#being best friends with Eddie is just about having a natural connection

and you know what the thing is, is i don't even think the biggest problem is going to be that buck's jealous. eddie knows buck. that's the love of his life, but more than that, he just knows him intrinsically. he knows how he is. he knows he gets insecure. he knows he has abandonment issues, like. he knows. he has never once hesitated to give buck assurance and he'll give it again (that scene in buck's loft in 7x05). the problem is going to rise when eddie's relationship with tommy is still a problem after their talk, and neither of them are going to know why. becuase from eddie's pov, it's going to be like, well now you're just being ridiculous. i already told you i love you (in so many words). i already told you we're solid, i already told you nothing's going to change and you're still being weird and i don't like it. and from buck's pov, it's going to be like. i realize we had this conversation, but i still don't like this relationship. i still want things to go back to the way they were. i'm still hungry for your attention and you're not giving it to me.
and so it's like. that's where the wires get crossed. because at some point, buck is going to have to examine his thoughts and feelings again, and he's going to be like, well this man and his relationship with eddie has been the only thing that's consumed my thoughts for weeks; therefore, i must want him desperately. and it's like. yes. solid thinking there, buck. definitely no other options it could possibly be. nuh uh. makes perfect sense. 1000/10 excellent problem solving, great job, buckaroo. dumbass.

Hands Where I Can See Them, Part 5
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
Here’s the thing: Jeff isn’t actually a meddler by nature.
He’s perfectly content to let people be. He keeps himself to himself and is happy when others do the same. It’s not that he’s never curious, it’s just that he asks personal questions sparingly. And he’s probably going to ask them even more sparingly in the future, because the last time he’d asked one, he’d accidentally broken up one of his best friend’s relationships.
In fairness to Jeff, that relationship was going to blow up sooner rather than later (that is, in fact, exactly what Eddie had said to him when they’d talked a few days after the incident in question; Eddie had even said that he thinks he’d needed the wakeup call, though he’d have preferred it hadn’t happened the way it did – the way that hurt Steve so much. All the same, he seems determined to make things right, so– maybe not the worst thing in the world?), but still, Jeff feels a little… guilty isn’t quite the word, but he doesn’t have a better name for the squirm of emotion in his gut when he catches sight of Steve at Melvald’s one evening.
He hasn’t seen Steve in over a week, now – not since he’d abruptly left Eddie’s place after being unceremoniously informed that his boyfriend (Jeff’s pretty sure that’s the train Steve had been on) is apparently not actually his boyfriend.
And it isn’t as though he or Gareth or Oliver had really hung out with Steve sans Eddie before, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be willing; Jeff’s experience with Steve Harrington in high school had been peripheral at best, and though he hadn’t had the best impression of him at first, he’d actually come to enjoy his company since he started hanging around Eddie after that disaster of a spring break. He doesn’t know much about D&D (though Jeff suspects he knows a lot more than he lets on), and he’s not particularly into fantasy or sci-fi, but he does have a bizarrely encyclopedic knowledge of sports, and had been excited to learn that Jeff is into baseball and hockey.
He's just as bitchy as Jeff had always thought he was, but he’s also unexpectedly kind, and funny in a way that had caught all of them off guard, and largely seems like a solid sort of guy.
And Jeff just feels kind of shitty that the last time they hung out had ended the way it had, that’s all.
That is his main excuse for why he approaches Steve in the cereal aisle at Melvald’s at 8 p.m. on a Friday.
He clears his throat. “Hey.”
Steve turns, brows furrowed as he looks to see who’s trying to get his attention, clearly not expecting any kind of social encounter, but his expression clears a bit when he sees Jeff. “Oh. Uh– Hey,” he says. “Didn’t expect to see you here.”
“I don’t seem like the type to eat breakfast cereal?” Jeff teases, and a little bit of the tension in Steve’s shoulders seems to ease away.
“More like I thought I was the only person lame enough to be grocery shopping on a Friday night,” he counters with a smirk.
“You might be,” Jeff says, though he keeps his voice warm. “I just stopped in to pick up some snacks for the weekend after– uh,” Jeff stops short; shit, why did he bring that up?
Steve stares at him for a moment, calculating, and Jeff sees the moment he makes the connection.
“Hellfire tonight, right?” Steve asks, his tone almost unnervingly neutral as he looks back towards the shelves.
“Yeah,” Jeff says, still watching Steve carefully. “Just ended about half an hour ago.”
Steve gives a slow nod. “How was it?”
And – well, there are two options from here. Jeff could take Steve’s polite interest at face value, tell him it was a good session, and let them both awkwardly get on with their nights, or… He could be truthful, and maybe see how Steve’s really doing (which would also be awkward, so it’s not like Jeff really has much to lose).
“To be honest? Not great.” Jeff shrugs. “Eddie hasn’t been in good form lately.”
He can see the curve of a sad sort of smile cross Steve’s face, just briefly.
“That sucks, man. Hope he, uh… gets his head back in the game soon, I guess?” Steve offers.
Whether he does or not will probably be entirely dependent on how his plans to fix things with Steve play out; Eddie hadn’t told Jeff much (apparently, he’s done accidentally flying his dirty laundry for the time being), but he had said that Steve had asked for a little time, and that they would be talking again soon.
“I think he’s working on it,” Jeff says, rather than digging into that particular can of worms. “And, uh… How are you doing?”
“Fine,” Steve says a little too quickly. “I’m fine.”
Jeff pauses for a minute, pursing his lips and staring up at the ceiling. Is he really doing this? On a Friday night at fucking Melvald’s?
“It just sucks,” he finally says, “that…”
“That you all had to see that I’m actually an oversensitive loser when you realized I’d basically made up an entire relationship and then ran out over it like an idiot?” Steve suggests, his tone so false and light that it sets Jeff on edge.
“That Eddie couldn’t see that he had something really good in front of him. That he completely fumbled it,” Jeff corrects him.
It’s only after he’s spoken that he remembers they’re in a public place, and that talking to one guy about his relationship with another guy isn’t particularly safe. He glances around, hoping it’s not too little, too late, and is relieved to find that the store is just as empty as it had been when he’d first stepped in. When he looks back to Steve, he finds him staring, brows furrowed like he’s trying to puzzle something out.
“Isn’t Eddie one of your best friends?” Steve asks at last.
Jeff shrugs. “Makes me qualified to point out when he’s been an idiot.”
Steve says nothing, just pins Jeff with that confused stare for a moment longer before turning back to the shelf, as if he might finally decide on what cereal he wants.
“If it helps at all,” Jeff says, more quietly this time, “the reason we were even talking about it is because I asked Eddie how it was going – the two of you dating. We all thought you were. We were– well, probably not just as surprised as you, but pretty damn surprised when Eddie said you weren’t.”
“That… actually does. A little,” Steve answers softly, cutting a quick glance at Jeff. “Thanks.”
Jeff shrugs. “It’s just– Eddie’s not– he’s not a bad guy. He gets caught up in things, and he forgets to pay attention, but he wouldn’t do something like that on purpose.”
“I know,” Steve says, not quite sharp, but not quite gentle, either.
“Sorry, I’m not… trying to talk him up. I swear I’m not here advocating for him, or whatever.” Jeff sighs. “You’re totally within your rights to tell him to fuck off—hell, you can tell me to fuck off—I just wanted to say that if he tells you he’s sorry, if he says he wants to fix it, he really does mean it.”
“Yeah. I know,” Steve says again, and this time he sounds gentle – a little soft and distant.
Jeff reaches up and clasps one hand over Steve’s shoulder, giving it a quick squeeze before releasing him. “Anyway, if we’re not going to be seeing you at any of the regular places, you should come over and catch a game sometime.”
It seems like a given that Steve won’t be sitting in on anymore Hellfire sessions for a while, or coming to see their gigs at The Hideout like he had been (he’s already missed one, and they had all pretended not to notice the way Eddie had completely ignored the side of the room with the table where Steve would usually sit and watch), but Jeff finds himself unwilling to let go of his friendship entirely.
“Yeah?” Steve asks, glancing over again.
“Sure.” Jeff shrugs. “Offer stands. Gareth and Oliver’d be happy to see you, too.”
“They’re not into sports,” Steve says.
“But they can be bribed with snacks,” Jeff answers, and Steve gives a huff of a laugh.
“Cool,” he says, the first real smile Jeff’s seen from him all night beginning to cross his face. “I’ll give you a call sometime.”
Jeff smirks at him. “Will you have your people call my people?” he teases, and Steve reaches out to give his shoulder a light shove.
“Fuck off, man,” he snickers.
“Only because I have other things to do,” Jeff says, heading back down the aisle the way he’d come. “Night, Harrington.”
“Night,” Steve calls back after him, sounding a bit lighter than when Jeff had found him.
Feeling a little lighter himself, Jeff snags an extra package of Ho Ho’s on the way to the register. He figures he’s earned it.

I believe 'cause you're Christmas to me
the christmas tree fic full of shannon feels is finally here! <3
rating: G
words: 4.3k
summary: While the Buckley-Diaz boys decorate their Christmas tree, Eddie can't help but get emotional about Shannon, their past Christmases, and the hopeful future with his boyfriend.
[read on Ao3]
___
And now there’s Buck. His best friend, his co-parent, his partner… and since very recently, his boyfriend. It’s fairly new, just a few weeks, but it doesn’t feel like it. Eddie feels as if they’ve been together for years now. In a way, they have. They’ve been dancing around their feelings for such a long time, Eddie’s not even sure when it started. But they made it official just a while back, and the transition from friendship to romance surprisingly felt like the most natural and easiest thing in the world. Like it was always meant to happen.
This year it’s their first Christmas together as a couple, and Eddie thought he’d be nervous, but he’s really not. It’s the most normal thing, buying gifts for their kid together, decorating the house together, picking out a tree. The thing is, Buck loves Christmas. He hasn’t had the best Christmases as a child, but he loves it now, and always wants to make it as special for Christopher as possible, and wants to give him everything Buck always wanted but didn’t get. Eddie loves watching him match Chris’ enthusiasm, and being genuine about it, and, above all, making him excited about Christmas – that first one after Shannon’s death was tough, but, after all, so is his kid. Now it’s just an opportunity to connect with his mom, honor her, feel her presence in the Christmas spirit. Plus, having Buck here helps to keep the Christmas atmosphere, while he still makes sure there’s room for some reminiscing.

Eddie meeting reader's family for one of the first times and shakes the hand of a dad/uncle/whoever who's like "Munson, huh? Sounds familiar..." And his heart drops to his ass with all the bad things he knows everyone's heard about Al Munson and all the years he's spent being compared to his dad and then they go "Ah, Wayne's kid, right? Great guy, welcome, son." and it's one of the best moments of his life that not only has he broken away from the constant connection to his dad and that he's actually been accepted into r's family.
🥹🥹🥹
Yeah that split second where he’s devastated. Like oh shit, great, another place I’m gonna have to hide a part of myself to fit in at. And then your uncle just turns out to be friends with Eddie’s uncle and tells a silly fishing story from years ago. And Eddie’s able to laugh naturally at the jokes and tells some of his own and feels so seen and heard!!!

In your opinion, how do you think is going to evolve Tommy/Buck relationship? What do you think is gonna happen?
hi anon!
okie dokie. so i think the first important thing to note is that we obviously know bucktommy isn't the intended end-goal - there's a few things that clue us in about this, but generally it's pretty widely accepted throughout the fandom space that this isn't the be all and end all for buck.
that being said, this relationship still has the opportunity to be extremely meaningful for buck, and i truly believe it will be.
i do believe that tommy will be around for a while to come, as buck begins to navigate coming to terms with his sexuality. as a man coming to terms with bisexuality in his thirties, he's going to have a lot of complex emotions to navigate, and maybe some unlearning and relearning to do too, and i think tommy's going to help him to do a lot of that. additionally, his dynamic with tommy is something fresh and something that we haven't seen before out of buck in a relationship. i can't remember the last time the flirting was this innocent, for want of a better word. the flirting in buck's apartment was just flirting for the sake of it, no expectation at the end of it and i really loved it and found it extremely refreshing. i honestly wouldn't mind seeing tommy stick around for a minute, and buck getting used to being in a relationship with a man, and learning what that's like and how to navigate both himself and his partner in that set of circumstances.
that being said, as i was saying, this isn't the intended end-game for buck, and i think we all know that. the biggest clue being that tommy is an amalgamation of different facets of eddie in many different ways. i think there will come a point - and i'm not entirely sure what the catalyst will be, although i definitely have some ideas - that tommy senses the dynamic between buck and eddie, if he hasn't already. i think the connection between buck and eddie will be undeniable to tommy, and i think through viewing his life through a slightly different lens, buck may begin to recontextualise his relationship with eddie, and what he wants from it, and i think that's where our line in the sand will be; once buck has that realisation, there's going to be a point of no return - an undeniable moment of reckoning that he's been in love with his best friend for years, and i think tommy will probably get there before buck does, and things will reach their natural end.

Hello! Steve has very cuddly/"love language is physical contact" vibes, but what about:
After Starcourt, Steve is a lot jumpier. If he's not the one initiating the touch, he'll flinch away like he's scared. He likes to sleep in the same room as the people he loves, but actualy cuddling? He might wake up in the middle of a panic attack. The only exception to this is Robin (and maybe later Eddie).
Robin was the one to notice first. After Starcourt the two of them spend almost every day and night together. They're too afraid of leaving one another alone in a room, the memory of Steve being carried away by the Russians too fresh in their minds. Robin had a habit of rambling when she got talking, and when she got rambling her hands followed her energy.
The first time Steve flinched Robin freaked, she started questioning if things were ok at home, was Steve afraid of her, was he ok? Steve explained it was just a bad reminder of what happened in that room. So Robin makes sure her movements never swing in Steve's direction.
They share the bed most nights, facing each other, reminding themselves the other is ok. The first time Steve wakes them up with a nightmare Robin is very cautious, Steve's breathing is erratic, his eyes aren't focusing but Robin wants to badly to make that look on his face go away.
"Steve? Bud can I touch you?"
She doesn't get an answer, instead Steve turns and launches into her arms. They fall asleep like that, and wake up curled together. Robin learns to let Steve tell her or show her when he needs touch, and with the two being platonic soulmates, they're often seen hanging off each other.
With the kids they learn Steve is different now. He's still their favourite babysitter but they get more head rubs and pats on the back than they give him hugs. Robin had sat them down and told them to be patient with Steve, that Steve went through some rough stuff in Starcourt and not to feel bad if he acts different around them sometimes. Steve makes sure they know they're still loved, plenty of ruffled hair and more individual hugs than dog piles.
Eddie is dramatic by nature, big hand gestures, loud voices and full of affection for his friends. He tackles the kids into hugs and scoops up Robin at Family Video, even gets a high five from his new favourite Wheeler.
With Steve though he's different. He got the rundown from Robin about making sure he's in Steve's right eye of sight and to keep his voice low on bad days and aim hands away from Steve's face. He got a more threatening rundown when Robin recognised that Eddie's flirting with Steve wasn't totally platonic playing.
Eddie wants nothing more than to cuddle up to Steve every movie night, lean on his shoulder at the arcade and hold him tight. But he doesn't want to make Steve uncomfortable, sure Steve is bi but that doesn't mean he likes Eddie. So he holds in his affection the best he can.
Steve is pretty sure he's this close to being madly in love with Eddie. He sees Eddie making sure he doesn't panic Steve, sees him love his kids and connect with Robin. Steve wants to show Eddie how much he cares about him but the words just can't seem to come out right in his head.
The first time Steve does it the whole party is over for movie night the kids have taken up camp on the mattress in front of the TV while Robin lays with her head in Steve's lap, dozing off and Eddie on Steve's other side. They're halfway through the movie when Eddie realises Steve's a lot closer than before. Before he knows it Steve has completely relaxed against Eddie's side, also dozing off. Eddie tries not to tense up so Steve doesn't regret doing this. He doesn't remember the rest of the movie too busy enjoying the view of a soft Steve laying next to him.
After that Steve seems to always be in Eddie's space, not that Eddie minds. When Eddie hangs behind the counter at work Steve rests his head on his shoulder. Every movie night Steve is cuddled up to his side. At the quarry Steve dozes in the sun with his head in Eddie's lap. Eddie doesn't know what to do with this information but he doesn't want to bring it up and for Steve to stop.
It all comes to a head one night. Eddie had come over to watch movies with Steve and they ended up in Steve's bed getting ready for sleep which wasn't uncommon. Eddie had been woken up by Steve's screaming.
"Steve, Stevie wake up please you're having a nightmare."
Eddie knew he wasn't supposed to touch, but Steve was crying and Eddie couldn't help it. The moment Eddie touched Steve's shoulder he shot up, eyes wide. When they focused on Eddie, Steve wrapped his arms around him and pulled him tightly to his chest.
"Y-You were dead, Eds. I felt you die and I couldn't save you."
"Hey, hey sweetheart I'm ok, I'm ok I promise, you saved me, I'm ok."
Steve didn't let go even when they woke up in the morning. Eddie was careful about touching Steve not wanting to spook him now that it was morning.
"You're allowed to hug me, Eddie."
"Robin said I had to let you do the touching."
"She's right but overprotective. You're allowed to touch."
Oh. Oh.
From then on Steve was always seen wrapped around Eddie or Robin or both. Their fingers intertwined in the car, Steve in Eddie's lap at Hellfire and most importantly, Steve and Eddie entangled and safe in bed every night.

And yet if it was all questions related to Tommy they wouldn’t have a concern in the world. They like to say stop making it about buddie, and that it should be about just Buck, but then they turn right around and make it all about Tommy and his perfection. But like you said, asking about buddie is asking about bi Buck. And not to mention buddie is 6 years worth of history at this point. And we’ve learned enough the last few days to know a big portion of bucks bi sexuality was in tandom with Eddie. There is next to nothing to go off of in terms of things related to Buck Tommy. They have had a single kiss and a bad date. That’s it. Interviews would get like one question out of that and then end of topic.
Yeah, I just don't get the hype 🤷🏻‍♀️ Which is normal, I'm a chronic mono-shipper so I just avoid ships that aren't for me and block tags and such. But it's hard because right now there is a LOT of mis/cross tagging so I'm trying to just stay in my bubble.
But yeah, it's weird that people are both saying this should ONLY be about Buck but are also mad that it's not more about Tommy. He's a side character whose job is to move the plot forward, and there are lots of other storylines going on that are going to get the focus in upcoming weeks, and they haven't shot the last couple episodes yet so what is Oliver supposed to say? If there are only a couple more scenes with him and Lou coming up while the storyline focuses on Madney, Bobby, and Henren, he won't want to spoil them. If they already have maped out where the relationship reaches its natural end, he's not going to spoil that either but also won't want to super hype up a relationship he knows isn't going to last. He HAS made a point to say he hopes Tommy can stick around as a friend which to me says that the cast enjoys working with Lou and the audience has been mostly receptive so it's a good character for the show to keep in their back pocket as a recurring guest.
But Buddie??? Oliver has YEARS of pent up Buddie stuff he didn't feel like he could talk about, especially after FOX shut down the storyline, and that he's talking about it now tells me conversations have been had with him, Ryan, Tim, and the network about what possibilities are open to them and likely a broad timeline/plan. Which is of course, subject to change as we saw with this originally being planned for Eddie but due to actress availability, got shuffled around but I don't think they would be clearing these questions and Oliver especially would be answering so freely if he didn't feel like it's where things are eventually heading. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Also, I think it's important to remember it's a STORY and so of COURSE people are pulling in threads from previous seasons and connecting the dots because that's what you do with stories. And from the first moment Buck sees Eddie and doesn't quite know what that feeling is that he's getting, it's all been tied up in Eddie, with the show reinforcing that relationship at every turn. Why WOULDN'T people make it about Buddie when the story itself tells us it always has been? I just don't always get the "these stories have to be entirely separate from each other" because beyond all else Buck and Eddie are best friends. Of course their stories are going to include each other and be intertwined! And if Buck is looking at his life with new eyes or Eddie is examining what he actually wants in a partner for himself, why WOULDN'T they examine their relationship with each other since it's the most prominent one they have?
ANYWAY

Who is Mike Wheeler for you and his top 5 moments in your opinion?
Hiii!! This is going to be big because it's been a while since I posted anything focused on this guy.
For me, Mike Wheeler is a complex character. Like love him or hate him. Unfortunately, many hate him. I'm on the love him almost always, hate him sometimes team. He is a character with flaws, which makes him very human. But I love him despite all his flaws, even though sometimes he makes me want to pull out my hair.
Mike is loyal, kind, fair and not afraid to fight for the people he loves. He is extremely smart and has an impressive ability to connect facts. The best plans of the first seasons came from him and I'm sure that if he had been in Hawkins in season 4, he and Nancy would have made a strong team against Vecna. (looking forward to this duo in season 5).
His biggest flaws for me are not thinking before speaking and sometimes not owning up to his own mistakes, placing responsibility on other people. Of course, many of his actions come from trauma, depression, the pressure he suffers as a child in the middle of all the chaos in the Upside Down. But, you can't justify everything with trauma. Mike has flaws like all the other characters and that's normal.
Unfortunately, he has very low self-esteem. He believes he's just a random nerd while all his friends are special in some way. In the first season he associates the fact that Dustin can contort his arms as a form of super power. In the second season he believes that Will's connection to the UD makes him a super spy. And of course, he sees El, the person who actually has powers as superman a superhero.
What Mike fails to see, and thanks Will to actually point it to him, it's that Mike is especial. The heart, as Will says. The other members of the party needs him. He is a leader by nature. He is so smart and so important to everyone. especially Will hehe.
As the seasons go on, we notice Mike trying to conform. In the first seasons, Mike is a proud nerd. Despite being bullied, he continues to play DnD and continues to embrace the things he enjoys, like dressing up as Ghostbusters on Halloween. The change actually occurs in the third season.
It's clear that Mike associates growing up with putting his interests aside and finding a girlfriend. We see Mike pulling away from his friends, especially Will, because he wants to spend as much time as possible making out with El. He even lies to his friends, something that Mike from the first seasons would never (I'm talking about him saying that he needs to take El home because of the time and his friends themselves know that it's too early for that and even called him out on it).
I think season three is where Mike is trying to force conformity the most. He stops playing DnD, starts wearing the clothes his mother picks for him (confirmed by Eddie at the beginning of season 4) and starts focusing on the relationship with El in an exaggerated way. Looking at reddit a while ago, there were people saying that Mike was turning into his father and I think the third season is the one that gives that impression the most.. I mean...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the fourth season we see that Mike is returning to who we knew. He joined Hellfire, started playing DnD again, he's dressing like Eddie. I think Eddie is very important to Mike because Mike sees him as a cool guy who is not afraid to show what he likes, who don't care about what people thinks of him and is proud do be a freak. That's all Mike was scared to show on S3. It's sad because Mike never had it at home.
While Will had Jonathan, Dustin had Mike himself and Lucas had his family to tell them that's okay to be different and that what makes people think they are freaks is actually what makes them special, Mike had no one. His father doesn't care, he can't connect with his mother and Nancy is focused on herself and her own things. While Eddie hadn't say that directly to him, he inspires Mike to try. He even voices to Lucas that they are nerds and freaks and they don't want to be popular.
But of course something happened when he was going to Cali. Suddenly he is wearing outfits that reminded us of S3, he has a huge change of behavior that wasn't there on episode one and clearly something is off. There is something wrong with his relationship with El and worse with his relationship with Will. He even made that comment to El about Angela at dinner and thats clearly a parallel to his father behavior. So yeah, it was a very S3 Mike, having both the rain fight from S3 and clothes to parallel with.
Again, we are seeing Mike pushing Will away to focus on El. Except... we are shown that Mike was actually hyper aware of Will... "You were moping, rolling your eyes, barely talking". That's the first change. We found out that Will and Mike only talked a couple of times during that six months (for some reason a whole year for both of them) and while we can assume why Will had not tried to contact, we don't know why Mike didn't try to, only finding out that he did try and whined about it all the time with Dustin later. Miscommunication trope. After the whole fiasco at Rink o Mania we see what's wrong with him and El too, El is lying to him and he can't say ily.
Now with the part that many will disagree with, but that's okay. Mike's sexuality. Mike does not have a confirmed sexuality and has been placed in the middle of a love triangle where he is the center.
Mike can't seem to balance his relationship with both of them at once. If he fights with El, he get closer to Will. If he gets closer to El, he leaves his friendship with Will aside. Since the first season we have NEVER seen the three of them together with Mike completely fine with both of them. At the end of the third season, when he finally resolves things with both of them, they both leave Hawkins and S4 starts with everything different.
People like to justify this with "Mike noticed Will's feelings or that he's gay and is uncomfortable around him" which isn't true. Both the duffers and Finn have already confirmed that Mike has no idea. He is oblivious. People also say that this is normal, that real teenagers act like this. The thing is... Mike isn't a real teenager. His motivations, actions, thoughts must be in accordance with that character's narrative and with the way the writers want us to see him.
I had said that one of Mike's flaws is that he sometimes blames others for his attitude. We see this clearly in his relationship with El and how different this is in his relationship with Will. Mike lies to El in the third season and when El gets angry (rightly so), he blames Hopper and Max as if she had corrupted El. Mike has a big fight with Will in the third season after him and Lucas made fun of Will and ends up saying things that made Will sad. He immediately goes to Will's house to apologize and his words are "I was being a total asshole, could you please step outside so we can talk?".
In the fourth season Mike fights with El because he can't tell her he loves her and his words are "Who said that I didn't?" and "You can't let this mouth breakers ruin this, ruin us". In his mind, the people who bullied El are to blame for El not feeling loved by him. Also in the fourth season he fights with Will about Will not telling with him that El was being bullied, to which Will responds that there would be no way for him to tell him since Mike didn't even try to talk to him, they argue and once again Mike goes to Will to apologize and when Will tries to take the blame, Mike says "No, you don't deserve anything. The truth is the last year has been weird. Max, Lucas and Dustin are great but it's Hawkins and it's not the same without YOU (not Will and El, just Will) and I was worrying so much about El and feel like I lost you". Again he takes the blame, even if it wasn't just his fault in this situation. I love Will, I understand why he didn't try to contact Mike, but he can't just blame Mike when he didn't try either.
When El leaves, Mike is stuck with Will. Everything goes to shit and they share a lot of heart to hearts. For some reason, Mike hides Will what the real issue is. His words are "I should had said something (?) and if I just said that thing (?) I think she would be here with us". Well, he knows damn well what he should have said. El cries to him for it and he didn't say it.
Another heart to heart with Will in the desert and here goes Mike "I should have explained myself because maybe she would have take me with her and things would be different, but I didn't know what to say". Well... What's there to explain, Mike? You could just have said that you love her. In fact, I think she would fell really loved without Mike even saying it if Mike said the same thing he said to Will to her instead.
And then before the van scene, Mike's words are "I'm scared that she doesn't need me anymore. The truth is: when I stumble her in the woods, it's not fate, it's not destiny, it's just simple dumb luck and one day she is going to realize that I'm just a random nerd that got lucky that superman landed on his doorstep".
That again shows Mike's low self esteem. He thinks that people around him are close to him because they need him. Also, Mike is moving backwards here. While on episode one he says he doesn't want to be popular and that he proudly is a nerd and freak, now he thinks that he is a just a random nerd that is lucky that people needed him and if they don't, he is going to be left behind. The way he says that breaks my heart, he really believes that.
Will gives Mike the painting and his speech about Mike being the heart and Mike absolutely melts into it. Mike is finally seeing how other people (Will) sees him. Except that Will is lying and everything he said are his feelings, not El's. El does not feel that way, in fact, we don't know how El feels. It's sad, but it's the truth, El never said anything to Mike about what she likes about him and we never see her saying it to other people too. When El is talking about Mike with Max we just find out that she doesn't know if Mike is a good kisser and that Mike is just her first boyfriend.
That's one of the reasons Mike is so insecure about his relationship. I've seen some people saying that Will's speech is how El feels even after the confirmation that it was Will's and his speech has nothing to do with her.
Well, this is not a byler analysis and I'm here to talk about Mike, but I need to say the last thing about it. It's such a interesting writing choice to instead of making Mike monologue to El on his own without hesitation, they decided to have Will telling Mike to do it and making not only Mike but us to remember of his van speech and Will's feelings for him.
We will have to wait and see where they are going with it and how Mike will react to this information, but Finn's word are "the duffers said it will pay off" and "I think there is going to be a mutual understanding and acceptance". So, I'm sorry for people who wants Mike to be homophobic toward Will and seriously, if you do believe that Mike would be something like that, even after he pushing Troy for being homophobic with Will, you don't know Mike at all.
My interpretation for it is: Mike is a gay boy trying to conform. He witnessed how Will was bullied bc of his sexuality and he knows how bad Lonnie was with Will because of it. His father watch the news everyday and he sees how the propaganda against queer people are. He is not purposeful using El and I hate when people says that. He is figuring out himself. He loves El, he loves her so much. What he is starting figure out is that the love he feels for her is platonic and that doesn't mean that this love is less strong as a romantic one. He is scared of losing her. He lost her once and he doesn't want to lose her again. And that's maybe what he wants to explain so much. That's maybe "the thing" he has to say that it's scary to him. If Mike thinks that El is dating him because she needs him, what is going to happen when she finds out he can't love her the way she wants to be loved? He is going to lose her. Mike is not ready for this conversation and that's why he agrees when Will said that's scary to open up to people you care about the most because they could not like the truth right after he said that he needs to explain himself.
I really really wish people would go read about internalized homophobia and how far it can go before calling us delusional for recognizing it on Mike's attitudes, not only going to Google and reading "internalized homophobia is when someone is gay and doesn't accept it" and closing it right after. He is starting to realize that the way he feels about Will is the way he is supposed to feel about El and this is scary as f*ck... I've been there... Mike is lost in the middle of what he really wants and what people wants for him and he doesn't know how to proceed. Everything being worse with him being in the middle of the supernatural shit happening and he watching over and over again both Will and El as a target of it. Just like Nancy on s1, Mike will have to chose if he stays in a loveless relationship like his parents because that's what people expects from him and it's "normal" or follow his own path and stop trying to conform.
Mike has depression and PTSD. His relationships are not the only part of his character. We can see that he barely eats anything in the fourth season, with shots of Will watching him messing with his food instead of eating it. There is also a shot of Will reacting concerned about Nancy's comment about the mess in Mike's basement because he knows that this is not normal, Max also comment on it so it's really something they want us to notice. We haven't been in Mike's POV for a while and it worries me a lot that the duffers decide to make Mike Vecna'd so that we can finally find out everything that's going on in his head.
Mike has the most overlooked trauma in the show imo. Everyone just act like he is just being difficult instead of actually pay attention to WHY Mike behaves like he does sometimes. Unfortunately, this happens with the audience too. People who hate him and write whole essays about how he is not the same just see the surface level of his actions and instead of trying to understand his reasons, they just hate on him.
He had to see El "dying" right in front of him. He had to witness his best friends body presumedly dead being pulled out the water. He witnessed everything that happened with Will throughout his possession. He had to fight the mind flayer, saw his friends struggling without knowing who would survive, saw someone (Billy) dying right in front of him, saw his sister almost dying because of the mind flayer too. He had already seen Will being targeted by the Mind Flayer and then had to see El being targeted by it too, without her powers. He had to come up with a lot of plans to save their friends that could have gone so much wrong and he would blame himself for everything. He has to deal with being queer in the 80s, were the AIDS was at its peak and associated exclusively with queer people.
I think this is to big already so I will just finish saying that I want to see more Mike in S5, not only related to that unresolved love triangle but also the Mike we love, that come up with crazy plans and the leader that he aways was, the one that is going to jump in on every change he has to protect his friends and will fight for what's right.
Now finally, my fav moments:
Mike and his reaction to Will's body being pulled out the water
Tumblr media
From the moment Heroes starts playing, I see Hoppers reaction and Mike vocalizes "It's not Will, it can't be" to the moment he comes home and hugs his mom I'm destroyed. No matter how many times I watch this scene, if I'm rewatching the whole season or just watching it though a reel. I cry hard on this one. All the damn time.
Mike pushing Troy for being homophobic to Will
Tumblr media
This shows how brave Mike Wheeler is and how he stands up for his friends. He was the target of Troy and his bullying for years. Still, he defended Will when Troy made homophobic comments about him and he doesn't even thought to much about it.
Mike's monologue to Will
Tumblr media
It's one that also makes me cry a lot. He is being so genuine here, so vulnerable. It's like while he is talking he himself is realizing that asking Will to be his best friends is the best thing he was ever done.
Mike and his break down to Hopper when he found out he was hiding El
Tumblr media
This is so sad. Mike had to see El "dying" right in front of him. He thought he lost her. He blamed himself, thought he was going crazy but them he finds out that Hopper knew where she was all the time. Mike breaks down not only because of this, but I feel like it was about everything that happened that season. It was too much for that kid.
Mike and his cute and flirty apologize to Will after their fight
Tumblr media
I mean... this is so cute. Both of them were tearing up. Mike using his Will Voice TM. He apologizing for everything that happened between them and promising that whatever comes next, they will be a team no matter what. The interruption trope and the fact that if Jonathan hadn't entered the room, they would keep staring lovingly at each other 😭
honorable mentions to: Mike jumping off the quarry to protect Dustin, Mike and his sassy face to Steve at their movie date, Mike and his theatrical speech as a DM and Mike's reaction to Will's painting. but you told me to pick just 5 and this is already too long LOL
Ty for the ask!

just friends—Eddie Munson x gn!reader
summary: you’re somewhat oblivious to Eddie’s attachment towards you. Until someone makes it painfully clear what you’re missing out on.
word count: 1.7k
A/N: no usage of gender specific terms (but if I missed anything, please let me know!), fluff, Eddie is smitten with you. Based on this right here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media

If you were being honest with yourself, you were reluctant to befriend any of them.
You were a little afraid to be around some of Hawkins High School’s most popular students; you had heard the tales and needed to see what you needed to see. In other words, you had ample evidence that you were just a nameless face who probably didn’t belong with Steve “The Hair” Harrington, Robin Buckley, Nancy Wheeler, Jonathan Byers, or Eddie Munson. Given that you more or less looked up to each of them in a particular way, it was truly a vicious loop.
You were at the center of their close-knit group, but you were still frightened you didn’t belong. You couldn’t quite shake the impression that you weren’t the right match for their group, despite their repeated assurances to the contrary, especially Eddie’s. But in all honesty, Eddie played a significant role in your continued presence there.
He had a comforting way with words, a soothing way to make you laugh, if that made sense. But things don’t always have to make sense, do they? Sometimes they just fall into place like it’s the most natural thing in the world, and it’s one of the best feelings.
No matter what, he always managed to make you laugh, and it came naturally too. You could even say that you had a special connection, which made him—and Robin—your closest friends in the group.
These types of outings are common for your little ensemble—sharing stories, sipping drinks, and laughing together—but tonight, you’re feeling a little anxious. You may have had a particularly long and hard week and have been turned down by yet another college, so you needed the beers that were coursing through your veins.
“Hello there,” Eddie’s cheerful voice awakens you.
He moves closer to you and peers at your face. His eyes, soft and big, reflect the fire in incandescent ways, the flames practically dancing in them.
“Hey,” you salute him, a polite smile on your face.
“What’s going on? You seem aloof.”
You frown, vaguely amused. “’Aloof’?”
“What, I can’t use fancier words?”
“Not sure ‘aloof’ is a fancy word, but… go nuts.
Eddie’s smile fades as he scoots even closer to you, still searching your face for clearer answers.
“Seriously now, is everything okay?” he asks. “We don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to, but… your face says something else.”
You huff, mirroring his look, and for the first time that evening, you feel warm.
“It’s been a long week,” you confess. “Kinda disappointing too. Which is why I’m glad we’re here. I really needed this.”
Eddie’s smile returns as he holds his beer to celebrate with you as well. “I’m glad you’re here, too.”
You clink the bottle with his, a surprised expression on your face. You are thankful that the campfire and the chilly October weather have turned your cheeks an auburn color, which hides your nervousness.
“I’m gonna grab some marshmallows, show these suckers the right way to make s’mores,” Eddie gloats. “Be right back.”
You giggle, attracting the looks of Robin and Steve.
“Is there something funny?” you ask the two, who quickly exchange another glare before responding with an even more questioning expression.
“Nothing, no,” Robin clarifies.
Steve, instead, seems to check the perimeter before taking a seat next to you, indirectly encouraging Robin to do the same.
“Can’t believe you don’t see it,” Steve concludes.
A frown crinkles your forehead.
“You really don’t see it?” Robin pushes.
“See what? What are you talking about?”
Steve puffs and chuckles at Robin, who mimics the reactions.
“What are you ladies laughing at?” you insist.
“Eddie?” Robin raises her brows, as if that is supposed to be clear and obvious.
“Why are you laughing at Eddie?”
“No, I mean – we meant… you and Eddie.”
Steve purses his lips, nodding enthusiastically towards you and Robin, and then it hits you. It finally dawns on you, and you almost cannot believe what you are hearing.
“Me and Eddie? There’s no—me and Eddie. Not in that tone, at least,” you clarify. “We’re friends. We’re just friends.”
Robin’s jaw practically drops, like you just stated the most unbelievable thing ever. In the same way that Steve is staring at you while running his hands through his hair, you are momentarily tempted to think that you actually did say something absurd.
“Are you joking?” Robin asks, genuinely astonished.
“You gotta be joking,” Steve adds.
“He looks at you like you’re his entire world.”
It’s your turn to be stunned. You stare into the fire, processing the words that have been so casually thrown down your way, and while Steve is seemingly keeping Eddie occupied with questions about s’mores, you start to think. You start to really think.
It’s true you have always been very fond of Eddie, right from the start. His funny aura and the way he never took himself too seriously have captivated you without fail, and the fact that he was one of the most unconventional people you have ever met, and proudly showcased that, made him all the more endearing.
But you wouldn’t have assumed that all of his witty comments, flirtatious hints, and endearing gestures were anything other than friendship. Before realizing he categorically did not act this way with either Nancy or Robin, you assumed he behaved that way with others as well.
Only to be proven wrong now.
“Hello? Are you still with me?” Robin shakes a hand in front of you.
You return down to earth, catching a glimpse of Eddie giving instructions on how to roast the marshmallows properly, and you find yourself smiling.
“Yeah. Still here,” you say, visibly distracted.
“And?”
“I just thought he was being overly friendly. I thought it’s his way of showing love to people, being a little handsy, all the flirting…”
“Wow. You know, I’m into girls and even I saw this from miles away.”
“But why hasn’t he said anything?”
“Maybe he’s waiting for the right time. Or waiting for a signal from you saying it’s okay.”
“When would the right time even be? I mean—“
Robin sighs, audibly and irritatingly, and you turn to her.
“When would the right time be? Hmm, gee, I don’t know. Maybe around a fire, with a little alcohol, the quiet of the city, the stars…”
You’d face-palm yourself if it wouldn’t attract unwanted attention. But of course, you know Robin is correct. Tonight does seem kind of ideal in terms of confessions—or at the very least, answering some questions.
“Could you not say anything to the guys just yet till I figure this out?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll keep them out of your sight,” Robin winks at you.
Heart in your throat, you smile when you meet Eddie’s benevolent face. You see it light up, like he’s truly mesmerized to look at you. The idea makes your knees weaken and your heart race faster. It seems inconceivable and yet, at the same time, it also feels like the most natural thing in the world.
“Looks like someone’s doing a little better,” he teases, resuming his seat next to you.
“Yeah.”
“What’d you do, pound back another beer while I was gone?”
“No. But I did finish this one.”
“Ooh, misbehaving, are we?”
Oh sure, now you hear it.
Idiot.
“Maybe a little,” you coyly reply. “Hey, Eddie?”
“Yeah?”
You hesitate in the slightest, taking a step back to think about what you want to say, but nothing concrete comes to mind. So all you got now is essentially a staring contest with Eddie, and it looks like he’s winning with those wide, deep and brown chocolate eyes.
“Are we in a staring contest of some sort?” Eddie asks, apparently reading your thoughts.
“Sorry. I was just thinking of something I wanted to say and… the way you’re looking at me right now is—“
“What?”
He’s genuinely confused, which makes it all the more endearing and unbearable.
“A bit overwhelming,” you confess. “Cause you’re looking at me like there’s no one else here and—“
“Would it be bad if no one else was here?”
His question stuns you; you don’t do anything to conceal your surprise and Eddie takes it as a hint to continue.
“I mean, no offense to these guys, but right now, with the sky full of stars, the drinks, the fire… kinda makes me wanna kiss you.”
Your eyes widen even further, and gosh, Eddie hasn’t seen a sight more lovable than that. You resemble a deer, curious if you should proceed or not, and he decides in the spur of the moment to take your hand into his. You feel the coolness of his rings against your skin and you shiver, thought that’s merely part of the real reason.
“Oh,” you say, crumbling on the inside. “Oh, that’s—I mean, uh—that sounds nice.”
“Yeah?”
Oh, there’s something in the way he says that. It’s a little flirtatious and daring, but it’s also testing the territory as if asking for your permission. You take a look around, notice the rest completely enthralled by some story Steve is saying, and you figure there’s no better time—or a more romantic one, at that.
When you smile and nod shyly, Eddie leans in, eyes fluttered shut as he pecks your lips. It’s chaste and sweet, straight to the point, and the message is well received. Damn. To think you could’ve enjoyed this much earlier had you not been so blind.
Sadness overcomes you as he pulls away. Maybe if you play your cards right, you could extend this momentum for later, when everyone will be gone.
“That was—nice,” it’s all you can muster to say.
“Why, thank you. I’ve had a bit of practice.”
You stifle a chuckle, suddenly extremely aware that you’re still holding his hand.
“So… if I were to, say, ask you out on a date…?”
“I’d like to, yeah.”
You don’t remark Nancy’s subtle gaze down you and Eddie’s way. Truthfully, all around you sort of blends into one big pile of random colors and shape, the only distinguishable one being Eddie.
“Uh, did you know anything about Eddie and—? “Nancy mutters towards Robin.
“No idea what you’re talking about,” Robin smiles.
Huh. Maybe you do belong in this group after all.

-pokes head in with a prompt- Hi, it me, Brightside!
Billy gets brought back 'wrong', Eddie gets brought back 'wrong', but one thing Vecna underestimated was the homoeroticism of one Steve Harrington. Now all three are on a cross country road trip in a stolen bus or RV to save the world. These are their stories -dun dun-
Your thoughts?
Tumblr media
STEVEN NOT AGAIN.
Okay so what I'm imagining is the Upside Down after Vecna's defeat is repairing itself back to what it used to be, and since everything is a hivemind it just repairs everything. That includes whatever was left down there, including Eddie and Billy's body. Billy's body technically isn't physically there, but since he was hive-minded and kept in one piece at one point there is a Billy somewhere down there.
Except of course humans don't naturally exist there so they get revived using non-human materials. My idea is the UD repaired them like they did the Mind Flayer body so they're semi... liquid. Not entirely! But whatever was lost was filled in with evil putty. And the evil putty may or may not be controllable.
To make it cool it looks like tattoos once their bodies (forcefully) accept the goo. I am a sucker for sun scar Billy and bat scar Eddie, so that's what the 'tattoos' look like, which are entirely black. They're not entirely controlled by the Upside Down, but there's a part of it still in them. It freaks Billy out way more than it does Eddie since he's half convinced that he's not in control of himself again, but Eddie manages to calm him down and get everything explained for him.
After a while Vecna (>:() gets a hold of himself and decides to try yet again! Man is as stubborn as a toddler in search of ice cream. Eddie and Billy find out somehow, perhaps through a democreature they managed to befriend to their side and decide 'Yeah no that's not gonna happen again' and figure out a way to portal back into the real world. They're not the greatest at it (all hands on deck), and only manage to open a rift near the closest person they could imagine.
That being of course a Steve Harrington. Steve of course is besides himself because not only is Eddie alive, so is Billy. They're both supposed to be dead! Eddie and Billy find out that after Hawkins was destroyed Steve stayed just long enough to help with reparations until he disappeared with Robin out across the country, back in sunny California because where else would it be. Perhaps Steve wanted a taste of the sea, reminiscing about stories Billy told him by the quarryside and needing to see it for himself out of memoriam for both him and Max.
Except, well. Turns out he's back.
And after a tearful reunion and some relaxing they explain what was going on in the UD and Steve decides (after a lot of griping) that he's going back into the fray.
Lucky for him, he's gotten the RV of his dreams and now his Billy and Eddie back. He finds out about their new abilities a few hours in when a bump in the road knocks over a cup and before it shattered Eddie caught it with a black vine shooting out of his side.
... So there's that.
For a lingering danger over their heads they sure do take a long time getting there. Why stress? The world is their potato. Perhaps the black duo still have a connection that tracks how close Vecna is to coming back again and know there's a lot of time (Steve and Robin get a lot of congratulations for defeating Vecna so hard he's taken this long to collect himself). Steve's learning a lot about his feelings towards the recently revived and also a lot about his body's feelings towards the recently revived.
Robin comes along as well. She has to leave the RV often for the privacy of her best friend. Perhaps even picks up a girlfriend on the way who is oddly very okay with what's going on in the studio. Maybe even two girlfriends, Robin has two hands.
They have a lot of souvenirs as they go along and the RV is just filled with trinkets by the time they return to Hawkins to save the world a fifth time.
#stranger things#steve harrington#billy hargrove#eddie munson#robin buckley#vecna/henry/one#harringroveson#vecna on the other hand since he isn't connected with billy or eddie doesn't find out about their abilities until the fight#he thinks the only power-inclined people are him and el#he gets all haughty upon seeing billy again and thinking he can tempt him back over to his side#except turns out vecna promising love is WAY different than steve and eddie proving it time and time again to him#he may not like himself but DAMN does he love his boys!#sadly eddie and billy did not get bat related or sun related superpowers#eddie would have loved to fly around like a bat#alternatively though.... they do#with eddie being chewed on by bats and billy feeling the effects of fireworks and the whole failed sauna thing#they ended up inheriting that as well and steve finds out during the massive road trip#it was totally by accident#billy got so excited he threw his fists up and suddenly there was a whoosh and a crackle above him#and there were fireworks startling everyone#afterwards they try to see if eddie got rabies (kidding) and find his bat wings#robin finds it OP because billy can fight with fire now and that's the UD's weakness#the fireworks affect billy and eddie some but as long as it's not actually towards them they're fine#billy's hands can take it#vecna doesn't understand why he can't control the UD that is in the mungrove#its because the gay gay homosexual gay is stronger than forced control#the kids are still back in hawkins because max is still there#and they refused to leave her side#steve and robin while they do love the kids needed to leave#it was hopper's decision because steve's been battered to hell and back and his noggin can only take so much

Something I'm still not really over... and probably won't ever be
Like, others have already pointed this out, but it's just soooooo *chef's kiss* that I will swoon over this forever and always:
That the show is driving the point home HARD that Buck and Eddie are the ones who get each other best. That they are each other's safe space.
Tumblr media
The interviews after the last episode confirmed that Eddie took Buck along to the secret poker club to support him and basically get him out of his head. Buck just went through a very traumatic experience (okay, there's been a few... but that one's the most recent!). He admitted to Eddie that he doesn't really know how he feels (or what to do with those mixed feelings, also embodied by Buck wondering about what to do with his math skillz). So Eddie took him out for some good-natured fun. He gave Buck a safe space to enjoy himself, boost his confidence, and forget about his troubles for a while.
Further to the point: In the previous episode, Buck escaped to Eddie's house. Because as well-intended as Maddie's efforts were, they weren't really what Buck needed to put his mind at ease. In the end, he went to the place he needed to be, and that wasn't his sister's, it was Eddie's. That is where he found himself enough at ease to let go, to sleep, and to calm down. Which then created an opening for Eddie to ask him how he truly is - and got a more genuine, deeper reaching reaction than anyone else did.
It was such a neat callback to Eddie telling Buck that he may have to accept that Chimney understands Maddie in different ways than Buck does. And that Chimney thus better understands what she truly needs (someone to come get her, instead of giving her space). It later turns out that Eddie was right: Maddie needed Chimney to come find her, so she could come home again.
Now they are turning that back around this season, and it's so damn neat in terms of storytelling and so damn wonderful to watch, espeically as a shipper. Because Maddie, much like Buck in the previous season, doesn't really know what he needs. Buck himself doesn't know consciously. But he eventually follows his impulse to seek out Eddie. Because Eddie understands him in a way that no one else does, not even his sister.
Side note: I also find it interesting that they make an effort to show that Buck's and Maddie's relationship is changing in a lot of ways. Like, they began as this unit of "us against the rest of the world" and re-established that special connection, when she sought him out in L.A. Buck and Maddie were often shown to get each other best (and will continue to, in a lot of ways). But the narrative also wants us to see that there are facets they don't know about each other, as siblings. Because those are the ways in which only their (romantic) partners understand them, hence Chimney and Eddie. And I do think that's purposeful.
It's not just because Eddie shared a similar experience (near-death experience) that uniquely enables him to understand Buck and his needs. It's not just that Eddie is Buck's best friend. Eddie's very nature, his personality, his temperament is what makes him most apt in helping Buck deal with this. It's how he's interacted with Buck from the very beginning of their relationship.
Like, we often joke about it or read it in fanfiction, but it really is like that with Eddie and Buck. Eddie gets Buck. Buck gets Eddie.
In most instances, it's Eddie who understands what's really going on with Buck, even without anyone giving him a hint. He understands what Buck needs to hear after the tsunami, or after the shooting. He understands those inner turmoils in a way that maybe even Buck doesn't get it, until Eddie says it. Eddie's basically a natural at gearing his interaction with Buck to fit that need. Very often, it's about just being there, about showing up (or giving Buck the opportunity to show up), letting him know that the sees him and takes him seriously (callback to what Buck appreciated about Abby much!!!).
And this season, we see it yet again. Eddie was not part of Maddie's agenda. He didn't do the check-ins the way the others did. But when Buck was finally ready to talk, when he needed him to be there, Eddie was there, to listen, to offer perspective. Like, he nudged a bit during the conversation in the kitchen, asking if he was now allowed to ask Buck how he is (which shows that he really wanted to ask before, but chose to hold that back - because Buck wasn't ready yet). But he didn't push. Because that's not what Buck needed him to do. Buck needed to calm down, to have a safe space to talk about it, without anyone pushing him too hard. And that's exactly what Eddie did.
Someone very clever whose post I can't seem to find (I need to better order my drafts and all, I know, I know...) pointed out that it's the other way around for Eddie. Eddie needs someone to push him. And that is what makes them such a perfect match for each other.
Last season, Eddie needed someone like Buck to keep pushing, to be insistent, to not let this go. Be it about staying in a dead relationship or addressing his PTSD. Buck didn't just show up. He was there for him and for Christopher, especially since the shooting (even momentarily moving into Eddie's house to look after Christopher). Eddie knew he could always rely on Buck to jump in. And the moment Eddie hit his personal rock bottom, it was Buck who broke down that door - and stayed. He stayed and didn't let this go until Eddie saw that things couldn't go on like this. He actively sought out ways to support Eddie and Christopher (equine therapy), and kept forcing the conversation, because he knew that Eddie wouldn't speak up otherwise.
And this season, we are reminded yet again that Buck and Eddie are that unit for each other. They complement each other, on this very personal, very intimate level. Where one needs a push, the other will push. Where one needs space, the other will give it. And it always goes without saying. It really is something they can take granted from each other. They don't have to ask for help, the other will help. They see each other and understand what needs to be done to offer the support the other one needs.
Like, it's just... it's just so wonderful.

Sorry, it's over...
Summary: you and Eddie lived in two different worlds, you had everything you've ever wanted and more, so when a more fitting guy tries to get with you... Eddie feels it's what's best... (Also poc friendly if I got anything wrong please let me know)
Warnings: fluff/hurt no comfort, Eddie making sex jokes, talks of making out, language, Eddie being sad, reader AND Eddie having doubts (but for different reasons), people being jerks, mention of smoking, reader has hair long enough to put into a ponytail and is described to have curls (those curls can be natural or created with a curling iron is up to you) and use of Y/n like twice
You and Eddie have been going out in secret for some time now, and you couldn't be happier! He made you feel so alive and happy, you felt like giggling and kicking your feet like a little girl when he smiled at you in the hallways.
You always snuck him in when you're parents were away, laying in your bed as you pull him in for a kiss and when you pull away he leans in for more; the cooling feeling of his rings against your face when his hands cup your cheeks, your fingers playing with his dark hair or lightly tugging at his shirt.
You always kissed him before he went to his Dungeons and Dragons campaign, he always leaves with the dopiest smile on his face as he tries to get ready for when the party members arrive.
And his members have noticed he was a little off too, he had been generous and forgiving for a while now; the group rarely gets close to death anymore because of his mood. Even his moments and voice sound more cheery and pumped up than scary or mysterious.
But when he is asked about it, he just says he has been smoking a bit more weed than he normally does, the group all just take that as Eddie did get more cheery and laid back when he smoked some weed.
But he actually hasn't been smoking weed that much anymore, he has been hanging out with you and the only time he smokes is when you and he are in his trailer together cuddling.
You both felt so in love, so happy, and so content with how your lives were connected together, even if you had to keep it a secret.
You were a Cheerleader with high expectations of you thanks to your parents and he was...well Eddie the freak Munson... But you both were ok with this. You loved each other, that was all that mattered... Until...
You walked down the hallway from your last class to your locker to finally put your stuff away now that the day was over, you just wanted to finish so you and Eddie could sneak behind the school for a much-needed make-out session.
But when you turned to your locker a boy was there... And it wasn't your Eddie... He was nothing like Eddie actually. He had neatly done short blonde hair, bright greenish-blue eyes, no tattoos, caramel skin, a nicely pressed and well-fitting button-down, light blue pants with a brown belt, and black shiny shoes.
"Hello, I'm Logan." He said as he held his hand out for you to take, you take it expecting a handshake while telling him your name, he kisses you're hand and says "I know." He smiles at you trying to be charming but coming off creepy to you.
'He knows my name? That's creepy... I have no idea who this guy even is...' You thought as you force a smile pulling your hand away.
"Yeah. Well, it was nice to meet you but I uhh- I promised to meet my best friend Chrissy later today to go over some cheers for the next game." You say as you open your locker and shove everything inside, he looks skeptical but doesn't push on the matter.
You don't bother saying goodbye as you rush away to meet Eddie at the back of the school...
"Hey, baby!" Eddie calls out to you as you arrived at your and Eddie's special spot, you rush to him hugging him with a kiss; you lean back with a "Muah!!" Making him chuckle as he leans in to take in your sent.
You both sit at this single table across from each other talking about your day, Eddie telling you the plan he had in mind for the next Dungeons and Dragons session; you even out in some of your own ideas that he would put his own Eddie twist to it for his master plan.
You play with the rings on his fingers as you listen to him rant on and on about this game, and when you absentmindedly tell him you would love to play sometime his eyes light up, and he tells you all about how you can come over and plan your character out together and he starts listing some of the types and races he could picture you as, and you just sat there listening and watching him geek out. Yup, you want to be like this forever.
If only...
When you got home, your mother was rushing over practically pushing you up the stairs to your bedroom, "where were you?! You are late! now, I laid out an outfit for you ok? Put it on and put 'this'- she motions to your hair picking up a curl before dropping it- up into a ponytail and get down here as soon as you can. Ok? Ok."
You were confused, you didn't remember anything important happening today that you needed to be home as soon as possible, dressed nice, and at the dinner table. What was going on?
As you finished getting ready and headed down the stairs to the dining room, you heard your father opening the door and greeting someone hartley before ushering the person and the two other guests in, if the number of steps being heard had anything to say it was that more than two people were entering the house.
As you sat in your chair and your mother rushed to place the final dishes on the table, your father walked in with three people; a man a woman you assumed was his wife, and... That boy from school? Logan, it was if you remembered correctly.
Your mother greeted everyone before looking at you with an expectant look, "oh... Umm, hello. Everyone?" You say unsure, still confused as to why Logan and assuming his family was in your home for dinner. Did your family know them? Were you all related somehow? You doubted it. But it was the only idea you could come up with at that moment.
But it was far worse...
Halfway through the dinner, your father announced that you were going to marry this Logan guy because he and Logan's father goes way back and think joining the families would be good for business.
You slightly choked on your juice as your father said this, you look to your mother who looks at you for a moment before looking back to her food as if that didn't just happen.
You look to Logan only to see how he looked... Smug... He was happy? About this? Why was he ok with this?! You didn't want this! But from the look, your father gave you it looked like you didn't really have a choice.
After that dinner, you and Logan were 'dating' as he and your family liked to say, but you weren't Logan's girl... You were Eddie's girl!
...well, not that anyone would really know that due to it being a secret. But that didn't change the fact you loved Eddie and weren't giving him up.
You were so upset you had become irritable, and the smallest things started to bug you; what was pissing you off the most was when Logan would try to do couply things with you, you didn't do those kinds of stuff with him! You only did that stuff with Eddie damn it! Why wasn't this guy getting the hint you didn't want to be with him?!
Poor Eddie didn't understand what had gotten you so angry this week, he tried everything to try and figure it out. And for the first time you had... Yelled at him. He genuinely was scared even though he was bigger than you, he noticeably flinched.
It made your heartbreak, you apologized to him saying that you were just stressed but just weren't in the mood to walk about it at the moment. He let it go at first, saying when you were ready to talk so was he.
But then he started seeing this Guy keep showing up at your locker and talking with you in the hallways and he started getting antsy... Did you know this guy? Who was he? Did you think he was a cool guy?
But Eddie kept telling himself everything was fine and it was just some guy thinking he had a shit when he didn't... At least that's what he thought at first. But the more he saw the guy, the more the guy was around you talking and even giving you gifts... Expensive ones... He knew something was very very wrong...
And one day that thought came to be true...
Eddie sat in an empty classroom writing down some ideas for the next session with his party and he couldn't wait to share them with you... But then someone got his attention.
"Hey there." A voice called, Eddie looked up eyebrow raised "do I know you?" He asked in a sour tone slightly noticeable in his voice.
"Well you don't know me exactly, but I know that you see me with Y/n in the hallways," Logan said with a teasing tone in his voice... He was taunting him.
Eddie was ready to punch this guy in the jaw when he was interrupted by Logan saying "I know about your little secret relationship..."
Eddie looked shocked for a moment, how? You and Eddie don't talk at all in school to be sure no one suspected anything! How did?
"I saw you behind the school, and look. There's no nice way to put this so I'll just say it ok? Y/n and I are getting married."
And Eddie felt his heart drop into a pit in his stomach, Married? You? And this guy? His princess was going to marry this prick?!
"Look I can tell you are both shocked and angry and I would be too if I were the one losing such a pretty thing. However, we both know that's what's best right?" Logan continued looking down at where Eddie still sat looking up at Logan.
"What do you mean?" Eddie asked not fully following this guy's thought process as he was still in shock at the who you marrying someone that isn't him...
"Well, you see you are... Well, you! you're the freak of Hawkings High! You can't support her, if anything you would ruin her! You can't take care of and provide for her as I can." Eddie was barely grasping what Logan was saying but he knew that Logan was right. He couldn't give you the life you deserve.
Who was he kidding? to think someone like you would be with someone like him forever? He was hanging on to a wish that would never happen... He was just... A phase. You like him now but once you're over the whole bad boy phase you'll move on.
"I... I guess... You're right."
Logan smiled in fake pity, resting a hand on Eddie's shoulder.
"I know I am... You know what to do. If you really love her, you'll just let her go." And with that Logan walked away... And Eddie had something to tell you...
Your parents were away and you didn't have to worry about Logan sneaking up on you here trying to be all cute with you, and you felt so much better! You had called Eddie telling him he could come over and you really wanted to talk with him, and he told you he had something big to tell you, so at first you were excited as to what it could've been, but when Eddie showed up and he looked upset and like he was ready to break down you had quickly invited him in.
He sat on your bed and looked over to you, and told you the big news.
"I don't think we should see each other liken this anymore..."
And at the moment your world shattered around you, what was he saying? why was he saying that? What happened? Did he find someone he liked better? Was she more like him? Did she make him feel more loved than you did? Please don't be saying what you think he's saying...
"What? No! I mean we don't have to keep quiet about us anymore if that's what this is about I-"
He stood from your bed before looking to you taking a deep breath,
"No! I mean... Look at us! This was never going to last were just too different!"
"What... What are you saying?"
He huffed running a hand through his hair before gesturing to your mirror,
"I mean look at you and then look at me, you deserve everything... And I'm... Me, The freak..."
You walk over to him and he backs away before you can get too close,
"Look... I hate to have this happen the way this has to happen... But I think I owe it to you... To set you free... You would be better off without me..." He tries to walk away out of the room but you manage to get in front of him,
"Do back away from me, What's gotten into you? This isn't the Eddie I know. What happened? What did I do to make you do this? Did someone say something to you? I don't care about what anyone has to say and neither should you! Please, Eddie!"
He just shakes his head...
"I'm sorry, it's over..."
"Eddie please this can't be-"
"You and I? Don't belong it's wrong! We aren't perfect after all like we thought."
He tries to leave again but you take his arm,
"Eddie, you and I were meant to be! I know it! Please!"
" ... I'm really sorry, but we're done." He slips past you, you make a last attempt to take his hand but miss as he rushes out the room shutting the door.
You stand there for a moment, the situation finally setting in before You fall to the floor on your knees sobbing.
A few days later and you were still miserable, you even missed some school telling your parents how you felt awfully sick and felt like you wanted to throw up, which wasn't exactly a lie as you did feel that way, but not because you were sick.
But today you were forced to go to school, you looked like you but... Your curls were a mess in your normally neat braid, your skirt and shirt had wrinkles, and your eyes and nose were red and puffy. And ever so often when something would remind you of Eddie your lip would tremble...
You didn't want to go straight home, you didn't feel like walking right now... You thought that you could visit you and Eddie's special place one last time walking behind the school.
But you stopped when you heard voices, and they both sounded very familiar... It was Eddie... And Chrissy...
Looking from behind a tree you spotted them, They were sitting across from each other and she was in your spot where you would've normally sat, smiling and giggling having a conversation with Eddie.
You... You didn't know they knew each other...
Your brows furrowed when Chrissy said something and Eddie pushed his hands to his heart falling out of his seat, getting up and brushing leaves from his hair as Chrissy laughed, they talked more as Eddie made jokes and motions making Chrissy giggle and shake her head... And the way Eddie was looking at her... It made your heart hurt, shattering into even more and tinier pieces...
You felt sick, you ran home. Your lungs burned and your eyes watered, how could Chrissy do this? How could Eddie do this?! Was this why he broke up with you? He was seeing Chirssy?
You pushed your way inside your home before falling and letting out a painful cry, why was the world doing this to you? What did you do to deserve this?
After crying yourself to sleep you woke up to the phone in your room ringing loudly, you grogally stood as you held the phone to your ear,
"Hello?"
And what you heard next shocked you, Eddie?
"Chrissy was found dead. And it was in Eddie's trailer, he is the number one suspect."
Your Eddie?

Is it me or does it feel like Buck and Eddie were each other's first best friend? Like they've had casual and childhood friends but it feels different with them. They are so devoted and open with each other that it makes them unable to be soft and vulnerable with other people even though they try to. And like the instant they met, they knew their trust would be well placed.
This makes me wonder if they're aware, even partially, that they're friendship is certainly deeper than most, and that there is a possibility for them to become more somewhere down the line.
Dayna, it’s so good to hear from you, lovely! :D *HUGS*
Oh, I full on believe that they’re each other’s first best friend. I think it’s completely supported by everything we know about their history in canon.
For Buck, we see him in ep 405 at the age of 20, a football star, and yet who does he go to when he’s in need? His sister. When he wants to leave, who does he want with him? His sister. Not for a second do we see him being sad about leaving anyone else behind, or feeling like there’s a best friend he has to at least say goodbye to. Then after he leaves, we see him bouncing around between places, never mentioning any significant friend to Maddie in his postcards. Nor do we see anyone like that featured in any of the flashbacks to the key moments of his journey. The one other person we see is some guy who's ready to ditch Buck for a hookup, and who’s only featured in this trip down memory lane because he unintentionally put Buck on the right path to find the 118, his first real family outside of Maddie. But does Buck have a best friend there? In s1, we don’t really see that. He has a dad figure in Bobby, a great friendship with Hen and Chim, but best friend? No. We never see him choosing to hang out outside of work with any of them one on one, just to hang out and fill each other on stuff. Not like we see Hen with Athena, or Chim and Bobby during that season, or Hen and Chim in later seasons. Edmundo Diaz, Buck’s first ever best friend, confirmed.
In 315, we don’t get to see Eddie before Christopher’s birth, but we still can deduce a few things. We know that he’s becoming a father, but no best friend is in sight at the hospital, nor is one even mentioned. Since Eddie at that point still lives where he grew up, that would imply he doesn’t have a best friend from high school he still hangs out with. And again, one isn’t mentioned either, not even when Eddie decides to leave. We also don’t see Eddie, while he’s serving, talking to a best friend about his issues in his home life, not in a phone call to a friend in the States, and not to another soldier in his unit. We know from his interview in 206 that he did enjoy the camaraderie he had in the army, but it seems like that didn’t develop into having an actual best friend at any point. We don’t see one from the army when Eddie is lying there, injured, after he saved the other soldiers from the helicopter, and we also don’t see a best friend when he returns home. Again, not even a mention of one. Evan Buckley, Eddie’s first ever best friend, also confirmed.
So yes, I have no doubt that a part of the reason they’re so oblivious isn’t just that they’re morons, it’s also that they sincerely don’t get how special what they have is. They cared about and trusted each other almost immediately, which is a profound kind of connection. Then they form this beautiful friendship where they’re there for each other right away, and it’s especially lovely since neither one of them has any experience with being another person’s best friend. But you can see how naturally they fit into that role for each other. But then they become fully partners, they share with each other everything, including a kid! They do that in a way none of the other good friends on the show do. Think of Athena going through her divorce from Michael in s1 and becoming a single mom. Hen’s there for her, but at no point does she become May and Harry’s other parent, or Athena’s partner in raising them, unlike what Buck becomes to Chris and Eddie. They’re fully a family. And they don’t even realize that their bond is so much more intense than a normal friendship. I just love them and I can’t wait for them to realize what they have isn’t simply friendship, and what more they can have as official boyfriends...
Thank you for this ask, I adored it! I hope you’re having a great day, hon! xoxox
(If you're looking for my ask replies, here is my ask tag! xoxox)

hi tillman 🫵 i was wondering what ur thoughts on sol and eddie’s dynamic
In canon and not my beautiful dream world in which eddie is friends with everyone and talks about their feelings together out of a desperate need to put themes into words I think they would be in that like nightmare awkward space of Understanding but unable to cope with each other. Eddie has some sort of respect for him for a few reasons namely his connection to dizzy and his ability to Hide his status of gear from the rest of the world. I dont think sol would possibly give enough of a shit about eddie to like Care about him beyond “dizzy knows him. Hes attached to a guy I want to kill.” But I think out of like some sort of sympathy of Someone Hurt by gear cells hed begrudgingly give him distance.
I think they have similar ideas on the whole being weapons for the sake of someone else thing but go about it in very different ways. They both kind of seem to give into their role very easily and embody “if im a monster im a Monster. I have no time for humanity” while both seeming to crave genuine connection and for someone to see them as human which is funny. I can see them getting along specifically if dizzy acted as a buffer to the whole. Them both having genuine physical urges from their dna to kill the other. Honestly I think the best result of their dynamic is a sort of Distant Respect. I wont hurt you because it would hurt someone who slipped through my facade of A Bad Guy. Kind of thrown out the window when zato is involved cus sol seems to genuinely despise him (rightfully) but I dunno. I think they have very similar ideas about their forced situations but kind of end up being water and oil when actually facing each other. Doesnt help their first meetings were when eddie was so desperate for a new host he just tried to kill anyone so sols idgaf attitude has already stuck… but this is my beautiful world…
In my beautiful world dizzy introduces them through a door and they get beers and bemoan life together every so often. Perhaps kick the shit out of each other for catharsis (whatever fuck it give in to your brain telling you to tear the other guy to shreds- youre both kinda immortal weapons. It probably feels pretty good.) the natural eddie jealousy of how come u as a weapon get a family. And sol badguy kicking his ribs to pieces going idfk go make one. All that shit. Not that eddie has ribs but its the thought that counts. Maybe theyre zatos. Idk.

Patterns are an important part of life, critical to problem solving. They tell us when it’s time to sleep and they help us recognize when we might be getting sick.
It begins in preschool. Students sorting blocks in red, blue, red, blue order. Then in kindergarten they learn that our calendar system is full of patterns. Students begin to track how the days of the week repeat in a 7-day cycle, within the same time that the months repeat, and alongside still with the changing of the seasons. First and second graders learn to look for patterns between stories that are similar. They use patterns to solve unfamiliar math problems by thinking about what worked the last time they were faced with a challenge.
You teach your students to look for patterns and similarities between things, helping them learn the importance of making connections. You know it to be a skill crucial for their development. The ability to take in new information and apply it to what you already know and understand, even as an adult, is something you use on a daily basis.
February was over and March had begun, an indication in the pattern that spring was almost here again. The yearly cycle continues yet another round in its endless repetition.
You’ve started to notice a pattern.
Eddie loved coming into your classroom with you. Ever since October when he performed the song he wrote for you on career day. From that day on, the pattern developed. Days that he’d come in and what would follow later that night at home.
Yes, you’ve definitely noticed a pattern.
On the days Eddie would volunteer in your classroom, specifically where there was a discipline issue, your usual nightly adventures got turned up a notch. Sometimes the pattern included trying something new, other times it featured old favorites with an added level of intensity. Either way the repetitions could be simplified to this– whenever Eddie came to help you out at work, if the kids were bad, you had crazy sex later that night at home.
Not that you were complaining! Let’s be clear this particular pattern is far from a problem. Yet still. Your natural curiosity had you asking the question why? Why did the pattern come into being? What were you missing? The most likely explanation that your incessantly logical brain could come up with was that after seeing the struggles you dealt with, he wanted to help you relax. Of course. You told him the first night you met that being the boss all day sucked. He knew part of the reason you liked being a submissive was being put in sub space and that the best time for him to give you that was after a hard day. I’m just overthinking again. All of this crossed your mind as you readied for another weekend at Eddie’s.
Spring break was just two weeks away, bringing along with it, your one year anniversary with Eddie. A big step in any relationship. You had been toying with the idea of how you’d respond if he ever asked you to move in with him, you basically lived at his place anyways. Your apartment was slowly turning into a place you only saw for a few hours at a time to grab some clothes or tend to Ozzy. Despite the undeniable chemistry you and Eddie have had since day one, taking that big step was still a little scary. For now the weekend with him would be enough. You grabbed your bags and headed out.
Eddie was smoking on the porch when you pulled up. He flashed you a big smile when he saw you, “Hey sweetheart, how was your day?”
“It wasn’t bad, the kids asked if you were sick since you weren’t there today,” you both laughed, “I told them no Mr. Eddie played a show last night and he was tired.”
He offered you a drag from his cigarette. You relished in the taste of his lips along with the smokeyness. He pulled it back and took another one himself before responding, “Yeah Mr. Eddie had a little too much to drink last night. I wouldn’t have been much help today sweetheart.”
You took a seat next to him on the bench and leaned your head onto his shoulder, “It’s ok sir. I’m here now, I’ll take care of you. Other than your hangover, how was the show?” He told you the epic tale of how he stopped the show mid-song because he noticed some guy at the bar refusing to take no for an answer. Your face lit up hearing the heroic word of how he almost fell off stage while telling the guy to get lost.
“Afterwards a bunch of people wanted to buy me a drink and who am I to refuse free beer?”
You laughed, “You’re a good man Eddie. I brought some stuff to make dinner. That’ll help you feel better.” You booped his nose with your finger as you teased him, “You know I keep telling you, you can’t survive on a diet of beer, cereal, and Spaghettios.”
He scoffed with a laugh, “I’ve survived this long haven’t I?”
“Yeah and it's a wonder you haven’t died yet. This isn’t up for debate sir. You’re eating a proper meal tonight.”
He flicked the cigarette butt into a small trash can, “Yes princess.”
Another pattern.
Eddie loved pet names and you equally loved when he called you them, however you’ve noticed that he always saves this particular one for certain times. You choose not to dwell on it any longer as you head in to cook for him.
He goes to grab his guitar and entertains you with songs as you work in the kitchen. Eventually he stops making conversation because his attention has been tunneled into the task at hand. You smile to yourself as you steal a couple glances, seeing that at some point he tied his hair back because it was probably falling in his eyes. Your mind became consumed with hearing him practice the same part of a song over and over again. It provided the perfect background noise allowing you to become focused on your own task of seasoning chicken and chopping vegetables. As you worked, you couldn’t help but feel like a barmaid in a fantasy tavern, being serenaded by the local handsome bard.
“Dinner’s done Eddie,” you called for him as you got him a plate of food and set the small table.
He put his guitar back on its stand and wrapped his arms around you upon entering the kitchen, “You are absolute perfection sweetheart. Seriously, I don’t know what I did in a past life to deserve you but goddamn– I love you so fucking much!”
Your cheeks warmed and your heart fluttered as he kissed your neck, “I love you too Eddie.”
“Mmm shit, this is delicious! Thank you sweetheart but, you didn’t have to do this you know,” despite his words, he ate like he hadn’t eaten all day. Which he probably hadn’t unless you count painkillers and Gatorade for the hangover, which you don’t.
“I know I didn’t have to. I did it because I wanted to.”
“I’ll make it up to you by coming in to help out on Monday.”
“Oh,” you suddenly remembered your train of thought from earlier, “Eddie can I ask you something. It might seem weird but I made an observation.”
“Ever vigilant, my pretty girl. Of course, what’s up?”
You took another bite of your dinner, “Have you noticed that if the kids are bad on the days you’re helping me, we always have wild sex that night?”
He stopped mid bite. The roasted potato he’d been about to eat was still stuck on the prongs of his fork. His eyes went wide and all the color drained from his face. Instead of shrugging and saying something to the effect of No I haven’t, hm that’s interesting or nodding and affirming your statement with something like Every time we have sex it's a wild time sweetheart. No. As soon you finish speaking, he freezes.
“O-oh, umm, I guess. I mean, yeah,” all of sudden there's a rushed nervousness to his voice. He looked away. The food on his plate just became the most interesting thing in the room.
You tried adding a few supporting details in an attempt to put him at ease, “Yeah, that time you handcuffed me to the bed and edged me for nearly an hour? That was the day I yelled at the whole class and took away recess. Or that pet play session where you used the chain from your handcuffs as a leash and l wasn’t allowed to talk? I’m pretty sure that was the day I had to deal with Tanner hitting people. Oh! And that day Jackson threw the stool? That was the night you overstimulated me so much, I came at least a dozen times.” You tried to lighten the mood with a laugh, ”Ha, it’s almost like when I get bossy, you get horny,”
But this didn’t help. In fact, it was arguably worse. He became even more quiet. You were starting to worry, “Eddie? Are you ok?”
“Huh? Yeah I’m fine,” he tried to brush it off but you weren’t buying it.
“Are you sure? You were fine and then when I brought that up, you got quiet.”
He continued to try to reassure you, “I’m fine sweetheart.” Now he went with the response you thought you’d get initially, “No I hadn’t noticed that. I guess spending all day with you just gets me all worked up.”
“Yeah I guess,” you decided not to push the issue anymore for now, but this conversation wasn’t over.
You finished eating, talking about how spring break was coming up soon and how he’d booked a few shows that week. When you were both done, he stood with his plate and went to grab yours, “Are you finished sweetheart?”
“Yes sir, thank you.”
He popped in a movie after and as much as you tried to pay attention you couldn’t stop replaying the weird conversation from dinner. His arm was wrapped around your shoulders, you were cuddled up close to him with your legs curled underneath you on the couch. A big blanket covered both of your laps. He couldn’t see your face which right now was probably a good thing because your expression was twisted with confusion as you still ached for the source of his nervousness. Even though you were comfortable in your spot next to him, he felt stiffer than usual, like he wasn’t allowing himself to fully relax. Finally when the movie was almost over you couldn’t take it anymore.
“Eddie, are you sure you’re ok? You’ve been acting really weird since dinner.”
He let out a sigh, “I’m fine sweetheart. Can we please just finish the movie?”
“But if something was wrong, you know you could tell me right?”
“Nothing’s wrong. I just want to watch a movie with you,” he was starting to get annoyed. It wasn’t hard to miss in his voice. All the more evident that something was upsetting him, although now you weren’t sure if it really was about earlier or if you were annoying him with your insistence on the matter.
He tried to change the subject but you weren’t having it, “Eddie I’m worried. You got really nervous and quiet when I said I noticed we–”
“It’s nothing!” he snapped and cut you off. “Just let it go already,” He was officially upset.
“I can tell something is upsetting you and I can’t help if I don’t know what’s wrong. Now tell me what’s bothering you,” you hadn’t meant for your words to sound as condescending as they ended up coming out. By this time you had sat up and pulled away slightly, eyes still glued to him. The end of the movie was playing in the background as this uncomfortable silence lingered.
“Don’t do that. Don’t talk to me like I’m a damn kid! Just forget it. It’s not important.”
His volume was low but that statement was laced with anger. Your heart is aching beneath your chest. You and Eddie have never had a fight before and here you are in the midst of your first one having started over some stupid insignificant pattern you thought you’d noticed, “I’m sorry Eddie, I wasn’t trying to make you feel like that.” Your shoulders fall and droop, “I just want to help. You were clearly upset when I brought it up and I’m just trying to understand why. You keep saying it , so whatever it is must be important!” Your own volume was rising higher and higher with every word, fueled more so by his insistence to just forget.
He muttered to himself, “Christ, I can't do this again.” Then he yelled, “Forget about it!”
Now there was no doubt, whatever he was avoiding was obviously something important that shouldn’t be cast aside. You yelled back, “No! Our whole relationship is built on communication and trust. Don’t shut me out like this. I’ve been more open with you than I’ve ever been with anyone! You know the darkest parts of who I am and I deserve the same from you. Talk. To. Me!”
He stayed silent for a moment. You watched the anger and frustrations build in his expression. Yet there was an undeniable pain behind his words as he yelled again, pleading with you, ”Why won’t you just believe me? It’s not anything you need to worry or care about! I can deal with it on my own. Will you please drop it already!”
You throw the blanket to the floor and jump up to your feet, mustering every ounce of confidence, every crumb of authority you can find as you yell right back at him, “Edward Munson, you tell me what’s bothering you right this minute!”
Silence. He just stares at you and you feel the familiar building pressure behind your eyes as the first tears edge their way along your waterline, growing, but not yet spilling over the edge.
For a moment there’s nothing but the sound of both your breathing since the movie had ended. You look into his warm brown, button eyes and search for any sign that might help you understand what could have caused this. Your line of sight drops to the prominent bulge growing in his pants. Sudden movement from the corner of your eye draws your attention as he fumbles to regain control of the blanket and throws it haphazardly over his lap to hide it. Your brows furrow with confusion.
“Eddie?” your voice was soft. You slowly moved to sit back down, trying not to startle him.
An emotion flashes across every surface in his face. His eyes shift. His tongue and teeth all but consume his bottom lip. The muscles in his cheeks twitch. You know that emotion all too well. Panic. Eddie starts to panic, “Listen. I, it’s not, I just–”
He continues spewing rushed bits and pieces of sentences. You put your hands on his shoulders trying to ground him, “Eddie! Eddie, calm down,” He lets you pull him into a hug, “Please Eddie, talk to me. I love you! Whatever it is, you can tell me,” You kept talking quietly, “I’m so sorry I pushed you, I didn’t mean to snap like that. Sometimes I just get so wrapped up in trying to fix everything around me, that I forget about the feelings of the people I care about. If you really don’t want to talk about it I won’t bring it up anymore, I promise.”
He’s quiet. You keep holding him anyways. You hold him tightly without pulling away. No, you will definitely not be the first one to break this embrace. You would hold him all night if he needed it. You try to regulate your own breathing in hopes it helps him too.
He finally whispers. Barely a squeak, but it’s enough for you to hear him, “It’s your voice.”
“My voice?” You try to pull back from the hug just enough to look at him but he keeps holding on tightly.
“Your teacher voice,” he elaborates, still refusing to look at you, “When you use that goddamn bossy teacher voice I just, I lose it.”
You were trying to follow, “Like the voice I use…” it finally clicks, “When I’m discipling.”
All he gives you is a nod.
“Why didn’t you just tell me?” You try to sound positive, “Maybe I could try to work that tone in more when I’m being a brat. If it turns you on, I can try to sound like I’m telling you what to do, act like I know better than you sir,” this gets a soft chuckle from him. You smile, happy that things finally seem to be moving in the right direction.
“You already think you know better,” he quips back. He lifts up from your arms and collapses back into the couch with a deep, heavy, heart wrenching sigh, “I guess there's no point in trying to deny it now.” He still won’t look at you as he speaks, instead he stares up at the ceiling, “It’s more than just the tone sweetheart. Your authoritative side really fucking turns me on. Ever since I heard you tell those little goblins to quiet down that day back in the fall, I can’t stop thinking about how,” he choked out the next part as though his very life depended on withholding this information, “How it would feel to have you talk to me like that.”
Oh. This was the missing variable. You considered his words and you knew you needed to respond. He had just admitted something really personal to you and here you were just silent.
“Thank you for telling me Eddie, is it ok if I ask a question?”
He closes his eyes, firmly pressing his eyelids down causing the whole of his forehead to scrunch up, “Yeah go ahead.”
“You said you can’t do this again, what exactly did that mean?”
“You remember when you asked about how things ended with my last sub?”
You nod even though his eyes are still closed, “Yes, I remember.”
He let out a loud groan. The weight physically pressing him down into the old couch. He sank lower and raised his arms to cover his eyes, further shielding himself from you, “Well I didn’t exactly tell you the whole truth. I tried to have this same conversation with her and she ended up walking out on me that night.”
You felt the muscles in your chest tightening as you pictured him trying to open up to someone who he should have been able to trust, only to immediately be shut down, “Eddie I’m not her! I’m not going anywhere.”
“Yes you will!” He snaps! Finally looking at you as he shot back up, “I know you will, because,” that last strand of restraint he had finally gave out, “Because it’s fucking weird alright? I’m the guy! I’m supposed to be in charge. I mean look at me? Guys aren’t supposed to want to get on their knees and be told what to do!” His mouth is a broken dam once he starts. The words just keep pouring from his lips with unstoppable force, “Men are supposed to be the strong ones, I shouldn’t be having fantasies about being overpowered or having my girlfriend stuff her dirty underwear in my mouth just to shut me up!” His ring clad fingers are spread wide against the black denim of his jeans, you can see the skin beneath pulling as he grips into his own flesh with all his might.
He tries to calm himself down before continuing. The flow of words slows a bit but his voice fills with anguish and fear, “I know you’ll leave because when we met this isn’t at all what you signed up for at all. I’m supposed to be the dominant one, you’re in charge every day at work and I know you need that break.”
“Eddie,” you fell to your knees. Invading his space by pushing yourself against his legs and grabbing both his hands in your own, “I don’t know where you got those ideas but they’re wrong! Wanting those things doesn’t mean you aren’t a real man.” You scoot closer and fight back the tears continuing to build up as you keep going.
“I meant it when I said I love you. You’re so much more to me than just my dom. You’re my favorite person to be around. You listen when I complain, you go out of your way to try and make my day easier or brighter! You make me smile whenever I’m around you. I’ve laughed more this last year than I have in my entire life! I don’t think you’re weird at all— Do you think I’m weird for wanting to be smacked around, spit on, and told I’m a worthless whore?”
“No!” He shouts, possibly louder than intended, but you smile up at him, “Of course not! You’re a perfect angel and me…well I’m just a freak.”
“Who,” You can tell the answer before you even finish just by the downcast shift in his eyes, “Who told you that?”
Eddie watched her getting changed from the night’s session. She took off the lingerie they’d picked out together and replaced it with a pair of soft gray sweats and an old t-shirt. They had just finished a pretty intense round of impact play where Eddie used a riding crop on her for the first time.
He was feeling really down. The thought that he had somehow hurt her, even though she never used the safeword, wouldn’t leave his head. He thought about the yelps and screams she’d been making and he couldn’t get past the thought that maybe she didn’t want it that hard.
“Hey,” his voice was that of a nervous child coming to tell their parents they’d wet the bed, “I know it’s not your favorite but can I just hold you for a few minutes? I feel really bad right now.”
She gave him half a smile, along with a partial roll of the eyes, “Yeah, I guess so.” There was still an element of sweetest to her voice even though she lacked enthusiasm.
Aftercare was Eddie’s favorite part of a session. Exploring kinks with a trusted partner always brings out a lot of big emotions and getting to decompress afterwards and take care of one another is such an intimate experience. His submissive though? She thought it unnecessary.
“Thank you sweetheart,” he wraps his arms around her while she gets comfortable lying next to him, “I didn’t hurt you did I?”
She let out a sigh, “No Eddie, I keep telling you this. I’ll use a safeword if I need to.”
“I trust you to use them, it's just,” he hesitates, “Sometimes I feel bad, you know? I'm still hitting you. Even if you asked for it and we discussed the scene beforehand, I’m still hurting you. On purpose. Sometimes it’s just a little overwhelming.”
She stiffened in his arms, “I’m the one getting hit and I don’t need aftercare.”
“I know you’re strong sweetheart, but still, I wish you’d let me take care of you more.”
“What do you mean Eddie?”
He sat up in the bed and gave her the space he knew she needed, “I don’t know , I guess I just wish sometimes you’d let me pamper you. I don’t have to be all mean and dominant all the time.”
She raised a brow at him, “What other kind of dom is there?”
He frowned, “There’s a lot of different kinds of doms and—“ there was another thought on the tip of his tongue. One which he hesitated to let go. Something he’d only ever fantasized about. But they’d been doing sessions together for over a year now so maybe, “Maybe sometimes I don’t want to be in charge. Maybe sometimes I just want to take care of you, I want to do what you tell me to, and treat you like a princess.”
“Soo,” she dragged out that final sound as she considered his words, “You wanna be a bottom?”
He hurried to clarify, “No, no, not exactly. I don’t want you to peg me or anything like that-“ she interrupted him.
“Peg you? Eddie, what are you even saying right now?” She pulled further away from him, so much so that she was now on the edge of the bed.
He panicked, “No no! I would still fuck you, I just,” his heart was pounding. This wasn’t going well at all but he was too far gone to back out now, “Sometimes I want to ask for your permission. Maybe have you say no, so I have to work for it.”
Her face went white. She was quiet for a moment, but it didn’t take long for her to make her next move. She stood up, “I have to go.”
His stomach dropped, “What why? I’m sorry! Forget I said anything. We can just forget this ever happened!”
“I can’t Eddie!” she grabbed her bag and swung it over her shoulder. One hand on the doorknob, “I can’t forget what you just told me.”
He tried to reach out for her and she smacked his hand. The look of complete disgust on her face sent cracks splintering through his heart. Her words hurt even more, “You probably liked that. I’m leaving Eddie. Consider our arrangement over.”
“Wait!” he pleaded with her, “I’m still the same person!”
He tried again to grab her hand but she shoved him away, “Don’t touch me you freak!” She slammed the door behind her as she disappeared.
“Where is she?” Every muscle in your body fights the urge to get up and leave to find this girl, “You said she’s dating that basketball loser right? I swear I just wanna talk. Where is she?”
His smile returns for a moment as he touches the side of your head. You lean into his touch, nuzzling against his fingers and palm. You twist your neck and plant a kiss on his wrist. His soft eyes look so vulnerable as they gaze down upon you from where you’re still on your knees, “Thank you for listening sweetheart. It really does feel good to get that off my chest.”
Your head comes to rest against his knee, “I’m sorry again if I pushed you Eddie. This was something you should have told me when you were ready and I didn’t respect that.”
He took in a renewed breath and kept stroking your hair, “No, I needed it. Probably would have just let it consume me for the rest of eternity if you didn’t. Just so you know,” he hesitates but you just sit patiently and wait for him to continue, “I don’t expect anything from you. This doesn’t change anything. I’m still your big bad dom, for as long as you’ll have me.”
“Nothing will ever change how I feel about you Eddie. But,” Your mouth sucks up your bottom lip in between your teeth. You crawl up his legs from the floor and into his lap, “What if I said I wasn’t opposed to the idea of trying?”
He held your hands as you moved them up and down the soft fabric of the shirt covering his chest, “You don’t have to do that for me sweetheart. Just knowing that you aren’t gonna leave me is enough.”
You frowned, “Have you not been listening? Like I said before. I didn’t cook you that meal from the official Dungeons and Dragons cookbook because I had to . I did it because I wanted to. Eddie,” you held his face in your hands, “I don’t think you realize how important you are to me. I love you. Granted— I’m not saying I’ll be good at it and the idea of being called ma’am, madam, or mistress kinda makes me cringe, but still! I’d like to try.”
He stayed silent as his hands moved effortlessly to rest lightly on your hips. His thumbs massaging firmly up and down. Something in you stirred. You grinned, “Maybe I should just tell you that we’re gonna try it, right? Would that work?”
He looks at you with eyes blown wide, you watch the wheels turning in his head. You wonder if he’s still trying to convince himself that this isn’t some cruel joke, “Y-yeah maybe.”
A big part of your job involves being flexible, changing things at a moment’s notice because it isn’t working or rearranging your schedule because you have to switch art classes with another teacher. This is just the ultimate test of flexibility.
Your mind races. Quickened by the excited pulse pumping through you at the prospect of this uncharted territory, “Of course, we’d have to have another adult conversation.” You’re elated to see the return of his smile in full as you both get lost in one another’s eyes. You know he’s probably also thinking about the first night you met. He was so professional from the beginning. You try to mimic his own words back to him, “I need to know what your limits are. Do you already have a safeword?”
He laughed and shook his head, “My love for you is limitless, I’d follow you to the moon and back.” You give him a stern, disapproving look. He laughs again, “Alright alright, you want a serious answer? I don’t really know if I have any limits, I’ve never been able to explore this side of myself before. As for a safe word we can just use marshmallow still.”
You shake your head, “Uh-uh, you need your own. Own this side of yourself Eddie. I can’t imagine hiding such an important part of who I am for so long. I’ll never know how lonely that must have been, but what I can do? I can show you that you can trust me. You’ve given me your whole heart and I’ll protect it with everything I have.”
You could swear a single tear forms on the corner of his eye only to quickly vanish with a rapid blink. He thinks for a minute, “Can I have some time to think about it? This is moving really fast. Like five minutes ago I thought I was going to lose you.”
“Oh shit!” you hugged him again, “Damn it, I was trying to fix everything again. I’m sorry Eddie, I just told you you could trust me and here I am being pushy again,” a self-destructive train of thought tore through your mind. What if I’m not good enough? You didn’t even realize you’d let some of it out, “Who am I kidding, I’d be a terrible dom! If I can’t remember to respect your feelings now, how will I do it during a scene?”
He whispered your name and kissed your quivering lips, “Stop being so hard on yourself. The fact that you’re willing to put yourself so far outside of your comfort zone just to try and make me happy is enough. Really, even if you aren’t perfect, I’ll still love you.”
You deepen the kiss, tugging at his neck. You flash him a smile when you pull away, “Thank you Eddie. Of course you can think about it. What do you need from me right now?”
“Just let me hold you.”
“Forever!”
You adjust positions a few times but never once completely stop touching him. The longest you go without being pressed against one another is when you hold his hand while getting up to get put in another movie. Even though he’s wrong and Return of the King is actually the best, you opt for his favorite, The Fellowship of the Ring. You settle back into a normal flow of bratty banter and laughter. You hadn’t brought the topic up again until you were heading to bed.
“She was an idiot you know,” you say, playing with his hair.
He cocks an eyebrow at you with a playful chuckle, “Yeah what makes you say that?”
“How stupid do you have to be to not wanna cuddle with you? I mean have you met yourself? Your arms are strong, your hair is fluffy, and your smell is like a goddamn drug,” you shrug your shoulders, “Oh well. Her loss.”
Eddie’s eyes melt your heart as he kisses your forehead, “I love you.”
“I love you too Eddie.”
The next day you spend as originally planned still not having revisited the topics from that night. You were determined to let Eddie bring it up again this time for himself, without your influence whatsoever. In the meantime, you tried to process what this new information meant for you, Eddie wanted you to be dominant and while you were excited to try, honestly, it was a scary thought. He wasn’t wrong when he said it wasn’t what you signed up for. Yet. For him? Maybe you could learn.
It happened the next weekend. Just as the previous week, you were packing up to spend a few days at his place. You walked into the trailer and he was playing guitar. You had dinner as usual and were talking about plans for a hellfire session tomorrow, until he suddenly switched topics.
“Mordor.”
You look up at him with a curious smile, “Yeah? You just over there thinking about Sam and Frodo?”
“My safeword. I want it to be Mordor.”
Warmth spreads to your cheeks, “Oh, ok. I like it. It suits you,” you nod your head, “I approve.”
He stays focused. His body barely moves, every ounce of his concentration is going towards ensuring he doesn’t chicken out or pass out and fall over, “I also thought about my limits.”
You adjust yourself up straight in your chair and give him your undivided attention, “That’s great! Can I ask what they are?”
“Degradation is a hard limit for me,” he swallows hard, “I’m ok with like, teasing, I guess? I just don’t want to feel…” he struggled to find the words.
You whispered to try and help him, “You don’t want to feel like what you’re doing is wrong or weird?”
“Yeah,” he rubs tension from the back of his neck, “Have you thought about anything you might not be comfortable with?”
“I actually did. Umm, so I don’t think I’m comfortable with using a strap on. I have zero coordination and I wouldn’t want to hurt you or give you a bad experience with something just because I suck at it.”
He smiles, “That’s fine, I still wanna be the one fucking you anyways so let’s just add anal to the hard limits.”
You can’t help but feel relieved, you grab his hand from across the table, “Got it! No degrading comments and no anal.”
“That’s all I could come up with, like I said, never done this before,” he let out a nervous laugh.
“Me either Eddie, it’s ok. We can learn together.”
“Oh, I also thought of what title I’d like to use for you,” he seems to relax a little as you continue listening to him, “You said you didn’t like ma'am, madam, or mistress so— is it ok if I call you princess?”
You can’t stop the little chuckle that escapes your lips, you weren’t trying to laugh at him it’s just, “Eddie you call me princess all the time. Of course it’s ok.”
“I only ask because I’d like to make princess exclusive to scenes. Outside of that I’ll still shower you with all the pet names in the world, but princess would be special. It’ll have the same significance as when you call me sir.”
The implications of what those scenes might look like and the situations in which he’d be calling you princess from now on made your heart flutter and soar, “Princess sounds perfect.”
The next question was weighing heavy on both your minds. After negotiations the night you met, he had stood up, stalked over to you, and proceeded to toss you on his bed like a sack of potatoes. If all the formalities had been taken care of, you knew what should logically follow next. Both of you waited for the other to make the first move. But nothing happened. You had meant what you said when you told him you were open to trying, to helping him see that he wasn’t a freak for wanting to be submissive sometimes. But you didn’t have the slightest fucking clue what you were doing. You tried to remember every scene you’d ever done with him simultaneously in effort to get a clue as to how he started each one.
A low chuckle from the other side of the table brought you out of your daydream, “I can see the steam coming up  from the top of your head like a little teapot. I already told you, we don’t have to do this.”
“Shh!” you cried out, “And I told you I want to! Got it?”
The smile that grew on his face was downright magical. LIke he had been waiting a lifetime to utter these words in a context such as this, “Yes princess.”
The wires connecting your brain short circuited causing you to stutter and cough, “T-that’s better. Now,” Now what smartass? You have no plan! You stood up with such intent that you could at least fake knowing what you were doing, “Go to the bedroom.”
He laughed, “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to tell you this– make me.”
“Y-you, you jerk!” you pouted, “You should be going easy on me!”
He laughed harder and crossed his arms, “Now where’s the fun in that?”
You deflated. Of course he wasn’t going to make this easy, you were the biggest brat on the planet some nights and now it was his turn for revenge. You pondered what your next move should be but that left you vulnerable. He grinned and before you could stop him he scooped you up and cradled you between his arms bridal style.
“Hey! Hey now, put me down!”
He hummed while walking you towards the bedroom, “What? You said go to the bedroom didn't you? I’m just doing what you told me to princess.”
“Yes but, I- I should be carrying you!” You chose to ignore the absurdity of that statement, you knew perfectly well you’d probably make it a few feet before your arms gave out.
“Nonsense!” He patted your ass playfully, drawing out a squeak from your lips before he set you down gently on the mattress, “You, my dear princess, are above such behavior. Walking is for peasants,” you couldn’t help but sit there in awe of him. Tonight was supposed to be about him but he could probably sense that you were struggling. So without even hesitating, he jumped in to help you, you were about to thank him but he held a finger to your lips.
“Shh, no words of gratitude are necessary princess, but, there is something I’d like from you,” he closed the bedroom door. Creating a small bubble with just the two of you, surrounded by your love and trust for one another. He looked into your sparkling eyes and whispered into the dimly lit rom, “Can I kneel for you?”
From its place tucked between your legs, you felt your pussy tighten and constrict, reaching for something that wasn’t there yet. The feeling rose up higher into your stomach, then your chest. Finally escaping through your parted lips when you let out a breath you hadn’t even realized you’d been holding, “Yes Eddie,” you parted your knees, nervous as though this isn’t the hundredth time you’ve spread your legs for him, “Come kneel for me.”
He took off his leather jacket, exposing his tattooed arms to you. The short sleeves of the old Black Sabbath shirt he’d been wearing wrinkled slightly from being pressed down between layers. You felt your eyes raking over every inch of his body, taking in every detail as he walked towards you. He moved carefully with such purpose. When he reached his intended destination he stopped and looked down at you.
Without a word he bent at the knee and lowered himself to rest between your legs. He sat back on his feet where they curled under his weight. His hands settled on the tops of his thighs. He looked up at you expectantly.
You lifted your hand and touched the side of his head, “You look so good right now, I can see the appeal.”
He smiled and looked down at his hands, then back to you, “It’s a pretty good view isn’t it? How do you feel right now?”
Damn it! He was asking all the questions you should be, “I should be asking you that!” A dejected sigh falls from your mouth, “I guess I’m just not very good at this.”
He reached up and held your hand, “Do you think I was perfect the first time? You should have seen me,” he laughed at his own memory, “Let’s just say you’re already doing better than I did.”
“Well then your first time must have been pretty rough because I feel so fucking nervous right now!”
“It was embarrassing, that's for sure. I must have asked her is this ok? about 30 times before we even got naked. I was nervous as shit the whole time,” he squeezed your fingers, “You’re doing great princess.”
You smiled, “How are you feeling right now Eddie?”
“So good princess. I could sit here and stare up at you all night.”
His comment made you giggle because you knew the feeling of having your legs go numb from kneeling on them for too long, “Let’s start with just a few minutes.” You tried to think of your favorite parts about kneeling for him, “Can I try something?”
He nodded but didn’t say anything. You were about to lift your foot and press it into his thigh but stopped, He didn’t answer out loud . You smirked down at him, “Ahem, aren’t you forgetting something? Answer me.”
It was hard to tell if he did that on purpose seeing if you’d notice, but there’s an unmistakable glimmer of joy in his eye, “I’m sorry princess. Yes, what would you like to try?”
“Well since you want to misbehave, maybe I won’t try it now,” the words come to you effortlessly and in that moment you have a realization, I can do this, “I was going to see if you liked being stepped on as much as I do. Ask me nicely and maybe I’ll reconsider.”
Oh shit, the look on his face broke you in the best way possible. You definitely caught him off guard with that one. Watching him slowly unravel like this was making you feel things you never thought you’d feel. His weak voice sure wasn’t helping either.
“Please? Please step on me princess.”
You brought your foot up to his thigh and pressed down. Leaning with your torso you put a little more pressure. You weren’t wearing shoes like he usually does, just socks. You wondered if he’d like it more with boots or maybe a nice pair of heels.
“That feels good princess, d-do you think maybe we could try it with those black shoes you always wear to work?” He sounded so embarrassed but you were loving his honesty. You wanted to praise him.
“Of course, can I umm, can I call you a good boy? Or is that too much?”
Bright red flushed across his cheeks, “So I um, I think we can go ahead and add praise and being stepped on to the green light section.” He rubbed the back of his head with a nervous laugh.
You originally thought the change in dynamic would be difficult, that you’d be too stuck in your submissive mindset to even consider being in charge, but, so far at least— that hasn’t been the case. It just feels like you're taking care of someone important to you. Trying to make him feel comfortable, wanting to take all his nervous feelings and cast them aside. Show him that he can be himself and still be loved.
With your foot still up on his thigh you leaned into his ear, your lips got as close to the skin of his earlobe as possible without actually touching it. You whispered sweetly to him, “Such a good boy for me Eddie. Take my pants off, I want to feel your mouth on me.”
You absolutely ate up the noise he made. He stood and guided your body back further on the bed with his arms. Once you were comfortably laying against the pillows he pulled the fabric of your pants down along your silky smooth legs and tossed them to the floor. You loved the feeling of his hair grazing against your inner thigh as he placed tiny kisses along your panty line.
“Can I take these off too princess?”
You wanted to praise him every chance you got, “So polite. Yes Eddie, take them off.”
He hooked his thumb into the edge and slid them down revealing your dripping wetness. While he moved back to get a better angle you brought your hand up to your pussy and parted your lips with your fingers, “Look Eddie, look at what you do to me. You make me so fucking wet.”
“Fuuuck,” he ripped his shirt off with a loud moan, “God, I want to taste you so bad right now,” he gripped your thighs firmly and pushed your legs back.
“Aww, is my good boy needy? Go ahead Eddie, make me come with your tongue.”
He didn’t need to be told twice. He teased your clit, sucking it gently like he knew you liked. Swirling small circles in and around your hole. He savored every bit of your pussy, the vibrations from his moaning adding to the sensations. You began to lose focus. Your concentration slowly evaporated as he worked you over, your moans and whining becoming less and less dominant by the minute until finally you screamed out in release.
“You taste so good princess, thank you for letting me make you come.”
You threw your head back, “Fuck, I need your cock Eddie. Please fuck me!”
You could feel his hands on you, rubbing your hips, his mouth kissing your neck, “Yeah? Do you need me baby? You need me to take care of you?”
“Yes! Please, I want to feel your cock inside me!”
He pulled away long enough to grab a condom and then returned, “You are absolutely incredible you know that? You want my cock sweet thing?”
Your mind was mush. Completely overstimulated from everything, you could barely respond, “Please sir!”
You felt him press inside you with a groan, he was praising how wet you were and how good you were doing. His thrusts hit the perfect spot with each push and pull, drawing out another orgasm from your body. He must have also been worked up too because you felt like it hadn’t even been that long before he was nearing the end.
“C-can I come princess? I made you feel so good, can I come please?”
You screamed out in raw pleasure, “God yes, yes! Come sir!”
You both laid there on the bed after he collapsed beside you. Your mind floated back down to earth slowly and the closer to the ground it got, the more sadness filled your mind. You realize as your head clears that you slipped back into the sub role as he was fucking you. You couldn’t do what he wanted, even though you tried you failed. Before the first tear fell down your cheek he was already holding you.
“Hey,” he wiped the tear away with his thumb, “What’s wrong sweetheart?”
“I couldn’t do it Eddie,” you cried into his chest, “I tried but when you started fucking me I just-”
“Shh, no no sweetheart. You didn’t do anything wrong. You did so good! I know that was all unfamiliar to you, but I enjoyed it so much, besides, fucking you silly to the point you lose all coherency is kind of my thing right?” he held you against him. The two of you laid there for so long you lost track of how long it had been. His hands mindlessly rubbing your back the whole time. The silence ended with his quiet voice, “I really liked it when you called me a good boy.”
You sniffled and smiled up from his chest. You felt so relaxed and your earlier anxiety about failing him had faded, “I liked that too, I really liked watching your facial expressions change when I said something bossy. Do you think next time I’ll do better?”
His pupils widened and you could feel the increase in his heartbeat, “You would do it again?”
Part of the reason you are so good at your job is by being self reflective. If a lesson or an idea doesn't work out as planned, you’re always looking for ways to improve. Brief flashes of all the changes you were already formulating in your head put a wide grin on your lips, “Of course Eddie! I think you might’ve accidentally created a monster.”

Barry Allen and 😇🍫🧸?
😇 A headcanon about their religion/lack thereof
I really like the idea that Barry was raised in a combined Jewish/Christian (non-denominational) household before his parents died. I see the West family as most likely being either Baptist or Methodist but not necessarily great attendance-wise for services, so Barry would attend with them when they did, but he had to make a lot more of an effort to keep up his Jewish roots. And in college he just ended up letting both slide because he had so much else on his plate and it was just... hard to believe in either religion after his mom died.
I could see him wanting to reconnect with his parents faiths post S9 - he's finally found peace with their deaths and has his first child with Iris now so he's at a place in his life where he's not so angry with the idea of god as he might've been previously. I kind of see him relating a lot more to Jewish culture and faith than Christian, though. And I think of his mom being the Jewish parent, so I also like that as being something that helps him better connect with his memories of happy times with her - something that he probably struggled with thinking about in the past before he finally got that catharsis in S9.
I don't know that he really believes in god, but given everything he's learned about since becoming the Flash - sentient forces of nature with issues regarding possessiveness, for one thing - he doesn't totally rule the idea out either. The multi-verse is a vast place and he's experienced some kind of after life at least once and for all he knows reality is even bigger than all of that. Best to keep an open mind.
🍫 A headcanon about food
Early seasons Barry was bad at remembering to eat enough. He was used to working through lunch when he got busy and forgot and while he didn't do it often enough for that to be a problem pre-powers... once he got his powers it became a problem. Even if he didn't skip lunch, if he didn't eat enough and then went running too much then he'd probably still wind up passed out somewhere. He probably fainted a lot more during S1 than we were shown - it'd explain why Eddie accepted the whole lightning-psychosis explanation so easily after the, uh, kissing incident/well-deserved punch.
As the series moved on, though I think a combination of Barry getting better at reminding himself to eat - phone alarms and the like, plus Joe and Iris (and Julian while he was still there) reminding him that no, he's not allowed to just work through lunch or dinner - and his growing connection to the Speed Force allowing him to pull more energy to sustain himself directly from it meant that his issues with fainting became largely a rarity.
But another part of the problem was Barry being uncomfortable with being seen as a glutton/being judged for over-eating in public. It's probably something he'll always struggle with to some degree - being able to eat enough while feeling like he's being judged by strangers for doing so - so he might not always enough while going out to eat with friends & family, then compensate later by eating more at home/work/elsewhere. It contributes to why Iris wants to learn to cook so badly despite being so awful at it; she knows eating enough is something Barry struggles with and she wants to contribute to the solution.
🧸 A headcanon about their childhood
Barry did spend time in a group home briefly after his dad's case was finalized. It wasn't necessarily a bad place, but there were too many kids and it wasn't nearly as nice as Joe's so Barry was incredibly relieved to be brought back to the West family home when Joe got approved to be a long term placement for him.
Joe might not have believed in Barry's dad's innocence, but he very clearly cared about Barry and wanted the best for him. Whereas in the group home, Barry was just another kid in the system; so while Joe was more aware of (and strict) about Barry running off to visit his dad, Joe also gave him the attention and structure he desperately needed. And Henry was probably a lot happier about Joe having custody of Barry than Barry being stuck with guardians who didn't really have the time, energy, or patience for him (despite personally feeling betrayed by Joe disbelieving him), which contributed to Barry being happier with Joe too.
