ALRIGHT!I JUST WATCHED THE MIRACULOUS MOVIE AND I HAVE THOUGHTS! There will be spoilers ahead, so tread carefully
A list, in no particular order, just how they pop up in my head:
The animation was STUNNING! Just, props to the animators, I enjoyed the movie visually SO MUCH! From the use of colours and lighting, to the way they used all of that to upgrade the characters: it was absolute perfection. (though some of those close up shots of Hawkmoth were A Lot. But that was probably the point)
The absolute chaotic energy that both Tikki and Plagg (but mostly Tikki, cuz unfortunately. there wasn't a whole lot of Plagg, which I understand due to time, even if it is sad) is FANTASTIC! I adore Chaotic Tikki so much. She has my whole heart! That little scene of Tikki pushing Marinette's hand to Adrien's? Lovely. Tikki explaining absolutely nothing to Marinette when they first meet? Perfection. Just. Give me more Chaotic Tikki, please!
The soundtrack? WONDERFUL! I kinda knew it was a musical, I think, but I completely forgot, so when Marinette sang those first few notes, I had to catch up a lil, but DAMN I was excited! (sad we didn't get Ce Mur Qui Nous Separe (I don't know the english name oops), but it was still fun!)
On that note: Adrian having the most Disney Princess I Want song in the movie is just perfect. No other words needed. Best choice they could have made there.
ALSO on that note: Marinette's singing voice? BEAUTIFUL! It fits so well! I just couldn't help but enjoy her songs, if only for that.
BUT I didn't have to, because the music itself, without the lyrics was just so well done!
Slightly less good: The hawkmoth song was missing some flavor, in my opinion. It started out, and I was EXCITED cuz it started so HARD and then it didn'treally deliver, I think. It kind of kept in the same range and didn't really go up, ya know?
I really REALLY liked Marinette and Chloe's relationship. The way Marinette fired shots back at Chloe, and they actually seemed to be becoming more frennemies? Amazing. I wish we would've gotten more of that in the tv show, considering earlier seasons Chloe and her character developpement, but I really enjoyed it here, in the movie
I'm happy we got to see Gabriel and Adrian actually confronting each other. Both Adrian standing up to his dad (although the timing was a little off, more on that later), AND Gabriel finding out his son is Chat Noir and the resulting Crisis. At least there was some emotional pay off there! (looking at you, season 5 finale)
NOW on the timing thing: There just wasn't enough time. I understand that they wanted to do the superhero origin story for people who aren't familiar with the show but do go to see the movie, but I feel like they just didn't have the necessary time to create the emotional tension needed for the end scene to actually hit as hard as it could have. We got to see a hint of Adrian and Gabriel's relationship, and what was shown was great! But if we had gotten a little more of that perspective and tension, it would've felt better to watch Adrian stand up to Gabe and his parenting skills. And consequently, enjoyed more of the end scene with them figuring out each others identities. Genuinely, I was happy we got at least some pay off there, but it felt too easy. (which again, makes sense due to the limited time, but I feel like they should have made choice: either the Big End Fight with Hawkmoth, OR the Origin Story. And since they did kind of set up a possible sequel, I feel like the choice could have been made)
With the feeling of too easy: I had the same feeling of Marinette and her finding confidence in herself and Ladybug AT THE END! The sudden change during the montage, I liked and felt like it made sens, since we then, during the big battle, get Marinette's insecurities over only being confident when she's Ladybug and all that. That is wonderful and so in line with the core of who Marinette is as character, no matter what version of her we get, that I love it very much. I would have enjoyed a liiiiitle more time with the Angst, but it's allright!
MOSTLY CUZ: that scene where she's dragging Cat Noir's unconcious body onto the debris of the Eiffel Tower, and she goes 'Don't. Touch. Him.' through tears and with a broken voice? AMAZING! When I tell you I Went FERAL! My children! absolutely STUNNING
The actual fight of the end battle? Marinette surrounded by flame and a Paris that is falling apart? Ladybug in Hell, essentially? GORGEOUS! Cat Noir running up the Eiffel Tower to fight Hawkmoth? Stunning! The Eiffel Tower slowly collapsing, as Ladybug watches and cannot Do Anything to stop it? HEARTWRENCHING!
Marinette revealing herself to Adrian at the ball? AMAZING SCENE! (although i laughed and had to utter 'Real Subtle, Marinette' when I saw the ladybug wings on the back of the dress, which was, againg, stunning). The way the scene was framed like the rejection scene? WONDERFUL!
The glitter on Chat Noir's mask? I loved it! Such a fun little detail we don't get in the show!
Did not like the Plagg farting scene. Just. No thanks. It's cheap comedy and that runtime could have been spent better, with a better characterisation of PLagg and his relationship with Adrian. But whatever, it's fine.
THE LADYNOIR CONTENT AND BICKERING! JUST FANTASTIC! ladynoir stans got FED this movie, and I am HERE FOR IT!
So yeah, that was an incomplete list of my thoughts on the movie! Overall I really enjoyed it! I really liked this version of the characters and their relationships. They feel a lot more genuine and real in comparison to the tv show, in some ways. I had so much fun watching it, and will probably go a second time, to see how it'll feel like on a rewatch. And just to enjoy the vibes. I do hope we get a sequel, because I am Curious. And would love more Natalie content.

how destiny's child emotion and killugon are post-separation parallels; a very, very long analysis i wrote in 2h
hi! im danaë, an autistic person which sp-in is psychology and hxh, mainly killugon. i spent two hours yesterday writing about this topic instead of sleeping so enjoy it lol
WARNING!! if you didn't notice THEY'RE LOVE INTERESTS. this text isn't killugon-free, im proud of it AND im blocking everyone that cries about them being only besties. respectfully, no. thank you. (also, english isn't my first language. sorry for any eventual spelling mistakes!)
right on the first verse we hear "it's over and done / but the heartache lives on the inside / and who are you clinging to instead of me tonight?". this could apply to both gon and killua.
gon & "and who are you clinging to instead of me tonight?". killua left with alluka, he has someone to care about and protect. he has company. gon isn't the type to be jealous of a little girl (really, people need to wake up about it. he isn't), but he IS the type to be sad about not being cared even if he denies it. he's a kid; every kid likes to feel protected.
but the thing is, killua isn't happy about it neither. even if he loves to protect alluka, it's different. he loves her, of course, but there's the lack of the warmth of being mutually cared because gon ALSO cared about his well-being (and im fighting everyone who says he didn't). im not saying alluka won't care for killua, but she'll care like a little sister does, not how someone that love you romantically does — and that's good because killua would NOT be able to make it if anyone tried to be the tiniest bit of what gon was when they parted ways.
and then comes this: "and where are you now? / now that I need you? / tears on my pillow / wherever you go, go". oh, dude. this is so killugon i feel ashamed of trying to explain to hxh community /hj
they both were constantly hurting from being away, even though this was the best for them at the time. they wanted each other to be near, wanted and needed, but they couldn't. there is this thin and fragile veil of deep sorrow that would make them get so attached to the other that would be more sickening than the sadness of losing their "other piece" for a while. it's more worth crying over memories than losing their mind from being deadly (metaphorically and literally) codependent.
this links to the next phrase: "i'll cry me a river that leads to your ocean". crying alone is more safe than being next to each other. they'll cry over memories, as i said, and they'll cry about distance and they'll cry over everything that could've been different. they'll find the other in their tears, the hugs will come out of the bittersweet sorrow they carry around, but they'll be separated. they can cry rivers that lead to a valley of what it was and what could've been, but it'll be all. the sadness won't make them be together again.
there comes killua part: "you'll never see me fall apart". he needs to be the big brother now. he need to be alluka's point of safety so he can assure their existence, and for this killua needs to be strong as a rock, he needs alluka to look at him and think she can trust him with anything. he's the big brother, isn't he? emotions about a past that doesn't belong to him anymore aren't going to help with surviving. but he does break silently, while he is trying to sleep ("tears on my pillow"), when something looks to much like a typically gon thing, when memories crawl in. he's just a fragile boy needing to use the super strong hero facade again.
the first part of the next verse is "in the words of a broken heart / it's just emotions taking me over / caught up in sorrow, lost in the song / but if you don't come back / come home to me, darling". this is suffering. both of them are heartbroken, left "alone" to face worlds they feel they don't belong to anymore, wanting their partner in crime to make things less insufferable. they remember the other on daily little things — a song, a quote, a smell. but killua never comes to visit and gon isn't able to do it either — there's no home left besides each other's hearts, and they live there rent-free even if it hurts like hell. memories hurt, the past is like glass and salt being poured into an open wound to later be mixed with alcohol, but they aren't able to say goodbye to it because saying goodbye to the pain is like saying goodbye to the last tangible thing they've from each other — ironically, the pain of being separated —, and the last thing they want is to say goodbye again so they hold it close to their hearts like a trophy.
but as if they're bargaining, here comes "don't you know there's nobody left in this world to hold me tight? / and don't you know there's nobody left in this world kiss goodnight?". there's people, but there's nothing of what they need. they need someone that knows how to make them feel safe, loved, safe — nor alluka or mito can do this for neither gon or killua the way they need it to be done. they try to, but they can't because the type of sadness they're carrying is exclusively from a love that never had a true end; they parted ways, but never stopped loving each other even if their trust was a little bit weaker, and carrying a love that is technically in open hurts so much that no one can try to mimic how it was. a tight hug from mito or alluka won't be the same of a silly headpat from killua or a bright smile from gon because isn't about the act but who's doing it.
and then we've the last verse before the music repeats itself, that i truly believe that wraps up everything in killugon's love story: "i'm there at your side / a part of all the things you are / but you got a part of someone else / you gotta go find your shining star".
gon wanted to find ging and be back at whale's island; killua had to protect alluka. they felt so much love, but they had other people in their lives too that needed to be looked over. even if their story is forever intertwined at some point, both of them are mix of a lot of people and have small amounts of them inside themselves. this is what makes it a tiny little bit easier to go through not having each other near: other people. the tiny pieces of every person they've ever met that created their personality and their new horizons are what eventually make them heal from all the suffering and sorrow and finally be able to reunite again, friendship strong and a love so healthy like a daisy that just blossomed.
they're forever in love. the distance and the sadness was necessary for them to see that things can be hard to handle alone, but they're never alone as they have other people that care for them deeply and are willing to see them fully happy — just as in emotion's music video. when they learn to be complete by themselves, they can multiply together and form a relationship that adds up, not that is dangerously subtracting their mental health. they deserve to love each other when they're ready. ♡
end of the analysis. thx for reading this bible i wrote in 2h lol

top 5 retj songs
NOO bestie how could YOU make ME pick
okay this is a tad bit late but
5. Le duel - this is the one that barely made the list f in the chat. It can work, but it can also fall flat, which balances out the great versions to fall here
4. Coupables - As much as I think RetJ generally excels more at big ensemble numbers than solos, this one simply does not make the cut to go any higher. It's great and sad, just not AS great as the higher songs
3. Demain - actually this one could be changed with coupables tbh. But this is the one that gave me goosebumps the first 200 times i listened to it, plus there's just so many opportunities for cool staging (don't get me wrong staging for Coupables is funky but it's a simplicity-is-the-best-policy then whereas for Demain you can do So Much) not to mention this is one of the few songs that actually treats Juliette as an equal main character (essentially I'm miffed Romeo gets songs that aren't about Juliette, but Juliette gets way less songs and when she does get her own song, it usually just revolves around Romeo)
2. C'est pas ma faute - ahh angsty tybalt my beloved. But actually, even aside from character enjoyments and tunes, I find cpmf really interesting because of how it explores the effects Verona's hatred has in a much more interesting (IMO) way from most La haines, with the exception of Hungarian & Ozuki Tooma La haines (okay ozuki tooma is a person not a production i know this But i feel like her tybalt acting choices justify the lyrics) and also from the perspective of a character who has felt its effects in a less "acceptable" way?? idk if that makes sense but I just think it's neat :) also a very interesting exploration of tybalt's character as well as verona
La vengeance - yknow after typing the last one I'm reconsidering having this be first and that be second akjhg. but like i said even during its worst, i feel like retj excels at big group numbers, and this was the first song for which when i watched it in my first watch-though (excluding songs i already knew) i went "oh i LIKE this" because it's just so oogh yknow? it's so atmospheric and really augments (is that a word in English.) the emotion and feeling of the stakes and it's like. well. it's just oogh. plus it's also a really neat example/case study of how verona's endless cycle of violence continues! and the little dialogue bit before for lady c is a really funky wunky look into the capulet family world + dynamics

Why we need to stop complaining
And this is not about how you cannot dislike something or be disappointed. It is totally valid and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Yes, I like their Italian songs way more, they are complex and amazing. They are poetry and actual art. That being said, I think most of you are actually forgetting why they are doing this. This is their JOB. They get PAID for this. And I actually think, they are not making a lot of money at the moment. Yes, they are big but there is way less money to go around in music business now that CD sales are non-existent. They need to actually create something that pleases the big audience and they need to push that more easy stuff out first. So yeah, they need to have singles like Mamma Mia and Supermodel that are easy to listen and more mainstream so they will actually keep their fame and hype up. Sure, you can refer yourself as "original fan" because you listened their italian songs. But fact is, this is their dream and they are doing what they want and what is best for their career. Also they have already confirmed there will be songs in Italian in their album. These songs are just ones making sure wide audience is listening to them. Is it sad that people don't listen music that isn't in english? Sure. But it is what it is now. Also we really don't have any right to demand anything from them. We aren't entitled to anything. So be respectful, if you don't want to be one of those people Damiano writes songs about. Not in a good way. PS. They are still learning in English. It is a learning curve, give it time ffs.

hey, which bts solo album do you expect the most?
Hi! Musically, Suga is my favorite, so I'm looking forward to D3. Agust D and D2 are masterpieces, and Yoongi has so many cool collabs. Lately, I've fallen for RM so I'm also curious about his album. I think I have a better idea of what to expect from Yoongi than Namjoon. But I'm JK biased, so I'm curious for his solo release too. I wanna hear his vocals!
I antecipate Jin, Jimin, and V's albums equally. I expect Jimin's will be a great crowd pleaser, Jin's will be a mix of brighter songs and ballads, and V's will have a lot of chill songs and ballads. I expect to like V and Jin's albums the least, though I like all of V's solos. But maybe I'll like JK's album the least if it's very pop-y. If it's full of songs like Magic Shop, I might not like it, but I love songs like Love is Not Over, Your Eyes Tell, Film Out, etc.
Honestly, all albums have the potential to be great and to have songs that are my style. But if they choose to make a lot Western pop tracks, I might not like it. At least, I'm sure I'll love Jungkook and Jin's vocals in particular. I think my enjoyment of the albums will also depend on what language they choose to sing in...
I'm okay with not loving Jimin, Jin, V, or RM's music. I'm sure I'll like it, but it's okay if I don't vibe with it. However, I love Suga's music almost as much as I love BTS's, and his music is more important to me than BTS's in many ways, so I'll be very sad if I don't love it. It's very unlikely, but lately he's been making more GP-friendly music, so I'm a bit worried. His albums aren't the funnest to listen to, but they're masterpieces because he's a storyteller. If he chooses to release a funner, chiller album, with more singing than rapping, perhaps that will be more enjoyable, but also less meaningful to me. Suga's lyrics mean so much to me; they're so relatable. I'm not the greatest Seesaw or Telepathy enthusiast, or very fond of Eight, and I pretend You doesn't exist, but I loved That That and his other collabs and features...
As for Jungkook, his music taste is eccentric but I usually don't like the songs he recommends, or the English songs he covers, so I'm scared for his album too. I don't want to be disappointed, but I also want him to take over the world with his album, even if it's not to my taste...
So, you see, I really don't know who I'm looking forward to the most... Perhaps RM, because I'm very curious about his current sound, but not scared of it not living up to my expectations.
Thanks for the ask! Can I ask which album you are anticipating the most?

i can't help but feel like coko got the short end of the stick, aside from haru she's the only VIP who doesn't have a 1mil+ song. and haru is already on the road to get 1mil+ on low speed fake lyric - cosmo bousouP, with currently 500k within only a few months. like among her demos none of the producers regularly hit 1mil. like. ok. you got kafu who has 1mil+ all over the place. sekai had isei ni ikou ne - iyowa. rime had sinktank - inabakumori. and then coko who's like... hitting 200k with her demos on average
usually idc about views, but i've been running a playlist for 2020-present 1mil+ vocaloid songs and it just makes me sad how coko isn't there yet. i made a new playlist though for 2022-present instead and changed the other one to be 2020-2023ish. since there's been less activity in the vocaloid scene in 22-23 compared to 20-21, and 22 is more recent than 20, i've also dropped the threshold for views to be 500k for some instances which does bring coko into the list.
if you're curious coko's most viewed song is currently at 700k. "how to return in gloaming" by shitoo
i've also included songs that aren't vocaloid but overlap heavily into the scene with utaites and cover Ps, so artists like yoasobi, suisei, and mafumafu get included, and songs like interet yamero, loveit?, and idol also get included. the reduced view threshold also means more english vocaloPs get included in the top songs list

Oooh, do you have any non-English music recs? I listen to J-rock and K-pop, but I'm trying to diversify. From widely spoken languages like Chinese, Russian, German, Spanish, and French to smaller languages like Romanian, Greek, or Navajo. Give me all you've got, new or old, fun or sad idc. I'd love that *chef's finger kiss* LGBT shit, but it isn't necessary ❤️
Oh, yeah!
To preface, I do not understand how to classify most music genres, so I won't be able to be super specific besides like "dance music" or "sad music" or whatever.
Also, I rarely listen to full albums/discographies, so if I just recommend one song, you'd probably benefit from checking their other stuff!
Also, also, also because I don't really do deep dives a lot of my recs aren't very obscure lmao I'm gonna try to not rec too much J/Kpop on that basis because you've porbably heard it! If you want J/Kpop tell me what you already listen to and I can base it off that. I'll only do a bit more obscure groups not like... Twice.
Dance Music:
Ntozabantu by Lebo Mathosa. Pure dance anthem from South Africa.
赤伶 (DJ名龙 Remix) by 等什么君. Normally I can get English titles for songs but noope. Still, this is more vocal based and remixed to be dancier but I really enjoy it. Got it off a skateboarding tiktok?? 昭华情 is also by them and is just REALLY pretty but isn't dancy.. I'm assuming it's mandarin, sorry if I got that wrong!
Iskaba by Wande Coal is great Nigerian based house music. Primarily in English but not fully! I listen to this song once a week, it's so smooth.
More basic pop and not really dance:
Tourner la Page by Zaho. Kinda sad and piano based but still radio friendly. French!
Soul Lady by Yukika. Not basic pop, but it's city pop. I wouldn't quite call it dance music?? It's city pop. Her latest song is pretty and more vocal city kpop.
Thank U Sooooo Much" by Yubin, an ex member of Wonder Girls. Retro kpop! Has great synth. Maybe belongs under dance music? Again, I do not understand genres.
Yellow by Koh Kamiyama. IDK what genre to call this? Just like... Japanese... alt pop? I don't know genres. There's fake guitar happening. I wouldn't call it JRock tho
Okay I'm giving up on genre separations
4:00 AM by Taeko Onuki. Smooth as hell and from 1978, so hopefully you haven't heard it before.
Found & Lost by Survive said the Prophet. Jrock... from an anime I hate. I also like their songs Red and Mukanjyo
LISTEN TO STROMAE. If you tell me what kind of music you like, I can give more specific recs.
Okay I'm fully skipping Kpop/Jrock/Jpop until I get more specifics becaues I have too much. Like do you know Perfume? Do you know WJSN? Should I rec songs from popular anime? Less popular anime? Like shit from anime I don't even like... but the songs are bops.
Wait Nami no Yukusaki by The Ricecookers is really good okay no more Jrock unless you give me specifics on what you alreayd listen to! OH and Kakusei by Superfly is a must.
Actually I need more specifics in your taste like does Jrock mean you're open to music like Rammstein which is German metal (?), if so, Engel is my fave by them.
run wild by pls&ty is finnish and idk how to explain the genre
OKY I HAVE REALIZED THIS WON'T WORK UNLESS YOU SEND ME SOME SONGS YOU DO LIKE SO IC AN OFFER SIMILAR I LISTEN TO A LOT OF NON ENGLISH MUSIC
Like... I have Phone by Mickey Singh which is Punjabi + English but does the sound even appeal to you? Jrock and Kpop leaves a LOT of room LMAO
Like does Jrock include dogfight by m.o.v.e. or/?? I DONT UNDERSTAND GENRES
I also dont listen to the radio so like... is Mudo Turbo a popular song and it's embarrassing to rec it because everyone already knows it? Lexie Liu got popular after being featured in KDA but Idk if hte average kpop fan has heard of her since she does Cpop? I like her song Shadow but is it helpful to rec it?
ANon give me specifics to work with!
Do you want the Blue Da Dee's guy's Italian album and recs from it? Or stuff more aligned with like... Loona or Naruto theme songs
I have songs with fucking made up languages like what do you want specifically
Also I just realized how much french music i listen to... and yet understand none of despite taking french for six years

On the flip side, what is your favorite things about the fandom (I think mine is how much we’re literally huge nerds about Taylor’s music and freak out over lyrical connections like we’re in English class)?
I think that's definitely one.
I feel it the most at live concerts (what are those again? lol!) when we're all singing these songs that used to make us feel a little bit less alone in our respective bedrooms and tiny feelings about life and love and discovering Taylor was the first step in realizing that maybe you weren't the only one to feel that way. And at live shows you realize ... no, you definitely aren't. And that bonding feeling of being around people who love lyrics and deep sad girl feelings just as much as you warms my tiny little heart. <3

Can I request Yandere Mirio just crying (let's be honest this boy had a rough time) and he reacts to Y/N comforting him? Like Y/N notice Mirio acting quite off in class so she came to check it out. She doesn't say anything, but just hug Mirio. Y/N is patting his back and humming some sort of lullaby song. (They aren't dating, Y/N is just a friend)
I feel kinda bad for how much I like bullying Mirio. Side note: The reader is 18 and in their last year of U.A, just like Mirio.
Summary: You find Mirio crying alone in an empty classroom.
Warnings: crying
Tumblr media
It wasn’t abnormal for people to see you alone, or not at all, during lunch. There were many places around the school someone could go to be alone, one of your favorites was an unused classroom closer to General Studies. It also wasn’t uncommon for someone else to get to the classroom before you, it happened from time to time. Normally the sight would have you turning around and heading to one of your back-up haunts, but this time it wasn’t a stranger sitting at one of the desks chowing down on lunch, or a couple having some fun on the back counter. This time it was Mirio sitting in the corner and he was sobbing. He hadn’t noticed that there was someone else in the room yet so if you turned around now and walked away he would never know.
But you couldn’t, what kind of Hero would you be if you walked away from someone who was hurting. Stepping into the room you gently sat your tray of food on an unused desk and walked towards Mirio. It had been obvious in class that something was upsetting him, at least to you, but you never would have guessed that it could upset him to the point of tears. Kneeling in front of Mirio you realized that it had never crossed your mind that he could frown let alone cry. He jumped when you put a hand on his shoulder, you were about to pull it away and apologize for startling him but before you could he grabbed the front of your uniform and buried his head in it. Slowly you wrapped both arms around him and started to gently rub circles into his back.
The two of you stayed that way for a few minutes before you try to pull away, hoping to coax him into eating some of your lunch. You don’t get very far. As soon as he felt you start to pull away Mirio let go of your uniform and wrapped his arms around your waist, effectively trapping you against him. “Please don’t leave,” he begged desperately. You pulled him closer and ran a hand through his hair. It’s hard to believe this is the same person who was laughing with Nejire not 20 minutes ago, you let out a sigh and run through different methods to calm someone down. ‘I could sing him a lullaby,’ you think offhandedly. Your eyes light up, ‘That’s it!’ Quickly you try to think of a good one. You settle on an English lullaby your mom used to sing whenever you were sad.
Softly you start, “Baby mine, don't you cry.” Slowly he starts to calm down. “Baby mine, dry your eyes. Rest your head close to my heart, never to part. Baby of mine.” Mirio’s tears were coming less frequently now than when you had first started singing but his breathing was still irregular, “Little one, when you play. Don't you mind what they say. Let those eyes sparkle and shine. Never a tear. Baby of mine.” His breathing had evened out completely now and his hold around your waist got looser as the song went on. “From your head to your toes, baby mine. You're so sweet, goodness knows, baby mine. You are so precious to me. Cute as can be. Baby of mine.” Gently you try to push Mirio away again and meeting no resistance you hold him at arm’s length. The sight that greets you is a sleeping Mirio, you can help but smile. It hadn’t been your desired effect but you could live with this. Gently you lay Mirio on his back and unbutton the jacket of your uniform, fold it, and place it under his head. You’ll just have to make him eat later.

when bts first got big in the us people called them shallow pretty boys whose music had no meaning, and that they didn’t even write their own stuff. it was obviously wrong, their music had depth and they wrote/produced a lot of their stuff. but now they somehow turned themselves into that stereotype. singing about random bullshit, no artistic creativity, don’t even produce their title tracks anymore, obsessed with american approval. it’s sad
exactly. i criticise those songs because i RESPECT them. i love their music, i love the messages, i appreciate what they do. i don't think it's too much their fault exactly, we don't know how much their management had a hand in it, especially post step down of bang pd from the top position. but the boys themselves seem to have internalised that discriminatory westernism, they seem to think that a grammy, an award from a rigged show in a random country, means more than any of their other awards, their general fame, their fanbase, or anything else. why does an american award mean the most? why is it worth creating songs that are probably not too enjoyable for them, or at least a lot less enjoyable than the ones they produced, wrote for, had complicated but fun dances for, and put their own feelings into, in order to have some old white men give them a fake gold trophy? my guess is when you're that high up, you have, as they've admitted to before, a crisis of identity, and it becomes hard to know what to do next, hard to form goals, hard to establish your true self worth. so, they're chasing pointless goal after pointless goal, in the hope they can figure out what to do next. but they'll get that grammy and nothing will change, and hopefully then they'll realise that they don't need to be constant representations of their entire country, of their entire race, they don't need to be constantly breaking records and barriers if it means that they're no longer happy with what they do. americans aren't worth more than koreans.
and no, i'm not projecting emotions onto them, they've previously mentioned never wanting to do english songs, the aspect of them producing and writing their own stuff has always meant so much to them, the rappers have barely been able to rap properly, they're constantly flying back and forth from and to the US, which is mentally exhausting, they get asked the same questions over and over again, etc. etc. add on covid meaning not being able to tour, do concerts, fan meets, all the stuff they literally loved most about their career, and you have what i can't imagine being a fun time. the novelty of an extended break a la covid would have worn off long ago, and since last year, they've barely even properly had that break. no one is immune to emotional exhaustion, fatigue, and the unhappiness that comes from not being able to do the things you love AND being made to do stuff you DON'T like.
i bet they all secretly look forward to the two years in military, they'll get to be themselves, by themselves, no special treatment, not thinking about their career, it'll be like a mental break despite the stress that can be in it.

Reviewing Discographys: Tommorrow by Together / TXT !
yes I used their full name, it sounds so fancy. Anyway, hey! I hope your doing good! to preface this, TXT are one of my Ults and i will be VERY biased, But i hope to provide as neutral of a review as possible, and i can completely understand why some of TXT's Songs are not for some people. I will also use a different format for this one, since i can go more indepth and focus per album (plus their discography is much shorter than Seventeens T^T) but yeah, Let's get started :D
edit : sorry this is really really long T^T
The Dream Chapter : Star
This mini is such a cheery mini album overall. To know they debuted with such a cheery song when it was slowly getting more popular to do less songs like this makes me happy, since it suits their styles so well. In only just these songs you not only get them showing their cheery sides in both Blue Orangeade, Crown and Cat & Dog, But you also get this calmer more vocal-showcasing tracks in Our Summer and Nap of a star. Nap of a star is the kind of song that fits a mood that is hard to explain yet its so comforting when you need it.
With this mini, I also need to talk about the Acoustic version of Our Summer and The English Version of Cat & Dog. The Acoustic Verision of Our summer is the first version of any b-side i had heard from TXT and yet it still leaves such a strong impression on me by giving the song what feels like a much calmer and more comforting feeling than it already had. and what else is there to say about the english version of Cat & dog , since i mean MOA will bark for that song-
The Dream Chapter : Magic
To think their first comback was this masterpeice. I love this album probably more than I should. It gathers such an intresting mix of sounds and also clear messages together. Firstly Run Away. The MV, The Stage outfits, The award show performances, even the little harry potter references all fit together ever so perfectly. Its also my personal favourite title track. The sound of this song is the kind of sound i need more of in kpop.
The B-sides, for me, Follow perfectly in sound and in quality for me. New rules sets the tone for the album initially with its sound and style. Roller coaster then follows through with the electronic sound that our diamond maknae Hueningkai produced. This is then followed by Poppin' Star, My personal favourite B-side by them to date. The summery sound this song presents makes me so happy, the song is the kind of song that I would immediately place into a summer playlist. This then gets followed by can we just leave the monster alive, which has a ound that compliments Poppin' Star so well, and acts as a another happy song and summery song that works so well to preface Magic Island. Magic island being the more ballad sounding track, The sound makes it a song that even some people who dislike ballads may like, due to its still electronic sound that isnt too slow, yet it still ahas the elements you would expect of a ballad. 20cm has the slower sound you expect of a ballad and also acts as a calming factor before the level of energy in the songs changes with Angel or Devil. The way in which the sound changes to be this more upbeat but also indicates the idea the song presents of choices.
The Dream Chapter : Eternity
when this came out i was so shocked. Honestly the change of concept took me by suprise but it works so well fo rthem. Starting with Drama, God the MV for this song makes me so so so sad. This story being somthing that presents the idea of feeling like your the main character in the story / Friend group but you aren't is somthing that isnt usually explored in the realm of kpop Lyricism. Now the title can't you see me. This song is so different to the others they released prior and it is such an intreting way for them to have diversified their sound more. Following from this, Fairy of Shampoo seriously contrasts this and shows how well TXT are when it comes to the elegent kind of sound. Yes its a cover, sure, but it has the same kind of TXT flare that makes it their own, and their breathy vocals work so well for it. This song also allows for a perfect transition to Maze in the mirror. This song is mosty produced by Beomgyu, but also is written by the entirety of txt. This song really expresses the desperate way in which Beomgyu must have been feeling, as he has said prior that it reflect how he personaly felt during his struggles as a trainee, which makes this song ever more heart breaking. This song is then followed by Puma, which has an extreamly different sound to Maze in the mirror, but also present the idea of escaping but also the hesitation and fear that comes with that, and it is reflected in the power of the song and the lyrics also. This is then followed by the really confusing song that is Eternally. As a new moa i found this song so confusing. but the unique sound structure is somthing i can admire, as well as the use of this track for the story of the star seekers .*( i might post on this)
Minisode 1: Blue Hour
well say hello to what is, To me , TXT's Dreampop and Disco house era. Ghosting provides this Dreamy yet somehow ironic sound. It sounds so calm and yet the song's lyrics are literally about being ghosted by someone and missing them. This is then followed by the Discopop king that is Blue Hour. The mix of Disco sounds and Yet TXT's own electronic touches from the disco house genre make it the kind of song id happily bop to in the summer in a field. It gives this feeling of "hey ! lets do this!" to me somehow. This is followed by we lost the summer. This song being about how C0vid has affected the youth is somthing that is so important in the lyrics of the song and also the MV. yet it is also somehow slightly upbeat. This is then followed by the brilliant track that is Wishlist. Yes, I tried to avoid overplaying it due to the hype but i love it. its a style i hope TXT can do more of. Way home also perfectly follows wishlist as the kind of song i coud see being played in a cafe and creating this specific sound that works so well with the to round the mini album out. its this slightly dreamy sound that i love so much from them
The Chaos Chapter: Freeze and The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape
this era. I alerady miss it. Badly. Like. The experimental Pop-rock duo of title tracks that are 0X1=Lovesong and LO$ER=LOVER both give a unique concept and an intresting vibe that TXT expreimented with over both eras. Then to start with the B-sides, Firstly Anti-Romantic is Genius. Playing on both eletronic sounds and yet being the balad of the album and going viral on tiktok with 0 influance from hybe or TXT at all is brilliant. Now Magic. Magic is a song i have an odd attachment to due to nostalgia, and the song reflects for my the style of the Producer, Olly Murs. As well as this, It being their first original english track feels fitting for the song, and is such a nice song to vibe to, yet again in the summer. Now Ice cream, well it has a unique style. its calm yet energetic and and intresting too, it feels like a break in the style of the album. What if i was that puma continues the calmer energetic style that feels like it fits in a calmer happy playlist, as well as being a nice call back to puma from the dream chapter eternity. No Rules follows in the style of being a call back to new rules from the dream chapter Magic, and also follows its rebelious nature, also breaking up the flow of the album but in a refrehing way. Moa Diary (Dubadu wari wari) follows No Rules, and, as a fan song, its quite a happy song and it has this sort of endlessly happy feeling that is so nice to hear in a fan song, as well as this, it references their other songs within the choreography. This happiness is then immediately followed by the heavier track that is Dear Sputnik, which was once again produced by Diamond Maknae Hueningkai. Referencing the Sputnik telescope , but also the idea that sputnik also means companion, and the song reflects this also. The song also well showcases their Vocals. If you thought TXT coudn't do a concept darker then PUMA, Look right at Frost. Its a heavier, deeper track that plays well on the member's Low registers, But also works so well to present the somewhat scary souding lyrics, but you never really know how desperate and deep the lyrics are without reading the translations. you will literally be so shocked. The final track is The Emocore remix of OX1=Lovesong, Their is no new lyrics, but just a more emotive and rock sounding intramental that reflects the lyrics.
OSTs, Collaborations and Japanese releases
now onto a quick lightning round of one sentence reveiws for this section because ive written so much already:
Everlasting shine
Bop i love it so much, perfectly highlights some of the power of their vocals
Your light
One hell of a cute OST that also gives me summer vibes
Force
My Favourite Japanese release from TXT and i love how this is structure and Taehyun and Beomgyu's Harmony high note
Love Sight
Traditional kind of Ballad OST, but i love how much it highlights the softness of the members voices
Ito
Such a diferent style of Japanese release from them but i love it and its different kind of, emotive yet calm style
Eyes
I CANNOT SCREAM ABOUT THIS SONG ENOUGH LIKE???? THEIR VOICES SOUND SO GOOD???? AND ITS PERFECT FOR THEM????
Blockbuster by Enhypen Featuring Yeonjun
i am so happy Yeonjun got to go all out with his rap in this track!
PS5 by Salem ilese feat. Taehyun, Yeonjun and Alan Walker
This suits these 2 so well, and now i want Alan walker to work with TXT
well this is all i really have to say, i recomend you listen to TXT's full discography and form your own opinions but i hope this helps in that !
have a good day or good night where you are ^^

Sorry not jikook related but, um... am I the only one who's worried about the next comeback? And not because I think bts won't be able to deliver, far from it, but because I feel like all these major achievements lately have set a lot of expectations within the fandom. Dynamite and Mots:7 are their biggest hits yet and people are talking about wanting to outsell/surpass them. I'm a little afraid of what will happen if we can't make it... we saw a tiny glimpse of this when BE dropped and LGO didn't reach the number of streams army had agreed on. Ultimately, once dynamite era ends, unless they give us another song entirely in english, we'll go back to little to no radio spins and will have to rely on our own power. Dynamite was also kind of boosted by casual listeners who liked the song but didn't necessarily start following BTS.
Maybe I'm being a little dramatic because I'm still a baby army and this will be the first proper comback after BE, which was an album meant for fans and not promotion. I just hope armys aren't letting their guard down because of Dynamite's success. You just have to look at the number of views on Black Swan and On (the so called masterpieces) on youtube to know that when it comes to korean tracks we still have a long way to go.
Army always sets higher goals than the ones before, and the 100mil goal for Dynamite was really something!
I think a lot of armys didn’t stream the LGO MV or give it the usual attention because they thought it would be “just” a GCF type of a video. They didn’t expect it to be a “real” MV - that’s just how I felt about the general army opinion at the time.
The song was a huge hit though - it was the first time any of their Korean songs hit #1 on the Hot100.
Maybe BE felt different because it came at a time when we were all already sick of the pandemic, and it was less of a big, epic piece that MOTS7 was and more of an emotional, intimate album that the members were all involved in. But it was undeniably a huge success. It was #2 on IFPI’s Global Album Sales Chart for 2020, despite being out for just a little over a month in 2020, and having only one (deluxe) edition.
Honestly, I’m not afraid we won’t make our goals, because I imagine we’ll all explode from excitement when the new album is announced. We’ll stop being sad and get ready to start streaming with a vindictive righteousness.

GOT7 Mark pleeease~~~ 🙏🙏. Do you accept songs that aren't kpop? If yes, then I'd like to request a line from Getsunova's Fake Protagonist: " I'm aware that I could never even compare with someone that you have in your heart" It's originally a Thai song but this line is from the english version of the song. It's a pretty sad song so maybe some angsty imagine 😁😁. Hope you read this request. Thank you so much!!!🥰🥰
Mark Tuan x Reader
Genre: Angst
 Word Count: 777
Note: This was a really interesting one. I found I really enjoyed the song. I don’t write a lot of angst but at least I got the genre right lmao Roo can atest to the fact that I will try to make angst and end up with horror. Thank you so much for sending one in!
Song Blurb Game
Fake Protagonist (English Version) - Getsunova
You knew this was a breaking point. You knew it. You just didn’t want to believe it. Some part of you really believed it was easier to ignore all the signs that Mark wasn’t in love with you. You desperately wanted to believe that there was some other reason for the way his smile never reached his eyes when he was with you. You wanted to think there was some other reason he pulled his fingers free from yours as you walked. You hoped with every last fiber of your being that there was something you could do to have him back.
Maybe that was a fallacy too though. Had he ever really been yours? You both knew that you were never the one he had had in mind. You could ignore how quickly he had asked you out after his last relationship had ended. You could excuse the similarities between you and his ex because there were a lot of differences too. He didn’t talk about them all the time. He barely mentioned them unless the topic of past relationships came up. And it seemed like a good thing, that he didn’t have many bad things to say.
But the more he healed, the less he paid you any attention. Maybe there was some fault to find in your own actions. You started to hold on tighter the more he pulled away. Maybe if you had given him more space, been more relaxed about it, maybe he wouldn’t be so distant from you now.
You watched as he made his way out the door, smiling at his phone, no doubt texting them. It wasn’t that he was cheating. He told you when he was heading out a lot of the time. If you casually asked who he was with he was honest. And was never out late or missing dates. So he wasn't cheating, though some twisted part of you almost wished he was.
If he was cheating you could at least be angry. If he was cheating you could be hurt. You could scream and cry and throw pillows and break down and it would all be justified. But Mark was perfectly fine. He was still nice, he was still accountable, he was still honest.
But his heart was no longer there.
Should it have felt more like a cleansing ritual, taking all of you belongings back? The toothbrush and toothpaste and shower items you had left in his bathroom. The spare clothes you had in one of his drawers. One of your water bottles from the number of times you had gone to work from his place or gone over as soon as you were done. You didn’t want to call it cleansing, it felt like tearing bits of yourself out. With every item you picked up and placed in your bag you left a shred of your heart in its place.
It broke every last part of your soul to know that all you were doing was setting him free. He had no good reason to break up with you but his heart was never yours and the longer you pretended it was the more you hurt yourself.
It was dumb not to cry. No one was there to see you, no one would know, but some part of yourself held back. As if not crying would hold you together any better. As if you weren’t falling apart as you sat at his kitchen table where you had shared so many sweet moments writing a goodbye, writing the thing that would give his heart what it wanted too loudly for either of you to ignore any longer.
You stayed longer than you needed to. It wasn’t as if staying and looking around, stalling, as if any of that would give you something you could never have. You fretted over where to leave the letter before placing it on his pillow and grabbing the last of your things.
You thought about romantic movies, where the girl leaves. Where she’s fed up. And where the man comes in with this big romantic gesture to sweep her off her feet. Because he realizes she’s the love of his life and he just didn’t figure that out until he lost her. He needed a push to run after her, to prove it.
You locked the door behind you and left the key under the mat where he told you to find it the first time. There would be no big romantic gesture. He wouldn’t come and sweep you off your feet. He wouldn’t realize you were the love of his life.
Because Mark never truly loved you.

OMIGOSH that's a decent tune!
Is it Spanish? What's the other language? It's interesting.
The dudes aren't half bad.
You see, I'm so English with my 🍵 and whatnot so I didn't really understand at first 😜

They are speaking in Hindi, here is the translation a part of the song which is very catchy
Chahat ke do pal bhi mil paaye
Even if you get two moments of love
Duniya mein yeh bhi kam hai kya
Isn't that too less in this world
Do pal ko toh aao kho jaaye
Let's get lost for these two moments
Bhoole hum hota gham hai kya senorita
Let's forget what sadness is, miss
Suno suno senorita kehte hain hum kya
Listen miss to what I'm saying

#4: Searching for Hope
I am glad to tell that we have finally moved. Earlier residing in Uttar Pradesh, we have moved back to Bihar. Pertaining to the effect of COVID-19, the environment is in a much better condition over here. However, it wasn't easy moving here, and moving didn't solve all of the problems.
First of all, packing. Packing everything was a tedious process. Getting everything into sacks already seemed very tough. Then was mom's OCD, that would make it even tougher. How? Well, things like, she wasn't willing to place the sacks on the floor, because it would make it hard to clean the floor the next day, which she couldn't resist. That's how most of the work got postponed to the last day. Still, it was important to get things done soon, so I decided to go along with the greatest convenience possible.
It would have been more convenient if we had more time. The company where my parents worked had currently imposed a notice period of 6 months i. e. We must stay and work for the company for at least 6 months past resignation. Taking that into account, dad decided to resign in April, someday around their marriage anniversary.
However, it didn't go as well as expected. As May ended, we were told to leave early. Unfairly so, the company decided to violate its own notice period. We were already burdened with financial pressure. Having no other choice, we decided to leave by mid-June.
The lockdown made the process slightly more complicated. I was the most scared of our happening to get into any problems due to it. Thankfully, it didn't turn out to be a big problem, and we made it back to Bihar. The next day, all the luggage arrived too.
I was very happy. Little did I know that my happiness wasn't going to last that long. Within hardly 2 days, my parents had a terrible fight. It was so much worse than the ones I had previously witnessed that I almost felt hopeless. It is hard to express… But painful it was. Especially for me and my mom. Besides all that, it is Bihar, not Uttar Pradesh. Full of snitches. It takes less than half an hour for news to reach from one to the other neighbourhood. Care has to be taken.
Having spent years in a place that is synonymous to prison, my mom has become a person that easily becomes sad and hopeless. She totally discards anything that could make her happy. She says she doesn't want to live anymore, and so many things that she doesn't mean… Things I would never want to hear.
I cried a lot. I can face any problem in life if I have a stable, happy, and loving family having my back. After all, who wouldn't want a happy family? It's just that mine has been through 20 years of misery, and at this point, it is understandably unbearable.
I admit, it will take a lot of time and money for things to improve. We need to have a place for ourselves to live, and my parents are currently working on getting one built. Money would be scarce in the near future, because my parents aren't working at the moment. Some friends asked me to start working part-time to help, which sadly is easier said than done.
I am planning to get a new laptop for myself. The one I have (in the college) is at least 12 years-old, which makes it tough for me to use it to learn most of the contemporary technology, which I would need for my future career. Despite the difficulties, I am trying to keep myself up and learning, because that is the best I can do to help my family in being stable, loving, and happy.
Since I got to use the kitchen after a long time, I used the opportunity to make Shahi Tukda (English: Royal Piece), a really nice and quick sweet. It has a very simple recipe. You just need some sugar, water, rusk, and optionally, some cardamom (elaichi) for seasoning. In fact, here it is:
Prepare a cup of sugar syrup (by mixing water and sugar in 1:3 ratio and heating until mild yellow, viscous, and sticky). Add some cardamom for enhanced flavour.
Pour it in a plate to achieve a height of 1-2 cm.
Place few slices of rusk (dry-heated thick bread will work too) and let them absorb the syrup upto ⅓ (one-third) their width on one side.
Let the same happen to ⅓ of the other side. That would get ⅔ of the rusk soaked in sugar syrup and ⅓ dry in the centre to maintain crispness.
Tumblr media
Ta-da! That's it. 🍰 You got yourself a nice Indian sweet to enjoy. In fact, it is quick and yummy. It hardly takes 2-3 minutes to prepare, and doesn't require a lot of syrup. You are free to try different variations and experiment with the recipe on your own.
I have been learning more of Golang. The most interesting part in it is yet to come, which is concurrency i. e. The ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time. I am also spending time learning Ruby on Rails, which is very famous for rapid prototyping, as I have heard. NodeJS, Flask and PHP are the only other back-end web frameworks that I have previously worked with. It will be great to learn more about database integration into webpages. I am very excited about it. Hopefully, I will soon be able to learn and develop interesting things.
Once I return to college, I am planning to make some new songs. I have already been preparing the lyrics and gathering ideas for quite some time. It will be fun to get creative after a long time. The more we learn, the more we do, the more we grow. Also, once I get a little more calm, I have to continue working on all my pending colourful prompts for Inktober! :(
That's it for now. See you soon with another post! <3
