most parents have a basinet in their room that the baby sleeps in at night during the first few months of its life, it's easier to monitor and soothe the baby that way. during the day, the baby usually sleeps wherever the parents are.

very few people are leaving their newborn alone for more than half an hour.

#delete later #honestly not sure on how music education system worked in Germany at rhag time #but from my experience #it is incredibly hard to perform classical music professionally if you didn't start your education at young age #if you don't start playing violins at 6/7 you probably wont be able to have them as your main instrument on university #or become a tutti musician #if you are not a Prodigy #but talent isn't the only thing #because if you don't know music theory you won't get far #and music theory on university level is 👹👹👹 #no i am not projecting my failed music career on rip/s #tbh i often regret leaving music highschool #but classical music industry was not made for really anxious girls lol #plus the whole change of environment and teachers and shit #and having to ro all that as extra work next to normal highschool 😁🔫 #two hours of violin snd one of piano a week #and 4 hours of music theory / history #and orchestra #and live note reading #classical music industry is something i hold closely to my heart #but i also don't because it left me lowkey traumatised #but nothing beats the pure awkwardness of having to perform in front of 5 elders who don't wsnt to be there and have this dissapointed look #while tje room is too hot anf you're sweating and can feel your legs shaking #and of children choirs and singing performances #making rip play violins would be fun because its smth i have 8 years of experience with #but i feel like piano would fit her more #obviously her main focus is singing but you must have at least one instrument #rip van winkle

It is always worth complimenting strangers on their shirt or their makeup or their accessories. Yesterday I told an older woman at the grocery store that I loved her shirt (bright tropical floral in a comfy-looking fabric), and she told me she got it in Hawaii in 1962. "Can't get this anymore! One of a kind!" She said. She was so clearly delighted to share that and I was delighted to know it. 10/10 experience, will do again.

Studying linguistics is actually so wonderful because when you explain youth slang to older professors, instead of complaining about how "your generation can't speak right/ you're butchering the language" they light up and go “really? Despite what most people would think, Danny was an excellent driver. It took a lot of hard work and extra classes, but he is by far the safest driver of the family. So safe in fact that others often make fun of him for it.

It was fine. Danny was proud about being a safe driver. It's what he worked for! His family already contributed to enough property damage.

Driving in Gotham was a very different experience from driving in Amity. His new friends made fun of him even more now.

It was one of these playful ribs that he shot out his favorite reply (one he hadn't gotten the chance to use since moving).

"Well, you know what they say; you should only do one illegal thing at a time!" Danny thought he was hilarious (as his species was still technically illegal), the Batkid (you decide) overanalyzed (as usual).
