This is a piece about chronic fatigue although the original idea i had for it drifted a bit as soon as I started coloring the linear #(i really enjoy shading and lighting things and got a bit carried away here but i stand by my choice because this is my favorite thing #that i've ever drawn) #anyways. i often feel especially lately with school being back in season that my bones are leaden with this sort of. weariness. theyre heav #it weighs on our mental health and energy a lot and although there's a couple of reasons we have been given for it #that doesn't remove the fact that this is still a thing that affects us in a very real way day to day although we are good at masking it. #often i come home to find that i do not have the physical mental or creative energy to work on things i really want to #especially project: nexus which i feel extra bad about even though i can't help it because i just started it so recently #it is a mild to moderate struggle to make it day to day and i just. wanted to represent this somehow #my original concept for this was a skeleton with some black goop gunk whatever leaking from its joints #but as i started adding the cracks and coloring them gold (a personal touch; kintsugi is a concept that is very dear to us) #i realized that the focus here was less on the condition itself and more on the body that it afflicts. #so i put it into a spotlight. #ironic i know since very little people acknowledge this irl or even know it exists at all but i added rim lighting. I added color gradients #I colored the lineart and made it all fancy and even added a flare for the head to get the point across that even at its core; disability i #a performance. this is not implying that disabilities are fake in fact this is the opposite of that. i wanted to show that with disabilitie #especially i think in my personal opinion the invisible ones #we are all masking at least a little bit during the vast majority of the day. humans are social creatures and it is only when we are alone #or with someone we deeply trust where we allow ourselves to be who we truly are without fear and even then that can be rare #so i wanted to show this bit of the soul in as broad a limelight as i could. idk this is a really abstract piece and i dont know if anyone #will even get it but it matters to me at least. and even though we've been largely bedridden for the past week i think that's okay #we will get it figured out. all of us. okay? okay. i love you. i fucking love you. we are going to fucking make it #(also the xes over the eyes are because i thought they looked cool they have no deeper meaning at least i think they dont #actually i think they do but i cant put it into words idk. About Amity black out, movie style

It's a great idea, I like it as a way to explain why JL never came to checki it out/why Amity Park never asked for help if we go with two way route.

But.

There is no wall that's perfect. And whoever had put up a black out (probably before JL was formed or else older people would probably try to contact them after bigger attack) had to know this. Some info would slip and if it was truly iron curtain, no info in or out, people would realize something was of.

So they did they best to filter out stuff that people shouldn't know, i.e. heroes and later, ghosts.

And if some article or message somehow slipped through anyway?

It's about movie. It's a way to sell a new superhero/supernatural movie.

I remember few years ago I watched YouTube video about movie from late 90' or early 00' that was announced like this. I'm, like, 70% sure it was "Blair Witch Project' but I have no idea. Point is, instead of trailers or anything like that, marketing team or whoever got this idea started making articles and stuff around the internet about things that happened in the movie/were clearly connected, framing it as a truth. A lot of people bought it. Actors weren't well known at the time so before premiere they went missing for like two weeks or so.

Whoever put a black out around Amity does the same but in reverse. If some smallest bit of truth gets past their defences, they put all their efforts into making it look like innovative marketing idea though with not as great execution since it's obviously a marketing trick.

Unless someone who shouldn't met hero/ghost on their vacation out/in the city, they could assume that this place is milking this upcoming movie like a golden cow or something. In some circumstances, even meeting the hero/ghost could not break their belief.

I'm not sure how to go about when ghosts affected world outside, like Ember or Undergrowth thing (though, in YJ cartoon was this thing about Poison Ivy getting some boost and sending some weird plants all around the world maybe it happened at the similar time and they never realized there were two plant villains at that time, idk, I know norhing more about these fights other than that these two things happened xD). I'm sure someone with actual knowledge about both universes would manage to find something

But yeah, that's the idea. Every info about JL and hero/villain bullshit looks like movie trailers in Amity while ghost mess when it happens, looks the same to the rest of the world.

Up to you is how the containment is breached (though, how about it's not Bats or Constantine? I like them lot but maybe let's give others time to shine)

The parallel between Sokka and Tenzin as their fathers' sons.

Sokka, left at 13 as his father and all the other men head off to war. Hakoda tells him "being a man is knowing where he's needed the most" and he needs to protect his sister, his home.

Tenzin is the second airbender. He is also half water tribe, he's a man. When Aang dies, he will be the last airbender. He understands what he needs to do.

Untold amount of pressure and responsibility have been thrust upon them by their fathers. Though, I believe it is not all intentional, but the unfortunate circumstance of being the fathers of sons who take responsibility incredibly seriously.

In Sokka's case, "protect your sister" is a vague instruction. It was meant to give him purpose, to help him feel okay about being left behind, He is too young for war, his father does not want to bring his child to slaughter. But Sokka will die with purpose. He will train the children of his tribe so they will be protected, he will face a fire nation ship until his last breath. He cannot go to war, but Hakoda did not see that war was all around them. In trying to give Sokka purpose, Hakoda put their world on his shoulders.

We do not get to see Aang be a father (in the TV shows), but we know he had hopes for the future. All his children were air nomads, and the air acolytes brought his culture back, but Tenzin could bend. This part of their culture is one ONLY they share. I do not think Aang would hide this, he is joyous that he gets to share his culture. When he feels respected, he always is, he taught the air acolytes after all. Off handedly, he could say, "I'm hopeful for a future where there are lots more air benders," and that, which feels mostly innocuous to him, is the nail in the coffin of Tenzin's fate. He is Avatar Aang's son, and the future of the air benders. It would not matter that Aang meant a future in generations. Tenzin sees the responsibility and it's his. He is his father's only air bending child, he knows what he needs to do.

Being a parent is not understanding the way the things you say harm your children. Even those things that feel innocuous in the moment can be life altering. Especially the more the child respects the parent. Purpose and Hope for those with a broader perspective, can be death sentences to a life that could have been when expressed to those who idolize the former.

I'm so bad at actually remembering to recommend fics I like, but I was just reminded of "You And Me Were Built for Violence" and I wanted to take a moment and recommend it to folks if they haven't had a chance to take a look at it yet! It's a Fuga Impossivel + 2b2t crossover fic where Tazercraft are washed up on 2b2t shortly after their escape from Alcatraz and are found by none other than FitMC. It's got some great Fit/Pac content and some really good Tazercraft content. 10/10 fic! There's only two chapters so far, but they're both very satisfying and well written.
