A while ago the perfect assassin was born, she was Talia's daughter but Ra didn't like the rebellious look in her eyes, they were claiming for destruction and he knew that she would do nothing but destroy the League as soon as she could.

So he rejected her as the heir, something Jazz grew to resent. When the twins Danyal and Damian were born, one was clearly weaker than the other, considering that he was born without breathing and was only saved at the last second.

This made Ra make his decision: Damian would be the heir and Danyal his shadow. But Danyal wasn't interested in killing, no matter how much he was punished for refusing, he wanted to see, to explore, to learn. Everyone could see it.

Because Damian was spending more time on heir training, Jazz devoted herself to taking care of Danyal. She tried to teach him but the boy kept refusing, failing over and over again in the most simply things, Jazz hated him.

Until she stopped hating and became fond of him, feeling a kinship because of their grandfather's rejection. Danny taught Jazz things she had never considered (love, stars, a new interest far away from training, find the meaning of life simply by living) and she made her decision: she would save the boy.

Jazz escaped with Maddie Fenton (one of Talia's students) seeing she wantes to save them too and could pass as their mother, she took Danny with her. She couldn't leave him in that place, she wouldn't forgive herself.

Of course, Damian grew to resent his younger twin for taking their sister away. Blaming him for being weak, why did Jazz leave him behind? He could be a good little brother too, he was better than Danyal! In everything!

Currently feeling a bit feral over the fact that Natalia means Christmas Day - as in the birth of Jesus Christ and Bucks story is so heavily leaning into the birth death and resurrection of Christ - the saviour - as a central part of his narrative arc. Her presence is literally about the birth of buck - as in processing his grief about why he was born - as a saviour baby.

#Buck hasn’t processed that trauma that dates back to his birth #he was never allowed to grieve the brother he didn’t know he had #and then he was in a coma where he created this version of Daniel - a deep rooted trauma response in itself #but that’s brought the Daniel of it all closer to the surface of his concious #and he needs to process and grieve and allow himself to move on from that #and I think Natalia the death doula is a key part of this - because she is ideally situated to help him process that specific trauma #this isn’t so much about his own recent brush with death (although it’s part of it) it’s about going back to the beginning and processing #he needs to deal with the Daniel of it all before he can deal with everything else #in the same way we had Eddie going back to his own root trauma - with his father - and processing and dealing with things #via frank. this is just Buck taking a different path which will have a similar outcome #yes Buck May date her as he goes through this process but ultimately he’s attracted to her metaphysically - because she can help him #not because he’s actually attracted to her romantically #also the show has doesn’t too much time recently showing us the buddifer family - to ensure we can see where things are heading #before it continues to process their trauma #thinky thoughts #911 spoilers #911 on fox #911 fox #911onfox #evan buckley

That one reddit post where the guy moves into a new apartment building but hasn't met his neighbors ft. sladejay.

The nice thing about having brothers is that they're obligated to help you move into your new apartment. Not so nice is having to listen to said brothers' opinions on the legitimacy of the building because it's clearly a front for something nefarious and not up to code and did Jason even vet the place before signing his lease?

"Desperate times, desperate measures." Jason says, using his elbow to hit the button for the lift. Suspect as it is, the start and stop ride gets the adrenaline pumping; it hasn't failed them yet, so the place isn't too bad.

"Because you were so hard pressed living comfortably at home with no expenses and no expectations." Tim quips back at him, deadpan. The sarcasm and sass is hardly appreciated, though Jason likes to imagine it's just Tim's way of lashing out at Jason for leaving him at the manor to fend for himself.

"It's called independence, Timothy." Jason says, raising his shoulder in a lackadaisical shrug as he teases, "You'll understand when you're older."

"Nothing says 'independence' like Bruce paying your rent." Tim intones, unbothered by the wicked read until Jason hip checks him in retaliation and he stumbles into a wall. When Tim threatens to drop Jason's shit, Jason dares him. Jason will drop him, the punkass.

If only because Dick would usually have intervened in their shenanigans by now, Jason looks over his shoulder at him. Tim follows suit and they both frown as Dick stares at the elevator, jaw set.

"You good, big bird?" Jason asks, wandering back to Dick's side. When Dick continues to space out, Jason knocks their shoulders and tilts his head to better catch Dick's gaze.

With Dick's attention on him, that quiet intensity from before softens some, but there's still trepidation. It makes Jason purse his lips, sulking, "Hey, you're the one that supported this."

Dick grimaces, caught out, "I do support you, just—does it have to be here?"

Jason's sulk devolves into a pout. He argues, "Your first apartment wasn't much better."

Before Tim can interject with commentary on how Dick didn't have daddy dearest paving the way for his independence, Jason turns on him with a warning scowl, trying and failing to not be endeared as Tim cackles under his breath. Jason flips him off, pointedly turning back to Dick who, frankly, looks antsy as fuck.

"Stay with me instead." Dick bargains. "You can take the spare room until another unit opens up."

"Hard pass."

On cue, the elevator chimes and the doors screech open jerkily. Only while Tim shuffles his way inside, Dick stays resolutely in place. He shoots Jason a look that's equal parts pained and pleading. "Then take my place. I'll stay here."

"For fuck's sake, it's not that bad." Jason groans, bumping the boxes he holds against the ones Dick has in hand and corralling him back into the elevator. "You're being dramatic."

Tim scoffs and Jason sneers at him, backing and squishing his brother into a corner and keeping him there with his bulk.

Bickering and bantering as they all are, they don't notice the hand that catches the door before the lift can close, only how it pushes the door open and how they all look up and oh. Hot damn.

The moment Jason's jaw drops, Dick smacks it back closed with an aggrieved and impatient huff. Like hell Dick's temperament could be of any consequence to Jason at the moment though because an actual beefcake terminator saunters onto the lift and fuck, Jason can't stop staring. If this is his neighbor, he definitely moved to the right place. Fuck what anyone else thinks.

Just as Jason is appreciating the man's imposing stature, he hears a gruff, "Sit down."

The order sends a trill up Jason's spine like a live wire and without thinking, like the fool he is, Jason sits.

It's only as he kneels on the floor, eyes still caught on broad shoulders and strong arms that he only wishes would throw him around, that he sees the dog at the man's heel. Because the man was talking to his dog. Not Jason.

Oh.

As the elevator starts moving up through the floors, jarring in its sudden fits of movement, Jason jerkily raises his head to make eye contact with his neighbor, a pretty blush burning hot across Jason's face.

His neighbor looks after him in turn, amused and appraising before he smirks and oh, it's sinful. A low chuckle escapes the man, drawing another shiver up Jason's spine. While he pats his dog's head, his eyes don't move from Jason when he says, "Good boy."

Fuck. That's—oh.

To be so humiliated and turned on—fuck this old man. And by that Jason means let the old man fuck him. Please and thanks.

Before Jason can make the suggestion, the man's gaze shifts to Dick and he teases, taunts, "He one of yours, Grayson?"

What.

Betrayal is Jason's first petulant thought, followed by a more reasonable sense of dread because this man isn't Dick's type, but Dick knows he's Jason's [type] and—

No, no no. This is why you never have brothers help you move into your new place; to be blue balled after Jason has had arguably the most cringe of meet-cutes, too!

But Jason can see from the set of Dick's shoulders and the tilt of his chin that this potential romance is dead in the water. For whatever reason, Dick is intent on that. Unfortunately for him, Jason has never been the best at minding him. In fact, Jason will throttle him for this, the killjoy.

"He's my brother." Dick says, terse. "Don't fuck with him, Slade."

Slade's gaze sweeps over Jason, a fleeting once over that leaves heat trailing in its wake. There's a sharp nudge to his lower back—Tim, reminding Jason that he's still sat on the floor like an idiot; so embarrassing.

"That's asking a lot of a man." Slade drawls. He looks to Dick with a crooked and biting grin, so charming that Jason might swoon a bit. "What would I get out of this?"

Dick's expression shifts into something so damn petulant that Slade laughs again, pleasantly low and husky. It's such a nice sound that Jason can't even be bothered by the fact that he's missing some sort of crucial detail to explain the tension going on.

Dick and Slade know each other, somehow. And Slade irritates Dick in a way that Jason never knew was possible, too.

When Slade tilts his head to the side, the large dog at his side springs forward, tail wagging happily as it jumps up to rest its large paws on the boxes Dick holds—licking at Dick's cheek like he's seeing an old friend again. It undermines Dick's authority considerably and Jason marvels the exchange.

The lift door opens and Slade turns back to Jason. Appraising him before he smirks, "Welcome to the building, boy."

been thinking of Loki as a vengeful ghost/demon that tries to kill Thor after dying on Jotunheim except instead of killing Thor straightup Thor's on a quest following a trail of weird clues and strange happenings across multiple realms sort of? so Loki is just leading him around not showing himself but very much heartbroken in the distance about how Thor just 'moved on'. Meanwhile on Thor's end it's very evident in how Thor handles quests once Loki is gone that he still follows all the advice and suggestions Loki made, and tries to consider what Loki would have done when he does things.

I 100% agree with that fandom post re: separating actors from their character, & even if I didn't... Misha just didn't do a good job as casifer, & I care way more about the performance/art of television (which I know sounds silly re: late supernatural, but just because something is bad doesn't mean we can't have standards)

Yeah, overall I don't have an opinion on the spn actors beyond 'did they do well at their jobs' because it's none of my business and doesn't interest me. i'm not unaware of The Controversies, but one thing you've got to admit, mp understood the assignment. he understood the assignment better than the writers lmao. i genuinely think his performance is the saving grace of late seasons lucifer.

misha collins. i have no idea if it was the writing, the directing, or his own choices, but he is missing something. it really stands out specifically when you watch the episode where you go from nick!lucifer to casifer, there's just something off about the way he plays it. not to say 'season 5 did it better' but i will forever remember in swan song when we finally go from nick!lucifer to sam!lucifer and how eerily good the transition was. casifer is making the noises and doing the dance, but i. do not think misha collins really knew what he was doing askjdalsjd. again, not totally his fault because late seasons lucifer is a nearly unsalvageable trainwreck of bad writing, but i Do Not Like Watching Him.

#i bring up the swan song transition specifically because it's so similar. if you watch that scene you can see exactly when lucifer stops #pretending to be sam. jared's stance changes the way he talks changes everything is just. i dont knowwwwwwwwwww i just. my thing is that i think the changelings could have an interesting place in the narrative given jims whole conflict is about trying to navigate his place in two worlds neither of which he completely fits in but both of which he needs to be his complete and authentic self. but they shoot themselves in the foot by making strickler the main one and they get sooooo close to doing this with nomura before getting bored and doing it again but worse with strickler. so in my mind i think this is why i was so set on addy being a changeling because i want her to fill that narrative role of someone who's ACTUALLY chill about this dichotomy and who really loves this part of herself without the baggage inherent to nomnoms situation (not acknowledging strickler he did most of that to himself). i just think he needs someone who can show him that its actually genuinely very possible to have both halves of his heart especially post-potion. but man. you cant really get there without dancing around the janus order stuff. and i know if she was real it would just be a cheap lampshade like "welllll shes a polymorph so. no familiar no problem" but that opens up a can of worms that i feel responsible for. and just in general the entire thing has so much baggage. i wish this show was GOOD.

#like i like the concept that the changelings were troll babies tortured with dark magic i think for me it justifies arrghs fondness for her #because hes in an extremely similar situation and i think him watching it happen under his command would be enough for him to say hm. i can #do this anymore goodbye. and i like those kinds of dynamics a lot #so i feel like you can just take that aspect and run with it #instead of the familiars give them some sort or mild innate mental magic? so they can write their identities into peoples lives #so you can still get that sense of like. an invader where its not supposed to be #without having to touch goblin baby kidnapping #'but that ruins the whole plot with claire' idgaf figure it out. i would do somwthing wlse with that anyways #they retroactively imply claires magic is innate later on in wizards anyways #so if youre gonna do that just make her brother also have it in some way which would make him a valuable asset if noticed by someone like #strickler. make it smt with the bridge or some other thing where they neeeeeeeed a magic user and itd be too risky to like. kidnap a studen #so they cant take claire. or nobodys noticed she has powers yet #make it so the baby goes missing and nobody seems to remember him at all EXCEPT claire #bcz strickler mind powers. which tangent but u can also use later for his thing w jims mom #and makes the whole 'we have to erase her memories of him' less convoluted bullshit #anyways back on track. just have the baby at the bridge ceremony for magic power reasons and in the conflict smth grabs him and takes him #thru the portal in the hopes of opening the bridge frm the other side #anyways.tthey had options is all im saying and they chose to do it in the worst way possible #just scrap the janus order im not touching that #it was so fucking pointless anyways. they didnt DO anything not one single thing
