Still thinking about the anon from yesterday and the more i think about it the more mad i get like you're insane for calling kaeya mid i hope you blow up. Bitching in the tags ft arguments my smart sexy boyfriend brought up yesterday while we were talking about this so credit where credit is due
#🗨️#LIKE.#kaeya-diluc brotherly issues are interesting because kaeya is by far the most interesting character in the game sorry#like. genuinely i wanna know what they meant by the two of them having a “trope that's been handled better by other media”#because their deal is not just ougj brothers fighting#it's specifically about kaeya being adopted and about his conflict with belonging to a nation and a community and a family#and his loyalty to his duty and his birth family vs his loyalty to the city and family who took him#the only thing i could think of that has handled similar themes better is the untamed but that's literally a show based on a novel#so i feel like comparing them is a bit unfair#like ofc i know there's sibling drama out there 🙄 but that's not why kaeya brotherly issues are interesting#there's his dynamic with diluc his dynamic with crepus AND diluc's dynamic with crepus too#other than kaeya'#s whole thing with his birth father#idk. kaeya haters need to die a thousand deaths#i am Not articulate enough rn I'm still dying from back pain but you get me. you agree. if you don't you can fall over snd exlode#like there's a specific power dynamic at play in regards to the adopted child survivor of a fallen nation being rejected for that fact by#his adopted brother. on the night of their father's death. like yes i know diluc is stupid yes i know they still love each other as brother#even if their relationship is tense i know it's set up for eventual reconciliation#but just kaeya's whole deal IS about family. in general.#a bunch of characters' deals are about family in general like i could start listing them and it wouldn't end it's just like kaeyaaaaa#kaeya. is the guy of all time

Character arc - Niobe von Valancius
Tumblr media
portrait by @mayoonrices
I was tagged by @bnbc to participate in @fuchsiareign's Rogue Trader character arc prompt and it sounded like fun!
Niobe's arc is a strange one, and I'll explain why in due course.
To begin with, it's a story of love vs duty and pushing the limits of both in search of the answer to the following questions: which is strongest? Can a balance be achieved? Ultimately, it is a story of personal sacrifice for a perceived "greater good" (no, not in the Tau sense, that's heresy. ;) )
Niobe was born in a world of privilege most citizens of the Imperium could only dream of, but that doesn't mean her life was easy. From an early age, she was groomed to take up a specific position within her family hierarchy: ambassador to the other noble courts in Scarus sector. It's a role she then fulfilled for 2 decades, always on the lookout for ways she could advance her house's interests while undermining their rivals. It was a world of secrets and intrigue and double-dealing and she was profoundly lonely despite being surrounded by people.
Then she was summoned by Theodora von Valancius, THE von Valancius to whom House Theseis which she was part of was related by blood, but distantly enough that they had no right to the name. Until she took up the mantle of Rogue Trader, that is.
In some ways, her new duties weren't entirely unfamiliar to her: she had long been wrangling people with hidden agendas and uncertain loyalties, and she had the poise and authority to go with the title of Lord Captain.
Other things she had no idea about and had to learn as she went along while trying to keep her protectorate from falling apart. Part of what initially brought her and Heinrix close was her appreciation for his sharp intellect and sensible advice.
Then Commorragh happened. That constituted Niobe's "fall from grace" when she almost lost her life, her retinue, her love but most importantly of all, she lost some of her humanity. In order to save Heinrix from further torment, she grovelled before Tervantias and begged for his release, an unforgivable act in her eyes (and that of the Imperium). It left a deep scar and fuelled her existing xenophobia to unprecedented heights. She had never been fond of xenos, but after this she absolutely loathed them and hunted them down with extreme prejudice. She became less inclined to be merciful, and more likely to make examples of those who displeased her.
As for her relationship with Heinrix, it ended in a mutual agreement that their respective duties came first. He went on to become the next Lord Inquisitor while Niobe continued her tenure as Lord Captain, and the two met as often as their many responsibilities permitted. They had a son, Lysander, although Heinrix only found out about it 3 years after his birth.
This is where things get complicated, because I have two possible endings in mind for her - a bittersweet one which is in line with the ending slides I got and a much darker one which I came up with on a whim but which kind of tempts me to make canon. XD
In the first possible ending, she and Heinrix join forces many decades into the future for one last mission against the enemies of mankind, and die gloriously in battle, side by side, by ramming the ship into an enemy dreadnought.
In the second possible ending, Niobe's son Lysander manifests psychic powers and is taken away for sanctioning but doesn't make the cut and is sacrificed to the Emperor instead. Niobe, who had been very reluctant to let him go, is stricken by grief and becomes less and less interested in running her protectorate. Instead, she ends up locking herself up in her son's old rooms, which had been kept completely closed off and left untouched since his departure, and becomes a kind of Space Miss Havisham. In her deeply depressed, hopeless state, she is vulnerable to the predations of Grandfather Nurgle who corrupts her mind and body and gradually those of everyone in the estate. Eventually Heinrix himself calls a purge of that part of Dargonus.
Phew! That was a lot of text!

👫 lyanna and rhaegar!
Send a 👫and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship ACCEPTING
Rhaegar worried about Lyanna's age and giving birth at fifteen. He knows from his mother and wife's experiences, childbirth is no easy task. But he knew that the child that came from their coupling would need to have the strength of both his parents to endure the coming Long Night and defeat what it must. After seeing Lyanna as the laughing knight at 14 he knew she would be strong enough to birth a child and be fine. (she wasn't because she died in childbirth...I also HC it was the stress of war, of loss of family, and not having adequate maesters being in the tower of joy that could deal with bleeding and pulling out a baby. I have 100% certainty if she had had a proper maester and as we see in HOTD, 'nurses' she'd be alive. If Elia could survive two and if the last one nearly killed her and a third would...Lyanna should have been okay and in prime condition to birth a child under normal circumstances)
Rhaegar wouldn't have chosen Lyanna if he had a choice in the beginning. I do write Lyanna and Rhaegar as duty vs love and also love vs duty. But in the end, I think he would have chosen Elia or Cersei first. Elia was more close in age and choosing Cersei would have kept Tywin, a very powerful vassal and hand of the king where he was most needed and ensured his loyalty. Robert and the rest really only won towards the end because tywin and his forces came in. Besides the fact Greyjoys only joined at the end because after Rhaegar's death it was clear who would win.) If Rhaegar had Cersei he might have had three children and been fine. No Lyanna needed. Though the ice and fire part may have bugged him, at least the dragon would have three heads.
In a AU where they live and have minimal casualties because AU events and Rhaegar becomes King, he stays married to Elia, explaining everything to Lyanna, Ned and the rest about the prophecy. Lyanna is taken as a second wife and Rhaegar suggests Cersei and Robert marry and Robert is given the position as Master of War (I know it's a show thing but I like it so I'm stealing it) and all the rebels are pardoned, Rhaegar spinning their act as a part of his rebellion against his father and the Lords that supported him. Names Jamie Lannister Lord Commander of the Kingsguard and formally asks Tywin to come back as hand.
Lyanna manages to relieve Rhaegar of his melancholic moods easier than most have been able to. Rhagear finds himself laughing and feeling happy when she's around. Not to say Elia makes him miserable, quite the opposite. She makes him happy as well, but Lyanna is able to pull him out of his depression easier and for longer periods of time, mainly because she gets him to go outside and train with her in how to wield weapons properly.

i give u free reign to infodump ab all of the knights and the og army bc i am vv intrigued agjgssgsh
THERE IS SO MUCH HERE OMFG MORAL OF THIS STORY NEVER ASK ME TO INFO DUMP BECAUSE I WILL TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF IT—
Tumblr media
I've separated it into sections:
The Knights of Walpurgis, and the motivations for their assigned sins.
Dumbledore's First Resistance, and the motivations for their assigned virtues.
The dynamics between the opposing contenders.
Given the sheer volume of information, I've included a cut. Please enjoy this manip that I am still very proud of.
THE KNIGHTS OF WALPURGIS (later known as Death Eaters) Tom Riddle (Pride)
Pride and arrogance were very large contributing factors to Tom Riddle's downfall in the end, and honestly, the whole idea for the gifset came from Florence + The Machines' Seven Devils playing while casually thinking of Dagrim and Tom, and then about how perfectly Tom would fit as Lucifer.
Dagrim Patil (Avarice)
When questioned about what she wants, and what Riddle promised her in exchange for her unwavering loyalty, her response is, quite simply: everything. Dagrim grew up starved not for affection, but recognition. And what she was denied in childhood, she would take in adulthood by force. Her philosophy is that if something is worth wanting, it is worth taking.
Cantankerous Nott IV (Lust)
We know so little about Theodore Nott's father from the source material, other than he was elderly, and he raised Theo himself. And that he was a Death Eater, of course. His name is an ode to his ancestor, the Cantankerous Nott who created the Sacred Twenty-Eight pureblood directory. I assigned him "lust" purely for the events leading to the conception of his son (sis, it gets messy).
Abraxas Malfoy (Envy)
Abraxas Malfoy envied Tom Riddle to the point of a half attempted mutiny. He was quickly put in his place, his co-conspirators made examples of, and spared only for his close friendship with Dagrim, who pleaded for his life. Riddle, who trusted Dagrim to a fault for all she'd done to earn it, conceded. Abraxas would later prove himself to Riddle again, regaining his seat among Riddle's favoured generals. He was the one who taught Lucius to never disobey the Dark Lord, and he was not a kind teacher.
Ulysses Mulciber (Gluttony)
Indulgence and excess, spoiled rotten and filthy rich. The Mulcibers were the richest of the Sacred at one point in their lives, rivalled only by the Malfoys. Ulysses never knew the meaning of "enough," and was a glutton not only in all manners of vice, but also for cruelty, dealing it out carelessly with little to no regard for the repercussions he was well protected from by his noble standing and wealth. He was one of Riddle's greatest allies and sponsors, and instrumental in his rise to power.
Carmilla Avery (Wrath)
Carmilla was in the year above Riddle, and was quick to anger and slow to calm. Her temper was legendary, and even her younger brothers – also admitted into the Death Eater ranks – feared her. She had an untempered fury, a rage at the world for no reason at all. She developed an unhealthy codependency with Abraxas Malfoy, who served to have a soothing presence over her. People seldom survive crossing her, as her reputation dictates.
Serafine Lestrange (Sloth)
Serafine is not lazy (as the sin "sloth" would suggest), she just lacks the motivations to pursue the goals that are expected of her. A particularly bright witch, and a wealthy one too, she never applied herself at school for she didn't see the need. Instead, she fell into a fascination of the Dark Arts, where she met Riddle, perusing the Restricted Section. She is rather discontented with life, disillusioned from already such a young age. She initially joins Riddle's gang for the excitement of it all.
DUMBLEDORE'S FIRST RESISTANCE (later known as the Order of the Phoenix in its official conception in 1970)
Albus Dumbledore (Patience)
Name a man more patient than Dumbledore, I'll wait. Better yet, he'll wait, because he's patient as hell. So patient, in fact, he waited until after Harry's supposed death to come to him as a hallucination and tell him about how he was a Horcrux.
Rathin Patil (Temperance)
Temperance is abstinence, and I wanted to explore the kind of toll having his sister so far gone into the dark would have on any man, let alone one who really cared for her and wanted to do right by her. Rathin is not a perfect man, he is still fallible, and unfortunately, he develops a dependent comfort in inebriation when Dagrim disappears with Riddle. He pulls himself back together, especially when he becomes Isaiah Moody's partner at the Ministry, and he begins to pursue Miraya.
Miraya Varma (Diligence)
Methodical and persistent, Miraya Varma earned herself a position at the Ministry immediately out of Hogwarts where she would later go on to form her own task force within the Ministry specifically designed for the interrogation and recommended sentencing of dark wizards and witches. She has been known to put her duty first, up until the birth of her son, Divyansh Patil, father to Padma and Parvati.
Isaiah Moody (Humility)
For a very long time, people seldom knew the Moody name, and that was the way Isaiah liked it. He believed that his line of work would endanger his loved ones (in spite of his wife being in the same profession) and so he never took credit for the numerous arrests he made. It was Isaiah who suspected something was strange about Morfin Gaunt's arrest while investigating the Riddle Massacre, and consulted Dumbledore about it. Once his identity was discovered and he was viewed as a threat by Riddle, an attack was made on his heavily pregnant wife, jeopardizing her and his unborn boy's (Alastor) life.
Minerva McGonagall (Chastity)
Mini Minnie is seventeen, my dudes. But not only that, Minerva grew up with a religious father (he was canonically a reverend), who probably taught her his values. Also given the fact that Minerva was the first of the younger generation to participate and involve herself in the war (she sought out Dumbledore and enlisted herself into his Resistance, fearing her family would be made into another statistic if she didn't at least do something to intervene), she really didn't have much time to think about something as arbitrary as the concept of virginity. Also, it's the 1950s.
Corinne Scamander (Kindness)
Corrine is honestly the greatest. She has all of the tenacity of Tina, and the best qualities of Newt. It was Dumbledore's previous bond with Newt that encouraged him to recruit her, and she willingly accepted, because of course she would. She'd always been the soft spoken girl with a tender touch and a love for life, and she was often the advocate for hope in the resistance. She was adept in a few healing charms she'd learned from her father, and was something of a specialist in magical beings, proving herself to be highly valuable while Riddle was expanding his ranks with all manner of dark creatures.
Declan Diggory (Charity)
Sacrifice is in the Diggory blood, and Cedric's grandfather, Declan, was not the first to prove it. He also, unfortunately, wasn't the last, but he sure was one of the best. Selfless to a fault, Declan would willingly get hypothermia if it meant someone else would have warmth. Diggory's contributions to the war effort consisted of offering sanctuary and shelter to muggleborns who received death threats, and orchestrating the evacuations of targeted muggle residences. He was the leader of a small faction of the resistance, including, but not limited to: Fleamont Potter, Enoch Longbottom, Wilhelm Shacklebolt, and Ramona McKinnon.
DYNAMICS (just the contenders for now because this is hella long)
Albus Dumbledore vs. Tom Riddle
Adversaries, a fair deal of mistrust and guilt from Dumbledore's side (upon reflection, he'd been the one to introduce Tom to the wizarding world; even though he knows that if Riddle had been left unchecked, the risk of him becoming an Obscurus would've resulted in catastrophe all the same). Riddle sees Dumbledore as nothing more than a foolish old man, a pest, and an obstacle to overcome at first, but learns to begrudgingly respect Dumbledore's strength and mastery of magic (after all, Riddle only knew him as the Transfiguration teacher before, and thought the accounts of Dumbledore's victory over Grindelwald had been exaggerated to great effect). Riddle's hubris was believing he could defeat Dumbledore on his own, thinking himself already stronger than Grindelwald ever hoped to be.
Rathin Patil vs. Dagrim Patil
Rathin had always been very protective of Dagrim, and loved her dearly, although his acts of affection were often misinterpreted as pity and condescension. This only served to push them further apart. When Dagrim turned to the Dark Arts and found solace in Riddle, it revolted Rathin, as he was hugely against the corruption the Dark Arts has on the performing witch or wizard, and wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy. He still very much loves her, and it hurts him to fight her. Dagrim, on the other hand, finds catharsis in duelling her brother, believing it to be justice for the way her parents treated her and the little he did to dissuade them.
Miraya Varma vs. Cantankerous Nott
A mutual respect and an academic rivalry, Cantankerous and Miraya were not friends by any means, but not enemies, either. Cantankerous even went as far as to warn Miraya of an impending attack, allowing her to evacuate the building. But although he knows she's clever, he also knows that she's incredibly stubborn, and displayed little surprise to find her awaiting him in the now vacant building. They are equally matched, and their unique relationship spans several decades, even into Cantankerous' failed run at Minister for Magic, and Theodore and the Patil twins' time at Hogwarts. She was present at his trial following the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, and watched as he was sentenced to life in Azkaban for his crimes as a Death Eater.
Isaiah Moody vs. Abraxas Malfoy
Given his profession, Isaiah has a lot of enemies on the Sacred Twenty-Eight who are loyal to the Dark Lord. One such enemy is Abraxas Malfoy. When Tom gets word of Moody's involvement in solving the Riddle Massacre, he sends Malfoy and a newer Death Eater, Evangeline Rosier, to hinder the investigation. Abraxas and Evangeline were responsible for the attack on Isaiah's heavily pregnant wife, who, if she hadn't been an Auror herself, would've never survived. Alastor Moody was prematurely born at St. Mungo's following the attack, and all of Isaiah's efforts were turned on exacting vengeance on those responsible. Malfoy went into hiding, but Isaiah, ruthless, managed to hunt down Rosier. She died under questioning, setting in motion a vicious cycle of vengeance between the Moodys and Rosiers. Once Isaiah had been killed by Evangeline's brother (Evan [who was named after her] Rosier's father), Abraxas deemed it safe to rejoin society.
Minerva McGonagall vs. Ulysses Mulciber
On the list of things Ulysses loathes, he would put half-bloods above muggleborns (although he turns a blind eye to his Dark Lord's blood status when it conveniences him). Half-bloods only serve as a reminder of the lowest and weakest of his kind; the unworthy muggleborns, the lecherous blood traitors, the vermin muggles. Mulciber prides himself as something of a "purifier," and finds great enjoyment in pruning family trees that have been poisoned by muggle blood into purity once more. He takes a great interest in Minerva McGonagall, given that she is an incredibly powerful witch at such a young age, and he wonders how glorious she would've been had she been a pureblood (a twisted and untrue belief among the Sacred Twenty-Eight during that time). Minerva, the threat of Mulciber weighing heavily on her, places her family under Dumbledore's protection. She vows to stop Mulciber and his perverse idea of justice.
Corinne Scamander vs. Carmilla Avery
It didn't take much to enrage Carmilla Avery, and Corinne had been caught in the tempest Carmilla's fury since the day they'd met. Carmilla, who took great pleasure in picking on people she deemed lesser, made a target out of Corinne, perceiving her kindness for weakness. During their time at Hogwarts, Corinne had gained the attention of Avery for being a blood traitor and a muggle sympathizer, which only strengthened Carmilla's vindication. Corinne, who had been friends with Rubeus Hagrid prior to his expulsion, and who had almost fallen prey to the basilisk when she had heard Myrtle Warren's cries from the bathroom, never lowered herself to Carmilla's level nor did she rise to any of the challenges. This hurt Avery's ego, as she thought this was Corinne's way of claiming herself better than her. It wasn't until after Hogwarts that Carmilla's growing resentment came to a head, and, without the protection the school offered Corinne, Carmilla was looking to finally put an end to the blood traitor line of Scamander.
Declan Diggory vs. Serafine Lestrange
Declan and Serafine were childhood friends who drifted apart during their time at Hogwarts, particularly when she fell in with Riddle's crowd. She is viewed by Dumbledore as having the power to sway the entire outcome of the war, for if Serafine could be persuaded into leaving Riddle, her cousins (one of whom is the father of Rodolphus and Rabastan Lestrange) would surely comply, and the families who held the Lestranges in high regard would be inclined to follow. This makes Declan and Serafine key pieces in Dumbledore's game of strategy. However, Serafine was disowned long before she defected from the Death Eaters, leaving the Lestranges firmly in Riddle's grasp. Although Serafine claimed to feel nothing for Diggory, she still refused to deal any real harm to him when they duel, in spite of having ample opportunity to do so; something which Riddle picked up on. She was later forced to torture Declan in front of him to prove her loyalty to the Dark Lord, something which Declan permitted her to do, knowing she had very little choice in the matter. He was left for dead, but Serafine would later secretly return with Corinne to get him medical attention. She gives her son, Francis, "Declan" as a middle name.

Hi Panda, would you happen to know what the Chinese fandom consensus on Madam Lan's backstory is? The consensus in English fandom seems to be that she was a victim of the Lan sect & abused by Qinheng-jun, but before I saw that I thought her and Qinheng-jun and the Lan sect had a misunderstanding, like wangxian in the cave vs the Lan elders after Nightless City, that sort of thing? The difference is so huge I need like an extra 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 50th opinion haha
Hi there! Mmn yes, it’s an interesting question, that part of the story is left ambiguous and led to a lot of speculation. I don’t think there’s really a consensus whether on the Chinese side or the international side. However, I’m not sure we can qualify what happened with Madam Lan and Wei Wuxian a misunderstanding. In my opinion, it’s more a difference of morality. What they did was justified from their perspective while in the eyes of others they have committed a grave crime.
Let’s look at the facts or at least what we assume to be facts.
Qingheng-Jun was a well-known and well-respected young man with a promising future ahead of him but he threw that away when he suddenly decided to marry and live in seclusion at a young age (弱冠之龄 according to the novel, the age when one receives during a coming of age ceremony the crown-like ornament men wore in their hair. It was historically 20 years old but MXTX lowered it to 15 in her setting to have the characters using courtesy names. I’m assuming that Qingheng-Jun is still meant to be 20. Anyway, brief digression). On his way home from a night hunt, he supposedly fell in love at first sight with a woman. However, that woman did not return his affect and killed his master. It’s unclear if that happened after their meeting or before. To protect her from reprisal from his Sect, Qingheng-Jun brought her to the Cloud Recesses in secret and performed with her the three bows that bound them together in marriage. Then, as an act of penance, he went in seclusion and locked away his wife in a separate cottage. That union eventually led to the birth of two sons. (Ch.64)
Of course, the big question is why did she kill Qingheng-Jun’s master? I use master because the term used here is 恩师, an honorific for an esteemed teacher towards whom the student feels grateful for his tutelage. The answer to that question is given by Lan Xichen:
“我不知,但想来无非‘恩怨是非’四个字罢了。”
“I do no know but it is assumed that it came down to a ‘dispute over a past grievance’.
This is fascinating as it explains everything and nothing. 是非 is literally ‘right and wrong’, the two characters together can mean ‘quarrel’. 恩怨 is also made up of the juxtaposition of two characters with opposite meanings, ‘gratitude and grudges’ (the same character 恩 is used in the teacher honorific above). It’s a concept rooted in Chinese culture that features particularly prominently in wuxia/xianxia genres where the notions of justice and honour are core precepts. This term designates old scores that need settling, a debt that has to to be repaid sometimes tenfold. To put it simply, when someone does you or your family a favour, you have a debt of gratitude toward them. When someone wrongs you or your family, you develop a grudge towards them out of deep-seated enmity.
Wei Wuxian is the prime example of this, he went to great lengths to return the kindness he was shown by the Yunmeng Jiang Sect and by the Wen siblings. To him, it’s a moral imperative, he was duty-bound to do so just like he was duty-bound to take revenge against the Qishan Wen Sect.
It’s this same concept that motivates other characters in the story. For instance, Wen Zhuliu’s steadfast loyalty stems from a debt of gratitude (知遇之恩), Wen Ruohan recognised his worth and accepted him within the Wen Clan (hence why he changed his name to Wen) and he cannot leave that debt unpaid (Ch.62). Xue Yang repays the grudge he held against Chang Cian tenfold by exterminating the entire Yueyang Chang Sect (Ch.30).
Coming back to Madam Lan. I’ve seen some speculation from Chinese fans about the origin of that ‘grievance’ between her and Qingheng-Jun’s master. Because of the age gap between them, it is surmised that this is something that happened one generation back. Perhaps he brought harm or even killed Madam Lan’s elder, parent or teacher. It was a duty for Qingheng-Jun to bring her to justice and see about that her crime did not go unpunished. Depending on the gravity of the situation, he might have been well within his rights to kill her himself in retaliation. Instead of pursuing that cycle of revenge, he took another path that protected the woman he loved but also punished the one who had killed his master. Because he went against the Gusu Lan Sect by marrying her in secret, his penitence is to live in seclusion, separate from her and from the affairs of his Sect.
In the Chinese fandom, it is assumed that Madam Lan must have been a woman with impressive skills if she managed to kill a Gusu Lan Sect elder. Did she resist capture from Qingheng-Jun and was forcibly taken to the Cloud Recesses? Did she resign herself to her fate and accepted being confined as punishment? Did she comply and eventually grew fond of the man who became her husband? We don’t know but Lan Xichen remembers his mother as a gentle person who never voiced a complaint about her own situation.
The exact circumstances are shrouded with mystery but most meta and fics I’ve read in the Chinese fandom tend to be of the opinion that love eventually developed between Qingheng-Jun and Madam Lan. But of course, that’s the way we would rather have. What is sure is that this was a tragic ending for all parties involved, including the children left behind.
I’ve also learnt something very very interesting from the meta I’ve read concerning the gentians growing near Madam Lan’s cottage. We know that MXTX has paid special attention to flower meanings with the peony that Wei Wuxian threw to Lan Wangji in Yiling (Ch.71). The flower's alternative name is 将离花, flower of impending separation or flower for saying goodbye soon, a peony can be a parting gift between lovers or would-be lovers forced apart and can have the undertones of "Will you be with me before we part?", "Will you wait for me?" In the audio drama, it’s made clear that Wei Wuxian knew the intended meaning before offering Lan Wangji the flower. Well, due to their bitter roots, in the Chinese flower language, gentians stand for 爱上忧伤的你. Which is. Wheeze. “You’re beautiful in your melancholy.”
In the end, Qingheng-Jun and Madam Lan‘s story is used in the novel to act as a foil to Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji’s relationship. In the past, Lan Wangji also wished to bring Wei Wuxian to the Cloud Recesses and hide him away there. But he couldn’t bring himself to because Wei Wuxian was ‘not willing’ (Ch.72). Interestingly, this story is also framed to contrast with Lan Xichen and Jin Guangyao who are sworn brothers. Remember that it’s Lan Xichen himself that recounts his parents’ story to Wei Wuxian after they have found evidence of Jin Guangyao’s treachery. Just like his father before him, he is torn between personal feelings and his duty to his sect, two conflicting allegiances. When he is asking Wei Wuxian’s opinion of whether his father did was right, what would have been the right thing to do, he is also looking for an answer for himself. Lan Wangji had made his own choice at the aftermath of the Nightless City massacre. He protected Wei Wuxian and brought him back to Burial Mounds, he took responsibility for injuring his Sect’s elders by returning to the Cloud Recesses and accepting being flayed by the discipline whip. He managed to reconcile personal devotion and his family/Sect duties with his own principles and harbours no regret.

that is so valid like istg the first 2, maybe 5 seasons were genuine good tv and character building, if it ended on swan song, spn would have achieved an iconic cultural status like the x files or twin peaks
Bold claim for a show that had paris hilton as a murderous entity and an episode where the monster is a room full of both cgi and live bees — but genuinely if you're careful about which episodes you watch and also construct inside your own mind a version of the show that is objectively good then it's absolutely iconic television.
What gets me about spn is that we could have had it all! The concept of the show is truly god-tier; the family drama, the back alley Americana, kerouac with ghosts, faith and guilt and loyalty — the idea of isolating hyper-masculinity vs the oppressive ties of blood-family vs the family (and the self) you build by choice, it's good! It's actually good!!
Like in the early seasons when it's Dean as this young man who is crushed by obligation, who grew up in a supremely dysfunctional family and hasn't been able to escape, who has no faith in anything, especially not himself and who absolutely and unequivocally believes he is going to die young and that his life is worthless except in that he can save others — setting out to find his father out of this sense of duty, with his brother who betrayed him by saving himself. The concept of Dean's character makes me insane, especially when you contrast his hyper-masculine persona with the deeply hurt man he is on the inside. But also like! Early seasons Sam makes me crazy! He made it out! But he was marked by fate from his birth — early seasons Sam is a tragic hero — every choice he made was a fallacy, because the fates had doled out his lot before he was born. If they had really leaned into the doomed seer angle à la Kassandra in the Agamemnon, able to forsee destruction but not able to prevent it, bearing the weight of extra-human knowledge...plus! The fact that he has to grapple with the idea that he isn't entirely human and is 'stained' by blood from an event which culminated in the death of his mother, blood-guilt and furies, fate and prophecy, what they needed was someone who was rabidly into greek tragedy on the writers' team and Sam would have been the best character on the show (it's Dean though).
Anyway I feel like I've shamed myself enough so I won't go on, but unfortunately the brain worms are such that I don't agree that the show should have ended at s5 bc I have loving Castiel disease & I actually like his later season arcs, the brain rot is chronic alas

I liked the Wyatt is evil, because this dude is literally invincible and his family helps people that we have proof would turn on them at any given chance, and everyone he knows suffers from this duty (and his aunts hate magic a lot around him), and even the people on the “good” side are awful (elders) so of course he went fuck it I’m protecting them but then we find out it’s because some elder took him when he was one, and then nothing else.
honestly i can’t say i agree wyatt being evil is like a nice plot twist esp with the whole chris thing but like you know. really our root our tether to the story is like piper (& phoebe & paige) like to us wyatt isn’t wyatt, he’s piper’s son, especially bc the pregnancy was a big deal and the birth was a big deal and then like as a baby wyatt’s still a big deal like chris can be a character bc he’s like an adult with his own agenda and motivations and personality but wyatt to us is almost solely an extension of piper & leo. and like, god do we root for piper and leo. in s1 you’re like omg how cute in s2 you’re like ew why is dan still here Can We Bring Leo Back Now in s3 they finally get married!! in s4 in s5 in s6 etc. like they are made out to be like true love like soulmates the epitome of all things good & wyatt is the product of that. and once again i’m taking nature vs nurture bc i have never taken a psych class and this is literally all i know about child psychology but if we look at the nature side both piper and leo are these great forces of good known for their capacity to care patty tells piper you’re the heart of this family leo was literally such a good person they made him an angel like you are not starting out tabula rasa here you are starting out bent on good And Then over to nurture they love wyatt and you know they’d try their best to raise him and they really really wanted a kid and they had wyatt like i get what you’re saying about the charmed ones’ complex relationship with magic and also the elders are dickwads but it’s like. at worst i think he’d be like piper where he’d just tell the elders to go fuck off and would try to live a relatively normal life but i don’t think any of him would be geared towards evil. i think you know there are maybe some conditions that yield an evil wyatt (e.g. being endlessly tortured while a grown man and beacon of good tries to kill you for years) but i think in general he really is raised & also genetically predisposed if u believe in that to see the good. when piper’s at her lowest and is like fuck it the source can do whatever he wants i just want to be left alone i want no part in this game she still isn’t evil. at worst i think we get an insanely apathetically wyatt who no longer believes in the good in the world, but i don’t think he would be one who ever seeks out destruction bc like That’s Not The Vibe y’know. like okay clearly some situations might yield that but like in general if you you know like don’t believe in the loyalties of others due to frequent betrayals and you see the harm magic has done and the paragons of good magic are all assholes, would your conclusion really be okay this blows, time to make it worse? or would it be like y’know what fuck you don’t call me i’m out. but even to reach an apathetic wyatt roaming the world unfeeling like some old god i think we still have to sprinkle in a health dose of trauma to reach that state. i think in the strong majority of realities, wyatt sits firmly in good.

for the Mc asks 9 and 10 (ノ^ヮ^)ノ*:・゚✧
9. Family personal dynamics
It's the 80s Britain, are they typical for their group or do they go against the grain?
Tumblr media
I would say they go against the grain, but I don't really know. They have a very long history of being knights and nobles. They're Pure- bloods but they don't act highly or suppressive. They more humble than they seem. Less the 80s, they resemble more a Victorian family in term of fashion and ect. Uriels family has many traditions and secrets, but her parents think children should live peacefully and freely without worrying about their status or duties as future heirs/heiress. They live the life of nobles but with the attitude of an ordinary person.
Are parents important for your mc?
Tumblr media
They very important for Uriel. After turning into an obscurial and the summer incident at her grandparents residence, she became soulless and bitter. It's only thanks to the love of her family, that she slowly recovered from being an obscurial, even if it took more than 10 years. Uriel admires her parents they both strong and wise. Especially her father. He thought her how to fight with a sword, so she can protect herself in case of danger. In comparison to her mother, her father isn't very overprotective of Uriel because he knows that she is strong and trust her.
How do they deal with Jacob debacle?
When they learned about Jacob's disappearance, her mother cried for days before accepting the truth. Her father didn't show many emotions but Uriel knew by the way he acted, that he was heartbroken, too. They both do their best to find him with the help of their connections around the world. They don't only want to find him because he is their son but also to stop Uriel from searching the vaults, so she won't get hurt, too. The other reason is to bring Max back. It's not like he left them but he started to travel a lot, not only because he is a photographer but also to find Jacob on the way. He asks many people he met, if they saw this boy but until now he wasn't successful.
Any eccentric family members?
The whole Nightclaw family is eccentric, like really. I already mentioned it but the Nightclaw family has many secrets and treasures. And know what? They keep these secrets and treasures in a floating tower. Crazy, right? But it gets more crazier.
Tumblr media
The floating tower is surrounded by enormous mountains, so it's hard to notice it at first. It's unknown who build it or when but it keeps track since Ulric Whiteclaws death. It floats thanks to the magical stone on the tip of the tower. Around the tower, there are the three sisters statues: Bast, Neith, Tellervo.
The only one who can go over the bridge is only the holder of the Nightclaw blood, this means only family members can pass it. If an outsider tries to even make a step in direction of the gate, then a Manticore will try to kill them or they will fall into their death. One way or the other, they won't leave alive.
Inside the tower it's like a big library with many different rooms and books, as well as treasures and heirlooms.
Tumblr media
The core of the tower is the gigantic dragon maiden (upper right), Naimmi, who is bound to the tree of truth. She controls everything that goes on in the tower. The rooms and everything else in the tower is patrolled and protected by the Wyrm guards (bottom left). Jamos (upper left) is responsible for the memories and rooms for each Nightclaw. He also controls the Manticore and the wyrm guards. The three silent brothers are keeping the sword of Ulric safe and the last bit of blood of the Dragon Dragoon. To make a pact with the dragon, like Ulric did, you have to drink their blood and make an oath. That's why they keep it safe. Only the most important and valuable things are kept safe by the three silent brothers.
But if we look at Uriels parents in details you will see that they're very special themselves. Uriels mother can use spells without actually speaking them, which was passed on to Uriel and Max. Jacob can't do it, but for that he is a legilimens like his father. The Moonfalls are known for their eternal youth. Briar is already in here late forties but looks like thirty. In comparison the Nightclaws are known for their inhuman strength and magical power. Jacob got immense magical power, while Max has the inhuman strength. Uriel has both. The same goes to other family members. Each one is special in their way.
International ties?
They are longtime allies and friends with the Chinese family Chen. It dates back to Ulrics time. The past King wanted to make a contract with the influential and wealthy Chinese Pirate Chen Bao, who was known as the emperor of the Oceans. In case of an upcoming war, he wanted to have him as an ally. But when Bao arrived, he sensed Ulrics immense power and was tempted to fight him. He gave the promise, that if Ulric wins, he will sign the contract but if Bao wins, Ulric shall give his little finger as a trophy. It is said that the fight lasted 100 days but to confirm it, there is insufficient evidence.
Tumblr media
In the end Ulric won and Bao signed the contract. But what was unexpected is, that Bao swore his true loyalty to Ulric alone. He was impressed with Ulrics strength and developed respect for him. They both made later on a blood pact, which was never broken. Since then both families share a deep relationship with each other. With Uriels birth, they decided to continue their ancestors legacy and introduced her to their son Chen Jing, when Uriel turned 9.
Tumblr media
(Left: Jing at 17/upper right: Uriel and Jing at 9 years old/ bottom right: blood vial)
They started of rocky at first but after they ran away from the ballroom because they were both bored, they quickly befriended each other. When Jing came to Hogwarts for one year at the age of 17, he and Uriel decided to make a blood pact like their ancestors, too. They were sure that they could trust each other.
The symbol of the Chen family is a Phoenix.
10. The family vs the others
Are they part of any community, do they have any support re:Jacob ?
They not part of any community because the Nightclaws are a secretive family. But they do have connections all over the world, so they get lots of help from others.
How do you imagine them to be seen by others?
The Nightclaw family is a famous one, especially for their knight history. Everyone treats them with respect and fearfulness. Their strength is all over the place known. But under their respectful survey they actually think that this family is crazy. Under the people their called "those who are born to kill". This implies to one point of the history, where Ulric fought against 1000 enemies single handed in a fit of rage and won.
But those who learn their kindness and earns their trust, can be sure to have won an ally for a lifetime.
I hope I answered them right and thank you for asking 🙈❤

True Happiness
Pairing Castiel x reader
@castielspnbingo – square filled: happiness
@spnabobingo – square filled: nesting
Final word count: 791 words
Warnings: fluffy stuff, mild mentions of smutty stuff, nothing really dramatic
Summary: Cas may have found the true meaning of happiness. Does it get any better than this?
Tumblr media
Cas found himself humming, he’d been doing that a lot lately, ever since YN had become his mate. Angels, as celestial beings weren’t usually bothered by the dynamics humans lived by, nor did they have Alpha, Beta, Omega categories.  They weren’t human, plain and simple. They didn’t need food or sleep, and they didn’t allow themselves to ‘feel’. Being emotionally detached made their duties easier.
But now that Angels were almost non-existent, and now that he was ‘adopted’ into the Winchester family, he thought of himself as more human than Angel. He hung out with them more than with his own kind now, and truth be told, he loved everything about this life, and all the people that came with it.
Then came YN.
She joined up with them about 5 years ago, and had proven her loyalty and her friendship many times over. When they discovered she was a Nephilim, there was some attitude adjustments, but the trust remained. YN hadn’t known she was part angel. Cas scanned her memories but couldn’t trace her parentage. All he knew for sure was whoever or whatever she came from, she held power very similar to Jack, and that was saying a lot.
Life at the bunker pretty much stayed normal, or their version of normal, except Cas found himself falling in love with YN. She was beautiful, strong, and made him feel like a normal human being. She was Omega, and the body that Cas inhabited, Jimmy Novak, had been Alpha. But this was more than just the dynamics. Her personality was infectious, everyone was affected by her bubbly laughter and witty charm. Even Dean admitted he enjoyed having her around, and was glad they hadn’t thrown her off the team.
Cas and YN officially mated two years after her first appearance in their lives. Overwhelmed after a hunt, YN had gone into heat, spurred on by adrenaline and by the angel’s presence. He was alone with her when the scent hit him, his mind conflicted as he struggled with his Angel nature vs his host’s Alpha nature. But his feelings for prevailed and, with her consent, mated and claimed her.
Since then his entire outlook on life has completely changed. Love has allowed him to feel like a real person, like he can do anything. Both Sam and Dean have mentioned the change, and how much they like it. Being around YN, both in the bedroom and out, enjoying her company, hunting with her…he just can’t imagine it gets any better than this.
Then she got sick.
He doesn’t understand how or why. Because she is part Angel, she shouldn’t even get sick. Even more strange is the fact that it seems to go away by the afternoon, only to re-surface the following day.
It isn’t until he walks in to their room, and sees her arranging pillows and bedding that he finally connects the dots.
YN is pregnant! Castiel is going to be a father!
She sees him at the doorway and invites him to sit in the nest with her. He crawls in minus his shoes and trench coat, settling amidst the blankets and cushions, then reaches for her and places a kiss on the top of her head once she settles in next to him.
“Why didn’t you tell me YN?” he asks. His mind pushes millions of reasons, most circling around her not loving him anymore, or worse, not wanting the child.
YN snuggles against his chest, and he instinctively wraps his arms around her, smiling when she emits a contented sigh. “Cas, I was going to tell you, honest. I still love you, and hold nothing but the utmost joy about the baby. I was trying to research whether or not I’d survive the birth. There isn’t a lot of lore on pregnant Nephilim, but everything I did find suggests I will live. So…surprise? We’re going to have a baby!”
A loud ‘Whoop’ echoed through the bunker, and Cas is suddenly hopping off the bed and sweeping YN into his arms, overcome with something akin to euphoria. Never, in all the many millennia he’s been in existence, has he known this much happiness.
The rest of the bunker’s inhabitants come running, not sure of what had happened. One look at Cas and YN, then at the nest, tells Dean, Sam, Mary and Jack all they need to know. They join the celebration, all thrilled to welcome the new addition.

~Henry VII: More Myth than Man - The Red Dragon's Odyssey~
“He was comely personage, a little above just stature, well and straight-limbed, but slender. His countenance was revered, and a little like a churchman, and as it was not strange or dark so neither was it winning or pleasing, but as the face of one well disposed. But it was to the disadvantage of the painter, for it was best when he spoke.” (Francis Bacon) Although written a century after his death, Francis Bacon’s description of the first Tudor King, is right on the spot. Linda Porter for her part, says the following in her book "Tudors vs Stewarts": “[He was] A considered person, not given to great public displays of emotion, somewhat ascetic in appearance, not exactly handsome but with an interesting and by no means unattractive face, the whole man only at his most appealing when he was animated. His portraits show that he did, indeed, have something of the churchman about him: a calm and also inscrutability, a sense that you would never entirely know that he was thinking. It gave him an air of authority.” Henry was formerly the Earl of Richmond, a title he inherited before his birth from his late father, Edmund Tudor, half-brother to the last Lancastrian King, Henry VI. Henry was named after his half-uncle and after he and his direct family died, he went into exile where he spent thirteen years as an 'honored guest' of the Duke of Brittany, Francis II, before spending his fourteenth year in France. The French King and his influential sister, Anne of Brittany, gave Henry funds and men for his campaign against the "usurper", King Richard III. After the Battle of Bosworth, he became King of England. According to one legend, one of his men found the crown lying in a thornbush near the slain Richard III. Some early Tudor motifs depict this, making this legend a popular truth in the minds of his future subjects who grew up knowing nothing else but the version of events that Henry and his descendants gave them. Archaeological evidence puts to the test some of the claims made by both parties. In his book "Bosworth", Michale Jones, says that most of what the Tudor chroniclers wrote must not be taken at face value since they were written after the outcome of the battle, nonetheless, he does give credence to some contemporary accounts as they corroborate medieval attitudes. Henry was 28 when he was crowned King of England and Lord of Ireland. Three years older than his granddaughter and last monarch of his dynasty, Elizabeth I, and like her and his other granddaughter, he had already experienced a lot. Aside from his exile, he had escaped assassination and kidnapping attempts from his late father-in-law, Edward IV. At a young age, he learned to trust no one and rely on his wits and those closest to him and blood. He was well-aware of the fact that without his uncle Jasper and mother, he would have never made it this far. He showed his gratitude by giving them titles, lands and positions that made them two of the richest and most influential peers in England. While his wife was not a political figure like many of her predecessors, she remained a constant figure in his life. He and Elizabeth loved and respected one another and as they swore to do on their wedding day, they were there for each other in sickness and in health. When they lost their firstborn and eldest son, Prince Arthur, Elizabeth of York was the first one to comfort Henry, reminding him of their duty and their youth -that they still had more years ahead of them and could still give the House of Tudor one more heir- and afterwards, Henry did the same for her. Henry showed a deep appreciation for the land of his birth, Wales, rewarding all of his Welsh commanders and creating new posts for some of them, as well as using the symbol of their flag as part of his royal coat of arms. To this day, the red dragon that represents Cadwalldr and in the Tudor years, came to be associated with the new dynasty, is still the symbol of Wales. To avoid another recession or economic collapse, Henry continued (albeit improving them) Edward IV's economic policies. Today we often hear about social scientists stressing on employers to make sure that they are in a good place (mentally), otherwise, their decisions could affect the well-being of their employees as well as themselves. This could not be truer for Henry VII. While his successes are commendable; sadly, they are overshadowed by the last years of his reign. Thomas Penn heavily focuses on these last years in his book "The Winter King" and in his documentary of the same name. He lists how Henry became more paranoid and closeted himself from the outside world, coming out only for special occasions. This was due to his personal losses. By 1503, he had lost his uncle, eldest son, wife and baby daughter and was soon to lose his eldest and favorite daughter, Margaret. Named after his mother -whose counsel he still valued-, Henry was close to his eldest daughter but like every royal father, he was well aware that if he wanted the peace between England and Scotland to remain (something that few other English kings achieved) he had to do this small sacrifice. Princess Margaret knew what her duty was and was ready to fulfill her royal obligations. In mid 1503, a few months after her mother died, Margaret left England. Months later she arrived to Scotland where she married King James IV, becoming Queen Consort of Scotland. Although Henry never saw his daughter again, the two remained close. Distance could not sever their bond anymore than Henry's lament for his dead ones could. The two continued to write to each other until Henry's dying breath in 1509, six years later. This affectionate persona is often dismissed by writers, because it detracts readers from focusing on the negative aspects they present them with to prove their case that Henry was a tyrant, or, that if he didn't start as one, he surely became one. But was he a tyrant? What is the truth behind the fiction? Towards the end of his life, Henry did become paranoid and he did enact policies that bled his country dry; but as it's been pointed out, this was due to the effect his personal losses had on him as well as the threats that still lingered abroad. Though he had rid himself of most Yorkists, including their puppets; there were still some out there whom he feared would be used against him in the same manner as he had been used against Richard III. And unlike his predecessors, including the king he deposed, Henry's claim was tenuous and his successes weren't enough to convince anyone of the validity of his claim, or the legitimacy of his offspring who were the embodiment of York and Lancaster. This made Henry uneasy and with only one male heir and no spare, Henry became increasingly cautious, seeing enemies everywhere. He was determined to safeguard what remained of his family and protect his only remaining son. By the time he died, the crown was wealthier than it had been in decades. His son, also named Henry, ascended to the throne as a seventeen year old and was crowned months later when he became eighteen. Henry VIII honored his father's legacy, reminding everyone of his father's victory, his parents' union, and the product of the union: Himself, as the living embodiment of their dream. The perfect union of Lancaster and York from which sprung a new hope who'd brought to England a golden age. And while some did dispute this, most were wise not to say a word unless they wanted to risk their heads at the chopping block or be accused as heretics by His Majesty's inquisitors. But, concerned with his own legacy, Henry VIII also delivered some clever jabs at his father. In the famous Tudor Dynasty portrait, both Henrys lean next to a pillar with their respective wives -Jane Seymour and Elizabeth of York- at the opposite side, that reads that while Henry VII was amazing, his son was more amazing because he separated from the church -thus freeing England from its shackles that bound it to Rome- and made himself pope, making the authority of a monarch absolute which was more than his father could have ever dreamed of. Henry VIII was certainly important and by many people's standards, a legend, but so was his father. His father should have never been King of England and yet he became one. Without him, there would have been no Tudors or strong king who would've gotten away with breaking away from Rome and making himself Head of his new Church.* To loosely quote Chris Skidmore from his book "Bosworth", the odds were stacked against him and he still kept advancing until he reached his ultimate goal and exceeded everyone's expectations. The end result was a mixture of luck, good timing, bad weather, indecision and bad choices on the part of his enemy. On the 30th of October 1485, Henry Tudor was crowned King of England. Months later he married the beautiful Elizabeth of the House of York whom he had re-legitimized by legitimizing her parents' union that Richard III through parliament had declared unlawful. While his last name died off with his granddaughter, his dream of seeing his dynasty overshadow all others came true. Controversy, success, among all other things, are what continue to make the Tudors one of the most interesting figures in history. *It was Henry VII's actions to eliminate private liveries that allowed for this. Henry had seen how easy it was for nobles to assemble an army. The Plantagents tried to do this but had little success. They had to keep their nobles content in order to avoid revolt, while others who were less eager to play the role of gracious hosts to them had to keep constant vigilance by placing spies on their households. Henry VII also increased the number of spies and required more tests of loyalty from his noble subjects which his successors, including his grandchildren, imitated, to ensure that no noble would ever overthrow them. This is one of the many reasons why ALL the Tudor Kings and Queen died in their beds instead of the battlefield or poisoned. so i know i got that one info post with basic descriptions, but i figured that here, i’d go a bit more into detail about the various groups and what they’re doing in the fantasy au
Sakako + Dorothea + Kokichi & D.I.C.E. (+ Verny also technically)
Sakako’s been a member of D.I.C.E. (or “The Trickster’s Outcasts”, as they’re known to the general public) ever since it was formed, and as in the normal verse, is Kokichi’s second in command.
During one raid, where they were to steal a dangerous magical item from the royal family of Elizaveta (they had no idea the item was dangerous, but the group had gotten word of someone in the castle who DID know, and who intended to use it for malicious purposes), Sakako had disguised herself and gone in to keep an eye on stuff. This was how she met Dorothea, the third child of the royal family, and though she quickly found out Sakako’s true intentions, after hearing her explanation, she agreed to stay quiet.
The two bonded for a while, and eventually, Dorothea opened up about her desire to leave. She’d been in the castle all her life, basically, and even when she went to other kingdoms, she barely got any time to explore and observe them. But her parents, and even her own retainer, were adamant about her staying safely in the castle.
On the day that the group acted out their theft, Sakako made one last stop in Dorothea’s room...to offer up a spot on the team, willing to take her wherever she wished to go. The princess took up this offer immediately, and left with Sakako and the rest of D.I.C.E..
Of course, this didn’t go without notice. The whole family was distraught, as was Verny, Dorothea’s retainer and childhood friend. Convinced that the thieves had kidnapped her and planned to do horrible things to her, he too left the castle, to search out Dorothea and return her home.
Saiba + Yurasu + Sonisoru
The southern kingdom of Inraidou is fairly small, but still well known. They have high-quality fruit crops, and a strong military force, led by High Marshal Sonisoru Aritayaki.
Of course, that isn’t his true last name. Not anymore, anyway. Sonisoru is, in truth, the first born son of Grand Duchess Nori Inritsu, and her ex-husband, Majuro Aritayaki, who abandoned the kingdom for unknown reasons. Soon after, Nori remarried to a young noble man named Shigure Inritsu, and with him gave birth to her second son, Saiba, who is set to inherit the throne after Sonisoru denied the position, both due to his duty in the military, and his growing relationship with a young dancer woman named Yurasu, who was a popular performer at the capital’s theatre. He kept his old last name, too, as a reminder to never be like the other one who held it...and for something else...
Eventually, though, it was discovered that Majuro has been plotting against the royal family, and left in order to continue work on his plans in secret. With hesitance but understanding, Nori brought together her beloved sons and the one she considered a daughter. Under her command, they left Inraidou, and began traveling under the guise of being a traveling performance and mercenary troupe, in order to find Majuro and stop whatever his plans may be. Due to the secretiveness of their mission, the three almost never give out their surnames, just to be safe.
Hari + Kegawa + Hasu
Hari was born in a town of style and bright colors. She was lucky enough to be chosen at a young age to be the apprentice to a cloth mage, who taught her how to weave spells into cloth, and eventually, into outfits. After years of perfecting her craft, Hari left her town in order to bring her items to people all over the world.
Kegawa, a young natural-born werewolf who used a special artifact to control his transformations, lived with his pack in a cave in a dark forest...one that Hari happened to pass through on her way to a certain city. The night they met was cold and stormy, and in exchange for staying the night in their cave, she made special cloaks for them. See, this pack deeply sought to observe the outside world, but were ostracized for their inhuman features. These cloaks, however, had spells that allowed them to hide those features for as long as they wore them. Beginning to bond with this kind woman, Kegawa chose to accompany her, rather than go with his pack on their journey.
In another forest, one that was much brighter and sat next to a certain sea village, lived Hasu, a young elf who spent her days studying nature magic. When her home was threatened by a wild creature whose rampage caused a fire, Hari and Kegawa stepped in to aid in saving it. Hasu began traveling with them afterwards, wishing to repay them, to also see plants and flowers from all over the world...and to seek out and reunite with a certain friend.
Kurin VS Kadora
Kurin is the Knight Commander of the northern kingdom of Blomenberg, which sits right next to Elizaveta. While her stoic and stern nature may make her seem a bit scary, her loyalty to her country shines brighter than anyone else. She’s considered to be one of the strongest commanders in the country’s history, in fact.
Which is good, seeing as they’re dealing with a little problem right now regarding a certain thief. Kadora is known as the Rabbit-Eared Phantom (though she prefers being called a bunny), and steals valuables from all over the place, using her own skills and the many stuffed bunnies she’s used magic to animate and control.
This manmade group of thieves and the army of Blomenberg have been at odds for a while now, and the animosity between Kadora and Kurin in particular is at an all-time high. When one spots the two somewhere in the same place, a fight is certain to follow.
Ureshi + Kobashi
These two grew up together in a small town, Ureshi’s family running a bakery and Kobashi’s running a dual sweets-and-potions shop. The boys have been close friends since childhood, so it wasn’t much of a surprise when they eventually told their families that they were in a relationship.
What did surprise them was the two asking permission to go on a journey together. Ureshi wanted to help those around the world who had no food readily available, and Kobashi wanted to both aid him and also perfect his chocolate and potion making skills. With their families’ blessings, the two packed their bags, then set forth out into the world.
They go anywhere and everywhere they can, aiding people in need along the way. Ureshi sells his baking to help get them funds, but is also willing to give free food to people who truly need it. Kobashi practices his own skills as much as possible, and both sells his wares, and keeps some around for other uses.
Seiun + Nijiko + Dekai
Seiun was born in a very unique town. The people who lived there worship the sun, moon, and stars as deities, and it was said that those born with golden eyes or white hair were said to be able to speak with the sun and moon respectively, and receive prophecies of the future. So, imagine a certain couple’s surprise when their own child ends up with both, able to speak with both celestial bodies, as well as the stars. Seiun’s fate was set the moment he came into the world: he would become a Great Celestial Seer, a person meant to communicate with the celestial bodies, and deliver their prophecies unto the world.
Dekai was born in a village by the sea, of a tribe that has close bonds with sea spirits, and practically all the beings within the vast ocean. He trained to be an Ocean Guardian his whole life, and just days after he officially received his title, he was called upon by the town that worshiped the stars. Their Great Celestial Seer was to travel the world soon, and needed a guard. Nobody in that town was both versed in combat and readily available to leave the place for long periods of time, so they asked the village for one of their guardians, and Dekai was the one chosen. He agreed to this task, wanting to perfect his skills.
Nijiko, meanwhile, was once a simple artist in a city of creators. Well, not ‘simple’, truly. She was of a family with the unique power to bring their creations to life, as long as they willed them to do so, and could complete said creation fully. When Seiun and Dekai passed through this city, a sudden proclamation from the stars helped prevent a travesty that could have resulted in her family losing that special power. Wanting to repay them for this, she chose to become a second guardian to Seiun...not really giving him a chance to decline (though he didn’t mind, really).

However, the trials of war and restoration alongside her husband made her see through the damaged and marred exterior.
What does your muse find endearing personality wise?: Loyalty, respect to personal and title image & willingness to do what needs to be done.
What is the stupidest/illogical thing your muse has done and why did they do it?: Don't even get me started.

Home Is Where the Heart Is
Fandom: Star Wars sequel trilogy
Finn appreciation week 2018 - day 4 (Apr 12): home
Warnings: 1 very short scene at the beginning that is about Finn being taken by the First Order, some snippets of Finn’s life in the First Order in the 1st half of the fic, and also recounts the Finn vs Kylo Ren lightsabre duel in The Force Awakens. I tried to write these scenes with as few graphical descriptions as possible, but I’m tagging warnings for kidnapping, violence and injury just in case.
If there’s anything else you need me to tag for, please let me know.
Rating: teen and up
Genre: friendship and family
Word count: 3562
Remarks: I'm rather captivated by the idea of Finn chipping away the necessary walls he has built around pre-stormtrooper memories for surviving within the First Order, and re-learning his freedom for expressing emotions and affection to connect with his newfound family.
Who let Finn wander around by himself on an unfamiliar ship freshly woken up from a coma? And how did he manage to stagger past the hangar at the same time Poe saw him? That's too coincidental, I have so many questions.
---
One of the earliest memories that Finn has, is being hugged tightly as a young child. The hug was warm, like a cookie fresh out of oven.
Then, a voice, presumably his father's, urged him to run and hide in the nearby cave until they go find him.
He ran as fast as he could on his short stubby legs, but was lifted off the ground by strong arms. He tried to kick himself free, but all he managed was a grunt from his captor, who must had given him an anaesthetic patch as he had no recollection of the following events.
---
The next thing Finn remembers, is waking up groggily in a hall with dozens of children, all around the same age as him.
People in white armours and helmets slowly patrolled up and down their lines; the children, seeing the blasters in their hands, wisely stayed quiet. A man in a funny hat, dark tunic and knee-high boots went up on stage, talking about restoring order to the galaxy and loyalty to the First Order. Finn did not recall hearing about the First Order until now, and wondered when his father would come get him.
When the man on stage finished, a child a few rows away asked hesitantly, 'Where're Papa and Mama?' The voice rang through the quiet room.
The man searched through the room until his gaze landed on the child. He replied indifferently, 'From this day onwards, you will not have parents, but only comrades. The First Order is where you belong.'
Order, comrades, loyalty. What big words. Finn did not understand them, nor did the child who asked for their parents either, as they repeated in confusion, 'Mama? Mama?'
The man on stage gave a single sharp nod to one of the armour-clad, who reached the child right at that moment. The armour-clad pressed a patch to the back of their neck; the child soon crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
None of the remaining children spoke up afterwards.
---
Finn was remarkably calm during the first month. Although, the time was spent on memorising their designation numbers, easing into prescribed routines, and working on classes and duties, so he did not have a significant reason not to be. The supervisors for his batch seemed to have experience in training recruits during their first weeks, so punishments were just heavy enough to keep them in line without being too harsh. Extra laundry folding duties here, vacuuming duties there, or meal bans if a more severe punishment was needed. All of this, Finn could manage.
However, he could not quite comprehend the coldness, or rather, lack of warmth projected by any supervisor. Although there would be rare praises of 'Good.' or similar variants, none of them smiled when he or his batch mates did things correctly. He had come to the conclusion that success was expected.
On the last evening of the first month, a supervisor gave a short speech congratulating the batch on making pass a month. She then stressed their loyalty to the First Order, now their official family.
That night, after his batch mates had dozed off, Finn muffled his face in the pillow and quietly sniffled for the home he was taken from.
---
The initiates quickly learnt to hide how much they missed their real homes, for whenever supervisors caught wind of it, additional loyalty lessons would be scheduled.
It was only when they prepare for bed and no supervisor would be present, that they had relative privacy to talk about home. Finn was sure every one of them dreamt about home. They would trade stories, some of which were exaggerated in childish imagination.
Finn shared a few stories of his own, though he could not differentiate between memory and wishful imagination.
---
The cadets did not find out how severely they were discouraged from thinking about their birth families, until rotated training with a newer batch of trainees.
This particular introductory exercise was about the priority of mission completion. Finn, finding it easy to deduce expected actions of the trainees, did not struggle with the exercise. He completed the mission quickly and then sat down to watch the other trainees going through the scenario, with the stimulation projected onto a screen in the waiting room.
A young initiate from the newer batch was next. He made good progress until the last hurdle, where he froze.
On the projected screen, a middle-aged woman with red hair gathered into a bun kneeled on the ground, in front of an astronomical map marked with trade routes and schedules of the New Republic. That must mean the cadet had red hair, as the simulated woman was designed to resemble them.
He slowly raised his blaster with shaking hands.
She pleaded with tears in her eyes, 'Don't you remember your mama? My baby, what have they done to you?'
'Mama?' he attempted, the word foreign to his tongue.
'Yes, it's me. Don't you remember how I tucked you in every night? Come here, give your mama a hug.' she opened her arms cautiously.
The blaster paused in mid-air. Then, the cadet lowered it and walked to the woman. 'I miss you so much, Mama.'
The simulation ended immediately, with harsh white lights turning up to regular brightness. The supervisor for this exercise stepped out from the control room and addressed the trainee. 'FR-3056, were you clear on your mission?'
'Yes, Ma'am.'
'Summarise the mission.'
'Yes, Ma'am. The mission is to extract the map with trade information of the New Republic. Get rid of enemies protecting the map as needed.'
'Exactly. And yet, you chose not to continue your mission. Why?'
'Sorry, Ma'am, I could not kill my mother.'
'So, your personal interest interferes with the mission.' she stated with a blank expression.
Every cadet held their breath, waiting for her decision. Finn felt a sudden chill racing down his spine, even though the room, like every part of the starship, was temperature controlled.
The supervisor consulted her datapad, then continued, 'FR-3056, this is your second incident. Report for recondition tomorrow.'
When Finn saw FR-3056 again in the next training session 1 week later, the trainee fired his blaster at the red-haired woman without a flicker of recognition in his eyes.
The cadets whispered about FR-3056, and stopped talking about the homes they never knew.
---
Eventually, Finn rarely allowed himself to dwell on the voice from his memory. He told himself that, it was because there simply was no time between all the classes and duties when he had the luxury of not being too bone-tired to think for himself.
Deep down, he knew it was only part of the truth.
He had not thought of the voice in a long time, because pretending a home had never existed for him was less painful than knowing he had one but then lost it.
---
Years later, on Finn's second real-world mission, Jakku happened.
He looked into the eyes of scared villagers, young and old. The fact that they were humans, very much alive, struck him. This was not a simulation anymore; if he pulled the trigger, these families would be torn apart.
Around him, his squadmates shot left and right without hesitation.
He had always felt like an outsider among them even when he acted like a model trooper. Now, he refused to fit in. He would not kill for the Order; it would never be where he belonged.
It had never been a 'family' since the beginning.
He lowered his blaster and mentally prepared for an opening to slip away.
---
The Resistance pilot was on his knees before the warrior of the dark side. Finn could not hear their exchange from his position halfway across the squad, but he could see the 2 troopers who searched him brought him onto the ship back to base.
Finn had heard about interrogation methods, he hoped the pilot would not suffer too much at Ren's hand.
He must have projected the thought, for Ren abruptly spun to stare at him. He squared his shoulders and trotted nervously behind his leaving squad, feeling Ren's eyes on him the whole time.
Back at the base, Captain Phasma requested him to submit his blaster for inspection. Waiting for a subtle opening to run away was no longer an option, he had to make one himself.
He gave himself a quick pep talk and marched through the interrogation wing to the imprisoned pilot.
The Force was on his side. He bluffed past the trooper guarding the pilot and took him out of the cell. 'This is a rescue. I'm helping you escape. Can you fly a TIE fighter?'
'I can fly anything.' the pilot smirked. 'I'm Poe. Poe Dameron. What’s your name?'
---
Why did Poe want to go to Jakku again? Oh right, he had to get back some map. Unfortunately, they crashed and Poe was nowhere to be found, his leather jacket the only proof he had escaped with Finn.
Finn hated the planet; all he could see was sand all over the horizon and the blinding sun. The scorching heat drained him quickly; his mouth was dry and his bodysuit was drenched in sweat. He was convinced Jakku was determined to snuff out his existence before he could enjoy his newfound freedom.
When he met the scavenger girl after walking for the whole morning, he had just lost the first person who was kind to him in years (no, don't think of the pilot; losing his first friend - if he can count him as a friend - kriffing hurts). It must be the galaxy sending him a note not to open himself up to another person.
With the scavenger, came a droid. One assumption led to another; before he knew it, he was caught up in the girl's plan to reunite the droid with its owner. And then, he tripped and fell down. She ran to him, offering a hand to help him up. He stared at the outstretched hand like a simulation he could not figure out; surely, she was not really offering? If there was one thing Phasma partially succeeded in drilling into his head, it was that strength is only as strong as the weakest link. That was not wrong from the point of view of an army, though he refused to believe it was the whole truth.
Warily, he looked into Rey's eyes but only found sincerity. Maybe, she was like him, refusing to stop helping others even though a lifetime of teaching had taught him otherwise. He decided to take a leap of faith and took her hand.
He was pulled up and running alongside her and the droid.
This time, he was determined not to lose his new friend.
---
He had failed Rey.
After confessing to her about defecting from the First Order because he did not want to kill innocents, she was initially mad at him for hiding his former involvement with the Order. However, once she calmed down, she forgave him.
He noticed her following Solo around like a lost puppy. He had asked if she knew Solo; she replied no, but he felt familiar. She wished she knew if her father was like him. When Finn gave her a puzzled look, she looked down at the engine she was fixing and explained that she was left on Jakku as a child, with only blurred memories of the people who walked away from her while she cried for them to come back.
Rey had no family, just like Finn. He felt a surge of protectiveness; how dare those people willingly leave a defenceless child behind to fend for herself?
And right when he felt he had known her for his whole life, she was abducted. By Kylo Ren, the First Order's resident ill-tempered dark warrior, no less.
He vowed to get her back, the Order would not take away another friend from him.
---
It turned out Finn had not lost his first friend after all.
As the Millennium Falcon landed on the Resistance base, he looked out of the cockpit to see the ground bustling with activity. Pilots in orange flight suit talked with mechanics in earth brown overalls and droids. In the distance, officers and crews hurried into and out of the compound. Solo directed Finn and BB-8 to go ahead into the compound, while he and Chewie shut down the Falcon.
Strolling down the stretch of the runway taking in the base, Finn saw a pilot climbing down the side of a black painted X-wing. BB-8 knocked into the back of his knees and sped towards the starship with a series of excited beeps and whirls. The pilot talked to a mechanic while taking off their helmet, revealing a wave of black hair. Then, they turned towards BB-8 and a familiar airy voice carried over.
No, it couldn't be! Finn made himself blink once, twice, and was elated to find his eyes and brain were functioning properly.
His feet started running on their own accord. Before his very eyes, Poe stood up from talking to the droid, a wide grin breaking out on his face upon locating him. Poe stepped forward and rushed to meet him halfway, tackling him in a bone-crushing hug. Finn only hesitated for a fraction of a second before hugging back just as fiercely.
If all hugs felt as peaceful and safe as this one, maybe he could get used to them.
---
When Finn told Poe about Rey, who saved BB-8 first, and her subsequent kidnapping, Poe took him to General Organa directly. Unlike First Order officers, she was understanding and sympathetic, readily agreeing to help upon learning the Order's involvement. Finn offered whatever knowledge he had about Starkiller Base and everything else needed. In a short time, a planned mission was approved for the next day. They would soon be off to rescue Rey and stop the planetary weapon.
That night, Finn started awake in a cold sweat and could not manage to get back to sleep. His quarters for the night had no window, too similar to First Order-issued bunks for his liking. He put on Poe's jacket - no, his now - and slid silently out of the room.
Not wanting to get lost around the interconnecting corridors, he pressed onwards to the few zones he was introduced to during the day. His feet took him to a bench right outside the command centre, where they discussed out the mission plan earlier in the day.
Needless to say, he was surprised to find the General seated at a desk near the entrance, still up alongside the night shift officers.
General Organa looked up from the pile of charts she was studying. Not used to friendly interactions with officers, he greeted her and pass it off as simply walking past the centre on a stroll.
'Finn,' she halted him with a tired smile, catching up to tell him 'good work' for proposals on how to destroy the Starkiller. She then reminded him to try and rest enough for the mission while on the Falcon.
'Rey would be back before we know it.' she reached up and patted his arm.
Finn tried not to think about how much of an open book he must be for her to read, idly wondering if that was a skill all mother figures picked up.
---
Flying at light speed to Starkiller took a few hours, which Finn spent half of it fidgeting. Solo and Chewbacca shared a look, then Chewbacca shrugged. Solo sighed and addressed Finn.
'Look, I'm anxious about Rey as much as you do. But she'd survived on Jakku for so long, she's tough. I'm sure she can hold on until we get to her.'
'I know.' Finn glanced at him, then back at the wall panel he had been staring a hole into.
A few beats passed, then Solo made up his mind.
'Tell you what, I've been meaning to fix this squeaky panel in the cargo bay. How 'bout you give me a hand?'
Finn got up and followed him.
They sat on the floor fixing the panel in silence, until Finn asked tentatively, 'Do you ever miss home when you're flying around the galaxy?'
'Well… Sometimes, but I try not to think about it.'
'Where's your home?'
'What's a home? Is it where you were born? Is it where you grow up? Is it where you settle? Or is it a person?' Solo gestured around with the screwdriver still in his hand, then raised an eyebrow at him.
'So, which is it?' Finn tilted his head, frowning.
'That, you have to decide for yourself. You'll know when you've found yours.'
---
Finn was awed to find Rey broke out all by herself.
It was a whirlwind of finding out truths, each more shocking than the previous. Ren was actually Solo's son; him killing Solo for some twisted access to the Force; him choosing power granted by the First Order over genetic family.
And the most worrying turn of events? Ren had been waiting for them as they trekked through the forest back to the Falcon, wanting to turn Rey to the Order's side. He had made his intentions crystal clear.
To Finn's eternal relief, Rey rejected the 'offer' outright. She did not waste one second in insulting Ren, calling him a monster. Kriffing right she was.
Ren responded by knocking her into a tree by Force and Finn's heart nearly stopped. He ran over and dropped to check her pulse. It was only when she groaned that he knew she'd be alright and his brain restarted.
A few crackling swishes and 'Traitor!' reminded him that Ren was still preying on them.
Rey had defended Finn; it was now his turn to return the favour.
He knew there was no way he would stand a chance against an experienced Force user, but Force if he would let anyone else be taken away from him. He was not going down without a fight.
He fired up Skywalker's lightsabre and charged Ren.
He held his own relatively well for a first time user, until Ren swept the sabre from his hands and punched his face so hard, forcing his back to be exposed. Ren followed up with a heavy upwards slash.
Instantly, a fiery pain exploded across Finn's back. He collapsed onto the snow.
If he was going to die, at least he had fought back against the organisation which had manipulated him since he was a young child. He could only hope Rey and Poe would forgive him for not succeeding.
Too exhausted by the overwhelming pain, his vision grew dark.
---
When Finn regained his senses, he was in a transparent bacta suit strapped inside a clear tank.
Thinking the First Order caught him again, he kicked open the cover and scrambled out, gaining his bearing to formulate an escape plan. It was then the interior decoration theme finally caught his attention - the Order's default colour theme was dark grey and black, not light grey and white.
A nurse parted a sliver of the privacy curtain to investigate the commotion. Finn took note of the Resistance emblem over her lapel and relaxed slightly.
'Ah, you're awake! That's good, it means your spine's nearly healed.'
'My spine?'
'Yes, do you remember what happened?'
'Not really. Where am I?'
'We're on the Resistance fleet, this ship's called the Raddus. Better let the doctor check you over first though, just sit here while I get her. Dr Kalonia!' she strode off without waiting for his reply.
For his part, Finn padded out of the medical bay to find Rey and Poe, taking the opposite route from the nurse. It was admittedly not the best idea, as he had no way to know if they would be on the same ship.
He wandered around with a stiff spine and occasional funny looks thrown by passing staff. It was a miracle that he managed to ask someone who knew where Poe would be and could give him the right directions.
He was stumbling past the hangar scanning for Poe when a loud voice exclaimed, 'Finn, buddy!' followed by a heavy thud. When he turned clumsily towards the voice, he was greeted by Poe's thick dark curls suddenly sticking up everywhere right in his face and a hand on his arm. 'You were in a pretty bad shape, I was so worried about you.'
'Good to see you too. Where's Rey?' he squeezed Poe's shoulder in return, not realising water was sprouting from his suit until Poe got busy covering up the disconnected tubes with his bare hands.
'It's a kinda long story, buddy. Let's get your bacta fixed first before I update you, yeah? Bee, go on ahead and tell Dr Kalonia to prep for Finn.'
---
It feels like a whole month of jumping through the galaxy with the Resistance before Finn finally sees Rey in person on Crait; he cannot help himself from crashing into her and burying his face into her neck. She's alive, she's come back for him, she's hugging him as tightly as he's hugging her. Then, he is openly sobbing into her tunic. Poe comes up and puts a hand on his back, mindful of his still healing spine.
This must be what a home feels like, Finn muses. Maybe, he has found himself a new home without realising.

Game of Thrones- Season 7 episode 2 Recap (Pt. 1)
So after debating a lot with myself I decided to make this post because I have a LOT of thoughts and feelings about got’s most recent episode.
I can’t promise I’ll keep doing this for the next episodes (cuz I’m hella busy right now) but I’ll try anyway.
WARNINGS: This is obviously gonna contain SPOILERS; while I try most of the time to be neutral and objetive if you are a ride or die D@ny Stan this is not the recap for you (I find her intresting as a character but I DON’T have any love for her since season 4); I’m clearly a Jonsa shipper so of course I’ll be talking about it.
Cool? Let’s begin!!
——————————
1.- So we start with a storm hitting Dragonstone, cuz the episode is called “Stormborn” so there must be a storm cuz -poetic cinema- anyway we pick up where we left last episode. D@ny is with her small council, and Varys is recalling her birth (but we already knew she was born during a storm soooo) and D@n-D@n admits she doesn’t feel like Dragonstone it’s her home. I honestly called it since episode 1, her ‘coming home’ scene was very dry to me, it held no emotion and I’m glad at least she now recognizes she is here for the Iron Throne and not because she wants a home (and hey maybe she does but- even if I’m going to sound like a cheeseball- neither a castle nor a throne are a home, and she has forsaken love [aka. Daario] to get both of those things soooo) Yeah so it’s time to drop some truths, and Varys admits his loyalty is only to the people and D@ny agrees to forgive him for trying to get her killed under the condition he doesn’t conspire against her but tell her if she’s failing him and the westerosi people (but then she threatens to burn him ‘as expected from the Mother of Dragons’ he says ‘as expected from the Mad King’ says I)
Thing is, from Varys’s POV, she is the best damn chance at getting a somewhat decent ruler (I mean compared to Robert who didn’t care about ruling or Cersei who is ruthless of course I see his point! Plus she kind of has a legit claim over the IT) but does it mean she should??? If she cared so much about being a good ruler (not a conqueror) and doing right by her subjects then she already sucks at it. Look at Mereen, it was supposed to be her “practice” at being Queen and apart from ending slavery (with very questionable decisions) what good did she do??? She left the place in RUINS with no new system to rule, and her ex-boyfriend in charge, someone who has no political history and who lead a very violent group of mercenaries, not only that but she left the city in a very vulnerable spot, and her subjects must recent her for that.
Now I know lots of people are praising her for not burning the whole damn city, but I don’t because that would be a dumbass move and who would want to regin over ashes?? I mean not even Cersei.
Back to the episode, another fire-lady (aka Melissandre) arrives and talks about the Azor Ahai (we even get a brief lesson of High Valaryan) and mentions casually that Jon Snow is KitN, Tyron is like ‘he’s cool bro, we should totally recruit him’) and the D agrees to send him a raven to summon him so he can bend the knee.
WHAT THE HELL???? Melissandre is clearly saying there’s some serious shit happening and D@€n€rys is more worried about stablishing her supremacy than asking what is the threat???? This is why I dislike her so much. Tyrion doesn’t look thrilled by the way.
2.- Wait is this season 1??? Noooooo it’s Jon and Sansa recreating yet another Ned/Cat scenes like the totally platonic siblings they are.
So Tyrion’s raven has arrived, and looks like someone learned from his mistakes and is disscusing things privately with his most trusted advisors (aka. Sassy pants and Dadvos). Totally platonic siblings agree that Tyrion is cool, but they find this invitation very suspicious… And they should because being the sneaky clever man we all know Tyrion fails to mention that part about bending the knee (not a very favorable beginning for J0-J0 and D if you ask me) however Dadvos point out they might have a use for her big ass army and flying-magical lizards against the WW.
Sansa refuses to send Jon, and Dadvos is like lmao no!!! Jon is ours!!! But being Ned 2.0 we all know duty and honor comes frist to him *sigh*.
3.-Cersei is holding court (to like 5 people) trying to sway the Reach Lords to her (dark) side, by telling them how dangereous is DT (which I find ironic cuz like she is not the only one who burns her enemies sister) but as we see with Randy Tarly people are not so charmed by their new “Queen”.
Jaime honestly just keeps disappointing me, and even when I dislike the Tarly bitch I applaud his loyalty to Olenna (that Red Wedding reference was savage!!) and let’s admit it, it’s FUCKING impossible to choose between Cersei whom is ruthless and hated and D@€n€rys with her three massive weapons and her army of rapists and slaves from their POV.
Also let’s fear not cuz Maester Qyburn has solved the dragon dilemma by making a big-ass crossbow that pierces right to a dragon’s skull honestly wtf.
4. Back with D@nee, we have the Greyjoys, Tyrells and Dornish (or what is left of them) at a war council making not-so sneaky plans: Yara and Ellaria want to burn it all down and take KL, Olenna actually supports them. But the D just won’t do it, which I completely support (#stop killing the small folk in your stupid Wars 2kforever) Ellaria calls bs cuz ‘this is Esparta- I mean war!!’ she and Tyrion have a face-off about Myrcella (a minute of silence for book!Dorne’s storyline) and honestly I just new this council was gonna be a hot mess, everyone wants revenge.
And D@ny knows but tries to bring them to heel anyway, so they explain their strategy: a site. Using the Dornish and Tyrell army (so she won’t burn them but is willing to let them starve to death. FUCKING charming) but actually is kinda clever because Tyrion predicted Cersei would try to turn the Lords against them for bringing foreginers (which they totally did) and wants a westerosi vs. Westerosi battle, and he hopes it might sway some Lords to their side while he and the Unsullied take on Casterly Rock.
Everyone agrees that is an awesome plan (I call bullshit) and D asks to have a word with the Queen of Thornes. She is not deluded into thinking they actually care for her (well done D@ny) but she promises Cersei will pay!!! And Olenna gives her the shittiest most OCC advise ever: be a dragon (which translates to: burn them all!!!! And don’t listen to your advisors cuz they are mans) but I understand she has nothing to loose now (honestly the thing I liked about the Tyrells is that they fomented Love and not fear so I was rolling my eyes so hard at this) so she stopped caring about keeping the small folk happy.
5.- Sammy Pottarly on Oldwarts, working with Archmaester Slughorn!!! they basically tell Jorah they can do nothing for him, Sam feels bad for him and offers to send word to his family, Sam gets the big 'I’m a Mormont’ reveal and he immmediatly decides he can’t let this Man die even if he knows nothing about him. I Love ya Sammy but don’t.
This is getting too long so I’ll make a second part with the rest of the episode.

Hydal Bartis
Tumblr media
Hydal Bartis was born in medieval times, growing up in a particular kingdom, easily having the dream like most boys back then to become a knight, a protector, a warrior for one's King, one's people. Even as a kid he showed clear talent for fighting and was straight away put into squireship when he hit the right age. Every duty, every requirement thrown at him, he performed, valiantly, perfectly, without fault. Clearly, he was truly knight material, in every single way, in skill, in demeanor, in attitude, he learned it all, understanding what was expected of him in his role, serving with utmost diligence.
At first he was serving his kingdom, protecting the central castle and it's monarch. He was very quick to foil every assassination attempt, even if there were only one or two he ever experienced. He had also served on the front lines, where his skills really came into play. No doubt a Legend had been created, with a lone, blonde knight, taking on immense armies, all on his own... and winning. Such earned him many accolades.. and for a long period of time, served directly under the King, protecting such, as well as the Queen and Royal Family, from anything that came at them.
Of course, in due time, that King would die, so would the Queen, new people step in and take power, Hydal would serve under them as well. People wonder how he stayed so young, still fresh, with unrivalled ability. He too, did not know until his own death. However, it would come to serving under a later King, that would test his loyalty to the Kingdom. His first King was kind, generous, benevolent, everyone loved him. There were Kings that were firmer, but fair.. and Hydal would be told of decisions made.. and why. He understood.. and from that, he grew, coming to learn about what was truly best for the people, even if some things might seem inconvenient.
But then came one King, his last King, that really put his judgement, his loyalty, to the test. Self serving, arrogant, corrupt, only in it for himself. Hydal had a job to protect such a figure, such a monarch, but he did not become a Knight, purely to serve a King. He did it to serve people, the populace. If it meant serving under a King who made their lives peaceful and happy, then he was doing his job, but now it came to the point where such a position was counteractive. He was torn. Loyalty to his King, or the people? A true knight did as they were told, not to question any decision the King made.. but why... why was it meant to be that way?
There were choices. Keep serving the King, like the loyal servant he was. Kill the King, for the good of the people, but forever tarnish his reputation... or do something else. He had an idea, a vision, what if he could protect more than just his Kingdom? There were people in other Kingdoms that needed protecting, saving, from whatever adversity came to them. In the end he decided to leave his old Kingdom behind, with a group of comrades.. and start a troupe. A group of travelling Knights, a legion that would protect everyone... protect the world.
He did not ever go as far as to liberate Kingdoms, but in a realm full of magic, there were plenty of adversaries to face. Witches and warlocks who wielded immense power, brainwashing, causing chaos, armies of skeletons and trees. Even, it seemed, the moonlight stars were turned against him, but every thing that was thrown at him, he overcame, even if, in the more extreme cases, on his own. Popularity spread as far as it could go. Hydal Bartis, the Knight of all the Lands.. but soon a new name would be found, from one of his more memorable encounters. Hydal Bartis: The Star Fighter. A title that was associated with him, both for fighting the stars... and fighting like the stars were always on his side.
His final fight was of dramatic consequence, a tyrant, an emperor with magic worse than any wizard, warlock or witch, sought to dominate everything. Someone who might have known too much, who tapped into the deepest corners of the world.. and found something truly horrific, that he would channel for his own goals... as well as the goals of another, the goals of a new partner, a new comrade, for further conquest, beyond the lands, beyond the world. Armies rose from the ground, unnatural, inhuman, a seemingly endless force to flood every Kingdom, every town, to consume anything and everything. The one thing standing in the way.. was Hydal.
While it seemed like he was fighting more fiercely, he still managed to vanquish those armies, with ever growing ability and power. The sight of such impressive feats was beyond comprehension. Everything they threw at him, he dispelled, inching closer and closer to bringing them down for good, but they had one last trick up their sleeve.
The emperor and his comrade combined their powers, their energy, their spirits... creating an abomination of a nightmarish scale. A humongous dragon, bigger than anything, than any castle, than any mountain, had been born... and it would seek to annihilate the one Knight that stood in their way.
It was a vicious battle, truly a case of light vs dark. Everything was thrown at eachother, Hydal himself would use his own abilities, his energy, method after method, attack after attack, to ward off the dragon's abhorrent attacks, to wear it down more and more, an exercise that seemed hopeless, impossible, beyond comprehension. But.. something was on Hydal's side, more than energy, more than light, more than the people.
It was like someone was talking to him, saying something to him, without words. Call upon the power of the stars, they said. Bring the sky down.. and engulf the beast with all the lights of the night.
It was like nothing he had done before. Sure, he had used the stars to his advantage, but not on this level. He even wondered if he could even do it at all, but he tried. In a battle stance he stood, sword raised, eyes open and glowing, brighter than ever before. Concentrate, focus it all on the stars.. and give it hell. Suddenly, it was like the stars in the sky began to fall, bright lights coming down at a speed faster than light, raining down upon the dragon. At first it was bit by bit, the first blows clearly enough to make the dragon writhe in agony, to knock it off it's feet, but the man wasn't done yet. He was taking it level be level, always going the next step.. and before he knew it, the entirety of the stars would fall, raining down on the dragon, like an endless shower of immense light energy, of torture. The dragon might have had a skin thicker than what sword could pierce, but the sheer energy of those stars alone, without their physical form, brought shockwaves of pain, suffering and damage to the dragon.
By the end of such a shower, the dragon lay, but clearly not done yet. It was trying, oh so trying to get up, to shake all of this off, despite the pain it was carrying. The light was toxic to the dragon, an anti to a being of sheer darkness, but it was ever resilient, even as it struggled to move, to stand, to fight. Hydal knew, as well, that he wasn't done.. and while such a dragon was down, he would use his last move, to finish it off for good.
Again did he focus, little stars now, coming from the sky, but not as raining meteors of energy, bur they came down, to surround the beast. It was like the stars in the night sky were not enough.. and the man, while straining in energy, called upon the stars of everywhere, anywhere. It was like the multiverse had heard him.. and obliged. Those stars slowly came round the dragon, enveloping it in light. When the dragon was engulfed, the light would begin to brighten.. and brighten.. as if the energy was intensifying by the second, like the stars were multiplying, over and over. The ground even shook, upon such immense power, that only one man, the knight himself, was controlling, even as his energy was being used up. Controlling stars on this extreme, to this extent.. and to what he was being used for, was taking everything out of him, but he knew, this had to be done, this, was going to do it.
And in the crucial moment, as the light blinded everything and anything, he raised one hand... and snapped his fingers once.
It was an explosion that would not be seen again for centuries. It was on a scale grander than an atomic bomb. Open fields, trees, anything around the field he had brought it to, devastated, annihilated, along with the creation of quite the open crater, as if a comet had struck the planet. There was only one thing that would remain after the light had cleared, the smoke lifting... the knight, right in the middle of that crater, still physically there, but no doubt in the worst state he had ever been, like everything had been taken out of him. He might not have been taken in the explosion, but with using so much of his own energy in extinguishing the dragon, the blast had taken what was left... and left him in a deteriorating state of paralysis.
He couldn't get up, he could hardly move, the pain he was carrying was dull, from a fading mind, a fading soul. He was only just able to see the dark clouds dissipate, the sun coming out, brightening the world once more, just that blue sky... his last sight, before he was taken from the land of the living.
Hydal Bartis is one of the few Atomites that achieved above and beyond the scale of his country, maybe even his world. He did not even know until after his death about the underlying factors that birthed that dragon, how a darkness, seemingly Multiversal, had risen from ashes, finding a like minded individual.. and wreaking havoc. It is speculative that he may have achieved a feat of Multiversal importance, maybe even on more than one occasion.
Throughout his life, Hydal was of the utmost loyalty, first to a King, then to a Kingdom, then to the world. He is, on the outside, a knight through and through, fully committed to his servitude, always looking into what might be a threat in the future and seeking every possible measure to stop it, even if it meant dealing with it himself. He was always polite towards his comrades, as well as the people. He may seem stern, but such was the behavior he was expected to become, someone who had to make tough decisions in the shortest amount of time. While he was still learning a lot, he was also always, always on the hunt for whatever might threaten the people next, usually with as little rest as possible.
However, despite his tough shell, there was a side to him that did not surface until after his death, when he made it to the afterlife, along with the other Atomites. With the loss of purpose, the inability to protect the people he cared for, came a side of regret. Throughout his whole life, he had spent it all on servitude, protecting the world from everything that jeopardised it. In doing so, he missed out on the finer things in life.. in fact.. he never really had a life. No fun, no games... no companionship.. not even the spark of love. What had developed then, inside that shell, was a side of loneliness. Maybe there just wasn't any time to do any of those things. Maybe he just didn't think to stop for a while. All he knows is, his ship sailed a long, long time ago... and in this peace, he'll never get it back.
It is then, that he can be described on the outside as touch, stern, but polite in that regard. Even now he still has that exterior. If he's put to something, he'll see it through to the end. But, if you talk to him long enough, chip away at the armour, the sword, one just might find that lonely man, who wants that chance to love... to really live... to have the life he never really had in the first place, or would have had, if he wanted to do anything different. As much as he is an expert at hiding his emotions nearly all the time, sometimes it just takes a bit of one on one, to see the inside. He is also clearly kind towards civilians, people, the very thing he serves to protect. As much as he may be doing a job, if he has the chance, he may take a small part out of his day, just to help with something, if it can be done quickly, so that he can return to his job as quickly as possible.
As tough, lonely, complicated as he might be as an individual, you never know when happiness might be around the corner

Personality
Castiel’s personality has evolved quite a bit since his first meeting with Dean Winchester. The more he helped the human and his brother, the more time he spent with them, the more human he himself became, in a metaphorical sense.
During the beginning, Castiel was quite cold. He was a very one-track kind of thinker where if he didn’t get 100% what he wanted, he might as well have gotten 0% of what he wanted. He listened to all orders given to him without question, doubt, or hesitancy. He had the utmost trust in his superiors and in Heaven to the point of almost not seeing all of the flaws in what they did or said. He was a diligent soldier who believed just a bit too much in his side of the “fight”, making him bigheaded, a bit full of himself, and quite sassy and short with those who did not see his significant power as he did.
But, all of those “negative” traits evened out as the days with the Winchesters turned to weeks, months, and years. Cas learned to see their side and to understand it. He’d listen and eventually learned to do as the humans did; think for himself. Of course, he’d always been capable of such a thing but had always thought it unneeded, relying instead on the older Angels to guide him and tell him what to do, thinking and feeling not really of import to their missions. But he did have his own thoughts and his own feelings. There were things he didn’t want to do despite Heaven telling him to do just that. He refused, and thus, started to become his own person.
He retained his loyalty but no longer to those in the wrong simply because they called themselves “family”. Castiel fought for what was right, and at first, that seemed to be the Winchesters Vs. Heaven. That changed as Time went on, however. He became patient although not with an ever-lasting temperament. He did have a line, as most if not all beings did. He became loving, developing the new feeling for his new family. His Angelic power stayed the same, but in taking the time to understand and get to know humans, Cas learned that they too had their own powers sometimes even suppressing his own. No one being was better than another because they could simply do something better than the other. It was the type of person someone was, what they did, their actions, their feelings, thoughts, and their passions that defined them.
About
A.N: My versions of Sam, Dean, and Cas are canon divergent. They exist in a world where most if not all events from the Mark of Cain storyline and on did NOT happen! Cas is still and always has been an angel (except when he THOUGHT he was human coming back from Purgatory), the other angels didn’t fall, and Gabriel wasn’t really killed by Lucifer.
Billions of years before there were humans on Earth, God created Angels. It started with Michael, Lucifer, Raphael, and Gabriel; the Archangels. They were said to be one of God’s first creations. He soon created more celestial beings of light, they were his children and were responsible for maintaining Heaven and guarding the souls of the righteous humans there. The jobs and duties of the common Angel evolved as the humans on Earth did and as Time went on. They were given the objective of keeping order, in a sense, and thus, Heaven’s “army”; the Host of Heaven (or Holy Hosts) were created.
The Host of Heaven operated in garrisons; a unit or division. Each did as was told of them and had their own affairs and assignments given to them as to keep Heaven and humans safe. All Angels did their part in one way or another. Sometimes, there would be things on Earth that needed to be handled or dealt with, and so, an Angel would choose a human vessel.
Angels can not appear in their true forms on Earth as the sheer power they radiated, as well as the light, would not only blind all humans but also burn them from the inside out. Seeing an Angel’s true form can cause severe and permanent damage to a human, and so the possession of a human vessel is needed when an Angel walks on Earth. With permission from the host, an Angel can take control of any human and use their body as if their own.
It was not a common occurrence for an Angel to spend prolonged Time on Earth, some never did and thus would never take a human vessel. However, certain things or events throughout creation required their stepping in. In 2003, a righteous soul meant for Heaven was taken instead to Hell, and Angels stepped in.
Castiel was the new leader of that particular garrison, having been given the position of leader when his former superior (who would later go by Anna Milton) fell from Heaven 2,000 years prior. For all those years, his garrison’s duty was to watch over humanity, which they did with no news or word from their superiors or God. They did as they were told and never questioned it. 4 months after Dean Winchester went to Hell, Castiel’s garrison was assigned with the task of retrieving the man’s soul placing it again within his body so that he may rise and continue to do Heaven’s work.
Down in Hell, as the Angels searched for him, the Righteous Man’s soul stood out so prominently and brightly to the garrison’s leader. Castiel pushed through all of the demonic beings he must to get to that shining light almost becoming in captivated by it. He was the one who gripped the man tight and raised him from perdition. The Angel then screamed, a call sent across the whole universe to all other Angels and said so loudly that not a single Angel could help but to hear it. Dean Winchester is saved.
Angels never questioned anything they were told to do, relying on the knowledge and wisdom of their superiors; the Angels created before them, to guide them. No one Angel will ever or was ever created to know everything, only God did. If something was ever seen as “weird” or “didn’t add up” to a younger being, their older “brothers” and “sisters” would surely know. It was not their place to question anything, nor was it their place to know why every time they may, in fact, wonder. Castiel had always been like that, always relied on the insight he believed his superiors possessed. If he did not know, he was not meant to know and or didn’t need to. But, that day Dean Winchester was saved, a small part of Castiel wondered, for the very first time, why it was 4 months after he was pulled to Hell that they’d been given the assignment to save him. Why hadn’t they been told to act sooner?
However, his small and brief curiosity did not matter and was never voiced as it was not his place to ask or even wonder what he did. The thought was pushed aside as he and his garrison went back to their posts as watchers.
Castiel had been given a specific assignment next, taking him away from his garrison. As the Righteous Man kept up his attempts to contact the being who saved him from Hell, Castiel was ordered to guide him through the various tasks he was meant to go through on Heaven’s word. And so, the Angel chose a human vessel.
James “Jimmy” Novak was a devout Christian who prayed for years to assist the Lord. Each Angel in Heaven was created differently, as were humans. Some human vessels would not work for some Angels, the presence of them inside of the body slowly burning them from the inside out, while other humans were perfect for the correct Angel. This was called a true vessel, and Jimmy Novak was Castiel’s.
It didn’t take much persuasion to have Jimmy say ‘yes’ to him, the human all too willing and happy to help Heaven and their fight in any way he could, despite it meaning leaving behind his wife and young daughter. At the time, this didn’t phase the Angel, nor did he think of the effects Jimmy’s sudden and prolonged absence would have on the two. He had a job to do and taking care of this ordinary, small family of humans was not it.
Castiel appeared to Dean Winchester answering some, but not all, of the man’s questions. He at least told him all he could and was allowed to. It was the start of the two’s connection and journey together. Something about Dean’s soul seemed to have a pull on Castiel’s very being. Beyond it now being his sole “job” to guide the human, when Dean called or prayed, Castiel came. He was soon given the shortened nickname of “Cas” by the human.
Cas became closer and closer with Dean and by connection the man’s younger brother, Sam. The two were hunters, fighting against the supernatural “bad guys” that walked the Earth alongside humans. Unbeknownst to their new Angel friend, Sam and Dean had been created through Heaven’s interference and were the true vessels of the Archangels Lucifer and Michael (respectively). Cas hadn’t known this when he first started with his new orders from the Host of Heaven.
The Host of Heaven saw how the garrison leader’s relationship with the human brothers grew, specifically his attachment to Dean. At first, Cas had concluded their connection to be from the human’s resurrection, having saved him by pulling his soul from the deep parts of Hell. It had been Castiel specifically who had saved Dean, after all, surely the Host of Heaven would have known to expect the outcome. But, their bond exceeded more than that.
Both Dean and Sam taught Castiel things he hadn’t even thought of in the many, many years he’d been alive. They showed him what it was like and meant to be human, and what effects Heaven’s work really had on them. Sam and Dean fought every day to save and help people they did not know, and not because they were told to, but because they chose to. They may not have chosen the life of a hunter themselves, but they had free will in all they did, a concept not quite “popular” within Heaven’s many garrisons. It was foreign to the Angel as, at first, he did not understand why they would ever want or “choose” to go against Heaven’s wishes; the thought of “choosing” to say no and go against orders was something that had never even come into his own mind before. It was a very human thing, free will, but they were, of course, human. And, they seemed happy enough in their lives. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing as some of his superiors would present it as…
Castiel was demoted from his position as leader of his garrison, the next Angel under him, Uriel, receiving his “promotion” instead. The Angel still did his job though, but not because the Host of Heaven told him too, but because he wanted to help the brothers the act in of itself feeling correct, in a sense.
The Angel evolved as he spent more and more time with and helping the Winchesters. They were to be pawns in Heaven’s fight against the upcoming Apocalypse, acting as the vessels for God’s “firstborns”; Michael and Lucifer. Castiel could no longer see the humans as simple pawns after getting to know them, nor was it any longer right, in his eyes, for Heaven to decide for them what they will and must do. He sided with the Winchesters and teamed up with them in their first fight to stop an upcoming apocalypse, abandoning and fighting against his own brothers” and sisters; the other Angels and even Archangels.
Years and years on Earth passed and ‘Team Free Will’, as they called themselves, fighting for their own rights to chose what they did with their lives and why (going against Heaven’s say-so), grew and changed. Castiel, the Winchesters, and so many countless hunters joined their right against the supernatural and sometimes Heaven as well. There was a select few Angels who’d agreed with them, helping their side of the fight against their own, but as an overall, Castiel was on the opposite side of his home.
A lot happened to them as fights ended, changed, started up again, and evolved. There was always another fight. Damage was done to Heaven and its Angels; countless Angels were killed by Castiel’s blade as he fought against them. He harmed them all and created wounds that would take years to heal. There was a time when it all caught up to him, all of the things he’d done in he and the human’s fight for free will. He’d chosen them; chosen Dean time and time again over all of the Angels and all of Heaven; over his brothers, sisters, his Home, and his family. He couldn’t bear to go back fearing the sight of what he’d done would push him to a suicide. But, Time healed all wounds, and Angels naturally lived for a very, very long time. Things got better as more and more Angels started to understand where Team Free Will’s fight was coming from and why. They evolved as they had before and would again.
Cas joining Sam and Dean eventually led to the boys discovering the Men of Letters Bunker. The Men of Letters were a secret organization of scholars who researched the supernatural, giving the needed information to hunters who could then do their work for them. They had long since been whipped out, killed by the Knight of Hell Abaddon. One of its members, Henry Winchester, had a single son when he “died”. The young boy would go on to become Sam and Dean’s father, making them the sole inheritors of the bunker. They quickly accepted the place as their new, permanent home. Cas was given a place to stay there as well, although his bedroom would never be used as Angels did not require sleep to rest as humans did.
Much more would happen to the Angel during his time with the Winchesters including he and Dean’s trip to purgatory, and Cas then thinking he was human upon his return (forgetting he was an Angel. At the end of the day, despite all of the bad or hard times they would go through, Castiel stayed by their side and stayed on their side. They were his family, and he planned to be with them for the rest of their lives until he’d eventually see them again when they went to Heaven.
