ren wanders the city on his off days, enjoying the food and the lights and tucked-away shops. he decorates his space with trinkets he buys during his excursions, and he pins photos from his outings on his pinboard. an illusion of connection to the people around him. his mask is too strong to open up to anyone; he can't be more than the friendly doctor, or the friendly coworker, or the friendly customer.

in the end, he's left in his lonely apartment with his coffee and takeout, sitting at a table big enough for one. still stuck in the cage his parents constructed around him in childhood, perpetuated by his exhausting job run by people who shouldn't be in charge of vulnerable peoples' lives, until his emotions eventually build and explode.

renro music vibes are so all over the place...;; simultaneously gentle and deeply obsessive, fearful of ruining something good while knowing you're already in too deep. in all verses, we both have reasons to think of the other as the most precious person in our lives, to want to spoil and pamper them and treat them so gently, but we have insecurities that make us want to never let go because nobody's made us feel so "seen".

and then you have something like "nearly witches"... that's been the renro anthem since like. a month after i made him LMAO ;;; i had JUST figured the plot points for doc! and v!, the long period of time we're apart, the way he fixates on spraying my perfume on the pillows when he feels lonely... and then while listening to my be.ato umi.neko playlist, i was reminded of this song and went ".....A!!!!!"

also anyone who's been following for a while knows i've wanted to avoid spotify and YT for playlists... but i realized many mobile devices straight up won't let you see tumblr custom themes anymore, so it isn't totally accessible. for my alt link, i went with YT -- partly bc spotify is constantly removing songs LMAO, and partly bc YT isn't losing much if i go elsewhere bc they're mainly video-focused. choosing not to use spotify feels like it might have SOME miniscule impact.

(this isn't to poo-poo anyone for using spotify btw -- there's a monopoly, and it isn't fair that we basically have two awful playlist-sharing choices!! this is just the logic for my personal purposes.)

i want to visit my college city with him so so badly ;__; college was genuinely hell and fucked me up for years after graduating, but savannah itself gives me so many feelings... i loooved walking from the seqa building, down bay street, doing some window shopping on my way to the dorms... going to river street with my class to take reference photos for projects... i'd love to show him the candy shops and restaurants down there and walk by some of my favorite historic buildings and squares! this ask is from a million years ago, but i got A Big Idea and i've been slowly working on it ever since ;;; i figured i should post a little wip at least -- i'll post the full illustration when it's done, but i have NO IDEA how long that's gonna take if only because idk yet if i want to fully color the bg or do something monochrome ksjdnfkn. at the very least, i think this would be fun to turn into an acrylic standee at some point hehe~

Safeship September Day 3: "Relaxing" / "Park Date"!

this one ended up fitting both themes, yippee!! i imagine we'd take one of ren's days off, rent a car, drive out of the city to find a nice park, and have a little picnic together! i get dizzy easily, though, so while walking back to the car i'd need to stop and take a break, and ren would provide a nice shoulder to lean on. 😌💕
