im never going to sympathize with the 'don't leave your loved ones in a nursing home' sentiment because anyone who says that quite clearly has never had the ability to establish reasonable boundaries after being violated multiple times. if my mom treated me the way that my grandmother treated her while she was growing up i would 100% have zero qualms about her being put in a nursing home subsisting solely on medicaid and social security. especially because my mom is the only one out of my grandmother's three kids who feels obligated to take care of her at this point.

Part Two the Pretend Boyfriend!Gaz, because I can't just leave it off there. My next post will most likely be a countenance of Grumpy!Reader (looking forward to that).
It was the week of Thanksgiving, so you and Gaz headed in his car to your grandmother's place. You spent the entire time leading up to this week by getting comfortable with pretending Gaz was your boyfriend. You both got your stories straight, learning to be touchy with each other but not too touchy (which was how you two already were, not that either of you noticed), so no one would be able to tell that you two were just best friends.
Gaz pulled his car into the driveway of your grandmother's house, you two early. While you got out of the car and took the dessert you had made, Gaz wrapped his arm around your waist while you two walked to the front door. He knocked on the door and waited for your grandmother to open the door.
"Grandma, it's so good to see you!" You said when she opened the door, a bright smile on both of your faces. You gave Gaz the dessert before hugging your grandma and gesturing to Gaz beside you. "Grandma, this is Kyle, my boyfriend."
Gaz's smile was charming as always, so polite. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. {Last Name}. I'm honored you and your family invited me, I've been excited to you meet you all," he said while shaking her hand.
He wasn't joking, he had been excited to meet your family. From your stories you've told him and the rest of the 141, your family was close-knit, warm with each other. You had four siblings, you the youngest of five, and three of your siblings had children of their own. So it was a large family when adding in your aunts, uncles and cousins. And he was eager to meet all of them.
"Aw, you're such a sweet man, just my granddaughter/grandson said you were. Please, call me Grandma and come, come." Your grandmother ushered you both inside the house, the smell of delicious food wafting towards you both. She took the dessert from you, letting you get settled with your siblings while she and your parents cooked the food.
Gaz had tried to ask if they wanted help, but your parents shooed him away from the kitchen. So you both sat on the couch with your siblings. You pointed to each, saying their names.
"So, Kyle," your oldest brother started saying, his skeptical eyes taking in every detail of Gaz. "When did you and my sibling meet?"
That was an easy question, one that hadn't had needed to be changed and memorized since it was just when you two met. So Gaz told them it was two years ago, which was when you had been transferred to the 141. Your other siblings chimed in with other questions, questions geared towards your pretend relationship. Gaz didn't skip a beat, easily slipping into the role of your boyfriend.
By the time dinner was ready, your entire family was in the house, making it a bit crowded. You all sat at the large dining table, you and Gaz sitting beside each other. You were just eating when your father peered at Gaz. "So, Kyle, what are your intentions with my child?" he asked, watching Gaz's reaction closely.
"Dad," you hissed, frowning at his question. To which your father waved your annoyance off.
"I just want to know he's not stringing you along," your father said defensively. "You're an adult, yes, but you're still my child. I want to know you're being taken care of by a man who sees a future with you."
You were about to grumble, but Gaz gently took your hand in his, letting your entwined hands rest on the dining table.
"I understand, sir. I take no offense," he replied, rubbing the back of your hand soothingly with his thumb. "I see a future with them, sir. Our relationship has been going on for six months now, but I can already see the two of us settling down together. {Name} is amazing and I'm happy with them." He turned towards you, a loving smile on his face which only echoed in his beautiful brown eyes. "Forgive me for saying it so abrasively, but I love them."
Your father seemed pleased and that and his questions to Gaz shifted to just general questions about Gaz. His family, what his plans were in the future in terms of his job.
Gaz was fitting in with your family so well, laughing and joking with them like he had known them since forever. Your hands were still entwined, and it felt right. It felt right to be pretending to be dating Gaz.
After dinner was over, you, your siblings, and your cousins all moved outside in the backyard, your siblings' kids coming outside too. While you sat and chatted with your family, Gaz was pulled into playing with the kids. You watched with fond eyes, eyes that couldn't be faked, smiling as he laughed and played with the kids.
Just as you all were watching Gaz giving each kid a piggyback ride on his back, your oldest sister (who was the second oldest of your siblings) looked at you and chuckled. "Oh, you're so in love," she said, causing your other siblings to laugh.
Your first instinct was to deny it, but the ruse had to be maintained, so you turned to look back at Gaz and the smile on your face was so genuine. "Yeah, I am."
It surprised you how much of the truth that was, it not entirely being a lie. You had never thought you had fallen for Gaz, seeing as you two were always just close to each other. But when you thought about it, you really were in love with Gaz. It was why your first and only thought when needing someone to pretend to be your boyfriend, was to think of asking Gaz. He was a good man, and if tonight was any indication, he was also a good boyfriend.
The rest of the night was a whirlwind, but it ended so late, so you and Gaz had to sleep in the living room. Gaz helped your father move the couch and bring in the air mattress from the garage, you and your mother getting the blankets from the linen closet.
You and Gaz said goodnight to your family and when it was just the two of you in the living room, you started making the couch, while Gaz was making the spare mattress.
"What are you doing?" Gaz asked, having realized what you were doing. He finished putting the sheets and pillows on the air mattress before going over to stop you.
"I'm going to be sleeping on the couch," you said, not willing to budge on your decision, even when he tried to stop you from putting the sheet on the couch.
Gaz shook his head. "First of all, I'd be the one sleeping on the couch. There's just no way I'd let you take it when you should have the bed. And second of all, what happens when your family wakes up in the middle of the night or wakes up before us in the morning and sees us sleeping separately?" He saw you about to argue and he shushed you gently. "Come on, mate. It's not the first we've shared a bed. Let's just share it. Unless you're really that uncomfortable, in that case, I'm taking the couch. Not you."
You were hesitant on sharing a bed with him, especially after you realized your feelings for him, but you couldn't deny his logic of your family getting suspicious of the ruse if they found you two sleeping separately. So you took the extra sheets and pillow back to the linen closet before coming back to the living room. You both looked away from each other when dressing into sleepwear and then you two got underneath the covers.
You had gone to sleep with a few inches of space between you two, wanting not to make him uncomfortable by cuddling. But in the morning, you woke up to laying on top of Gaz while he slept on his back, his strong arms wrapped around your waist protectively.
Your mother, who had woken you up by cooing at the sight of you and Gaz intertwined, snapped a picture of you. But you couldn't focus on that, your heart was beating so fast at the close proximity with Gaz.
And you knew you were fucked when he woke up and gave you a lazy smile while saying "Good morning" in that husky voice of his. You were too deep in love now.

Your hands were shaking as Jack immediately hung up the phone on you and you quickly went to call him back, but of course he didn’t answer. You attempted to call him at least three more times before giving up and you decided to quickly call Nadia because you had no idea what to do at this point. You felt yourself being on the verge of a panic attack and that was the last thing you needed or wanted to deal with. There was enough going on already and there was no need to add anything that would make it more complicated.
As Ace was still playing and in his own little world, you went inside the bathroom and closed the door before you began to dial her number. She picked up on the second ring which you were extremely grateful for. Because your next option was to call Clay and make him tell Maggie what her oldest child just did.
“Hey Y/N! Is everything okay? Are you back home yet?” She asked and you took a deep breath before attempting to respond to her.
“No. Jack just called me and told me that he’s going to take Ace away from me.”
“Got damn. This man takes two steps forward and then a million steps backward, but EXCUSE ME? WHO GAVE HIM THE FUCKING BALLS TO SAY SOME SHIT LIKE THAT TO YOU?”
“I cannot let him take my baby away from me. He is literally all that I have.” You sobbed, but tried to be quiet because the last thing you wanted was for Ace to hear you.
“What even brought all of this on? I thought you two had been doing good for a while?” Nadia asked as she was trying to understand what would make him act like this.
“I got a call from my Aunt the other day and long story short, my grandmother passed away, but I was able to see her before she did. I took Ace with me in a panic because it was such short notice and I didn’t even get a chance to tell him what was happening. I’m in Philly and when Jack found that out, he assumed that was me trying to move and take Ace with me because I had told him when he got older that was what my plan had originally been. However, I was about to decide not to because Ace had been spending so much time with him, but now I’m not so sure. What if they give Ace to him?”
“Be fucking for real right now. Do you honestly think that they are going to give a deadbeat father full custody of a child that he acted as if didn’t exist for the first three years of his life? He has literally only been in his life consistently for four months.”
“But…. I’m thinking about how much money he makes and that is way more than I make in a good five years. He’s the more stable parent?” You responded as if you were asking a question but Nadia wasn’t having any of it.
“No, because you are his primary caregiver and you know how to take care of him and do a damn good job while doing it. Anything that Ace asks you for, you never tell him no, and you do your best to get it for him whether he needs it or wants it. Don’t ever speak down on yourself when it comes to being a mother because you are doing the damn thing. You put him first. Jack does that when it’s convenient for him. And it took him almost four damn years to tell his parents that they have a grandchild? Any judge with common sense is not going to give him to Jack and truth be told, this will probably come back to bite him in the ass with how he’s treated him.”
After hearing Nadia say that, you had a realization that she was absolutely right and if wanted to do this to spite you, then he had a hell of a fight in front of him.
“I… just hope you’re right because I refuse to let this happen. If this is how he wants this to play out, then so be it. But he better not be crying when it doesn’t go how he wants it to.”
“Now, that’s my girl. Do what you need to do to protect not only Ace, but yourself. And to think that I was rooting for you two to actually be in a relationship. But, he keeps disappointing me so it’s fair to say that ship has sailed.”
“There was no ship to begin with Nadia. I never want to deal with someone like that.”
“Can I be honest?”
“It doesn’t matter if I say yes or no, you’re going to tell me anyway.”
“This is going to be the wake up call that makes him get his shit together and I guarantee you that he’s never going to act like that towards you ever again.”
A few days had passed and Jack was at home in Louisville working on some new music, or trying to at least. His mind was steadily on you and how you were trying to take his son away from him and move several states away. He hadn’t told anyone about what he had planned to do but figured that he should at least tell his parents along with Neelam so she could do her best to navigate how to try and help him get custody since he had no idea where to even start.
Once he had reached his parents house and parked in the driveway, he walked in to see his mother in the kitchen focusing on reading a recipe that he assumed she was going to make for dinner as Clay was also there. He wanted to talk to his mom alone, but figured by now that you had probably already told Clay about what he had said to you since he knew that the two of you would talk often.
He hadn’t spoken to you since that day, despite you calling him multiple times after he had disconnected the call. At this point, he figured that he didn’t have anything to say to you anymore.
“Mom, I need to tell you something.” Jack said and Clay’s ears immediately perked up and looked in his direction.
“Hi to you too, Jackman and do you have any other secret children I need to worry about?” She said without even looking at him and he immediately sighed as Clay stifled a laugh. Jack quickly shot him a look before responding back to his mother.
“I’m filing for full custody of Ace.”
This made both Maggie and Clay stop what they were doing and look at Jack in disbelief. All Maggie did was sigh before answering him.
“And what makes you think that you’re going to get it?” She asked, being completely honest.
“Because she took him across state lines without my permission and without even saying anything to me.”
“And did she tell you why she did this? And I don’t think she needs your permission since she’s his primary caregiver.”
“Well, no. I didn’t ask but…”
“So, you mean to tell me that you are going to take your child away from the only parent he’s really ever known and you’ve only been in his life consistently for a matter of months?”
“Mom, I thought that you would support me with this.”
“Why? Ace is taken care of, Y/N seems like an amazing girl and Clay speaks highly of her. She doesn’t seem like she wants anything from you, but to raise Ace in a healthy manner.  You probably only want to do this because your pride and your ego are hurt. I guarantee if you go through with this, you’re going to be the one who gets hurt in the end and I will damn sure say I told you so because I am still so disappointed in you in all of this. You know I love and support you through anything, but not this time.”
“Confidence has gotten you a long way, big brother, but it’s not going to work this time. If this ends up going to court, this will be messy. Spare yourself, Ace, and Y/N from this. All she ever wanted was for you to help her take care of him, not take him away from her. I’m sure if you talk to her that the two of you will be able to come to some sort of agreement.”
“Why do you even care so damn much?” Jack asked as he looked over at Clay.
“The question is why are you mad at me for caring about my nephew and wanting the absolute best for him?”
Ever since you had gotten back to Louisville, you were somewhat in a daze because of what had happened. The first thing you did when you reached Kentucky was try and call Jack again, but your attempt was still unsuccessful. The weekend was coming up and on Wednesday, Clay had sent you a text to ask if he could get Ace this weekend and take him to a soccer game which you quickly agreed to, under one condition of course.
Clay could not under any circumstances bring Ace close to Jack until he came to his senses which he had quickly agreed with.
But the first thing that he asked you is how you were doing and what was going through your mind.
“Y/N, he told us what he wanted to do and me and my mom immediately shut it down, but I don't think he took what we said seriously.” Clay breathed out and all you did was sigh.
“Clay, I am so sorry about what I'm about to say, but how do people even remotely like your brother? Because he has been nothing but a rude asshole to me since the time I told him I was pregnant. It didn't start out that way of course, but this person that everyone loves and adores? I've never met him.” You said while being completely honest.
“I… Y/N, you have to believe me when I say he didn't used to be like this. We were close and told each other everything, but now ever since I found the DNA test, getting him to talk to me is like pulling teeth. I want to help as much as I can and what you're asking him to do is reasonable. I suggested that he talk to you so that the two of you could come up with an agreement regarding Ace, but he wasn't trying to hear it. Why did you go to Philadelphia anyway?”
“Because one of the people who actually loved me was still alive in this world and I had no idea. My grandmother. And I got to see her before she died. The rest of my family is dead and I was in foster care since I was nine even though she tried to find me. She never did and my Aunt called me out of the blue and was the person who gave me up and put me in the system when her sister died because she didn't like her who was my mother and I don't even know how she found me but I was robbed. I felt that I was alone in this world because the people that I loved and loved me back were dead. My grandfather died still looking for me and he never got the chance to know that I was okay. Jack didn't even ask me or give me a chance to tell him that before he immediately went and jumped down my throat. He thought because I had mentioned moving back home and buying the house that I grew up in for Ace that I was going to take him away from him because that's where I was. I see how happy Ace is when he's around him so why would I do that? To have my baby suffer? I want them to have a relationship, but if he is going to act like this towards me, he cannot be around Ace until he gets his shit all the way together and I will move away to protect myself and my child. I have a feeling that when he sees him that he'll just take him just to spite me. I honestly think your brother hates me.”
“I…. I'm not defending him or making excuses and my brother is a lot of things but I don't think he hates you. I think he's scared because he messed up and in this weird twisted way he thinks that he's fixing it by doing this. I honestly think that he believes that Ace is going to grow up to despise him when he finds out what he did and especially what he did to you and is trying for that not to happen.”
“Clay, all I wanted was for him to help me take care of Ace. That's it. I didn't ask for any of this.” You said as you tried not to cry.
“I know and all of this is only hurting him in the end.”
Saturday finally rolled around and you were now dropping Ace off to be with Clay for the weekend around nine in the morning when the last person that you ever wanted to see decided to make his presence known.
You felt as soon as you had gotten pregnant that the entire world was against you and that no matter if you did everything right, you still wouldn't be able to win. But let’s be real, the world had forever changed through your eyes since you were nine years old.
“Clay, why is his jeep pulling into your driveway?” You said through gritted teeth and Clay looked over with wide eyes as Ace was excitedly jumping up and down.
“I didn't tell him, I swear I didn't.” Was all he whispered to you as you had a pissed off look on your face.
“That’s daddy's car! Is he coming with us too?” He asked as he looked up at Clay, but he didn't get a chance to answer before Jack was making his way towards all three of you.
“Daddy!” Ace exclaimed while reaching for him, but you quickly hid him behind you, leaving him confused.
“Y/N, let me see my son. You wanted me to have a relationship with him, right? So let me do that without you interfering.”
“Jack…” Clay started to say and Jack immediately cut him off.
“You ignored my calls and didn't even let me explain what happened and all of a sudden you show up out of the blue and demand to see someone that you barely take care of? Explain that and explain why you are such a fucking asshole to me when I have literally hardly asked you for ANYTHING? Because let's be real for a second. If I wanted to tell the world what kind of person you are, I would have done it four years ago.”
“Uh oh, mommy said a bad word.” Was all you heard Ace say from behind you and Jack got a pissed off look on his face.
“Ace, don't repeat it either.” You quickly said and he simply nodded.
“What is there to explain when your actions definitely spoke louder than your words did? My plans haven't changed. And you can break the NDA if you want, but think of all the money you would have to pay me. Did you bother to read the fine print before you signed it? He's going to be with me whether you like it or not. Ace, don't you want to live with daddy all the time?”
Ace peeked out from behind you to answer.
“With you and mommy?! All the time!?”
“Nope, just us. You and me.”
“Wait, then where will mommy be?”
“At her apartment. You'll be able to still see her…. Sometimes.”
Ace immediately shook his head no when Jack told him that and hugged your legs tighter.
“No. I'm not leaving my mommy. I don't like that idea.”
All Jack did was sigh as you simply looked at him.
“You know what? On second thought, Ace I think it's better if you just spend the day with me instead.” You said not wanting to deal with anything or anyone anymore.
“Can we get ice cream for breakfast?”
“At this point, you can get anything you want and I'm going to make sure of it.” You responded to him all while holding eye contact with Jack.
“You know what, Jackman? I have never and will never speak bad about you in front of him, but my patience is absolutely gone. I have given you chance after chance and all you do is disappoint me. Do your parents have any idea of the kind of person that they raised because I highly doubt they are proud of how you have acted towards me and him for the last almost four years. So with all that being said, I am giving you one last chance for us to talk about this like adults. I'm sure we can come to an agreement regarding him because taking him from you was never my intention despite what you may think. I'm willing to give you a clean slate.”
Jack rolled his eyes before he looked as if he was thinking it over for a minute as Ace once again peeked out from behind your leg to look at him. You thought for sure that he was going to say yes, but he quickly shook his head no.
“We'll let the court deal with it.”
Your jaw was on the floor, but you quickly recovered and simply shrugged.
“Hmm. Just remember when this doesn't end well for you, how many chances I tried to give you in order to do right by him and to do right by me. You asked for this.” Was all you said before leading Ace back to your car and strapping him in the back in his car seat before driving off.
When your car disappeared down the street,  Clay simply turned to look at Jack and was in a state of disbelief.
“Why do you have to make things so fucking difficult? Now because of your dumbass, she probably isn't going to let me see him either!”
“I… Clay, he deserves to be with someone who can give him everything he wants. Y/N is just a teacher and a preschool teacher at that. In Kentucky. She doesn't make enough money to take care of him and barely makes enough to take care of herself.”
“That's why she asks you for help! She didn't make Ace by herself! You are just as responsible for him as she is! But I will say, even if she doesn't make enough money, there was never a time when I got Ace that he wasn't taken care of like he should be. And she gave you the opportunity to talk to her and you STILL didn't take it. I honestly think when she had Ace that you lost brain cells.”
“It's going to work out in the end how it should. You'll see.”
“The only thing that I see is your ass crying in a corner somewhere. And you better be prepared to hear me say “I told you so.’”
The day had finally arrived and Blaire decided to take Ace out for the day while you dealt with the person who was considered his sperm donor. But all in all you were nervous. Deep down you knew that Jack probably didn't stand a chance, but you still couldn't help but to worry. Ace was literally all you had left in this world and you would be damned if someone tried to take the little piece of happiness that you did have away from you.
Once you had gotten to the courthouse and was quickly ushered into the courtroom, you also saw Clay as well as Jack's parents sitting behind him along with his manager who you now knew as Neelam.
Jack made eye contact with you and you quickly looked away, focusing on what was to come. You were just ready for this entire thing to be over with.
“All rise.” You heard as the judge made her presence known and prayed that the decision that she made was in your favor.
“You may be seated. We are here today in a custody case concerning the child by the name of Ace Y/L/N and the father Jackman Harlow seeking full custody from the child's mother Y/N Y/L/N. Mr. Harlow, state as to why you feel that you should have full custody of Ace.”
“Your honor, I should have full custody because I am the more stable parent. I make the most money in order to supply any need that he might have and I would be able to provide a good life for him.”
“So you believe that Ms. Y/L/N isn't able to do that?”
“She doesn't make enough money to take care of Ace and barely makes enough money to take care of herself. There is no reason why my child should struggle if he doesn't have to.”
“Hmm, okay. Now Ms. Y/L/N explain to me why Ace should be with you.”
“Because I am his primary caregiver and have been since the day he was born. Jack wasn't even at the hospital because he believed that I was lying about Ace being his and tried to trap him. Even when he got the DNA test to prove this, he has not been a consistent figure in his life. I would have to beg him for simple things such as diapers and he would still refuse to help me. However, his brother Clay has been in his life since he was a month old and has been there for me whenever I needed him. Jack has only been in Ace’s life consistently for the past 5 months and that only happened after he got mad when Ace accidentally called Clay his father. He would sometimes give me money for daycare and it's a discounted price since it's in the same school I work in. At first I thought he was changing for the better, but instead he accused me of trying to take Ace away from him when I went to Philadelphia because of a family emergency. My grandmother, who I thought was dead, was actually alive and I was able to see her before she did pass away the day after I got there. I didn't get a chance to tell him what happened since I was so focused on trying to make sure that I got there in time and from that point on refused to even hear what I had to say. I gave him the opportunity for us to discuss Ace without the court being involved but he refused.”
Jack's mouth was now hanging wide open as he finally heard the full story, but quickly composed himself. Clay hadn’t bothered to tell him since he knew that this would probably become a topic of discussion in court anyway. Since Jack refused to hear you out, he had to learn the hard way.
“Fuck.” Was all he said under his breath and knew that this wasn't about to go over well no matter how hard he tried now.
“Your honor, my immediate family is dead and has been since I was nine years old. They died in a car accident and I was the lone survivor. I was put into the foster care system and remained there until I was eighteen. My son is literally all I have and I can't fathom not having him with me all the time.”
You didn't look in Jack’s direction, but could hear Maggie audibly gasp from behind him since everything was now on the table. You figured that at this point, you had nothing to lose. He brought this on himself, and instead of talking to you like an able adult that he is, he wanted to do it the hard way.
“So, Mr. Harlow, you've only been in your son's life consistently for the past five months? And yet you request full custody?”
“Yes, your honor.”
“Now let me ask you this. You honestly believe that you’re the more stable parent even though Ace has a roof over his head, clothes on his back, and gets properly taken care of by evidence given to me by Ms. Y/L/N?”
“Well….”
“What is your actual argument here? Because as far as I'm concerned you are wasting everyone's time. You haven't even been giving her money to cover everyday expenses for him and you haven't been consistent and she gave you the opportunity to do that outside of a courtroom. But she still makes sure that he is taken care of. So this is what I'm going to do. You are going to pay her 40,000 dollars a month in child support and that is including the back child support starting from when he was born. You are also going to continue to pay for daycare. Ms. Y/L/N is going to have full custody, but you can have him every other weekend with supervised visits to start. You will be able to have him every other holiday and because she is the primary parent, she does not have to ask your permission to take him across state lines.”
By now, Jack's mouth was hanging wide open as Clay was behind him and simply hung his head. Your heart had been racing the entire time that she was reading what her decision was going to be and was happy that it worked out in your favor. But at the same time despite what he had done to you, your heart was breaking for Jack.
“Both of you have a good day and Mr. Harlow, next weekend will be your first one with Ace.” Once you heard the sound of her gavel, you started to make your way outside to your car, but was immediately stopped by Jack who had lightly touched your wrist. All you did was turn to look at him.
“Y/N….” He started to say, but you immediately shook your head.
“I never wanted this, but you made me do it. Remember that” Was all you said as you continued to walk away while Jack stood there in silence. Maggie came to stand next to him on his right side while taking his hand in hers.
“I hate this for you, but you can never say that I didn't warn you.” She quietly said as Clay was quickly typing away on his phone.
“She kept trying to avoid this, but you just had to try and prove her wrong and now look at what happened.”
“I need a drink.” Was the only thing Jack said before exiting the courtroom.
He went to the bathroom in order to splash some cold water on his face in an attempt to get himself to calm down as his breathing had now become erratic when a text came through on his phone from Clay.
Clay- I told you so smh

Short love: Prologue
Tumblr media
Summary: The is about widowed father Bradley Bradshaw who enlists his brother-in-law Jake Seresin and childhood best friend Robert Floyd to help raise his three daughters, eldest Donna Jo Margaret (D.J for short), middle child Stephanie and youngest Michelle in his San Diego home.
Pairing: Jake "Hangman" Seresin x Reader
Warning: Fluff
In the warm embrace of the morning sun, Y/n stood in Bradley's cozy kitchen, a sense of excitement bubbling within her as she prepared to whip up a batch of pancakes from scratch. The tantalizing aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, mingling with the sweet scent of vanilla and cinnamon that would soon infuse the fluffy pancakes.
With a deft hand, Y/n measured out flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt into a mixing bowl, the ingredients coming together in a cloud of soft white powder. She cracked eggs into the bowl, their golden yolks adding richness to the batter, and poured in a splash of creamy milk.
As she whisked the ingredients together, Y/n's mind drifted back to fond memories of lazy Sunday mornings spent in her grandmother's kitchen, learning the art of pancake-making from the master herself. She smiled at the thought, grateful for the tradition that had been passed down through generations.
Adding a dollop of melted butter and a hint of pure maple syrup to the batter, Y/n stirred until it was smooth and silky, the mixture taking on a golden hue that promised deliciousness with every bite. With a satisfied nod, she set the bowl aside to rest, allowing the flavours to meld and develop while she heated up the griddle.
The sizzle of butter hitting the hot surface filled the kitchen as Y/n ladled spoonful's of batter onto the griddle, each one spreading out into perfect circles of golden goodness. She watched with anticipation as bubbles formed on the surface of the pancakes, signalling that it was time to flip them over to cook on the other side.
With a flick of her wrist, Y/n expertly flipped the pancakes, their edges turning crisp and golden as they cooked to perfection. The kitchen was filled with the mouth-watering aroma of caramelized sugar and warm spices, beckoning her nieces to the breakfast table with eager anticipation.
As Y/n finished up the last batch of pancakes, she heard the sound of footsteps approaching from the hallway. Moments later, Stephanie and DJ, her two oldest nieces, appeared in the kitchen, their faces lighting up with surprise and delight at the sight of the delicious breakfast spread before them.
"Good morning, Aunt Y/n!" Stephanie exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement. "What's all this?"
Y/n turned to greet them, her smile widening at the sight of their eager expressions. "Good morning, girls!" she replied, her voice warm and jovial. "I thought I'd whip up a little breakfast treat for my favourite nieces."
DJ and Stephanie exchanged a look of disbelief, their eyes widening in astonishment. "You made all this?" DJ asked, her voice tinged with amazement.
Y/n nodded proudly, gesturing towards the table where plates of fluffy pancakes, bowls of fresh fruit, and pitchers of maple syrup awaited them. "All from scratch," she confirmed, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes.
Stephanie and DJ wasted no time in helping themselves to the delicious spread, their mouths watering at the sight and smell of the pancakes. They piled their plates high with pancakes, drizzling them generously with syrup and adding a handful of fresh berries on the side.
As they dug into their breakfast, laughter and conversation filled the kitchen, the sound of their voices blending harmoniously with the clink of forks against plates. Y/n watched them with pride, her heart swelling with love for her nieces and the joy of being able to spoil them with a homemade breakfast. Together, they savoured each mouthful of pancakes, savouring the warmth and comfort of being together as a family.
As Y/n sat at the kitchen table with her two nieces, DJ and Stephanie, the aroma of freshly made pancakes filled the air, mingling with the excitement bubbling within her. With a warm smile, she decided to share with them stories of her recent geographic news reporting trip to Australia, a journey that had taken her to the far reaches of the continent.
"DJ, Stephanie, did I ever tell you about my recent trip to Australia for work?" Y/n began, her voice filled with anticipation.
The girls shook their heads, their eyes wide with curiosity as they eagerly dug into their pancakes.
"Well, let me tell you, it was an adventure unlike any other," Y/n continued, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she recounted her memories.
"As a geographic news reporter, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to some of the most remote and breath-taking locations in Australia. From the rugged Outback to the lush rainforests, I witnessed the stunning diversity of landscapes that make up this vast continent."
DJ and Stephanie listened intently, their pancake-filled mouths forgotten as they hung on Y/n's every word.
"I explored ancient Aboriginal sites, where rock art told the stories of generations past. I trekked through dense rainforests, where towering trees and cascading waterfalls created a sense of wonder and awe."
The girls gasped in amazement, their imaginations sparked by Y/n's vivid descriptions.
"But do you know what was truly remarkable?" Y/n asked, her voice filled with wonder.
"What?" DJ and Stephanie chimed in unison.
"The people," Y/n replied, her voice tinged with admiration. "I met incredible individuals who were deeply connected to the land and its rich cultural heritage. From Aboriginal elders sharing their wisdom to local communities welcoming me with open arms, I was constantly inspired by their resilience and strength."
As they finished their pancakes, DJ and Stephanie bombarded Y/n with questions about her trip, eager to learn more about the fascinating experiences she had encountered. And as Y/n shared more stories and answered their curious inquiries, she knew that her nieces were already dreaming of their own adventures, inspired by the tales of distant lands and faraway journeys.
In the bustling kitchen of the Bradshaw household, Y/n watched the clock anxiously as her two nieces, DJ and Stephanie, leisurely nibbled on their pancakes. With each passing second, her sense of urgency grew, knowing that they were perilously close to missing their school bus.
"Come on, girls, hurry up! You need to finish your pancakes quickly so we can get you to the bus stop on time," Y/n urged, her voice tinged with urgency.
DJ and Stephanie glanced at each other, their eyes widening with realization as they realized the gravity of the situation. With newfound determination, they began to eat with renewed speed, their pancakes disappearing in record time.
As Y/n bustled around the kitchen, packing their backpacks and gathering their coats, she couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration at the time ticking away. The school bus would be arriving any minute, and she dreaded the thought of having to drive them to school herself.
"Come on, girls, we need to go!" Y/n called out, her voice tinged with urgency as she ushered them out the door.
With a final gulp of orange juice and a hasty goodbye, DJ and Stephanie scrambled out of their chairs and raced to the front door, their backpacks slung over their shoulders.
As they hurried down the front steps and onto the sidewalk, Y/n breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that they had made it just in time. With a quick wave goodbye, she watched as they boarded the school bus, their faces flushed with excitement and the thrill of making it just in time.
As the bus pulled away from the curb and disappeared around the corner, Y/n couldn't help but smile. Despite the chaos and rush of the morning, she knew that she wouldn't have it any other way. After all, these were the moments that made being an aunt so special.
In the early morning hustle and bustle of the Bradshaw household, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed down the stairs as Bradley rushed into the kitchen, baby Michelle cradled in his arms. His face was a mix of determination and concern as he quickly scanned the room.
"Y/n, I'm running late for work," Bradley exclaimed, his voice filled with urgency as he handed Michelle over to his roommate. "Can you watch Michelle for me while I grab my briefcase?"
Y/n, caught off guard by her friend's sudden appearance, quickly adjusted to the situation, taking Michelle into her arms with practiced ease. "Of course, Bradley," she replied, her voice calm and reassuring. "I've got her. Don't worry."
With a grateful nod, Bradley dashed back up the stairs, his footsteps echoing through the house as he hurried to gather his belongings. Y/n watched him go, a fond smile playing on her lips as she cradled Michelle close.
As the minutes ticked by, Y/n soothed Michelle with gentle words and soft caresses, the baby content in her aunt's loving embrace. She hummed a soft lullaby, the melody filling the air with warmth and comfort.
Finally, Bradley reappeared in the kitchen, his briefcase in hand and a grateful smile on his face. "Thank you, Y/n," he said, his voice filled with gratitude as he leaned in to kiss Michelle on the forehead. "I couldn't have done it without you."
Y/n smiled back, her heart swelling with love for her friend and her precious niece. "Anytime, Brad," she replied, her voice filled with warmth. "You know I'm always here for you and Michelle."
With a quick goodbye, Bradley rushed out the door, his footsteps fading into the distance as he headed off to work. Left alone in the kitchen with Michelle, Y/n couldn't help but feel a sense of fulfilment wash over her. Despite the chaos of the morning, moments like these reminded her of the bond that held their family together, strong and unbreakable.
With Bradley gone and the kitchen now quiet, Y/n cradled Michelle in her arms, the baby's warm weight a comforting presence against her chest. As she gazed down at her tiny niece, Y/n couldn't help but marvel at the innocence and beauty of this small, precious life in her care.
With practiced ease, Y/n reached for a bottle of warm formula, prepared earlier in anticipation of moments like this. She settled into a cozy armchair by the window, the morning sunlight casting a gentle glow over the room, and carefully positioned the bottle for Michelle to latch onto.
Michelle, ever the eager eater, eagerly accepted the bottle, her hungry suckles filling the air with a soft rhythm. Y/n watched with a mixture of tenderness and awe as the baby drank, her heart swelling with love for this little bundle of joy.
As Michelle nursed, Y/n gently stroked her soft cheek, whispering words of love and reassurance. She marvelled at the bond that had formed between them, a connection that transcended words and filled her with a sense of purpose and belonging.
Time seemed to stand still as Y/n and Michelle shared this intimate moment, the outside world fading away as they basked in the warmth of each other's presence. In the quiet stillness of the morning, surrounded by love and tenderness, Y/n knew that she was exactly where she was meant to be.
And as Michelle finished her bottle with a contented sigh, her eyelids growing heavy with drowsiness, Y/n held her close, savouring the precious moments of peace and quiet. In these simple moments, she found joy and fulfilment, knowing that she was fulfilling her role as both aunt and caregiver with all the love in her heart.
With baby Michelle nestled in her arms, her tiny fingers curling around Y/n's, the aunt couldn't resist engaging in a little conversation with her niece.
"You know, Michelle," Y/n began, her voice soft and gentle, "we're going to have some special visitors later today. Uncle Bob and Uncle Jake are moving in with us for a while."
Michelle's bright eyes blinked up at Y/n, her small mouth forming a curious O-shape. Y/n chuckled at the adorable expression, feeling a surge of affection for the little one in her arms.
"They're going to be staying with us for a little bit while they get settled," Y/n continued, her tone warm and reassuring. "It's going to be so much fun having them around. They're going to make you laugh and smile, just like they always do."
As Y/n spoke, Michelle cooed softly in response, her eyes fixed on her aunt's face as if trying to understand every word. Y/n couldn't help but marvel at the way Michelle seemed to be taking in everything around her, her innocence and curiosity a constant source of joy.
"I think you're going to love having them here, Michelle," Y/n said, her voice filled with excitement. "They're going to be the best uncles ever, I just know it."
With a contented sigh, Y/n hugged Michelle a little tighter, feeling grateful for the bond they shared and the adventures that lay ahead with their extended family. And as she rocked Michelle gently in her arms, she couldn't wait to see the smiles and laughter that Uncle Bob and Uncle Jake would bring into their lives once they arrived later that day.

Full Name and Family Headcanons
For the extended 141 family plus the fruity bastard betrayer (derogatory (affectionate)), some more complete than others. If any of this is directly contradicted by canon, I don't care, that's why they're headcanons
Soap
John Steven Donald MacTavish
Two loving parents, the youngest with at least 3 older siblings, all sisters. Closely enough related to the Chief of the Name and Arms of MacTavish to a) be considered low upper class and b) know his exact place in the line of hereditary succession. Also the kilt he wears on special occasions is always the modern MacTavish tartan, do your research. Grew up in Bonnyrigg outside Edinburgh and is emotionally attached to Sir Salter Scott
Ghost
Simon Lorcán Riley
Same family and circumstances as '09 Ghost (extremely poor, abusive dad, oldest of two boys), but give him loving maternal grandparents and three cousins. He's Irish by ethnicity and heritage, which a few family members kept alive and passed down to him, but British by nationality. His great-great-(great-?)grandparents migrated to Manchester during the Great Hunger, but his aunt moved back to Ballylongford where some of the family originally lived. His cousins and maternal grandmother are all alive but think he's dead and he keeps it that way for their safety. His middle name is after his maternal grandfather who died when he was young and was given to him by his grandma. I do also hc he's trans and have a deadname headcanon for him but I don't share those. The specific neighborhood he grew up in inside Manchester was Beswick
Gaz
Kyle Adam Garrick
Grew up in Brixton in London, relatively poor with two loving but working parents, but also with an enormous tight-knit community and more neighborhood aunties and uncles and cousins than he knew what to do with. Has one baby sister but she's 20 years younger than him so she's a baby baby and he was already enlisted and moved out when she was born
Price
John Matthew Price
Grew up in Anfield in Liverpool, near the football stadium. Avid fan, ropes Ghost into Liverpool vs Man United debates every season. Ghost doesn't even like football. Middle class, working dad and stay at home mom, older sister, younger sister
Roach
Gary Parker Sanderson
Working poor, older sister, younger brother
Laswell
Katherine Emma Laswell
Middle class child of divorce, no step-siblings or step-parents, lesbian wine aunt who's basically Kate Kane (coincidentally Kate's favorite superhero)
Nikolai
Nikolai Antonovich Pokrovsky
Absent parents, one younger sister
Farah
Farah Leyla Karim
Canon family - two loving parents killed by AQ, one older brother. Her middle name is the Georgian spelling of the Arabic name Layla (see my post about Urzikstan and Abkhazia for why this spelling)
Alex
Alexander Jeremiah Keller
Two older sisters, two triplet sisters (one an hour older, one three hours younger), two younger sisters, single mom, also raised by aunt and grandmother
Alejandro
Alejandro Ernesto Vargas Leon
Grew up working poor, dad died when he was three, mom had to work, older brother 4ys older took jobs for the cartel starting at 12-ish to make ends meet and left Ale as the "man of the house" at 8. Also has one 4ys younger sister (same dad, mom was pregnant) and 12ys younger twin baby brothers (different dad who chose not to be in the picture, oopsie babies). He loves the twins but wants to hang them upside down by their shoelaces more often than not, his sister is just as mischievous but more mature and subtle about it which made her easier to raise
Rudy
Rodolfo Ildefonso Parra Rosales
Born into a poor family, cartel killed his parents when he was three, adopted by a single mom after that. His new family is unrelated to the Cartel but his bisabuela is just as feared and respected as El Sin Nombre and La Araña before her, if not more in some parts of the city. Learned his best chancla skills from her. Only child but grew up in a massive multigenerational multifamily home with at least 20 older cousins - was the baby until he was 7 and now he's the second youngest
Graves
Phillip Windsor Graves
Upper class, born to parents who had an heir to the company because it was expected of them but who didn't actually want or like kids. Essentially raised by a rotating cast of nannies

Today was the day Auston was meeting your family. It happened to be your mum’s birthday and she was having a family dinner. Auston had already met her and your half siblings, but he was yet to meet your aunt and nana.  The pair had travelled to come visit for her birthday. Something you weren’t looking forward to. Well not your grandmother because you love her. Just your aunt.
She was known in your family for favouring your oldest sister. Everyone knew it; all your siblings, your mother, your nana. Even your closest friends. Your sister was the daughter she never had yet you couldn’t make her proud… Despite being a world champion in your own sport. She on the other hand was an academic turned personal trainer. She is married now with a kid, your niece Chloe. One that your aunt adored as well.
You and Auston pulled up to your childhood home in the outskirts of Toronto. It was a quiet area that you enjoyed growing up in. By the amount of cars in the yard, you two were the last to arrive. Auston grabbed out your container of homemade brownies plus the birthday present before the pair of you made your way inside.
“Mum!”
A variety of footsteps were heard. Included the pitter patter of your niece. The 4 year old rounded the corner, running straight at the two of you. “Uncle Auston!”
The man besides you laughs as he lifts up Chloe into his arms. She was quick to wrap her arms around him, starting to tell him about her first few weeks at school. Your mum hugged you first while Auston was busy with your niece.
“Happy birthday Mum.”
“Thank you baby,” Mum smiled, “I’m glad you and Aus could make it. I’ve missed you both.”
Auston passed Chloe to you before getting a hug from your mum as well. They had been close over the years of your relationship with the hockey player. He loved being close to your family, coming over for dinner whenever the pair of you could. When his schedule allows it that is.
“Happy birthday,” Auston grins, handing her her birthday present. The pair of you had gotten her a bottle of her favourite perfume bottle and some other bath products. Oh and a voucher for a day at her favourite spa. “I’m looking forward to the pizza for dinner.”
“Well now you two are here we can get started on making them.”
Everyone gathered in the kitchen, around the dining table where the pizza making station had been set up. Both you and Auston greet your siblings and the couple partners. Then your nana walked in. She was your typical grandmother, short, grey hair with a warm smile. One that was always a welcomed sight.
“Hello sweetheart,” Nana smiled. You had to lean down to hug the woman. “How have you been?”
“I’ve been good thanks. Nan, this is my boyfriend, Auston. Aus, this is my Nan, Sue.”
Nana brought Auston straight in for a hug. “It’s lovely to meet the boy who treats my little girl like a princess.”
Then came your aunt. She stood beside your mum. Just like every other time, she didn’t hug you, no smile. “Hey darl.”
“Hey, this is my boyfriend, Auston.”
She nodded in return. One you got a lot. And one that Auston knew pisses you off. After years of treatment, you were used to it but it still made you mad. Your Aunt’s eyes looked you up and down. The judgy look all too familiar. Her eyes in particular came to stop at your prominent scar running down your abdomen. It was one you were proud of as well. Auston spotted this and was quick to pull you in, hand resting on the scar. He had worked hard to get you to finally think it wasn’t ugly. He wasn’t going to let a judgy family member make you think otherwise.
Without so much as another word, the rest of your family started talking again. Making the pizzas was easy. Auston and yourself agreed on a simple pepperoni pizza. You snuck to the garage to grab yourself and Auston a drink. Well you shotgunned one before grabbing two cans and heading back to the kitchen.
Whilst waiting on them to cook, everyone sat around the table on the patio. Your Aunt sat beside your eldest sister. Asking her about her life and everything in between. You watched on as no-one asked you about your life.
“How’s training been?” Nan asked you. Someone finally deciding paying your attention.
You explained what’s been going on recently with your sport. Talking about your up and coming competitions. Everyone else was listening but your Aunt. Auston noticed this. Watching how while you talked passionately and excitedly about your passion, your Aunt just scrolled through her phone. He knew this was also the first time in a year that she had seen you.
Mid sentence she cut you off, directing the attention of everyone to your sister. Auston saw you deflate. Your confidence that he loved is gone before his eyes. He slipped his hand through yours, leaning over to press a kiss to your temple. You leaned into him for comfort.
“I’ll help you mum,” You spoke up when your mum went to pull out the pizzas.
Auston watched you go back into the kitchen with both your mother and nana. Leaving him with your siblings and your aunt.
“She’s put on weight, yeah?” Your aunt pointed out, looking at the woman beside her.
Your sister hadn’t ever seen how you were treated. Or never realised. Sure, you had spoken about how she was the favourite. But never had she heard your aunt so blatantly speak like that about you.
“She’s been working hard during her training,” Auston replied.
Your aunt shrugged, “She’s always been fat.”
He couldn’t believe it. Someone who definitely was classed as obese had the audacity to make a comment about his active, healthy girlfriend.
“Aunty…”
“I’m just looking out for her,” Your aunt dismisses. “How is she supposed to keep her superstar boyfriend if she can’t look after herself?”
A pizza was slammed down on the table in front of her making her jump. To Auston’s horror, you had heard her comment. Something that he knew would trigger you. Especially after the issue of all the fan comments you had to contend with mentally. All the hate comments.
“I just can’t please you, can I?”
“Oh please, stop complaining.”
Your mum had come out of the kitchen to the sight of you seething off to the side of your aunt. Auston was on the edge of his seat. Everyone else around the table looked uncomfortable.
“You okay?” Your mum asked you.
You shook your head, “I’m sick of being the disappointment.”
Without so much as another word, you sniffled and left. Probably to go hide in your old bedroom. Everyone just watched you leave the patio. Auston stood up to follow. Not before turning to your aunt.
“She’s known she wasn’t the favourite since she was 15. But she still never spoke badly about you. And yet you can’t be nice to save your life.” He looked around at your siblings, all sitting quietly. He knew that you and your oldest sister were the only one blood related to your aunt. Your other siblings were through your sister’s dad’s side. “She puts up with you because of your family and is told to respect her elders. But I won’t let you talk about her like that.”
Auston left everyone outside and followed in your footsteps. He could hear your sniffles from down the hallway. He knocked on your bedroom door. Once he got a quiet come in, he opened the door. Your bedroom was so you. It was the only way he could explain it. You were sitting on your bed,  a pair of airpods you had found in your room in your ears. It was your way of escaping your feelings.
“Hey,” Auston whispered, pressing a kiss to your forehead before taking a seat beside you.
You didn’t say anything, only handed him a bud. Your favourite song was playing. Auston pulled you onto his lap, wrapping his arms around you. Letting you snuggle into him for comfort.
“Thank you.”
Auston chuckles, “How do you know I did anything?”
“I know you Aus,” You mumble, pressing a kiss to his lips.
“I’ll always be on your side. You’re my favourite and that won’t ever change.”
“What about your mum?” You ask. You know he and Ema are close.
“She’ll be happy knowing I found the girl I want to marry.”

"How was school?" Isa turned around, looking at her mother, who was finishing preparing the meal.
"Well, I have a lot of homework for the weekend, but… I passed history!" he said excitedly, walking towards her to show her the photo he had taken of the exam that his teacher showed him hours before.
"Congratulations, darling!" He gave her two kisses, one on each cheek, with emotion and a small hug. "I'll take out the cake I bought the other day at the supermarket to celebrate, go up to wash your hands and call your father and your brothers."
"Okay, I'll be right back to help you with the table."
After going and showing his exam to his father, Isa washed his hands and went to his younger brothers' room, Leo, he was twelve, while Javi was eight, both were unruly, but Isa loved them very much.
"Dwarves, let's eat," he said, entering the room that the children shared. They were both playing play, they turned around, looked at her, and returned their gaze to the television, ignoring it greatly.
"Look at you, how cute." She walked to where the TV remote was located and turned it off.
"isa!" They both yelled, getting up from their place at the same time, she began to laugh as she ran down the stairs.
When she was about to get to the kitchen, Javi threw himself on her back and ended up knocking her to the ground, Leo didn't take long to arrive and between the two of them they began to tickle his sister. who just laughed and rolled around on the floor, trying to tickle them both too.
"Okay, children, I think Isa has already been punished, now help me with the table," said their mother, passing in front of them with the food.
And as two soldiers both got up and went to do what she asked, Isa got up from the ground with her hair in a mess and looked at them surprised with her arms crossed, her parents just laughed.
"I miss the time when they did everything I asked of them," he said, putting the glasses on the table.
"To think that you will be the one who has to take them and look for them at parties."
"But she never goes to a party," Leo said, his parents couldn't contain their laughter, the oldest opened her mouth offended, and then gave her brother a spanking.
🕸️☄️♡🪐
"well, isa, honey, how was school? some boy?"
"Oh yes, honey, tell us, do you already have a boyfriend? It's just that your boring mother doesn't tell us anything."
The girl looked at her aunts smiling awkwardly.
Why did family reunions always end like this?
"It's better not," said his uncle Javier this time.
being the first and only girl in the family had started to stop being fun as soon as she turned sixteen, with her aunts seeming desperate for even the slightest bit of information about her love life, her uncles and older cousins opposed to any amorous interaction. Well, they claimed that "at seventeen you're still too young to live those experiences" and Leo kept reminding her that she was lonelier than one, she didn't know if she wanted to get a boyfriend or not.
"Things are still the same as last week, and the week before, and the week before that." Isa joked, making some laugh.
"I think you should go out more," said one of her aunts.
"My friend Ramona has a son your age, he's lovely, Isa," said another, and they all nodded.
"Leave my little girl alone." Her grandmother left the kitchen and made her way to where Isa was, she kissed her head and took her hand. "Isa is a good girl, I'm sure it's hard to get to some guy worthy of her, but she will, and when she does, it will be her decision to share it with us… or not." She said this last thing looking at her daughters, they pretended to look elsewhere, which made Isa laughed.
"Thank you," she whispered to her grandmother, taking her hand.
"your welcome gorgeous."
The days passed, Isa hadn't left home because she was studying for her final exams, her friends wrote to her every weekend complaining about her absence when they went out to parties, but Isa promised to make it up to them as soon as the exams were over. they would go anywhere they wanted, and she couldn't complain or refuse under any circumstances.
"I think I'm beginning to regret this," she said, looking at the shirts her friends left on her bed.
Barcelona was a big city, there was no doubt about that, and that was why Isa wondered why of all the places they had to go (bars, museums, she was even willing to go to discos), her friends chose to go to the Camp Nou stadium.
she wasn't even a soccer fan.
"You'll see how much fun you're going to have, isa."
"Yes, girl, besides, the players are hot." She just rolled her eyes and laughed.
"what's my shirt?"
"We'll all wear the same one, it'll be better that way," said Aitana, one of her friends, smiling, as she put on hers.
"Who is Gavi?" Isa asked, looking at the name on the back of the shirt she would be wearing.
the five girls that were in the room turned to her.
"one of the players."
"Damn, Marta, girl, if you don't tell me I won't realize it." Isa said, making everyone laugh. "I mean, why are we all going to wear his shirt as if we were his proud aunts going to their first game?" .
"because we like it."
"Well, they'll meet him at home and at lunchtime, because it doesn't ring a bell to me," she said, making everyone laugh and start throwing pillows at her.
After finishing making up and dressing, they said goodbye to Isa's family, who couldn't help but laugh at the girl's face.
"Enjoy the game, darling," his father told him, mockingly.
Although he was somewhat surprised, being a great fan of Barcelona, he had tried to take her to a game after she grew up, thousands of times, but each time she found some excuse and got away, so seeing her dressed in the team's shirt and with cheeks painted in the colors of the club, I catch him a little off guard.
they took a taxi to the venue, once they arrived, showed their tickets, walked to their spots and sat down, the warm up wouldn't start until a few minutes later. Isa turned her head several times in search of a nearby bathroom, it had been a bad decision to drink all that Coca-Cola at home.
"girls, I'll be right back, I have to go to the bathroom."
"We would accompany you, but the warm-ups are about to start and we don't miss that for nothing, but if you get lost call me and I'll run."
"Okay, okay, don't worry, I'll be right back." Isa took her bag and got out of there as fast as she could.
A few minutes later she was washing her hands, she looked at herself in the mirror and couldn't help but laugh at herself, she did seem like an authentic and passionate fan, after fixing her hair she left the bathroom, she heard some screams for what she supposed was the game was about to start.
"shit."
Isa could already add going to the bathroom alone to the list of bad decisions of the day, she had a pretty good streak, but the day wasn't over yet. She knew she was only screwing up more when she went into a place that didn't sound familiar to her. It was at that moment that she decided to take her cell phone to call her friends.
"Okay, okay, I understand, don't worry, I love you."
She looked up from her phone to see a guy in front of her, wearing a white sweatshirt and a tracksuit with what looked like a Barcelona embroidery. That one must be a fan, he thought he could help her find the way out, bad decision.
As soon as he noticed her presence, he ran the back of his hand over his cheek, even so, Isa saw what seemed to be the trail of tears, the boy frowned and suddenly became serious.
"You shouldn't be here," he said, with a cold tone, looking her up and down.
"Are you okay?" Isa asked, completely forgetting what her real intention was when approaching the boy.
"I don't go around telling my life to the first fan that comes my way."
That answer took her by surprise, she couldn't help but giggle.
"Fan? Who the hell do you think you are, man? I was just trying to be nice, fuck you."
She turned and heard him laugh behind her, she turned angrily.
"what?"
"Did you really think I wouldn't notice?" when you want someone not to know that you are their fan, better not wear their jersey to their game. "
then everything connected in his brain.
she knew she shouldn't wear that shitty shirt, it had been a bad decision, just as it had been a bad decision not to ask her friends to show her at least one photo of this gavi, who really was an asshole.
"Oh, so you're the famous gavi. Damn, you have to see that my friends only look at jerks." She said, as soon as she realized her words she covered her mouth.
He crossed his arms and a hint of what could be a smile appeared on his face.
"I'm not usually such a jerk, sorry, I thought you were some crazy person who snuck in to get information for the press. Also, this game is very important, I'm too nervous, my sister and parents are supposed to come, but They just called to tell me that they won't be able to be there." He sat on one of the benches in the place and began to put on his shoes.
"For someone who thought I was a freak looking for information for the press, I think you just told me a lot, didn't you? That sounds like a good headline." Isa joked, making him laugh. "You're going to do great, you'll see, and your parents and your sister will be very happy."
"How are you so sure? Unless you're a fucking actress, it seemed to me that until a few minutes ago you had no fucking idea of my existence."
"Because when I left the house with this shirt my father didn't say anything bad about you, so you must be good." She said, making him smile, while he put on his own shirt, Isa blushed, but since he didn't seem affected, She didn't want to be either. "If it makes you feel better, I can be your mother and scream until the whole stadium hears me." He denied smiling.
"I would like to see that. "
"No way, I was just saying that so you'd stop whining and go kick the other team's asses."
he laughed out loud.
"thanks for the honesty…"
"I'm Isabel, but better call me Isa."
"isa." he got up from his place and she smiled watching him fix his hair with his hand. "okay isa, I'll get you out of here before someone finds you and kicks you out of the stadium."
"That would be great, my friends probably think I went home."
They both walked to that exit that Isa remembered.
"Thank you very much for not being the jerk I thought."
"Thank you very much for not being the crazy information seeker I thought." They both smiled, he waved at her and went in the opposite direction.
"enjoy the match!"
"We'll see!" He smiled hearing her laugh.
As soon as she got to her place, she found her friends looking carefully towards the field, where most of the players were warming up, she couldn't help but laugh, they hadn't even realized how much time had passed.
"damn, isa, what a scare girl, we said that if you didn't arrive in ten minutes we would come for you"
"Ten minutes each?" she teased, making everyone laugh.
"Fuck! Shut up, here comes Gavi."
Isa directed her gaze to the field, where the boy was, he seemed lost, looking among the public, when he looked at the area where she was, the girl laughed, he smiled.
"Girls, girls, he's seen us."
"fuck, just see, he smiled at me."
"Does it look to me like someone smoked something before coming in."
they all started to fight, which only made isa laugh more, gavi seemed confused, she put her finger to her lip making a gesture of silence, which made him laugh, until his friends arrived and took him to where the the rest.
The rest of the first half was calm, sometimes Gavi and Isa exchanged quick sights, although she had been avoiding doing so, because of the feeling that appeared in her chest every time they did it, but when in the second half Gavi scored a goal, and her celebration was to make an I with her hand, Isa knew that she had screwed up.
"How was the game?" asked his father.
"Pretty good, they won three to zero." Isa said, sitting next to him on the sofa.
"I saw it, how weird is that new guy celebration? Gavi?"
"gavi?"
"daughter, you're wearing his shirt."
"Look, well, it doesn't sound like anything to me." I'm going to do homework, I love you." She kissed him on the cheek and went up to her room.
"A family dinner?" Gavi asked, laughing.
"Yes, annoying, my aunts insist on having dinners every two weeks to catch up on my sentimental situation and see how to make her happier." She said, putting on her earrings.
"I want to go with you."
Isa almost fell to the ground, she put the earring aside and looked at the screen of her phone where Gavi was smiling.
"Are you crazy? Why?" Isa asked, going back to what she was doing before.
After the match in which they met, Isa's father found a way to convince the whole family to go to Barcelona's next game, and as if fate was infatuated with Isa, she and Gavi met again, the The boy wasted no time, he asked her for her number, and since that day they had been meeting and talking all the time.
"If I heard correctly, you said that these are dinners to talk about your love situation, right?" She laughed and nodded. "Well, I'd like to go to get an idea of who I have as rivals." She rolled her eyes.
"you are a fool."
"Are you going to give me the address or do I ask for the uber directly to your house?"
"gavi?"
"Yeah?"
"You're kidding, aren't you?"
"Honestly… not a bit, so… can I go?"
"Just because I know you're not going to drop the subject."
"Okay, see you in fifteen minutes, honey."
He finished the call and left her there smiling like a fool.
"You've never brought a boy home, have you?" "asked Gavi, Isa couldn't help but laugh, nodding her head." I think you should have mentioned it. "
"I wasn't the annoying one who wanted to come."
"I don't regret it, besides, I'm glad to be the first." the whisper near her lips.
Tumblr media
"Fuck, Isa, you have to be kidding."
"I wish."
"Did he kiss you in front of your whole family?" Isa nodded, laughing and feeling the blush rise to her cheeks.
"The guy has balls, I'm not going to deny it."
They all started making fun of her, although just a few seconds later they were screaming and saying how much they wanted a boy like Gavi.
"Are you going to the game tomorrow?" Gavi asked looking at her.
"depends."
"about what?"
"Do you want me to go to the game tomorrow?"
"I'm dying for you to do it." Isa laughed and caressed his cheek, they were both lying on the carpet in their room.
"shit, it's midnight. today xavi kills you"
"It'll be worth it," he said, kissed her and went to the door. "See you tomorrow, sweetie."

hey. what?
well. For context everyone im assuming this ask is referring to this post and my tags below
Tumblr media
im assuming because of the. The.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Many. Prev tags on it lmao but anyways here's more context. ill try to keep specific elements vague cause i don't want to doxx my grandma and by extension myself. But yeah let's go
my grandma (maternal) ran away from home in her teens (not sure the exact year/age but 70s ish) to join the circus and worked there for an amount of time doing ticket sales and miscellaneous jobs that aren't performance based
she met a guy also working there and they dated. this guy joined a satanic cult after joining the circus (? I think. Mightve been the other way around) and performed ritualistic sacrifice within the cult/with his murder victims. he was not in charge of the cult but was an active member and serial killer across around 4 states, maybe more (evidence was found for about 4 states iirc)
anyways he got caught for evidence of multiple murders but confessed to upwards of 20 (they couldn't find evidence of this so its unclear if he was exaggerating or if there simply wasn't enough irrefutable evidence) and went to prison while my grandma was pregnant and she was also arrested as an accomplice and had her kid in prison. She was 18 at the time. Idk how long she spent in prison but it was long enough to have her son taken away
her son (first of her four children, was my oldest uncle on my moms side) has adopted parents who changed his first and last name and didn't let him know about his biological parents (and were also extremely abusive) and so my mother and her siblings and her mom did unsuccessful research to find him over the years and he found our family a few years before he turned 30 (my moms ten years younger than him btw) and we've been in contact since and he was my personal favorite of my moms siblings
Oh also the serial killer got sentenced to life without parole and is currently on death row. My uncle died last year from unrelated circumstance (I posted about it some last year if anyone remembers) and my mom adopted 2 of 3 of his kids (3rd was a legal adult already) and then they got kidnapped and their kidnappers won the custody battle against my mom so. Yeah
Oh also worth noting my mom is the youngest of the four. my grandma had four kids with different men so im not related to the serial killer but he is in my family tree? Anyways yeah different fathers. My grandma remembers the serial killer and my moms father (my abuelito ♡ love him) but doesn't remember the fathers of the middle children (my aunt and uncle). So they're my moms half siblings technically and nobody knows if the middle children have other half siblings on their dads' sides 🤷‍♂️ but my mom has a half sister on her dad's side! She's 2 years younger than me bc my abuelito got married to his ex wife later in life but they're not together anymore (?) Not sure. They broke up idk if they legally divorced but they live in different countries and don't talk to each other. So.
Id love to meet her someday! But I don't know if thats feasible. She lives in Mexico and only speaks spanish so it would certainly be difficult. But I want to.... she almost immigrated to the United States like. 6 years ago?? My mom paid for documents to be legally translated and stuff but stuff happened and it didn't go through.she also tried to kill her mom once. But she's doing better. That's all a long story. We have a picture of her in our house from when she was little!
Ok thats very tangent-y. I have a lot of family stories. But also if anyone was curious this post below was also about my maternal grandmother
Tumblr media
shes a white woman who likes to weaponise having "friends" in nepal when people are mean to her. She's a character. if ppl are curious abt any of this i will answer btw i love talking abt my family they're deranged

Okay bestie how about Christmas HCs where Obi-Wan is spending Christmas with you and your strange family ❤️
HI YES OKAY
also i'm so sorry if my writing seems off, i'm lwk rusty from not having written anything in a FAT minute. anyway enjoy some festive obi-wan!!
Tumblr media
you and obi-wan were born on complete opposite ends of the galaxy, on different planets
this meant different cultures, different traditions, different ways of life
obi-wan doesn't remember much of his childhood—he can barely recall who his family was and only has a few fading memories of them—while you remember your loved ones in great detail
so when he hears you talk about your family and sees how your face lights up when you do, it's very bittersweet for him
now, life day (i believe this is christmas in star wars terms lol) is quickly approaching but you had been too busy throwing yourself into teaching an introductory sparring class for the younglings, along with your personal training, to realize it
if it were up to master windu's doing you wouldn't be getting as long of a break
but it's master yoda in charge here, and he grants you a long weekend to rest—which you and obi are incredibly grateful for as you've gotten a combined 6 hours of sleep in the past 3 days
(pathetic, you know...especially when it's drilled into your heads from day 1 of being in the temple that rest is the key to a happy, fulfilling life)
your family stories are always filled with lots of laughter, vibrant colors, and more love and compassion than he could even describe
so when you invite him to come to your home planet with you he's obviously excited
though outwardly he expresses how he feels a bit nervous
they've all heard about your best friend and wise master, but have never spoken to him in person
"it'll be fine, trust me! i have a big family but i promise you they're the nicest people you'll ever meet."
so he agrees, and you fly out that following morning
you can tell he's nervous as you get to the front door
so you intertwine your fingers together, giving his hand a squeeze
it's your silent way of telling him it's going to be just fine :)
and your family instantly LOVES him
of course, you're first bombarded with the classic "are you two married?" "when's the wedding?" "y/n, this is the first time you've brought a man back home!" "he's so handsome!" and whatnot
meanwhile, obi stands there with flushed cheeks...
the older women of the family—your mother, godmother, grandmothers, aunts, etc—instantly love him since he offers to help you out in the kitchen
in the meantime, you sit in the living room with your siblings, cousins, and the rest of the men
"where is the ring on your finger, y/n?" your favorite uncle asks you. he has this GIANT grin on his face and he's wearing THAT "ugly sweater" with a pink loth cat on it
ever since you got it for him, he's made it a yearly tradition to put it on at every holiday gathering
so it's hard to not laugh at first when you're trying to respond
"uncle ted, you know jedi can't get married!"
"who said you had to follow the rules?" he raises a brow at you and you laugh again
"y/n," your dad adds on, "he's right. you should be getting married soon..."
"but the jedi code!"
"it's not a crime if they don't find out, right?" your oldest cousin, cal, says
...and all the men murmur a "yep" or "touche" at that
obi wan catches part of this conversation and comes over, "who's marrying who?"
"she's marrying you!" your younger sister, layla, exclaims with a giggle
and now it's time for both you and obi to get extremely flustered
"SORRY," you quietly tell obi in your mind. "my family can get a bit...chaotic."
"it's okay, don't worry about it," and he smiles at you
while you're eating dinner, you catch him looking around the room—at your family, the eccentric decorations on the fridge and walls (courtesy of layla, cassie, and cal), the most stunning tree standing tall in the corner, the golden stockings with hand-stitched names of each cousin hung above the crackling fireplace—and your heart swells with warmth
in all his years of living so far, obi-wan has never felt so much at home as he has now, with you by his side
even amidst the chaos of the day, he tells himself he wouldn't want to be anywhere else, & he means it
later, you're making gingerbread houses together (apparently obi has never heard of this tradition before, so you take it upon yourself to teach him all about it)
but despite knowing little about it, he ends up making the best house out of everyone
you come in close at 3rd place, though you're sure your house is only one breath from falling apart
there's frosting all over your hands
and on your chin, apparently, but obi wipes it away with a quick sweep of his thumb
the longing look in both your guys' eyes doesn't go unnoticed by the rest of your family
long after everyone has gone to bed for the night, you stay by the fireplace together with glasses of warm milk on the coffee table in front of you
"you're really lucky, you know," he tells you. "to have a family you can remember and spend time with when you can."
"i really am..." you agree, "but obi-wan, you're always welcome to come over. my family loves you. i know it's only been a day but they already want you to be a part of the family."
(neither of you realize that he's taken ahold of your hand and started to gently brush over your ring finger)
and just around 4 short months later, you wake up one morning to find a sapphire ring on that exact finger
"just so you know, i'm saying yes," you squeeze his shoulder before going off to continue with the rest of your day
(how the council doesn't suspect anything, you have no idea. but you're grateful for it lmao)
Tumblr media
ok i'm so sorry idk what i was doing with the ending there but I HOPE YOU ENJOYED &&&& merry christmas & happy holidays!!!'

Susan Bones
Canon:
She was born around 1980
She's a Half-Blood. This means that either her father was a Pureblood (since her last name comes from his side) and her mother was a Half-Blood, or her mother was a pureblood and her father a half-blood, or both of them were half-bloods already.
Her wizarding family were rather powerful and respected during the First Wizarding War, but because of this most of her family were murdered by Death Eaters in the aftermath.
We don't know if her parents were murdered during this time, but the only relevant family of the Bones that is canon is Amelia Bones, Susan's aunt, but she was killed in July 1996
She was a Hufflepuff, in the same year as the golden trio.
She seemed to be friends with Seamus Finnigan and Hermione Granger, as Hermione and Susan were paired together for Herbology and DADA in their second year and both had a crush on Professor Lockhart during that time, although it's unknown if they were friends after that. She's also seen talking with Seamus during classes and DA meetings.
We do know she was good friends with the Hufflepufss in her year, Hannah Abbott, Ernie Macmillan, and Justin Flinch-Fletchley, all of who were also members of the DA. It's unknown if she was friends with Zacharias Smith, another Hufflepuff in her year, even though he did attend DA meetings.
In her sixth year, she splinched herself while attending Aparating classes, losing one of her legs, although it was later reattached.
She was a member of the DA Army, but it isn't known if she was present during the Battle of Hogwarts, although it is most likely since she did attend Hogwarts for her seventh year at that time.
It is also not confirmed in canon whether she survived the second wizarding war, although it is most likely since her name wasn't listed among the deceased.
We also don't know what she did in the aftermath of the war
My Headcanons and Fancast for her (some of these are info about the bones family as well):
Eleanor Columbus as young Susan Bones:
Tumblr media
Alice Englert as older Susan Bones:
Tumblr media
She was born on October 22nd, 1979
Her Patronus is a Beagle
Her wand is made from Willow wood with a Unicorn core, 10 inches long, and swishy.
Her star sign is Libra
She's a half-blood
Her parents were Oscar Bones (Half-blood) and Eleanor Bones (Pure-blood).
Her grandparents were Alfred (Pure-blood) and Dorthory (Muggle-born), and the parents of Oscar, Amelia and Edgar Bones. Edgar was the oldest, Amelia was the middle child, and Oscar was the youngest.
Her grandparents were nicknamed Alfie and Dottie
Since she was raised by muggles, Susan's grandmother grew up reading muggle literature, which she absolutely adored. She was the one to come up with the names for her two sons, who were named after Edgar Poe and Oscar Wilde, both muggle English poets
Her uncle, Edgar, had three kids with his wife, Edith (Pure-blood) Chester Bones (eldest) and two daughters, Theodora and Mabel, who all died in the war in 1981, shortly before Voldemort was finally defeated.
Edgar and Edith were both around 33 when they died, their son Chester was around 12, and Theodora and Mabel were around 10 and 8 respectively.
Her parents were murdered by Voldemort shortly after her 1st birthday in 1980, a year before the war ended. They were both around 24 years old.
Her aunt, Amelia Bones, one of the few surviving members of the Bones family, took Susan in just after Susan's parents' death and raised her as her own, she was about 28 at the time.
Susan would call Amelia aunty mum.
Although Amelia was quite busy with her Ministry work, she did try to spend as much time with Susan as possible.
Susan had lived in Godric's Hollow with her parents, along with her uncle Edgar, Aunt Edith and her cousins, although once Amelia became her guardian, she moved to Wimbourne. Her uncle and aunty stayed, as Edgar was working alongside the Order of the Phoenix and James and Lily Potter, fellow members, lived there as well, albeit secretly, and Edgar thought he should look out for the Potters.
The Abbot family also lived in Godric's Hollow and were close with the Bones family. They stayed at Godric's Hollow until Edgar and Edith Bones' deaths, and then they moved to Wimbourne to be with Amelia and Susan Bones.
Hannah Abbott and Susan would grow up together, and their two families would make the trip to King's Cross Station to see the girls leave for each of their years at Hogwarts.
Susan and Hannah were both obviously sorted into Hufflepuff.
Susan wasn't one to actually play quidditch, but she rooted for the Wimbourne Wasps.
She loved Herbology and the History of Magic, and eventually the extra-curricular subjects, Muggle Art and Wizarding Art.
You'd just constantly find her in the greenhouses working on her plants or sketching, drawing and painting. or pouring over history books from the library.
Susan and Hannah would become good friends with Ernie Macmillian and Justin Finch-Fletchley.
They were basically known as the Hufflepuff Four.
She developed a crush on Ernie in her second year
She was good friends with a few Gryffindors in her year, like Hermione Granger, Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan.
Dean was quite talented in art, although he didn't tell many people, and Susan was one of the few he'd show his artwork to.
Hermione and Susan would meet officially on the Hogwarts Express at the start of the second year, and the two loved discussing the book, History of Magic, both of them having read it thoroughly.
They were also paired in Herbology, DADA, and History of Magic, and you'd often see them giggling together.
Susan was the one to make Hermione open up very easily early on, which she wouldn't do around even her other close friends, Ron and Harry, until much later.
Susan was upset when Hermione was petrified during the second year, along with Justin.
She'd visit the Hospital Wing constantly, and took notes for classes for both Hermione and Justin.
Although they weren't necessarily close, Susan was an acquaintance of Harry through Hermione and was one of the few who didn't think that he was behind the attacks in the second year, and would tell Hannah and Ernie off when they were convinced he was.
And Susan was friends with Seamus through Dean and would confide in him about things, especially since his mother was also working at the ministry. Although, they'd get into a disagreement when Seamus didn't believe the trio about Voldemort.
During the third year, she'd pick Wizard and Muggle art, Muggle Studies and Music as her extra-curricular classes.
Hermione and she were in the same Muggle studies class, and they'd often study together, and discuss recommendations for muggle books and music.
She loved music class as well and played the harp.
Susan would be concerned for Hermione because she was aware Hermione was using the time-turner to take so many classes. Although, she did enjoy the story of Hermione punching Malfoy, and thought it was a good thing Hermione was letting loose.
Before the beginning of the fourth year, Susan's Auntie would get free tickets to the Quidditch World Cup because of her position in the ministry, and Susan would go along with Ernie, Justin and Hannah. She'd also run into a few of other her friends there, including Hermione, Seamus and Dean.
Although she was excited when Cedric was picked as Hogwarts Champion and thought that Harry should not have been allowed to enter the tournament, she didn't believe that Harry put his name in the goblet of fire. She supported both Harry & Cedric, and refused to participate in picking sides, unlike Ernie and Hannah. Justin was the same, as he learnt his lesson from 2nd year, realising that he shouldn't have judged without all the facts.
Susan stood by Hermione and didn't believe the rumours Rita Skeeter was making up about her. Susan was the only one who knew that Fred Weasley was Hermione's first kiss and not Victor Krum and that Hermione only viewed Krum as a friend.
Susan went to the Yule Ball with Zacharias Smith, mostly as friends though.
She was over the moon when she found out that Hermione and Fred were dating
Susan was saddened by Cedric's death. Although she was afraid, she did believe that Voldemort was back.
In her fifth year, she was upset when Ernie (who she still had a crush on) started dating Leanne, a Hufflepuff and friend of Katie Bell after they both joined the Hufflepuff Quidditch team to honour Cedric (who they had admired greatly) as a keeper and chaser respectively.
However, she started dating Zacharias Smith that same year. Zacharias was a Chaser on the Hufflepuff Team as well.
And Susan would read up on quidditch to support both her boyfriend and friend
Justin and she were also definitely the conspirators behind getting Neville Longbottom and Hannah together when they started noticing the two hanging out together a lot more.
Suan had previously been friends with Neville for a while, as they had been paired together for Herbology the year prior, but thought Hannah would be a good match for him.
She'd also joined Dumbledore's Army that year, and enjoyed the lessons., Susan was the one to convince her 4 Hufflepuff friends (Ernie, Zacharias, Hannah and Justin) to join.
However, this caused issues between Zacharias and her, the former being continuously sceptical of harry, Hermione and ron, and the return of Voldemort, whereas Susan believed it was true, and didn't like the comments her boyfriend would make towards her friends. After about 6 months of dating, the pair would split.
Note: Part 2 coming soon!

15 questions for 15 friends
Tagged by @gingerniiiija. Thanks, friend! This was super fun.
Were you named after anyone? I was. In good Southern (US) fashion, I have a double name that incorporates my grandmother's maiden name, which was also my mom's middle name and is now one of my niece's names.
When was the last time you cried? Today. I took one of my dogs to board at the same time that a pup was coming for their last vet visit and watching him surrounded by his crying family while an instrumental version of a Brandi Carlile song played over the vet speakers broke me. Managed to keep it together until I got to the car. Before that, Thursday during Critical Role.
Do you have kids? I do not. I do have wonderful nieces, and being their aunt is one of the best things in my life.
What sports have you played/do you play? I played church basketball and soccer when I was little. As an adult, I've played rugby but I tend toward activities like running, yoga, swimming, and hiking/wandering with my dogs.
Do you use sarcasm? Yes, in a dry humor way. My entire family is dry as hell, so it's a big part of my sense of humor, although I rein it in with strangers so as not to be a tool. I'm typically called a golden retriever gay, but one of the highest compliments I have ever received was one of my oldest friends telling me that Sister Michael from Derry Girls reminded her of me.
First thing you notice about people? I genuinely don't think I have a pattern here. Voice, maybe? Or smile? I do often appreciate and take note of people's style as well, especially shoes.
What is your eye color? Green
Scary movies or happy endings? Whichever has the better queer storyline
Any talents? I come in clutch in the following trivia categories: pop culture (non-reality tv); 90s country music/modern women of country; name that song; US history and politics and/or law; and queer things. Per my nieces, I am very good at the "funny faces" feature on FaceTime, a solid water slide escort, and an acceptable makeshift jungle gym. I have been told that I'm an excellent driver; I enjoy driving and have driven both a passenger van and a U-Haul up most of the East Coast of the US.
Where were you born? A military base in the United States.
What are your hobbies? I love writing, feeding/spending easy time with friends, reading (preference for fiction, poetry, and comics, although I do love some philosophy and theory as well), exploring good food and new places (solo or with friends, my own city or others), live music and theater, playing board games and Switch, watching tv and movies (my oldest niece and I see a movie every time I visit them in person and it brings me great joy), and being silly with my nieces. I'm a lawyer and a law nerd, so I also spend time following SCOTUS and listening to legal/political podcasts.
Do you have any pets? Two dogs, Annie and Buffy, a big doofy retriever mix and a tiny poodle-ish terror respectively.
How tall are you? 5' 8"
Favorite subject in school? Growing up, English/Lit, closely followed by History. At university, I majored in History and Gender & Sexuality Studies.
Dream Job? Obligatory note that I do not dream of labor. But I'm actually currently working on a career shift, so I'm giving this a lot of thought. I'd love to be a writer, journalist, professor, or preacher (last one is more complicated, for probably obvious reasons).
Would love to see answers from anyone who wants to do this! Tagging @korralone, @kasadilla11, @antlereed, and @overnighttosunflowers. Pls forgive me/disregard if you hate this, ha.

actually the talk about the Scarlett's dad [and step mom] as well as Koda's family has me curious: Could we get some hints about the ROs home life and who is most precious to them? [Like for R I think I saw a grandparent? For Koda I imagine that is Pola dujshdh tho I'm sure his parents are way up there :-D]
I won’t be able to go into all of the home lives (due to potential spoilers), but I’ll try my best. 💜
Tumblr media
Koda: Pola is definitely the most important person in his life— he adores his baby sister so much. He has a good home life: a loving mother and father, a kind aunt, and a warm community to call his own.
Scarlett: Anastasia, without question, (or Balerion). She typically tries to keep to herself, avoids her father as much as he avoids her, and is the perfect heir that’s expected of her whenever a public event is hosted. (Can’t go into the nuances of it though… for obvious reasons.)
Cyrus/Cyra: All of their younger siblings, I’d say. Though they do have a soft spot for the twins— Artemis and Apollo. They have a good home life too, though it can be stressful due to their tutoring and training, but they wouldn’t change it for the world.
Quinn: Their older sister— Alessia. She’s one of the few people they can stand being around when it comes to being back home (for a multitude of reasons). I can’t really go into their home life though… It’s complicated. (Quinn is seen as the eldest for reasons though they’re technically not the eldest.)
Caden: One of their oldest and dearest friends— as they don’t have a biological family. I can’t go in depth about who said friend is though… They remember their home life, from long ago, being kind and warm even though it had an undertone of sadness.
Sloane: Can’t go into this as it’s major spoilers for Sloane’s route… (Sorry.)
Blake: Lilith, without question, is the most precious person to them. Even though they don’t see her often— they know that she’d be there if they truly needed her. Their home life? It’s something they like to not think about.
Reginald/Regina: Their grandmother! They absolutely adore spending time with her and hearing various stories from her. Their home life is loud— filled with love and warmth… They wouldn’t have it any other way.

Aquarium Date or Babysit?
Tumblr media
summary: at the last minute, sangyeon's older sister asked him if he could babysit her children while she attended an emergency meeting, unaware that sangyeon had other arrangements; going on a aquarium date with you. nonetheless, he brings them with him, keeping his love ones close to his heart.
the boyz lee sangyeon x fem! reader
genre: fluff warnings: none
Tumblr media
“i guess it’s you and us.” sangyeon smiled at your driveway as you walked towards them; opening the car door, you were greeted by sangyeon’s nephews kissing your cheeks.
“aunt y/n, sangyeon hyung said, will go to the aquarium!” the youngest said as he climbed on to y/n to sit on her lap, as the oldest too sat on her lap. as the three giggled.
before sangyeon started the car, he witnessed the three giggles and took a picture of them. delighted by the view, he didn’t realize the time and started the car. y/n put on music as they sang while going to the designated place.
“do you know noona, hyung always talks about how he loves you.” the eldest teased his uncle, as y/n laughed. “oh really?” y/n replied, as they began teasing sangyeon.
“enough with the teasing; we are here already.” sangyeon said as he parked the car; he grabbed the boy's bag’s in the back seat as he helped y/n open her car door. “boys, grab our hands, okay. so you wouldn’t get lost.” y/n told them as they nodded their heads “yes, noona~” they gleefully said.
in the point of view of others, they could be called a loving family. “wahhh, a shark and turtle!” the youngest said as he pointed with his lips and lightly shook y/n’s and his older brother's arms. “okay, okay let’s gooo.” sangyeon told as they went near the glass. as the boys were busy admiring and watching the sea creatures. y/n took a picture of the three and sent it to sangyeon’s older sister.
y/nie♡: sent a photo
unnie♡: ahaha they are so cute!! i miss them already TT
unnie♡: tell them i’ll be home before dinner!
y/nie♡: don’t worry unnie will be having dinner with them!
unnie♡: really? thank youuuu!!
y/n smiled as she reacted to the older last message before closing her phone. someone interlocked their hands with her, she was startled at first but knowing who’s hand could fit into her perfectly she smiled looking at them. “want to go sit somewhere near? they’re too busy watching the sharks.” as she nods her head. sitting near the little boys, a grandmother walked toward them so they couldn’t go far.
“hello dear, i noticed you when entering, and i just wanted to say you remind me about my younger days. i hope you two last long.” the grandmother said as both of them giggled, “thank you halmeoni~” y/n thank her, as they waved at her.
“so when are you going to put a ring on it huh?” y/n teased him as he blushed furiously; there’s no doubt y/n is the straightforward one in their relationship even though their mbti’s are different.
“in the meantime, wear my ring soon; it’ll be a wedding ring.” he said as he put a ring on her finger, “ayyy~ the lee sangyeon flirting.” y/n giving him the wiggly eyebrows, a way for her to hide her flustered state.
sangyeon was about to kiss her on her lip until his nephews walked up to them. “we're hungry.” they pouted, rubbing their tummies.
“it’s almost 6; what do you want to eat for dinner?” sangyeon questioned them as the three of them said in sync, “meat!!” as they laughed, the boys held y/n hands as the three of them were in front of sangyeon.
he smiled at them, patting the small velvet box at the back of his pockets, saying to himself, “next time, i’ll propose soon.” as he started running when he saw the three running towards the car, as laughter erupted around them.

I want to be a grandmother. Not a mother though. I’ve already raised my children. At 7, they passed me the baby, the toddler, and the five-year-old and said I was the oldest so it was my job. I looked at my cousin, age 9, across the room. I thought, they’re older than me, why aren’t they doing this? They shouldn’t have had to, but neither should I. But she was the favorite so she didn't have to do anything.
She apologized to me later when she had her first child, and she didn't have to do that either. But I loved her for it. I raised all the children in my family. The cousins, the siblings; the babies until I had a meltdown in my late high school years and couldn't be convinced to see family again. I stopped talking, and the fun girl I was known to be was the quiet one now. But just in the family. My friends knew me, and those children I raised knew me.
Cuz I would still look after the siblings, the cousins, the babies I had raised as a baby.
I had raised them after all, and while I couldn’t handle family gatherings, I could still take care of them. They had been forced in my arms, but they were mine now. No take-backs. I made sure they all knew to take their time with love, with family, with children. And I like to think as a baby who raised babies, I didn’t do too bad. The newer generation in my family is taking their time, finding their people, and taking their time.
I’m married but I will never have children. I already raised a good set of them. Three of them will have kids soon, and asked if I could be their children’s aunt. I asked if I could be grandma, and with relief on their faces, they admitted that was what they wanted. So I’m not able to be a mother, but I can be a grandmother.
I’m really looking forward to it.

2-4 kids is pretty standard where I grew up, but plenty of people had 5-6. Big for me would be closer to 6-8, and really big would be 9+. The biggest family I personally met had somewhere around 11-12 kids before I lost contact with them.
What was really impressive was the fact that all the old ladies in the community had entire family trees memorized and could tell just about anyone who they were related to up through third and fourth cousins. Every time I ran into an older auntie they'd tell me exactly how they were related to my grandmother, for example.
Wow that is impressive! Reminds me a little of my grandma, she had... seven siblings, I think, and has loads of cousins and other extended family. She can rattle them all off, and my Dad can do the same, but I can’t remember any of it. If I meet them I just call them aunt or uncle and it works XD
But yeah, I agree on the number of kids thing! I think the family I knew with the most kids was one that had fourteen kids technically, but the oldest three (or maybe four?) were actually the dad’s sisters he took in when their parents died, I believe.
The other thing about that family?
All of the kids were girls, EXCEPT the youngest who was a boy. I haven’t seen them in years, but I always thought that was the wildest thing.

Growing Up Filianist
These are just some differences I’ve noticed across the years. I hope this post is well put together and makes enough sense. I have tried my best not to ramble, because I have the terrible habit of doing so. Requested by @tenebrouscandor-blog :)
🌞🌻🪻
1. Not Having a Church Building
—> our Rite of Sacrifice was held in our living room. 7 aunts and uncles and their respective spouses, me and my 4 siblings, and my 15 cousins all crowded together in that space! Plus my Grandmother, who was the lady of our household. While all my friends told me about their beautiful churches and intricate mosques I would in turn tell them of our precious home altar, decorated with all sorts of precious trinkets, and the icons of the Mother and Daughter that were plastered about. Sure, it was a tight squeeze. But we laughed and rejoiced so much on Holy Days and Days of Observance that nobody ever complained.
2. Having a Home Altar
—> I remember mentioning one time to my friends in Home Ec. class (it must’ve been around middle school) that I was excited to place the gingerbread cookies we had just made on our home altar. None of them seemed to have a clue what I was talking about! Imagine my surprise. I was so sad that none of them had ever experienced the happiness of placing any home-baked goods or handmade craft we (my cousins and siblings and i) were proud of on the altar. My Grandmother always told us that when we placed them on the altar it was as if we were showing our Mother our gifts just as we show our earthly mothers things we are proud of. A way of saying thank you to our Mother for all the wonderful tools she gives us so that we are able to make whatever thing we made. It has a large statue of our Mother as the Virgin Mary, and has different cloth colors depending the season or holiday. Incense was always burning on it and the type would change according to the appropriate season or holiday. A little jar for our prayers would lay in front of it and if there was some prayer we were maybe too embarrassed to pray with everybody about we could drop it in the little jar. I could talk for hours on our home altar, so if anyone is interested i’ll make a seperate post on that :)
3. Holidays!
—> one of the most noticeable differences for me was the different holidays my family observed compared to, for example, my Christian friend. Halloween became Tamala, a 3 day celebration full of both solemnity and joy. Christmas was known as the Nativity, with a Fir Tree and a Star Fairy involved. New Years was celebrated but we also enjoyed the Day of Sai Herthe. Easter was spelled as Eastre to me (i remember my teachers being quite mad about that) and was much more stretched out than my christian friends Easter Mass and egg hunt. Of course, Filianism has its own special holidays. Maura, for example, is similar to Lent but not quite. Med-Maura is not a thing to Catholics, for example. (The month of Maura seemed sooo long to us as kids because we knew we would be gently encouraged to give something up in remembrance of our Lady’s death.) I could go on, but then I would be rambling. Once again, if anyone has more interest in hearing on specific holidays or just holidays in general please let me know!
4. Lady of the Household
The men in my family were most definitely never oppressed or hated or looked upon as lesser. There was, though, an emphasis on there being a lady of the household instead of a lord. Usually the oldest woman in the home. In my family that was my Grandmother, because she lived with us. For my cousins it was their own mother. the lady of the household was meant to be wise and patient and thoughtful. To guide the family closer to our Mother and to each other. She would sit at the head of the table, and lead out in most prayers (at dinner us kids would rotate on whose turn it was to pray) , and have the ‘final word’ if you will, in most if not all matters. So it was quite a shock to have a sleepover at a friends house and see their dad sitting at the head of the table instead of their mother (at my house it would be my Grandmother, but at my cousins houses it was their mother), and their father having the blessing, and all that.
I felt rather stupid for feeling shocked, because i’d taken world history. i knew that most of the world followed a male-dominated societal structure. but i’d never experienced a household like that before my first sleepover at 15. It was also quite different that most if not all of my friends would say “I have to ask my dad” and i would say “i have to ask my Grandmother”.
🌞🪻🌻
I have tried my best to explain everything in a way that would make the most sense. I don’t know if I have achieved it, so if there are any things that need clarification please let me know and I will do my best to do so. I have written and rewritten this post multiple times over the past day or so because I was fearful that my points wouldn’t be understood or be criticized. I feel as though I always say this but: please remember that this is how I was raised. Perhaps other filianists would raise their children differently. I’m sure that’s alright. Everything I mention is not out of me claiming that the way I was raised is the only way, I am only showing a way.
Thank you!
Many blessings to you all
