Hi! I'm using your Tangerine theme on my sims 4 sideblog (@brachio-ts4cc-finds) & I love it. It's so colorful & customizable! I'm currently trying to make a tag navi page, so I downloaded your Petunia navi page but I can't figure out how to add it. I see that it says in the code "search 'edit here'" but when I searched that in the Tangerine html nothing came up. I looked through the tangerine tag, answers tag, & faq but didn't find anything. How do I implement it? Is there something I'm missing?
hi pages are separate from your main theme, make sure ur searching “edit here” in the page code - instructions for Petunia are not gonna show up in Tangerine

me rambling about power rangers again.
something that’s bothered me since 2014 and Super Megaforce’s finale (The Legendary Battle) is during the cameo portion where we see past rangers rescuing people while in their civilian forms, we see Tommy in white and using Saba to rescue that one kid from the car that’s teetering on the bridge. Okay, not unusual in this situation since we’re seeing other past rangers doing similarly and they’re all in their past ranger colors.
But then this asshole (term of endearment at this point) shows up to the battle as the Green Ranger. Yes yes, many of us likely screamed in joy at this - i know I certainly did.
Now, on top of this unbridled joy at seeing my favorite Ranger form of all is the problem of knowing his most recent form is Black Brachio Ranger and the only one he technically still has access to is the Red Zeo Ranger 5, and we know THIS because of Forever Red. The Zeo powers weren’t given away or lost like literally all the others - they were passed over in favor of the Turbo powers because they were needed to get through the dimension barrier to Muiranthias and fight Divatox’s minions - we know this from the Turbo movie.
So yeah, he’s a big giant “what the fuck is going on here!” kind of problem in my brain and had been for 4 years until Dimensions in Danger aired and we were all treated to the reveal of the Master Morpher. A morpher which allows him access to all his past Ranger forms and at least 1 zord (but we can assume he has access to all his former zords because fuck it why not at this point).
Now.... the HOW he got those powers back, got the Master Morpher and all is still a mystery but one that probably will never properly be solved.
but damn it, my brain is trying to do just that any fucking way.
Why am I talking about all of this now? in 2021 - so many years after we’ve got the answer to how he was able to use both Saba AND the Green Ranger form at the Legendary Battle, and how he was able to use his Black Brachio form in Dimensions in Danger?
Because i’m bored, it’s late, i can’t sleep after a rather long nap earlier today/during the entire evening, and i’ve got nothing better to do than research for some Power Ranger crossover fics i’m writing.
And re-watching past episodes from my DVD collection I was reminded of another asshole in canon that’s thrown a wrench into the works.
And his name? Tom Oliver. Or as many of us affectionately call this asshole, Tommy’s Evil Clone. The evil clone that turned good and decided to live in the past during colonial times. The evil clone that HAD A WORKING AND FULLY FUNCTIONAL DRAGONZORD GREEN RANGER COIN AND MORPHER.
That’s right. That asshole. Who I completely forgot about until I re-watched the damn thing and then went to the wiki to reaqauint myself with him. And since TECHNICALLY he’s Tommy (and POSSIBLY an ancestor of Original Tommy Oliver - hypothetical only since there’s no solid proof of this) it’s entirely fucking possible that once the original power coin no longer worked, and once those powers were lost, the COPY of the coin was still there somewhere, waiting to be rediscovered and used. and it came with a fully functional morpher, too. A morpher that a super tech genius best friend who literally built morphers for him before and now has experience mucking about in that kind of otherworldy science could indeed modify for him to use later in life.
so, yeah.
all hypothetical headcanon at this point but goddamn it. why did this ONE ASSHOLE have to be so fucking complicated a character for a goddamn KID’S SHOW THAT ISN’T EVEN REALLY THAT FUCKING DEEP!
i both love and hate the fact there’s so much lore around this ONE character because he’s ALWAYS been my favorite in the series but goddamnit...

i’ve got such a headache.

New Horizons Status Report #16 (Day 7)
Session 1
Mabel is in the plaza this morning! And drumroll please, our new neighbour is..... Aurora!
And a big announcement - Resident Services is going to relocate soon!
However, the Nook Stop will be closed tomorrow to accommodate the move
I grab all the stuff I wanted to sell yesterday morning and take it to Nook’s Cranny, then grab my shopping from the mailbox
A couple of fossils appeared near my flower garden - an iguanodon torso and a deinony tail, both new. And the Deinonychus is complete!
Boots and Jeremiah are running around the plaza together, and Boots is wearing the vest I sent him. Boots says stay hydrated, y'all! I say hey to Mabel, and buy some stuff from her - some glass-bottle glasses, slip-on loafers, an anorak and a basketball tank. I also buy a Nook Miles Ticket for later
I say hi to Pinky, who gives us a recipe for a garden wagon, and to our new neighbour, Aurora, who is certifiably baby
Speaking of recipes, I find one from "Gabi" for a log bed, and find fossils of a diplo neck (new!) and a brachio pelvis (not new). I also visit the dinosaur exhibit quickly
I take the fully-grown fruit trees to the grove, and find the money spot! I grab the 1k and plant my 99k, as well as the rest of the trees and fruit. I return to my house to find that Pinky, Paula and Boots have sent me letters, and Paula even sent me a pair of green pixek shades B)
I also catch a regular mantis, shoot down a sleeveless silk dress and find a rattan end table in a tree
I did some serious redecorating because my storage is full to the brim
Session 2
Went to visit Pinky at her house, and she appeared outside the moment I went away to look for her. She asked me about my favourite movie genre, and I said Adventure/Comedy. I shot down a street organ and placed it near our bamboo forest
Boots runs up to me and gives me another explorer's hat, which I wear as I run off to redeem my Nook Miles Ticket. I end up on a spiral-river island, and find a recipe from "Mint" for a pond stone
I asked a while ago if the time-travellers could check if we could be gay on Valentine’s Day or not when it gets released, but I've been informed that time-travelling skips events, so we will have no word on the gay until it is too late. For safety, I've decided to change my style to shoulder-lengths
I shoot down the recipe for a pan flute, and mail a present I wrapped forever ago to Aurora, and an unfinished puzzle to Pinky
I decide to go hunting for wasps, since apparently five spawn every day. During my expedition I find a throwback wall clock in a tree, and I successfully capture all five wasps!
I shoot down another copy of the light bamboo rug recipe, and Jeremiah asks me how clouds would taste on a cloudy day, if they taste like cotton candy on a sunny one. I answer that they'd still taste like cotton candy
I get a Nook Miles Ticket for later, and another one for tomorrow so I can jet off while Resident Services is upgrading, and then I head to Harv's Island to get photos with Pinky and Aurora so I can get posters of them
Session 3
I redeem my Nook Miles Ticket and find another bamboo island. I harvest as much bamboo as I can, shoots included, craft myself a bamboo-grove wall despite overflowing with stuff already, pocket a few bamboo trees for good measure and head home
I do some general organisation, shoot down some clay, and catch a THIRD OARFISH
Boots and Paula are hanging out at Boots' house. Paula says that Boots seems to be "super grinny" lately, which I mean, he's an alligator, but like. She's not wrong
I do some manual labour and gather enough Nook Miles for a second Ticket for tomorrow, and with all that said and done I head to bed
I wake back up again. I go shell hunting, shoot down a stovetop espresso maker, and start making shell partitions
Speaking of Pinky, she catches me with my vaulting pole and talks about how she used to see things called StickThings advertised as basically vaulting poles. She spends a little while belting out StickThing jingles, and later on gives me her mixtape a tape deck
I shoot down a pair of strappy heels and a pair of water sandals, and go back to sleep

❝ Dino Thunder Power Up! Brachio Power! ❞
The Legendary Green Ranger, White Ninja Ranger, Red Turbo Ranger & Red Zeo Ranger resurfaced as a science teacher at a school in the city of Reefside, California. A trio of detention hid students — Conner McKnight, Ethan James, and Kira Ford — unraveled Tommy's past as a Power Ranger after uncovering three artifacts from his lab that turned them into Power Rangers. Tommy recruited these students to become the Dino Thunder Power Rangers.
When he discovered that Mesogog was still active, he stole another Dino Gem from Mesogog and joined the other Rangers as the Black Dino Thunder Ranger, aided by the power of invisibility from the Black Dino Gem. His Dinozord is the Brachiozord carrier & he wields the Brachio Staff.
At the end of the battle, Tommy destroyed Zeltrax, alongside Kira. The Dino Rangers sacrificed their Dino Gems in order to destroy Mesogog's ultimate form(s). By that point, Mesogog had already managed to separate himself from Dr. Anton Mercer. In the end, Tommy would answer Anton's question of what he would do now by insisting he would pursue the simple life of a high school science teacher finally retiring his life as a Power Ranger for good, however, no Power Ranger, even Tommy, can escape the power forever.

/gen, i saw the “uncharitable jedi takes” in response to that last ask (i love it), and i just had a question about the “war crimes” box because it’s the only one i feel has a bit of… validity i guess? i know the typical response to that is the geneva conventions don’t exist in star wars and therefore stuff like false surrender isn’t a war crime but it still feels weird to me? i guess i’m just interested in the deconstruction of that accusation? again, /gen
Hello anon! Thank you for a genuine ask! I will try to give a decent breakdown of why I find the accusation flimsy.
So, "war crimes" is a box on the card because it's often thrown around as a very serious condemnation of the Jedi without consideration for what makes the accusation so serious. Usually the accusation is thrown with the intent of evoking an emotional & moral reaction against the Jedi through the same emotional & moral reaction one would have against war crimes. This tends to gloss over what actually makes a war crime.
War crimes are a rejection of the concept that war justifies brutality and inhumane atrocities. The root of this is harm done to people. This article is from the BBC and gives a brief overview of what a war crime is, why they were codified into international law, and some of what constitutes a war crime. (The article is dated from 2014, so you may want to find more up to date or detailed sources if you're doing more research, but I thought it was a concise & well-written overview that helps explain the point I want to make. It's a quick read, check it out before you continue.)
When people make this accusation against the Jedi, they often cite examples where the Jedi are fighting a droid army. Battle droids are not people. Battle droids are machines designed to autonomously kill people. These machines do not have any true choice or free will of their own. "We're independent thinkers. Roger, roger," indicates that each machine is individually autonomous and will carry out its designed function & programming as long as it remains functional. That programming is to kill and destroy. I reiterate: it will kill and destroy, on its own, until it is deactivated, destroyed, or given other orders.
Now I pose the following questions: is it a crime to deceive and destroy these machines? Should these machines be given the same regard as any life form? Is there harm done when these machines are destroyed? Should the safety of these machines be given equal consideration as the lives they are programmed to end?
Star Wars is not science fiction. It is fantasy in a science fiction setting. The sentience of droids is not the point and battle droids especially are not treated with any form of sentience in the narrative because they are not sentient life forms.
Should the Jedi treat machines with the same respect they treat living people? Or, do they have a duty to protect life from killing machines? Should they use the same tactics on droids that they use on people? Or, do they have more options to defeat the onslaught because they do not need to consider enemy lives as there are no enemy lives?
If the Jedi are to be accused of "war crimes" at least put a living enemy on the other side. Ki-Adi resorting to extreme weapons against the Geonosians? Sure, there are questions to be asked about the ethics, but to respond fairly, the full circumstances must be considered, and if it's to be called a war crime there's a higher bar for that argument. Should he prioritize enemy lives over the lives of his own troopers? When the willing enemy combatants are defending factories that build extermination machines? There is no perfectly moral answer; there isn't always a perfectly moral answer. These are situations where you get to make your own judgment call about the story. Do you think it's unethical? Do you think it constitutes a war crime? Do you think it's worthy of prosecution? How do you weigh your personal opinion against the narrative intention in your interpretation of the story?
When the accusation of "war crimes" is thrown at the Jedi, it's very often not accurate to start with, and ignores the reason that war crimes are so serious. I've seen many accusations of "war crimes" thrown that tell what a war crime is, but don't talk about why it's bad, because when you consider why a war crime is a crime, the argument against the Jedi starts falling apart.
tldr: is it a "war crime" if the victim is a non-living machine designed to kill living people?
Other people have written some good metas that explore this question from other angles, I'll link some below the cut if you're interested in further reading
This one (by @trickytricky1) goes into whether or not Obi-Wan actually commits perfidy in the TCW Movie.
This one (by @writerbuddha) is similar and includes an example of Anakin in TCW.
This one (by @monjustmon) explores what we know of in-universe laws regarding war crimes.
This one (by @smhalltheurlsaretaken) discusses characters that are portrayed as war criminals.
This one (by @lethebantroubadour) provides a list of acts committed by the Separatists which do have living victims and should constitute war crimes.
