My dr is starting me on norethisterone acetate for #endometriosis. Every time in my life I've tried birth control, the side effects were brutal. Big thumbs down, zero stars. I had a #hysterectomy last year, so starting #birthcontrol now is weird af. But Dr is hoping it helps with the pain I've been having. Due to other #chronicillnesses she thought this #progesterone only pill was the safest - is it very different than traditional BC? There's no pill pack, just a bottle of daily pills, since it's for meds/not pregnancy prevention. I'm not excited at the prospect of getting chubbier + moodier. But, I will love my darn self anyway. ;) This body has gone through a lot of drama + trauma, so we'll vibe no matter what size. ✌️😘 Anyone else take this for endo pain/symptoms? (They found #endo during my #hysterectomy last year, I'd asked drs about it since I was 19, I was always assured I didn't have it. Well, surprise. 🎉 lol. New dr thinks they didn't remove it all, that's where pain is from. But I don't know a ton on this yet?) Any #endosisters types have advice?) Even though the scale hasn't moved much, if at all, I definitely feel a little different.⁣ ⁣ I wasn't sure I wanted to share much about this particular subject, considering how personal it is but, I said I would be more open with you guys, so why not?⁣ ⁣ Since I was in highschool, I have been taking daily hormonal birth control. So for the past 12 years every, single month, I have been giving my body a pill that does so much more than just shut down ovulation. It messes with your whole body, including your brain! I've read women are more likely to be prescribed antidepressants after starting the pill and I can understand why.⁣ ⁣ I've decided I am no longer going to let this pill do any more harm to my body. I care so much about my health that I just can't do it anymore. And I couldn't live in fear any longer of 'what might happen to me if I stopped taking it'. ⁣ ⁣ After some research, we decided it was time for me to give it a shot! So it's been 4 weeks since my last birth control pill and I feel way better than I expected. The Pill- The only reason why lately I know what day it is. . This is my 2nd week taking BC pills, the first time I took them was the year before getting married and only because the doctor wanted to help me regulate my period, of course that didn’t really happened, I only got ovarian cyst from that followed to a ruptured ovarian cysts 5 or 6 years ago. So this time around I am doing it because supposedly will help with my (not 100%) endometriosis diagnosis. So far I can’t really tell if I am having weird side effects, I just have been feeling really tired and a little out of myself, oh and of course Acne! But other than that, still all normal. Pains are still present, on Wednesday I was having a lot of pelvic pain and lower back pain, yesterday a lot of cramping throughout the day. But we are hanging in there, at least now I know I am not going crazy. . Don’t be afraid of asking questions, inform yourself, listen to your body, take care of it. Nobody its gonna judge you, love yourself and understand the signs your body is giving you. Its not Normal to be in pain every day. I am here for you, and many other women. My bc pill fell out of my hand so I had to lift my whole mattress off my bed and look between the dusty corners behind my bed. I couldn't find it. I look again. Couldn't find it. Trashed my room. Couldn't find it. Gave up. Found it on a shelf of my bed frame. It had to bounce 3 feet to get there. Fuck my life.
