I’ve been away from Tumblr for a bit and have spent the last 30 minutes or so getting caught up on FPK lore and

3. The twins are the embodiment of my last two brain cells during this finals season

Hahaha depending on how long you've been away there might be a looooot of catching up. They're on my mind 24/7 so there's a lot of stuff happening here.

Also super happy you like Lurien's design!!! I'm proud of how it turned out so it's really nice to hear that!

And yesssss about the twins, I can relate. Milo especially, his grumpy lil face was especially fun to portrat. And Asta's fluff is almost therapeutic to draw.

I've been trying to find that mouth chart that showed how Vyrm and Grimm's mouths worked/looked up close and i can't really find it. An anatomy tag or something would maybe be helpful with finding those specific types of things.

Ah it's worth noting that the chart in question is definitely outdated by now, their mouths are a lot more mammalian now and the old way I've pictured them is no longer accurate (for that look at the expression sheet I posted relatively recently).

Either way, I can't remember if I tagged it with that, but the #au designs tag usually has anything related to my designs, their anatomy and such, so you might find it there. I want to avoid having too many specific tags since there's already a ton of them, and it doesn't help that searching them in the first place often doesn't even work properly cause of Tumblr's broken search function. But all the main tags are in my pinned post with clickable links, so go there for that tag and any other one. If it's not in the tag I mentioned, shoot me another ask and I'll send the pic in the response (don't have it on me right now).

for enemies who attacked with infection globs such as aspids how do they defend themselves now that the infection is gone

As I mentioned in their description in the AU fauna page, they have venom glands in their mouths. This venom can be combined with the honey-like reddish fluid in their bodies, which makes it dangerous once spat at whatever they're attacking, as the fluid sticks to clothes/shell and can cause burns.

I haven't thought of all the beasts which used infection to attack/defend themselves, but I imagine it would be something similar. Either that, or the infection simply made their already aggressive behaviors far more destructive. For example, I don't think Belflies actually explode by nature. Instead, they're notorious for leaping at anything they perceive as a threat, and aggressively defending their territory. The infection in their bodies simply exploded on impact, and now that it's gone, their behavior returned to normal.

Though it would be very interesting if the part of the population that was infected and survived now displays strange behaviors. For example, instead of attacking with their claws/mouths like the others, they instead fly blindly into the opponent, leaving themselves vulnerable now that there is no explosion that kills them on impact and harms the other creature.

I'll definitely have more to share once I get to work on the rest of the fauna. I'm hoping to get through the canon beast species soon before designing original creatures for each region.
