ngl, I wish there were physical meetups/social settings for theistic satanists. The Satanic Temple has different chapters you can join (there's one for most states, if not all the states), but at least for the chapter near me, it's strictly non-theistic and are not welcoming to theistic satanists. I know TST is overall atheistic, but I wish there was a similar group for us theistic satanists, or at least a group that is welcoming towards us so we could have some form of physical community ☹️

A pastor harassing Satanists and Luciferians

Yesterday I received a message from a guy, allegedly wanting to learn more about Luciferianism. It seemed sketchy, but I decided to provide information without getting personal - however, I quickly had to block him as he started to creep on me (and also misgendered me despite referring to my bio before). Today, he followed and messaged me from another account, disrespecting firm boundaries I established by blocking him. And I know at least one other person messaged by him. I decided to publish his messages, so you all can see and block him. Be safe.

One thing I love about my birthname Gabriel is that despite it meaning “God is my strength,” “God is my strong man” or “hero of God" and despite being named after the angel from the Christian Bible, I personally ended up being an atheist (with views similar to Atheistic Satanists) and then kin myself to demons.

Maybe I should change it to Gabryl (Gay-brill) so people can stop calling me Gabrielle.

Some books to get you started with Satanism (that aren't LaVey's bible)

Please note that none of these are simple "Satanism 101" titles. I don't really believe there is such a thing, at least not for me. However there is a good reason for each one being on the list, which I will explain. There also won't be any magic or witchcraft recommendations on this list, because while magic is absolutely compatible with Satanism, Satanism is a religion and witchcraft is a practice. I may update this list periodically, so if you reblog or save this post, check back in on it once in a while.

Paradise Lost by John Milton. I'd argue this text is one of the closest things Satanism has to "scripture," if there is a Satanic canon then Milton is absolutely a part of it. It can be a bit of a tricky read but it's a beautiful poem loaded with imagery and metaphor to feed the soul. If the style is a struggle for you to read, I'd recommend listening to an audio version, it's very beautiful when read aloud.

Revelations from the Christian Bible. Yes, I'm serious. If you, as a Satanist, are going to read any part of the Bible, make it Revelations. It's poetic and esoteric and full of references to Satan and the demonic.

Inferno by Dante Alighieri. The one might surprise some people, as Satan absolutely isn't depicted in a flattering light in it. However, Inferno has had a surprising amount of influence on the Christian understanding of Hell and the demonic, which is part of why I feel it is valuable, as Satanism is derived from Christianity. Many stereotypes about what one may expect when one gets to hell comes from this book. Furthermore, it's just a fun read.

Origins of Satan by Elaine Pagels. This one is a historical study of Satan as a religious figure, and I think it ought to be required reading for anyone getting into Satanism. Satan isn't just a vague or meaningless deity, he has been weaponized by Christianity throughout the centuries to target very specific groups of people for specific reasons. If you are to take on the mantle of Satanist, I recommend understanding what sort of legacy you're associating yourself with. You are becoming an adversary to God - but what, to the Christian eye, makes one an enemy?

If your "god" is the only thing keeping you from committing heinous acts, I don't think you should be allowed in a civilized society. At all. Do you realize just how INSANE that sounds? Sausage sitting in a pew in his cathedral, hands clasped together tightly with a sunflower rosary between his palms.

He's not praying, not actively, but sitting in his church gives him comfort. There's actually no thoughts swimming around his mind for once. His head is an empty echo chamber with no sound to echo.

His eyes are wide and his whole body is shaking. He's crying as well, a steady stream of hot tears run down his cheeks and drip from his beard.

There's no way he just met Santa Pearla. His Saint Pearl. And she's a janitor?

The lady in a silky soft green dress - blooming with fresh sunflowers and vines - looked so much like her. Saint Pearl. But this lady from a foreign world insisted she was not a god. She said she handled trash all day, cleaned floors with a mop and a dirty pair of overalls.

Sausage sobbed, bowing his head behind his clasped hands.

Her name was Pearl though. Just not his Pearl. She looked so much like Santa Pearla, she sounds like her too. The resemblance was uncanny, terrifyingly so.

When she stood at the head of the church, in the sunlight, she looked beautiful. She was breathtaking with her crown of sunflowers catching the light and illuminating the petals like a halo, and the way her hair fell around her face and practically shimmered in the light.

Sausage had fallen to his knees and wept over her beauty - or maybe it was because he had convinced himself she was his god. That he was seeing his god in his church, speaking to her.

What a foolish thing to believe.

Sausage's hands fell. He curled in on himself in the pew. His rosary fell to the ground, around his feet.

Were his beliefs founded upon a false god? Had he somehow convinced himself such a woman was worth worshipping? Was everything a lie? Had he been praying to, believing in, raving about a lie? Was his church built for a lie?

He was going to puke if he didn't stop thinking. He needed a distraction he needed to talk to someone he-

He needed his religion. He needed his Saint. He couldn't lose his faith. What - or who - would he have left then?

Sausage leaned down and picked up his rosary, still shaking, and held it between his palms once again.

And he prayed.
