Lucifer x Taller!Reader [ Headcanons ]

He loves being the little spoon. He falls asleep faster when he's wrapped up under your arms and legs.

He knows you're the one that keeps putting stuff up on high shelves and he refuses to ask you for help but also refuses to use his wings to go and get it around you because he knows you'd tease him for it

You pick him up whenever he has his guard down.

You did that once and his wings popped out because of how startled he got and smacked you in the face

He apologized profusely

Sometimes he doesn't wanna walk anymore so you carry him around

He asked you to pick him up so he can shit talk Alastor face to face

He makes the rubber duck version of you bigger than the ones of him

You would constantly get into fights, never ignoring a soul in need of someone to step. This very behavior always ends with Lucifer flying away with you after you've brutalized another soul for picking on someone smaller than them

He loves hugging you for multiple reasons. One of them is because he's at the perfect height to bury himself into your chest

Oh and he uses them as pillows :)

You almost stepped on him when he was hiding from you and it unlocked something within him

You tease him in public whenever you want to leave a function and it always works because he gets too flustered to stay

You pick him up whenever he's mad at you and hold him just far enough so his legs can't reach you

He could totally use his wings to get away but he likes getting carried

You found out he likes getting carried and carry him every time you get a chance

This embarrasses him at first but then he would proudly have you carry him around wherever he needs to go

If he pisses you off, you drop him

He cries about it

And you pick him back up

Circling back to the little spoon thing, whenever he's the big spoon you always wake up to him on top of you or entangled in your limbs somehow

You got him a stepping stool once so he can, in your words, "feel like a big boy"

He only uses it when you're not around

Whenever he throws a fit and you walk away, he latches on to your legs and gets dragged as you walk off

You grab him by the ankles when he's being a brat

You shook him and rubber ducks fell out of his coat

Explosive rubber ducks

He was trying to rig Alastor's tower again

He tried to fly away

You held on

This one time, you guys got into an argument but you couldn't stay mad because he was looking up at you angry

"Why are you laughing?! This isn't funny!"

"Sorry, let me get down to your level so I can better understand why you're angry."

There's a rubber duck in at least one of the pockets in everything you own

"Luci, no rubber ducks for the date. Please." He pouted and set down the ones he held. You squinted. "I know you have more." He whined and emptied his pockets. A pile of rubber ducks fell out of his pocket. But he looked too happy, too compliant.

You reach into your jacket's pocket and pulled out three mini rubber ducks. You stared at him, he just smiled at you nervously. "I...used your jacket?"

Wings AU character bits

Hi this is me trying to get a grip on writing again and getting the characters while also adding the wing bits.

Ice Harpy Eagle

Likes having long nails (harpy eagles have fuckin huge talons), keeps them shaped and neatly painted if he's in the mood when on leave

Likes to keep his nest cool and clean (comfy but practical)

Tall nesting! He always claims the top bunk!

His childhood bedroom had one of those tall beds with a desk under them because he kept piling stuff up to sleep atop of them and it could fit multiple people

Sad because Navy bunk beds are small :(

Strong as fuck (he's smaller than Sli but can bench press almost as much) (harpy eagles grab animals as big as them like sloths and carry them) (can carry others while flying if needed just not for lengthy flights)

Very keen eyesight so sunglasses for light sensitivity (maybe reading glasses for near sight focus? I like him with glasses)

Very good hearing (don't shit talk near him he'll definitely hear it)

Hair moves very slightly, similar to feathers (kinda like their facial disk and feather crest)

*Baby feathers are almost all white with some light gray. They molt usually once a year (sometimes twice) and it takes 5 years to get the adult coloring

Ice's stayed in a middle coloring and he got insecure. His mom suggested matching his hair and that's how the frosted tips came to exist :D

He's a provider by nature but his little sisters have made him very nurturing and affectionate too (Slider knows this firsthand and thinks it's hilarious how fussy Ice can get)(the others learn with time but first baby goose)

Leaves feathers around the house (perfectly placed thank you very much)

Slider Bearded Vulture

Lämmergeier means “Lamb vulture” (wrong because they don't prey on sheep but shhhhh). Slider calls Maverick “Little lamb” as a joke because he loves annoying him and wants to eat him up

CAN ACTUALLY EAT BONES!!! (Bone soup is a thing!) Will chew on them till it's painful to watch and will take anyone's bones off their plates to pick the marrow off them

The bone dropping shows a lot in him just throwing stuff. He does it. A LOT.

He also likes to have a tennis ball around to fidget dropping it and catching it when it bounces

Has an actual nest bed. The mattress is on the harder side but it has a shit ton of blankets and pillows (to the point you can't feel the mattress)

There are old feathers around the nest tucked in between pillows (don't tell Ice!!) ⁠(⁠ ⁠⁄⁠•⁠⁄⁠-⁠⁄⁠•⁠⁄⁠ ⁠)

Very involved into the life of the ones he loves (helpful, affectionate, etc) (this includes parenting looks at baby goose)

His feathers only dye red when visiting his family or on vacation with family because they frequent iron rich waters (his mom loves her red feathers and looking at her baby look like her makes her teary eyed)

Maverick Peregrine Falcon

Very lightweight!!!

He's beauty, he's grace, he'll dive down and kick you in the face (literally, peregrine falcons kill prey by punching them with their closed talons when dividing)

Very keen reflexes (both at ground and on air), will grab anything you throw at him even if distracted

Very! Good! At courting!!!! (Looking at the beginning bar scene)

Small but comfy nest. Very soft and also bunk bed! is perfect

Has a favorite blanket that he will ALWAYS take everywhere, even on deployment

Cracking his head fuckin open more than once as a kid because he's a menace and small and tried to dive from places he climbed (not his best idea)

crying because he's so small he can't carry goose after the accident and can just grab at him until they get rescued

Now this would be for trans! Mav

To everyone's surprise Mav is as big as he can get (Female birds of prey are bigger than males= bigger wingspan, human height is genetic so for avians is a bit mixed)

Wings don't allow binding (for obvious reasons) but kinesiology tape exists!

He already used KTape before joining the navy and top surgery so he's used to just strutting around shirtless (we stan a short confident king! It's honestly so freeing to tape and be shirtless I might just leave him pre surgery for next fanart pieces)

Goose Emden Goose

Literally a Mother Goose™

Has learned to deal with Maverick and not only does he not get surprised by his antics, he can predict them and is already prepared for them (aka get ready to scoop tiny ass Mav if he gets in trouble or hurts himself)

The good part is that it has made him baby proof. He can deal with a child he's been dealing with Mav!

Terrified. Absolutely terrified. Because his beautiful baby gosling is as much a little shit as his wife and best friend. If his wings weren't already white they'd for sure be by now ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ

I need to think more about Mav and Goose but that involves looking for Peregrine Falcon and Geese facts

The place was beautiful, that is the first thing the Sully family observed as they landed

But these humans didn’t wear masks and had these massive wings attached to their backs

To say the Sully’s were shocked was putting it lightly

The leader approached carefully

Studying the Na’vi family

It was obvious she was the leader because she was the only one in the most decorated attire

Jake introduced himself and his family

Asking for assistance from the sky people to hide from…

…well, the sky people

They agreed, seemingly more than happy to go against the sky people actively colonizing the planet

As Jake and Neytiri continued conversing with the leader, she suggesting she introduce her daughter

After making a strange calling sound that sounded much like a bird,

A teenage girl came flying from the sky, her big wings carrying her

Neteyam:

Neteyam watched as she swooped down towards her mom in awe

The only thing on his mind was how one human could be so beautiful

How one being could be so beautiful

After being introduced by her mother, she said hi to each of them in perfect na’vi

Neteyam couldn’t take his eyes off [Name]

Smiling softly, he waved

She only smirked winking and blowing a kiss

Neteyam could only watch her fly away with a small smile on his face

He hoped that he would be seeing a lot more of her

Neteyam went on to only talk about that for the rest of the day

Lo’ak:

Lo’ak’s jaw dropped as he watched her land

Neteyam laughed at his reaction

Kiri had to elbow him to remind him to close his mouth

Could you blame him though? [Name] was gorgeous

Lo’ak thought that gorgeous wasn’t a strong enough a word for the sheer beauty in front of him

As [Name] was introduced, she waved at all of the kids with a bright smile

Lo’ak felt like his heart would stop when her eyes shifted past him

He put his hand up to wave awkwardly

Seemingly having seen this hesitation, [Name] smiles softly and blows him a kiss before walking off

An stupid smile grew on the youngest brother’s face

Which Neteyam made sure to tease him about

Lo’ak made a mental note to try and talk to her

And he had that stupid smile on his face for the rest of the day

Megatron

Honestly probably doesn't even notice you're any different at first until you start zipping around

I would say that of the four he's the one that cares the least

That isn't to say he doesn't care at all, far from it! He's got more than a handful of schemes, plots, ploys, etc ready to use when the need should arise

Depending on how you fly and such, he might take your movements into consideration when it comes to his own flight or when training troops. The information gets passed on to Starscream for the latter, but he's still aware of it

He doesn't expect you to be able to keep up with him when he's flying, but he will commend the effort

He does expect your wings to be in peak condition; they're one of your defining features and something that he see as putting you above the rest of your species

If you're at all self conscious about your wings, he scoffs and tells you to take pride in what sets you apart. It's not great advice, but it's something

Soundwave

Enjoys running his fingers through your feathers if you'll let him

Despite being in a relationship, he's still got a job to do. If you're up for it, he'll ask you to do recon or survey areas that need to be scouted in a more subtle way

He's not above using your humanity for the benefit of the Decepticons, but he wouldn't knowingly put you in harms way

Of the four, he's got the easiest time helping you groom your wings due to how thin his digits are

He draws comparisons between you and Laserbeak at times, though he does keep those thoughts to himself

Shockwave

Dude has got plans and ploys in place to test things and ideas

At times it might feel like you're more an experiment than a partner

He's always more than happy to run tests on how far you can fly and how fast, how much weight you can carry and for how long/far

He's also rather interested in your biology, pulling up diagrams of a typical human body and comparing it to yours, trying to figure out why you're different

It might be hard to notice, but he's more careful when it comes to tests. It's one of the few ways he has to show he does actually care about you, and doesn't want to see you hurt if it can be avoided

If there's something you want to train towards physically, you can count on him to come up with the most optimal training program possible

He finds it helpful to have you in the lab and having you zip around and collecting tools for him so he doesn't have to step away from his work

He understands the concept of keeping muscles strong, and makes sure you exercise enough if you're keeping him company in the lab

Knock Out

Dude makes sure you know how pretty your wings are

Makes sure you've got every product you'd ever need to keep them in top condition. Don't ask where he got them from tho

Schedules regular sessions where the two of you just preen and gossip

Also finds it super helpful that you can just fly up and reach the spots he can't and buff them out for him

Absolutely admires the strength you have in your wings. The idea that you have to actually flap them and have enough strength to get yourself off the ground is foreign to him as it's super different for Cybertronians

Not a fan of molting tbh. There's feathers everywhere and guh they're everywhere

Will still (reluctantly) help you deal with it tho

Knock Out makes sure you know he thinks that your wings make you much cooler than other people, and is not above making fun of the Autobots for having 'inferior' humans on their side

Now to ideas for this Crow!Reader who keeps just trying to collect the transformers(wether reader is like a crow harpy/actually has bird characteristics or is human/crybertronian is up to u😌) ORRRRRRR she keeps bringing them shiny things cause she likes them and is trying to court them but they don’t get it, and reader is super possessive of her shiny things

TransformersPrimeXReader

Background info: The reader is an escaped experiment from MECH. They tried to make a super human but failed, this is for the optimus one.

Also, reader is an avian. I think it fits better. Also, this is what a avian looks like.

Optimus

Optimus was minding his own business. He was following an energon single intel he came across a massive trap laid out by MECH.

Inside he found reader.

He was amazed since he never seen a human with feathers or wings.

He definitely noticed how they acted like a bird. Meaning reader ruffled up their feather's, and tried to make themselves bigger.

Like an owl.

How an owl dose it

He talks calmy to it and frees it.

Reader takes this chance to fly away.

Optimus was surprised, worried, and sad that reader flue away but he hopes to find them again

Weeks past and optimus starts to find strange objects right outside of the base

Broken beer peices, rings, cans, even an engergon crystal once.

When he stayed up late to catch the intruder, he finds reader.

She was the one bringing the stuff to the base.

Optimus takes this opportunity to try to help and earn trust from the reader.

It takes a Hella long time.

But reader comes when optimus calls them and will actally bring him things he lost.

Even ancient objects that reader can carry.

Wheeljack

When wheeljack was captured by the decepticons he was brought into Knockouts lab.

(Shockwave wasent in the story yet)

While he hanged there, he noticed movement from the corner of his optic.

When he looks over, he finds reader looking at him curious from her contaner.

Wheeljack was definitely surprised since he knows humans don't look like giant turkeys.

He tries to talk to it, but reader just dose clicks and chirps.

When wheeljack has the ability to knockout...knockout...ya

He takes this chance to grab the container reader is in and runs out of the decepticon warship.

Once back at his jackhammer, he opens the container and reader quickly flies off.

Wheeljack definitely will tell the autobots but pains no mind to reader.

She's free, no longer in danger, no longer his problem.

After a couple of weeks after the incident, wheeljack flies off earth to find more autobots.

That's when he hears wierd noises at the back of the jackhammer.

He goes back to investigate. Preparing since it could be a con.

But he finds reader, making nest out of his tools.

He is surprised but tries to talk to reader.

He is surprised when reader hands him a can.

He learns quickly that shiny is readers favorite thing.

Ratchet

Ratchet was going thru the internet at base, looking for any spotting of weird things.

Like ancient shit.

That's when he came across a article about a moth/bird person.

He knew humans made up alot of woerd story's to scare there kind.

He would have dismissed it, if it wasent for the fact in the picture, this moth/bird thing had a necklace.

An ancient cybertronian artifact.

He looks at all the spotting and narrow it down in a forest in south America.

He takes a portal there, since he thinks he can handle this alone.

After a few hours of searching, he finds the necklace...with a bunch of other shiny stuff in a giant ass nest

He was amazed since all the reasurch he has done on earth life never talked about birds or anytbing making nest this big.

When he reached for the reckless, something swoops down and latches on his face.

Ratchet curses and tries to swat the thing off.

It makes a painful chirp and crashes into the ground.

When he looks at it, he is amazed to find a human...half bird?

He was amazed but seeing it hurt, he curses and helps it

He takes it to base and helps it

Que a stressful few weeks

Reader was a pain in the aft.

But ratchrt somehow earned their trust...also alot of shiny nick-nacks on his keybord.

Megatron

Megatron met reader when he captured a human and gave it to Shockwave.

Ordering him to make a hybrid.

Weeks later, Shockwave presents reader. A half bird and human hybrid.

Megatron wasent happy that it was dangerous but dosent kill it.

Nah, it's his pet.

Soon, reader gets out of the warship and dose there own thing.

Soon returning with shiny stuff they find.

They made a nest up high in the throne room

Megatron was annoyed by that but it dosent interfere with his planes so leaves it alone.

Soon, he noticed shiny things in his berthroom.

Like rings, cans, broken beer bottles, chip bags, anything shiny.

He was confused and went to Soundwave to see the recording who dared went into his berthroom

He finds reader flying in there and setting them in there.

He was confused.

Intel once day, reader returned to the ship with an artifact they just lost to the autobots.

He was amazed and actally impressed for once.

He praised reader and ordered anyone who hurts reader will lose their spark.

Reader was now a higher rank then starscrsam XD

Keigo Takami

🪶 Alright let’s be honest there is going to be a lot of bird behaviour from this individual, lucky you're both derived from hawks so you understand each others behaviours pretty well. 🪶 Keigo is forever puffing up his feathers when you first met, making himself look bigger and more suitable, it did catch your attention by nature. 🪶 Miriko made fun of him every time. 🪶 Hawks by nature mate for life, so when he decided that he was in, he was 100% in, there was nothing that could change his mind. 🪶 He’d spend a lot of time measuring wings and wrapping his wings around you, you’d do the same to him and sometimes you’d make a cocoon just for the two of you by having your wings meet in the middle. 🪶 He sings all the time, another bird thing but if you ever sing along with him, it will make him the happiest person in the world. 🪶 You guys go for flights all the time, he’d dive low to grab you anything that caught his or your eye. 🪶 You guys were two of the fastest heroes, you learned to work together covering whatever the other couldn’t and that became even more needed after his fight with Dabi. 🪶 You massaged his shoulders when he was healing, you helped him to get back up but he never stopped missing his wings. 🪶 You refused to fly without him and you were the one that helped him to relearn how to fly when he got his prosthetics. 🪶 You both have heightened senses so he’d often give you his shirts or blankets so that you would always feel him near (even if he was rarely more than 2 steps away). 🪶 You were a hero couple that was feared by villains and loved by civilians but neither of you cared about that. The only thing that was important is how much you loved each other.

Yagi Toshinori

🦸 The moment that Toshinori saw you he was enamoured, honestly he’d have seen your wings and the speed and strength that you displayed. 🦸 Challenged you to races all the time, he wanted to be the fastest but he had to admit that you had him in that department. 🦸 Toshi was playful and he had yet to be able to sneak up on you either so he tried that too, but given your enhanced senses, you could hear and smell him coming when you couldn’t see the flashy costume. 🦸 When you guys actually started dating it was a secret to no one, it was lucky that you were as good at defending yourself as you were because there were just as many villains as fans trying to get your attention. 🦸 Toshi came very close to ending the relationship when a villain came after you to get to him, you had to tell him that you weren’t having it and literally slapped him round the back of his head to get him to listen. 🦸 Toshi would literally carry you anywhere the extra weight from your wings didn’t bother him at all but he did love being wrapped in them when you both had the time. 🦸 Gran Torino would sometimes enlist you to get Toshinori to do something because you both knew that it was better for him. 🦸 You were the only one that could get him to sit still after he was injured by One For All. 🦸 Toshi spent all of this time bringing you presents, anything that you could ever want, even things you didn’t know you wanted like kids (Midorya and Bakugo). 🦸 Now with his smaller stature he loved your wings even more, he hid in them when he didn’t want to be seen, made sure that they were groomed and taken care of. 🦸 Toshi made sure that you always laid on top of him, even after he was injured (much to your protest) because he would not have you lay on your wings no matter how many times you tell him that you can support your own weight. 🦸 Definition of a celebrity couple, you guys were what everyone strived to be, happy together, playful, easy and completely dedicated to each other.

Shota Aizawa

🐛 Shota was probably the last person that anyone expected you to take an interest in but after one mission he couldn’t seem to get rid of you and to be honest he didn’t mind having you around. 🐛 You were the one that did most of the work, just trying to get him to look at you for more than a second but once he really looked he was a goner. 🐛 You used your wings to shield him from the sunlight while he was sleeping during the day or the cold in the winter. 🐛 Shota is a mindful human and often found himself dancing around you in the first few months of your relationship, making sure not to touch your wings and apologising when he did, it took a long while to convince him that it was okay. 🐛 The first time that you asked him to help with grooming your wings, you thought he was going to faint. 🐛 He teaches you how to use a capture weapons and you taught him how to use your weapons. He took to yours faster than you took to his. He's unbelievably adaptable but he admired the strength and agility that came with your power. 🐛 You were well into your relationship by the time that 1-A came along, so a lot of them knew of you but they didn’t know that you were dating/married to their teacher until the first villain attack when you made yourself known. 🐛 Neither of you had ever talked about having children but you ended up with 20 the day that you saved them. 🐛 You moved into the dorms with Aizawa and basically mothered the entire class, scolded them, praised them and protected them no matter what. Aizawa loved watching you with them. 🐛 When he brought Eri back, you both became her sworn protectors and he didn’t even have to ask when he put you both down as her legal guardians. 🐛 While Shota was teaching you were out doing hero work so when it came time to fight you were always called on and he always worried about you while you were gone. 🐛 You were a large mismatched family but it centred around the two of you, anyone could see that you loved each other and protect your little flock.

Cassian isn't a dudebro or a snarky loveable jock - That's what the ic think of him. That's what Feyre knows. That's what the reader is supposed to think of him.

Here's what he actually is : a Fae, bigger than any human, with bat-like wings and armour. He is 500 years old, a warrior and a general, and one of the most powerful of his spieces history has ever seen.

Nesta isn't a viper or a bitch or someone "needs to be pushed/ put in her place/ can take it"

She's : 23, grew up on the border to Prythian and heard all her life about towns just like hers being utterly destroyed over night. A woman who lost her sister to Fae. A person who must now somehow accept that her sister is one of those Fae. She's a human working with and harbouring Fae - even though it puts her and everyone in the house in danger.

He makes the first move to be confrontational with her so Nesta ignores him but he keeps pressing so she fights back the only way she knows how - words that hurt.

He uses his physical size to press her when he loses the battle of words and wits. Personally, I'd be terrified of a man with this sort of habit.

Then he slowly wins her over, quietly, piece by piece she puts her trust in him. Because he is all of those things.

He can't save her the first time - in Hybern - and she has to adjust to what's happened while protecting Elain the only way she knows how.

But suddenly there's this new element of being seen - something that didn't exist when he'd get too close in her study - and it's Cassian who is backing away as she is reaching for him, moving just when he'd convinced her to lean her weight into him.

So Nesta straightens again, plants her feet - the only way she knows how. She's busy fighting to survive her own mind and body and here comes Cassian again - not in front of his family and friends, always alone when he wants to push her and coax her.

Why the fck would I root for this ship?

SJM saying Nesta could bring Cassian to his knees with words or portraying his emotional pain as so great doesn't mean anything to me. He's not a child. He's not a young man. He's 500 years old! He has murdered dozens if not hundreds. I really don't give a flying fck that he's sensitive about being a bastard.

Seek therapy since the IC wanna act like psychologists and psychiatrists all the time.

ITTSSSSS TIMEEEEEE for bachelors yapping time continues! Imma be going over what I think should change about the bachelors after you marry them :3 this will all be going off the assumption that there is now a 20 heart limit and 1-3 additional cutscenes

Spoilers for stardew relationships btw

Alr first my favorite bachelor: Alex. I’m thinking although Alex always stays in shape he does give up on his dreams of being a professional grid ball player, buttttt I think it would be really nice if he starts a workout club for the dudes fr, where they work on personal fitness, getting stronger, and now Harvey could have a place to get fitter while feeling less embarrassed! Maybe when he starts it you get a little quest to gather stuff to make workout equipment and he uses an additional wing of your house to do so. I also think it would be nice if he starts working as a gridball commentator so that he can still enjoy his favorite spot. A cutscene for both of these ideas would be nice

Next is our favorite recoverin alcoholic: SHANE I personally love Shane so much he’s amazing. I think as you progress your relationship with Shane he could help Pam get her addiction under control. Of course though, his main pursuit after he marries you would be the chickens! I’m thinking he would either join Marnie at the ranch and start helping out there or he could be the “coopmaster” at your farm, and he could do the same thing as an autopetter and auto grabber, but all eggs harvested by him would be one quality grade higher, and if you have blue chickens they would produce “Blue Eggs”, which would sell for a lot more and produce “Blue Mayo”, which could be a loved gift for Shane and maybe Jas. His new cutscenes could be a scene where a blue chicken lays the first blue egg and a scene where he talks to Pam about addiction.

Now we got Elliot. The weird thing about Elliot is he actually does do things after you marry him. He ends up going on a tour for his book! This is amazing but I think it could be expanded on. I’m thinking he decides to write another book about life in Pelican Town and after a while it’s a cult hit. He becomes quite famous and gets visited by paparazzi in a cutscene where he talks to you about the burden of fame but how it’s all worth it with you by his side (aww). You could also after that get fan mail delivered to your mailbox? Could be fun and maybe another secret could be added from that. In addition to all that, I think marrying Elliot could give you an exclusive book power? I don’t have any ideas specifically but that would make sense ✨

Harvey: Harvey, after you marry him, would still work at the hospital, but he would no longer charge you for services like reviving you, and you would have a special cutscene where he tells you “you make me worry about you too much when you go into the mines” “I love you too much” or something like that. I also think that he would start talking to the people who fly above the valley and begin to be known as the Stardew Valley Navigator, and maybe you would meet one of the pilots and he would take Harvey for a ride in the plane :3 also I feel like as his relationship with you progressed he would no longer love coffee because he isn’t overworking himself so much :D other ideas include a slight health increase when married to Harvey and maybe a scene where he impresses the A.S.S trio with his knowledge of jazz

Alright next up is Sam! First up, I think Sam needs to start getting bigger with his music. After you reach 16 hearts, he should get an offer from a minor record company who really liked his sound in the “Happy Junimo Show” soundtrack. They offer a deal where he sells them one single and if it works out they could get him signed. You receive three choices for the genre, and he submits it and waits. A week later, he hears back from the company, who really enjoyed it and offer him a contract. This leads to another cutscene at 18 hearts where he performs his first single as the opener for a music festival. After that, you can always hear that first single on Sam’s boombox. Sam brings you up on stage and says “This song is dedicated to my amazing partner, [name]”, and the cutscene ends.

Sebastian: Sebastian is too edgy bro but I’ll make this shit work lemme lock in rq

Sebastian, of course, starts to breed frogs! I think that could be really cool if you could get a cutscene where you now have a frog that roams the farm looking cute, maybe collecting mixed seeds and fiber and delivering it to you while you’re in bed? I’m going to be so fr I can’t think of stuff for him lol he’s a lot harder ngl… Maybe a garage addition to the house? Where he works on his motorcycle once a week?Ngl this is mid he’s too emo lol LMK IF YOU HAVE BETTER IDEAS

Ye Olde Magick AU Part II: More Houses

As always: thank @books-n-guns for the existence of this AU :D Basic lore (and the first bunch of houses): X Without further ado, have some more houses~!

The Arryns: Wings, wings, wings. They have the most beautiful feathered wings you'll ever lay eyes on and back muscles because damn their wings are heavy. They need special oils and soaps, and are almost constantly grooming. And they have echo voices (X). If the song Hallelujah existed in ASOIAF they would own it. The skies of the Vale always has at least one Arryn or one of it's cadet houses The Boltons: Like books-n-guns says, they're vampires with an interest in blood magic. Legend says the Boltons actually used to be able to shed their whole skin—and I mean their whole skin—until one Bolton got into blood magic and suddenly vampires. The northern weather is perfect for them. The Mormonts: Werebears! Werebears! Werebears! You think Bear Island was named after the bears that inhabit it? No. It's the werebears of House Mormont. Were as wild looking as the Starks of old just bear themed; claws and teeth and fangs and thicker hair, and were generally bigger and stronger. Now they're just strong. Lady Maege Mormont can still crush a man's head between her hands.

The Tarths: Giants. For some reason the magic has been absent from their bloodline for a few years until Brienne was born. While not as big as her ancestors, Brienne is still big and has great strength. She didn't defeat those who had a bet on her maidenhead so much as she sent them flying. People held score cards. Loras was sweating in his armour and allowed Brienne to grapple him instead shut up you drunken archer of my family I allowed it because I didn't want to fucking die. The Hightowers: Flame hair. Think Hades from Hercules. It's safe to the touch and doesn't set anything on fire...unless the Hightower it's attached to wants it. Just like when they turn the beacon's fire green to call their bannerman, a Hightower's hair can turn green at will. Please imagine Alicent entering the room not only in her green dress, but with flickering green flame hair. The Baelishs: Fiery eyes. Look up Lucifer Morningstar red eyes and you get what I'm imagining, though the pupils are a glowing flame coloured. It's hard to look like a friendly and powerless man to be underestimated by all the high lords with these eyes, but Littlefinger manages it. The Greyjoys: Krackens. Honestly I'm just imagining a kracken version of Davey Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean. But they can only get that form when wet with seawater. Can remain in that form so long as a part of their body is still in seawater. Rare times does it skip a member of the family, so sorry Aeron. The Karstarks: Since they are a cadet branch of the Starks they also benefitted from the same wolf magic—however instead of fangs they've got the claws. Sharp and deadly, the Karstarks are best at being frontline fighters where even if they lose their swords they can still maul a bitch. No, seriously, they will maul someone with their claws. They have mauled people with their claws. Rumors say they use grindstones to keep their claws nice and sharp. The Freys: Trolls, specifically bridge trolls. And not the dependable kind that they used to be back in the day. Still having that weasel look to them, they have granite skin that makes normal swords break against them and above-human strength, thus still making them the most powerful bannermen of House Tully. The Reeds: Lizard-lions or frogs. Actually, nobody really knows what the Reeds are—not now or back in the past. Not even Ned knows what Howland Reed looked like because he kept his entire person covered from the top of his head to his hands to his feet. The only thing he saw was a super long tongue jab hard at Arthur's neck that killed the knight and save him. And that's what I've got for now. Again ideas of other houses are welcome!

Linked Universe Winged Au Headcanons:

Time - I briefly went over this in the Preening post I made a little while back, but Time is oftentimes kind of the "safety net" for the other boys. Whether it's helping them hide from the wrath of the other members of the group or simply staying awake through the night to make sure they rest, Time is always there to support and catch his boys whenever and however they need him. However, he very rarely is the one to initiate physical contact and prefers to simply wait for the others to come to him. This is because he can have a tendency to be a bit overbearing and overprotective, and after the incident with Wind, he's had to learn to step back a little and trust that his boys will come to him when they need him. Because of this, he only initiates contact when he deems it absolutely necessary. He's also got the biggest wings in the group by far which makes him perfect for cuddles and an excellent shield from the rest of the world for those hidden beneath them.

I also headcanon that he secretly really hates the rain. He may have the Song of Storms at his beck and call, but it turns out that giant, soggy wings combined with heavy armor isn't very pleasant to try to travel, fly, or fight with. However, despite his own general dislike of the rain, he does not hesitate to sacrifice himself and his wings to be an umbrella of sorts for others in the group, especially the younger ones.

He's also VERY good at climbing trees. The guy grew up in a magic forest with a giant tree for a dad of COURSE he's good at climbing trees. The first time he beat Wild in a race left the rest of the group in complete and utter awe. He may be the oldest of the Links, but he's still got plenty of tricks up his sleeves.

Twilight - Twilight is the ultimate big brother and no you cannot change my mind. However, this means that he does have the big brother tendency to give noogies whenever he hugs people and overall just abuses his larger size to flop all over the others. Basically imagine that scene with Nani in Lilo & Stitch where she falls on top of Lilo claiming that gravity was increasing on her. That scene combined with the energy from large dogs who are convinced that they are actually lap dogs. That's Twilight. He's got a lot of love to give and often makes great efforts to ensure that everyone gets it regardless of their protests or if they actually want it at the moment. However, even though he does tend to show his affection in sometimes sillier ways, he can be very serious and will not hesitate to either push the others out of harms way or literally pull them closer under his wings when needed. In other words, while he's a bit of an overgrown puppy at times, he's also got a powerful bite to match his bark.

As for random headcanons, I headcanon that whenever Twilight gets wet he has a subconscious tendency to shake out his hair and/or wings like a dog. Gone for a swim? Shake. Coming inside to get out of the rain? Shake. Someone threw a bucket of water at him? Shake. While overall a harmless quirk, it has resulted in a lot of laughing (Wild) and cursing (Legend) from the others. He always tries to claim that he does it because he's just trying to get an early start on preening and drying off (no one believes him).

Sky - Sky is an absolute MASTER when it comes to cuddling. No one can resist his charm and those that try often find themselves gently persuaded under his wings regardless. He's got very large, fluffy wings that make cuddling ideal and has a tendency to "scoop" the others under his wings. He also has a habit of treating everyone who comes to him as his, "baby birds" regardless of their age or size. While it is very cute to see younger members like Wind or Hyrule tucked under his wings, it does make for a very funny sight when he does it to Time or Warriors. On top of that, Sky is also well known for his "magic wings" that can make anyone fall asleep when huddled beneath them.

A silly little headcanon I have about Sky is that he oftentimes "fluffs up" whenever he wakes up or falls asleep. It usually makes his hair, wings, and overall appearance appear very disheveled and the others like to tease him for it, especially since he's one of the main Links who insists on preening the others.

He also really likes fish. No other explanation for it other than he never had the chance to try it before leaving Skyloft and is equally fascinated and horrified by all the different varieties.

Warriors - I headcanon that he's not actually a huge cuddler the majority of the time! However, he does secretly love it whenever Time silently pulls him under his wings. This is because I believe Warriors generally has a hard time asking for help due to his history as a military leader where any sign of weakness can risk causing doubt or disloyalty within troops. On top of that, he also has the, "I'm the hero" complex which means that he generally prefers to help and comfort others rather than ask for help or comfort in return. Because of this, he loves it when the others (especially Wind) come to him and tuck themselves into his side because he gets to feel needed while still secretly finding and receiving comfort in return. The rest of the group know this, so they often purposefully position themselves near him to subtly help him whenever they can tell he's especially stressed or upset.

I headcanon that Warriors is actually an excellent musician, especially when it comes to the violin. Everyone always talks about how Legend is an excellent musician, but I feel like no one considers the possibility of other members of the group also having musical talents. Also he's a momma's boy. You take one look at that man and tell me you DON'T think he was a momma's boy. In this essay I will-

Legend - Legend is a prickly little shit when it comes to cuddling. He generally pretends that he doesn't like it when in reality his inner child is SCREAMING for someone to look after him for a change. However, instead of confronting those emotions like a mature individual he usually chooses to project them onto the younger members of the group instead. He's been nicknamed the "broody hen" of the group for this behavior as it often results in him being especially prickly and almost possessive of the others, especially Hyrule and Wind. However, when he IS forcibly pulled under wing he has a tendency to essentially "burrow" like a rabbit into the other persons side. He does in fact, hate that he does this as it reminds him of his "cowardly bunny heart" but the others all secretly find it adorable.

Legend's handwriting is HORRIBLE. He may be able to SPEAK several languages, but writing them is a whole other story. I also headcanon that this is due in part to him developing some sort of hand tremor that started when he and his ship got blasted with lightning in Links Awakening. He's trained himself to not let it affect his fighting skills, but writing is ROUGH.

Hyrule - Hyrule absolutely soaks up physical affection like a sponge. He's basically been alone his entire life and has had countless monsters chasing him for his blood for the majority of his life let him have his rest and hugs. Because of this, he absolutely adores cuddling and being cuddled in return! However, even though he loves it when others comfort and preen him, he finds it a bit frustrating that the others don't often come to him for comfort in return. He knows that they (usually) won't hesitate to come to him whenever they need his magic for physical healing, but it does hurt his feelings a bit that they don't often come to him for emotional healing. He's a bit like Wind in that regard where he wishes that they would trust him more.

As for silly headcanons, I'm a firm believer that Hyrule would eat sidewalk chalk if given the opportunity. I can't exactly explain why, but I feel like he would because he believes that sidewalk chalk and Smarties taste the same.

Wild - Wild is a bit of a complicated case in the way that he will gratefully accept any and all hugs and cuddles, but rarely asks for them. Listen, the guy may be able to speak after losing all his memories but some more personal things like asking for help are still a work in progress. Because of this, he loves it when other people are able to read him and determine his needs simply from what they see. However, because he loves this so much he will sometimes purposefully act out or behave in such a way that he knows will get the others to fuss over him rather than simply ask for cuddles. This is usually expressed in his preening habits or his general rough housing and teasing with the other members of the group.

I headcanon that he occasionally dreams of his past life before the Calamity. He very rarely actually remembers what it is his brain was trying to show him, so it often leaves him more upset than before he went to sleep because he feels like a failure for, "forgetting them twice."

On a less angstier note, I also headcanon that he would be stupidly good at Legos. Like, you know those kids that would build everything EXCEPT what they were "supposed" to build with the sets they received? That's exactly how Wild would be.

Four - Four is NOT a big fan of physical affection despite the others many attempts. He's a very independent person and often feels overwhelmed or claustrophobic when the others try to pull him in too close. The rest of the group have found that the best way to show physical affection towards him is through pats on the back/shoulders and hair ruffles rather than the usual flurry of feathers and hands. However, Four does love cuddling when he's split into well...Four individuals. He's much more comfortable cuddling with his other counterparts (and shadow) so it's a big adjustment getting used to the rest of the group all also trying to get close. He is getting better though! Right now his favorites are Time and Warriors because they keep to themselves and don't ask any hard questions.

I headcanon that Four is just perpetually cold. This guy does NOT handle the cold well and always has frozen toes and hands. The others complain about this often because he likes to touch them with his frozen limbs. Time is the most frequent victim of this.

Wind - This guy LOVES any and all kinds of physical affection EXCEPT for preening. He finds a lot of comfort in others tucking him under their wings and looking out for him, but hates it when others underestimate or try to coddle him because of it. He also finds a lot of joy in being a source of comfort for the others because he loves feeling needed and getting opportunities to be a "big" brother makes him feel like a real hero. As a warning though, he does have a tendency to tackle his victims he wants to cuddle with and even occasionally succeeds in full on knocking them over. He also kicks in his sleep. Sky discovered this the hard way.

As for other headcanons, I saw someone who reblogged one of my polls said that he puffs his feathers up a lot to appear bigger or more intimidating because he's seen it work with Time and Twilight. So yes, he does do this it's canon now but it's not very effective.

I also headcanon that Wind tends to flap his wings repeatedly whenever he gets really excited! It is very cute but there have also been many causalities as a result of this.

Bonus:

Ravio - He LOVES physical affection and has quite literally broken down Legend's house and emotional walls. He also frequently mimics sounds and voices and yes he does use this to bother Legend. Legend no longer trusts the sound of knocking because he assumes it's just Ravio messing with him. The tax collectors trying to contact him were not amused.

Personally, I love the idea of wings. I really like Diavolo's wings, for instance. They already seem to be pretty large and I imagine him doing things like tucking them around MC protectively because there's just something so sweet about it. There's also something about having one of the winged characters holding MC while flying. Like MC would just have to trust that they won't be dropped lol.

I do think that angels might have bigger wings than demons just because it's kind of their thing, right? I mean, all angels have wings whereas some demons don't have wings and the demons that do often have different styles of wings.

However, it also depends on the point of the wings. The game indicates that the angels and demons that have wings can fly. There has to be magic involved there.

Because if flying is the goal, then they would need to have ENORMOUS wings in order to lift something the size and weight of a full grown adult. And then the person would have to be strong enough to actually flap wings of that size...

So magic would necessarily be required and since we're in a fantasy setting, that kind of goes without saying. There might be magic in the wings themselves or inherent magic in the bodies of those with wings that make flight possible. I also think it would be cool if the wings could change their size depending on how they're being used. Like if they're just out for aesthetics, they can be small, but if the person actually wants to fly, they get larger. Or maybe they also get larger if the person is angry or trying to intimidate someone...

But can you imagine Lucifer with 12 wings even when they're small?? Please, that sounds like it would be so annoying. How would he even walk around with them? I'm sure the bottom sets would be dragging on the floor. He would constantly have to avoid stepping on them. Also if they have some kind of molting situation... ah the mess! Feathers everywhere!

I think they could look cool if he was in flight and there were these twelve wings just spread out around him - in angel form all white and blinding. But otherwise I imagine they'd be a pain to deal with lol.

I do think it can also lend itself to some intimacy, especially with Lucifer. If he really has to groom his feathers, I love the idea of MC helping him with them. Especially if he doesn't normally let anyone touch them, you know? And this could go for all the others, too, really. I'm very much all for MC doing some grooming of demon/angel parts lol.

Pickwick, The Son of Batlyn and Papyrus.

And now we have the sons of Batlyn and Papyrus in alternative timelines. They are painted bats and pretty big guys. Now for their information!

Pickwick (UnderSwap)

Sweetest guy you could ever meet and not just because he smells of vanilla custard. Pickwick is a soft spoken bat who does his best to defuse terrible situations with reason and facts. Despite him being taller then his dad, Papyrus still calls him “pipsqueak”. Pickwick loves to help with anything even if it might cost his own life.

Moro (Underfell)

For a guy from a timeline where everyone is “evil”, Moro is pretty scared and shy to do anything bad at all. He has major anxiety issues and thinks of himself as a burden to nearly everyone. His wings are disabled so he can’t fly but he won’t let that get him down when he needs to be brave. He and his dad have a rocky relationship that needs working.

Radical (UnderTale)

Full of himself and cool as hell. Radical is the cool home boy of the group and likes to show off his muscles given at any chance. The hoodie around his neck actually doesn’t fit him so he wears it around his neck because he thought it’ll make him cooler looking. Despite his big ego, he’s also a sweetheart.

Hood (SwapFell)

Mysterious and dangerous are the two most used words to describe this man. Hood is more touched to his animal side then the others as he loves to make others scared of him. His face is blacked out because he doesn’t want anyone to see what he actually looks like. He does work as a fry cook at a burger place however. Oh and uh, he stinks. Stinky boy

Lens (Outertale)

If you look like a model or just happen to be in a good spot for a photo, Lens is gonna take a snap at you. Lens is a photographer and is very passionate with his work! Lens is a flirtatious, fun and overall sweet guy with a big love for how beautiful the world can be sometimes. He’s the only Pickwick who’s not living with his parents as he lives in a dorm room at his collage for photography. Lens’ floof has no gravity so it’s always floating and looks bigger then the others.

Matpat Egos with a Winged!Reader

Characters: Matpat, Madpat, Mack (crewmate/engineer/dictator), The Detective, The Hermit, Warfpat

Matpat

The minute he sees you he's all 🤨👀🧐. He's uh... Not really used to seeing entity's or hybrids or other egos, so sometimes he forgets that not everyone is human. Fully human, anyways.

He's really interested in them, though! (Even if you might take it a different way due to his facial expressions 😭) He mainly wants to study them and understand how they work, but outside of him wanting to know everything about them, he thinks they're really cool! And soft, he sometimes picks up stray feathers that have slipped for them. Is also immediately there if you mention needing help preening. I mean, c'mon! A) their soft, B) you like it and C), he likes it! I don't think he really understands that preening is usually done by uh....yk. Not new friends, let's say.

Probably asks if he can fly with you once and then starts crying the second you're both 0.1 centimeter of the ground 🙄

5/10 very helpful, but also very annoying.

Madpat

"That's cool, now if you don't mind I'm on fire and-" IM JOKING IM JOKI- He's not tho

He thinks they look amazing! He likes the markings/colours on them, and asks you about them.

The only thing he's curious about though is, how do you balance with them? They look very heavy they are and are certainly bigger than you.

As long as you're okay though, he doesn't mind!

He's heard about preening before, but has absolutely no idea what it is exactly or how it works. He reminds you about it daily, though.

He also collects the feathers that fall out, but gives them back to you instead of keeping them. Probably keeps one or two to study them, though.

He won't ever tell you this, but he is very intimated and turned on when he sees your wings stretched out at full height. Just sorta 'eeps' and scuttles away.

He's also very careful with his weapons when he's around you, since he knows that if he swings stuff around too much he could hurt you :(

Probably turns on his chainsaw every now and then and then giggles like the bastard he his when you jump

Stops after the first few times though, since sometimes you knock stuff over with your wings, and also, you have wings. He does not. You will and have suddenly flown of with him as revenge. And he knows you'll do it again.

Mack (crewmate)

You'll definitely know the first time he sees them since it'll be silent and then you'll hear a little "oh!"

He's like a little puppy and just follows you around everywhere, and it's very obvious that he has a lot of questions.

He's too nervous to ask you outright though, probably asking Celci to ask you since he knows that if he asked Mark then Mark would tease him and he'd probably die tbh-

You definitely notice that he's following/staring at you, so sometimes if you stretch n yawn you make sure to stretch your wings full height so he can see.

Also picks up feathers bro why do all of them but instead of waiting till your gone like the others, it'll be a mad scramble to get them before they hit the ground. What can I say, he's a little bit of a germaphobe.

He doesn't really know what they fully feel like, but from what he knows they're very soft and silky, you obviously take good care of them.

His favourite pastime is ruffling them so their all fluffy :)

One day when the two of you are alone you feel him staring for the bazillionth time that day, so you eventually cave and tell him he can touch them if he wants too.

Mack is processing-

When he does, he'll be so excited! And nervous. His hands are probably shaking. Eventually though he melts into it, and actually finds it very relaxing both of you. Probably turns into an accidental preening session.

Mack (Engineer)

Instantly notices, how could he not? He absolutely adores him, but acts as if they're a massive nuisance all of the time (We're not stupid, Mack-)

Cleans up your feathers after you, all the time, even though you haven't asked him too.

Sometimes you shed more on purpose because it's funny to hear him mumble stuff like "If I were Captain, I wouldn't leave feathers all over the place!" Yeah yeah sure, we know you have a big fat crush on-

Every single feather he collects, he keeps in a little cabinet in his room. If anyone where to ask he'd get very flustered, but is reasoning is "Well we can't throw them out the Airlock, littering is bad!" Uh huh, sure-

Sometimes if he's walking closely behind you, going on his rants about how he is clearly the better captain, or something else, you smack him in the face with your wings

He's so shocked help 😭- He's trying to process what happened, like yeah it hurt but how come it was so soft? What even- OH

Captain is cackling their ass down the corridor all ready, not waiting for his reaction.

He'd be so flustered for a second but then remembers 'wait I'm supposed to hate them' and just storms off after you, yelling shit like "Captain! Ugh! They are so immature- 👹"

Calls you 'bird brain' as an insult but it eventually becomes a pet name as time passes

Mack (Dictator)

Is immediately in love with them and you the second you step onboard-

When you land, he gives you the final choice to make the 'right' decision and make him Captain.

And you know what? Yeah sure, go ahead.

Captain: *giggles* IM FREE YES FUCK YOU-

Tee hee, no. No you are not.

Anyways, his thoughts about them!

He really does think they're pretty on you, heck, you always look amazing! But... He does need you to rely on him, and knocking you a peg lower than you already were seems to do the trick :( sorry.

He's not a total monster though (🤨) and he knows how uncomfortable it can be for you to have feathers, since he'll sometimes wake up to heaps of them in your shared bed.

He'll also preen them for you, though he constantly tugs on your collar which can make it annoying.

Sometimes if he wakes up before you, he'll pet them gently. Will instantly scream like a girl and shove you out (and most likely off) the bed when he notices you waking up.

He also likes how they unfold and seem to shelter you two from everyone else when you two are, uh...... 😳Holding....hands...?

^He'll also tug on them if he knows it'll get a reaction out of you

Throws out the loose feathers :( What's the point of having feathers when he has the actual bird? Thing?

He loves you (🧐) but will snip them if he feels like/catches you're trying to run away too much.

The Detective

He will trail around with you, but unlike Mack, and unfortunately for you, will asks lots of questions. And I mean a lot of them. Writes down everything you say in his goofy little notebook 😭

Also calls you 'bird brain', but it comes out more teasing and friendly than derogatory.

*sighs* keeps your feathers. Probably has a separate journal with all of them in there, yk how some people do those flower stamp journals?

Claims it's for 'research' or 'evidence' like bestie the only 'evidence' I'm seeing is how much of a simp you are-

Is a lot more touchy than the other egos, probably just immediately holding them and being like 🧐😳🤨 whether or not you're comfortable of people touching them 😭

Preens them for you, but he does ask first though. However, if your wings were really dirty and not taken care of, he'd sit your ass down straight away and start-

Probably puts on gloves when they're dirty because he's a dramatic ass bitch-

Sometimes when he feels really tired and just wants to go home he'll make 'little' hints like "y/n would it be odd if you gave us the answer to this puzzle" or "y/n wouldn't it be so funny if you just flew of with the strongman rn haha" yeah no sorry bestie

Yk how sometimes ppl do the thing where they ruffle someone's hair? Yeah he does that but with your wings because he has a teensy tiny theory that it's practically the same thing. it's not, don't tell him tho

Yeah if you got jumpscared you'd probs accidentally smack him in the face with them since he's always like. The closest person in your general vicinity.

Sometimes if you two cuddle you wrap them around the both of you like a blanket and let him pet it :)

Poor guy just needs to lie down, yk that image of a pathetic looking kitten with milk spilt all over it's face yes that is him 24/7

He loves you tho :)

The Hermit

Oh you'll be wanting to stay away from him 24/7.

It's not that he'll actually hurt you, it's just a general vibe, and the fact he keeps making little comments that imply he wants to roast and eat you.

He doesn't get social cues though, having lived by himself for so long, so he probably doesn't get that it's coming across that way or why you look so scared 😭

He is super affectionate towards you, practically begging to preen you despite probably having no idea how to do it.

You have to show him 😭 you also do his hair! Bro's been living in a cave for god knows how long, you can't tell me he doesn't have random stuff in it.

He won't keep your feathers, although if you were to give him one he'd do something silly like tuck it behind his ear :)

He also keeps one on a necklace, kinda like how he has that mini skull :D

Is overall super affectionate and friendly, despite everything else about him practically screaming "sketchy" and the fact he never seems to want you to leave his cave or side

He doesn't really have a lot of questions about you tbh, instead just pinning it as 'the many beauties of nature'. He does find them fascinating though, and tells you so every so often.

Headcanons about my versions of Nightmare and Jonathan.

Jonathan is still teaching at Gotham University, when he takes a trip back to his hometown on summer vacation one year. Now I should probably note that my verse is build upon pre-crisis and since Jonathan's family was never talked about then, I think it's fair game to headcanon whatever and I headcanon that they were okay, actually. He grew up in a rural town not far from Gotham. He's the middle child of a big family where money was tight.

On his visit he decides to go for a walk in the forests where he used to hide from his bullies. Suddenly he hears children. He's already about to turn back, until he hears something else. A gun shot. A gun shot and the cry of a bird. Jonathan takes no interest in birds, but he can recognize the cry of a raven. He knows they live in the vast forrests of his hometown and that the townsfolk hate them. The general opinion is that they are pests and should all be killed. Jonathan had no opinion on the matter, not until now. A child screams in pain, asking his sister for help. Jonathan moves towards the sound. He hears the flapping of wings and desperate cries and then... nothing. Finally he sees the children, but they can't see him. There is a dead raven at their feet, another one a little further away, next to a big tree. The very tree Jonathan would climb to get away from his bullies. Both children are covered in bad cuts from sharp talons and a powerful beak. The raven by the tree must have been shot first, which led the other to attack. It's life had ended from a blown from a heavy rock, which lay besides it's body. One of the children starts to climb the tree, says something about finishing the job. She climbs back down with a nest under her arm and takes it to her brother, who's already waiting with a rock in hand. Jonathan is frozen to the spot. The scene has taken him back to when it was him being hunted in this forest. The girl places the nest down, three ravens huddle together terrified. The boy holds the rock over the nest, about to drop it. Jonathan is frozen no more. He jumps out of the bushes scaring the children. The rock falls, but a little to the side of where it was intented. As the children disappear into the forrest, Jonathan turns to look at the carnage. For a moment these birds he never cared about, these birds he would've scared just for fun, shared his pain. He considers burying them, to soothe his guilty conscience for not acting sooner. Not realizing these birds were as bullied as he was and that he played a part in that bullying by doing nothing. Then suddenly one of the chicks moves. The rock had missed it. Jonathan's heart skips a beat. He wraps the bird in a napkin and picks it up. He can bury the dead later, what's important right now is that Nightmare lives.

He takes Nightmare back to Gotham with him. He reads everything he can find about ravens and how to take care of one, takes him to the vet, does everything he can. I think it would be quite new and strange for Jonathan to be taking care of someone. The fact that someone, even if it was ”just a bird” relied on him just to survive to the next day was a responsibility he'd never had before and it scared him. There was this tiny fragile new life sound asleep in his lap who trusted him blindly. Trusted his life to someone as untrustworthy as Jonathan. He wondered if he could really do this. He would think of all the animals he had experimented on, sentient beings, beings capable of feeling pain, beings that did not deserve that. He was scared he wasn't good enough for this, that he might hurt Nightmare somehow. But there was no need to fear such things, as even if Jonathan wasn't perfect, even if he did make mistakes, he always did his best and that was good enough. Nightmare was growing bigger and stronger everyday.

Once Jonathan's summer vacation was over and Nightmare had learned to fly, he would follow Jonathan to the university. What a field day it was for Jonathan's bullies, who were always looking for new things to make fun of him for, to see him talking to raven. But it didn't matter, because the joy Nightmare brought to Jonathan's life far out weighted the odd looks his collegues and students gave him.

Yet despite how much Jonathan loved Nightmare, despite everything he did for Nightmare, he never actually intented for Nightmare to become his pet. After his peers all the way from kindergarden to university had drilled it into his head that he was utterly unlikable, it was hard to believe that anyone, not even an animal, would willingly choose to be around him. But Jonathan had no idea how to care for an animal without turning it into a pet. He was giving Nightmare little kissies on the head from day one. And so when the day came when NIghtmare was fully grown and Jonathan, holding back tears, opened the window for him, letting him go, Nightmare didn't understand. To him this was no different from any other time Jonathan opened the window for him to go stretch his wings. He looked outside, saw that it was raining and kind of cold and flew back on the nice warm couch. At that moment it became clear Nightmare was here to stay.

And Nightmare became his first friend, his lifeline. For even in his darkest moments after losing his job, after losing everything, it was Nightmare that kept him going. Nightmare and the unquenchable thirst for revenge that kept him alive despite all.

Something that's different in my verse is that Jonathan doesn't use Nightmare as a minion like in canon. He cares for Nightmare's safety and doesn't put him in dangerous situations. I think he let him tag along for his first few crimes as Scarecrow, but would quickly notice it's unsafe. Nightmare attacked everyone who tried to hurt Jonathan and in turn put himself in danger. That's where Jonathan said no. Nightmare is his son, not a weapon. He started leaving Nightmare home when he went out as Scarecrow and if he would not return, Nightmare knew to head to Arkham.

He stays at Arkham with Jonathan. On the grounds, of course, since no animals are allowed in. Nightmare is the only reason Jonathan even goes outside at Arkham, as it is the only place they can meet (though Jonathan does sometimes try to sneak him in, but Jeremiah tends to catch him in the act). Nightmare has also learned Jonathan's daily schedule and all the windows at Arkham. He knows which window he can see Jonathan through at any time of the day. He also gets anxious if schedules are swiched around and he can't find Jonathan. Sometimes Nightmare will also fly back to Jonathan's hideout and bring little gifts like hay to him.

Nightmare, like all ravens, is very clever. Jonathan likes to tell people that Nightmare is trained to peck people's eyes out, just so they'd leave him and Nightmare alone, but that's a lie. As previously stated, Nightmare does attack if he sees Jonathan being hurt, but is not trained to do so. He is, however, taught much more important things like giving little kisses with his beak or doing a little pirouette. Since ravens are really good at mimicing, he knows a few words like ”hello” and his own name, which he likes to repeat a lot. That's not all of course, because Nightmare won't stop at mimicing just human language, he will also mimic any kind of noise. After spending a weekend at Jervis' place, he learned to mimic dial-up internet noises (my verse takes place in the 90s.) People always jump a little when they hear Nightmare speak for the first time (which amuses Jonathan to no end), but get used to it after a while. They will hear the most ungodly noises in the dead of night and go: ”Ah, Nightmare is feeling silly again ^_^.”

Nightmare is about seven years old now and his favorite hobbies include playing with a bouncy ball and getting kisses from Jonathan. Since ravens are so smart, Jonathan wonders if Nightmare remembers what happened to his family, but whether he does or not, it doesn't seem to weigh him down. He's very happy and content with his life with Jonathan.

The Main 6 Weddings

I needed some fluff ^--^

Asra’s Wedding

Not so much an official wedding, but a celebration of your devotion to each other where everyone has been invited to enjoy and celebrate with you. When you talked about it together, he already knew when it should happen. Only on the day with everyone there did he finally explain that it was as close to the anniversary of the first day you met that he could remember

Of course it happens out at the village in Nopal near and around his other home

Nadia took as much initiative as she was permitted to provide for everyone that could attend. She wanted to make sure her friend’s had a wonderful memory

Julian played a cover of ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran as you both shared a dance at sunset, the sky and clouds bathed in a literal rainbow of color

Faust was both flower girl and ring bearer, and of course she was adorable and just the most perfect girl she’s always been

Portia and Muriel helped to provide the most lush and beautiful plants to decorate. They even asked some of the Nopal locals to help with some lovely succulents so that it could blend everything together

Nadia’s Wedding

Initially she wanted something small, but with six siblings, her parents, friends, and other nobles wanting to attend, it’s gonna be bigger than she planned. She can’t be too upset though, because at the end of the day, you’ll finally be married

The day of the ceremony, all her sisters whisk you away to get ready. The outfits must be perfect, and each of them help to decorate your arms, legs, chest, back, and shoulders with beautiful wedding henna and small jewels for accents

It took place in a large gazebo in a lovely corner of the garden, surrounded by flowers from every place she could import from

Portia pulled double duty as both Maid of Honor and Flower girl, something she was ecstatic about. Chandra took responsibility for the rings, and later gave her blessing by giving both of you a pair of lovely feathers, one from each wing to symbolize how it took both of you working together to catch the wind and fly

Julian played ‘I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing’ for your first dance just after sundown, and surrounded by so many candles and flowers

While Asra and Muriel had mostly kept to the sidelines during the bustle of activity, both came up to share blessings and well wishes before the end of the night

Julian’s Wedding

Nobody was shocked to learn it would of course be a wedding at sea, but the real surprise was that Nadia volunteered one of the most lovely and luxurious Vesuvian vessels to host the celebration

Everyone kind of assumed that being an actual captain, that Mazelinka wouldn’t mind officiating, but she didn’t want that kind of responsibility when she’d rather be busy being proud of you both

Even after you’d accepted his proposal, he still had those thoughts that you might back out, all the way up until you’d finished walking down the isle and took hold of his hands. Just seeing the joy and excitement reflected in your eyes had him easily forgetting he’d ever been worried in the first place

Portia was the best planner, and took immediate lead of everything. What can she say? She adores her brother just as much as he does her, and to know he was finally happy, she just had to make sure herself that everything was gonna be perfect!

Initially, Julian wanted to play something, until he was reminded that he couldn’t exactly play while dancing with you properly. That’s okay though, because Nadia had a lovely grand piano set up and played a beautiful cover of ‘All I Ask of you’ for your first dance

Rather than put a lot of pressure on Malak, Pepi was in charge of bearing one of the two rings during the ceremony. And no one’s sure how, but Portia managed to get Malak to wear a tiny bow tie for the event

Portia’s Wedding

Long story short, yes, Julian was devastated you two didn’t wait until getting back to get married, and he did cry about it, but all that matters now is that you and Portia plan on having an actual ceremony, and he can do even more crying there if he wants to XDDD

Really, you two could have chosen anywhere to have the ceremony. The palace gardens, the ballroom, at sea, or hell, just about any destination as Nadia would have been happy to assist with it. But when you really gave it some thought, the fields around Portia’s cottage made the most sense. It’s a beautiful location, plus it really saved on the flower budgets!

Just about everyone in the palace was jumping to help in some way, and he’d never admit it outright, but Asra may have called in a favor and asked Selasi to raid the palace kitchens so everyone could have small loaves of your beloved pumpkin bread to have with dinner

Julian labored for days before the ceremony to try figuring out the right song to play for you both. IT HAD TO BE SPECIAL!! THIS WAS PASHA’S DAY!!! Thankfully, he finally settled on ‘Stand By Me’

Nadia was so proud to be named Maid of Honor, and Asra was more than happy to be the one giving you away

Legends still persist of the grand food fight that was started when the happy couple got a little too over-excited when feeding each other some of the large and elaborate cake

Muriel’s Wedding

He really didn’t want to make much of a deal about things, but after everything you two had done for both Vesuvia and the world, there’s no way he was getting out of having at least something of an event out of this

By Nadia’s blessing, Asra got his wish and was the one to officiate. I mean, how could he not? Just telling you two how happy he was that the two most important people in his life had found love together wasn’t anywhere near enough for him!

Nadia sent help to gather as many Southerly artisans as she could to assist in decorations and food that would replicate or give more of a feeling of being similar to those of the Kokhuri people

While the ceremony itself was held just on the edge of the woods you both now called home, the rest of the celebration was held in the vast, golden fields behind the palace. The location was more than enough room for the event, and even with a bunch of people there, it was open enough and quiet to let Muriel feel not so crowded

Inanna was just the most perfect flower girl ever, especially with the little flower crown Portia made for her to wear

Much to the shock of many, Julian was not only allowed to attend, but he was also allowed to contribute as well. He played ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love With You’ for your first dance

Lucio’s Wedding

You’d almost think it was his first wedding with how excited he was, but it’s just too damn cute when most of the time you try asking about something and his only reply is a very dreamy ‘...you really said yes...!’

True to form, he calls in only the best florists, decorators, bakers, chefs, and tailors. Some of them were even the same ones he’d enlisted to help with his wedding to Nadia, so they had at least some idea of what they were getting into

Everyone was especially shocked when he was open to letting Morga come, but she outright refused to give him away with any sort of dignity (she’d offered to carry him over her shoulder and dump him on his ass at the altar), so Nadia agreed to do it

It took some time, and a lot of talking things through, but Julian agreed to play at your wedding. It’ll take a lot longer, and there’s a lot to work through, but he can hardly contest Nadia and Asra’s first hand experience with Lucio’s new direction in life. He played a lovely cover of ‘Go The Distance’ for your first dance

Portia was still skeptical of Lucio from everything she’d heard happened to Nadia before she was hired on, but during their talks, she spotted Pepi getting along well with him, and figured she could at least give him a chance. She worked with a jeweler at the palace help weave some gold chains and jewels into some beautiful flower collars for M&M for the ceremony

For probably the first time ever, Mercedes and Melchior were the absolute perfect babies Lucio insisted they always were. Both of them were very well behaved and provided the rings for both of you, and even sat quietly during your vows. Camio on the other hand, stole Lucio’s big moment and screeched ‘NICE ASS!’ when he was supposed to say ‘I do’. It totally broke the mood, but dear ol’ Lucy, he just turned and said ‘thank you’ before rolling with it
