will impress her as much as being a Government official. Tommy hangs the moon to her already."
"Not Lizzie, love," Arthur said gravely before he took his shot. "Another woman. Did a number on him before, but now she's back. He can't let go of a high society woman. Something about it really fuels his fire."
"What's a high society woman want a Birmingham king for?"
Arthur smiled, taking the second shot before sliding you the glasses.
"Tommy doesn't see it, but she's got ambitions of her own, that one," Arthur said through a clenched jaw as he looked off.
He looked at you and smiled again, taking your face into his hand as he gently squeezed your cheeks.
"None of this is your worry, love," he said. "John will keep you away from all that nonsense."
"John will," you said as you looked up at him. "Or Tommy will?"
Arthur's smile turned into a grimace and he patted your hand softly. He turned away and went back into the room.
—-
"What is my niece doing here?" Tommy said, on a rainy morning as he walked into the Garrison, John and Arthur in tow.
Katie stopped kicking her dangling feet at the bar as her dad and uncles walked in.
"She's visiting me," you said as you slid her some more cherries. "For our weekly girl talk."
"I don't need you filling her head with nonsense," Tommy said offhandedly as he took his coat off. "Be down the road with you, Katie. Go visit Aunt Pol or help with your siblings."
"No," Katie said as she plucked a cherry and popped it into her mouth. "I like her. I want to stay."
"See what happens when you choose a wild girl, John?" Tommy said. "She makes your daughters wild, reckless things that don't listen to their uncles."
"Better wild than caged like a pretty bird," you shot back. "Your high society woman smile pretty and show you around with her friends, Tom, or are you still trying to earn a reputation above your station to make your pretty bird sing?"
Tom stilled as his icy eyes looked directly through you.
"And what do you know of society?" He asked calmly. "You'd be on the streets without this job."
"I was doing just fine before a devil got me fired," you said as you smiled, but the smile never met your eyes. "But we shouldn't talk about that, should we?"
"John," Tommy said, turning to him. "Fuck her in the backroom, kick her out to the streets, or marry her for all I care, but leash your woman around me before I kill her."
Tommy walked into the corner room and slammed the door. No one moved.
John let out a long sigh as he scrubbed at the back of his head with his hand.
"Well," he said with a lopsided grin. "You heard the man. Marry me already."
Katie giggled. You looked at her.
"Are you okay with that, Katie?"
"Silly," she said as she wiggled in her seat before plopping a box on the bar. "I helped him go shopping ages ago."
You gasped as you looked between them both, but grins on everyone's faces. You opened the box to find the most beautiful but simple engagement ring.
"Are you both serious?" You said.
Katie nodded as John walked behind the bar to kiss you.
"If you'll have my crazy bunch," John said. "I'd love to make you a proper wife."
"There's nothing proper about you," you laugh as you kiss him back. "But I would love to be your wife."
"And our mum," Katie said. "Can't forget that part."
"Never," you smiled at her.
"Bring me a bloody whiskey, barkeep," you heard Tommy bellow.
You rolled your eyes, moving to make his drink instinctively. John moved to stop you but you shrugged him off. You slipped the engagement ring on, gave him a peck on the lips, and carried Tommy's whiskey to the little secluded room.
"Now that I'm to be your sister in law," you said cheerfully as you slammed his drink in front of him on the table, showing him the ring in the process. "I don't expect you to care, but I do expect to be around more. To grate on your nerves. I don't know what tamed looks like to you, Mister Shelby, but I don't plan on shutting my mouth. So if you're going to make John a widow a second time, at least have the balls enough to look me in the eye as you ruin my life. I want the devil to look me in the eye."
Tommy looked at you, mouth pursed as you leaned over the table at him.
"Welcome to the family," he said as he picked up what was left of his drink. "Now fall in line."

LOL Is it too early to ask for a teaser for Chapter 18????
Well now I know why none of the words I sent in for the ask game worked. For some reason, I thought they met in this chapter. Apparently, I got screwed up somewhere with chapter summaries. So it's Chapter 18 they come face to face? I guess in LA. I thought they met again in Seoul. Boy am I screwed up!
Okay, let me be serious here for a bit. I have a lot to say about this chapter. I'll probably be all over the place, cause my thoughts are all over the place right now.
I think she has moved on slightly more than he has. And when I say slightly, I really do mean slightly. It's clear as day from his POV he has not moved on. He still saves stuff of her. Even though he said he meant to get rid of it, there is clearly a reason why he hasn't been able to bring himself to do it. I think Bam is the only thing holding him together right now. A distraction, I guess. If he didn't have Bam, I think he'd be in worse shape. Further evidence of him not moving on is when he ended the video chat with Yuna when he heard OC come in. He's not ready to face her because it will bring up all his unresolved love for her. And then when he's in Seoul, he asks if shes dating Yoongi. These are all clear indicators he hasn't moved on. He may be doing okay without her in his life, but that's entirely different from actually moving on. There's no way he'd be able to have another relationship right now. He's still not at that point.
Strangely, I liked his conversation with Alex. I kinda feel like she has changed a bit. But I didn't like that she didn't seem to acknowledge her place in screwing up his relationship with OC. She seemed to be more sorry that she did what she did to him, rather than be sorry that he got dumped because of it. She even said that she was sorry that happened, that he seemed to love oC very much. But she still did what she did a year ago, knowing how in love he was with OC. So while I agree that she seems to have changed, she still hasn't owned up to what she did enough for me to completely forgive her.
His conversation with his mom confused me a little. I did a little double take when she asked him not to "hurt her again". Clearly, she's talking about OC. But why would she think he'd have another chance to hurt her? They're not dating, it's been a year, what are the odds that they'd even become friends again, let alone date, or be put in a position where he could have the opportunity to hurt her again? So I really can't figure out why she said that to him. Obviously, as the reader, we know that they're gonna end up together, but from his mom's point of view, she doesn't know that.
Now, for OC. This line got me: "Every day, you chipped away another piece of Jungkook–the more you chipped, the easier it became." And this line is exactly the reason why I think she's moved on more than JK has. Her step by step deletion of his contact in her phone was hard to read. It was sad. And her process showed that she was ready and has moved on. By her calling to hear that disconnection message, it was still a way for her to be connected to him. So by deleting his number, it was her way to severe that last connection. And then she smiled about it, like it was a relief that she was able to overcome her heart and break that last tie. And she was proud of herself. We never learned if JK deleted her contact information.
But then she went and got annoyed at Yuna for not telling her JK returned to Seoul for a few days. And it was written that OC probably would have cut her trip short to come back. So then I was left wondering hmmm, maybe she hasn't moved on as much as I thought. That's why I think she's only moved on slightly more than JK. Like why would she cut her trip short to see him? Is it because she misses him but doesn't want to admit it. Or is it because she wants to prove to herself that she can be in the same room and not have old feelings resurface? Or is it because she wants to see if he's been able to move on more or less than her? We don't know yet. And I'm excited to see what their reactions are to each other when they're finally in the same room together.
As for the LA thing, that's interesting. I really did think they would meet again when he was in Seoul. But it makes sense now what the chapter title for 18 means. He's probably in shock to see her in LA. He'll probably see her someplace completely random. That will be fun to see. But if that's what happens, I like it. I like their reunion possibly happening away from all their friends and family. A neutral setting like LA would remove the pressure that family and friends will put on them. I would like to see their reunion be more private between the two of them, away from prying eyes. This way they have more of a chance to talk things over and work their problems out.
putting this under a cut! <3
could mama jeon be onto something? 🤔 maybe she can predict the future.
I might've posted a teaser a while ago! Lol
jk is clearly still in love with oc and yes, bam is definitely a distraction. he's basically trying not to get his hopes up atp
alex - it was big for her to even apologize to jungkook for what happened in seoul, and who knows if she'll apologize for ruining his relationship. i think she's taking in one step at a time.
oc - i'd say her relationship with jk was a harder one to let go, just b/c she's known him for so long and she has strong ties with his family. it would be hard to basically 'cut him out' of her life completely when she's still bff with his sister. and she's doing her best to move on, but there will be times when she backtracks (two steps forward, one step back).
oc felt cheated out of her choice when yuna didn't tell her. in the moment, she thought she would've been tempted to make an excuse to stay, but it also could've been a moment where she still chose to go. perhaps oc thought it was a missed opportunity to really prove that she had moved on.
btw, i love all your questions and just from my experience, don't we all want to see if we're doing better than our ex? 😅 but it could also be that a part of them still miss one another and they're afraid of seeing the person move on and be happy with someone other than them. (and from jk's pov - it seems like oc is doing better than him).
🫢 yes, the long awaited reunion will happen in LA w/o family and friends around, which I think will be better for both. it'll be a fun chapter for sure 💖💖
as always, i love your thoughts and opinions. i appreciate you!

Warrior Cats Chronological Liveblogging Part 1 - Dawn of the Clans - The Sun Trail - Prologue & Chapter 1
Prologue
Oh Warrior cat's prologues, how I hate thee. But that's not unique to Warriors. I find that prologues are often a huge turn-off. Starting a story with a bunch of vaguery is an easy way to disengage me. But maybe this one will exceed my expectations?
So far, yes, actually! It's doing a good enough job setting up a situation that'll be immediately relevant, and giving us some fanservice in the form of an appearance from Lion's Roar and Half-Moon! Fun.
Half-Moon gets our first divine intervention: a bright glowing sunlight that only she can see. This apparently means, according to her, that she needs to fracture her group, and send a bunch of people away, so that they won't starve. Amazing and coherent logic as always, Warriors...
Also she's still simping for Jay's Wing lmao. Bitch his fucking soul is time traveling or some shit.
...Okay, probably she gets to spend time in the afterlife with him in the time before he reincarnates, but I'm not sure they ever confirm that explicitly. So. Sad.
Chapter 1
Here we meet our POV character, Gray Wing. Lame name for a main character, honestly, compared to the others. Not to mention that we see his name RIGHT after seeing the name Jay's Wing, and I bet that caused someone out there to conflate the two.
...Unless he's another reincarnation of Jay's Wing, which would be hilarious, but also not make sense, so it's definitely not the case. It's such a stupid idea that I'm almost proud of it though.
First mention of Clear Sky! I remember him being the most interesting character of the part of the arc that I got through as a kid (first ~three books or so?), slipping in and out of a hyper-violent psychosis or something- though I feel like we don't see any of that this book.
Not a fan of how this initial scene characterizes them. It sets Grey Wing up as some kind of ahead-of-his-time good guy, by having him adhere to a standard of unselfishness that would become a formal rule in the decades to come. Meanwhile, Clear Sky gives us a hint of his dark side, being put out by his brother's insistence that they give away their catch.
Grey Wing insists that they'll be fine, because they're the best hunters in the tribe- but in that case, they could bring back whatever they catch next... I mean, I get that there are legitimately cats that need it more, starving kittens and all, but I don't think it's invalid for Clear Sky to want to eat the food he caught, and I'm annoyed that it's being used as a way of hinting at him being evil. I think that moral systems that villainize the absence of good actions rather than the presence of bad ones are prone to asking far too much of people.
...I mean, you could argue that it isn't actually hinting at any of that about these characters at all, and I'm reading into it too much, especially considering that Clear Sky relents easily, and that Grey Wing thinks that his brother knows this is the right thing to do. But then, this scene would be somewhat pointless. So.
And now this hawk that was described as scrawny is described as huge. Grey Wing says "it wont feed every cat". Implying that it comes anywhere close to doing so... maybe? I think??? Most of the cats in the clan proceed to get one bite. Top tier descriptions Erins! Not confusing at all. It's a minor problem, sure, but I fear this will be a reoccurring issue now that I'm old enough to notice such things while reading.
Bright Stream is introduced, and immediately shown to be a love interest for clear sky.
Followed... by... a sex joke...????? A really heavily veiled one, because these books are ostensibly for kids, but it's still slightly more risqué than usual.
Half-Moon tells everybody that they should leave because she's dreamed of a place full off sunlight. Grey Wing thinks that's stupid. Clear Sky thinks that sounds great. Bright stream is unsure, but immediately gets judgy over the idea that Clear Sky might go without her, rather than continuing to suffer the cold and starvation...
And that's the end of chapter one.
Back to masterpost.

Hart and Hunter - Chapter 4 - Part 2
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
Dane Hunter
"You're also my mate and I love you. Let me fuss."
He sighs but submits as I continue to check him over, taking his pulse and removing the sunglasses to see if his pupils are responding to light.
They're still blown wide, the irises nothing but a thin ring of amethyst around a black core and I slide the glasses back in place as he winces in pain.
His skin is still a little cold and clammy and I grab a blanket from the back seat and cover him. I know he doesn't like it when I hover but he doesn't understand how ingrained the instinct is.
My mom had her first child 'me' at twenty-three, and her last 'Ingrid' at thirty-seven.
With seven siblings spaced over those fifteen years, I naturally became a kind of third parent... a second dad, almost.
I sometimes had to make decisions in my siblings' best interest that they wouldn't have decided for themselves, bedtime, bath-time, when enough was enough.
I'd carried that sense of responsibility with me to the service and while it hadn't made me popular, it had served me well.
Julian's not a child, though and he's not my subordinate.
He's my equal and my partner.
But sometimes I struggle to find the line between caring and control, between doing what he wants and doing what I think is best.
I try to compromise.
"When was the last time you saw a doctor?"
"What?" he asks, his eyes snapping open behind the sunglasses as he turns to look at me.
"I just mean... have you been to a doctor? Had x-rays, blood-tests?"
"The hell are you asking me, Dane?"
I tug on my hair and sigh, realizing we should have had this conversation a long time ago and that I'm doing a bad job of bringing it up now.
"Look... Wolves have markers in our blood. A human doctor wouldn't know what they are but they'd know it was something unusual. They'd probably think it was a disease of some kind. Same with x-rays. Sometimes our bones or joints don't look quite right. So, we avoid those things. What about you? Could I take you to the hospital right now if I needed to or would you end up in a secret government lab somewhere?"
"Jeez, Dane," he sighs and leans into the headrest again.
"I'm fine. And I don't know. I've had plenty of blood tests. I used to get them pretty regularly when I was younger because..." he bites his lip, probably thinking I'd rather not hear about his exes.
"Anyway, no men in black ever showed up to take me away and I've never been sick enough to need the ER. I don't need it now, either."
"How do you know?" I challenge.
"Have you ever passed out like that before?"
"No, I haven't but we've got an obvious line of cause and effect. My senses were already at full receptivity from reading the store. I touched the symbol and whatever energy it held knocked me flat. I'm already feeling better."
"You stopped breathing, Julian," I snap, frustrated by his refusal to see things from my side.
"If I'd passed out and stopped breathing, would you just take me at my word that I'm fine?"
He doesn't speak for a moment and then clears his throat.
"No. I guess I wouldn't. I'd be worried, too. How did that work, anyway?"
I squint, confused.
"How did what work?"
"You were in the military. Don't they do random drug tests and stuff all the time?"
Sighing at his attempt to change the topic, I give up and start the car, turning my attention to driving us home.
"They do but I wasn't the only one. We've got... networks, I guess. Shifters and Wolves at different levels in the chain of command. The higher ups shield those lower down."
"Who shields the higher ups?"
I stop at a light and check my rear view mirror as I catch the wail of sirens in the distance.
If Stephanie called the cops when we left, they'll be here soon.
The station's only a few streets away.
"Does it matter?"
"Just curious," he mutters, slouching in his seat.
"Yeah, that's what the cat said, too."
He mutters something else but before I can ask him to speak up and share with the class, more sirens distract me.
These are louder and coming from a different direction.
The light turns green but I stay where I am, not wanting to block the path of emergency vehicles.
A moment later, an ambulance flies around the corner, sirens screaming and zooms off in the direction we'd come.
Julian presses his hands over his ears, being sensitive to sound as well as light and twists to look back through the rear window.
"Stephanie didn't call 911, did she?" he asks.
"No, I told her not to. They wouldn't send an ambulance without confirming one was needed, anyway. Must be something else."
I turn the car around.
"What are you doing?" Julian asks, sitting up.
"Why are we going back?"
"Just curious," I say, throwing his line back at him with a crooked smile.
We pass Stephanie's shop and see her standing outside with her arms crossed, frowning and shielding her eyes as she looks down the street.
At the end of the block, two police cruisers, a fire engine and the ambulance have parked in front of Jeffrey Lagrange's bicycle shop.
I pull into the nearest parking spot I can find and unclip my seatbelt to get out.
Julian reaches over and grabs my arm.
"Wait... where are you going?"
"To check it out. Stay here."
"Like hell."
He fumbles with the buckle of his own belt.
I reach over and take his hand, putting the tiniest trace of Alpha in my voice... just enough to get his attention.
"Julian."
He stills and looks up at me warily.
"What?"
"You're okay, right?"
"Yes. I told you, I'm..."
"Okay. I believe you. Now I need you to listen. Stay here and rest. I'll be right back. Please," I add, after a slight hesitation and squeeze his hand.
He looks at me tensely and then... to my relief... he relaxes, whatever he sees in my face having convinced him.
"Alright. Don't take long."
"I won't."
I lean over and kiss him before getting out and walking toward the scene.
A cluster of officers gather near the front of the shop and a pair of EMTs attend to a crying woman.
As I approach, one officer... a rookie I don't recognize... turns and lifts a hand.
"Sir, keep your distance. This is a crime scene."
At his side, my former boss, Chief Laura Coleridge, turns and lifts grey brows at me as she waves the officer off.
"Hunter. Fancy seeing you here."
"What's going on?"
She nods at the shop.
"Mr. Lagrange's store was burgled last night. Apparently, he confronted the thief."
My interest sharpens.
"Is he hurt?"
"Nope."
I glance at the ambulance but Coleridge continues before I can ask what, in that case, it's for.
"He's dead," she says.
I pause to absorb this information.
"Homicide?"
She shakes her head.
"Unclear. I got a feeling, though. You know the one."
I do... instincts aren't just a wolf thing, humans have them, too and Chief Coleridge's are especially well-attuned.
The one she's referring to gets honed in cops over time, the feeling that something is off with a scene.
"So, what brings you to this neck of the woods?" she asks.
"According to Erickson, you and Hart were here the other night as well."
Silently cursing my erstwhile co-worker and knowing that Coleridge will find out soon enough anyway, I tell her what Julian and I had discovered so far.
"Actually, I'm glad you're on the case already," she says.
"I was just thinking of calling you."
Taking out her cell-phone, she pulls up a photo and angles the screen at me.
"That mark you found in Wong's... it looks something like this?"
I study the image and nod.
The symbol in the photo is different but similar in style.
"Not exactly but yeah."
I show her the photos I'd taken earlier.
"Wong will show you where it is... I told her to point it out."
She taps her screen and to my surprise, my cell-phone pings and I see she's sent me the image.
"We found it near the body," she says.
"This is evidence," I remark, although she's obviously aware of that as well as the fact she shouldn't share it with someone who's not a cop.
She nods, hands on her hips as she surveys the scene, watching as police, paramedics and other personnel do their jobs.
"Look. I know you said you're done with the violent stuff, Hunter but I think we could use you on this one. Hart, too. You want in?"
I glance back at my car.
Julian will absolutely want in.
He's eager to put his Fae abilities to the test and what happened today won't dampen that enthusiasm one bit.
On the other hand, the thief may have just proven himself more than capable of delivering on his threats.
Maybe what Julian doesn't know won't hurt him.
"Chief. Come look at this," an officer calls from the scene.
Chief Coleridge raises her brows at me in invitation but I shake my head.
"Nah," I say.
"Not this time."
She gives me a knowing look and pats my arm.
"Call me when you change your mind," she says and walks away to see what her team has found.

Chapter 3- Mornings
Masterpost
(fanfic tags in masterpost)
The mornings in the Sharp Tank were almost always hectic. An average morning after a 'Big Night' (their term for a night that meant every member of the sharp gang had to sleep over) would have Alexis and Stirling fighting Astra off from stealing all the pancakes as Benny dragged a very grumpy and tired Champagne out of bed to get food before Astra stole all of it, and a flustered Mara sneaking out of Astra's room as Kate hid a snicker behind her coffee mug. Ana would bully Jake about his atrocious bedhead while Heath would chuckle loudly. Vasila's jaguar was always more active when she was tired, and she was not afraid to hiss at people who got too close to her bacon. Charlie would be a typical chipper morning person after a night of successful charging or a tired grumpy mess after a night of unsuccessful charging while Kayla chugged coffee either way and Tayrun frantically wrote his dreams down. Gooby would eat his gopher-kibble (which is a thing that apparently existed) and Harold would run in, usually last because he wasn't going to disgrace Ms. Ludam by showing himself to the enemy unpresentable, grab some toast and cause chaos while the night-owls groaned at his cheerfulness.
This morning was largely similar, except far quieter and Harold did not run in last. Harold did not appear.
This did not help Benny, who's foot had been violently tapping against the floor before he eventually just grabbed a piece of toast from the pile and escaped to his on-site workshop, which had the almost-finished scraps of two full mechanical arms on the workbench. Benny scarfed his toast down before starting (only because champagne had made him promise before he left) and finished Harold's temporary right arm.
It was nearing midday when he found himself outside Harold's door, holding his new prosthetic arms in one arm and knocking with the other.
It was a few minutes before Benny realised that Harold couldn't open the door and swiftly opened the door, revealing a tried Harold standing in the middle of the room in the same clothes he was in yesterday (not like he changed clothes much in the first place) with a tired expression on his face.
"Arm delivery!" Benny chirped awkwardly. Harold blinked at him. "What?" Benny faltered. "Your mech arms. They're probably not gonna fit quite right yet and they're only temporary while I get the proper ones sorted. They would've been done last night but Champ convinced me to sleep instead which, yeah, fair." Benny rambled, beckoning Harold closer, smiling. Harold stepped closer, but still looked confused.
"You.. made me arms?" He asked, sitting with Benny on the floor so he could attach the prosthetic arms onto him. "Of course i did!" Benny chirped, rolling Harold's sleeve up.
"Why?"
"Because you kinda need arms-"
"No, why are you letting me stay?"
Benny stopped, looking at Harold. "Did you think we wouldn't?"
Harold purposefully looked away "I don't work for Ms. Ludam anymore. That's why your rats kidnapped me." Harold stated.
Benny nodded, continuing to attach Harold's arm. "Yeah, but just because she fired you doesn't mean we were gonna just kick you out."
Harold blinked in surprise. "Oh." they didn't say anything else until Harold's new arms were fully attached.
Benny sat back on the balls of his feet and smiled at Harold. "How are they?" He asked. Harold flexed his arms out and smiled warily. "Weird. I haven't had joints in a while." He explained, and Benny nodded. "I can try to make the final arms like your old ones if you want." Benny offered, and Harold shook his head "Nah it's alright. Thanks Sharp" Harold grinned as they both stood up.
Benny was about to reply when they heard a sigh from the doorway and looked over to see Alexis standing there with a slight smile on her face. "Glad to see you've finished Benny. I'm pretty sure Harold hasn't had breakfast though, right?" She offered. Harold looked down at his crumpled old uniform and was about to deny until Benny interrupted with a grin "Eh, don't worry about looking good, you should see the kids bed hair. and Silli's pretty much always a cat in the mornings."
All of Ms. Ludam's rules were pushing him to say no. He should say no. He should learn how to make himself presentable with these new arms then steal one of their watches and go to beg for Ms Ludam's pity.
"Well if you insist then I suppose I must."

Chapter 25 - Part XXV - The Battle of Hogwarts (Part One)
The first thing you notice when you arrive at Hogwarts is the sky.
Maybe it's because you fell backwards onto the ground, and the high was what was within reach of your gaze, but you can see clearly that the exact moment Wanda apparated you and Charles into the castle, was also the exact moment when the protection spells broke.
The great force field placed in the castle, breaking into luminous pieces in front of your eyes, would be beautiful to watch in any other situation.
Now, it just means that you arrived just in time for the fight to begin.
A gentle touch pulls you up, helping you stand.
Wanda's concerned face checking to see if everything is okay, and you have to push the ringing in your ear from the adrenaline to absorb her words:
"[...]Charles is not breathing, Y/N! Help me!" And suddenly your heart is beating so fast that you have barely stood and are kneeling again, now next to the man who has fallen to the ground.
"What happened?" you asked worriedly, watching him squirm, the wide wound in his throat.
"He splinched! I don't know why I-"
"It's okay, Wanda, give me your hand." You interrupted her trying to calm her down, pulling her close. "Do as you did with me, I'll help you."
"I-I don't know how, I-I-"
"Trust me, then, babe." You guided quickly, as Wanda lowered herself down beside you, and you intertwined your hands at the height of Charles' wound who was almost passing out. "Breathe, let your magic flow with mine. The same way you healed me, help him."
Wanda tried to control her nervous tears, taking a deep breath. Her hands trembled on top of yours.
But as soon as you felt her magic, you focused.
It was a strange feeling, healing someone with Wanda's magic.
A soft sigh escaped her lips, and then it turned into a laugh of relief as the wound began to close.
Within seconds, Charles was blinking in confusion, trying to sit up, breathing normally.
"Hey buddy, how are you feeling?" You asked, touching his shoulders, and he shook his head.
"O-okay." He replied breathlessly, impressed. "Thank you, ladies."
"What happened, Charles?" Wanda asked worriedly, helping him stand. The sky exploding around you.
"We appeared a second before the protection spell broke, girls." He explained as he looked up at the sky, "I figured it would be worth absorbing the damage, rather than putting you two in danger."
"That was stupidly brave, buddy." You mutter making him laugh.
"Let's hurry up, I think the fight is on the other side."
You were near the entrance to the stone circle, just before the Wooden Bridge. There was no one there, but the force field was disengaging almost completely at that point.
Grabbing the Sorting Hat that had fallen from your head, and the sword that Gryffindor Charles had made a small belt for you to hang on your back, you ran beside them toward the castle.
As the distance diminished, your body began to shiver.
Wanda was in danger here.
You pushed the feeling away, trying to ignore it.
She intertwined your hands together, trying to give you a minimum of reassurance as you crossed the wooden bridge.
"Don't come any closer!" Someone shouted from the edge of the entrance, his wand raised.
The person saw Charles, who was in front, first. Hence the hostility, you guessed.
And then he recognized you and Wanda.
"By merlin, it's them!" Shouted the boy. "Tony, it's your sister!"
You choked, stepping forward.
Tony stumbled out of the area he was covering, and had half a second before he recognized you for you to catch up to him, jumping on his neck, hugging him tightly.
"Idiot, your friend almost stupified us!" You fought between tears as he laughed in relief and hugged you back.
He let go of you to hug Wanda too, but the loud noises of explosions in the distance made you exchange knowing glances about continuing.
"We need to go, the walkers are coming through the front entrance." He directs, but before you guys can move, there is a loud whistle.
You turn toward the bridge entrance again.
There is a large group of wizards there, who have probably appeared in the forest.
"That's why we're here, Y/N. I put a bomb on the bridge. Come right in." Tony says quickly, pulling you guys off the bridge.
The group of wizards is led by a grim-faced man with a huge scar on his face.
"Stop hiding, children!" He shouts as he walks.
Tony exchanges a look with the boy who was watching, and shouts.
"Come on, don't you think it's pathetic to attack a school, Digger?" Tony teased, clearly wishing the man would advance on the bridge. "You sound desperate, buddy!"
And this Digger guy seemed to get annoyed, but his gaze fell on you and Wanda, and his expression flashed with anger.
"My, my, is the Scarlet Witch am I seeing? You guys are fools."
You would have moved forward, wiped that sick smile off his face, if Tony hadn't cast an incantation on the end of the bridge, which caused a huge explosion.
He rushed to get you guys out, pushing you back into the castle as the wooden bridge was destroyed and that whole little horde of walkers was defeated at once.
"That was incredible!" The boy from earlier commented as soon as the explosion was over, "I'm Scott Summers, nice to meet you all."
You frowned at the outstretched hand. The name was not unfamiliar to you. But it wasn't until Wanda discreetly whispered in your mind that he was a friend of Jean Grey's did you recognize him.
He greeted everyone quickly before Tony turned to you.
"What the hell are you doing here anyway?" He asked, now almost annoyed. "Mephisto is here, somewhere outside the field. Neither you nor Wanda should be anywhere near him."
You started walking back to the castle, as you spoke. "You shouldn't have attacked now, Tony, you don't understand. He can't die, it is an ancient magic, it's called horcruxes and-
"Well, break it then!" He interrupts impatiently, because you guys are running and he is trying to get to the others soon. " Actually, tell me how to break it, and go back to Strange's room, that psycho can't lay eyes on you."
"No chance, I'll fight with you." You contradict, and Tony turns around with a grimace, but doesn't have time to protest, because by the time you reach the inside of the castle, it's insane.
There are many wizards in there, from the order, from the ministry. Also, a lot of classmates and children. Your first thought is to mentally curse Stephen for not sending the students home.
But someone jumps on your neck. It's Gamora, hugging you so tightly that she almost knocks you to the ground.
"By Merlin, what you're doing here, you can't be here-"
"Good to see you too, little sister." You interrupt in a tearful laugh, some members of the order recognizing you as well, but they keep moving on out, probably to deal with the rest of Mephisto's army.
"She said something about death magic, Gamora, just get her out of the castle before he knows they're here." Tony warns and he looks at you for a second before following the crowd of wizards outside, wand in hand.
"Let's go down the top hallway and-" Gamora says, already pulling you along, but you don't move from your spot.
"No you don't understand, I need to destroy two things, and I need to know where Pietro is." You say quickly, and Gamora blinks in confusion before answering.
"I think Piete was covering the Suspension Bridge entrance but-"
Wanda is already running before Gamora is finished, and honestly, no chance in hell you won't follow her.
Gamora shouts your name about four times, but the crowd of people keeps her behind.
"We should get back to Agatha, girls." Charles tries to ration, but you and Wanda keep running.
Hogwarts has never been so crowded.
The students are getting desperate, and you think that's why they seem to be running everywhere.
The stairs are changing very quickly too, and you and Wanda grumble impatiently as you struggle to get to Pietro by them.
It's when you reach the third floor frame that you lose your breath all at once, and almost fall into the gap between the stairs, but Charles holds on by the cover.
"Stark, what is wrong?" he asks worriedly, and hearing this Wanda stops running, turning to check on you immediately.
But you're not listening.
I know you're here, child. And I'm going to kill every one of them if you don't give me back what’s mine.
You choke, shaking, blocking your mind. Mephisto had managed to get in for a second, long enough for you to fall to the floor.
"It's him." You gasp accepting Charles' help to stand properly. "He got inside my head, and he knows we're here, Wanda. We need to hurry."
"I have to find Pietro and-"
"I know, let's find him first and destroy the Horcruxes."
In the Suspension Bridge area, a duel was going on.
A small group of walkers were trying to invade the castle through that zone, and Professor T'Challa, along with Pietro were covering the place.
You didn't recognize any of the wizards, but it didn't matter much, because Wanda attacked them the next second, her magic going by the free space between Pietro and T'Challa to hit the three wizards with a wave of energy all at once, which threw them off the bridge.
The two boys turned around confused and impressed, but Wanda jumped on Pietro the next moment, hugging him tightly.
"Sestra!"He said, shocked, matching the squeeze with a tearful laugh. You smiled at the scene, but looked forward, and your stomach gave a complete flip.
"How touching, a family reunion." Hela mocked as she slowly approached, behind her, Loki and three other wizards you didn't know, "It'll be worth killing you all together then."
T'Challa attacked first, but Hela used a magic you had never seen before.
It was a black claw, coming out like an extension of her own hand. It didn't break apart with your teacher's stupore spell, but rather darted through his chest.
You let out a loud exclamation, widening your eyes.
T'Challa fell down to the floor, dead.
"Did you like my new trick? I learned a few months ago, when Maximoff brought us out of the forest. I needed to learn how to never let my bunnies run away again." Hela narrated as she pulled the claw back. "Nothing fairer than to use that on him don't you think?"
But you attacked, furiously.
A shower of spells began. Agatha's lessons had been worth it.
You were dueling three wizards at once.
Charles joined you at your side, while Pietro pulled the professor's body out of the way, sniffling softly.
And then Hela was aiming her claw at you again, and you had no idea which spell to use.
You know the spell. Kill her.
Hela missed as you pushed that sinister thought away.
Wanda hit her in the ribs with a wave of magic and she let out an angry and painful scream, the claw hit the wall behind you, narrowly missing your face.
You muttered a “Thanks, babe”, realizing that the claws had a regarch time.
Your problem for the next ten seconds was to keep your mind blocked from Mephisto, ignore the trembling in your body from having Wanda in danger, and dueling three witches at once.
Everything was under control.
Until Hela took aim at Wanda.
"No, she belongs to the dark lord!" The witch next to the woman shouted, but too late, because Hela shot.
And Pietro reached Wanda before you did.
He pushed her to the ground, and the claw went through his chest.
"N-no!" Wanda screamed, and everything exploded around you in a bright red light that threw you and everyone around.
You shook your head as you tried to understand what had happened.
But you raised your eyes to find Pietro on the ground, and Wanda standing there, a red circle around her before she attacked Hela with a energy so strong that completely disintegrated her.
And then the other three witches were targeted.
You reached Pietro, choking on his own blood.
Just like in Wanda's vision.
"Piete, no." You gasped tearfully, as you pressed your hands to his wound. "Please, buddy, keep your eyes open."
He just stared at you, losing his strength.
You could feel Wanda's liquid fury in your veins as she kept fighting.
And if you couldn't help her now, you would help Pietro.
The sorting hat fell from your head as she cast the spell, and you looked at Charles picking it up off the floor, a confused but impressed look on his face.
On the brim, the Hufflepuff's cup.
You remembered Agatha's memories in the same second. About the cup healing the wounded, like it healed Thanos' colleague.
And Charles threw it to you before you even asked.
As soon as it touched your bloody hands, the cup filled with a transparent liquid.
You recognized the appearance because Charles was an excellent potions mentor.
Pouring the fluid into the wound, Pietro cried out. His skin burned as it closed, but the wound gradually cleared.
"Wanda, he'll be okay, look!" You shouted, and it was the same second she was going to aim at Loki, who was already on the ground, his hands raised in pity.
She gasped out her own magic, turning to you.
Pietro was pale, but he was healed. And Wanda quickly knelt down to you, and you stepped back so she could hold him.
"Destroy it now, Miss Stark!" Charles directed as soon as the cup rolled from your hands to the floor.
You waved frantically, but when Wanda threw you with the magic, the sword fell forward as well.
And it was Loki who reached for it first.
"Give it back!" You ordered, wand raised to the boy with the mixed look of fear and anger in front of you.
He just shook his head, and seeing the validity of the item, and understanding that he had no chance of facing you all, he ran to the edge of the bridge, sword in the air.
"Stand back or I'll throw it." Loki warned, and you obeyed, your hands raised in the air.
"Loki, please give it back."
"What is it?"
"It doesn't matter, just give it to me."
"She killed my sister, Y/N." Loki accused then, his eyes filled with tears.
"And Hela tried to kill Pietro. I'm sorry, Loki, but we're not the ones fighting on the wrong side."
"Wrong side?" Loki let out a humorless laugh. "You have no idea what he's done do you?"
"Who, Loki?"
"Odin." He retorted in disgust, his sword swinging over the edge. You swallowed dryly, trying to think of the possibilities of reaching Loki before he threw the sword.
"No buddy, I don't know what you're talking about."
"You think you're fighting for the right side?" He angrily accuses. "Odin killed my parents!"
You frown in confusion.
"Is that why you are fighting for Mephisto? Is it for revenge?"
"I am a child of late autumn, Y/N." He clarified, and you widen your eyes. "Odin killed my family."
You shake your head. "No, Loki. Mephisto searched for the children, he wanted to find Wanda. He-"
"Do you really think only the dark lord was looking for the children of the prophecy?" He interrupts angrily. "Everyone was. And when Odin came into my house, my parents thought he was a walker, and they attacked. And Odin killed them. And because he loved to play the good man part, he took me to live with him. All these years, I never knew. Until Hela told me the truth."
"Do you think fighting for Mephisto changes that? Odin made a mistake in lying to you, that doesn't give you the right to follow a dictator."
"None of them had the right to lie to me." He continues angrily. "Your side pretends to be good, covering the lies for each other. But it was Odin who broke into my house and murdered my parents. He stole me. He stole my life."
"And I'm sorry, Loki." You said sincerely. "But teaming up with someone worse doesn't fix things. Give me back my sword."
"What is it for?"
"To destroy horcruxes."
Loki hesitates. He looks at you doubtfully, and then at the object at his feet.
"You are lying."
"No, I'm not." You return. "Please, Loki. We are friends. Don't make me take the sword from you by force."
Something in his eyes changes for a second. “Friends? Even after what I did?”
You swallow hard, nodding. “You knew it was me. That day. But you didn’t say anything. I think it’s because you’re not like them. You’re scared, like the rest of us.”
Loki just looks at you for a moment, then throws the sword on his other hand and advances against you.
But it’s not on yourself that he aims, it’s in the object at your foot.
The second the blade pierce the cup, a dark magic energy flows out of it. It throws you and Loki away, right to the floor.
You see the image of a furious face emerge before it completely fades away.
The second horcrux was destroyed.
Coughing a bit, you feel this sharp feeling behind your neck, and close your eyes.
Fool child. I will not have mercy on any.
It’s Wanda’s touch on your face that brings you back to reality. She’s pulling you to stand, worriedly looking at you as Charles carries Pietro inside.
“I’m okay, love.” You whisper weakly as she checks you, but you’re looking at Loki, who has the sword in hand, sitting on the floor. “You did it.”
You tell him, somewhere between proud and impressed, but the boy just seems tired. He swallows hard, as if trying to control the urge to cry as he stands up.
“There's little I know about my real parents, Y/N." Loki says approaching. "And one of those things is about their contempt for magics like Necromancy. There are things I need to figure out on my own. Loose ends in my story, that will now be harder to unravel without my sister, or my mother. But I will not follow anyone who is willing to kill others to avoid his own death. I think I'm pretty evil already."
Loki hands you the sword. You swallow dryly, holding his hand over the item.
"You're not evil, Loki." You say. "You just made the wrong choices."
He gives you a sad smile, the explosions getting more powerful. The fight is getting worse, and he sighs, moving away.
"Hela said he was looking for a chamber in the castle, something underground." He tells you, and before you can thank him, he has disappeared before your eyes.
You turn to Wanda, and she already has an understanding look on her face, knowing where you should go.
"Go. We'll join the main entrance." Charles said, but Pietro moved to protest, and Wanda touched his shoulders.
"No, I'm not leaving you two alone!" He shouted, but his sister shook her head, ignoring the tears.
"Up here, you'll be safer than with us." She said with her voice full of emotion. "Please, Piete. Just...go."
"Wanda..."
"Now."
Pietro swallows dryly, and hugs his sister one last time before heading back inside the castle with Charles, running towards the loudest noises.
"Let's end this, darling." You say as you intertwine your hands together.
//-//-//-//-//
It is in between stumbling around the crowd of wizards running through the third floor to the stairwell that you remember that you don't know how to get into the chamber of secrets.
"Wanda, wait." You say giving a gentle tug on the hand that remains entwined with you the whole way.
And she turns around curious and concerned, but you just shake your head.
"We don't know-"
"Let's find my father then." She interrupts and you give a short laugh.
"Stop reading my mind." You tease as she pulls you to walk, a mischievous smile on her lips.
You make your way down the stairs back to the second floor, and an explosion in the nearby hallways catches your attention immediately as a group of first-year students scream and run away from that direction.
You and Wanda exchange a glance before moving forward, only to reach the almost completely destroyed hallway. A huge crater had been opened in the wall by a giant outside, who was looking in.
"Witches!" Said the monster in a loud, slow voice, as it noticed you inside.
You choked, stumbled and pulled Wanda away, before the giant could stick his hand into the hole and grab you two.
“Okay, not this way.” You comment as you run the opposite direction, screaming to the students outside to go the other way around.
Back in the Grand Staircase, there are wizards on brooms.
You frown, not understanding what the point of that is, but you figure that in their desperation, the students have tried everything.
And then there are walkers coming in from the upper floors, and you understand that whoever is in the air was trying to prevent them from coming down.
"Darling, where do you think your father is?" You ask worriedly, looking up to see two seventh-year witches knocking out a walker on the uppermost stairs, flying between the staircases with their Quidditch brooms.
Wanda didn't respond as one of the walkers hit a staircase, blasting the steps with a bright spell, and she quickly stopped three students from falling, pushing them back to safety with her magic.
Slightly out of breath, she turned to you.
"Upstairs." She says.
You let out a sigh. The upper floors, and the main entrance are where the fighting is at its worst. That's where your bond will leave you breathless due to the danger Wanda will be in.
But you just nod, and guide Wanda between the stairs, occasionally exchanging spells with the walkers who make it down.
Professor Erik is nowhere to be found.
You and Wanda are running for about twenty minutes, and it’s getting hard to ignore the way the bond is begging you to take her away from danger, as you feel an insistent headache and chills around your body.
As you stop to catch your breath, around the fifth floor, you keep your head down, as you lean against a wall with your hands on your knees.
“What is it, babe?” Wanda asked worriedly, her hands coming to your neck. “Merlin, you’re pale.”
“I’m o-okay.” You say back, feeling a bit nauseous. “I think we’re close to ending this, love. That’s why i-”
But a strong explosion cuts your line, the magic doing it’s job to protect Wanda for the wreckage that came flying all the way around. Someone just destroyed the sixth floor, the remains of the explosion flying to the halls, all the way down the stairs.
Coughing a bit, you get up, helping Wanda stand properly as well.
Before any of you can understand what happened, there’s a wizard jumping on you.
“I got the protector!” He screamed as you two fell through the air, in the gap between the stairs. The walker could turn into some kind of flying mist, and even though you were struggling against his grip, you couldn't get loose, and the ground was closing in at a considerable speed.
Your ears had an irritating ringing, and from the way your whole body shook, someone had reached Wanda too.
But then the feeling diminished.
And as you fell, you saw the characteristic light of Wanda's magic, before the walker's mist overwhelmed your vision, and you crashed against the steps, cascading to the last floor, as your back hit the stairs many times before you hit the ground.
Groaning in pain, you felt your whole body aching as you tried to blink and locate yourself, all half blurred around you.
You thought someone was calling you, and trying to ignore the whole accident to focus on the feeling that you needed to protect Wanda, but just as you started to get up, something came around your ankles, and started dragging you.
"Keep them busy, you useless bastards! The dark lord just needs the protector for the ritual." It was the last thing you heard before the bruises from the fall knocked you out.
//-//-//-//-//-//
There was an insistent ringing in your ears when you opened your eyes again.
And the floor was cold and damp.
It took you a few seconds to realize that besides the water, your clothes were wet in places with blood from your wounds.
Your whole body ached, but you didn't mind.
Because every cell was screaming Wanda's name.
Find her. Protect her.
You choked as you forced yourself to move, noticing your surroundings.
“Wanda?” you gasped breathlessly, trying to locate yourself. It seemed like a long hallway, and it was dark.
You could hear the explosions from the castle, even if they were muffled.
Someone chained you to the walls, and you realized that there were voices in the distance, and as you sat up, you tried to understand what they were saying:
"Harkness is going to help with the ritual." Someone commented. "Our master and his apprentice are finally united again."
"I thought he wanted to kill the girls." Retorted the male voice.
"The dark lord wants the scarlet magic, but he can only get it with Agatha's help, because of the fusion she did. I think she managed to convince him not to kill the children. For now at least."
The voices grew closer, until two tall, frowning wizards with their faces hidden by skull masks turned down the corridor, catching up with you.
"Hey, the sleepyhead is finally awake." Teased the taller one, raising his wand toward you to make the chains force you to your feet. "Come on, they're waiting for you."
Fighting the chains was useless, but you did it anyway.
And your head began to pound. Wherever Wanda was, she was in danger. Or maybe it was because she should be in great stress right now.
As you were dragged down the corridor, you were startled by the magnitude of the snakes embedded in the stones.
And then it occurred to you where you were.
Salazar Slytherin's chamber of secrets.
The walkers led you to the center, and as you reached the place, you noticed that colorful runes were drawn on the pillars, and candles were flying around. And in the middle, a pentagram that you didn't recognize.
What frightened you the most, was the gigantic basilisk skeleton in the corner of the room, perched like a work of art. You deduced that many years ago, the mortal remains of the creature were moved back into the chamber to avoid the curious.
It was no less frightening.
The wizard from before, hit your knees with a colorful spell, and you fell to the ground, facing the pentagram.
"Wait here, protector." He said, and then gave a little laugh. "Not that you have a choice."
"Fuck you." You grumbled but then gasped in pain, the torture curse hitting you in the ribs then making you curl down on the floor.
"Stop it, Zsasz!" Asked the wizard next to you, pushing the other's wand away, and consequently making the spell stop. You gasped with relief. "She's not ours to play with."
"Tell her to behave herself then, Vormund ." Retorted the angry Zsasz fellow. "I hate those half-bloods."
"Calm down, you idiot." Warned the other. "This will be over soon. Don't do anything to annoy the dark lord again. He's already pissed off enough with the destruction of the darkhold."
You widen your eyes, and let out a humorless laugh.
"Ouch, your master lost his little book? What a pity." You teased helplessly, and almost regretted the kick to the stomach you received, but the infuriated faces of the walkers made it worth it.
"You won't keep that little smile on your face when I rip out your spine!" Threatened Zsasz, causing you to lock your jaw by the wand on your neck.
"What's going on here?" interrupted a female voice, coming from the hallway.
It was a woman you didn't know, without a mask like the other two. And her confident posture, or perhaps her presence, made the walkers jump away from you.
"N-nothing, ma'am." Answered Vormund quickly. "The half-blood was being rebellious an-"
"And you two assume you have any right to correct her?" Cut the witch snidely, moving closer. "This must be a joke."
The wizards exchanged glances, but bowed their heads.
"Forgive us, Lady Mystique, it won't happen again." Said Zsasz, but the woman just held up her hand telling him to keep his apology.
"Go back to the entrance. No one must interrupt the ritual. And the dark lord is on his way." She said simply, and the wizards looked at you one last time before they started walking off in the direction they had carried you.
The Mystique woman waited until they had disappeared down the hall to look at you.
"I'm sorry for the hostility, dear, in the best of words, they are brutes." She said, waving so that the knot in your chains loosened a bit, which lessened the pain, but did not free you. You also felt a slight push on your back and legs, forcing you to stand gently.
"Do you expect thanks for the mild torture, ma'am? Not going to happen." You retort between teeth, trying to look around for some way out. But the chamber was dark and you didn't know the place.
The Mystique woman seemed to find your harshness amusing, and gave a short laugh, following your curious gaze.
"Even if you try to run, they will catch up with you." She says, making you lock your jaw.
"And even if you escape the spells, you won't be able to ignore the bond."
You have no argument really, so you just sigh. "What are they going to do to me?"
"The dark lord wants the scarlet magic." She answers. "And he needs to break Agatha's spell to get it now."
“But if he kills us, the magic will be gone.”
“That’s why he’s breaking the spell before killing you two.” She states simply, as you feel your stomach turn. But her eyes are gentle, and makes you confused, so you try to bargain.
“Please, you can’t let him do that, he’s insane and-”
“Enough with the begging, i hate it.” She cuts impatiently, but not cruelly. “Just do what you’re supposed to do and don’t freak out.” She whispers and you can hear steps coming closer. “We’re ending this for once.”
You frown, but Mystique is putting her hands on your arms to spin you around, making you look forward.
Widening your eyes, you take a step forward.
"A-Agatha, help me!" You ask quickly, watching the woman come out of one of the hallways to meet you in the center, wand in hand. "They're trying to do a ritual and-argh!"
Your speech turns to a groan of pain as Mystique's magic throws you to the floor on your knees, bending you over.
"Kneel in the presence of the dark lord, child." The woman warns beside you, and you choke as you feel your whole body shudder.
In the tunnel beside Agatha comes a man, whom you recognize well.
"Agatha, what's going on?" You ask confused as you see her walk beside Mephisto, to the center to meet you. And her expression is impassive, and you want to vomit. "Professor, what...?"
"Just look at that child, old friend." Mephisto interrupts, assessing you as you walk. "How did someone so weak get chosen to protect my sorceress?"
You lock your jaw, staring angrily at the wizard. He nods to the witch beside you, who also bowed.
"Raven, dear, thank you for taking care of everything." He says. "You may go, we will need privacy for the ritual. Go up to the castle, my sorceress needs to stay busy as much as possible until we're done here. And then you can leave it to me, I'll go after her myself."
“As you desire, my lord.” Raven says before getting up and leaving.
"After everything, you're going to betray us?" You accuse Agatha angrily, but she says nothing, just deflects her face to Mephisto, who gives a short laugh.
"Only a fool would believe that wizards like us do not belong together, Miss Stark." He says, and with a flick of his hands, all the candles in the place display a green flame. "Let's get on with it, Agatha. I need your help now that that fool destroyed my book."
"Yes, Faustus." Agatha replied before nodding toward you, and the chains glowed purple, steadying you tightly against the pentagram, which also lit up. "Let's begin."

Part 4
London. Arriving to London was much the same as when you arrived to Paris. The Baron ignored you throughout the flight, you were in the follow up car to the hotel, which once again as the exact place you would expect a Baron to stay at, and then you were situated on his floor until he was ready for his meeting.
You figured at this point every meeting was going to be pretty much the same. Maybe you would be able to come up with some fun little games to play while you stood on guard.
You might as well since this was going to be a long process.
The Baron leaves for his meeting and you all follow him. Once again it's pretty much the same as it was in Paris. A meeting in an official building where alliances and such would be discussed and they would make a deal.
You began to wonder if your mental state would be able to handle so many days of this.
However, none of this seemed to last long.
On the dawn of the second day, you all got up and positioned yourself on the hotel floor like before. The Baron got dressed, was escorted to breakfast, returned to his room for a bit, and was then escorted to his meeting as per usual.
The only difference was that Steve wasn't present that day. He had recieved a call earlier from Stark, the big boss, and had to take it. Sam had taken over Steve's postion beside the Baron that morning.
Steve wasn't present on the way to the meeting that day, but he showed up just as the meeting started. He came over to where you and Bucky stood.
"We have an issue."
You both look at him, waiting.
"They're here. I have word that the group who are after the Baron is in London and they're in the area," he keeps his voice level.
You share a glance with Bucky.
"Instructions?" You ask.
"Pay attention. I don't know where they are, where they'll come from, but if they really are here, we have to act fast. When the meeting is over, do not let the Baron out of your sight. I know he isn't too fond of you, Y/N, but no matter what he says, don't leave his side."
"You can count on me, Steve."
He knows he can. He nods at you and leaves your side, making his way over to the others to alert them. You share another look with Bucky, both of you nodding.
The nod. A silent signal. It can be a greeting, or a full on conversation. It's a solid way of communicating without words.
The meeting goes on for an hour before Zemo exists. As soon as he does, both Bucky and yourself are at his side. You let Bucky do the talking, feeling the Baron will the listen to him over you.
"We believe your life to be at risk. We have word that group are in town and may be here for you. Please do as we say and we make sure you are escorted back to your hotel safely."
The Baron, at first, looks confused, but then he seems to become more serious. He glances at you and narrows his eyes.
"They sent you?"
"Yes, sir."
"Where are the others?" He asks.
"On watch. We can't take any chances. I know you don't think I'm capable, sir, but please work with us here. I'm here to a job, and I will do everything in my power to ensure your safety, sir."
Never before have you spoken to a client like that, but your words rang true. You had a job to do and you were going to do it.
He stares at you.
You can't tell if he's upset with you for talking to him like that, or if he was just trying to think about his options, of which he didn't have many.
"Very well. What do you want me to do?" He asks, looking at you. You don't have time to think about that too much.
"Remain calm as we walk you outside. The car is just outside across the road. We are going to get you inside. I ask that you keep your head down. If I ask you to get down, please get a close to the ground as possible. Barnes and I will shield you then best we can."
Zemo doesn't say anything as he looks at you. He nods. A nod of confirmation. He understood the protocol.
You glance at Bucky.
"Ready?" You ask him.
"Ready."
Bucky and yourself walk on either side of the Baron as you head for the doors. Natasha and Clint are right outside, eyes on the rooftops. Steve and Carol are right behind you. Sam is near the car, waiting.
You step outside casually. Bucky and yourself are trying to note every detail, every person who is on this street.
The silence in the air feels eerie.
You get Zemo out into the street. It's far too quiet for your liking. No other vehicles are turning down the road and that makes you uncomfortable.
You glance down the road.
You're all almost across the street. Looking at Sam, you see he has his eyes on the roof of the building you had just come from.
You don't like this.
You're nearly at the car.
A shot rings out in the air and everything happens all at once.
All bodyguards take out their weapons and keep them up as they try and pinpoint where the gunshot rang from. There was no sign of anyone. The Baron crouched down by the car, you take a knee beside him, Bucky shielding him from the other side.
You focus your eyes on the rooftops.
"I don't see anyone," you say down through the earpieces.
"Nothing," you hear Nat say.
"All clear here," Carol states.
"Clear," Clint responds.
"Don't let your guard down," Steve says.
There's another shot. It strikes the car. You swear under your breath as you look up at where it may have come from.
"Not the rooftop!" You state.
Bucky sees the open window. There's movement within, but he can't get an angle. He looks at you over his shoulder.
"I have to move, you going to be alright?" He asks.
You nod.
Zemo looks up at you, brows furrowed together.
"You're leaving me with them?" He asks, turning back to Bucky.
Bucky looks at him.
"You're in good hands."
Bucky says no more as he pushes away from the car and bolts further down the street, taking cover behind the car you had arrived in. You open the car door.
"Please get in, sir."
Zemo stares at you.
Another shot rings out, another one striking the car. He jumps slightly.
"Give me a weapon, I was military, I can shoot," he says.
"Sorry, sir, but I cannot do that. Please get in the car. I have to get you out of the area."
He glares at you, but he climbs into the car as he is told to do. You close the door behind him and stand up, keeping your back to the car. Zemo tucks himself down in front of the seats. He keeps his eyes on you through the window.
"Crazy," he mutters.
You turn to see Bucky waiting the person in the window. From where you moved to, they wouldn't be have a good enough shot on you. However, you should have remembered the fact that cars had stopped coming down this road.
Load screeching causes you turn around. A big bulky vehicle comes to a stop at the end of the street. Along with the others, you lift your gun and hold it up at the car. Nothing happens for a minute, but all at once the car doors open and several people jump out.
All of them are armed.
Helmut watches you raise your gun. It had been a long time since he felt fear like this. They were here for him.
Gunshots go off. He turns to see three of the people from the car either fall back, or backtrack to cover. The others continue to shoot at his bodyguards.
More gunfire and suddenly he can't see you any more.
Zemo moves and looks out the window properly. You're kneeling on the ground. You're hurt.
Zemo glances up and sees them getting back in the car. The windows are rolled down. He panics all of a sudden.
"Shit." He opens the car door and runs toward you. He kneels in front of you and looks down at you. You look at him, brow furrowed.
"Get back in the car!"
"You're hurt."
"No shit. Get back in the car."
You reach for your gun and hold it up toward the car. The engine revs. They're going to drive right into you if you don't move.
You fire a couple of shots, but they got you in the shoulder and it hurts like hell. You groped your gun and give the Baron a rough shove.
"GO!"
He hesitates. He looks at you. It looks like a lot of blood, but it probably wasn't. Still, he can't help how worried he feels right now.
Why was he so scared?
Maybe because this was the first time in years they had come for him, and seeing you bleeding out in front of him takes him back to that night.
Two strong hands grab him by the shoulders and pull him back. He's startled for a moment. He looks back to see Bucky pulling him back toward the car. He is roughly shoved into the back. Bucky slams the door shut and climbs into the drivers seat.
"Wait, we are leaving them?"
As Bucky starts the engine, Zemo looks outside and sees you passed out on the street. Everyone else seems too busy to attend to you and he wonders what will happen.
He wants to jump out and move you, but the doors are locked.
"Go back!" He yells as the car turns sharply and drives down the other direction.
He just left you there!
Zemo had just seen you do your job. You protected him and took a hit for him. Perhaps more than one hit.
Were they just going to leave you to die?
Zemo tries to keep his eyes on you as Bucky drives, but they're not on that street long enough for him to do so.
Through Bucky's earpiece, he hears Steve.
"Ambulance en route. The gang have reversed out of the street, stay off the main roads and be careful."
Bucky replies, "roger that."
Zemo sits in the back in silence. He doesn't know what to do or what to think. Everything had happened so very quickly.
He was also confused.
Why had guilt settled within him.
You had done your job. He had been wrong about you. He can say that now.
I was wrong about you.

OnS Chapter 130
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaaah!!!! The lore thickens!
I am just dreading to make this since tumblr's post editor updated to being a pain the ass to use lol. I can't just not blog about reading OnS chapters cause it's the only way I can "re-read" them when they become unavailable. Why have the scanlators stopped working on this, I'd never know but I'm sad they don't seem to be around anymore for this manga (I mean I'd still read stuff on mangaplus but if I want to backread at least I'd have a way...).
Tumblr media
While Yuu-chan and Mika are having a chat and probably some potential existensial crisis, Rigr seem to be checking out the 1st Progenitor's memories.
Tumblr media
Would you look at that? He got there at the exact point in the memory world that Yuu-chan and Mika last watched! How convenient lol.
Rigr now knows about Shika Madu's past.
Tumblr media
The reincarnated angels don't remember their past lives but it seems Shika Madu is okay with them living unaware of it. After all, tragic backstories and all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rigr now knowing the truth, it seems he now cares about the 1st Progenitor. Shika Madu might be an asshole but he still cares about his angel subjects even after all this time. He knows it would be difficult and he might not be able to succeed but he's not going to give up hope.
It makes me wonder more what his plan is in the present since he seems to be fucking over those he says he cares about.
Anyways, Rigr ends up crying even if he doesn't have his past life memories which made him wonder if those memories still lie within him somewhere.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not gonna lie, I have no idea what to call him now that it's revealed he's the real Mika. Anyways, he was finally noticed by Shika Madu which is bad cause he has a plan.
Tumblr media
Angel Mika is alive now and he needs to make his father think he's still dead so he asks homonculus!Yuu to take his place. He'd even forget his real identity to make things more convincing.
"No matter how many eons it takes... no matter how many generations we go through... in the end, we'll save everybody!" declared human Yuu whose actually the real angel Mika (this is gonna be confusing lol. I'm calling him Past!Yuu). It didn't matter how long it took and what the circumstances have become, Yuu-chan has always wanted to save everyone no matter when and it's always been his goal.
(I wish I could take the screenshot of when he said this but it's hard to crop with the length)
Homonculus!Yuu seems hesitant at first but he happily agreed with Past!Yuu's plan and he's now the new Mika.
Tumblr media
New!Mika (yes, I'm not calling him that) is given his first task for his newest role. I'm guessing the "seven lights" are the black keys? Maybe? Anyways, he basically made it so that his father would do a bunch of detours before getting to his goal lol.
Tumblr media
Past!Yuu erased (although more like locked away) his memories of being Angel Mika. He promises New!Mika that no matter what, he'd come back and collect him and New!Mika happily promises back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beams of light shoot out from New!Mika and Shika Madu catches one of them. On his hand he finds one of the black keys (I was right earlier! lol). He thinks homonculus!Yuu might've done something but basically thinks "Nah, I made him and he can't think for himself." so he turns his attention to Past!Yuu.
Tumblr media
Past!Yuu acts like he knows nothing (either he's acting or the memory lock worked too well) and Shika Madu doesn't buy it and checks his memories which kills Past!Yuu in the process. Shika Madu confirms that Past!Yuu totally knows noting (lol if only you knew).
Shika Madu laments the fragility of the humans he created as he estimated that they might not even live to be a hundred.
Tumblr media
Shika Madu doesn't realize that close by, Past!Yuu aka the real Angel Mika had been reborn again.
Tumblr media
Aww!! A proper reunion between Mika and Yuu! Yuu-chan had fullfilled his promise! They still don't actually have their past life memories but they're okay with it as they think it'd have been bad if they actually did all this time. After all, it took this long to get this far in their plans and they went through so much that if they remembered everything, it'd have made them suffer more and give up.
They're reminded of the vampires who hated being immortal cause it caused them suffering.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two are now having a discussion on the meaning of (their) life. They wonder why they should keep going and why Yuu-chan should make Mika human again. Mika answers that he wants to live and die with Yuu-chan (aww... that's so sweet!). Yuu-chan asks if that'd really make Mika happy and Mika says he thinks so.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mika is slowly but surely turning into a full demon and Yuu-chan says he won't let it happen. Yuu-chan concludes that they don't clearly remember their past lives and they'd continue living this life and would try to reach their present lives goal: save everyone (especially the dead Hyakuya orphans and Guren and their friends) and turn Mika back to human.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hope restored! Yuu-chan likens their current situation to a video game and thinks that they have a chance now that they know the lore. Mika agrees!
Their current goal? Get the seven keys!
Tumblr media
Oh!! Flashback to eight years ago!
Ferid is wondering why the First Progenitor wants to make a "Mikaela" and what even is a "Mikaela" in the first place. He says he wasn't compatible to become this Mikaela and the First Progenitor himself cannot be whatever it was.
Tumblr media
He also got his hands on little Yuu-chan and Mika (they were drugged and were sound asleep) to check their memories. Someone else is there with Ferid however...
Tumblr media
Ferid asked Guren if Guren had checked the kids' memories and he hasn't yet.
Oh... what does this mean?!
--
That last panel though. Guren looked weird lol. Had their chins always been this round/big? I mean I knew the illustrator's artstyle had changed over the years as this manga had been running for a long time now but this is the first time I really notice. I don't like it lol. Makes them look weird and old. I might not like Guren that much but I have to admit he's handsome and this? Not at all lol.
Okay! We got the lore!! I'm happy and excited and this feels like the most hilarious development I've seen in this story in a while. Angel Mika is smart and immediately have some kind of starting plan for his goal. Sadly, it seems turning himself into Yuu-chan also lowered his braincells lol jk. It seems no one else in this metaphorical chess game realized that someone they wanted to take as pawn is also playing the game.
Guren and Shika Madu totally fucked up their plans all because they were targetting the wrong kid! Especially Guren who had been with Yuu-chan longer in this current life cause his actions in the last couple of chapters made Yuu-chan reject helping him. I think if Yuu-chan had gotten back his memories of being Angel Mika and if Guren knew about this fact, Guren probably would've had a better chance of convincing Yuu-chan to sacrifice himself since Yuu-chan's goal in life (both the past and present) was to save everyone including Mika.
Oh, ther irony! XD
This isn't a perfect story, I admit. I don't think this turn of events had been hinted before (if it had been, then it's my fault I missed all the clues) but I don't care. I'm still having a lot of fun reading.
Mika telling Yuu-chan once again that he'd just want them to live together until the end made me sooo happy! Ah, it's times like these I'm happy to be a MikaYuu fan haha. I remember that in the PSP game, they did mention this also with Mika and Yuu wanting to live and raise kids together. (>///<)
I'm curious now about what Shika Madu is actually feeling about all this in the present. He did care a lot about everyone back then but now it doesn't seem to be the case and he's willing to sacrifice the other vampires just to get his son back. But then again knowing that he could just have them reincarnated, maybe he's okay with sacrificing the current them cause he can just make new bodies for the vampires.
Also wondering why Shika Madu kept remaking the Yuu from Ancient Greece. Did he realize there's something special about this new human? Did he realize that in a way, this was the human form of the homonculus eyeball (actually Angel Mika)? Or did he just think of making a human version of homonculus Yuu cause it'd be easier to experiment on something like him which he could just remake? I wonder if it's the reason why Yuu from Ancient Greece didn't have emotions while the new humans created in the past had personalities or seemingly could have one even before getting possessed by angels?
Also, Shika Madu's tragic backstory is enough to make Rigr sympathize or at least care about him though. I wonder how this would affect things as Rigr hated the First Progenitor and was willing to oppose him. How about now?
That ending there though. What did Ferid mean by "Have you looked into their memories?" when talking to Guren? Vampires have now been revealed to be able to read memories - Rigr and Shika Madu did so earlier and Ferid says he would at the end although I think I should've seen this coming since vampires turn into demons and demons have that ability. Does the question mean Guren also have that power? How?? Or is it Mahiru-no-Yo's power their talking about since she's now Guren's demon? Hmmm..... but then again, didn't they mention a connection between the Ichinose clan and Rigr?
Oh my god, so many questions! XD
I'm so glad I didn't end up taking too many photos cause tumblr had a photo limit for posts and I didn't hit that. Excited for the next chapter! Hope it's as fun as this one.
If I don't get to post anything in the next few days, here's a Happy Holidays to you! I hope you have fun and thanks for reading. :)

Possession
Chapter 2: Do the Right Thing
Tumblr media
song suggestion: Divisionary (Do the Right Thing)- Ages and Ages
The gathering broke up pretty soon after that so things could get done. Alby and Newt started showing the girl around together while Minho went to collect his cot for her. Gally went to the gardening shed and started taking out some things to make room for it. His mind was blue as he scribbled white lines of architecture on it, preplanning what he could do that would be structurally sound, safe, and almost defend-able.
Alby said the bonfire was still on for that night so the boys could let out their excitement, but this was the first one Gally planned to sit out. He was going to get a working blue print, list the materials and put the steps in order, then he was going straight to bed so he could get an early start. He looked across the Glade and spotted her near the kitchen getting a snack from Frypan. He noticed that since she became more resigned to her fate, her expression had flattened out until it was like she had none. No emotions played on her features as she ate, listened to Alby and Newt and was blatantly ogled by boys everywhere.
She said something to Alby, he nodded, and she spoke again. Alby looked around and his gaze came to a halt on Gally, one brow raised in a mix of mild surprise and confusion. Gally tried to be nonchalant as he nodded to Alby, playing it off as giving him a sign it was going well, then he turned away, hoping he’d be left alone. His face felt a little hotter and he wondered what she might have said, but he wasn’t going to do anything to find out.
He stood at his work table, paper and pencil’s littering it as well as his dishes from dinner. He was doing the finishing touches by candle light when Alby came up to him.
“It’s weird not having you in the circle on bonfire night,” he commented.
Gally stared at him a little apprehensively, not used to him making small talk. “Yeah, well.”
“Listen,” Alby went on, leaning on his work table and peering over his sketches. “She asked to start her working rounds with the builders, she said that she should help since this is all because of her,” Alby said as he gestured at all the blueprints and lists on the table.
Gally froze. For one that was pretty shucking decent of her, but on the other hand he was not ready to babysit her first, probably not ever. “You told her no, right?” Gally asked him, trying not to sound hopeful but make it a firm statement.
“I tried,” Alby admitted as he rolled a pencil across the table. “I tried to tell her that it would be hard work and you’d be busy trying to get it done quickly, but she was pretty adamant that she do something to help.”
Gally sighed. It was admirable but annoying.
“Look, just give her something simple to do, something that will take her a while and keep her out of your hair most of the time, just let her do something. I think… I think she felt a little guilty about all the work you had to do for her.”
Right, girls had feelings. Gally hadn’t meant to make her feel bad, he wasn’t even complaining, he was just stating the facts and trying to convey the time restraints he’d be under to get it done in time for her to be comfortable.
“Alright, fine,” he mumbled.
Alby laughed. “Don’t be such a shank about it! Acting all mad that the first girl to show up picked you first.”
“She didn’t pick me,” Gally refuted even as he felt his cheeks go warm. “She’s just trying to be responsible. Which is something we need more of around here,” he said as his gaze roamed over the boys whooping it up at the bonfire. He guessed she wouldn’t be anywhere near that, probably went to bed early. After all, the first day usually came with a massive headache.
“Ah whatever man,” Alby slapped him on the shoulder before taking steps back toward the action. “I hope you don’t get too attached to her tomorrow, she has other rounds to make, remember that. You can’t keep her," his words reminding Gally of the rule the keepers made without her around to hear.
Gally didn’t even respond to that, he just turned back to his work and gathered up his papers in meticulous order and weighed them down with a rock before putting all his pencils and such away in their jar. He strayed to the bonfire for one drink, telling himself it was to help him get to sleep faster, knowing it was really to calm his nerves.
He was the only one up with the sun that morning. He didn’t wake up any of builders yet even though they deserved it for goofing off at the bonfire when they knew a hard days work was waiting for them. He took the opportunity to have some peace and quiet, time alone to really picture what it was he was going to do.
He thought he had picked a good spot for it, close enough to food and the bathrooms that she wouldn’t have to go far if she got up in the middle of the night, but far enough to avoid the sound of the kitchen and the smell of the outhouses. She’d get plenty of shade here without anyone being able to use the trees to get into her house.
Satisfied with the location he measured and marked off the area. Luckily he had been planning on building a house on stilts before this and set aside the things he’d need for it as they had come along. Pretty lucky, he thought as he ran a hand over his short hair, looking up at the place where her house would be, imagining it there in detail.
“Morning,” came a small voice behind him.
He was glad he hadn't visibly startled as he turned around and saw the girl sleepily rubbing her eyes as she walked up. For some reason he didn’t have a response to that, it felt too intimate to say ‘good morning’, he never said that to any of the boys, so he just nodded at her.
“This where it’s going?” she asked as she looked at the markers.
Suddenly Gally was questioning what he had been so sure of a second ago. “Do you not want it here?” he asked her, looking around, hoping someone else was awake by now so he wasn’t alone with her.
“Honestly that was a dumb question for me to ask, obviously that’s what’s going on,” she admitted as she gestured at the plot. “And yes, this is perfectly fine location.”
She was standing about three feet away from him, but they were otherwise shoulder to shoulder facing the plot and it took on this weird feeling that it was their project. A silence sat between them for a moment.
“I’m sorry you have to go through all this trouble for-“
“You have nothing to be sorry about,” Gally cut her off, he kept his eyes on the plot even when he could tell she had turned to look at him. Why had he blurted that out so fast? “It’s just something that needs done, not like it’s your fault or anything,” he shrugged to try and keep it casual. He couldn’t explain why, but he didn’t want her to feel bad on top of everything else she must be feeling.
“Might not be my fault, but I’m still the cause,” she pointed out after she considered him for a beat. Then she placed her fists on her hips. “Well, where do we start?”

I've started to make them a little bit lyric inspired but it's kind of hard atm because they're still strangers, but I think Divisionary with it's line of "Do the right thing, do the right thing, do it all the time, do it all the time" is SO Gally, so therefore it's his song this chapter as he tries to do the right thing for her.
Btw, since everyone in the Glade has a name given to them by Wicked, I was going to give her a real name instead of YN, so let me know about any historical figures you think she should be named after. In Garden of Heathen I named the girl Aussie after Jane Austen since she wasn't a genius but she had the highest emotional IQ, and then in The Reason I named the girl Nikola after Tesla.
If you want updates without following me you can always follow the tag "Will Poulter protection squad" because I'm pretty sure I'm the only one using it and from now on I'll put it in the fic tags.

"Okay, I think that's it." You said, hands on your hips as you and Jungkook walked through your door for the final time.
"What are you selling, the world?" He huffs and puffs.
"For someone who works out often, you complain a lot." He rolls his eyes playfully.
"Where's Tae?"
"Sleeping still." He nods.
"Oh, okay. Ready to go then?" You nodded silently as you grabbed your bag to hitch a ride to the café with Jungkook since he was working today. He starts to talk about the girl who works with you two and how he thinks she's a little cutiepie. He has such a silly crush on her that his cheeks are lightly rose tinted every time he talks about certain encounters they've had. You're happy to see him happy, and you tell him to keep pursuing it since she's a super sweet girl. However, part of you is sad solely because you couldn't say you were 100% happy at this moment. You wish you were, but these problems were hindering you from feeling complete. You just wanted to get past this page in the book.
As soon as you both get to the cafe, you start unloading his trunk and getting everything inside. Jungkook claims he has the last two bags covered, so you walk to the back and take breather just to gather yourself before setting up. But you truly didn't expect to lose it right then and there.
"Okay! I got all the— Y/N?" Jungkook instantly worries when he sees you crying into your hands in the backroom and hurries over to you. "Hey, woah. What's going on?" He gets in front of you, gently trying to pry your hands off of your face.
"Fuck, I'm sorry." You continue to cry as he successfully removes your hands from your face.
"Sorry for what? What's going on?" He wipes your tears with his sweater and lifts your chin to look at you in the eye.
"Nothing."
"The day barely started and you're already crying in the backroom." He says softly. "Don't try and lie to me."
"I just don't know what's going on between me and Tae and it's stressing me out."
"What's going on? Same stuff?" You nod, tears still streaming down your cheeks. You tell him about how he had been super weird about taking Jimin's help and how you both got into a huge argument about it. Then, you told him how last night ended [sparing your poor bestfriend the details] and how you couldn't help but feel used because he simply dismissed you, which is very unlike Taehyung when it comes to arguments and disagreements. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I know he's going through a rough time, but Tae also needs to respect you and look at you as his partner, not someone who's also attacking him or against him. Do you want me to talk to him?"
"No." Simply, no. Because you never get your friends involved like that. You just don't, no matter how much they wanna help. "He looks at me like I am, especially after this whole Jimin thing. I don't wanna say it's stupid because I don't wanna discredit his feelings, but god. Like, should I just do this on my own? Tell Jimin to forget it?"
"No." Jungkook shakes his head. "You're already getting a good start on your goals, Y/N. Don't let that go because of everything going on. Give him some time and space."
"I have been. For awhile now." You sat, feeling completely defeated already, tears still coming down your cheeks.
"Here, I'll go set up and I can take over the table for a bit. I'll ask Isabella if she can cover for a quick second." He stands in front of you, hands out to help support you as if you had lost your footing.
"No, I'll be fine—"
"Y/N, just sit. Okay?" He gives off a small sigh. "Just sit for a second and let yourself take a breather." He gently sits you down and makes sure you don't get up by slowly backing away from you.
"Kook, this isn't Marco Polo."
"I'm just trying to make sure you don't run off because you're stubborn!"
"Hey!" Isabella comes running in, a little confused as to what's happening.
"Hey, can you cover me at the front for a bit?" Jungkook stands back upright in a normal position to ask her sweetly, hands tucked behind his back as he bounced on his feet. This boy.
"Yeah, of course Jungkook." She blushes.
"Thanks. I'll be right back." He gives you a quick look before dashing off. You lay your head onto your arms as they rest on the table, a small headache forming at the center of your forehead.
"You okay, Y/N?" Isabella asks softly as she puts her things away.
"Yeah, sorry. Just a really weird day yesterday."
"I'm sorry." You feel her hand caress your back. "Let me know if you need anything, okay?" She says before shuffling herself out of the room. To be honest, you had no idea what was going on with you, and why you were feeling this way. You were just so sick and tired. Sick and tired of being sick and tired.
This was slowly taking a toll on you, and you weren't even sure if Taehyung realized what he was doing was hurting you in the process.
He can't say he does.
Tae set the weights down back onto the rack aggressively before sitting on the bench, watching Jimin finish his set. They had been working out after lunch, Jimin calling him shortly after Taehyung had fully woken up.
"Are you gonna go to the café after this?" Tae shrugged.
"I don't know, Y/N said she didn't need help and wouldn't be there all day."
"You won't even visit for a bit?" Jimin asks. Usually Tae was rushing to get back to you, but he knew everything that had been going on had been affecting your relationship to an extent.
"We'll see."
"You two coming to the bars tonight then?"
"What are we celebrating again?"
"Nothing. Just getting together like old times. I told Kook, Hobi and Yoongi. They're down." Tae nodded.
"Joon, too?"
"Joon, too."
"Me and Y/N will probably go but I don't think we'll stay long. She has to do that thing at the school—" He scratched his head. "The thing— the exhibit and talking to incoming art students or whatever." Jimin chuckled at how Tae couldn't get his words out.
"It's not whatever."
"You know that's not what I mean." Tae rolled his eyes at him, annoyed all over again at how Jimin had been kissing your ass lately. Cause fuck, the way Jimin had been painting himself as a knight in shining armor, an angel even, was pissing him the fuck off. It made him feel like he wasn't doing enough to support you, or like you couldn't turn to him for help. He hated that feeling, even though he had been rude as hell and showing it in a different way.
"That's fine. Just come out and hang out for a bit." Jimin sighed as he sat on the bench next to him, drinking some water before placing the bottle back down on the ground. "You two doing okay?"
"Yeah, what makes you think we aren't?" Tae asks, getting defensive. Jimin quickly eyes him, reading his body language. He knew Taehyung so well - so fucking well that he knew almost immediately when things were taking a toll on him. Things liiiike.. his parents. As a prime example. Jimin knew Taehyung and his parents obviously didn't have the best relationship, and he knew he took things to heart whenever his father got on him about stupid shit [just like he did over that dinner]. Taehyung wasn't one to show emotion much; he liked showing people he was mentally tough and that he could handle whatever came his way. For the most part, it was true. But, Jimin and Namjoon also knew he wasn't always like that, especially when it came to things that mattered the most to him - his family and you. Taehyung hated to admit it but his family's opinion of him was important no matter what. He was hard on himself because he wanted them to be proud. He wanted to actually feel like he had been doing something good for once. He was still longing for that feeling no matter what he said or did. It was a never-ending battle; like a plot with no happy ending in sight.
"I'm just asking." Jimin threw up his hands, showing that he wasn't suggesting anything behind the harmless question.
"We're fine. I know she's been stressed lately because of work and her art."
"Mmm."
"It's funny." Taehyung chuckles at himself.
"What's funny?" Jimin laughed a bit, confused.
"I didn't expect to be caught up in her like this. After Hana, messing around with all these girls. She's my fucking fiancé."
"Yeah and you better not fuck that up." Jimin stands to gather his things.
"You sound like my dad." Tae jokes, even though he was pretty offended.
"I'm sorry, didn't mean to." Jimin instantly apologizes, knowing everyone had been walking on eggshells around Taehyung lately. "She's a good girl, you've got it good."
Taehyung softly smiles at the thought of you, but he wasn't gonna lie, he was hurt by Jimin's statement. Call him sensitive or whatever, but he wasn't feeling the fact that people were constantly looking at him as a fuck up and hinting at it. It seemed to be a reoccurring theme lately. "You ready?" Tae sighs before grabbing his stuff. They get into his car, departing from the gym to make their way to Jimin's so he can get dropped off before Tae heads home. Taehyung replays yesterday's events in his head, which instantly irks him all over again. But, he has such a soft spot for you that he feels terrible for having been too harsh about it. He was still upset, and he wasn't gonna let up on his feelings. But he knew he should have been better about how he approached it. He knew better than that. He's learned to do better.
➤ FLASHBACK
Taehyung excitedly parks his car at the café to surprise you for your pop up today. He had been working endlessly to finish off finals strongly, and he had been so busy that he hadn't really gotten a chance to help you or support you. He felt terrible about it because you were his babygirl and he wanted nothing but to spoil you for all the hardwork you've been putting in.
He creeps up behind you, bouquet of flowers hidden behind his back. "Excuse me, miss." He says lowly near your ear.
"Holy fuck!" You say as he startles you. "Babe, what the hell! Don't do that!" He laughs.
"What's cookin', goodlookin'?" He wiggles his eyebrows, making you chuckle. "These are for you." He smiles toothlessly as he hands you the pretty bouquet. "And your favorite!" He hands you a Mcflurry cup.
You squeal. "Oreo Mcflurry! Aw, thank you baby." You place a quick kiss on his lips. "But don't ever scare me like that!" You playfully hit his chest, causing him to erupt in laughter.
"You should've seen your face."
"Ha-ha, very funny." You rolled your eyes, causing him to pinch your cheeks.
"How's it going?"
"Welp, I'm almost out for the day." You giggle. "I, uh, may have underestimated." You look down at his hoodie, realizing it was one of the hoodies you had made for a previous collection you sold at Jin's. "Waaaow, cute sweater, who made it?"
"Mm, I don't know if you know her. Her name's Y/N."
"Uh huh?" You nod, hand on your hip, waiting to hear more.
"She stands about this tall." He lowers himself close to the ground, causing you to laugh. "Cute, right? She's beautiful, incredibly smart and sexy. Brilliant visual designer and illustrator. Packed with hella attitude." He pretends to ponder on his thoughts. "I could go on about her, really. She's one of a kind."
"Cute. She must feel lucky." You smile.
"I know, I'd feel lucky if I knew me too." You roll your eyes and playfully hit him. "Ah, I'm kidding." He pulls you into a hug. "I keep this sweater in my trunk."
"Oh, so you keep it in your trunk just for emergency wear?" You sarcastically ask as he holds you from behind.
"Yeah, and cause it's the only sweater I'd choose to wear out of the hundreds I own." You smile up at him. "Mhm, not gonna try and win that one." He places a big, sloppy kiss on your cheek before pulling away. "Show me. How can I help my pretty baby today?"
➤ END FLASHBACK
"Hey, I can't stay out late tonight because of the event tomorrow."
"Yeah, I know." Taehyung says softly.
"Please don't drink too much."
"I wooooooon't." He whines with a small sigh, also slightly offended at that statement. He didn't know what it was, maybe it was the fact that his own father painted him in such a negative light that everything seemed off to him lately. Like people were just out to get him or constantly looking down at him and his actions. A personal attack at who he was. It was slowly piling up for him and he wasn't sure how much more of it he could take.
You prepared a quick dinner while he hopped in the shower. You set his plate aside before taking a look at the mail that had come in today.
Bills, bills and more bills.
You sighed to yourself as it felt like you had just paid things off, but clearly not. Moving into Taehyung's wasn't the greatest idea, being that his space was much more expensive than yours. But, he did have the space you needed for your work. There was money left, but you knew it wouldn't last forever. You hated tapping into your savings and whipping out your credit cards because you wanted to keep yourself clean as much as possible. However, that was proven difficult as of late. It was a sacrifice, especially since Taehyung had cut off his mother's help. Taehyung's pride was such a curse sometimes.
You shook your head, already finalizing the fact that you would deal with it later. You had began to set your things aside for the new student event tomorrow morning. You figured you'd get there early to set up and make your table at neat and cute, so you didnt have to worry much about it right now.
Taehyung comes out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist, hair slicked back and wet. You turn to face him, your eyes wandering down to his chest and bottom area. God, why was he so beautiful? It wasn't fair. You loved him so much that you could crumble even being upset. He talks a whole lot about you being the death of him, when really, this man is going to be the death of you. Truly. There's no debate about it.
Getting to the bar, you both immediately spot your friends in the corner, a huge tower of beer decorating the center of the table. Jimin is the first to stand, coming towards you two with a huge smile on his face.
"Friends!" Jimin yells. "Drink!" He says, holding up two shot glasses.
"Fuck, man." Taehyung says taking the glass. "We just got here."
"So! Y/N needs to be home early remember?" He watches wide-eyed as you two take the shot and make sour faces at each other.
"Okay, I'm good." You say, being that you were the DD tonight. Taehyung could enjoy himself if he wanted to [to an extent], but you definitely needed to be in tip top shape to be a good role model to those incoming art students tomorrow.
Throughout the night, the bar starts to get packed from end to end, you and your friends staying at the table and keeping to yourselves. You could tell Taehyung was crossing the line of pretty fucking drunk, which somewhat bothered you. You literally just told him to take it easy tonight - just for one night - so you could do what you need to do tomorrow.
"Hey." Jimin comes next to you, swinging his arm over your shoulder like he always does. "One more shot?" You give him a toothless smile. Ugh, why the hell not? Your man was drunk, and Jimin had only been helpful lately. You could at least return the favor by taking a shot with him.
"What are we drinking to?"
"You." He smiles. "Your shop. Your art. It'll only go up from here, yeah?" He rose his shot glass up before clinking it against yours and taking it to the neck.
"Mkay, that does it for me." You chuckle. "Thanks for the shot."
"No problem. You doing okay?"
"Yeah, I'm good." You looked at your watch. "Should probably get out of here soon, but Tae looks like he's enjoying himself. I don't wanna drag him out of here."
"We can just bring him home." You shake your head worriedly.
"I don't wanna leave without him." Jimin chuckles and looks over at Taehyung.
"He'll be okay and you'll be just fine tomorrow. Besides, you can make up all the bullshit in the world to tell the incoming students, they'll believe it either way."
"That's mean." You chuckle.
"Come. Let's dance!" Jimin says, leading the way to the empty space near the table. Everyone gets up to dance, Taehyung slipping himself behind you, whispering sweet nothings in your ear.
"Can I at least get one minute with my lady without Jimin interrupting?" He says in your ear.
"Taehyung." You flatly say, looking back at him.
"That's your mad face." He holds you tightly from behind as he sways you from side to side.
"I'm not mad."
"Mhm." He kisses the back of your head. "Why don't you have fun with me for a little? We'll go home after this." You couldn't even stay mad at him, with that fucking frustratingly handsome face of his. He was definitely drunk though, you could smell the whiskey lingering on his breath as he danced with you for a bit. You let him be, just so you wouldn't trigger anything within drunk Taehyung. Everyone around you was having a good time, the feeling of nostalgia hitting you pretty hard. You missed the days where you could get together and go to parties after a long week of school. Or, when you would tease the fuck out of Taehyung as his fuckbuddy during parties, or at the clubs. You know, before graduation and responsibilities happened.
But as one hour turned into two, and two turned into three, you found yourself getting restless. It was nearing 2AM and you had to be at the school by 8am - even earlier just to set your table up. You made your way to the bathroom, hoping Tae would get the point and start getting himself ready to leave.
Right.
Once you were out the bathroom, he'd realize you had been gone for a little and start saying his goodbye's. He'd realize time got to the best of him. Right?
"It's a fucking good time tonight!" Jimin tells Namjoon, laughing with him as he watches Joon act a fool with his dance moves.
"I'm sure it is, since you've been in Y/N's space the entire night." Taehyung says it jokingly, but he doesn't realize it only comes off that way in his head. Jimin furrows his brows at him, his high quickly dying with Taehyung's unnecessary comment.
"Don't start with all that. Not tonight. Everyone's having a good time--"
"Or what, Jimin?" Taehyung chuckles like the petty ass he can be. "You know it's true. Don't you think it's a little disrespectful to be crossing boundaries?"
"Hey, let's step back for a bit." Jungkook lightly tugs on Taehyung's arm as he hears the conversation going south quickly. But Taehyung breaks from his grip, stepping forward towards Jimin.
"You really think I would do that to you?"
"Haven't you already? Swinging your arms around her and shit, being all angelic--"
"Tae, come on. That's enough. Don't." Namjoon steps in the middle. "Let's go outside to get some air."
"You really wanna make me look that bad in front of my own girl?" Jimin lightly pushes him away, Taehyung getting too into his space.
"Enough." Namjoon shakes his head, aggressively stepping in the way to create distance. Taehyung shakes his head and walks off, the rest of the group watching as he walks. You finish off in the bathroom, assuming Tae was already getting ready to go. However, you realize your assumption of leaving by the time you're back is absolutely incorrect because when you get to the table, Taehyung is nowhere to be seen.
"Where's Tae?" Kook looks at you frazzled, before his eyes begin to pan the room again.
"Look, don't freak out, but him and Jimin just got into it and he walked off."
"What the hell do you mean they got into it and he walked off?"
"It's nothing, Tae is just drunk—" Kook squeezes your wrist and shakes his head.
"No, it's not just nothing because you and I both know how he's been feeling lately." You run your hand through your hair. "What did he say?"
"He just got into it about Jimin getting close to you lately, and how he felt like he was disrespecting boundaries." You sigh heavily.
"Fuck."
"We have an issue." Namjoon comes back from out of the blue. "He's not around."
"What do you mean?! Where did he go?" You run your hand through your hair.
"Okay, let's not panic." Jungkook tries to relax you. "Let me go check the bathrooms." Namjoon nods as he continues to look around the room.
"Please? We should get home." He nods to you before he's off to check for Tae in the bathroom. You stand near the table awkwardly, worry filling you quickly the more time passes.
"Hey, you okay? What can I do?" Hobi squeezes your arm, his face flushed with a red tint from how tipsy he is. You give him a small, reassuring smile and nod to try and keep calm.
"I honestly don't know anymore, but I'll be good. I think. We're just gonna look for him and head home."
"Is Kookie looking in the bathroom?" You nod. At this point, you catch a glimpse of Jungkook coming back alone.
"Jungkook?"
"I'm sorry, I couldn't find him in there. I swear I tried."
"So, where the hell is he?" Jungkook shrugs.
"Lets check around again. I won't leave until we find him."
"Have you tried to call him?" You had already beaten Yoongi's question, calling Taehyung's phone only to see his phone vibrating and ringing on the fucking table. "Hm, okay. Maybe not."
"Fuck." You snatch Taehyung's phone from the table. "Is he serious right now? It's about to be 2:30AM. How the fuck can he get lost at this time?"
"Y/N just go home, we'll find him and bring him home." Jimin says, coming back from roaming around the place.
"No, I'm not leaving here without him."
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen." He says, looking at you in the eye. Although he was pretty fucking pissed, he couldn't help but worry about him either. No matter what, that was still his bestfriend. He didn't want anything to happen to him.
"It's not your fault."
"We need to check around the neighborhood." Jungkook suddenly comes back and grabs your arm. You follow him, Yoongi, Hobi, Namjoon and Jimin outside of the bar, the cold hitting your skin harshly.
"Let's split." Namjoon says. Jimin and Hobi split, Namjoon and Yoongi sticking together to go down a different path. You kept yourself close to Jungkook, knowing there were all sorts of drunk ass men out at this hour and you weren't helping wearing a tiny ass skirt and a deep cut shirt.
"Cutiepie, let me come holla!" A dude yells as he tries to swing his arm around your waist. Jungkook easily pushes him off, glaring at him.
"Back the fuck up." He spits out, your bestfriend coming to your rescue amongst the sea of men you're encountering on the sidewalk right now. He throws his jacket over your shoulders, hoping to shield you from them and the cold. "Your outfit." Jungkook frowns, a little worried.
"I mean, I didn't expect to lose Tae tonight." Once you had gotten to a quieter part of the street, you come from behind to walk beside him. "Where the hell could he have gone?" You whine. You're more worried for his safety and wellbeing right now more than anything and all you wanted to do was find him and bring him home, even though you were slightly worrying about yourself and how things would go tomorrow. You could give him an earful later. It could wait.
"He couldn't have gone far." You both continue down the street, heading towards your car, hoping he may be around the area. Jimin calls to check in, saying him and Hobi hadn't caught sight of him yet, and the same thing goes for Yoongi and Joon. You almost want to cry when you don't see Taehyung near your car, but Jungkook ends up walking further down towards the park near your parking spot. "Y/N! Here!" He calls out, running towards an individual slumped over on their knees on a bench. "Taehyungie?" Jungkook sits next to him and shakes him a bit.
"Shit dude, I just kept walking then I suddenly had no idea where I was at." He drunkily says as you sit next to him and sigh heavily.
"No one said you had to do that, Tae."
"I just needed some air."
"Yeah and look where that got you, it's close to 3AM." You respond, irritated.
"Y/N." Jungkook says softly, shaking his head at you as if he were signaling for you to quit with your attitude. "Let's go back to the car." Jungkook watches him stand up and wobble a bit, but eases up when he realizes Taehyung is capable of walking himself to the car. You three get back safely, letting the others know that you had found him before driving Jungkook back towards the club so he can meet with everyone else. You quickly thank him for his support before driving off to head home.
The car is incredibly cold, and silent.
"Love, I'm sorry. I just needed air and got lost." He breaks the silence.
"I see that." You say softly as you drive home, keeping your eyes glued to the road in front of you.
3:23AM.
"Please don't be mad." He gives your thigh gentle squeeze. "I just got a little into my head tonight." You sighed, gently removing his hand from your thigh.
"Taehyung, I'm your fiancé, I'm doing this with you and only you. Do you even understand how worried I was? You just walked off, without your phone. Without saying anything to me. Just cause you got in your head for no reason."
"I'm sorry." He repeats at a whisper. You don't say anything else for the rest of the drive home. You silently park the car and head to the apartment, Taehyung sluggishly following behind you. He knows you're bothered, knowing it's closing to 3:30AM and you had an early morning. Honestly, he didn't realize how drunk he was until he had gotten himself into that argument with Jimin then got lost, especially without his phone. The fact that he had made you worry and stress like that made him feel terrible, especially after these past few days. You could have easily left, but you didn't leave without him even if it was this late. He instantly just wanted to cuddle you and tell you how sorry he was.
You quietly get ready for bed and line your things up by the door, just so it would be an easy quick and grab as you head out in the morning. You slip yourself into the sheets, Taehyung following shortly after he gets himself ready for bed. He shuts off all the lights and grabs himself a water bottle to sit by his nightstand before slipping in next to you.
"I love you." He whispers against your ear, wrapping his arms around you. But you don't respond. He peeks over to see your eyes shut, silently sighing to himself as he nuzzled his head against the nape of your neck. He knows you aren't fast asleep yet, and it hurts him that you hadn't said it back. You both just knew exactly how to love each other well, but also push each other's buttons. But, maybe, it was true - he was just fucking up left and right lately. Enough for you to go to bed without saying 'I love you' back.
