kiyoomi sakusa.
back when he was just a 16 year old in high school, he was considered a genius. a prodigy.
what kind of second-year was one of the top three spikers in the nation? outrageous.
and now he's 27, playing for one of the best teams in the world, the msby black jackals, with his former teammates and some new, destroying team after team.
he's a neat freak, a blunt teammate, completely anti-social, and a heavy hitter on spikes.
but what only you knew was different.
he's also a great cook, a passionate lover that doesn't need just words to show his love and a gorgeous dick that you swore to your best friend punctures your lungs every time it's inside you.
speaking of which, when was the last time it was inside of you?
Tumblr media
"sweetheart," he calls from the kitchen. "will you come taste test this soup for me?"
summers were either spent at kiyoomi's parent's old beach house in malibu or the lake lodge in the grassy plains of switzerland. this year, to relax before his games in the fall and winter, and before you got married, you two decided to stay at the lodge. it was a two-story house with a veranda on the top floor and a 40 acre property. you lounge on the couch in the living room in one of his spare jerseys, watching TV before he calls you over.
"sure," you stand up, padding over to the kitchen.
oh, good god.
he looks like a dream. shirtless with gray sweats and curly hair slightly damp from a recent shower. not to mention that packing bulge poking out of his sweats. kiyoomi turns towards you, holding out a spoonful of his special potato soup.
"here," he tips your chin to gently spoon-feed you. it tastes wonderful, to say in the very least. he turns back around, sighing as he washes the spoon off with soap and water. typical.
"i feel like there's something off about it," he continues. "i can't really tell."
"maybe a little more salt?" you say, leaning on the counter, licking your lips. "pepper?"
"pepper?" he frowns. "maybe so-"
his sentence is cut off as you tug at the waistband of his sweats. he gulps. when you look at him with those eyes, and that little pout in your upper lip, who is he to refuse?
"baby," his voice turns a little breathy and he turns the stove off. "you know what you're doing, you know damn well-"
"when's the last time we fucked, kiyoo?" you wheedle. "we haven't since we came here. it's been weeks, i just need you."
he closes his eyes and runs his fingers through his hair. composure, he reminds himself. i need to focus on composure.
but he looks back at you, and there is no way he's going to say no. he licks his lips, turns to the sink, and furiously washes his hands and dries them off before grabbing you by the waist and hoisting you over his shoulder.
you yelp, giggling. "did you really have to wash your hands before this?" you ask as you're carried to the master bedroom upstairs. kiyoomi's hand reaches up to knead your thigh.
"i don't want my pussy to get dirty." he says quietly, before shoving open the door with his knee and placing you on the bed, reaching to remove both your clothing. he cups your breasts, groaning softly. you bite your lip to keep yourself from making too much noise.
he lifts your upper back to suckle on it with his eyes closed, and you moan.
"kiyoo," you mewl, reaching down to slip your fingers under your panties. his eyebrows furrows as he feels you move, and he gently grabs your hand.
"my pussy," he repeats against your skin. kiyoomi nips at your bud before trailing his lips down your abdomen, your navel, and the apex of your thighs. he slides your panties down and spreads you apart, blinking slowly at the slick sight, and humming in satisfaction.
"look at that," he coos, leaning down to give your clit a kiss, and you whimper, sliding your hands into his downy hair. "shit, look at how soaked you are." he licks a lazy circle against your pearl, and you bite back a shriek from the jolt of pleasure. "didn't know you were this needy, baby, shoulda told me sooner,"
you squeeze your eyes shut, your grip tightening on his hair.
"easyyyy," he soothes. "keep your eyes on me, alright? i'm gonna put a finger in now. remember your safe words," slowly, agonizingly slowly, he dips his middle finger in. from playing volleyball for over a decade, his fingertips are rough and calloused, his knuckles are exaggerated, and they move smoother inside your tight channel. you moan heavily.
"mnnn- fuck, oh my god..." you warble.
"i thank god for granting me this pretty pussy every waking moment of my life," he stuffs a second finger inside, pressing down on that particularly spongy spot that makes you writhe. "mm. guess i found the good spot," he slowly fucks his fingers in and out, eyebrows knitted tightly together in concentration. you whine, tugging at his hair as he sucks your clit as well.
"good girl," he croons. "look at that. taking my fingers like a champ, huh? y'close?" he delivers another kiss to your bud, and takes his fingers out to plunge his tongue in, mouthing at your labia. "holy shit," kiyoomi mutters. your lower stomach tightens as he continues, praising you and lapping at your cunt with abandon.
"kiyoo, shit, feels- ahn-!" your eyes cloud with tears.
"i know, baby, i know, feels nice, hm?" he licks faster, pressing down on your stomach.
"ahn-" you cry out urgently. "f-fuck, i'm gonna-" the tension in your stomach releases, and you squirt, releasing your fluids over his lower face and neck.
"oh, god, i just squirted all over you," you mumble, embarrassed. you know he'll be grossed out, but instead he looks some off his lip, tasting it.
"could use some salt," he smiles wickedly as he spreads your thighs apart further and positions himself above your entrance. "maybe pepper?"

Your father was a complex character, to say the least.
He was every bit the callous ruler that he portrayed to the world, but inside his blackened, hateful heart there was a soft spot. You. His only daughter.
While your brothers were pitted against each other and forced to fight for his approval, you couldn’t do much wrong.
He was protective of you to a fault. So much so, that you were never allowed to court anyone. No one was good enough for his precious pup. Not that you were very interested in males anyway, having grown up with a litter of brothers. You found males irritating at the best of times, and utterly repulsive at the worst.
You were closest to Beron’s eldest and youngest sons – Eris and Lucien. They were very protective of you too, but in more of an annoying way. They always had your best interests at heart.
You were never allowed out of the Forest House unsupervised. Adventuring with your brothers was the only time you got let off your leash. You could run with the hounds, fish in the stream with Lucien or just simply be – relaxing under a tree, reading aloud to Eris.
You often dreamed of a world where you were free. Free from your father’s strict rule. Free to do as you please. Free to be whoever you wanted to be.
But alas, this was not a world for the dreamers.
————
The conflict with Hybern was drawing nearer and your father was summoned to attend a meeting with the six other High Lords of Prythian.
Your entire family was to attend, to showcase the strength of Beron’s brood.
You enter the meeting room together, sticking close to Eris and trying to seem confident, bored even. You keep your head held high, ignoring your brothers’ sneers beside you.
“Enough” Eris murmurs, calling all three brothers in line.
You take in the grand room around you, and the wealth of power convened within.
You recognise most faces from Under the Mountain but some were new to you, their allegiance given away by the shades of midnight blue and black that they wore - the Night Court. The Court that your father despises the most. The Court you were raised to hate.
The High Lord, Rhysand, sat with a casual grace, his great taloned wings stretched out behind him. Beside him was his High Lady, Feyre - the saviour of Prythian - in a glittering dress that looked like it was made of pure starlight.
They were a beautiful couple, and you wonder how evil the male could truly be if he proclaimed his wife as his equal, something that had never been done in all of Prythian’s history.
The rulers of the Night Court meet your curious gaze; for a second there is understanding on their faces and you have to remind yourself not to smile.
You break their stare and your eyes flit over two more winged males and a female who shared the same golden hair and blue-grey eyes as Feyre before they settled on a blonde female.
To describe her as breathtaking would be an understatement.
She needed no introduction. Not with the rage upon her face as she watched your family, the pure venom in her eyes.
The Morrigan.
You’d never met the female your eldest brother was formerly betrothed to, and he never spoke about her.
Morrigan’s fury wanes as she looks at you. For a moment you can see behind the mask she was wearing. You can feel the pain underneath, you can see the love for her family and her Court. Only for a moment before she built that wall back up again, sealing herself within.
You knew her anger towards your family was justified and you couldn’t help but empathise with that. Like so many women, your mother included, she’d been dealt a losing hand.
You successfully kept your eyes off Morrigan for the remainder of the meeting, remembering the role you had to play – the shy, pretty pawn of the Autumn Court.
If you failed at this game, the results would be devastating.
————
After the meeting ended so terribly, you were hiding out in Eris’s quarters, avoiding the path of Beron’s temper. The pair of you were curled up in front of the crackling fire with Clove, your favourite hound, asleep in your lap.
Eris has been quiet since returning from the Dawn Court. His mind was surely racing after the encounter with her.
You turn towards your brother slowly, breaking the silence, “You never mentioned how beautiful she is. You never speak about her at all.”
Eris knew exactly who you meant. “What’s there to say?” He shrugs, “She’s free from the burden of being with me in this festering court.”
“You think so low of yourself, Eris. Someone will be very fortunate to have you doting on them one day.”
Eris wraps his arm around you and kisses the top of your head affectionately. “Until then it’s just you and me, bright spark.”
You smile at his nickname for you, one he gave you when you were just a faeling. “Don’t forget Clove!” You exclaim, ruffling the hound’s coat.
————
In the months following the final battle against Hybern, Eris spent a lot of time in the Night Court, working to secure a strong alliance for Autumn.
Eris was about to head off again, to a ball at the infamous Court of Nightmares.
You hadn’t been able to stop thinking about Morrigan.
You needed to see her again, but she’d never step foot in Autumn.
You’d have to go to her.
By the grace of the Cauldron, Beron said yes to you attending the ball with Eris. You were both so stunned by his answer, that you were lost for words. Before dismissing you both, your father had one order for Eris: Do not let her out of your sight.
And so you found yourself in the Night Court, deep inside the Court of Nightmares.
You did your best to bite down on your anxiety as you walked up the dimly lit hallway leading to the ballroom. The intricate carvings of beasts on the walls only add to your feeling of unease.
You breeze through the large doors, arm-in-arm with your brother. The two of you are the epitome of Autumn.
Eris wears a suit in a deep burgundy colour, much like the spiced wine you drink to warm your belly on a crisp evening. Your gown of burnt orange swishes around you as you walk, the sequins catching in the faelights, twinkling like the embers of a dwindling fire.
All eyes turn to you as you walk down the aisle, but you don’t notice them.
All you see is her, and that golden thread connecting your souls, sealing your fate.
Oh no.
Oh no no no.
Panic floods your veins as you realise who you’re walking towards.
Your mate.
Your brother’s ex-fiancé. Your father’s enemy.
Not her, it can’t be her.
Not here, with so many people watching.
Your feet slow to a stop halfway to the dais and you turn to Eris. Concern flickers on his face - he can sense something is wrong, he has no idea just how bad it is.
You drop his arm, mouthing ‘I’m sorry’, before disappearing into the air.
You don’t know where you’re headed or what you will do next. All you know is you need to leave. Now. And get someone safe.
The thought, somewhere safe, echoes through your mind as you appear in a clearing atop a mountain.
The sun had just dipped below the horizon, making the sky glow a brilliant shade of orange. The air is cold against your skin, and you rub your hands on your biceps in an attempt to regain some warmth. In moments like these, you are thankful for the fire within your veins.
You look around, attempting to glean your location. You spot a cabin on the other side of the clearing. As you turn towards it, the front door swings open. An invitation.
You approach the open door and wonder if there’s a spell on the cabin, tricking you into a false sense of safety to lure you inside to your death.
You glance around, the only movement you spy is the rustling of leaves in the wind.
You peek inside and see the small dwelling is well-maintained, but there doesn’t appear to be anyone home. It looks comfortable and homey, with whimsical paintings of vines and flowers framing the door.
Whatever is inside that cabin can’t be worse than the wrath you surely face back in Autumn, so you step over the threshold.
————
Rhysand
Rhys watches intently as his guests from Autumn walk towards the dais.
Eris is his usual cocky self, strutting beside his sister. Every bit the High Lord’s heir. Y/N looks like a living fire, glowing as she walks beside her brother. Despite being siblings, there were clear differences between the two fae. Unlike Eris, who Rhys found to be insufferable at times, Y/N had a kind warmth to her. A sweetness that somehow hadn’t been soured by her father over the years.
She was like the flames that dance in a hearth. The kind of fire used to warm a home or cook a comforting meal that chases away the cold and loneliness.
Of course, those flames could still burn you if you got too close.
Y/N stops in the middle of the room. Her eyes not moving from Rhys’s cousin, stood beside his throne.
‘Something is wrong,’ Feyre says into his mind.
Rhys quickly throws a glamour over his guests, shielding them and his Inner Circle from the rest of his court.
Rhys glances at Mor, whose eyes are glued to the flame incarnate before her.
The expression on Y/N’s face is pure terror as she disappears into a cloud of smoke.
Eris grabs at the wisps of darkness but it’s too late. Y/N is gone. His eyes are filled with panic as he turns back to Rhys.
“You Vanserras love to put on a show.” Rhys drawls. “How did she get out past the wards?”
Eris rakes his fingers through his hair, tousling the slicked strands. “I don’t know. I didn’t even know she could winnow.”
Rhys clicks his tongue, “It seems the little fox was hiding some tricks.”
Eris looks Rhys in the eye. “We need to find her,” He says.
Rhys raises a brow at the Autumn heir. “We?”
“Beron will kill us all if she’s gone missing. His only order was not to let her out of my sight.” Eris shakes his head in shock.
‘Azriel, go. See if your shadows can find her.’ Rhys orders his spymaster mind-to-mind before the male vanishes into the shadows.
“If she’s still in this court, we’ll find her,” Rhys says calmly, expertly masking his concern that the Jewel of Autumn vanished while in his court. “Let’s go, we can continue this little chat somewhere without an audience.” He rises to his feet, dropping the shield and addressing his court. “I’m afraid I have to leave you to play amongst yourselves. Keir, don’t make too much trouble while I’m gone.”
Rhys strides out of the ballroom with Feyre by his side. Eris follows behind closely with Cassian and Mor on his tail.
————
Once out of view, Rhys takes Eris’s hand and winnows him to the Moonstone Palace on top of the mountain. Rhys heads straight to one of the living rooms, opting for somewhere more comfortable to continue the conversation. He silently requests Nuala bring up a tea service as he sits comfortably in one of the plush armchairs.
Eris slumps down in the chair opposite Rhys, rubbing his temples. His complexion has paled to a colour much like the white stone walls of the palace. Eris’s usual swagger and charm disappeared with his sister.
“I shouldn’t have agreed to bring her,” Eris sighs, hands ruffling his red hair.
“I’m surprised Beron let her out of the palace,” Rhys admits. As much as he detests the male, he can’t help but feel sorry for him.
“No one is more surprised than me,” Eris says. “She was the one who asked to come. When Y/N really wants something, not even my father can say no.” Eris smiles softly, as if picturing his sister’s compelling arguments.
Rhys nods in thanks to Nuala as she sets down a tea service. He starts pouring a cup for Eris as he turns towards him. “What happened then?” Rhys asks. “Y/N looked as if she’d seen a ghost.”
“The bond snapped,” a female voice says from the doorway.
Both Rhys and Eris’s eyes snap to Mor as she strides across the room and sits across from them on the sofa.
“What bond? And who with?” Cassian asks from behind her.
“With me,” Mor says quietly.
Rhys can’t keep the shock from his face. “But you’re…” He trails off, gesturing at Mor’s figure.
Mor just sighs, “Cousin, I’ve always known that I preferred the company of females. That’s why he, you know.” She risks a glance at Eris who is meticulously masking his real feelings as he sips on his tea.
“Cauldron, I didn’t think I was that bad,” Cassian jokes.
Mor rolls her eyes and nods her head towards Eris. “He knew. That’s why he didn’t touch me.  That day on the autumn border, Eris gave me my freedom. I let you believe him to be horrible because I wasn’t ready to embrace that part of myself, truthfully I’m still not.” Feyre places her hand on Mor’s arm as she makes her admission.
“We’d never judge you for that, Mor,” Rhys says sincerely.
“It’s been instilled in me since I was a faeling, the fear is not something one forgets easily,” Mor shrugs.
“When did it snap for you?” Eris asks, his face still void of emotion.
“At the High Lord’s meeting,” Mor responds. “That’s the only reason I came today, hoping to see her again. I know Beron would never let her be with me, but I still had some shred of hope. Clearly, he’s poisoned her view of me…”
“He hasn’t,” Eris interrupts. “You’re not a frequent topic of conversation, and Y/N never asked about you until after that meeting. She never said, but I suspect it’s why she wanted to come today. In some ways, she’s lucky that she’s been so sheltered. She’s still kind. She saw how all of you acted that day, she saw through the masks. My father’s only weakness is her. Beron is completely blind where Y/N is involved. He will start a war if we don’t find her.”
“We’ll find her,” Rhys says. “Do you have any idea where she would go?”
Eris rubs his chin as he contemplates. “She doesn't ever go anywhere unsupervised. She loves being in the forest, but there’s no way she could transport herself that far.”
“I’ve got Azriel searching,” Rhys says. “There’s not much more you can do right now. You can stay here, I’ll show you to your suite.”
Eris nods, “Thank you, but if you think I will sleep while my baby sister is missing, you are sorely mistaken.”
Rhys smirks back at the male. “Oh I know, but this way you can sulk in private.”
————
Eris
Eris is pacing in his room when there’s a soft knock on the door. He exhales before opening the door to the blonde female in the hall. Eris folds his arms across his chest and inclines his head, inviting her inside.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell them the truth,” Mor says. “I’ve been lying to myself for so long, I’d convinced myself that part of me didn’t exist.”
“There’s always got to be a villain, I understand why you did it. But thank you for apologising.”
“This bond... It is not going to go well with your father.”
Eris nods, agreeing with her. “We’ll deal with that later. When I’m High Lord, you’ll be welcome in Autumn again, if you ever wish to return.”
“Will you have me over for tea?” Mor scoffs. “I don’t know how this will work with Y/N or if she even wants it. But I’d like to try if she does.”
Eris straightens defensively. “I’ll support whatever will make her happy,” He says.
The pair stand in silence for a few moments before Eris smiles sadly, shaking his head. “I should’ve known,” He laughs. “When she was a child, she never wanted me to play as a prince, we both were princesses… As she grew, she never took much interest in courting anyone. If Beron had forbade me or my brothers there would’ve been a riot on his hands. But Y/N was never phased by it. Truthfully, I think she was relieved.”
Mor returns his smile. “I’m glad she has you. We’ll find her, don’t worry too much.”

In the cabin, you stare at the eyes on the wall. You would know them anywhere.
You knew your mate had been here, maybe it was even her cabin. Deep down, your heart knew you’d be safe here.
You feel so tired, right to your core. You didn’t know you could winnow, your leash had been so tight you never even tried. Mother knows how far you just travelled.
A steaming cup of tea appears in your hands, the scent of cinnamon and chamomile reminding you of home. Somehow, the cabin knew what would calm you down.
You pull a blanket around your shoulders and sit on the lounge, worn with decades of use, admiring the colourful paintings adorning the walls and every surface. You can tell this place is well-loved, and many happy moments have been spent here.
Exhaustion nags at you and you fight your drooping lids until you can’t any longer. You slip into the darkness of sleep, wrapped in the blanket, with your mate watching over you.
————
You’re woken by a cool sensation on your ankle. You look down and see a wisp of shadows wreathing around. It circles a few times before disappearing into the air.
It’s early in the morning, the first light creeping over the mountains outside. You’re still wearing your ball gown, the fabric creased from your slumber.
Your head spins as you remember the events of the night before.
‘How long have I been sleeping? Oh gods, Eris must be going out of his mind…’
A sharp knock on the door pulls you from your thoughts.
You stand slowly, stretching your stiff limbs and go to answer it – for a moment you forget it’s not your house.
One of Rhys’s winged friends stands on the porch. “Y/N, are you okay?” He looks you up and down, taking in your dishevelled hair and wrinkled dress. “You’re not injured? And how did you get inside?”
“I’m okay, I guess. The door opened for me. It felt safe.”
The male nods, “Eris is worried about you, I’ve just let Rhys know I found you and you’re unharmed.”
“Thank you,” You say.
“Mor wants to speak to you, is that okay?”
You nod in answer, “Yeah, we probably need to have a chat.”
“She’ll be here soon, can I get you anything?” He offers.
You shake your head, pulling the blanket further around you.
“Okay, stay inside, she’ll be here soon.”
————
Eris
Keeping to his word, Eris didn’t sleep at all. He was watching the sunrise breaking over the mountains when he heard a knock at the door. “Come in,” Eris calls out.
Rhys enters the room. “Azriel found her, she’s safe, Mor has gone to bring her back.”
Every cell Eris was tensing is released at Rhys’s words. He tries to roll his shoulders but they are stiff after a tense night.
“Are you sure that’s the best idea?” Eris asks. “She ran because of the mating bond.”
“Mor wanted to speak to her privately. They are the only ones who understand.”
Eris nods, feeling relieved that his sister has been found. He’ll be able to rest once he lays eyes on her again. “Thank you, for helping,” He says.
Rhys waves a hand dismissively. “It does work in my favour to return her safely,” Rhys drawls. “But I would do it anyway.” He turns to leave, “You should eat something, it’s been a long night and we have much to discuss now.”

You do your best to freshen up while you wait. You smooth out your hair and change into some fresh clothes summoned by the cabin – a soft v-neck camisole, cropped at the navel and flowing harem pants, more skin than you’ve ever shown outside your bathing room. The matching set is a brilliant shade of forest green that perfectly complements your hair.
A knock sounds on the door, announcing your mate's arrival.
“Hello Morrigan,” you say stiffly, unsure where to look or where to put your hands. You settle with holding them clasped at your front to stop their trembling.
“Just Mor if you like, can we talk?”
You nod and sit across from each other, the air hangs heavily around you.
Mor sighs, breaking the tense silence. “I guess it snapped for you?”
You nod, the words not making it past your lips.
“This is a cruel twist of fate,” She laughs darkly, leaning forward on her knees.
“Do you not want it?” You ask, trying to hide the hurt in your voice.
“No,” Mor answers quickly. “That’s not what I meant. With my history and our fathers, I don’t see how it could work.”
Why beat around the bush, you suppose? “What happened, with my brother?”
Mor looks at you curiously. “He never told you?”
You shake your head.
“We were amicable, not quite friends, never lovers. I confided in him about my preference for–” She waves at you. “Female companionship… and that I didn’t want to be someone’s wife. Of course, my father had other plans. I ruined them by… sullying myself, and my father dumped me on the border of your court. I’ll spare you the grizzly details right now, but your brother gave me my freedom. I wasn’t ready to tell people the truth, so I let my friends believe Eris to be a monster. In truth, I was the monster all along.”
You allow her candid words to wash over you. What your brother had done, allowing himself to be the villain when nothing was further from the truth.
You stand, moving to sit closer to Mor.
“I never believed the things Beron said about you,” You admit, looking into Mor’s warm brown eyes. Eyes that are full of hope.
“I know that I’m sheltered, but I see the way he treats people. Even my brothers, Lucien especially. I do love him as a father, but as a person… he is awful. I long for the day when Eris takes over Autumn, and I can finally be free. Until then, I will dream of a better world.”
A tear falls from the corner of Mor’s eye and you rest a hand on her knee.
You steady your breathing before continuing, “I’ve never had much interest in males and never allowed myself to consider alternatives. I’d like to try this, if you want to. I know courting in secret will be difficult, but I’m willing to give it a go. I’m ready to start building the world I’ve been dreaming of.”
Tears stream down Mor’s face and she pulls you into a hug. You savour the moment and for the first time, you allow yourself to hope.
————
“ERIS!” You call out, running towards your brother and jumping into his arms.
He catches you easily, wrapping his arms around you. “I was so worried, bright spark,” He says softly into your hair.
“I know. I’m sorry to do that to you. I panicked. I didn’t even mean to winnow, it just happened.”
“I’m just glad you’re okay. But maybe don’t show that trick to anyone else,” Eris puts you down and stands back, taking in your appearance. “It seems this court suits you, Y/N,” He smiles. “Come now,” he extends his arm for you to take, “We’ve got business to discuss with Rhysand. We need to figure out something official so that Father will let you return here with me.” He winks as he walks you to meet with the High Lord.
————
You’re convinced your brother is a genius.
He told your father that you and the High Lady got on well and that your presence allowed him and Rhys to get on with business while the females ‘talk about fashion and whatever else they like to discuss.’
You had batted your lashes at your father, insisting that the High Lady needed some help with fae etiquette and that she was seeking your help on how to be a proper lady.
Beron scoffed at the thought of the ‘wild human harlot’ ever being considered a lady, but he couldn’t say no to your wide-doe eyes. Especially not when Eris mentioned that the friendship could give Autumn more sway in political discussions.
Eris winnowed you both to Rhysand’s Moonstone Palace for your regular ‘meeting’, where Rhys, Feyre and Mor were waiting for you.
Mor looks ethereal under the starry night sky. Her hair flows like liquid gold in soft waves down her back. Her dress is a deep wine red, paying homage to your home court and hugs her curves perfectly. Your eyes linger on her figure for a few moments before moving back to her face.
Thank you, Mother.
Rhys steps forward. “Welcome back, we won’t be staying in the Court of Nightmares this time,” He explains. “We thought it was time to show you our true home.”
Feyre smiles warmly, her eyes twinkle with anticipation.
Rhys takes Eris’s hand and Mor takes yours, winnowing you into the sky above a sparkling city.
Wind rushes around you as you free-fall. The stone floor of the balcony getting closer and closer until it hits your feet. You steady yourself, feeling grateful for your fae reflexes.
Still holding Mor’s hand, she leads you to the balcony's edge. You look out at the city sprawling below you, alive and bustling. The humming sound of life below is like music in your ears.
Mor smiles widely at you. “Welcome to Velaris,” she says. “The Court of Dreams.”

sirius black x reader ✿ 6016 words
Three weeks. That's how long Sirius and you had been broken up. And yet, every day still felt torturous. Your girlfriends had suggested that you try dating again, but you didn't think it was fair to the poor bloke on the other end for you to be so desperately hung up on your ex-boyfriend.
You still remember the day you two had broken up. Sirius had been pursuing music for a few years after graduation as a lead singer and had failed to succeed. It wasn't until a month ago that he'd come bursting through the doors of your shared apartment, saying, "I finally got a gig! Isn't that great?" At that moment, he'd hugged you so hard, peppering your faces with kisses, leaving you both blushing, giggly messes. That was the happiest you'd ever seen him after typically grueling auditions and gigs with low attendance.
It was great, honestly. You were so happy Sirius finally had the opportunity to pursue his dreams. However, what wasn't great was that the gig was in Scotland, with a well-known, but anonymous to you, rock band in Glasgow as their lead singer. You didn't want to ruin his initial excitement, so you'd kept your worries and fears about the location to yourself. When Sirius realized a seven-hour drive to Glasgow from your apartment and a full-time job in London was an issue, you two finally sat down to talk a week after he received the offer.
He sat with you on your sofa, with cups of tea for you both. Your eyes were red and puffy, as you'd anticipated a breakup as soon as you two had agreed to discuss the upcoming move. After a two-hour-long discussion where Sirius had desperately tried to arrange to come on the weekends and subsequently realized the band schedule was unpredictable–not to mention he didn't have enough money to visit every weekend anyway–and you had realized you couldn't hold back the man you love from his dreams, you two tearfully agreed to call it quits for the sake of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Today was also the day that Sirius was leaving for Glasgow. Despite being broken up and not talking regularly, he had asked you to come to say goodbye to him at the train station. So, here you were, head buried in the crook of his neck, both his arms wrapped tightly around your waist, inhaling his scent of cigarettes, amber, and cedarwood as you said goodbye to the man you loved. You figured the level of this embrace wasn't appropriate for people who were "just friends" now, but who knows when you'd hug each other again. You hoped this wouldn't be the last time you'd inhale his scent or feel his embrace; you desperately wanted him to stay. You hoped he didn't see the tears on your cheeks as you waved goodbye from the train platform.
♡ ♡ ♡
It had now been a month since Sirius left for Glasgow. You'd been doing okay, better than you initially thought possible. Your heart was still recovering from the heartbreak of a breakup, but you'd been going to work regularly and hanging out with your girlfriends to make up for the loneliness that came with being recently single. You were still sad deep down, but having good friends and a hectic, time-consuming job was a great distraction from heartbreak.
Tonight, you and your friends planned to go to a local bar that you used to frequent with Sirius for drinks and darts. You got ready quickly, picked out an outfit suitable for a bar, and styled your hair hurriedly. Just before you were about to leave, you felt a ding in your back pocket and read a text from your friends telling you that they had to cancel.
Sighing, you shoved your phone back into your pocket. "Just my luck," you muttered. You were excited to see your friends and have a few drinks, but it doesn't seem that will happen. Unless… you were already ready anyway, why not go to the bar to have fun alone? You quickly decided that was a great idea and left in a hurry to walk to the bar. You made haste and walked to the bar quickly, excited to have fun and admittedly get a little tipsy after a long week.
Although the bar was only six blocks away–relatively short for London standards–walking in heels left you with blisters when you reached the door. When you entered the bar, you sat on one of the stools near the bartender and ordered an old-fashioned, planning to get buzzed quickly.
After downing approximately four old-fashioned drinks–though you'd truthfully lost count–you were solidly tipsy and ready to socialize with the nearest human. You had probably looked a bit odd hunched over at the bar hammering drinks alone, but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures, and you'd consider a recent breakup and friend cancellation desperate times. At this point, you could feel the effects of alcohol buzzing through your system. You were warm, admittedly just slightly sloppy, delighted, and ready to socialize with some people.
Spinning around on your bar stool to face the crowd, you peered among people's faces, looking for fun, friendly girls and playing a game that made it easy to join. Scanning left to right, you stopped once you saw two familiar faces: James and Remus. Usually, one would think you'd hightail it out of the bar after seeing your recent ex's two best friends–perhaps it was liquid courage or sheer stupidity–but you decided to waltz over to their high-top table and plop down next to them as they played a game of cards.
Startled by your non-stealthy, loud, and frankly drunk movements, Remus and James looked up simultaneously to meet your loopy, dazed grin and an embarrassing spot of red lipstick on your teeth you were unaware of. "Hi Remus, hi James," you spoke excitedly, any ounce of social anxiety smothered with whiskey.
"Hi, Y/N, having a fun night?" James spoke first, quickly noticing your inebriated state. He sported a friendly smile but looked a bit shocked by your entrance. You knew Remus and James well. The possibility of them not being your friends after the breakup had been difficult and saddening. Remus and James frequently accompanied you to Sirius' smaller gigs in London, and all four of you often got drinks after the show ended. By the time you and Sirius had broken up, you had considered Remus and James good friends and assumed they felt the same way about you.
"I'm having so much fun," you near-shouted excitedly, a broad smile overtaking your features. Remus and James laughed in response, eyes crinkling as they observed your enthusiastic state.
Pausing for a second, figuring out how to phrase his next question, Remus asked, "How are you doing? Especially after everything that happened, if you don't mind me being intrusive." He wore a smile, but as his eyes scanned your face and figure, you could tell he was trying to analyze how you'd been coping with the breakup outside the bar.
You sucked in a breath, the feeling of air expanding your lungs dulled from the liquor but grounding you nonetheless. Not expecting the sincere question, you pondered on it for a moment. You had been doing okay with the band-aid of your job and your friends keeping you busy. However, you weren't sure if you were doing okay because you felt okay about the breakup or hadn't given yourself enough time to process it.
After digging deep down to address the wound in your heart, you decided it was the latter. "I've been doing okay. I've kept myself busy with work and friends, but I miss him a lot," you answered truthfully. Before Sirius got the gig in Glasgow, your relationship was almost perfect. Aside from the typical small arguments here and there, you two were infatuated with each other. Your breakup was necessary, but it wasn't wanted from either side.
Remus nodded, understanding what you meant and probably even the context of it all due to his proximity to Sirius. James interrupted the heartfelt moment with his typically cheerful attitude. "Well, if you're looking for more distractions, you could join us for a round of cards!" Although enthusiastic, his offer came out unsure, wondering if you wanted distraction or comfort.
You laughed in response, touched by his effort to comfort you even though you and Sirius were no longer together. "I think that sounds nice," you answered with a soft smile.
And so, over a few hours, you, Remus, and James drank multiple beers, played numerous card games, and divulged in far too many details regarding your feelings about your and Sirius' recent breakup. You told them you didn't know when you'd be ready to start dating again, that you missed the social connection and physical intimacy from a romantic relationship, and that you didn't know how much longer you could ignore the feelings of a brutal breakup with work and friends. They listened empathetically despite the inappropriate nature of you divulging these details with your ex's closest friends.
The excellent news is that alcohol hadn't just loosened up your filter but also James' and Remus' filters. Sirius was notoriously private, so his social media was no help finding details about his new life in Glasgow. Most of his posts were for marketing purposes. However, Remus and James were evidently mouthy drunks, and throughout the evening, you'd find out that although Sirius had tried going on dates, he stopped because the heartbreak was still too raw. Serves him right. When James shared that with you, Remus kicked him a bit too obviously, James flinching from his foot hidden under the tabletop, but the damage was done, and the information was stored in your mind.
"How is the gig going?" you asked. Although you had been craving details of Sirius' dating life, you also wanted to know how he was doing after years of hard work and sought-out gigs.
"I think he's doing okay. He took over for a lead singer who had a baby and listed his leave as indefinite, though he said it's weird being the new one in a band who has been together and known each other for years." Remus answered, James, nodding along. You hadn't thought about the social awkwardness associated with joining a band so late after its formation, but it seemed Sirius was adjusting well.
Staring at the somewhat blurry clock on the wall, you realize it is almost 3 a.m. and far past your bedtime. Gathering your coat to brave the cold weather, you leaped up from the bar stool and stretched your sore limbs. "Well, I have to get going, but thanks for keeping me company tonight," you offered your thanks with a small smile.
Remus and James looked at the clock in response, gathering their jackets and cards after seeing the time. "No problem, we're glad to hear that you're doing well," James smiled at you, his eyes crinkling up. He was always so friendly.
Walking out of the bar alone in the frigid night air reminded you of your loneliness again. Perhaps the cold air was sobering, or maybe it reminded you how nice it was to hold Sirius' warm hand on frigid nights like this and how his constant teasing always made warm, boisterous laughs escape your mouth.
♡ ♡ ♡
When you woke up in your apartment the following day, you still had on your clothes from the night before, recalling how you stumbled into the door and promptly passed out on the bed. Remembering the events from before with James and Remus–although delighted by the information you received–you expected them to never talk to you again, and even worse, you expected Sirius to hear about your nosiness and subsequently block you too.
So that's why you were surprised to see a text in a brand new group chat with Remus and James that read, "Cards and beer again next weekend?"
And so it began.
♡ ♡ ♡
The next time you met up with Remus and James, you had a lot of life updates. For one, after reminiscing about Sirius and you walking home from the bar, you decided to go on a date to get him off your mind. It went terribly wrong. You went out for dinner with one of your coworkers, Charles. You two had sat awkwardly together while you devoured a steak, barely making any conversation outside of eating noises and sipping drinks in an attempt to get rid of anxiety. When he walked you home, he very unsubtly tried to get you to invite him upstairs, and by the end of his efforts, you were convinced the only reason he went out with you was to end the night in your bedroom. Now, things are awkward at work, and you've decided you can never speak to him again.
Trying to date again only made you want to get back together with Sirius more; you wished that was possible. You missed the comfort of being in a relationship with someone who knew you like the back of their hand. It never felt like an effort to converse with Sirius, even when it took you too long to come up with a comeback to his constant banter. It also never felt nerve-wracking or scary to initiate hand-holding, embraces, or kisses, only sometimes when he looked exceptionally handsome.
You were also incredibly frustrated. You'd resorted to looking at one of Sirius' few fan pages as a more minor artist and had discovered he'd been on a date. You had no idea how it went, but it dampened your mood nonetheless. Hypocritical? Yes. True? Also yes.
When you found yourself sitting across from Remus and James with the same beer as last time, lazily playing cards and more focused on conversation, you told them just that. Most people probably would feel stupid indulging in such personal endeavors to their ex-boyfriend's friends–you probably should feel more stupid doing so–but your friends are so busy, and you can't keep your tragic dating life to yourself anymore.
"And get this, after practically ignoring me the entire date and asking me to split the bill, he asked if he could come upstairs with me when we reached my apartment building! Isn't that ridiculous?" You rant to James and Remus about your date with Charles, feeling new waves of anger and frustration as you remembered the events. Although less wasted than last time, drinking multiple rounds of beer made you more loose-lipped than usual.
Remus' face crinkled in poorly concealed disgust. "Men like him have no shame. You would think he'd try to set things right as your coworker, but the fact he hasn't talked to you says a lot about him." James nodded in silent agreement.
Grumbling and propping your head into your arms on the table, you mumbled, "Ugh, I know. I wish dating wasn't so hard." Frustration sank deep into your veins. Being in a relationship with Sirius felt like one in a million. He was handsome, kind, thoughtful, respected boundaries, and made you so comfortable. Now, the first time you were thrown back into the ring, you happened to go on a date with someone who was Sirius's antithesis.
James patted your back in what was supposed to be a comforting rub. Then suddenly, he chortled. "You know, Sirius also has had trouble dating. He tried going out again with this girl he met at a bar. She went to the restroom and never returned after he told her he was a musician." Remus elbowed James in the ribs, likely for telling you something Sirius would not want you to know. You internally cheered; now you knew the answer to your looming question.
You shoot up almost immediately at the information, a bright light of warm, comfortable, purely selfish happiness burrowing itself in your chest. "Really!?" You ask excitedly, which both Remus and James laugh at.
"Hey, try not to look too excited! He's still one of my best mates," James laughs at your response, clearly bemused by your immediate shift in mood. A small smile graces Remus' lips, and a shiny, mischievous glint overtakes his eyes.
You try to tone it down a bit. "I know, I'm sorry. I know I'm being selfish. I just can't help but wish Sirius was still hanging up on me, too," you admit, letting a bit of sadness come to the surface of your emotions.
"You're still hung up on him?" Remus asked, putting a hand on your shoulder. You knew it was embarrassing to admit, but years of feelings don't go away after a couple of months. Of course, you were still hung up on Sirius. He had been your best friend, too, which James and Remus may have forgotten.
"Isn't that obvious? Of course, I'm still hung up on him. He was my best friend," you admitted quietly, eyes glazing over. You knew this was definitely something you shouldn't be sharing with James and Remus. But the smooth flush of alcohol in your system and feelings of nostalgia quickly overwhelmed your senses.
Remus and James noticed your heightened emotions, side-eyeing each other very clearly. You did not appreciate that. "If you tell him that, I will hurt you two," you threatened, narrowing your eyes.
Remus and James simply laughed but nodded at your empty threat, resuming your game of cards. "Scout's honor," James swore, swearing himself to secrecy.
By the night's end, you'd heard much about Sirius' gig, dating life, and adjustment to Glasgow. It sounded like it was going well, which you were conflicted about. On the one hand, you want the best for him. On the other hand, you're a selfish monster who wants nothing more than for him to come running back home to you. Not that you'd be the first person he would see anyway.
Over the next month, you had to travel to Paris for a work trip, severely restricting your scheduled beer and card games with Remus and James. This was highly displeasing; you wanted nothing more than to hound them for updates. The travel may be for the good, but it would help you move on quickly. And also help me seem less like a deranged stalker, you thought to yourself. Nonetheless, when you were back in a month, you, Remus, and James had beer, cards, and gossip planned again.
♡ ♡ ♡
Paris was more fun than you could've ever imagined. Although you still had to work there, and this was the most extended work trip you'd ever been on, your boss was accommodating and perhaps lazy, allowing you to take most of the day to lounge around and explore the city.
And that's how you met Jean. Jean was a handsome Parisian man who did a fantastic job taking your mind off Sirius. You had met him at a nightclub about two weeks into your trip, at approximately 3 a.m.—who knew Parisians partied so late and so hard? When he slipped his number into your back pocket, it almost felt like fate. You weren't entirely convinced he was your soulmate, but you were getting close.
You two weren't exclusive, but you found solace in spending the night intertwined, allowing you to escape the hotel and find romance after a long, painful, dry spell. Although a secret, tumultuous romance sounded quite appealing and much like a romance novel—which made you feel like a cool protagonist—you knew you had to talk to someone about your new fling.
The issue was that your girlfriends would be too nosy. They would want to know everything about Jean, including his social media, which could be disastrous. You need to talk to someone who would know, but they wouldn't grill you for information, so you decided on Remus and James.
You were hoping their oath to secrecy wasn't a lie because when you sent a text to your group chat that read, "Guess who can say she's been with a Parisian man?" it felt perilous. You were hoping you could unpack the details of your fling when you saw them again, not wanting to send a long text explaining everything.
However, when James replied, "I see you're going worldwide," with a winky face, your doubts eased a bit. It felt good having your secret fling off your chest, even if you knew telling James and Remus was an idiotic, terrible, but oh-so-relieving idea.
That night, you spent the night at Jean's again. You never really had much conversation with him. Your French was shoddy at best, and when he kissed the skin under your ear lobe after sharing a bottle of wine, it felt almost as good as a meaningful conversation. It was nearly enough to push away the memories of Sirius and you talking until your conversation ended with bellies and lungs tight from laughter, your faces wet from happy tears.
♡ ♡ ♡
It had been another week since you'd been in Paris. Things had slowed down significantly with Jean, especially after you'd realized that he could not cure your heartache. You both knew your arrangement, or whatever it was, was only short-term. He was handsome and into you, but he also lived in Paris and, hence, was not a viable option for you. He kissed you on the cheek when you parted, but it felt surface-level. Which it was, considering you had seen each other for only a week.
Thinking of Sirius also still wanted to make you violent, to make you bang your head against the wall. When you'd shared that with James and Remus, they said he missed you and that things were tough in Glasgow, but you couldn't tell if they were saying it just to be excellent. Given the new low levels they'd observed you at, they had reason to.
Today, you were walking to a coffee shop for remote work. If you'd consider staring at an empty Excel spreadsheet, work. When you said your boss was relaxed, you meant it. He'd posted a photo of himself at the Eiffel Tower eight times over the three weeks you'd been in Paris.
You ordered yourself a cappuccino and sat down at a booth to lock in and watch TV shows on your computer while you pretended to be doing work. That was until you saw a familiar head of jaw-length black hair walk into the coffee shop: Sirius.
No fucking way. You had to fight the urge to gasp out loud, bolt out of the shop, and abandon your electronics to escape the feelings of gut-wrenching heartbreak that reappeared upon seeing his face. He honestly looked a lot worse than when you'd seen him last. His face needed a good shave, he had heavy eye-bags, and he looked like he'd lost a concerning amount of weight since moving to Glasgow. You frowned at the thought of him suffering there.
Apparently, he could feel your eyes on him because his gaze fell on you when he turned his head to scan the coffee shop. Internally screaming, you had to fight the urge to sink underneath the table and pretend you didn't exist. You should've run when you had the opportunity.
His mouth opened in recognition and shock, a small smile curving upon his lips. Fighting the urge to pretend you didn't know him and run, you offered him a small smile and wave, gesturing at him to join you. This was such a bad idea that you internally face-palmed yourself at your unbelievable stupidity. You have been pining over your ex-boyfriend for months, and what do you do? Invite him to join you at a coffee shop and talk. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
He approached your table, pulling out the chair on the opposite end of the booth to sit down in. "Hi Sirius," you spoke first, quiet, maybe timid, but friendly nonetheless. Your heart felt like it could explode out of your chest, and levels of heartbreak, sadness, and longing flooded to the surface, seeing him so close to you. Not to mention, he looked unwell, and you wanted nothing more than to embrace him like you would've done in the past.
"Hi, Y/N," Sirius said, too. You both looked at each other for a second, a cloud of awkwardness and heartbreak in the air. He inhaled deeply, "How are you?" he offered up, breaking the silence.
"I'm doing okay," you answered truthfully. "I've been busy with work and seeing my friends a lot," and there's the lie. You stared at a spreadsheet all day, and the only friends you'd seen frequently were Remus and James, who were Sirius's more friends than yours.
"I'm happy to hear that," Sirius responded with a small smile. He paused for a second, thinking about his following words. "I heard from James that you've been dating again; I'm glad you're doing well," He spoke again, a forlorn look glazing over his brown eyes. His lips wore a neutral smile, but his eyes told a different story. Upon hearing these words, your heart dropped into your lower stomach. I'm going to kill him, you thought. James was so in for it. The worst part was you weren't even dating Jean anymore. You weren't ever dating him; he was just a fling and a distraction.
You needed to figure out how to correct this vital error. Clearly, Sirius had gotten the wrong impression about your dating life from James, that bastard. Despite your frustration, after thinking about it, you didn't know there was a use in correcting the error. After all, despite how pathetic and in love you were with Sirius, he was still in Glasgow. "Thanks, Sirius, I appreciate it," you opted to respond to his comment after thinking about your situation. "How are you?" you asked. Despite his interesting appearance, you had hoped he wasn't terrible.
"I'm okay. I'm moving back to London soon, though," he smiled. Oh no. You swore you felt your heart drop on the floor. When you convinced yourself that this relationship was forever out of your grasp, he dropped this bomb on you.
"Oh! Really?" You ask with an empty, fake smile, though you were admittedly surprised by this confession. "I suppose it will be nice to be closer to James and Remus again!" You added. You hoped he thought it would be nice to be closer to you again, too, but he officially thought you were dating someone else, and it felt too late into the conversation to reverse back on the error. It would be both confusing and humiliating to admit you had gone on with the lie.
He nodded. "The lead singer was on leave because he had a baby; even though he listed it as indefinite, he decided to start working again," Sirius answered honestly, explaining the situation to you. You swear you could feel your heart snap into a million little pieces. You and Sirius had broken up believing this job arrangement was permanent, but now it felt like all your heartbreak was for nothing.
"I see. What are you gonna do in London?" you asked, trying to convince yourself he might get tied down to another band. That way, the heartbreak would feel a lot less awful.
"I'm going solo," Sirius told you. His typical confident demeanor was shredded; he was excited, but his words left enough room for you to tell he was looking for your approval.
"Congratulations, Sirius. I'm really happy for you," you said. You were happy for him; this had always been his dream, but it was easier to break into the music scene in a group. However, this was probably the worst situation for mending your heart. If Sirius was solo, he wasn't tied to a band or their touring schedule. If he didn't think you were dating Jean, it would be entirely possible for you guys to rekindle your relationship. You felt like going to the Eiffel Tower solely to climb it and throw yourself off.
You took a deep breath, desperately needing to escape the situation and think. "I have to get going," you blurted awkwardly and rashly. "I have to go back to the office; my lunch break is over," you added in a quieter, more normal-sounding voice. You hoped Sirius would ignore that it was 10 a.m. and nowhere near lunchtime. It was a pathetic, poorly thought-out lie in an attempt to escape.
"Oh, well, it was nice talking to you. See you around!" Sirius responded, clearly taken aback by your sudden departure. If you didn't feel like you were going to vomit up your breakfast, you would've felt bad, as he clearly thought you were desperate to ditch him. You were, not because you hated him, but because you still loved him.
You nodded, quickly packed up your belongings, waved goodbye, and bolted out of the coffee shop, nearly tripping over your shoes on the way out. It was so embarrassing. You opened your group chat with Remus and James, sending a single text, "Traitors!"
James' reply was a single emoji with their tongue sticking out.
♡ ♡ ♡
You had been back in London for a week, and after multiple texts from now-apologetic James and Remus, who had been apologetic from the start, you agreed to meet them again at the bar to talk. You were honestly still a bit upset. Knowing that there was now a possibility of getting back together with Sirius, which you had subsequently squashed, had reopened deep sadness.
You entered the bar, immediately spotting James and Remus at your usual table. You sat down with a small smile; they were still your friends, and you waited for an explanation.
Immediately as you sat down in the booth, James blurted out, "I'm sorry!" You nodded but raised your eyebrow, waiting for an explanation. "Please forgive me. I promise I thought you were dating Jean, and Sirius asked about you. I couldn't leave him hanging; he's my best friend." James blurted out the information rapidly, clearly apologetic and anxious.
However, there was only one piece of information that you immediately narrowed down on. "Wait, Sirius was asking about me?" you asked, shocked and slightly shaken. Here, you thought you were the pathetic ex-girlfriend hounding details out of James and Remus, but maybe, just maybe, Sirius was the pathetic ex-boyfriend, too.
Remus responded with a snort, "Please, Sirius has been asking us about you nearly every day for the past three months!" James nods hurriedly, clearly trying to appease your worries.
"And you didn't tell me?" you ask, a twinge frustrated—scratch that, a lot frustrated. You'd been ranting to them for months about how heartbroken and sad you were, only to discover that Sirius was equally upset.
"Well, we didn't know if he'd be returning either. We thought we were being good friends hearing you guys out. We didn't want either of you to know about the other in case Sirius stayed in Glasgow," Remus explained, his words coming out quickly.
You nodded in response. Although you were frustrated, Remus's and James's explanations made sense. Honestly, you felt terrible dumping all that responsibility on them.
"Well, we have to go. Bye!" James said, grabbing Remus' arm and running out of the bar. You gaped in response, shocked by how quickly they tried to run off. Their mannerisms made no sense until you saw a familiar face for the first time since Paris: Sirius.
He looked shocked to see you approaching the table you sat at. "Hey, Y/N, what are you doing here?" That seemed like something you should ask him.
"I just met up with James and Remus," you replied sheepishly. You didn't know if he knew about your continued meetings. And you hoped he didn't know that you had been milking them for information about his life in Glasgow.
"Oh, they told me to meet them here," Sirius said. "I wonder if they decided to switch locations. I can go to meet them," he continued, using his thumbs to point towards the door and indicate his departure.
You think you both knew that James and Remus had planned this. However, you also knew that Sirius was likely being nice and didn't want to make you uncomfortable since he was under the impression that you were dating Jean.
When Sirius started to retreat, you saw his broad, tall figure walk out the bar's doors, a bell dinging as he left, and you knew you couldn't sit back. You couldn't let the man you love get away from you again. Knowing you could've done something to stop it, you couldn't deal with another heartbreak.
You hopped up from the bar stool, running after Sirius's figure until you reached him two blocks away, in front of a brick alleyway. "Sirius, wait!" you nearly pant, clearly out of shape, reaching out to clutch his wrist. He turned around to face you, looking dejected. "I'm not seeing Jean," you blurted out–still out of breath–a rare moment of vulnerability. You wanted to smack your hand over your mouth. "He was just someone, something, to get my mind off you for a while." You felt like you needed a muzzle right now.
His expression shifted from sadness to surprise but then again to emotions you couldn't put your finger on. “Y/N…” He began, but you quickly cut him off.
"Please, I know I messed up," you admitted quietly. You were embarrassed. "I should've been honest with you. I should've told you I missed you and had been honest with you, but I didn't know if you would ever return. So I resorted to playing a game of telephone with James and Remus. I should've just asked you how you were doing."
He looked bashful for a second, an emotion you didn't usually see on Sirius. "Well, you weren't the only one playing the game telephone. I kind of, maybe, told James and Remus to continue meeting with you so I knew what was happening in your life." He pauses for a second, trying to figure out how to continue. "And for the record, you didn't mess up seeing Jean; we were broken up, and you had every right to move on. I just selfishly wished you had been waiting for me."
You laugh at his confession. You should've known James, and Remus wouldn't have continued to update you without telling Sirius information, too. After all, he was their friend first. "I should've known they would sell me out to you and that they wouldn't be the most reliable relayers of my life." You sucked in a quick breath, "I wish I had waited for you, too; I just didn't know if you were ever coming home." If you weren't embarrassing yourself enough, you suddenly said, "I never stopped loving you."
A vast silence washed over the two of you for a moment, your sudden confession hanging over your heads like a ripe fruit from a tree, desperate to be desired. Then, Sirius reached out to cup your cheeks, both rosy from the cold air and the heat of your confession. His eyes searched yours before he spoke. "I never stopped loving you either," he admitted.
A surge of relief flooded your system, along with bone-deep golden joy. You didn't let another moment pass before you wrapped him in a tight embrace, your head falling under his chin. He allowed a burst of happy, surprised laughter to escape his lips before wrapping his arms tightly around your waist. When you held each other, all the misunderstandings and doubts between you two melted away, replaced by love and closeness. You never wanted to let go of him again.
After a moment, he pulled away, "You could've just told me you missed me, dollface." Although you felt touched, he had so quickly re-adopted your old nickname, you punched his arm nonetheless.
"Shut up," you murmured, leaning upwards to envelop his lips in a gentle, soft kiss. When he smiled against your lips, you hoped you two could stay like that forever.

Pairing: Billy Russo x F! Reader
Warnings: Death, description of injuries, vomiting, crying, grief
Word Count: 2.8K-ish
Summary: After a night out, on your way home, there’s a horrific accident
A/N: Ok I’m just going to say I’m sorry right off the bat, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Based off of a conversation between my lovely lovely friend @ittybxttykxttytxtty if you’d like to read the conversation, check it out HERE There is a surprise at the end so I will do another author’s note at the end. This was very hard to write at times, I had to walk away from it and come back to it a few times. I know, I’m rambling again. I’m just gonna say I’m sorry again and forgive me but I hope you like it anyway. Oh and the song I listened to on repeat to put me in the right mindset was Storm by Lifehouse. I’ll link it at the end. ♥️
As always, thank you for reading!  I appreciate it so much and comments, reblogs are welcome and encouraged. Don’t be shy to tell me your favorite part. 💕💕 💕
There wasn’t anything that could be done for the outcome to be different. You were living a real life nightmare over and over again, always starting and ending in the same place, never finding out what happened after the accident or how you were supposed to figure out how to break the time loop you were stuck in.
The scorched heart that beat inside your chest burned every time you had to watch that truck hit the patch of black ice. His strong hands had pushed you out of the way and you fell across the faded white lines of the crosswalk, toward the sidewalk, just as it hit him.
Choking on the icy winter air, you tried to get to him as people started to gather around. All other sounds had been blocked out, you couldn’t hear the pedestrians that were trying to ask you if you were ok. You could read their lips but there was no sound.
With your palms pressed firmly in place, you could feel the vibrations of the traffic along the cold cracked city streets before crawling on all fours through a sea of legs looking for him. You could finally hear the faded sounds of approaching sirens and see the blinking red emergency lights against the somber night sky.
Your heart sank into your feet when you finally saw him. The attempt to control his pain and shock was futile. He didn’t have to say anything because it was all over his face. He was scared, calling out your name over and over again through shuttering, halting breaths.
Bright red blood slowly dripped from the scrapes on his knuckles and trailed out of his mouth. His legs twisted to impossible angles; you knew they were broken.
The dialogue was always the same.
As you hovered above him, you tried to stifle your sobs as you gently scraped his scalp with your nails.
“BILLY!” You cried out.
He struggled to get his words out. Between labored breaths he managed to ask, “A-are y-you o-ok? T-tell me you’re ok!”
Cupping his cheek, you replied, “I’m ok, baby…I’m ok. They’re coming, Billy! Just hold on! Why did you do that?!!”
Billy tried to smile.
“I-I couldn’t l-let any…thing h-happen to m-my s-sweet girl.” He choked out before his eyes closed.
“Billy! Billy, open your eyes for me please! Don’t you dare leave me, Billy Russo!” You yelled, gripping and shaking his shoulders.
Just as his eyes slowly started to open, you were surrounded by a swarm of paramedics who whisked you away toward the ambulance. And as you struggled to get away from them and back to Billy, a warm white light would appear and take you to a happy memory of him like the day you met, the night of your first date, and the first time he told you he loved you.
These memories felt like dreams. You observed them from the outside, like you were a spectator watching your own life as it played out in front of you.
“She left me…she didn’t want me…she never did.” He had said softly.
You remembered that night vividly. That quiet night with nothing but the sound of the fire crackling and hissing in between the words the two of you exchanged. A mother had left her own child on the doorstep of a fire station with nothing but the clothes on his back, not bothering to look back as she walked away from him. She made a choice and she didn’t deserve any forgiveness for it you thought to yourself because you couldn’t get any words out.
You struggled to swallow as tears silently fell from your eyes and in a way, you felt sorry for her because she would never know that her son grew up to be probably the strongest person you had ever met.
Billy had pulled himself out of that gutter she had left him in. He defended his country as a marine, became a successful CEO of a company he started without help from anyone, and he was so much more than anyone ever got to see.
You were the only person he ever showed that side of himself to.
Even the warmth from the fire couldn’t keep you from shivering as you listened to his story. The words kept pouring out like blood from an open wound and his words left you stunned and unable to move.
There wasn’t anything you could say to take that pain away, to make the nightmares disappear, help him forget about the Ray of Hope group home, the bodies left behind in Afghanistan, or the pain he suffered from feeling unwanted and unloved for so long. But you could listen and be there for him whenever he needed you to and he loved you for that.
Your story wasn’t like Billy’s but it was still a painful one. The memories you had from when you were really young made you happy but as you got older into your pre-teen and teenage years, everything unraveled.
Your parents divorced, you had to leave the house you grew up in, and your mother even gave away your dog. She treated you like she didn’t want you, not going as far as Billy’s mother did but you felt just as he did…unwanted and unloved.
“What did she do to you?” Billy had asked.
Gazing at you fondly, his eyes were the color of freshly turned soil after the rain. His long fingers softly brushed across your knuckles as the heat from the fire warmed one side of his handsome face.
You swallowed hard before answering him, it was nothing like what he had been through, and it just sounded so marginal but you answered him anyway.
“She ignored me.” You replied with your voice cracking.
You didn’t want to cry but tears fell from your eyes anyway as you tried to look away from him, realizing how stupid it all sounded but he wouldn’t let you look away or down. Billy wanted your eyes on him.
The look in his eyes was understanding; they silently told you he would never do that to you and he would always be there to listen to you because, in a way, you were alike. The two of you had managed to find one another and he never wanted to let that go…and neither did you.
The broken fragments of your lives that you carried around never quite fit back into place, no matter how hard you tried to put them back. Those scars are forever; they never completely go away but you didn’t need those pieces anymore. The healing you did together helped to patch the holes inside that you thought might never be filled with love again.
Patiently, you had waited for someone to love you as Billy did, to love you for who you were and he had only wanted the same. Not for his money or his good looks but for someone to love him, to be patient with him, but also to put him in his place when he was wrong. He wasn’t used to that but he did whatever it took because, with your help, he liked the man he was becoming.
He felt…content.
And in an instant, everything changed. The cycle would start all over again. Truck…screeching tires…hitting the pavement…sirens and lights…blood…broken bones…hearing your name…flashes of light…a fond memory.
You couldn’t keep watching him get hit by that truck over and over again. It felt like moments of your life were being taken from you each time it happened but still you loved watching the wonderful memories and moments between you and Billy again like it was the first time it was happening.
Every emotion you had experienced in those memories, you felt again watching them unfold in front of your eyes. The butterflies in your stomach fluttered again watching him kiss you for the first time. And goosebumps peppered your skin every time his lips touched that spot on your neck you loved so much…you felt them all.
But no matter how hard you tried to prevent him from being hit, you couldn’t do it. The universe wouldn’t let you. The cruelty of it all, watching the worst moment of your life play over and over again like a broken record. The flashes of light would always happen before learning Billy’s fate but you needed to break the loop.
How were you going to do that?
Maybe? No, no that can’t be the answer. You couldn’t do it. You couldn’t just let him die. “There has to be another way!” You thought.
The scent of tires and pavement mixed together burned into your sense of smell and left you sick with nausea as you tried to comfort him or ease his pain in any way you could. But it didn’t do any good. You could feel him slipping away as the obliterating pain you felt in your chest increased when the paramedics tore you away from his side.
The light came for you, ready to take you away to another memory but you didn’t let it. That’s when you realized that there was no other way to break the loop. Your body went numb, admitting to yourself that you had to let him go.
You had exhausted every option, tried everything, but the time loop kept going. The memories shown to you were all you were going to have left of him which was excruciating to think about.
You broke free from the paramedic’s strong grip and hurried back to him just as the other EMT’s were putting him on the stretcher.
You weren’t going to let him be alone.
No other words were exchanged inside the ambulance. With the oxygen mask over his face, his long fingers had laced with yours, he squeezed your hand periodically as the ambulance raced toward the hospital until his heart stopped beating and you heard the unmistakable sound of a flat line. His fingers went limp, his hand dropped away from yours as the EMT’s tried to revive him but he wasn’t coming back.
The tears came thick and fast as all noises dissipated like a heavy fog burning off over the ocean. A piece of you was gone, it had died along with him and that space in your heart that had been filled in with his love was empty once again.
The air inside suddenly became heavy and you struggled to breathe. As soon as the ambulance doors opened, you vomited onto the pavement in the parking lot and collapsed into the arms of one of the paramedics.
Before you blacked out, you heard him call out to you, “Miss! Can you hear me?!”
**********
Slowly, your eyes fluttered open, the bright lights above you stung as you waited for your vision to adjust to them. The voice you heard next to you was a familiar one.
“Hey sweetheart.” He said.
The voice was deep and gruff but soft. It could only be one person…Frank.
Frank Castle was Billy’s best friend. They served together and when Billy started Anvil, he had Frank come and work for him.
A hazy sense of sadness filled the room and after a moment of cold silence, you burst into tears, clawed at the sheets and tried to get out of bed.
“Y/n…no, no! What are ya doing, ya have to stay here. He’s gone, sweetheart.” Frank embraced you tightly and choked on his words. “He’s gone.”
Still trying to pull the cold sheets off your body, you cried, “He was all I had, Frank! He was all I…had!”
Frank squeezed you as hard as he could, held you in his arms as you cried while he tried not to and stroked your hair to try and soothe you but it didn’t do any good. You were heartbroken and numb as you sobbed against Frank’s shirt before passing out from shock once again.
The only person in the world who understood you, who you went to when you were having a bad day, or when you just needed someone to hug you in silence was stolen from you and he wasn’t coming back.
The only thing you felt was helplessness, lying in your hospital bed desperately trying to think of how you were going to move on with your life without him. You didn’t have anyone else, so what were you supposed to do now?
The weeks following Billy’s death all ran together in a blur. Frank and his wife, Maria, insisted you stay with them, but you couldn’t eat, or sleep, and when you did sleep, you were awakened by constant nightmares. Billy came to you in your dreams, they felt so real, his hands cupping your cheeks, lips colliding with yours, and his fingers tracing along the curves and hollows of your body.
Suddenly, his face was covered in cuts and blood and his life force grew fainter. You reached out but you couldn’t touch him. He slipped right through your fingers as he was just a vision, a figment of your imagination and then he disappeared.
Cold sweats and waves of nausea resulted in you vomiting up whatever food you had managed to eat. Maria became concerned when it would happen every time you tried to eat something so even though you told her you were fine, she brought you to the doctor anyway.
Sitting in the exam room, you said to her, “I told you, I’m fine. You don’t have to worry.”
“But I am worried.” She said. “You can’t keep anything down. That’s not good, y/n.”
It felt like they had kept you waiting in that room for days, so she just sat with you, talked, and comforted you. She knew how hard all of this had been on you.
Maria had become a really good friend to you after starting your relationship with Billy. She was so happy that he finally found someone that understood him, was patient with him, and had taught him how to be in a relationship. Some days were harder than others but she did her best to try and ease your pain.
“I know it hasn’t been that long y/n, but Frank and I, even the kids, would do anything to see you smile again.” Said Maria, as she laced her fingers with yours.
You tried to give her a slight smile but immediately your eyes welled up with tears and streaked down your cheeks.
“I see him everywhere I go, every time I close my eyes, he’s there but I can’t touch him. My hand just floats through him! It’s so hard without him, Maria!” You sobbed.
She held you tightly against her as she bit back her tears.
“I know it is…ssshh, ssshhh, I know it is. I know you miss him, we all do, but we are always here for you.” She said, choking on her words.
You remembered when your grandfather passed away. The nurses told you that hearing was the last sense to leave the body so he could still hear you even if you didn’t think he could. And you remembered that in the ambulance on your way to the hospital with Billy.
Before he squeezed your hand for the last time, you whispered in his ear how much you loved him and told him he was the best thing to ever happen to you.
Then he was gone and you knew he wasn’t coming back. He died knowing he was loved which is all he ever wanted but you didn’t know if you would ever be able to process your grief. Everything was difficult. Getting out of bed, eating, taking care of yourself. It was all so painful.
Maria was still holding onto you when the doctor knocked and walked through the door. She had a kind smile and was very aware of the ordeal you had been through so her tone of voice was very gentle.
“Hi there, y/n. I’d ask you how you’re doing but I know the answer to that but I think I know why you haven’t been able to keep any food down lately.” She said.
You and Maria looked at her, very interested in what she was about to say.
“Your bloodwork came back and, well…you’re pregnant y/n.” She said with a warm smile.
As those words echoed inside your head, you suddenly became lightheaded and you were thankful that Maria was holding onto you because you could feel yourself starting to lean off of the exam table.
“I’m…pregnant?” You questioned. “A-are y-you sure? How can that be? I was on birth control.”
She shrugged. “Well you know it’s not always 100% effective. We should schedule you for an ultrasound so we know how far along you are.”
Maria cracked a smile as her tears went from sad to happy.
“Oh my god…” She said, stunned.
“Oh my god…” You replied, in return.
Billy didn’t leave you all alone after all but how were you going to do it without him?
A/N #2: I’d love to continue this, explore her grief a little more, past times with Billy, maybe the birth of the baby? What do you think?

Hi guys! So it's been quuuiiiitee awhile since I've posted about one of my absolute favorite hyperfixition....
Misunderstandings and Eldritch Yuu! (Love me this combo _(┐「ε:)_)
Anyways... Lets get to it!
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
So! Lets say the first years are hanging out with their favorite Eldritch prefect(not that yuu knows that...) and Ace remebering how intimately Yuu had talked about the Great Seven wanted to know more(the others had seen the video one of the students that overheard took...(AN: if your confused about I'm refering to please refer to one of my previous post sorry ( p_q)))
"Hey Yuu can you tell is more about what you lnow about the great seven?" Ace asked causing the others to choke at his forwardness
"Ace! You can't just ask that!" exclaimed Deuce
"Oh shut up you guys are just mad I had the balls to actually ask!" said Ace accusingly
"...still you can't go digging into people's past just like that" retorted Jack the other agreeing
"...Whatever" conceded Ace reluctantly
"...I don't mind answering actually" piped up Yuu
"Really?!" asked Grim excitedly as he clung to them
"yeah to be honest with you...it's nice to be able to talk about them like this...it's been so long since anyone's wanted to know but I had still hoped..." trailed of Yuu melancholy
(unaware that they look sadly nostalgic but hopeful with a far away gaze as if they were remebering something long ago that almost caused the first year group to quickly backtrack on their want to know more as guilt slowly boild up from making their dear friend *cough*obsession*cough* remember something that clearly mad them upset)
(...Yuu actually ment that they usually didn't have anyone to talk about disney with...)
"...henchman..." Grim said concerned for his partner(let's face it every single one of you reading this sees that little guy as your child...don't deny it (* - -))
"I'm fine...well who would you like to know about first? And i don't just mean the Great Seven I do know quite a...bit about those I remember fondly" you said not knowing the amount of misunderstandings they just produced...
The first years while shocked(and maybe jealous ) still wanted to know more
...surprisingly Sebek was the one to talk first
"Well while that is a tempting offer human we would like to first know more about those that which our school follow" he said
"hmm...that's fine another time them" Yuu said conceding
(unknown to you they it looked as you had a slight look of disappointment as if they had presented them with a test...and they had failed...they looked at them as if they had offered the secrets of the universe on a silver platter (which technically with the amount of lore and background info Yuu knows they...kinda did?) and these puny little insects had the audacity to refuse them-)
"...well then who first?" you asked snapping them out of there panic looking as calm and reassuring as you can (though it wasn't quite...right...but they appriciated the effort their otherworldly friend put in for them nonetheless)
"Ooh can you tell us more about the one from Savanaclaw?" asked Epel surprisingly
"Ah yes Askari...or well Scar as he's most known as" you say fondly snearing at the name Scar
"let's see...well Askari contrary to popular actually adored his nephew quite a bit infact his nephew had been one of the few to call him by his true name rather than the one his brother had mockingly bestowed upon him...that is Mufasa had forbade his son from doing so"
"What?! Why would he do that?!" shouted Ace in indignation
"Well...let me bestow a word of advice to you my most cherished friends," started Yuu (the first years had noticed how the air seemed to get just a bit heavier when Yuu had stated their claim before lightening once more...oddly enough they weren't scared afterall...why should they be scared when someone-no SOMETHING as powerful as their friend openly claimed and protected them?) "everything has a balance and never is something seldom only black or white...for you see many people claimed as heroes could be those the darkest souls and those as the villains the purest of heart..." you said mysteriously...almost pleadingly (you were honestly just reminiscing about something you had learned in your English class and decided to share it with the others since it was a good bit of info to keep in mind...not that the first knew that...)
The first years took Yuu's words to heart since it seemed important to them
This time Jack was the first to speak
"...was Mufasa a good king?"
The others were taken aback by this question but Yuu seemed to almost...expect it
"...a good king? Yes...to those he deemed fit to be, he had a tendency for...bias you see" you said with a playful lilt to your voice
"...a good father? Yes too though...not always for he often tended to treat his son like a subject rather than a son...often being more of king than father really..."
"Now a good brother?" you let out a laugh (to anyone listening it sounded...sinister it was as if Yuu was holding back from taring the very fabric of reality apart from their anger...for this was surely anger with the way their sharpened nails dug into the table leaving marks...to the subtle glow of their eyes) "...not in the slightest for you see...dear Mufasa saw it as a personal insult if someone claimed to be better than him...say...like a second born brother being much stronger and more respected than him...he did not like that Askari was the one to inherit 'The Roar of the Elders' for wasn't that a sign that the ancestors found his lowly second born brother more fit to be king than he? So he devised a plan to make his respected brother into the lowly second born he saw him as"
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
that's all i got at the moment guys sorry!
But! I do plan on making other post in were i show the darker side to the various disney 'heroes' since you know twisted wonderland is of course of a darker nature than everyone's favorite disney movies, plus i know none of the information I'm writing about is actually true but...i don't regret it
It was one of things i never liked about disney even though i love it to bits i didn't like how they never eleborated on anyone else's backstory other than the protagonist

Okay so I did a writing exchange with @the-starry-raven and I finally finished it (sorry it took ages)
Anyway, here it is:
Alerudy comfort :]
It wasn't even the evening yet, but so far the day had been horrible.
At least he had the rest of the day off, that was the one positive.
The new recruits had taken it upon themselves to ignore all of his advice and purposefully make everything difficult, including doing the exact opposite of what he instructed them to do.
Every single one of them.
It had started with small things- the mean look here and there, things muttered under their breaths- things he could easily brush off, things he'd done as a young recruit filled with more energy and emotions than he knew what to do with.
But then the recruits got more comfortable, bold even, they started toeing the line as the day went on.
One had even thrown something at him- a stone, his brain helpfully supplied- another just stopped running on the track and had started yelling at him about how he hoped his life would fall apart and that his family would die, among many other things.
Overall, you could safely say he'd had a shit day.
Rudy sighed and pushed open his door, locking it behind him before dropping down onto his bed.
He lay there for a few minutes, just staring at the ceiling with all its spiderwebbing cracks and dusty corners.
Light streamed in through his window, broken into fragments by the privacy screen and sent scattering around his room in pretty shapes and colours.
Someone knocked on his door and waited for a response; they didn't get one.
They knocked again, then again a few more times, even trying the handle before seemingly giving up and walking away when Rudy still didn't answer.
He couldn't find it within himself to worry, or even care, if it was urgent. Instead, sighing again before getting up and trudging into his bathroom.
Switching the shower on to warm up, Rudy began peeling the sweaty layers of clothes off, kicking his boots off into a corner to worry about later.
Rudy stepped out of the bathroom with one towel around his waist and another draped over his shoulders, allowing the gathered steam to escape with him as he rummaged around for some clothes.
He finally settled on a soft pair of black joggers (a nice gift from Ghost for his birthday) and a jumper his mum had given him for the same birthday.
Rudy checked the time on his phone, not reading any of the notifications or messages, and decided to try and sleep off some of his sour mood.
The alarm he'd set 2 hours ago blared from his bedside table, causing Rudy to groan in annoyance and fumble about to turn it off.
Once the god forsaken noise was turned off, he rolled onto his back and basked in the silence of his room and stare at the cracked white ceiling, which was now painted in the soft light of the setting sun.
He reached to his bedside table for some water, taking note of his dry throat, only to realise he'd forgotten to pour a glass before he'd fallen asleep.
Groaning in annoyance again, Rudy pulled himself up before making his way out of his room in search of a drink.
He eventually reached the door to the rec room, pausing when he heard several voices chatting inside, laughing loudly.
Rudy leant by a corner, watching as the group of soldiers who had previously been milling about in the rec room walked away, still laughing amongst themselves.
Once he'd deemed the rec room empty, Rudy slipped into the room and made his way over to the small kitchen area.
Flicking the kettle on, he grabbed his favourite mug down from the cupboard and dumped a spoonful of coffee granules in it.
He heard the faint sound of the door opening and clicking shut, quiet footsteps approaching him from behind.
"What's wrong mi corazón?" A set of familiar arms wrapped around his waist, the person resting their chin on his shoulder.
Rudy couldn't help but melt into the touch, leaning backwards as he hummed absent-mindedly.
"Oh mi amor, what happened?" Alejandro murmured into his hair, swaying them from side to side gently.
"It's nothing, coffee?"
Alejandro mumbled a "Yes please." waiting for Rudy to pull him a mug down before spinning him around to stare in his eyes, "It's definitely not nothing, what happened?"
"Not now Ale." Rudy returned the stare, watching as Alejandro's eyes flicked over his face, studying him.
Alejandro hummed, disbelief clear on his face, "Alright, but I'm asking again later."
"Want to watch a film?" Alejandro picked up the mugs and walked off, leaving Rudy to follow him if he wanted a drink.
"I don't get a choice?"
"You get to pick the film." Ale turned to shoot him a smile, still walking.
"Where we going?"
"My room, no one will bother us unless it's an emergency."
They reached his door, Alejandro unlocking it and gesturing for Rudy to enter, "I'm just going to get us some dinner, that okay?"
Rudy smiled, "Sì, get us something good."
Alejandro laughed, "Of course."
"Want to tell me what happened?" Ale whispered the question into the top of his head.
"Maybe." Rudy shifted so he could lay his head on Ale's chest, Alejandro pulling a blanket up over him.
"We have all the time in the world, mi corazón."
Rudy hummed again, "Recruits were being difficult."
"How?" Ale prompted him gently, running a hand up and down his back.
"Just getting mouthy." He mumbled into his chest.
"That's a new word; picked it up from the 141?" Ale asked, smile colouring his voice.
"Mhm, they started yelling about my family."
"Rudy, you know full well what they were saying wasn't true..what were their names?" Alejandro was obviously making efforts to keep his voice level, he appreciated the effort.
"Not important." Rudy steered the conversation away from his day, instead asking about the film.
Alejandro, taking the hint, started answering the questions with a fond smile, still running his hand in absentminded circles on Rudy's back.
It had been about a week after his disastrous training day, Rudy having moved past it and continued training the same group of recruits- much to Ale's annoyance.
Rudy sighed and rubbed a hand down his face, sliding away from his desk and the paperwork littered all over it.
Deciding it was time for a coffee break, he made his way out of his office towards the rec room.
Crossing the grounds, he heard yelling coming from the cafeteria building.
Changing his path to go check if there was a brawl in the cafeteria, he prepared himself to have to get involved and break up a fight.
He reached the door and quietly inched it open, aiming to assess the damage before anyone spotted him.
What he didn't expect was to see a group of recruits, the ones who'd caused him trouble, sitting on the floor looking a mixture of petrified and disappointed in themselves.
And pacing in front of them all, his back to Rudy, was Alejandro.
He was in the middle of yelling about how important respect was in their career, the door creaking when Rudy pushed it open causing him to pause.
He turned around slowly, face melting from murderous to soft when he saw who it was, "Rudy! Perfect timing mi amor," he snapped back around to the group of recruits, "Up you get, quickly."
The group hurried to obey, scrambling to stand up straight in front of the two officers.
Alejandro nodded, pulling Rudy further into the room, "Now apologise."
The recruits winced before all at once mumbling a, "Sorry, Sir."
"Not loud enough, again."
"Lo siento Sergeant major." The recruits stood up straighter and almost yelled their words, watching the two officers warily.
Alejandro nodded again, dismissing the recruits and watching them sprint out of the hall as fast as possible.
"How long had you guys been in here?" Rudy asked, taking his partner's arm and pulling him towards the rec room.
"Ehh, a few hours."
Rudy hummed and suppressed a fond smile, "Don't do it again Ale."
"I can't promise you that, Rudy." Alejandro took his hand in his own and whistled happily to himself as they walked across the grounds, swinging their arms between them as they went.

You have been seeing videos of couples doing the "Were a couple of course" trend and you wanted to do it with Chris so you sent him a video of the trend and he was on board.
You and Chris decided you guys should do it outside at a park at night if someone asked you why you couldn't give them a set answer.
"You ready" Chris asks me and I nod my head he tells me to go when he starts recording on the regular camera instead of TikTok.
"We're an interracial couple of course I send him cute pictures of other interracial couples and say that us," I say while walking and looking at the camera. Chris passes me my phone while it's still recording. I point the camera at Chris and he looks at the camera.
"We're an interracial couple of course I use your hair products because they are better," Chris says smiling at me.
"You what, "I say before putting the camera down then stop walking while looking at him like he has 10 heads
"I use your hair products and brushes," He says as he stops walking looking at me
"Christopher how long have you been using my stuff, not the brushes i don't care about those I clean them every week.
"Probably 2-3 months," He says shrugging his shoulders
"That's why your hair looks fluffier, but that's also why I keep running out, Chris that shit is expensive, "I say slightly yelling
"I'll buy you more I promise let's continue the video," He says taking the camera out of my hand and placing a kiss on my forehead
"We're an interracial couple of course I say black jokes he doesn't get most of the time, "I say looking at the camera
"I get them......sometimes," he says while I take the camera from him
"We're an interracial couple of course when I'm awake and you're asleep and your bonnet tries to run away I put her back on you," Chris says pointing at me
"That's nice and cute Chris thank you," I say looking at him and then placing a kiss on his nose. Chris took the camera from me and pointed towards me.
" We're an interracial couple of course when I kiss you on the lips I leave a lipstick mark around your lips because my lips are bigger than yours," I say pointing at him
"I love it every time," He says passing me the phone
"We're an Interracial couple of course I save hairstyles I think you would like," He says smiling at me
"That's how I got this hairstyle," I say turning the camera to me and Chris takes the phone out of my hand
'We're an interracial couple of course I quote black movies and he doesn't know what I'm talking about half of the time," I say thinking about the time I quoted Friday and he looked at me confused.
" Well I get some now since we watched all the Friday movies," He says passing me the phone
"We're an interracial couple, of course, I know she's not the one," Chris says referring to the time I said that to him when I was annoyed.
"Bro,' I say laughing and Chris laughs with me after a while we calm down and I pass him the phone
"We're an interracial couple of course we were Ariel and Prince Erik for Halloween," I say remembering our Halloween costume from last year.
"I loved that one," Chris said passing me the phone.
"We're an interracial couple of course I remember your lip combo and foundation shade," Chris said he had stopped walking once we got to the exit of the park.
"AWE," I say before turning the camera off. I put my phone in my back pocket
"There a 7-11 over there wanna go to it," Chris points grabbing my hand and kissing my palm. I nodded my head then I went to hold his hand and Chris led me to the 7-11 once we were inside Chris refused to let go of my hand. We started to walk around and get some snacks. Once we were at the Slushies station I tried to let go of Chris's hand and he wouldn't budge.
"Chris I need my hand," I say trying to pull away
"No, you don't come on we're going to do this together," Chris says placing the snacks on the counter behind us. After a while, we walk out of the store laughing and not holding hands.
"My place or yours," I ask looking at Chris taking a sip of my Slushie
"Your place," Chris says pulling out his phone and texting his brothers. I pull out my phone to look at how long it would take to walk to my place.
"It's a 10-minute walk from here let's go," I say as I look at Chris while he puts his phone away. We begin walking back to my place talking and laughing the whole way there.
Once we get inside my place we take off our shoes and coats placing them on the rack by the door.
We do our nighttime routine and the door dashed us some food. While we ate I edited the video and posted it. Once we were done with our food and our slushies we put our snacks away and went to the bathroom to brush our teeth then went to bed.

something I've been thinking about lately. i do think it's incredibly telling that almost 80 percent of the conversations around 'gatekeeping' and 'posers' and shit end up just becoming vitriolic hatred of 'alt girls' like i hate shit spotify playlists and dollskill fake leather edge and tiktok recommendations as much as the next person but this is a very big attitude coming from a website full of people who spent their formative middle school years shopping at hot topic for multi-colored skinny jeans while listening to like. falling in reverse or 21p unironically (this is a self-own btw). first of all teenagers having shit taste isn't killing punk music. but also why is the object of your hatred always boil down to a woman faking it? as if it isn't the single oldest stereotype in heavy music? like am i insane for thinking this is an issue

One of my fave jackets is this green jacket with a fur hood im wearin rn because 1.) its green 2.) my dad gave it to me 3.) it reminds me of saejima. Who also reminds me of my dad
#snap chats#p sure i talked bout this jacket before but idc read my diary#sorry that every other middle aged man i see i say reminds me of my dad its a compliment#tbh love how i clowned on ichi for being on premium copium bout arakawa but highkey i woulda done the same bout my dad.. i get it ichi..#anyway :) i legally get to talk about my day with him now :)) HE SAID THE FUNNIEST SHIT UPON SEEING ME#HE SAID ‘oh wow we dress similar :)’ and keep in mind. he was wearing a latte brown coat with a black turtleneck and pants and shoes#meanwhile. i approach With Black Pants And Shoes Admittedly but then im in this goofy old ass jacket with a red scarf#and a crane-decorated dress shirt that i got two buttons undone on like DAAD you are senile. hes so funny#so fun my dad actually recognized this was the jacket he got me- it was one of the first things he bought for me after i told My Secret 🙈#also i finally asked how tall he was and i can’t believe my dad matches the criteria to be an rgg character he’s fuckin 6’1 like i thought#AH but today was really nice- i got to hang with my sis and her husband as well as my dad’s wife :)#it was awful tho cause the second my sis saw my dad’s outfit she’s just like ‘it’s so kdramacore’ AND SHES RIIIGHT 😭😭#we later found out dad’s wife loves kpop…. and she bought him his new clothes…. so we are no longer surprised….. AWFUL.#honestly i could write a drama based off my dad’s life i really could it has elements for it. i mean ig i kinda do that already dont i#i borrow. anyways. today was fun :) even if i almost lost my mind trying to take the train the first time#this train system was weird… it wa worth tho it was great seein popop again#yeah….. ugh i have to still drive home from the station. and hope my car is still there#i get very paranoid leaving my car alone so openly i dont like it…#anyways. bye bye :) i might nap til my stop or work on a fic i started#‘snap what happened to’ dont worry about it i need to look at something else or ill scream#ok bye 👋

thinking about all the women whose orbits i've had to remove myself from bc they meant too much to me while i meant too little to them
#i don't talk abt this particular feeling much bc i'm not entirely convinced it's a value-neutral sort of incompatibility—#i tend to feel it's an indication of my own fundamental warping‚ that i get greedy and codependent and desperate and can't just be chill#and that it probably has something to do with the fucked-up codependent relationship model i was raised with#but it really is just like. from the high school friendship i had to drop even though i was besotted (flavor undefined) with her#bc i couldn't handle being Just One of Many Hangers-On‚ even though she said she valued and cared abt me#to the metamour i adored (flavor undefined) who supposedly valued and cared abt me too‚ but‚ like‚ not enough#to the ex-moot who remade who i really mournfully decided i couldn't re-follow bc i couldn't stop pedestalizing her#out of all proportion with the actual intimacy of our actual interactions…#idk. just feels like. very much a Recurrent Pattern for me and not a great one!#(and like. obviously the easy read here is that it was unrequited love every time; and who knows‚ maybe it was—#but it's never been obvious to me what the exact flavor of the thing was‚ just that it was sweet and tangy until eventually it stung)#anyway. i would say 'idk what even got me onto this' but actually i know exactly what got me onto this#which was: reading fic where half the pairing was aro#and like. in the fic it worked for them‚ and like‚ in life it's so often been so close to working for me!#but then the black hole of Undefined Sad Yearning inevitably starts to gape#anyway. hashtag nightblogging ig‚ lol#feelingsblogging#past lives#the psyche#(eta thinking abt it more this has also sometimes happened with trans ppl of various non-woman stripes#but in those instances i *have* just mentally filed the dynamic under (failed/abortive) romance+‚ i think#honestly very possible that's where every instance of it belongs and it's just that i don't know how to be in love with women.#like i don't identify as not-attracted-to-women‚ i'm definitely attracted to women—#'sometimes‚' i started to say‚ but like. i'm attracted to women at the same rate i'm attracted to people of other genders‚ really—#but like. societal queerphobia really does a number on you.#like. not that playing the woman's part in the cishet relationship-escalator model appeals or makes any sense for me either#but at least it's‚ idk‚ something to kick off from??#whereas with women it's just like. a ladder into mysterious fog. how do. where go.#insane to me that i'm this old and yet this is still where i am with this. god.)

grad school is just fighting with the worst online library database trying to find a workable edition of a semi-obscure text and going slowly rabid because all my “institutional access” and “third-party sources” can get me is:
- the crunchiest, highest contrast, most sandblasted, misaligned scan in existence of an original manuscript (no OCT or pdf available)
- one (1) verse translation on hathitrust from 1831 which has since been thoroughly lambasted for wildly inaccurate interpretation of the text
- an unpublished critical edition cited in the footnotes of 2 secondary scholarship pieces, available only via pleading email to the academic who wrote it and is now retired
+ an unrelated modern cookbook / memoir / high fantasy romance novel w/ the same or similar title

“Forget a footnote or a chapter— I want the whole fucking history book!”

Will sit on nearly anybody's lap if no chair is available#(she doesn't sit in chairs properly anyway lol. always wants to be on the counter or something)#(*kitty foreman voice* she likes to feel tall)#toes the fashion line between bohemian & whimsigoth- if it's got a skirt & looks like something a 70s era groupie would have worn? she's in#has multiple ear piercings mirrored nostrils a septum & a vertical labret. silver girlie.#idk just random little bits! slowly fleshing her out & obvi more will come as the story progresses ^^#if: infamous

this is what i was referring to the other day btw.... she literally said well you people were annoying last time so fuck off i'm not doing it anymore.... and i stand with her <3
#i love the way she writes responses to people who are clearly annoying her... one of the funniest things about her fr#beth.txt#this post is from 2015 just fyi. so both 1 year pre tda and 5 years pre tlh#i don't know what characters she's speciaifcally referring to that she explicitly said their sexuality before the book came out. because i#wasn't there back then. but i CAN speak to the way she handled ty. which i WAS there for. and it was hilarious. you all really missed out#one of those things you had to experience in real time spanning years...#that was back when this franchise was still accessible tho. and you could get into it with minimal work#there were only like ten books back then....#ok ten is a lot but you have to understand that there are 21 now. AND sobh. and four more coming. AT LEAST.#not even counting all the holly black books that are not essential to the tsc lore PER SE. but actually they are. for REAL ones.#like i cannot imagine thinking you have a full understanding of cassandra's work and you haven't read holly's modern faerie tales or the sp#spiderwick chronicles. OR MAGESTERIUM.#god imagine being a cassie fan but you havent read the magesterium books.....#(me. i never finished them)#and then also you of course must familiarize yourself with the writing of cassie's collaborators on the novella collections.#so you also have to read hacking harvard. and 13 little blue envelopes.#and of couurse you have to do all of this concurrently with wearing a cheap fandom neckalce every day (izzy's ruby necklace) that turns the#back of your neck green and gets really worn and ugly looking because it's cheap metal and you literally don't take it off.#anyway. only THEN do you understand the lifestyle.#what the fuck was this post originally about. oh yeah cassie is soooo funny <3

@opportunity-strikes HI HELLO I’m gonna answer this heeere because I just realized I did a couple of sketches of them way back but never posted them aaahah
Indigo "Skylights" Asterix Pollux Kosjisk Ankabut Fatespinner is my pirate!! Quite awhile back one of my friends mentioned the idea of an all-gnome pirate crew whose ship’s name is comprised of the names of all the ships they’ve successfully raided and/or destroyed, and long story short it ended up being a one-shot and hopefully an ongoing series of one-shots :D
Indigo is the ship’s navigator and lookout; they’re a circle of stars druid, and their star map is a gold false eye etched with constellations, with a Gem of Brightness core that can project the stars outward-- which is, not to brag, the coolest idea I’ve ever had about anything (it’s an admittedly low bar; I’m not a very creative Ideas Guy lmao)
Tumblr media
also their Archer starry form gives them a flintlock that shoots comets, and their Primal Savagery cantrip is flavored as a cutlass that’s formed from an extension of their starlight :D
Tumblr media
#dnd#dungeons and dragons#gnome#druid#character art#heroforge#imagine the treasure map from treasure planet. that's sorta how their eyeball is (they pop it out to do readings and stuff)#in starry form their eye is the only thing that remains solid and opaque and you can see the whole thing floating and shining#I never got an opportunity to blind someone with my eyeball when we played 😭 hopefully next time lol#I default to they/them because I personally prefer consistency but they use any pronouns and their gender is 'none for me thanks'#they're an astrology bitch and constantly saying things like 'the stars predict you're gonna see a bird today'#but they also have like you know... Actual Portents and stuff as class features but they straight-face all of it#so it's hard to tell when they're being serious about astrology and when they're bullshitting you#similarly if you ask what happened to their eye they'll give a different answer every time including 'this IS my real eye?'#also we've talked about doing rotating DMs for Pirate Gnomes but my friend who ran it first had us explore a mysterious ghost ship#which was extremely cool AND we managed to grab her nameplate off her before she sank forever into the depths HELL YEAH#their roll20 bio is just 1) the 'look at the sky-- it's not dark and black and without character' bit from the van gogh ep of doctor who#and 2) the bridge from weird al's 'that's your horoscope for today'#so that's The Vibe lmao#anyway they're cool I like em they've got a handful of features I didn't get to use that I'm excited about in a theoretical future adventure#altho I'd want to better dial in how to actually roleplay them lol their voice and manner of speech was all over the place :'D#my OCs#Indigo
