It's interesting that Ollie does most of the things Jason thinks Bruce doesn't do.
>Killing criminals, specifically avenging someone
As absolutely shit as Cry for Justice was, the fact that Ollie killed Prometheus for maiming Roy and killing Lian was absolutely in-character and Bruce wouldn't have done that. Bruce was dead at the time, but you bet your ass he would've tried to bring Ollie in after.
>Thinking about the little guy
A core aspect of Ollie's character is his leftism, I mean, his stance on looking out for the little guy. JLU isn't the only time he rejected joining the league because it was too far removed from the streets. He's more likely to protect people who loot supermarkets during a crisis than the owner who tries to shoo them out (This happened in 52). As much as bad writers would like you to think otherwise, Bruce would NOT condone rioting or looting of any kind.
>Looser parenting/Showing affection more.
Look, Ollie was a notoriously bad parent back in the day. But we can say that his hands-off approach did help Roy more than Bruce's my way or the highway type parenting with Jason. Both Roy and Jason had the same issues when they were kids (probably one of the reasons they get along so well, eh?), but at least Roy was allowed to go with the Titans. Being with kids his age probably helped immensely with his growth. And while Batman has trouble admitting he loves his Made Found family*, even too himself, Ollie doesn't have that problem. He tells his kids he loves them all the time and the amount of bear hugs he gives them cannot be counted on 4 hands.
Lest we forget that Bruce's way of ebbing Jason's anger issues was either to ignore it or telling him to his face that taking him in was a mistake.
Also Jason liking Ollie over Bruce is funny, because Bruce would fucking HATE it.
-*I know current writers, Tom the fanfic writer Taylor, like to write Bruce as someone who tells his wards he loves them every single opportunity he gets, but i'm sorry but that's just not him. Bruce is a severely emotionally stunted man and has trouble telling anyone he loves him. One might argue that this Alfred's fault, since he kept his distance emotionally until it was to late. a mistake he recognized and vowed to not make again with Dick, but that's a post for a different day.
When Belle came to the palace to choose the next king she didn't come alone. In addition to her over eager friend, Rio, she also brought two senior dogs with her as well. For the most part they were pretty low key, sleeping a good portion of the day and spending the remainder of it glued to her side. The oldest of the two, Holly, was a 14 year old pekingese who was mostly blind but still had amazing hearing. She survived on a combination of spite and a love of food. Sadie, a 9 year old pug, was her polar opposite. She loved everyone and thrived on attention. Her love of attention did cause a jealous streak, though, and she was also a little too intelligent for her own good.
The princes reactions to the new companions were a mixed bag. Leon, Jin, and Luke were delighted to have the dogs around while Yves was bemoaning the inevitable prospect of dog hair getting stuck to his clothes. Nokto and Licht were pretty much indifferent, not seeming to care one way or the other. Clavis simply took delight in everyone elses reactions.
Then there was Chevalier.
While he didn't say anything it was clear he wasn't exactly thrilled at the prospect of having the dogs around. Even more so because they seemed to take an immediate liking to him even though he did nothing but ignore them. For the most part they were content to just be where he was but there would be times when one of them would be bold and paw at him for pets. Still, he would ignore them.
As Belle grew closer to the second prince, spending time in his private library with him and taking walks in the garden, his attitude towards their constant presence started to slowly shift. It started with him giving them a clumsy pet when no one was looking to also just simply letting his hand rest on one of their heads while he was reading.
The biggest shift of all, though, was when he was sitting the gazebo to read and had them both resting on either side of his lap. They snored away peacefully as they enjoyed their pillow. The moment was only broken by Clavis strolling up and pausing at the picture in front of him.
He recovered soon enough, though, and burst out laughing loud enough to cause the previously sleeping dogs to give him an accusing look. Chevalier simply clenched his jaw before returning to his book, already imagining the 'fun' his fool of a brother was going to have with this.
so so random but since u were talking about touya and how he’s a little crazy about you do u think he would like any of our guy friends.. 😭
LMAOOOO. no. kxnfidjskshduskala i—hmm. no, i don't think so LOL i think he's an attention hog LOL and even if he wants to play that silliness like he doesn't care about us or whatever....he's NOT COOL with us giving our attention to someone else kafjdjskalql if they're his friends as well, like any of the league, i think he'd care less, but he still doesn't like you giving attention to anyone else LOL
Now I don’t mind this established trope at all where people are basically ants in the minds of dragons, but then, just once in any fantasy media or campaign I want a dragon or other massive higher creature that responds to the existence to humans in the exact way that I do to bugs.
Dragon that stops flying because it saw someone sleeping in a field and pokes them with a branch out of sheer curiosity to check if they’re dead or not.
Dragon that watches goblins scurry into one of their little huts and just pries the roof off to stare at them and look at the inside of their little shelter before putting it back down with a satisfied grin and leaving.
Dragon that sees a person treading water in the middle of a lake or the ocean, carefully plucks them out, and sets them down on dry land. Maybe puts a goat’s leg in their lap in case they need a snack. Also calls them “Harold” for no apparent reason.
Very young dragon that screams and freaks out upon seeing a bearded man with brightly colored robes and a pointed hat until it realizes the guy isn’t casting any spells. “Ohhhh you’re a wizard mimic” and then proceeds to handle the guy for a few minutes, fascinated. It also addresses the dude as “Craig” the entire time.
Dragon grabs a wild boar and repeatedly starts placing it in front of a town because it wants to see some hunting behavior in action.
Thief gets caught sneaking into a dragon’s lair. Resident reptile roars and is seemingly about to obliterate them when its mate suddenly comes rushing in with a giant cup. They have a grumbly back and forth before the thief is scooped up and promptly brought to be dropped off at the nearest random village. Dragon’s mate refers to the thief as “Sullivan SillyMan” the whole way.
Dragon that encounters a member of a humanoid race it has never heard of or seen before, at least in this region. Stops everything it’s doing and immediately kidnaps the individual. Speeds back to its lair and keeps them imprisoned while trying to flip through some tomes. Eventually drags out a magical item that they use to open a communication with another dragon, describing the prisoner, showing them the prisoner, exchanging friendly banter. There’s a whole 30 minute to and hour convo and everything. Dragon refers to the captive as “Thaddeus” the whole time. Last thing it does is sketch out a drawing of the person before taking them back to where they found them and turning them loose again.
Tenmyouji biker speech is like the most important scene in vlr to me. Without that it looks like the narrative never even questions akanes explanations and plans and motives and like i guess that's easy to do when you playing video game are also viewing it from a dozens of timelines at once as means to the true end perspective. And the other characters in that bonus chapter like clover and alice are so bizarrely understanding and not mad at her for kidnapping them. But it being junpei of all people who forces you to think about how every timeline goes on and is the single linear world there ever was for everyone else in it. When akanes plan is so much "i am going to kill jumpy 6000 000 times so i can make a happy world with jumpy :)". It's so important and it singlehandedly fixes something that wouldve really really bugged me and it makes akane and sigma better characters when it's explicit the game isnt just like exclusively believing theyre simply correct
I hope this isnt rude to ask but I see you talk about ocs but do you ever write about them?
it’s not rude to ask. i do write about them only i don’t post it anywhere. from what i’ve seen people are kind of weird about non tarnished ocs and to be honest it makes me a little anxious lmao
as a fellow orv fan i think you have good taste. what is this damn reincarnation you speak of............
damn reincarnation—officially titled "my blasted reincarnated life" but who the fuck is gonna take that seriously. not me!—is a manhwa about hamel, one of the heroes who saved the world from the demon kings, but who tragically died just before the party could kill all of them. in hamel's final moments, vermouth—the strongest of the heroes—promises to kill the rest of the demon kings no matter what. hamel then reincarnates as the descendant of vermouth to find the world at peace as they'd all hoped...except the final few demon kings are still around. despite their promise, vermouth struck a deal with them instead of finishing them off.
just why did this happen? did vermouth betray him, or were there other reasons? are the demon kings really to be trusted? why did he reincarnate as vermouth's descendant? what happened to his former companions? what did they have to say about all this? are any of them still alive? who can he trust? just what is he meant to do?
this is what damn reincarnation is about. basically, i like it because of two reasons. one, the writing is well done. it's paced well, with plenty of room for characters to grow, for events to be set up and revealed, etc. low low bar but it solidly clears it which is more than i can say for plent of other similar series. and two...oh my god fucking finally a reincarnation series where the reincarnation bit is vitally relevant for the entire rest of the plot, not just a Get Strong Quick scheme that's never actually plot relevant aside from maybe an identity crisis angst chapter. like. it is a Get Strong Quick scheme too dgmw, I'm not saying damn reincarnation is a masterpiece or reinventing the wheel or anything, but it's just really engaging and fun to read.
It's a very rare occasion when Roman is attracted to other men. More often than not they tend to be meta, some type of mutant perhaps or were AFAB themselves. Very few if any 'normal' males have ever caught his eye barring one or two exceptional individuals. He's got picky tastes and isn't afraid to hold men to -much- higher standards than when it comes to women.
being so against unfamiliar things is kind of a sad pov to have. Whether a book is old, a movie isn't made by the most popular studio full of famous actors based on an already recognizable IP, music by an indie band, whatever, especially if it's literally foreign, i think it is bad to confidently refuse to engage w different things. Like... why not put some effort into being curious about things in the world, instead of boasting about being comfortable and mocking others.
