If a version of Midnight Sun existed for each following instalment of the Twilight series (New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn), what do you think they’d be called/what would you call them and what (new) scenes would be in them?
Anon, you speak my greatest dream. I want this in my life. If no one else does, then I am the sole person who does. If there is not one person who wants this, it means that I have died.
I need this.
But for now, I can only imagine (and no doubt fail miserably to what it would be in actuality).
New Moon
The thing is that Meyer would also want to call this New Moon for the reason that she called it New Moon for Bella: this is a book about hopelessness. Edward leaves, Bella's soulmate, she literally cannot survive without him and this book is her discovering "oh, yeah, I literally cannot survive without him" (and making friends with Jacob but let's be real Meyer was never that into that).
It's a book where the moon, the light, is gone.
For Edward, we have the same narrative, he tries to leave Bella for her own good, fails, has a miserable time, and comes crawling back only to find that he's made everything worse.
But because Edward is more dramatic, and to thematically work with Midnight Sun (named thus as Bella is the unexpected sunlight in what should be the darkest of Edward's nights) we have Polar Night which is the phenomenon opposite of Midnight Sun where instead of the sun never setting at all we have the night never ending.
As for what would be in it. My friend, my beautiful friend, everything would be in it.
We'd get the scene where Edward bullies his family into leaving, many of them having reservations, and then steals all Bella's photographs and tries and fails to steal the stereo out of her car. We'd get scenes of Edward fantasizing about Bella marrying and holding hands with MiKe NEWtoN and it being entirely too much for him. We get all of the birthday party, period, which from Edward's point of view would no doubt be insane.
We have Edward so fucking depressed that he feels he's bringing the family down and chooses to leave on the vague pretext of catching Victoria. Then he doesn't catch Victoria and loses her in Mexico but is so depressed he just keeps going south until he hits Brazil.
Where he stays, and per what he says to Bella (which is undoubtedly not the entire truth) he was fucking miserable and did nothing for months. Did he have a Hallucination Bella who told him not to eat human food because it'd make him sick? Did he write a rock opera about Bella Swan only to realize it didn't live up to real life and burn it in a fit of despair and anger? What about the family calling to check in? We know that happened, Rosalie could reach Edward and he answered, so did they just call and quietly try to ask if Edward's coming back home or not? You know? Anytime? Edward?
And then of course his pleading for death with the Volturi, being told no, planning his elaborate massacre-suicide before settling on good old suicide without any murder and Bella being alive and that whole debacle from his point of view including "OH NO OTHER MAN MOVED IN" when he realizes Jacob's... kind of... a thing...
Everything would be new in part because we see so little of Edward and given the insanity in Midnight Sun that was never in Twilight I can't even guess to what Edward got up to for months in Rio.
It could be fucking anything.
Eclipse
Or "Edward did a bad thing and is now very nervous" the novel. As for what it's call, this is less clear as we have to go with the sun/moon themes here, and Eclipse is already taken. If we're allowed weather related events maybe "Eye of the Hurricane" as there's a storm out there and this book is about Edward barely holding his shit together. This is his nightmare scenario in every way.
Bella has a new love interest, a friend she believes is platonic who is very interested in her, and worse, Edward actually does admire and is hands down in Edward's opinion the better man for her to be with. Bella's changed when he was gone and is now an adrenaline junky, what else about her has changed? How much did he miss? She's involved in werewolves who all hate Edward, for good reason, and want her to leave him, for good reason. Edward has discovered that he actually can't leave Bella, Alice was right, even though he wants to be that strong desperately. Bella got the family to agree to turn her and they'll do it, Edward's barely gotten her to agree to be turned by him instead, but she's hemming and hawing about marrying and committing to him and she wants him to bang him (which will likely lead to her death)
Edward is straight up not having a good time, bro.
So, we'd get Edward's insane plans to keep Bella and Jacob apart, his meeting Bella in the road after her looking like he'd love nothing more than to pull The Terminator where he chases her car down. We get Edward's increasing nervousness that Bella "wants to be with him forever" but "doesn't want to marry him" (which for Edward, understandably as he doesn't have Bella's background, is something that just doesn't compute). And there's Jacob, kissing Bella, warming her up at night, thinking very dirty things when Edward's sitting right there internally screaming.
And of course, offscreen things with the family, likely venting about the Denali who are leaving them to die because they won't let them kill the children Native Americans, wondering if they're all going to die in this fight, even more of the tent scene with Jacob (which I'm sure, somehow, I'm sure, got very homoerotic in there). Probably sobbing to Alice "I fucked up" and then hating Rosalie BECAUSE THIS IS ALL HER FAULT HISS HISS.
And of course, what we know he sees from Bree and perhaps the discussion with the family that Bella never got to be privy to.
And I imagine a lot of fantasies of Bella pregnant with Jacob's beautiful babies.
Breaking Dawn
I'm going to bow out for this one too, Meyer would want to name it that. Maybe we get "Hailey's Comet" or something, in that Edward has related Bella to a comet streaking across the bleak sky of his life and this is him learning to accept to be happy and perhaps good things are allowed to happen to him.
But anyways.
I mean.
We get Breaking Dawn.
We get Edward gearing himself up for sex and asking the family how to bang a woman. We know he did this. Canonically he confesses to Bella, in the weirdest manner possible, that he asked his entire family how to do it (and it made it clear that Carlisle didn't really approve and was pretty :/ and "don't do it" about all of it). We get the family probably watching Alice like hawks because they're waiting for her to tell them if Bella lived or died through intercourse. We get Edward interrogating the maid in Portuguese and god knows what they even said to one another but it had to be wild.
We get Edward planning Bella's abortion, the betrayal by Rosalie yet again, and then more planning of her forced abortion with Jacob and his opinion on Jacob turning from "respected rival" into "my only friend".
Then we get Edward's complete flip on Renesmee which must have been... I don't even know. But he'd be thinking she's the spawn of Satan before that (in the most Edward manner possible) and then that she's Jesus after that (in the most Edward manner possible).
Then of course there's "my son, Jacob" and honestly probably fantasizing about an adult Renesmee pregnant with Jacob's beautiful babies. Let's be real here. and just...
Look.
I can't predict this.
What we saw of Breaking Dawn was already insane and this would only be more so because it's Edward. There's so much we don't see as Bella pays 0 attention to the other vampires and to the family at large and Edward would just...
I have no idea.
It would just be madness.
TL;DR
I need this.

This has been picking my squishy little thought organ.
Submitted to several others for a wide range of potential awnsers
If Jalice had a kid, what are some hypothetical gifts it could have?
I could see it having the gift of giving hallucinations.
(that previous ANON got me thinking, clearly)
Because of his emotional ability--> making them believable. [Fool the emotions all else will follow.] Her visions are quite sporadic at times. ---> crafting the mental space devoted to that.
Environmental Factors---> Bella & her daughter can project, and I think environmental factors will give the gift a push to be able to be casted. INSTEAD of actually just ending up with hyperaphantasia.
"People with hyperphantasia can imagine scenes, sounds, smells, tastes, and sensations with great clarity and detail. They may also have enhanced abilities in creativity, memory, and empathy."
Alice & Bella are besties, so they'll spend a considerable amount of time together interacting. So, I think the block Renesme has on the visions will be a giant factor too.
Despite Bella and Alice just not being close it will happen anyway. Cause there's nowhere realistically for her to go.
She's stuck and Alice probably isn't going to get a vision going oh, now is the right time to leave.
Even if you could argue oh, they'll never fight. Most likely right unless we wanna go even more Au... {Which I am 100% ok with}
But I think Alice's slight harboring of resentment for Renesme for blocking her visions will be the key in the lock for this to all work out right.
She isn't going to stop blocking them. Alice already has had time to get over her gift dependency so much but like she won't do that.
Jasper's gift can't be blocked by a shield, but I imagine he's a little immune to Renesme's gift. (Realistically not...? But it's a silly little Tumblr post I don't want to think about the power scale too hard and implode.)
I was hoping you could pick up where I left off about how things realistically work in Twilight.
Besides the whole vampires have a kid despite one being infertile.
But I think this would be a hell-on-wheels problem. Cause while Jasper I'd argue! Has a more moral conscious (at least in the ways we see it.) than Alice. But they're both pretty grey.
Which means they're both pretty ruthless. Like Bella and Edward are for their child.
All i know is this offspring would have to be so lucky to not be snatched by the Volturi.
I think this kid would fare better than Renesme in the short and long term. Even if they were both hybrids. This kid would have parents that would in my opinion actually teach it more.
I think Bella and Edward don't teach Renesme. much.
I think Jasper would make sure his kid had the skills should they be needed to be used. And Alice would support this or just let it happen. I think he's a more active parent than her but that's 100% different bullshit Au type of discussion and I just needed to drop this meta off to blogs for their thoughts.
I am driving myself crazy. I would like to sleep.
Well, I'm not entirely sure how this child would come to be in the first place as Jasper and Alice can't have one.
Assuming, though, that God bestowed one upon them, I subscribe to @smallcatwoman's fellow who has the gift of seeing emotional outcomes, the child would be as delightfully alien as Alice only in a very different way (optimal future-oriented Alice versus happiest outcome-seeker Greige).
As for how the child is raised, I imagine it would have much the same upbringing as Renesmee. If Jasper and Alice are interested in teaching a child, Renesmee is right there and is, by all accounts, The Cullen Child™. They are all devoting every resource to her, raising her communnaly for all that she is officially Bella and Edward's.
A second child with a different set of parents would, if possible, be even more Cullen Communal Property than Renesmee: Bella, at least, had an interest in her child, Alice screams childfree. Oh, she'll be the cool aunt and take the kid shopping, no problem, but parenting? Motherhood?
Esme and Rosalie can do the hard parts, and Jasper and Carlisle too if they want. Alice will be pointing out that God making the child genetically hers was simply a matter of good taste, doesn't mean she should be raising the damn thing.
And the child gets to live in the shadow of Renesmee, who was wanted by her mother, the first and miraculous baby everybody and their cousin were willing to die for, and has a guy imprinted on her. Renesmee, by all accounts, would be the golden child and the other one would be... the other one.
Wasn't supposed to exist, his mother foisted him off and prefers to dress up Renesmee anyway, and his gift is only able to tell him that he can't be happy around his family, so he ignores it.
Perhaps Greige will love Renesmee, but I prefer the timeline where he resents her too much to recognise his cousin for just as unhappy as he is, and Renesmee has no idea why but only knows that she can't meaningfully connect to him.
Drama is had.

What do you think Edward's reaction is to meeting someone having a psychotic episode? Also, do you think vampires can suffer from psychosis?
I'm torn between being like, "oh of course he would try to help" and also kind of thinking that the Cullens keep to themselves and probably aren't as interested in the humans around them (except for Carlisle at work) as we might like to think they are. I love seeing all the headcanons about how Jasper cheers people up at school or the kids work together to get a student out of a dangerous domestic situation, but that's not . . . that's not anything we actually see in the text, and their attitude toward humans in general is pretty dismissive.
If Edward is paying attention enough to notice someone is experiencing some kind of psychotic break, I think his first reaction would be discomfort, followed perhaps by fascination. Someone having a psychotic episode generally has some kind of break with reality, seeing, hearing etc things that aren't real, believing things that aren't real. It doesn't have to be from underlying mental illness; it could also be from physical illness or injury, a traumatic event, or related to substance use. For a mind-reader, experiencing the mind of someone going through that would probably be interesting and unsettling, and Edward has been through medical school twice (although how recently is unclear--it's possible it's been A While and his understanding of mental illness is outdated) which adds another layer of perspective.
(You could argue Bella hearing/seeing Edward in New Moon was psychosis--visual and/or auditory hallucinations are a symptom.)
I'd like to think after that initial reaction he'd try to do something to help; at the very least make sure the person is as physically safe as possible, and then maybe quietly/anonymously reach out to family, if possible, or the appropriate social services. (Do not call the cops, Edward!) Or at the very least call Carlisle and let him deal with it. But I don't think Edward would take the person on as a long-term project or anything. He doesn't care about humans on that level.
And sure, I'd imagine vampires could suffer from psychosis themselves. I think the feeling of going without blood for a long time could trigger an episode--we know Carlisle wasn't in a good mental place when he starved himself and snapped and killed deer for the first time, for example. I don't know if we'd call that psychosis, but. There's also the extremes that vampires tend to go to when they lose their mate; I could see that veering into that sort of territory, too. And then you have people like Zafrina who really can make you see things that aren't real, so I think it fits within the mythos if you want it to.

Re-watching the New Moon movie and I have many Thoughts(tm), namely
Why is the cinematography is so warm toned compared to the first movie when New Moon is the most depressing book and truly the worst era of Bella’s young life: A Mystery in 2 Hours
At least Pattinson!Edward looks a little better than usual. They put him in these crisp suits. Very nice (Edit: Never mind, that awful Volturi bathrobe with the pasty-ass makeup was horrific yuck, yuck, yuck)
They just had to introduce Jacob this early on, didn’t they? And ofc Bella is much more emotive and gets all the witty dialogue with him (!!). In the books she is much more romantic and wittier with Edward as a whole. Jacob tended to bring out her immature side
“How come Jacob Black gets to give you a gift and I can’t?” “Because I have nothing to give back to you” Nice to know the screenwriter(s) still doesn’t understand the Bedward dynamic. And by nice I mean horrific
…What film version of R&J are they watching??? It’s not the ‘30s version and definitely not the ‘60s or ‘90s one. Is it the ‘70s BBC one? In the book it was the ‘60s version, which is the correct answer. Did they not get the rights? Also, also, why are the human characters much more affected by R&J than Bella and Edward????
“[Romeo] Killed his only love out of sheer stupidity” “Yeah” Oh no, no, no, no, movie, you are not going to make Bella, a close Romeo iteration, agree with Edward!!! Edward is meant to be 100% wrong by his take. Dumbass script!!!
Edward: “Eyes, look your last” 😐 Couldn’t Pattinson just inject a little bit more feeling into his line reading? Most of Edward’s objections were Romeo’s actions, not his suicide. These are the lines Edward can and should relate to.
The movie people garbing the Volturi in 18th century clothing when they are older than the Romans is just laughable
“Dating an older woman. Hot.” Okay, Emmett is 💯, no notes. Definitely erred on the side of frat boy, but you know what, it’s fun and ho boy do these movies lack it
Bella holding up her whole bloody finger in a coven of vampires 💀 Why, movie
Stewart!Bella’s chemistry with almost everyone else in the cast (that scene with Carlisle tending her wound!!!) but Pattinson!Edward confirms what I have known all along: Film and real life chemistry are very different and they shouldn’t be confused. The proof is in the celluloid.
I’m just going to call it: Stewart and Pattinson are modern subtle quirky actors playing what are essentially neo-Gothic star-crossed lover roles. They absolutely should never have been considered for these parts at all by a competent director. Absolutely not fitting at all
“You’re just not good for me.” Hmm, this is what Bella believes about herself, not Edward. I suppose Edward could have done it on purpose, but the fact that he was flabbergasted his lie worked indicates that he doesn’t. Movie just straight up portrays him as more manipulative than in the books, where he just lies baldly
Oh God the months-on-the-screen thing was terrible. This movie fails so much at portraying Bella’s depression, it hurts. It’s like visual SparkNotes
The Bella-writing-to-Alice device sucks. Not too badly, but still. We had her voiceover in the first movie without any problems but for this one, we need a justification? Also, it fuels the Bella/Alice fan dumb something awful
Really dislike the way they did Hallucination!Edward with the ghostly transparent effect. It’s corny and also…way to pass up a chance at some mystery and intrigue by just having Edward be there without any special effects (maybe keep the echoing voice). I guess they really didn’t want people confused and think he returned when he didn’t. But c’mon.
Movie Bella going off with the biker 🤮 Book Bella at her most insane would never. The only good thing about it is that it does lead to Bella having an interest in motorcycles. Efficient movie storytelling and all that.
“Bella, where the hell have you been, loca?” Wonder why this line became so meme-worthy. It’s by far not the worst (“spider monkey” is perhaps the most awful) and Lautner’s delivery was natural enough. Is it the random Spanish? It is random.
Bella is already smiling at her first scene with Jacob…this movie is just awful at selling her desolation. Meanwhile Jacob’s first thought was how awful Bella looked
The Quileute characters are well-cast and nicely played so far, and their banter is good. Emily especially is beautiful and her scar makeup was convincing. Great
Book: “He took off his shirt” Movie: He took off his ~~~~shirt 😍
Laurent’s arrival and his death should have been a much better and weightier scene than we got. God, the pacing is so bad in this movie. Jacob becomes a werewolf, Bella finds the meadow, Laurent suddenly arrives—all within a minute or so. Ugh
“As soon as you put the dog out.” Damn, why, movie? Book Alice did not begin the slurs until she was well and truly angry. But sure, let’s do some really obvious racebaiting 🙄
Whoa, whoa, whoa, Jacob KNEW he was talking to Edward and not Carlisle????? Movie, wtf? And all to save up on some screen time…sigh
Bella: “I can let you go now.” What. The. Fuck. Movie????? Not only could she not let Edward go, Bella never wanted to let him go. That was and had never been her arc!!! She would have gone to Edward regardless of anything!!! I hate this, I hate this oh GOD
No, I’m not done, I need another bullet point for this BS. The whole reason why Twilight was picked up to be adapted in the first place was because Hollywood execs saw “Ooh Romeo and Juliet with vampires 🤑” written all over this one…only for the actual filmmakers to just say, “Actually her whole ~journey this movie is letting go of Edward uwu” Poor Meyer…she just had to grin and bear it until she became the producer, I suppose
*Bella and Edward having a whole-ass conversation and making out* *Felix and Demetri watching in the shadows*: “So…should we interru—” “Don’t you DARE” “Felix” 🤣 I’m sorry, but this whole “I lied I do love you” convo should have been in the bedroom scene proper; there are literal Volturi about!!! Also, also, no “Amazing. Carlisle is right”!!! No Romeo quote!!!! Fie, for shame
Dakota Fanning as Jane…Well, probably not perfection, but she is great as usual. The Volturi got done so dirty overall, though—they look and act like Vampire Diaries rejects.
THAT ELEVATOR SCENE, OH GOD. So much meme potential. Why does this series keep injecting humor and comedy where there shouldn’t be and just ditching the actual humor and comedy of the actual books?????
Again, these Volturi gives me discount Vampire Diaries. Also, that chamber is so damn small. Where is the mystique, the grandiosity? There should be a crowd of vampires around, it’s their dinnertime.
Michael Sheen is just too British for the la tua cantante, lol. He also says something else (“Forse le vostre l’uno per altro”??? The accent is just too thick). He’s way too handsy (movie, they’re regular vampires who are sharks!!) but overall I guess his creepy-genteel approach works. Again, the cringy script fucks him over, as it does everyone. The movie has him touch Edward only now and not immediately when he meets him. Oh, God.
Edward just stumbling forward to Jane’s demonstration on Bella 💀 Jane saying “Pain” and Edward just standing there instead of collapsing 💀 Stewart!Bella freaking out and begging them to stop…actually, no, there she did very well, I liked it
Edward and Felix fighting ewwww…and with that awful slow-mo. What’s with these movies and including non-canonical battle shit???? Also, Aro would not order Bella’s execution if simply because he wants to collect Edward/Alice and Bella once she turns (it’s obvious she is a shield).
Of course fucking Alice speaks up at the very last minute before Aro chomps on Bella!!! When she would have had a vision of this exact scenario!!! This movie I swear!!!
THEY ACTUALLY SHOW THE VISION OF VAMPIRE BELLA, OH GOD. AND WITH THE CORNY SLOW-MO. KILL ME
“Once Alice changes me, you can’t get rid of me.” Okay, Movie Bella is officially more interested in immortality than Edward, the exact opposite of her book counterpart. Dishonor on your cow, Rosenberg.
“Jake, I love you.” Aaaaaand it’s official, the movies are definitely Team Jacob. Fuck you, too, movie

I think that if Jalice hypothetically had a gift, it could be be related to feel the emotions of the people had in the past/will have in the future. Considerating the fact that Renesmee has a gift pretty complicated as an hybrid, it could be possible that every gifted hybrid has a gift more complicated than a normal vampire. The kid (Jalice's) would also, probably, block their mother's power but would slowly unblock it for their mother overtime. Because somehow, they are linked considerating the fact that in SM's Twilight world, the links are pretty strong bond, related to family or.
I can say that for most part I agree with you. Seeing how Alice and Bella were during Breaking-Dawn Part 1, it was already pretty hard for them both to get along and agree due to the fact that Alice couldn't see Renesmee's nor Bella's future. As you said, it could be the key for a potential fight to happen between the two.
As for Jalice having a kid. I would agree that the kid would probably be taught more, their father was an ex-soldier and their mother would probably want them to be able to defend themselves in the future as she would not be able to see anything due to being an hybrid. However, I think that this kid would also had easier way to understand what/who they are since Renesmee would be born before them and the whole family would be ready. Therefore, everyone would already know how to deal with an hybrid kid in the house with the supernatural grow, being able to eat human food ect.
I don't know if like I correctly answer but I tried my best to fill your hunger ^^' (you got me thinking for twenty minutes there)

based on your question from this episode on what edward’s version (ev if you will) of the auditory hallucinations: i think he would be fully talking out loud to her about everything he was thinking and doing to the point where if he’s ever in public he’s whispering to himself and eventually he delivers an overblown regretful monologue to her on his way to italy
and you know his imaginary responses from her are completely off from what she would actually say or do
hmmm you may be onto something! I (G) am imagining this like Head Six from Battlestar Galactica—just an unnaturally flawless and unrealistically confident version of Bella swaggering around having full conversations. there's precedent from MS of Edward walking around laughing to himself out of nowhere in public and freaking people out, so why not progress to talking out loud?
—G
this is funny to think about especially since Bella's Edward Hallucinations are preeeetty damn accurate to the real thing. its FUN to see how well she's characterized him: he's still a dickhead even when he's a figment of her dark twisted mind <3 but no I also agree that it would be such a good time for Edward to hallucinate a Bella who like... volunteers at soup kitchens, fundraises for charities, knits sweaters for orphaned piglets or some shit. just something that canon!Bella would never do—shannon

hi there Ravio I just wanted to let you know that I’m reading Twilight and suffering
I don’t even know why I’m doing this anymore it started for cultural knowledge reasons cause everybody was talking about it but now I’m on book three and I think I’m just reading it to hate Edward and criticize Bella’s critical thinking skills
I’m not even on chapter two and I’m on the verge of tears
Tumblr media
WHAT IS THIS BELLA
YOU ARENT CAUTIOUS YOU JUMPED OFF A CLIFF TO HALLUCINATE EDWARDS VOICE AND DID RISKY THINGS ON A MOTERCYCLE
WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOUR MOTHERS MISTAKE GIRL YOURE PREPARING TO DO THE SAME THING
Also like. Edward gatekeeps her and two paragraphs later she’s calling him the most perfect man in the world????
And so begins part 3 of my twilight adventure aka me taking notes on what not to do in a story
Wish me luck at this point I’m just really close to reading a Wikipedia summary and moving on with my life
HO boy sorry i just got to this! Been a very chaotic few days irl.
First of all god bless you for putting yourself through that. I don't know if i could handle twilight now neverminded when it was first released
It's even more ironic that Bella is seemingly aware of her mother's mistake AND it's supposed to be critical, and yet does the EXACT SAME THING but it gets portrayed as romantic and sweet. Not sure why smeyer made this decision. At best, it shows a lack of planning and a story that revolves its morals around a protagonist. At worst, it's actively misogynistic.
I wrote an entire paper on the YA genre glorifying toxic relationships and while Edward isn't the first toxic man, he certainly was the one to make it popular. Everything he does is framed as romantic because it's all "for bella" even though it's obviously moreso harmful. But it's okay because it's true love or whatever bullshit. And that's why I don't understand the twilight renaissance. At the end of the day, it's a series that is extremely racist and happily romanticizes abuse because Edward is white, a man, and powerful. Sure, people were jackasses and went after the series because girls liked it. But that doesn't erase the very real harm the series has done.
Good luck on the rest of your journey. Make sure to read/watch some good books/tv shows in order to keep your braincells o7

IM SO HAPPY YOU’RE DOING THE TWLIGHT REWRITE I LITERALLY JUST REREAD BOTH OF THE TWLIGHTS FICS 😭😭
☺️ Yay, I’m glad you like the other two enough to reread.
Honestly a rewrite has always weighed on my mind. This might be the last really long Twilight series unless I get a request that just ends up being a journey. But I wanted to fix so much of what I (and probably everyone else) thinks is wrong with Twilight. So canon is out the window lol. Also I’m changing Bella to Y/N cause people voted but this is still a rewrite so no Bella cause you are them.
Spoiler Alert but here are my ideas (I’m saying Bella for now instead of y/n):
- Edward isn’t so much of a dick in the Twilight book
- Not every boy is in love with Bella, they are actually just friends
- Jacob is actually a real friend and not a plot device. And Bells already knows some of the other Quileute boys she’s just not close with them yet.
- Bella doesn’t just go dress shopping with Jess and Ange to go to the bookstore, she actually wants to support them getting good dresses
- Bella is actually terrified when she realizes Edward is a vampire and gets more freaked out when he says he likes her. At first she’s only dating him because she wants to stay alive but then she starts to fall in love with him
- Rosalie is cool with Bella because Bella doesn’t want to become a vampire. Edward and the others expect her too so Rosalie is a big Bella defender because she wants to keep her human
- No weird interaction between Jacob and Edward at the prom. Jake helps Bella cause that’s his friend, Edward swoops in to finish cause he’s the boyfriend but they aren’t already heated with each other when Jake is still human
Onto New Moon
- It’s not a paper cut that sends Jasper into a frenzy but some bigger blood
- She gets lost in the woods until Sam finds her but she’s not just on the forest floor laying there
- No hallucination Edward!
- Jake visits her during her Great Depression Era and he actually brings her Forks friends and some of the future wolf pack
- when Bella is working on getting out of her depression, they’re all supportive. She gets the motorcycles as a thank you gift for Jake and also because she wants to learn as a distraction
- Jake’s mom dies and that’s what turns him. Laurent and Victoria in the area turns Embry and Seth. While Leah turns from Harry’s death
- wolves don’t cut their hair. It’s not as big a deal in Quileute history from what I researched but the still have long hair and sometimes view it spiritually. I would imagine being literal spirit warriors that are wolves would be one of those occasions so no hair cuts unless in mourning and when the cut their hair the wolf looks sickly cause fur is gone.
- when Bella finally confronts Jake there will be angst/comfort
- she puts two and two together and goes to Emily’s house to bring up the werewolf instead of the altercation with Paul cause why are we slapping people that haven’t actually done or said anything to you?
- imprinting doesn’t happen right away for wolves but usually when their imprint is in danger
- Actually showing that imprinting isn’t just romantic because wtf Stephenie Meyer? Sure the Sam Leah Emily pain fest will still happen but Quil has a girlfriend he very much plans on marrying so Claire being his imprint is very big brother. And one of the others might imprint on a Cullen to also show it isn’t romantic, not sure
- Bella and Jake fall in love. Jake imprints when she says she has to go to Italy. He doesn’t tell her and lets her go
- Volturi thing happens
- Bella is in shambles because she has to become a vampire but doesn’t want to and loves Jacob
- Edward proposes
Eclipse time!
- Bella has been avoiding Jake and he gives his imprint space until he finally has to show up to Forks high school cause of the Victoria Emmett and the wolves scene that happens
- Bella finally tells Jake what’s going on
- this is where Bella is kind of morally grey cause she does have a relationship with Jacob that’s behind everyone’s back at first
- Rosalie is still a Bella defender and basically knocks the sense into Edward and the rest of the family
- The newborn army means the Volturi do show up and because Bella is still human they install a deadline to when they will return which means she has to become a vampire
- They get to keep Bree instead of the baby dying!
- Bella’s Great Depression #2
- It’s understood that she and Edward have to put on a whole act that they are together so when Aro sees his thoughts/memories or other people’s thoughts/memories he only sees a happy couple. Bella gets to actually be with Jake since her thoughts are safe.
- Vampires can definitely have kids it’s just really rare because the body can be so incompatible. I’m thinking that maybe it’s hard for a woman’s body to accommodate the fetus since they are literal diamonds and don’t really grow or move so there is no room. And for men, the venom that mixes with their other fluids changes the properties of them. So sperm is basically destroyed by venom and isn’t potent at all (idk I think this makes more sense than it being venom because shouldn’t Bella have turned if it was pure venom?)
-Rosalie and Emmett have been trying but to no luck sometimes on Rosalie’s end and sometimes on Emmett’s end
Welcome to Breaking Dawn!
- A fake wedding and a real honeymoon
- The Vampire Baby will definitely kill Bella if taken out early and only might kill Bella if delivered. Done. No pro-life vs pro-choice debate.
- Rosalie kinda turns on Jake cause she’s always wanted a baby and now Bella has one and she needs to stay a part of the family
- of course Jake’s absolutely pissed thoughts alert the pack
- I’m gonna keep the rest a surprise
BUT feel free to leave suggestions or ideas you want to see and who you want to be Endgame!
I’m slowly going to answer the asks sitting in my inbox. Sorry I got so behind on that y’all.

tw: suicide mention
you've talked a few times about how Bella jumping off the cliff actually was a suicide attempt, but on the other hand she didn't want Laurent to kill her
What do you think is the reason for that? The time that passed? or was it more subconscious like jumping off a cliff 'for fun' is fine, being actively killed by a vampire is not?
The thing about Bella is that while I believe she was attempting suicide, and everyone else besides Bella canonically believes that was a suicide attempt no matter what she tells them, Bella herself doesn't.
She insists throughout the rest of the series that it wasn't a suicide attempt and is very surprised when everyone else assumes it was. She just thought she wanted to see Hallucination Edward again.
That said, I count it as one. First is that suicides are not always meticulously planned or rationally thought out, or even rationally acknowledged afterwards, sometimes yes, but sometimes someone in a bad mental state just takes advantage of opportunities presented. In the aftermath, Bella herself might only recognize it as "oh, I was just engaging in risky behavior again to see Hallucination Edward, the same way I've been doing several times before. I don't actually want to die". And we do see her considering doing it because of Hallucination Edward but what gets me is that, as she realizes she's going to drown, her calm acceptance of the fact. She's underwater, she doesn't know which way's up, she knows she's going to run out of air soon and there's no one to rescue her and no one knows where she's gone and she immediately accepts her death and even acts quite relieved that she's going to be with Hallucination Edward.
To me, Bella in New Moon engages in riskier and riskier behavior to see her hallucination, yes, but also to seek relief from the emotional pain she's been feeling. She doesn't want to commit suicide, at least, not purposefully, and she does try to get out of situations she gets herself into even when it seems hopeless, but she engages in activities that very well could kill her, tries halfheartedly to get out of these situations when they occur, but if her best efforts are for naught and she's dying anyway... maybe it's for the best?

It's illogical that Edward tries to claim that he doesn't love Bella in NM when he leaves. While Bella's self-esteem issues might make her believe him, isn't she supposed to be clever and intelligent and put things together easily? Wouldn't she pick up that he's trying to ease her pain and/or solidify his leaving? Why even include that aspect of his leaving when it doesn't affect the plot except to give Bella EVEN MORE angsting about Edward not loving her? Why not have him be honest?
That was my ultimate problem with New Moon.
I know for so many people the heartbreak really resonated and was wrenching and beautiful and you know, I love that for you.
But for me it was just like . . . so incredibly clear and obvious what the real reason that Edward left was that I could never fully get on board with Bella’s “oh of course he left me I’m human I’m nothing.” And I get that it’s about her self-esteem, and I get that her hallucinations of Edward was her subconscious realizing that yes, he still loved her and cared about her. Like, I understand what SM was trying to do here. I fully get it. But it was so frustrating to read when I as the reader was like “HE LEFT YOU BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU!” the whole time.
Bella, my friend, he left you after his brother tried to eat you. It’s just . . . it’s so obvious he left to protect you from death and/or vampirism and not because he got sick of you. The timing alone makes it perfectly clear.
“But he said--” girl, he lied. It was obvious he was lying. I mean . . . people talk about Bella needing therapy but that it would be useless because she can’t really tell them what’s going on but maybe at least therapy would help her with her self-esteem issues and she could be like “That son of a bitch lied and left me to protect me, I’m gonna run him over with my truck.”
And even at the end, when he’s back, and cuddling her, and telling her everything it takes like a whole chapter for her to be like “oh, you love me?” Again, I get what SM was going for but I found it really frustrating to read. Perhaps it would have worked better from a third person narrator? IDK but it was just so clear to me why Edward did what he did even on my first reading that it was frustrating that Bella didn’t see it.
The lying is my only real problem with him breaking up with her. I’ve seen people get mad at him because he didn’t give her a choice but that’s how break-ups work? They often aren’t mutual; there is usually one person who wants to end it for whatever reason and someone else who wants to keep trying. If Edward wants to break up with her because he thinks he’s bad for her that’s a choice he’s allow to make. You can’t like, force him to keep dating someone?? But he at least could have been honest about it. “Bella, I can’t stay with you. Look what happened with Jasper, you’re going to end up dead or worse, a vampire, and I can’t condemn you to that. I love you too much.” The whole lying and clean break stuff just doesn’t make a whole ton of sense, especially since Alice could foresee how it would go.
And also just like, the whole noble sacrifice of him leaving so she wouldn’t be doomed to a sad shadowy life as a vampire is completely invalidated by the vampiric fairy tale of Breaking Dawn, but that’s my other Big Problem with New Moon.

The Cullens as The Magnus Archives entities
I’m going alphabetical on this shit I’ve got the brain rot. Also I think inherently vampires are hunt coded beings, and within the realm of twilight I’d say they can also come into the stranger bc of the way humans seem to have an instinctual fear of their kinda uncanny valley appearance
Alice- first thought for Alice was to go for the eye bc of her gift but the eye deals more in the present and past, recording and watching peoples current movements, which given her gift works more with the future doesn’t quite fit, however there can be some argument made about how her gift is reliant on peoples current decisions but also the eye is confirmed to be a dumbass that doesn’t really know what to do with the stuff its recording so I feel like despite some eye leanings Alice is probably more of a Web kinda gal, she takes the info she is given and through that she manipulates everyone around her to the best possible outcome. Alice is a web girlie.
Bella- Oh my god where to start. With the lonely first of all, Bella grew up with a neglectful mother who left Bella to care for herself and, despite Bella claiming to be besties with her mum, the two were not close, between that, the distant relationship with her father due to the fact that he could only see her once a year and her apparent lack of friends in Phoenix the lonely seems an ideal candidate for pre-Cullens Bella, and once again when the Cullens leave her again in new moon. Also her gift like, her brain is completely isolated from everyone, even those who can read minds that is so lonely coded what the fuck. Its in new moon that I feel like an argument for the spiral could be made, mostly bc of the Edward hallucinations. I also feel like while not being stranger aligned, she is drawn to the stranger, like bc lets be real all twilight vampires are kinda stranger coded uncanney valley fear level that bella is just drawn to, to the point where she wants to be a part of that. I’d also wanna point out that the lonely, stranger and spiral intersect a lot in tma so like while for Bella I’d say lonely, with some leanings to the spiral and stranger. I could probably argue for more bc like corruption deals with unhealthy relationships but at a certain point it would just end with me diagnosing her as Jonathan Sims and I don’t wanna do that. (But like I pretty easily could make an argument for lonely avatar bella being touched by every entity oh my god)
Carlisle- So much of Carlisle is defined by his loneliness after becoming a vampire, he spent over 200 years being the only person he knew on his diet, with any people he met viewing him as a lil fucking weirdo for it. Like he left the Volturi to find others who share his ideals and in 200 years not a single person could understand what the fuck this guy was doing, he had to actively change people to get the company he craved, and oh boy does he crave it bc for those 200 years he was going about desperately making friends with everyone he met, but even when he was so desperately lonely did he find someone he felt he could stay with on even a short term basis, before the Cullens the closest he had was the Volturi, and like lets be real I don’t think a single person but Aro cared about him, he stayed there for 20 years for this one guy, knowing the whole time this guy has such fundamentally different values that the relationship was doomed to fail. I’m also gonna, here me out, make a kind of a stretch argument, here me out here, that Carlisle’s human life, I get this is a stretch but here me out, is kinda desolation coded. HEAR ME OUT. First off, the desolation has so much religious imagery you wouldn’t believe but also, from Carlisle’s perspective so much of the trauma and hurt that he did in his human life was completely senseless, even as he killed those people he knew that, yet he did it anyway. Also I know that in London in the 1600s most people weren’t actually burned at the stake but Stephanie Meyer doesn’t so there’s also the whole thing with fire and the desolation like it works. Anyways vampire Carlisle is the lonely human Carlisle is the desolation. I’m sure I could argue that that he probably viewed a lot of the human’s death the people he surrounded himself in Volterra committed as senseless and so still kinda desolation coded but I am reaching I’m aware of this. (I’ve also had a friend suggest the slaughter instead of the desolation which also kinda works bc like senseless violence but it is kinda at that point that the two entities intersect so)
Edward- The corruption. Like he is the corruption through and through. Also a lil bit of the eye bc of his gift but mostly the corruption. Like a major theme with the corruption is infection and Edwin died of the flu I don’t even need to argue with this one. The corruption also deals with unhealthy relationships and that’s just the plot of twilight babes. Like there is not much I can say here bc he is so corruption coded you would not believe. Anyways he is also slightly eye leaning bc he can literally read thoughts but I’d say for the most part he’s corruption.
Emmett- the Hunt, he died bc a bear was attacking him, he has experienced the feeling of being prey and through that was able to transcend humanity to become the ultimate predator like all vampires are kinda hunt coded but Emmett more than anyone (Aside maybe trackers like James but I feel like the fact that Emmett was literally prey to an animal as a human still gives him an edge)
Esme- I’d also argue corruption for Esme. Her ex husband abusing her fits within the unhealthy relationships aspect of the corruption, while her son died form lung fever, also fitting within the corruption. I do wish there was more Esme content so I could do a better analysis but
Jasper- this man is the slaughter, like close association with war, check, unpredictable violence, check. Like this is the guy who lost it at the birthday party. Mans the slaughter
Rosalie- Rose is difficult ngl, I feel like with Rose to me the thing that always stood out about her was the fact that everything always came back to her looks, like aside from Carlisle she’s the most academically and scientifically minded of the Cullens, yet all everyone ever talks about is how she looks, her intelligence from the perspective that we see within the books is barely even an afterthought to everyone around her (and like yea that’s 100% Stephanie Myer being a misogynist but like) and there’s something to me that’s so deeply flesh coded about that like I cannot let go of, bc that’s what the flesh is all about isn’t it, that no matter what we think, how intelligent we are at the end of the day all we truly are is our flesh. You could also argue corruption but tbh I just prefer the flesh for her.
Renesmee- honestly I don’t even fucking know there is the fact that she’s isolated from everyone she knows by being one of the very few members of her species and how isolating that must feel (Lonely), there’s the fact that for most of the book one of the major concerns is no one knows how long she’s gonna live and the fact that she might get executed (The end), there’s whatever the fuck went on during bellas pregnancy (The flesh), there’s the fact that this kid is not going to have a single healthy relationship in her life (Corruption)

Edward's gift-> mind reading.
Jasper's gift-> feeling & manufacturing emotions.
So, we'll go with opposites and some similarities.
Edward's gift and Jasper's are constant, maybe their offspring can use their gift at will.
I don't know exactly how canon this could be it's been A WHILE since I've emersed myself with hybrid canon.
Massive emotional and mental space. Could leave it at that ig but I am trying to spinney spin something wacky again.
So, hallucinations. Emotional Hallucination. (I don't think it's agreed upon if this is considered hallucinating or not something like that, I am no expert on such matters)
Basically, it's an extreme mood shift for no apparent reason or by external stimuli. (From my limited understanding)
Technically Jasper may be able to cause this!
Edward can only read minds. So, I was thinking about that. The offspring can project their gift. Like Jasper can.
But it's more sporadic and only really works half as well as their papas. </3 Really trying here, making things fit into canon is hard when I can only Halfway remember it at any given time.
Edward isn't immune to mental gifts and Jasper isn't immune to emotional gifts. (If I am wrong about this very basic lore thing, I may just have to reassimilate who I even am!)
So, boom we have a vampire/hybrid with resistance to mental gifts but Immunity to emotional ones. Who can occasionally if they concentrate really hard can cause their target. (Imagining Jasper & Edward can receive thoughts/feel multiple things at once.) Some mild emotional disruption.
Edward is already disturbed and so is Jasper...so basically this offspring is fucked to be a moody/emotional mess. So prone to its own gift's purpose.
Got inspiration from the Saturniidae family. (moths)
You could be right. Hypothetically if Edward and Jasper kid was bound to have a power it could be this. But we need to take in consideration that the kid could probably not have any gift.
Going trying to do thing canonically I think that the child would probably be depressed. Sorry to say it like that, but canonically, Edward would still have Bella has his blood singer (or maybe Alice would have Bella as a blood singer) but either way, the kid would have not only grow up too fast, so no childhood, but also grow up with all the Bella Swan drama.
So yes, the kid would not only block his aunt Alice's vision, they would also be on duty to help with everyone's emotions by projecting fake happiness and once the hybrid kid will be tired and sleep, every fake emotions will disolve and everyone will be back into their troubled state.
So yeah the kid wouldn't have the best life emotionally/mentally, though he would probably have really good fathers he could rely on in case anything is too much.
But this is just my opinion so yeah
Hope you have a good day anon !
