#and yes I ship both xiao just loves his traveler too much

Every time I read any fanfic about xiao and the traveler (lumine/aether) I always get so amazed about how most of the writers show the undeniable and unavoidable attraction between those two, how Xiao tries so hard to hide it, not because of embarrassment but mostly because he thinks he’s unworthy, and how the traveler is always like “there’s no way he likes me more than this …. Right??” It’s always so wholesome because they both would trust each others’ lives to one another no questions asked. And when they finally open up to one another the relieve, desperation and yearning for each other is put so beautifully into words I LOVE MY CANON SHIP 🚢

prompt ✧ their first impression of you
characters ✧ xiao, kazuha, wanderer
warnings ✧ gn!reader, kazu and scara both pining for you
a/n ✧ i have a few requests in my inbox rn, and i promise i’ll get to them.. but this popped in my head
Tumblr media
XIAO
✧ to be completely honest, he ignored you. he doesn’t communicate well with humans and he automatically assumed you wouldn’t be any different. he had no opinion on your physical appearance because he instantly forgot what you looked like after you left. however, once you had made it very clear you were going to befriend him— wether he liked it or not— he started to notice things about you. he pushed you away over and over, claiming he had zero interest in you and your friendship, and yet you still continued to visit him. your persistence intrigued him, once he makes it clear to someone that he wants nothing to do with them they get offended and leave. but you didn’t, you stayed. this realization hit him hard and he quickly grew to crave your company (all part of the plan) eventually that craving for your friendship turned into a craving for more. he would get jealous whenever he’d see you talking to someone else, or he’d feel a sting in his chest when you called him your friend. he had a hard time placing these feelings and it only got worse when you were around, so he started avoiding you. it made sense in his head, but he didn’t think about how it would effect you. after weeks without seeing you, the feeling of needing your company got too strong and he gave in. when you were walking in town and caught site of him on the balcony, you ran up the stairs yelling his name. he finally realized the ache in his stomach as love and confessed to you then and there.
"i think i have feelings for you, what do i do?"
KAZUHA
✧ he noticed your looks first and thought you were stunning, but when he spoke to you he found you even more enticing. he noticed you at the harbor and quickly was drawn to your character. he was sort of disappointed in himself, crushing on a stranger just because they were cute. he told himself over and over that he would talk to you, just to see if your personality was as attractive as you. he was sort of shy at first though. multiple times came around when he had the opportunity to approach you, but he kept chickening out. part of him was scared you wouldn’t have an agreeable personality, and he wanted to keep admiring you for just a bit longer if that were the case. eventually the perfect opportunity arose and he knew he’d be an idiot not to take his chances. you were helping load up the ship for the crews next trip, you saw them struggling and decided to help out. (yes you’re that nice) he approached you casually and introduced himself, asking if you were boarding the ship. he knew you weren’t, obviously, but he didn’t want to seem like a total creep. when he saw your kind smile and heard your name fall from your lips, he felt his heart race. after he witnessed your kindness first hand, he fell totally head over heels.
"it’s extremely nice to meet you, will you be joining us in our travels?"
WANDERER
✧ hated you. or at least he thought he did, he wasn’t sure. it had to be his brain frying from all the sleepless nights he’s had lately. yep… he was finally loosing it. he had thought that you were in his head so much because he absolutely despised you, but it was entirely the opposite. he’d never felt attraction towards someone before you, so he didn’t know what the feeling was. the feeling in his stomach felt similar to how he felt when he was looking at someone he hated though, so it had to be that. he sees you shopping it town a lot, conveniently at the same time he’s out. cannot go anywhere without seeing you and it pisses him off to no end. he knew you weren’t following him, you’ve never even looked at him, but that pissed him off even more. you don’t even know what he looks like, yet he’s memorized every curve and feature of your face. after weeks upon weeks of seeing you everywhere he turned he finally decided to talk to you. didn’t even think about what to say or have an excuse ready, he just walked up to you. he knew he probably looked mad, your look of confusion and worry before he even said a word tipped him off. took a breath a tried to relax his face a little before speaking. he actually told you he sees you all the time and questioned why you do so much shopping, which made you laugh. once he heard the noise, it kept replaying in his head over and over again. and when you finally spoke with a teasing tone he knew it was over for him.
"no i haven’t been watching you! i just happened to notice how much money you spend on such useless items, why do you even need that anyway?"

My favorite Genshin relationships.
Xiao/Lumine. THE one and only correct male Lumine ship. It's so good, plus there's so much good fanart out there, good fanfic, just an absolutely beautiful ship. And probably the most canon of them all. I just love it.
Sara/Itto: A fun ship, enemies to lovers, all that beautiful nonsense, plus there's a ton of good fanart and fic of it.
Cyno/Nilou. I feel like it's a cool thematically fitting. A great dynamic, and a small but extremely good collection of fanart, it's just so beautiful and aesthetic.
Kazuha/Beidou: I love it. It's just such a fun dynamic, and really hot too.
Jeht/Lumine. I don't really get into F/F ships, but this......THIS....it's perfect, it's tragic, it's so good. Not to mention jeht is virtually the most canonical lgb character in genshin, with the voicelines with Lumine specifically, I love it. (And to add to Jeht's-no-stop-tragedy-train, Lumine's obviously going to outlive her). top quality.
crackship: Candace/Tighnari: I mean, they're both guardians/leaders/of peoples in the desert and rainforest respectively.
Aether: no one really. He's a friend to all, but I don't think he's romantic with anyone really. In a way he's like a benevolent eldritch monstrosity. an otherworldly being helping everyone that he can and looking for his sister.
-YES, I believe Lumine ships work but Aether ships don't. fite me.
Bonus: Razor being literally everyone's family.
--Cyno: long lost brother and can't tell me otherwise
--Bennett, Fischl, Klee, traveller: Best friends.
--Rosaria: older sister. (literally his step sister since both were adopted by Varka).
--Mother/teacher: Lisa
--father figures: Varka, Andrius
--and Razor/Amber feels pretty nice,

PART 1 HERE
PART 2
Suggestive if you squint———————————————————————————————————————
"Thanks for the help, traveler."
"Anything for him to learn his lesson," she said, smiling.
You smiled back. You recently used your vision to fake your death, and with the help of the traveler, you succeeded. Before that incident, you had a chat with traveler and your situation with him. She was shocked, she didn't think the adeptus Xiao would do that, especially you. Even Paimon was shocked. You explained how he would always help her out and never help you whenever you ask him. You also mentioned about a picnic you planned and that he tood you up. No matter how much you love, care, or help him, he never listens to you.
"I didn't know he was that cruel to do you like that.." she told, putting a hand on yours.
"I just hope he can understand what he's doing. He just looks so head over rels over you after you came."
"I know what to do just for him to sob for you presence..if only you're up for it, of course."
"Of course, I'm ready for anything you plan.." you said, holding her hand with a smile on your face.
That's what happen before that incident. What you both did was that traveler had to buy fake blood and make it smell real. Then there's you, you had to look dead and lifeless, with the help with your cryo vision, it lowered the temperature around you and yourself. And boy, it was freezing. It took a few tries for you to make it look real with the help with some practice with Traveler and Paimon. After that, you three both planned when to do it, and decided to do it on that day. First, Traveler had to hang out with Xiao and distract him. While Paimon, had to rip small bits of your clothing to make it look real. You yourself painted the fake blood on yourself and god, it smelled real too. Oh how Xiao wouldn't know a single thing of what you three were doing. After Xiao carried your body to your favorite place, you were awed by the beautiful view. This was the place he first heard your singing and met you. He hummed the song you sang when he first met you, as his tears spilled out. Traveler hid in a spot in the area and snatch you before he saw you. Traveler ran for her life as she held you in bridal style. You felt a tingle in you stomach, no, this was only part of the plan, you knew you shouldn't feel like this towards her. Traveler quickly placed you down and you used you cryo vision to make a frozen bubble around you as you change the clothes you were wearing. Gosh, you were lucky it wasn't a spot Xiao knew. You were grateful for the traveler's help. After you finished, you kicked the ice and walked out like nothing happened. Traveler soon carried you to Beidou's ship, The Crux. She put you down gently and was about to step back but you pull her into a hug.
"Thank you so much...I owe you for this one," you said, letting go of you hug and smiling at her.
"Of course, anything to help," she answered, and smiled back.
"And bye to you Paimon, don't worry, I didn't forget you."
"Good, because Paimon thought you forgotten her! A—And goodbye!"
You waves them a farewell as the ship started. You sighed in relief, finally a new chapter of your life, starting at Inazuma. You heard the wonderful scenery there and you just have to absolutely go there! You were so happy, but also felt bad for Xiao, your ex-lover who was once your love. You didn't declare your break-up with him but leaving him is a way for him to know that you both are done.
"Hello there, I guess your the one we're delivering to Inazuma," he said with a soft smile on his face.
"Oh, um, yes. Are you going to Inazuma?" you asked.
He chuckled and said, "Oh no, I'm not going. I'm just a traveler who traveles with Beidou."
"Beidou? Is she the captain?"
"That's right. Anyways, what's your name? I'm Kaedehara Kazhua."
"Oh—I'M L/N Y/N."
"Nice to meet you, Y/N."
A few months later, he's already confessed his feelings to you. You've accepted and you both now have a house together but you both mostly travel together with Beidou and her crew. You both have come back from your trip from Sumeru and we're exhausted. You both were now at Liyue because Beidou had to see Ningguang.
"Gosh, that was tiring," you said, yawning.
"I know dove, but it was fun wasn't it?"
"I guess you could say that, you said, stepping out of the boat.
You both were looking for a place to stay, too bad to was farther than usual. You and Kazhua both made in in time before sun went down. You went up and asked a room for two of you to rest in. After you finish, you both decided to walk around for awhile. While walking with Kazhua, you felt a tug on your wrist.
"Y/N is that you?" a familiar voice asked.
You turned around and saw Xiao, your former lover. Xiao looks like he hasn't seen you in ages (obviously) . He looks into your eyes and gently touches your face.
"Excuse me, who are you?" Kazhua asked.
"Adeptus Xiao, who are you?"
"Her lover, you must be Y/N's former lover."
"Former? What does this mean?"
"Remember that time when you saw my lifeless body? I wasn't actually dead at that time."
Xiao looked at you with a shocked face
"B—But why? Why'd you do that?!"
"Simple, remember that time when Y/N had a picnic all set up? Yeah, and you stood her up, she waited until afternoon and you never came." A familiar voice said.
"And from what I heard, during the lantern lights, you went with Traveler instead of your lover," Kazhua said.
"To add to that, remember our anniversary? When I gave you that gift, I saw it in the trashcan afterwards. It took so much time on it and you decide to throw it away just like that? I can't believe I took so much time on it just for it to be thrown away."
"I—I didn't mean to, I didn't think it meant that much to you.."
"Yeah right! Paimon doesn't think that's a good answer!"
"To our understandment, I think you should move on from Y/N. It seems clear that she already moved on from you," Kazhua said, crossing his arms.
Xiao lowered his head, and answered, "Fine then. Go enjoy your lover. I won't bother."
He disappeared quickly in black smoke. You four sighed in relief.
"Thanks for the back up, traveller."
"No problem, I'm happy to help like I said all of those months ago," she said, smiling.
"Hey! Paimon deserves to be thanked too!"
"Of course, thank you too Paimon," you chuckled.
"I think it's time for us to go rest now, it's nice seeing you two again too," Kazhua said before turning around and taking your hand.
"So, after that, do you want to do something else?"
"I think I have something in mind for us to do," you said, beaming him a mischievous smile.
As you and Kazhua walk back to rest. Xiao watches from a far, wishing that you were his again, wishing that he never made those choices. Oh how he miss your gentle smile, your gleaming eyes, and your gentle voice. He deeply regrets everything, but for now, he'll protect and watch you from afar.

Hi~ it's me again ^^
I would like to request Venti x Reader x Xiao (since you mentioned poly relationship with the reader is okay) with the playable reader au, if it's alright with you.
Take your time, thanks~ >.<
I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS REQUEST!!!
characters: Venti, Xiao
-> Masterlist
content!! playable reader AU, gn reader, poly relationship, spoiler for Xiao's voiceline "About Venti", a few mentions of death
Tumblr media
Venti + Xiao
Okay so. Canonically speaking, Venti doesn't know of Xiao's existence, however you do know both of them and they know you so fans just kind of assume that you'd introduce them to each other/Venti to Xiao!
You're an adeptus that has finished their duty and decided to leave Liyue to live in Mondstadt, where you met Venti.
People started shipping you with both of them because of your voice lines about them and because of their voice lines about you/Xiao's about Venti, which implies that he knows him!
Xiao, about Venti: "Venti? So that's the name he goes by. His tunes are... forget it."
Xiao, about Reader: "You wish to know more about Reader? They have proven their strength over many millennial and deserve rest. There is nothing more to it."
Venti, about Reader: "Ah! That fellow from Liyue, yes, Reader? Their ability to differentiate alcoholic beverages just by one simple taste is fascinating! They're truly meant to live in Mondstadt ehe! ... Oh, they didn't come here for the wine but to take a break from 'work'? Ahh.. I see."
Reader, about Xiao: "Xiao once was a close friend of mine, however over the years he became quite bitter and we fell apart. To no ones surprise of course. I wouldn't be able to handle being in his shoes. I have high respect for him, both for everything he has gone through and for still upholding his duty and protecting Liyue. Even though, we don't see each other often, I know that I can put all my trust in him... I really hope he can say the same about me.."
Reader, about Venti: "The most popular bard of Mondstadt? I've met him, sure, however something feels off about him.. Being in his presence, even if only weakly, feels like the power I have felt all my years under Morax's command. Hm, I won't look into it much, for now I'll enjoy all the different types of wine he and I drink in Angel's Share! Maybe you'd like to join us one day, Traveler?"
Even if your voice lines were mostly the reasons for the shipping to start, another big factor was the dynamic the three of you would most likely have in a relationship!
Xiao, being rather distanced and probably also scared of relationships in fear of hurting someone would need constant reassurance, which you and Venti can perfectly provide.
Venti also plays music to calm the Yaksha down if his karmic debt starts acting up. And you, having known Xiao for a long time also know what to do in severe situations.
However, he isn't the only one with problems. Venti, as much as he acts like the happy bard that everyone loves, is having a terrible time getting over the death of his friend even if he died many many years ago.
All of you are immortal and therefore relate to losing someone and experiencing death, which makes you understand each other well.
When Venti just feels down because he doesn't even know who he himself is (since he took the form of his friend and probably also his personality, etc). You and Xiao are quick to come to aid and tell him that you two fell in love with HIM for a reason.
Reader also hasn't had an all too peaceful life themselves. The archon war has made them lose many people dear to them and made them start fearing interactions with humans because of how fragile they are and because of how fast their life can be over.
Xiao and Venti, while at least relating a little to that fear (Xiao, Venti relates a lot, but he's healing and so are you and Xiao), help you overcome it and not be so scared of death anymore, even if it can be quite cruel because it doesn't always have to be.
Shippers just really love the idea of you three slowly but surely healing from all the trauma you've gone through (they just don't wanna see their favorites be sad, let's be honest).
There's also barely any angst in fanarts, fanfiction, ... because people really hate seeing you three sad it's actually hilarious.
Your fanbase is so soft and wholesome, it's sickening.
_____ main: "lvl 70?"
Reader main: "Sorry! I don't have anyone else fully build right now.. :/"
Xiao main: "Don't worry, I'll protect you"
Venti main: "ME TOO >:D"
_____ main: "XiaoVenDer (xiao x venti x reader) shippers (derogatory)"
Tumblr media
I literally had so much fun writing this omfg!! Venti and Xiao are my top two favorite characters :))
ANYWAY, this is kinda long? I think??? whatever, I hope you enjoyed!

pretending you’re not his s/o. [1]
Tumblr media
A/n: happy Thursday!! whew, the week is almost over thank goodness. I hope you’re all doing well and thank you for being patient while I knock out these requests <333 Scaramouche’s is long for obvious reasons (I simp) ALSO thank you for 800 followers, I hit that milestone yesterday ahagdwcsh omg I’m growing so much wtf. thank you all :) <33
Summary: the boys having to pretend their s/o is their secretary, maid, friend, etc. (someone other than their s/o)
Parings: Childe/Reader, Venti/Reader, Kaeya/Reader, Diluc/Reader, Albedo/Reader, Aether/Reader, Xiao/Reader, Chongyun/Reader, Xingqiu/Reader, Scaramouche/Reader, Razor/Reader, Bennett/Reader, Zhongli (fem and gn mixed)
Warnings: violence tbh (in Scara’s especially chile), swearing, crack, angst?, fluff
Word count: 1.7k
Requested by bestie @mintydump
Tumblr media
Refuses (tells people you’re his s/o and compromises the mission)
Tumblr media
Childe: for some odd reason, he was sent out by the Tsaritsa to retrieve a man who was impersonating one of the eleven harbingers and you were to go along. she said men were much more willing to follow along, if there was a beautiful woman promising affection, etc. the only problem was, to win over the impersonator, you had to pretend to be Childe’s co-worker. he hated this idea, and the minute he left, he reassured you he would not call you his partner unless it was romantically. so hell yeah, he’ll compromise the mission and will return without the impersonator. he does not care, you’re not his co-worker. he’ll just be like, “sorry, next time send me alone.”
Venti: jean why... ofc you'd be great company duh, but why did you need to be his babysitter on this expedition?!? sure, Venti may look like a child, but this was stupid! he’s loose-lipped anyways, so he’ll accidentally let it slip to whoever that you’re not his babysitter and that you’re his s/o. he’ll be like, “oops.” with the biggest shit-eating grin. he doesn’t care though, you’re not his babysitter grrr.
Razor: he also accidentally lets it slip you’re his s/o. hunters were after him and his friends, you included (you’re human, he considers you family though, therefore wolf) and he just yells, “don’t touch my mate, GRRR” before ya know, ending them lmao. it never crossed his mind that maybe it wasn’t in his/your best interest to say what you were to him. other hunters could be nearby listening and then target you at a later date. but, tbh he will worry about that another day. as long as you’re safe now, he’ll always be there to protect you.
Tumblr media
Refuses (he doesn’t refuse the mission, but he refuses calling you someone other than his s/o/he won’t say if you’re his s/o or not.)
Tumblr media
Kaeya: he definitely won’t be calling you anything other than his s/o but he also won’t offer this mission to anyone else. he’s more than capable and he can do this without you having to be in danger too. if someone asks who you are, he’ll just cooly respond with, “none of your business.” and move on. he’ll use that whenever someone asks who you are. even if someone gets a little pushy, he won’t use anything to clue them of your relationship.
Xingqiu: he was supposed to borrow steal a book from someone. he needed it for personal purposes lol; it would be great for his collection. and from his understanding, the person who has it wasn’t using it. though you were confused on why he needed to break into somewhere to retrieve it. you just happened to be with him when he broke in, he says it was an accident that you were there, but tbh it’s all part of the thrill and his mischievousness. despite Chongyun warning him that he shouldn’t have brought you, he still did. and when the person who owns the book whips out a sword and then asks why you were brought along if you seemed timid and unreluctant to steal, Xingqiu’s response is, “well she’s my girlfriend! duh.” cue deadpan. legit no hesitation.
Scaramouche: this mission is happening no matter what. the Tsaritsa’s life is on the line; highly trained assassins from all over Teyvat were sent into Snezhnayan territory to kill her. she could protect herself, but Scaramouche was feeling feverish for battle; he was one of the more unhinged and dangerous harbingers, she entrusted this task upon him. he never turned down a mission. plus, it’s your fault you’re even here. why are you here again!? he left you home in Inazuma days ago. also... who the hell was looking after your daughter if not you...?? when you caught up with him once he was well away from Liyue Harbor’s docks (so he couldn’t force you to get back onto the ship, smart) you told him you weren’t some housewife and you missed the thrill of adventure, so you snuck on the ship too. he wasn’t sure how you got on in the first place without alerting The Kanjobugyo (you’ve snuck out before, so he’s told them not to let you leave, though he assumed you used your former title of a Fatui to gain clearance) let’s just say he’s not happy you’re here, but he’s not turning back now, he’s determined to end this. in the end, he kills all the assassins (ofc). on your way back to Liyue Harbor, arguing about why you’re here (you’re losing), another assassin comes out of the shadows; intent on killing the both of you. he’d managed to grab the end of your hair in his fist and was going to slit your throat. Scaramouche will say, “don’t touch my wife, you insolent scum.” he doesn’t have a problem telling those who have a death wish of your intimate relationship, because they’ll die in the end anyway; therefore to him, it’d be like they never knew.
Zhongli: not many people know you’re his s/o anyways, so if he has something to do, especially dangerous you’re not coming along. he’ll make sure of that. on missions or something, he refuses to call you anything other than his s/o, but if he can’t/wants to keep it private he’ll call you by your name. if you’re facing off against someone, he’ll be like, “y/n, please watch out, I’ll handle this.” he never wants to put you in danger, and tbh even someone threatening who knows your name is a risk, but if they ever found out that you were not only his s/o but the s/o of an Archon? yeah, you’d be on a hit list just like him.
Tumblr media
Accepts (he will do this and won’t ask any questions)
Tumblr media
Diluc: sorry y’all, but once this is discussed in full and you agree, he’s going to accept it. this mission is important. it’s not often people travel into Inazuma, so he was very lucky his wine is sold there and that he has a popular, well-known name. shipments of his wine weren’t making it into the borders and he was to find the culprit behind it; someone was stealing obviously. you were to go along with a few other soldiers and when jean told him it would be safer to call you his maid and not his fiancé, he agreed. you wouldn’t be a target that way. if anyone wonders why he took his maid, he’ll just say, “she’s to travel everywhere with me.” don’t worry, after the missions over he’ll reassure you he doesn’t think of you as his maid, definitely not. he’ll apologize profusely. “please don’t think of yourself that way, you’re not my maid, I adore you very much, sweetheart.”
Xiao: he already doesn’t go around calling you his wife or telling just anyone, only the Archons know and the fallen Yaksha once knew (you’re one of the female Yaksha) so being talked into this wasn’t a big deal at all. before, he didn’t run around Liyue telling people about your relationship because you both enjoyed the privacy. but now, having to call you his fellow Yaksha who’s been working alongside him for centuries, kinda feels like he’s ignoring or not acknowledging you. sure, you do hold the same titles (Yaksha) and yes you’ve known eachother for centuries, but really, you’ve been together for centuries. if you’re not bothered, then he doesn’t mind. but if you are? he’s very apologetic and will repay you in some way. “you’re not a weakling, you have no reason to worry.” he needs to do this task, he’ll never turn away from the people and if you have to be known as your Yaksha title to him and others, so be it.
Chongyun: it’s not that he doesn’t want to call you his s/o. it’s just he’s a quiet guy and never has told anyone about your relationship; only Xingqiu knows. so he has no problem introducing you as his friend to absolute strangers, especially if you’re okay with it. if you’re not and tell him, he’ll be sure to never call you a friend again. he’s really looking out for your safety, people can be two-faced as he’s learned from Xingqiu’s fantasy books. he wants to protect and keep you safe, and if you need to be addressed as his friends a few times then that’s how it’s going to go.
Tumblr media
Accepts (he’ll accept but he has so many questions on why and hates it)
Tumblr media
Albedo: he will accept if there’s a logical reason. for example, if you absolutely need to come because you’re his assistant or something and can offer your expertise, he will accept. but if you have no need? you’re not coming, please stay home. the whole time, he hates this. yes, you’re his assistant irl, but you’re his s/o, not just an assistant. it makes him sick that he has to call you that tbh, even if it’s your occupation. but it’s necessary for a lot of reasons you two have already discussed. after the mission is complete, he’s never going to stop apologizing. “love, please do not take what I said to heart, you’re not just an assistant.”
Aether: he has to be talked into this a lot. once kaeya and jean tell him the seriousness and importance of seeing his sister again, especially after all they’ve discovered about her, he’ll agree. no matter how much he hates calling you his travel partner, he has to. his sister has turned to the dark side for whatever reason and this meeting already is risky enough. if she finds out you’re his girlfriend, who knows how she’ll react; she’s very unpredictable now, a little unhinged even. but it does hurt to have to call you that, let’s be real. he never wants to say or hear that ever again.
Bennett: he knows he’s quite unfortunate, so you going with him on expeditions is just stupid and you could face something awful due to his bad luck. you go either way though, what a good s/o :) he almost slips a few times, especially facing off against a few lowlife Fatui. but then you remind him of the dangers of doing that and you’re immediately just a friend/member of Benny's Adventure Team. pls, he hates this so much, like why can’t he call you what you are?!? he’s constantly like, “well why can’t I just say you’re my s/o already? they won’t harm you as long as I’m here!” ?!?!?!? HE JUST DID?!?!?!?!

Hello, i want to req kazuha x f!reader and if you can do nsfw, please 👉🏻👈🏻 since it's kazuha, maybe he's more like soft!dom. Thank you!
IEHFIEH OKAY OKAY I got really excited about writing this so it's a WHOPPING 3K WORDS! So many words
Kazuha's another Xiao situation for me, it seems...not to mention my favorite to write is very painfully obviously soft doms. That being said, I did make him a little more flirty than his voice lines suggest.
The poem that is referenced in the fic is In the Sea of Iwami by Kakinomoto Hitomaro!
Drowning in You
Summary: At first, you know little of the mysterious ronin's past, but little by little, you find your fates entwined.
Contains: ((NSFW 18+)) Kazuha x afab!reader, soft dom!Kazuha, reader is traveler but not Aether or Lumine, small mention of alcohol, hint of overstim, poetic
How vast, the ocean seems to be, even more so in the dark of night. Above, the sky is a spattered array with thousands of glittering stars, the moon but a sliver. The ship gently rocks in the calm waters as a meager dot upon waves. Despite the moon's position already setting back down along the dark curtain of night and the crew's final decision to retire to their quarters, you're awake.
Lost in all the thoughts of how you've just begun to experience all Liyue has only to now be well on your way to Inazuma.
The dangers that others have spoken of, that you know are to come…you’re sure that your resolve will be tested once more in the unfamiliar land.
The silent repose is interrupted by a voice.
"May I join you, traveler?"
Kazuha.
As you've come to find in the few days you've been aboard the Alcor, the red-dressed man often sits and watches the way the waves roll along the surface of the ocean and the birds soar across the sky. Lost in all that the sea has to offer, there's hardly a moment when he's not tuned in to the whispers of nature in quiet appreciation. Though, you notice, never this toward morning.
Shuffling to the side, you pat the solid wooden deck beside you. He takes a seat with legs folded beneath him.
"It's beautiful tonight—the gentle breeze, the sounds of the water hitting the hull...I fully understand the appeal. But why is it you're still awake?"
Before tonight, you've hardly heard the gentle timbre of his voice. The raspiness—whether natural or from his own fatigue, you're not sure, but a feeling of warmth settles. It swirls, tempting. Breaking your thoughts, you politely meet his gaze.
"Thinking, of everything, I guess."
You pull your knees to your chest, resting your chin on them. Though it’s a warm night, the breeze provides a chill from the ocean.
"Of Inazuma, too."
Kazuha hums in understanding.
Once more, the silence of the ship and sea envelop you to drift back to your thoughts, closing your eyes and forgetting what your handsome companion just stirred in you.
But your mind drifts back to him regardless.
Your heart quickens at the thought of him staring out towards the sea, the sun shining down just right and highlighting pale hair and scarlet eyes.
There’s little doubt that he’s caught your eye, handsome, with an aura of unknown strength. A wanted man, from what Beidou has told you. Forever on the run and far from home. She fully believes there’s no need to worry, but you know others might think otherwise.
They whisper how it’s certain with the breathtaking skill he displays in his swordsmanship that his abilities come from a multitude of experience. Speaking of the way he keeps so to himself. A samurai with a lack of a master.
A ronin.
It’s not surprising, the rumors that spread quick.
Though, you find, the speculation of danger quickly dissipates once the realization of his gentle spirit and knack for poetry comes to light. He’s gentle, you realize. Kind.
It’s hard to believe someone as free-spirited as he would be a criminal.
Kazuha is patient, body turned so he’s facing you while you think, examining the look upon your features. The realization that you’ve been lost in your thoughts about the very man warms your cheeks. You finally speak up.
“And you?”
“Most of the same,” He replies. “There’s no need to worry—about Inazuma, I mean. After what I’ve seen, I trust in your abilities.”
His hand settles atop one of yours. Its touch is warm.
“I may not be able to join you, but I’m sure of this.”
You look back out to the deep blue waters. But he doesn’t move, not until you look back into eyes the color of the very maple leaves he dons.
Expression serious, Kazuha leans closer. The skip in your chest worsens the heat that creeps up your neck and cheeks. But as quickly as he does, he pulls away, his hand returning to lay in his lap.
“Away I have come, parting from her / Even as the creeping vines do part. / My heart aches within me…”
Wistful, he recites, and turns his gaze to the moon.
“A poem, from my homeland. Bittersweet in it’s meaning. Whether he sees his lover upon his return—it isn’t known.”
“Do you? Miss someone?”
He chuckles, shaking his head.
“Not quite in the same way. A friend. Though I can’t help but wonder what it’d be like to have someone like that. Someone to hold so dearly within your very being that the thought of being without them brings physical pain…”
A hand lifts, pressing to his chest as if trying to feel for heaviness.
The two of you watch the night for a bit longer in silence.
As your long and arduous journey dwindles, you find yourself seeking Kazuha’s company more and more.
Unbeknownst to you, he does the same.
Most often, it’s between duties on the ship, arms leaning against the wood banister as you both watch the waves and birds as they meet in swoops. They glide with wings tucked, diving into the murky waters, soon to break back through with a prize.
An osprey, he tells you.
The pleasant bird-watching comes quickly to an end before you’re both swept back into work until late afternoon when the crew gathers to drink and celebrate.
After all, there’s only a few days left until you finally dock at your destination and the night is beautiful and clear.
You find Kazuha tucked away towards the quarterdeck.
With everyone else scattered on the main deck, the two of you are left alone with the waves and wind.
“You’re not going to join them?”
He looks up from his drink, setting it down before rising. Despite the way the sun has set, you can clearly see the mirth dancing in his eyes. Kazuha stops a few inches away from your face with his head tilted in question.
“Weeks we have known each other now…should I be offended that you’re still asking that?”
Clearly the unimpressed look on your face is enough to make him chuckle and apologize.
“No, I won’t be joining them. Not when I’d rather stay away and have you to myself instead.”
You flush and give him a little push. Again, he laughs and apologizes but you know that he doesn’t mean it. Regardless, you brush past him to sit where he was before, patting the deck in a way not different from that first night. All the same, your heart skips a beat.
“May I join you, traveler?”
A smile spreads across your lips. “Of course.”
So he sits and the two of you find solace in the little conversations you have.
It’s nice, to have someone to be close to, to share interests despite having backgrounds so distinct. He offers you a bit of his drink and you take a sip, holding it between both your hands. The face you make, he decides, is unforgettable just as it is hilarious. But his innocent enjoyment only lasts so long.
A dribble of the deep liquid beads at the corner of your lip.
You miss the way that his attention flicks to the way your tongue peeks out to catch the glistening drop.
Kazuha shifts, eyes flicking from your lip back down to the cup in your hand.
When his hand touches yours, guiding you to place the cup down, you snort. But he continues so he can interlace your fingers with his, to hear the way your breath shifts and sees how your pupils dilate when you realize the difference in his mood.
Would you mind if he were to…?
When your lips part and your eyes lower to his, he gets his answer.
"I hear the way that your heart beats loudly in your chest, your breath bated...” Really, his own hammers in his chest, louder than the crash of waves against the ship’s hull. He squeezes your hand.
“Just as I can feel your desire."
And truthfully, you know he’s noticed the way your gaze lingers on him. How when you two accidentally brush hands that you don’t immediately pull away. Not anymore.
Small flashes of little interactions with him come to light.
Finally, he leans in, and you find that his lips taste of the lingering bitterness of wine, tongue sweet as it laps at yours. He looses himself in the velvet of your lips and how they seem to meld to his so perfectly, the music of your sighs filling his senses and your heart beats like the rumble of the ocean.
To know what it’s like to hold someone so dear…this must be what that is.
Languid, your lips move against each other’s, reluctant to stop. Under the light of the maroon sky, you’re cloaked in the warmth of his body against yours.
When he finally parts, you’re laying against the deck with him hovering above you.
“I don’t want to regret this—the mere thought of being apart…”
He brushes a stray hair from your face, fingertips tracing over the curve of your cheek.
“Even if it means I will be risking my life, I will follow where you go. Destiny has made its mark, so who am I to break it?”
How can you refuse, seeing the sincerity of his vow, trusting the very man you met and befriended and come to love in a few weeks’ time? To know his gentle nature, the way that he seems always so aware of the world around him, the carefree way he approaches all he does—you’d known, somewhere deep within, that the moment he asks to accompany you, you’d selfishly say yes.
But it’s all too much to express in word, so you pull him down to meet you, desperate and yearning.
It’s easy, natural, the way that you melt into each other, fumbling as he helps you stand up—to make your way to his quarters between kisses.
The others still are above deck celebrating, unaware of the blossoming bloom between you, the private quarters void of anyone else. The door to his room swings open as soon as he turns the knob and you take him by his lapels and pull him inside.
The door closes with a soft click.
Setting you down upon his berth, he meets you for another kiss before beginning the tedious task of undressing. Even in a hurry, he carefully folds each article, ensuring their safety. When he turns, you’re left bare as well, looking at him through halfmoon eyes.
In his lungs, his breath is caught.
You’re beautiful.
So he says it in word and in the way that he guides you to lay with his body between your spread legs.
You utter his name, cupping his cheek. He leans into your touch while you guide him back down to you. It takes little for him to follow your movements, drawn in like the sweet song of a siren.
He claims you in the kisses peppered over your lips and jaw, dragging down to dip in the hollow of your neck. Beneath him, your pulse jumps and your neck flexes. So he continues, reverent. Pledging loyalty with every brush of his lips against your skin.
Yours, all yours.
Busied with the sensation of him, you relax, offering yourself to his touch. His unbandaged hand travels over the soft planes of your body, cupping breasts and hip, careful as it travels to press fingertips into your thigh. It lingers, so close.
The feel of your hand timid on his chest encourages him to explore the sensitive skin of your inner thigh before finally, finally tracing along your wetted cunt.
“Please—”
His fingers tease, sliding up and down along it, making you shiver beneath him. A sight to behold, one that makes his heart sing and stutter at once. And they draw out a shaky moan when they press into you.
He takes his time in the movement of his fingers, coaxing you with a curve and the dulcet tone of his voice in your ear.
Left with his name on your tongue, your arms wrap around his neck, wanting him closer, closer. He obliges. All you want in this moment is him—impatience running quick.
Kazuha is taken by surprise when you take him into your hand, marveling at the way his hips press closer to your touch.
It’s strange to be touched this way, even with his past experiences. How it feels to be caressed by you so intimately, just the idea of it being you beneath him, touching him, him touching you. He wants more of it. And so he bucks into your hand with hot desire coursing through his veins.
For a while, the two of you delight in each other’s bodies.
When he draws his fingers from your core, he doesn’t bother with the way your slick clings to his skin, replacing your hand around his cock with his own and propping himself up with legs kneeled and hips slotted between yours.
With bated breath you observe as he gazes into your eyes.
Even so smoldered with desire, they’re impossibly clear and gentle, reflecting the very swirl of emotions you feel with every thump of your pulse. Leaning closer, Kazuha brushes his lips to yours, slow.
“You’re trembling—are you cold?”
The room feels fine despite your state of undress, though he continues before you can speak.
“Allow me to warm you up...”
When he finally kisses you deep, his hips press into yours and fill you.
The ship sways, each rock back and fourth amplified with how he holds you close to him, how he whispers sweetly in your ear and describes just how good it feels for you to squeeze around him like that. Once more you’re swept into all he gives you.
Kazuha thrusts, every movement deliciously slow. The brush of his cock against your walls makes your eyes flutter and your lips part with every gasp.
Every sigh draws him in deeper. Slow, fluid.
With the ebb and flow of his movements, you find yourself lost. He is the raging tempest dragging you down to the murky depths yet is the same gentle wind that cools you. You’re lost in the way that he moans your name in your ear and hips barely pull away from yours before burying back deep.
You—spread beneath him with your legs bent to his sides—in the dim light drives him. Kazuha finds that no matter where he looks, how close his body is pressed to yours, it’s never quite enough. Every sigh that’s drawn from your lungs is the voice that calls to him to wander.
He’s mesmerized.
Each push stirs that need in you for more, coming to life in the way that your body arches to meet his. Almost…as if feeling him against you is your lifeline—a deep, unyielding need. The same strange feeling that he knows is coming to life within him. And with how you so sweetly grasp at his shoulders in your hands, he’s certain it is.
His arm slides down, hand flat against your lower back to lift your hips. Eager, you comply. A few strokes of his hips with the delicious drag provided by the new angle, and you cry out in whimpers.
“Right there—please, please-“
Murmuring your name, his lips press to your ear and his hips speed up as he searches for that spot once more. He’s good—feels so so good.
A kiss to your temple accompanies the quick build of the knot deep in your abdomen, pulling taut and teasing your release.
“Where should I touch you?” The croon of his voice calls.
You guide his hand between your writhing bodies, a shock of pleasure jolting when the pad of his finger brushes against where you’re most sensitive. Only moments pass before your vision flickers, body tensing and a choked moan escaping past your ruddied lips.
It’s too much—his careful movements to hit the right spot and the way his fingers trace over your skin and he finds himself lost in the feeling as well. The lingering feeling of your high sends shocks with every movement he gives, both of you left trembling. Shaky hands try to grab at his chest and arm, pulling it away.
He stills, just holding you close.
He can feel it again, the flutter of your pulse, when his lips pepper kisses along your jaw and neck to bring you back to him.
Finally back from your high, Kazuha carefully slides from within you in lieu of laying by your side. You’re still breathing hard when careful movements pull the blanket from the foot of the bed over both of your forms. With an arm draped over your now covered hip, he smiles soft.
The wind howls outside.
"Do you really mean it, Kazuha?”
He lifts his arm so you can turn onto your side, looking up at him with your head on the pillow. It’s cute the way the soft material forms around your cheek. But you’re still waiting for his answer.
The ronin simply places a kiss on your forehead, the warm brush of his lips punctuating his words.
“I will follow you til the day the sun ceases to shine—so long as you are by my side, the wind shall blow and the tides ebb. This shall be my vow to you...”
It isn’t until your expression relaxes, lulled to sleep by his warmth and the gentle rock of the ocean, eyes closed and your breathing even that he speaks once more. It’s quiet, save for the creaking of wood and the faraway shouts of the crew above in their revelry. Here, laying besides you, the feeling within his chest carefully tended to, Kazuha finds a new purpose. A newfound desire.
“…whom I love with a love / deep as the miru-growing ocean.”

fluff/relationships w the liyue crew
characters included: xiao, childe, beidou, and zhongli
ik i forgot ningguang i promise i’ll include her in part 2, i just didn’t have time :(
all x a gn! reader
my liyue babies :,) ft. ningguang in spirit
an: i was listening to my soft playlist (more like listening to cupid’s chokehold on repeat, no i am not basic 🔪) and i thought some fluff headcanons would be cute w these sweet people
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
xiao
ok so no surprise that he hates liyue harbor
he hates anything w a lot of people in it so he prefers to stay at wangshu inn tyvm
but by contrast, you love liyue harbor sm (it’s gorgeous i mean c’mON)
you go there often to retrieve your commissions in order to stay closer to xiao (liyue harbor is closer than mondstadt he argues but you’re well aware that they’re both equally far away)
so if anyone asked, xiao would absolutely refuse to go to the harbor like i hate people??? why would you even ask???
but,,,he’s so sOFT for you
if you asked??? he would agree in a heartbeat
but since he’s >:( angsty boy, he makes you think that he won’t go even when he’s already decided that he’s coming w you
he puts up the “if you so require, then i guess i will assist you with your travels in liyue harbor” but in reality he would definitely have said yes even without the almond tofu
while he hates the harbor, he thinks that with you anything is bearable :,) simp
you take him to see xinyan to vibe w her music and you can tell he really enjoys it
even tho he’s like 🕴 the entire time, you see the softer look on his face and the very slight smile on his lips as he listens to the music and watches the crowd
so so so cute very soft for him
i do see him as a subtly touchy person in public like brushing the hair off your face, swiping his thumb across your cheek, or gently pulling your hair back when you have a plate of food in your hands
the type to link your pinkies together - he claims it’s so you don’t get lost but yk better
after the concert is done you take him to that one waypoint near mt. tianheng and the both of you just watch the city lights and the way they reflect beautifully on the water surrounding the harbor
personal headcanon that xiao absolutely loves stargazing since he believes the stars are the one true constant in his life especially since he’s experienced so much loss (basically they’ll never leave him god i hate myself why do i make everything SAD)
mini headcanon off of that - he doesn’t stargaze with people,,, like ever
it’s something he loves to do alone so the fact that he lets you stargaze w him and even allows you to shift your head onto his lap while you watch the sky is a huge deal
he loves it when you softly whisper abt how your day was or something you saw that made you laugh
he just loves hearing your voice, it automatically calms the voices in his head
you absolutely ADORE when he has flowers in his hair especially cecilias (cecillias? ceccillias? idfk) and you make a point whenever you go to mondstadt to pick a fresh batch of cecilias just for xiao while enlisting the help of your favorite bard
these soft moments on the mountain are usually when you’ll sweetly tuck in a flower or two in his hair while laughing
he’ll blush fiercely while looking away but will tuck the cecilias in securely as you’re unable to do so due to the position you’re in on his lap
all in all - this was not meant to come out as a date idea but we’re going w it
this is so cute xiao pls let me put flowers in your hair sweet boy <3
childe
god, loml, my favorite war criminal after eren yeager
there’s never a dull moment w this man - if you wanted peace and quiet, why the hell are you dating him bestie???
is the type of person to yell out “Y/N, i can’t believe i ran into you here!” if he sees you somewhere even tho you explicitly told him you were going to be here in the morning (ik you have a good memory ajax don’t lie to me 😐)
i don’t see him as being obnoxious w pda unlike someone else kaeya but he would definitely participate (think: handholding, cheek kisses, an arm around your shoulders)
loves it when he comes home and sees you in an apron cooking
domesticity just makes his heart melt so you can be sure that your face will be peppered w a lot of kisses afterwards <3
absolutely ADORES it when you trace his scars absentmindedly when you’re lying down or even when you’re having dinner in public
he’s been far from his family for so long that small acts of mindless affection like this really make his heart happy
you have him drunk on your love luv haha see what i did there
he will let you put makeup on him. no i do not take criticism ⛄️
he already has on lowkey thick eyeliner,,, don’t be shy put some more bestie
he will shamelessly go out in public w whatever you made him wear - doesn’t really give a shit even tho he has a reputation to maintain
speaking of reputation,,, yk his mask? yeah that one - the red hair accessory that he has on his head
well on the mask, he attached a little charm the both of you got together on your first date during lantern rite
it’s this adorable fox that we all shamelessly kill for meat and he placed it so it anchored to the side of his mask so when he fights it isn’t a nuisance or anything (does that make sense??? i hope it does)
his subordinates notice and while they’re stoic around childe, behind closed doors they do whisper abt the mysterious person who’s captured his heart
not so mysterious anymore when they literally see him cling onto you during his daily patrol around the harbor 💀
it’s ok tho he’s lucky he’s cute
bestie,,, pls give him a neck massage
i just KNOW he’s tense there idk something abt the way he carries himself just screams “my neck hurts so bad someone pls help me i would ask but my pride literally will not let me”
so give him a neck massage :) don’t worry tho he’ll definitely return the favor and then some
LOVES TICKLE FIGHTS
he’s obsessed w them,,, it’s just the faces you make??? he can’t get enough
he loves seeing the pure joy and the brief fear (he’s kind of a sadist) in your eyes before he attacks you w those damned hands
it reminds him a lot of simpler times w his siblings and he’s happy he brings you joy and makes you forget your worries - at least for a little while
all in all, he’s a good boy and no i will not tolerate childe slander 🔪 kaeya slander tho 😏
beidou
you pulled beidou??? wow everyone’s jealous (pulled as in literally from the banner and in this context but no i do not have beidou and no i definitely do not want to talk abt it)
god made beidou and zhongli just so all of us could have a sexuality crisis
anyways, being w her is hard i will not lie
not bc she isn’t a capable lover - no, quite the contrary
she’s an amazing partner but the problem here lies in the fact that she’s almost never on land
it’s hard working a long distance relationship but y’all love each other so it works out :,)
when she is physically present however, expect to never be bored
she’ll quietly fix the wrinkles on your shirt or fiddle with your fingers in her hands while she recounts her adventures out on sea
she sometimes gets worried she bores you, however the way your eyes light up every time she tells a tale always reassures her otherwise
definitely the type to let you use her claymore if you want to learn
she’ll provide useful tips as she tucks her hands into your sides gently, positioning you correctly so you don’t hurt yourself
miss girl is an AMAZING cook
i just know she cooks the best meals - i mean she’s friends w xiangling after all
whenever she comes home from a voyage she’ll always insist on making something for you even if she’s abt to pass out
pls tuck her into bed and promise her that she can make you something in the morning <3 the poor woman needs rest
brings you back trinkets but they’re actually very practical
she knows you won’t have much use for a simple charm (not that there’s anything wrong w that) but she believes you’ll like something practical more so she might get you a new engraved knife from the most recent place she’s been to
definitely the type to surprise you when she docks
i can imagine her anchoring her ship out a little ways from liyue harbor and rowing to the dock in order to make sure you aren’t alerted of her presence (i’m sorry the mental picture this made in my mind is SENDING ME INTO ORBIT but she means well i love you)
will take you to remote spots she’s found in her travels through liyue
for example - the little heart shaped island and the island quest (?) that you had to use kaeya the bridge maker for in order to get to im sorry i’ll stop w the kaeya slander
she’ll get you seashell bracelets or necklaces idk why but she gives me those vIBES
they’re super nice ones too, only the highest quality for you
yes she’s a bruh girl but i also see her as someone who would enjoy intimate moments like watching the sunset or something
“yo wanna catch the sunset, i heard it looks sick from the jade chamber” said before ahem it yk fell from the sky
kasdjksfashfjsahf yes ofc i would love to catch the sunset w you pls come home luv
anyways, she is a woman i would give the world for
zhongli
ok gimme a sec i need to get my gentleman mode on
this man,,, THIS MAN
everything w him is so soft like your entire eXISTENCE w him could go in a museum it’s that beautiful
in the morning when he visits you, he always brings you a cup of your favorite tea and a bouquet of glaze lilies he got from madame ping
holds the door for you, pushes the chair out for you, uses a napkin and brushes sauce off your lips when you’re eating - you name something sweet, he’s done it
secretly loves it when you fuss over him
he doesn’t like to fight but say he encountered a group of hillichurls he couldn’t avoid and promptly defeated them but ended up tearing a part of his tux(?) (is it a tux? i could not tell you)
not that big of a deal, i mean it’s a scratch, he’s a 6,000 year old god, he’s dealt w much worse
but seeing the worried crease in your brows as you usher him to sit at the table while quickly grabbing antiseptic to clean his wound
“it’s just a scratch, my dear. do not worry i’ve dealt with much worse.”
you quietly protest abt how “yes zhongli, i understand you’re an archon and have gotten worse injuries but i’m worried about infection just please let me take care of you ok? <3″
when you say that he feels weird emotions,,, wdym take care of him?
he’s always taken care of himself or been expected to take care of others as the former ruling deity of liyue so having someone else genuinely worry abt his wellbeing creates a warm feeling in his chest
he strikes me as the type to knit you something??? idk maybe it’s the grandpa vibes but i headcanon that he would knit you a scarf for the colder weather, it’s cute
in the privacy of your home, he really likes picking you up
he loves it when you wrap your legs around his middle while he gets up to go do the dishes or smthg
domesticity go brrrr
if you’re into making flower crowns, he would totally have you on his lap and wordlessly hand you a glaze lily whenever you expectantly hold your hand out while weaving the flowers together
he expects you to make the crown for yourself but when you place the crown on his head and it fits perfectly while simultaneously tucking a glaze lily behind your ear, he looks at you dumbstruck
his mouth parts open in awe and it’s quite literally the cutest thing
you’ve broken him
thinks it’s the sweetest thing - will keep it on his head for the whole day
he’ll even put it in water before he sleeps so it won’t wilt and he can wear it the next day <3
scenic picnics!! scenic picnics!!
the type to take you to the nicest spots in liyue to chat abt the history of the land w you over a cup of tea and your favorite food (whatever you like, he doesn’t mind)
recounts the people he’s met in his long life before finishing off by saying you’re by far the best person he’s met
zhongli strangles lovingly come home soon
thanks for reading! if you have any requests don’t hesitate to send them in <3

Xiaobedo Fanfic Recommendation
Welcome to my personal “if you are new to xiaobedo peeps please read these” list. As said before this is my personal list so please feel free to reblog/comment/hit me for not including any gem here. I might miss a lot of them because I am drunk or blind. (mostly have them on my to read and then forgot as I am being assault by real life shit).
I would like to say first that so far there are 150+ Xiaobedo fics on Ao3. I can’t review all of them but I can say that I have read a majority of them. Most of them are just pure love and I would like nothing more than a thousands thank you for all the fic writers who spent their free time writting these gems for us to read for free. But these...these takes the cake as it finds a special landing spot in my heart that I would just thrust them into someone’s hand if they say “I am new to this ship can you recommend me?”
1. Orange dust by bobamilkteas (Wes)
In which Xiao learns to open himself up to the world a little more after the collapse of Rex lapis's contracts but it was not always easy for a soul doomed to eternal damnation. Meanwhile, Albedo liked to tempt fate where the extraordinary are concerned.
If only the traveler's comrades are made of saner bunch.
Comment: Long ago when I like both Albedo and Xiao as a character, I was wondering hmmm....will anyone actually even write about them lmao they never met each other. I am surprise to see this one as the 3rd fic in the whole 3 Xiaobedo fic on Ao3 (yeah back when there’s literally only 3 fic for this couple). I was like I’ll read it for the curiosity, I’ll probably won’t ship them. And that people is how I put my clown make up on my face upon finishing reading it. This ONE fic alone convert me into a devotee of Xiaobedo. Please consider joining me in this circus if you want to know what is Xiaobedo. I would put this as the first of my “Big 3″
Orange Dust also come with its compliation of short stories over the course of the game and a big sequel to it. Please also consider reading ALL OF THEM.
2. Solar Wind by birdpriestess (Sparrow)
For the yaksha, his duty was his life, and his life was his duty. No human could ever hope to understand the eternal war he fought out of sight and in silence.
So why, then, did he feel that Albedo would understand?
---
Finding himself at death's door once more, Xiao is saved by a surprising person, setting off the unlikeliest of adventures.
Comment: Do you like crying? Do you like the feeling of getting your heart ripped into pieces as the author destroy your emotions over the end of each chapter as the story picked up the climax? Yeah, this one is for you masochists. The action, the characterisation, the drama THE EMOTIONS OH WOW. I kid you not that it was so good I read this while workinng when I am not suppose to me. Also, this fic has my favourite characterisation of Gold ever. I love that dramatic queen Mad Alchemist. AND DAIN. I LOVE DAIN IN THIS FIC. Our dearest Sparrow manage to toy with our feelings like how I bully ruin guard for big numbers lmao. This is the secound of “Big 3″ of my Xiaobedo list.
Again, just like Orange Dust, Solar Wind comes with its own compliation of short stories of what came after that. Please also consider reading ALL OF THEM.
3. Castle of Glass by AlchemicalStardust (Morgie)
A black shadow rises over Huaguang Stone Forest. Caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, Albedo flees the shaking ground and the crash of boulders tumbling form the sky. As the dust settles, Albedo finds a young man – an Adeptus – amidst the carnage. Despite the karmic agony ripping his body from the inside, Xiao’s only question is “How?” How did a human survive after witnessing his battle?
Comment: The last of the “Big 3″ of my Xiaobedo list. And it is still on going! Castle of Glass? More like I AM IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTIONS! Have you read a fic about 2 people yearning, longing, reaching out for each other so damn well that you just want to throw your phone in the air as they both had their impending doom coming down upon them? Yeah this is one of them. You will like want to be stuck in the moment they express how much they just yearn for each other’s love and care that you want to shake the author for what comes next. Like...everytime Morgie update I am expressing my gratitude at the end of the chapter by writing on Xiaobedo discord “MORGIE COME HERE AND LET ME BONK YOU WHY ARE YOU ENDING IT THERE”
trust me when you read you will def feel the same. With just Big 3 and their compliation alone that would give you like a LONG list of reading already LMAOOOOOOO
4. Find a place to call it home  by yamajiroo
Our room, he said. Xiao’s brow twitches. Zhongli never said anything about this. But then again, perhaps he should anticipate this from the beginning...
Xiao looks over at Albedo, who is now tilting his head, his look as innocent as ever.
“Are you not okay with sharing a room?”
Comment: College AU for Xiaobedo! One thing that I love this is the slow burn and what made me LOVE LOVE LOVE this fic more is how cute Klee is in this fic. Their relationship in this one is very simple, but that simplicity highlight why their chemistry work. Xiao is someone who was just very gentle, who was largely misunderstood by his lonesome nature. Albedo was someone who like peace and quite in his introvert bubble. And how they respect that bubble that each other has actually made their relationship work. I love it when fic highlight this and this one captures it.
5. I Can't See Your Face From the Other Side of the Classroom by MissWeaver
When Albedo and Xiao unexpectedly start eating lunch together, they begin to find that they have more in common than anyone would have realized. They both struggle in their own ways with blossoming feelings, too many assignments, and annoying classmates as they navigate a relationship for the first time.
Comment: I’ll be honest, I usually hate high school au just because its so cliche. I don’t even watch and drama/anime surrounds high school student anymore LMAOOO (unless it’s very good). So if there’s an high school AU that I actually keep come back and read after a couple of chapters, it means that the cliche that I hate wasn’t there or barely was there at all. The pinning in this fic makes me want to bang their head together sometimes LMAOOO The tag wasn’t kidding when they said both Xiao and Albedo are bad at feelings. Also that’s a lot of heart broken caused by these two idiots XD
6. new world, same me, same bullshit  by  bobamilkteas (Wes)
At the belly of Dragonspine, Albedo lost control to the festering corruption that permeated his senses and watched, from the recesses of his mind, as his devoured body turned his allies into enemies. Before his rampage reached its climax, he is sealed in a crystalized confinement by the last hand of Reindottir, where he then reawakens centuries after, in a rebooted Teyvat.
Comment: Yeah I know it was list in Orange Dust but here me out. This sets out in an entirely different universe. And if you like Polyamory, this one has Zhongli joining the duo and I love it because I also love ZhongXiao with my life. Time Travel is my biggest kink. Especially when I am the person who love it when people explore Archon War era/ Alatus!Xiao. So this one hits double of my kink. Of course it is still on going and I will bully Wes whenever I can to see that new chapter. Albedo is a total fucking badass in this story and I completely agree from using him in Abyss so often. Everyone should write badass Albedo.
7. misplaced heart of mine by  inkburn
“If you are ill, then you should be resting at home. In Mondstadt.” He emphasized Mondstadt with a pointed look in his direction.
“I assure you I won’t be troublesome, Adeptus Xiao,” Albedo said, “You’ll find I’m a rather low-maintenance traveler.”
“Travel,” Xiao scoffed, “without airstep?”
Albedo looked him up and down. “Are your legs just for decoration?”
(albedo is sent to liyue on mandatory vacation. xiao is his unfortunate bodyguard.)
Comment: Most of the time you will see Albedo and Xiao starting their relationship with one of them taking interest in another. But this one took another approach, they starting off by make them hating each other’s guts LMAOOOO and I live for every second of it. There’s only 1 chapter so far but wow it was SOOO GOOD. I am really really excited for next chapter and is waiting patiently ;w;
8.  Blossom of Grace  by birdpriestess
One day in Liyue Harbor, Albedo watches a street performance by an enigmatic dancer named Xiao. And he becomes completely obsessed.
Comment: Have you ever look at Xiao fight and thinking that he’s one of the most beautiful deadly thing ever? How it was like he was dancing around the battlefield? How about actual dancer Xiao being so absolutely beautiful and perfect and that slow burn of Albedo falling in love with that beauty with a touch of Modern AU and cute Ganyu as the Wing woman. Yes, Sparrow delivers yet again another beautiful slow burn and while it’s still ongoing it is worth the read.
9. i think we could make this work (could get used to this) by outspaced
“Xiao? What are you doing out here?”
“I—”
“It’s raining,” Albedo says, as if it isn’t obvious. “You could get struck by lightning.”
“What are you doing out here then?” Xiao does the only thing he knows how to do, he challenges Albedo. “It’s raining.”
Albedo just hums. “If I get struck by lightning, it’s for science.”
Comment: A short one-shot where I read the summary and went “This is it... this is their relationship.” I am sold immediately. Oh god Albedo why are you like this.
10. Ephemeral by criedprinz
“It’s not for your investigation, is it?” Aether asked mildly.
Albedo traced a finger around the sketchbook, considering the question. “No,” he admitted finally. “I... I just want to see them again.”
He opened the sketchbook to reveal the drawing he’d just finished. Aether nodded, clearly recognizing the sharp golden eyes.
“Xiao,” he said. “You were rescued by an adeptus.”
When a visit to Dragonspine goes horribly wrong, Albedo is rescued by an unknown stranger, wielding powers he's never heard of. Led on a search to find out who it is, he finds himself in the middle of an unforgettable encounter..
Comment: A really really well written one-shot that I love. The yearning oh godddd the yearning from Albedo side is just so so much that I have to put it here. (I think you can see the trend here lmao. I am a sucker for yearning). And the moment they get to meet each other again is just chef kiss. MWHAA
11. Idle Yaksha, Brilliant Yaksha by Pit0fTheEarth
Alatus didn’t have a lot of responsibilities to keep. He spent most of his days dancing across the sky and eating away all nightmares that plagued a person’s sleep.
But one fortunate encounter led to too many unfortunate ones, taking his carefree existence and plunging it in darkness. His wings, stripped from him. His gentle touch, replaced by an unforgiving grip of destruction.
There was a lot of blood on his hands. With each passing moment, it became harder for Alatus to recall the last time someone gently held him.
Comment: This is one of the ongoing fic where I am very very much excited on the take of Naberius. And the way the author portray Xiao when he’s still the innocent Alatus is just *clench fist*. Baby ;w; Baby why do you have to lose all that innocence. Also the fic has long LONG flashback to Xiao past and his relationship with Naberius. We are unwielding more what happened to both of them and why perhaps does this have to do with Albedo.
That’s it for now, might add more later! Thank you <3

My Genshin Universe Ship Dynamics
I've given so much info about ChiLumi, but I definitely wanna expand on everyone else, because their stories are interesting too! So, without further ado, here are the ship dynamics in as little time as possible. This is a long one, so it'll be below the cut! Thanks!
ChiLumi (Childe x Lumine)
Lumine is a sweet dazzling ray of sunshine who is a bit of a chaotic gremlin at times. Loves her boyfriend dearly and isn't afraid to make it known. Usually flirts with him without hesitation.
Childe is a simp. Usually, he is the one in charge and having everyone listen to him, but he will immediately bend to Lumine's will. Also responsible for most of the following ships out of protecting Lumine from any 'love rivals'
JeaLuc (Jean x Diluc)
Small feelings existed before Diluc's whole father incident happened. Then, the feelings got crushed. They hide their small lingering feelings behind mutual respect
Jean heavily respects Diluc and is eager to work together with him due to how he displayed himself in his younger years. She hopes that one day, that fire may come back to him.
Diluc is so tired of everyone and everrything, but he's tolerant with Jean. He sometimes checks up on her as she can exhaust herself on her duties. Deep down, and I mean REEEAAAL deep down, he still cares. He just doesn't want to admit it. (Tsuntsun? Kuu... tsun? Tsunkuu? I... I don't know)
Heavily advocated and supported by Childe. The ex-Fatui gives constant advice to Jean since she's the one more likely to make a move rather than Diluc.
If they were together, it would be one of the more mature, civil relationships. also klee is their surrogate child while alice is away fight me on this
AlbeCrose (Albedo x Sucrose)
Master and apprentice dynamic (obviously)
Albedo admires Sucrose for her work ethic and also sometimes sketches her when she isn't paying attention. He's not entirely aware of what love is, so his feelings are questionable to him. He would love it if Sucrose called him by his name, though.
Sucrose admires Albedo and looks up to him, to the point where that idolization grew into a crush. She tries to ignore it, though, because Albedo is her teacher, and she is his student.
Childe is not satisfied with Sucrose's conclusion and has since stolen pages from Albedo's sketchbook (with the help of oh-so convenient wind from Venti) that had notes about Albedo's feelings for Sucrose on it.
To his dismay, they are not a thing yet.
...he will keep trying, though.
XiaoYu (Xiao x Ganyu)
Cold, harsh tsundere with a delicate, but well-mannered partner
The ones closest to fruition. Lantern Rite helped move their friendship along and they're now in territory that can be assumed as 'more than friends, but questioning if lovers'
Xiao pushes away Ganyu on instinct because of his karma, but he does care. Ganyu sees this and continues moving closer to prove his karma won't hurt her and she's perfectly fine.
They also both babysit Qiqi and look like a family. Very cute.
HEAVILY advocated by Childe--Xiao is the worst love rival TO DATE
ZhongGuang (Zhongli x Ningguang)
A himbo god and an intelligent reincarnation of a God his intelligent wife that will point out everything (see John Mulaney for example)
Advocated by both Childe AND Lumine
Neither has made a move yet...
Both hold a mutual respect for each other. Both have expressed interest (albeit not in front of each other) of giving the other a chance, but otherwise, no actions have been taken
Zhongli, however, seems to be the one pining a bit more noticeably than Ningguabg. Sometimes, one can catch him staring at her as she looks out upon the city of Liyue Harbor as if mesmerized.
Ningguang may also have had a dream or two about him. She hasn't dove into explicit detail though.
These two old folk need a bit more time than everyone else.
BenBar? BarNett? ...BenAra? (Bennett x Barbara)
Debated between BenneFischl, but Bennett had custom-made balloons on his birthday with Barbara on it, so Childe went through with this instead (plus, he does owe Barbara for her help with him and Lumine, so...)
Plus, he does think her smile is dazzling
Barbara is super concerned about Bennett's wellbeing and constantly patches him up on their journey. Bennett just shrugs it off and says it's no problem
Both are on the younger side, so they're not looking to rush into a relationship. Currently, they are best of friends, with some crushes on each other (Bennett pining over Barbara just a tiny bit more)
Give them time. They're young.
Chongqiu / Xingyun (Chongyun x Xingqiu)
Buddies who are totally not gay
Chongyun is, despite popular belief, not very forward in pursuing Xingqiu. It's actually Xingqiu who does the pursuing.
Xingqiu found a bunch of romance novels, took them as relationship advice, and is torturing Chongyun with it.
Give Chongyun some time to reaffirm that yes, this is love, and yes, Xingqiu bullying him is just because Xingqiu thought the tropes in romances were all totally correct
It's basically Chongyun, the panicked gay, and Xingqiu, the confident gay
Ramber (Razor x... Amber?)
For reasons unknown, Childe has this down in his matchmaking notebook. No other information was actually revealed...
Lumine seems to have penned this as well?
Amber and Razor have apparently been reported to have been hunting together after Razor was sent to adapt to human society. He seems to rely heavily on Amber for that, since she's one of his only human friends around his age
It's basically Amber and her dog, but for some reason, Amber doesn't seem to mind pampering him every once in a while...
Not heavily advocated yet and needs more evidence, according to Childe and Lumine
ScaraMona (Scaramouche x Mona)
Made by Childe as a failsafe in case Scaramouche joins their expedition.
He wants to make sure Scaramouche does not woo Lumine, so he decided that Mona would be best to handle him.
If they got together, their dynamic would definitely be a bickering old married couple that never gets along but still loves each other
BONUS: Dainther (Dainsleif x Aether)
Supported by Childe--he won't push it, but he hopes it works out for Dain
Dain reminisces on the times he spent with Aether and constantly wishes to go back. He treasures Aether with all his heart and hopes that someday, they will be reunited again.
Dainsleif loves Aether and misses him dearly. He pines over his missing traveling companion.
Aether...
...well, Aether's feelings aren't relevant, now are they?
He set those aside long ago, anyway. He has a duty to uphold.

How does Lan Wangji feel about Wei Wuxian's new title, Xinhua-jun?
The first time someone addresses him as something other than Honored Master Wei during an assembly, Wei Wuxian barely registers it.
But in his defense, he’s been up all night for a week straight, hurrying to get his irrigation talismans finished in time for the planting season, and the first batches have just been shipped off with a handful of Lan-trained shidao cultivators accompanying them to supervise.
All Wei Wuxian wanted to do was sleep, after that. It’s a wonder that he stayed awake long enough to  attend the conference at all, which is why he doesn’t realize what the petitioners from Moling called him until he takes a soak in his bathtub that night and asks Lan Zhan to rub his shoulders for a while.
“How was the assembly?” Lan Zhan asks, while Wei Wuxian raises the temperature of the bathwater until the washroom fills up with steam. The ability to take long, hot baths without harming his cultivation is the only good thing that came from losing his golden core, and Wei Wuxian made sure to bathe in heated tubs as often as he could after his resurrection; he used to envy the Jiang shimeis in his childhood, since heat only benefits cultivators with excess  yin energy, but now...
“Wei Ying?”
“Oh!” Wei Wuxian sighs and straightens his back before reaching up to pat his husband’s arm. “It was fine, I suppose. The Su cultivators presented their case, Uncle and I went through it, and then we agreed to all their demands except the one about Moling receiving a sixth of Gusu’s tax revenue.”
“A sixth?”
“They don’t have enough noble families living within their borders,” he says absently, making a small sleepy sound of approval as Lan Zhan pats the tension out of his neck. “The Lai and Xu clans relocated to Qinghe last year, and the Liao family—you remember that clan whose little mistress proposed marriage to Jingyi this spring?— they moved to Laoling the year before that, and they all paid enough taxes to keep the Su clan comfortable.”
Lan Zhan’s hands withdraw from his neck and reappear in his hair a moment later, covered in the sweet-smelling hair soap Wei Wuxian makes from the lotus pond in the back hills. “Did they—treat you well?”
It’s a sensible question, Wei Wuxian supposes, even if the worry in his husband’s voice makes his heart ache with love for him. “Better than most Moling cultivators usually do, Lan Zhan. It was all Xiandu this and Xinhua-jun that, until—”
“They called you Excellency?”
The conversation comes to a swift end at the realization, because Wei Wuxian accidentally swallows a mouthful of foamy water and chokes on it until Lan Zhan helps him cough it up. And then they have to get ready for dinner, and coax the children into finishing it before they fall asleep in their bowls, which is why Wei Wuxian doesn’t think about the conference again until after hai shi.
When the truth of Su She’s association with Jin Guangyao came to light—as Wei Wuxian recalls when Lan Zhan and the little ones are safely asleep—most cultivators from Moling Su seemed to detest Wei Wuxian more than they did while he was dead, if Jiang Cheng’s spies were to be believed. As a matter of principle, none of them even attended Wei Wuxian’s wedding, and offered nothing but flimsy excuses when Lan Xichen traveled to Moling to deliver the invitations in person; and since then, they preferred to keep their distance from him, and would likely have continued to do so if Xichen hadn’t been in Baling for the month to see his new baby grandson.
But today’s petition had been urgent, so Wei Wuxian had to stand in as Lan-zongzhu by proxy while his husband and brother-in-law (not to mention A-Yuan and Jingyi, who accompanied Lan Xichen to Baling) were occupied elsewhere, and none of the Su cultivators were discourteous to him in the slightest.
Oh, no,” he groans, as Lan Zhan tries to hush him with a kiss. “This can’t be good, Lan Zhan. They ordered their city magistrates to send word if I crossed the Moling border, and they turned Xichen-ge down  again  when he invited them to Chun-bao’s hundred-day feast—you don’t think they’re planning something, do you?”
Lan Zhan only gives him a fond look and kisses him again. “Go to sleep, A-Ying,” he says gently. “We’ll talk about it in the morning.”
*    *    *
When Wei Wuxian married into the Cloud Recesses nine years ago, the question of his formal title remained unsettled until after the month before his and Lan Zhan’s first wedding anniversary. If he were a woman, the cultivation world would have known him as Lan-furen, and that would have been the end of it: but Wei Wuxian was a man with no title save that of the Yiling Patriarch, and even Lan Zhan was at a loss when his uncle asked what he should be called following the wedding.
“Third young master Lan?” Wei Wuxian suggested, absently petting Xiao-Yu’s fluffy hair. “Or Wei-gongzi? It doesn’t really matter, Shufu.”
“Third young master Lan is unsuitable,” Lan Qiren pointed out, plopping another baby rabbit into Xiao-Yu’s lap. “Xichen is the sect leader, and Wangji is the Chief Cultivator. Neither of them can rightly be called gongzi any longer, so the titles of first and second young master must pass to Sizhui and Jingyi.”
They settled on Lan-san-gongzi in the end, mostly because everyone already knew that Sizhui and Jingyi were the first and second heirs to the Lan sect, but then Lan Xichen (who remains the best brother-in-law Wei Wuxian could ever have hoped for) came to bring Wei Wuxian his lunch one afternoon while he was working in the produce field, and laughed himself silly at the sight of his difu  talking to a particularly stubborn lotus bloom in an effort to get it to grow.
“What a happy flower, to be so doted upon!” he chuckled, passing Wei Wuxian a wet cloth so he could clean his hands and sit down to eat. “Xinhua-jun, xiao-hua, be good for A-Xian and grow, won’t you?”
And then a strange excited grin spread across his face, right before he dropped the lunch boxes into Wei Wuxian’s arms and ran back towards the main compound as fast as his legs could carry him.
Wei Wuxian’s students have called him nothing but  Xinhua-jun  ever since, even though it was more of a pet name than a  title. But it never caught on outside the Cloud Recesses, since most of Nie Huaisang’s court is much older than he is, and Yunmeng still knows him as Wei-zongzhu from the year he spent leading Yunmeng Jiang before he and Lan Zhan were married; and the less said about Lanling Jin the better, even if Jin Ling and Mianmian have been ferreting out the last two sect leaders’ supporters ever since A-Ling succeeded Jin Guangyao.
The thought of his title becoming common knowledge in  Moling of all places gives Wei Wuxian a chill down the spine, and he says as much the next evening while going over the reports of young women’s education rates from Gusu’s subsidiary sects.
“Who could possibly have told them? It’s very suspicious,” he grumbles, answering a plaintive letter from a particularly pompous scholar who insisted it was far too much work for his colleagues to teach the boys in the morning and stay three hours longer to teach the girls in the afternoon. Teach them both in the same class, Wei Wuxian writes back, snorting at the man’s foolishness as his daughters climb into his lap to peer curiously at the scroll. If any of the young ladies’ parents prefer their daughters be taught separately from the boys, the Cloud Recesses will send a delegation of lady tutors to Xibei and have a second school built.
“Suspicious?” Shuilan pipes up, before pointing to one of the characters on the scroll. “That’s part of my name! It says shui!”
“Very good!” Wei Wuxian smiles, kissing the top of A-Lan’s head. “Chun-bao, can you find any?”
Chunyang nods shyly against his neck. “A-Chun see cloud,” the baby says, happily smudging the  yun  in  yunshen buzhichu with her little hands before snuggling down into Wei Wuxian’s silky robes. “A-Die, eat? A-Chun is hungry.”
Wei Wuxian glances up at the sky and cries out in dismay as he notices that night has nearly fallen. “Come, come—but A-Lan, sweetheart, put your socks on first! It’s cold in the kitchen, and I don’t want to leave you here all alone.”
“I’m a big girl,” A-Lan complains, as Wei Wuxian laughs again and slides a pair of soft slippers onto her dimpled feet instead. “Can’t I stay with gege?”
“Gege’s taking a bath,” Xiao-Yu shouts—from the bathroom, naturally, since he spends his afternoons getting delightfully muddy in the produce field and moseys back home by sunset with grubs and leaves and rich black earth clinging to his clothes. “Be a good Lan-bao and go with A-Niang.”
At twelve years old, Xiaohui has finally settled on a course of cultivation study, surprising everyone but his parents by deciding he wanted to learn natural cultivation instead of following the martial dao, and he and Wei Wuxian have been working on agricultural talismans together for the past two years; Xiao-Yu even had a hand in the talismans Wei Wuxian just sent out for the border territories, since Wei Wuxian relies on his son’s spiritual energy to activate them. He is so very proud of Xiao-Yu, grubs and mud and all, and Wei Wuxian throws back his head and laughs when his tall son rolls into the kitchen half an hour later with his hair pinned up in a damp knot at the back of his neck.
“Is supper ready, A-Niang?” Xiao-Yu asks, while A-Lan sits at the table with one of her brother’s many, many cats purring in her lap. “Should I lay out the bowls?”
“Yes, please, A-Yu,” Wei Wuxian yawns, swaying back and forth with Chunyang on his hip as he stirs chili paste into his pot of soup. “And fetch a shawl for A-Lan, her clothes aren’t warm enough.”
“A-Niang stir more,” Chunyang tells him, pointing down at the pot. “Not done.”
Wei Wuxian does as she says, breaking up the last chunks of paste just as A-Yu comes rushing back in with a warm shawl to drape around A-Lan’s shoulders. After that, he puts a broad wooden lid over the pot and leaves it to boil, moving from cauldron to cauldron with one hand keeping Chun-bao in place and the other wielding his ladle: a weapon almost as effective as his sword, if A-Yuan’s condemnation of his cooking at the Burial Mounds is to be believed, though Wei Wuxian learned how to cook without covering everything with chili oil during his brief stint as Sect Leader Jiang ten years ago.
“I love A-Die’s food,” Shuilan declares, squeezing Heimao (named, quite literally, for his smooth black fur) in sheer delight when Wei Wuxian plops a bit of hot tofu into her mouth. “If Papa doesn’t come home in five minutes, can I eat everything?”
“A-Lan can eat as much as she wants,” Wei Wuxian promises, because A-Lan is only five years old and eats less than half of what Lan Zhan does. “Come help Yu-gege serve the rice, and then we can eat.”
Lan Zhan comes home late that night, after Lan Yu and Wei Shuilan have finished their dinners and gone to bed. He went to Lanling to help Jin Ling oversee a trial just after mao hour, and his early return is a pleasant surprise; Wei Wuxian nearly weeps with joy when his husband opens the door to the  jingshi and sweeps him and A-Chun up into his arms, carrying them to the long divan in the receiving room to kiss them to his heart’s content, and fussing over A-Chun until she toddles away and comes back again with the little bowl of hot soup that Wei Wuxian left on the table with a warming talisman.
“Papa eat,” she says adoringly, curling into a chubby pink ball against Wei Wuxian’s stomach and watching with big eyes as Lan Zhan raises the bowl to his lips. “A-Niang cooked!”
“Your A-Die always cooks dinner,” Wei Wuxian says, kissing the tip of her sweet pink nose. “Remember, Chun-bao?”
“Papa breakfast, and A-Niang dinner,” the little girl agrees, before drifting right off to sleep between her parents with one tiny fist curled around the end of Lan Zhan’s forehead ribbon.
Jiang Yanli used to fall asleep like that, Wei Wuxian remembers, safe in Jiang-shushu’s purple-draped bed with him and a toddling Jiang Cheng curled up next to her on either side, and she always stayed asleep no matter how often they squirmed and kicked and whispered over her head.
“Sweetheart?”
“I missed you,” Wei Wuxian sighs, without mentioning where his thoughts had gone—the pain of his shijie’s passing will never heal as long as he lives, but it has been easier to bear with Lan Zhan beside him, if only a little. “Will you have to go again next week, Lan Zhan?”
His husband shakes his head and gives him a lingering soup-tasting kiss on the soft dent over his mouth. “It is finished, my heart. Forgive me for coming home so late?”
Their faces draw together again, yearning towards one another like two mated butterflies forcefully parted as Lan Zhan shifts A-Chun to the crook of his arm and lays Wei Wuxian down on the divan to kiss his cheeks, and his forehead, and then caresses his hands with heart-breaking tenderness, as if he were holding a treasure beyond price. In turn, Wei Wuxian reaches up to touch his husband’s face, tracing the smooth lines of his brow and chin until Lan Zhan catches his fingertips with his lips and pulls him upright to keep Chunyang from getting squashed.
“Let’s put this little lotus to bed,” Wei Wuxian whispers, though it turns into another yawn before he gets to the end of the sentence. “Come with me, xingan?”
His husband—his beloved, precious, perfect husband—goes with him without a word, coaxing their daughter into her sleeping gown and laying her in the middle of the bed without waking her. “I heard some news in Lanling before I left,” he says, while Wei Wuxian helps him take off his Chief Cultivator’s headpiece and put away his waist-pendants. “I investigated the issue with Moling Su, since I feared that they might have a greater grudge against you than we thought, and Jin Ling informed me that the minor sects have begun to address you as xiandu of their own accord.”
Wei Wuxian feels his jaw drop. “What?”
“You have been taking over the portion of my work that cannot be solved by night-hunting,” Lan Zhan points out, as they slip under the covers and tuck A-Chun in between them to keep her warm. “The schools, the trade conferences, the farming failures in the south and the northwest. These matters are resolved by letters written in your hand, not mine, and petitions written to the Chief Cultivator are taken to court by the Chief Cultivator’s husband.”
He pauses to brush their noses together, and then:
“It has been so since you married me,” he says, with a smile that melts Wei Wuxian’s limbs into jelly. “Did you never notice, Wei Ying? It is well known that Hanguang-jun follows the jiandao, and goes wherever the chaos is, and that Xinhua-jun sees to the everyday matters that must be put right for a sect to thrive. Even the clans who would have dared speak against you know it now, and give credit and praises where they are due.”
“I can’t just  become the Chief Cultivator by sharing your work,” Wei Wuxian snorts, rolling his eyes fondly as Lan Zhan leans over to blow out the candle on the nightstand. “I’m your husband. What else would I do?”
“I have not yet heard your sister-in-law being called Jiang-zongzhu,” Lan Zhan returns, with a bright spark of mirth in his sweet voice. “Though I suspect your brother would not mind, if she was.”
“Yes, I suppose—but Lan Zhan, surely the minor sects can’t just  decide to call me Chief Cultivator? You were chosen for the position by vote.”
“They chose me for Chief Cultivator ten years ago, did they not? And now, since there is no law that two people cannot share the title, they have chosen you. Nie Huaisang will support it, since he lives in fear of me stepping down and making  him succeed me as Excellency, and so will Jin Ling. And Jiang Cheng.”
“...I’m never getting out of this, am I?”
“Do you wish to stop?” Lan Zhan inquires, with some concern. “You have done more good than I could ever have dreamed of, but if you do not want—”
“Let’s talk about it in the morning,” Wei Wuxian begs, thoroughly overwhelmed at the thought of it. “Come hold me, er-gege.”
And Lan Zhan does, hugging him so tightly that all he knows is the sharp scent of sandalwood on his husband’s clothes and the soft-smelling lotus of Chun-bao’s hair until he falls asleep.

Nanhai Cheng, Baling Ouyang to the Cloud Recesses, Gusu Lan
  Senior Wei,
When did you become the Chief Cultivator? Jingyi and A-Yuan want to know, but they can’t write at the moment because A-Qing put them on diaper duty. Is it true? Or was A-Ling just making fun of us?
      Best wishes,
            Ouyang Zizhen.
P.S.—make sure to bring Lan-xiansheng for A-Chen’s full month party! You haven’t forgotten about it, have you?

  Nie-xiong,
If I ever find out that this Excellency business was your fault, I’ll steal all your grandchildren and hide them in the jingshi. What in Heaven’s name were you thinking?
    Suspiciously yours,
            Wei Wuxian.

  Brother Wei,
My, such accusations! I really can’t say. But have fun with all the paperwork, Wei-xiong—it’s the best part of the job!

For the character ask, Kazu (or Thoma just in case someone already asked for Kazu) ❤️
hello epi!!!!! 💜 i actually have not had anyone ask for kazoo yet!!
How I feel about this character:
from a gameplay perspective, he is honestly kinda op lmao i'm so glad i decided to pull for him. he's my main travel character like when i'm walking around, mostly cause his E is so good for...literally every kind of travel? like i used to have kaeya or childe even out most of the time but kazoo is just perfect for the first attack like gathering all the enemies together n stuff??? he's super great paired with bennett since his primary elemental absorption is pyro, but since benny doesn't have huge pyro application most of the time, i can steal kazoo's burst or E to get some solid pyro application. once i got that down from a mechanics perspective, it's like. supremely badass. kazoo also pairs well with childe since i can drag all the enemies together and then bap them with childe's Q?
from a design perspective, he is babie. i adore his hair and the maple leaf theme, he's very flowy and fits well with the anemo vibe even if he isn't blue/green (understandably lmao). i actually like the red tho it's a nice color scheme for him
from a character perspective, i adore him. i wish we'd gotten a proper story quest for him instead of just the pre-inazuma thing? he's such a fun balance between peaceful and lowkey a little unhinged lmao like YES give me haikus and then threaten to burn someone's face off or whatever u did ily bb. i also find his backstory super interesting with lots of places to expand on it either in canon or just in fanon lmao
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
TOMO 🥺🥺 that's definitely my primary (only?) kazoo ship
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
i realize now that this says 'otp' but i will continue to ignore it in favor of listing off all the chars i want to see them be friends with lmao. i think i said on the kaeya one that he and kaeya would be a fun friendship lmao. i also do adore kazoo beidou friendship!! i also think canon gorou's lil 'KAZUHA!' when he saw kazoo again was cute i'm here for their friendship for sure. i think he could get along well with xiao since they both sort of do the silent anemo wanderer thing lmao. good travel companions i think, if kazoo ever stayed in liyue. oh! i think he xingqiu and hu tao could be a riot in terms of their poetry too lmao
My unpopular opinion about this character:
hmm...again, i feel like i have very little in the way of unpopular opinions. maybe this is a stretch but i think (?) it's popular to view kazoo as the subby, delicate wifey type? and i really don't vibe writing him that way at least. don't mind reading it, but not really my thing to write it?
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
TOMO INTERACTIONS i would've loved/would love a story quest that further explores what happened to tomo, where he came from, etc in the sense of like. maybe kazoo grieving? or smth? if i were writing it personally, i'm not sure how i'd go about it, but 1. i simply can't imagine kazoo really just. setting that vision there and leaving it (knowing that ppl want to steal it?) and 2. just fully letting tomo go (and the CAT the cAT) idk it feels like there could've been a bigger emotional impact if we'd had some more backround beyond just 'they were friends and then he DIED' like a full story quest centered around kazoo coming to terms with him truly being gone? idk that whole bit felt insufficient to me lmao. i would also like to see him...do some more wandering? like...not just on inazuma and in the crux fleet? he makes a big deal out of being a wanderer, i feel like it'd be fun to have him show up in other countries and stuff
my OTP:
tomo, without question lmao
my cross over ship:
hmm. is it cheating if i say todoroki again? (not as a romantic ship) lmao i think their senses of humor would align surprisingly well. plus red/white matchy matchy lmao. and a burn? it's all coming together....does this make dabi = tomo? i'll take a 'tomo didn't actually die but got kidnapped by the fatui on the brink of death and they turned him into a harbinger' 👀👀
a headcanon fact:
hmm....i mean aside from his past which is purportedly rather straightforward, i really don't know if i have much in the way of creative thoughts here lmao. is it a hc to say he and tomo were more than just besties?
send me genshin ships/chars to talk abt or rank!

Wei Wuxian makes families everywhere he goes.
[this got... long]
The first one, of course, is kind of cheating.  In Yunmeng Jiang, he’s taken in as a kid.  Jiang Cheng is made to share his bedroom with him.  And yet, though they were raised as siblings, Jiang Cheng, Jiang Yanli, and Wei Wuxian really did have to choose each other - and being ‘as siblings’ was also a choice.  Jiang Fengmian wanted it, set them up for it, (... sibling favoritism and all, lol), but Yu Ziyuan continually scolded her children for treating ‘the son of a servant’ as a beloved brother.  Both parents set Jiang Yanli and especially Jiang Cheng in competition against Wei Wuxian... and all three kids responded by choosing each others’ sides, by trying to take care of each other, by becoming closer than ever.
The second one is in the Burial Mounds.  I’ve gone on a bit about that ;).  ‘Sometimes a family is two mad scientists and a zombie who owe each other a series of mutually escalating life-debts’?  And also several dozen more war refugees, from elderly down to children, don’t forget that.  It is very incredibly unfortunate if one’s obligations to one’s new family conflict with one’s obligations to one’s earlier (but still present! not former!) other family - but, I mean, if you bring someone back from the dead with the asterisk that you can control them, whether you want to or not; if you’re co-running a village with someone... you’re some sort of family.
(What I always want, personally, is pretty much everyone else important to Wei Wuxian, and also therefore to the story, to ally themselves with and roll right up to the Burial Mounds, in ones or twos or with a whole crowd of followers.)
(My favorite sect really is Yiling Wei, huh.  Of course it is.)
And then, the third one, of course, is in the Cloud Recesses.  Eventually.  resurrection, and only under the auspices of Lan Wangji’s most murderously protective glares.  But also with Lan Xichen, who has always been kind and welcoming and encouraging to Wei Wuxian, who’s all fucked up about all kinds of things and still values his baby brother’s happiness.  With Lan Qiren, who’s disapproved of him for years.... like Yu Ziyuan hadn’t?  Wei Wuxian is chill and older and can deal with disapproval, and, anyway, I have faith that Lan Qiren can change.
With Lan Sizhui!!!  Returned from the radish patch, all unlooked for!!!  Man, there’s just something that moves me so much about someone who has all sorts of other obligations choosing to take on looking after a young child, too, because someone has to and who else is there, and, yes, becoming that child’s parent.  And so I will read Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji as Sizhui’s dads, no matter that it’s arguable vis-a-vis canon.  But I’m not usually even into the pairings I ship having children together - I mean, I’m not necessarily against it? but I’m not invested, I don’t care - ‘they have a son’ was used to try to sell me on this canon back in last winter, and I really don’t care - but the narrative with Sizhui is just.  So wonderful.  To me.
(and that got away from me a bit, lol.)  But I was going to say!  In the Cloud Recesses, with the most loving and devoted and protective husband in the whole damn world, with an approving brother-in-law and a disapproving uncle-in-law, with an adopted kid who turns out to already have been his own, and a whole contingent of young Lan disciples that Wei Wuxian has already pretty much picked up as his very own students/trainees just by virtue of them encountering a dangerous situation or three together.  He thrives as a teacher, and he deserves the whole multi-clan duckling assemblage, but Lan Jingyi and his unnamed peers are a pretty big component of that.
Anyway, the point is: family’s additive.  Let him have ALL the families.
The other point is: Wei Wuxian makes a home wherever he goes.  He’s never had one home (and that’s it).  His parents were wanderers, Yunmeng wasn’t his first home.  Cloud Recesses... might not be his last?  But he’s adaptable, more so than the lotuses he will grow wherever he can.  He doesn’t need to be in one specific place.  And he shapes a place by being there.
And the third point is: ... Wei Wuxian, throughout his teen and adult lives, latches onto everyone.  Anyone in need of his protection, or help... but as a kid?  Jiang Fengmian may have brought him to live in Lotus Pier, but it’s Jiang Yanli who brought him back from running into the woods, who insisted you belong here.  (And insisted the same thing to bb!Jiang Cheng, while we’re at it.)  Anything he knows about making other people his?  Wei Wuxian learned from his shijie.
And the fourth point: ... (you thought we were done with points?  But I have more family things to talk about, so there!)  Is that, of course, that Wei Wuxian’s an orphan.  So maybe he’s always looking for more family.  But he perks up hopefully and/or wistfully not just when hearing about his mother, but when anyone mentions his mother’s teacher.  Baoshen Sanren, who lives on the mountain.  There’s something there, but he could never find it... but when he meets Xiao Xingchen, one of her other disciples, he makes something of that connection.  Though they only travel together briefly (and then, later, of course, Xiao Xingchen dies).
So family can mean so very many different kinds of things.  A small nuclear family, too, small because the parents have left their homes behind; a lineage of teachers and disciples.  It doesn’t even have to stay in one place.
... I do think Wei Wuxian would like staying in one place, I think it would suit his domestic instincts well.  And any place he stays is not gonna have everyone he loves in it, most of the biggest shots of the cultivation world! are his family.  Beware every reunion.  But I also think he’s good at being happy, and making a place where he fits, everywhere that he goes.

CQL ENDING SPOILERS - OVERALL THOUGHTS
I don’t even know where to begin to be honest, there’s so many things I want to say, and yes this will contain spoilers, so read on if you don’t mind spoilers.
For one, I do enjoy this as an adaptation side of things, and I am very grateful that they stayed true to the novel on the most part, even when there are scenes that have changed, scenes opted out but really, in the overall, I do think they really did their best to give us so much and passing through all this censorship, so this is still well done to them. I love the casts on my end, especially Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo who played as my favourite character as well as OTP in this series.
Ofcourse, there are pros and cons in this live-action.
Pros:
For example, some pros are, Jiang Cheng’s character for me, and I felt like I need to really mention it, since I am not a fan of him in the novel (that doesn’t mean I hate him, but I just didn’t really like him until the end when he changed). In the live-action, I love how he shows me that he cares for Wei Ying more than what I am shown in the novel. I love how he doesn’t hate ‘All Wen’s’, because this excludes Wen Qing, and this is why I actually find that ship interesting because it makes Jiang Cheng a better character to me, even though it was shoved under the rug, but well, it’s to be expected.
Wangxian bond in this live-action which was started in their past, I really, really love/adore their bond, to the point they referred to each other as soulmates, even without the kiss, I never really minded, because the live-action was able to show us something more special that you don’t really need physical to show their love for each other. I love how Wei Ying welcomes Lan Zhan to help him, I love how Wei Ying shows me that he actually cares about what Lan Zhan thinks about him, and whether he trusts him or not, these are all positive to me.
Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying brotherly relationship doesn’t seem to end on a bitter note the way the novel has it, so that’s a positive to me.
That whole reunion between Wei Ying and Sizhui, when Sizhui remembered was really sweet/touching, I really love how they added additional scenes and how Sizhui just clung to Wei Ying’s legs like before, that was really sweet, and lol, Wei Ying was embarrassed for teaching a child how to disguise a porn book (haha!) Anyways, that whole scene was adorable.
Cons:
I didn’t like how they made that freaking SuShe out-did Wei Ying’s powers at the Nightless Day, and another time was when Wen Ning lost controlled, which ended up killing Jin Zixuan, honestly, when I learned that it was SuShe (through the help of Jin GuangYao), I seriously just swore, like what the actual f*ck, how dare he!!!! I wouldn’t have been bitter if it was Jin GuangYao or Xue Yang alone who did it, but SuShe? That lowly b*stard?!
See, this is the thing I didn’t like in the live-action is they really, really tamed down Wei Ying’s powers, Wei Ying in the novel, is supposed to be more talented, more stronger than this, there should be NO one aside from him who started this path, because he is the FOUNDER! NOT some stupid Wen’s NOT that stupid SuShe!
Another negative I didn’t like is, they changed the reason behind Lan Zhan’s discipline whips (which I have made a post about this previously, so I won’t touch on that again), it just didn’t impact and touched me the same way as the novel. In the novel, I was really touched, but in the live-action, I just felt “oh... Ok.... with a sense of disappointment”, Ok, I know why Lan Zhan protected Burial Mounds, but I love the reason in the novel better...
Moving forward, the ending. The actual ending. I don’t know how to feel about this. When Wei Ying bid farewell to Wen Ning and Sizhui, because they now have their own paths to walk on, it was sad, but Wei Ying respected their decision. In the novel, I remember Wei Ying this scene very clearly, which I’ll just quote for you:
It was the first time in all these years that Wen Ning made his own decision and stopped walking the same path he walked. Wei WuXian guessed that perhaps he had something he wanted to do out of his own will.
It was what he hoped all this time. Each to their own path. But now that they day really came, watching Wen Ning and Lan SiZhui’s figures walk slowly, slowly away until they finally disappeared, he felt somewhat dejected.
Lan WangJi was now the only one who stood by his side. Luckily, Lan WangJi was also the only one he wished to have by his side.
In the Live-Action, I do feel that Wei Ying wished for Lan Zhan to stay by his side, so when Lan Zhan showed he didn’t have that intention, this whole scene was just heart breaking...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, Wei Ying was teary eye here, dammit, but he is being understanding, so he respected Lan Zhan’s decisions in the end... Personally, I’m glad Wei Ying at least never thought of separating with Lan Zhan because he was thinking they will continue to travel together like this forever, but Lan Zhan’s decisions when he wanted to walk separate paths really, really hurted me on a personal level, I felt so heart-broken in that scene, just like Wei Ying, but he was being understanding so... I am trying to be understanding too, and it’s not like I am not, but I just DON’T understand this... This isn’t about him abandoning his dreams, I’m not saying he have to abandon his dreams, but honestly, both Wei Ying and Lan Zhan made that promise when they made that lantern together, and their ideals don’t clash, so why can’t they just do this together? Travel together? How does this affect censorship? Can two people not travel together? I’m not asking them to do anything more like in the novel. So really, I felt like the moment Lan Zhan made that decision (i.e. them walking separate paths), I just can’t really treat this as canon Lan Zhan anymore, but more as an AU version to his character...
Finally, I am really confused how the whole scene was played out at the top of the mountain. When Wei Ying and Lan Zhan bid their farewell on the mountain, they both walked their own path, yet, a while later you hear Wei Ying played the flute (their ‘Wangxian’ song) on top of the mountain, and then Lan Zhan heard the song, but he continued walking down his own path, then the scene got switch back to Wei Ying playing the flute on the mountain, so is there like a time-skip here? OR did Lan Zhan actually turned around afterwards and decided to go to where Wei Ying is? Like how they handled this whole scene was confusing and incoherent, because the ending when we heard someone said “Wei Ying”, I’m sure that was Lan Zhan, because (1) only Lan Zhan ever calls him by that name, (2) That is clearly his voice and (3) Wei Ying smile, I think he was happy to see Lan Zhan again, and his smile doesn’t lie... BUT the question here is.... Did Lan Zhan actually abandon his decision when they said their farewell? Does this fit his character at all? I just don’t like how they handle Lan Zhan’s character here, because from a non-wangxian standpoint, Lan Zhan isn’t indecisive to me, what he decides, he will stick with it. So this is why when they have that scene played out like this, I rather they have a time-skip because at least I can just take it that Lan Zhan did what he had to attend to and then he will be freed of all this so he can go find Wei Ying on his end... But with how that whole scene played out, it really makes me feel insecure, because I don’t know if this is really real... But I will have to take this as real, because I want to believe in this happy ending, since my heart needs it....
Honestly, all I asked for is for them to give me this ending:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then, zoomed out:
Tumblr media
And then ofcourse their message:
Tumblr media
So in conclusion, I will give this series a 7/10.... If they give me more of a solid ending, it would be an 8/10, but too bad.
I DON’T hate this ending, it is at least a bit satisfying than having no one call out ‘Wei Ying’ at all... But I rather have an ending that is more solid and fulfilling than a very open ending, but at least in the end, Wangxian remained strong to the end, so that’s a pro in this live-action for me...
“Until next time huh?” Hopefully, I can get some Wangxian scenes in the Side Stories which they confirmed they have filmed, because I seriously need it after this ending....

[fic] for time and time again
fandom: nirvana in fire | jingyan/mcs ft. lin chen, jinghuan, and an assortment of mcs’s friends | ~5k
notes: written for @marvelist for the 2018 NiF exchange! currently a wip, but updates will (if all goes according to plan) be coming soon!
summary: [Goblin!AU] Mei Changsu just wants to know what's up with the strange, unfairly handsome man in black he keeps seeing everywhere. A man that no one else seems to be able to see. Lin Chen just wants to have fun, and also annoy the Reapers, and also, perhaps most importantly, give closure to the people he once loved the most. As for the Reaper? Well, it depends on which one.
read it on ao3
CHAPTER 1: many encounters and one large pearl
There is no name written on the card.
The Reaper stands next to a pool of blood. On the gentle winter wind, plum blossoms drift slowly, calmly, like snowfall as they settling lightly on the pavement and atop the darkening blood. Slick and heavy, the blood slowly rivets through the uneven concrete as it travels toward the Reaper’s shiny, black shoes. Time, or something like time, seems to slow to a halt.
It is the middle of winter, and the plum tree is blooming. In the Reaper’s hand, there are two cards, sleek and straight. And yet, there no souls waiting for collection.
The air stinks of a lost soul. Of meddlesome spirits.
Annoyance flashes hot and dark across the Reaper’s face. He carefully slips the name cards into his pocket before lifting his head to the city skyline, eyes narrowed as he traces the string of lights. But whatever his glare settles on, he says nothing. He exhales harshly, and no vapor rises from his lips.
The Reaper steps forward and disappears into smoke.
Settled comfortably on the roof of a skyscraper, Lin Chen snaps open his fan. Glowing under the neon lights, he grins madly to himself as he preens in his success. His paper fan struggles sadly against the raging winter wind, but even as his breath forms white fog-clouds as he exhales, he only feels the slightest of chills. Oh, the joys of being near-immortal.
“Well,” he muses to himself, as he watches the way the plum tree glows under the moonlight. There is only one set of footprints on the snow. “This is going to be interesting.”
A lost soul – not terribly uncommon, but rare enough that the appearance of one was enough to set off the entire Reaper gossip mill.
“Huang!”
The Reaper turns around, balancing his hat on top of a stack of paperwork. At the image of his excited coworker running down the hall, he sighs.
“I heard about your recent collection – a lost soul? Did you actually encounter a lost soul?”
“Well,” Huang says, glaring, “I didn’t exactly encounter it if it became lost, did I?”
The gossiping Reaper only laughs. “It’s been so long since we’ve had one of those cases. Fate sure acts in strange ways, hmm?”
Less the hand of fate, Huang thinks to himself as his colleague waves a cheerful good-bye, and more the whims of annoying and very much non-godly beings.
Life-threatening wounds don’t just heal on their own.
With a renewed vigor in his steps, Huang slinks into his office. Paperwork first. Then, hunting.
Changsu first notices the man in black when he is trudging through the blustery winter chill, walking home from class at the local community college.
At first, he thinks nothing of the man standing at the edge of the crosswalk. In a drowsy stupor, his gaze had slid lazily across the group of people waiting to cross—but just as he is about to glance away, just like he had with everyone else, something stops Changsu from drifting off again.
With a tilt of his head, he considers the man, wondering what exactly about him had caught the attention of his own sleep-deprived mind. The man in black cuts a sleek, sharp figure against the blur of the city, as if the lines of his body are aligned slightly out of place with the rest of reality. But Changsu blinks, and everything smooths out again.
The man fades into the cityscape, as if he’d never been there at all.
With a roll of his aching shoulders, Changsu hefts his backpack up and follows the crowd across the road as the pedestrian light flashes green. He brushes past the man, and by the time he’s halfway across the road he’s already forgotten about it all.
The Reaper, for his part, doesn’t even notice the human that had lingered on him for just a few moments too long to be normal.  Instead, he is watching the intersection intently, waiting patiently. The crowd crosses the road. The traffic light blinks green.
And then – a terrible, terrible screech fills the air as tires skid across the asphalt, metal bodies crunching against each other like an ugly art display.
Somehow, there is only one death today.
Huang is waiting for him outside the teahouse of the afterlife.
“Kai,” he greets as the Reaper steps out the door.
Kai nods in acknowledgement. “This isn’t your usual neck of the woods,” Kai says, “Is there something you need?”
With a shrug, Huang firmly sets his hat on his head; Kai mirrors his action. “Nothing really,” the older Reaper says. “I simply wished to give you a heads up that I’ll be in the area more often.”
Ah – the intense gleam in Huang’s eye made sense now. “New lead on your lost soul?”
Huang’s laughter is sickly sweet, bleeding into something cold. “Something like that.”
Uncertain of what to say, Kai simply tips his hat. It isn’t any of his business, anyhow. “Well, good luck then. Let me know if I can help.”
The second time is less like two ships passing in the night and more like ship stares down iceberg because both of them have absolutely no idea what is going on.
With a heavy sigh, Changsu pushes open the door to his house. Well—it’s not his house.
The moment he steps through the doorway, the stench of cheap beer slams into him. Pressing his lips together in a thin line, Changsu slips his shoes off and peeks into the small living room.
What greets him is entirely in his expectations: Xiao Xuan is sprawled lazily on the couch, flicking mindlessly through different television channels. A near-empty box of beer bottles is within arm’s reach on the table, and empty ones litter the floor. He scratches his patchy beard and mumbles drunkenly to himself.
After his mother died, Uncle Xuan was the only family Changsu had left. It was either that or an orphanage, and Changsu, then just a boy of eight, had to get down on his knees and beg his Uncle to take him in. When Uncle Xuan finaly agreed, Changsu had foolishly thought this was because Uncle Xuan actually had a heart underneath all that bluster. But now, Changsu knows that if it weren't for the life insurance Changsu's mother had left him when she died, Uncle Xuan would have probably kicked him into a ditch.
A pity, then, that Changsu doesn't know where that check is, or how to get it, no matter how much Xiao Xuan hounds him for it.
Before Changsu can decide whether nor not to risk crossing the living room to his bedroom, Xiao Xuan notices him hovering in the hallway.
“Changsu!” he snaps, struggling to sit up. “You’re late. Where the fuck is dinner?”
Changsu briefly closes his eyes and wills patience into his mind. Unfortunately, he has to scrounge through a rapidly dwindling reserve. “Sorry Uncle, I just got home from class. I’ll make dinner right away.” He pauses. “Where’s Jingxuan?”
Uncle Xuan squints at him. “Why? You trying to get out of cooking dinner for him?”
Yes, Changsu doesn’t say, and instead pastes on a blank smile. “Of course not. I was just worried.”
Quickly crossing the living room, Changsu pushes open the door to his bedroom. When Changsu flicks on the light, he sees Jingxuan hunched over his computer, eyes wide and clicking madly at some monster on the screen. He doesn’t acknowledge Changsu’s quick entry and exit.
“Dinner’s soon,” Changsu mutters under his breath as he stuffs his backpack under his desk. Jingxuan ignores him.
As Changsu is poking around in the depressingly empty refrigerator, Uncle Xuan yells, “The hell is that infernal noise?”
It takes a moment for Changsu to understand what the man is angry about. From the road outside comes the shrill shriek of an ambulance siren, and Changsu can hear faint yelling from what he assumes are paramedics or police.
“Changsu!” His uncle yells, and Changsu huffs as he pulls out a bag of green onions.
“Yes, Uncle?”
“Go outside and tell them to shut up,” Xiao Xuan gripes as Changsu, sleeves rolled up and still in an apron, stands at the doorway. “I can’t concentrate on my show.”
On screen, a woman dressed in elaborate, flowing robes sinks to her knees and sobs. Changsu rolls his eyes.
“Sure,” he replies, even though has had no intention of doing so. But Xiao Xuan’s attention is zeroed in on the TV screen again. Like father, like son.
It’s probably for their neighbor anyways. Changsu remembers how even when he was just a kid, the elderly man seemed like he was about to fall over and die any second. He’s just surprised it took this long.
Ah. Might as well take a look. Old man Ji had been nothing but kind to him, if a little overbearing at times.
Changsu quietly opens the front door, peeking out into the darkness. By now, the sirens have stopped, but the flashing lights of the ambulance parked on the road continue to throw red and white arcs of color onto the walls. Sure enough, there is quite a commotion right next door.
Light from Old Man Ji’s house spills out onto the lawn as paramedics roll a stretcher through the front door. To the side, there is another volunteer talking soothingly to Old Man Ji’s wife, who looks to be in the middle of a nervous breakdown.
A cold chill slips down Changsu’s shirt, and somehow, he instinctively knows it isn’t from the wind.
A movement in the corner of his vision makes Changsu instinctively jerk his head toward it. At first, he sees nothing out of the ordinary—just the shadows on the walls and the plants swaying in the breeze.
Then, someone steps out of the doorway, movements graceful and sleek. It’s a man so jarringly out of place that, for a long moment, Changsu can’t even process what he is seeing. He looks like a man right out of an old film, all monochrome with a black trench coat and a black – is that a fedora? As he descends the stairs, one hand placed firmly on his ridiculous hat, the other tucked in a coat pocket, he neatly sidesteps a man rushing in with some sort of medical apparatus. No one else – not the wife, not the volunteers, not the policemen – seems to notice him.
Changsu, frozen in place, suddenly thinks where have I seen this man before?
As if on cue, the man pauses, one leg already poised to step onto the sidewalk. With a slight tilt of his head, he turns around, slowly, gaze sweeping quick and sharp across the scene he’d just left.
When his eyes settle on Changsu’s wide eyes and open jaw, he frowns.
It’s an—attractive look. This thought registers dimly in the back of Changsu’s head as he flinches at the unexpected intensity at which the stranger scrutinizes him
The stranger is still staring at Changsu with a slightly pissed expression, but the clench of his jaw accentuates his absurdly sharp cheekbones and the strong cut of his jawline.
Feeling a little brave, and a little foolish, Changsu plasters on an embarrassingly small smile and waves.
The man’s eyes widen, all traces of anger gone, as he whips his head around, as if searching frantically for something. When he finds nothing but empty space behind him, he stares at Changsu again.
The absurdity of this entire situation startles Changsu out of his previous deer-in-headlights mode.
“Yes, you!” He yells out across the lawn. But perhaps the hustle and bustle of next door, seeing as the paramedics have just eased a stretcher carrying one pale Old Man Ji out of the house, swallow his words, because in between one blink and the next the man is gone.
Uncle Xuan’s angry yell of hurry up with dinner! is enough to jerk Changsu out of his odd trance. Swallowing his disappointment (at what? he can’t really seem to decide), Changsu guiltily retreats back into the house, shutting the door behind him.
As he hurries to the kitchen, he realizes he can’t shake the feeling of something being terribly, terribly out of place, but Uncle Xuan’s impatient scolding is more than enough for Changsu to bury the entire incident into the recesses of his memory.
Meng-dage pounces on Changsu after lunch.
“Changsu,” Meng Zhi says, beaming. The crinkle of his eyes gives him a distinct puppy-like look, something slightly unnerving to be seen on a grown man. “I need to show you something.”
With a sigh, Changsu waves his hands flippantly, even as Meng Zhi throws an arm around his shoulder.
“Meng-dage,” Changsu says, weakly, “I have to go to class.”
“It’s important,” Meng insists. “And no you don’t, you don’t have class until two.”
Normally, Changsu very much appreciates Meng Zhi’s attempts to wriggle into his life. For all his overbearing attention, Meng is a thoughtful and sincere person, and also one of the few friends who knows about Changsu’s home situation. Changsu has crashed in Meng’s guest room more times than he can count, and he swears by Meng’s home-cooked meals.
But today, Changsu is feeling shittier than normal. A cough lingers in his chest, and although he doesn’t have a fever, he’s been shivering all day. The droning lectures of his professors only add to his headache.
Of course, Meng Zhi notices. “Did you take your meds yet?” he asks, frowning at Changsu.
Changsu nods, but then coughs wetly right after, so he does not paint that convincing of a picture. Meng’s face scrunches into a near comical portrayal of worry. No one really knows what kind of illness Changsu has—Uncle Xian took him to the hospital the first time, looked at the bill, and laughed in his face. A few successive visits, using Uncle Xian’s last bit of goodwill, resulted in nothing but a diagnosis of “weak constitution.” Now, Changsu pays for his (probably wrong) medication completely out of pocket. At least it alleviates some of the pain.
But Changsu manages to wave off Meng’s concerns, and after a few more minutes of wheedling, Changsu finally relents.
“This,” he snaps, although he really isn’t that angry, “better be good.”
With a laugh, Meng gently removes the finger jabbing at his chest. “Remember this summer, when Jingrui and his family—and most of his extended family—went on that cruise trip?”
As they round a corner, Meng still chatting amicably about the adventures of Jingrui and Yujin and Jingrui’s crazy family in the Bahamas, Changsu slowly tunes out Meng’s chatter. There’s an odd feeling unfurling in his chest again. Or maybe it’s more like needle pinpricks brushing against his skin. Changsu self-consciously rubs at his arm.
Right as Meng is about to lead him into a classroom, Changsu jerks to a stop. The moment he does, the shuffling footsteps behind him cease.
Slowly, Changsu turns around, ignoring Meng’s concerned question. But there is nobody behind them, the hallway empty.
“It’s nothing,” Changsu mutters, even though the tingling still creeps over his skin.
When Changsu follows Meng through the door, his is immediately attacked by a purple cyclone.
“Changsu!” Yujin yells, vaulting over a nearby desk to tackle Changsu into a hug. “You're still alive!”
“Geez,” Meng Zhi scolds, pulling the grinning boy off of Changsu, who has turned a worrying shade of red as he gasps for breath, if a bit exaggeratedly. “At this rate, he won't be for very long!”
“Changsu, are you alright?”
Jingrui carefully picks his way around the scattered desks and chairs, worry creasing his forehead. Like a slippery eel, Yujin expertly twists out of Meng Zhi’s grasp, bounding toward Jingrui with seemingly endless energy.
With a show of great effort, even though Yujin's hug had been more surprising than painful, Changsu heaves himself up, scrabbling feebly at Meng’s arm. In solidarity, Meng Zhi gasps dramatically and clutches at Changsu’s swaying body, face twisting in a caricature of shock.
“This better be worth a near-death experience” Changsu moans, daintily touching the back of his hand to his forehead as he swoons in Meng Zhi’s arms. Yujin is laughing so hard he’s wiping away tears, while Jingrui hides a fond smile behind a sleeve. They're used to Changsu’s dramatics, and a little bit of gallows humor never hurt.
With a flourish, Jingrui pulls a padded box from the folds of his jacket sleeves. It’s slightly larger than the width of Jingrui’s palms, and is fashioned after a treasure chest. Changsu quirks a smile at the tacky appearance, but still leans in with an air of expectation.
“I know how much you like shiny things,” Jingrui declares with utmost certainty, ignoring the way Meng Zhi snorts loudly. “So when we found this, we immediately thought of you!”
Saying so, he carefully opens the box. Inside, padded with soft red satin, sits a large pearl, slightly misshapen, about the size of a pigeon’s egg. When Jingrui’s hands move, it catches the light, and shines. Almost instinctively, Changsu leans in, eyes widening. The pearl really is a pretty thing, milk white all-around but with an odd sort of luster that only polished things have. He has to pat his hands on his arms to stop himself from reaching out.
“Did you buy this?” Changsu asks, looking slightly embarrassed when Jingrui, having seen Changsu’s aborted action, early offers the box to him. He picks the pearl up, admiring the way it slides across his palm.
“Nope!” Yujin cuts in, bounding on the balls of his feet. He’s beaming with the satisfied air of someone who has done a tremendous deed. “I found it in the ocean when we were scuba diving! Honest to god, it’s the real thing.”
Suddenly, there’s a light gust of wind brushing against the nape of Changsu’s neck, the whisper of footsteps slipping past his ears, so gentle that Changsu almost doesn’t notice anything is out of place. But Changsu has always been more observant than most, and after a moment of processing, he thinks, almost idly, how can there be wind in this classroom with a closed door and no open windows?
Changsu raises his head without even thinking, mind temporarily off the (very pretty) pearl and eyes about to sweep across the windows, when an unexpected thing bursts into view.
And he very much bursts. One moment, there is empty space to the right of Changsu and the next, a flurry of what sounds like flapping wings, a gust of wind that doesn’t move a hair on Changsu’s head, and a man appears out of thin air.
Changsu stumbles backwards, right into Meng Zhi’s chest, and somehow manages to choke down a curse. In the process, his frail hands fumble the box. Jingrui, reflexes honed by a lifetime of martial arts training, somehow manages to lurch forward and grab the box, and the pearl safely with it, before it can tumble to the ground.
Faintly, Changsu can hear Meng Zhi’s concerned. Changsu blinks, and Yujin has scurried to his side, helping Meng Zhi prop him up as Jingrui stands helplessly, hands still curved around the treasure chest.
Next to Jingrui stands a man in black. Changsu blinks again, and the blurred outlines of his figure seem to stutter and then clear in quick succession, like a camera does as it focuses. Another blink, and then there is the realization that this is the man Changsu saw a week ago, in the yard, watching over Uncle Ji’s departure with the steady gaze of someone who has seen the same scene over and over again.
Changsu swallows as his mind kicks into gear again. As Yujin tugs at his arm, worry creasing his forehead, Changsu realizes that no one else in the room can see him.
He makes a split-second decision.
“I’m fine, I’m fine,” he says, stumbling to his feet. He turns to give Meng Zhi a small smile. “Thanks for catching me.”
“Are you ok? Do you need to drink something? Eat something? Do we need to get you to the hospital?” Yujin asks, all in a rush.
Changsu waves him off. “It’s ok, I just got dizzy for a moment.” He winks at Jingrui, who has relief painted all over his face. “Guess that pearl was just too cool.”
“Really, Changsu,” Jingrui sighs. “But really, if you’re feeling unwell, let us know, ok?”
Changsu nods, but his attention is already sliding off his friends and focusing on the strange man, who is dressed in the exact same black coat, black boots, black hat as he was the last time Changsu saw him.
The man makes no move to interact with any of the other people in the room. In fact, as Yujin bounces back to Jingrui’s side, Changsu thinks that the man isn't really aiming to do anything all.
Changsu stares at the man's face, at his familiar jawline, the slight widening of his eyes. When Changsu follows the man’s stare, he realizes that it is focused on the pearl still in Jingrui’s hands. All at once, the man stills, silence rushing to fill the soft murmurings of ambient noise that had followed his entrance. Then, he hears a soft intake of breath from the man, and to Changsu's surprise, a tear rolls down his cheek.
Evidently, the man is surprised too. He raises a trembling hand to brush under his eyes, and then rubs more fiercely when the tears don't stop.
“What is wrong with me?” The man whispers, seemingly unable to break eye contact with the pearl.
An automatic response is on the tip of Changsu’s tongue, but Jingrui flips the treasure chest shut as Yujin says, beaming, “And that’s the full story of how we got the pearl and gloriously pranked Jingrui’s Aunt Yue! Spectacular, right?”
The man flinches violently, spell broken. He rubs furiously at his eyes, gives the classroom a rough, wide sweep, and disappears as suddenly and as smoothly as he came.
Before Changsu can react, Jingrui is pressing the box into his hands. “I don't really like these things,” he’s saying, “And Yujin will probably lose it within a week—” “—would not!” “—so take care of it, ok?”
“Right,” Changsu says, startled back into the present. “Of course I will. You two really know me so well.”
As they part ways, Changsu finds that he can't quite return Jingrui and Yujin’s bright smiles. The presence of the man in black weighs heavy on his mind. Once is a coincidence, explained by fickle fate and odd people. Twice? Especially when the man in question teleports in and out of the room like some kind of ghost?
Changsu isn't the religious type, nor does he believe in the supernatural. But the curiosity is eating him from inside out, and there's only so many ways to explain the phenomenon he'd just witnessed.
By the time he waves goodbye to Meng-dage and heads to his next class, he is already scheming.
Lin Chen is having a wonderfully normal day, filled with lovely strolls through the city and exciting conversations with the local ghosts when an angry Reaper materializes in front of him. The shadows kicking at his feet, along with the fearsome aura spiking off him in droves, causes the ghost Lin Chen has been teasing to screech in fright and promptly disappear.
“You!” Kai snarls, and it is such an uncharacteristic expression on his face that Lin Chen’s frivolous greeting dies in his throat.
“Me!” Lin Chen recovers quickly, and gives the Reaper a cheeky smile. “But you know that I'm me. What business do you have with this little fox spirit, Mr. Reaper?”
“Little fox spirit? You no good, meddling huli jing! You bastard of a ninetails!”
“I have eight very beautiful tails, thank you very much,” Lin Chen sniffs, snapping open his fan.
With a ferocious vigor not usually seen in any Reaper, much less one as calm and professional as Kai, Kai jabs a trembling finger into Lin Chen's face.
“I don't know what trick you pulled,” he says, anger tightening his voice, “But stop interfering with my life and my job.”
Lin Chen very tactfully does not say but you're dead! Instead, he snaps his fan shut and taps it against his chin, a slow smile curling across his face. Though Lin Chen rarely takes his true fox-form these days, preferring to show off only his tails, or most often, to pass completely as a human, something about the way he holds himself, about the way amusement constantly dances in his eyes or the wry smile lingering on his mouth, a witty comment prepped on his tongue that reminds most people he meets of a trickster fox. At this moment, Kai watches the way Lin Chin’s eyes curve in a a-ha! movement and has the distinct feeling of being swindled, although of what he doesn't know yet.
“I see,” Lin Chen drawls. “You saw him.”
“Why did you tell me to go to that school?” Without truly listening to Lin Chen, Kai barrels on. He’s managed to wrestle composure over his face, but Lin Chen can still feel the quiet, dangerous anger swirling right under the surface. “Did you cast a spell on that pearl? Is this your idea of a prank?”
Lin Chen’s fan pauses in its motion. “Ah,” he says, mildly, “A beautiful pearl, was it not? Why, did you find it distasteful?”
“It made me cry,” Kai blurts out. He presses his lips shut, embarrassed at another uncharacteristic outburst. Especially one so full of raw insecurity, of unfiltered emotions. Reapers, after all, for all they looked like humans, for all they needed to sleep and eat, aren’t humans anymore. The intensity at which humans experience emotions are unnecessary for a Reaper’s job.
Lin Chen’s eyes widen. He is obviously not expecting this response, and falls into silence. He tilts his head, and then takes a few steps backwards, gaze suddenly sharpening with intensity. Kai can only stand in confusion as Lin Chen paces a slow, steady circle around him, eyes flickering up and down his body, as if Lin Chen has truly seen Kai for the first time. One step, then another, and then Lin Chen has stepped right into Kai’s personal space, leaning in so close that Kai can almost feel the other man’s breath ghosting over his skin.
Under the weight of Lin Chen’s stare, unsettling and unexpected, Kai suddenly feels as if the heavy burden of all the time Lin Chen has lived, all empires he has seen rise and fall, all the lives he has watched from beginning to end, has settled on Kai’s shoulders. There is a near-oppressive aura rolling off of Lin Chen in waves, and unconsciously, Kai’s throat closes up. For a moment, he stops breathing.
Then, Lin Chen straightens, cheery smile back on his face. Kai jolts out of his trance, stumbling backward as he inhales sharply. Somehow, he manages to keep his composure.
“I thought so,” Lin Chen says, sounding extremely smug. “I love being right.”
“What?” Kai snaps. He has the distinct feeling of being led around by a dangling carrot, forever turning round and round in circles. He doesn’t like it. “Speak clearly, fox, or I will smite you.”
But Lin Chen only laughs and dances away from Kai’s outstretched hand. “As if you can do anything to me, little Reaper. I’m a little out of your jurisdiction, you know?”
“By the way,” Lin Chen adds, snapping open his fan in a big, dramatic gesture. As the fan flutters, the elegant design spread across the leaf shifts and shimmers under the sunlight, the colors splashed across the fan flashing and changing as if they had a mind of their own, Lin Chen grins. It is as warm as all of Lin Chen’s other smiles have been, but Kai can see the glint of sharp canines.
“You should talk to him,” Lin Chen continues, clearly ignoring the wariness that flashes across Kai’s face. “You know? The human that can see you.”
It takes a moment for Lin Chen’s words to sink in. By the time Kai demands, “How do you know that?!” Lin Chen has already disappeared, leaving nothing behind but the echoes of his laughter on the winter wind.
Lin Chen has been witness to many, many things. With every tail a huli jing gains, his power grows, but this sort of power can only come into being through the passage of time. His eight tails, gained through patience, perseverance, and the careful sharpening of his magic through eight lifetimes of living, mark his long foray into eternity.
But these are not eight human lifetimes, oh no. A fox spirit’s lifetime is not marked by humans, nor anything they create. Not the rise and fall of their cities, their empires, or even the long, tedious span of their civilizations.
Lin Chen has lived for a long, long time.
In this lifetime, Lin Chen has been witness to many remarkable things. The land he has settled on has witnessed centuries of bloodshed, each new war marked by a new liege-lord, a new emperor, a new identity. This is the way humans live, after all. To struggle and struggle again once you fall, always reaching for greater things.
Generally, Lin Chen tries not to extensively interact with humans. How to explain the fact that you have seen his father’s generation born and watched them die, and his grandfather’s, and his great-grandfathers? How to explain the fact that you never seem to age, how to explain the way you hold yourself at such a strange distance from worldly affairs, yet are so inexplicably affected by it?
Most of all, Lin Chen is tired of making friends, of falling in love, only for each and every relationship to become lost in the sands of time.
There is a saying, among the supernatural that are intricately tied with human lives. Lin Chen has also heard it repeated among humans, although he does not quite know where it originated for them.
They say that humans have four lives. One life of planting seeds, one life of watering those seeds, another life of harvesting, and finally, a life of cherishing the harvest.
In this life, there is a Reaper and there is a Lost Soul and a pearl. In a previous life, Lin Chen played side by side with two boys bound together tightly by a red string of fate.
Really, saving that Lost Soul from certain death was just a whim. Having lived as long as he has, not even staring in the face Death can scare him anymore.
But Lin Chen looks at Mei Changsu and he looks at the Reaper who cried over a pearl carrying the heavy weight of a promise that has lasted through death and beyond death and he can only shake his head and ask himself how in the world he didn’t realize sooner.
Idly, he wonders which lifetime they lived then, and which one they live in now.

traveller is such a op!! from what i gather people sleep on them because they’re free and there are “more” exciting characters but traveller is a five star!!! put some respect on their name 😤 to each their own, but yk. underrated baby.
YEAH PRO BENDERS!!!!!!! well.. they’re on opposite teams and something happens at an important match of theirs so they’re forced to link up to survive and well.. yeah 😌 i’ve written about 20k words and i’m not even half done with the story help... i really wanna finish it though... anyway yes i do write shdksjdksjdk at first i was too shy to bring it up but you know so much about me already might as well.. 😶 i’ve written for years but i only started posting seriously again after years of not doing it in 2020... i have a couple out actually !! shsjdjhdjdjd not a lot of klance but some bnha ! 🥺 maybe someday i’ll share... 🥺
this connects a bit with this ^ part above as well i suppose. it was incredibly freeing ! it was actually the best thing i’ve done to myself.. idk i realized that that life was just dragging me down so much... always being connected and knowing everything all the time drained me so much. then i just cut everything out and found myself??? this sounds so generic but it’s true jshsjjsisjfj if it’s something you’ve thought about i truly recommend it!!! it takes some time to get used to the silence but god when you do it’s so relaxing. it’s like... so fun hanging out with yourself. i got into so many shows and watched so much movies and stuff by myself and made my own memories and i treasure that so much. shdhdkdhkssj this got so deep..... freelance writing do be like that. you can’t force it you just gotta let it come to you. but looking at your posting list you’re super consistent and it’s always quality fics so don’t feel too bad!! here’s an outside view telling you that you’re doing super well... <333

if they announced a movie and it was a prequel... i’d be so upset. like... so fucking upset lmao. there are so many unresolved loose ends it would be so annoying... but truthfully i don’t think they’ll do it. voltron took to hard of a hit for them to pull a move like that lmao .
hmmmm it’s true that studio ghibli movies end too fast.. one moment you’re like... in this amazing beautiful world and the next there are end credits. haku is BESTEST boy. dragon king.... <3333 you’re going on a studio ghibli marathon??? how beautiful of you. <3

*bernie voice* i am once again asking for your forgiveness. i keep sending these long ass asks i rly need to chill... goodbye LMAO :*
(‘read more’ again bc my reply got long fhksjfjds)
hi bb!
oooo nice! did you get to play in the snow~ and yeah ahah it’s close to 30 degrees rn! it was pretty shit earlier in the week but it’s gonna get hotter again for a bit. does it get pretty hot in sweden in the summer? or are you guys too close to the north pole or something for that to happen
that sounds good!! (other than the horrible thing that is school...) ahah you’ve got my heart going doki doki now please 🤪💓. in all honesty it seems pretty balanced tho i do hope you’re taking breaks from study and all!! hmm today i got up super late again and then i tried to go for a walk (it was too hot so i came back) and then i was editing a fic! and now i’m gonna play genshin bc i think a new event started, then hopefully maybe finally start studying fhksjfd
ahh ! AHHAHA nooooo rip :( but omg i still can’t believe you have bennett.. like i know that i haven’t tried for this banner and maybe i would have him too if i did but 😩😩 he’s so cute!! WAIT on that topic guoba does that too i swear i have to like make so many calculations and figure out the optimal spot to place him so he won’t go breathing fire in the wrong direction XD
i 10000000% agree!!! like excuse me they can also control TWO elements???? who else could ever 😩 i watched a video about geo traveller too some time ago and that made me stop sleeping on them like damn they did some damage!
hehehe that sounds so intriguing 👀 20k!!! that’s more than i could ever omg... sending you strength!! you’ve got this 💪💪 icb you were too shy to bring it up pls im losing my mind over here 😭 but aw that’s really nice <3 maybe 2020 did some good after all.. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pls whenever you’re ready i’m here... or mayhaps would you be okay with just plain copying a snippet into an ask sometime i promise i won’t look it up and try find you 😩 but i wanna witness some of your magnificence !
(also scratch that genshin co-op date idea um... fic collab instead?! could you imagine 😌)
yeah ugh i totally get the being drained feeling.. it’s like it doesn’t bring you joy you know? and you’re just still there bc you’ve just always been there and it’s too late to leave. !!! that does sound really tempting.. but i think i’m a bit too attached to the people i’ve met (you being one of them hehe) to fully let go. but if in the future i just need to take a break i’ll def do it! i was hesitant about doing that last year but now that i’ve done it before surely I won’t hesitate before doing it again (tho i’ve noticed that whenever i try to leave/take a break some new thing happens or releases and i’m losing my mind and can’t go fskjfhsd)
tysm marriage anon i appreciate you sm 😭💞 but yeah it’s easy to get lost in it sometimes but then i’ll look back and see how much i’ve actually done throughout the year and it’s like?? wow i did actually do and achieve a lot? so perspective matters i guess ahah
FHKDSJFH okay but todobaku who’s who? i like writing from bakugou’s POV more which makes me think I can relate to him more (like i used to write from lance’s pov a lot! that, and just bc we both love keith a lot 🤪) but i do write from todoroki’s pov quite a bit too.. hm.
and yes!!! honestly if venti is actually coming back i should invest in getting him too.. he can do so much !! the only issue i have is that i don’t really like bow users bc i’m shit at aiming hfkdsjfhjsd. waiting for the day we can live out our xiaoven dreams <333 FKJSHFKJSD and please don’t give me money for that fhsdkfjs!! spend it on yourself instead 😩😩 but also real talk i wasn’t gonna say this bc i’m uber paranoid that somehow someone will read it and hack into my account FKHSFKSJD but i have like... 12k primogems rn AHAHAH so i’m feeling good about getting him! ty for the offer tho but seriously, let that go to your own genshin funds first if anything fhksjfds get yourself a c6 venti. yeah honestly me not really shipping anyone is a big reason why i haven’t read anything either lolll. like the art is good and i’m fine but i’m not invested enough to read fics about it yet fdshfkjs. yup it is! in case you haven’t found it yet, here! (i saw that the prologue alone was 74 pages and yeeted out of there hfdsjf)
yeah i think dreamworks ended up kinda unhappy with it all FKJFHKDSHFS but honestly with how they ended the show i feel like in their minds all ends were tied so the only option would be for a prequel? idk. and also bc i feel like movies from shows tend to do that ahaha. or omg a spinoff with completely new characters and maybe we only get mentions or cameos of the old ones hfkdsjf
yesss i’m so excited to at least get through the most popular ones!! still haven’t started howl’s moving castle yet tho lol. can’t wait to finally understand when everyone talks about these movies 😩
no i don’t know that post?? but omg.. 💕💕 also is this an appropriate time to ask what your pronouns are/how you like to be referred to FHSDKFHSD i’ve been using non-gendered language as much as i could bc idk what you prefer!
okay i might.. post a link to that doc in an ask sometime soon then or hm.... what if i continued working on it instead... many different options hfskjdfd
i mostly listen to kpop!! ahah in recent years i’ve really said fuck western media and fully immersed in the asian stuff.. but yeah my ults are bts but i really got into seventeen in 2020 and i love them so much... they’re all so funny btsvt collab when HFKSFJS. hbu??
*bernie voice* i am once again asking you to stop apologising >:( please these are genuinely the highlight of my day LOL i am always looking forward to your messages!! pls do not chill >:((((
yours, c.r. <3
