I think i have Lori as 5’8?? The game had giorgi as 5’11 so theres about 3 inches between them unless Lori is wearing heels and in that case they’re equal height which Giorgi probably hates. They're both outgoing. Lori is an aries and Giorgi is a sagittarius and their signs go really well together. Theyre literally both out to have a good time and i think there is a mutual relief that neither of them dont care about settling down etc and make the most of it the best they can. I think though as their personalities are similar its often the reason why they clash a lot and will argue about dumb stuff

They both have big mouths so they both take the lead which then causes them to get annoyed with the other cause theyre basically battling for attention. Their personalities are fairly similar cause like I said theyre both outgoing and are wanting to be significant

Definitely ori’s flirting. She flirts w/ everyone and was absolutely arranging dates with other people whilst still dating him. To her it didnt mean anything and she was just doing it because she was bored but Giorgi didnt see it that way :/ also Lori will cause arguments over his family because she knows that most of them dont like her and the feeling is mutual

Physical affection and giving gifts. Lori is pretty hands on w/ affection but only in private shes not ready to embarrass herself in public just yet. Giorgi thinks he can buy Lori’s affection so he often gets her stupid little gifts which have no thought behind them and theyre needlessly expensive as well because money is no object to him apparently

4. How often do they cuddle or engage in PDA?

Yes. but not really in public unless theyre drinking or around close friends.

Lori will but only if shes drunk lol. Cringing just thinking about it

They go out a lot, mostly drinking in bars and going to nightclubs. she’ll sometimes join him if he’s hanging out with Danny and Ellis cause she doesn't have any real friends beyond Sylvie lol. sometimes Giorgi drags her to his family functions but then she’ll leave early cause she’s caused a scene or something (his aunt called her a tramp and Lori threatened to swing for her but somehow shes in the wrong 🙄)

Physical for sure. Lori initiates almost all of it and even then she only does it if she’s tipsy. Lori would probably rather die than tell him to his face that she loves him (she didn’t really anyway) because of her ~issues~ and Giorgi is a Man™️ so verbal affection is non existent. He’ll tell her she looks nice but that’s about it

10. What do they like best about each other?

Giorgi likes her on a physical level and he’ll say it’s her best quality 😒 He likes as well shes not committed to settling down getting married etc she’s just interested in having fun. Lori finds him good looking enough like a 5 or 6/10 or something TO HER. She finds him kind of funny and she likes that he buys her gifts although wishes he put more effort into it

Probably Lori but she’s petty and won’t remind him and when he doesn't remember she’ll get mad

I think I mentioned this ages ago but Lori got Giorgi that silly little man bracelet he wears in the game. Even after the break up he still wears it idk why. Apart from that Lori isn’t much of a gift giver and only does it for birthdays and christmas. Giorgi probably buys her stuff she points out in shop windows but Lori moves on quickly so by the time he gets it for her she probably doesnt care about it anymore

IV. DOMESTIC LIFE

2. If they get married, who proposes, and how do they do it? Would they change their surnames?

In my au they get married after Giorgi was sick of his dad going on and on about settling down and he thought Lori was as good as it was going to get. He didnt even propose he just asked her and lori said yes cause 1. money and 2. she knew it would make his family mad. They get married summer of 69 in the casino the weekend it opened and its over the top

4. How many kids do they have, if any? What are they like as parents? What are the kids like?

They have 2 Priscilla and Sonny :) Priscilla was born a year or so after Lori and Giorgi get married and Lori was fine with just one child but Giorgi as well as his dad had been angling for a boy 🙄 Sonny is born just under 2 years later and Giorgi was hellbent on naming him after his dad and unfortunately he got his way but Lori calls him Sonny which catches on w/ everyone else eventually. Lori didn’t want to be a parent so soon but she still does her best in raising them. Giorgi is too busy with the casino most of the time so he mostly does half assed parenting. Priscilla probably isn’t keen on either of her parents especially her mom cause they clash all the time and she just does her own thing. Sonny is the biggest mommy’s boy and Giorgi hates it because he wanted sonny to get involved with the family business as he got older but that won’t happen 🤪 Priscilla makes fun of Sonny all the time over Lori coddling him and calls him a baby lol

Giorgi is the ‘breadwinner’ ig cause hes in charge of running the casino. Lori does some stuff like cooking when she feels like it but they probably have a housekeeper to clean and stuff so she’s not exactly working hard either

Lori keeps her cats until they get old and pass away. After that they don’t have any pets apart from like a goldfish or something cause Sonny got obsessed with them one summer

Actually, here is an alternative thing for you to occupy your time with, and a question I have been meaning to ask you for a while. I have finished 911 finally! So I'm ready for the new season. And I wonder, realistically, what do you think the roadmap would be for a buddie endgame?

I absolutely see how their story has been framed and filmed in a lot of parallels to how a romantic storyline would be set out. But there has been no outright mention of either of them being bi - although the conversation about Maddy setting Buck up with whassisface was very casual and could very easily have been an example of canonically bi Buck - and they are both at the end of season 4 in 'relationships' with women.

So, in your estimation, what's the timeline? What's the transition? How do they go about this and how long does it take? I wanna know your thoughts 👀

okay yes i have lots of thoughts on this and it's actually one of my fave questions i get asked. I've always watched a lot of tv shows so I'm just estimating on what I've seen before and what I would personally do. IMO this love story is a slow burn. We only have four seasons so far and only three of those seasons have Eddie in them. This unsurprisingly got long so ill put it under the cut.

So I'll go by seasons bc to me its important to look at everything that has happened so far by seasons and by love interests and not as a whole. Its the best way i can form a timeline that I think would make the most sense and why

S1: So we don't get any hints at Buck being anything other than straight and I think this is because he was supposed to be. They hadn't planned for Eddie yet and they definitely hadn't planned for the chemistry Oliver and Ryan were gonna have. S1 Buck was this reckless kid who didn't take anything serious. He was definitely super immature. Then he meets Abby and he starts to get serious about his job and his love life. I'm not gonna say "Abby changed him" because she didnt. He saw the person he was and the person he was becoming and decided on that change himself.

S2: Eddie!!!! So we get introduced to this army medic turned firefighter in the least heterosexual way. Then Buck is angry because Eddie is hot and really good at his job. they work together and Eddie compliments Buck and now they're smiley bffs. Seriously wtf was all that? Anyway this is all sus bc from what ive seen before in other shows when a main love interest leaves and a new main character replaces them, that means something. JLH replaced Connie Britton as far as big name actress but i really believe Eddie replaced Abby as far as importance in Buck's life. Do i think they brought him in with the intentions of turning him into a LI? No but they sure fueled the narrative from the get go. I think they saw fans reactions and started testing the waters.

Moving on to LIs in this season. We find out Eddie has a kid and the mother is not in the picture (eddie made sure buck knew that right away). Then later on we find out he's technically still married. shannon comes back and we get Eddie finally getting to confront this head on. He tries to get his family back together for the sake of his son. Its big for Eddie's character bc all he does and all he's ever done is for his son. Then Shannon asks for a divorce then she dies bringing this arc to an abrupt end and leaving eddie heartbroken.

meanwhile Buck is still waiting for Abby. Then he finally accepts that shes not coming back and decides to move on. He goes right back to being "Buck 1.0" with Taylor and feels bad about himself because that really isnt him anymore. He wants a real relationship. So then Ali calls and asks him on an actual date and he agrees. This is his first try at a relationship after a heartbreak. in tv these don't usually work out but are used to develop the main character's growth. We don't really see much of her but she breaks up with him so.

S3: This is Eddie finally dealing with his feelings/guilt season. This is also the season I think we really see how important Buck is to the Diaz boys. S2 had cute buckley-diaz family moments but those could still be interpreted as a best friend and his best friend's kid. This season though... after the tsunamic episode was when i really started to fully believe buddie was going canon. This season is solidifying their bond not only as Buck and Eddie but as Buck Eddie and Christpher. As I'm writing this I realized neither of them really has a love interest in this season do they? Ana is introduced but then is clearly presented as definitely NOT the right choice for eddie and especially for Chris. Then they counter that with Buck helping Eddie build a skateboard for Chris that he can use as opposed to Ana's ablest remarks about how he can't do it so just move on to something else. Then we get Buck's reaction in Eddie Begins. Buck has seen his team his friends his family get hurt on the job before but he has never reacted the way he did when it was Eddie in danger. Again solidifying just how much these two mean to each other. Don't even get me started on this season being when Eddie changes his will offscreen. Anyway we get Abby back and Buck finally gets the closure from that relationship that he needs to move forward into a serious relationship.

Now S4: jfc s4....IMO this is the only logical season to get the ball rolling on Buddie and they sure did that with 4x14 despite everything else. So i never thought they would be the first serious relationship for each other after the heart break theyve both experienced. It wouldn't be fair to their character developments. Buck tries dating Veronica and that clearly doesnt work but we know hes now open to dating again. We get Buck Begins where we see why Buck is the dare devil he is. The only way he got his parents attention as a kid was to put himself in danger. They bring back taylor and how to they ultimately get together after she friendzones him? She thinks hes in danger and suddenly wants him. As much as i hate it this is really gonna be a relationship where Buck finally stands up for himself and sees his own worth and realizes he deserves more. He deserves someone who sees him and loves him for who he is. He deserves to be chosen, something Abby Ali his parents dont do and what i think taylor wont end up doing. I feel like shes gonna choose her career over him. Maybe not in a "I'm breaking up with you" way but maybe she takes a new job and want to do LD (hes tried that twice and it didnt work for him. hes not gonna want that) or she could ask him to go with her but he wont. His family is in LA. His job is in LA. Eddie and Chris are in LA and he won't leave them. Then we have Eddie finally deciding to move on and try dating again so they bring back ana. To me it's not gonna work out so I'm not bothered at all lmao. It's interesting that they'd choose her though. Someone we already know Eddie doesn't trust with his son. There's also more buckley-diaz family scenes of them being coparents. The hildy episode, Chris running to Buck when hes mad at eddie, Buck being the one to tell Chris Eddie got hurt, then Buck staying with Chris and taking on the guardian role without him even knowing just how much that role really does belong to him. He didn't do it out of obligation. He didn't do it because he was asked to. He did it because he thought it would be best for Chris. Finally to 4x14. This is by far the biggest "Oh shit this is it. This is the beginning of buddie". We find out Eddie changed his will a year ago and has just been sitting on this info. I think Eddie knew back then what it meant but he wasn't in the right mindset to accept what it means so he kept it to himself. I think he finally started allowing himself to go there during treasure hunt. The man was jealous yall. Carla coming back and her comment about doing whats best for him and not chris is his oh shit moment. I think he wouldve broken up with Ana a few days after that if he had the time lol. He gets caught up in the mother/son sl then this poor mf gets shot by a sniper. The way that whole scene was filmed btw was not in a bff way. That was a lover watching his beloved almost die in front of him. Buck again puts himself down and Eddie decides this is the moment. He needs Buck to see how important he is. He wants buck to know how loved he is. So he sits there talking himself up to it and finally lets Buck know just how big of a part he is in Eddie's family. Buck's previous scene is him saying he wants someone who wants him back then here is Eddie saying he needs him...Chris needs him. wtf.

So with S5: I think Eddie knows and Buck has a feeling but he's not sure so what i would do is spend s5 with Eddie basically showing Buck his feelings but not exactly getting in the way of Buck's new relationship because Buck has to be the one to make that choice. Id also have chris feeling the different shift with buck having a gf like he did with Eddie. This newfound info wasnt just dropped on us for a "Aww so sweet" moment. This will business is gonna be a part of a bigger storyline. I'm hoping its with Eddie's family during maybe 5b.

So what I think would be the best timeline for canon buddie is 5a eddie already having either broken up with ana or is gonna break up with her, Buck choosing himself and ending things with Taylor by midseason finale, them bringing in Eddie's family in 5b and maybe then being when Eddie confesses his feelings for Buck. Then 6a we could get them walking on egg shells around each other not really knowing what to do bc this is all so new for both of them. This could bring just the right amount of comedy and angst especially them awkward and flustered around each other at work. A big blowup can happen between them for added angst (maybe an arguement before one of them or both of them is put in danger) then a midseason finale kiss. Then trying to find the balance between their personal relationship and their work relationship during 6b.

I don't know how long Fox shows last but procedurals can last a long time. I'm not sure thats gonna be the case for 911 especially with all the main cast staying that long so i think this would give us at least a whole season (S7) of canon buddie.

As far as then being presented as straight, there's been more seeds planted about buck being bi. A few i can remember off the top of my head: all of 2x1 lmao, maddie's comment about bucks boy crush on eddie, buck hinting at thinking eddie is cute when he thinks maddie is talking about him, the christmas elf, the comments on the instagram livestream, idk if youve watched it or not but TK's comment to Buck in the crossover episode, and like you mentioned Maddie's casual comment about setting him up with Josh. All we really know about Eddie's love life is he married Shannon when they were young and is trying with Ana so it could turn into a whole storyline for him.

so uhh inspiration hit today and i wrote this?? tw for hospitals, head trauma and amnesia. it’s cute tho i promise

you know the trope, someone wakes up from a coma and they dont recognise their spouse and are amazed theyve got such a hot spouse?? this is like. the inverse of that. if that makes sense lmao

Dinah hadn't slept properly for weeks. It had been a regular patrol, until Laurel had got on the wrong side of a thug with an iron bar and ended up in the hospital, in an induced coma to help her heal from the head trauma.

She'd spent every night by her bed, holding her hand, and most mornings and evenings too, and even some lunch breaks when her workload was light enough. Dinah had become a familiar sight on the ward, files under her arm, working away on her laptop one-handed whilst her other hand held Laurel's.

Trust Laurel to wake up in one of the few hours Dinah spent away from her.

“She's awake!” Felicity said excitedly over the phone. “Well - she's a bit confused and very sleepy, but she's awake.”

Dinah left, a whirlwind through the precinct, and drove as fast as she legally could over to the hospital.

The sight that greeted her was so beautiful she almost cried.  

“Laurel.” She whispered, and Laurel looked up, eyes wide and tired and slightly unfocused, and she smiled, the blissed out sort of smile that came with being on heavy pain medication.

Felicity appeared in the doorway, blocking her. “Retrograde amnesia is very common in patients with head trauma.” She blurted out, and Dinah raised an eyebrow.

“What?”

“Laurel - she doesn't remember anything. It's pretty common and it'll come back to her in a couple of hours or days, but -”

“She doesn't know who you are? Who I am?” Dinah asked cautiously, because if the Laurel she knew woke up in a hospital surrounded by strangers, they were going to need the meta-dampener.

“No, but she's weirdly chill about it.” Felicity said, turning back to Laurel. “I have to go now - I've got to brief the others. Dinah's going to stay with you.”

“That's Dinah? You never told me she was hot.” Laurel said, her voice slurred slightly, and Dinah felt herself flush. She gave Felicity's arm a squeeze.  

“I'll look after her.”

Felicity nodded in thanks, saying her goodbyes to Laurel as she left, shutting the door behind her.  

Dinah made her way to Laurel's bedside. “How are you feeling?” She said quietly, her hand darting out to move a strand of hair back from her forehead, and Laurel looked at her, a lazy smile on her face.

“Better now that you're here.”

Dinah rolled her eyes - normally she loved their flirty banter, but flirting with an amnesiac head trauma patient seemed beyond what she was up for.  

“Are you my wife?” Laurel blurted out unexpectedly.  

“What? No -” Dinah said, a little taken aback, and Laurel scrunched her nose, a move so adorable it made Dinah's knees a little weak.

“No, I think you are.” Laurel said, having considered it for a moment. “That woman - Felicity - she said you spent every night and day here, and you were the first person she called about me. That sounds like my wife.”

“That's just - I'm just your friend, Laurel.” Dinah said softly.  

“Then why am I wearing a wedding ring?” Laurel said, pulling her hands from under the blanket with great effort. Her eyes widened. “Why am I wearing so many rings!”

“They're not all - none of them are wedding rings.” Dinah said, trying to stop herself from laughing. “You just like wearing rings, okay?”

Laurel nodded, examining her hands, before she looked back up at Dinah. “See? You know me. Like my wife.”

“Like your friend, Laurel.” Dinah said, a smile on her face. “Are you going to believe me?”

“No.” Laurel muttered, frowning. “I don't want to believe it. Why haven't I made a move? Are you dating someone? Are you straight?”

“I'm not dating anyone, and I'm not straight.” Dinah said.  

“Oh, thank god.” Laurel said. “If you were straight that would be like - an affront. To everyone. You're way too hot.”

“Thanks?” Dinah started, trying to hold in her laughter, unsure if she should take it as a complement or not. “Laurel - you should rest. You're going to be mad at me that I let you say all this.”

Laurel frowned, pouting slightly. “I don't want to. I've slept for ages.”

Dinah was going to push it, but the doctor came in - he didn't look up from his chart, didn't see Laurel shrink back slightly, so Dinah moved to hold her hand, and answered for Laurel when Laurel couldn't remember. He left after a few minutes, and Dinah looked back down to Laurel, who was looking up at her with wide eyes.

“What?”

“We’re definitely married.”

“Laurel -”

“You know I have a fucking cashew allergy, I didn’t even know that -”

“You have amnesia, Laur, you don’t remember anything-”

“And the nickname!” Laurel said indignantly. “You have a nickname for me? And we’re not even dating?”

“Can you go to sleep, please?” Dinah sighed.

Laurel opened her mouth to argue, but then thought better of it, sighing deeply. “Fine.” Dinah helped her lay down, adjusting the pillows, until Laurel was looking up at her with wide eyes. “Will you stay?”  

“Yeah, I’ll stay.” Dinah said, then looked around for the chair she’d been napping in the last several nights, but it had been moved -

“Get in.” Laurel mumbled, half asleep, and Dinah looked back to see Laurel had moved as far over as she could get, looking at Dinah drowsily.

“Laurel, I don’t - that bed cannot fit two -”

“It’s better than the floor.” Laurel mumbled. “Please?”

Dinah looked at her – Laurel looked surprisingly small in the thin pajama's the hospital had given her, and she gave in, because she hadn’t slept properly since Laurel’s accident and the exhaustion was starting to creep in. She toed off her shoes and dropped her leather jacket onto the side table before very carefully laying down on the bed.

Laurel seized the opportunity almost immediately, cuddling closer and turning, very slowly, to face Dinah, a grin on her face.

“Are you happy now?”

Laurel hummed in response, pulling even closer, and Dinah drew her arms up around her to hold her closer, careful not to jostle any injuries.

“See?” Laurel said, her voice muffled by a yawn. “We have to be married, I fit too well in your arms.”

Dinah didn’t reply straight away, just started to rub her hand absent-mindedly down Laurel’s back.

“Stop fighting it, go to sleep.” She murmured, when she felt Laurel shift in her arms. “I’ll be here when you wake up, I promise.”

“Promise?” Laurel muttered, clearly half asleep, and Dinah bent a little to press a kiss to her forehead.

“Yeah, I’d be a shitty wife if I didn’t.”

It might just be me, but take it from someone who worked in the wedding industry for 3 years, and lemme tell you: weddings are fun, beautiful, amazing, but they’re also hella for the privileged. I really hate how fucking fake and badly acted that scene was when Maggie’s dad and Winston’s grandma objected to the marriage. Why did they wait until then and EMBARRASS both of them???? Like you said, what the hell was the point of last episode’s whole debacle???? They could’ve just not done that plot in ep 16 and had them get married anyway in ep 17 and had someone object to their marriage. 

Can’t believe Maggie flew two old people around the country during a goddamn pandemic. How irresponsible is it???? Again, I don’t know if it’s because they’re just way more relaxed in the states than where I’m from but wth....

so, i know for a FACT that im not the only one that uses songs to picture scenarios with a pairing i really love. like, sometimes im so set on the idea of a ship that i have to rewrite the entire show in my brain, rework it so that they end up together logically. songs are always so good to visualise too. harringrove is the BEST for this, because the show itself uses scenes set to 80s music all the time. 

anywho, this is a really longwided way of saying hey heres my harringrove playlist enjoy :)

this song has always been made for a scene where tension has to slowly build.

so, instead of the scene with billy and neil happening at the end of the season when theres much more world-end-y  things to deal with, it happens earlier. 

the  scene happens, billy goes to find max and ends up finding steve and the kids in that junkyard. 

“am i dreaming or is that you harrington”

(really rushed) “yeah its me dont cream your pants what the FUCK are you doing here hargrove you have to leave right now”

billy won’t shut the fuck up so steve has to cover his mouth and try to push him into the bus. then we hear a demidog, steve gives up on billy and gets ready to fight, quietly hands billy a broken pole or something just in case. 

the song starts from 0:00 right when billy sees the demidog, the camera pans in on his face, just so confused and scared, processing what hes seeing. then he joins the fight, he and steve back to back protecting the kids. this leads to billy being part of the gang, at least in some respects. hes strong as fuck and now they have to fill him in on the circumstances now so hes around more often to help. he wants to protect max, but also be near/protect steve. 

so ! during subsequent fights/situations, billy and steve get a little closer, damn they’re not in love but hey they’re getting more comfortable and theres deeeefinitely some mutal attraction, the energy from those shower and basketball scenes hasn’t gone away. if steves the mother figure billys the dad. 

on the “i need a hero” (BAM) part that leads into the chorus, billy saves steve with some kind of big action you know? RIGHT on the beat i swear i get chills every time i picture it to this song. like he pushes something off of him or pull him out of the way really suddenly after running reaaaallly fast to get to him. right after it cuts to steve looking all suprised and impressed while billy keeps fighting. 

same applies to the part that goes “watched out here i COME” in the second song, except its steve saving billy. 

since two thousand and fucking 17 ive seen this song as billys image of steve. it always sounded like his thoughts about him. 

this is one of the first moments billy realises he might really REALLY like steve. hes not just horny he might actually love this moron. at around 2:07 when all the instrumental goes away and its mainly the drums, thats when it happens. 

hes picking steve up from somewhere. theyve been spending more time together as buddies. he apologised for being a dick, theyve had some more serious conversations. hes taking him to hang out with the kids, maybe he just needed a ride home from school or work. anyway, its golden hour. hes waiting to see him and hes weirdly nervous, more than he ever was waiting to pick up a date with one of the hawkins girls.

and then he sees steve walk out onto the street, or come around the corner.

his heart STOPS. steve just looks so beautiful. the light hitting his hair. he smiles at someone he knows as the walk by. billys just HIT with hoe much he loves this stupid moron and his stupid fucking smile.

steves looking around for the car and looks so. happy. when he sees billy, billy smiles back. its been a while since hes smiled that genuinely. 

billy really really part of gang now. this might be sometime after the final events of season 2 i think?? billys saved them all, had a lot of experiences, hes built up some trust with the group and it feels normal that hes there. hes part of the family, and thats what this songs about. 

it night time, theyre at steves house, all the kids, nancy, jonathen, etc. some are swimming, everyones dancing, things feel a little more okay. 

at around 1:54, (again im a sucker for stripping away most of the instrumental and relying on a few key sounds, including loud drums) billy looks around. he has for one of the first times in a while this sense of FAMILY and ACCEPTANCE and SAFETY.

theres all these shots of everyone having fun, like 2 or 3 cuts, then to steve. just standing there laughing, hairs all wet from the pool, towel around his shoulders. he looks over, catches billys eye, gives him a smile, it feels like he knows what hes thinking, and he feels the same way. 

same night, during the part build up that starts at around 2:53, everyones trying to get billy to dance, hes been smoking on one of the pool chairs, not antisocial just not dancing. not his thing. plus he doesnt want to look like an idiot infront of steve. anyway. 

one of the kids starts it, starts gesturing for him to get up, pointedly singing the lyrics, the rest join in unti theyre all singing and chanting for him to join, all while the song builds and builds. finally steve joins in. maintains eye contact. thats enough for billy. he just keeps his eyes on steve as he stands up. its more like theyre dancing together, less like the kids are there. right at the end of that bridge he just lets go. takes of his jacket and dances around with everyone. he doesnt look stupid either. he looks good. and steve notices 

this is a small one, i dont even have a story to it. all i know is that comparisons between the scene that accompanies this song in top gun and the basket ball scene in st2 have been made, and itd be a super fun, corny scene :)

starts at the very begining. this song has ALWAYS felt so magical and me. i get chills every god damn time i hear the intro. i want their first kiss to be to the intro. 

its after the last fight of season three. someone else was flayed, someone we dont love. obviously billy survives. in FACT, he was along for the ride with robin and steve, all the shenanigens with the russians, billy was tied up and drugged too. BOTH he and robin admit their sexualities. 

billy still sacrafices himself to save the kids from the monster, he says something cute like “see ya round pretty boy” or some corny shit like that before he goes to run and save el, theres a moment when steve knows what hes about to do, theyre staring at eachother and theeeerse the electricity steve knows so much about. theyre really about to kiss, staring at eachothers mouths, but the monster makes a noise and billy knows its now or never, so he runs off. 

steve tries to save him but gets nocked out. he goes unconcious thinking billys going to or is already dead. 

it cuts to the end scene when theyre all in the car park. steves got an icepack to his face, hes obviously been sobbing. 

but he heres a voice. 

(clearly overjoyed and kind of smug) “am i dreaming or is that you harrington”

he looks up. its billy. we get a nice long run-jump-hug. steves in billys arms before he can even finish his sentence:

(nearly crying but SO excited) “yeah its me dont cream your pa-”

NOW. OKAY SO. i love love love they idea of billy steve and robin going home with murray, or at least showing up at his place. maybe billy cant stand the thought of going home, hell maybe neil was the one that got flayed and died idk. anyway.

nancy and jonathen are like, we know a place if people dont want to go home, and they go murrays place. when they show up at the door murray KNOWS. hes like “ffs two more people who have repressed feelings for eachother what am i a therapist. but he lets them in and they have a similar conversation that murray had with nancy and jonathen/joyce and hopper. poking fun at how much they like eachother etc. 

billy and steve have a really intimate talk. not sexaul intimate, just really open. theyre both so tiered, steve thought billy was dead, billy had to say goodbye to steve, who he KNOWS hes in love with by now, thinking he was about to die. they both KNOW how the feel about eachother now, but they havent said it explicitly. just lots of “i really thought id lost you”, “your my best friend”, “i cant believe youd do that for me” etc etc. 

they decide to go to bed, billy walks steve to his room, the one nancy stayed in when she and jonathen got together, theyre standing at the door. just staring at eachother like they were during that fight sequence. the energies back. billy really thinks he might go for it, but decides he doesnt want to ruin things if steve doesnt really feel the same way. he doesnt even know if he likes guys yet. so he just says “night steve” (steve, get it, not harrington, cause theyre close now and he loves him and those defensive barriers are down ahhhh). 

just as he turns to leave, steve does this:

this exact thing. he grabs billys arm, leans down and kisses him. he thought he lost his chance once, he nearly died like a million times in the past 48 hours. he cant stop himself. 

RIGHT HERE is when the intro to jump kicks in. FUck that synth, the rumbling note that runs through the whole thing. time. stops. its perfect. billys wanted this for so long, so has steve but in the grand tradition of fanfiction he didnt know it until he nearly lost billy for good. 

their arms are all over eachother, just as the rest of the instruments come in, at like 0:15, they both smile into the kiss and shut the door behind them, and it cuts away :). 

theyre finally together!!! theyre in the happy, honeymoon stage of realtionship. god theyre just fucking every. chance. they. get. i think this is a new season. it’s a montage of them hooking up all over hawkins. 

in the back of the video store, robin covering for them. in the car, outside school, steves house. someone walks in and billy has to hang out of the window. he makes a noise and steves like “thats probably just a bird or something” and billy MAKES A BIRD NOISE TO THE BEST OF HIS ABILITY. 

when steve helps him back inside he just stares a him with that “youre a moron but your my moron now” face. “~mimics the sound billy made~ really?” and then billy just laughs and goes back to hooking up with him.

so yes, rl + da road trip! i hope it’s okay that i took a bit to answer this, bc i wanted to ruminate on it for a bit before typing it up. so as y’all know we refer to the summer between s1 and 2 as “cruel summer” (thank u tswift), and similarly we have a code name for the summer between s2 and 3 which is “summer of love.” this is admittedly mainly because of rl, but also because a majority of the characters are in such a better headspace this summer than they were last.

one facet of this summer is that around... july sometime, dylucasher decide they want to take a trip down to virginia beach (or the beaches in that general vicinity) because they want to check out a beach that isnt grey and cold like the ones close to them in ny, and because a trip before their last year of school together seems like a fun and Classic idea. originally they plan it for just the three of them, but somehow riley comes up and all of them agree -- especially dylan -- that it would be way more fun if she came along too. so they try to convince her to come along, which doesn’t take much convincing, it’s more so about figuring out how she’s going to get around cory because if he knew she wanted to go on a like week long trip with her boyfriend (who he doesn’t really trust) and two other boys he would probably have a heart attack.

you know, it would be like “you can’t go on an overnight trip with three boys!!!” “dad, you know dylan and asher. they’re gay. they’ve been dating for three years. they’re GAY. i do not think i’m at ALL at risk in that scenario???” fsdfSDKGDL

so riley devises a plan / cover story that involves like “going to stay with mom” for a few days, maybe a lie about staying over at isa’s or yindra’s for a couple days in there, you know, she lays out the whole lie and then bribes maya to go along with it and help cover her tracks (rl have very inverse influences on one another -- where riley sort of tames lucas and helps calm him and make him less feral, she develops a bit of a rebellious streak from him or just better identifies the nuances of which rules should be followed vs which were meant to be bent or broken..)

the good thing about this road trip is that it’s what truly cements riley’s friendship with dylan and asher. they’ve been toeing the line of friendship for like two years now (as riley said in cruel summer, she regretted not taking the time and establish a friendship with them in sophomore year before everything fell apart), and it’s kind of like it’s bound to happen. riley and asher takes a little more time to grow and develop just because of the kind of person asher is, but on this road trip dylan and riley just Click. like they were basically made to be best friends, dylan is the first person who kind intrinsically Gets riley and they match each other in terms of enthusiasm / personality / brightness. again, a friendship that’s just been Waiting to happen, and this trip really brings that to the forefront.

(on that note, i once joked that when dylan and riley get really into chatting about something and lucas zones out, they start sounding like the villagers in animal crossing to him. like if he stops paying attention for even a second suddenly dyley sound like this. and i stand by that claim.)

as for the trip itself, its not like i have the whole thing perfectly plotted or anything like that, more just... musings and ideas. oh and a playlist, of course i have a playlist. obviously they’re really good about swapping around drivers and sort of organizing their time since they only have a week, and i think it’s mainly funded by dylan’s youtube vlogger coin. asher helps and riley chips in her fair share, but dylan basically covers lucas because obviously he can’t pay but they all want him there. he makes up for this by driving the most even tho the other three insist its not a big deal.

when it comes to sharing space, the quartet of them are pretty good at it. obviously when they stop for the night they just share beds by couple, but it is interesting to think about how different these two relationships are in terms of like... you know, where they’re at. like its super easy for da to share a bed because they basically do that all the time now, but for rl breaking that boundary would be a kind of unspoken big deal and lucas would be so cautious about it. like they spend most of the summer in riley’s car (can’t hang out at her place with cory there and no one is going to lucas’s) and so theyve probably like fallen asleep together there once or twice and maybe napped ONCE at riley’s place when maya and cory were both gone in the 2.5 months they’ve been together, but it’s still... not the same. so at first lucas would be really nervous about it, but after the first couple of nights he’d relax and realize its really not that big a deal -- esp since riley seems pretty confident and comfortable with it. by the end of the week, lucas wakes up in the middle of the night and riley has cuddled up next to him and he’s like... okay MAYBE sharing a bed with someone makes points. perhaps.

one of the nights on the way down the coast, what truly breaks the ice for dylan and riley is that they break out a SMALL amount of alcohol and both get tipsy (which for them is just like. giddy and giggly and very chatty. they’re both happy drunks without a doubt). lucas and asher don’t indulge bc lucas doesn’t trust himself getting intoxicated and asher is just wary of it in general, but they figure dyley can do it as long as they’re both supervising. so dylan and riley talk A LOT that night and truly form their Kindred Spirit bond and also lucasher end up regretting letting them drink bc for like a half an hour dyley do this thing where they just pretend to share secrets with one another. like they theatrically whisper in one another’s ears and look at lucasher while they’re doing it and then start laughing and they’re literally not saying anything Important (like it’s probably like riley being like “psst... i think lucas is... hee hee... lucas is hot”) and then dylan cracking up and agreeing but bc lucasher don’t know what they’re saying they’re like ha ha very funny........... but y’all aren’t talking about us doe right. wait, what did you say. hold on --

a lot of the trip is also based around being in nature and the outdoors, since they don’t get to do much of that day-to-day in manhattan. considering one of their favorite spots to hang out as a group during senior year is at central park, they’re all definitely fresh air outdoorsy kind of people to a degree. so like, stopping at parks, going on hikes, and of course the beach itself. i made an instagram edit of one of said hikes when i was testing a template i made:

naturally, and i swear this happens at least once on a long road trip whether it is with family or friends or any combo of people, but you hit a point where you get irritable and start to get a little sick of one another. i think in this case that mainly starts between lucas and asher, because although they’re Best Friends i think lucas has a knack for finding ways of irritating him. and also lucas probably gets irritated by dylan’s high energy after too much time with no breaks, so he’s also snappy, and as they’re on the way back up to nyc people are spatting at one another or getting snippy over stupid things so riles is like. here’s an idea! how about we split up for the day when we get to philadelphia. this is an excellent idea and none of them are opposed, so when they arrive in philly, dylan and asher split off to go explore the city + historical sites.

what do riley and lucas do? well, riley takes lucas to meet her grandparents, of course.

at first lucas is like ummmmmmm no because he’s SUPER nervous about meeting her family -- the only family he’s met is cory and we know that’s... unideal, and eric, both of whom have a completely different perception of him bc of school and his behavioral record. he’s yet to meet topanga or auggie yet or anything like that -- but riley assures him that her grandparents are chill and she has no doubt she’ll like them. they’re also meeting lucas with a completely blank slate (i.e. no preconceived notions about him like those who work at aaa), so it’s not hard for lucas to make a good impression since he really is like... a good guy. not to mention no way is he snarky or deadpan in situations where he doesn’t feel comfortable or like he has the right lmao, so he’s on his BEST behavior around amy and alan.

the good thing is that alan himself kind of had a similar background and run on the wild side that lucas does (kind of like jack, altho jack was never as troubled as lucas), and so i think he would kind of... inherently Get him. like he’d strike up a conversation with him and at first lucas would be like omg why is this man speaking to me please i’m invisible pretend i’m not here... but after a bit he’d find it’s surprisingly easy to talk to alan. and they’d talk for like an hour and get on pretty well. meanwhile, amy is talking to riley and is like so... let me guess. cory does not know you’re traveling with your boyfriend???? and riley is like... perhaps. maybe don’t tell him? pretty please? and once amy convenes with alan and is like how is he and alan is all “he’s fine, we can approve,” then they agree not to rat riley out.

riley and lucas also climb up into the matthews tree house and take a look around and they comment on how strange it is that cory and eric once used to like, hang out in there and in that house and were once teenagers (lucas: be careful this is humanizing your father too much for me). and i’d think they’d sit up in the treehouse for a little bit and just talk and riley would talk about how nice it must’ve been to grow up in the suburbs like this, and she’s surprised when lucas agrees and he admits he fucking hates living in manhattan. and that kind of prompts this subtle internal thinking in both of them of like hmm well... maybe in the future when things are different and we can make our own rules maybe we’ll move out of the city and into a quieter life... they don’t say any of that out loud, but they’re both thinking it. and at the tail end of that conversation riley kisses lucas which turns into a Really Good Kiss... but then they’re interrupted by amy calling for them to come down for dinner and its kind of like lmao, they’re both a little bashful but in a casual silly way

Okay heres that AU i said that i'd ramble about

So, this needs some world building before I get into the actual au, because its... very specific. 

So, fantasy au, witches and vampires are thing that exist, as are humans and ghosts. Vampires look like normal humans, and age like them until the hit vampire puberty (40ish) at which point they can look like whatever age they want to. They cannot taste human food. They also are usually turned, as opposed to born vampires.

 Witches are humanoid, but their coloring is different. They have usually iridescent skin of any color. Their form of blushing is their face getting darker and constellations forming on their cheeks. Their wands are harmful to Vampires. Most witches also HATE vampires, and a good majority are vampire hunters. 

Ghost can be corporeal if they try hard enough, but it takes a lot of energy out of them. They don;t eat or sleep.

The city that they live in is generally segregated by vampire/humans and Witches. 

Okay worldbuilding over, time for the content

So Virgil is a witch

 However, his parents send him to a school in the human part of town

Which has never had a witch in their school before.

So everyone is naturally curious.

However, he’s wearing a glamour, so nobody can see is his witch form. 

He makes friends with a human, Logan. They’re pretty chill together and enjoy eachother’s company.

Then, suddenly, Logan goes missing 

Virgil, understandably, freaks the fuck out.

Not eating, not sleeping, he is so fucking worried

Everyone at the school is a bit wary because they think the witch is going to snap

Logan shows up a week later, disoriented and confused and with no memory of what happened to him, but otherwise fine

Virgil is SO releived to have his best friend back

Then, logan starts displaying some strange symptoms

he starts getting sunburned like, disturbingly easily. He seems more groggy during the day, Being too near Virgil’s wand, which had never bothered him before now, starts to make him nauseous. 

Virgil starts to get suspicious

Then he sees Logan chug a cup of black coffee and tell virgil that it just tastes like water, and Virgil Knows. 

He tells Logan who then starts to freak out because Oh God he cant be a vampire his best friend is a WITCH

Spoiler alert, virgil could not give less of a fuck. He just wants to help his friend.

He goes to a witching library and checks out ALL the books on vampirism they have

He and Logan go to a cafe and spend hours poring over them, making sure that Logan knows everything he needs to know. 

Everything is going smoothly for a few months

Then, somehow, one of the witch’s in Virgil’s neighborhood finds Logan and immeditealy recognizes him as a vampire (his fangs have grown in by now)

They drag him to the witching neighborhood because Public Vampire killings are always fun

Of course virgil sees and stand in front of Logan like Nope hes my Best Friend not today. 

And everyone is either confused or mad. 

Virgil gets kicked out of the neighborhood, and he and Logan decide its best if they jsut. Leave town entirely. 

As they’re leaving, another witch runs up to them.

He says his parents kicked him out for sympathizing with the two, and he wonders if maybe he could go with them?

Virgil and Logan decide that since its they’re fault, he can come.

His name is patton, and he so!!! excited!!! to be with them!!! 

He keeps asking Virgil why he wont drop his glamour and Virgil keeps asking why he wont drop the subject 

(spoiler alert, He’s scared Logan won;t like his true form)

They wander for a WHILE, doing odd jobs and saving money for their own place. 

They eventually settle in a small town a state or so over. They buy a small storefront and open a wittcherie (witch boutique place)

The storefront is haunted by Roman, who died in the 18th century

The dynamic trio is all in their early 20′s by now, by the way

They decide not to try and excorcise the ghost, and just let him be. 

Patton bonds with the ghost, and roman is happy to shower the friendlier of the two witches in praise

Meanwhile, Logan realizes he’s never seen Virgil’s true form without the glamour, and questions him about it. 

Virgil gets a little upset because he’s an insecure mess. 

It doent cause problem for now and thye figure theyve been friends long enough and nothing could ever separate them, lets see how dating works

It works very well

Virgil starts dropping his glamour at night after Logan has gone to bed because keeping that up 24/7 is exhausting

One night he’s sitting up reading with his glamour dropped and Logan wakes up and 

“Wow”

Virgil panics because OH NO

What is Logan doesn; like the way he looks

Logan just stares at him. for a while until Virgil starts breathing heavily and crying

“Virgil are those... stars on your cheeks?”

“I... yeah? They- they appear when I blush.”

“Incredible. You look so... i can;t even describe it, but all i know is a want to see it every day.”

He blushes darker.

So sometimes, during the evenings when they’re alone, he will drop his glamour for logan

(he still keeps it up most of the day because it’s comfortable for him and thats what he’s used to)

One day Roman walks in on them when Virgil has his glamour dropped and his forst though is not “This is virgils witch form” it is “Logan is cheating on Virgil with another witch”

So Roman waits like a week to talk to virgil about it because he wants to protect his friend but he also doens;t want to make things worse between them 

but then when he says “I saw someone who looks like patton but purple kissing your boyfriend and i think you should talk to logan about this” Virgil just bursts out laughing

And roman is confused until Virgil just drops his glamour an then there that moment of “oooooh” 

And yeah then theyre all happy and its nice

nico, a well known punk, ends up in the same prep english class as will and piper and everyone refuses to speak with him or partner with him on assignments and nobody ever even wants to sit next to him

Will’s never been a fan of the whole dynamic the school has but he cant speak out against it or he’ll lose his status and all of his friends, and hes so afraid that he’s gonna get disowned when his teacher partners him and nico for a big project

they have to get together a lot after school to work on this project but they can’t do it in public in case somebody sees them and wills mom doesnt want some punk in her house so they go to nicos all the time

after like,, the first hour of just hanging out and doing homework, theyve both developed some giant crushes on each other but theyre both afraid to say anything so when will leaves the goodbye is very long and tense and kinda awkward but theyre gonna see each other again the next day so its fine

the next day between classes will and nico sneak a kiss under the stairs where they dont think anyone can see but drew is walking by right then and sees it and waits around the corner for nico to leave and then traps will and tells him that she saw everything and that he’ll have to beg for forgiveness for breaking the dynamic and wills a little terrified but hes like “beg for forgiveness?? who r u the pope??” and leaves for class

He texts nico that drew caught them so nico replies “so i guess ur fun is over right and youre gonna break up with me” and wills like “no!! absolutely not i really really like you and i’d rather lose my status than break up with you!!” so nico asks if he wants to go public bc hes ok with it if thats what will wants and will says he wants to think about it

English is their last class of the day so when will walks in he sits down right next to nico and mitchell looks back at him from the front of the room and hes like “will what are you doing” and will leans over and kisses nico square on the lips and nicos a little surprised but he goes “oh so we’re going public then” and kisses will back

word gets out super quick and by the end of the day theres a bunch more couples that broke the dynamic that are publicly dating and its all thanks to will and nico

Now I’ve been an army for a while now, I’d say a dedicated stan since early 2016, and before that I was just aware of them as a whole but I stopped paying attention to kpop for a while there and it was unfortunately during their debut days,,, I always wish I had started paying close attention again sooner because these boys changed my life. And I don’t say that lightly,, I mean it with every ounce of sincerity I can muster. They made me happy, and they made me realize that just giving up isn’t the answer when u rlly want something. They let me know that they’re unafraid to be sincere with their feelings so I shouldn’t be afraid of being sincere in mine either. They literally opened my eyes when I needed it most and I’m forever grateful for that,, and I cannot express properly just how much respect and love I have for these men because of that. They’ve put so much of themselves into their music and into their careers and even when things weren’t picking up as quickly as they wanted they still pushed and carried on and idnskskns NO WORDS CAN TELL U HOW MUCH THOSE EXAMPLES MEAN TO ME. Their honesty and strength give me strength and I just,,,, I LOVE THEM. TO END THIS RAMBLING BIT HERE,, I rlly rlly love them. I’d do a lot for their happiness because they’ve given me the tools to take back some of my own happiness and there’s rlly no way to show u,, or them,, all the gratitude I feel for that.

SO NOW THAT THATS OUTTA THE WAY & we’re clear on all of the above,, I now want to say that I have a deep love for my fellow armys that are truthful on why they stan and that feel a deeper connection for the boys other than just on a shallow level. If ur here for the right reasons and u just want to show the boys support in any way possible, I support u !! I love u and I would love to speak abt the boys with u if u ever need a friend ! Wanna talk abt how much they motivate u ? Let’s do it up boo ! Wanna speak abt mental health issues ? I know abt those on a personal level babe ! U just wanna cry abt how cute one of them looked on a certain day ?? Come my way,, I GOTCHU !! I am an open ear and there is always an open door to my inbox and messager if any of u ever want to talk because I care abt ur well being. I care abt u. I care abt the boys and I care abt my fellow armys because at the end of the day we all are striving for happiness and peace of mind in this world and why not have an open heart to that ?? At least, that’s what this fandom was originally abt. Being here for bangtan and being there for our fellow armys.

That’s kinda what it’s always been abt in my mind and to see how toxic things have gotten in the last year ((specifically the last few months I’d say)) with streaming and voting and buying albums and singles to chart and whatnot like gUYS...... they just want your support ? They just want to make us happy with their music and performances because doing what they do makes them happy and seeing people LITERALLY try to guilt others into thinking they’re not real fans because they aren’t buying the title track fifteen times,, or they can’t afford to buy all 4 albums at least once, or they’re not promoting as hard as they can is 😣😣😣 SO BEYOND RIDICULOUS TO ME. It’s gross !!! It’s not right and it isn’t what bangtan are abt ?? These boys have always been sincere with us,,, always wanted to shoot for the stars but would always fall short and once they started gaining some real traction and reaching those stars they stopped aiming so high. The boys are happy! They have accomplished so much, and they never expect /anything/ from us as fans. They only wish for our happiness and support. They’ve said it time and time again and yet we still have people leading lynches against others for not voting on stupid polls ? For not hashtagging every tweet with a voting or trending tag for our favs ? For not being able to afford to buy albums or singles ?? Or hell,, some are even saying others need to put forth more of their effort to contact people they don’t know to let them buy singles for them ?? Really ?? It’s truly gotten so bad and I’m so sad whenever I open social media anymore 😔 people have lost sight of what the whole purpose of stanning a group even means & idk ,, it just breaks my heart.

If u only want to support bangtan by trying to break records they don’t even hope to break then go ahead but don’t shame others for not joining u. Let people be a fan and show support in their own ways and just know that even if some of us aren’t publically claiming to buy so many albums and so many singles,, we very well may be doing that on our own and out of the goodness in our hearts because we want the best for the boys that make our lives a little bit brighter. The recognition for awards and records just isn’t at the forefront of our minds because their music and happiness comes first, and so do ours. Its also not nice to pressure others into doing something they may not be able to do.

And at the end the day we all have our own lives and own narratives to live out,, and not all of those narratives involve intensively stanning a boy group we love 25/7. WE GOTTA WORK AND MAKE A NAME FOR OURSELVES BABES WE DONT GOT TIME FOR THAT AND THE BOYS UNDERSTAND AND SUPPORT THAT!! THEY DONT WANT ANY OF U,,, AND I MEAN //ANY// OF U PUTTING THEM BEFORE YOURSELF !!

It’s like they said in magic shop,, we gave them the best of them so we need to give us the best of us,,, and if that means putting urself before them sometimes ?? BLS DO OHMYGODBDJS TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF !! Break some personal records for urself !! Buy ur own mixtape fuxkdnsn IDK JUST ,,, loving bangtan is good and they’re amazing and I would love everyone to show their support for them but I say that because those boys want u to support u first. Don’t listen to people telling u you’re a bad fan because unless ur starting rumours and stalking them ur rlly not !! There is no such thing as a bad fan if ur just trying to show support for artists that u rlly love in your own way.
