the first reads: “She only has to ask for assistance once, when she’s not sure which bus to get on at the second changeover. The girl at the station tells her that Lockswood is ‘almost suspiciously’ easy to get to but that the residents never seem to like people from out-of-town. In Fairy Hill, which Author isn’t entirely sure is possible to find without specific directions, it’s the fae who tend to dislike out-of-towners. Those Unseelie like to keep to themselves. Author suspects that the Courts of Lockswood enjoy having visitors and the humans are attempting to protect them. It makes a creeping nervousness climb up her spine but, well, her oldest friend is in a jar in her backpack. She’s got bigger worries.

The final bus runs straight to Lockswood. It’s infrequent, according to the schedule, but Author has a stroke of good luck because it’s precisely two minutes after she sits down that the bus pulls up. Honestly, she feels like she’s earned it because, of course, her oldest friend is currently a spider in a jar in her backpack. Her brain still can’t quite process it. She feels a bit like a broken record.

She gets on the bus.”

the second reads: “Author leans against him, shoulder to shoulder, and lets out a long sigh. “Look at us, eh? A spider and a Spider Prince. What are the odds?”

It makes them both laugh, even if it’s tinged bitter.

There’re lots of things that she’d like to say to Nuisance: she’d like to tease him about ageing despite the distance between them, she’d like to ask him what he liked about Eddie, she’d like to tell him about the other troubles in Fairy Hill. The words get caught in her throat when she opens her mouth, so instead they sit a while in silence.”

the third reads: “She wishes she’d written down her mother’s phone number so she could call to ask. There’s got to be a payphone in Lockswood town, right? Darling could’ve taken her to it and she could’ve called home.

Of course, that would require admitting that her idea hadn’t worked out very well. She can picture the entire phone call in her mind’s eye. She’d call and her mother would go to the avocado green phone that neither of them particularly liked but that her grandmother had insisted on mounting to the wall. Author would say, do you guys have any ideas? And her mother would answer yes or no or maybe and then follow it up with your idea didn’t work, though, or you wouldn’t be calling. And Author would admit that her idea had been kind of stupid, actually, and that the Spider Prince is cursed too and then her mother would use her disappointed voice (the one that wasn’t supposed to sound disappointed but still did, the one that clawed at Author’s insides and always made her feel so overwhelmingly guilty, as if she isn’t guilty enough) and say, it wasn’t a bad idea. Author would know that it translated to ‘it wasn’t a good idea, either’ and then she’d start to cry and her mother would be forced to comfort her as though this whole situation wasn’t entirely her fault.

Oh, she thinks but doesn’t say out loud, I think I’m spiralling.”

Despite Danny's best efforts, no matter how much time past, Amity Park refused to see Phantom as a hero.

Sure, there were pockets of support, particularly among teens, but most of the town blames Phantom for the property damage, saying if he didn't fight the ghosts then it wouldn't be so bad, to that time he got mind controlled by Freakshow and "attacked" the mayor. It wears him down. It wears Tucker and Sam down. Jazz can only try to support them all.

Then one day, a member of the Justice League visits. Someone minor, and kinda a jerk... maybe a Wonder Twin? Zan? Whatever. They don't investigate; they don't look deeper. They listen to the town folks and declare the ghost hunters, Red Huntress and the Fentons, to be the official heroes of the town.

Worse? Danny Phantom is officially considered a villain to the Justice League. Tuck hacks into the Watchtower and confirms that they have a file (a heavily inaccurate file) about how to defeat Phantom.

Danny doesn't think he can do this anymore.

A few weeks later, a young villain escapes into Amity and demands (begs) that Danny help them escape from the hero after them. No idea who, I can't find a lot of info on teen villains in DC, so let's fudge some ages and make it Kyd Wyckyd from the Teen Titans cartoon. Danny agrees, because to hell with the Justice Losers, and they defeat the hero, becoming friends in the process. Kyd confesses that they became a villain after being ostracized bc of how they look, and they've been trying to avoid villain organizations because HIVE was abusive, but it's really hard to be a villain alone bc of all the heroes.

Sam gets an idea. Tucker agrees with the idea. Jazz is just happy they'll end up making friends.

The next day, the Teen Villain Alliance is formed, ready to assist with any teenage illegal shenanigans their allies might get into.

Some notes:

It's created to be a healthier option for teen "villains" to connect with others and support each other.

It's more important that this is for Teens rather than Villains. They're tired of adult villains taking advantage of them. The TVA would rather ally with a teen vigilante than with an adult villain.

Again, no idea who the teen villains are, but Klarion is definitely here. He leaves the Light for the chaos of the TVA. Maybe Ember is there too?

Timeline wise, this is around when Tim is still Robin, but Damien has arrived at Wayne Manor.

This is because, when it comes time to try to infiltrate the TVA, they'll have a convenient child-assassin who has none of the monitors of a teen hero that Phantom immediately picks up on.

Damien, who at this point has been abandoned by his mother, dismissed and scolded by his father, and has had no success at carving his own place in the family, jumps at the chance. He is then surrounded by peers who don't insult him or try to change his behavior (too much; jazz is trying to help him find healthier methods of expressing himself). He... might not want to continue being a spy.

Danny, Sam, Tuck, and Jazz are the founding members.

Danny reinvents himself as the High Prince of the Infinite, Prince Phantom Dark. He got kingship from fighting Pariah Dark, but since he's still alive, he's only a prince. He steals the last name Dark as an intimidation tatic against those in the know; only Danny would have the balls to claim family with Pariah.

Sam works as a powerless villain, but she might no be powerless? Either way, Danny gives her a bunch of repurposed Fenton tech, and she buys the rest with her parents credit card. She does NOT care if that's traced back to the Mansons. She would choose something goth, maybe something spider related or even bat?

I love Pharaoh Tucker, so I think he should get magic powers? Since pharaohs of old were considered the balance between the real and the divine. He's still a tech guy, now he's a tech and magic guy.

Jazz isn't really a villain, more of a team mom who's planning on using everyone's psyche's as her thesis paper. You know what, that's her callsign, she's Psyche. Sometimes she flirts with Nightwing.

hello im going to talk about my non fankid oc's because i feel like i talk too much about my children (sorry) and too little about my other characters and i know probably no one cares but fuck you/lh im going to force you to care/j

Tools the Chinchilla (she/they) is the oldest character in the group! (Ironically age wise they're the youngest, being 14). They're an anti hero, of sorts?? But I think a better way to describe her is just a silly chinchilla doing her own thing, not caring about anyone else. They really just care about what they have going on and are going to do whatever they need to get things done. She does not care about relationships at all, and only tries to get closer to someone if it benefits her. They're a investigator/scientist, mostly studying about chaos, so you can guess how that leads her to follow the main cast around, trying to act all friendly to get info out of them (but everyone knows she doesn't actually like them because she's really bad at acting). She also has a very big ego, and constantly compares herself to characters like Tails of Eggman, pushing them both down although she's not really an inventor, unless she needs something specific.

Prince the Peacock (he/him) is my boy!!! I love his concept. He has hypnotic powers thanks to his feathers, and he also cares a lot about his looks. He's very sophisticated, but also very high energy and friendly (he can be a little too much, in fact). He's also a bit naive, but that's mostly because he usually sees the best in people, and believes anyone can be good if he's just nice enough. He sees himself and Tools as best friends, even though she can't stand him, he just thinks they're shy. He's a little bit too scared of everything, but after being saved by the Resistance during the war he feels like he needs to do his part, so he's actually quite brave and very usually pushes himself out of his comfort zone.

Ferocity the Spider (she/her) seems to be somewhat of a fan favorite, and I think that might be thanks to her goth lolita fashion and the fact that she's a spider, definitely not something seen in the Sonic franchise. She's a full on villain, and is que agressive. She has all of the abilities spiders commonly have, but I can't get more specific than that. I'm way too scared of spiders and could only use drawings as reference for her design, so I didn't actually take the time to decide what kind of spider she is bskdbskfnskx She has every move calculated, and takes everything into account, she's very careful and methodic, but, like I said, when she needs to, she can get very agressive and scary. She's also very closed off and untrustful, so while she does have someone she works with (more on that later), she usually prefers to do things herself, just to make sure.

Joy the Horse (she/her) is a total sweetie. She's very shy and quiet, but has the biggest heart ever. She's a baker!!! And has her own bakery:) she sometimes brings some of her baked goods to Restoration HQ because some of her friends are there. She's softspoken and kind, but don't look down on her! She can kick you over the next city if she needs to>:) usually in defense, not in offense. She doesn't fight often, but if her or someone she cares about is involved she goes all out trying to help. Also Joy is the only one Tools tries to be friends with, but that's because they want free food. Joy knows this, and yet she still pretends she doesn't see when the chinchilla sneaks a cookie into their pocket.

Torch the Angler Fish (they/them) is Ferocity's right hand!!! Mostly just the dumb henchman in cartoons. They're way too energetic and impulsive, which is why Ferocity usually has to hold them down. They normally do the dirty work; if they need to fight, Torch will do it while Ferocity watches from the shadows and only interferes if needed. Torch, of course, has a little light that can lure people closer to them, and they often hide in the shadows, to then attack by surprise. They enjoy scaring people, they're a bit of an asshole lol. I said Ferocity is agressive, and yet, Torch is the most agressive of the two, which makes them a bit more scary.

Index the Secretary Bird (she/her) is a cute girly who works for the Restoration as, you guessed it, a secretary. I imagine she was friends with Jewel, and when she saw how much work the beetle had, she decided to step in and help. She's also very methodic, and strict. She actually was a librarian before she joined the Restoration, so you can be sure she has outstanding organization skills. She's a bit unexpressive, and distant, but definitely not mean, and if you manage to get close to her you'll have a friend who will give you the best advice and will listen to you with all of her attention!! She also has some knowledge in first aids, so when needed she also helps in that area.

And yeah that's that the fankids get too much attention so these guys also needed a post dedicated to talking about them tehee

LUCIFER

WHO IS HE?

In Demonic culture, Lucifer is often described as a fallen angel who was cast out of heaven, he is also described as the ruler of Hell, and the Prince of the demons. He is often seen as a symbol of the light bringer, the keeper of secrets and knowledge, and the ruler of the underworld. His followers are often referred to as "Luciferians" or "Luciferians," a term that has been used to describe a wide variety of secret societies and mystery cults. Lucifer is seen as a powerful and dominant entity, and he is associated with mischief, rebellion, and chaos.

BASIC INFO:

Appearance: Lucifer is described in many different ways in Demonic culture. The specific characteristics and appearance of Lucifer can vary greatly, depending on the source and cultural context. Some descriptions of Lucifer depict him as a beautiful and angelic being, while others describe him as a terrifying and demonic entity.

He is more serious than one might expect for a demon given their popular depictions in our culture as chaotic forces of evil, but Lucifer is full of courage and love. I often feel him with me even when I’m not doing things related to him. He is proud of his follower’s accomplishments and congratulates them on a job well done, though he also reminds them that the job is never truly over. Growth is constant, Lucifer is the epitome of growth, blunt and gentle at the same time, telling you what you need to do and giving you space to figure out how to do it.

Lucifer values resilience, the pursuit of self-betterment, intellectualism, courage, open-mindedness and responsibility in individuals and wants to see his followers develop these qualities. He is constantly rooting for you to reach your full potential. He won’t hold your hand the entire way, but he will help you take steps in the right direction. Lucifer, like all deities, is different for everyone and will adjust his approach depending on your needs.

So, it's been uh,,,,*checks watch* two months,! Sorry about that, I've been really busy -w-;; But anyways!!

As you've probably noticed, this ref is wayyy different from my usual style! To be honest, I,,,really started hating that style and it made working on refs stop being fun jsdkljsd... Plus I got really inspired by a certain youtuber so!! Ref formats are getting a revamp!!!!! It's possible that it may change more in the future since this was very experimental,, but the good news is it worked and I had a TON more fun making this :DD

As usual, story will be under the cut!

Taking the role of goofy mafia is the Lost Florist, also known simply as Chrys! She's the oldest member of Princess's runaway coup, at 19 years old, and also its only authority figure. She's been trying to reign things in and convince the Lost Kids to stop the whole thing, with...negligible success. Let's just hope SOMEONE figures out how to get things under control before she turns 20,,,and the coup kicks out the last thing keeping the island from burning to the ground.

As the only one really equipped to deal with the chaos (or at least, she's trying), Chrys is CONSTANTLY sleep deprived. She hasn't gotten a good night's sleep in months! And on one particular night, when it begins to lightly snow all over Ever Isle, leading every single child to attempt to shovel the stuff into their mouths...let's just say she's more tired than ever.

For USAU's Ch.1 Act 3: He Came From Underground, instead of raining, it snows! As seen above, Prince has a snow coat outfit exclusive to the next two acts (although it can later be earned). Falling into a snow pile will cause him to get covered in snow (loser), and anyone he encounters will ignore him unless attacked. If he passes through a bush while covered in snow, Prince will then get DOUBLE covered in leaves. Blegh. He's gonna need a shower after this...

Lost Florist, being so tired she's probably starting to see spiders, mistakes the leaf-covered alien for a "Leafy Plant Monster", screaming something about how she "knew the plants would come to take revenge on her". Prince rather confusedly chases after her, just trying to politely ask for his Time Piece back. Chrys ends up passing out, allowing her to get some much-needed sleep and Prince to retrieve his Time Piece.

She also appears in a much more well rested and less paranoid form in Act 6: Growing Over Ever Isle. Basically, Princess turned on all of the acid faucets around the island, causing the plant life to mutate and overgrow! I'll probably go into more detail later, but Chrys talks to Prince at the start of the act and also thanks him with a Time Piece at the end...along with someone else.

17 April 1975 - Queen arrived in Tokyo, Japan for their first tour of the country …. 🇯🇵

Around 6:25 PM, Queen arrive at Haneda airport on flight JAL 61. Past 7 PM, the band is greeted by about 3,000 fans. The group is swarmed by fans and their high pitched, happy screams. The fans pull the members' hair and clothes, and the members even feel concerned for their personal safety. Seeing this reaction, the airport staff hurry the members away through a back exit in the customs area. However, there are more fans waiting in the parking area, so the members rush to their cars and finally head to their hotel. This story would continue to be told and be known as Queen's legendary Haneda episode.

Upon arriving at the Tokyo Prince Hotel, they are greeted by another 100 fans or so, causing a noisy scene in the lobby. The members are taken to their rooms on the sixth floor, bringing the chaos to a conclusion. This day was the start of a special relationship between Queen and Japan.

Incidentally, on the previous day, when 7 members of the band's stage crew arrived at Haneda at 5:05 PM, they too were greeted by around 500 fans. When the fans realized they weren't the band, they scattered like a bunch of baby spiders

[Being rock stars, each member was supposed to get their own car, but amidst the confusion, Brian, Roger, and Freddie crammed into one car, separate from John. That's why John is seen by himself in another car.]

You all are ridiculous. I get it that you all hate Timothee and it’s popular to do in the tomdaya community but don’t even try to downplay his success. Idk when and why timothee keeps being an add on to Tom and zendaya discussions. Years ago none of y’all cared for him and we wouldn’t be having this convos. Timothee mentioning zendaya twice is not why wonka is successful and thinking timothee team paid for this is all chronically online. We can say the same for Spider-Man homecoming when they milked zendaya for promo when she wasn’t even in the movie that much. B&A flopped and so did chaos walking. Comparison is inevitable in this business. Nobody likes it but it happens. They did this to Leo and so many actors, Whitney and Mariah, micheal Jackson and prince. I can go on and on. Nobody is exempt for that. They even try to compare Taylor russell to zendaya. Both Tom and timmy had sucessulful movies with ip and had movies that flopped so you guys need to stop bringing that up as a gag. Also somebody can say the same for No way home success since they added Tobey and Andrew.

Idk if you're lumping me in the category of ppl who "hate" Timmy, but in case you haven't noticed, I don't hate Timmy? The man has done nothing to me lol 😂

Maybe some Tomdaya fans don't like him due to the relentless Timdaya shipping, his fandom who seems to have an obsession with Tom and putting him down, or just due to his inattentive insensitive SNL skit.

But even despite all of this, I do not hate that man!

Anyway, you brought up some good points about comparisons. You're right! That seems to happen a lot in the media.

And you're right.... BOTH Tom and Timmy have had box office successes and some projects that didn't do well.

I haven't really seen Tom have a box office FLOP though, because the films that cone out to theaters usually do pretty well. It's the streaming projects that usually have not done well in the critics and people's opinion imo. 🤷🏾‍♀️

When Marco was 14 fresh into puberty and with the grace and elegance of a new born giraffe. Rakuyo seeing the kids self esteem at an all time low decides to take him to a fortune teller.

A love fortune teller to be precise. The teller in question is no one of real consequence. Her readings are accurate as the concept of astrology. The only real consequence of this whole adventure is that marco becomes quite the romantic, after being told he is destined to have a prince ask for his hand.

Now this statement may or may not be true but to a 14 year old who looks a tad odd and hasn’t quite grown into his feet. It’s a rather nice thought to have. So Marco gets his fortune read, Rakuyo gets to be a brother and they stop for soba on the way back to the moby. So a good day all in all.

Now unbeknownst to Rakuyo that little session saved marco quite a bit of grief as the teenager would not fully grow into his looks until his late twenties. (Something that would still bother him greatly, even with the fortune) but even having the idea that one day a “prince” would ask for his hand, ask him to be theirs entirely. Was a bandaid (perhaps not the healthiest but you work with what you got) so marco grew, laughed off jokes, kissed people in dim rooms and did many other things (that were far less hygienic in dark alleyways.) Avoided most mirrors and did his best to bury negative thoughts under paperwork.

His parent visits in the fall of his 31st birthday. Pops swoons over the flowers they present to him before snatching marco away for the day. “You are quiet dove.” They remark, a ring laden finger tracing the teacups rim. Marco opens his mouth and closes it, biting his lip. His parent waits as he sips at the lukewarm tea. “I-“ he flounders again. His parent takes his free hand olive skin clashing with his darker tone. “You are not ugly dove.” They say.

Marco gives a humorless chuckle “I think you’re obligated to say that Ada.”

“Marco.” Their voice is firm, “do you think I am ugly?”

“No.” And it’s the truth his parent couldn’t ever be ugly, hooded lids and thick lips, thick red scars cover both cheeks paired with hauntingly blue eyes. “It’s just-“ and how can he say it? ‘I look like the best parts of you but somehow they came out wrong on me’

They sigh, “you spend too much time listening.”

“It’s good to listen.”

“Yes but you must also talk, dove.” They squeeze his hand. “Come with me to the north.”

“What why?” Marco wasn’t even born in the north despite his parent being born there.

“You spend too much time on that boat, you must use those wings to fly.”

Unfortunately for marco his parent is if nothing else very good at arguing and winning the argument. He leaves 3 days later his father giving him a hug and his parent a kiss on the cheek.

The north is… loud, that’s the first thought marco has. The wind howls constantly. His parent quickly rods him off his clothes (minus the sash) and dresses him in northern fashion. He pouts when they pull out a maroon jacket. “It brings out your eyes dove.” But wears it anyway. Despite the chaos he settles somewhat the island he currently resides is part of a chain. It’s called spider… something. He wasn’t paying too much attention. A year passes, he turns 32 and celebrates with his parent dancing at a festival. Halfway through he expresses his concerns about the amount of staring. His parent laughs “dove you are the most handsome man these drunks have ever seen, relax. Go dance.”

All in all it is a very good birthday.

A week before his departure. (The moby called apparently they are not as adept at paperwork as he is) marco flies through the snow. He couldn’t tell you what he was expecting when he landed. It certainly wasn’t a man wearing a gaudy feather coat

It certainly wasn’t a man wearing a gaudy feather coat and bleeding out from multiple bullet wounds. A pink hat slipped from the man’s head revealing a shock of platinum blonde hair. Marco isn’t sure when he moved or what he said (he assumes it was some version of ‘are you ok’) but by the slack jawed expression in the blondes face it could’ve been an incoherent mess. The man then smiled slumping further over the small treasure chest, a burnt out cigarette falling from his painted lips. “Hey angel.” He slurred, “mind giving me a hand?”

I have nothing I can say, this is so fucking cute (and relatable, how'd you fucking manage to hit every one of my own personal insecurities with marco's self-image issues, hello awkward body type issues how are you today)

Ranking Libraries in Animated Movies

We're all bookworms here--yes, even you, person who has stumbled across this post at 4am, questioning everything about your life--and so we have library envy, and a lot of that started YOUNG. So let's take a walk down memory lane and review and rank (in no particular order because frankly I don't care enough to be precise about this) them!

The Provincial Town Library

This darling little space is clearly a labor of love in a town where way too many people feel about books like Gaston do. I want to pat this little library on the head. It's trying so hard, and it's wonderful that it exists. I would curl up here and read for an afternoon. This library is your secondhand, Thriftbooks version of a library. Well loved, a bit worn, and meant to be read.

The Library in Beast's Castle

Bright, airy, absolutely stunning design, but maybe a smidge impersonal and meant to intimidate. There aren't any cozy reading nooks, and there is a ton of echoey space. I was floored by this library as a kid, and I wanted it, but this is the library equivalent of a Folio Society special edition. You look respectfully and perhaps carefully page through it because it's more of an object d'arte than a reading copy of a book.

Prince Derek's Library

This library lacks the natural light of the libraries in Beauty and the Beast, but LOOK at this beauty. It's big, it's warm-toned, and it's clearly a USE library. There are floor stacks, side stacking, leaners, and an open book hanging out! I'd want some more cozy spots to read in here, but even without them, you'd never drag me out of this library. It's basically your fancy, Eaton Centre version of Chapters (don't look at me like that, I don't have to acknowledge that Indigo turned a bookstore into a lifestyle brand if I don't want to). It has prestige, but it's meant to be all about the books.

The Pagemaster's Library

Yes, it's included. Yes, it's a technicality. Who's blog is this anyway??? This is a library that you go to when you literally have no other choice and the fate of the world is on the line. It is NOT inviting, not friendly, and there is something deeply impersonal about it. It doesn't TRY to imtimidate you, it doesn't care about you. It's basically an eldritch horror and you're trying not to poke it too hard. The shelves are LITERALLY closing in on you as they extend into forever.

Merlin's Library

Ok, I know he's a wizard and wizards are basically chaos incarnate, but seriously, Merlin. I'm calling the book version of CPS. There are almost certainly rats inder those stacks and piles. It looks damp. It's dark. It's cramped. The humidity is probably out of control. There are probably books dying slowly by being molded over. I want to stage a rescue mission for those poor tomes.

Rapunzel's Personal Library

Oh sweetie. Come with me.

The Corona Library

A little cozy, a friend to read with, space to stretch out...Yes. This is good. Much better! I would absolutely read like 20 books all at once here, and bonus points for the window and sunbeam spot to be a book cat in!

The Evil Queen's Library

Given that this is basically a combination of a tenured academic's and a witch's library...A+ no notes on this whole vibe. I'm bailing HARD because spiders, but this woman knows what her library aesthetic is and she nailed it. This shelf is Instagram-ready.

Favorite Arch Enemies

Beyond all of the ones that I've already covered, anyway.

The Joker - Here he is, at long last. The man, the legend, the Clown Prince of Crime himself. In my opinion, the Joker is the greatest arch-nemesis in the history of fiction because he compliments his heroic adversary perfectly. Batman is a dark, brooding, frightening figure with a semi-demonic visage, yet he is a hero dedicated to the cause of justice and protecting the innocent citizens of Gotham City. The Joker is a bright, colorful, exuberant and funny clown, something that's supposed to bring joy and laughter to others, yet he is a nihilistic, psychopathic criminal whose only goal in life is to spread death, destruction and chaos through Gotham City because that's what brings him joy and laughter. It's just such a natural conflict: the miserable vigilante vs. the happy murderer, law vs. anarchy, order vs. chaos, hope vs. despair, purpose vs. purposelessness....a battle that is truly timeless, which is why it has endured since 1940. Outside of comic books, the Joker has been depicted masterfully by Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Cameron Monaghan, Joaquin Phoenix, Barry Keoghan, Kevin Michael Richardson, Jeff Bennett, Richard Epcar, John DiMaggio, Michael Emerson, Troy Baker, Christopher Corey Smith, Zack Galifianakis, Jeff Bergman, Tony Hale, Alan Tudyk, Mick Wingert.....and of course by Mark Hamill, perhaps his definitive portrayer.

Doctor Octopus - In the realm of comic book superheroes, Spider-Man's assortment of villains comes second only to Batman's. And his arch-foe is Doctor Otto Octavius, aka "Doc Ock". Octavius is much like Peter Parker, except older, crankier, and much more prideful. Like Peter, he invokes an eight-legged creature - an octopus rather than a spider - and takes it a step further through the usage of four mechanical arms attached to his spine. But while Peter had to learn to put aside his hurt feelings and inflated ego because "with great power comes great responsibility", Ock is more a believer in "with great power comes great domination of everyone weaker". Many of Spider-Man's greatest battles have been against this mad genius who seeks to enforce his sense of superiority upon the world. Actors who have portrayed Ock outside of comics include Vernon Chapman, Stan Jones, Michael Bell, Efrem Zimbalist Jr., Rodger Bumpass, Alfred Molina, Joe Alaskey, Peter MacNicol, Tom Kenny, Scott Menville and William Salyers, with Kathryn Hahn portraying a female version in Into the Spider-Verse.

They were odd names, Rhaenyra thought, but Daemon assured her they would get the job done.

It had taken time for news to reach his contacts, more for the response to come and for the plan to be set. It was now six days since Cannibal had returned without her.

He gave them a map of the tunnels, instructed them to find them sometime when they were all together, a dinner, something, and kill them all. Leave the children and Helaena- make it painful for the rest.

She found she couldn’t think about it anymore. Daemon climbed into bed beside her, wrapping an arm around her waist that felt good, normal, but something was sorely missing.

She felt Daemon press a kiss to her bare shoulder, and she fell asleep sobbing for the sixth day in a row.

You watch Aegon wearily as he sulks in the corner- Alicent demanded the family gather, that this is the last moment of peace they will have for a while before the real war will begin.

You know you are the calm in a raging sea, that Daemon and Rhaenyra relied on you for an a calm head, a reprieve, shelter. Without you, you cannot imagine the chaos they will inflict.

Aemond sits stiffly beside Helaena on a chaise, eyes glancing to you every few minutes. Helaena watches the children happily, humming while she does her needlepoint. A beautiful red and black spider. You notice she never knits with green.

Alicent presides over it all, the chair across from yours, smiling happily. She has her family altogether. You are more jealous of her now than you ever have been before.

Her perfect family obviously does not include you, but Helaena insisted you come as well, and this was better than sobbing into your pillow alone, you supposed.

But, you just sighed as Otto took a seat- across from you, next to Alicent- staring thoughtfully off into the distance. A nervous lilac eye on yours, the feeling of annoyance in the air.

You feel powerless in this place. You know that this place should be yours, you should be the one presiding over it all. Rhaenyra is the Queen, and she will make you one as well. Daemon will be King, your children princes and princesses, happy, happy, happy.

With them, you ruled the world.

Your dragons would change the course of the winds for you, make kingdoms rise and fall at your will. A flippant hand in someone’s direction, and soon dragon fire will be blown at them. Burn, burn, burn.

Now, you cry yourself to sleep. Wake alone. Fill your days with the memory of them. The absence of power and safety weighs on your heart.

The people around you, across from you, next to you, want your head on a silver plate. To them, you are a puppet, and the string you hang from is choking you.

Helaena suddenly sets her needlepoint down, murmuring that she is quite thirsty. The only maid in the room leaves to fulfill her request of chamomile tea, and you continue to watch the children.

(They are making their way through the tunnels, pausing to consult the map. They are in the palace now, slowly climbing to the higher floors.)

You and Helaena both gasp when Maelor throws a wooden dragon, almost hitting Jaehaerys on its descent. Maelor is closest to you, so you lean down and place a gentle hand on his shoulder.

“You should not throw, honey, you may hurt someone.” He looks up at you, and you can tell he has no idea what you’re saying. He looks so much like Viserys, oddly, that you let your hand wisp through his blonde locks. He smiles, turns back to his dragons.

Aegon scoffs from across the room, and you look up.

He meets your eyes, his bottom lip curling in distaste.

(Their path is straight, now. No more stairs to climb. They come to a dead end. Consult the map. Yes, this is the place. The wall creaks open, secret door appearing from cream colored paper.

They watch two handmaidens in front of them. One is carrying a tray, while the other stands in front of her and fixes her dress.

“Down the hall, last door on the right. That is where the royal family is. All you have to do is give Queen Helaena her tea.”

“Oh, praise the Seven.”

“Do not be nervous. This is a great honor to be given on only your second week. There is not room for failure.”

Sad, she will never get to bring that tea. Their throats are cut, and the men in the walls continue their journey.)

Alicent sighs, heavily. “What is the matter, Aegon?”

“Nothing. I just… wonder what gives her any right to discipline my son.”

“It was not like that,” Helaena murmurs, and you can barely hear her. You straighten your spine, fingers detangling from Maelor’s hair.

“I’m sorry, Your Grace.” You put as much derision into your voice as you dare, and his eyes narrow.

“Let us enjoy this peaceful evening, yes?” Alicent glances around the room, before turning back to the book in her lap. She hums to herself about writing to Daeron, while you and Aegon do not back down. He stares and you stare.

Aegon is a usurper. A traitor. You will not give up, will not let him win.

But to your surprise, he simply scoffs and looks away first. You lean back into your chair, slightly surprised. You did not think him one to back down.

You cannot be in this room anymore. It is when you are about to stand, that the door opens. You take no mind, figuring it to be a handmaiden, fiddling with your dress as you take a deep breath to take your leave.

Helaena screams, Aegon startles, and Aemond grabs his dagger.

When you look up, two men dominate the room. One bars the doors, and you gasp, the other takes a step forward, and tears well in your eyes.

One is pale and quite short, dagger in a bony hand. The other is taller, muscled, tanned skin and stubble on his chin. You can tell they are hardened from a life on Flea Bottom, assassins, former Gold Cloaks perhaps. They scare you to the bone.

Dameon is not here to save you, now. Rhaenyra is not here to hold you, now. Not like last time. You are alone. Alone, alone, alone.

It is Otto who rises slowly, hands out calmly, as the men survey the room. Aegon screams that he is King. Alicent calls for the guards. You can barely make out banging on the door, opposite the rhythmic beat of your heart, dragon wingbeats. You miss Daemon.

“Who are you?” Otto calls.

“A debt must be made,” one of them says, the shorter, paler one.

The room is silent besides for the sounds of crying children and Helaena’s erratic breathing. Alicent has crossed the room to hold her- you want to be holding your children. You want to go home.

Tears fall down your face, down your necklace Helaena had ensured you kept. Made of Valyrian steel. Two initials on the back of it.

You grab at it, clutching it between your nervous fingers.

You admit, you often forget it is even there. It’s comforting weight is always on you, it is as if your body has grown around it. Daemon and Rhaenyra, always with you.

“What fucking debt?” Aegon shouts, tearing through the room and coming face to face with them. “I am the King, and you will be hung as traitors!”

The bigger one sends him a deadly glare.

“You may be King, but you are foolish. Your treason spreads like water throughout the realm.”

“What- what treason?!” Otto sputters, “Who do you work for?!”

“The entire Realm knows you murdered Lady Targaryen, Prince Aemond. They hiss at the sound of your name and call you Kinslayer.”

“No, no, no,” you breathe, and everything falls into place.

“The Queen and her husband have sent us for revenge. The Realm will know the meaning of fire.”

“No!” You scream again, throwing yourself off of the couch and towards them. They cannot kill them, because they have to take you home. You need to go home.Your blood is singing, your heart is twisting.

You stand on shaky legs, holding a hand out.

“I- I am Lady Targaryen. I’m not dead, I’m not. Please,”

“She’s lying,” Aemond hisses. “She is nothing. Discard her.”

“No! No, I am telling the truth!” You grab the bigger man’s wrist, and he stares at you, uncertain. But he also knows that even if there is a modicum of truth to your words, and if he hurts you, he will know the meaning of fire.

You see it in his eyes. Some part of him is cautious, some part of him wants to believe you. To return Lady Targaryen back to her family would make him a hero. Riches shined upon him, women fawning over him, the Queens and King in his debt.

“My necklace!” You gasp, suddenly, hold it out to him, he grabs the end of it, studying it while the smaller man keeps watch, daggers looming. “It- it’s Valyrian steel,” he turns it over, traces the inscription with his finger.

“D and R,” he murmurs, before it clicks in his brain and he pulls you to him. “Cheese! Abandon the fucking mission, we’re gonna be hero’s!” The other man laughs greedily, backing up slowly.

You sob into the man’s shoulder, and he wraps an arm around you to keep you steady. Not quite Daemon, but if you close your eyes, it’s close enough.

Home, home, home, you think, over and over again, repeat your family’s names.

Daemon, Rhaenyra, Jace, Luke, Joffrey, Baela, Rhaena, Aegon, Daenys, and Viserys. Daemon and Rhaenyra. Daemon and Rhaenyra. Cannibal, Cannibal, Cannibal, your Cannibal.

It is sudden when he falls, the other man, Cheese, screaming out “Blood!” before murmuring that he’s sorry and running out. You fall with him, trapped under his arm.

When you get out from under his weight, there is a knife in his back, you pull his head into your lap, sobbing.

“I’m sorry,” you say, over and over, because it was Aemond’s dagger but your doing. You hold him until the light fades from his eyes, and the blood seeps around you, soaking your dress.

When he stops convulsing, when you realize the other man is gone, without you, you raise your bloody hands to your face, shaking, shaking, and scream so loudly you hear the children screech as well.

(You would later find out that Cheese was caught by guards, tackled to the ground. They meant to just restrain him, but he fought back, screaming that he must save the Queen. They killed him, and his blood is on your hands too.)

You scream until you run out of breath, until Helaena, sobbing as well, places a gentle hand on your shoulder. She whispers that she’s sorry. You sob into your bloody hands, stained with your freedom.
