As someone who spend so much time on more lgbtq+ settings on the internet, I tend to forget how much the average joe is, by norm, very heteronormative, as is society.

Like, there was this short video on youtube showing the Falin's resurrection scene and all, and some peoples did some comments about it.

As someone who do ship falin × marcille, and compared to what we see around here, that's pretty mild stuff right?

But as I keep forgetting, some people get quite mad at the simplest suggestion that gay people may exist in their little show.

Tbf, the first comment may just not be into the ship and is finding reasonings to why it doesn't work on their eyes, but they're very defensive still.

The second comment however is at quite a point of hetero delusion. Falin was about to marry Toshiro? What? It was mentioned he proposed to her, not that she had accepted and was about to marry him! But, to some people, a man liking a woman is enough for them to be already together, no matter how she feels about it, bc it's "the norm" for the boy to get with the girl. Like, he likes her, and that's all that matters so they will totally get together at the end?

Sadly, that's one of the reasons I see Laios × Marcille as a boring ship sometimes. By all means, I see why some people ship it, there is some real reasoning behind it, but I just know the biggest reasoning for most people that ship them is just "he was a boy, she was a girl, do I need to say more?" Type of mindset.

This next one just makes me laugh, it HAS to be bait:

Like, Marcille NEVERS blush around Falin AND just blushes around Laios? Fella, I don't think we watched the same anime or read the same manga, even people that don't ship them can see that they are a little gay. Or can they? (Vsauce theme starts playing~)

About their age difference and how race works in Dungeon Meshi, that's quite the big topic, not sure I want to stray too much here (there's too much text here as it is).

And about that part that says "makes me think they're all very straight": if this comment is a joke or not, this bit says a lot. Most people see the whole world like that, everyone is straight till proven other wise, and you gotta prove a LOT in media for characters to be gay, or it doesn't count. To most people, being hetero is the norm, and seeing lgbtq+ ships is very hard for most bc of this.

No one is forcing anyone to ship anything here, but lots of people really do forget being gay is even possible sometimes, and get mad at us for shipping what reflect our realities (at least in our eyes). Especially in the anime community, where the simple threat that their "waifu" may not like dudes send some fellas into a fit of rage and homophobia.

And I know, the focus of Dungeon Meshi is not romance and never was, and we can't see the story only through these lenses, I agree with that. But people will ship anything in any show, and I just used it as an example to talk about this topic. It's something that comes often to my mind and I never had the chance to talk about it till now.

The audacity of this child to look so much like you.

Looked at his precious baby from over your shoulder just as the little angel opened their eyes and made eye contact. Made his world stop and his stone heart explode.

He was so cautious and a bit nervous when you asked him if he wanted to hold the baby. The second he had that infant in his arms… his world stopped for the second time.

They had his eyes, tail and little fuzzies all over, but they had your facial features, complexion, and hair colour that matched the fur.

If you thought he was overprotective with you, get ready for him to be the most vicious Monkey King there ever was.

He always made sure that you held that baby from beside him, not letting the child out of his peripheral vision.

Someone tried to kidnap the child once… let's just say they didn't live to regret it.

He tells the little one a lot of stories when they can't sleep, only if you and the others are asleep, though. He doesn't need you or Pigsy teasing him about being ‘adorable’ and all that nonsense, but he also doesn't want the little angel to disturb your sleep.

Sure he was lenient with forcing you to sleep regularly, but now? He made sure that an hour or two at most when the sun goes down, you and the baby are asleep. Whether that means he has to carry you both in his arms or not. If that became the case or even if your feet hurt too much to walk, then so be it.

Oh how he enjoys when such occasions do occur. Usually he’d carry your things so you could focus on the bundle, but when he has to carry you both, of course he forces Pigsy to carry them.

He loves holding you both in his arms, especially when you rest your head against his shoulder and tell him how much you love him. Thanking him for blessing you with your bundle of joy as you often did to her.

Whenever you camp out, too far from any village, he makes sure to make shelter for you and the baby near a tree to keep the little one out of the dew.

Makes the nest with the best items he could find and if it’s not enough for the both of you, he runs off to find other things that are even better.

If you pass a marketplace that sells anything soft? He ensures that the most comfortable ones are procured exclusively for you and your infant.

He enjoys watching you feed the bundle… cause… ya know. You're his wife. He also thinks the little sneeze they do every time they’re finished is absolutely adorable, and it melts his heart every.single.time.

He watches the baby closely when they reach the age to sit up on their own. He makes sure to be ready for when they fall over in case you're too slow to catch their head.

He loves the kid, sure, absolutely without a doubt… but sometimes he doesn't like it when all your attention is on the baby to the point you don't acknowledge him.

He's an amazing dad, but he’s an amazing husband and mate first. GIVE HIM ATTENTION, DAMMIT!

He’s still the same possessive Wukong, of course he’d get jealous if even the baby gets more attention than him. Give him snuggles when you get the chance, a plus if you hold him and the baby.

He still often gets you little gifts and things he thinks you may like, especially since he knows how stressed you've been since you got pregnant. It’s his doing, so it was the least he could do.

When the baby holds his finger and gurgles with that furrow you frequently did, he tells them not to talk to him with that attitude. Something that makes you smile, trying your best not to laugh. Especially when he scolds you for passing on that attitude to his precious infant.

When the baby does it with that large gummy smile that also reminded him of you, his heart soar. He'd have that content smile that makes any hardship worth it. You absolutely love that smile the most.

Despite the times he would frequently tell them not to ‘talk’ to you like that, he liked to say it served you right for passing down your sass in the first place.

When the baby gets old enough to eat mushed up fruit? He collects the ripest and juiciest ones for the both of you. Yes, he will beat Pigsy to a pulp if the gluttonous pig tested his luck to try taking some.

Things i think Lucifer would do while you're dating

♥︎fluffy fluff all over, sfw

✧ i don't think there's any warnings i should put here other than me projecting onto my favourite babygirl. and very soft Luci 🙏 (my personal religion)

☆ these are purely some scenarios i like to think about often in my lil fantasy world in my head, (and yes this is still and art account i don't write much<33)

• He keeps a list of things you like so he can get them for you. He's very observant, especially when it comes to his beloved, so if he sees something catch your eye while on an outing or you've liked/shared an item on your story/ saved something pretty to pinterest (which he follows but won't admit it. it's not like he really uses the app for anything other than gift ideas for you anyway) he will keep it in mind and write it down in his notes app when you're not looking/there.

• He brings you flowers every week. He learns flower language so he can give you the most meaningful bouquets he can. When they start wilting he immediately replaces them with fresh ones, but he doesn't throw the bouquets away, he proudly displays them in vases around his study.

• You mentioned your favorite snack/sweets (that you can't find in the devildom) once in a conversation with Asmo that he overheard and since then he periodically goes up to the human world to stock up on them so you can have a treat whenever you like :)

• He asks you to do his nails one time as an excuse to get away from paperwork for a little bit and spend some time with you, and you both started gossiping and just talking about RAD, his brothers, etc, and this has since become a routine between you two, one day a week either in his room or yours you get together to sit on the floor while you do his nails and gossip

• he has awful night terrors and has no idea how to cope with them, of course he can't go telling anyone about them that would be embarrassing but he also doesn't want to worry anybody. he's the big brother he's not supposed to show any weaknesses so that his brothers have someone to rely on (shhh I'm projecting) so he distracts himself with work and music, he's lost too much sleep over these kind of nights. One night after you two had been dating for a while though he woke up in a cold sweat and while his first instinct was to go to your room there was something stopping him. So he turned to distracting himself again this time by putting on your favourite show/movie. And he continues doing this every time he has a nightmare until he feels comfortable sharing such vulnerability with you. He finds it oddly comforting even if it's a genre he wouldn't typically enjoy, remembering you talking so fondly about it gives it a different kind of vibe, sometimes depending on how exhausted he is or how bad the night terror was he'll fall asleep with it in the background.

• Takes interest in your hobbies and makes sure you never run out of supplies and new things to try out. And if he sees you eyeing anything relating to your craft or a game or ANYTHING REALLY you'll have it the next day

• Will ask you to come do your work/chill in his study while he's working as a way to spend time together, in the beginning he says it's bc you'll be able to focus better since no one will disturb you there and there's less noise but later he realises that your presence helps him be more productive so when he feels his motivation and focus slip he'll come into your room to do the rest of his paperwork next to you or if you're sleeping in his bedroom that night he'll come work at his desk there, as long as he can be near you he has a reason to finish his work faster.

• Lucifer being an exhausted older sister™️, never really gets to let his guard down so when he trusts you enough he'll finally let his mask slip and give up control for a moment (something all of us wish we could do tbh). someone go bigspoon this man he needs it.

• ^ so he likes to walk up to your/his bed after a long day and just plop on top of you in his pjs and demon form, he knows he's heavy, he knows you were reading but tbh he doesn't care he needs to be held right this instant. bonus points for you if play with his wings, scratch his head esp near the horns or rub his back. you're never getting rid of him now.

• he's so interested by everything you tell him, you wanna explain the plot of a new book in excruciating detail? tell him all the hot gossip you've been hearing from your friends at RAD/Asmo? Make him watch a 10 season long show while explaining every minor thing? go ahead, he will literally give you his full attention if he's not swarmed with paperwork. he'll remember 99.9% of what you tell him too.

I would have loved to see Jadzia central episodes after she got together with Worf, and ones that's didn't focus on their relationship only. There was so much more to her before and then it seemed like being very immersed in everything Klingon was one of her very few traits.

yes--I absolutely agree. probably not the first to say it. she becomes this quirky, hot sidekick/girlfriend in season 5. how they wrote worf and dax getting together was cute and "screwball comedy" but they sort of tried to keep up that energy but not as successfully (screwball banter is cute only when both parties are getting jabs in equally, and dax seems to just smile like worf is being cute when he accuses her being ridiculous all the time)(like i said, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't)(it's just when it doesn't, worf comes across as annoying and dax comes off as Not a person). she's around quite a bit, offering her quips and support and playing her role in other people's journey's...

but episodes that are about her and depend on some issue she has within herself are not present after the romance. not like "rejoined" or the episode where she's being accused of murder bc of curzon. of course, of the episodes that are about her in previous seasons, all of them except "rejoined," arguably, are about her struggling with some past self. while i think the character can go beyond that simple sci-fi-what-if design (like, for example, i think spock goes beyond the alien-conceit in most of the spock-centric episodes), i found myself missing even that watching everything after she and worf get together. if they had even drawn out that romance and showed her genuinely trying to get worf's attention for more than one or two episodes, that would've been more interesting then what ended up happening.

i also sort of get that ds9 isn't so much the "new world" part of star trek as the "new civilization"---that is, it's mostly focused on ongoing diplomacy and war plots with the same handful of richly made-up peoples. but they managed in previous seasons to still write episodes about discovery and scientific work. in season 5, scientific work all seems to be focused on julian, due to the exigency of his role, rather than dax, or both of them. like, within the typical star trek roles to play, the science officer drives the fun discovery and new-weird-stuff plots. instead of episodes about any of that in season 5, though, there's a lot of quark and odo and sisko and julian and worf all juggling their various definitions of identity. (miraculously, dax never seems to waver in that regard. with kira, it's debateable.) which. fine. it was all interesting.

i do think that the show still manages to show dax as someone particular and complex--the writing just doesn't genuinely explore any of it after writing the worf/dax relationship. the moments she does have in episodes not about her are for the most part very good and very interesting and she provides context and wisdom and motive in the way her role dictates. but the fact that i think her character is so fascinating and has so many rich options for sci-fi storytelling only makes the absence of stories focused or driven by her all the more frustrating to me. there's only so many episodes about odo's feelings i can retain interest in.

maybe give jadzia a planet to explore with a bunch of geode formations that emit a protein that causes mutations within biological creatures to cease which somehow causes changelings to crystallize while the protein is in their system and jadzia has to fight on behalf of the planet to just exist so it's not turned into a super-weapon against the dominion and this turns into a struggle with basically her and julian against everyone (they're the most idealistic) and causes real tension between kira and dax for the first time ever and sisko has to say something about how life is sacred and resources are sacred and one has to choose and then dax does something that can't be taken back and the creatures give her a small geode/collection-of-geode-creatures in thanks and she carries it around like she carries all her past-selves.

(which would then justify the way worf constantly seems to characterize her as impulsive and impractical or whatever. bc she did this one dramatic thing that no one can now forget about her. and she just takes it bc she would do it again. and the audience just doesn't know who to agree with.)(but that would make her person with deep conviction and interiority and some perhaps truly un-likeable traits. instead of the hot, smirky-quirky jester that gets men 18-24 to tune the fuck in once a week.)

If you had to say, do you think this past few arcs of MHA, including the this final one, are rushed? I know many, many people have said it is so far, but like I just don’t see?? It seems that the pacing has been quite good, and the important moments are given impact, But the common complaints I see are that the story isn’t given enough room to breathe or it feels like it is going off a checklist. Do you think so too?

Yes and no. I do think some plot points have been expedited, but not out of lack of consideration for the story/characters or out of a desire to rush the story to an ending (or because Hori "secretly hates mha and just wants to get everything over with," or whatever absurd and insensitive nonsense redditwtter believes).

Rather, I always get the sense that Hori's always frustrated that he can't do even more for the series-- and recent interviews only cement this impression. MHA is his passion project and it's clear that he loves it deeply, but the constraints of this medium and his health problems sometimes make it difficult for him to fully realize that passion. Like, I don't want to overstep my boundaries as a fan and make insensitive assumptions, but-- as someone who also loves storytelling and art, I imagine it must be so unbearably frustrating to not be able to tell your story exactly the way you want to because of those aforementioned constraints. Despite that, he doesn't give up-- and as much as I want him to rest, I also can't help being in complete awe of his art/composition and how he delivers this level of quality on a near-weekly basis. He has an absurd level of talent.

Anyway. I feel that overall, act three has been paced just fine. The final act started out a bit rough with the dark hero and starnstripe arcs feeling mildly disjointed from each other-- but Hori found his rhythm again by the start of the war and thus far has managed to tie the themes and arcs of his core cast together in a satisfying way. I feel like people who claim that the pacing has been bad are kind of letting the cold, unrelenting march of real time cloud their judgement (MEMENTO MANGA AND MEMENTO MORI BROSKIS 🤘)-- but if you go back and binge read from the start of act 3 to now (306-405), it's easier to see that the final act has been paced well imho.

I've also mentioned this before, but, I feel people need to take the fact that Horikoshi introduced a lot of MHA's characters and plot elements when he was healthier into consideration with their critiques. Ongoing manga should not be critiqued the same way that one would critique a finished book-- understanding of the medium and its constraints are absolutely factors that need to be considered before you start bashing things like pacing or arguing that things have been "retconned," I feel.

And I also feel that as fans, we do have a responsibility to be aware of the grueling work conditions of this medium and the effects it has on the author, and then temper our expectations accordingly instead of expecting Horikoshi to neatly resolve every single subplot or minor character arc (For example: "Why aren't Momo, Denki, and Kirishima getting their moments in the final war?" bc they all got their big moments during the first war; "Why didn't we -see- Izuku and Toshinori developing their relationships with ALL of the 1A kids, Class 1A vs Deku and IronMight felt so forced!" *afo voice* BECAUSE THEY'RE EXTRAS-- bc this would be an absurd request even If Horikoshi didn't have health problems. It's perfectly fine to narrow the focus of Izuku's relationships down to certain key members of his class to emphasize the effect he has on people and narrow the focus of Toshi's relationships down to two or three other students to show his growth as a teacher-- the story would become excessively bloated & lose focus if we tried developing *every single side character/relationship*. This is literally basic writing 101).

I do agree that glossing over certain emotional beats in the aftermath of the first war was unfortunate and unlike what we'd come to expect from Hori (Midnight's death being treated like a footnote instead of a chance to explore the concept of personal loss in the students is the most egregious example)-- but for the past year or so we've seen a return to form in emphasizing/exploring the emotions of the core characters, so I do have high hopes for the finale/epilogue of Act 3!

You aren’t the only chubby person in the whole school, even if sometimes the feeling is that. Jamil may have first noticed you for your figure but it was very brief. He is a discreet and reserved person and doesn't get tied up in bonds if he can help it. When you two started talking, however, his opinions about you became stronger;

Both of you usually talk about nearly everything. Jamil feels curious about the things you like to do, your hobbies, studies and of course, favorite foods. Sometimes, flipping through a Viper's old recipe book that he always had on his bedroom bookshelf, Jamil finds himself wondering if this or that dish would make you happy. And he blush a little with that thought;

Jamil isn’t the type to judge by appearances, but he is cautious with you just as he is of everyone else. The way Jamil’s eyes squint, smile contentedly and say direct and at the same time so vague things, causes you the same strange fascination that he has for you. It's really like you're talking to a serpent;

But as time goes on, you gain Jamil’s trust and he feels safer telling you more about him — things he has even commented on but very superficially. You share stories and memories, discovering different and similar situations. You may not even realize it though, Jamil has a twinkle in his eye when he watches you laughing, remembering a funny occurrence from the past;

The place you most like to meet Jamil is in Scarabia’s kitchen, not for the delicious food he prepares but mostly to watch him cook. He doesn't know what you get so much looking at him, it's no big deal. But you likes to focus on his every little action. The way someone handles food says a lot about the person, you know?;

Jamil teaches you a few things about cooking, sometimes not noticing when he holds your cute chubby hands to show you how to hold the knife properly or comments a tip to you at the foot of your ear, almost in a whisper. You feel your face heat up and your heart beat fast, bewildered by his sudden closeness. But sometimes, you smile fondly in his direction and Jamil almost lets the onions burn;

Despite being discreet, Jamil has a dressing style of personality and you admire him for it. You ask him to accompany you sometimes when shopping to help you choose something or find an outfit that makes you feel beautiful and good. If you can't find a piece, Jamil offers you another one to try. The results are very good and the view, from where he is at, is magnificent;

If you want to lose weight or accept the way your body is, Jamil will be there to support and advise you. Be your shoulder friend and let you rest on his legs after a tiresome day, caressing your face with devotion — since you’re a beauty in his eyes because of your good heart. More than serving you as a friend, he wants to love you as a lover. You’re his precious jasmine flower;

listen, everyone except Oscar (bless his innocent unpretending little heart) recognizes that their relationships to other drivers play a worthwhile role in their own image and PR and that bromances = publicity. Carlos and Lando aren't even as close as Lando and Max V but carlando took off and stayed so popular that they'd be idiots to not keep bringing it up and capitalizing on things like Singapore and the driver parades. they are absolutely great friends! all of the easy friendliness you see is legit! but the fake gay flirting and the over the top bantering is solely for the benefit of us fans lol. it's the exact same dynamic with Lando and Daniel. they're very much friends, but they do exactly the same banter and handsy stuff as carlando. it's nothing sinister or calculating.*

so do Carlos and Charles do the same thing for the benefit of fan engagement and their own brands as drivers? oh hell yes they do lol. does it mean they aren't actually friends or that they have no real chemistry or it's all some ice cold arrangement involving Ferrari? alfgaslgflafg NO. if anything the fact that they've stayed so naturally warm and friendly in all their publicity work despite what their own ahem social circles may be stirring up online and in the media is proof that they aren't having to work at their chemistry very hard.

and like... Ferrari of all teams ?? does not need a charlos bromance - or any bromance - for shit. the biggest legacy team in F1 - and an Italian team at that - couldn't give a fuck if their two drivers are friends or what they get up to when they're not in the car as long as it's not flagrantly illegal. they want points, then wins, then championships. the name Ferrari alone is their PR.

and it is totally everyone's right to feel how they want to about drivers but for me personally I just do not engage in stanning or pretending that any F1 driver is pure as driven snow when it comes to forwarding their own career. it's as cutthroat as you can get out there and they've all tested the track limits of what's technically fair or above board in their search for a WDC.

*are McLaren PR and media teams clearly less interested in Oscar than Carlos or Daniel bc Oscar won't ham himself up and is so singularly incapable of faking it around Lando that he often just stands/sits there sometimes and watches Lando with his mouth open? yes. do I hope they realize that we find his dynamic w Lando charming and sweet even without the bromance stuff? yes.

Finally listed to Rebel Robin (the Audio show, not the book) and honestly it was not what I was expecting, I guess more in-line with the actual Stranger Things tv show. But of course that wouldn’t make sense.

Anyways, when listening to it I honestly find it really poetic, I don’t know if the subjects it tackles relates to the current climate but I find it now more important than ever.

One question I have is how do you direct Actors (those who act on screen or a visual medium) to perform for audio?

OH HI I CAN FINALLY ANSWER THIS QUESTION I'M SO EXCITED

(the SAG strike is over!! while podcasts were never struck work, bc Surviving Hawkins is a Netflix/Stranger Things show, I was considering anything related to it to be struck, so haven't wanted to post or promote it in any way! but we're finally done!)

I'm really glad you listened to the show and that it surprised you and felt relevant - it was a careful balance of making the show feel like it fits into the ST universe while also understanding that it takes place well before Robin knows anything about the Upside Down, so the story is going to be very different from any other ST story.

in terms of directing screen actors in audio...so many of the principles are the same! most of the actors I work with are TV/film actors not voiceover artists (though of course screen actors do VO and VO actors do screen, there are differences when it comes to those career paths).

(this got so long, putting it under the cut)

the thing that is hardest about screen acting in my opinion is the fact that you have to hold a million details/tasks in your head at once while also acting. stage acting is similar - you have to remember your blocking, make sure to project and be turned out to the audience, etc., but usually when you're acting on stage, you're doing the same show over and over again. for film - and especially TV - actors every day brings new scenes, new blocking, new physical actions. you have to hit your mark exactly, make sure you're in your light, find your eyeline, work with props, and memorize lines that you've sometimes been given that day. and then you have to make sure to give an emotional performance on top of that.

plus, in a show like ST, you're often interacting with things that are not there (every time I watch the demobat fight in the most recent season I'm so curious how they did it/what was providing the tension for them to pull on the bats, hit them, etc.). a lot of the actors I work with come from genre stuff, where a lot of their work is imagining that the green box they're in is actually a spaceship and the green stick they're holding is actually a magical staff or whatever. which adds another layer to the work.

which is all to say--audio is the opposite of that. you don't memorize your lines, you just have to make sure you're speaking into the mic, and that's it. but you also are only using your imagination to conjure up the setting and the actions your character is taking. so a lot of my work as a director is making sure the actors feel free to experiment, make mistakes, and be physical, even if we can't see it. oftentimes, a screen actor will come into a recording feeling like they have to do a particular thing, treat voiceover differently. my job is often just to remind them to treat it like anything else.

pretty much every actor I've ever worked with has commented on just how fun it is to focus on only the acting and nothing else. there's of course so much fun to be had running around and fighting monsters, but I find that voice acting provides a nice bit of variety. with Maya - and with the nature of the SH scripts - it was just about creating an atmosphere that felt conducive to natural conversation. because of ST filming scheduling, we actually didn't get to record her and Sean together at all, which was a bummer, but we still had someone reading the other characters' lines so it would feel like two people having a conversation.

in terms of specific direction, I'm usually focused on finding different shades of emotion from take to take - let's do this one angrier, let's do this one where you're scared and trying not to show it, etc. the only time I ever really have to voice direct is if something is getting mumbled or mispronounced or if I need something physical - the character running, smiling, etc. in those instances, I'll just tell the actor exactly what I need and we'll just pick up that individual line.

I hope this answers your question! especially since I wrote such a massive answer, lol. but the long and short of it is that directing is the same across mediums in many ways: you're focused on story, emotion, and chemistry and the lovely thing about podcasts is that you get to focus on those things and those things alone.

hey uh weird question but how would you recommend getting into arknights? ive had an account for a while, but was never really was able to super get into it because i dont know to actually play it all that well. anything will help :)

Oohh I was just mentioning this to someone else yesterday i have trouble answering this so i'm sorry if I don't really say anything meaningful idk sksnjkfd But uhmm i'd say that it can be a bit difficult to get into yeah but one of it's main strengths is like, it's story. The game does guide you through it's stages and teach you how to do stuff, but you'll have to build your chars and invest into raising their lvls and skills so you can continue. It's usually recommended to raise a balanced team of like each type of char instead of just building One Guy to deal with all, and the different types of characters do matter a lot (like defenders, guards that focus on dealing damage, vanguards that hold the line while you can deploy other chars, etc.) Another thing is that usually there's guide's out there that can help! Honestly, I personally have no issues with looking them up when I get stuck in stage I can't deal with. As I said, sometimes what hooks you in is the story so I think enjoying it is the most important thing! Or getting interested in a character and wanting to know more about them, the events, etc. Also on the topic of events, it kinda sucks that as a new player you're kinda gatekept from events bc your team is too weak, but eventually you'll be able to clear them! And as I said, sometimes guides can be useful haha.

but yeaaa i dunno... On my end i got into it early last year but i had to stop bc of space issues, and when I came back I basically obsessed over one story line and played the game enough to get through it haha One last thing; there's an online story reader! it has a lot if not all of the events on it, so it can help if for example there's an event happening rn but you can't do the previous events before it, so you read em there and do the current event (or just read them separately if you desire)

Star- Does your F/O do anything to calm you when you're upset?

i think ren would actually encourage me to be outwardly upset more often ;; not in an unhealthy way, but because i don't really express those kinds of things anymore. if something seems like it's upsetting me but i'm not Doing anything with it, he might ask me some questions, probe a bit to see if it's something i REALLY don't want to talk about, and suggest i vent a bit or cry on his shoulder... and once that's done, we'd go fix something to eat and he'd pump me full of electrolyte water LMAO. ;;

(and it's work both ways tbh -- doc!ren has even worse issues with expressing negative emotions than i do, and r!ren expresses them through being bitchy to people who are being bitchy to him ksjdfn, so i'd want to help them vent in healthy ways when they're upset!)

gray's pretty simple with his methods... he's one of the most mature people in wonderland (which isn't saying much tbh, he's just better at it than the others), and since he fills so many job roles while working for nightmare, he knows how to approach people. so he'd sit me down in a quiet room, far from the hustle and bustle of the busy areas of clover tower, and ask what's wrong. he'd let me get it all out, politely interjecting where need be, and then once i'm done he'd suggest that he could make hot drinks for us (to which i'd have to reply that I'D make them kjsnfjkn, i don't trust him to boil water let alone mix ingredients ;;;). and if it turned out that my issue was due to someone being threatening or violent, he would... take care of the issue later... :)

oushirou's a silly guy, but he has a very serious side as well. he'd sit with me, encourage me to let things out, hold my hand, and maybe help problem solve a bit. he likes to keep up a daily stream of communication when possible, so if he got Vibes from an earlier chat, he might let me vent when he gets back home and then be like, "btw i picked up dessert for us on the way back for no particular reason whatsoever, so look forward to that!" he knows i know it WAS for a particular reason, and he lets me huff at him for being frustratingly good at picking up on things i try not to let others see. and while he isn't as retaliatory as gray, if i was upset at something a stranger said / did to me while out and about, he might play bodyguard for a while juuust in case i need someone with a strong kick with me ;;;

mars is quieter in his approach. he'd cuddle up and ask if something was wrong -- they know if it's something important enough to me that i'll let it out with a little prodding. he'd just hold me as i vent, and when i'm done, they'd thank me for feeling like i can trust him. and then we'd just... "move on" -- once the emotions are out it's better to focus on something emotionally fulfilling! he's like a more immediately open oushirou -- it wouldn't take much time for them to feel close enough to pick up on those things and know how to help me deal with them in the moment and after, and like oushirou, they generally know when to play it cool around violent people, when to be threatening, and when to actually make good on those threats.

Galaxy- What do you and your F/O do when one of you is homesick?

both rens have complicated feelings about their family homes, feeling a weird mix of nostalgia and disgust. by the end of his whole story, doc!ren ends up not being able to go back At All, Literally Cannot, so sometimes he has that contradictory, "well now that i CAN'T, a part of me wants to go back after all......" feeling. I think in his case, the only thing we can do is just be together for however long he needs, doing things that remind him of the better moments back there in a, "there are still things from there that you have here," sense.

and this particular s/i's brand of homesickness is like a low, constant, simmering feeling of homesickness they've long adjusted to... poorly adjusted, but adjusted nonetheless hhhh. just being around doc!ren helps to soothe those feelings, and as the relationship continues they start to disappear. "i have a new home now, and it's you," vibes. 💕

r!ren's a bit easier KJNDKJN. he misses visiting his grandparents, who he's closer to than doc!ren is. we'd end up sitting somewhere cozy, and he'd either call or video chat with them and we'd all talk together. i'd start learning french to bridge the gap a bit, but ren would still translate when needed. talking to and spending time with the people he loves helps a ton on its own (he does want to take me to visit them in person at some point though hehe).

this verse is fairly close to reality, aka i live with family, so no homesickness for me lmao.

oushirou is less homesick than one would think -- yeah he's constantly traveling, but it's the one thing he's always known he wanted to do, enough to completely cut contact with his disapproving parents over it. he'd still miss the winter crew and me, and would visit whenever he could, but i'd say it's less like homesickness and more like... if they and i could travel with him, he'd never feel the desire to return home. traveling IS his home. we do, however, having some matching clothes and items so that, when he can't visit for a while or if he loses service and can't call / text, we can still feel connected!

also living at home here so no homesickness for me, but i do miss oushirou dearly, which makes it all the more important to him that we make the most of every possible moment together when he has the opportunity to visit!!

gray doesn't have any homesickness. he's pretty much like everyone in wonderland (except ace) in that regard. -I-, however, do feel some homesickness in spite of myself, and this sends gray in to a quiet panic. in his mind, i'm homesick -> i want to go back home -> i'm going to leave wonderland and never be able to return. so despite knowing how manipulative it is, he constantly takes me out on dates (platonic or romantic) to places he KNOWS i'll adore. wonderful restaurants, art supply shops, spots on the roads between locations that he thinks i might want to draw, doing physical activities that i can't manage back home... he wants to show me that wonderland is better than anything i had going on before. he'd freely admit to all of this if i called him out on it or if it seemed like it was making things worse, but despite his mature exterior he really is just as willing to sweep details under the rug as any other wonderland resident if it means keeping someone he cares about nearby.

Black Hole- Have you ever had a strange dream about your F/O?

all of my oc f/os have been sourced from strange dreams tbh so i won't even go into them lJSNIFLN, their stories are really just edited versions of my initial dreams about them.

i have Fucking Weird dreams about oushirou all the time though. it's mostly things like "i found a secondhand shop for doujin, and there's SO MUCH OUSHIROU DOUJIN I'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!!! I HAVE TO BUY IT ALL!!!!"... but also absolutely unhinged shit, like one where we met at a library we were sheltering in and, over the course of a couple of days, fell in love, he was bitten by an animal and developed RABIES????, we decided to get married before he was too far gone, and then i became a widow. so. KJNAKJN.

and i won't go too far into details bc i said i wouldn't, but mars was technically created from an oushirou dream set in a zombie apocalypse. he was a test subject to see if zombies could be "brought back", and i was brought in as like... an impromptu chat buddy to help with socialization. scientific overreach etc etc the arrogance of man etc etc. years later i rewrote it to make more logical sense, made that oushirou into my oc, and used the whole thing to work through chronic illness feelings (yay yippee love to dump my issues on my ocs weehee)!

i've also had some very weird ones with raven, like when he and rita slipped through spacetime into this world, and we met by chance and all bonded pretty quickly. or when he was an... instructor? at some kind of summer camp for adults?? and while it didn't seem like i stood out to him much at first, he actually stuck up for me at one point and kept wanting to connect after that. idk, weird things with no real rhyme or reason but that don't even come CLOSE to the weirdness of the oushirou dreams lol.

Moon- What's something your F/O does that never fails to make you happy?

doc!ren: he's very good at sussing out things that someone would ENJOY doing but may not have a reason to go out of their way to do, so he helps me get out of my comfort zone safely and understands if/when i hit my energy limit. i also love when he feels he trusts me enough to release "you will regret this" levels of infodump on me KJNFKJN, it's so cute and sweet and his enthusiasm is contagious.

r!ren: my LORD is he good at making me feel special!! and with his personality, it's clear it isn't just a matter of niceties or being a flirt. i feel so happy every time i can see how genuine he his, how far he's willing to go just to provide comfort, how he wants to be around me just as much as, if not more than, i do. how, if i have to cancel a date bc of a flare-up, he'll immediately come over with a care package filled with healthy (and secret not-so-healthy 🤫) goodies to keep me going for a day or two. 🥺

oushirou: genuinely just... his everything. but in particular, his over-the-top silly antics really get me. he'll make mundane things sooo dramatic just for the sillies + the joy it brings to others. he has great emotional intelligence and puts his ALL into helping those around him feel better. (also i know vaguely-horny does not equal happy.... but he sure does make me happy when he canonically KICKS THROUGH DOORS ksndfkjn like helloooooo?? sir??? 😳 that one scene has made me so Not Normal for the past 11 years....)

mars: something as simple as holding their hand. we're both very protective of each other -- we kind of have to be, given our situation -- so they often provide a sense of comfort. whether we're just sitting and reading together, or we're doing some activity to stimulate his cognitive function, or we simply cuddle in his holding chamber, they emanate a strong sense of safety, and i can really feel it through his light hand touches and rubbing the back of my hand with their thumb. and in a world that's gone to shit, that simple, caring touch means so much.

gray: OOOOOH his gap moe mode kjsndfkjn. after the serious answers, i get to the serious character and my answer is just "when he goes googoo gaga over anything soft and fluffy." he's so cute in jnkna when he's fishing on a frozen lake and a little seal becomes his companion 😭 and he names it after alice and puts a little alice bow on it 😭😭 he even gets cute when peter turns into his rabbit form -- as peter yells and scratches and curses at everyone, gray's still like 😳 bnnuy.... 💕💕💕💕💕

raven: when he's being a little drama queen ksjndfjn. i think there's plenty of room for quiet, serious talks that end with us feeling happy with our situation, but nothing beats when he's teasing karol or being a little silly guy! just a little 5'7 guy!! and it's his birthday!!!!! etc ksjdnk. his skits always crack me up, bc more often than not he's so unhinged for NO REASON! he's just LIKE THAT!! and yet he still thinks "raven" is a mask. nah man. you are all of your masks, the masks were always part of you, and that means part of you is a silly little trickster and Local Weirdo (tm).

Another, slightly less short Prowlbulk story BC this ship gives me brainrot

Why did he keep painting dandelions?

For the past few days, whenever Bulkhead decided to pick up a paintbrush he ended up painting dandelions. It didn't matter what he intended to paint that day it was just. More. Dandelions.

Of course the others asked about it, he didn't blame them. "I just want to try different styles and it's easier to paint something simple" is what he had told them, and it wasn't entirely wrong per se, it just wasn't the entire truth.

As much as he wanted to deny it, his prossecor had latched onto dandelions, because his spark had latched onto a bot particularly fond of them.

In the wake of this new theme, Prowl had taken more of an interest in Bulkhead's hobby. Passing by from time to time to see what new ways he'd find to paint the humble flowers.

"This one is rather interesting" stood in front of one of the newer paintings. It was of a gray scale street, with the only color being the bright green and yellow of a dandelion patch in a crack in the sidewalk.

Bulkhead looked away from the canvas he was sitting with, "thanks! I wanten to try making a painting where the dandelions take priority in an environment where they'd get overlooked".

And that they did. The background had buildings, and people, and all these other things that would take your attention. Yet the only thing you could really focus on was the little bit of color the dandelions provided.

"Well I'd say you've done an excellent job at that, is there a particular place you used as the background?"

"No, it's just a mix of random buildings and things you see outside. Most streets look kind kinda the same" Bulkhead chuckled a bit at the last part, it was true, the big city looked way too similar most places.

"Yes, that is why I look for little things like this, it makes things seem more lively", Prowl was still looking at the painting, enamoured by the attention to detail.

He must've stood there for a while because Bulkhead eventually sked if he wanted to take it. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah! It's not like I'm gonna run out of dandelion painting anytime soon. And... you seem to really like that one"

Prowl could've sworn he was Bulkhead blush a little, but decided not to bother him anymore so he took the painting and went to his room.

Sitting in his room with the painting propped up against the tree, he couldn't help but feel something tugging at his spark. He had expressed how he didn't like the distain people had towards dandelions. That he really liked them. And now it was the only thing Bulkhead would paint.

Did this mean something?

"No. We are just. Friends. He must've simply started to notice them more after what I said", as much as the thought stung, it's what he kept telling himself. Still, he could appreciate the paintings.

"There's totally something going on between them" Bumblebee whispered to Sari as they played games together.

"I don't know, I mean it's pretty common to paint flowers and nature stuff" she wasn't sure what he meant, but had a feeling she knew.

"Sure, but didn't Prowl have a rant about dandelions right before this whole ordeal started?" he, paused the game and leaned back "it can't be a coincidence, right?"

"OK? I don't know, maybe it just gave him the idea" that's the only reason she could think of. At least as far as plausible reasons go. She could of course come up with other reasons, but none of them made sense. "They're good friends, and sometimes friends give each other ideas" she wanted to leave it there and return to the game, she was so close to finally beating Bumblebee. He shrugged and the two went right back to their game.

Unbeknownst to them their little discussion had been heard by someone who they'd rather keep it away from. Prowl sat up on the cranes near the scieling, contemplating what they had said. Once again, the word 'friends' made his spark clench for some reason. It's not that he didn't like Bulkhead, quite the opposite actually. He really liked Bulkhead.

A few more days passed, and while Bulkhead had started getting over his weird dandelion phase, he didn't seem to keen on painting anything else. Frankly, he seemed distracted.

And it wasn't just him

Prowl was acting more reclusive, everyone found that odd since he had just been getting more open with his teammates a while ago.

Most of all, the two seemed to avoid each other. To the point where Optimus was starting to get worried.

It wasn't like him to try and get involved in someone else's personal matters, but he also had to make sure his team was doing alright. He figured Bulkhead would be easier to talk to, he walked towards Bulkhead's room and as he was about to knock the door opened, surprising them both.

"Uh, hey bossbot. Did something happen?" Bulkhead had a sneaking suspicion about what it was.

"Well I was just wondering if you and Prowl have gotten into a fight. I don't mean to pry, but you've been avoiding each other."

"Well... about that. I just got a call from him asking to meet up. I was about to head out now."

"Oh, well in that case I wish you luck", he stepped aside and Bilkhead set off towards the spot Prowl asked him to come to.

Prowl was incredibly nervous as he waited, and no amount of trying to meditate remedied it. He knew that he could potentially ruin his newly blooming friendship, but he felt like his spark would eat itself up is he kept his feelings to himself any longer.

After what felt like an eternity of pacing around and contemplating he finally heard Bulkhead approach in the distance. Prowl quickly composed himself, and hoped the other wouldn't hear his spark pounding in his chestplate.

And so they were facing each other for the first time in a while. The place Prowl had chosen was a somewhat remote clearing. Just close enough to the city to not take too long to drive back home, but far enough away for privacy. The evening breeze rustled in the trees ever so slightly.

"So, uh. What did you want to talk about?" Bulkhead asked awkwardly, he couldn't help but notice how good the ninja bot looked with the soft moonlight reflecting off his plating.

"For starters, I'd like to say just how much our friendship means to me. I could trust you to keep the dinobots a secret, even though Prime would be mad at you for it. And even if I couldn't help you the way I wanted you still gave it your all and tried". Prowl's voice was unwavering but as much as he tried he was getting more and more flustered. "I would hate to ruin anything between us, but I...", he swallowed even though his mouth was dry, "Recently when you only painted dandelions, you did so after i spoke about them... and I feel quite similarly about you". He was just about burning up at this point, face completely taken over by a deep blish and hus engine cearly audible. He looked up to see that the other wasn't fairing much better, now standing a lot closer and looking bewildered.

"Uhm, h-how so?" Bulkhead was almost afraid to ask, but in his spark there was only excitement. If this meant what he thought it meant he could just about pass out on the spot.

The angle of Prowl's visor softened, he took a deep breath. "People tend to misunderstand you, and disregard your good qualities. After spending more time together I've realised just how... amazing you are. Your endless knowledge on spacebridges, how gentle you can bes despite your strength, and even if the others don't understand your art I've come to apreciate it". He was so caught up that he didn't notice how the other was starting to tear up. "Bulkhead? "I thought you were avoiding me because I upset you. But to hear you say all that, it's more than I could ever ask for. I admire you a lot and... I love you too".

They stayed there for a minute looking into each other's optics, then they leaned in and kissed again. And again. They both lost track of how long they had been sitting there exchanging kisses and words of adoration. "Does this mean we're more than friends now?" Bulkhead asked sheepishly, Prowl looked at him for a moment, then chuckled "if it doesn't mean that then I don't know what it means". They looked around in the darknes, realising how late it was "we should head home", "yeah... do we tell the other's about this?". Prowl took a moment to think "no, not yet. I do not want o deal with all the questions we will get right now".

"Yeah, especially Bumblebee... I'm sure it'll be fine, let's get going".

That night they both went to sleep excited about what their newly formed relationship would bring. But one thing was certain: neither of them had any regrets about it.

I stumbled on your post on Harry Potter. And I want to say thank you, bc you are first person to explain to me why I do not like Hermione and Ron pairing. Well, I read books when young and I mostly was swayed by other works I had atm. But Hermione and Ron story always made me sad for reasons I could not explain, but it just had this bitter 'this is life and you accept that it's not like you wanted' feel to it. I could it explain it as the common trope of smart and great girl getting average guy who likes her and being happy bc he treats her nice. Which is trope I dislike too. I am not into fandom enough to go back and read the books again, I just vaguely remember what I read, and you explained it well by saying that both Ron and Harry actually did not care for her for a long time. I at that time could not relate to her exactly bc her struggle was not shown. So I took her as a bit of ideal Mary Sue character, but when reading it as quite a kid then, I remember thinking all kinds of things like: Hermione is one of a king, I can't be that smart, I can't study that much bc I can't focus, my teeth are crooked and I can't fix them like her, so I will stay uggling forever, I will cry and wipe and be upset and have trauma and insomnia, I will never be as confident.. and so on. What I mean is, it seemed like she just had inborn talent, and while it's great, my self esteem was terrible (greatly bc I am 'ugly' type, not pretty type, even if I don't agree with those qualifications, it's what other people would qualify me). I remember often feeling the same about other books with main female characters, I just felt like I can't never aspire to be like them, first bc about my looks and I don't know how to fix them. And also in personality and strength, bc in story it was often that they were kinda cool and strong, and just could do things. And I never was that resourceful. Even with romance, heroine either needed to be pretty to be saved by prince, or very good at being social and healing people with their warmth, and I was bad at both. Can't really be warm and healing when you are traumatized potato. Well, that ended up really long, but I relate to your post a lot as also a kid who mostly was learning of word via reading. I used to like sci-fi, but I read both classics as well as modern, and a lot of those books were so degrading to their female characters, and I remember how I was sometimes devastated, but accepted it as some real world truth.

Thank you for writing this message to me! It means a lot for me to know that I helped something to click, and you're right about Hermione, and about how books shape our views that we're either 'pretty' in conventional sense, or we just don't get to be heroines, regardless of talents.

I can relate so much to wanting to be like Hermione! She was incredibly smart and brilliant and she was allowed to have bushy hair and crooked teeth and she was still so important and vital to the story. It's a bit sad that her features change with time and she too changes them for a special occasion. We could have done with a heroine that looks a bit messy but it doesn't matter because nothing would ever get done without her!

And it's true that for the rest of the trio, she was just a nuisance except when they needed her to fix their homework or just as someone to lash out on. Sadly I believe for Ron she was just turned into romantic interest because he felt kind of an ownership of her, he bullied her relentlessly and was a complete nightmare before figuring out how to manipulate her into a relationship. I believe if we had grown Hermione more, and she found out about feminism, she would have dumped him.

The books do damage our view of ourselves if we're not conventionally pretty, warm and healing, helpful and brilliant, and if we instead need attention and help to overcome our own struggles. But this is why we're real people, we're not made to tell a story with our life, we're here and we're alive, and I don't believe appearance directs the course of our life, or our value. I don't believe any bit of my life would be different if I looked prettier, there are circumstances in reality like class, environment, patriarchy, financial resources, upbringing, trauma, and they often set our life path more than appearance ever could. Media sells us the story that we too can become problem-free, and ImportantTM if we're pretty, and all our circumstances would change then, but they wouldn't. Pretty doesn't work to our benefit more than getting us certain kinds of attention and maybe a pass at few non-important issues (tho m*n get extremely jealous so they blow these issues up like it's the pinnacle of life to get a free pass sometimes, losers).

But I agree with your point. Our heroines should get to be messy and 'ugly' with all their features crooked and weird, and they should get to be traumatized and help no one else, but be helped, be important, be vital, get attention, and get love.

Guess I can get back to the planned stuff + Asks stuff this weekend bc I'm burned up with family bs and said "no".

Anyway. Developing my kai OC's after negative stuff. Will work on SL's.

Solune and Beadle are definitely the bad guys in Zamasu's Redemption story and will play the bully role.

Rubis is kind but still part of the toxic friend trio.

Solune has a good side despite being worse than what Zamasu was in terms of how he acted before he betrayed Gowasu.

Beadle kinda goes with it, it makes him seem double-faced. Perhaps, he is. He just kind of have a follower-mentality, Solune is just the dominant friend, and Beadle kinda goes with it.

Rubis seems innocent and he is... but he has a darker side: Keeping his grief and fears to himself. Even though it doesn't seem like it at all because he's so popular, always making selfies, he wins beauty pageants and is deemed one of the most beautiful women... as a genderfluid guy! A lot of people don't realize that he's mostly male-identifying (reminder that genderfluid is still a trans identity!)

What darkness is Rubis hiding? He seems to know more than people think... perhaps he has encountered some dangers? Who knows! lol I'm still working on this & not sure where I'm going, but it's the most important that people shouldn't think him as a weakling just bc he's more sensitive!!

Nnnnnot sure if I should make a blog for the trio or not... Bc their relation to their masters is most important.

More random lore:

Universe 11: Solune and Khai are very agreeing and get a long very well, Khai endorses Solune so much that he bats a blind eye to Solune's sadistic tics; this can be seen that Khai condoned the erasure of other universes. He believes in sacrifice and it's why he meshes well with Solune.

Solune is extremely intelligent and also assists Khai in his technology.

He passed the tests, proving his great potential. He doesn't seem to have much flaw. Khai considers Solune as "perfect".

Some kais even wonder why Solune isn't Eyre's attendant because he's so good with computers... Though, Belmod warned Khai not to focus on Solune's powers alone and would often remind Khai that Solune is only an attendant, not his replacement.

Toppo claims that he has "bad feelings" around Solune. However, Khai tells Toppo off not to say it ever again. Belmod keeps his eyes open. Other destroyer gods don't seem too keen with Solune. Perhaps they have a better intuition? Who knows.

Universe 3: Beadle is a kai that loves to work with his hands. Despite being quite big and beefy; he's actually the youngest of the 3! He's just a big beefy boy, kinda ignorant and even guillible sometimes. If he wasn't a kai with all that magic stuff, he would've been a construction worker kinda guy. Beadle is good with building big robots, he still has to learn a lot w/ programming and such but Eyre loves how much of a good job Beadle does with mechanics. Beadle helps Mule with maintaining Mosco.

Beadle doesn't really like to think too hard outside the stuff he's good at. Being good at lifting heavy things and engineering. Everything Eyre says is the only good opinion.... and that kind of strokes Eyre's ego a bit too much!

Beadle likes Eyre and Mule's favorite anime as well: Gundam! He passed the test while not even finishing it... he said that he likes Gundam too and Mule and Eyre agreed that Beadle is good enough.

Campari was a little confused. Despite being a supreme kai attendant, Beadle is a can't cook... but Campari wrote down some dishes Eyre and Mule like and Beadle made a robot that can cook. Despite Campari giving Eyre The Look... Eyre said "I could have built that if I wasn't so busy!!* Thank goodness Beadle made Chef-kun."

Universe 1: Rubis kind of randomly picked Anato, just good vibes and an instant 'click' while Rubis came to apply...

Rubis wanted to assist a Supreme Kai that would also try to help him overcome his weaknesses, someone a little strict in an encouraging, someone who can genuinely help him with martial arts and give life advice. Something meaningful. Perhaps mutual growth.

Anato accepted Rubis without any tests. He likes the energy of this mutual exchange. He would describe Rubis as "very sensitive, resourceful, always admitting his mistakes, deep down very pure with good intent, and very funny once he warms up." as Anato also claimed that he has never laughed so much before Rubis was around as Rubis would always bring tea and freshly bake sweet treats... always amused by Rubis' punny jokes.

Ok i want to share my Disco Elysium skills because writing this is way harder than i thought it'd be lmao. This will be a long post bc there are 24 of these and I'm writing a description for all of them, so check under the cut if you're interested in reading me psychoanalyze myself! (also I'm sorry for how many culinary references there are in the skill names and also in the fic. Like, the fic is about me going to school which is just a shitton of cooking. I spend like 75% of my day in various kitchens so it's kinda hard to avoid mentioning it when talking about myself lol.)

Intellect- •Logic = Inference: With so many silent communications and unwritten social cues, the best some of us can do is infer meaning in everyday life. Having done this for so long has left you with the skill to guess at things and somehow make it out of the situation correct.

•Encyclopedia = Scribe: A penchant for writing essays and sessions reading the dictionary with your dad has left you with a dramatic vocabulary and a tendency to regurgitate information on a whim. It only seems to work while writing, as your speech patterns are long-winded and stumbling.

•Rhetoric = Embellishment: You have never been good at debating, always stumbling over your words and overthinking every possible retort until the time for response has passed. You are, however, great at hyperbole, and can make up stories on the fly whenever necessary. This is a defense mechanism.

•Drama = Attitude: A term coined by your parents after many an overreaction, Attitude would likely be better understood as just Drama, but the shame of subpar emotional regulation skills is easier to deal with than explaining to people that sometimes your emotions are too big and even you don't think it's that big of a deal, but yelling helps sometimes.

•Conceptualization = Creativity: Always the artist, right? Without the technical skill to translate ideas to paper all you can do is dream, and you've done plenty of dreaming in your day. A vivid imagination is as much of a curse as it is a blessing, so try not to let your mind wander too far again.

•Visual Calculus = Conversion: You've always been keen on "eyeballing it." Trusting your instincts and past experience when measuring things, whether it be in a recipe or gauging someone's reaction to something, you always feel like you can get the ratios just perfect. You are often wrong.

Psyche- •Volition - Discretion: Weaker than it should be for someone of your age. Always being forced into situations against your will has led to a warped sense of what you want and why you want it. You really should focus more on your own feelings.

•Inland Empire = Apprehension: Thanks to your sense of Empathy, your trust has been worn down by other people taking advantage of you. It's easy to back out of sketchy situations, but when it comes to someone's feelings you are almost always the last to leave. Once again, listen to the nagging in the back of your mind. It means well.

•Empathy = Empathy: Your father always said you were the most empathetic person he knew. This is often detrimental to yourself and your loved ones, as you always seem to gravitate towards the saddest people and give them everything you have without concern for your own well-being. This has always had long-term consequences.

•Authority = Privilege: You know you have no right to take as much as you do, and you try to help fight for everyone's rights, but it is becoming increasingly hard to ignore how good you have it and how much you take advantage of that. You can't help but feel like you deserve it.

•Esprit de Corps = Brigade de Cuisine: In almost everything, there is a hierarchy. Always a bigger fish, always a higher power. Remember that you are low on the food chain, and you will have to claw your way to the top even if it kills you (It will.)

•Suggestion = Proposition: You have spent years perfecting the art of white lies. They come easily to you, almost as easily as breathing. This has caused as much good as it has bad, saving you from minor inconveniences on many occasions but also digging you deeper into pits of guilt. This too is a defense mechanism (one that would be leagues more effective if you could manage to keep your mouth shut.)

Physique- •Endurance = Grit: Pull yourself up by your bootstraps. You've made it this far and you sure as hell ain't gonna quit now. If you don't make it through this bit then everything leading up to this was for nothing so keep going. The pain is a privilege.

•Pain Threshold = Discomfort: Yet another symptom of your parent's judgements, it feels less like you're determining a level of pain and more like fighting a losing battle with your body, always trying to find a small bit of comfort in the midst of the constant aches and pains. They say it's rude to sit like that in church.

•Physical Instrument = Incarnate Vehicle: Threadbare seats, chipped paint, and mysterious creaking sounds be damned, this MC still gets you from place to place with undeterred consistency. It will squeal and groan with the effort, but you were built strong and you want to show it. Deteriorating but still reliable.

•Electrochemistry = Hedonist: With your upbringing, you spent many years shielded from the world and all the delights it offers. No amount of school assemblies have deterred you from yearning to partake in the myriad of vices you find yourself offered. Let's make up for lost time, baby! Get out there and get wild. This shitty college town is your oyster and it's been waiting for you.

•Shivers = Tumbleweed: There's a specific kind of nostalgia that washes over you when you spot a tumbleweed meandering across your path. Echoes of past droughts and moments spent poolside. This debris has seen more than you ever could, and will continue its journey until the end of time.

•Half-Light = Panic: That creeping dread you know all too well, crawling up your spine anytime you go outside. What if he's here again? He could have found you. Ever-present anxiety always keeping you on your toes, making even the familiar feel hostile. Prey instinct.

Motorics- •Hand/Eye Coordination = Knife Skills: You have been training for years to improve your coordination, and all that work has certainly paid off. Precise cuts made without a second glance, measured to the millimeter with only your muscle memory. A perfect julienne in seconds.

•Perception = Awareness: You often find yourself favoring smaller details over the bigger picture. This had led people to believe that you don't pay attention, when in reality you pay more attention than most. Always noticing small inconsistencies. Your hearing is going, but it only takes you a second longer than others to understand, and the chronic allergies have left you with a subpar sense of smell, but your eyes are sharp and your fingers can detect the most minuscule details.

•Reaction Speed = Reflex: You know that a falling knife has no handle, and yet you still flinch in the direction it flew. Even still, all you ever do is flinch. The instinct to grab the knife is inhibited by your seeming inability to truly act. Keep flinching, maybe someday your hand will move at the right time and you'll catch the knife.

•Savoir Faire = Charm: You always want people to think you have it together, so you spend time and money and energy to look the part, and then turn up the charisma when someone looks your way. They cannot see the you that hides behind flashy clothes and makeup. You do not like what they would see. You know it's only a grocery run, but maybe this time someone will take notice. So always have a joke ready. Make sure even your lazy clothes look decent.

•Interfacing = Tech Support: A summer spent in a dingy office with a borrowed computer and expensive camera equipment has lent you a decent amount of knowledge with computers. Though it isn't much more substantial than anyone else your age, it has earned you plenty of compliments from older family members or coworkers.

•Composure = Mask: Try not to react. They will know exactly what thoughts are in your head if your face moves even the slightest bit, so you mustn't let them know how you feel. Keep those big feelings down, big fella. Keep those walls tall.
