Here’s something cute. How about a short Goblin (S/O) but their like a knight and he’s very respectful headcannons?
Sure thing anon! Sorry for this taking FOREVER but I ended up falling in love with this character. If anyone else wants more of this goblin knight, lemme know 👀
Knight! Goblin S/O SFW headcanons
Took a looong time for him to call you by your first name and not use any kind of honorific. Even now, calling you so informally makes him blush and stutter
For a similar reason he's not a fan of PDA; It isn't proper! But when you're in private prepare for some heart felt, courtly love kind of sweet talk
"You looked radiant today, my moon. I could not keep my eyes off you for even a second, and only the thought of being with you now kept me sane."
He will also kiss your hand, as it's one of the few affections he deems fit for society. He wishes to honor you in every moment, so he almost always greets you with a kiss on your knuckles and then a kiss on the cheek.
(He’s not a very jealous person, but you do notice how these kisses linger when someone has been making eyes at you. It’s his subtle way of saying “Excuse me, this is my beloved.”)
Gets very flustered when his affection is returned, no matter how long you’ve been dating
Even a kiss on the cheek makes his face go bright with a blush, his tail wagging furiously back and forth
He's used to be underestimated as a fighter, but he's confident enough in his own abilities to not let it bother him. The only thing that REALLY pisses him off is when they question his ability to protect you and the people he loves; Now that will get him to demonstrate his skills
It mostly goes like this: Some asshole, not even pretending to whisper, going on about what you’re doing with a knight like that, how he probably can’t even lift his own sword. In 10 seconds the guy’s knees have been kicked in and he lies flat on his back, a dagger to his throat
“Now I’d rather not end this night with blood on my clothes, so I think an apology is in order. Or would you rather we settle this like knights and duel?”
Writes the most gorgeous, leg trembling letters to you when he’s called away on duty. It’s mostly describing how much he misses your voice and your stunning visage.
(But sometimes, after a heated battle, he lets out how badly he wishes to hold you again, to kiss you, to touch you. It’s not super sensual, but according to his standards it’s downright erotic)
His favorite thing to do when he gets back is have dinner by the fireplace. Something about the simple pleasures of home really warm his heart after spending weeks in a muddy battle camp
Despite his lack of PDA, he is a huge cuddler. When you’re both in the safety of bed, he adores nothing more than to snuggle his face in your neck and embrace you around the waist, often wrapping his tail around your thigh just for the extra contact.
Also loves having his hair played with, especially after a good meal or writing before you go to bed. He will purr and he is not even ashamed of that fact
He enjoys his position and the rush of a good fight, but his larger dream is settling down to become a gardener. Just owning a small homestead with you, enjoying the privacy and love ❤️

Hello! Sorry about the roughness of my blog, I mostly just used this one for lurking before I ever thought to get in on anything.
I’m Shallahi Ksheh Bah-Teft, I’m… around… Nanish-er, that’s 20 years old, I think? (Years, months, days, and hours are different where I’m from.) (UPDATE: it’s closer to 22.) I’m human (mostly), Thaylen/Alethi, but I have longer eyebrows than most half-Thayleni. (I’m a Luxray Hybrid now, as of 2-29-24.) Yes, long eyebrows is a weird thing here. I tend to wear them over my ears, if that’s a good image to use as a metric.)
(Update: Apparently I’m Luxray-kin? I just figured it out, so…)
I’m from Kharbranth, also known as the City of Bells. I’m a Knight Radiant (something like a “Chosen” for a smaller, less powerful being. I’m of the Sixth Order, a Lightweaver of the Fourth Ideal as of 1-23-24), a Worldhopper (a “Faller” with more agency in where they go, basically), a collector of stories and knowledge and a lover of food and adventure!
I am a member of Bridge Four and an Incursionist.
I thought I was 6-foot-something, but I’m closer to 6-and-a-third of this world’s feet in height.
I use she/it/fae, and by your standards of gender, I would be transfeminine. (I transitioned by accidentally taking in an entire lamp’s worth of Stormlight, so no need to worry about HRT access, thank goodness. It’s such a shame that others can’t just breathe in magic and—poof! Be properly aligned to their Spiritual aspect.)
I may say words that don’t make sense to you, or don’t fit in the context you’d use them in, that’s just a consequence of the mixing of my own vocabulary and knowledge that I took with me here, me learning new words and assuming their meaning, and the Connection tricks I use to help learn new languages.
I said I was a Worldhopper earlier; don’t worry, while yes I might steal away to Scadarial or elsewhere for a bit, I’m making this world with weak storms, static grass, and colourful fluffy creatures my home. Like Shinovar but with more colour and less ksenophobia!
Now for you, Snowflake!
Mmmmm…
Ah! I am called “Snowflake” or “Snowy,” (She/Her) and I am a Patternspren or Crypticspren. A spren is… mmmm… a small fragment of a God. Not your gods, mind you. I am bonded to Shallahi, who you have already heard from. This world is strange to us. There is no Shadesmar, no Cognitive Realm that we could find. This means that I am just a Pattern on a dress or other form of clothing. I am dictating my words to Shallahi. Mmm… unfeminine.
(SH: Don’t listen to that stupid old book, it’s full of lies.)
I like lies. You know this.
SH: Then why let those lies dictate your life?)
Mmm… I am called Snowflake because that is how my Pattern looks. This is everything I can think to say.
I sign asks as ❄️.
I have a ton of siblings from Bridge Four, and also Oppy @freeroaming-curiosity is my sister!
Malkah (@faller-of-kharbranth) who just Fell here recently, is also my sister now!
Mrrrp!! I’m Shallahi Ksheh! I use she/her!!!
I’m Ishev—fourteen—Rosharan years old, and a Shinx hybrid! I’m… an alternate version of the Shallahi y’all know! Basically, I’m her kid sister!! I wanna be a Trainer!!!
I sign my asks as -Shallahi The Shinx Kit ^•w•*^
SALUTATIONS. I AM HER MAJESTY THE DUSK QUEEN LUNALA, THE PSEUDO-PATRON OF SHALLAHI.
My name, should you need it, is Nyx, and I use she/he/it/moon pronouns.
Should I send any asks, I shall sign them with -Her Majesty, the Queen of Dusk, Lunala.
Rose @hisuianhellion is MY GIRLFRIEND AND I LOVE HER SO MUCH!
I have 12 kids:
• Sword @sword-of-injustice, who talks like this. (Your pronouns.)
• Crystal @crystalclearribbons, who doesn’t live with me. (She/Her)
• Vivillon @shinx-oh, who also doesn’t live with me. (She/her)
• Fox (Eevee), who lives with Vivillon. (He/him)
• Illanero @zoruascanbetrainerstoo, who is the Champion of Hoenn and Kalos!! (All, but mostly xe/xem)
Xe usually travels with Cresselia/Zrosenza @moondreamscape. (she/it/dream)
• Svirak-Daughter-None, a Squawkabilly (She/Her).
• [Zeradin, a Zebstrika] (They/He).
• <Zan, a Dwebble> (He/Him).
• {Vinette, a Joltik.} (She/It).
• Palana, a Natu (She/Him)
• Navari, Eevee/Axehound hybrid, egg obtained from Quasar ( @rogue-nebula) (She/her? Hatched. Unknown.)
Here’s my Trainer Card:
Tumblr media
Annoyingly, there are very few darker-skinned Trainers with blue eyes in the options. Nessa(?) here is the closest I could find.
I have a Venipede friend named Kjrni!!!
Pelliper Mail is ON!
Same with Musharna Mail!
Don’t be afraid to ask me stuff, serious or silly!
In fact, don’t be afraid to be goofy with your asks.
Magic Anons are ON, but FILTERED!

Previous Arcs: Purifying Waters Arc, Time Heist Event, Rotomblr in Wonderland, Lightweaver Luxray, Robot Rescue, Mini-Arc: Curse Of Angy Teen, Muse Mixup Madness (Get PMD’d (Luxrayposting)), Mini Arc: Pokesona Time!, Muse Mixup Madness (Shashariposting).

what's your syl theory?
SO glad you asked. Rhythm of War spoilers ahead for those who haven't finished the series yet!
First, let me start with this, which I know is a controversial topic: I don't think that Syl or Kaladin will die in book 5. I think that Kaladin's arc is about living and now that he has turned a corner it would be cruel for either him or Syl to die. I just don't think it would be a compelling wrap-up to his character arc in this half for him to experience even more pain. That would be the lazy way out that I don’t think Branderson would go for (please be right please be right please be ri-)
BUT, with that being said, we know that the back five books are going to focus on characters who were in the background during the front half, and our main characters are going to fade into the background a bit. Kaladin, in my opinion, is just too much of a Main Character™️ to sink into the background UNLESS something happens to his powers. So I think that's how he gets sidelined. When does Kaladin lose his powers? When something happens to Syl.
The tl;dr of this is that I think Ishar is going to manifest Syl in the physical realm and she will get stuck there.
Kaladin and Syl are headed straight towards Ishar right now. As we know, Ishar has been doing some fucked up experiments with spren and has been trying to get them to survive in the physical world with no success (Why? Who knows! Certainly not me.) But he does make an interesting note that Sigzil finds, which I have a hard time believing is just a throwaway observation:
"Our first honorspren lived nearly fifteen minutes. A new record, and orders of magnitude longer than all previous attempts. Honorspren seem to have the most humanlike essences. When transferred, the organs and muscles form most naturally. We must capture more of them."
What would make an Honorspren even more likely to survive in the physical realm? If they were bonded to a Knight Radiant of the Fourth Ideal. Syl has already gotten stronger in the physical realm– throughout RoW we've seen her progress by being able to change colors, and Kaladin is even able to feel her in the physical realm, first when he is falling and grabs her hand, and then after:
“Syl landed beside him fully sized in a Bridge Four uniform. He could faintly feel her when she rested her head on his shoulder.”
Syl’s arc in RoW was all about understanding Kaladin and humanity in general better. We’ve seen her become more and more human, and even go to Dalinar asking him to help her feel what Kaladin feels which results in her remembering Relador and her grief at his death. I think all of this combined– Kaladin needing to be sidelined somehow, their journey towards Ishar, his experiments with spren, and Syl’s own arc about understanding humanity– leads to the conclusion that Ishar will force her into the physical realm. Ishar seems dedicated to his experimenting with spren for whatever reason, so I think he would jump at the chance of trying to manifest a Radiant Honorspren if he saw one. Because Syl has a Nahel bond with Kaladin, she will be the first to survive.
Would Dalinar or Navani be able to undo what Ishar did??? Maybe. But I don’t see Kal, Szeth, and Syl making it back to the Tower before the contest of champions is over and I think that will be a loss for Dalinar, and Navani at this point doesn’t know much about her Bondsmith powers. So I think that leaves Kaladin and Syl in the back half of the series without Radiant powers, on a quest to try to undo what Ishar did.
Feel free to add to this (or refute it!) Also this isn’t a theory that I’ve seen floating around myself– but I’m sure someone smarter than me who has read the series multiple times has already thought of this. I also hope that this doesn’t happen and the only reason we don’t see Syl and Kal in the back half too much is because they are enjoying retirement <3

I’ve been waffling a bit on which Operator to use that celebration operator permit on, so I figured I’d ask someone a bit more knowledgeable than me for an opinion. Who would you recommend grabbing, Skadi or Mudrock?
I’ve got Gladiia’s Module lvl3 and Andreana’s Module lvl1, so I wanna take advantage of that Abyssal Hunter synergy, but it seems like Skadi is likely to be back in the gold cert store soon-ish?
On the other hand, Mudrock is Mudrock. I did pull Penance, but idk how similar they are in terms of uses.
Any thoughts?
Considering you have Gladiia Module lv 3, then either is a good option. If I knew more about your roster and about what you have and don't have, I'd be able to give a better recommendation, but I'll personally say Mudrock probably has more weight.
Mudrock and Penance are different in terms of usage: Penance specializes in HP Shields, while Mudrock specializes in Single Hit Shields. HP Shields are straightforward: Shields with HP that add their value on top of the Operator's HP. This makes Penance better at tanking groups of enemies. Single Hit Shields disappear with ANY attack, no matter how strong the attack, so a Talulah smack and a Reunion grunt hit will be the same in that the Shield WILL be consumed. This makes Mudrock better at dealing with strong enemies, since she can strong their super strong attacks without any repercussion. I'm saying "better" in both cases, but keep in mind, both Mudrock and Penance are pretty monstrous units that also can do the other job relative to their type of Shield really well. The thing with Penance is that you have to decided how you'll go about refilling her HP Shield: She can only refill it with her Talent (killing enemies to restore a part of it) or by S3 activation, and S3 is a Getting Hit charge, which means you necessary need to be engaged in battle and get hit 20 times at M3 in order to get another reliable big boost to your Penance Shield. 20 hits is either trivial or simply impossible to tank through, depending on what's doing the hits. Mudrock, on the other hand, automatically generates her Hit Shields through her Talent, and her S2 famously makes her incredibly powerful since it heals her whenever she uses it. Mudrock has her S2 and her Shields (which heal her whenever they pop) to sustain herself, whereas Penance has no true self-sustain other than making more HP Shields, and cannot heal herself at all, with only her S3 directly giving her Shields (her S2 increases the rate at which shields recover with each kill, but it still requires a kill). The only ways to heal Penance are Indirect sources of healing, like the Corrupting Heart, Angelina E2 talent, Perfumer talent, etc. Their use is different, as you can see! Mudrock is perfect for firing and forgetting: Put her in front of an enemy spawn or in a crossroad, and her S2 + Shields + Massive Stats will keep her again. Also, if you have Blemishine, she is THE synergy for both Mudrock S2 and Penance S3, allowing those Defensive Skills to also be charged Offensively.
Skadi has a more specific, less universal use that is however very useful: You mostly use her S2 to helidrop her on strong enemies to use her insanely high Attack to destroy them. This used to be rather weak since Skadi did not in fact have the durability to actually do this job well, but ever since the advent of Gladiia's Module and her own Modules, she now absolutely has the bulk and regen to duel VERY effectively against stuff like Patriot. If you don't have a heavy duty helidrop assassin (like Nearl the Radiant Knight or Guard Specter S2M3), then having Skadi on your payroll should enable a LOT more strategies, especially since, again, you have Gladiia Module lv 3, which is a huge huge buff to Skadi. For more static uses, S3 exists, which gives her insane stats for a whole minute, but then has a 90 second recharge, meaning it's a bit of a one hit wonder per map (alleviated by Specter the Unchained's Module that speeds up SP at lv 3, making it a 60 second recharge instead).
Take these in consideration when making your choice. If you already have some drop assassin, then Mudrock is an easy choice, she's simply VERY VERY good, and if you don't, then consider what it is you value more between what Skadi and Mudrock can offer, since their roles are quite different.

To those of you following my Hallowed Rainforest AU, I’d like you to meet Pale Pebbles, the king of the Hallowed Rainforest.
As you might have guessed, his character is a combination of PK from HK and 5p from RW. Although our protagonists never canonically meet him while he’s alive, he still plays an important role in the AU’s story.
Tumblr media
Pale Pebbles is a higher being who initially arrived at the rainforest with his can from the eastern sea, alongside his sister Looks to the Rain (whom I will talk about another time.) This was back when the rainforest was still under the rule of the Radiant Light (not to be confused with the Spirit Tree).
After his arrival he worked in collaboration with the Spirit Tree to banish the Radiant Light and build a kingdom out of the rainforest, which he dubbed the Hallowed Rainforest. The inhabitants of the Rainforest were already living in a somewhat primitive society, but Pale Pebbles invented college granted them more complex, higher thought and society once he began to establish his kingdom.
As his kingdom grew, Pale Pebbles began experimenting with the void which came from the void sea deep below the Rainforest, in order to find a way for his people to escape the cycles. He created void constructs, such as the Kingsmoulds, and hunter-variants: more powerful, void-infused versions of existing creatures.
Of course, as we all know, eventually the infection began to threaten the kingdom, which causes Pale Pebbles to panic and make several poor choices, like throwing babies into the void sea and ignoring his sister. I’ll save the details of The Hollow Knight for another time.
The can is not pictured here, but think of it as PK’s giant wyrm corpse but mechanical. A giant, mobile mecha-wyrm super computer. Pale Pebbles has a palace, but the can is where he does most of his work, so he keeps it around and maintains it during his reign. His puppet (as seen above) can detach itself and travel outside the can, usually to make public appearances or visit the Spirit Tree.
Also, yeah he’s still married to a tree in this AU. But he didn’t have babies with the tree cause he’s a robot! Not biological babies anyway.

You are to rewrite Platinum's (and by extension the rest of her faction's) role in a story as well as worldbuilding in a manner where you wouldn't have hated her character and also it was actually interesting. You may change whatever events or character dynamics you want as long as it is more or less in line with what we knew before the event.
Make her a man, then no one in this fandom would give a shit about her and BlemiPlat/NearlPlat shippers wouldn't exist
the simplest solution is to simply not let the Blemishine kidnapping scene progress to the point where Platinum was about to cut off Maria's fingers and modify Blemishine's files so that she's less visibly cold to Platinum. I still don't give a shit about Platinum and think her ships are boring in this scenario, but I don't hate her with this change. She's just forgettable.
That doesn't fulfill the part of the prompt where I have to make her interesting (challenge level: immensely difficult), so I'd probably make her a bit more defiant of the Armorless Union and a bit more willing to actively try to escape the life she's been forced into. Perhaps she could even be inspired by the example of the Radiant Knight and kind of parallel the journey Mlynar takes during the Kazimierz events a bit. Maybe she slacks off a bit or does little things to help the good guys as Margaret's example restores her hope.
In this scenario, I think her turning point comes when she's ordered to abduct and mutilate Maria and manages to do the first and not the second. She sets Maria free and intervenes with all the others during the final match and the walk to the trophy hall or whatever and has to flee as the Armorless Union punishes her defiance. The Lazurites ask why she betrayed them and she says the Radiant Knight taught her what it meant to embody the true spirit of Kazimierz and she prepares to fight on, defiant to the end. Suddenly the Doctor/Rhodes Island has an actual reason to intervene on her behalf (the Doctor saving her at the end of Near Light has always felt like an excuse to make her playable more than anything else tbh) and oh, look, NearlPlat and BlemiPlat have some actual basis beyond "uwu Enemies to Lovers so kyuuteee :3 :3 :3"
There are probably a lot of other ways to do this, this is just the roughest of concept outlines of the first one I thought of

The Stormlight Archive Volume 1: The Way of Kings’ Review: Chapters 16-19
Tumblr media
link to contents page - https://at.tumblr.com/the-vibes-are-off/hey-hey/96xd9ohihrzs
FINALLY I woke up this morning with some semblance to get out of bed before 8am and actually make the most out of my day. Essays are going hella slow and I honestly think the weight of dealing with them is just draining me hard, I cannot wait to get them tf out of the way; not to mention I’ve just spent £70 on Shakespeare for the coming semester :’) yay so excited for them to arrive today ;-;.
Unfortunately, as the next semester approaches I imagine the frequency of these posts will decline as I’ll have to reduce my TWOK reading to 1 chapter a day at most in order to fit in all my uni reading. Which I am so gutted about because honestly I have enjoyed reading this chunk so much and the thought of having to slow down makes me so sad :(((.
Spoiler Free Zone:
This section does so much in the way of widening the scope to fill out the history of the plot and I’m living for it. Seeing more about Kaladin’s history AND like fckn ancient history as well???? I am so in.
I feel like this section has really got me into the swing of things more. With TWOK largely lying outside of the genre I normally read and not having the motivation of reading it like out of necessity for my degree, I was worried that I’d lose motivation but this section has really solidified my interest to the fullest !!
*** SPOILERS AHEAD***
Spoiler Zone:
I have loved finding out more about Kal in the flashback sections and this has not changed. 1. Ofc Mr. Edgy Boy is a simp and fought to impress a girl just ofc 2. and on top of that, ofc he’s secretly soft round the edges, especially for his brother. The bit when Tien gives him a sick rock ??? Bye I would smile too what a cute interaction. Bit of a RIP that he then like immediately got into a fight, over some juicy Shardblade lore nonetheless? Brando feeding us fr.
I love that he has Kaladin also thinking what everyone else is thinking in observing Sadeas as a pompous ass xD. It read so similar to what I love about some of my fave English Lit books in the critique of the upper classes and I will forever appreciate it (fuck the tories :p).
Then again tho, as ever, Brando refuses Kaladin a break and has his men dropping like flies bro. Ik he was trained as a surgeon but mf is not a miracle worker cut him some slack.
Then onto the Kholins and my goodness these have to have been my fave chapters so far. Starting off with the slightly less preferred, but still great, chapter of family revelations like Dalinar not remembering his wife and Renarin’s feelings of inadequacy. My little heart breaks for them :((
BUT THE VISION CHAPTER?????????? Oh my goodness I loved this chapter so much I lit had the whole chapter tabbed as a love this fro the start bc I just knew it was gonna slap so hard. You’re telling me, all in one chapter, I have been given an epic fight with shadow creatures, WITH some of the knights radiant, AND one of them is a woman, all wrapped up in sick fucking lore in a vision of the past brought on by a storm that ends in a mystical voice giving vague advice. Jesus take the wheel.

My OC's in the Knights Radiant Quiz
@illarian-rambling did this thing recently where she took the Knights Radiant Quiz for her ocs. Thought it was cool so I'm doing it too lol.
The Legend of Orian Goldeneye:
Jas: Willshaper (81%). Considering what her motives are in the story, this tracks nicely. Killian: Skybreaker (78%). I feel he'd be more of an ancient order Skybreaker, operating within his own moral code with an understanding of how rules are imperfect. Orian: Edgedancer (77%). It kind of fits his personality, and he would love to slide around. Henrik: Skybreaker (74%) and Stoneward (74%). Man was born to be a Skybreaker, he's a garrison captain after all. Stoneward also fits him, as a soldier. Diana: Lightweaver (74%). She is a musician, her morals can be questionable, and she disagrees with Henrik about many things. Azura: Lightweaver (57%) and Elsecaller (57%). She is very much into the subterfuge aspect of the Lightweavers. She's also decent at tactics, a theme of the Elsecallers, and dreamshaping is somewhat similar to moving through Shadesmar. Morpheus: Elsecaller (63%). Very similar to Azura, but he's much more on the cautious side.
Tales from Valaria:
Octavian: Windrunner (77%). Like me! And it also fits his role in The Watcher and the Thief, though by the time The Hunter the Myth and the Cure comes around it's changed drastically. Draven: Willshaper (73%). He does what he wants, doesn't really care for rules but he does have his own moral code. Reese: Lightweaver (62%). I'm not too sure about this one, mostly because her morals align closer to a Willshaper or Edgedancer in my opinion. But she does tend to hide her true self from others. Luc: Windrunner (78%). Fits his morals and his job, he's quite protective. Hector: Windrunner (79%). Same as Luc, makes sense since he's Luc's mentor, but I'd say Luc has a little bit more Skybreaker in him than Hector. Damian: Edgedancer (70%). Bodes well for Caenum to have a heir that cares for his people. He was also willing to give up his freedom if it meant his captor didn't get what she wants, so he's fairly selfless. Kaira: Lightweaver (57%) (Also -20% for Bondsmith apparantly???). She's very good at deception, but that's the only thing that would be Lightweaver about her. Personally I think she'd be a better Elsecaller, due to her search for power. Rift: Elsecaller (54%). I don't know how he got this one, he has average wisdom and intelligence is his dump stat. But he would definitely make good use of Shadesmar (for "borrowing" purposes).
(Superhero Story):
Rowan: Elsecaller (74%). Makes sense, he's fairly cautious, he's the leader of the group (not very good at it), and he's willing to do anything to get what he wants. Victoria: Windrunner (63%). She definitely likes working in a team, and is really attached to and protective of those she cares about, to the point where she'd do anything to save them. Ollie: Truthwatcher (81%). Considering their powers make them a great spy, fueled by their natural curiosity, this fits. Sam: Stoneward (61%). She's the group's tank, the most reliable out of all of them, and fairly optimistic. Whisper: Elsecaller (70%). What is with my villains and getting Elsecaller? Is it because they all seem to be selfish bastards who do anything for what they want? (Nevertheless this does fit him).

Undersiders' Radiant Orders (minimal-spoiler version)
I was gonna draw something for this, but Shardplate Is Hard, so without ado: my thoughts on the Undersiders as Knights Radiant!
Taylor: Stoneward - see this post.
Aisha: Edgedancer. "I will remember...". She IS one; all she needs is a spren.
Brian: I think it would be funny to make him a Skybreaker squire, then roleswap him and Aisha into Edgedancer (the novella). "My mentor/father figure/cult leader told me to hunt you and all Radiants down to prevent the Real Actual Apocalypse from Hell, and - you're being protected?? By another Radiant?? By MY SISTER???" is an unparalleled Situation. His stern + cautious demeanour fits the Skybreakers, and Nale potentially parallels both his dad and Coil. That said, I'm not sold on him becoming a full Skybreaker - open for discussion on alternative Orders.
You know who is 100% a Skybreaker, though? Victoria 'Cop' Dallon.
(Also open for discussion on the implications of Victoria and Brian as coworkers.)
Alec: Lightweaver. The boy lies to himself! And to everyone else (powers, past, heck - even his name). He's also artistically inclined (see: that one analysis post about him painting the Undersiders' symbols in their lair, which I, fool newbie that I was, did not save). I have a Plan for the Heartbroken + Imp, which I'll discuss in another post, but that's the order.
Rachel: Honestly? I could see her as a Windrunner, initially focused on protecting her dogs. Points:
“The order believes in structures of command, team dynamics, and the importance of a strong squad.”
“They tend to attract those who seek to protect the defenseless, but also enjoy action and fighting for what they believe in.”
And Lisa: I am so, so stuck here. Windrunner (protecting Taylor)? Truthwatcher (uncovering truth and knowledge)? Elsecaller (tactics and logistics)? Would she even be a Radiant?
Please drop your own opinions on Lisa (and Brian's) orders! And feel free to discuss my other ideas, that's what the post is for :)

Alright so here's the team I'm taking into endgame for my Fire Emblem Engage Hard Mode run. I don't think any of my class picks are too weird, but I barely did any reclassing on my first run, so it feels significant to me. Units are listed in order of recruitment. I'm putting down a "read more" in case people are worried about getting late-game recruits spoiled, any also just so this big long post doesn't clog up people's feeds too much.
I hope you like Canter, because I sure do
Alear (I named her Syldra)
Sword Griffin Knight; S-Rank Xander; Sword Power 4, Canter
Since Alear gets her Emblem form, I was comfortable switching her off an Emblem Ring. I consider this a pretty straightforward build; Flyer mobility and Canter enable her personal skill very well, and then Sword Power and Chivalry ensure that she'll do solid damage. My only complaint is that I didn't think of reclassing to Griffin (and necessarily unlocking staff proficiency) or of using Sword Power until after losing the first batch of rings, so I didn't get to use Alear in her final form until the lategame.
Clanne
Lance Hero; Sigurd; Dual Assist+, Reposition
I like this setup a lot. Brave Assist, Dual Assist, and the movement boost from Sigurd make Clanne effectively a damage boost for the rest of my army.
Framme
Martial Master; Lucina; Canter, Staff Mastery 5
First and foremost a utility setup. Debilitate with staffs, protect allies with Chain Guard/Bonded Shield, and occasionally bash some kneecaps with Flashing Fist Art.
Anna
Sword Mage Knight; Byleth; Canter+, Momentum
I like Byleth on a mounted character because more movement is good for Goddess Dance. Plus, the big Luck boost helps trigger Make a Killing, which is helpful for me specifically because I am not good at making financial decisions in video games nor in real life.
Yunaka
Thief; Corrin; Canter, Gentility/Bravery+
Daggers+Draconic Hex can cripple most targets, and Fog Dragon Vein+Trained to Kill with a crit-boosting engraving on her weapon means she is occasionally really good at securing kills. Bravery ensures that she can always deal some damage, therefore ensuring that her daggers properly debuff things.
Diamant
Successor; Roy; Canter, Speed +5
Honestly kind of a filler pick when I realized that I had 14 deployment slots for the last few maps and not 12 like I thought. I went with Diamant because he can use S-rank swords and I wanted to start using my legendary weapons.
Ivy
Lindwurm; Celica; Canter, Speed +4
The other character I added to my lineup to fill a newly-acquired vacancy, but unlike Diamant she fills a genuine niche, since I didn't have a good fit for the Celica ring on my lineup that didn't have a different Emblem I really wanted on them.
Kagetsu
Sword/Axe Wyvern Knight; Lyn; Canter, Gentility/Bravery+
Very much a meta pick. I took who seems to be considered the best physical combatant and put him into what seems to be considered the best physical combat class. Lyn ensures that he can double enemy speedsters like Swordmasters and Wolf Knights.
Fogado
Cupido; S-Rank Leo; Canter+, Bow Focus 5
Fogado exists for one purpose and that is to annihilate flyers with the Radiant Bow. Ideally I would have a Claude bond ring for Wind God, but the RNG just didn't pan out.
Panette
Warrior; Ike; Vantage+, Pair Up
Blood Fury+Wrath+upgraded Killer Axe=consistent 100% critical rates. Vantage and Pair Up help to prevent my hubris from killing her.
Hortensia
Sleipnir Rider; Micaiah; Canter+, Staff Mastery 5
Here pretty much exclusively for wacky staff shenanigans, using Micaiah to warp and debilitate en masse. My only regret is that I used up most of my Freeze staffs, and the shop never got them in unlimited supply like I thought it would.
Seadall
Dancer; Leif; Canter+, Quality Time+
Just straight grooving. He gets Leif because I struggle to find another unit that really wants his skillset more than another Emblem's, and Arms Shield protects Seadall from bows and tomes, which are most of the weapons directed at him whenever I fail to move him out of the danger zone.
Mauvier
Royal Knight; Eirika; Canter, Lance Power 4
I gave him a Brave Lance to take advantage of Lunar Brace. I've moved him and Alear to healing duty so that Framme and Hortensia can devote more of their inventories to wackier status staffs.
Veyle
Sword Wolf Knight; Marth; Canter, Gentility/Bravery+
Levin Sword Lodestar Rush goes brrrrrrrrrrr. She can't debilitate as well as Yunaka, but she still can add to poison stacks, which is neat. I also made her Alear's S-Support, and the two of them have tag-teamed a healthy amount of chapter bosses so far.

How about we trade? You receive: playlist update. I receive: plot
What is UP buttercups it’s pride month and along with a fic that’s been in my drafts for LITERAL YEARS I bring you….
Playlist update.
Under the cut, because as usual this be Long
Two side notes: since, for complicated and somewhat stupid but out of my control reasons, I cannot access Apple Music at work, some of you have been treated on Spotify to the in progress versions of the playlists that usually only I see, not just the versioned ones I keep active. Surprise?
Second, keep in mind if you see a repeated (or remixed) song, that means something. Sometimes it’s different than a simple “these take place at the same time” ;) you should also pay attention to similar lyrics, things about the same concept… there is a lot of thought put into these.
An organizational note: there’s seven playlists now! They’re sort of ordered here to what they’re most closely linked to: the main one and Dystopian Fiction, Through Apocalypse Skies and Endless War, Filaments and For Who I Could Have Been, and Design Your Universe is… mostly by itself, except the times it’s not.
Dark Matter
I am Dark Matter, your road to ruin…
Your World Will Fail and Dark Matter are what they’ve always been: the beginning. the end. Everything. Nothing.
(Your world will fail my love/It’s far beyond repair/Your world will fail my love/It is already there)
(Bring me your soul/Bring me your hate/In my name you will create/Bring me your fear/Bring me your pain/You will destroy in my name)
Things got shifted around a bit here to accommodate some things that fit better in another playlist, but No Remorse No Regrets is still the key one here. It is Haggar, and sort of Zarkon, but also not.
(It won’t remember so it won’t forget/It knows no justice or regrets for the blood it lets/Believing nothing, it knows no pain/And it feels no remorse when it enters your brain)
The End of the World and Apocalypse 1992 are the two halves of the Fall. More in that playlist :)
(Sold on a dream of a future serene/then why does it feel like the end of the world)
(Fly high through apocalypse skies/Fight for the world we must save/Like tears of a unicorn lost in the rain/Chaos will triumph this day)
Apex is the final moments of the Fall from the Blue Lion’s perspective (yeah, I said Red Lion last time, but this makes more sense. Trust me)
(Now we sleep/for a thousand years/something is coming/coming for me)
You Keep What You Kill covers the slow degeneration of the Empire between the Fall and present day. The knowledge harshly taught by the Thuranial War has been long lost, and the Devourer reigns once again, searching after Its missing part and the Burning Star. Zarkon and Haggar, under the Devourer’s… guidance…, scour the universe, adding to Its power. Marzin and Galraasa rise the ranks as the left and right hands of the Empire, omens of destruction before the might of the Empire. The ‘holy half dead’ that shape the devouring of the universe.
(Defying dimensions/These ruthless creatures will steal your soul/Breaking away from the chains of mortality/They won’t be taken down/Bow now to the holy half dead/The master to death mongers calls)
Ensheath is about Kolivan, placed here due to its relevance as he is forced into the role of Fourth General under the worst circumstances, and everything that almost causes him to follow Raelos in losing faith, were it not for the first of his ‘radiant knight’s. (Side note, if you play Arknights, guess who Margaret Nearl is here?)
(I once had the fight of a radiant knight/before I learned that justice may never exist)
Immutable is about Krolia. It’s her thoughts as she joins the Blade, as she leaves Earth and Keith behind, as she makes her way through a universe changed in the ten thousand decaphoebs she was asleep. It’s about the universe passing one by, and what she’ll do to keep her hope safe.
(She’ll risk it for the lives/She’s left behind/Hope’s on the rise/But she’s flying blind)
The Glory and the Scum is the reason Krolia isn’t around until MGHM. Suffice to say, she isn’t happy with some of the fallout of the events that lead into Ensheath, and decides that if Kolivan isn’t going to listen to her, she’ll go save the universe somewhere else. She is, after all, a Paladin.
(Look at what we’ve done/Take a step back/Shake your head at what we have become/We’re the glory and the scum)
The Seven Sisters is about Keith, and is the first of four fics connected to Closure by its influence on Child From the Stars (Lost in the Dark), as well as its relation to MGHM. It’s half the source for the Pleiades symbolism that crops up throughout Dark Matter.
(I cast my hope upon The Pleiades/The Seven Sisters who would come for me/They’d fall to Earth to grant a child’s dream/But I’m still waiting)
Starlight is the Adashi song. Here is the sad part, where they’ve separated by the launch of the SFSS Genesis and the things that were said. It’s also Shiro’s thoughts from the war as he watches Earth from ‘distant skies’.
(At night the earth will rise/And I’ll think of you each time I watch from distant skies/Whenever stars go down and galaxies ignite/I’ll think of you each time they wash me in their light/And I’ll fall in love with you again)
Waking Dream and Abyss are Awakenings. Mostly the Red Lion, but also extendable to the others.
(Centuries like flowing streams as years go rushing by/Waiting in the dark for afterlife)
(Open my eyes in a daze/How long has it been? Am I so out of place?/Warmth I can no longer feel/My mountain is gone, I’m surrounded by steel/The strangest of structures arises ahead/Seems to be held up by nothing/Where have I gone, do I dream?/How can the stars be all I can see?)
Who Will Save You Now is about the Paladins in First Contact. It’s the video messages they send to their families, the warning that Something Is Out Here. It’s a declaration of protection for the Earth, but also a recognition that they may not be able to do it themselves.  That is, of course, if they even get the message.
(I will not take from you and you will not owe/I will protect you from the fire below/It’s not in my mind/It’s here at my side/Go tell the world that I’m still alive)
It Has Begun is the Battle of the Sarnan Nebula (aka: Blackout)
(Even a well lit place, can hide salvation/A map to a one-man maze that never sees the sun/Where the lost are the heroes/And the thieves are left to drown…We will face the odds against us/And run into the fear we run from/It has begun)
And then it’s, of course, The End of the Beginning, it’s eponymous fic. And one of many, many connections to String Theory.
(Every night I die just a little/All this time, I’m caught in the middle/All your life, you fought with no winning/This is just the end of the beginning)
A Simple Plan is, well, not so simple. Several ‘simple plan’s come together, from Lotor’s scheming, Haggar’s suspicions and own needs, Galraasa’s orders to go beyond, and Team Voltron struggling to fit into their new roles while also building the Coalition. And to top it all off, everyone needs one thing to make all this happen: marthuzitok.
(How long can we hold off ending?/How long can we pretend we’re ok?/No one goes on fighting it forever/I know I’m better this way)
Crown of Mine is at the very end of A Simple Plan, but also woven together. It’s about a Black Paladin who doesn’t think he deserves the title, and his eventual desire to ‘burn this crown’ he never wanted. This also makes ASP the second of the Closure fics.
(I wish I could be the me that you see/But I’m too drawn to black and white/Don’t be confused, spare me the excuses/It’s not even worth the fight)
Outnumbered, Bringing it Down, and Wildfire are the Siege of Naxzela/Breaking of the Naxzela Line, the one major victory the Coalition manages to get before the Raid on Hell due to the success of Project Kuron. Oh, and remember that episode where Shiro tries to talk to Lance in the meld? Yeah that. Wildfire is specifically related to that one scene in String Theory where the real Shiro tries to help Voltron.
Why is it that songs from two different gachas ended up here with the same motif about breaking the clouds? I dunno, but it’s useful
(Outnumbered but we can’t back down/It’s us against the world, us against the world/Outnumbered but we can’t back down/Ten to one, on the run/We will still overcome)
(Devouring me/Devouring me alive/There’s something inside you that isn’t right/Something that haunts your dreams/There’s something that you have lost/And you’re bringing it down/You’re bringing it down, on top of us)
(Unsheath a sword to rend those clouds above the ground/wake up it’s time to gather now)
Shortly after is Memories of a Girl I Haven’t Met, which Every Time Our Earth Shakes is the end of. Krolia content!
(In this lonely place, bathed in silence and thoughts of you/I can’t see your face but I’m trying to envision you/So are you really out there? Are you awake with memories/Of a boy you haven’t met yet who’s wished upon the Pleiades?)
(Surrounded by lonely, bruised, and broken love/I’ve seen it and I won’t be like everybody else/Wave after wave, no change in my faith/I’m here for you through high or low/And every time our Earth shakes, I’ll fight through the pain/I’ll die before I ever let you go)
Remember that line about dinosaurs in MGHM? Laser-shooting Dinosaur. I’ll leave it there.
(Here I come/drop your jaws to the floor/I’m riding on my mighty shooting dinosaur)
Then, the aftermath of MGHM and Laser Shooting Dinosaur is Brothers of Crail, where Allura finally makes contact with Oriand.
(A secret ancient brotherhood, with laser sword in hand/guardians of ancient technology from centuries gone by)
Legion features the Whispers, Voltron, a few mullets, the Druids making a dangerous mistake, and… does this thing count as a robeast?
(Fallen angels ripping through/The circuitry inside this suit/Of flesh and bone that’s overthrown/No matter how hard you try/They keep waring deep inside/Where there’s a star collapsing in your heart/There’s something in your eyes/That’s coming back to life)
And then, which you can finally read, TRIALS (reimagine), Wrathful Cerulean Flame, Fools of Damnation, String Theory, I Am the One, and Final Mission ~ Quantum Burst. Yes the last one is mostly here for the whole big fun mess in The Architect to Rule Your Fate :3
(Hear me from the bottom/Forged in regret, I’m the silversmith/Doomsday, you we had it coming/Marching the streets with an iron fist/Obey no more in silence/The steel in our hearts will be monuments/Today, they’ll hear the violence/We’ll rise from the dark like Lazarus)
(So follow me/And we’ll burn the clouds away/And we’ll burn the clouds away/Keep our demons all at bay/There will be an end someday/And I must lead the way)
(Fool, dance for me again/I am your destiny, mark my words/Don’t you ever disagree/Fool, kneel for me again/I am your agony, walk my way/I will never set you free)
(You don’t believe in space/You don’t believe in light/You don’t believe that anything is well beyond your might/We walk across the sky and beneath the ocean floor/We’re never going anywhere we’ve never been before)
(I am the one/I am the architect to rule your fate)
House on Fire is the follow up to String Theory, dealing with the political fallout of having a spy in Voltron itself for decaphoebs, as well as the more personal struggles the Paladins go through in that fact’s wake.
(So I’ll just hold you like a hand grenade/You touch me like a razor blade/I wish there was some other way right now/Like a house on fire we’re up in flames/I’d burn here if that’s what it takes/To let you know I won’t let go of you)
Belgrade, which I'M POSTING RIGHT NOW! Is the klance shenanigans in the aftermath of House on Fire and finally resolving that little plot point about Lance’s reoccurring crush.
(We pretend in the darkness/We pretend the night won’t steal our youth/Singing me the sweet songs of seduction/Let me be the fool, fool, fool/Who will live and die for you)
Here to Save You is about Sam. And Pidge. And Matt. And Zaivorg cannons.
(A slave for humankind/I made sure I would survive/To stay alive/Now it’s time to move on/When there’s nothing left to prove/I’m coming to get you)
Iron is the third Closure inspired fic, and I cannot believe I have managed to give away so little of the plot so far so we’re gonna keep it that way. But it is, as all Closure fics, about Keith and his struggles with identity.
(You can’t live without the fire/It’s the heat that makes you strong/‘Cause you’re born to live/And fight it all the way/You can’t hide what lies inside you/It’s the only thing you know/You’re embracing that, never walk away)
Storm the Castle is very related to the next few, but wouldn’t have happened without Iron. It’s our Last Marmorait making a point. One that Zarkon isn’t happy with.
(We will not be prisoners/In a kingdom taken hostage by her crown/But we will not abandon her/…Rise now, stand and fight/Take your freedom, claim your right/Rise now, stand and sing/Storm the castle, kill the king)
The second major turning point in the war is Monarch, Birthright, and Firewall. The first two are about Lotor more than anything else, and the very high level target the Coalition is after. Firewall is the same event, but focused on a very… specific thing. The Devourer is not happy, and things learned in the framing story of Through Apocalypse Skies and String Theory swing back with a vengeance.
(I am not the person you remember from before/The one you patronized and stepped on, the one you hurt/And I have pulled the arrows, now my skin has become stone/No longer am I prisoner to your empty fucking words)
(The voices in my head have all begun to sing/(The voices in your head have all begun to sing)/And they sure as hell hope I am listening/(I sure as hell hope you are listening!))
(They come to your dreams with illusion/They come to bring shape to your mind/You know how to stop the intrusion/We all have to fight for our lives)
And then… The Day the Earth Collapsed
(How much time has been elapsed/Since the day the earth collapsed?)
Here Comes the Reign doesn’t fully come into effect until several months after Firewall, but starts with The Day the Earth Collapsed. The Burning Star rampages through the universe, taking back what is rightfully Its, but the Devourer Star won’t take that lying down.
(You made something they can’t take away/Now bring the fire of the burning sun on everyone)
Supersonic is here as a microcosm of everything that happens between Firewall and Soulbound as the Colation go after the warlords, culminating in Holding Out for a Hero as the Paladins, exhausted of war and going a little crazy from their string of victories, decide to have a little fun
(Supersonic, polyphonic, this is our war/Mustering the armies, marching faster than before)
(I need a hero/I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night/He’s gotta be strong, and he’s gotta be fast/And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight)
Earthrise and But Tonight We Dance are the last Closure fic. They’re both very much klance songs, although BTWD is a little more than that. Earthrise is Lance mooning (hah), while BTWD is here to remind everyone that Keith is Very Aro. Also, Keith loses a fight with a rock.
Have I mentioned they need to stop having relationship milestones in a war zone?
(I still fall for you like suns do for skies/Cerulean pouring in from your eyes/Just a hollow moon that you colorize/So powerful, I feel so small but so alive/Like watching the Earthrise)
(Tomorrow we might wake in servitude and silence/I will give you everything if only you would have me/Tomorrow we will sweat and toil/Our hands will quiver, caked with soil/Tomorrow we’ll give it one last chance/But tonight we dance/But tonight we dance!)
Closure is placed here with the last of its fics. Closure in general is a lot of Keith’s character development, coming to terms with his identity in many ways and accepting his place in the universe and amongst his family. So this last one is then bright light at the end of the chorus, with a ‘last goodbye’ meaning never having to say goodbye.
(I am the child from the stars/That got lost in the dark/Between heaven and hell/I am forced to live on/I am the cause when you sin/I am the demon you skin/But there is no more tears to beautify/This is my last goodbye)
Alchemy and Soulbound swing us back to universe level action. Revelations from String Theory and Firewall slam themselves into a Whispers-Voltron mission, leaving them reeling and Krolia questioning her very identity in Disappear.
(Synthesized and transformed/pathetic life form)
(Soulbound, endlessly forever/Locked between the darkness and the light/Don’t drown in the swarming, blackened rising/Hold on to humanity and fight)
(Stone heart, paired with empty eyes/That stared right through mine)
Something Wicked is. Well. Too bad this song isn’t on the album Vessels.
(When all of the forces/Have been overrun/You’ll whisper, serpent tongue/What you fear you have become/Something wicked this way comes…)
Shortly after that is My Darkest Hour and Faster than Light. Haggar decides enough is enough and goes after the final piece of her puzzle with [something wicked], sending the Blade into chaos and the Coalition scrambling. And this leads directly, and I mean directly, into…
(When the sun comes crashing down/When the world is spinning round and round/I will face what must be my darkest hour)
(Once more we’re flying fast as light/Dark matter passing in the night/Pursued by a force we can’t outrun/As we hurtle towards a dying sun/We maneuver through the remnants of a moon/On the solar winds of supernovas/There is not a place to hide, the Matriarch is close behind/It’s plain to see she’s coming for us all)
Cosmic Vertigo and Other Worlds than These. Together they are the second of two revelations into the truth behind the Devoured Star and Burned Star.
(Banish me like burned down planets/Write my fate with sparkling lies/I am the universe; you’re just one sky)
(Pull the wool out from your eyes/It won’t shade your frail belief/In the end we cannot hide/There are other worlds than these)
Godhunter is Team Voltron, well, hunting pieces of the gods.
(She’s been watching for a century/With hatred, and with scorn/If you know the hunter’s coming/Then you hide or keep on running/'Cause she’s slain the gods before)
Trophy Hunter, Coldharbour, Ember, and Redemption are the culmination of Godhunter. They also link directly to Soulbound, and are one hellish battle, which is a problem because they lead directly to…
(You, you won’t escape me, I’ll rise from the deep/In this final moment, no words left to say/I can’t let you be when a life fades away/You, you won’t escape me ‘cause I’ll set you free)
(If you kill my flesh tomorrow/then I’ll take my final breath/it’ll turn into a last laugh/and I’ll lay in a silent death)
(Dark matter falling from the sky/Dancing flames reflecting in your eyes as you watch them burn/Watching all your riches witches burn)
(Remember me not for the mess I’ve made/But who I could have been/Finally I’m going home)
World on Fire, This is a Call, The Reckoning, Game Ender, The Wind that Shapes the Land, and Louder than Words. :3
(World on fire with a smoking sun/Stops everything and everyone/Brace yourself for all will pay/Help is on the way)
(This is a call to action/This is a call to arms/All lives for one, together/There are no false alarms)
(I see your face, find peace of mind/Between the madness and the sadness and the fire burning/The end of war, the great divine/We’ll see the day of reckoning)
(We will rise as one/Stop what has begun/Bringing down the main offender/If you hear me now/Scream the words out loud/We will be our own defender)
(Search within/Uncover the will to win/Turn against the tide that washes o'er/Find the strength to fall and rise again/Open up the gates, unleash the force/I am the wind that shapes the land/Old as time and twice as strong/Oceans arise at my command/I alone can carry on)
(We have the force to fight/We have the blinding light/A war is more than heard/Coming in louder than words)
Of course, we can’t leave without the denouement. World with no Sun is Haggar’s final thoughts at the end of Louder Than Words, while Diving Bell is the Paladins’.
And a sequel hook. ;D
(I wish I could give it all back/But it’s tied to the moment that I took/I followed a most selfish path/Waiting on a world that can’t see me/Waiting on a world that can’t see me/Waiting on a world that wants no one/Waiting on a world with no sun)
(Wake me when the new day comes/Together we will ride the sun/The future is an empty gun/We fire onto them one-by-one)
Dystopian Fiction
The pages of our lives aren’t bulletproof…
Dark Matter is here as it always is, but it’s also about… something super spoilery.
(Don’t stop, don’t think/Move up, don’t blink now/On your knees pray for rain/Don’t breathe when you take your aim)
Waiting on the Sky to Change is Akane’s song. It’s about ‘The Necromancer’ and her drive to fix Earth, how she’s tired of sitting around waiting. It’s time to do something.
(I’m done running towards the eyes of tornadoes/pretending this is hope)
The Human Condition is the advent of the Éshkayklos and Cascade, who oppose Project Necromancer and everything it and its champion stand for. Infected then is the slow, uhm, infection of the Sol Federation with their ideas and some of the results of that.
(We have the cure for the disease/Locked down inside us/When all is dead, then we will see/We are the virus)
(Here’s a challenge for all mankind/The preacher man is warning of the end times/The weatherman agrees but she don’t know/So she’s got to go now)
A Place I Thought I Knew is Earth, but especially Adam, in that tumultuous time after the Genesis disappears.
(And here I remain/still crying out his name/I stand alone at the dawn of a new horizon)
Who Will Save You Now is Sam’s abrupt arrival back on Earth, and several things that follow from that.
(Alone with this vision/Alone and blind/Go tell the world I’m still alive)
Tunnelvision is Team Earth going “no, fuck you Sanda and Torrent, we need to tell people about the impending alien invasion”. It helps, but…
(You took me for a fly/And fancied yourself a spider in a web of little lies/What a nice surprise/When the curtain’s pulled back, you can see the whole trap inside/And now the emperor has got no clothes/What a lovely show/When your cover’s blown, you’ll never know/'Cause you can’t see past your nose)
Codebreaker and Cross the Line are the Éshk’s final offensive before things really hit the fan in:
(Codebreaker can’t you find/Can you read between the lines of code?/Tell me all that you know/How far down the hole does it all go)
(Cross the line, redefine, break away unbent, unafraid/Together we stand in the dark/Seeking the light and what is right, together we cross the line/Our journey will come to an end and then our human cause will be/Justified)
The Day the Earth Collapsed
(How much time has been elapsed/Since the day the earth collapsed?)
Leaving Earth and Help is on the Way are the common populace dealing with the effects of the previous song. More specifically, they’re Adam’s parents, and all the horrors they never wanted to see. Dystopian Fiction, in contrast and as the title track, is the Garrison, specifically everyone left at Levitt Base, struggling against the same effects.
(We were told just to sit tight/cause somebody will soon arrive/help is on the way/but it never came)
(I’m a dead man/In the wasteland/I’m a soldier fighting for superstition/Under searchlights/In the long nights/We’ve been written like dystopian fiction)
World on Fire and The Reckoning are the two songs of that big finale that make it over here, as they’re the ones that have bits that happen before This is a Call comes into full effect.
(Sent by forces beyond salvation/There can be not one sensation)
(We’re all alone, walking in twilight/The night has been long and so many have fallen/Feel no remorse, light will be breaking/Our freedom is worth it all)
Through Apocalypse Skies
Chaos will triumph this day!
TAS starts off setting the stage for everything.  Not all of the five main members of the Daibaaltea-Taibderion Alliance have songs yet, but they will eventually. Holy Flaming Hammer of Unholy Cosmic Frost more sets the stage for everything broadly, about how the five of them fit together, and the trouble brewing under the surface. Hail to Crail is Altea, more specifically the Knights of Zhael. Questlords of Inverness, Ride to Galactic Fortress is the Dalteri, with focus on the flagship Invernes itself. Fellows of the Hammer is the Aberdéts, because, well, dwarves. And guess what’s back for the Galra: Remnants of Stars
The Taibdee will get one. Eventually.
(Behold the knights of Crail/atop the city walls/they swore a mighty oath to say/Dundee will never fall!)
(Here every day the warriors train/in the art of epic fights/riding on eagles, questing so true/a legion of powerful knights emblazoned cross the sky/hear the kingdom cry/hail to Crail!)
(Ride on the wind and hail to the king/when the questlords of Inverness ride)
(The new blood of the realm now/flows from the seven stars/and spoken by all of us/to be strong when the time comes/is the oath made by everyone)
(As children of space/with stardust in our veins/we will give in to know the truth/we are the remnants of stars)
Rigor Mortis is the Voltron Comet slamming into Daibazaal. The beginning of the end. Dark Matter rises from its open, frozen maw.
(Hydrate in violence/the darkness that you see/awaken the virus/to spread your disease)
(Bring me your soul, bring me your hate/in my name you will create/bring me your fear, bring me your pain/you will destroy in my name)
The Promise is exactly what it sounds like: the first of the Harbingers making a deal with the devil. Alchemy and No Remorse, No Regrets are her experiments in this context, echoed throughout the other playlists.
(It won’t cost you much, just a single drop of blood and I’ll hand you the things you have long been wishing for/ it’s an easy way to choose, what do you have to lose?)
(Drink me/you know I can guide you through oblivion/trust me/I know what’s inside you makes you bleed)
(Strange persuasion/clearing the way to the clearest path/dreams illuminating/parting the seas to take it back)
Summon the Choir is a success, from a certain point of view.
(First blood from cosmic wonders/a dark flood of power from under)
Can You Hear It? is… well. Remember the Sinkline Comet?
(Can you hear it?/the tolls of madness ringing/do you fear it?/an ancient choir is singing/all consuming/calling to me/in a dream, it’s a thorn I can’t dig out/can’t you hear it too?/if you listen close now)
Unfortunately, all that leads right into The End of the World, the end of Daibazaal. All is quiet for a moment, like the happy little whistle at the beginning of the next song.
(Sold on a dream, of a future serene/then why does it feel like the end of the world?)
Then we record scratch into The Fall. She Will Weep is a dialogue between two siblings, unwilling to compromise on their ideals, even if they ultimately want the same thing: peace and stability for their recently displaced people. But the one who’s side god is on, who is crucified but still alive, escapes to Altea, bringing the horrors with her to the Battle of the Five Armies. (Yes, this is a LotR song, but also, guess what serves a very similar purpose to the arkenstone. I’ve been looking for a song explicitly about the arkenstone to stick in here, but haven’t found one. I’m surprised Wind Rose doesn’t have one tbh). Crack the Sky is… it’s not quite a literal crack in the sky, but it might as well be. All of this is Apocalypse 1992
(What used to be two loving hearts/what we felt at the start/somewhere down the barrel of a gun/it was all torn apart)
(Confounded, distracted/trapped by a stone of power/Ensorcelled, corrupted/await the final hour)
(I know that you hate me but I think that I can live with that/last man standing, last resort/I’d rather walk alone than save myself)
(Fly high through apocalypse skies/fight for the world we must save/like tears of a unicorn lost in the rain/chaos will triumph this day)
But again, we can’t leave it without the denouement. Silent Tears of Frozen Princess, Ashes, and Apex are all the perspectives of survivors of the Fall, waiting, watching. Voltron will rise again.
(Frozen princess in this land of fears/your mighty kingdom has fallen/I see the glitter of your silent tears/afar in the wuthering dark)
(What will we do when the world it is ending/and time it is halted for friend and for foe/try to hold on to the time as it passes/I’ll tend to the flame, you can worship the ashes)
(Brother mountain, now we sleep/for a thousand years/I will see you again/something is coming/coming for me)
Endless War
‘Cause you’re fighting an endless war, hunting a miracle…
The beginning of Endless War is from one of the perspectives of She Will Weep, the other sibling than we follow during most of TAS. Dark Matter here intwines with I Am the One far, far earlier than the Paladins of the present time figure it out. That’s what happens when one stands directly next to two Harbingers throughout most of Apocalypse 1992.
(Don’t stop, don’t think, don’t look back/You’re a bolt of lightning in the sky now/Don’t stop, don’t think, don’t look back/I’ve pulled you in, nowhere to hide now)
(I am the one/I hold the dreams from fallen heroes)
(From the caves beneath Dundee/Ancient hermit arrives/A messenger to the war in the stars/Korviliath is nigh!)
Ashes is a needed perspective of one sibling on another, the beginning of the Fifth General questioning her orders. Meanwhile, remember how I said Alchemy was an experiment of the Witch’s?
(What will we do when the world it is ending/And time it is halted for friend and for foe?/Try to hold on to the time as it passes/I’ll tend to the flame, you can worship the ashes)
(Take the poisoned cup/you cannot hide behind golden shrines/you can be the one in crisis, give into your greed)
The Truth Beneath the Rose is the birth of the Fifth General of the Blade of Marmora, although no one calls her that yet. Raise Your Banner is her newfound resolve and her first steps to creating what will become the Blade.
(Blinded to see the cruelty of the beast/It is the darker side of me/The veil of my dreams deceived that I have seen/Forgive me for what I have been, forgive me my sins!)
(Wake up/I’m defying you, seeing right through you, once I believed in you/Wake up/Feel what’s coming deep within we all know)
Silver Moonlight is her ultimate goal, but not everyone agrees with it. Not everyone thinks it’s even possible, or that it still exists, or that this will be anything but an Endless War.
(I’m impatient, but it’s colors that I need/Too many shades of grey, I cannot breathe/The dreams I have ain’t tainted, I need you to believe/The only way to make them real, oh)
('Cause you’re fighting an endless war/Hunting a miracle/And when you reach out for the stars/They just cut you down/…/Is it worth dying for?/Or are you blinded by, blinded by it all?)
Of course, the fact is that the Endless War does end. Alchemy’s effects are still strong, even as they fight Against the Tide. The Fifth General is betrayed on Holy Ground, with her final stand in I’d Rather Burn.
(I finally get what you’ve been saying/now that we’re knee deep side by side/the storm clouds are circling above us/as we struggle against the tide)
(You got inside my head, I want you out/'Cause I’ve been betrayed on holy ground)
(Won’t let you take my soul away/I’d rather go to the stake/I’d rather burn)
But even that isn’t enough. Empty Eyes and The Departure are [beeeeeeeeeeep]
(I don’t know where I’m going/In search for answers/I don’t know who I’m fighting/I stand with empty eyes/You’re like a ghost within me/Who’s draining my life/It’s like my soul is see through/Right through my empty eyes)
Filaments
Filaments is intimately connected to both the main playlist and the following one, and I’m doing my best to explain some things, but some you’ll have to wait and see.
How long is the body beholden? How long ‘til we run out of road?
First Light is the dawn of something… a little different. Filaments is the title track, and I’m not going to say more than it’s connected to the same exact things First Light is.
(We can change our fate. We can change the future. We can change… the past)
(These glowing filaments/Conducting this enchanting/Sarcophagus that’s holding us)
Starlight and Carry Me Home are primarily adashi songs, but also follow the transition between the two playlists’ proper stories, as well as Shiro’s retirement from Voltron.
(Don’t leave me lost here forever/I need your starlight and pull me through/Bring me back to you)
(Carry me home to the morning light/carry me home before you wave me goodbye/Oh, carry me home…)
Prognosis is about record skips that only certain people can remember, and the decision that it’s time to back into The Breach.
(How long is the body beholden?/How long 'til we run out of road?/Deep down in the black of the ocean/Fading from the glow)
(Follow me/Follow me now once more into the breach/Can you see?/Can you see how this is the way to destiny?)
This next part is supposed to act similarly to the beginning of TAS. there is an overarching story, but there’s more specific songs for specific… well, Other Worlds Than These. Right now the only song here is Masters of Destiny though, which is also sort of an overarching thing and also sort of a single world. We’ll get there. Of course, as these things sort themselves out, Something Wicked this way comes.
(In the end we cannot hide/there are other worlds than these)
(I used to be sure it’s me who sleeps/but can it be/somewhere there’s a life/that dreams of me?)
(And it clawed/Back in the world again/Here for a new revenge/An enemy I can’t condemn)
The Art of War is the beginning of the end, with Cascade finally showing his true colors, the Sol Federation not having a good time, and Voltron getting dragged into it. But the consequences…
(I can remember all the days of violence/I can remember all the days they fought for rights/When men united all by fear and interest/I mustered them with hopeful promises I’ve broken)
The Future is Now and Tresspasser sort of take place during The Art of War, sort of not. Team Voltron is trying to figure out where their Black Paladin is, why exactly all their sensors are so incredibly broken, and what’s up with Krolia. Meanwhile, Keith is in the middle of an argument with himself.
(They said there was no way/But they forgot the black hole in the sky/Yesterday is nothing/I have half a life to rewrite)
(Where’s my heart?/I want to feel whole again or nothing at all/Where’s my soul?/Because I’m not myself)
Centigrade is Keith exposing a fraud, and Team Voltron [BEEEP], and Miserable Me is very related
(What did you hope to find adrift and lost in time?/Is this the end ready to begin?/It’s time to escape the fate of destruction, excavating within until salvation/No longer pretend the future’s a lie from a past you cannot hide)
(history misunderstood this deity/miserable me!/oh why is the deep dark shored sea the only friend to me?)
This all leads into Unveiling the Architecture, Altas Obscura, Dark Matter, and A Theater of Dimensions. No I will not be explaining.
(All human history a sigh from their endless lungs)
(I am the keeper/I am the secret/I am the answer/I am the end)
(I’ve seen our freedom in the mist of time/The old signs I’ll follow and the day of relief will be yours and mine)
Afterlife and For They Shall Inherit the Earth are a fitting denouement to everything. The Immortal has frequently been used in place of Voltron within the playlists, which given the parallels means it make sense to end on this note.
(But with such power, think how you could rule/Hold to your promise to watch over those in despair/Why would you choose to serve when you could be master of all?/Be true to your honor and fight for a world that is fair!/Out of shadow, out of darkness, welcome to the light/As the day shines boldly over night/Follow me to finally be who you are inside/Open wide, embrace the afterlife)
For Who I Could Have Been
Your world will fail my love, it’s far beyond repair…
Conflict is also connected to Filaments in ways I will not explain here. Something Wicked is almost the same thing it was in Filaments proper.
(Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster…)
(A prisoner of time and space/Construct we can’t escape/A fleeting moment alive)
(When all of the forces have been overrun/you’ll whisper, serpent tongue/what you fear you have become)
Rise and Fall serves a very similar purpose to the Art of War. It ends with The Art of Bargaining.
(You push my back against the wall/when I attack I’m taking all)
(I might be guilty but can a person change/I’ll say it like I mean it but believe it, that’s insane/You’re only making this harder/I’ll make you an offer/An offer you can’t refuse)
Widowmaker, Eon, and Reset Rewind are all about a single decision that changes the fate of the universe.
(Rise above the shadows putting forth your hands/God will shield his eyes in spite of all your prayers and he will not hear/Your hands, stained of blood/What have we become from a smoking gun?/What have we become)
(If time’s a song I won’t wait for it’s reprise/I am done wishing farewells and goodbyes)
(Erase bad times/create a timeline/with the pleasure/heavier than all the pain)
Frequency, Your World Will Fail, The Future is Now, and The End of the World are the fallout of that decision.
(And now the silence screams that you are gone/you’ve tuned me out, I’ve lost your frequency)
(Your world will fail my love/It’s far beyond repair/Your world will fail/If you are alive you must run for your life)
(They said there was no way/But they forgot the black hole in the sky/Yesterday is nothing/I have half a life to rewrite)
(Is everyone everywhere forsaking?/ or is there anybody else out there?)
So, in a way, is Dark Matter and A Theater of Dimensions.
(Tear down hollows/Take back eternity)
(I’ve seen our freedom in the mist of time/The old signs I’ll follow and the day of relief will be yours and mine)
It’s such a quiet thing, to fall. Far more terrible is to admit it, and to fix it. But that’s what the catalyst does in Redemption, Endlessness, and For They Shall Inherit the Earth.
(To know that your days are numbered/To know that your time is short/Death is what gives life meaning/So who will you be at the end of the road?)
(Soon, beyond the fields you’ve come to know/You will join the silent flow/Follow me, I am the spark/At the end of everything/Tip the reaper to ensure/The blade is sharp/As soon we’ll go/Follow me into the dark/To the birth of everything)
Design Your Universe
(this playlist is DM canon. But it’s not the DM canon we know and love. We will get to see at least part of it. Eventually.)
Who decides about what’s true or false?
Dark Matter, because it’s not DM without it
(So climb up and come clean/Move back the smoke screen/It’s all here, it’s all you/Get clear on the darker view)
Divide and Conquer explains where things changed from the DM canon we know and love. It’s about how a dictator, no matter their intentions, is never the correct choice.
(Seek the mastermind/The one who’s always right/We’re searching now and endlessly to set us free/Seek the mastermind (Seek the mastermind)/There’s no one you will find)
Martyr of the Free World is a very specific piece of that change from main canon, while Black Smoke Assimilation is what she leaves behind
(If you gun down the messenger/You guarantee that she will be made/Into a saint/A martyr of the free word)
(Out of reach/I planted you, the seed/You’re learning to believe/That you’re the one that changes everything, everything)
Cosmic Vertigo is here for the same reason as in the main playlist
(Just enjoy it while it lasts/Cling not to the broken past)
The Land of Unicorns is Gloryhammer finally making a comeback, and Team Voltron meeting up with, well, Team Voltron.
(Ride far away, cross the mighty River Tay/Over mountains into the unknown/Follow your heart, let it guide you through the dark/To the Land of Unicorns)
Legendary Enchanted Jetpack is a journey into the depths of the Altean Empire. Return to Me is another fight over the Black Lion, but the players aren’t who you think, which is the final goal of Storm the Castle
(Quest for Fife to end pain and strife/in search of the enchanted engine)
(Return what you have taken from me/Rightfully mine, I will not allow this, thief/Think you know this weapon in your hands?/You are a fool, I am his only command)
(We will not be prisoners/In a kingdom taken hostage by her crown)
Unleashed is from the perspective of The Matriarch, for once, showing a little about how this version of her was not particularly willing
(Where was I meant to be?/I feel I’m lost in a dream/Long for the day I can be myself/Free)
Hootsforce and The Epic Rage of Furious Thunder are a final battle.
(Fight for the king, for the hammer and the ring/Fight for the ancient story)
(In the epic rage of furious thunder, legends create their tales/when the twilight calls and the dark lord falls our glory will prevail!)
Design Your Universe, as the title track of this one, is all about how a simple change can change the world. It’s also uh…. pretty literal
(We can’t undo what we have done/So show us now what we’ve become/Confront us with our viciousness/And our weakness/We can’t evade our destiny/So show responsibility/For we all surely have a sense/Of our consciousness)

Thoughts on Emblem Paralogues #1
Doing this again with the base game paralogues cuz as a longtime FE fan it’s cool to see how a celebration game shows its love. I’m not really doing them in the order they unlocked, so this is mostly a random assortment.
For starters I like how for the most part, the throwback maps have pretty much the exact same enemy composition. Very wonderful and nostalgic.
Lucina, The Exalt: This one’s good. It makes for a good start to the overall reference paralogues, cuz of it’s simplicity. Wish I had more to say, but it really is that cut and dry lol. I guess I wish there was more reference to the fact that Lucina traveled back in time to prevent the bad future, but I guess that’s what bond conversations are for.
Lyn, The Lady of the Plains: I had lots of fun with this one haha, though I guess it’s cuz I was a tad overleveled when I did it. I heard the OG map in FE6 was very hated, or at least the Sacae route was disliked a lot in comparison to the Ilia one. I read that the original version had fake-out thrones that spawned reinforcements, so I would think that’d piss first time players off. The one thing that I’m kind of iffy on though is just the decision of using this map for Lyn. I know FE7 doesn’t have notable Sacae maps to choose from (I think the first 3 chapters of Lyn’s mode are the only ones, which would suck as throwbacks lol), and that her association with Mulagir thanks to FEH means it’s appropriate to choose this map in particular, but I think chapter 10 or 15 from FE7 could’ve served as good rep maps for her. It’d let her discuss her mixed heritage and connection to Eliwood and Hector, I feel. Oh well, not too fussed about it, since I do love when Lyn talks about Sacae.
Ike, The Radiant Hero: This one’s great. Ike destroying the entire castle was fucking hilarious, and I think it’s a perfect choice for his paralogue given it’s when he first took leadership of the Greil Mercs and had to establish himself as a fighter and protector who can hold out against terrible odds. Though a complaint on that front is that I wish there was some kind of defense-like objective, even though like I said, Ike one shotting a whole castle is funny. Shout-out to the mage in the same place as Ilyana and drops Elthunder, neat reference.
Byleth, The Instructor: Very much liked this one, aside from one aspect: healers with warp aspects (lol plot teleporting in 3H). Byleth’s dancing I can handle, but damn my OCD ridden brain hated beating the map without protecting all the crystals. Though I think I got the best reward anyway, it’s very lenient. Liked the House Leader stand-ins, but surprise surprise, there’s nobody representing Rhea, Seteth, or Flayn despite this being the tomb of their brethren :/ It’s also again indicative of how averse the devs are of associating Byleth with anything beyond being a teacher, cuz one could argue that chapter 10 could’ve been a better choice and still had the “power depends on the heart of its wielder” aesop cuz it dealt with Jeralt’s death and Byleth being granted Sothis’ power in the first place. But whatever, details, details.
Sigurd, The Holy Knight: My favorite of the ones I’ve done so far. I think it’s a great way to represent Sigurd through a Gen 2 map and it gave a fair challenge. The Arvis stand-in with Meteor is hilarious. I really, really regret not getting the goddess icon from the tile that references Seliph’s talk with ghost Sigurd and Deirdre, that little easter egg is so fucking cute 😭 Sigurd’s talk about revenge and there being more than one truth shows just how great of a character he is (and his significance in Engage kind of points to more evidence that FE4 is probs getting remade soon). But the coolest part of the map are the Julius and Ishtar stand-ins. It took all of my brain power to take them out without anyone dying, but I did it! Using the Tiki bracelet came in clutch, cuz even if an attack like Ice Breath misses, it still damages adjacent enemies for the calculated damage. Widdling away at Julius was very satisfying.
I’ll do the rest of the paralogues some time, trust lol.

Guidelines in my faith say not to get tattoos. I’ve been reconsidering some things lately, one of those being the dress and grooming standards, and have been thinking of what tattoos I might get if it became allowed, or if I find it isn’t something I am strongly against.
A broken sword - The sword of Luke the Warrior Redwall was a big part of my childhood. An important symbol in the series is the sword of Martin the Warrior. Forged from the steel of a fallen star on the hilt of the sword of Martin’s father, the blade passes from hand to hand, champion to champion, famous, thought to be magic. Unbreakable.  Before Martin’s sword came Luke’s. A sword passed from father to son, used to protect, until it was broken. A sword Martin was willing to fight to reclaim, and whose remnants he carried around his neck until the blade was reforged.  Martin’s sword was glorious and famed. Luke’s was unknown. But Martin’s sword was built from it. To me, the broken sword is more impactful. It’s an oath kept, as well as a family connection reframed. It shows even the strong break, and can be rebuilt.
The Lightweaver Symbol My order of Knight Radiant from the Stormlight Archive is Lightweaver. The oaths of the Lightweavers past the first are actually truths that the knight has been hiding from, or similar. Lightweaving itself is about illusions, about stories, about transformation. Truth through illusions is a concept that fascinates me. I often feel a strong connection to masks, costumes, and similar, to exadurate characteristics to show a truth by reframing it. Also, the symbol itself is pretty neat.
Era 1 Allomancy Tin Symbol Believe it or not, this has almost nothing to do with the symbol and a lot to do with the metal Tin itself and the Allomantic powers it has in Mistborn. Tin enhances the senses. Increases sight, strengthens hearing, boosts touch. To the characters in the Mistborn series, Tin often means spying on people, running through mists in the dark, and watching for danger. To me, Tin is reading under the covers with a flashlight with ears pricked so I can hide my light if a parent comes in. It is straining my eyes to see in the dimness of the hall and wishing I could see just a little better to ensure there aren’t snakes hiding there. It is hugging someone and wanting to feel it more. Tin is my past made into magic.
Dragons There is almost no reason for this other than that dragons are incredible and fascinating and beautiful. Dragons are sometimes creatures of fire. They are often creatures of air. There isn’t one ‘true’ kind of dragon.  Dragons are one of my fascinations, and one of my most important and developing writing projects is surrounding the descendents of dragons. If I were to get a dragon tattoo, it would be either wings outstretched or curled.  When we were playing a Would You Rather card game, my brothers and I asked our mum what tattoos she would pick for us, and she actually suggested a dragon for me.
Talan Runes In one of my writing projects, the magic system requires runes to be written in ink on the users. This can be tattoos, or it could be more like using a pen to draw on yourself. The runes themselves tend to be things that have significance, and what they do exactly depends on the intentions of the user. I am uncertain what runes I would get. Alzu (freedom or flight), monu (vision), sochu (protection), sonu (voice), and zara (knowledge) are all meanings that I would like. It would also be possible to use a combination.
Other Writing Project Elements Such as wings (not feathered), like the protagonist in my second novel attempt hid, until she learned to fly. The swirls made by the spikes of a magic system in one of my major fantasy projects, in geometric patterns.  Vines twined into a quote from a character, or simply a quote.
Chances of these being used are debateable. I need to think through the reasoning behind the no-tattoo suggestion and see if it still holds. But these are some ideas of meaningful tattoos I might consider.

(requested by anonymous) Pramanix, Cliffheart, Nearl, and Blemishine hanging out
While Margaret Nearl was living in Kazimierz for a time, she occasionally returned to Rhodes Island’s main ship to check in with the family members she could easily reach - wherever Mlynar had gone, he certainly hadn’t left a forwarding address, so it fell to her to see that Zofia and Maria were settling into their new roles without major issues (heh, Major, Kazimierz, bad puns).
Zofia was easy to find: training Operators or hanging out at the bar. While it was an open secret she was the Radiant Knight’s aunt (thanks, Maria), plenty of RI’s bachelors were more than happy to throw back a couple drinks with her, and every now and again Marge had to play gatekeeper on Whislash’s behalf. Not just anyone could be her uncle-in-law…
Maria, though, was trickier. She’d also settled into the rhythm of RI very well, which meant working with Engineering and getting into any number of messes. More specifically, the younger Nearl worked with Vulcan to help with weapon and armor maintenance, which exposed her to more Operators, which meant she’d made friends with dozens of Operators from all walks of life, and when Big Sister Margaret visited, she wanted to introduce her to them more often than not.
All that to say, when the Radiant Knight found Blemishine and Cliffheart sitting at lunch together, talking as if they’d been friends since childhood, it was pretty clear to her how she’d be spending her evening.
“Good afternoon, Nearl!” Ensia beamed at the new arrival before realizing how strange that sounded. “Actually, you’re both Nearls, aren’t you? That might get a little confusing.”
“Feel free to call me Margaret for clarity’s sake,” the knight entreated.
The Feline gave her a thumbs-up. “Thanks for that. Maria was just saying she wanted to introduce me to her sister, but we already kinda know each other, don’t we?”
“Oh, you do?” Blem cocked her head. “Did you ever go on missions together?”
“A few, yes, though rarely working directly together due to our respective roles as Operators,” Margaret explained.
Cliff nodded. “If she’d been fighting like she did at that Major you two were in, though, boy oh boy, things would’ve been different. Who knew you could use your light so offensively, too?”
“At the time, Rhodes Island needed more support than destructive power.” She smirked. “Your brother provided enough force during many of the most dangerous operations.”
“Encio’s a beast, yeah…Kinda scary knowing he’s got that kind of power at his disposal, and Anya’s literally the Priestess, and all I’ve got’s a grappling hook and some rocks on my skin, but as long as we’re all on the same side, it’ll be fine.”
Maria’s eyes lit up at the mention of the other SilverAsh sister. “That reminds me - do you know Anya, sister?”
“Not on a first name basis,” the Radiant Knight readily admitted, “but again, we’ve been on some missions together.”
“In that case, are you free tonight? We’re gonna watch a movie at Pramanix’s place - you can join us if you want.” Blemishine beamed ‘please hang out with us’ energy at her sister with every fiber of her being.
It worked. “I accept your invitation.”
“Great!” The mechanic turned back to Cliffheart. “Did Anya say yes yet?”
“Oh, yeah, like an hour ago. She asked if any of us knows how to cook or if she can order food now.”
The Kurantas shared a glance. “She can order,” Maria replied.
“Cool! Hopefully she can still do that.” Ding! “Oh, good, she can. I honestly thought she’d be asleep.”
“Asleep? I have often seen her on the Doctor’s couch…” The older Nearl had quite vivid memories of that, now that she thought about it.
Ensia chuckled. “Yeah, she says it’s peaceful in his office. Alright, I’ve gotta get back to it, but I’ll see you both tonight!”
“Definitely!” Blemishine stood up to leave as well. “I’ve gotta run - Chiave asked me to help him with something he’s working on. Said it’s a gift for someone; no idea who for, though.”
“Alright, I’ll see you tonight.” ‘Thankfully they left before the meal line closed…’ She quickly but deliberately grabbed a tray and hoped there would be something she enjoyed left to order.
-----
Margaret met Maria outside Pramanix’s door, dressed for a girls’ night in but still not completely prepared mentally. She wasn’t the kind to get rumors dissuade her, but the only interactions she’d had with the Priestess were said rumors or seeing her asleep. Who knew the sort of person Anya SilverAsh was?
Well, Blemishine, for one, as once her sister arrived, she happily walked through the unlocked door. “We’re here! Hope we’re not too early?”
“Hey! Not at all.” Cliffheart was on the couch, fiddling with the color settings on Anya’s television, as they walked in. “Need any help, Anya?”
“Another pair of hands would be nice,” she replied from…the kitchen? When Ensia didn’t get up to help, Margaret decided to see what the situation was.
In short: ice cream. Soooo much ice cream. “Nearl? Did Ensia not get up when she asked?”
“She and my sister are fine-tuning the television, I believe.” Laughter from the direction of the couch. “How can I help?”
“Thank you. Everything’s out of the freezer, but there’s some stuff in the fridge still...”
Two pairs of hands, even one completely unfamiliar with how their possessor’s host had her kitchen laid out, made quick work of what would’ve taken just long enough for the Priestess alone to cause the ice cream to start melting. Not that it mattered terribly much - Kjera was always a prayer away, after all - but it set Pramanix at ease that the older Kuranta sister, like herself, was the more mature sister.
With Anya’s sundae bar put together and the TV’s color balance perfected, everything was ready for a classic Kjerag movie night. The SilverAsh sisters sat on either side of Maria on an absolutely luxurious couch by Rhodes Island standards - it was wide enough for everyone to share, and comfortably - with Margaret next to the Priestess. As spoons clinked and the previews began, Blemishine asked, “What movie are we watching, Ensy?”
“The movie I was telling you about the other day,” the Specialist replied. “Weiss plays the lead.”
“Ooh, ‘Love Thaws in Snowfall?’ You made it sound cool, although I’m not sure I’ve seen a Kjerag drama before.” The mechanic glanced over at the Knight, who was even more lost because the name ‘Weiss’ was unfamiliar.
Anya whispered to Margaret, “You know him by his codename: Operator Courier.”
“Courier?” She vaguely remembered him from a couple of operations. “He’s an actor?”
“Only when Ensia can convince him. Especially if there’s an excuse for him to take off his shirt in a hot spring.” A pillow launched at Pramanix from the other side of Blemishine; it didn’t phase her in the slightest.
‘An excuse to take his shirt off’ was definitely underselling it; by the end, the Nearl sisters had seen more of the Itra’s body than most of Medical, although the filmmakers were very careful with their angles throughout. Cliffheart was thoroughly teased by her sister and friend - during a particularly steamy scene she got a brain freeze - and even though the Radiant Knight was quiet for most of it, she enjoyed herself. Listening to Maria gasp and giggle with her friends was a new treat almost sweet enough to keep her mind off the ice cream.
Almost. “Can I get you another sundae?” Margaret asked Anya as the credits began to play.
“Are you getting one for yourself?” She glanced at the pair next to her, who were busy teasing each other about their reactions to the spicier moments of the movie. “If you are, I’ll go with you.”
“As you’d like. Maria, do you want anything while I’m up?”
Both younger sisters shook their heads despite only one being asked. As Nearl and Pramanix walked into the kitchen, the Feline closed the door behind them and sighed. “Can I ask you something?”
“Of course.” The Kuranta went to the half-empty tub of vanilla ice cream, counting out three scoops. “This is as good a time as any for us to get to know each other.”
“That’s one way of putting it…You’re a married woman, if I’ve heard correctly?” The Priestess scraped out the last of the coffee ice cream gallon she’d had mostly to herself.
The question caught Margaret off-guard enough that she almost lost her bowl; fortunately, her arms were almost as fast as her legs, so disaster was averted. “Married? This would be the first I’ve heard of it.”
“Oh. So you and Operator Shining are just friends?” A blank stare from Nearl as Anya chuckled. “That answers that.”
“As far as we’ve made clear to each other, there’s nothing of a romantic nature between us.” Where were the bells that rang in her ears just then? She didn’t see them, certainly.
Pramanix topped her ‘sundae’ (just sloppily stacked spheres of coffee ice cream) with a pile of chocolate syrup as she continued. “That’s what I get for trusting the local gristmill, I suppose. Are you seeing anyone?”
“I haven’t had much time for a romance…” Well, that was half-true. “Outside of novels, at least.”
“A fellow woman of culture; just as I’d hoped. I’m looking for some suggestions for new books. Are there any you’re particularly fond of?”
That was like asking if fire was hot. “I have a few.”
“Fantastic. Let me just see how they’re getting on.” The Priestess popped her head out the door, made a mental note, and closed the door again. “They’ll probably head to Ensia’s room soon. Follow me to my study?”
“Um, certainly…Ensia’s room?” Were they-
Anya giggled softly. This Kuranta was an open book, and all the pages were fun reading. “Blemmy’s planning a climbing trip with her. I asked them not to talk about it around me because they make me tired just listening to them.”
“I see.” A sigh of relief. ‘She would tell me if that was what was happening.
“Don’t worry about them too much. They’re both adults.” A snicker as Nearl blushed.
If she was this red before they’d started talking about their novels? Not even Flametail’s hair would be able to compete by the time that conversation got underway.

Let's play a game folks: Which Orders of the Knights Radiant Would Each Member of the Mighty Nein Belong to?
(Aka: the Stormlight Archive equivalent of sorting your favorite characters into Hogwarts Houses).
This is something that's been bouncing around in my head off and on for literal years. It's a little tricky, because a few of the Orders (Elsecallers, Stonewards, and Dustbringers especially) have received very little screentime so far; for those who need a refresher on what each of the orders is about, I'm mostly relying on the information on this webpage; it's also a decent primer on the Radiants for Critical Role fans who haven't read the Stormlight Archive and want to know WTF I'm talking about. I suspect the audience for this post is going to be small, but fuck it, I'm doing it anyways.
In descending order of certainty.
Jester: Lightweaver, easy. She's an artist, she deals in subterfuge and illusions a lot, and her speech to Caleb about how "we all lie sometimes" fits really well with their ideals. Lightweavers are also known for bringing joy to others through art and entertainment, and for helping others see the best in themselves. Both of those describe Jester to a T
(trying to imagine Artagan as her Cryptic, though, makes my brain segfault)
Beau: also easy, Truthwatcher. This order is very concerned with discovering and spreading knowledge, with a significant minority specifically interested in making sure those in power are being honest with the ones they lead. That's the entire guiding philosophy of the Cobalt Soul.
Yasha: Windrunner. For a long time I was really unsure about where she'd fit. Then I watched the episode where the Stormlord asked her why she fights, and her answer was "to protect." That's what the Windrunners are all about. Though I can't see her being part of a formal military hierarchy like Kaladin's Windrunners have; I think she'd operate independently or as part of a loosely organized group.
Also, they can fly.
Fjord: Willshaper. This order is all about freedom and exploration, and that's a perfect fit for a paladin who swore the Oath of the Open Sea. Willshapers are also one of the two Orders that can teleport, and Fjord has a shit ton of teleportation spells. Bonus: his pact weapon and Armor of Agathys already function like a Shardblade and Shardplate
Caleb: my gut says Elsecaller, though we don't know a ton about them. That order is described as thoughtful and wise, their oaths are themed around reaching your potential, and they tend to attract a lot of scholars. Much of Caleb's arc involved him trying to reach his fullest potential as a wizard. Plus, their Soulcasting abilities are a good match for Transmutation. However, I think you could also make a case for Dustbringer: their oaths are all about mastering yourself and the destructive abilities you wield. Plus they're the order most known for burning stuff.
Molly/Kingsley: Willshaper again. The description in the link provided literally says: "The Willshapers contain many gregarious and even flamboyant characters who make their own way, taking the path they choose." And doesn't that describe him to a T?
Essek: for a while I wanted to say Truthwatcher, because he's very keen on discovering knowledge and unlocking the secrets of dunamancy. And I do love the poignancy of him getting healing powers. But given that his entire arc is all about him realizing that he wants to be a better person, and struggling to figure out how to do that, I'm more inclined to put him with the Elsecallers. And it would be fitting for him to be in the same order as Caleb.
(it's a shame, though, that neither of the orders with gravity powers fit him at all)
Veth: Stoneward. This might seem odd at first glance, given that that order is known for attracting jocks and soldier types. But if Veth had one guiding principle, it's that once she's adopted you, she'll do just about anything for you. She's the one who gave us "the only choice we've consistently made is to take care of our friends." That fits the "I will be there when I am needed" ideal pretty well.
Caduceus: Him I'm least sure of. On a thematic level, Edgedancers are the best fit, since they're the order most known for healing, they attract a lot of clergy, and their spren are sapient plant people. On the other hand, the Edgedancer ideals are all about remembering the forgotten little people of society, and that's not really a Caduceus thing.
Edit: multiple commenters have convinced me that Caduceus, who devotes his life to tending the graves and remembering the stories of the dead, is in fact a perfect fit for the Edgedancers, so I stand corrected about that.
The one thing I can be absolutely sure of is that absolutely none of these chaotic, rule-breaking chucklefucks are Skybreakers.
