Steve is most likely to end up in a lavender marriage and Tony's most likely to end up in a “married for tax/immigration/inheritance fraud” reasons.
They meet as married men and pine for each other hardcore and are also trying not to read too much into how their interest seems reciprocated and oh nooooo both Immigration/the IRS and the the Church/in-laws/DADT era army dudes or whatever are snooping around at the same time at each of their marriages and they have to be so good at being married at the people they are married to oh noooooo and they other guy doesn’t know why they are suddenly being iced out and maybe they were just imagining things? maybe it’s for the best with all these eyes around on them…

picnic date with Leon 🥺
love
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
re2!leon kennedy x f!reader
— a oneshot (request)
warnings: so much fluff it’s kinda gross, a little touching, mentions of sex, reader is female and uses (she/her) pronouns, leon is the best boyfriend ever and we love him for that, no physical description of reader except that she has hair, pet names (baby, sweet girl, etc.) based heavily on love by lana del rey (leon is lana coded bc i say so).
“she didn’t know what else to expect to her already worse work week, besides the papers that always seemed to pile up on her desk and swarm her like a colony of hungry bees. she hated her job, wanted to slap her boss and her co-workers. so how could this week get any worse? she thinks it will when her phone buzzes with a text from leon, only to find out if she wants to go on a picnic date this weekend. suddenly, her week just got better by a thousand percent.”
— or reader is having a terrible week and leon decides to spoil his favorite girl
an: thank you for the request, i loved writing something that wasn’t pure smut for once. did include a little seggsy tho (i can’t resist). gave my overworked brain a little vacation lol. i took your idea and ran with it, hope you enjoy <3

she actually hated her boss. hated him.
aside from spilling coffee on herself this morning before she left for the office, she had a thousand reports on her desks and emails flooding her work inbox. her boss went on a rant about her work performance and the fact that he was almost using his superiority as a manager to make her feel belittled was enough to send her blood pumping through her veins.
but mindlessly, she tried to get through her day. taking deep breaths and trying not to freak out on her boss. only did her day get worse when she overheard gossip in the break room.
“i hear she’s like some prude. her boyfriend only touches her when he’s drunk.”
she listens in on the gossip, pouring herself some coffee that hopefully won’t make its way onto her pencil skirt again. she wondered who they could possibly be talking about so openly in the middle of the day in the break room.
the other voice goes on, one of her coworkers that she knew from working here so many years, “that’s not true. i know her personally. she told me she’s waiting for marriage.”
her ears perk up at this, all the blood draining from her face, she knew they were talking about her now. her worst fears have been confirmed. she should’ve never stupidly trusted someone she worked with to keep such information about her relationship with leon, private.
she felt so stupid. but they kept going and she kept listening. the other women who she didn’t know opened her mouth again, “still, how much of a prude do you have to be to wait until marriage? like just fuck and get it over with already. unless he’s ugly…”
she feels anger rise in her like tsunami. leon? ugly? he could never be ugly. he was so fucking beautiful. how could this random woman even say that about her and her relationship without even knowing her? she kept her back turned and waited for the coworker she was more familiar with to say something.
“he’s actually quite a looker. shame she got her hands on him, if i had a man like that. i would fuck him until he couldn’t see straight.” she fisted her porcelain coffee cup with white knuckles, almost fuming and waiting for steam to pour out of her ears. jesus, she wanted to smack this woman silly, she considered them friends and now she was just so openly bragging to another woman of the company…that she wanted to fuck her boyfriend of two years.
she fumed and briskly left the break room with her coffee, slamming the door to the room shut behind her as she briskly walked back to her office, trying to keep up a demeanor that was professional and meanwhile she was seething on the inside.
she finally reached her office and went inside, slamming the door as she rounded her desk and sat her cup of coffee down on it. she leaned her elbows on her desk, burying her hands into her hands.
she wanted to cry, this week had been terrible and today was one of the worst out of all of them. and she needed to manage to get through it until after tomorrow.
thanking god it was thursday, one more day and she wouldn’t have to think of this place for a solid 48 hours. she took shaky breaths, trying to calm herself so she didn’t cry at her desk at work. she was still fuming from hearing that conversation in the break room about her personal life.
eventually, her phone buzzed on her desk and she looked down at her phone. she sighs and shakes her head, praying it’s not another report or upset client. she can’t handle anymore of that today, or this week for that matter.
she grabs her phone and looks at the contact, it was leon, she sighs in relief and smiles as she opens the text thread, looking at the screen.
LEON <3 : hey baby, just wanted to check in on my break. hope your doing okay, know it’s been a rough one for u.
besides wanting to cry at my desk all morning. first my boss says my reports are useless and utter shit. then i hear two of my coworkers gossiping in the break room about me like it’s no big deal. i hate this place, this week has sucked :(
LEON <3 : whoa, what? oh my god. are you okay? i know that’s so stupid to ask considering everything u just told me but…god. i’m so sorry.
no, i’m humiliated. i feel like stabbing my eyes out with my pencils at my desk. i hate this place, i hate everyone. minus u ofc <3
but seriously, i can’t wait to get through tomorrow and just be done with this place. even if it’s for two days.
LEON <3 : hmmm, that reminds me. do you still plan on coming over on friday night?
uhhh, yeah. considering i haven’t seen you all week. unless your canceling on me. which just makes me wanna cry more :,)
LEON <3 : oh god no, fuck that. i would never cancel on you baby. i just have an idea. and i was wondering if you would like it, considering how stressful and overwhelming your week has been.
i’m listening….
LEON <3 : you still come over on friday night, you pack a change of clothes and we go for a picnic on saturday. i know a good spot. and plus, im a good cook.
you don’t have to…
LEON <3 : but i WANT too. i wanna make my girl happy after having such an awful week. you need this baby. don’t bother arguing with me >:)
fineeee i suppose i could pack an overnight bag, stay the whole weekend at your place. go on a little picnic and ACTUALLY enjoy myself for once.
LEON <3 : that’s the spirit my love :). don’t worry, i’ll take care of you this weekend. don’t stress and don’t worry. trust in your amazing boyfriend ;)
you are an amazing boyfriend. don’t let that boost your already enormous ego though lol. god, i miss you so much. i can’t wait to see you. :,)
LEON <3 : you only have a little less then 48 hours to go before you see my handsome face again. don’t worry your pretty head baby, i’ll make you forget all about this week. spoil the absolute shit out of you. <3
okay, i gotta get back to work before my boss comes in to belittle me some more about phone usage at work :,). i’ll see you soon babe, i love you.
LEON <3 : see you soon beautiful girl, i love you too. gotta go bust some criminals lol. ttyl :)
she sighs in content, a lovesick grin on her features. she felt so much better, just talking to him through text even. it was enough to make her heart swell with love and forget all about the incidents this week.
she couldn’t wait to see him on friday night, then go on a picnic on saturday like he promised. she needed him like air sometimes. and he had been pulling shifts so frequently at the station that she barely ever saw him.
it sucked, yes. but when they did get to see each other it was absolutely worth it. she knew that he was gonna stay true to his word like he always did. make her happy, spoil her and make her forget all about her sucky week at work.
she loved him so much, it was almost consuming sometimes. overwhelming to think that before she met him two years ago, she had never known love or that men like him could even exist.
god, she was praying for this weekend to come sooner. and hopefully, it would.
Tumblr media
eventually she made it to friday, she managed to get through the day, working as hard as she could. she dealt with clients, dodged the lecturing of her boss and the gossiping of her coworkers.
she slipped out early, not really giving a fuck because all her work was finished as far as she was concerned. she had better places to be. like leon’s apartment for example.
she had packed an overnight bag that morning, watered her plants and made sure she had everything. she had kept her overnight bag stored in her car just so when she got off work, she could head straight over.
she sent him a text that she was off and she was heading over early, putting the car in reverse and leaving her works parking lot.
she drove down the familiar streets and roads until she made it to leon’s apartment, parking her car in the guest parking spot. she got out, grabbing her overnight bag and everything else she needed as she locked the car behind her.
she walked over to the gate to enter the complex, typing in the numbers and once it buzzed, she opened it and let herself in. she made her way up to the second floor, walking over to where his apartment was. she slipped her key to his apartment, unlocking the door and slipping off her shoes.
“baby? you home?” she calls out as she drops her overnight bag by her shoes, dropping her keys on the coffee table. she looks around, she feels a buzzing in her hand where her phone is. she looks at the text from leon saying he was on his way home from his shift.
she sighed and looked around his apartment, looking down at the coffee table where she sat her keys in front of his couch. she saw something sticking out from in between the pages of a book he was reading. “what the…?” she opened the book and looked in the book.
a piece of paper with scribbled writing over it, leon’s from what she recognized. she started to read the crumpled up piece of paper.
[READER],
ever since i’ve known you, i’ve loved you. i’ve never wanted anyone more then i’ve wanted you. i’m not just doing this in the hopes you’ll say yes, i’m doing this with the intention that you’ll let me love you for as long as we’re both alive.
i’m not doing it like this to be cliche, i know how much you think im corny. how hard i try to make sure you’re not laughing at me (even though i love your laugh more than anything.) i want you to know that i love you. i always have, i always will.
with that, will you please do me the honor of being my wife?
it would be my greatest achievement as man, as your boyfriend and future husband if you’ll let me.
she feels her eyes well up with subtle tears, wiping at her eyes as she looked down at the crumpled up notebook paper with a small smile, even though the letter didn’t say much, it said enough.
this was just more then a simple picnic, she knew now. why he was so keen on taking care of her this weekend. taking her out for a picnic tomorrow. she can’t believe he wanted to marry her, she wasn’t shocked but she was…she wanted to cry. it was almost like a dream come true.
she was about to re-read the note to make sure she wasn’t dreaming until she heard the lock on his front door click. she scrambled to put the crumpled up piece of paper back into the book where she found it, effectively slipping it in and standing up straight just in time as he entered the door.
“hey, honey.” he says with a small smile, kicking off his shoes. he wore his police uniform still, all pristine in pale blue and navy. she swallowed and wiped at her eyes, “hey.” she shuffles towards him and wraps her arms tightly around him.
he noticed the sniffling and the watery eyes, he craned his neck down to look at her face that was pressed into his chest, rubbing his hands up and down her back in a soothing gesture.
“are you okay? your eyes are red.” he says softly, his voice dripping with such concern it just almost made her heart melt in her chest. she nods and squeezes her arms tighter around him, “i’m okay. i just missed you.” she lies a little, she did miss him, but that wasn’t the true reason for the red eyes.
“okay, baby. it’s okay though, we’re gonna have a good weekend and your not even gonna think about work.” he says softly as he continues to rub her back up and down in a gentle gesture, smiling down at her with a soft grin. she nods, “okay, i’d like that.” she says with her cheek pressed against his chest, sniffling.
she knew she wouldn’t think about work, work was the furthest thing from her mind right now. the only thing on her mind was the picnic tomorrow and the note she had found.
she knew he was going to purpose, she wasn’t even trying to snoop, but now she knew. she loved him even more for it. if that was even possible.
Tumblr media
the next day, the morning light would peak through the curtains of leon’s bedroom window. it casted both of them in a glow that was more then just a simple glow of the morning but a new day.
she loves waking up beside him, especially today when the promises of their future hang right over her head. a promise that he’s intending to keep.
she rolls over onto him as he lays on his back, giggling as she does. she presses a small kiss to his chest and then makes a path up to his collarbone, pressing a kiss to his neck. she felt herself growing more aroused by the minute.
she wasn’t a virgin, she had dated plenty of shitty guys before leon. and it isn’t like she didn’t not want to have sex with him, they just decided to wait until marriage. but now that she knew he was going to purpose today, she forgot all about that little promise she made with him.
she presses her lips to his jaw, hearing him mumble something sleepily as she grins against his skin. she leans towards his ear, “wake up.” she mumbles as she moves her hips to sit on his covered dick in his boxers beneath the sheets. her panty clad frame gently moving her hips lightly against his as she adjusts.
she feels him slightly move again, moving in his sleep so she moves her hips more firmly on him again, feeling him grow harder against the fabric that separated them. he mumbles something and she pulls her face out of his neck, bracing her palms flat on his chest.
he slowly opens his blue eyes to meet hers, his dirty blonde hair messily on the pillow. she smiles down at him with a small grin, “morning sleeping beauty.” she chuckles as she leans down to his face and presses a kiss to his lips.
his half-asleep frame is still waking up and trying to wrap his mind around everything. “what are you doing?” he chuckles with a lazy opening and closing of his blue eyes.
“what does it look like im doing?” she says with a small smirk, moving her hips again. he had no idea where this was coming from, they had agreed to wait until marriage and now…
she was straddling his waist, her wet core on top of his morning wood, there were the barriers between them but still, he could feel everything. she tilts her head innocently at him, his blue eyes looking up at her, “why are you so…? what’s gotten into you?” he says with a small furrow of his brows as he leans up on the bed, his elbows propped up behind him.
she bites her lip and looks at him, “why am i what?” she says as she bats her eyelashes at him, feigning innocence. he struggles and takes a shaky breath, “why are you like…all over me? like, we didn’t…i thought you wanted to wait.” he manages to get out with another shaky inhale.
she sighs and rubs her palms over his chest, “i want you, i’ve waited long enough. married or not, i want you.” she says with a small look, letting his blue eyes latch onto hers. she needed him to know she was serious, that this mattered.
she knew he was going to purpose soon anyways, so what was the big deal? that’s what she thought anyways. she didn’t see it as this huge thing, it would be their first time together. but…she was ready.
“unless…your not?” she says with a small sigh as she looks down at him, her palms pressed flat on his bare chest as she looked down at him. he shook his head so fast, his hair flopping as he did, “no, i want it.” he replies as he looks up into her eyes.
“anything that you want from me, i wanna be able to give it to you. even this.” she hears him say as his blue eyes never stray from his gaze on her. she smiles widely and sniffles, “god, i love you.” she whispers as she leans down and presses a kiss to his lips.
it starts slow, his hands holding onto her waist as the kiss grows more intense and passionate. her hips moving against his erection. she doesn’t fear it now, not when she knows what will happen.
not when she can trust him. she knows he’s different, he’s not like the others. she wants to give him all of her, every single part. she wants to give him marriage, her soul, her body. she wants him to have it all.
so as the kisses and the touches escalate, she feels herself trusting in him, letting his love consume her body and mind in a way she had never known before. his kisses were like rain, falling on her skin and soaking there. his touch was like fire, spreading over her body.
it was beautiful, she couldn’t wait to have him with her forever.
Tumblr media
the picnic was beautiful.
leon, really knew how to make her forget about her shitty work week. whether it be a picnic, their first time having sex together earlier that morning, or the proposal that has yet to happen.
he really outdid himself. just like he promised, he had cooked and packed a lunch for them by a small pond in a park. it was about a 20 minute drive from his place, how she never knew it was there, she had no idea.
it was beautiful, some swans were in the pond swimming around with their babies, made her smile and think of how leon had made this so perfect without even trying. he spread out a blanket for them, sitting the food down in the picnic basket.
she brushes her hands over her purple sundress, looking at him as he sat down and began to spread out the food for them. “wow, baby. you really thought of everything didn’t you?” she chuckles as she sits down next to him on the picnic blanket.
“of course, anything for my girl.” he says with a sweet smile in her direction as he gets wine out of the basket and two glasses. my girl…jesus, if he’s trying to make me melt, it’s working. she thinks as she watches him uncork the wine bottle, and pour them both red wine into the glasses.
“i know, you spoil me, leon. but still…” she trails off as she looks over at him, she reaches over the blanket and grabs onto his hand. she watches as the subtle breeze blows his dirty blonde hair over his blue eyes and his forehead.
he rolls his eyes playfully and scoots closer to her on the blanket, squeezing her hand back. “don’t argue with me. it’s in your best interest.” he says with a small lopsided smirk as he hands her one of the glasses of wine. she accepts and smiles back at him, sipping on the wine in her free hand.
“fine. i won’t.” she says with a small roll of her eyes, grinning at him as she swallowed the wine. letting it slide down her throat. they stayed in silence for a while, just enjoying the sounds of nature, the breeze that blowed softly and made the leaves rustle in the trees above them.
she let him dote on her a little more, still feeling that anxious bubbling in her stomach that had been occurring since last night. the note, the proposal that had yet to happen. she felt her body get amped up and she was trying not to give her hopes up.
she sipped on her wine, looking over at him as he stared off into the pond a little ways in front of them. she admired him like this, when he wasn’t looking at her. he was deep in thought, in his head and she could almost see the gears turning in his mind.
“thank you, leon.” she says as she snaps out of her daze of staring at him. she didn’t think she could ever not want to stare, admire him like a piece of art in a museum. he lets his head turn her way, looking directly at her, a gentle smile on his boyish features.
“no need to thank me. i wanted to do something special for you.” he says as he reaches across the blanket and rubs his hand over her bare knee. she nods and swallows more nerves, “i don’t need to thank you, but im going to anyways.” she giggles.
he just shakes his head with a teasing grin on his face, he doesn’t mind this. sitting here with her and knowing where it’s going. he almost feels like this can’t be real, sitting here with her. the weather’s perfect and this day is even better.
they continue to just sit together on the picnic blanket, eating and sipping on their wine. they just talk and snuggle up next to each other on the blanket.
eventually the sun starts to set, painting the sky in a beautiful pink and red hue. it almost looks like a painting and she watches it with almost admiration. he knows this is the time, the ring in his pocket burning a hole through his jeans.
she keeps her gaze trained on the sky, not even noticing that he’s staring at her with admiration. he swallows his fears, his nerves and everything that could potentially stop him from doing this.
“your so beautiful, you know that?” he starts as he looks over her features. her gaze only temporarily looking over at him, a blush coating her cheeks. this isn’t how he had planned it, but he’s gonna do this differently.
“of course you know that, i tell you all the time how amazing, beautiful and sweet you are. even to people who don’t deserve your kindness.” he says as his blue eyes stay trained on her, she smiles and bites her lip in bashfulness.
she knows something is happening, but she lets it happen. she doesn’t care…not if it’s a promise to make her happy for the rest of their lives.
“your the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” he continues as he looks at her, turning his body a little towards her on the picnic blanket. the ring feels like an anchor in his pocket, keeping him tethered to the moment here with her.
“and i don’t think i’ll ever find anyone better then you, that’s honesty. your the best that’s ever going to happen to me.” he says as he looks deep into her eyes, her eyes blinking back at him as she feels her heart start to pound in her ribcage.
“and i would be a fucking fool if i went on another two years and didn’t show you how much you mean to me.” he says as he fists the ring in his pocket. she feels her heart swell and her eyes water. the smile spreading on her face is the rare kind.
“what are you…?” she says with a small look of disbelief on her face, her smile widening and the crystal of her eyes staring back at him.
he smiles with a small blink of his blue eyes that are now crystallizing over as well, he pulls his palm out of his pocket, opening it up between them to brandish a engagement ring.
she blinks her tears away, raising a hand over her mouth, trying to somewhat hide her shock. “leon…” she looks between the ring in his palm and then his eyes. this was much better then what was written on that crumpled sheet of paper.
“i love you so fucking much, i would do anything for you, to you and with you. only if you’ll let me, forever. please marry me. let me love you forever, let me wake up to you every morning. it would be the greatest honor i could ever have.” he says as he gestures the ring in his outstretched palm.
he looks at her with hopeful and love filled eyes as he does this. she doesn’t even have words, she expected it. but not like this…
this was definitely better.
and he was the love of her life, she couldn’t say no to him, not in a million years. she couldn’t dream of turning him down. of declining his proposal because he’s her happiness. even from two years ago when they met to now…
her body and mind want him the same, love him the same. she knows it will never change. not when it comes to him and just everything he does for her.
“yes…” she says as she sniffles away tears, feeling the breeze in the park billow her hair. the swans swimming idly in the pond in front of them. the sun setting in a beautiful sunset that paints the sky. he blinks at her, he doesn’t think he heard her right for a second.
“did you say…?” she laughs and looks at him, “i said yes. i’ll marry you.” she says as she feels more tears leak down her flushed cheeks. he smiles widely and grabs her hand shakily, his face coated in tears of happiness too.
he slips the ring onto her ring finger and strokes his thumb over her knuckles. he slides his free hand up to cup her jaw, rubbing the tears that slid from her eyes. “oh god, i love you.” he says in a trance as he looks at her.
“i love you too.” she says back to him, catching him in his trance of looking at her. she feels the ring on her ring finger, making its home there. she feels like she’s on cloud nine right now. he pulls her face towards him and presses a kiss to her lips.
she returns it and kisses him back, her hand, now ring clad, holds onto his face as she deepens the kiss. she doesn’t think she could ever be happier then she was right now.
in this moment with him. not a thing matters and her mind and body are full of him. she feels so consumed by him and his love that she can’t even explain it.
she’ll be wrapped in him forever and she can’t bring herself to care if she is. because at least she’s happy, happy and in love.
forever.

While away for Spring Break, Kelce and Topper miss their best friend. Rafe would never admit to missing anyone except his angel, yet he still agrees to go on Discord with them and play some Call of Duty. Y/N is okay with exploring Sicily by herself for the day. She returns to the yacht to find Rafe still on call with the boys. She pouts a little. Being by herself for the day is not a problem, but she wants to spend the evening with her boyfriend. Instead of asking him to hang out with her like a normal person, she takes out one of the mud masks he bought her. She ducks between his arms and uses the plastic brush to paint the mud on his face. At the cool feel of the mask, he jerks away. “What is that, Angel?” he questions, going to touch his face. She grabs his wrist, “Don’t, it’s a mud mask. I think a spa night would be fun.” He hmms at her words, informing his friends that he has to go. He exits the game and wraps his arms around her waist. “If you wanted a spa night, then you should’ve just told me. Let me pamper us, Angel.”
His headphones are thrown onto the desk and he takes her hand into his. He leads her to the living room’s couch, turning on the TV for her. He puts on Bones for her before heading to the master bedroom’s bathroom. Curiosity fills her and she just wants to see what he is doing. Half an hour later, he comes back into the room with a robe on and one for her in his hand. He asks her to strip, helping her put the fluffy coat on.
Their feet pad against the tiled floor and she finds the bathroom lit by candles. He tells her to wash her face in the sink and then places her on the counter. His hand rips open the face mask sheet. He sticks his tongue out as he smooths the cool sheet against her skin. “There. All done,” he whispers, kissing her neck. She smiles, “Thank you, Rafe.” He squeezes her hand and keeps holding it while he finishes putting on his mud mask. His eyes spot the towel headband he bought for this spa night. “Oops, I forgot to put this on,” he apologizes and slides it on her head. She giggles at the fact that he knows so much about her spa day routine, “It’s okay. You are doing amazing.” He grins at her reassurance and leads her to the tub. He shrugs off his robe, helping her do the same. As he gets into the tub, the water splashes a little over the edge of the ceramic. He holds his hand up to help her get in and she slots herself between his legs. Her back rests against his chest. He drapes his arms over her shoulder, giving her a kiss on the cheek. They soak in the water and each other’s company for a few minutes. Eventually, his fingers weave through her hair. The pads of his fingers dig into her scalp, eliciting a moan out of her.
She snuggles back against his hold and kisses the inside of his wrist when he goes to massage the front of her skull. “I’m sorry I stopped you from playing your game with the boys,” she worries out loud, the guilt is getting to her. He lets out a soft chuckle, “It’s okay, Angel. My eyes were getting a little tired anyway. I played the whole time you were gone.” She gives a small nod. “Did you at least eat lunch?” she worries.
“Yeah, I eat the leftovers from last night. I missed you though. Do you know what you want to eat for dinner?”
“Yeah! I found this great little place. It looks so intimate and the food smelt delicious. We can go after our spa night.”
“Sounds great, Angel.”

part two | masterlist | part four
“It takes two to make a thing go riiiiight.”
You never pictured the night before your wedding like this, you think to yourself, as you listen to Fak sing, to the best of his ability in a somewhat-decent falsetto, along to the 90s hip hop classic.
Hell, you’re not sure you really ever pictured your wedding, but as you sit, surrounded by the people you love, you can’t see it going any other way than this. You watch as Richie rallies up as many people as he can for shots of Mallort, recounting that infamous morning at Ceres – a story he’s told over and over again, yet still manages to tell as animated and boisterously as the first time you heard it.
You groan as you watch Richie successfully convince Gary to take a shot with him, Gary’s face twisting into a look of disgust in response to the foul taste of the Chicago liquor, as Sugar reminds him that he should know better by now.
Carmy gives your knee a squeeze while simultaneously brushing off Richie’s attempt at shoving a shot in his direction. You laugh, a warm feeling filling you to the brim (could be the beer, could be being surrounded by your people), while Sydney jumps right into her best Rob Base impression.
It just so happens that your continuously put-off ‘let’s shoot for next month’ karaoke plans with a few staff members from The Bear coincided with plans to go out with friends before the wedding, which is how you’ve found yourself here.
After a lovely dinner at The Bear, your parents went back to the hotel for the night, insisting that you two go and have your fun. And as much as you would’ve loved to have brought your mother-who-has-a-doctorate-in-music-theory to karaoke night, she much preferred a good night’s sleep.
The crowded bar claps enthusiastically as Fak and Sydney wrap up their song, finishing their truly-made-up-only-for-comedy dance moves. You giggle, exchanging another glance with Carmy, as your friends take their bows, before shuffling off of the stage.
You hear the loud boom of the emcee’s voice through the microphone as he says:
“And up next we got… Tina!”
“Let’s go, T!” you shout through hands crowded around your mouth, in an effort to increase your volume of sound.
Carmy cheers, clapping his hands together as Richie enthusiastically chants Tina’s name while Tina makes her way to the stage.
“This is gonna be good,” Sugar nudges you, from where you are, seated in between the Berzatto siblings.
You nod your head in agreement before settling in a little closer to Carmy.
“The queen, herself,” Sydney remarks, gesturing towards the stage as she and Fak both return to your table. Sydney pulls up a chair next to where you and Carmy sit while Fak joins Richie on the other side of it. “And the ONLY act that could follow our exceptional performance.”
“Well, exactly,” you agree, playfully.
You exchange a laugh with Syd, while Carmy playfully rolls his eyes at the two of you.
The crowded bar room goes quiet as soon as Tina reaches the stage, smiling nervously as she grabs the mic.
“This one goes out to our favorite Jeffrey. And his lady Jeff,” she begins, earning a round of cheers and hollers from the group you’re with. Tina blows a kiss you and Carmy’s way, before nodding at the emcee to begin.
“I love you guys.”
You hear the beginning notes of the iconic Etta James tune, gasping in anticipation of her song:
“at last my love has come along my lonely days are over and life is like a song.”
You sigh in admiration, a hand over your heart as Tina continues to sing. Her voice is powerful, soulful – perfect for the song, really – as she continues into the second verse.
“at last the skies above are blue my heart was wrapped up in clover the night I looked at you.”
This time, it’s Carmy who steals a glance your way, his mind taken back to that fateful night at a bar in Hell’s Kitchen, when he spilled his drink on you so many years ago. You’re entranced, enchanted, with Tina’s performance, and he thinks to himself, that maybe this is the best it’s ever going to get: being here with you, getting to love you, on the cusp of promising you ‘forever’ tomorrow.
Never had he expected that you’d make it this far. You’d always been so much cooler than him – well-liked, talented, funny – in and out of the kitchen, that he had no idea how the hell he was supposed to talk to you without vomiting all over your shoes out of nerves.
He can remember that night so vividly: standing there in the restroom of the bar he can barely remember the name of, while you stood across from him with the kind of glare on your face he swore could kill him. But you didn’t, and after many attempts to push you away, you asked him to be your friend, deeming it the day that started it all – a friendship that would teeter the line of friendship and something more, one that would bloom into the greatest love he’s ever known. As much as he hates to give Nate fucking Walker any kind of credit, he’ll the be first in line to say he’s glad the jagoff pushed him into you, setting it all in motion.
You can see that Carmy’s become distracted, lost in thought as the song finishes, something behind your favorite pair of blue eyes as the entire bar ignites into a huge round of celebratory claps for Tina’s performance.
You look up over at him, setting your beer bottle down on the table before leaning over to whisper in his ear.
“I can hear you thinkin’ over there, Berzatto,” you tease him quietly, pulling him from his trip down memory lane. “It’s only the night before the biggest day of your life. Relax.”
Carmy rolls his eyes playfully in response, but before he can properly respond to your jab, the emcee has begun introducing the next karaoke singers to the stage.
“Alright. Looks like I’ve got uh… three singers here this time,” the emcee says, his voice cutting sharply through the crowd of remaining cheers. “Let’s welcome Sydney back to the stage with… Sugar and… the bride to be!”
“What!?” you exclaim, your eyes wide with surprise as Sydney jumps to her feet.
“But I didn’t-,” you begin to protest, as Sugar pulls you to your feet, tugging on your arm.
“Oh there’s no way in hell we’re letting you sit this one out,” Sugar orders you, as Sydney rushes to your side, ushering you towards the stage.
“Yeah this was your idea!” Sydney simultaneously reminds you.
“Babe! Help!” you call out to Carmy, only to be met with a shrug and a look that says ‘don’t think I could if I tried.’
“Oh, he’s in on this,” Sydney adds, which does explain why he didn’t even attempt to help you when your friends began dragging you out of your chair. “So don’t even think about asking him for help.”
“Wh-? But I don’t even know what we’re singing!” you continue to protest, looking from Sugar to Sydney as they push you onto the stage with them.
“Trust,” Sydney reassures you, her face serious, while Nat slides a sash over you (one you’ve refused to wear all night) that has the word, ‘BRIDE’ printed over it in huge gold lettering. You groan, sending a glare in Nat’s direction, even though you know it’s all in good fun.
You hear Richie shout, while Fak and Marcus clap loudly, and Carmy laughs, shouting words of encouragement your way.
You know there’s no use in putting up a fight, especially since this was your idea anyways, as you begrudgingly take one of the three wireless mics. Before you can ask once more, what the hell Syd and Nat signed the three of you up to sing, a distinct slide of piano keys comes in, lighting up the karaoke screen in front of you.
You grin immediately, in recognition, and to your two best friend’s delight, as they smile too, raising the mics to your lips to sing:
“friday night and the lights are low looking out for a place to go where they play the right music getting in the swing you come to look for a king.”
You laugh as your friends point towards Carmy on the last line. The three of you continue to sing the next part with reckless abandon, and all is forgiven.
You could care less about how the three of them conspired against you to get you up here. All that matters now is that you’re here, singing one of your favorite songs with your best friends, grooving and dancing to the ABBA classic, as you prepare to marry your best friend.
“you can dance you can jive having the time of your life ooh, see that girl watch that scene digging the dancing queen.”

"what good is love without any strings?" dayglow, 'close to me'
“Baby.”
Carmy groans in response, as soon as he hears the low hum of your voice.
“Good morning,” you say, a soft smile on your face as you watch him begin to blink his eyes open.
Carmy turns his head towards you, and he can’t believe he gets to wake up to this – to you – every single day.
“Hey,” he says back, a soft smile spreading across his lips. “Good Morning, sweetheart.”
“Guess what?” you ask him with the kind of glee and anticipation as a kid on Christmas morning.
“Hmm?” he hums, as you smooth a hand over his chest, your body pressed against his side as you look at your soon-to-be husband.
“We’re getting married today,” you grin, a giddiness that bubbles inside of you.
“‘S that so?” he mumbles, playfully.
“Uh huh,” you nod with a chuckle, this time playing along. “Don’t tell me you forgot.”
Instead of replying with words, Carmy swiftly wraps an arm around you, before flipping you so that you’re the one on your back this time. You let out of a shriek and a laugh as he leans down, pressing a gentle kiss to your lips before adding:
“How could I ever?”
You shrug casually, “Weeeelll…. you just have so much going on up there.” You reach up to where Carmy hovers above you, brushing a golden curl out of his eyes as you continue your little dance.
“You know, between the restaurant and all that time spent being a genius,” you joke, bantering with Carmy. “Don’t know how you have the time to remember silly little things like wedding dates and what not.”
“You’re ridiculous,” Carmy laughs, shaking his head incredulously, before pressing another kiss, this one much deeper to your lips again.
And this time, as he pulls away, he gives you one of those languid looks that pierces right through your soul replying much more seriously this time with:
“I could never forget you.”
The way he says it with such conviction takes your breath away, and you know that Carmy means it. The double meaning isn’t lost on him either.
It’s one of the reasons he called you all those years ago to come teach Marcus; it’s why you ended up in Chicago:
Because as much as he tried, as damn good at compartmentalizing as he’d always been, he really could never forget you. Carmy shakes his head once more, a playful smile on his face as he leans down to kiss you again, wondering when the hell he got this fuckin’ sentimental. As he places his mouth over yours, you’re more than happy to switch gears into doing this dance for a little longer.
Carmy traces light shapes against your skin, his mouth pouring love into yours with every kiss, with every drag of his tongue. You gasp as he grinds his hips into yours, making it clear where he’d like this all to go. You pull away, only for a moment, giggling cheekily.
“Babe, I-,” you begin to protest, as Carmy chuckles, continuing to kiss you with zero intention of stopping “We… we’re going to be late.” This time, you feel his hands snake underneath the t-shirt you’ve been sleeping in, sending chills down your spine.
“And-, Carm-, I-, I have to do my hair for-, … and what about-, my parents, they’ll-,” you stammer through, your thoughts becoming all kinds of disorganized with the way Carmy’s lips move against your neck this time.
“I’ll be quick,” he answers with an aplomb you didn’t know he had in him.
“I don’t know if that’s the flex you think it is,” you tease him as his hands begin to cup your breasts, your body responding with an involuntary arch of your back.
“How fast I can make you come? I think it might be?” he murmurs against your lips, cockily.
“Carmy,” you moan, as he begins to pull your t-shirt up higher, making it incredibly difficult to think of your to-do list for much longer.
“Oh fuck it,” you sigh, deciding that, perhaps there’s no harm in getting the honeymoon started a little early anyways.
“That’s my girl,” Carmy whispers against you, grinning like a Cheshire cat as you surrender to him.
And he’s right about this too.
How fast he can make you cum deserves all kinds of bragging rights, awards – a Nobel Peace prize, even – and you’re not sure why you thought getting a head start on doing your hair would’ve been the better idea in the first place. You spend the morning in the arms of the man you plan to spend forever with as he writes love letters, promises to give you the world, declarations of adoration with the pleasure he brings you. And besides, you’re not running all that behind on time anyways – something you realize, as the two of you get out of the shower (a round two, really).
It takes a little longer than expected – mostly due to the fact that you and Carmy can’t seem to keep your hands off of each other – but against all odds, the two of you pull up to the courthouse right on time.
It’s a sight for sore eyes: you, running hand in hand with your husband-to-be in a white, halter-cut wedding dress while Carmy follows along, in a classic black suit – no tie around the neck – as the two of you hurry into the courthouse.
Sure, you could’ve tried to get here early – saved a little time and stress – but where’s the fun in that?
The two of you approach your families, hand in hand, to the sounds of your heels clicking against the marble floors of City Hall. The actual ceremony at City Hall, you’d both decided, would be family only.
Since you weren’t making a huge deal of it, you viewed this part as necessary paperwork, while the party itself could function as the ceremony and reception. But as soon as you see the look on your parents’ faces, you know this is more than just a few signed papers. You watch as their faces change, from impatient, waiting, eager, to in awe and emotional as you walk towards them.
You hear Ava shout your name, immediately dropping her dad’s hand as she runs towards you.
“Ava!!” you exclaim, bending down in your heels and white dress to scoop her up into a hug. You spin her around, just for a moment, before setting her back down on the floor.
“You look like a princess,” she says, completely in awe, her eyes wide as she looks up at you.
“You look like a princess, sweetie,” you reply, before giving her another hug. “And you know I can’t wait to hear your song, right?”
“I picked the best one,” she grins, proudly.
“I’m sure you did,” you reply confidently, with a playful wink.
“Oh-ho! Pay up, Rick,” Sugar mutters smugly, to Richie, as Carmy busies himself with greeting both of your parents.
Richie groans, muttering something profane as he not-so-discreetly hands Nat a $20 bill, earning a quizzical look from both of your parents that travels from Carmy and then to you.
“Sorry,” Richie apologizes, this time directing this one towards your parents as he holds up both hands, respectfully bowing his head.
You send a playful glare Richie’s way, earning a sardonic laugh from Natalie, as you push right past him and over to your parents.
“Oh sweetie,” your mom gasps, pulling you in for a tight squeeze.
“Hi, Mom,” you grin, as you hug her. “Dad!”
“My God, honey, you look beautiful,” your dad says, as it’s his turn next. You hug your dad, exchanging a few words about the morning, asking how they slept, how the hotel is, as your mom and Carmy hug it out.
This time, he turns his attention towards Carmy, so you release him, letting the two of them have their moment.
Taking your chance, while your parents are otherwise distracted, you make your way over to where Sugar and Richie stand.
“What? You guys were betting on whether or not we’d be late?” you ask Sugar, an eyebrow quirked in Richie’s direction.
“Listen,” Sugar sighs, cupping your face in her hands, endearingly. “You and Carm are nothing if not consistent.” You exchange a laugh with your almost-sister-in-law because you know she’s right. “And for the record, I bet that you’d be-.”
“Just in time!” the judge says, as he approaches the six of you, slipping his judge robe over his shoulders, black leather fold pressed against his chest. “You guys ready to get started?”
Carmy looks over at you, as if he’s waiting for you to take the lead here, and you nod, before the both of you turn back to the judge.
“Yes.”
“Great,” he smiles, clapping his hands together once. “Then let’s get you two married!”
"sooner or later, you'll find yourself right where you were, on the corner went looking for her, she had somethin' to tell you, she can't quite remember, but wait for a second, it always comes back to her, you always come back to her." -- the japanese house, 'morning pages'
And after dotting all appropriate i’s and crossing all necessary t’s, with one signed marriage license later, you, Carmy, your parents, Richie and Ava, Sugar, and Judge Thompson find yourself on the green roof of City Hall.
Carmy stands across you, his hands in yours, offering you a lifetime with one look from the most expressive blue orbs you’ve ever found yourself in.
“If you’d like to say something, if you prepared any vows… now would be the time,” Judge Thompson says, offering you and Carmy both the space to do so.
“Oh I think we-,” you begin, ready to decline the opportunity since you figured you’d save it for the reception.
“Actually uh, yeah. Can we?” Carmen interjects, sending you a look of reassurance.
“Of course,” Judge Thompson nods, giving you and Carmy the floor.
“Carm, I didn’t prepare anything for-,” you begin, but he’s quick to put your mind and heart at ease and he interjects with:
“It’s okay. I did.”
“Oh.”
You hadn’t expected this, since you both agreed you’d save any kind of speeches that may or may not happen today during the reception. But as Carmy’s palms grow clammier, a nervous look in his eyes as he searches for the words he’s practiced over the last few days, it becomes clear that he’s been planning this.
“As you know… I’m not always great with words,” he begins, almost apologetically, letting out a small laugh as he looks to Richie for reassurance. In turn, Richie gives Carmy a sympathetic nod, and you’re practically melting over the fact that he probably asked Richie for help with this.
Let it rip.
“I just uh-,” Carmy stammers, because he really, really wants to get this right. “Well, I’ll keep it brief.” He takes a breath, letting all of his nerves out on the exhale before beginning again.
Let it rip, buddy.
“I have loved you for so long – I think maybe since the day you brought me soup after I uh… you know, spilled my drink on you,” he states, earning the sweetest laugh from you, your friends, and family that came to witness.
“-- so I promise to love you for even longer, for forever. You changed my life.”
You exhale, trying your best not to cry right here and now, thankful for the mysterious powers of waterproof mascara.
“Jeez, no pressure,” you joke, dryly, before taking another breath, this time approaching your words with much more seriousness.
“Carmen. I’m so happy… that I changed your life,” you begin, cheekily, earning a laugh from your witnesses once more. “Because you changed mine. And I promise to love you forever.”
‘I love you,’ Carmy mouths to you, before nodding towards the judge to signal that you’re both done with your vows.
“Alright then,” Judge Thompson smiles, looking from you and then to Carmen, before uttering the question that will change the course of your life forever.
“I do,” Carmy replies, his voice even, sure, ready.
Natalie steps up this time, handing Carmy your ring, and you watch, teary eyed and full hearted as he slides it onto your left ring finger.
“And do you take Carmen Anthony Berzatto to be your lawfully wedded husband?” Judge Thompson repeats the question, this time for you to answer.
“Yeah, why the hell not?” you reply, earning a groan from your mother and a playful chuckle from your father.
“Yes. I do.”
At Richie’s encouragement, it’s Ava this time who steps up, handing you Carmy’s ring, with the sweetest most excited smile on her face as she looks from you to Carmy. You thank her, before returning your attention to Carmy once more. His eyes search your face, and there’s something so soft, so genuine in them that you think you’re going to cry as you help him put on his new piece of jewelry as well.
“Then by the power vested in me by the State of Illinois, I now pronounce you, husband and wife,” Judge Thompson concludes, contently.
“Should we-, do we kiss?” Carmy asks, looking from you to Judge Thompson.
“I’m just a civil servant but you may, yes,” he answers lightheartedly.
“Let’s go for it,” you shrug, taking a step towards Carmy.
Instead of answering, he smiles, stepping towards you before planting one on you in front of your friends and family that were invited to this brief ceremony.
While Sugar claps gleefully, Richie claps along muttering a ‘get a room,’ while you remind Carmy to keep it PG enough for your parents. You giggle, slowly pulling away from the kiss that begins the rest of your life with the man that you love.
“We did it, baby. We’re married,” you chuckle, in disbelief.
“Finally,” Carmy sighs, and you can see his smile from his lips to the crinkles in the corners of his eyes.
It doesn’t take long for your mom to usher both you and Carmy over to a spot in the garden she thinks will be best for pictures, just as the photographer arrives. She wasn’t wrong when she insisted you hire one, that you’d want to remember this day for the rest of your life. The photographer, who is incredibly talented, gets the shots needed up here in the garden, then downstairs, and outside, before you’re all off to Sugar’s place for the reception.
As you and Carmy sit in the car, having taken a separate one than your parents, you’re giddy with anticipation.
It’s all so surreal.
Never in his life did Carmy picture it ever getting this good, but as he looks over at you, your head resting on his shoulder, he presses a kiss to the top of your head, smiling to himself.
“We did it, sweet girl. We’re married,” he says, repeating your words from earlier.
“Yeah,” you grin, lifting your head off of his shoulder.
“We are, Bear.”
"give your heart and soul to me, and life will always be la vie en rose."
Tumblr media
“No, Sugar! That’s not supposed to go out yet. Everything’s goin’ out family style. Let’s just take out the apps for-,” Carmy exclaims, stressed over the execution of your wedding reception-slash-brunch, because he just can’t help himself.
“Fuckin’ Christ, Bear!” she snaps at her brother. “Will you calm down and let us handle this?”
“I just want everything to-,” Carmy begins, his face blushing a shade darker.
“To go right. We know. And we know we’re just taking out apps, alright? Everyone else is outside, and everyone’s having a good time so just… relax,” she suggests, her tone serious because she’s just about to kick Carmy out of the kitchen.
Carmy shifts nervously, hyper-fixating on the happenings of the kitchen, his eyes tracking the movements of one of his caterer, Derek’s, sous chefs. It’s almost as if he needs to give himself a distraction as he asks, blankly:
“Do you uh… you think Mom is actually gonna show?”
Sugar pauses, the question throwing her.
“I… I don’t know. I called her yesterday. She never picked up. What do you think?” she replies, her voice quiet.
With your encouragement, you and Carmy had sent his mother an invitation to the brunch, only it’s been Sugar who’s followed up with her.
“We did what we needed to and if she doesn’t come, then she doesn’t come. I’m not pushin’ it,” Carmy had explained, justifying his actions, or rather, lack there of, to you.
She’s doubtful, but Nat can’t help the tiny glimmer of hope she has in her heart that Donna might show, even if she knows it’s unrealistic. In fact, her mom had barely been interested in stopping by as of late, ever since she’d told the Berzatto matriarch that she was pregnant. She keeps telling herself that it doesn’t matter – that it’s probably better if Donna doesn’t show – but it doesn’t help ease the disappointment she feels about the situation as a whole.
“Doubt it, honestly. Never even got an RSVP so,” Carmy shrugs, his eyes following one of the caterers as the woman plates a few Hors d'oeuvres on a large serving platter.
Before Sugar can say anything else about their mom, Carmy’s impulse takes over as he opens his mouth to give feedback to one of Derek’s assistants.
“Carmy!” she snaps, blocking his pathway with her body, before repeating one more time:
“Let. Us. Handle this.”
“I mean, are any of us actually surprised, Nat?” Sydney adds, as soon as she enters the kitchen from where she’s been outside in the backyard, in search of another plate to bring out. “He’s a control freak! We know this!”
“I-,” Carmy starts, knowing it’s no use protesting, as both Sugar and Syd begin guiding him out of the kitchen and into the living room.
“C’mon, Carm. Why don’t you go see what your wife is up to?” Sydney suggests, emphasizing your new title, earning a snicker from Natalie.
“Who’s wife? This wife?” you ask, as soon as your feet hit the bottom of the staircase.
“Woah,” is all Carmy says. He can’t help but stare, gawking at you in your new dress.
You’ve changed out of your near-floor length wedding dress into a sleeveless white blazer dress that’s much more friendly to hanging out with your friends and family outside, kept your hair the same, and put on one of those super stay red lipsticks that you’re eager to put through its paces.
It’s as if time stops when he sees you, and Sugar and Syd both notice, using this time to retreat back to their duties. The only thing that can break his focus right now is the way that you let a carefree laugh fly from your lips, as soon as you see that Natalie’s using the future baby’s baby gate that Nat must’ve purchased early, to officially block Carmy from coming back to the kitchen.
“What?” Carmy asks, only to be met with a gesture towards what Natalie is doing.
He frowns, immediately seeing the baby gate his sister has put up.
“You know, I’m not a baby,” he pouts at his sister.
“Then stop acting like one!” she parries right back, before disappearing into the kitchen to help out your caterer.
Quick to console your husband, you wrap your arms around your neck, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips.
“They’re only trying to make sure we have a good time, Bear,” you offer, sympathetically, only to be met with a heavy sigh because you know it feels near-impossible for him not to be in the kitchen.
“You trust Derek right?” you ask this time, referring to the caterer that Carmy hand-picked for your wedding.
“Yeah,” he nods.
“Okay. Then let’s go out there. Make our grand entrance,” you suggest, a playful smile on your lips.
“Yeah,” Carmy nods again, this time a little more sure about taking a step away from what’s happening inside the kitchen. You take his hand, leading him towards the back door that opens up to the backyard.
You’re truly amazed at what everyone involved has been able to do this morning, while you and Carmy were off at the courthouse getting married. Long tables pushed together and covered with tablecloths function as the main attraction of the you-and-Carmy-wedding-reception-brunch, filled with ceramic plates, printed menus, apps on serving platters, taper candles and flowers in all kinds of little to big vases.
The minute the two of you enter the backyard area that’s been transformed into a wedding venue, you’re met with cheers, ooo’s and aaaaah’s, claps, and congratulations by your friends and family.
“Sugar really knocked this out of the park,” Carmy says, in awe as he takes in the scene. “Okay, fine. I’ll just have to trust, I guess.”
You nod, happy to hear the confidence in his voice as you agree, “That’s my guy!”
There’s a banner that hangs across a much smaller table, the one that holds the stunning wedding cake Marcus has made for you that reads, Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Berzatto.
“See? I told you I couldn’t wait to be Mrs. Berzatto,” you joke with Carmy, as the two of you walk hand in hand towards the table.
“I think I like the sound of that more than I should,” Carmy smirks, a glimmer in his eyes that says ‘I can’t wait to get you alone.’
“Can’t wait for you to show me later,” you wink, referring to the long weekend you plan on spending with Carmy as a pre-honeymoon. “C’mon. We should probably go say hello.”
“So… you two married now or what?” Marcus asks, as soon as the two of you approach the table.
You hold up your left hand, showing off your new ring, earning grins and more cheers from your friends and family.
“That’s what I’m talking about!” he celebrates, while Tina simultaneously and enthusiastically cries out: “Congratulations, babies!”
The plan is to divine and conquer. While you chat with Gary, Carmy lets himself become enveloped in Tina’s arms and praise, as the two of you make your way down the table saying hello to your guests: your parents, Marcus, Tina, Ebra, Fak, Gary, a few others from the restaurant, while.
Carmy’s glad you decided to keep this wedding small: close friends and family only, because he’s not sure he could’ve done any more of this. It’s just close friends from the restaurant and your parents. You’d even decided earlier that this weekend would be chill enough that you’d celebrate with Maya and Liz a few months later when you and Carmy stop in New York before the official honeymoon, planning another celebration with your New York people for later.
Besides, you don’t mind celebrating you and Carmy a few more times, after all.
Finally, you’re both able to settle into the empty chairs seated right next to your parents in the middle of the table labeled ‘bride’ and ‘groom.’ It’s a Saturday well spent, being celebrated by some of your favorite people in the world on a day you made a promise to your favorite person in the world. It doesn’t take long for everyone in the kitchen to join you at the table: Sugar, Richie, Sydney, and Pete, and once the meal is served, family style, you’re pulling up chairs and insisting that Derek and his team join you as well.
The menu is perfect, and you can see why Carmy’s been trying to get this guy to come work for him for so long. Next to Carmy’s, this carbonara might be your second favorite carbonara on the planet. After all the eating, drinking, and merry-making, it’s Richie who steps up to start the speeches, gently tapping a butter knife against a champagne glass as he stands at the table.
“Can I get everyone’s attention?” he asks, his voice loud. Richie raises his champagne glass as he begins his speech with:
“Now as the best man and this Bobby Flay-motherfucker's cousin, I think I earn the right to kick this thing off, eh?” earning a laugh from everyone around the table.
“To Carmy and his much, much better half,” he continues, earning a laugh from everyone around the table. Your mom squeezes your hand under the table, and out of the corner of your eye you can see Sydney nudging Carmy softly as Richie addresses you.
“You once made me $150 richer.” You laugh, exchanging a look with your now-husband, as you fondly remember the day you returned to Chicago, only to learn that the entire restaurant staff of The Bear had been betting, not on if, but on when you’d return.
“You see, we all took bets – all of us – that you were comin’ back after that first week you spent here in Chicago, and you know why? I think it was obvious to any jagoff with a pair of eyes that what you and Cousin had was something special – something not to be missed, or overlooked, or skipped over. And thank God you two idiots woke up and figured it out yourselves. You did good, cousin. And I know your brother would’ve wanted to be here for this. I love you, man. I love you both.”
“To this very special day, and to the rest of your lives. Cheers.”
“Cheers!” everyone repeats, raising their glasses, clinking in celebration.
The upside to having a small wedding party is having a small wedding party, and the downside is that everyone who feels the need to get in a word does so. While Ebraheim waxes on about love as a metaphor, Marcus keeps his toast short, leading to the cutting of your wedding cake:
Vanilla bean cake, with a clementine curd, a swiss meringue buttercream, decorated with delicate flowers, citrus, and dollops of curd to finish.
Richie slips out with Pete momentarily, earning a few quizzical looks from both Carmy and Nat as she gets up from the table to make sure they’re not trading punches in the driveway. It’s not till Richie returns with Pete, carrying a rented little karaoke machine for Ava. Hand in hand, you watch as Natalie guides Ava up and out of her chair, and over to the head of the table, handing her the microphone.
“You ready, sweetheart?” she asks, earning a confident nod from Ava.
The beginning of the famous Taylor Swift begins to play, and you and Carmy exchange a knowing look as she begins to sing along.
“we were both young when i first saw you i close my eyes and the flashback starts i'm standin' there on a balcony in summer air.”
As Natalie and Pete watch on, Pete hugs his wife close to her, tears in his eyes as he whispers:
“This is going to be us very, very soon.”
“Yeah,” Nat nods, holding back her own tears as she notices how proud Richie looks, and how happy Ava seems to be.
It’s not that she wants Donna here. Realistically, she knows that it would be a nightmare, most likely descending into drama and chaos from the minute she walked in, but she can’t believe that her own mother didn’t come to her son’s wedding. She shouldn’t be surprised, but it hurts more than she imagined, doing this, watching Carmy get married, having this baby with Pete, all without her.
Ava finishes her Taylor Swing song to a resounding and enthusiastic round of applause. Marcus cheers her on while you and Carmy share a soft, chaste kiss, welcoming Ava with open arms as she runs towards you.
“That was so good, baby,” Richie exclaims, when it’s his turn to scoop Ava up into his arms as you get out of your seat. Allowing Richie to sit next to Carmy while the two gush over her performance, you get up, eager to help put the karaoke machine away.
As she watches, Nat reminds herself that this is what family looks like – this is the family she wants for her baby – even if it means something, someones, are missing.
And it’s as if she can’t hold back her tears anymore, excusing herself as she jerks her body away from Pete’s grasp, hurrying back inside so as not to cause a scene.
“What just-?” Pete begins.
“I’ll go,” you assure him, having witnessed the whole interaction. “I-, it’s not you, Pete. I’ll go.”
It doesn’t take you long to find Nat, though she’s not where you expected her to be, having run all the way upstairs when you find her sitting on the floor of the baby’s nursery – one you helped paint and get ready over a month ago.
“Hey, everything alright?” you ask, as you gently push the door open.
“Yeah, no, I’m fine,” she sniffles, wiping tears out of her eyes as she realizes she’s no longer alone.
“Nat, what… what’s going on?” you ask her, joining her on the floor.
But it seems as if your question only makes it worse as her face crumbles once more, beginning to cry.
“Oh no! I-, Nat, sweetie, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean it even worse.”
“No, no, you didn’t. It’s just these… stupid pregnancy hormones!” she exclaims, frustratedly, earning a small laugh from the both of you.
She takes a beat, and then a breath, and then finally, she feels ready to tell you.
“It’s Mom,” she admits, even though she really doesn’t want it to be. “I just can’t believe she didn’t show. It’s stupid, I know.”
You nod in understanding, before scooting a little closer to her, “It’s not stupid! And I’m sorry. For the both of you, really. Carmy doesn’t want to talk about it but, I know he’s some combination of relieved and disappointed too.”
Sugar sighs, “Yeah that uh, that sums it up pretty well. About anything involving Mom these days.”
Nat takes another breath, and another beat, because she knows she’s safe to share this with you.
“I just… I’ve just been thinking a lot… with the baby and everything. About family. About motherhood. I mean, your parents are so great and I-. I’m just sad for us, you know?”
“I’m sad for you too,” you empathize, rubbing soothing circles on her back, before leaning back on both of your hands instead.
“God, I’m so sorry. It’s your wedding day and I’m causing all the drama,” Nat begins to apologize.
“Oh, you have nothing to be sorry for!” you interrupt her, quick to dismiss any notion of that. “You lent us your house and put together all of this in your backyard on top of accompanying us to the courthouse! You have nothing to apologize for.”
Sugar nods slowly, processing what you’ve just said, realizing that you and Pete have been such big role models of unconditional love for her.
“Wanna know what I think?” you ask, your voice a little more optimistic this time.
“What’s up?” she asks back, stealing a glance your way.
“I think… that now that I’m a Berzatto… and with your little Bear on the way,” you begin, painting her the picture. “We’ve got a whole new chance to write a new chapter for the Berzattos.”
She looks your way once more, because these are the words she didn’t know she needed to hear.
“And with that… we can make this… make our families anything we want them to be filled with love, and joy, and-, well, only a little drama because you know, you guys are… you. But… Sug. This can all start with us, you know?”
“You really think so?” she asks you, a hopeful look in her eyes.
“Yeah,” you answer, confidently.
She nods slowly once more, almost as if she’s letting herself believe them.
“Thank you. For checking in on me. For… this,” she says softly, sniffling again.
“That’s what sisters are for,” you repeat her words back to her, one’s that she’s said to you time and time again.
“We should probably get back out there,” Sugar suggests, sitting up a little taller this time.
“Yeeeaaaaahhhhh,” you sigh, disappointedly, this time making a joke as you continue with: “We don’t want to start any rumors about us running away together.
Nat snorts with laughter, thanking you for always making her laugh, as you stand up, making your way to your feet. You hold out your hands, helping Nat up to hers this time, before the two of you head back downstairs.
“Hey,” Carmy says, as soon as he sees the two of you. “Pete said you disappeared.”
“We were just talking about some stuff,” you reply, sharing a look with Sugar before releasing her hand.
“I’ll leave the two of you to it,” she says, before slipping out through the back door.
“Everything okay?” Carmy asks, his brow knitted together in concern.
You nod, “Yeah, she’s alright. How’re you doing?”
“Today? I’m the luckiest man in the world,” he replies, a smile on his lips that makes you melt.
“Damn right you are,” you reply, pressing your lips against his.
It’s a private moment for just you two, where you can kiss him like you want to, and you have to admit that the lipstick holds up. Wrapping your arms around his neck as his hands go to your waist, you propose a grand idea to your husband:
“Now that cake has been cut… what do you say… we spend a little more time with our guests, say our goodbyes… then we get our honeymoon started early? Think uh… our room at the Langham should be ready by now.”
“Thought we already did that this morning,” Carmy smirks, kissing you again.
You giggle, leaning your forehead against his, “You know what I mean, jerk.”
Carmy scoffs, shaking his head incredulously as he feigns hurt, “Married for a few hours and you’re already insulting me.” Instead of adding anything else, he simply pulls you in closer by your hips murmuring against your lips:
“Alright then, Mrs. Berzatto. Then let’s go say goodbye to our guests.”
“it's a love story, baby, just say, "yes" – taylor swift, ‘love story’

Platonic Aizawa and Present mic where they reader looks like they’re about to having a mental breakdown any second and she doesn’t take her medication. (I just cheek my medication or just don’t take them)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: mental breakdowns, reader hates meds (like me), forced medicine intake, talks of punishments since she/her pronouns are used in the ask, those will be used. KO-FI
Reader hates her meds, everyone knew it, it was quite obvious. Often their friends in 1-a had to beg them to take her medication. And Reader took her medication so that they wouldn’t tell Aizawa or his partner Hizashi.
Only this time, Hizashi and Aizawa noticed themselves.
“Reader is scared, she had been targeted by Dabi herself, so maybe she simply didn’t notice the way she was acting.” Hizashi told Aizawa, trying to defuse the situation. Aizawa always had the worst yandere tendencies of the two. “Iida told me she didn’t take her meds 5 times this week.” Aizawa hissed at Hizashi. “I am simply going to check if she took them.”
“Reader.” Aizawa tapped Reader’s shoulder, they were in the library. “Aizawa-sensei?” Reader mumbled out. “What is wrong, is there a new mission?”
Aizawa shook his head. “No, did you take your medication?”
Reader chuckled nervously; “So that’s what you want..”
“Did you take them?” Aizawa pressed, Reader shook her head. “They make me feel slow, I need to be on guard right now.”
This was an obvious lie.
“You are completely safe in U.A, and if I remember correctly you have no home visits.” Aizawa stated. “So that excuse is bullshit, follow me.”
“But, I still have to study sensei.”
“You can study later.” Aizawa hissed. “Don’t make me drag you.”
“Fine, fine, I’ll follow you.” Reader mumbled. Aizawa asked Hizashi to follow them as well. “What is this an intervention?” Reader joked when they arrived in the teacher lounge, the place she was usually brought to when she was going to get scolded. She then saw Hizashi pull her meds out.
“You are going to be taking your meds in front of us now.” Hizashi told her gently. “And if you don’t we will have to punish you.” Aizawa interrupted. Reader’s eyes widened; “Excuse me? You guys aren’t my parents!”
“We might as well be.” Hizashi mumbled, and Aizawa nodded in agreement. “Your parents are doing a shit job, letting you skip your medication so much.”
“Hizashi-sensei! How dare you talk about my parents like that!” Reader stood up angrily, and made the movement to walk away. Aizawa grabbed the pill out of his partner’s hand and showed it to Reader. “You better sit down, take your fucking pill and listen to us.”
“Fuck off.” Reader hissed, still angry at how they insulted their parents. Reader started to walk away only to be stopped by Aizawa's capture weapon. Hizashi moved to hold Reader down, cooing at them. “I am not mad at you, don’t worry.” He said as he saw Reader doing their best to get out of his arms. “I will forgive you for swearing at us if you take your meds.”
Reader shook her head, she didn’t want to take her medication. Especially around them, they seemed weirder than usual. And her medication makes her quirk weaker.
Hizashi tried to convince Reader to take it, and when Aizawa finally had enough he opened their mouth and put the pills in her mouth.
Before she could spit them out, he shut her mouth with his hand and closed her nose, forcing her to swallow the pills.
“Assholes.” Reader breathed out when she could speak again. “Now that is no way to speak to us.” Hizashi scolded Reader. “Maybe we should show the police the shit your parents have been pulling then we really will be your parents.”

starting high school was hard, especially as someone who is perceived as quiet. but it was easier for y/n knowing that she had her childhood best friend, han yujin, by her side.
they had been friends since diapers basically, their families being close friends for years. every big life event, they went through it together. all the times y/n cried, he was there for her even if he never truly knew how to comfort her. he was always the bestest friend someone could ask for.
so why was there this envious feeling that pitted in y/n's stomach when he started getting caught up in school events and gaining more friends than her when they entered highschool?
she should be happy that he's fitting in, he deserved all the attention he got. han yujin was one of the most liked students in the grade. with his popularity, soccer and dance skills, and — of course his good looks ; who wouldn't want to be his friend?
but that envious feeling kept on coming back whenever he had to skip out on eating lunch with her because "the soccer team is going out to eat" or whenever he told her to go walk home alone since "his friends wanted to hang out".
she was happy for him, but the idea of him slowly slipping away from her grasp made her heart ache. because the truth was, y/n had a crush on yujin. she had been having those feelings for a while now, maybe before she even realized it.
he was always there to cheer her up and gradually became one of the only things she enjoyed about going to school. whenever he took her to buy snacks, when they played games together, when they went to the park together, and his smile. especially his smile.
y/n sat down in the library since she hadn't fully adjusted to being in the cafeteria. sure, she had made some friends — but she wouldn't call them her close friends. even so, she hated loud noises and the cafeteria was filled with them.
just about now, she expected that yujin would enter the room to tell her about any plans his soccer team had made up to get him off campus for the period which left her all by herself.
as she took a bite out of her triangle gimbap, looking up from her notebook — there he was. the dark-brown haired boy who had been able to swoon her without even knowing it, walking through the doors in a black t-shirt since he most likely just got out of gym.
"y/n!" yujin called out, waving his hand in the air as he jogged over to her, "sorry i'm late, the showers kept being hogged. i didn't want to stink up the library, y'know."
"uhm, i think i know?" y/n questioned her answer, she knew absolutely nothing about sports. "wait, so you're actually going to eat lunch with me today? surprised you don't have anything going on, you've been so popular recently."
"what can i say? i'm quite the catch," yujin shrugged his shoulders with such a smug look on his face, "and i cleared everything! i feel like i haven't seen you in forever, i missed you."
he missed her. han yujin missed her. why was she freaking out on the inside? it's not like they haven't had a conversation before. but it felt different, like his tone had changed from the last time they had spoken. "cool," was all y/n could mutter as she tried to cover her rosy-tinted cheeks with her lunch.
but just as y/n was lost in her own world, yujin had gotten a message on his phone. here it goes. "oh my gosh... y/n, i—" he attempted to speak up before y/n shut him down, already knowing what he was going to say.
"go, it's okay," y/n assured even though her heart was breaking little by little. he had friends, other friends than her. it's not like he could spend all his time with her, it was ridiculous. but why was there this feeling inside her that wished he did?
"i'm so sorry, gyuvin hyung broke his leg and now we have to go over the plays again before the game," yujin explained, getting up while stuffing his phone into his pocket, "you'll be at the game on saturday, right?"
"well, i have nothing else to do," y/n slightly smiled, attempting to relax her back from all the tension she felt, "i'll be there for sure."
"great, i'll see you later!" yujin waved at her as he started walking away before he slowly disappeared into the hallways.
y/n was more used to it now, and she would probably have to accept it at one point. yujin was moving on with his life, experiencing new things. high school is meant for new experiences and it seemed like yujin was going through many things.
what she didn't expect to see? him and one of the cheerleaders hitting it off after he scored the winning goal during the soccer game. oh, how she wanted to shout his name after seeing the way he rebounded the ball and got the last goal ; but then she saw him with her.
she never really tried to learn the names of the people surrounding her, another flaw y/n had. all y/n knew was that yujin was hugging her and that she was jealous? envious? oh, same thing.
and from that day on, y/n would attempt to distance herself from yujin as much as she could. it wasn't like he would notice right? he had all his soccer friends and that girl he hugged. can she give up on the girl already?
it's not like yujin was her property, he was his own person. maybe in a way, to let him flourish ; she had to find her own path without him. maybe, this was just her way of masking her feelings for him in a way where she wouldn't have to get hurt.
one thing y/n didn't think about was how yujin would react to this. all this time, she was in her own world overthinking every single little thing. her bestfriend, who knows her and could read her like a book, was upset to say the least.
he thought she was acting weird at first, but didn't think anything of it until it constantly kept happening. all she would do is greet him and suddenly walk off without saying anything else. it was unlike y/n, she would always be the brightest girl whenever he was around.
it was one of the things he liked most about her, her smile. the way her eyes became cresents like the moon whenever she smiled, her lips curving up and the way her nose scrunched up in the most beautiful way.
maybe there were many things he liked about her. yujin could probably go on a tangent about everything he liked about y/n, the reason he smiled so brightly. it was her. so there was no way it was all in his head that they could've possibly had a spark there, right?
so when yujin found the girl asleep in one of the classrooms after failing to study for her biology exam ; he knew what he had to do.
oh how yujin slowly regretted his decision. he didn't want to wake her up, seeing how peaceful and pretty she was when she slept even if she was drooling all over her textbook.
but he knew if he didn't do it now, he would probably be even more distanced from you and he did not want that one bit. so he did what he dreaded doing and woke up y/n from her nap.
"y/n... psst— wake up," he whispered softly, poking her shoulder in an attempt to wake her up but nothing, "there's free food in the cafeteria!"
"huh? free food?" y/n suddenly jolted awake, looking around the room in a daze before her eyes landed back on yujin, "oh... it was a lie, wasn't it?"
"yeah, i knew that would wake you up though," yujin let out a laugh, sitting down in the chair next to y/n, "i'll get you something after school, i just need to talk to you for a bit."
god, there was that smile again. the smile that could make all the problems in the world disappear. why did he have to be the one with it?
"yeah uh— what did you want to talk about?" y/n snapped out of her thoughts, shaking her head slightly before fixing up her hair, "is it important?"
"you could say that..." yujin fiddled with his fingers for a moment, hesitating for a moment, "i just.. i feel like we haven't talked in a while, is everything okay with you?"
"yeah... everything is fine," y/n nodded her head in assurance. no everything was not fine. but she couldn't say anything about him hugging a girl, that would just be crazy. "i've just been a little busy, that's all."
"are you sure?" yujin questioned once again, "i feel like i barely see you now, i missed you and talking to you.." gosh, there it was again. he always knew the words to say.
"yeah, i'm sure... everything is fine," y/n repeated once more, giving yujin a smile that made him feel fuzzy on the inside. she watched his shoulders suddenly become tense before speaking up, "is there something else you wanted to talk to me about?"
"gosh, am i really going to do this now..." yujin looked to the side, taking a deep breath before searching for something in his pockets. "can you close your eyes for me?"
y/n looked at him confused before closing her eyes, feeling yujin's touch on her hand as he pulled it out and opened it up. right after, he placed something on her palm. "alright, you can open your eyes now."
this wasn't real right? this moment was just a figment of y/n's imagination. because why was yujin's nametag in her hand at this moment? she truely thought she was hallucinating, staring at the nametag with 한유진 embroidered on it.
"when we went to get our uniforms fitted, i had an extra nametag made.." yujin spoke in a shy tone, "and i just decided to... give it to you."
"so what does this mean?" y/n asked, wanting clarification for the sudden gift, "do you...?"
"oh so you're going to make me say it? the nametag was supposed to say it for me," yujin joked, hearing y/n's laugh that he loved so much, "fine, y/n... i like you, like a lot."
"that's better, i guess i like you too," y/n grinned, glancing at the sour look on yujin's face when she spoke, "i'm kidding! i like you a lot... and your smile too."
"truth is.. i thought you had a thing for that cheerleader you hugged on saturday," y/n admitted after all the time she spent hiding away, feeling a sense of relief after letting it out. "i was... jealous, okay? that's why i haven't talked to you."
"wow! i knew there was something behind it!" yujin pointed a finger at y/n like a little kid with his mouth gaping, "that's so silly... she's a senior, why would i date someone that much older than me. if anything, she gave me dating advice."
"oh.. yeah well— you've been so busy recently and i don't know what to think anymore!" y/n got off her chest, letting out a sigh after the long sentence she spoke without breathing.
"oh, now you wanna say all of these things? see, i can read you like a book, i knew it!" yujin clapped his hands at his knowledge of his best friend, laughing while y/n looked away out of embarrassment.
as y/n was looking away, she heard yujin's soft laughs slowly fade away before feeling him take a hold of her hand which made her look his way. gosh, he was looking at her with that cheekily smile again and those shining eyes.
"no matter what, i'll be here for you," yujin spoke sincerely, intertwining their hands together, "even if i can't spend time with you, i'm always here for anything you need. i'll drop anything for you."
"well..." y/n opened her mouth to speak but no words came out, leaving her with only one choice. she looked at her uniform, taking off her nametag from its spot and placing it onto yujin's other hand that wasn't holding her hand. "you better get me another one before i get scolded."
and that was it. or maybe, it was just the beginning? they're young, who knows where their relationship could go from there. kind of cute if you think about it, two students intertwined together. she fell for a smile that she gave.

The thing that gets me about people saying that we don't know what d'Eon's pronouns were is that we actually have much better information on her pronouns than we do for most historical figures.
Take Princess Seraphina for example. Most of what we know about Seraphina comes from the trial of Thomas Gordon (5 July 1732). In the trial some witnesses who knew Seraphina use she/her pronouns. For example this is how Mary Poplet talks about the Princess:
I have known her Highness a pretty while, she us’d to come to my House from Mr. Tull, to enquire after some Gentlemen of no very good Character; I have seen her several times in Women’s Cloaths, she commonly us’d to wear a white Gown, and a scarlet Cloak, with her Hair frizzled and curl’d all round her Forehead; and then she would so flutter her Fan, and make such fine Curties, that you would not have known her from a Woman: She takes great Delight in Balls and Masquerades, and always chuses to appear at them in a Female Dress, that she may have the Satisfaction of dancing with fine Gentlemen. Her Highness lives with Mr. Tull in Eagle-Court in the Strand, and calls him her Master, because she was Nurse to him and his Wife when they were both in a Salivation; but the Princess is rather Mr. Tull’s Friend, than his domestick Servant. I never heard that she had any other Name than the Princess Sraphina.
However others use he/him pronouns, this is how Mary Robinson talks about Seraphina:
I was trying on a Suit of Red Damask at my Mantua-maker’s in the Strand, when the Princess Seraphina came up, and told me the Suit look’d mighty pretty. I wish, says he, you would lend ‘em me for a Night, to go to Mrs. Green’s in Nottingham-Court, by the Seven Dials, for I am to meet some fine Gentlemen there. Why, says I, can’t Mrs. Green furnish you? Yes, says he, she lends me a Velvet Scarf and a Gold Watch sometimes. He used to be but meanly dress’d, as to Men’s Cloaths, but he came lately to my Mantua-maker’s, in a handsome Black Suit, to invite a Gentlewoman to drink Tea with Mrs. Tull. I ask’d him how he came to be so well Rigg’d? And he told me his Mother had lately sold the Reversion of a House; And now, says he, I’ll go and take a Walk in the Park, and shew my self.
So what do we make of this? Did Seraphina use both he/him and she/her pronouns or is Robinson misgendering Seraphina? This is an issue we unfortunately have when talking about queer people we have very little information on. We can guess at the answer but we can't know for sure.
But with d'Eon not only do we know that her friends, family and most of the English public used she/her pronouns for her but we even have examples of d'Eon using she/her pronouns for herself when writing in third person. This is probably the best evidence we are ever going to get for someone of this period. It's an amazingly clear source for the pronoun question. Like wow there's the answer right there in ink on paper.

Hopelessly in Love
My first angst?? This is based from an Indonesian song I've been listening to lately. Some part of the dialogue will be based on the lyrics
(Not Wandanat angst, no. Those bitchess stay happy. Not reader tho, reader gets heartbroken-)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reader description: Gender-neutral pronouns, leans more towards masculine style, childhood friends with Wanda.
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x Wanda Maximoff (Requited love), Wanda Maximoff x Reader (Unrequited love).
Summary: Wanda and Y/n has been best friends since childhood, they were the same age and live in the same neighborhood. Y/n have always had feelings for Wanda, but they never act up on it. Upon entering High School they finally decided enough is enough. Unfortunately for them, their older sister also took a liking on Wanda. The rebellious, well-known 'Heartbreaker of Westview High', Natasha Romanoff.
———
Upon learning that they both have their eyes on the same girl, Y/n and Natasha made a silly bet. Who can steal Maximoff’s heart first?
Wanda was obviously oblivious towards the Romanoff sibling’s little game. Natasha was sure of herself as she tends to have her ways around the people she fancied, Y/n was equally confident as well because they’re Wanda’s best friend since childhood.
Their little bet went on for months until eventually Wanda did developed romantic feelings. For who you may ask? For our very own, Natasha Romanoff. Some would say that Wanda simply fell for Natasha's flirty demeanor, but in reality, Wanda was really hard to get. Even for someone like Natasha Romanoff.
So overtime, Natasha started to see Wanda not as one of her little game. Rather, someone she genuinely wanted to spend time with romantically. Perhaps it was that change in her intentions that made Wanda fell in love with Natasha Romanoff.
So by the time Y/n decides to just simply confessed to Wanda, instead of flirting and dropping hints, It was far too late. "Y/n... I only see you as a friend, I'm sorry."
"I- Wanda I've liked you since first grade." Y/n pleaded.
"Stop it. I told you before I only see us as friends."
"Please, just try to get to know me better-"
"You're my best friend, of course I know you."
"I meant as a lover, Wanda. Not your best friend, or childhood friend." Wanda shook her head, unbelievable. The last thing she wanted was to have her own best friend confessed their love for her while her heart belonged to another.
"Before you spit on my confession. Before you rip my heart in two. Please, Wanda give me a chance."
"Y/n enough, I'm in love with Natasha-"
"And I can make you fall in love with me if you had just let me!" In truth yes perhaps that's what Wanda has been doing. Maybe she had brushed off Y/n's attempts at flirting as friendly banter, for what purpose she herself doesn't know.
"Y/n, I didn't know. I thought you were just being friendly because we jokingly flirt all the time!
"Even if you don't love me, I still want to try."
"I just can't see us being more than friends-" Wanda tried to reason once again.
"Just give it a little time." Christ, Y/n was just as stubborn as Natasha. "Let the love comes to you, eventually you'll get used to it."
Wanda sighed in frustration, maybe Y/n had a chance after all. "Please get out, I have a date with Natasha tonight. I need to get ready."
The younger Romanoff's heart shattered in two, "Wands-"
"Please?" Wanda requested softly, she may be frustrated. But they were still her dearest friend who's been with her through ups and downs.
As stubborn as they are, Y/n had to respect Wanda's decision. Reluctantly, they approached Wanda's door to take their leave. "Don't uh... Don't forget to bring a jacket, Tasha would probably pick you up on her bike." You can tell they were holding back tears.
"Thanks for the heads up."
"See you around, Wanda." With one last nod, they leave Wanda's house.
- The song -
The song is called Risalah Hati - Dewa 19
It's basically about being hopelessly in love with someone who doesn't love you back. (I made some slight variation to fit the dialogue)
Original lyrics: Kenali aku dulu Sebelum kau ludahi aku Sebelum kau robek hatiku Aku bisa membuatmu jatuh cinta kepadaku Meski kau tak cinta kepadaku Beri sedikit waktu Biar cinta datang karena telah terbiasa
Translated: Get to know me first Before you spit on me Before you rip my heart in two I can make you fall in love with me Even if you don't love me Give it a little time Let love come because you're used to it

cuddles pls and messing with her fingers and forehead touches pls!
lots of fluff! (maybe some angst with the whole marriage topic, considering it was 1996? or not, whichever, tyty:))
thank you sm!!! :) <3
thanks anon! this request made me kinda blush i love the physical intimacy it’s so cute. we need more jackie fics and im happy to deliver (hopefully you like it!) no pronouns used for reader, but they do discuss the marriage topic
100 follower event
warnings: fluff! and implied discussions of being unable to get married (ambiguous reasons but can be interpreted as same-sex marriage not being recognized by the law at the time)
looking out for you — jackie taylor
Tumblr media
A soft thud hits your back, eliciting a laugh out of you. You look up to see the culprit on the other side of her bed, Jackie, with a pillow in her hands.
“Did you just hit me with a pillow?” You grin, mirroring her smile.
She shrugs, doing it again.
“Hey!” You sit up properly to try and grab it out of her grasp, but you end up in a position you’d found yourself time and time again with her. She cages you in between her arms, getting you to lay on her while she throws the pillow across the room.
“Is this your way of asking me to cuddle?” You ask, already reciprocating her embrace.
“Mhm,” She hums.
“You’ve been quiet,” You whisper, pushing her hair out of her face. “What’s on your mind?”
“College,” she replies with a faraway look, but her stare is almost intense, as if she’s viewing the future through your eyes. (She is.) “I’m not forcing you to go to Rutgers, am I?”
The way her voice tapers off melts your heart. “You know I’ll go to the ends of the Earth for you, right?”
You know she was always the kind of person to be sure of herself—one of the reasons you fell deeply in love with the girl. But lately, as the future closes in, she’s been plagued with second thoughts ever since they lost Nationals and she had a fight with her best friend, Shauna, that almost ended their ten-year long friendship.
You pull away from the embrace, lying down completely on the bed when you signal for her to do the same. Both your eyes are on the ceiling.
“Talk to me,” You take her hand, intertwining it with your own.
“I am talking to you.”
“Okay, smartass,” you chuckle. “Tell me if everything you told me before Nationals.”
She remembers that night, ditching the party early to go home and spend the rest of the night in your arms while she tells you the ways you fit perfectly into her future life, then deeming it ‘our future,’ rather than hers alone.
“Well, she begins with a sigh. “You’re coming to Rutgers with me. We’ll do roadtrip with all our stuff packed into my mom’s minivan.”
You hum, nodding for her to continue.
“We’re both gonna work and get our own place by the second year, and it’s gonna have a cute theme, and there’s gonna be pictures of us on the wall to make people jealous.”
You laugh, “Who’s gonna come over to our place?”
“Our friends, of course. The team could visit.”
You begin playing with her hand, fiddling with the promise ring you’d given her junior year.
“We can go to college parties, and you’ll protect me from anyone who hits on me,” She giggles. “Obviously, we’re gonna study together. Hold each other accountable, right?”
“Right.” You bob your head, turning to admire her side profile.
“Then we’re gonna get a dog. Then a cat. Then we’ll make sure they’re friends.”
“Mhm.”
She can feel your stare, so she looks back. "What?" She chuckles.
"Nothing," You mutter. "You're just beautiful."
She grins wide, fully turning her body to the side so she can scoot closer to you. "You're a sap."
You look smug, "But you love it."
"I do," She puts a hand on your jaw, a soft touch that never gets old. At her own words, she is reminded of another thing. "We've never talked about getting married, have we?"
You don't miss the way her tone drops a little. "We haven't," you shake your head. "But you know I'll do anything for you. I'll marry you no matter what it takes."
Her eyes become glassy, and you press your forehead to hers.
"You wanna get married?" Her voice almost a whisper, you can feel her breath on your lips.
"I gave you the promise ring for a reason, Jackie." You say, a little more serious this time. "I'll make it happen. For both of us. And I know you're gonna look fucking amazing, and I'll cry when I see you in the dress."
"What did I do to deserve you?"
"I should be asking that question."
Becoming more comfortable, snuggling into her, you both fall asleep and dream of your future.

WIBTA for inviting my cousin to an LGBT meet up?
Cw: mentions of suicide and transphobia
I (18M) am a trans man and my cousin N (21F) is a lesbian who is very masc presenting. We're the only queer cousins in the family (at least in our generation) so weve always been good friends and shes been one of the biggest supporters of my transition, defended me from bigoted family members and always corrected family when they used my deadname/old pronouns. I lowkey hoped she would come out as a trans man or nonbinary as well. We dress in the same style which makes it so when were hanging out together one of us is gonna get misgendered since people asume both of us are trans men or masc girls. When N is the one being misgendered she doesnt bother fighting it since its more trouble than its worth but looking back i think it really annoyed her.
Earlier this year N was severely struggling with her mental health. I apologize for the wording i may have since i dont know the proper terminology for this stuff or any specific disorder diagnosis she may have (other than autism). She was having some sort of manic or depressive episode. She was dead set on pushing people away and making them hate her so she could take her own life without regrets.
I visited N once to give her my support during a struggling time but i stupidly told her there was nothing she could say that would push me away. She told me not to test her but i kept pushing it and i admit what happened next was my fault. She told me in a very cold voice that she was a terf, though that she didnt want me dead but that "we" (im guessing she meant trans ppl) made it so much harder for her to exist(???????). I didnt let her keep talking just and left her room, said my goodbyes to her family and just cried while driving home.
Im still not sure if she meant it or if it was part of her mental episode and just a way for her to hurt me and push me away. On one hand ig it explains some of her behavior? N sometimes complained when she got asked for her pronouns or being misgendered like I mentioned before. On the other hand, I gen do not believe she has been a terf all along esp with how supportive shes been of me. If she was a terf youd think she would try to subtly talk me out of it, but that has never happened. My friends have nicknamed her schrodinger's terf lol
Anyway, i went no contact with N for a few months for my own wellbeing. During this time i heard that she tried to kill herself a few times, which got her into a mental hospital. She was given higher doses of meds and seems to be doing way better.
We had a family reunion this week and i decided to approach her. N seemed a little hesitant to talk to me but stayed polite. I tried testing her and talked about the effects T has been having on me but she acted like she always had and congratulated me and even complimented me on how deep my voice has gotten. I wasnt satisfied cause i wanted an apology for what she had said to me so i pushed it more. She did end up apologzing but it was a very surface level apology. At this point i didnt want to keep pushing in case it set her off again so i just took her apology (plus i wanted my best cousin back) and spent the rest of the day hanging out with her.
On the way home my mom said she was happy me and N had made up and that i should invite her to the lgbt club meetings Ive been going to this year. It seemed like a good idea to me, she lost a few friends during her episode and she could make more queer friends here. If N is trans and just in denial it could help her get the resources she needs to feel comfortable coning out. If N IS a terf maybe having more positive interactions with trans ppl could change her mind on it. Overall i thought it would be a win for her.
I brought it up to my friends and some of them blew up at me. Their argument was that itd be exposing the other trans ppl in the group to a terf and putting them in danger. I truly hadnt considered this angle so im kinda conflicted now. She had never felt like an unsafe person before and now that her episode is over she feels normal again. Even if she is a terf i dont think she could actually cause harm? I want N to get better but i dont want to put my trans friends at risk.
So tumblr, WIBTA for inviting N to my lgbt meet up?
What are these acronyms?

Welcome Home
Daryl Dixon • She/Her Pronouns • The Commonwealth ain’t so bad right…? Maybe if he does what he’s told, his family will be safe. That’s what matters… • SFW/NSFW/ANGST • TW: Injuries / Pregnancy & Birth / Separation Anxiety / Scars • Ignoring S11’s canon
Tumblr media
“You really think this’ll help us…going to the Commonwealth?” Y/N frowns leaning against Daryl as the two were sat on the couch in his basement room. He gently takes her hand into his squeezing it. “For us…it…Judith and RJ…Dog? What about Maggie? She’s not going…”
“We’ll give it a test run…see what happens and Maggie she’ll be safe. She wants to stay to help rebuild”
“We could—-“
“Need to think about the kids…what’s best for them, so it’s really if they’ll like it” Daryl squeezes her hand again then letting go and resting it on her belly. “Even if we did stay, I wouldn’t let yea do the crazy workaholic shit you’d do. Just know I won’t let anything happen to yea or them…yer always my top priority”
Y/N rests her hand over his for just a moment before shifting to face him. Gently brushing the hair out of the way of his face.
“Daryl…”
“Hm?”
“Don’t let them break you…”
Being processed was a lengthy and annoying process to deal with. Makes one miss Rick’s three questions. Now it’s like a game of 20 questions and a job placement. Daryl obviously being put into training for security and Y/N got lucky being placed in the farming district where she got to work with somebody she knows, Ezekiel. Which also meant Daryl telling him the news and to keep an eye on her when he can’t.
“This reminds me of my apartment from the before…just. A little nicer”
“A little nicer? I’m afraid to even ask” Daryl laughs a bit setting his pack down as Dog instantly went to sniff around the entire place. “Uhm. We’ll take the only bedroom”
“Unless you want the kids to have it and we’ll sleep out here” Y/N states sitting down on one of the mattresses in the main room letting Dog jump to her laying in her lap.
Daryl instantly scoffs to such as he moves to sit beside her. “Nah. You’re pregnant. And I ain’t letting Dog jump on yea in the middle of the night”
“He’ll scratch the door if you keep it closed”
“Better than stomping on’em” He states grazing his fingers on her belly as Dog nips at him. “I swear! You can’t do that”
“Guess he’s going to be over-protective over this one too” She laughs petting Dog behind the ears as Daryl pulls her into his side kissing her temple.
“Don’t mean he can nip at me” He mumbles giving Y/N another kiss to the temple before shooing Dog off. “Gonna check the rest of the place before gettin’ the kids”
“Be careful, D”
“Nothin’ gonna scare me in this small ass apartment” Daryl rolls his eyes opening the closet for a broom to fall out and spook him. He sighs annoyed especially when his girl started to laugh because of that. “You saw nothing”
“Okay okay…sure” Y/N smiles leaning against the wall still seated on the unmade mattress resting her hands on her barely showing belly. “I hope we’re safe here…” she whispers to herself.
“Y/N!!!” Ezekiel cheers happily approaching his friend that he’s missed and couldn’t help but hug her. “I won’t be too tight! I heard the good news, how far along??”
“Uhm. I think I’m reaching 4 months? I just got an appointment here…” Y/N laughs nervously as the words that escaped her made her anxious. This Commonwealth had a lot. A hospital for Christ’s sake! She couldn’t tell if she was more afraid of something being wrong or the doctors being monsters. Or both.
“You sound unsure…is Daryl coming with you to your appointment?”
“He’s in the training camp with Rosita to see who works well with who. Mercer told him he couldn’t go…”
“Then that’s settled! I’ll go with you!” Ezekiel smiles warmly. “I understand how strange this place is and I’ve been to their hospital a few times for my own thing, so I know the lay out and a few of the doctors. I’ll protect you for Daryl”
Y/N couldn’t help the hormones making her emotional enough to start sobbing. Ezekiel didn’t even react negatively to such, all he did was smile and bring her into his embrace.
This was weird. Really. Weird. Y/N hasn’t sat in a hospital waiting room since well. Y/N was in a hospital when the world ended, in a similar sense like Rick but not entirely. She kept her hands protectively on her belly watching everyone walk by. Security. Hospital personnel. Happy people. God…is it bad to have all this fear coursing through you when everyone around you is in good spirits?
“Ms. Dixon?”
Ezekiel was first to stand as Y/N stayed in her seat for a second longer before following his action by standing and soon following the nurse.
“Is this the father?” The OB smiles closing the door once Ezekiel had entered.
“No he’s uhm in security so he couldn’t get time off…” This talk felt strange…very old world.
“Well, I can always put in the good word for future appointments.” She smiles jotting that information down on Y/N’s chart. “But it’s also always nice to have close friends with you as well”
“I 100% agree” Ezekiel smiles letting Y/N get situated on the exam table and keeping an eye on her body language in case he needed to stop everything.
But before the OB could even get the gel on, Y/N took a hold of her wrist out instinct. Realizing what she did and let go immediately. The OB stopped what she was doing and carefully took Y/N’s hand into both of hers.
“My name is Erin Mathews, I was an OB resident in the old world and I’ve done my fair share of surviving before the Commonwealth found me.” Erin reassures Y/N’s anxieties slightly with the softness she radiated. “I’m not like the others in this community. Whatever you want, I’ll do. You’ll receive all the care needed, with the privacy you want. I won’t let anything happen to you or your baby. You’re safe”
Ezekiel was sold, he really liked this girl and Y/N relaxed just enough for Erin to finally get started. Erin not only made a note to get her husband to have the time off for these future appointments but also in case of emergency to have Ezekiel’s name jotted down.
The sound of the baby’s heartbeat pulled Y/N out of every negative thought she stirred up when Erin first put the ultrasound wand on. Her attention hasn’t left the screen once Erin pushed it over for them to see.
“Daryl is going to lose it when he sees this for himself” Ezekiel smiles holding the picture of the ultrasound as the two walk back to the living quarters. “Hell! Another piece to the future coming in five months!” He happily handed the picture back seeing his friend start to tear up again. “Oh Y/N…”
“It’s just…u-unbelievable. I-I can safely have this baby.” She continued to sob happily bringing herself into Ezekiel’s embrace. “Daryl doesn’t have to worry about anything going w-wrong and having n-n-nothing to do about it”
“You’re safe here, Y/N. And we all know Daryl Dixon will make sure of it”
And boy does he.
Daryl came back after a long and rather annoying day to hearing humming from the other part of the apartment. He quietly approaches the small kitchenette watching his partner work away at making dinner with what she could get. Mainly groceries Ezekiel gave her given their small family just arrive and haven’t had money come in yet.
“You seem happy”
Y/N flinches slightly causing Dog who was trailing her to start sniffing her in case of anything. Once she relaxed, she gave Daryl a small smile before continuing to cook.
“I am”
“Uh. How was the…doctor’s appointment?” Daryl asks on his way over to Y/N’s side bringing his arm around her as she went into her back pocket to take out the small pictures.
It didn’t take long for Daryl to get a hold of the picture himself as Y/N noticed the man started to stare at it. He wouldn’t move or look away.
“They’re healthy. The doctor was really nice too…she said she might be able to get you—-“ Y/N was cut off by Daryl suddenly hugging her, tightly but of course not too tight. She brought her arms around him hearing the soft sniffles that escaped him. “Oh Daryl…”
“Baby’s healthy, you’re healthy…y’all are gonna be okay” Daryl sobs holding onto his woman as his anxiety was toward what happened years back. A part of him will always be haunted by what happened to Lori, especially when his partner is pregnant. But now he doesn’t have to fear in its entirety of what could happen.
He can relax a little…
“I have arrived, and with good company” Carol smiles letting herself in with Rosita following shortly behind as Coco was with Eugene for the evening.
“It’s been a minute since it was just us. Have you heard anything from Maggie about Alexandria?”
“They are doing good with rebuilding. The commonwealth is actually helping instead of what we feared when we first arrived here” Rosita sets down dinner she had picked up from one of the services for free prepared meals as she made sure to grab something Y/N will enjoy. “Soooo…do you guys know what you’re having?”
“Oh please tell me you’re not keeping it a secret! I keep trying to ask Daryl when I see him but the man keeps brushing me off” Carol scoffs slightly as she watches Y/N slowly take a seat on the couch.
“Daryl doesn’t know”
The two quickly share a glance before bringing themselves closer hoping Y/N would budge but she looked as if she wanted Daryl to know first. But fucking hell she can’t keep it to herself for long.
“It’s a girl but you can’t tell D until I do!” She almost shouts out as Carol immediately hugs her friend while Rosita screams from excitement herself.
“Oh you better tell Daryl soon! We have a bet going on!”
“Rosita!”
“They ain’t the only better floating. But wait before you tell Ezekiel. He won and I have to make a dozen cookies for pay up” Carol laughs with the two.
As girls night comes to a close and Y/N found herself laying in bed staring up at the ceiling. She was both missing Daryl and the kids, but also missing those from the past. Most nights since being in the Commonwealth lead her to reminisce and feel slightly bad because those she lost deserved the luxury of this place…it was a lot to think about all in one night.
Lost in her own thoughts she didn’t hear the door open which meant Daryl’s return. The kids were with Ezekiel for the evening because of girls night and he’d bring them back after school the next day. A whole other phenomenon to think about.
Daryl came into the bedroom about to rip off his armor but couldn’t help himself when spotting Y/N and bringing himself over to her. Kissing her belly gently, drawing her from her thoughts as she smiles warmly toward him.
“Is it already that late?”
“That I’m home? Mhm” Daryl sat on the edge of the bed watching Y/N slowly bring herself to sit up as her center made it difficult to do so. “How was…girls night?”
“Good. There’s leftovers if you’re hungry.” Y/N smiles watching Daryl rest his hand on her belly gently, he started to do this more in hopes he’d feel the little one given he missed all the other times she had called him to feel. “You know…I know what we’re having” and that instantly made the archer lock eyes with her in a bit of excitement.
“Yea gonna make me guess or gonna tell me?”
“Hm. I kinda wanna make you guess. But I’m also an impatient person”
“Ain’t that the truth” Daryl laughs slightly as he suddenly felt it. The smallest kick against his hand as he was now fixated on the small movement. He brought himself to completely turn toward his partner bringing both hands onto her belly. “It’s always these moments that I finally get to experience these great things”
“Mm. You’ll be around more when she arrives, you’ll make sure of it”
“Fuck yeah I will—-HEY!” Daryl exclaims looking up at Y/N seeing her smile even wider. “A girl?! Ha! I lost a bet and won one”
“Why are you betting on the gender of our baby?”
“Cuz…it’s a 50/50 chance” Daryl brought himself low enough to kiss her belly once more before finally getting up and getting out of his armor. “Better get comfy, I ain’t letting yea go tonight”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way”
The closer she got to a presumed due date the more anxious and nesty she became. But the other thought on her mind was what home was. Y/N wasn’t working once she got to eight months, because she was given leave and Ezekiel would force her out of the farming area every chance she wanted to get away from being confined to the apartment.
“Yknow how you started to nest when you were carrying Coco?”
“Why are we talking about this when I’ve talked about it with Y/N?” Rosita smiles followed with a short lived laugh as the two were at their stations for that shift. “Is something wrong?”
“I don’t entirely know. The scary ass books Carol made me read are like. They start getting the home ready for a baby and start to nest. But Y/N has everything in a closet. Hasn’t really arranged anything or asked me to do anythin’”
“You think she wants to stay here?”
“What do yea mean?”
“Alexandria is back on its feet and from the reports done by Maggie? Commonwealth is starting to remove themselves from the place since they can hold their own again. You think Y/N would…want to go home?”
Returning back to the apartment Daryl hasn’t stopped thinking about such. This place was perfect, but he doesn’t want to force his partner to stay here and granted he’s always had mixed feelings about his job. The old world within this new one always felt weird and they were allowed to leave whenever as long as someone was notified. The one thing he really wants though is the hospital…in case anything happened. He couldn’t lose any of them.
He was greeted by Dog when he first opened the door before being hugged by Judith immediately. That was another thing, this place is confirmed safe. Safe for them.
But he didn’t want to force anything…
“You’ve seen—-“
“She’s laying down. Told me to tell you when you got back”
“Where’s RJ?”
“In our room. Is Aunt Carol coming over for dinner again?”
“Yeah, she’ll be here in a bit. How about you and your brother get ready while I check on Y/N?”
“Okie dokie” Judith smiles up at her uncle before pulling away to go do such as Daryl makes his way to their bedroom.
Daryl quietly opens the door finding Y/N fast asleep holding her belly protectively as he enters the room trying his best to remain quiet. He gently shuts the door behind him and went ahead with removing his boots before climbing into the bed with her. The smallest movement stirring her slightly as she tiredly looks at Daryl.
“Hey…”
“Hey yourself” He whispers laying beside her facing toward her. “You feelin’ alright?”
“Mhm. Back hurts” Y/N rubs a bit of the sleep from her eyes but she wasn’t in any mood to get up. “When’s Carol coming…?”
“Soon. She’s bringing dinner. I don’t gotta burn shit again” He laughs quietly watching her tiredly smile in response. “Y/N?”
“Mm?”
“Do you wanna go back to Alexandria?”
That’s when she fully opened her eyes looking at Daryl with a bit of a confused look on why he’d ask such.
“I…I’m not sure”
“We can. If you don’t like it here, we can always go back”
“But…Uh.” Y/N couldn’t find the words, she wanted to blame pregnancy brain but it was more so…if he likes it here, thinks we’ll be safe here…she doesn’t want to ruin it for him.
“Y/N. You know all I want from yea is to be safe right? Wherever we are. I need yea, the peanut, the kids…just safe.”
“D…I want the baby here, because they can…handle whatever may happen” okay… “But I don’t feel at home here”
“I get that. I get that entirely”
“You’re…not mad?”
“Why would I be? This was a fresh start, yeah. But it felt weird…not being in a place we built and protected together. Yeah we needed the commonwealth to help us back on our feet. But I was never gonna force you to stay here if you aren’t happy”
“I just…I miss our home. The one we built back up after the Saviors War. The one we let so many people stay in when they needed a place to stay. I want to raise our little girl there”
Daryl couldn’t help his small smile when hearing her say such. He brought himself closer to her wrapping his arm around her as she tried to get as close as humanely possible even with the bump in the way. He presses his lips against her forehead hearing her hum happily.
“Once you and the peanut are well enough…We’ll go home” He smiles as he whispers to her knowing very well she was becoming less anxious when he spoke. “You, me, Jude, RJ, Dog and the peanut. Will be home soon before you know it”
The gates to Alexandria quietly opened as Judith and RJ instantly ran through, immediately being engulfed in Maggie’s embrace and then her son Hershel’s. Aaron even brought himself and Gracie over to reunite with the few. Dog instantly followed after the kids keeping up with them and making sure they were safe like always.
Then Daryl came next, with Carol who wanted to be with her family always. She took care of bringing their stuff back within the familiar walls of their home. He waited patiently for Y/N to join him at his side feeling his arm find purchase around her waist as she carefully moves the blanket out of the way of their little girl that was fast asleep in her mother’s embrace.
“Welcome home, Robin”

"Yeah he's paying for it right now as we speak" Sapnap points
"He what-"
We stand there awhile waiting for it to finish charging, she leans on Sapnap for most of it wanting to be in his company, it took him a little to realise that and finally put his arm around her hugging her closer to his body
"Jimmy next time you get a car can you make it much bigger," Karl tells the camera, just as Nolan gets out hitting his head on the door
"Ow" Y/n turns away to stop herself from laughing aloud, Sapnap noticed starting to laugh a little at her poor effort of hiding it.
"Eww, the couple is being weirdly cute right now" Quackity ruins the sweet moment.
Soon enough we're back on the road again "Karl what happens if we crash the car?" Sapnap questions
"Just get him a new one, right?" Karl answers, and then Sapnap turns to the back
"Punz when's the next among us video coming out?" He asks the blonde in the back.
"Ummmm"
Y/n the entire time Quackity was showing his snacks, stared him down because he wasn't sharing with her.
"And he's not sharing" Y/n pouts, Quackity laughs
"Sharing is caring, Quackity" Y/n continues
"Stop being Aussie Y/n" Quackity replies, Y/n lets out an offended gasp
"Yeah, nah mate" Y/n responds, overexaggerating her accent, and the entirety of the car laugh.
Soon enough, later on, Mr Beast called Sapnap. Y/n and Quackity were trying to hold in their laughter at Sapnap trying to look scared and fearful, hoping the camera doesn't pan on them.
"How's it going" Jimmy starts.
"It's going good, what're you up to?" Sapnap says, trying to act natural.
"I can see a camera pointed at the phone," Jimmy tells him
"What? Oh, that's weird" Sapnap tries and fails to stay natural.
"I assume that means your pranking me" Jimmy guesses
"I mean... kind of I don't know if you call it a prank. I think it's more of like thievery" Sapnap tells him, Jimmy sighs
"Is that my Tesla?" Jimmy breathes out
"It- it's you, Tesla, Jimmy" Sapnap reveals, everyone in the car laughs
"Wait, FOOLISH" Jimmy exclaims through the phone
"WHAT" He exclaims back
"Bro.. we were bonding together"
" WE WERE"
"You're trying to steal my car?" Jimmy continues
"But.. like this is friendship, letting each other like steal cars" Foolish tries to explain
" I would expect this from Karl and Y/n but Foolish" Jimmy says
"I'm glad you expected it, Jimmy, cause I am here," Y/n tells him
"I'm not exactly surprised, your my sister," Jimmy says, Y/n smiles.
"LOVE YOU JIMMY" Y/n shouts, which causes Jimmy to sigh even louder.
"How about this uh sapnap I'll give you 4 days to return or I'm calling the cops bye," Jimmy says, then hangs up. They all laugh.
"This is a great first impression on your future brother-in-law Sapnap" Punz points out.
"He's joking right?" Sapnap questions
"Sure he is Sapnap" Y/n says unconvincingly. We've been on the road for about 5 hours now.
We stop again to charge the car "So we're charging the car and we're walking around the mall and found the coolest arcade like I've ever seen" Sapnap tells the camera, Y/n is jumping for joy at the cool-looking arcade.
Y/n kept her distance from the boys as they were being absolute idiots, she didn't feel like getting kicked out of the arcade. Later she saw her boyfriend and friends getting kicked out.
"God damn it, I can't take these boys anywhere" Y/n mumbled to herself.
7 hours on the road now, and it's really pouring down
"I'm gonna crash," Karl says
"Please don't" cue lots of screaming, along the way Nolan fell asleep and Foolish but poor Foolish was disturbed. Then we stop on the side of the road, Karl needing to pee. Quackity seeing him gone, climbs into the drivers seat
"Quackity get your ass out of my face" Y/n says, pushing it forwards out of her way, then he starts driving off without Karl.
"Quackity you left Karl" Sapnap exclaims
"SAPNAP, I'm right here and why are you calling Y/n Quackity?" Karl asks him, Sapnap turns the camera to the driver's seat seeing Y/n there instead and Quackity in the seat Y/n was in. Y/n drove for a little bit, Sapnap laying his hand on her thigh.
They made it to Charlestown, stopping to eat. "We made it to Charlestown which is basically the halfway point between North Carolina and Orlando. And basically, Karl grew up here and he is taking us to his favourite restaurant in the area. I'm excited Karl says it's really good" Sapnap pauses then Karl drops the key
"Oop that's the key"
After eating, at the really nice restaurant, the food was 10/10. Turns out we won't reach Orlando until 6:27am tomorrow and Quackity is pissed.
10 hours on the road now, Quackity bought pastries Y/n felt like she was about to fall asleep. The boys are slowly going insane
12 hours on the road, the Florida sign appear
"Crank it Karl" Roadtrip plays loudly, Y/n regrets all choices that led to this moment
After 14 hours on the road, Y/n and Quackity fell asleep. Quackity on Y/n's shoulder and Y/n resting her head on his.
"They look so peaceful in there" Foolish comments
"Blackmail for later, the ongoing feud with them will be ruined" Sapnap laughs, he finds the entire thing funny. The feud his girlfriend and best friend have is insanely funny than their falling asleep on each other makes it even more funny.
15 hours and Quackity and Y/n are still asleep on each other
"The city that never sleeps," Karl says
"The person that does sleep is Quackity and Y/n" Sapnap replies
They finally made it, they were out of the car now standing around it, well except Y/n who was piggybacking on Sapnap, glaring at Quackity.
"After 15 hours me and the boys finally made it to Orlando and we completed our mission of stealing Jimmy's car," Sapnap says to the camera
"Karl, he's not going to actually call the cops is he or anything?" The video ends there.

21 - Deep in my Heart, There’s a Trembling Question
art credit: @lazylittledragon on tumblr / lazyjunebug on twitter
cw: bullying, name calling, misgendering/incorrect use of pronouns
Year: 1995
“Papa, daddy, can I help you garden?” Bobby asked.
“Of course, sweetie, why don’t you help me pick some weeds,” Eddie said.
He explained to her what the weeds looked like and how to properly pull them up from the ground. He sent her over to the edge of the fence to pick up some where there were no flowers, so she wouldn’t accidentally pull up any of Steve’s perennials.
Steve went back to watering the lawn as Eddie laid some mulch near the deck. Bobby was singing and humming to herself as she pulled up the weeds and its surrounding grass. As she worked her way down the fence, the neighbor’s kids, and their friends, stormed into the backyard. Bobby politely waved hello before returning to the yard work.
As she continued plucking up blades of grass, she heard the kids taunting her. She pouted and tried ignoring them the best she could, but their torments only got louder and louder as they approached the fence.
“What’re you doing?” The neighbor boy asked.
“Gardening,” Bobby smiled.
“No, you’re just pulling grass.”
“No, my daddy and papa said I’m pulling weeds.”
“Dad and papa? You mean dad and mama?”
“No… daddy and papa…” She pointed to her fathers by the deck.
“Where’s your mom?”
“Mom? I don’t have a mom.”
“Everyone has a mom.”
“I don’t…”
“Freak!” One laughed.
“I’m not a freak,” she teared up.
“Cry baby!” Another taunted.
“Go cry to your mommy, weirdo!”
“I don’t have a mommy,” Bobby sniffed. “I have a daddy and a papa…”
“So you have two homos as parents,” one laughed. “Go cry to your homos.”
Not knowing what the boy’s words meant, Bobby wiped her runny nose on her mustard yellow sweater, and ran over to Eddie. She tapped him on the shoulder to pull his attention away from the flower beds.
“Hey, bug, what’s up? You all done with the weeds?”
“Papa,” she sniffed.
“Oh, my goodness, you’re crying.” He brushed the excess dirt off his hands before pulling Bobby into a tight hug. “What’s wrong? What happened? You bump your knee again?”
“No…” She wiped a tear off her cheek as Eddie pinched her nose go collect all the excess snot (wiping it into the lawn).
“Then what happened?” He looked at his sad daughter, pushing her hair behind her ears as she cried.
“Mrs. Smith’s son–”
“Eric?”
“Mhmm, Eric was calling me names and told me to go cry to my mommy, but I told him I didn’t have a mommy, then he called you and daddy something, and he said I wasn’t doing the weeds right, and–” She ran on in one breath.
“Whoa, Bobbs, slow down,” Eddie said. “First of all, you don’t need a mommy, okay? You have two loving daddies and that’s what matters, okay? Second, ignore them when they call daddy and I names, okay? It’s not important and it doesn’t hurt us, so it shouldn’t hurt you. They’re just being mean.”
“Yeah, but–”
“Bee–”
“Papa!” she interrupted. “They called you names!”
“Alright, I tried being nice about this. You want revenge? Full blown horror movie style?” She eagerly nodded. “Let’s go. Don’t tell dad.”
The two snuck into the house as Steve continued to work his way throughout the lawn. Eddie dug through their stowed away Halloween decorations for something to scare the neighborhood kids.
“Clean your face off, bug,” Eddie muttered as he grabbed a damp washcloth. He properly cleaned her face before sliding on a Jason Voorhies mask. “Give ‘em hell, kiddo.”
Eddie made his way to the backyard and watched Bobby chase after Eric and his friends. Steve’s attention was finally torn from the yard work when he heard all the children screaming. He saw his little one chasing several boys with a fake machete and a serial killer mask.
“Edward!” Steve yelled as he stormed the deck.
“Yes, Steven?”
“Are you responsible for that?”
“Possibly.”
“Christ,” he sighed.
“I’m not stopping it.”
“I’m not asking you to.”
They two let Bobby run around a bit longer before Mrs. Smith scolded Eddie and Steve for letting their child do such a thing. The two snickered to each other before calling Bobby back over to the yard.
“Are you two really laughing? She traumatized my son!” Mrs. Smith yelled.
“Oh, shut it, your son started it,” Eddie scoffed. “Next time, raise your son to not call our daughter names. Alright?”
“Eric, is that true? Were you calling Bobby names?”
“No,” he lied.
“My daughter is a tough girl who doesn’t cry at much. Whatever your son said really upset her,” Eddie said.
“And you called my daddies names!” Bobby added.
“And you called us names,” Eddie reiterated.
“Eric, in the house, now!” Her son cowered before dragging his feet inside. “Sorry for disturbing you all. Just, next time, Bobby, please don’t charge my son with a fake knife, okay?” She nodded in response. “Thank you, dear.”
A couple weeks went by and Eric hadn’t bothered Bobby since—or so the boys had thought. One afternoon, as the two were getting ready to head out and pick her up from school, the home phone rang. Eddie, being in the middle of writing a song, didn’t even hear it, so Steve wandered off to the kitchen to answer it.
“Hello?” Steve answered.
“Hi, may I speak with either Steve or Eddie Harrington?”
“This is Steve, how can I help you?”
“I’m principal Gibbons, I’m calling to inform you of an incident that occurred earlier today.”
“An incident? Is Bobby okay?”
“Yes, Bobby is fine, Mr. Harrington. It’s just…” Principal Gibbons sighed. “Bobby has been displaying some violent behaviors lately.”
“I’m sorry, what? That doesn’t sound like my little girl.” Steve shook his head in disbelief.
“Mr. Harrington–”
“Please, call me Steve—Mr. Harrington is my father, and I’m trying very hard to be nothing like him.”
“Apologies, Steve. Anyways, she got into a fight earlier today.”
“She what‽” he yelled.
“What’s wrong?” Eddie called.
“Bobby just got in a fight at school.”
“Did she win?”
“Ed–”
“Did she win? It’s a simple question, Steve.”
“I’m not asking if she won! Christ, forgive my spouse.” Steve pinched the bridge of his nose. “We’ll be right down.” Steve hung up the phone and threw his jacket on. “Ed, come on.”
“We’re going now?”
“Yes, Edward, we are. Our daughter got into a fight, lord knows if she’s hurt! We need to go, now!”
Steve dragged Eddie to the car and sped off to Bobby’s school. They swung into the parking lot and ran in to meet with the principal. They found Bobby sitting outside the office, glancing at the floor, kicking her feet back and forth.
“Bobbs, what happened?” Steve asked, kneeling to meet her gaze.
“Did you win?” Eddie asked.
“Not the time!” Steve grit his teeth. “Bobby, I thought we raised you better than this. What happened?”
“Eric…” she whimpered. “He called me names again, then called you guys names, and then he said that papa is actually my mommy and I got mad and hit him…” She rushed out in a single breath, as she often did when she was anxious. “I’m sorry, daddy.”
Steve sighed in defeat as he pulled his daughter in for a hug. He gently rubbed her back as he heard Bobby holding in tears, sniffing back her emotions.
“You can cry, Bobbs, it’s okay,” Steve whispered. “Are you okay?”
“Mhmm…”
“He didn’t hit you back or pull your hair or anything, right?”
“No, daddy.”
“So you won!” Eddie threw his arms up in celebration.
“Yeah,” She giggled, wiping her eyes.
“We’ll talk to Mrs. Smith—Eric can’t keep doing this to you.”
“Harringtons,” Principal Gibbons called.
“Come on.”
Steve extended his hand to Bobby as the family walked into the office. Everyone got settled in the office as the principal prepped the paperwork.
“So, Mrs. Smith is threatening to press charges.”
“Whoa, what? No, absolutely not. Eric was the instigator here. Bobby was only standing up for herself and her family.”
“That’s not what Mrs. Smith and her son said.”
“I trust my daughter first and foremost. It wouldn’t be the first time Eric has started something like this, either. The Smith’s are our neighbors and Eric has a history of taunting Bobby. I can’t say I blame her for finally snapping.”
“Okay, Bobby, what did Eric say that started the fight?”
“He called me a ‘freak of nature’, said I have ‘homos for parents’, and that my papa is actually my mommy…”
“Eddie, Steve… we brought this concern up to you two when you were enrolling her.”
“But why should our lives have to impact hers? Yes, I’m a trans man and yeah, we’re two guys that are married, but that shouldn’t affect Bobby’s life. Especially her education. This is supposed to be a place of acceptance and learning, but instead you’re turning it into a place where people can openly bully her and then have her get punished for sticking up for herself. It’s not fair, Gibbons,” Eddie sneered. “People can call my husband and I all the names they want, but the second they bring Bobby into it, there’s gonna be hell to pay.”
“Mrs. Harrington–”
“Don’t fucking call me that.”
“Eddie, please,” Steve urged.
“Stay out of this, Steve. Gibbons, we love our daughter and we value her safety and well being more than anything in the world. Her mental health falls into that, understand? She is a good, sweet kid who doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment. I will be damned if she stays at a school where the staff openly allow her to be bullied, and one where I’m openly misgendered.”
“Eddie, it was an honest mistake,” Gibbons backtracked.
“Save it, alright? Let’s go.”
Eddie swung Bobby’s backpack over his shoulder and led her out of the room. By the time he was out the front door, Steve stood up and leaned over Principal Gibbon’s desk.
“With all due respect, Miranda, you don’t get to treat my family like this. Understand? Bobby is the sweetest child I have ever met—Eddie and I work hard to be sure of it. She would never hurt someone else without good reason. Hell, this is the first time she’s ever hurt anyone at all. She’s just a little girl who loves her family, especially her papa. She would follow him to the ends of the earth, and I couldn’t be more proud. I love my family and I’m proud of who we all are. How dare you think you can treat us like this.” Steve straightened himself out before heading to the door. “Bobby will be withdrawn as soon as we find a replacement school. One that accepts us, Gibbons. And if you even think about disciplining my daughter and not Carol’s hellion, then you’re going to have a much bigger problem on your hands. Understood?” She nodded and gulped back any response. “Good.”
Steve slammed the door and joined his family at their car. He ran his hand up and down Eddie’s back as he buckled Bobby into her car seat. He leaned over, resting his head on Eddie’s shoulder.
“We’re proud of you, bug,” he smiled.
“Yeah, really proud,” Eddie added. “What you did was super brave. I know I couldn’t’ve done what you did. Hell, I couldn’t even tell people I was a man until I was nineteen.”
“Wait, what?” Bobby asked.
“What’s up?” Eddie straightened out her jacket and rested against the door.
“You had to tell people you were a man? Do I have to tell people I’m a girl?”
“What do you mean, honey?”
“Do we have to tell people what we are?”
“Oh… I think I know what she’s getting at,” Steve said. “Bug… okay, I’ll… we’ll… let’s talk when we get home.”
Steve rushed the family home and ushered Bobby into the living room, where he sat her between himself and Eddie.
“So, bug,” Steve started. “Papa is your papa, but, at one point in his life, he wasn’t.”
“What do you mean?” she asked.
“Bobby, I wasn’t always a papa,” Eddie said. He looked to Steve and took a deep sigh. “I used to, technically, be a mommy.”
“How? You’re a boy.”
“You’re right, I am, but I was born a girl, and legally, I still technically am—it’s how daddy and I were able to get married. My name wasn’t always Eddie, sweetheart. I was born as Eden… not Eddie.”
“So, does that mean I’ll become a boy too?”
“Not necessarily,” Eddie chuckled. “I was always a boy, but I was stuck in a girl’s body. Now, through the help of some very nice doctors, and daddy’s support, I’m a boy in a boy’s body.”
“Oh… okay.”
“I’m still papa, and I always will be, but the whole reason you got here was because I was born as a mommy. Do you understand?”
“Yeah, papa, I do.”
“Okay… just know, there’s nothing wrong with who I am, and there’s nothing wrong with daddy and I loving each other. We’re all born as who we are and we can’t change that.”
“And at the end of the day,” Steve added, “we will always love each other, and we’ll always love you. Okay? We’re a little different than most families, but we’re happy and love one another… and that’s all that matters.”

“I can’t believe you’re getting married.” Yn sighed with her arms crossed, admiring Pedro as he adjusts his tie with a bright smile. “I always thought we would have to use our pact.” Yn half jokes. Pedro turns aroud with knitted eyebrows.
“What pact?” He questions and Yn’s heart breaks a little.
“The pack we made when we were 16, if we didn’t getting married by 50 we’d marry each other.” She reminds him and he snaps, nodding.
“I totally forgot about that. Well we probably wouldn’t have worked out anyway.” Pedro chuckles and sits to re-tie his shoes, Yn fidgeting with her bridesmaid dress nervously.
“How would we know if we never tried?”
She tried to be quiet but saw Pedro stop tying his shoes in her peripheral as she looks at her hands.
“Dove..” Pedro sighs and she sits next to him, holding his arm and looking at him through tears while he rubbed his eyebrows with his eye closed.
“Pedro, I fell in love with you years ago, and when I went to tell you you told me about Heather, so I didn’t tell you. But now I’m telling you right before you marry her.” Yn realizes what she’s doing.
“Right before I marry her!” Pedro exclaims, standing up quickly and Yn jumps. “Why not telling me in the beginning when it’s easier to end and I loved you back?” Pedro yelled.
Yn inhaled sharply and stared Pedro down, tears falling. “You loved me?” Yn couldn’t raise her voice higher than a soft whisper, and Pedro laughed in her face.
“Yes, Yn, I did. Before I fell in love with my soon-to-be-wife.” Pedro sighed and groaned loudly as he ran his hands down his face, looking at Yn who stood slowly, unable to make eye contact.
“Good luck with your marriage, Pedro. I wish you nothing but the best.” Yn nods and opens the door. Pedro’s eyes soften and widen, quickly heading to the door and trying to get her to stay. Yn didn’t respond to anything he said and quietly took herself away from his grip and racing to her car.
As she quickly drove away Yn couldn’t helped but sob. She couldn’t blame Pedro for how he felt but she was still upset, her heart was tightening with every breath and it was getting harder to breathe.
Yn couldn’t have stayed - she was a bridesmaid. To stand next to the woman the man you love is marrying sounds like an absolute nightmare, so she finds a few hours away where no one could find her. With the alcohol for the after party and her night bag, Yn bought a room for the weekend.
She turns off her phone and turns on the TV to find something random and cracking open the bottle of Tito’s.
Every sip she thought of Pedro and Heather. How they were exchanging vows, their first kiss. Once Yn turned her back on she was going to delete every app of social media she had so she sees nothing from the wedding.
Yn locks the door all the ways she can and grabs her laptop, her vodka and her pajamas as she heads to the bathroom. Yn closes the door and starts the bath, getting it hot before taking off her makeup and dress.
She angrily threw the dress in the trash with a sob, taking a drink of her vodka and submerging herself in the hot water, putting music on her computer. Her hand draped over the edge of the bathtub with the vodka bottle loose in her grip, eyes closed and lip syncing to the music before it stops.
She was getting a FaceTime call. From Pedro.
Yn took a big sip and answers, groaning as it burns going down.
“Dove, what the hell?!” Pedro was in a quiet room and Yn took a breath.
“What’s up, how’s the wedding?” Yn slurred terribly. She didn’t realize how drunk she was and Pedro was worried as Yn barely drinks.
“Yn, where are you?” Pedro asking angrily to which Yn shrugged.
“A guy’s house, Jackson. I called him sad and now I’m naked in his tub.” Yn giggles as she lies but Pedro just thinks she’s drunk giggling.
“He didn’t try anything did he?” Pedro’s tone of voice was low and his eyes were dark, and it sobered Yn up a bit.
“What do you care, married boy? You don’t love me anymore. Bye.” Yn hung up and put her laptop on Do Not Disturb so no more calls came through and she could enjoy her back.
She set her alcohol down, dunking herself under the water for a few minutes before coming back up, gasping as she wipes her face and runs her hands over her hair. Yn brings her knees to her chest, resting her cheek on her knee bone, staring at the drain as she thought.
She thought of Pedro, of Heather, of Jackson, of everything she could think of. Eventually the water got cold and Yn sobered up a bit. Yn stood up slowly and wobbled a bit while wrapping the towel around herself. She brushed her teeth and changed into her pajamas before climbing into bed.
Yn finally turns on her phone and sees a few texts from Pedro, friends, and a bunch from Jackson talking about how Pedro showed up looking for her and threatened him. Yn sighed and texted him back, telling him she was very sorry and she’ll take him to dinner to explain; he agreed.
Yn took a few deep breaths before calling Pedro who answers in 3 rings.
“Where the hell are you?!” He scolds.
“You showed up to Jackson’s house? Pedro, I’m sorry if what I said messed with you, but you got married. Stop worrying who or where I am. Worry about you wife.”
“You did mess with me!” Pedro’s throat burns as he tries not to shout too loud for others to hear, his eyes glossy as he swallows. “Why did you do that?” Pedro asks as his lip softly trembles and Yn sighs, running her tongue over her bottom lip as she looks at the ceiling while tears well.
“I.. I don’t know, Pedro. It was selfish. I’m sorry. You’re a good man, a married man now. Please.. worry about your wife.” Yn’s voice broke.
“It should’ve been you, huh?” Pedro asks, sniffling.
“It’s too late to try.” Yn answers.

“It doesn’t matter Dina, she’s straight.” Ellie said with a shake of her head as she took a hit off the blunt in her hand.
“There is no way that girl is straight! I saw her making out with a girl at that party yesterday.” Ellie’s eyes snap to Dina’s.
“Who?” The raven haired girl shrugs.
“All I know is that it happened. You should just ask her. What’s the worst she can say?” What was the worst you could say? Ellie wasn’t completely sure what she was afraid of. She wasn’t too close to you so if you did reject her, it’d be pretty easy to avoid you. So what was she afraid of?
“Why don’t you ask her, if it’s that easy?”
“Cause I’m not the one with a massive crush on her!” Dina throws her hands in the air.
“Okay, it’s not a massive crush! It’s just like.. there.”
“Ellie.” The brunette girl meets her best friend’s eyes and groans.
“Fine, is she going to be at the party at Jesse’s?” Dina shrugs, taking the blunt out of Ellie’s hand.
“Probably, her and Jesse are pretty close.”
The party was crowded, but what did you expect from Jesse? The man knew everyone. You found a drink and then propped yourself up against a wall, watching everyone pass you or talk to each other. You hoped that maybe someone, anyone, would notice you and approach you.
Ellie and Dina came to the party late after Ellie’s car broke down on the way. Dina was immediately corralled away by Jesse, and Ellie was soon by herself in the full room. She wandered for a while, keeping an eye out for you.
You had been there almost an hour now, and the only person you had talked to was some guy named Jack. Said guy named Jack wouldn’t leave you alone and you were now wishing you hadn’t even showed. You hadn’t even seen Ellie and she was the only reason you came anyways.
“And so afterwards we went to this super nice restaurant it was like, off the chain, dude!” You mindlessly nod and take a sip of your drink. “Maybe I could take you there sometime! It's really cool and underground. You’d like it.”
“I’m sure.” You give him a slight smile. “I’m gonna go get another drink.”
“Oh, I’ll come with you!” You internally groan.
“Great.” You start walking to the kitchen, Jack following as quickly as he could. When you finally made it, you noticed something. Ellie Williams was leaning against the counter holding a red solo cup and checking her phone. You gulp and walk past her, deciding it’d be weird to say anything.
“Oh, hey, Y/N!” Your heart stops. Ellie Williams just said hey to you and neither Jesse nor Dina were around to make her. You swiftly turn around with a big smile.
“Hey, Ellie! I didn’t see you!” She gives you a hug which you reciprocate immediately. “How’ve you been?”
“I’ve been goo—“
“Sorry, got blocked out by some guy!” You squeeze your eyes shut in annoyance before turning to face Jack.
“Hey, why don’t you go back out there, I’m gonna talk to Ellie for a bit.” You say with a smile.
“Oh it’s chill.” He extends his hand out to the brunette girl besides you. “I’m Jack.”
“She told you to leave, go.” Ellie nods to the door. Jack glances between you two.
“Fine, you’re not even that hot anyways.” He scoffs, turning around and leaving.
“God, thank you, he’s been chatting me up for the past forty-five minutes and I think my head was about to explode.” Ellie laughs and you smile.
“No problem… like I was saying, I’ve been good. What about you?” She hops up onto the counter. You shrug, walking over to the bowl of ‘punch’.
“I’ve been fine, school is beating my ass.” You pour yourself some. Ellie breathes a laugh and nods.
“Yeah, I get that.” She pauses for a moment. “Hey uh.. you’re straight, right?” You snort and turn around with an eyebrow raised.
“What gave you that idea?” Ellie’s cheeks turn bright red and she scratches the back of her neck.
“I.. uh..”
“It’s okay, chill! I’m bisexual.” You smile into your cup. “Why do you ask?” She averts her eyes from yours and for a moment the room is filled with an awkward silence.
“Uh.. well.. I was actually wondering if you wanted to go out with me sometime?” You grin.
“I’d love to, Ellie. Just tell me when and where and I’ll be there.” Ellie smiles and sits up straight. “Let me get your number, hold on.” You fish through your purse until your hands finally land on your phone. You open it and start creating a new contact titled “Ellie 💕” before handing it to the brunette.
