Getting Ready For Pride
Shinsou x Kaminari x GN!Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: Happy Pride Month 😩, yet another pocuties collab ✨. Please enjoy this short lil story. This isn't technically a Shinsou x reader in addition to a Kaminari x reader but it could be counted that way if you so choose.
Warnings: swearing
Word Count: 1.1k
Tumblr media
"Hurry up, denki. We're gonna miss literally everything."
You heard his footsteps upstairs, it was clear that Kaminari was rushing to get everything in order. "I gotta make sure I have everything! just like, 5 more minutes, babe, please."
"Denki Kaminari, light of my life, we're already an hour late. Hitoshi is gonna kill you." You insisted as he pressed for more time. You glanced in the mirror, making sure everything was in place. About a month ago, Kaminari's boyfriend, Shinsou Hitoshi invited the two of you to go to a pride parade with him. Obviously, you weren't gonna pass this up.
You wrapped your flag around your shoulders, tying it off like a cape. A crash was heard upstairs followed by a "Found it!" and a few seconds later there were rapid footsteps coming down the stairs. "Okay i'm ready."
you laughed at your mess of a boyfriend and pulled out your phone, taking a picture of his disheveled state, before putting it back in your back pocket. "Do you want help?"
"Yes please."
Kaminari had the bi flag on his shoulders, tied just like a cape to match your cape. You'd managed to get him to sit still enough to draw his flag on his right cheek and it wrinkled when he smiled. You knew that Shinsou would give you both more shit to put on once you got to his apartment so you managed to convince Kaminari not to go all out with his outfit.
You straightened out his clothes and touched up the flag. "Aight, get in the car before he kills us both."
He nodded and kissed your cheek before running off to the car like a little kid going to school. You got in after him and it didn't take the two of you any longer than 10 minutes to reach Shinsou's apartment. The moment you reached the door, he opened it and dragged the two of you inside. "We don't have a lot of time left until we're supposed to leave, hurry up."
"Wait, I thought we were late–" Kaminari wondered out loud.
"Nah, I just told (y/n) two hours later than it was planned to start because I know you take forever to get ready." Shinsou said, walking over to his couch and grabbing a plastic bag. "Both of you, sit."
Deciding not to argue, you sat down on the couch with kaminari laying his head on your lap. You smile, running your fingers through his hair as he closes his eyes in bliss. "I need you to sit up, I can't do your eyeliner like this."
"Don't wanna get up, (y/n)'s lap is prime nap material." Kaminari held his arms up and open. "Come join the pile, 'Toshi."
"Hitoshi, y'know that one picture of the girl sitting on the other girl's lap to do her makeup? You should probably do that, cause I doubt he's getting up for a while." You told him. Shinsou seemed to consider this for a while before shrugging.
"Yeah, that works for me."
Tumblr media
20 minutes later and Shinsou had already finished doing kaminari's makeup. Said blond was currently raiding Shinsou's jewelry. "babe babe babe, can I wear this chain?"
"No, you never return my shit."
"Oh c'monnnn. I'll return it this time I promise." He pouted, only to get a pillow thrown at him. He dodged. "Hey!"
"That's what you said last time and I'm still missing my Nightmare Before Christmas sweater." Shinsou looked at him from the bed, hand sneaking towards another pillow to throw.
"(Y/n), tell him I'll give it back!"
"Nah, that's domestic. That ain't none of my business." You grinned, glancing up at him from your phone before tilting the screen towards Shinsou to show him the exact moment he threw the pillow at Kaminari, earning a snort from him.
"Betrayed by my own partners, and in Pride Month no less." He faked a sob, earning another pillow in his direction.
"I didn't spend all that time on your eyeliner just for you to cry it off."
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be careful… Can I please borrow this chain? Hitoshi, the love of my life, my favorite partner, the only one for me?" He batted his eyelashes at him for extra effect.
"Damn so I'M the side piece?" You faked hurt. "Expect to see your shit in boxes, Denki Kaminari."
"Noooo, baby I'm sorry, I'll change, you know you're the only one for me." He dramatically fell to his knees and held your hand in his. You played along, yanking your hand out of his hold.
"I bet you say that to everyone. Hitoshi, let's ditch his ass." You held your hand out for Shinsou to grab. He grinned and accepted your hand. The two of you got off of the bed and walked into the living room hand in hand with Kaminari trailing after you laughing.
"You can wear the chain, Denki. Keyword: WEAR, I want my shit back." Shinsou said. A loud 'YES!' could be heard and he scrambled back into his boyfriend's room to scoop up the chain and put it around his neck.
You checked the clock. "We gotta go now if we wanna make it there on time."
"Good point, Who's car are we taking?" Kaminari asked, rocking on the heels of his feet.
"I'm pretty sure it's Hitoshi's turn to deal with you this week. So we'll take his car."
"You know you love me." He purred.
"Damn right I do."
Tumblr media
A car door opened up. "Mr. Shinsou, your day of gay awaits." Denki exaggerated a bow as he held the door open for him. Shinsou laughed and stepped out. You went to open your door only to be stopped by a loud "TOUCH THAT DOOR AND I'M BREAKING UP WITH YOU."
You laughed at him, but removed your hand. "[Mr./Ms./Mx.] (L/n), your day of gay awaits." He opened the door with the same exaggerated bow.
"Why thank you, good sir." you responded and followed Shinsou. A car horn honked, signalling that the car was completely locked and the three of you walked down the street and almost immediately saw dozens upon dozens of rainbow everywhere. A huge smile broke out on you three.
"Guys guys guys, Aoyama's about to start performing." Kaminari called out and pointed towards a stage that looked like it was doused in glitter. Not even a minute later, Aoyama Yuga walked on stage looking like something out of a 70s disco scene and he looked fucking amazing.
He waved and blew kisses the moment he saw the three of you and you couldn't wait to see what was in store.

Tomura Shigaraki x AllMight!Daughter!Reader

When The League of Villains discovers that AllMight has a daughter, they are quick to snatch you up and hold you hostage. Shigaraki had a careful and thought out plan, but that was before you got there. Now you’re in the mood for some not-so-healthy rebellion.

Chapter 9 Chapter 11
Loud announcement after loud announcement blasted from the speakers as the police spoke. Repeating the same few sentences over and over again. His stomach turned as anxiety took hold of him. Izuku Midoriya stood nearly a block away from the scene as he watched. He and Bakugou were given orders to sit on the perimeter and wait in case they were needed. Having experienced The League before, their assistance was helpful. But everyone was hoping it wouldn't be needed. For now, everyone's top priority was you. Bakugou huffed in frustration, folding his arms across his chest as he watched.
"I don't get it. We should just round them up while we still can. If we don't act fast, they'll slip out of our hands again." He growled.
"Arrest isn't our top priority right now. The hostage's safety is. We can't risk any harm coming to her. You know that." Midoriya answered. The blonde scoffed and spoke again after a long pause.
"I still can't believe it."
"Believe what?"
"That he has a daughter. You'd think he would have mentioned something like that by now. After all these years. Especially one with such a strong quirk."
"Yeah...I don't have kids of my own so, I don't know much about that but...It's odd isn't it? That he never mentioned her. Not even to us." Bakugou thought for a moment.
"Maybe it was the mom. Maybe she kept it that way. We don't know much about her."
"No...that doesn't sit right. Her mom seems intense, sure. But that's his daughter. I don't know about you, but if I had a kid like her, I wouldn't be able to stop talking about her. So, it doesn't make sense why someone like him..."
"They were young, right? About our age?"
"That's right."
"Think about it. If you and Ururaka got pregnant right now, what do you think would happen?"
"Thats different, she's a hero too-"
"No. Really. Think about it. If she told you tomorrow you were gonna have a kid, how would you feel?" Midorya thought for a moment.
"Scared, I guess."
"Would you slow down your hero work? After everything you've done, all the work you've put into this. Would you risk it all to be a proper father? And what about her? Would Ururaka be okay putting her life on hold for that kid? I doubt it."
"I see what you're saying. But that still doesn't explain why we're just finding out about her now."
"I'm sure he was just trying to protect her from shit like this happening. It's clear he still cares for her. It was probably his was of keeping her safe. As messed up as that is."
"I studied All Might my entire life. Became his successor and student. And still...I feel like I never really knew him until now."
"Mh."
"You're still my most valuable player. You're staying right here." Shigaraki's voice purred as his grip tightened around your arm. Pulling you closer to him. You felt your blood quickly rush up to your cheeks. The hot feeling coursing through your veins. You heard the loud squeak of a chair shifting across the floor. Your quirk unwittingly being activated. He ignored the sound, his deep red eyes glaring into yours as his scarred brow bone curved over them in a tight scowl. His eyes, so brilliant and full of passion. You were lost in them. Time always seemed to stop when he did this.
"Boss! We gotta get out of here! We can't fight them all!" Spinner shouted, tearing those eyes away from you. How long had he been starring at you? Was he just as lost as you? You were doubtful. If he was lost in anything, it was probably his rage. His grip on you loosened, slowly dropping your arm almost like he was reluctant to.
"The truck. Is the truck ready?"
"Yes, but I doubt we can get out of here without being caught."
"Of course not. That's why we'll need a distraction. Until then we need time. Toga, the phone, quick." She jumped at the command. Grabbing a smartphone of hers and quickly adjusting it to film. Shigaraki's hands quickly found your body again. But they weren't nearly as harsh as last time, just firm. Man handling you to appear threatening. One hand coming around your neck from behind to display his fingers, and the other around your arm. He pressed you against his body.
"Filming!" Toga shouted.
"You heroes should know better than to just barge into such a delicate situation. The conditions are simple. Make one wrong move, and the girl is dust. I'll even leave her in a pretty little urn for you, hehehe, All Might."
"Cut! Edit and send to the heroes right?"
"And social media, anything to get it on the news. Dabi, Twice, is there a way for you to contact our friends on the outside?"
"But boss! They have us tapped! They'll be prepare for our escape!" Twice shouted.
"They've planned for it already. We've lost the element of surprise. We need results."
"Shigaraki?" You croaked.
"What!?" He shouted in your ear. You winced, holding your free had up to tap at his wrist around your neck.
"Could you, loosen up a bit?" He swiftly pulled his hands away from you. Watching you gently cough and regain your breath.
"We're not, really going to kill her, are we?" Toga pulled her attention away from her phone and shuffled closer to you. Turning to be in-between you and Shigaraki, almost to protect you from being grabbed again.
"No. Not if we plan to get out of here." He and turned sat down on the couch, his hands coming up to rub against his sore neck. Toga patted your back.
"You alright there? You're burning up. You're not sick are you?"
"No...No Im fine."
"You sure?"
"I'm fine. Thank you, Toga." It made her smile to hear you say that.
"Don't worry. Tomura's smart. He'll get us out safe, you'll see." You smiled back at her.
"I'm sure. But somehow I doubt I'll see you again. So, if this is goodbye-"
"Don't say that!" Toga shouted. "We're gonna stick together. Remember? I promised you I wouldn't let anyone hurt you!" You starred at her with wide eyes as your heart raced in your chest. A loud flutter.
"But, Toga."
"But nothing, friends stick together, right?" You nodded. "Then that settles it! We're taking her with us, aren't we guys?" Confused faces looked up at the two of you. "Well?"
"Uh- Sure." Spinner shrugged.
"Hell No - Alright!" Twice shouted.
"Heh, alright." Dabi chuckled.
"Tomura?" Toga called the absent-minded man.
"Huh?"
"We're taking her with us, right? She's one of us now!" Toga reached for your hand and curled her fingers between yours. Shigaraki looked up at her, his eyes lost in thought. "Tomura!" She scolded him like a little sister. He blinked a few times, shaking his attention to you.
"Are you, Y/L/N? Are you one of us?" You froze for a moment. No. Of course not. You're not a villain. You're not like these people! You're a heroes' kid! You're not evil! You're a good person!
You opened your mouth to speak, an overwhelming cacophony of thoughts keeping you from answering. For the first time in your entire life, you had been cared for in a way you never had before. No longer reliant on a bottle of pills to function properly. No longer forced to be productive. No pressure to be anything special. You could grow here. You could be yourself here. The room buzzed with energy at the activation of your quirk. Your emotional state boiling to a head, you opened your mouth to answer but before you could speak-
The building began to shake underneath you. You were thrown to the floor, eyes darting everywhere in search for the cause. The sound of explosions blasted above you, while what sounded like a bulldozer echoed below.
"Damn it! They're coming from both ends!" Dabi announced, gaining his balance to perform a ready stance before his blue flames emerged.
"C'mon Shigaraki! What do we do!" Twice shouted as he clung onto the man's forearm. The rest of you inching closer and closer to each other.
The blasts above became louder and louder until it became evident it was right above. Your stomach turned as you came to the realization. Before the order left his lips you had reached for a table across the room and brought it up above your small group for protection.
"Y/L/N!" Just in time for it to deflect the shrapnel of drywall that burst from the explosion above. Suddenly the floor below gave way, sending the six of you falling through the open air. There were supposed to be several floor to the building, but thanks to the hero, Deku, flimsy walls of the already rotting building had been quickly demolished within seconds.
You watched yourself fall, your hand desperately reaching for anything to hold on to. Failing and plummeting down with the rest of them. You watched as the DynaMight emerged from the smoke above to watch you with a satisfied grin plastered over his face.
The cries of the others behind you filled your ears. Why wasn't this hero doing something? Why wasn't he jumping to catch you? To catch the others? Is going to let you fall to your deaths? You can't let him do that! Quick- Quick- your quirk- catch them!
After a few attempts at activation in your panic, you were able to catch the others in the air. Just before their bodies hit the concrete of the building basement. Dropping them down from a safe few feet. The fall was uncomfortable, but a relief to you and the others that you could work so quickly.
But your success was short-lived as the building trembled and quaked with another explosion. You looked up just in time to watch what was left of the old hide out to come crashing down around you. Leaving you trapped in the basement, in complete darkness.
"THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?" A familiar shriek echoed in Bakugou and Midoriya's ear pieces. They both jolted at the painful intrusion. Your mother, having just stolen a police walky talky huffed on the other end.
"Our apologies ma'am but they're fine. I saw it with my own eyes. They're just trapped under debris. Everything is going according to plan." Midoriya reassured.
"Ac- ACCORDING TO PLAN!? You mean to tell me, young man, that you intended to trap my daughter in with her KIDNAPPERS, WHO THREATENED TO KILL HER!?" She spat, understandably.
"If they wanted her dead by now, she would be. Shigaraki doesn't play games unless it's necessary. Trust me." Bakugou barked.
"So now what? We just wait until this psychopath decays his way loose?"

Secret Santa Event,
Day 10
This little story belongs to my Christmas project, a series of stories leading up to Christmas Eve! Check my Event Masterlist for more information, and have fun!
A/N: might contain interactions with my MCs Clover and/or Violet (no spoilers ofc), but you don't have to know them to understand the story!
Content warning: kinda a lot of swearing, idk felt like it's worth noting
A flash of lightning illuminated his room.
Mammon shrieked up from the sudden clash of thunder. Thunder in broad daylight? That could only mean one thing...
"Mammon..." a female voice croaked.
Fuck.
The demon hurried over the the balcony's door in the lounge. An old lady was waiting on the other side, clothed in dark gowns, tapping her foot impatiently.
The witches are here.
Nervous, Mammon pulled the door open a slight bit.
"Oh, hey, Linda, long time no see" the demon gave a fake smile. "You look good today..."
"Mammon... You know what I'm here for, don't you?"
The avatar of Greed did some fake thinking. "Hm... You were missing the great Mammon? Well, can't blame ya, but I'm busy right now, so come back lat-"
Talking, Mammon had been closing the balcony door again. Or at least, he tried to, but the witch pushed against his motion, with such crazy force that it pushed the door right out of its frame.
As she let go of it, the glass shattered into hundreds of pieces, spreading over the whole carpet.
"O-oh...!" Mammon's eyes widened at the sight. "Y-You're really angry, huh-" He got grabbed by his collar the second after.
"You didn't pay your money this month..." the witch growled. "You know what happens when you don't pay your fee in time, right...?"
Another squeak, then Mammon tried winding himself out of her grip.
"L-look, I sent you a crow..." Mammon stammered. "You'll get a double check next month-"
The witch pushed him further into the room, such force in her hand that the hem of Mammon's shirt was choking him.
"You don't make the rules, Mammon."
"Hrrgh...!"
He got thrown onto the ground.
"So?" the witch asked, crossing her arms.
Biting his lip in frustration, Mammon pulled out his wallet.
"... There..."
Stretching out about 50.000 Grimm, he felt how it got snatched out of his hand.
The next second, the witch stood on the balcony again.
"Don't forget to pay us ever again, scumbag."
Frowning deeply, Mammon remained sitting on the ground. To think they would actually come up to his house... Let alone use such force on him.
He got pulled out of his thoughts as he registered footsteps coming closer from behind.
And he knew this presence that had stepped into the room, seeing the mess right next to him.
"MAAAAMMMOOOOONNNN..."
"Oh, come on, give me a break...!!"
-------------------
Mammon's mood kept being at a low for the next days.
He needed that money. More than ever, he regretted giving those darn witches even a single Grimm. Because now, he had to... Without...
"Uwaah...!"
A face appeared in front of him.
"Mammon?" Clover cried out. "Why are you standing in front of my door?! You gave me a heart attack..."
So Mammon had to put on a smile.
"Heh, it's your fault for being such a scaredy cat!" he grinned.
"Eh?!" Clover gave a pout. "No! And what are you doing here anyways?"
The demon gestured at the backpack he wore.
"The two of us are going for a little walk today" he stated. "So put on your hiking shoes, we're heading off to the forest in three minutes."
"... What?!"
-------------
Clover got ready in five minutes, to Mammon's luck without asking too many questions.
So they took the path from behind the house to get into the nearby forest.
"What'cha got in that backpack?" Clover asked once having accepted that Mammon had just completely changed her plans for the whole day.
"Stuff."
"... Ah."
"We'll search for a good spot to take a break, then I'll show you."
-----------------
So they walked, and walked...
Mammon seemed less talkative, much less willing to brabble on about work, the witches, or whatever came to his mind. So it was the girl's turn to engage in a conversation...
However, Mammon seemed terribly distracted.
He kept inspecting the woods very precisely, as if searching for a particular path to take.
Which, at first, did not seem weird, considering they were wandering through a pretty gloomy forest that even Satan once found himself lost in.
But it was so against Mammon's carefree nature to be so concentrated, so tense, even.
The girl was unsure whether to mention it or not, and kept it inside her for most of the time.
But as he grew frustrated, she grew worried, not able to hold back anymore.
"Mammon, is there someth-"
"There!"
He dashed forward and was about ten meters away from here in the blink of an eye.
"Mammon?!"
Running after him, Clover saw how he bowed down to inspect a rotting tree trunk.
And just as she reached him...
Mammon yelled out the loudest, most frustrated growl ever.
"GOD DAMNIT!!!" He punched the tree with his fists, with such power that it crushed the wood completely.
Clover stopped immediately.
"... Mammon...?" she called out softly.
"They changed their fucking hideout!!" Standing up, he kicked the trunk away. It fell apart mid air, but Mammon was already releasing his anger on another tree.
The girl couldn't believe her eyes when she saw Mammon transforming into his demon form, continuing to let out his emotions.
He growled, punched, cursed...
Clover felt tears forming in her eyes, not able to bear seeing her dear friend like this. She truly realised just now that she had never seen Mammon angry,
And wished from the bottom of her heart to never see him like that ever again.
"MAMMON!!" she cried out once more, desperately trying to get his attention.
"Those fucking pathetic shitty asshole witches!!" he grunted. "I should rip them all apart, for tormenting me, again and again. Should do to them what they do to me, a DEMON. But NO, I keep being an idiot, letting them get away with stealing money from me, with hurting me countless FUCKING times!!"
He had started using magic, and the trees were continuing to fall apart one after another, thudding on the ground, making everything shake and tremble.
"And you know what, FUCK IT!!" Mammon kept going. "They can have my damn money, laugh at me, call me whatever the heck the want. But that ONE FUCKING TIME I saved my money for someone other than me, they do it again...!!!"
He sliced trough another trunk, panting heavily from getting so worked up.
"And in the end, I remain the stupid, greedy scumbag that can't get anything done."
His voice cracked, finishing his sentence.
As his rage left him, his wings as well as his horns disappeared and he sunk down onto his knees.
You could hear him sniff quietly.
It took some seconds until Clover's brain was able to function again.
"M... Mammo-"
"Don't.", Mammon stopped her from coming closer. His tone was cold and truly hurt, keeping his gaze lowered to not have to see Clover's disappointment.
But the girl was desperate to help him...
Then, she noticed Mammon's backpack lying on the floor. It must have been ripped off Mammon's shoulders in his rage, now showing its contents through a huge rip.
Surprised to see colourful wrapping paper inside, she went to grab the bag.
'for: Clover
from: the great Mammon'
"... Don't open that" Mammon grumbled. "It's not what I wanted to give you."
Biting her lip, Clover crouched down, beginning to unwrap her Christmas gift.
She found a mix of small gifts:
A self made calendar with pictures of sea otters and a box that looked like a kit to make those friendship bracelets everyone made in kindergarten...
And a piece of cloth were someone had, well, tried to stitch an embroidery. It was scuffed, but Clover could make out two faces, one with white hair, one with a bow in their hair. Embroidered rather scuffed, it said 'X-mas' above their heads.
Clover couldn't stop staring at it.
"... It's all I could afford..." Mammon mumbled. "I had to organise something after those fucking... After they took the money I saved. I wanted to buy you a new laptop, since your last one got destroyed in science class... But... Well, you might as well throw away that trash if you don't-"
He got tackled into a tight hug.
Clover was sobbing next to his ear.
"Mammon...!" she cried. "I love it, thank you so much...!"
"... Huh?"
She squeezed him tighter.
"Just, please... Don't be so hard on yourself... And... I... I don't know what to say, or how to help you, but... I don't want you to be in such rage... I love the cheerful and goofy Mammon, so it pains me to see you like this..." She had to pause as her sobs intensified. "Please, Mammon... I don't need an expensive gift... That is not what Christmas is about... And this is certainly not what I wanted when we started the secret Santa project, so... Cheer up, please..."
"Wh... Why are you crying, human?", Mammon asked, however having to hold back tears himself.
"Because I care about you!" Clover pulled back to lock eyes with him.
A gasping breath escaped Mammon's lips.
"But this stuff..." He gestured towards the presents. "... Have you seen how scuffed it is? I had too little time to actually make the bracelets, also I think I forgot to add November into the calender...and the heck do I know about stitching! Have you SEEN how bad this is?!"
"But I love it!!" she called out.
"... Why, though?"
"Because it's from you, silly" Clover smiled. "And it's things that I like! Sea otters, fun accessory... And of course... Just our friendship."
Mammon's eyes sparkled.
"... Really?"
So he got pulled into a hug again.
"Yes" Clover mumbled. "From the bottom of my heart."
She felt his arms taking wrapping around her.
"... Thank you...", the demon mumbled softly.
So she hugged him back.
"I have to thank you."
They stayed like this for a little longer, then Clover pulled back.
"What do you say we go home and make each other a bracelet?"
Mammon grinned.
"Yeah" he nodded. "We'll make the best proofs of friendship ever!"

Paris, France.
10:43 pm
Dear Alice,
Its been twelve years since Renesmee was born. Twelve years since I married Edward. Twelve years in the face of forever.
If I were still to age I would be thirty now.
It's strange to think of such an amount of time both short in the reality of my having forever, and so long and everything I had feared such a short time ago. In three days time comes my worst nightmare. My thirty-first birthday. Edward tells me that I shouldn't count, but how can I not when I look at my life now, and see in it what could have been. What could have been if Edward had his way and made me age and get old. What could have been if I got to this day naturally and saw myself as a grown woman, standing next to my husband who looks seventeen. My husband who will look seventeen forever as I would have died a little each day slowly watching the creases on my face deepening.
Oh, Alice. I'm sorry. the trouble with letter writing instead of emailing is there's no way to undo what you've written- except for scrapping the whole thing and starting over, but I won't do that, you've waited long enough for my reply.
I haven't told Edward about your letter, and you know he wouldn't be happy with you if he knew in advance, but I think it's a good idea. I haven't seen Renesmee since she and Jacob visited two months ago. I still can't get used to the idea of my daughter being with my old best friend. But luckily I've got the rest of my life-which will never end- to come to terms with it. I've missed them while we've been here. I hate not seeing her so much but what can we do? Jacob lives with his pack and Renesmee is wherever he is. But maybe it's for the best, the less I have to see them together the less I have to think about what exactly that means.
I'm looking forward to seeing the old house again after so long. I hope you've stocked the kitchen for Renesmee, I've missed you all so much, Edward has too, despite what he'll say when he sees you all. We'll see you in a few days. But you already know that.

All my love,
                   Bella
Returning to our townhouse after sending my letter, I found Edward where he had been sat for the past 3 days straight; bent over the grand piano in our 'living room'. Without much need for typical human comforts we kept pretences for just that. Pretences.
Drawing closer I sat beside him on the small bench and tapped his arm gently. Nothing. I rolled my eyes; we needed to be back home at Faulks in two days, but he was completely absorbed in the new piece he was writing.
"Edward." I cleared my throat, raising my eyebrows.
He doesn't even know I'm here right now. I sighed, heading into the kitchen to resume by activities of the past week. Authentic Italian cooking. Every year since I became a vampire I've taken up a new interest and this year I was inspired by one of my moms old cooking books. She, of course never used it, or any other cooking book but when Edward and I 'vacationed to Italy' after we were married she gave me an old book full of Italian recipes when we returned. And so, after falling in love with the recipes I decided I wanted to be able to perfect them in the real Italian way; installing everything I needed into our modest French townhouse and buying every cookbook I found, and lastly being tutored by an Italian chef. It's been amazing. But I missed being able to cook for the people I loved who could actually enjoy it. Renesmee left too soon, I sighed to myself, but was gently consoled by the fact I was going to give Charlie a shock when I got home with a proper Italian meal for him and Sue. I couldn't wait.
After practicing my signature dish- which I was told by the locals was 'très magnifique'- I followed the music coming from the living room and found Edward, perfectly content, leisurely playing a composition I'd never heard before.
"You're done?" I asked.
He turned from where he was sat and looked at me serenely, his gentle smile slowly turning into the one reserved only for me.
"Yes." He smiled softly, rising to meet me.
"Would you like to know what it's called?"
"What?" I grinned, throwing an arm around his neck as he leaned down to meet me.
"I don't know yet." He confessed in a whisper.
I laughed, "Well, you can think about it on the way to Faulks." I said as I watched his face intently for his reaction.
To my surprise, he frowned and the rest of his features softened, eyes straying from my own, wonderingly.
"That's a good idea." He said slowly. "Yours?" He asked.
Oh god. I don't want to lie to him but...
"Yes." I tried to smile without wincing, but somehow I didn't think it would escape his notice.
He narrowed his eyes at me. "Alice's?"
I straightened my already unnaturally straight back (vampire posture had me looking more graceful than I could ever feel. In this life or my human one), and looked him in the eyes challengingly.
"No." I said firmly. "My idea. It's almost my birthday and I want to go home for it. I want to see our family again."
A half truth. I thought to myself. An omission isn’t really a lie.
He arched an eyebrow casually down at me, obviously seeing through me, but pressing no further.
"I've packed for both of us already. You were busy." Thankfully.
"Okay," He said, dropping the subject before taking my hand and leading me to the piano. "Let me play for you before we leave."
"But we're not leaving until tomorrow." I objected instinctively. "Wait no." I laughed, "that doesn't matter.” I shook my head, smiling up at him. “Play for me." I corrected myself, sitting on the chaise opposite him where he sat at the piano.
He smiled and rolled up his sleeves and read from the creased papers standing tall above the keys.
"Pour toi, mon amour." He said softly as he began to play the most beautiful melody I had ever heard. It reminded me of one of my favourite chopin pieces he would play for me... something in E flat. I sat perfectly still with my eyes closed as he played, hearing his fingers stroking the keys, the quiet movements underneath the music adding something much more intimate to the practice.
As he stilled to a close, I opened my eyes only as I felt him beside me.
"That was beautiful." I breathed.
"I'm glad you like it." He murmured. "It was written for you."
"The next thing I take up after my Italian kitchen ventures, will be something that will benefit you." I promised. "This isn't fair, you being so perfectly considerate and me...learning to cook in a household where nobody has any need to actually eat food."
"Just because I don't need to eat food doesn't mean I don't enjoy whatever you make." He said softly. "And for your information... just you being here... just your existence alone... benefits me. I don't need anything else."
My heart fluttered as he slowly smiled down at me. I looked into his eyes and I blushed as I realised this was never going to get old. I was going to keep feeling like a teenager hopelessly in love forever. And, to my embarrassment, forever in our world really meant forever.

The Girl Out of Time
Pairing: Bucky X Reader and Sam X Reader
Background: Willow Roffe was born and raised in Brooklyn. She lived her life as happily as she could with her two childhood best friends Bucky Barnes and Steve Roger's. When they both left her to join the military she tried to continue with life but that didn't get to happen for her for the simple fact that she meant something to James Buchanan Barnes.
Rating: Story will be overall MATURE but not every chapter. There will be strong language, talk of both mental and physical abuse, some good ole angst, and smut. There will be a warning at the beginning of the chapter when it includes smut.
Chapter 13
Tumblr media
I was dropped off downtown to keep an eye on Sitwell while the other three worked on stealing Sam's old high tech suit. I didn't mind being left alone with this job. I had no where near as much experience as the other three did. Being perched on the roof of one of the tallest buildings in the city with a long range rifle was a good place for me.
It didn't take me long to find Sitwell threw my scope. He was sitting at a table in the fancy little restaurant eating with another man. I kept my scope trained on them as they ate.
"Willow" Steve's voice called threw my ear piece.
"Captain" I replied with a smirk.
"Are you in position?" He asked.
"I'm perched with eyes on the package." I told him.
"Great, Nat and I are in the car. Sam should be getting in position any second." He explained.
"Roger that Rogers" I said then internally laughed.
I few minutes passed as Sitwell and the other man continued to eat. I watched as they received their check then paid.
"Package is on the move." I stated simply once the two men left the table.
Only a minute or two passed before the men exited the building. I continued to watch threw the scope as the men spoke to each other. They shook hands then seemed to whisper something in each other's ear. The man Sitwell was with continued down the stairs followed by two body guards.
"Show time" Sam's voice said threw the ear piece.
A few seconds later Sitwell was pulling his phone out of his pocket and answering it.
"Agent Sitwell, how was lunch? I hear the crab cakes here are delicious." Sam said threw both the cell phone and ear piece.
There was a pause as Sitwell spoke.
"The good looking guy in the sunglasses, your 10 o'clock." Sam replied.
I watched as Sitwell looked around in the opposite direction of where Sam was sitting.
"Your other 10 o'clock." Sam said in a mocking tone.
Sitwell turned around immediately finding where Sam was.
"There you go." Sam said.
Another pause as Sitwell spoke again.
"You're gonna go around the corner to your right. There's a gray car two spaces down. You and I are gonna take a ride." Sam explained.
Another pause as Sitwell responded.
"Because that tie looks really expensive and I'd hate to mess it up." Sam said sternly.
That was my cue to turn on my laser sight as I focused the beam on Sitwell's tie. The man looked down then instantly paled. I turned off the laser as Sitwell did as he was told. I draped the gun's strap over my shoulder as I moved to wait for the others.
A few minutes later the metal door to the roof I was on crashed open as Sitwell came threw stumbling backwards. Steve and Nat were both walking towards him menacingly.
"Tell me about Zola's Algorithm." Steve said harshly.
"Never heard of it." Sitwell stuttered as he fell to the ground.
I continued to watch silently from my spot by the door as Steve demanded information. They backed Sitwell to the edge on the roof. He tried to mock Steve only to have Nat kick him hard in the chest making him tumble off the roof. Only a few seconds passed before Sitwell's screams could be heard again as Sam soared into view holding the man by his suit jacket. Sam dropped him back on the roof then landed next to me. Sitwell was quick to tell Steve anything and everything he wanted to know after that.
"That was awesome." I told Sam quietly.
He chuckled then looked down at me and winked.
"We need to move now and he is coming too." Steve ordered.
I grabbed Sitwell by the back of the neck to guide him back down to the ground. The five of us climbed into the car. Sam was driving, Steve in the passenger seat, and Nat and I had Sitwell between us in the backseat. We went straight for the highway.
"Hydra doesn't like leaks." Sitwell said suddenly.
"Then why don't you try sticking a cork in it." Sam said in annoyance.
"Insight is launching in 16 hours. We're cutting it a little bit close here." Nat said leaning towards Steve.
"I know. We'll use him to by pass the DNA scans and access the helicarriers directly." Steve said simply.
"What? Are you crazy? That is a terrible, terrible idea." Sitwell said in panic.
A sudden crash on top of the car had every sense of mine going nuts. Out of some weird instinct I moved forward putting my body against the back of Sam's seat. A second later a metal hand came threw the window beside me. It grabbed Sitwell then pulled him out of the window and into the street. A shot rang out coming threw the roof into the back seat. Nat scrambled into Steve's lap. Two more shots rang out as I moved to climb out of the window to face the attacker. Before I could get out of the window the car came to a screeching halt throwing the man off the roof and onto the road in front of us. He slid a few feet using his metal hand to balance himself.
It was the same man that shot Fury. The man Steve and I had chased. He stood up looking absolutely menacing. Even though I was a super soldier and stronger than Captain America himself something about this man sent a shiver down my spine.
The car was suddenly rammed from behind causing Sam to put it back in gear and floor it. We moved straight towards the metal armed man. He jumped grabbing a hold of the car's roof again. The next second the metal arm was punching threw the windshield and ripping the steering wheel completely out of the car.
"What the fuck?" I questioned to myself.
Nat suddenly starts shooting forcing me to duck in the back seat. I heard the man jump off the car only to land on the SUV behind us. The SUV rammed into us again making the car almost flip as it hit the concrete barrier. Steve turned in his seat to look at me.
"Out the window Will." He ordered.
I nodded as he grabbed Nat and Sam. He kicked the door off the hinges as I climbed out the window. The car started to flip as I launched myself towards the SUV that our attacker was still hanging onto. I land on the hood next to the man. I immediately move to kick him but he dodges my attack. I was ready for his return but it never came. Instead he moved to the side of the vehicle away from me. I jumped off the SUV as it slowed. I reached Sam at the same time a rocket hit Steve's shield throwing him into the air and off the bridge we were on.
"Steve!" I shouted trying to hurry to his side.
Sam grabbed my arm pulling me back behind a car just as bullets started to spray like mad. I had no idea what was happening with Steve or Nat. The only thing I knew was Sam and I were trapped under raining gun fire. I was able to get close enough to see the metal arm guy standing on the edge of the bridge. He stumbled backwards then ripped the mask from his eyes. We made eye contact. He looked at me in a way no one ever had. It was something I couldn't explain. It was like he knew me. I moved to attack but before I could reach him he jumped over the edge of the bridge.
"Willow!" I heard Sam shouted.
I ran as fast I could to his voice. He had taken done the sniper. He stood at the edge of the bridge giving cover fire to Steve and Nat.
"Are you okay?" I asked quickly.
"I'm fine. What about you?" He asked.
"I'm good" I nodded.
"I think Steve might need your help. That dude is ridiculously strong." Sam said gesturing to the street below us.
Steve was now one on one fighting the man with the metal arm. I kissed Sam's cheek then jumped over the edge landing in the street a few feet behind the masked man.
I whistled loudly earning me both Steve and the other man's attention. Again the man looked at me with wide and weary eyes. Steve moved to attack while the man's back was turned. Right before he hit the man the metal arm was there blocking the blow. He turned back to Steve throwing punch after punch. I ran forward jumping to kick him back from my friend. My kick landed making the man stumble backwards. Instead of the man attacking me he moved to put Steve between us. Steve landed a heavy blow knocking the man back again but this time his mask had fell off. The man straightened then slowly turned to face us. Steve immediately froze and I was in shock. That was the face of James Barnes. But how? Steve said he was dead. The two men stared at each other for a moment. Steve looked like he'd seen a ghost and the other man only glared.
"Bucky?" Steve questioned in disbelief.
The other man tilted his head to the side.
"Who?" He questioned in a voice that took my breath.
James moved to attack again just as Sam swooped in forcing the man back from us again. The next second an explosion went off then the man that looked like James was gone. Before we could react to anything sirens were surrounding us.

Guess who's back?? Btw I'm sorry for the format, Tumblr doesn't allow me to make paragraphs anymore?? Idk why but everytime I post it with paragraphs they're suddenly gone 🤷‍♀️
~
In which y/n sees Kai in her dreams.
~
“That was a good one!”, y/n laughed.
The young woman was sitting at the table in the kitchen of some house somewhere in Virginia. At least Kai said so.
Said man was sitting in front of her, they were playing some game but he had interrupted it by his corny jokes.
“So what are you up to today?”, y/n asked after her laughter had quieted down.
“Hm, we'll see”, Kai stated, pouring himself a glass of water. “Probably going to watch some TV, steal something from the store down the street. The usual for living alone in a world.”
Y/n sighed, grabbing his hand and squeezing it. “I wish I could be there for you. Be here.” She looked around the room, around this small piece of Kai's prison world she was in.
“Oh, don't you worry! I'm just going to wait till you go to sleep again.”
Y/n chuckled dryly, scratching her fingernail over the table.
“Yes, I know, but I just-”, she stopped abruptly.
Y/n felt the strange pull in her stomach, that weird feeling she still hasn't fully become comfortable with after all these years.
“Is it already time?”, Kai asked, standing up and swiftly walking towards the woman.
Y/n nodded, gripping his arms as her legs grew weak. “I frigging hate this feeling.”
Kai chuckled, holding her waist with one hand.
“See you tomorrow”, he said, gently caressing her cheek with his free hand.
Y/n felt her face grow hot, he was so close to her and he smelled so good and-
“See you tomorrow”, she whispered and then she was gone. Disappearing into thin air.
Y/n groaned annoyed as she stopped the ringing of her alarm. 7 am.
Tumblr media
Kicking away her blanket, the young woman pulled the ring on her necklace to the front.
It always fell to the back when she was sleeping.
Turning the ring around in her hand, y/n thought of Kai.
The ring had been his once. All those years ago before he was put into this prison world.
Y/n's grandma had found it in the woods in Portland, where Kai had lost it in the night of his imprisonment.
The ring was her gift from her grandmother at her 14th birthday. And also the reason for her dreams. Or whatever they were. They started a few days after her birthday and just never stopped. At first y/n was scared out of her mind of this strange young man in her dreams, living completely alone in the world and being so incredibly rude too. But after some troubles they really got to know each other and y/n Kai became friends, somehow.
She thought she was crazy when she was younger and she still did, sometimes. But she just couldn't believe that her mind could make up such a realistic person. Y/n never told anyone about her dreams though. Not her family nor her friends, she knew better than to try it, she had watched supernatural movies after all.
Letting the necklace go she stood up, making herself ready for work.
Tumblr media
“Elena! How are you?”, y/n exclaimed as she saw the Gilbert sitting in the Grill.
Y/n worked there in the summer to pay off her student loans, just as a few other of her friends.
“I'm fine”, Elena snapped. Wowie, y/n thought, someone was in a bad mood right now.
Elena's gaze softened and she turned to the other young woman. “I'm sorry, y/n. It's just-”
“It's just that Damon and Bonnie are still gone?”, y/n interrupted, she might not be one of Elena's best friends but they got along more than good and so y/n knew about the absence of Elena's boyfriend and her best friend. Even though y/n didn't exactly knew everything.
“Well, Damon's back”, Elena stated. “I'm actually meeting with him here, but Bonnie's still… away.”
The way Elena's said ‘away’ made y/n frown. Bonnie wasn't missing, was she? No, if she really was missing, y/n would know. All of Mystic Falls would know.
“Well I hope she comes home soon”, y/n said, smiling brightly and said goodbye.
On her way to the bar she saw Damon and waved, a small grin forming on his normally frowning face.
After a long day at the Grill and with her friends and studies, y/n was more than happy to change out of her clothes and fall on her bed. Looking at her clock, she saw that it was already 10 pm.
Snuggling into her blankets she clutched her fingers around Kai's ring and fell asleep.
There was the feeling of falling and then suddenly she stood in the same house as last night, the sunlight bathing the dark room in bronze colors.
Turning around, y/n couldn't spot Kai. Hm, normally she would just appear in the same room as him, where was he?
“Kai?”, she shouted, walking into the hall. No answer.
“Malachai? Where are you?”, still no answer.
Without a warning the front door opened, nearly knocking y/n off her feet.
“Hey!”, she cried out taken aback, stepping back a few steps.
“Y/n? What are you already doing here?”, Kai snapped, glancing behind him. What the hell?
“Wow, Kai. I'm happy to see you too”, y/n snarled, putting her hand on her hip and looking at him suspiciously.
“You can't be here right now”, Kai growled, slamming his hand against his head.
Y/n flinched, grabbing his hand and hiding them tightly.
Kai always had the habit of punching his head and everything when something was with her, as if that would make y/n disappear. Because even though they knew each other for years now, Kai still thought that she was just a hallucination, a way of making him feel better in this lonely hell.
“Hey, Kai. Kai!”, she shouted, catching his attention. “You know I hate it when you do that”, she said quietly, her eyes sad. It hurt her so much, when she saw him in pain.
“Kai? Who are you talking too?”, a feminine voice said, standing behind the door. Before y/n could react the woman walked into the hall, looking at Kai and then at her.
Y/n knew the woman. It was-
“Bonnie?”
“Y/n?!“
Gasping y/n sat up in her bed. Fuck, her head hurt. In all these years of having these dreams she never had left them this abruptly, being more like pushed out of them than slowly pulled out.
What the hell happened?
She saw Bonnie and then she suddenly woke up. Oh God, Bonnie! Her shirt had been full of blood and she'd looked like hell. And most importantly she had been in Kai's prison world. Kai had told her that he was there because of murdering his family (with which y/n was still not comfortable with), so what had Bonnie done to get imprisoned there?
Or was she accidentally there?
Glancing at her clock, y/n saw that it was only midnight yet. Not too late to hit up Elena.
Tumblr media
Standing in front of the massive Salvatore mansion, y/n snuggled more into her warm jacket and ringed the bell.
She had picked up Elena here a few weeks ago, the two of them wanting to go shopping with Caroline.
Now she was waiting for someone to open up, Elena or one of the Salvatores, she didn't care.
The door opened and y/n saw Damon, looking annoyed at her with an open shirt. Apparently y/n interrupted Elena's and Damon's sexy time.
Y/n smiled shyly. “I'm sorry to disturb you, but I have to talk to Elena.”
The vampire looked at her sceptically.
“It's about Bonnie.”
Tumblr media
“So you saw her in your dreams?”, Elena asked slowly.
Y/n nodded slightly, maybe it wasn't the best idea, now they probably did think she was mental.
“And in your dreams you are in a prison world with Kai?”
Y/n nodded again.
“How do you know that psycho-boy?”, Damon looked at her closely.
“Psycho-boy? Do you know him?”, y/n asked surprised, turning to him.
“I was in that prison world with him for months. I only escaped alone because your murder-boyfriend shot Bonnie in the stomach!”, the man spat, his face furious.
Y/n gaped at him. “No, he- he wouldn't do that”, the woman whispered, then cringing.
“Well, he did kill his family, so… “, Elena mumbled and y/n frowned. She was right, though.
“How do we get her out of there?”, Damon asked annoyed.
“Well-”, y/n interrupted Elena. “What do you mean ‘her’? We have to get both of them out of there!”
“Oh no, no, no, no, no”, Damon laughed pouring himself a glass of bourbon.
“We won't help that psycho-murderer get out of there!”
“But-”
“No!”
Y/n frowned deeply.
“Well, I don't know how to get anyone out of there”, y/n snapped, “so I'll get going.”
She stood up, taking her coat from the couch.
“You may not know a way but you can help us with the witchy-woo”, Damon said.
Y/n turned around to the two of them. “Witchy-woo?”, she asked.
“Well yeah, or whatever you witches call your magic.”
“Damon, I don't think-”
“You- you think I'm a witch?”, y/n spluttered.
Damon nodded confused. Elena rubbed her temples.
“I'm not a witch!”, y/n laughed hysterically, “We're not in some kind of fairy tale!”
“Y/n, you have to have realized that these dreams aren't normal”, Elena said in a soft voice. “They're pretty common for witches.”
“I mean, of course I know that it's not normal, but I'm not--I'm not a witch.”
Y/n shook her head vehemently. “If I'm a witch, what are you? Vampires?”
Elena and Damon went silent, looking at each other.
“Oh, you've got to be kidding me”, y/n groaned, having to sit down again. “I'm in a damn Twilight fanfiction.”
Tumblr media
It had been a week now since y/n found out about the supernatural world. And her probably being a witch. They couldn't confirm it yet, y/n couldn't actually use her ‘magic’ specifically but Elena and Damon and all the other vampires, y/n had met this week (well she did already know them, she just never knew that they weren't human) were sure that was a witch.
God, it felt so weird, saying that. Her, a witch.
There's also been another weird thing. In this whole week y/n had never dreamed of Kai. Not once. Sleeping, actually sleeping and not spending time with Kai, was strange for her.
It was like he didn't want her there, with him. As if he pushed her away.
Y/n awoke, in the middle of the night again, she had slept, like a normal human being but it felt wrong.
She grabbed the ring, thumbing it around.
“Kai, please, let me in”, she whispered, near tears. She couldn't sleep and not being able to dream of him, to be with him with her visions, she didn't just feel like she couldn't relax she felt like she had lost her best friend.
Crying out, y/n pulled off her necklace, throwing it into her room.
She couldn't sleep that night.
Tumblr media
A few weeks later, y/n was walking home from the Salvatores, having spend the whole day trying to find a way to use her powers, as she saw a man standing on her front pouch.
“Can I help you?”, she shouted, pulling her keys out of her jacket.
The man turned around and y/n let go of her keys, clanking down to the ground.
That tall frame, dark hair, these dark intense eyes. Malachai Parker.
Y/n gasped, looking at him shocked.
Kai smiled. “Hello, love.”
The young woman cried out, letting her bag fall to the ground and running towards him.
He laughed deeply as she threw her arms around of him, picking her up. Her legs wrapping around his waist.
Kai sighed, burying his face into her hair.
“Why! Why would you keep me out? I was so worried, I thought- I-”, y/n sobbed, clutching his back.
“I'm sorry, I'm sorry”, Kai mumbled, squeezing her thigh.
She looked at him, into these deep brown eyes. God, they were shining and so full of emotion. Her smooth hands stroked his jaw, up to his hair, pushing some strands back. He was so handsome and he was here.
“I can't believe you're here”, she whispered, fingernails lightly scratching his neck.
He nodded, his nose nearly touching hers.
Suddenly she was more than aware of their closeness, her legs around his middle, their faces only inches apart, his grip on her thigh.
Y/n breathed shallowly, her gaze flicking to his lips, just as his did the same.
Both of them flinched as the sound of a horn echoed from the street.
Y/n coughed slightly, awkwardly getting off of Kai.
The man grumbled something quietly.
“Let's- let's just go in”, y/n mumbled, picking up her stuff and walking to her apartment, making sure not to meet his eyes.
He was hot on her heels, following her into the small apartment y/n was able to afford.
They had spoken about that exact home once in one of her visions, Kai had never listened that closely. He was happy he did, otherwise he wouldn't have found her.
“Home sweet home”, y/n chuckled, shrugging out of her jacket.
She walked into the kitchen, drinking some water.
Kai appeared in the door frame, leaning against it.
“Love”, he started.
“How are you here? Why are you here? Why didn't I have these dreams the last weeks? You once said you're a witch? Are you a witch? Am I a witch? Elena and Damon said so but-”, y/n rambled.
Kai laughed lowly. “Breathe, y/n, breathe.”
Y/n nodded, sitting down.
“I'm going to explain everything later”, the young man said, walking to where y/n was sitting.
“But firstly I have to get some magic.” Right, y/n thought, she remembered that he was a siphoner and now being in the real world again, he could get magic again.
“Right, of course. I don't know how, though.”
Kai kneeled down in front of her, gently grabbing her wrists.
“Let me try something, that way we also find out if you really are a witch.”
Kai watched her closely. Y/n nodded, she trusted him with her life.
His grip on her wrists tightened and a hot feeling shot through them. It traveled up her arms and spread out until her whole body was hot and prickled.
“Kai”, she moaned, her body growing weak.
He stopped abruptly, letting go of her and nearly falling on the floor, his eyes dark with ecstasy.
“Y/n”, he groaned. “Well now we're sure you're a witch.”
“Why?”, she asked, slumped again the chair.
“Because I just took a bit of your magic and you have more magic than any other witch I've ever known.”
Tumblr media
“If you want to stay you can take the bed”, y/n said, putting their dinner in the fridge.
They had spent the entire afternoon with talking, catching up with what happened in the last weeks.
Kai nodded thankfully.
“Elena called, they found Bonnie but they don't know where you are.”
Y/n felt bad for lying to Elena but she didn't want the vampires to do anything to Kai.
"Thank you", the siphoner smiled softly. "And I can take the couch if you don't mind."
"OK", the young woman whispered, turning to her bedroom door. "Goodnight, Malachai."
"Goodnight, love."
Y/n was a light sleeper, so when she started to hear mumbling from the living room she was nearly instantly awake.
"Please- I- father, please", a voice groaned loudly. Kai.
Y/n slowly stood up. He had to have a nightmare. He told her about those years ago. Moments of his childhood when his family would punish him for, well, living.
"Kai?", she called out, standing at the door. The young man was laying on her couch, his tall frame nearly to much for the small couch. He was withering under the thin blanket, hands gripping the sheets, his face sweaty and hair clinging to his forehead.
"Let me go- I'm sorry- please don't- father, please, why-", he muttered, feet kicking away the blanket.
"Kai, hey, Kai!", y/n said loudly, sitting down next to him and touching his chest.
"Kai, wake up, Kai!", she shouted, she couldn't see him like that, it hurt.
Gasping, Kai sat up, his chest heaving and his eyes scanning the room disoriented.
"It's okay, it's okay", y/n mumbled like a mantra, hugging him close.
Kai sobbed lowly, gripping her waist and pulling her even closer.
"Oh God", he groaned quietly, his body calming down slowly.
She let him go after he calmed down mostly, still holding his hands.
"Do you wanna talk about it?", y/n asked, watching him closely.
He shook his head, not meeting her eyes.
"Where-", he cleared his throat, "Where is my ring", he was looking at her neck where his ring would normally hang since she was 14.
"Oh that. I- I'm sorry, I took it off when you didn't let me in anymore. I was so angry and worried.", y/n whispered, squeezing his hand.
"I'm sorry that I did that, I only pushed you out for a few days and after that you never appeared anymore. I was worried sick, myself. Ask Bonnie, I was really grumpy the last weeks", he muttered and y/n laughed quietly.
"It's OK", she said, "And I'm sorry for taking off the necklace."
Kai smiled, squeezing her waist.
She was sitting nearly on top of him and when she realized that, she blushed.
"Oh, shit, sorry", she whispered, making a move to stand up again.
Kai shook his head, pulling her back so that she sat in his lap.
She gasped, grabbing his shoulders. Oh God they were so close.
His arm wrapping around her waist, he pulled her even closer, their chests touching.
Y/n's eyes were wide, her cheeks rosy and her hair falling out of her braid.
Kai smiled softly, his hand touching her neck and cheek.
"God, you're so beautiful", he mumbled leaning towards her and before she knew it their lips touched.
Y/n moaned lowly, her hands gripping his shirt. Angling her head, she kissed back, slipping her tongue between his lips.
Kai's grip around her waist tightened, his hand teasing her braid.
His kiss turned more passionate, her hand clawing at his back, his neck.
"Fuck", Kai gasped as he pulled away, his eyes nearly black.
Y/n nodded shakingly, her lips swollen.
"I've waited so long for this", he chuckled, pecking her lips. Y/n grinned heartily, closing the gap again.
They were finally together.

Hurricane Michael: Returning to a city that no longer exists
BBC News, Mexico Beach, Florida
By Hugo Bachega
18 October 2018 US & Canada

Families have returned to Mexico Beach, a Florida town devastated by Hurricane Michael last week. Many are finding their homes in ruins; others, no home at all.
The scream was heard from a distance - "Look!" - and Jaques Sebastiao, broom in his hand, quickly walked through the rubble that was once the family's home in Mexico Beach to where his wife, Bela, pointed to the ground.
"It's Mother Teresa," she euphorically told him, and picked the small, surprisingly unbroken, statue of the saint, bought during a trip to Rome years ago.
Ms Sebastiao removed some of the dust from the sculpture's face and carefully carried it to the surface of the washing machine, several feet from its former place, where they put the very few things they had been able to find.
"These are my little treasures," the 46-year-old said, and rested Saint Teresa alongside the three other slightly damaged statues.
She then grabbed her black gloves and went back to digging through the sand and debris, under a merciless Florida sun, looking for the rest of her collection.

This was the first time the couple, who had moved here in August, returned to this beachfront community that was virtually flattened by Hurricane Michael, one of the most powerful in US history, last week.
The third floor of their house was blown away by the category four storm that brought winds of 155mph (250 km/h) while a powerful wall of water presumably helped destroy its ground level, taking everything with it. Very little of what was still standing would likely be of any use.
"I heard on the news that it looked like somebody had dropped a bomb here. It's like [it was] a bunch of bombs," 60-year-old Mr Sebastiao said.
Before arriving, they had located their house in stunning aerial pictures of the destruction and had a sense of what was - and, perhaps as important, was not - waiting for them. Yet, they were shocked. "You see the damage but it's nothing like being here," he said. "It's much worse."
Tumblr media
On Wednesday, residents began to see the damage by themselves of what has been described as "ground zero". Nobody could stay and there was very little sign that people would be moving back in anytime soon. (There was no electricity and water, and mobile phones were slowly working again thanks, in part, to a drone that provided signal.)
"It looks like a war zone," Bela Sebastiao said. They were one of the last ones to evacuate, they said, after officers went door to door in the hours before Michael strengthened, telling people to leave.

Here's how to survive a monster storm
Most of their immediate neighbours did go but dozens of residents defied the orders and stayed, including those who had been through other hurricanes before. When it became clear that Mexico Beach would be directly hit, it was too late for some of them to leave.
Two deaths have been confirmed so far, of a woman and a man who lived separately, and whose bodies were found under the rubble - the couple did not personally know any of the victims. Across Michael's catastrophic path, at least 26 people were killed in four states, and dozens others were said to be unaccounted for.

With each and every little discovery, Jaques and Bela Sebastiao shared surprise and sadness. It was the piece of a gift from a close friend that brought back good memories, or a broken object that belonged to one of their three grown-up sons, two of them who lived abroad.
"A lot of things I can replace," said Ms Sebastiao, fighting tears. The worst for her would be losing pictures of her father, who died in 2011. "Nobody else has these pictures, and they're gone."
The couple, at least, had found their home. Others had came back to nothing.
Tumblr media
For those who knew it, Mexico Beach had something unique. Many of its some 1,200 residents knew each other by name and the town's small, old houses gave it a picturesque feeling. It is now all gone.
Most of the buildings next to the beach were completely swept away and it was almost impossible to determine where the streets started and ended. Numbers had been written on cardboards put on trees and lamp posts that resisted the hurricane, and family's details were being sprayed on walls - when there were walls.
Tumblr media
Across the town, some residents had sprayed-painted signs saying "Loot it and I shoot". Looters, some of them armed, have been active in Bay County and officials said about 10 were arrested every night since the storm hit.
Walking with another family whose home, now just a pile of debris scattered over a different property, was three minutes away from its known address, a representative of an insurance company looked at his camera and said: "There's nothing to take a picture of."
While many of the houses were said to be insured, it was unclear if the payments would cover the costs of reconstruction following stricter - and more expensive - rules. Rebuilding the town itself will take a long time.
Tumblr media
Shortly after arriving, the Sebastiao family raised a US flag in front of their neighbour's house, the wife of a former Air Force pilot who died years ago. He was once based in the nearby Tyndall Air Force Base, where hangars and other buildings were also heavily damaged by Michael.
She had asked them to search for objects belonging to her husband, "the only thing she was interested in," Mr Salgado said.
A guide to the world's deadliest storms
With her home almost completely destroyed, it would be no easy task. He had some hope, however, after finding his own years-old Christmas village almost intact.
"I feel like we're blessed. We still have a place, a lot of people don't," Ms Sebastiao said. "We still can go through stuff and find some stuff."
Tumblr media
House after house, the objects being collected offered a small glimpse into these family's lives. Next to the Sebastiao home, a kitchen pan had been separated near the foundations that used to sustain a house.
"We're looking for anything," said 55-year-old Shelly Breedlove. "[The pan] is not a big deal for anybody else, but it's a big deal to me." Her teenage son had found a wooden structure, probably part of a door, where children's heights had been marked.
For 20-year-old Connie Huff, whose house was now a pile of debris three minutes away from its known address, there was not much to be rescued - some items from when she was cheerleader at high-school, two medals and an old picture.
"I felt devastated," she said. "This place will and always will be beautiful to us and be dear to our heart."
Tumblr media
Outside of the ruins of their house, Jaques and Bela Sebastiao looked at what remained of the kitchen and joked about the cans of drinks and boxes of food that somehow stayed untouched on the top of the fridge.
"The saints," Mr Sebastiao jokingly said, looking at his wife, "protected the best stuff."
She laughed. "Only one payment done and Michael decided to pay us a visit."
"We'll rebuild it," he said, "but it won't be the same."

Chapter 8 Chapter 10
Two months. You've been "missing" for two months now. The days flew by, your time occupied by quirk training Shigaraki insisted on but never told you why. The times you tried to ask he'd brush it off, or say something like:
"So you don’t throw another fit." His words were harsh but he said them with a flat and bored tone. Like it was a poorly acted line.
So now you had better control. You could move things on command, you knew basic combat, you certainly knew how to kick Dabi's ass by now, that didn't take too long. You were being allowed more and more freedom. Even allowed to leave for a convenience store runs with Toga once or twice. No one policed you, told you what you could and could not do anymore. You could have easily ran away by now. You supposed they really didn't need you either. For their plan to work all they would need was some blood and Toga could easily pass as you.
That idea sent a shiver down your spine. You're sure Shigaraki has thought of that already, so why hadn't he? Why was he training you? Would he use your quirk against the heroes in some way? Was he grooming you to turn and fight your father? You wouldn't. No matter what you wouldn't fight your father. Would you? You shook yourself of this thought as you walked down the ally to the back door of the hide out.
Toga unlocked the door and you stepped in, greeted by a dark and dingy back room. You made your way through the dark halls, following closely behind her as she led you up the stairs that finally led to the parts of the building with power. Soon you found yourself walking to the familiar living space where a few people rested. Dabi laid himself out on one of the couches, Spinner sat fiddling with his burner phone, and Twice had started yelling at the TV before you arrived.
"Luuuunch!" Toga shouted. Toga was often used as the errand girl, she brought back necessary supplies, oftentimes food. Today Toga asked you to tag along and help out, and there wasn't a single objection to the hostage going out on the town. You sat the heavy bags down on the coffee table, taking out the contents as you spoke.
"Where are the others?" You asked.
"Mr. Compress was sent on an errand of his own. And Shigaraki's probably pouting in his room. He'll come out when he's hungry." Dabi groaned as he took his meal from your hand.
"Oh. I'll just bring it to him." You said, absent-minded. All eyes turned to you, looking confused and shocked. "What?" You asked.
"Nothing! It's just-"
"He doesn't like to be disturbed." Toga and Twice spoke. You paused and looked at the box in your hand. It would get cold if he didn't eat soon, and besides, none of you had had much to eat lately, you were sure he was hungry. You knew you were.
"I'll just leave it at the door and knock. It'll get cold and then he'll be in an even worse mood." You told them. They watched you turn and walk up the stairs to his "room". You stood in front of the door, with such thin walls you could hear furious typing on the other side. Loud clicking of a mouse, and the sound of a computer's fan. You took a deep breath and softly knocked on the door. Suddenly the sounds abruptly stopped, followed by a bark.
"What!?"
"Foods here." You called back. You heard footsteps on the other side growing louder and louder until the door flew open. You stared up at the tall man as he looked down on you. His hair hung over his face, his eyes hardly visible. Your heart rate quickened the longer you looked at him. What the hell is wrong with you?
"Give it to me." He held out his hand, his pinky holding out in preparation to receive the box.
"You said you liked spice stuff, right?" You asked as you placed it in his hand.
"Yeah."
"We got you their spicy special. I hope it's not too much. The sign said 'caution' on it." He scoffed at you, turning the box and looking at the writing on it. He fell very quiet. Inspecting the box, you suddenly worried that something was wrong with it. That maybe you'd messed up somehow. But before your anxiety could reach its peak-
"Thank you." His voice was low and soft. You could hardly hear him. Then before you could respond he closed the door and left you alone again. Did he really say that? You never heard him say that to anyone. Granted, you hardly knew him but still, the way he said it, it made you feel... special in some way. You shook yourself from your train of thought and shuffled down the hallway, pausing when you heard movement and the door to Shigaraki's room open. You froze.
"Wait a minute." He barked. You turned too look at him. He hung out of the doorway to stare at you.
"W-What?" You asked. Shigaraki had a way of making people feel like they were in trouble. His ability to easily become an authority figure was something you were beginning to understand now.
"You...went out?" You nodded. He paused and looked away, his eyes shifting as the gears spun in his head. He turned back into his room as he spoke, "come here for a second." He asked. You slowly made your way to his room, the door left wide for you to peak inside. A dark room lit by portable light fixtures and a laptop computer which sat on an old desk. A cot thrown to the corner covered by the same old and tattered blankets the rest of you had.
"Am I... in trouble?" You croaked.
"What? No. Close the door behind you, you'll let in a draft." He ordered, seeming genuinely confused by your question. You closed the door behind you, leaving you completely alone with him in his space. Your heart raced.
You watched him turn and look up at the wall which he had decorated with plans. Pictures of heroes and villains cut out and pinned. Newspaper clippings, printed out articles and research essays. He was planning something, but what it was was difficult to determine. You did notice however, a cut out of an empty figure with your name on it pinned to the center of it all. You stared at it for a second before he broke you from your train of thought.
"Well?"
"Huh!?"
"What do you think?" He asked. His attention turned to his meal, he picked at it, taking a few bites.
"Of what?"
"...the plan." You looked back at the wall, puzzled you tried your best to gain any sort of information from it. Only being able to find bits and pieces. You knew it involved you, your father, and the take down of hero society. A cut out piece of article said something about the rise of villains, that more and more people were turning to villain work. How those rates have a correlation with classes. You slowly turned back to look at him.
"I'm sorry you're gonna have to explain this to me." You told him. He rolled his eyes and stood, directing his attention to his work as he spoke.
"This is the second part of the plan."
"What was the first?"
"Taking you as a hostage."
"Right. But, didn't you say the plan was to expose the heroes after they weren't able to rescue me and not only expose the faulty heroes but also my father as a neglectful and flawed individual not worthy of the hero title?" He paused.
"Yes."
"But that didn't go as planned."
"....."
"Didn't you say something about making a video to broadcast outing myself as All Might's daughter and causing panic? What happened to that plan?"
"It became leverage. If they attempt to come for you, then we'll go with that. But if we do that now, they'll come for you now and we'll be forced to fight."
"Isn't a fight...a good thing? You'd get news coverage and You'd no doubt gain supporters."
"Normally it would. But a fight isn't what we need right now. The heroes have us surrounded. If we make any move at all, we're in their hands. We won't be able to win."
"Not even with your quirk? Couldn't you-"
"Not with everyone here. As strong as I've gotten, I'm not strong enough to keep them from getting swept up and dusted too."
"Right."
"We're in a tight spot. One wrong move and we'll be wiped out."
"What about your supporters? Couldn't you get help from the outside."
"I could, but the heroes would see it coming. They have our signal tapped. Any sort of communication has to be verbal or written."
"Homing pigeon?" You offered. It made him smirk.
"Right now we're like a fox trapped in its own hole by hunters."
"So... we dig?" That made him smile, wide.
"Dig. If we could smuggle ourselves out of the city, we could reach a clear spot where we can call for backup to get us."
"Why not send one person to smuggle themselves out? Toga could easily disguise herself and leave."
"They have a barrier."
"What?"
"Part of the city is closed off until further notice. They know exactly where we are. If one gets out, they won't hesitate to come for all of us. We all have to get out at once and they can't notice until it's too late."
"But how the hell are you gonna do that?" His smile widened. He looked truly excited and happy. For the first time you saw your capture seem truly excited about something.
"We have a few secret recruits in the city. Spies." He turned his attention back to his meal box, reaching in to pull out the inner box that held the food, to reveal a piece of paper sitting underneath in the flimsy take out box. "I didn't know they were letting you out of the base now." He spoke as he opened and read the note within the box.
"I thought, you knew. I thought you were the one that said I could. Dabi said it was fine." He read the note and stood to pin it up on the wall before speaking.
"I've been too busy with this to worry about you. You shouldn't believe everything that Dabi says. I told him to make sure you just don't have another episode and cause a scene before we leave. I thought assigning him babysitting duty would keep him busy." He chuckled. "There's just one thing I don't understand." He turned back to you. "Why didn't you leave?"
"I...I..."
"You had the opportunity, but you're still here. Why?" You froze. Why? Why didn't you run?
"I was scared I'd be killed." You lied. He laughed at you.
"Don't lie to me. You lost that fear a long time ago. You know that's not true. If I wanted you dead I would have killed you a long time ago."
"You've kept me alive to use me as bate. To, to expose the truth." You argued.
"With Toga, we wouldn't need to." You swallowed hard. You knew he had thought about this.
"I'll tell you why I stayed, if you tell me why you've been training me." He scoffed.
"To keep you busy, to keep you from having another episode."
"That doesn't make sense. You could have drugged me, killed me, you said it yourself. But you kept me alive, you kept me busy. You could have kept me on my meds, unable to use it at all but you insisted I learn my quirk. You trained me yourself. Why?" His smile faded and his expression became dark.
"I asked you first." He growled. You looked away from him and thought for a moment before gaining the strength to answer. You knew the truth for a while now. You never wanted to say it out loud. You refused to look at him as you spoke.
"I don't wanna go back. But you probably already knew that by now. You just wanted to hear me say it, huh?" His smirk returned.
"Had a hunch." He snickered.
"Now you answer me."
"Why don't you wanna go back?"
"We had a deal. Answer my question now." You barked at him. It took him a long pause. A full minute of waiting in silence felt like agony.
"I thought it would help you feel better." He muttered in a surprisingly husky tone. "Keep you from asking me to dust you again." That's right, during your episode...
"I'm sorry." You blurted.
"What?"
"I'm sorry I... I asked you to kill me." You hid your face from him. He shifted and crossed his arms across his chest.
"It's not a big deal, I dust people all the time."
"No, I know. But like, I can't imagine being asked to by someone having a fucking break down happens all the time too. I kinda...kinda put you in a shitty position." When you looked up, he looked confused. Comically so. "What?"
"I took you hostage." He reminded you. You couldn't help but chuckle, that made him more confused.
"Shit, yeah, you're right. Guess I shouldn't be so hard on myself huh?" He looked away. "Still. My intentions weren't to upset you."
"You didn't upset me."
"It seems like I upset you." You toyed. His guard was down, he was vulnerable, and allowing you to be there.
"Shut up. You didn't answer my other question!" He shouted in an almost playful tone. You couldn't help but smile, only to have it slowly fade as you thought about your second answer.
"I don't want to go back because..." you stopped, the words getting stuck in your throat. You were unable to speak. He looked down at you, waiting for an answer. He seemed almost relaxed. He seemed normal. Like a normal guy leaning against the wall of his bedroom with his arms folded across his chest. Your eyes wandered up to his scarred neck, bright red scabs forming. Inflamed and fresh. He had recently scratched at it again, clearly in an upset state too. When he blinked you got a clear view of the scarring around his eyes.
"Boss!" A familiar voice shouted from outside the door. "Boss!" Before you could move the door was thrown open, Spinner's wide eyes finding you standing there. He shook his confusion loose before turning back to Shigaraki who quickly changed his position to attention. "Come quick!"
You followed him back to the living space where the old television sat. The news playing loudly as everyone gathered around to watch in panic. Swat teams and heroes decorated the screen as shot after shot showed them surrounding your building. Fear ran from your toes to your head, making you feel nauseous and dizzy. Shit. Shit. Shit. They're here for you. But you...you weren't ready to leave. And what about-
"Not again! - We can take 'em'!" Twice shouted at it like a sport was playing.
"Tomura, what are we going to do!?" Toga asked, frantically bobbing up and down in panic. He watched the TV intently listening in.
"After receiving a tip from an anonymous source, police and heroes found missing tourist Y/L/N Y/N being held captive by The League of Villains in this abandoned office building. Officials are working now to safely rescue the hostage."
Suddenly a loud voice was heard both on TV and through the halls of the building.
"League of Villains. We have you surrounded. Please let Y/L/N go and no one will be hurt." A cop shouted through a megaphone.
"C'mon Shigaraki, what's the plan?" Dabi asked, clearly starting to get uncomfortable. Before Shigaraki could respond, you spoke.
"Well, looks like this is it for me." You began walking away, only to be stopped by a strong, four-fingered grip pulling you back.
"Where do you think you're going!?" He growled.
"The jig is up, Shigaraki! Let me go! I'm not useful anymore. All they want is me, if I'm out of your hair you'll be able to escape easier." His grip tightened, pulling you closer as his red eyes bore into yours.
"So long as you're here they won't dare make a move. You're still my most valuable player. You're staying right here."
