One thing that pisses me off a lot as a trans teen is the straight up ignorance that so many people have when it comes to prescribing hormones. Everywhere you go, you'll hear right-wingers say that "children are being mutilated" and that "children are forced to take hormones" and while in the trans, perisex, healthy perspective that is untrue, intersex people and folks with problems in their organs often ARE forced to do those things, and take hormones SO much easier that trans teens.
Last week, I visited an OBGYN for missed periods. After a quick ultrasound, she straight up signed a paper and gave me progesterone. You know, one of the "scary", "mutilating" hormones (not birth control btw, the opposite of that).
I did not consent to this. I never wanted to take those hormones. And it's bone-chilling how quickly they rushed to give me the pills once they assumed I'm a cis girl. And frankly, this is way more dangerous than testosterone. To put it simply, I'm 3x more likely to have a stroke, heart attack, thrombosis, and some forms of cancers and it came with a whole LIST of side effects.
Say I'm a trans girl instead. Do you have any idea how long this would've taken for me to get? While my doctor mindlessly signed a paper, if I were a trans girl I would've had months if not YEARS of waiting, visiting different doctors and psychiatrist, and a whole struggle of trying to get the same exact substance.
And the progesterone they gave me isn't even necessary. It was not something they knew my body needed. Even my doctor admitted it was to "see if it works and what it will do"
The ignorance of bigots is more and more visible day by day, but by along with them, many allies are also ignorant about hormones.

Ok mildly horny on main but fuck ever since I started progesterone and getting to experience estrogen fueled horniness for the first time, it honestly shocked me how different it feels. Like, this, is almost kinda fun even, like getting that rush of butterflies in my stomach and wanting to be loved and touched instead of that mindless irritating sort of itch that testosterone gives you. It feels, so much more right to me, or at least, not wrong, like it's a part of me instead of something I'm subjected to.
That being said though it is still kinda annoying because I have no one to share it with now T_T

1.5 yrs before HRT -- 1 yr after HRT
Gonna be vulnerable and jump on the bandwagon to say that I love my trans brothers and sisters. You'd think that "queerest place on the internet" would mean something.
Tumblr's CEO is a giant fucking baby who uses his immense privilege and power to have petty beef with his own site's community of trans people while also ignoring hugely important moderation issues that allow those same trans people to be harassed, doxxed, and sent death threats, before just being deleted off of the site entirely.
FUCK Matt Mullenweg

God progesterone's finally started to work its magic today. I could already tell it was helping me sleep better, but honestly it was a little lacking from what I was expecting outta horny when I started taking it 16 days ago on 2/28. Woooah mama it is HERE and I hope it's here to stay cuz my God this is an intense horny. Just lightly touching my gock, even above my panties and pants, is nearly making me pant like the puppygirl I am. Ordered a Magic Wand vibe that should arrive Tuesday, excited to see what else this med does cuz wow 🥵🥵🥵

one lesser known fact about progesterone in transfem hrt is that after a while your pupils get heart-shapped and little red and pink hearts start floating above your head when you get aroused

It's so funny to me how photomatt has had such a bad reaction to the criticism of him, it's practically impossible to directly communicate with him.

Something no one ever talks about but we SHOULD:
Certain sex hormones can greatly excaberate the symptoms of already debilitating illnesses and health problems.
To my knowledge so far:
-estrogen greatly adds to ibs symptoms (personal experience between diy t and no t)
-estrogen can make seizures more common on average in epilepsy patients
-testosterone is more vulnerable to further raise high cholesterol
-etc. Will do more research from primary and secondary sources.
HRT should be more readily available to ALL. And I believe that in cases of low supply, people with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses that rely on hormone therapy should get it first whether cis or trans. Listen. Do you know how much better being disabled was for me on HRT? I hope to get back on it soon. But seriously y'all. Research any illnesses both that you have and are genetically preexposed to and how both the hormones you have and the hormones you want affect these illnesses. Do this in order to go into any hormone therapy with both eyes open. Also medical professionals should more readily prescribe high doses of birth control (generally progesterone) for menstruation related illnesses like endometriosis. We MUST fight for the right to hormone therapy, not only for our right to present as who we are as trans people, but also for disability rights, for patient rights. For several different versions of human rights. Everyone deserves the ability to make informed decisions about their hormones.
