You know what would be very helpful? A tutorial for (black) women on the different buzz cut options.
I've shaved my head at least 3x by 3 different barbers, and my favorite was with a female barber.
However, I never knew how to explain the type of buzz cut that I wanted. I didn't want it shaved completely, I still wanted some texture with a buzzed aesthetic.
So, I was 'today years old' when I discovered a YouTube video of a woman, who was shaving her own head with a set of #6, #5, #4, #3, & #2 clippers. The woman, who had a thick head of loose black curls, started off with bra strap length hair, and with each set of clippers, she showed how short each clipper would take similar short hair. I was amazed. I've sat in a barber chair, and watched each barber switch out clippers, never fully understanding what length each clipper would take my hair.
Through this woman, I learned that if I start off with long hair, my ideal aesthetic would be the #3 clipper, which is 3/8ths of an inch; it's a long buzz cut that allows for a lot of texture and femininity. However, since my hair is currently short (& the perfect length), I know that 4-6 weeks from now, I need to tell my barber that I want my hair to be 1/4 of an inch, and that I want him to use a #2 clipper.
I'm linking the video below just in case any woman needs a tutorial on the different types of clippers that will give you your desired buzz cut aesthetic.

Black brothers & hair
First of all, Regulus and Sirius would have NO idea how to take care of their hair.
Second of all, both Slytherin and Gryffindor girls would NOT idly stand by and let them kill their hair.
Thus:
Lily, Mary and Marlene would help Sirius take proper care of his luscious locks. They didn't even have to make him. HE came to THEM for advice cause he was tired of his hair getting tangled constantly (it was because they were dry as a straw). Mary was the one who taught him how to take care of locks, Lily gave him a list of muggle hair products ("no Sirius, you can't just spell your hair clean IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT") and Marlene would teach him how to make all kinds of fancy hairstyles.
Then they took care of the rest of the Marauders (they needed it).
Dorcas and Pandora took care of Regulus. He didn't even want that. But when they noticed that he kinda started to grow his hair out and in what condition they were... the intervention was necessary. By that they also got him to open up emotionally a little and take care of himself in general.
They didn't even try to drag Barty and Evan into this, their hair is DEAD.
Since then, both Black brothers started to take a damn good care of their hair. And when one of them would neglect them, it was a sign that something was really wrong, making their friends spring into action immediately.
