WHY THEY DON'T FUCKING TALK ABOUT IT.
Peony: Thinks everything is all fixed now 🥰
Triandra: Too caught up in her self-loathing and agonizing guilt to even consider speaking with Sharena, the only reason she's on speaking terms with Peony IS because of their closer proximity to each other (being alfar/shared background) and Peony's persistence
Sharena: Talks to Peony, Doesn't talk to Triandra????? Sharena is. The Ignorer. Maybe she wants to reach out, but doesn't know how or even where to begin. But honestly I think she's repressing a bunch of shit too. To speak to Triandra would mean having to Unpack All That.
Alfonse: Speaks to Peony and Triandra on business only. Very professional. Very cordial. Yes there's also the harsh self-criticism and agonizing guilt and holding even his child self to impossible standards like this never should have happened. I should have stopped it. I should have fixed it. I should have been Enough to Prevent This. For my sister to have been in the realm of dreams, her peers being abused and left for dead, what does that say? What does that mean? What happened? How could it have happened? It should have never happened. I should have

This is my big one for s2e6 and it’s the thing that made me bolt upright in my chair, really just ... kicked me in the chest. For context my point of view on the show is a non-supernatural one, I do not think Lottie is psychic I think she’s delusional. It’s okay if you do not, but that’s the context for my take:
I have a strong suspicion that adult!Lottie’s being played, and I really do not like it.
Full disclosure, I have a history in the psychiatric world as a patient, I’m not schizophrenic but I am psychotic and I am well managed and very stable but like... I know what this shit is meant to be like, from about 15 years of personal experience. So back in s2e4 I was immediately .... confused. By Lott’s new psych. She seemed... just off.
I thought to myself “Hey, you know, psychiatry is one of those things that is so often misrepresented in all forms of media, I’m probably just reading too much into it.” But then I rewatched (and rewatched) and the more I did the more it felt... deliberate. What got to me was that ... her normal psych has gone on sabattical and been replaced, and the new one is trying to tell her not to suppress her visions with medication but try to understand them and what they’re trying to tell her.
A real psychiatrist simply would never talk like that. Would never suggest that. As far as psychiatry is concerned, Lottie is schizophrenic, her visions are delusional. And delusions/hallucinations are less ... they’re less like dreams where you might think “Oh I’m going to keep track of what I’m dreaming about and see if it means anything” (which, incidentally, is also not a thing a psychiatrist would usually do, but that’s besides the point) but are more like... a damaged computer, throwing up random, unsorted and unrelated data. Our brains are pattern finders, we desperately try to make connections in what we experience, and when our brains start misfiring and giving us bizarre and nonsensical data we still try to connect it. Delusional thinking doesn’t ... say anything about you, it doesn’t mean anything. It’s just the brain trying to sort nonsense into piles of organised nonsense.
From a psychiatric perspective a delusion or hallucination is a symptom no different to a ... headache or a rash. It’s a non-desirable issue to be treated and ideally cured, not ... explored and looked at for some kind of deeper meaning. And this isn’t even talking about like, trauma, and processing it through therapy. Lottie’s psychosis manifested long before the plane, she’s been on medication most of her life. It’s not something she can just... ignore, or choose to fight, or try not to have. More than that, by actively engaging with it it damages her coping mechanisms that she’s developed over the years to ground her in reality when she’s not certain.
Anyway. This all just seemed.... off. Wrong. And Lottie’s reaction is to say “There’s no meaning, because they’re not REAL.” Because she’s spent a LOT of time in treatment, trying to build a solid foundation of reality to live on. She’s clearly very distressed by the idea of losing touch with that, and her psych is NOT helping. It all seemed very... off.
I thought through options of what was going on. Maybe... maybe her new psych isn’t real? Maybe she’s talking to the wall? That was my best theory with so little to go on. But it was not a very satisfying answer, and didn’t really fit the general themes and style of the show anyway... I was confused.
Fast forward to ep 6 and we get more time with the new psych. Lott is now CLEARLY agitated. She can’t sit still, seems very anxious. She starts talking about “the visions” and “this feeling even about things that I know are right infront of me, it’s like it’s pointing me towards back then.” Her psych says “Is it possible that your fear of the past might be actually your fear of your illness?” Only THAT IS NOT WHAT LOTT SAID. She didn’t SAY she was afraid of the past, she was afraid of “a feeling about things I know are right infront of me, pointing me back towards then.” What does she mean by that? Finding random queens in a pile of papers? Visions of dead bees? The reality is that she’s not afraid of the past, she’s losing touch with reality. In psychiatric wording, she’s struggling to hold onto “insight” i.e. the ability to determine what’s real or not.
Lott kind of misses this disconnected thought though, and instead she says “That’s not the problem, I’m not worried that I’m ill, I’m worried I never was.” This shows a complete LACK of insight, she’s forgotten that only very recently she was terrified of her illness and now she’s suddenly thinking that maybe 30+ years of treatment were all for nothing? Maybe she was just never sick at all?
Then she goes off on a tangent, she says “With Travis coming, Natalie and now Misty’s here too. It’s like it sent them here, to show me.” “To show you what?” “That it WAS real. And that I wasn’t the only one who felt it out there, that it was all of us, that it was a part of us.” “What is...it...Lottie?” And she goes off about the god of the wilderness and the terrible things they did.
But... okay so Lott’s losing her objectivity here, which is ... not uncommon for a psychotic person to deal with. And she’s developing a belief that she was never sick, that she was never delusional, that it was always real. Now only 2 episodes beforehand she’d come to the psych on an emergency basis to increase her meds PRECISELY because she was afraid this would happen. She’s TERRIFIED of getting to this exact point, being this exact way. Because it leaves her absolutely out of control of herself, her own mind.
But listen to what the psychiatrist is saying. First she says to her face that Lott’s psychosis is “controlled.” But... no it’s not! She’s having hallucinations, she’s CLEARLY delusional, and showing all kinds of signs of psychosis. She’s definitionally out of control.
Then she asks probing questions not about her mental state, but about the details of her delusions, about the god of the forest. She STILL hasn’t increased her meds and she’s acting like it’s not at all weird that she’s saying stuff like “I think I’m not sick and never was.” Which, to a psychotic person or a psychiatrist is SUCH a red flag, because the next immediate question to raise if a schizophrenic or bipolar or otherwise psychotic person says those words is “...are you taking your medication?” Because believing that you’re not delusional is one of the core hallmarks OF BEING DELUSIONAL.
Literally the definition of a delusion is a belief without evidence that you hold against all odds even in the face of contradictory evidence. If you are sitting there saying EXTRAORDINARY things and requiring zero external evidence to back up your claims and ABSOLUTELY certain in those beliefs no matter what... that’s delusional. Of COURSE you think you’re sane, if you lack insight you simply cannot tell what you’re thinking isn’t rational.
It’s like you are so certain that gravity exists, you can feel it, you can see its’ effects, and you comfortably put your life on the line for gravity a hundred times a day. If someone told you gravity wasn’t real you’d think they sounded mad, and if they told you YOU were the one out of touch, and that actually gravity wasn’t real, you could just look around and go “Uh... obviously you’re wrong.” But if you’re getting bad info into your brain you could be relying on something with JUST AS MUCH certainty and have absolutely no idea or capacity to tell that it’s actually completely wrong, no matter how many times you were told or shown. Medicated psychotic people regain their insight and can say “Sometimes I think things that don’t make sense, and I can tell that they’re not real, and I’m glad I don’t make choices based on that false information.” Unmanaged psychotic people say “I don’t know why I should take some pill, I’m fine, nothing’s wrong at all.”
I just canNOT fathom how any psychiatrist in the world would sit with a known schizophrenic patient who’s describing having active visions, who believes that a god they found in the middle of the forest is sending people to them so they can all be magically healed by them, and not IMMEDIATELY say to themselves “Hmm, this person is clearly having a psychotic event, is clearly in a tough spot, and needs their meds adjusted and maybe we should look into their wellbeing in the short term.”
All of which led me to suddenly jump up in my chair and shout “OH MY GOD” at my poor friend who was watching with me. Because I think that Lottie is being manipulated. I think that someone’s been fucking with her meds. I think that someone got rid of her real psychiatrist and replaced him with a plant. I think the new psych is either trying to encourage her to become a more invested cult leader, possibly the cult is becoming like... more intense without her knowledge and they’re trying to turn her into a saint by removing her meds and encouraging her delusions. OR someone is trying to work out what REALLY happened in the woods and they’re manipulating her so that she’ll tell them the full story while she’s vulnerable and confused.
Either way, I’m 99.9% sure someone’s deliberately fucking with her at this point, and it’s actually really pissing me off because I can’t stand seeing vulnerable people, esp mentally ill people, being manipulated and used. It’s a HUGE thing for me, and ... aaaaaah whoever’s behind this shit I hope they meet Shauna on a very bad day.

Ask game time!^^
Each asks is technically meant for everyone, but you can also go with a character of your choosing or two if you feel like this is getting too long lol
Anyway hope you have a great day/night!^^
General Info 04 What kind of magic do they possess? If they can't use any, do they have magic potential slumbering within them?
General Info 05 Which deadly sin best aligns with them? Which one do they embody the least?
Concept and Design 05 Do they have any physical attributes that set them apart from others?
General Info 04 What kind of magic do they possess? If they can't use any, do they have magic potential slumbering within them?
Zeke: My default MC is psychic! His empathic ability to sense emotions and to read auras is very well developed even before coming to the Devildom. Also he sees and speaks with the dead, classic. After coming to Devildom he learns more traditional magic from RAD and Solomon.
Valentine: The only magic that Val seems to possess is the fact that he's immortal and will eventually heal from any injury, no matter how severe. This can take a long time depending on how much damage was inflicted.
Tobias: Toby can't use magic outside of very specific blood rituals unique to werewolves in my universe. However, he is physically as strong as greater demons (i.e. most of the brothers) and he is almost immune to magic in general.
Silas: Also a blood magic user, although much more varied and stronger than the blood magic Toby uses. Guess that should be a given since Silas is a vampire and all.
Zenith: Spatial and shadow magic is his specialty. Teleportation in the form of stepping from one shadow into another. He can hide inside the shadows of other people or objects, can use a shadow to spy on people via watching and listening while unseen. Shadow puppets or familiars can break off from his own shadow to fight for him. He can create his own pocket dimension inside a fixed shadow.
Wren: Fae wild magic, healing and nature-based! He makes flowers grow and bloom faster, brighter, and longer.
Ashe: Obviously as a phoenix he's very proficient with fire magic. His fire is blue where his twin sister Cinder has traditional red/orange fire. I didn't include her on the list because she isn't really a key character in any of the fics Ashe features in. Ashe is also a dark phoenix, so focuses more on chaos and destruction. He can use healing and resurrection magic though.
Damon: Very potent infernal magic! He's only half-demon but it really hasn't held him back much.
General Info 05 Which deadly sin best aligns with them? Which one do they embody the least?
Zeke: Given how polite and soft-spoken Zeke can be, it might be surprising to say his primary sin is Wrath. He has a lot of anger and resentment buried in him. Least is probably Greed. Prior to coming to the Devildom he lived a very spartan lifestyle. He just doesn't put a lot of value in material things and doesn't want all that much.
Valentine: I would say Pride is probably his most prevalent sin. Least is probably Envy.
Silas: Gluttony is probably his biggest sin, or maybe Lust if you count Bloodlust. Least is probably Wrath. Even when he's insatiable for blood it's never about rage, it's just hunger.
Ashe: Lust, and Wrath are both very strong in this one. Envy is probably least.
Concept and Design 05 Do they have any physical attributes that set them apart from others?
Zeke: Zeke has purple eyes, which most humans don't have as you know. Also they glow the color of the sin he's channeling when he uses the brothers' powers through the pact.
Valentine: At the "present" Val has quite a lot of scars, and walks with a cane because one of his knees is not fully functioning.
Zenith: Think more Eastern than Western dragon. In dragon from his body is long and covered in soft, black fur - mane and tail tuft are silver, and his eyes have no pupil and glow silver as well. He doesn't have horns, but more like antlers that are decorated with delicate silver chains with moons and stars dangling from them. He wears a silver moon bangle around the end of his tail too.
Wren: His ears are slightly elongated and pointed because of his fae father. Also has dark red hair down to his waist and bright blue eyes with flecks of green in a starburst pattern.
I did all of the characters for the first question and only four on the other two questions. It's gotten to be a long response. Thank you so much for your questions! I had fun answering.

I'm sorry but that mental image is too strong, imagine your father leaving to who knows where then 30 years later you find him on all fours, naked and covered in blood, even at his lowest PK finds ways to inflict psychic damage on his children jjahshddh
you know, that's pretty much exactly how i imagine hornet found him, except for the naked part haha
i think one of the reasons why she decided to take him into dirtmouth instead of killing him is cause he was straight up terrified when he saw her. he was avoiding everyone for the longest time, and his self-hating brain kept telling him that she despises everything about him (she doesn't, not anymore at least, though their relationship is still a bit complicated), so he just assumed that she'd kill him right there

With the introduction of Ice Zone this month, we have officially done it.  All major types have a Zone.  Except for Normal.  Brace for anniversary, that's all I'm saying.  But with each type now having a Zone, and the introduction of these newfangled rebuffs...how are the types doing?
See, when I started playing, it was pretty well accepted that Fire, Water, and Psychic ruled the meta.   Electric wasn't too far behind, but didn't have the same powerhouses behind it.  As someone on Reddit so eloquently put it back when Second Anniversary pairs were being dunked on: "They don't feel underwhelming because they're bad, they feel underwhelming because they don't abuse field effects.  Every top meta threat has focused on application or abuse of field effects.  It shouldn't be a surprise that these new pairs don't feel as overwhelming when there's nothing to take advantage of." But now, that discrepancy is (mostly) over.  And are those types still top dogs?  Today, I will be going over the types, and how I feel they perform in the current meta.  This will include F2P tools, highest potential, and what I think is missing from the archetype.
18) Poison I mean...is anyone surprised?  The entire type lives and dies by the question "Did you pull Emma?"  Roxie getting an EX at least raises some hope, but I'll be honest, I don't anticipate much.  Their F2P pairs are really bad at damage, and even premium options tend to be a rough time. Their Zone setter, H!Iris, is by far the worst of the bunch, having virtually no utility unless 3/5, where she gets a really crappy debuff rate on a shit-tier move.  Poison is just depressing to think about.
17) Bug Though man, Bug is not far behind.  Here's a fun question: did you pull SC Emmet or SS Hilbert?  No?  Good luck with life, then.  Even Alder feels like a genuine struggle by comparison.  And to be frank, I don't consider SC Emmet that good either.  He's a clean sweep in CS, but in Gauntlet, I think I wind up benching him most times, even with long streaks.  The F2P crowd seems good, but Bugsy and Noland both come with a ton of issues, including "Oops I couldn't quite take out center on second sync, my bad!"  The general pool is also loaded with some of the worst.  Guzma sucks, Burgh isn't great, Lusamine's stupid frail. And of course, SC Ingo is a really bad Zone setter, focused entirely on physical and not doing much else for the team.  It has oddly solid supports in Aaron and Lodge Dawn, but like...Bug is not doing well.
16) Normal Now to make the sincere argument that Normal, a type who lacks Zone and can never deal the same damage as any other type due to supereffective modifiers. Yet I stand by it.  Normal gets great utility.  SC Steven is absurd.  C!Red's SEUN application was downright unique before Jasmine sniped it from him.  Even among the commons, you get a lot of nice effects for checking Gauntlet gimmicks, ensuring they often get used.  That's more than I can say about Poison and Bug, frankly.  It's not a good position, but I think Normal as a type at least offers better value than the last two, thanks to its range of effects.
15) Flying Flying is so weird to me.  On the one hand, you have Lysandre, who is legitimately great after his expansion, and Kahili, who is one of the best F2P sync pairs for damage, backed by Skyla, one of the best F2P walls.  But on the other.  Anni Steven is the worst Master Fair.  All of the type's options tend to be weirdo gimmicks like P!Elesa.  Nate is there.  Flying has some of the lowest lows the game offers, and just a few standout performers.  Even its top competition often doesn't feel that exceptional.  Like I know intuitively that SS Ethan is strong, but he never quite feels that great in CS or in Gauntlet.
14) Fairy Perhaps another contentious one, given recent additions, but Fairy sucks ass bro.  How do you have three goddamn Zone setters and not one of them helps physical?  I know Rain has similar issues, but Calem at least tries.  I think the main problem is that no one actually fixes the issues present.  Diantha, SS Wally, and Bede are the only good damage dealers, but anything else?  Get out. Valerie got a shit grid, Mina's stats let her down, Lodge Lillie is great for Stall but needs EX to function as a competent syncer.  And there's like no general pool fairies.  Even at the top, NY!Lisia doesn't have a single good Zone setting partner, holding the type back way further than it needs to be. "But Sycamore-" always takes first sync and has serious issues with survival given how many Fairy-weak stages are physical.  Despite having like a billion options to choose from, Fairy still feels like one of the worst types, which is staggering.
13) Steel On the one hand.  Palentine's Marnie is a very good partner to the majority of the Steel type.  On the other.  Gauges are atrocious on literally everyone who isn't Molayne.  Like, why are gauges so hard to work with on this type?  And Marnie being so slow is the biggest problem, it doubles down on the worst aspect of the type.  I do think Steel has some decent if limited performers in the F2P pool, and Gloria popped off but only really takes off under certain conditions.  The type isn't exactly hurting, this is a fair break from the other types I think are just bad, but Steel does not feel like it's doing particularly well.
12) Ice I am going to make the bold declaration that Ice went from the worst type, to #12 overall, solely from Irida's inclusion.  Like, if it were just SS Silver, I think I'd still put this at the bottom.  But the Zone setter for this type went so hard that she's pulling Lorelei to off-type clears.  That is, to put it bluntly, insane.  The type went ballistic with Irida's presence.  But as we're soon to find out, it takes more than one good sync pair to save a type, and when Irida isn't in play, oh my god does this type suck.   It's the only weather to not have a competent support.  All of your damage dealers are bad.  Ghetsis has serious claim to the title of "Worst Legendary Pair," with people like me being entirely serious about Candice seeming better.  The type was in complete shambles, and Irida alone does not make it good.  Moreover, she helps the worst in the type, not the best, so Ice tends to not feel like a standout performer.
11) Ground Ground is blessed with Courtney, a general pool pair with Zone access.  This is unheard of.  She's literally the only one in the general pool with this effect. That's how bad Ground was.  But time has been good to the type, and has resulted in them getting much needed improvement.  SS Giovanni was a CS killer, Cynthia's expansions popped off, Maxie remains relevant, and Bertha and Courtney offered legitimately good general pool ground-type damage.  These are the traits that put it above Ice.   The trait that holds it back is that your F2P pairs are garbage.   Naomi's good, but she's limited F2P, so that's not counted. Hapu and Clay were like the only Ground types most players had in my day, and are still the only really accessible options.  And they are trash.  They are absolute trash.  Even with advances in the meta, they fail constantly.  Ground succeeds by virtue of being less pigeonholed into a single option to make the type function, but it's definitely not good.  I think it just needs a seriously good Lodge Striker in the type, and we'll call Ground much better.
10) Rock Rock is like Ice, if Ice had some competent independent performers.  The type lives and dies now by the good graces of SS Diantha, who is the only way to salvage SS Brock, Grant, and Kukui.  Again, you can't rely on one option, but thankfully it wasn't.  Olivia was a great CS striker with her absurd sync, and the triple premium options of C!Blue, Emmet, and SC Hilda carried well enough to work.  Rock wasn't as down and out as Ice was at its lowest point.  But it's also never really risen to fame.  There's not a great Rock-type solution.  Emmet relies entirely on Sandstorm, Blue is the awkward physical sync/special DPS, and SC Hilda's technically weaker than both but more consistent, if reliant on setup support for attack and speed.  They have options but nothing exceptional yet. Roxanne alt when?
9) Dragon Dragon has some of the better damage dealers in the game, so why am I being mean?  Because they're not that great.  Unless you are the combination of SS Brendan, Lucas, and SS Serena, Dragon is not doing so hot.   Lance's expansion was good but not Cynthia tier, and C!Iris is falling off really hard.  The bottom of the barrel picks are so bad as to be laughable (Sorry Iris and Clair, I love you but oh my god), and the free legendary pairs are awkward.  Cyrus has better Water damage than Dragon, and Zinniquaza has a lot of competing demands.  The type functions.  It does well enough, but truthfully I consider it like the exact middle of the road type.  Good enough that it's not struggling, but not so good it's standing out.
8) Fighting If Fighting succeeds at anything, it's having two exceptional Zone setters.  Fairy may have three, but they're all super limited.  Fighting is not so limited.  On the one hand, Aura Cynthia is perfect godwall that emphasizes DPS play on a type with a ton of high-DPS options.  On the other, NC Hop is fantastic debuffing potential and manual Zone, to let allies sync as needed.  These are insanely strong tools that give the type relevance.  Add to it, they have a standout performer in SC Diantha, who is so good that Cynthia not supporting her sync was considered a knock against Cynthia.  And among F2P options, Bruno is fairly competent.  But you'll note the issue.  Each side only has one competent actor to follow up.  A!Cynthia does not fully support the offensive buff needs of a pair like Brawly or Marshal.  Hop can take a different support, but he's the type of Zone setter that eclipses the significance of any possible partner, which I consider a detriment.  Why have other options if Hop is just better than all of them?  So Fighting exists in a space with some real standouts, but there are very few of them, and don't ask about the rest.
7) Ghost Oh yeah, Ghost type.  When I started, Anni Lillie was the big name.  Ghost was considered one of the worst types, just no competent damage dealers.  But when Lillie showed up, suddenly it was relevant.  And I feel like every step since has been trying to make everyone better so Lillie is worse.  Lillie had serious, notable limitations, and SS Korrina doesn't seem nearly as limited by comparison.  Fantina and Shauntal are exceptional damage dealers on a cheaper budget, and Agatha is one of the best technical supports with Sleep and tremendous gauge control.  Renegade Cynthia as their Zone setter could be better, but has a lot of beneficial tools for her type as well.  Even for support, BP Morty and Lodge Morty are some of the best F2P pairs you can grab, while SC Lillie is the most efficient Sp Atk/Crit buffer around. While there are still some pairs that really struggle, Ghost is a type significantly improved, with a lot of viable options that compete.
6) Electric Electric was the forgotten child when I started playing.  The three great types of Fire, Water, and Psychic had their field effects, and were known for crazy offensive potential because of them.  But Electric also had one, dangit!  Why weren't they as relevant?  Well, it's because N had some glaring setup and gauge issues, and Marnie was a Tech with relatively limited DPS.  Electric Terrain had no one to big up.  Nowadays, Electric has the best sync pair in the game with SST Red, and the highest DPS by miles in Ash.  So why isn't it top 5? Because its F2P game still sucks.  Marnie and N got huge improvements, but when you look outside of premium?  Elesa's fine but not exceptional.  Hau, Sophocles, Surge, and BP Surge are all atrocious.  Volkner's fairly poor as a terrain setter, Hau's Buddy move makes his terrain much worse off, and SST Red is so stupid good that partners are optional.  The lower class in this type suck and need help, and their help is not helping.  Electric is a type that, to this day, when I opt for more F2P budget runs, is the type I hate facing most.  The options outside of premium are just so bad.  It's like dying for a good Lodge striker.
5) Psychic At this point, I want to preface by saying I play a certain way, and pick favorites based on utility.  Among the Three Great Types, Psychic fell off the hardest in the damage meta.  You know it's bad when Lear, a sync pair nearly two years old, is still like the best sync nuker.  Electric decisively has stronger options.  But. Psychic's F2P and general pool game is immaculate, and while they're on longer top performers, premium pairs still put in exceptional work.  Moreover, you have the blessing of Lucian, the supreme general pool unit, Giovanni's insane power, and Mesprit as the best Master BP pair.  Psychic maintains relevance, but I feel like it's on the cusp of slipping really hard if it doesn't step up its game.  Yes, C!Bede as the best support in the game is a massive win for it, but what it's really looking for as a specific archetype is the Terrain Supporter.  It wants its SS Morty.  So far we're getting Bianca, who's fine but falling off; Anni May, who's alright but got a bad expansion; and SS Lana, who frankly just makes CS conditions more annoying by removing the option for Physical Damage Reduction 8.  I think the Terrain setters have, over time, been revealed to be really bad.  They're far more focused on damage than utility, and it's to the type's detriment.
4) Water When I started, Water was the de facto best type.  Archie ruled the meta with an iron fist, and having both Roxanne and May in his corner just made the whole situation perfect.  It's been two years since those days, and in a meta with NC Serena and SS Lysandre, why do I think Water fell from grace?   Well, a few reasons.  While Water has one of the highest potential ceilings for damage, and some really standout performers...its F2P game kinda sucks ass.  No, I'm sorry, we need to talk about this.  Unless you have EX Siebold, F2P Water is handled by Cyrus, a Dragon.  Your actual Water pairs are garbage.  Lodge Rosa and Lodge Silver are terrible at their jobs.  Lodge May struggles ridiculously to compete.  Barry has really difficult sync conditions to fulfill.  Crasher Wake needs the foe to be flinched which is a death sentence.  Water lives and dies by its premium fare, and while that includes many a busted damage dealer and one of the best supports to ever do it, their floor is quite low.   Moreover, three Rain supports, and not one of them perfectly helps SS Grimsley.  Poor dude.  Water has a lot of support behind it, so it's definitely in the upper echelon of types.  But I think time and an evolving meta has made Water less versatile.  It's all high DPS premium stuff while anything below that seems to struggle without SS Kris' presence.
3) Fire Fire, as one of the Three Great Types with Water and Psychic, succeeded based on having a field effect that was easily accessed.  Only four types did, but Fire was considered one of the best, due to the routine application of some of the dumbest DPS units available in SS Red and Leon.  Fire never let up on that particular gas, producing constant offensive powerhouses with fairly efficient self-setup.  The reason I think Fire adapted better than Water, however, is that Fire has SS Morty.  See, Fire figured something out.  Instead of raw DPS and pumping that higher, Morty offers the alternative: I've got enough firepower, what I need is survival.   And they hired someone immortal.  Fire feels more versatile than Water now, and better able to handle the nonsense that's thrown their way.  Moreover, every Fire type, barring like Flint I guess, benefits from Morty.  There are Water types that don't mesh with Kris.  But every Fire type that doesn't cap crit, handles offense well enough.  And if they don't (Leon), Eevee Lucas filled the gap.  Fire is just...consistent and efficient and flexible.  I think they got it all down pat.  But they also don't reach the same plateau that Water does.  There's no obscene damage comp like Dual Frogs + SS Lysandre.  SS May is great, but not as good as Dojo Gloria.  Water one-ups Fire's damage, but I think Fire just offers better utility.
2) Grass Grass types recently went ballistic.  SS Lyra was the first popping off.  Not only did they get Grassy Terrain to finally join the field effect meta, but Lyra's guaranteed flinch rate with easy quad queue made literally anything viable, without Lyra completely overshadowing her teammates offensively.  Grass had some odds and ends additions, including the incredibly fun SC Rosa, but largely kinda held back as a consistent but decisively okay type.  And then SS Acerola showed up, and packed the most consistent physical DPS stacking you could imagine.  And now we got Adaman, who's offering absurd damage with no gauge cost, and permanent Sun.  Grass was already doing well, but it's exploded recently.  I think it's still in a position overall where it would really like some better special support, but it's hard to find fault with Grass.  Moreover, it carries the same general benefits as Psychic, thanks to a wide array of supporting tools.  Sleep Powder Ramos, Stall Master BP Erika, Gauntlet Master base Erika, SS Leaf's shenanigans going through the roof, SC Rosa's fascinating debuff combination.  Grass just offers a lot of value, and some generally unstoppable team compositions.
1) Dark But nobody is doing it like Dark.  For a while, Dark was one of my least favorite types.  You just had like nothing good to work with.  Nanu wasn't damage, BP Karen just died, base Karen struggled like hell, Grimsley was there.  But man, things have changed.  Not for Grimsley.   He's still a mess.  But like...SS Cyrus came in as a great disruptive tool with Zone.  He didn't specifically boost damage of allies, but the AoE sleep was valuable on literally any team, making him one of the better Zone setters.  Champion Calem then came in with tremendous benefits to the physical side of the type, while offering some support to special.  Then SC Zinnia came in, perfectly complemented his needs, and packed some of the funniest broken nonsense available, including shutting down all buffs for the enemy team for a duration, and a 70% flinch rate and zero gauge cost on unbuffed foes.  And of course, NC Marnie comes in with Ash-like survival, sacrificing his absurd Buddy move DPS for more consistent damage and a 50-60% flinch rate.  Dark is riding high, and it's incredibly hard to find a flaw in the type.  Even among F2P pairs, Nanu got an insanely good grid, base Karen popped off on her expansion and it turns out my fear around BP Karen was unfounded because damn she gets a job done.  Dark currently feels like the strongest and most well-rounded team composition.  It actually leads the sync damage leaderboard, though Dark-type NC Serena.  Dark's just been on a roll lately.

headcanon rapid fire because. i wanna post stuff about different muses and don't wanna spam your dash with multiple headcanon posts
under a read more bc. theres a lot.
itto, despite having coped well with how his life has been for the most part, has abandonment issues he won't even admit to. thankfully, the people he cares about aren't planning on leaving him any time soon, but there have been times when one of his gang members had to go off somewhere without telling him and he panicked more than you'd expect. he tried to play it off as him worrying about their safety, but that didn't exactly fly when it was shinobu who was gone.
collei is in a rough situation of being both touch starved and also being triggered by physical contact. this is where stuffed toys, especially cullein-anbar come in. even if she's not using her toy for attacks, she's using it for comfort, often holding it in her arms and cuddling it when she has the chance to.
blue has seen pretty much every canon (at least main-game) region at one point. why? well, he and red have been on a world tour at one point to see everywhere they could. this happened not long after he made up with his rival.
bede has a major sweet tooth, but he also likes caffeine far too much for someone of his age. whether he's drinking energy drinks or soda or overly-sweetened tea or coffee, he's usually drinking SOMETHING sweet and caffeine-laden. possibly is self-medicating for issues rose never got him checked out for.
avery could potentially develop his psychic powers more, and is actually working on it, but his powers are more accurately specialized differently than most of his family. while his family has flashy powers like teleportation and super strong telekinesis and creating illusions, avery's naturally better at more subdued stuff like understanding pokemon's thoughts (as well as generally being empathic in the psychic sense) and occasionally getting precognitive dreams. this does not help his self loathing about not being good enough.
brassius often likes taking long walks to get inspiration, sometimes in very odd places. if you find him in some far-reaching part of paldea where hardly anyone is, or just anywhere he logically wouldn't be normally? he's probably just trying to get ideas for his next work of art.
iono has major empathy issues, specifically in the sense of not being able to feel what others are feeling in an emotional sense. still, she's trying! one thing that's personally helped her is relying more on cognitive empathy than the typical emotional empathy that most have. while she's still not the best at it, and often has to take a step back to think through what her and others are feeling, it's at least helped her from being TOO much of a jerk.
grusha has osteoarthritis in quite a few joints from his accident, as well as some nerve issues that come from those joints being damaged. it's worst in his knees and his right shoulder. some of his fellow gym leaders have tried convincing him to move his gym operations elsewhere for the sake of his chronic pain, but unfortunately, grusha is nothing if not stubborn.
dendra didn't actually plan on going into teaching in classes! she had initially planned on becoming more of a personal battle tutor, teaching more one-on-one lessons. but hearing miriam talk so enthusiastically about teaching classes made her realize she could create more of a change by teaching an entire class at once. she's still struggling to stay on a time schedule with her classes, though, as she always figured she could fit in more time if need be. but the academy ain't having that!
jotaro has always struggled with opening up to people, but it only got worse after the incident in egypt. he'll often close up all emotions from others until it gets to a tipping point and he breaks down. he'll try to hide these breakdowns from others, but if you're close enough to him, he'll often hold them back until he can be in private with you. hardly anyone has this trust from him, though.
mikitaka has VERY poor coordination. stumbling, struggling with fine movements, and running face-first into things aren't uncommon for him. if asked to explain himself on this, if you're in on his little secret, he'll admit it's because he's still not used to his human form. and regularly transforming into other things means he has fewer chances to practice his motor control.
fugo often has bad depression bouts after his worst anger outbursts. he'll often blame himself for whatever he did, even if it was justified or if he managed to reign himself in, and there's a lot of negative self-talk, including calling himself a monster. team bucciarati often helped him with these. in times after he left them? he really doesn't know what to do on his own.
melone's sleep schedule is WAY off-kilter. between drug use and general unmedicated mental health conditions, he sometimes stays up for multiple days at a time before sleeping for 12 or more hours multiple days in a row. he claims he doesn't see any issue with it since he's so productive on his sleepless nights, but he does wish he knew ways to get out of that loop.
doppio is actually very physically affectionate if you're close to him and have his permission! the question though, is who, if anyone, is close enough for him to do that? the answer is, as of now, nobody. so usually he'll just cuddle pillows at night to compensate for wanting that physical affection.
diavolo has only felt love once. he hasn't even felt it for his own family, whether his father or his daughter. but donatella was the one person he regretted having to turn on. the one person he regretted losing. this is the only reason he abandoned her instead of killing her. he couldn't take away the one good thing from the world, in his mind, even if he still felt he couldn't let her into his inner world.

just finished s2 and finally met Jon-El!
rip to whoever the writer for this season was but I'm different. Au in my head where Jon-El's horrified "I've never killed anyone before" actually mattered in the show, the Kents managed to convince him that he wasn't broken and he didn't have to keep doing things he didn't want to do, and suddenly have triplets instead of twins <3
Even if the show didn't go down that path it's absolutely absurd that Jon-El didn't start poking at Jon's insecurities and all the ways the Kents had failed him to try getting Jon to merge! Especially if Jon-El was manipulating Jon not out of a place of malice, but because he genuinely believed that merging could "heal" both of them. That could have been so interesting to see on screen! And that's just the tip of the iceberg; as an angst writer myself, I can think of so many amazing plotlines and arc ideas for Jon-El and I'm genuinely baffled that the writers didn't try to pursue any of them.
But anyway, love Jon-El, and he can commit all the crimes he wants because he's amazing and has all the rights <3
and on an unrelated note: CLARK LITERALLY LEFT JON DOING *CHORES* WHILE HE AND JORDAN WENT TO WORK ON POWERS??
Taking a billion points of psychic damage from that alone, but then Clark never actually talked to Jon when he was upset about it?? AHFDKJHADSKJFHSAKJFHKSBG. absolutely murdered me. okay. I genuinely cannot get over the way Clois acted, mostly around Jon but there were some bad moments with Jordan too; their lack of parenting skills this season left a really bad taste in my mouth at so many parts. I might have to rewatch s1 to remind myself why I liked them at all in the first place tbh
Anyway, I'm glad that this season gave us sweet moments between Jon, Jordan, and Nat. I'd love to see more of the three of them being chaotic siblings in the future.
You just described the perfect ending 😭
I wanted to see Clark trying to save Jon-El from his self-destruction so badly. He only tried once to get Jon-El to see what he was doing was wrong and it was a lame attempt at that.
And really why should have Jon-El believed Clark? He's currently being manipulated by a cult leader who's so strong she has a hold over thousands of ADULTS, who he sees as a person who truly cares about him, and has most likely been emotionally abused by a man who looks just like Clark. Of course he's not listening or caring about Clark's attempt that was pretty much just "hey you're bad right now, but if join me and you'll be good". But considering Clark can't even talk to or understand his Jon, it's not a surprise he can't reach Jon-El, who's just a darker parallel of his son.
Also I just wanna say that Jon-El's "I never killed anyone before" line reminded me so much of Gar's "I bit him" line AND THAT SHIT HURT.
Jon-El was done so dirty storyline wise, they took this tragic and complex character and turned him into Jordan's villain of the week to beat up. He didn't even get a proper send off, he just got beat up in a school gym and that was it. Never see or hear from him again. Such a waste of a character.
I don't think him wanting to merge was ever out of malice in canon. He did genuinely believe merging would fix him, that's what Ally made him believe. She made him see himself as broken and without purpose, told him he'll only be fixed/healed if he merges with Jon, so he saw Jon as the last thing that would save him and wouldn't let anything or one get in his way. Jon was a lighthouse in a raging storm to him.
And as badly as I think Jon-El wanted to merge, I just want to point out that after rewatching his episodes a few times I noticed there was many times Jon-El could have killed the Kents but he didn't even though they were keeping him from Jon. He never threatens his bizarro family with death either, only tells them to disappear.
I think he has no problem throwing punches as warning or threat to stay out of his way but killing his family? even if they aren't his family. I don't think that's a line he could cross. If did have no problem crossing that line he would have killed Clark with the kryptonite shard but he didn't, he left him there with Lana who he had to know could have saved Clark before he died.
I agree 100% I support Jon-El's rights and wrongs <3 but also want him to go to therapy and heal.
Clois' parenting damaged me in so many ways in season 2. It was such a huge mess. Even the official S&L insta joked about Clark ditching Jon to spend time with Jordan instead which isn't funny. Especially after a scene where it seemed like Jon was hinting at having concerning thoughts.
Such a weird season with an even weirder storyline.

One Piece Chapter 1067 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
So we have an early one today thanks to translations showing up earlier
Fresh off of some Ancient Kingdom and Ohara reveals we jump into the next chapter with further intrigue on what lore we'll get next. We've met every Vegapunk but soon conflict is bound to take place.
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release
So it seems that Judge and Caesar aren't on good terms, since their first encounter since MADS is to throw hands
Like I predicted, Vegapunk did basically cut down his brain to reduce his head size
Turns out beforehand his head was so big he was the size of a giant
And the reason is a Devil Fruit, he makes it clear that he was still a genius at birth, but it seems the fruit (Nomi Nomi no Mi, I think the first time he tried he bit his tongue) allows him to have an eidetic memory too
Chopper of course is interested as a fellow Doctor, asking if Vegapunk is strong as well
Luffy meanwhile does ask an intriguing point though; if he cut his brain, doesn't that make him dumb now?
Vegapunk however seems to take offense to that, calling the son of his friend 'damn brat' now
Turns out the apple head isn't just a fashion choice, it's an antenna
I knew they kept showing 'PUNK RECORDS' for a reason, turns out that gigantic egg is actually Vegapunk's brain!
The antenna psychically connects, uploads and downloads data to his head, and his other satellites too
'Is that a ninja move!?' well...no, but also yes, depends if you have the Rinnegan and six dead bodies...
Each Satellite is also an expert in a certain field (I did get that feeling too given how Lilith was working on mechs but Atlas on amenities)
Once a day it appears that they synchronize their experiences and knowledge into Punk Records
Naturally the mechanics are flying over Luffy's head, at least this time he's not entirely alone in that regard
It would appear as well that Vegapunk has ambitions to share this brain network with others, creating a 'sea of knowledge'
Chopper likes the idea but Jinbe does wonder the repercussions of Punk Records being able to access your brain directly
It's time though for Bonney to pop off, though I kinda expected her to go guns (well, laser sword) blazing though I guess she does also want to see if Kuma's mind can be restored
Jinbe tries to talk her down but Vegapunk is worried about the laser sword's after-effect
It attracts bugs, which apparently Bonney is scared of which makes her freak out
Oh Luffy and his beetles, Bonney's a bit catatonic right now to appreciate his find, at least the beetle itself is happy
Vegapunk does seem regretful towards the Bonney situation, but also relieved that she used a 'failed product'
He also asks about the rumor that there was another Dragon in Wano, confirming that it was his artificial Devil Fruit made from Kaido's lineage factor from 20 years of funding
Joyboytheories strikes again, Vegapunk deems Momo's fruit a failure because it's Pink, meaning the laser sword is likely a failure because it attracts bugs too
Very lucky the WG never asked why he deemed anything a failure or else they'd be sitting on an army of Power Rangers-themed Dragon fruit users
Luffy then decides to ask Vegapunk to activate the mecha, but Vegapunk states that he never built it, it attacked Marejois 200 years ago, but was made over 900 years ago
'Attacked' may not be accurate though, since Vegapunk goes on to note that it didn't damage anything due to a lack of energy, and they don't know what it was made for or made to do, let alone where it came from
Nevertheless, the WG wanted it destroyed, but curious scientists instead hid it, the WG still don't know it's here either
Jinbe's got a pensive look though
It appears that the mech is also what Shaka was showing the other members of the crew
Turns out that 200 years is also the time since discrimination against Fishmen started, it's possible that they believed Fishman Island connected to the mech and felt it climbed the Red Line much like Tiger would later do
Shaka tells the group that they built the Vega Force based off of this mech, but they couldn't make everything because they don't know its power source
The crew also get filled in about Bonney, think it's Usopp who recognizes her but it could be someone behind the group
Love that Luffy's go-to for Vegapunk reminding him that Bonney has a reason to be pissed at him is 'say you're sorry'
But Vegapunk is back to being vague again, lamenting about not giving her something
He also asks Luffy a request: to get him out of the island!
I mean, I can see the reasons but if he leaves doesn't he go braindead? How big is the range on Punk Records?
CP0 are here at the island, and they've already taken out one of the Vega Force beasts
Seems CP0 also know that Bonney's there, but Lucci wants to kill her since she no longer has use
The Satellites are alerted by CP0's presence, including Lucci - which does render the mask redundant
Lilith, being evil and by the sounds of things an agent of drama, wants to let Lucci in, though the group have objections given the Enies Lobby flashbacks
Shaka though pulls his Punk 01 duties though, they ain't letting CP0 in willingly
Things are going down at the Kambakka kingdom too though; Kuma has activated
Lindbergh was repairing him thus the metal appendages but he seems to be on the move, dragging the machines with him
Kuma won't respond where he's going though (doesn't seem to be using his DF either) which causes Dragon and Iva to be on edge about his motivations
Another break now too -_-
Another lore based chapter now with us tying in Fishmen to whatever this mech is. Given that it appeared 200 years ago it rules out it being armour for Oars, since he died 500 years ago.
I'm kinda mixed on Vegapunk being DF-powered to an extent, it's true it's not the reason for his intelligence but it does undermine it a little, he's also shown to be pedantic on what counts as a success or failure, which may end up turning in the Straw Hats' favour if they end up picking up some 'failed' products. The reveal that his brain is the giant egg is a clever one though, even if 'psychic waves' is a bit dodgy.
CP0's presence looks to activate the conflict portion of the arc, given how Shaka won't let them in it's going to end up being a fight between Punks and CP0, I would be a little concerned about Lilith though given how she wants them to come. All the while there's also the concern that the stella body may go out of range for Punk Records too, hard to know if getting him off the island means his brain as well, also we need to know why.
In addition to this I do kinda have the slight fear now that SWORD and Tashigi were just one-off appearances, I still hope not obviously but if CP0 are already here there'd need to be a reason to compel them to come to Egghead as well, maybe they get a distress call or info from Drake, heck we don't even know if Smoker's at that base, Egghead or back at G-5 yet either maybe he could alert them.
Which finally continues on with Kuma, his wordless reaction does leave a big question mark over his destination; marejois, Bonney, wherever he left his trusty bible? His mouth is smoking as well maybe there's something to that too?
Nevertheless, Oda's gonna make us wait extra to find out, maybe next chapter we'll get Zoro and Brook doing something too, given how much we've put them out of the loop.

Hey, why the hell aren't you watching Fuuto PI right now!? ...oh, haha, right, you're listening to me talk about Pretty Cure. Haha, sorry, I didn't realize, haha~!
It'd be a real rude thing to do not to check in on our Delicious Partiers, yeah? What sort of wacky adentures do you have for us today, Pretty Cures? ...ohhhhh, 23, this is the one with Kokone's parents. ...this should be interesting, right?
Spoilers, I guess...
-Yuin, good evening! It's sauce time.
-Lost in the sauce with Ranchi.
-Koko-neechan! You're the star of this episode~!
-I don't know if I've ever mentioned this, but one of the funniest anime tropes ever is when a mom looks only like five years older than their kids, maximum. Now I'm not saying that this is a real bad thing, but like, even by anime mom standards, Mrs. Fuwa seems like she just willed herself to forever be in her early-mid twenties.
Kokone: "My parents raised me to be a lone wolf. I can take care of myself." Amane: "But like... don't you get lonely like that?" Kokone: "...maybe."
-"Mama?" Ohhhhh, my heart! Kokone, you're killin' me here!
-Hatsuko-san...
-Meet the Parents. That's one of my favorite Ben Stiller movies.
-I do my sauce like that too.
-...man, Hatsuko has a very lovely design.
-"Huh... my daughter never smiles like that."
-Oh, hello Daddy- er, Daddy- er... Shosei-san.
-Hey now Kokone, be glad he didn't mistake it for wine.
-...though then again, could you chug it?
-"Oh fuck, soup. That's as good as water in my book!"
-...man, this is so awkward.
-Awwww, Kokone-chan... :(
-Hug her, Pamu!
-At least they're trying to reconnect, that's a good thing.
-...after 47 episodes of Revice, I don't think I can really take much more family-related psychic damage.
-Yeah, having similar interests would help, huh?
-...Ran, what the fuck are you implying about Amane?
-Ah c'mon Kokone, you were a little kid. We all did shit like that at that age!
-Oh, her aunt just happened to be there, huh?
-"Don't bully your parents."
-No doughnuts.
-Kokone Fuwa took a thing she was lightly scolded for super seriously, and
-...yep, that's an autistic child alright. Welcome to the club, Blue Dog Gal.
-She got the bottle after all.
-...man, that's nice :)
-Grandma Nagomi once said... "Angels descend during meals. Therefore, it's a sacred time."
-Secretoru checkin' the Ubau-zo catalogue. What will she order?
-Godatz is very disappointed in you two.
-Aww, he was concerned :)
-He's still pretty evil though, so...
-"Let's eat the doughnut holes together... as closure :)"
-Oishi~!
-Recipoppy Pipopapo
-The Genius Taster.
-Wonderful!
-"Ohhhhhhh, balls~!"
-...Doughnut holes?
-Makin' it personal by messing with her mom, huh Narshe?
-Yeah that's my new kinda insulting nickname for him. Just like the mining town of Narshe in Final Fantasy VI, he's cold, the site of some real memory issues and thievery, a pain in the ass to deal with later when you've gotten to know your party, probably has a giant snail, some Moogles, and a super-strong yeti locked away somewhere...
-...oh yeah, there's a big rolling pin and... pumpy thing.
-I... don't think I've ever seen one of those.
-Wow, Pamu's unfolded state looks... weird, I just realized jhkklj
Narshe: I will make you proud of me so you will call me your little pogchamp, Godatz-sama!
Finale: only saw z who dat?
Narshe: SHUT UP! GET ROLLING PINNED, IDIOT!
-Noooo, Spicy!
-Oh hey, it's the mysterious black pepper man.
-Go for it, Koko-neechan!
-"I will lay down my life, if it means protecting the doughnuts."
-Damn, putting those heels to good use, huh gals?
-What even were you, Motto Ubau-zo?
-"Aw man... I'm not gonna be Godatz-sama's little pogchamp..."
-Dad!
-Awww, he knew!
-Shush, Pamu. This is a moment.
-Eat them doughnut holes!
-Yeaaah, reconnect!
-That was nice :)
-Sammiches, Spicy-style.
-That's a cute smile :)
-Yeah, that's nice.
-Mmmm... Orange Juice...
-Yeah, that was a fun episode. ...I realize that perhaps this isn't my most interesting liveblog series, but this is just a very fun and lovely time!
-THE GIRLS ARE FIGHTINGGGG
-"Kome-Kome Sucks! And So Does This Pizza Party!"
-DON'T BULLY THE FOX BABY
-Okay, you're dismissed~! ...GO WATCH FUUTO PI RIGHT NOW YOU MOTHERFU-

Fresh(?) Impressions (11)
Other parts: |Trickstar| |UNDEAD| |2wink| |Ra*bits| |Akatsuki| |fine| |Ryuseitai| |Knights| |Valkyrie| |Switch| |MaM/Double Face/Crazy:B| |Eden| |Alkaloid|
----------------------------------------------
Hello Enstarries~☆ The most very likely longest post I've ever posted on this hellsite (affectionate) is here! I'll rate MaM, Double Face & Crazy:B (not in this exact order) and it should be obvious I'll only show one picture per character except for two. It would probably be better to show their whole outfit but I wanna use their cards for the aesthetic. I'm actually procrastinating rn bc I still have so many days left to do in the current event (Intersecting Motorshow) but the repidigit mission is causing me psychic damage. I'll come back to it later.....Oh and my wrist is still killing me 😭 It's actually both of my wrists now....
DISCLAIMER!: Everything said here is for entertainment purposes only and not meant to attack anyone. This is not an accurate description of any characters but my subjective rambling for fun, so please don't take it too seriously. (Just to be safe, I'm kinda scared of elite idol fans) Also, you will hear me mention other games a bunch of times bc I'm that bad and uncreative at explaining and I'm still grieving A3!EN's shutdown. Eng is my 2nd (or 3rd?) language so there might be some weird grammar or spelling mistakes. And I write at 3 am usually.
Without further ado.....Let's Ensemble~☆
----------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
By the time I am writing this part.....it is unfortunately not high noon; it's 9pm right now!!! Interesting to see one guy being a w h o l e unit by himself. I was always confused why there's just one guy but eh whatever. No idea where the idea of spreading hope, positivity, motivation and cowboys intersect but if it works 🤷‍♀️ I can't say I like his outfit bc cowboys aren't my thing but he looks decent enough. The colors especially fit him very well but that's to be expected, considering there's only 1 guy to tailor the outfit to. The red piece of fabric on his waist is a very nice pop off in terms of colors & sillouette. Btw is that brown strap on his trousers the gun holder? Inconvenient placement but it would be very cool if the gun is an actual part of his outfit lol. Now comes the sad part, I don't vibe to his songs I've heard yet in the game. There is smth that makes me unrationally irritated and angry???? He's just cheering us up and encouraging us but I just don't like his songs for some reason? Sorry man 😣
5.5/10 - I think it's the first time the music brought the rating down
Madara Mikejima
Tumblr media
Howdy boiiiiiiiiiiiii I feel so bad 🥲 He seems like a genuinely good guy. I mean, I did hear smth about him lowkey gaslighting Anzu into thinking they're childhood friends to get closer to Trickstars somehow but I don't think it could have been so bad. I hope. He really wants to spread ~good vibes~ and all and is adamant in being true to himself and his fans. Going after his own beat so to say. A strong boy. Another rich boy apparently???? Which I didn't see coming at all, though he doesn't really care much about that anyways. A very healthy boy. Like, carrying a 17-18 y/o girl is still taking a lot of power and energy even if she's only 50ish kg. And he went quite a while from what I get in his Ep.1. The absolute confidence this guy has to just become a solo performer amidst all these groups. Ik inside the world there are obv other soloists but he radiates confidence one way or another. Initially, I thought it was just the fandom making him out to be the mom friend bc of his unit name and personality but he actually says it himself 😶 I get the feeling others tend to underestimate or are intimidated by him due to his self-assured and almost over-friendly attitude, which he makes use of very well. He's the perfect example of charismatic. I am pretty sure he's also quite popular with mothers, grannies and children. Kinda like Chiaki in a lot of aspects. He looks pretty good. He's falling perfectly into my preference of brown haired green-eyed 2D guys so that checks out. His voice is also pretty nice. It's smooth, rich but still somehow airy like.......liverwurst (I had to google this word and, like, I didn't expect it to be a literal translation from the german one, very very tasty btw). There's still smth nnnggghh about it, though only minimal.
7/10 - kinda intimidating extrovert but definitely looking forward to learn more about him
Tumblr media
Ah yes, another one of my fav units musically. They just sound so DAMN AMAZING!!! No idea what genre they tend to go but it's wild and fun and makes me just lose myself. There is not a single song I dislike, literally every song is a banger in one way or another. They all sound good together and just !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd keyboardsmash but I think you get it already. If I were forced to chosse favs, I'd say Crazy Roulette and PARANOIA STREET but all songs are really good. It was when I watched their MVs when I noticed how long their torsos and tiny their waists are. I like their uniforms very much as well. There are 2 variants with slight differences and everyone wears individual accessories, which is a bit like Ra*bits and obv makes me weak. It looks like a stylish everyday outfit, if not a bit fancy but it fits the theme of freedom and fun. Black and white are always safe options to go with but it's not boring at all with the different prints, the little bit of other colors and the bling overall. The bee brooches are soooo cute and just make the outfit 10x better. The buttons are shaped like honeycombs!! Honestly, it's probably one of the best regular unit outfits in the game, for me ofc. No idea about the group dynamic but I know that everyone is kinda wild and weird and not a single normal person is in this group, which might not seem much in this game but I mean, I can't even see them functioning with each other but at the same time it's kinda obv they just do whatever and it somehow works??? As I've said, officially, I've only read their Ep.1. And with the memes (and therefore random spoilers), that's kinda the vibe I get. That and I saw a twitter post on tumblr listing their canon crimes, which I shouldn't trust blindly ofc but there's that. I guess it's in the name. Kinda cute how they're bees though. You'd think they'd go for cooler animals like idk leopards or dogs or smth and not little bees but it's a fun novelty.
9/10 - I wanna gobble those bumblebees
Rinne Amagi
Tumblr media
A runaway ex-monarch, now where have I heard that before???? Well, Citron (A3!) eventually got back, gave up the throne and peace somehow happened with everyone but I don't think that's the case for this guy here. I don't know much more about his past except, that he's Hiiro's brother and they lived in a remote conervative village. I can definitely see, that he used to be smn important with how he acts. He seems very carefree, lax and rough around the edges but he is in no way stupid and actually pretty sharp, I think. I couldn't fully concentrate when I was reading his Ep.1 bc 1. it was midnight and 2. he talks like a radio host or game commenter 😂 Talks a LOT and very lively. I already knew he had a good as in attractive but yeah also good singing voice but holy did his normal talking voice catch me off guard. It was very...👀 To put it in my unique descriptions....idk man. No words, it's a bit more difficult bc he goes up and down a lot, it's a very nice kind of deeper voice, though. He'd tell the best stories for children. I guess it's comparable to a nice quiet day at the beach with a bit of wind. Not too sunny or too hot. Unsurprisingly, he's obsessed with thrills and new things too, I'd say. Probably stems from the fact, that he used to live a set path in his zraditonal village. Likes gambling and considers even marriage gambling, which isn't wrong. Nothing in life is set in stone, after all. I did hear he can be kind of an asshole and self-absorbed, which is also not surprising. His vibe kinda gave it off. Very likely impulsive and does not think things through 80% of the time, which makes him not stupid but stupid. Fun person to watch but not to hang around with. I feel like he'd drag you in his problems regularly. I don't think he can cook or do basic household chores so how did he survive alone then??? He didn't get scouted immediately, right? He can clean the toilet at max. Btw. he has a pretty good sense of fashion for smn who's pretty new to urban life. He also has certain charm to him and looks kinda good. Oh and he seems like he's in his 20s, which makes me question why he calls us Nee-san. "Miss" would be more appropriate, no?
7/10 - interesting fun guy but I'm preparing myself for the coming headaches
HiMERU
Tumblr media
So mean of him to let i be the only small letter :( Or is it some symbolism? Ok, so straight up, I heard he's impersonating for his younger hospitalized brother, which is why he always refers to himself as "HiMERU" and not in first person. If I remember correctly ofc. Now, that already goes to show he cares greatly for his brother but also that he has determination of steel bc who would go through so much trouble wth. And the thing with acting as close as the original Himeru is just.....😧 Why would he do that? Does he actually care for him, or was he somehow forced to do it? He seems pretty chill, obv very secretive and relatively distant, to no one's surprise. He's also polite but can roast you without you even noticing. Maybe I'm just being judgemental but he might also be more cold. His hair looks like bedhair but the good "I woke up like this" ⭐ variant Nonetheless, he should probably get those strands down and away from his face. Black goes very well with him for some reason. His voice sounds so seductive when he sings but is pretty calm and rather quiet otherwise. It's not weak, though, and rather like a sturdy bench but with ventilation since it's also a bit airy.
6/10 - there's a lot to uncover but I'm in no hurry to find out
Kohaku Oukawa
Tumblr media
I'm having difficulties telling his and Niki's singing voices from each other apart. It's so stupid considering how often I listened to the songs but their differences are not that noticable and both fit. Kohaku's normal talking voice is very easily recognizable, on the other hand. In Crazy:B at least. It's similiar to Mika and Shinobu but he has a less stretchy speech pattern (M) and his voice is deeper (S). He sings pretty decent. Not 100% sure what's up with him but wasn't he some assassin or smth? He seems too friendly and normal to be one. I almost wanted to ask what one would even do here but that's a stupid question 🤦‍♀️ He seems to have family problems. I heard somewhere that he likes sweets as well so....Welcome to the club💖!!! I sure hope he's open for all kinds of sweets around the world. I thought he'd be more grumpy and serious but he's a normal amount of that. I like his hair and eye color. It's the same combination as Shu's but I like it on him more. Probably bc I like his hair more and he just looks friendlier.
7/10 - sympathetic dude fr
Niki Shiina
Tumblr media
I see a lot of :P from him. Is the bit about his condition about being less able to absorb nutrients true? That would suck man. Being hungry 20/7 sounds like a nightmare. What also sounds like a nightmare is cannibalism, which I sure hope is just a misnderstanding or misinformation bc wtf. Anyways, aside from that, he can cook! Plus point here already. Trust goes through the stomach after all. Talks similiarly to Rinne but more playfully. His voice reminds me of fresh citrus fruits. Seems diligent (for the sake of food) and is pretty cheerful (unless there's no food). Mans got his priorities straight of retiring as an idol if it strains his physical and therefore mental well-being. Must be a bit of a pushover if he got talked into becoming an idol of all possibilities. I mean, it's obv they can't eat a lot and have to work hard to stay in shape and sing well. I thought he'd be more reserved and uh normal bc malewife material and memes portrayed him as the one who cleans up the chaos. Maybe, my memory is pretty hazy on that regard. I like his appearance. Pretty hair, blep, kinda cute.
7/10 - kinda like and curious about him
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember how I said the typical idol outfit is inspired by imperialistic european military uniforms? I guess it's taken literally here but more shifted to the 20th century. I have no idea what the theme is supposed to be. I did see that they were called executioners when I picked the cards from the wikia but is that it? Back to the clothes, they look good! You can't go wrong with suits and gloves. It's with darker grim colors (pretty sure they're from Madara's MaM outfit) which fits to executioners. The sherrif star is a bit funny but I guess it works as a medal here. What puzzles me is the puzzle piece on their belts. Are they also seekers or smth? The harness??? or how they're called on Madara sure give the extra spice along with the ¾ sleeves, that leave a bit of room for peeking skin. And the magically hanging coat gives him the a bossy feel. Kohaku on the other hand resumes the role of being the cuter one out of the two and has cool cape-shirt to his shorts and overknee boots. The asymmetry of the top makes it more interesting to look at and shifts the focus on the basically only patch of light color on his outfit. He looks like Madara's assistant or second-in-command, not that there are others.
I don't think the group exists yet bc 1. it's not shown anywhere in-game and 2. Kohaku is a new character after all and just got introduced to be part of Crazy:B (I think, I haven't read the story yet). It will probably be formed later on for some reason. It doesn't seem like he left the other unit like Nazuna left Valkyrie. The music can be pretty good. It's more serious sounding compared to what they usually sing and it sometimes reminds me of these cool cinematic chase scenes in oldie movies.
7.5/10 - dunno what's up but I'll look forward to more or actually seeing it formed Ig
----------------------------------------------
Conclusion
Sry to any MaMPs here, I guess the positive songs are too pure and burn my dark soul away or smth along that. Maybe Madara is mermaid prince and his songs are effective against me, an evil fish (Mermaid Melody reference that nobody gets bc barely anyone knows it :,)). Crazy:B got pulled like crazy high through their songs but they're also pretty balanced on their own.
It is now 5 over half 6 am and I already completed the event before starting Crazy:B's part. I am literally so close to simply drifting off to dreamland. I tried to look out for any mistakes but I don't think I found them all. I'm gonna do the rest this week no matter what.
If you wanna share smth just write away with the limit being respectful boundaries and the knowledge, that everything here is just for fun and games! See ya'll later~☆

Welcome back to my Pokemon Legends Arceus nuzlocke run. Today's entry is where things started to go wrong.
Part 5: Heartbreak
It should come as no surprise to those who have been following along that if Goop is staying on the team, he needs to train. I use this time to catch more pokemons, and slowly, but surely, get Goop fully evolved and ready to go. Was kind of fun, having the full team hanging out at night in the rain so Goop could evolve (Goop snoozing in his shell, Lilith asleep on Kodiak, Azure and LadyRidge curled up beside me, and Adapt awake staying on guard because of course an Umbreon is awake at night). He's a force of nature, and hopefully will be useful in the days to come.
The Icelands are pretty, I'll give you that, and the team, though a bit somber from TimeLord's death, is ready to go. I took this a bit slower, enjoying hanging out with my pokemon, including a fun moment where several of us relaxed in a hot sauna. It was a good time, maybe the last good time. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
I met Gaeric and Sabi, and defeated Gaeric without too much trouble. Started chasing Sabi across the map, and she led me to the Snowpoint Temple. Azure had been feeling a bit left out after the Electrode battle, so he rushed ahead, taking care of much of the pokemon on the first floor, though he overstepped himself and Adapt had to save him from a Golbat.
Solving the puzzles one at a time, I reach the top, and come across the Gallade. If you don't know, a lvl 70 Alpha Gallade guards the top of the Temple, and if I have to fight it, it will be bad. I think I can sneak past, but a Kirlia spawned with the Gallade, and I need to get rid of it so it doesn't alert the Gallade.  I wait till the Gallade is on the far side, away from the Kirlia, and throw out Lilith to quickly and quietly take it out.
What happens next is probably the worst luck I've had in this game… cause somehow, that Gallade joined the battle.
I have no idea how this happened - I made sure the Gallade was far away, I didn't alert it, I hit the Kirlia before it noticed me. But the Gallade still joined the battle, and it outsped Lilith and immediately hit her with a Strong Style Psychic. She was dead mere seconds from leaving her ball.
I leave the battle and try to run, but Gallade does his triggered Alpha attack, blowing me into a corner, and then runs forward to strike me again. My screen is red, the next hit kills me, and I'm trapped.
I paused the game here and thought about my options. I had no good ones. Azure was in the red, Lilith was dead. The Gallade's psychic will kill LadyRidge, and its fighting moves could do serious damage to Goop, Kodiak, and definitely kill an already wounded Adapt. I have no good options. Kodiak has the best bulk and defense of my group, so I decide she's probably my best bet. My next decision is to use a Strong style move or not. If it doesn't one shot the Gallade, it will get two attacks on Kodiak, which will definitely kill her. I have to risk a normal move, and hope Kodiak doesn't get one shot as well.
And I chose wrong.
Kodiak's move drops the Gallade to the red, and I realize that a Strong style would have killed it. As I make that realization, the Gallade uses a Strong Style Close Combat that crits, and Kodiak falls. Goop races forward to finish it off, as I fall to the ground in shock. Lilith and Kodiak, the girl bosses, are both gone.
I'm panicking now, because I know what's next. What's next is a 3v1 battle that I was counting on Kodiak to handle. Sabi sends out her Rhyperior, Magmorter, and Electivire, and I send out Goop. Goop kills the Magmorter quickly, but takes serious damage, so I swap to Adapt. She takes out the Electivire, but the Rhyperior gets her to the red as well, so LadyRidge comes out to finish the fight. Now, just gotta take out Braviary. My only pokemon not in the red is LadyRidge, but she's at a huge type disadvantage, so I'm forced to bring out Adapt again. Adapt gets a Dark Pulse off, and by some miracle the Braviary tries to use a psychic move, which doesn't affect Adapt. I beat the Braviary, defeated the temple, but… at a huge cost.
I take a few days off, as losing Lilith and Kodiak really messed with me. When I come back, I decide to train Justice, a Rufflet to the team, only for it to die as well. I'm about ready to take another break, but I decide to instead to pick up Cranky, an alpha Infernape I was able to catch, and Batgirl, a Gligar. I trained a bunch, but I could tell the team was off. Kodiak and Lilith had been core members, Lilith was even on the original 6. But we trained, and were ready to fight Avalugg. The team's levels:
Azure (Samurott), lvl 63
Adapt (Umbreon), lvl 64
LadyRidge (Lilligant), lvl 65
Goop (Goodra), lvl 60
Cranky (Alpha Infernape), lvl 68
Batgirl (Gligar), lvl 60
I go into this fight, dodging and throwing balms. LadyRidge comes out, and I decide to risk a Victory Dance. LadyRidge gets knocked to the red by the Avalugg, but then she Drain punches it and knocks it out. I begin the dodging again, but it hits me, and the black lines begin to creep in. Cranky jumps in, but misses a close combat, leaving him open, and the Avalugg Strong styles a ground move, killing Cranky. Nonononononono. Goop comes out to finish it. It's back to me, and immediately I get hit again. I'm in the red, but I don't care. For Lilith, Kodiak, Justice, and Cranky, I'm finishing this, and go full offensive. Right before I would be hit, my last balm finishes it, and it's over. I'm battered, mentally crushed, and about to enter the end-game.
Yay.
Icelands completed.

August 11th, 1997 (again?)
Mind In a Net (I’m Still Drowning)
Somewhere Else Under the King
In this entry, we see exactly what happened to Claire to cause such a strong reaction:
Claire steps into the STP offices, files tucked securely in her arm and coffee in hand. Another Monday’s come, and for most that might be reason to grouse, but she can’t find it in her to complain too much. Trilby should be back today, and that means he’s taking the Blackwood case off her hands. Granted, she’s already finished the menial government bits of that job. She knows she looks the part for that sort of office work, all skirt suit, black heels, half-moon glasses, and hair pulled into a stern bun, but her actual title is psychic investigator for a reason.
It’s frustrating, working on a case with an uncooperative subject. But she’s a professional, after all, with training and a functional understanding of ethics. Even if she could just pry open Martin’s brain and fish out all the information she needs for his sudden appearance in Jackson Lovelace’s garden, she won’t without his consent. There would have to be some pretty extreme circumstances for her to do it regardless of his wishes, and this case is unlikely to have that.
“Good morning, Jim,” she greets when she’s made it outside her door.
“Mornin’, Claire,” Jim calls back from his desk in the bullpen. “Y’know the coffee machine’s fixed, right?”
“Can you really tell the difference?” she asks before taking a sip of her cafe au lait. “Besides, What’s Brew? is on my way.”
Jim sighs, and Claire knows it doesn’t take a mind reader to see that he’s wishing he thought of that himself. “Remind me to head there for lunch.”
Claire smiles at him before shifting her things to free up a hand. “Are you sure?” she asks as she opens her office door. “You might get drafted into gofer duty.”
“I’m not gonna say no to the fresh air or good coffee,” Jim says.
With that, Claire heads inside her office and settles in for her day, keeping her door open. She might want to chat with Jim, and it won’t be long before her appointment to turn the Blackwood case over.
-
Claire looks up from her computer screen when she hears a knock at her door. She can already partially see Martin, so she gives him a smile and calls, “Come in.”
He steps inside, and it’s something of a relief both to see him on his feet and his arm out of the sling. Even if he still looks miserable, he looks less miserable than he did when she first met him in the hospital. The suit helps with that, too, though that brings up the question of why Lovelace would splurge on getting a suit for this man he doesn’t really know. Not that she’s going to complain about Martin’s appearance, but Lovelace’s motives can be pursued later.
“Mister Blackwood, good to see you. And glad to see the sling’s gone. How do you feel?”
“Getting better,” he answers, not exactly eager to say anything more.
That’s fine, she thinks to herself as she gets to her feet and takes Martin’s file. Trilby might not always be the most cordial, but he’s able to get answers in ways she can’t. She doesn’t necessarily like his methods, but she can’t deny the results. “My coworker Trilby is taking your case when he comes in today. His office is just across from mine. If you’ll follow me, please?”
She steps around him and leads the way across the hall.
“He should be in shortly,” she says just as she reaches Trilby’s door.
But as soon as the words leave her mouth, she feels the shift in the energy. A psychic interference, an upcoming projection, a strong one and close by, close enough that Claire’s going to be right next to the epicenter of it. The air changes, like standing on the shore and seeing a massive wave ready to crash down on her. At this point, trying to build up a proper mental block would be like trying to stop the wave by piling up loose bricks in front of it. Better to focus on damage control. Time seems to slow as she works on tethering her mind as best she can, but it still feels like her efforts will fall so impossibly short as the foreign thoughts and feelings slam into her hard enough to make her gasp.
“Hey, sorry,” Claire hears Martin say, and she looks up from her laptop- that’s a laptop? It’s so sleek. It can’t be hers. It isn’t. It isn’t.- to face him. “You haven’t seen a dog, have you?”
“I’m s- sorry, what?” she hears the reply, and it’s coming from the person she isn’t, deep and resonating strangely to her ears.
Martin stutters a bit as he explains, “A dog, a- a Spaniel, I think.”
The person who owns the memories tries to speak again and goes, “In general, or…?”
Martin smiles sheepishly and nervously chuckles. “N-n-no, in the archives.”
His smile, his fiddling fingers, the sound of his voice, they spread warmth through her chest even as she hears the severe voice coming from her ask, “Why would there be a dog in the archives?”
“Oh, ‘cause, well, I-” Martin begins.
The person tied to the memories was impatient at the time, but that’s not the feeling shared now. “Who are you?” the voice interrupts.
“Uh- M-Ma- Martin, I- and, cause… I… may have…l-l-let him in?” Martin stammers while the person at the desk stands up.
“What? Why?!” she hears coming from her in spite of the pangs of regret.
Martin continues to explain himself, but the person wasn’t listening then, losing track sometime after, “We were outside, making friends.” It gives Claire a chance to take in other parts of the memory, the importance placed on this moment in retrospect. This is the first meeting. This is when it began. And she knows exactly what it is, can see how much of it there is to feel climbing up like rising water.
“Why were you coming into the archives?” the person asks once Martin’s finished.
“Oh!” Martin goes. “Uh, I- I work here!”
“No you don’t,” the person says almost immediately.
A laugh from a new party cuts into the memory and hooks Claire into another.
“So wait, he accidentally let a dog into the archives and you didn’t even know you were his supervisor?!” the woman sitting with her- no, with the person- gets out between her laughs. “God, you’re impossible, Jon.”
The person- no, Jon. His name is Jon. This is Jon and not Claire.- tries to stifle his laughter with one hand and attempts to pet the cat in his lap with the other. Once he thinks he’s got it under control, he goes, “It wasn’t that funny, Georgie!”
The woman- Georgie. This is Georgie and her cat the Admiral. Why would you name a cat the Admiral?- asks, “Then why are you laughing, too?”
But the laughter turns nervous. Claire- no, Jon. Jon’s leaning against a wall and sitting next to Martin, trying not to think about the pain in his leg or the worms on the other side of the door. Martin gives him an incredulous look and responds to something Jon said.
“What? What? N-No… what?!”
Oh dear god, he thought they were going to die and what could have been his last moments with Martin were wasted asking him if he was haunting the archives.
“No, I just…” Jon tries to explain. “No, just the way you phrased that…”
“Made you think I was a ghost?” Martin finishes for him.
It had already started, but it wasn’t it yet, not at this time. But it’s hard not to see it as part of it, not when Martin looks so soft and fond in disbelief, not when there might have never been an it at all. If he had to die here, at least his last moments would have been spent ending things on good terms with Martin.
“It started before that,” Martin tells him. “For me, anyway.”
The two are sitting on an old, squashy sofa, Jon curled up against the arm and Martin snuggled on his chest. Jon cards his fingers through Martin’s hair, and Claire struggles to remind herself this intoxicating affection is not hers. But it’s so very hard when she can feel Martin’s secure weight against her, his arms around her in embrace, every single strand of his hair through her fingers all as Jon felt it. Jon gently hums, prompting him to continue, and Claire can feel it in her throat.
“I mean,” Martin says, looking for the words. “I wasn’t about to confess my love for you then and there or anything. But if Tim hadn’t shown up when he did, probably would’ve said I regret not asking you to dinner.”
Jon softly laughs. “Might have said yes in that moment. Who knows if we would have gotten to it, though?”
Martin shrugs, and it’s so easy and accepting that it’s hard to believe anywhere or anything outside this moment exists. “We could say lunch at the cafe was our first date.”
Jon sits across the cafe table, sick from paranoia and lack of sleep and an injury that hasn’t quite finished healing. Honestly, it’s probably a miracle he’s upright. But he has been very hungry, and it’s easier to eat when there are a lot of witnesses around. It’s even easy to get caught up in conversation, to the point that he’s so ready for his next volley to Martin that he straight up forgets to swallow his drink and lets it fall out when his mouth opens.
Neither one says anything for a moment, Jon more focused on cleaning up and Claire soaking up the embarrassment.
“Did that seriously just happen?” Martin asks, laughter leaking into his voice.
“Not another word,” Jon tells him.
Martin keeps his mouth obediently shut, but it sits in a smile and his eyes gleam with merriment.
Jon dabs his shirt dry as best he can and asks, “Where were we?”
But Martin just looks at him, still smiling.
Jon frowns. “You haven’t forgotten, have you?”
Martin shakes his head, and what he’s doing sinks in.
“Of course the only time you’re compliant is when you can be malicious about it,” Jon grumbles, grabbing his drink and taking the time to actually swallow it this time.
“You don’t think I’m gonna tell the others, do you?” Martin asks.
Jon doesn’t have the trust to give anyone, not now, not even for stupid things like this. But god, he wants to. He wants that for him and Martin, wants it so bad it hurts from the unexpected desire and the resulting confusion, but all he can do is hold that pain for himself.
“We’ll do no such thing,” Jon protests, back on the sofa with Martin. “You deserve a better first date than me reluctantly going to lunch with you.”
“I’ll take what I get, Jon,” Martin says with a laugh, lifting his head and looking at him.
Claire could spend all day staring into Martin’s eyes when he’s looking at Jon, at her, like that.
“When did it start for you?” Martin asks. “When did it become this? ”
Jon kisses Martin’s cheek, and Claire can feel the spark of it against her lips. “As in when I knew for certain? In America.”
Jon has made the mistake of ordering tea in America.
Okay, maybe that’s not fair. America’s a big country. There’s probably one place that can get tea right. But this cup of mostly ice and sugar and caramel-tinted water isn’t it. He’s starting to suspect the dispenser is hooked to a hummingbird feeder. He powers through it as fast as he can for no other reason than to get something resembling caffeine in his system.
God, he doesn’t even want to call this tea. It’s an insult to every cup of tea Martin ever brought to him.
That’s when the feeling finishes its approach and fully envelopes him. He is alone here in his hotel room with his greasy bag of takeaway attempting to feel like a human, hidden away from others but unable to hide from what’s in him that reminds him he’s still very human indeed. But the truth of it is he doesn’t want to hide, strange as the idea sounds to him and his pride. He just wants to see Martin. He wants to do everything with Martin over again and do it right this time, apologize for this impossible world-ending mess, make it up to him somehow, and, perhaps most surprisingly, hold him tight and never let him go, never let Martin let him go.
He chokes once he realizes he’s already crying.
Martin sets a cup of tea on the corner of Jon’s desk, and Jon makes a small grunt of acknowledgment and nods in dismissal.
“Brought you a cuppa tea,” Martin says, setting the cup down on his desk.
“Hm? Oh, thank you, Martin,” Jon replies, waving him away.
Jon takes a cup of tea from Martin, their fingers brushing, and he says, “Thank you, Martin.”
Jon cups Martin’s cheek, brushing a tear away with his thumb. “I’ll come back,” he says, and he does his best to believe it.
“Martin!” Jon shouts, infuriated at the time but full of regret and an odd lightness and relief now.
“Martin!” Jon cries out in glee, seeing him for the first time after spending half a year in a hospital bed.
“I see you, Jon,” Martin says, coming into clear focus. “I see you.”
“Martin,” Jon gently replies, pulling him into his embrace.
“I’d rather be trapped in a post-apocalyptic wasteland with you than spend one more moment in paradise with her,” Martin says.
Jon smiles brighter than anyone in a post-apocalyptic wasteland probably should and tells him, “That might just be the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me.”
Jon leans his cheek against Martin’s shoulder and presses a kiss there, wrapping his arms around him but careful not to disrupt him fixing their tea. “Thank you, love,” he murmurs.
“We’re almost there, love,” Jon assures Martin, the two holding each other tight and walking through an incredibly dense fog.
Jon can feel Martin smiling against his shoulder before he leaves a kiss there, and he smiles himself as he buries his face in his pillow.
“Good morning, love,” Martin whispers, moving to leave a kiss on his cheek and rubbing his thumb over the spot where he left the first kiss.
“Are you sure about this?” Martin asks through his sobs, knife in his hand.
“No,” Jon answers. “But I love you.”
Martin gives him a shaky nod and says, “I love you, too,” before leaning in for a kiss.
“Martin!”
“Martin?”
“Martin…”
“Martin?!”
“Martin!”
“Miss Wyndham?” Claire hears behind her in a now painfully familiar voice.
She whips her head around, hands by her chest trying to guard her hammering heart. “Martin,” she says, and she can hardly believe he’s actually here. It’s unreal that he’s just standing there in his suit, and hot damn does he look good in that suit, with no outward evidence of what happened, unaware of his perfection. His dulcet voice, his kind eyes, his warm soft lips, the comforting bulk of his middle complemented with broad shoulders and big strong arms she wants holding her right now, and his auburn hair just long enough to start to naturally curl and artfully frame his face leaving her aching to lean in for a kiss. He’s the epitome of desire. Open the dictionary to "Eros" and you’ll find a picture of Martin Blackwood.
“Martin!” another voice calls out.
Claire turns at the sound, but she already knows who it is. She puts a hand to her throat, disoriented at not being able to hear Jon’s voice come from her.
“Jon!” Martin calls back, running to meet him.
Claire watches the two collide in reunion, and she can feel the satisfying crush of impact. It’s the proper resolution. It’s voyeuristic. She’s not Jon, she’s Claire, and Claire needs to pull it the fuck back.
“Hey Claire, you okay?” Jim asks from behind her.
She starts and gets out a quiet, “Excuse me!” before stumbling across the hall, her shoes falling off in her rush to her office.
-
Claire leans against her door for three good, deep breaths as she attempts to sort out both herself and the non-chronological nightmare that was Jon’s projection. The first thing that slots into perfect clarity is who Jon actually is. This is Jonathan Sims, the man Martin- Mister Blackwood! She must try to create some distance or she can kiss her professionalism goodbye on its way out the window!- was asking about and, as she learned from Mrs. Gilkenny, the man found in Clanbronwyn asking about Mister Blackwood. And if Jonathan Sims is the cause of the projection, then he is an esper.
She closes her eyes and takes another breath, but she shivers as her mind imagines Martin’s embrace again. She pushes her glasses up and presses her palm to her eye. Christ, this is bad. Focus. If Jonathan Sims is an esper, it is imperative that they start collecting information on him.
Claire gets to her computer and fires off a message to Trilby requesting that he give Jon a magenta test right away. That done, she opens a new document and begins the arduous task of untangling and reconstructing Jon’s projection into a coherent, chronological narrative.
She hears a knock on her door followed by, “Hey, Cinderella, I got your slippers.”
“Not now, Jim,” she calls back, still trying to find her focus by typing out what happened.
“Claire?” Jim asks.
She stops typing a moment and makes herself take a deep breath. Her voice is a bit more solid but still strained as she says, “I’m fine. Or better, anyway. And very busy, so please, not now.”
And with that, she gets back to work.
-
Claire blinks the fuzz out of her eyes, finally at something resembling a stopping point. Most of the document is just shorthand notes, but she understands it and can flesh it out later. She has a lot of context to fish out, and some of it is going to have to come directly from Jon himself. She’ll have to make an appointment with him tomorrow. Fantastic, just got off the Blackwood case only to jump onto the Sims case. But she’s spent nearly all day with his thoughts, and it’s time for her to have some of her own.
She saves her work, shuts down her computer, and shoves herself away from her desk. God, she’s sore all over from sitting so long, and her hands and fingers ache from all the typing.
Her mind suddenly conjures the image of Martin taking her hand in his and massaging away the pain. Damn it, she really got hit bad. She grabs a pen and a pad of paper, scribbling down a note to check the esper registry and find out if anyone else is likewise artificially infatuated with Mister Blackwood.
She gets to her feet, and it’s here she remembers her shoes are still waiting at her door. She heaves the sort of sigh that only comes at the end of the first long day in what she expects to be a long week. Fine. She’s done long weeks before. She gets her things, retrieves her shoes, and clicks off the light.
She sighs again once she’s out of the office. It’s easier to build her mind back up now that she’s physically away from it. With any luck, her defenses will be back to normal in time for her to get some sleep, and in between then and now she’ll work in what creature comforts she can.
Maybe not tea just yet, though.

if fans wanted to include peach in stuff they write, would that be okay? and how would they write peach's personality? aside from "FIGHT ME" anyway, i think that much is a given lol. i only really write the anime characters 'cause that's what i know, but it sounds like it'd be kinda fun to try making a version of ash that fits into this blog's universe! nerf'd Obviously, but i think she'd probably appreciate how hands-on he gets when training his pokemon!
Ok, I get a lot of these messages, and I often hear folks wanting to throw peach into their stories and comics and writings, and I will always simply ask that if it’s published online publicly, to be linked to it so I can snoop and enjoy the content too. If someone asks about her in your work, let them know about the blog I guess? But literally I love that people take this stuff, these characters and stories, and make new stuff with it. No ones making money off my work here? So where’s the issue? Go for it buddy, knock yourself out, I’m all for it.
For you, and all the others out there who want to add peach, and other characters to your world building, I will give you a detailed rundown of the main lot, and how they behave, what they do, how they function. You can use that, use bits, or use none of it, I do not mind at all. If you’re creating something, you’re in control, not me.
So, peach doesn’t actually fight people as much as you’d think. She’s very aware most cannot and do not want to do that, and so she likes to keep to herself with regards to that aspect of her life, she doesn’t ask to spar with people, or even bring it up at all, but people ask her all the time, even if they clearly would lose or become hurt should she miscalculate during the fight. She looks at people like they usually create problems, and often has a somewhat reserved nature to other humans. You have to work quite hard to get anything more than formalities out of her. She will dead-pan handle people with blunt and very to-the-point statements, aid whenever possible, but very quickly get back to handling the Pokemon she so carefully tends. Her focus is clear, she’s all about hard work, her very small select family, and the Pokemon.
Her brutal, loud and brash personality only comes out with friends, family, difficult humans, OR any Pokemon. She will joke and laugh and play with Pokemon, but clam up around humans, maintaining tight body language and generally will be a little cold by regular standards. She does however have some weaknesses in this emotionless shield she puts up. When peach was young she was always angry, which swung so fast to sadness, back and forth. Her teenage years it just got worse and worse, it was crippling at points. She is to this day, full of fire and rage, even sadness, but now she has learnt to control it, to use it. When she sees that in others, it’s familiar, and she is pushed to drop the front, and be very real with the person. Underdogs I suppose, people who get bad reps, but deserve the same as everyone else. She can’t ignore it.
Once you start to pry open her personality, you’ll find she’s a lot more laid back and fun than originally appeared, you just have to work hard to find that side of her. She will meme reference, can’t dance to save her life, loves her coffee, and can be caught in quiet contemplation while gardening. This hobby is her calmest, and often is why she can stay so level headed when her quiet rage boils up again. Without time outside she will become grouchy, a little snippy, and lethargic. Will not go in the ocean for any reason other than life or death, is fine with ponds and rivers, or water at wading height. Likes the rain.
With regards to her training others, they usually have to tolerate her somewhat strict nature. She is a little....unforgiving, holds a grudge if you make a lot of mistakes, and has no tolerance for ignorance in the age of information that we all live in. In previous posts I’ve mentioned she’s only recently selected two students, after many years of testing kids who want to learn from her. Hundred tried out, only two have ever been approved. How she teaches is very fast paced, be prepared to get some scrapes and bruises, she will test your physical and emotional tolerances with intense tasks, carefully watching students like a hawk. Bad posture in your stance? She’ll be the first to tell you to sort it out. Not hearing your Pokemon partner? Right, now you spend the day without using words trying to communicate, let’s see how you like not being listened to.
This is a woman who has spent her life saying very little, and watching everything, she watches Pokemon and can see an issue from a mile off, and in battles, her observations are why she can react fast, and chose effective strategy to avoid damage and achieve results. Don’t let her body fool you, her strongest asset is analysing, watching, planning. Those skills have over the years transferred to people too. As a student, mistakes don’t go unnoticed with this professor.
Her methods are harsh but fair, and should you prove yourself, she will protect you with her life.
Because of her disinterest in kids and lots of noise, she does pass the training of students on to the other staff members whenever possible. Grey takes on the lions share of battle lessons, he is far calmer, more open and friendly, with patience for people, and an empathy that peach sometimes struggles to have. When you go through a lot of harsh training, and difficult events, it’s hard to change how you feel or think, with peach, well, she’s been through it. Most do not come out the other end in one piece, but she did, and it made her strong. You may think I mean strong like buff and big, and yeah sure she is, but I mean it mentally more than anything. Peach will not quit. She has learnt to destroy the boundaries that stop people getting hurt, gone is the fear that freezes you in your tracks, that feeling that you’ll pass out if you go one more step. She’s learnt to ignore it.
This means she’s a little forgetful at how it is to be normal, to be vulnerable and soft and squishy like students so usually are.
She has her issues, but for the most part, visitors get a laugh, a smile, a calm assertive confidence, and facts. She will indulge those who have genuine interest, or show a connection with nature, an understanding of the balance that needs to be struck for everyone to live well together.
Despite her many flaws, she’s fiercely protective, and will go above and beyond to defend the island, it’s staff, the Pokemon and the visitors. Injustice is her biggest gripe, along with littering, and she doesn’t stand by quietly if something happens that seems unfair.
You will not see her without Valka, her vulpix, close by. That Pokemon doesn’t like to be touched by strangers, at all, and will run the second someone comes at her with that intent. Peach will scold you for pushing yourself onto her, should you persistently try to get close to pet Val. They are in sync, if peach is sad, Val is sad, if Val is stressed, peach is stressed, and so on. They are inherently connected, it’s just been that long, the psychic bridge between them has been built, and reinforced over the years.
The only other Pokemon who follows her so endlessly is Booker, a teddiursa who’s pretty rough looking. He quietly trots behind, grouchy and stoic, they fight closely together a lot. He lost his mom a long time ago to poachers, and peach took him in, and changed her whole life for him. Not many people know, but Booker was the reason she left the rangers, changed career, and got so strong. Will tolerate people petting him but isn’t keen at all, grumbles a lot and tries to move away.
You may also need to know about the others, for the sake of writing, she here a few more bits that may be important to you, or others wanting to do this.
Grey is very tall, very burly, composed, tells bad dad jokes, is a bit of a goof if allowed to be. If he sees a pun, he’ll say it. Can’t help himself. Very nice guy to work with, good at keeping people calm and grounded. Pokemon are drawn to him like a moth to a flame, he gives off warm energy, and has inhuman amounts of patience. If you wrong his family however, he will snap back.
He grew up in the city, loves to swim and hike and cycle, can snowboard, is really sporty. A total brain box with held items, and boosting stats. He will explore many paths, to make sure visitors and students get the information they need, in a way that can be remembered and retained for later. Is a huge guy, but will get on the floor to play with a tiny Pokemon. Treats big “meaner” looking species like babies, very good with all pokemon.
His free time is spent either tinkering, swimming, or trimming his bonsai trees. This guy stares at screens a lot, so appreciates time away from them. Peach built him his own little greenhouse for his trees and tools, which he keeps clean and loves dearly.
His methods as a teacher are built around fun and games, he makes hard work easier to do by distracting trainers from the difficult bits, and focusing in on something more interesting or compelling.
His most commonly seen Pokemon would be a houndoom, Saxon, old battle veteran, retired now to herding and being a good boy. Very gentle, loves a pet.
Pari, now a fully fledged nurse, often oversees the labs front desk and pokecentre features, such as healing pokemon, and informing trainers who come to visit. Her skills with eggs and hatchlings is high, she’s great with younger Pokemon, and hands out good advice to trainers a lot. She’s not a fighter, never was, but can find any file, any study, any book, and any refrence you may need. A true bookworm, loves her romance novels, chat shows and upbeat celebrity gossip mags. Will cry at a lot of stuff, be it sad or happy.
She’s got a seriously upbeat personality, but if caught off guard or shocked, she gets a little flustered. Too much chaos will overwhelm her, but usually she’s on top of things. The years spent on the island have made her better at maintaining composure in emergencies. With lots of siblings, she’s very competent with others, and has a good ability to disarm cagey people with her jolly nature. Because of this, she can sometimes gain information from trainers that some of the more harsh professors may not have access to. Charming is a word for it.
Her partners are an eevee, and a happiny. They are quite sweet and well adjusted, the eevee gets a bit bouncy if you get it too excited.

Falling
[Bryce Lahela x Olivia Hadley Masterlist]
Pairing: Bryce Lahela x Olivia Hadley (F!OC) Other Characters: Keiki Lahela Book: Open Heart  Word Count: ~500 Rating: General, fluff and silliness aka idiots in love
Prompts: @choicesjanuarychallenge2022 : why
Synopsis: Bryce has gotten himself into a situation and needs Liv's help.
Tumblr media
"Livvvv—"
She heard his cry even before she twisted the key in the lock.
"Help! I'm falling!"
Her pulse quickened, and her eyes widened. Hastily she threw open the door, dropped her bag in the doorway, and ran toward the sound of his voice.
"Liv! You're here!"
Her efforts were halted as she found him upside down on the couch, legs over the back and head hanging down toward the floor.
"What're you doing?" Her voice rose with concern. "I thought you were actually falling."
"I am falling," he repeated.
"No, you're not." She breathed a sigh of relief, clutching her chest as she caught her breath from the panic that had risen.
"Yes, I am," he insisted with a smirk. He reached out toward her, begging her closer. "I'm falling more in love with you."
She couldn't stop the stupid schoolgirl smile spreading across her face at his words. He was an idiot, but he was her idiot.
"How about a kiss?" He puckered his lips, eyes closing as he waited.
"Is he drunk?" Olivia turned her attention to Keiki, lounging on the recliner.
She glanced over to her brother. "Don't think so."
Olivia's face marred with confusion. "How'd you know I was home? I heard you before I even had the door opened."
"I'm psychic!" He winked. "Now, about that kiss."
Keiki scoffed and rolled her eyes. She barely looked up from her phone. "He's been calling for you and repeating that line for the past 20 minutes."
"You didn't help?"
"Why?" Keiki looked dumbfounded. "He's clearly fine... or at least he was." She shrugged nonchalantly. "I came when I heard him the first time, found him like this, and decided it was more fun to see how long it'd take for him to actually fall from blood pooling to his head."
"Keiki!"
"Don't worry. I would've recorded it to share with you—" A slow smile crept on her face. "—and the rest of the world."
Olivia rested her face in the palm of her hand, shaking her head lightly. "You two really are siblings, aren't you."
"Livvvv," Bryce started again as she moved to go shut the door she had left open in all the commotion.
"Let me guess—" She turned back, her brow raising. "—you're falling?"
He nodded. "How'd you know?"
"Bro, you need to chill," Keiki interrupted. "You might actually have brain damage at this point."
Olivia relented, kneeling beside him. She knew Keiki was kidding, but she might also not be that far off if he was allowed to continue.
Her lips press softly to his. "I'm falling more for you, too... even like this. Now, let's get you up and let all of your blood go back where it belongs, okay?"
His strong hands tangled in her hair, guiding her back to him.
The heat of his breath danced over her skin. His lips brushed hers gently at first before pressing deeper. His head rushed, finally feeling the pressure from the increased blood. He sucked her lower lip as he pulled away. "Ow."
"Your head hurts?"
"Yup." He pressed his fingers to his temples, his eyes squeezing shut. "It was worth it."

Thanks so much for reading. This is truly a silly, pointless drabble. I just love how in love these two idiots are. They're so fun to write.

“megazardx2: Unfortunately, the Tapu sync pairs seem to require very heavy investment to achieve their full potential, unlike (for example) the sync pairs from the Johto VA. If you don’t 3/5 and EX them, they’re good, but not mind-blowing.
(And knowing you, they probably aren’t a priority in terms of candying/EXing.)”
Actually all of them except Hau are 3/5, and the supports are EX.  I got stupid lucky with the pulls.  Mina hit 3/5 on like second multi, Acerola was the only one I pulled to spark, and I got two Lana on like fourth multi and hit her on a daily.  Even Hau was 2/5 after a few multis, he just never showed on a daily.  So I have them more invested than you might think.
Broadly, they all have the same problem: field effect on entry, even with extension, just isn’t sufficient.  You spend too much time in setup phase for it to last.  They at least get reapplication on sync at 3/5, but barring Lana who can call at any time, this locked many team comps into giving them the sync, especially in Gauntlet.  Without 3/5, it’s not that they underperform, it’s that half of them are outright dead weight.  The biggest issue that all but Mina have is that Buddy move animations take an eternity and a half.  So yeah, great, you’ve got this cool terrain up, but you get like three actions out of it because of how long it takes to move.
Hau is probably the worst off without full investment and some very specific support.  Buddy Electroweb is great damage, but only while both Electric Terrain and Fairy Zone are up.  He can call Fairy Zone, but it’s even more short-lived without extension.  At 3/5 he gets a really strong sync nuke to cover center, the reapplication, and Mind Games 9 as needed, but anything less than that downright struggles.
Mina is okay, but that’s as much as I can give.  Buddy Protect is the main attraction, thanks to the ability to block sync nukes in CS.  She’s a great option, perhaps the best option available, for SS Leon.  But on the flip side, her buff kit isn’t spectacular, her defenses are slow to build, she has no gauge control despite two means of speeding it up under conditions, Rain is too limited and doesn’t last, and her Buddy move has failed to keep some damage dealers alive through sync on offensive parameters in CS.  She excels in Gauntlet with 3/5, but considering how much she relies on Fairy Zone being constantly active, she only really worked well with DPS pairs, and really needed Whimsical Acceleration for them to do their job.  She’s just kind of awkward.  Serviceable, but awkward.
Acerola is definitely the best of the four, but as stated, she just...struggles against some things.  I’ve had matches where the opponent walks in, and just one-shots her in CS under offensive parameters.  Which is hysterical, but sad.  Like Hau, the long Buddy move animation means shorter time under your field effects, and she needs Sun up first to get the speed boosts that keep the team running smoothly.  She’s good for big explosive haha numbers, but not a whole lot else, which puts in the reverse position of Mina.  Great in CS, pretty significantly limited in Gauntlet.
Lana...actually Lana has an argument for being the most consistent, just because she decided to follow Koga’s advice and did one thing well.  Being able to just call Psychic Terrain without ever needing sync is divine, and her DPS is fairly respectable at 3/5 when all the tools are in play.  Propulsion on her trainer move aligns perfectly with Lusamine, and completes other potential fast-ramping combos effectively.  Her main problem is just that her big attraction, the AoE buddy move, is kinda...redundant with her EX, and the spread damage of others.  Like okay, Giovanni and Caitlin don’t really care too much given their sync already blasts sides, SS Lusamine’s big perk of no-penalty AoE was just neutralized, and SS Steven’s Attack Forme has similar issues to a striker now.  I think her tools are good but awkwardly placed, and I’ve found myself often preferring my 4/5 Anni May for the -1 special defense on entry thing.
The Tapu just came out...limited.  Not bad.  There’s definitely worse.  But for the sync pairs of any particular region, at the moment, I’m very tempted to put them near the bottom.  I’ve have to really think about that.  Kanto’s pairs didn’t do too well for themselves either, and barring Emma and Lys’ absurd DPS, there’s an argument to be made against Anabel and SS Diantha as effective pairs.  But they’re definitely not up to the par of most regions, I don’t think.

pokegirl au) ruby rose is a pokegirl fanatic but she has to admit something, for all her enthusiasm she has no idea what to do with yang. like she got the typeing matchups and even knew how to teach her how new moves. her issue was that she didn't know WHAT to teach her
"i'm sorry yang, i'm the reason we lost to that alolan vulpix" said ruby nursing a huge bruise on yang.
"it's alright ruby, you're just starting out. we'll find out what we need to do!" said yang wincing as she moved a little too fast. the two were gonna head right to a pokecenter as soon as they had recovered enough from their fight to walk
"it's just... i don't know what to teach you! i can teach basically any move and there's just too much to consider!" said ruby still lamenting her wealth of options
"well what if you taught her sunny day? along with morning sun flare blitz or solar beam she'd be able to sweep basically anything... so long as the first move lasted." said a blonde man with a pikachu walking behind him he offered a smile and kneeling down offered a oran berry. yang took it with a thank you and with the healing powers of the berry stood up "that's a great idea!" said ruby standing up "i could also let her keep attract to avoid taking damage in the first place! yang you can look pretty right?"
"i don't know rubes, maybe that would be too overpowered i mean look at me" yang said with a laugh and a flounce of her long golden mane
ruby was too caught up in having a plan that suddenly remembering the stranger that helped them came as a shock. ruby turned about and struggling to look up at the man from embarrassment "uh t-thanks, i'm r-ruby r-rose, this is yang" she said pointing to her sister
his pikachu zoomed forward "nice to meet ya! i'm nora, the cutest pokegirl in the world! and this is jaune-jaune! jaune Arc, the names short, sweet, and the ladies love it!"
no one knew it but this meeting would go down in history as the formation of the greatest team of pokegirls in history, and the greatest trainer duo as well
Jaune: So, where are you two headed?
Ruby: Beacon. We're going to sign up for the Pokémon League there.
Nora: Wow! Same here! Jaune here is obsessed with the League. He talks about it non-stop!
Jaune: (Blushing) I don't talk about it that much.
Nora: Every time we train, he tells me, "Nora, that's not League permitted," and "Nora, the League isn't going to like that," and "Nora, not now, I'm using the bathroom!"
Yang: (Chuckles) Sounds like you two are close. How'd you two meet? Blind date?
Nora: Jaune and I fought a really strong Pokémon, and we decided to stick together.
Ruby: Ooh! What Pokémon?!
Jaune: Well, to be honest-
Nora: A super strong one! See, Jaune and I met while I was climbing Mt. Silver, and it was there we encountered the terrifying Pokémon! She was twenty stories high, breathed silver fire, and had trucks for hands! We managed to stun her and seal deep within the depths of Mossdeep City!
Ruby: (Looks to Yang)
Yang: (Shrugs, Both look to Jaune)
Jaune: (Sighs) We met in the woods by my family's house, met a Pokémon we've never seen before, and we managed to paralyze her to allow us to get away.
Yang: (Chuckles) Sounds like a stunning encounter.
Ruby: (Groans) Ignore her. So, what did she actually look like?
Jaune: Hm, well, she was kind of far away, but she stood about... I'd say ten feet tall? She had pale skin and white hair, and she wore a long, black dress. Oh, and I think she used Psybeam!
Ruby: So she's a Psychic-Type?
Jaune: Maybe, but it didn't look like any Psybeam I've seen on TV.
Yang: Eh, maybe it's just a variant of it for her. I wouldn't worry. Besides, you've got bigger things to worry about.
Jaune: Like what?
Yang: Like us! (Grabs Ruby's shoulders) If you're going to take the Pokémon League challenge, just know that we're not going to lose, especially not against someone like you!
Jaune: Like me?
Nora: Oh, is that a challenge?! Bring it on, hot-shot!
Yang: Oh, it's been brought, Pinkie!
Jaune: (Sighs) So, how'd you two meet?
Ruby: We're sisters.
Jaune: Oh, really? Does that mean you're a Pokémon, too?
Ruby: Not really. My parents are both human, but my Dad was first with his Pokémon, Yang's mom, Raven, who's a Mightyena.
Jaune: Oh, I see. (Pulls out a book) Let's see.
Ruby: What's that?
Jaune: The Pokémon League rule-book. I'm trying to look up a rule about the gym challenges.
Ruby: Which rule?
Jaune: (Opens his book) About Tag-Team matches.
Ruby: Tag-Team matches can be allowed on a case-by-case basis if both challengers are of equal standing, at the Gym Leader's discretion, that is.
Jaune: ...(Shuts his book) Huh. Word-for-word.
Ruby: My dad is a gym leader. You kind of pick these things up.
Jaune: Which gym?
Ruby: Patch Village. He specializes in Fighting-Type moves.
Jaune: Oh, really?
Nora: Yeah, really!
Yang: Well, why don't you put your money where your mouth is?!
Nora: I don't eat money! Just pancakes!
Yang: Oh, you think you're cute?!
Nora: Ohohohoho! I'm adorable!
