When I met my first love.
When I first encountered Psychology, it seemed like a weird and odd subject. Whenever I went to a subject I liked like Biology or Music, there was Psychology nearby, whenever I met a new subject like Artificial Intelligence or Mathematics, there was Psychology. Eventually I started to learn more about Psychology and I was surprised. There was alot Psychology and I had in common, from the history of human development across generations to how humans react and learn about the world. Psychology introduced me to other subjects like Anthropology, Ethnomusicology, Statistics, Forensics and some of its family members like Cyberpsychology, Forensic Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Evolutionary Psychology. Psychology had a finger in almost every subject and we had alot in common. I was surprised I would ever like a subject this much since I usually filled my time with certain subjects that acted more Black or White, right or wrong or set clear standards, but Psychology saw the grey in subjects, the spectrum of possibilities and didn't have a properly defined limit. Psychology even helped me talk and like humans, even though I am quite misanthropic and introverted. Then one day I travelled to the UK and I thought that was the end between me and Psychology. I got settled, explored the area and reconnected with family members. On occasion, I'd miss Psychology and our days in high school. After a year though, I bumped into Psychology in college and we reconnected. We spoke again and I had a renewed strength I didn't know I had. I think that's when I realised, I fell in love with Psychology. I loved their interests, I love how it was curious about the world, I love how it always tries learn new things, I even fell in love with its mistakes and history, always trying to be better. Psychology had stolen and kept my heart safe, so I began to pursue Psychology. I first began to pursue Psychology in college while I had taken the basic equivalent education for this new contry, then I began pursuing Psychology to University, after a year of working in Starbucks I finally pursued Psychology in university until I got my degree. In university though, Psychology introduced me to wonderful people and opportunities, the one person Psychology introduced me to was one of the few people I had ever crushed on, so far I had only fallen in love with subjects, this was the first person in a while I had fallen for, and although we used the same pronouns, we shared a student flat, we spend loads of time together and I even held their hand, it wasn't meant to be. Psychology told me it was okay to pursue more than one love if it was honest and true, after all Psychology also taught me about healthy boundaries, healthy relationships and polyamory, but I was not ready. I then I heard a devastating news, even though me and my crush were compatible, they told me they were heteroromantic. I was devastated, but I couldn't be angry at them, they didn't do anything wrong. They were just being their amazing and wonderful self and I fell hard, they had nothing to be guilty or sad for. I had to be a good friend to them, we kept talking and being good friends, we hung out, we vented to each other, we had some fun and Psychology was there to comfort me in my loneliness. Even though I was furious, and jealous and annoyed and frustrated, I was happy I met this person, and I don't regret Psychology introducing me to them. After a while, I got my degree, the results weren't as high as I liked but Psychology reminded me that I could still do a masters and that we could still be together and help people. Psychology now is introducing me to Counselling and the three of us are planning on helping people as much as we can, they will also help me through with getting my masters in the future but right now I want to get acquainted with Counselling, help people, save some money and maybe live a little more. I may have not found my happy ending but Psychology reminded me that it isn't the end and I can't wait to see what adventures we get into.

Authors of Merlin BBC Fanfics needed (for my bachelor's thesis)
Do you write Fanfiction about the BBCs Merlin (2008) tv series, or have you written some a while ago? And have you – in the best case – published at least one of them on Archive of Our Own (AO3)? And do you have at least 30 minutes of time and are interested in an interview?
My name is Kay, and at the moment I am writing my bachelor’s thesis for “Media Science B.A.” at the University of Bayreuth. As a topic I chose fanfiction and fan communities in the context of the tv series Merlin (2008) with a focus especially on fanfiction authors for this series. And this is why I want to interview a few of them. It is not important whether you’ve been fan from the very first hour and wrote your first Merlin fanfiction back in 2008, or if you haven’t written any Merlin fanfiction at all for the last few years, or even just recently uploaded your very first one: Your impressions are still very interesting and important for me.
The interview should last about 30 minutes and would happen via Zoom. You need to be able to talk with me via microphone. It is not necessary for you to be on camera. And it can be held in English and German. I do need to record the interview so I can transcribe it later. But nobody besides me will have access to the recording itself and all recordings will be deleted after transcribing. Within the transcript, any data that could be used to clearly identify a person will be anonymised. So you are able to stay anonymous and your data is protected. Everything is in compliance with the european GDPR and the german BDSG (both are data protection guidelines) and participants will get full information regarding data protection beforehand.
Feel free to message me if you are interested. Also just comment or ask me via DM if you have any questions about this.
Thank you for reading and I am looking forward to messages from you! Feel free to repost this, it would help me a lot. :)

I have to start writing my bachelor's thesis. First chapter at least. Even though the topic is interesting, this is just... tragedy. I haven't written a single word yet because of the thinking that it would be trash and not about the topic/plagiarism.
Just... PAIN.
I want to return here to see that I did it.

GUESS FUCKING WHAT! I might be able to study Latin again!!
Soooo basically, I gave it up after 4 semesters bc you have to learn Ancient Greek for it and I didn't really have the patience and I kinda decided 8 yrs at school plus 2 yrs at uni is enough Latin.
Turns out I really really reallyyyy miss it. Sure, I still study my vocab, still practice my grammar from time to time. But like,,, that's not enough.
So I contacted my old uni whether they'd take me back for a master's degree (there's an option of an instant master's without a bachelor's if you're doing a master's in another two subjects which by the time I'm done with my double bachelor's I will be doing!). And they gave me a preliminary 'yes', official decision pending.
I really don't know what I'm trying to prove to myself here. But I'm seriously considering it.

getting a B during your bachelor's degree: "really good work! there are some minor errors here and there but nothing significant :^)"
getting a B during your master's degree: "you have no clear argument and have clearly not understood the articles you are citing. you and your entire family sucks ass. i don't understand why you want to enter academia at all as you are clearly incapable of forming meaningful sentences. overall good job :)"

Great phone call with my advisor. She got me switched from a bachelor's degree in business management to a bachelor of science degree with a major in liberal studies and a minor in fine arts, communication, and psychology. She did the degree plan for me, applied all of the credits I have to this new degree plan, got me a time line set up of my classes I still need, and have me an estimated graduation date. If all goes as planned, I'll have my bachelor of science degree in summer 2024. Thats amazing! I'm so excited!

While the best astrophysics colleges in the nation are up north or out west, the best college in Florida is none other than my alma mater UF. I would ideally like to get as far away from this stinking cesspit of a state as possible, but to go to school anywhere else I'd need to spend a year establishing residency or pay exorbitant out of state tuition. UF is, for me, the cheapest option. I graduated with my BA in 2018, and they accept about a third of all astrophysics applicants, so I stand a good chance of being re-accepted for this BS program (not grad school; I'm looking for a second bachelor's in a non-useless field). Do alumni get preference? I don't have much else going for me, but they already have my high school test scores and my transcripts, so I think I have a leg up on other incoming freshmen (tentatively). Next spring I'm going to apply for fall 2024, brushing up on all the math I've forgotten in the mean time. It's gonna be an uphill battle all the way, but I could use the challenge. It's better than sitting around twiddling my thumbs waiting for something good to happen by itself.

It's been a while.
As you see, getting back to posting daily did not work out as I hoped. Turns out, writing your Bachelors' Thesis while already being enrolled in a Master's Degree can lead to extra stress.
I still wanted to update y'all on here since a few of my interviewees are following me on here.
The Thesis is finished. I'm not exactly content with it. (It felt way too crammed, and I don't know if my findings are as clear as I want them to be.) But it is done.
Currently I am waiting for the grade and the detailed report for it. Afterwards I'll clean up the summary of my Thesis. (That will be sent out at my interviewees.)
And I'll explain a bit more about what I tried to do and what I've found on here. So don't worry if you don't get the detailed abstract, I will post about everything important. I actually want to keep this blog active. But its topic might change a bit after concluding my Bachelors Thesis on here. It'll still include Fan Studies and Media as general subjects. But I'll also post about what I'm doing in my Masters program.
See y'all hopefully soon!

Aight so, I've got about 2 terms left after this week before I get my Bachelor's degree and I REALLY wanna do my best to stay on top of things so the next 6 months go as smoothly as humanly possible.
So I'm going to see if making posts about what I'm working on for school and for work, in general, will help me stay on task and promote accountability. Cuz let's be honest, my neurodivergent ass could use the motivation, and posting consistently for an audience, even a small one, might be just the thing to force me to sit down and work even if my brain really doesn't feel like it.
I've always enjoyed Studyblr and the motivation it brings me to see others working so hard, so I'm gonna give it a shot!
Can't guarantee the posts I make will always be the most aesthetically pleasing and my chaotic nature is bound to shine through, but if my posts help give you the motivation and inspiration to work on a task that's been bogging you down, I'll know it was all worth it.
Let's work hard together okay?
---
3/12/23: We're starting off strong with a research paper that I had to work on today. It's technically due tonight and I didn't really start it until the beginning of my desk shift (I work in a dormitory), so definitely a prime example of my bad habit of procrastination. But all in all, I'm just glad to be almost done with it and then I can focus on my finals for the rest of this week.
It helps that I got Mango Gamer Supps keeping me awake! The Emirichu Exclusive Waifu cup is really cute too! Glad I got to snag it when I got the chance! Hope to add the new Gamer Girl cup to the collection too if I can catch one before they sell out! ^^

How can I make my career in teaching after a BCom?
If you are passionate about teaching and have completed a BCom degree, there are several avenues available for you to pursue a career in teaching. Teaching is a rewarding profession that can provide you with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of your students. Here are some steps you can take to make a career in teaching after a BCom:
Identify Your Area of Expertise: The first step in making a career in teaching is to identify your area of expertise. As a BCom graduate, you can consider teaching subjects related to commerce such as accounting, economics, business studies, and management.
Obtain a Teaching Qualification: To become a teacher, you need to have a teaching qualification. You can either pursue a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or a Master of Education (M.Ed) degree. A B.Ed degree is typically a two-year program, while an M.Ed degree is a one-year program. You can choose the one that suits your career aspirations.
Gain Practical Teaching Experience: Gaining practical teaching experience can be very beneficial when pursuing a career in teaching. You can consider volunteering at schools or coaching institutes, which can help you gain valuable experience in classroom management, lesson planning, and student engagement.
Apply for Teaching Jobs: Once you have obtained your teaching qualification and have gained some practical experience, you can start applying for teaching jobs. You can search for job openings on various job portals, school websites, or by networking with other teachers in your area.
Enhance Your Professional Skills: As a teacher, it is important to continually enhance your professional skills. You can attend workshops, seminars, and training programs related to teaching, which can help you improve your teaching methodologies, learn new techniques, and stay updated with the latest teaching trends.
Consider Private Tutoring: Private tutoring can be a lucrative career option for teachers. You can consider offering private tutoring services to students who need extra help with their studies. You can start by advertising your services through social media platforms or by joining tutoring platforms such as Superprof or TutorMe.
Consider Online Teaching: Online teaching has become a popular career option for teachers, especially during the pandemic. You can consider teaching online courses or conducting virtual tutoring sessions. There are several online teaching platforms such as Udemy, Coursera, and Skillshare that offer teaching opportunities to professionals.
In conclusion, a BCom degree can provide a strong foundation for a career in teaching. By obtaining a teaching qualification, gaining practical teaching experience, and continually enhancing your professional skills, you can make a successful career in teaching. Additionally, considering private tutoring or online teaching can offer you even more flexibility and opportunities in your career.
