I've been losing my mind all morning because if this woman is going to do one thing it's write a personal essay for a major mag about her personal life and I love her for it so much.

Sarah I giggle every time you post a thought I had while high that I forgot (the stilettos for miles, words as weapons, and the love-hate The Alchemy were all courtesy of edible consumption). I should probably readjust my life choices hahahahahaha

I second the Chloe abbreviation!
GAS is funny. Lol.
Chloe et al also feels appropriately literary and works citation-y lol.

The way I screamed IS THIS COUNTRY?! when I heard the beginning of But Daddy… it’s a quintessential Taylor song like the Debut songs I fell in love with so many moons ago 🥹 I’d put Clara Bow in this category too. Very Taylor. Also obviously it’s early but it seems underrated at this point?! It’s so good!!!
There's so much dark western twang on this album which I love so much (her voice sounds amazing in this style) and secretly has me hoping that she was partially inspired by the re-recording of certain country songs of her youth.

MH hasn’t been in her thoughts for a decade though. That’s the point. He was nothing. But listening to his love bombing and recasting their story as something a decade in the making is easier than admitting her relationship with her soulmate, her invisible string, her forever love is over and has been over for a long time
Yes but she fully bought into it and believed it and that's what made the entire thing hurt that much more two times over.

I love her FURY on TTPD--she's written about anger before (the man, mad woman, bad blood), but I don't think I've ever *felt* the unmediated rage until TTPD. I love it. My hot take is that I'm unbothered by Taylor pushing back against fans/fame--even resenting them!--bc to me a compelling read of this album is her insisting, forcefully, on the distance between public perception and private reality, which leads to larger questions (and despair) about the challenges of really knowing anyone.
I have to say this but I do, too. I love how uncomfortable this album can make a person feel because of how confronting and blunt and raw it is. There's no polishing up the sharp edges here and that's by design and is also partially necessary. I especially love this when we filter it through the lens of "Clara Bow" and that final verse "You've got edge, she never did".
I think there's so much on this album that centers on how she doesn't know what her North Star of truth is anymore because her bullshit meter was so fucked with. Her ability to parse out truth and lies was tampered with to the extent that she may not even know herself (hence the spiral into insanity).

Hi Sarah!
I have a non-TTPD question for you: have we heard recently what Taylor’s favorite color is? I remember early in her career at one point she said it was white, and then once on Ellen a bit later (SN era?) she said it was purple.
I just realized I didn’t know what it is, and I tried to look it up but there’s so much conflicting info to sort through. I feel like if anyone were to know if she’d said more recently what it is, it’d be you! TIA 💚
Hi! No I don't think she's answered this recently.

I have wondered if he joked she was his heroine, and she herself made a play on words since she had previously been with m**** and his kind didn’t involve an e
This is sort of where I'm coming at with the man mush.

I’m catching up on my TSSQ & giggling at the Sarah Bingo submissions. I def thought the same as some of the other anons’ ideas. It’s fun to see that other people have similar ideas even though we don’t speak to you in person. I heard So High School and thought “I wonder if this is giving Paper Rings to Sarah” 😂 and WAOLOM gives Scorpio energy in the best way. Obviously I don’t know that we’re right, but idk, it just makes this feel even more like a community and I love that. Thank you for providing it to us 💚
This truly made me so weepy and warm and happy.
But also I'm absolutely a true ardent believer that we speak to each other every day and conversations don't have to happen out loud, in person for people to be able to form bonds and truly get to know one another. You guys are so sweet and wonderful. 💚

My brain has suddenly fixated on the intro recording for the first Paris show. What if she changes out "Hi I'm Taylor" for her singing 'Taylor Swift' from Clara Bow? WHAT IF SHE ADDS the lyrics "Tortured poets department"????
Aw wow how fun would that be indeed!

Hey Sarah, I had a moment with The Prophecy today and I just wanted to share my thoughts here.
First off, this song is incredibly poignant. It simultaneously details a very specific experience to Taylor while being so painfully relatable to life in general. I can imagine that Taylor, who has talked openly about struggling with aspects of fame, would think about how her life has turned out and wonder if the thing she worked so hard for, to share her life in song, is actually what is making her so miserable (in her darkest moments - of course she’s not sad all the time).
“and it was written / I got cursed like Eve got bitten” she has become the best at her craft but this thing (fame) is also a curse.
“Change the prophecy / Don’t want money / Just someone who wants my company” I love this idea that maybe the way our lives turn out is destiny. Its been prophesied and we can’t just change it. And the pain in this line of how love keeps leaving her, but in doing so she writes more songs, her fame grows and the money flows in. She doesn’t want or need anymore, but she’s cursed in this cycle of loving, leaving, writing songs, and getting more famous and that making it even harder to find someone true.
“Hand on the throttle / Thought I caught lightning in a bottle” This idea that love is elusive and something that one can’t hold onto. It just strikes and then its gone.
I think this idea of our lives being destined and wishing for a different outcome is a universal feeling especially when we compare what we have with what we thought we would have by a certain age or time. I know i have looked at things I’m grateful for in my life and thought but because I have this I don’t have X and what if it had gone a different way. Ultimately you wouldn’t have chosen a different path but you still wonder what if you had a different destiny and in dark moments you may think things would have been better.
Anyway, i’ve never sent in such a long ask but this song was just really speaking to me today and you always have such beautiful things to say about Taylor’s songs. I’m really loving this album and hope everyone else is having a great album release weekend!
Such beautiful things said friend! I am so glad that this song really touched you this way and so deeply. It's wonderful!

Might be a silly question, but with Taylor (and celebs in general) wearing different shoes all the time, how do they deal with breaking shoes in or are they just always uncomfortable? Seeing her trainer choice at Coachella made me think of this as she'd be on her feet for so long walking, dancing etc, but the shoes look brand new! I hate getting new shoes as they always take a few wears to start feeling really comfortable. Any insider knowledge you could share?!
I really think it must depend on the shoe because there are some shoes that are comfortable for me out the gate.
