I never noticed this but the background is kinda........wonky. I've been around half-timbered houses (i think that's the name) for all my life so I knew something looked a bit off.

The wood beams(?) look like a mess. All of them but here some specific examples. They don't have to be all symmetrical but it is more typical, logical and prettier. The spacing is irregular and so is the thickness of them. Even factoring perspective and the usual imperfections, these are a bit toooo wonky to be intentional.

Here is a picture from the (german) wikipedia page about half-timbered houses to compare to. Obv there are different types of houses depending on a lot of factors but i chose the one most similiar to the ones in the drawing.

Some things don't even make sense bc what is that thin string on the window? A curtain? Outside? And the timbers have white stripes for some reason. Also, why is the roof next to it reflecting the sky or whatever is happening to have this blue space/line. The flowers and plants are so mushy and blurry you can barely distinguish any details.

I know it's just the background and people usually don't pay any attention to it but it's just so weird and noticable, for me at least. I don't wanna say they used....a....i....but how else is this possible? If you draw something, whether you like it or not, there is some amount of thought or vibe behind it. How was anyone OK with drawing this? Even amateurs wouldn't make such decisions. I'm not trying to bash prettybusy but with the rampant disease that is called "AI Art" and the growing disrespect against art(ist), I wanted to mention this somehow. If I'm wrong (I hope) and it's really just some poor overworked lad, then I feel bad for roasting the artwork so much 😭

Hi-Fi Rush really said "let's make a rhythm game that's made with such love and passion for music, has good characterization and growth, the humor and character designs are fun, the enemy battles are creative, the main villain is defeated through the power of friendship, and it contains tons of bonus content with no microtransactions, all for half the cost of an AAA game" and it fucking slapped

considering making a pmatga edition of my "say cheese" project where i take pictures of every character so people have easy access to photos (for edit blogs and the like!) of the characters . what are we thinkin chat

rewatching fontaine quest and like our first impression really is "wow these people are all theater weirdos" huh

🌼- Bananaberry - She doesn't exactly have one, when it comes to other's jokes at least. She takes sarcasm and irony literally because I'm projecting she's autistic. Coereba - They also struggle with humour, both due to not getting dragon humour and just generally being dry. And for the same reasons as Bananaberry. They got jokes easier when they were human though. Baby and Reba do sometimes find each other funny. Autism to autism communication.

Macaron - They like slapstick humour and puns.

Ebonyeyes - Dark humour will get a sad chuckle out of her, but otherwise she’s pretty blank.

Bananaberry - Not much! She’s pretty alright. She does sometime wish her egg had never been lost though, and think of what a “normal” RainWing life might have been like.

Coereba - As much as they would never admit it, finding the cursed object that turned them into a dragon. They love Bananaberry, but just like her they wonder what their life could have been like otherwise.

Ebonyeyes - Once again, finding the cursed object that blinded her. She regrets it, a lot. Future sight wasn’t worth the things it’s caused her.

With few complaints or general discussions about MC (Raon) here occasionally, I've come to realize that everyone has different ways to experience games with MCs and it's very interesting. Limited to "romance" games ofc.

I already knew that there are generally those that self-insert and those that don't. Me, I don't think I've ever fully inserted myself in a game MC or even fanfics. It's simply so....embarassing? Not the action itself but somehow uncomfortable and I guess I just always think it's impossible for someone to fall for me. The level of suspense of disbelief is simply too high. I rather view MC as their own character and thus any actions, no matter how absurd, I can get behind it since it's them choosing it not me. Ofc there are some choices and developments that may be too OOC even for them but that's another can kf worms.

I think a good MC can bring out even more personality of other main characters. A real interaction between two characters seems more interesting to me instead of them simply blabbering to a doll. Since we'll never be able to have every variety of responses for every kind of person, the choices often are limited and perhaps bland. With an unique MC it just....feels juicier? But that's just me. How do you approach game MCs?
