What headcanons do you have for Maria, Natasha and them together (blackhill)?

Hello! I have a lot LOL.

The way I write them together at least in the Maria Hill: Stark Era series I am working on is that Maria and Natasha started having an on and off again relationship after the fall of SHIELD that they kept private but because they both have horribly repressed trauma and commitment issues it keeps their relationship from progressing.

Maria is exceptionally neat and organized and Natasha's more of a 'clean once every one to two weeks if at all' vibe. Maria cannot cook anything, Natasha can but generally chooses not to. Natasha always has the coolest jackets and she will never tell Maria where she gets them just to be a pain (a running gag through a lot of my fics tbh) Natasha sometimes goes AWOL without saying anything and Maria gets very annoyed. Natasha also has a tendency to 'leave texts on Read.' but to compromise she turned her read receipts on which drives Maria actually crazier than not knowing if she saw a message. But Maria can go full silent treatment if she's upset or mad. They both LOVE to dunk on Tony and they will both try to get out of a looming argument together by turning into a joke and putting it out of their mind so the tension builds like crazy.

Iconic that i got this question today because I just started a brand new fic where Maria meets Yelena in the Civil War/Black Widow movie era!!!!

Wandanat who helped you learn and control your powers, and helped you understand them and where they came from

Wandanat who brought you on your first ever shopping spree, buying everything you wanted, and who secretly bought everything you stared at for too long, while insisting you didn’t want it

Wandanat who bought you your first ever stuffed animal, one that you brought with you everywhere

Wandanat who nearly cried when you accidentally called them ‘moms’ one time

Wandanat who took you with them after the Avengers broke up, making sure you were safe and happy after another large change of surroundings

Wandanat who allow you to sleep in their bed with them when you get scared. You’ll be snuggling up to Natasha while Wanda snuggles up to you from the back, gently stroking your hair and back until you fall asleep, making sure you feel safe and secure in their arms

the amount of times natasha has tripped over her feet in maria’s presence (also tripped and fell into maria’s arms) drives her insane because she’s never like this. she’s never been so…clumsy.

on the other hand; maria just doesn’t understand why she can never think of what to say when she’s around natasha (she’s taken to keeping sticky notes on hand so she can read them). she’ll blurt out the most random words in natasha presence, spewing nonsense.

when maria begins handing her sticky notes instead of speaking, natasha is curious. however, after she witnesses maria verbally speaking to everyone BUT her and she’s very confused and upset..

“maria…are you mad at me?” natasha would ask. maria shakes her head or writes no but she still won’t TALK and nat actually likes hearing maria’s voice and she doesn’t know WHY maria will actually talk to everyone BUT her.

the reality: maria is constantly trying to not say something stupid because she’s afraid she’ll say something to upset natasha because she keeps gay panicking.

we then get flustered maria trying to explain how she’s not upset and she’s trying to tell nat her feelings but she’s really just rambling and it’s not making sense; yet natasha understands because of course she does and that’s how we get their first kiss.

⁠✯ bonus: nat admits she was being super klutzy around maria on purpose because she likes being in maria’s arms and come on she’s the black widow, she knows how to be steady, she just REALLY loves being in maria’s arms.

one time natasha actually does trip over something and maria is right there to catch her and she goes “nat, we’re already dating. you don’t have to do that anymore” and natasha just rolls her eyes and goes “this time that was real” but she doesn’t make an effort to get out of maria’s hold.

out of all the days, this is might be my favorite <3

■ -  Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon (I have no idea what this hc entails so this is just how their house would look like)

They have their seperate bedrooms in a shared apartment even though they mostly sleep together. Natashas room is pretty bare except for a few memorbilias and pictures of her family (both of them) , Marias room has everything, including a lot of Natashas clothes, she doesn't have too much, except some tourist stuff like postcards from every country she has been sent to and a barcart.

The rest of the apartment has a touch of both of their personalities, and alot of hidden weaponry (ofcourse), it's actually really cozy and they have a shared office because shield paperwork (Maria does all of it)

Ofcourse everyone sees nat differently, some people think of her as more ruthless and mysterious like in the comics

I like to think of her as more human, someone who got handed a fucked up deal and somehow made the best out of it, yes she is able to kill and torture without batting an eye but she was just doing what she was taught, after she joined shield she became a softer person

Someone who puts on her pjs when she comes home from work and crouches down to pet the cat, someone who’s love language is physical touch and will always hug her friends and family when they need it, she’s the kind of person that will fly half way around the world to be there for her friend during a funeral of a loved one, even though they’re fighting at the time, she’ll eat icecream right from the tub and she can recite lines from her favorite movies from memory

Sometimes she has to toughen up, it doesn’t matter if it’s for personal of professional reasons and that switch flips so effortlessly she doesn’t even notice it sometimes, but at certain times the facade cracks, the new natasha slips through and she has to admit that she only acts like she knows everything, she used to get the information she needed, finish the mission and get out of the situation as soon as possible, things aren’t that simple anymore, but natasha isn’t the same person she was then either so it works

Natasha could give a rats ass about separating the laundry. “Clothes are clothes” to her no matter how much Maria begs her to separate the whites from the colors. It happens one too many times that she washes Maria’s dress shirts with some of her graphic tees and lo and behold the dreaded color transfer.

Cut to a very grumpy Commander Hill sitting in an important conference with her jacket pulled tight because she’s trying her best to hide the Girl Scout pink mess that is what used to be one of her favorite shirts.

after taking down the red room, natasha, yelena, melina, and the other widows worked to free the widows still under subjugation. everyday, the list gets smaller and smaller, which they’re happy about but a lot of the time, the widows lash out. sometimes the injuries aren’t that bad, a scrape or bruise here and there, it’s bearable pain. however, a lot of the time, the injuries are worse like today, yelena ended up with at least five huge gashes wounds and that’s just what natasha could see.

nat is still on the run and even if she wasn’t, hospitals ask too many questions which lead to police. she also can’t get to melina because she’s too far, so naturally, natasha does the only thing she can think of; she takes yelena home.

home to her little family of fury, carol, maria r, and of course her wife, maria. except, natasha’s been no contact for 4 months and yelena doesn’t know about them.

for once, when natasha gets there, everyone is home and they’re excited to see her except you know, there’s a blonde bleeding out. a room in house is stocked with first aid supplies, it could double as a small hospital room. they take yelena there and everyone works to save her and yelena makes natasha promise not to leave her because she’s scared and she doesn’t know them.

maria’s obviously pissed. she hasn’t seen her wife in 6 months, hasn’t heard from her in 4 of those 6 months, and she’s here alive, but bruised. now, her sister could die and maria’s upset that she’s upset with her because natasha looks so scared and small, but fuck maria’s been so worried about her so she can’t help how she feels.

when it’s just natasha and maria in room (+ yelena who is stable and resting), nat does try to apologize because she can see how much her absence has affected her wife and she feels so guilty for putting her through this.

maria just breaks down and tells her that 6 months with natasha physically being there is one thing, but no contact is another. maria honestly thought she was dead, again. she thought she was going to have to plan natasha’s funeral, again. and she genuinely couldn’t handle that.

also, there’s a moment a few days later when everyone is sleeping except for yelena (she can’t help it, new place and all) and fury (does he ever sleep?). yelena doesn’t trust him but this isn’t his first time dealing with a traumatized, red room assassin, so he simply lets her lead the conversation because he wants her to trust him. it’s cute and yelena thinks that maybe, he isn’t that bad .
