Decided to do the TMNTVDAY month because I need to spread more propaganda for this ship (I see y’all liking all the posts for it on my blog I SEE you)
1. In which TMNT universe does your pairing exist?
Rise, mainly because it’s the only one I’m still familiar with haha
2. Introduce us to your OTP.
Hi it’s Jasonnie, I’m predictable. Jason and Donnie (”Who the fuck is Jason”) He’s the little purple dragon guy. I literally can’t blame you if you don’t remember he’s in THREE episodes ! (Would he have been in more if the show hadn’t been cut off? I can hope) Anyway my brain has a terrible habit of looking at underdeveloped background characters and saying “it’s free real estate”, so lets be very clear the only reason I love his character so much is cause I made like 89% of it aslkjf.
3. How did they meet?
According to canon, when Donnie was helping April in the computer lab where he tried to show off and then got all his shit stolen lmao.
4. How is the relationship now?
Depends how long it’s been. The few stories I have with this ship always take the route of enemies to friends to lovers, and some move much slower than others haha.
But I suppose to give more details and elaborate on how I picture their dynamic, although the two come to adore each other there’s always an antagonistic streak between them that never goes away, it just becomes more playful rather than mean. Affectionate insults are a regular occurrence, and neither of them have an issue with calling the other out when they do something stupid. You’d think it’d lead to more arguments, but generally their combined blunt nature causes them to communicate more often (not that there aren’t still snags that come up).
Also like, nerds, in more ways than one. Sure the tech stuff is obvious but while Donnie adores Jupiter Jim, Lou Jitsu and Atomic Lass, Jase is over here with tons of gundam and transformer models and will watch any film that features a giant robot. More than one date is spent with one or the other talking about something for an hour and a half straight.
5. What is each other’s love language?
Donnie’s main one is gift giving, which sometimes goes overboard. Jase has to be careful mentioning he ever wants anything because there’s a good chance Donnie will show up a week later having either bought it, stolen it, or built it from scratch. He also likes to give things when he makes apologies, often cookies or snacks.
Jase’s is actually touch, though it took some time for him to be on a comfort level for that to be obvious. You wouldn’t expect it either, for how often he complains if Donnie ever picks him up, but he enjoys almost any form of contact. For the days Donnie’s overwhelmed and isn’t up for it, he’s also content to just sit in the same room (Quality time being his secondary language).
6. Do they get married or have any kids?
I may never write about it but yes asldjf fun fact tho, Donnie names their daughter Holly (after Holly Blue).
7. What is your favorite thing about this pairing? (Gush as much as you want!)
Listen part of it is just “I built one of these characters from the ground up so I can make this whatever I want” but I really enjoy how their dynamic evolved into keeping each other in check. Jase not eating properly due to anxiety? Donnie brings him his favorite snacks and will stare at him until he eats some of it. Donnie working almost non stop for twelve hours ? Jase snapping at him and possibly even wrestling a device out of his grip until he goes to lay down.
Oh also uh, height difference. Yeah I hc that Donnie gets up to freaking 6′11″ when he’s fully grown and Jase is stuck at 5′3″ sooo

Raine
Fav thing about them
They're such a character of duality and I love it. I've said it before but the way they're shown to have stagefright and be easily embarrased or blushy, especially around their love interest, right from their debut episode makes it easy to underestimate them, this goes both for other characters and the audience. The same episode also shows they're very much capable, but still. I admit I have underestimated them as well, but fans characterizing them as just awkward always felt off to me. They ARE awkward, but you need to remember that they're a poweful witch who spent years of their life carefully working towards overthrowing an Emperor after realizing how corrupt the system is by becoming one of his closest allies. Heck, from the first episode they show up in, it's shown that they're ready to give up their life for their cause if neccesary. Again, I've said it before, but you need to understand that Raine is both incredibly awkward but also incredibly smart and skilled to get them.

I headcanon that they and Darius used to be friends in school which is a little funny considering Darius was first portrayed as an antagonist but now works with Raine to take down Belos and probably had his own rebellion going on all along, Raine just wasn't aware of it. Like imagine you're besties with someone at your school and when you grow up they become a government figure and so do you but you do it because the ruler of your country invented a system that restricts people and they have some secret fucked up plan they're working towards to and you wanna stop that so one day you and your old bestie almost kill each other because your old bestie was sent to arrest you for treason and you try to kill them and sacrifice yourself for it because loosing people in your position will ruin the rulers plans but turns out your old bestie was just staging a fight and not actually trying to kill you and you're both on the same side. This is the Raine experience.
On the other hand it's rather tragic because that means the first time Raine and Darius actually have a mutual understanding again in forever is when the whole situation is getting really bad and they can't focus on personal stuff.
otp
Raeda. Again, I wouldn't call myself a shipper, but they're exes who still have a thing for each other and it seems like the show's aiming towards getting them back together. Tho I still think it'd be interesting if they just end up as friends after having such a long ongoing fall-out.

They're like a mentor to the other BATTs. Talking about, I hope they return soon because they've just been in prison since Raine's debut. Which, okay, Raine had to be less suspicious since then, but someone get them out of there so they can beat Belos' ass together.

They are so freaking domestic and married and functional the whole time I can’t!!! They bicker and banter with ease of two people who feel secure and confident around each other and know each other’s boundaries and limits and don’t need to worry about offending the other person or the conversation turning antagonistic which allows them this sort of brutal honesty, at times, and frank criticism.
Tumblr media
Issei gets the edamame shell husband treatment and he literally can’t believe it Hayame did that to him right in front of his salad when it already helped to ruin her previous relationship. It seems Hayame didn’t understand his lesson about the difference between the edamame shell and skin, well, she was in the middle of confronting her cheating ex so I suppose she was otherwise engaged.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though, poor Issei doesn’t know the depth of Hayame’s culinary disability until he discovers her special lemon and cereal gyoza! HA! I admire that he doubles down on his criticism and even if he tries to back pedal, he simply can’t make himself lie to her even to please her when it’s so awful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unlike her ex-husband, he doesn’t put on a fake smile and swallows it so he wouldn’t hurt Hayame’s feelings but actually tells her it sucks bigly, showing that not only won’t he ever lie to her or keep secrets from her, he won’t feed her white lies to avoid conflict either. You almost never see portrayed in Asian dramas how these little mundane details can lead to a complete failure of a relationship once they pile up. Quite the opposite, they often depict swallowing food that makes you puke as something romantic and a proof of love without giving any thought to the fact whether the person can manage that for the rest of their life, considering it’s suggested most of the OTPs live happily ever after. The issue shows that Hayame and Issei are already more than one step further regarding the growth and functionality of their relationship than she ever came with Masahiro, illustrating their suitability. It’s not about a relationship being conflict-free, it’s about confronting the problems, argue about them even though it’s exhausting and uncomfortable and solve them through communication and misucommunication, not about hushing the issues up and staying silent about them in order to avoid arguments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The drama might be called Promise Cinderella but it has been turning the Cinderella stereotypes on their head since episode 1. One of them is Hayame not fitting the bill of a girl who is amazing at cooking, sewing, reading, embroidering, polite conversation, dancing and generally being more princess-like than all the princesses and noblewomen, even though her mother died in her childhood and she couldn’t have taught her all those things, neither could her father, nor the mice or the other animals she spent all her whole time with. Let’s face it, Cinderella has always been the fairytale counterpart of Richardson’s Pamela and Hayame - divorced, almost thirty, penniless and jobless - is the modern real-life version of an orphaned abused virgin fallen on hard times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the other hand, while Hayame might share Cinderella’s origin story of her mother dying at an early age, this sad event tragically affects her whole life in a much more realistic and darker way. Her father falls into a depression and becomes neglectful and she has to grow up overnight, having to learn everything by herself as she is left with no one to teach her, guide her and defend her so she ends up turning into a fiercely independent tomboy who is a self-taught cook and, as such, her cooking, well, sucks. She is literally the farthest thing from a Mary Sue ever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, Issei may be a modern version of a prince but while young, he has been taught since an early age and has a very unconventional unique upbringing in a modern world - he is the one who excels at cooking (because he had someone who actually taught him), can tie kimonos, knows the proper etiquette, can arrange flowers and knows their language and meaning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You would expect all those things from a woman, not a man; however, he is not only educated and good at them, he has a natural talent for them. In this way, the drama re-invents the Cinderella story, gives it a new original meaning and a breath of fresh air.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thus, you can see all these details in which Hayame’s relationship with Issei differs from her marriage - they are left to live together alone in what is basically a simulated marriage, but she doesn’t end up in the traditional role of a woman and housewife whose purpose is to provide dinner/food for her husband who comes back from work. She used to work back then, too, even if only part time. Now, it’s her who works full-time while Issei works part-time but despite it they share the cooking and he, fittingly, ends up being the better cook, completely changing up the dynamic of the traditional roles both in the original fairytale and male/female relationships in general.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Except for a brief denial stage caused by his confused feelings, Issei has always been honest with Hayame, sometimes brutally so, be it regarding the major issues or mundane everyday things like her cooking skills.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He treats her the way she wants her to treat him, and, as a result, he rightfully expects the same honesty and consideration in return from her. He doesn’t want any lies or secrets between them, he wants a conversation not a deafening silence, regardless whether they are lovers or friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He wants honesty and equality and instead, Hayame is trying to dismiss him as a child again in an attempt to avoid the problem because it’s uncomfortable and she doesn’t want to have a messy argument or worry him. She should have known by now that that’s exactly the attitude which led to the failure of her marriage. Not that they are an excuse or justification for cheating, but Masahiro raised some good points about the things he disliked about her and it’s time Hayame learns from her past mistakes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marriage/romantic relationship is not a one-person show, the point of it being you are not alone to deal with your problems, some burdens should be shared and if not, the other person feels left out because their partner keeps secrets from them which then leaves many opportunities for misunderstandings and creates a rift that keeps growing between the couple. Hayame’s greatest strengths - her self-reliance and independence - which allowed her to survive on her own so far become her greatest weaknesses and drag her down now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Issei immediately realizes Hayame has been putting a mask around him, trying to make herself look cheerful and happy, he can see through it right away as she can never fool him because he knows her so well and, frankly, she couldn’t pretend even if her life depended on it just like him. She fails to notice that this sort of consideration and selflessness are a double-edged sword.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s both apt and ironic she tries to dismiss him as a child because her stubborness, discomfort and avoidance maker HER appear like a child and Issei the one 10 years older with his patience, calm and and persistence on discussing and solving the whole issue. This time it’s him who calls her out on her bullshit and childishness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Issei notices everything about Hayame, including her mood swings which also refer to the mixed signals she’s been sending him, and how could he not when he always watches her so searchingly as if he were trying to look inside her soul, trying to spot every quiver of her lashes and nervous press of her lips.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thus, he can sense and predict what she plans to do because he can read her like an open book after watching her so closely for so long but also because he’s been there where Hayame is right now - he had been running away for the past 10 years before he met her and she saved him by making him realize he had been fucking up his life that way, therfore he gets angry seeing her repeating his mistakes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moreover, he is scared shitless he may one day wake up and end up like Seigo, abandoned by her, not even left with a direction where to look at her, because she thinks she is not good enough and fears she might drag him down and mess up his life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite it all, Issei doesn’t think about himself first, he thinks about Hayame and what it is she truly wants. She feels so lost and conflicted, fretting and completely panicking and he pretty much tells her ‘fuck the world and other people! You are the only person who matters! Think about yourself first and do what you truly wish to do even if it makes them hate you.’ And from the hopeful way she looks at him, it’s exactly what she needs to hear and wants to truly do but lacks the courage to go through with it just yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, THIS SHOT on the sofa! It pretty much says ‘married, in the middle of marital crisis and before a huge life-changing conversation’!

Character: Bianca Davri
I’m sorry I took FOREVER to do these. <3 I hope it was worth the wait!
Break their Ass Down: Bianca Davri
How I feel about this character
I like and respect her. We don’t know a lot about her, but what we DO know is kind of badass. She’s probably about Varric’s age (40ish), and we can assume the bulk of her work has been completed in about 20 years (from her 20s through to the present day) and in that time she’s completed MULTIPLE life changing inventions that are honestly pulling Thedas into the industrial revolution if you look at OUR world history and compare what happened when similar inventions were created that revolutionized the backbreaking labor of agriculture and manufacturing.
She is absolutely a genius, and she knows it. That confidence and her reputation/skill makes her sexy and powerful. But there’s hints that she didn’t have the power she has now in former years. I think if she had met Varric now, when she’s older and more established, their romance wouldn’t be such a tragedy. But there’s something undeniably compelling about a brilliant young woman who runs away from at least one wedding to take off with a dashing rogue before she realizes she has to do what everyone wants her to do.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Varric - up to a point and in canon-divergent AUs. I think their tragic romance is really beautiful when they’re young, but I think by the time it reaches DAI it’s clearly toxic for bother characters (is Bianca holding onto the one thing she ever really picked for herself to spite her family? is Varric so caught up in a story he can’t handle reality?) However - I think they’d work really well together in a universe where they don’t meet until they’re older and it doesn’t go sideways quite so badly.
Bogdan - we know absolutely nothing about him except that he was stood up at the altar at least once and that he helps Bianca with selling her inventions. In my writing, I’ve never been able to nail down what exactly I want his character to be. I wrote him as kind of an idiot in my first Varric/Cadash fic, set him up to be a minor antagonist in GwtAT (in both fics he’s quite possibly emotionally abusive or at the very least neglectful), but I’ve always written him as forgiving and loving. I very much love the idea of a man who also wasn’t sold on marrying a woman clealy in love with someone else, but they work it out and form a strong, solid partnership. I would ship that version of Bogdan with Bianca in a heartbeat.
Dagna - this is a crack pair I am super invested in emotionally and has been gifted to me by @jarakrisafis once. I love the rivals-to-lovers aspect of it. Two brilliant women in competition before the sexual tension escalates and then they form a brilliant partnership? sign me the fuck up.
Nobody - I said it. In both my first Cadash/Varric fic and in GwtAT, Bianca ends up alone and free. I think that’s quite a happy ending for her - she doesn’t need a romantic interest, she lives a happy and fulfilled life making the world better free of the drama.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Varric - Post DAI I really like the idea of old lovers becoming friends and realizing they’re better that way. I don’t think anyone knows either of them as well as the other one does, and I find it hard to imagine that Varric ever quite leaves Bianca’s life even if it’s platonic.
Dagna - they should be friends. that’s it that’s all.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Bianca isn’t an asshole, fandom is just mean to complicated female characters.
Bianca does some shady shit during DAI. That red lyrium thing was CLEARLY a mistake, and she knows it, but I don’t blame her for not admitting it right away. She’s a genius - so her mistakes are correspondingly huge as well - she doesn’t play for small stakes. She didn’t double cross Varric as much as go around him to try and help him - a thing Varric is VERY guilty of doing for his friends as well but nobody ever calls him out on it (paying off the gangs to leave Anders alone even though Anders says not to? Trying to get Fenris a job he doesn’t want? Annoying Merrill to go outside until she’s ABSOLUTELY aggravated with him?)
Bianca’s mistake was made with good intentions, and while she may have helped Corypheus, I’m pretty sure he’d have found a way without her. In fact, it’s a little known fact Bianca actually shows up at that keep in Emprise du Lion to help clean up the red lyrium as an NPC. Check out this post by @pikapeppa to see the dialogue (thank you for compiling this by the way I’ve used it as a resource a hundred times)
Yeah. She fucking stays with the Inquisition to clean up a mess she helped cause. The most brilliant woman in Thedas, literally two votes away from being a surfacer Paragon, stays in the worst fucking place in Thedas to help the Inquisitor.
Nobody ever takes that into consideration when bashing her.
What I think people really don’t like is Bianca threatening to rip out your Inquisitor’s eyeballs if they get Varric hurt and using them to clean up her mistake. And you know what, fair, you don’t have to like your OC getting threatened or used.
But Varric arguably uses the Inquisition to clean up Hawke’s mess, and if he would have threatened your OC for Hawke, I don’t think anyone would have cared.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
A lot of the information about Varric and Bianca’s relationship seems almost...optional to find? And it’s so many throwaway lines. We see Varric and Bianca at one of the worst moments in their relationship, but we don’t see how they got there. And because the moment is caused by Bianca’s mistake, she comes out looking worse than Varric, but I don’t think that’s true either.
I truly believe that Varric and Bianca’s relationship is/should be over by the time DAI ends, it’s run it’s course, but I don’t think either of them are the SOLE cause for it being over. They both contributed to an increasingly untenable relationship and Varric got off way too easy for his part of it in game, leaving Bianca to take the hit. It’s unfair.
I’ll still take these break the characters down asks! I’m working my way through them, but here’s who I have on deck:
Maria Cadash
Varric Tethras
And who I’ve done:
Velanna
Bianca Davri

totally going for the obvious ones here buttttt snatcher and florist
ah yes, the two characters for whom I have some of the most backup history for
Snatcher:
Favorite thing about them: he's a Bastard. He is Smug Bastard Man and he Will fight you for fun and profit. Peak antagonist design for me
Least favorite thing about them: This is Technically getting into the prince but like... fandom characterizations of them as separate people. no, he has just let his inner Bastard loose upon the world it has always been there let him give in to the Bite Instinct in all iterations please at least once
Favorite line: "You didn't forget about me, didja? don't tell me you forgot about me!" he's just. he's got a Presence okay
brOTP: him n hat. they r siblings your honor they will commit crimes together
OTP: uhhh aroace hc so. not really anyone
nOTP: kids and also Vanessa please keep her away forever
random headcanon: I know I have rambled about this one at Length with you but that he is Part Of The Forest in a way that like. a squirrel is not necessarily part of its forest. a bird isn't. he is Attached to it. he knows you're there even if you can't see him
unpopular opinion: i enjoy dadtcher content ofc but tbh obnoxious older sibling snatcher is Fave. I don't know how unpopular this is but so far I have only seen him written as Obnoxious Older Sibling once (1 time) and it was snowl. I don't know if I just did not look long enough but. yeah
song I associate with them: mmmm there's one Very Specific cover of Oh It's You and I almost feel like it's cheating because that is one of His Songs in-game but also like. i literally cannot think of anything else i do not listen to enough different music for this
favorite picture of them: he just looks so happy
Tumblr media
Florist:
Favorite thing about them: Interpretations! There's so little about her in-game that basically it's free game on how you want to write her!
Least favorite thing about them: I uh... don't really have that many? IDK I guess the fact there's so little in-game information on her we get two pictures and she's barely even central in those v.v was she just a vendor was she Important i must Know (and so devise stories myself)
Favorite line: she has None :(
brOTP: her and the prince they are childhood friends i have decided. if she were alive now she and snatcher would still be friends. pulling pranks on his contractors all that jazz
OTP: I don't really have one? like. I don't tend to ship so ig she just. runs her flower shop and causes mayhem with the prince idk man pff
nOTP: children. no. this is an Adult, do Not
random headcanon: she has plant magic and is allowed to cause mischief in the forest (to an extent). She will Fuck You Up if you mess with her / people she cares about she has thorns
unpopular opinion: i personally think she is not interested in dating prince boy . maybe it is because i want an Ace Friends Moment but uh. i just personally don't see it. especially considering when she shows up in the storybook? mmmm. idk somethin about that makes me slightly uncomfy
song I associate with them: I don't really have one? I just kinda. vibe. i have very limited music taste. also electric daisy violin (lindsey stirling) i dont know it's just Fun
favorite picture of them: i mean... there's two canon pictures and neither of them are my favorite, because uhhh. i just. i really like the thing i drew of her. idk man
Tumblr media
(also i would like to nicely request everyone look at my flowers again. yes im still on this)
anyway yeah thank you bany for feeding my desire to ramble about them

do robyn :3c:
Send me a RWBY character and I’ll tell you:
Robyn Hill
My top three ships for the character
Clover/Robyn (Lucky Shot is my OTP), Qrow/Robyn (Jailbyrds is a spite ship and I’ll admit it), Roman/Robyn (Rob the Rich, if only for the name)
My three least favorite ships for the character
Robyn/any of the other Happy Huntresses, Robyn/Winter (I remember that fucking ‘snowbyrd’ discourse you bastards), Robyn/Qrow (when I remove the spite goggles I don’t like this at all.)
My biggest criticism for the character
you got 10 minutes? 20? Maybe 30? Buckle up fuckos. I got some points to make and you’re gonna listen.
1. Robyn Hill is wasted potential
Robyn’s first appearance was one of my favourite scenes of Vol7. No joke! She was witty, interesting, had an excellent banter with Clover, deliberately stood down from a fight she couldn’t win, though she seemed eager for a challenge, showed some cunning, and looked like she was having fun.
And then pretty much all of that got ignored. Robyn was set up as a good, smart leader with a cocky swagger, history with Clover, a deceptively cunning streak, and a calm, level-headed attitude. What Robyn was from then on was Angry Shouty Hothead Picks Fights She Can’t Win. She turned into someone impulsive, short-sighted, bullheaded, and focused only on fighting. 70% of Robyn’s lines are about violence and how she likes violence and how she wants to fight with VIOLENCE. The other 30% are, incidentally, ‘i’m so smart and understanding and kind, I’m gonna force people to undergo a lie detector test via peer pressure and ultimatums but it’s actually tragic that no one wants to be my friend because of my semblance. Poor me.
And that was not what I was expecting. That is not what was foreshadowed. And compared to what the potential could have been, a good allusion rich with depth, a setting that could ahve been interesting if it wasn’t so rushed, how she could have been a player on the board, filled so many possible roles, and instead she was a walking ‘Ironwood bad’ mouthpiece that didn’t actually do anything (and has never done well in a fight, which is RWBY’s staple). What a waste.
2. Robyn Hill actively makes things worse and gets no comeuppance
Robyn Hill makes situations worse. First of all, she steals supplies from Ironwood (and then doesn’t use them???? what the fuck????), which puts Ironwood under stress, which then leads to Ruby being Miss Unhelpful (but that’s a rant for another day). Robyn then gets classified info from Blake and Yang who, may I remind you, never met her. She could have been a spy! But no, Blake just has a gut feeling (because the script said so).
Robyn then calls James out on this, which later leads to ‘how did Robyn know about the global communications tower’, which means the fighting happens in the office, everyone stresses, Salem provides one of the few redeeming scenes in the show post-Ironwatts fight (it all went downhill from there, even more then it already was). Robyn didn’t explicitly cause this but she sure as fuck had a hand in it.
Then you have fucking. Clover’s death. Yes, Robyn, agreeing with the serial killer who just tried to murder you and starting a fight in an enclosed space when you’re a ranged fighter vs your melee combatant ex-boyfriend is absolutely the smart thing to do. And then, for a moment, Qrow and Clover nearly sort things out, and fucking Robyn jumps in again. And then, what did she do? She got knocked out immediately. Yikes. Ladies and gentlemen, our ‘Resident Strong Female Character’. But because she did all this, she pretty much guaranteed first: Tyrian escaped. Secondly: Clover died.
And yeah, Robyn. Just because Qrow didn’t personally shove that blade through Clover’s chest, he still worked with The Serial Killer Who Kills People to help. So yeah, Robyn, that does count as some sort of murder. Or at least, accomplice to murder. You’re also vaguely adjacent to it, so don’t get all ‘but Qrow’s innocent’.
It’s the same problem with team RWBY. They do terrible things, they whine about how hard it is, and all is forgiven cause they’re cute sad girls. There’s no comeuppance. There’s no growth. It’s just the script going ‘this character is right because we said so, so now we’re gonna do our best approximation of if a pretzal and a contortionist had an unholy boneless lovechild and bend the plot so the characters win anyway.’
3. Robyn Hill is a static character
This is gonna sound weird with this lil header but Robyn actually had an arc in vol7! She had an arc that was fairly basic, she went from ‘I don’t trust Ironwood and want to know what’s going on’ to ‘I am actively ruining Ironwood’s goals’ and finally settled on ‘I know what’s going on, Ironwood is worth supporting, and I do trust him.’ It was a simple arc, but it didn’t need to be anything more then that.
Then in the span of about 1 minute all her actual development was reversed and she ran backwards to her original stance of ‘Ironwood bad’. We literally saw her devleopment walk backwards, and there it stayed. She spent all of vol8 as an empty voicebox that occasionally pipped out ‘Qrow’s my friend’ and was devoid of any personality. She didn’t have much beforehand that wasn’t fairly generic, so it’s almost impressive.
The problem is that static characters take a lot of work to avoid being boring characters. A lot of rwby just has these problems in general, character development is either ignored, skipped over, or given to the wrong characters, but in Robyn’s case it’s actively annoying because she had some development, and then she ignored all of that to go back to being ‘ironwood bad’ with a side of ‘Qrow good’ because we needed to be reminded of that after he got an innocent man killed.
4. Robyn Hill is an unnecessary character
Why are you here. What do you do. Robyn was stated to be a character meant to act in opposition to Ironwood, to put him under stress like every other fucking character in this series. This was ‘confirmed’ by Eddy Rivas, which means zero because at some point the mentally deranged Weazel Ball that masquerades as the crwby writing team’s collective braincell will rapidly and suddenly change direction, causing massive retcons and plotholes in their moth-eaten threadbare dishtowel they dare to call ‘lore’, and we will have a different excuse for this waste of a good VA.
Here’s the thing tho: Robyn as ‘opposition for Ironwood’ isn’t fucking special. The fucking air in the Atlas Academy lobby opposes Ironwood. Robyn seems to be there... because Mantle needed a voice? Okay, well, why the fuck did Mantle need to exist? Because... the election plotline needed to exist so Jacque could do something mean? God, everything about Mantle and Robyn and the election plotline is just annoying. It drags and it adds nothing to the plotline and it all should have been culled so instead we could focus on things that are actually important (like maybe: the myth arc? character development? the fucking Schnees in Atlas???) rather then rwby’s fuckboi incel attempt at ‘classism = bad?’. If I, as a professional paid editor who works with actual manuscripts, was given the scripts for rwby vol7, I would have gotten the big red highlighter and done a shitload of crossing out. Then I would have told the writing team “come back with your second draft”, but alas, we got the Atlas Arc.
My favorite thing about the character
I love her design aside from that ugly-ass scarf. Also, her VA, Cristina Vee, is the only redeeming quality of this tire-fire of a character. Godbless and praise.
A headcanon I have about them
She deals with chronic ‘ponytail keeps falling out’ syndrome, just constantly. So many hairbands get used up when she does anything.
What I would change about them if I was making a re-write
Everything. Every fucking thing. Especially that stupid fucking lie-detecting semblance.
What I I think of their character allusion and what (if anything) I would change about it
It’s incredibly underutilised. It’s Robin Hood in-name-only. It’s like, the most basic ‘oh the name is Robin and they steal’ and there’s not even any of the most obvious tells. Where’s the bright green? Where’s the hood? Where’s the fucking longbow? Where’s the ‘giving to the poor’ that comes after ‘stealing the rich’? She didn’t actually use any of those things she stole to fix Mantle, she just stole it.
Literally, all the classic elements of Robin Hood are missing, all that’s there is a name and... that’s it. The allusion isn’t there, and even if it was, it’s done in a boring fashion.
Personally, I would add more Robin Hood elements, and I would change one key thing. I would change her allegiance. Instead of ‘Robin Hood on the side of good’, I would take the team WTCH  approach, a ‘good allusion turned evil’, and I’d have Robyn working with Salem, or, at least, as an antagonist. Because that could be actually interesting then the boring and unnecessary storyline we had.

KNB for the fandom ask thing if you’d like to!!
(sorry this took forever, work was crazy this week ;;-;;)
send me a fandom and i’ll tell you…
the first character i ever fell in love with:
Kagami. (I know, right?) I started watching the show when I saw the way he was drawn, and came to really love his character throughout seasons 1 and 2.
Side note: I really only fell in love with Aomine once I saw how he looked in the manga, and got more into his backstory in late season 2/early season 3.
a character that i used to love/like, but now do not:
Idk I used to like, unironically like Himuro, and subscribe to canon’s endgame portrayal of him as a harmless nice guy (with no personality to speak of). Now I like him, but like... only in the sense that he can be used narratively, and to comedic effect. I also still like his play style, but I don’t like him like, as a person.
a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not:
I don’t really wanna bash any ship in this show, since the characters are loose (read: underdeveloped) enough for their actual ship dynamics to kinda be up for interpretation.
The one example I can think of, though, for a ship I used to enjoy that now kinda bothers me, is KiKasa. I just don’t see much genuine affection between these two, and yeah I get that people show their love in different ways and all that, and there is definitely something there to work with if you read between the lines, but still... I dunno in canon it mostly seems one-sided at best and antagonistic at worst to me.
my ultimate favorite character™:
...C’mon, you know who it is. The number one spot has to go to Aomine, every time. Someday I’ll write a whole in-depth character study to explain why, but if you want the thesis statement, it’s this: Aomine is the most interesting, developed and multi-faceted character in the entire series, and you can fight me on that.
prettiest character:
If we’re talking manga, then Aomine, but since he looks like a raisin in the anime, I have to give the award to Midorima, with Mibuchi coming in a close second.
my most hated character:
Heh. Uh... funny story, it used to be Hanamiya, or possibly Haizaki, but now I think my hatred for Akashi has actually surpassed them both, because we’re meant to dislike them so at least they serve their most basic function. Whereas Akashi’s arc is so forced and anticlimactic it’s infuriating, and that’s before even getting into his personality.
my OTP:
You know what, it’s still AoKaga. After six fucking years, they still have my heart. If I can bend the rules and slip in an OT3, I’d say AoKagaKuro, but otherwise, if I had to pick one ship, it’s those two idiots with their rival dynamic, interesting chemistry and essential narrative function of pushing each other to get better.
my NOTP:
Like I said, I don’t want to bash any ship, but if I have to pick one that just grinds my gears, it’s AkaKuro. I just... don’t get it. I mean, I get it, I know why it exists, but I don’t get it, you know?
...I dunno, if that’s your cup of tea, more power to ya, but I personally don’t ship it and I don’t think I’m ever going to.
favorite episode:
Episode 37: I Look Forward To It.
Ah, the onsen episode... I know this one by heart.
Okay, I guess I should explain myself, because on the surface this looks like pure empty fan-service (on both sides), but this episode actually has some really great character and plot-related moments. It’s the part I always jump back into when I re-read the manga, because it’s where things really start to kick off. Seirin’s been beaten down and hopeless and finally have their chance at revenge, and they find out in this episode that they’re going to be getting it right away. There’s some really great Seirin and Touou bonding, some more evidence of Momoi being a data-gathering badass (though her actual appearance in this ep bombs the Bechdel test and kinda just rubs me the wrong way).
My favorite part, though, is Aomine and Kuroko’s confrontation in the bath house. I’ve heard someone say once (and I agree) that this episode shows a whole team of naked men (and two naked women) and yet the scene with the most sexual tension has everyone fully clothed. It’s also just a super emotionally-charged moment, full of saying things without saying them, and Kagami showing up to declare Seirin’s intentions of victory is the cherry on top. I love this episode, I’ve probably watched it about a hundred times, but I’d gladly watch it a hundred more and that tells me it’s my favorite.
saddest death:
Himuro’s character development. I mean uh... Kiyoshi’s leg breaking, yeah, that’s totally it. Actually, him leaving at the end of season 3 is really sad, we don’t get many third years retiring in this show but that hit just as hard.
favorite season:
Season 2. It’s where the show kicks into high gear, and the plot really gets rolling. It’s well-paced and exciting up until the middle of the Yousen game, and shows so much awesome development for the characters it introduced in the previous season. Everyone gets some new abilities, but my favorite reveals have to be Kuroko’s Vanishing Drive and Overflow (that moment when Izuki gets “erased” in the Seirin/Touou game lives in my head rent free), and of course the Zone. Season 1 is nice and season 3 has some really iconic moments, but season 2 is great from start to (almost) finish, and that makes it the strongest of the bunch.
least favorite season:
As I said, it has some iconic moments, but KNB’s weakest season by far is its finale. For one thing, it focuses almost entirely on a single game, and so that game drags on forever, beyond the realm of enjoyment until it becomes tedious to get through. Besides that, though, it goes out of its way to introduce plot threads and characters that don’t really go anywhere (Haizaki and Ogiwara come to mind...) the animation budget takes a noticeable beating, and so do the trajectories of two of Season 2′s most interesting antagonists (Himuro and Akashi). The main saving grace of this season is the Teiko arc, but, enjoyable as it is, under a critical eye it’s still a lengthy, pretty unnecessary detour that stops the main narrative dead in its tracks and all but kills the tension for the final game.
character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate:
Would it be gratuitous to say Akashi, at this point? It’s funny, because I never really liked him, and didn’t understand why so many people did, but I never had any strong opinions about him until recently, when I started looking at his character up close bc I’ve run out of reasons not to. Again, if you like him, that’s totally fine, but I just can’t agree.
my ‘you’re piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave:
Uhh... Imayoshi, I think. I don’t know what it is about this guy, but I love him so much. He’s a shit, and he knows it, but he’s also smart, and funny, and kind of just a big dork? Severely underrated character, with a really unique look (I don’t care if he doesn’t have eyes except when he’s pissed, it’s good character design, you guys are just mean).
my ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave:
Oh, Kuroko... sidelined in your own damn show. I’ve heard people argue that Kuroko is not the protagonist of KNB, and in fact it’s Kagami, and just... whether that’s true or not technically, it just makes me sad for Kuroko bc once again he’s being overlooked in favor of other, more flashy characters on screen. Maybe that’s the point, but still, I don’t see this guy get nearly enough attention considering his name is in the fucking title. Kuroko is every bit as valid and interesting as the other GoM, and the other members of Seirin, often even more so, and he deserves all the love.
my ‘this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it’ ship:
Pretty much anything with Haizaki, but because this is me we’re talking about... AoHai. I used to be interested purely from a hatefucking standpoint, but recently I’ve seen some art and short little ficlets, and... have started to maybe ship it... unironically? Um. Yeah, so that happened.
my ‘they’re kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but i’m not too invested’ ship:
KiKuro. I don’t think I’ve really talked about them before, I love their backstory and dynamic, and I tend to write them together off on the sidelines, but I’m not very passionate about this one. Maybe because it is often used as a background ship, maybe because they both work better with other people (side tangent: their dynamic instantly becomes more interesting the second you throw a third person in the mix... doesn’t matter who it is either, KiKuroKaga? AoKiKuro? KiKuroMomo? I could go on) Idk. It’s sweet, but I don’t often give this pairing a whole lot of thought on its own, maybe I ought to...

People in this fandom are too busy shipping or rooting for the whole “marvel” squad thing and “saving the world” to understand that one of the main themes of snk is the gray morality. That’s so fucking repetitive, And is addressed so much throughout the whole manga in regard to almost every character. No one’s hands are clean, no one is a ‘good person’. 1/2
Tumblr media
Yeah totally. It is literally exhausting to be forced to justify oneself to appreciate a fictional character because some people think he is morally bad. Moreover, since this manga is categorized in some countries as a shōnen, but to mine (country) as a seinen, and....it usually deals with dark things! If this reading doesn't suit them, then nothing obliges them to read it but yes, it is true that it becomes repetitive to hear that Eren is the bad guy in the story and that we are foolish people to support him. 😔
I was insulted as a Nazi, pro-fascist, pro-genocidal...like what? Are people serious? I think they are. Friendly reminder, besides being none of the 3 things mentioned above, it's fucking fiction. As you point out here, enough of these so-called SJWs justifying their good conscience by stalking us like wild animals to try to get the right words into our minds. Fuck you, I don't need you to tell me what's morally right or wrong. 🤭 Yes I love Eren, as I love many other characters in various other fictions. Eren being such a complex character to me, it's hard to fit him into a particular category. He's neither white, nor black, nor even gray, he's just Eren Jaeger. A kid who was able to murder 2/3 adult men at least twice his height and 3 or even 4 times his weight, at the age of 9, to save Mikasa and his own life. A boy brave enough to put his own life in danger to save others and literally throw himself into the mouth of a titan to save Armin.
A boy ready to die to free his oppressed comrades. A boy determined to kill all his enemies. A boy who has forgiven "those who killed his mother." -> Reiner. A boy who freed a little girl who had become a goddess of 2000 years of slavery. A boy who is currently the rumbling activator, but is he really responsible?
To make a last aside, about our friends the SJW are for 3/4 of them, hypocrites. I can't count the number of blogs, posts that see themselves fighting against, for example, pedophilia and the fact (I'll take SNK as material to introduce my example) that enjoying Ereri/Riren had to be seen as something unhealthy... just because Levi is clearly older than Eren and then shipping Levi x Mikasa, it’s also pedophilia then lmao. 🤣 If they were real people, I would certainly question myself, but at the moment, this remains and remains a fiction. If you like Levi!bottom x Top!Eren let's go, it's your right, who cares if other people harass you by saying that you ship men of different ages and that it's morally wrong, if in real life you don't consider pedophilia as something normal. Personally, I don't ship Ereri, but for another reason than Levi's and Eren's age difference. 😅
This blog is meant to be anti-pairing, because Yama and I want it to be 100% Eren-centric. Moreover, if you read SNK correctly, it's clearly complicated to find a real romance in it despite a few canonical couples like Historia x Ymir (104th), or now Annie and Armin, even if, in the end, it's limited to flirting, more than a real romantic story.
What shippers forget is that no matter what your OTP is, don't change according to what others think as it brings YOU happiness and joy, whether it makes sense or not in the canon, on the other hand, never force your opinion on others, under the pretext that you are right here. Don't be mean to others because they don't appreciate the same thing as you do. You have the right to send anyone, but don't forget that they do too. 🙄
Finally, yes Eren is the main character of this series, he's the key character, the story revolves around him, and if people are dumb enough to deny it, too bad for them. I don't force anyone to like Eren, it's a right not to like him as a character, but still keep in line with the canonverse or take literature classes and learn to tell the difference between a protagonist and an antagonist, a hero and an anti-hero. Without Eren, there is no story. 🥴 BTW, thank you very much for enjoying our blog, it means a lot to us!!!!! 💕💕💗💗

1, 5, 23 for the salty asks please
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
I think I *get* the appeal of most of the major pairings, even if I don’t necessarily like them.
The exception being, while it’s not really anyone’s OTP, I have never understood the appeal of Jet/Zuko outside of a very brief fling that never went further than making-out on that ferry that one time. Jet hates the fire nation with such a passion, it ties into very personal trauma, why would this ever be a good idea, finding out that he’s dating the literal prince of the Fire Nation who lied to him about that would hurt him so much?? how traumatising?? and for Zuko to pursue a relationship while lying about something so important and not coming clean... idk, it’s bad, it’s really cruel, quite honestly? And Jet’s not in a place where he could work past that, certainly not forgive, even if Zuko did all the right things and owned up and apologised and defected to the EK resistance right there and then. I also feel like Zuko honestly hates lying and would know better than to lie about something so important (we see him shed his anonymity in Zuko Alone over less). Also, knowing Jet feels this way about the FN, it’s the sort of relationship I can only see Zuko entering as a means of self-harm?
(For whatever reason people always portray Jet as the abusive partner when it seems clear to me, given his ignorance of Zuko’s background, it’d be him most likely to end up hurt?)
5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
oh, z*tara. I was open to z*tara when I rewatched the show, and I’ve actually read a lot of popular z*tara fics in hope of finding something salvageable there but been so disappointed, almost every time, there’s just so much shitty and racist writing there. Honestly in another world where it wasn’t 1. the dominant m/f ship to the point of being oversaturated 2. filled with racist AUs and concepts like slave AUs or pocohontas AUs 3. true to their characters, instead of writing katara as a self-insert or zuko as your standard edgy white boy antagonist, I think I’d actually quite like it? I am a sucker for cheesy comparisons to celestial bodies and silly fire/water parallels, and honestly *in theory* it could actually be quite good – in an AU, ideally, since on rewatch, the supposed rock solid canon evidence for it seems very very flimsy, and Katara hates Zuko (with good reason) until the penultimate episode. I also think the relationship would look very different to how most people would imagine it (I think you’ve mentioned this before, but they have great summer romance potential, as something with great chemistry that would probably never last).
Also, a small bugbear of mine about z*tara: a lot of z*tara fans these days seem also to be r*ylos, and quite frankly, I can’t think of a ship I despise more than that, and it’s so telling that that’s the kind of fictional dynamic they’re drawn to. (also the idea of zuko being compared to kyle ren makes my skin crawl).
z*kka is sometimes testing my patience, but it’s not quite there yet, I still love it. In fairness, I don’t think the fandom is quite as bad as the z*tara fandom – while there are a LOT of issues with the sexualisation of sokka, the reduction of sokka to a trophy husband / the erasure of his water tribe background, all the fucking arranged marriage fics, I feel like the writers/artists are more open and receptive to criticism, on a whole? (but I could be wrong there). there’s certainly none of that insufferable entitlement z*tara fans have – none of that ‘we were robbed!’ or claiming to have a monopoly on feminist interpretations of katara’s character (LMAO) nor is there half as much character-bashing with a lot of appreciation for suki’s character in particular (although a lot of them write the worst itteration of jetko I’ve seen with abusive jet). there’s also the excessive amount of explicit fic, and the way it’s becoming pervasive at times, like it seems unavoidable in a lot of meta. it’s also frustrating as z*kka shippers tend to be some of the worst offenders of reducing zuko to a soft blushy nerd boy these days and erasing the fact that he’s an asshole (z*kka is an asshole/asshole ship I’m not taking criticism). I still don’t hate z*kka. Wish it was still a rarepair though :((
23. Unpopular character you love?
I don’t think there are *many* unpopular characters in ATLA. I want to say suki as I love suki a lot and have a lot of thoughts/headcanons on what she’s like, her background, etc. but I honestly don’t feel like I talk about suki enough to justify that opinion!
I also love Yun from the Kyoshi novels, terrible tragic villain right there, and nobody seems to talk about him :(

002: Narcissa, and also Lily; 001: dorcas/Marlene, and lucissa
That’s a lot, but here you go!
002 Narcissa
How I feel about this character: She’ll never be my favorite, but I do love sticking her in as a snarky, snobby side character.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: I don’t actively ship her, but I think she and Lucius are probably well-suited for each other, and since I don’t have super strong ship opinions on her, I’m open to reading and embracing anything presented to me.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: I like the idea of her and Regulus being close. She’s the baby in her family, but Regulus is the baby in the family overall, so I think she would have felt very protective of him and tried to shelter him but also steer him toward more traditional pureblood values if she ever thought he was wavering or acting a bit too much like Sirius. She was devastated when she heard about his death, even more so when she learned it was (supposedly) caused when he tried to defect from the Death Eaters. Narcissa sees a lot of Regulus in Draco and it scares her.
My unpopular opinion about this character: Lucius probably didn’t care much about all of the stuff Draco complained to him about, but Narcissa did. She was the one who always pushed Lucius to take care of anything that hurt or inconvenienced their son.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish she had some on the page interactions with more characters. There’s so many she’s related to or would have known that it’s a shame we never go to see her show a bit more complexity when directly confronted with Sirius, Andromeda, or Tonks.
my OTP: Probably Lucius just because it’s canon and Narcissa isn’t a character I spend much time shipping. I like her potential, just
my cross over ship: I don’t read cross overs
a headcanon fact: After Regulus’s death, it was Narcissa who sent a letter to Sirius (care of Andromeda) telling Sirius the facts (such as she believed them to be) about his brother’s death.
002 Lily
How I feel about this character: She’s fantastic! I love her, and I love writing her!
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Generally just James. I do enjoy some Jegulily too, but that’s about it. I see Lily as a character who could be very happy and lead a fulfilling life without a romantic partner, so if I’m not shipping her with James I generally just picture her having casual flings and otherwise enjoying life as a happy, confident single woman.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Sirius and Lily! I mean, I wrote a 100,000 word fic about them becoming friends (also some other stuff happened, but mostly friendship). I think they would have really challenged each other (which would have made them struggle to get along for a while, but once they connected it would have been very good for both of them). They called each other on their bullshit, weren’t afraid to yell at each other, but genuinely listened to each other and always apologized the next morning when they fought.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I don’t know if it’s an unpopular opinion, but I think she struggled with self-confidence and self-worth a lot more than most people ever knew. She was probably very good at hiding it behind perfectionism and some rather exhausting facades. The reason she fell in love with James was because he had this perfect mix of pushing and supporting her in a way that finally allowed her to relax and be fully her imperfect self with someone, and that was priceless.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Honestly, the thing I want most is for her to have had some ghostly/afterlife/other moment where she absolutely rips into Snape and all the terrible things he did in his “love” for her.
my OTP: Jily. We don’t know from canon how exactly these two went from antagonistic to deeply in love, but what little we do know implies a story of personal growth, second chances, adventure, and deep, deep love, and that’s gorgeous.
a headcanon fact: Her favorite band is ABBA.
001 Dorcas Meadowes/Marlene McKinnon
when I started shipping it if I did: I probably started shipping it while reading We Were Infinite by @wewereinfinitelywolfstar. That might not have been the first time I encountered it, but it was the first time it made a mark and made the characters feel real and shippable.
my thoughts: I like this ship a lot! It’s definitely drenched in that First War tragedy, but still gotta love more wlw ships, and that’s what AUs and canon-divergent fics are for.
What makes me happy about them: We no almost next to nothing about these two, so they’re basically blank slates to build upon. I personally head canon them as a Slytherin/Gryffindor couple and love playing with that dynamic. I also love the opportunity to build heroic Slytherin characters.
What makes me sad about them: Canon, obviously. Making them a couple does also add to the “dead lesbians” and “bury your gays” tropes, which sucks.
things done in fanfic that annoys me: It’s pretty common for Marlene to have a tomboy-ish or more wild personality in fics, which is cool, but Dorcas doesn’t seem to get as much personality in a lot of fics where these two appear.
things I look for in fanfic: Well-developed characterizations, often AUs or canon divergent fics that don’t leave them dead.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I’m down for Marlene and Sirius as a ship (Blackinnon). As for Dorcas, I have such strong headcanons about her, but I haven’t really thought about other ships for her. I’d be open to suggestions or whatever I encounter in fics, but honestly in my head canons, Dorcas is very ambitious and career-oriented (falling for Marlene was unexpected and not part of the plan), so I could see her too busy to have a romantic relationship or finding a spouse who could aid or complement her career ambitions.
My happily ever after for them: They live through the war, adopt a couple of orphans. Marlene coaches youth Quidditch teams for their kids and has some sort of freelance job she can do while being flexible schedule-wise. Dorcas rises through the ranks at the Ministry and is elected Minister for Magic instead of Cornelius Fudge. She fucking crushes it. When she’s served a few terms and the kids are out of school, Dorcas takes a job as ambassador to some other country and she and Marlene see more of the world and attend lots of fancy embassy dinner parties.
who is the big spoon/little spoon: They don’t really spoon. Marlene flops like a starfish in bed and Dorcas tends to sleep on her stomach or side. They do cuddle on the couch though, and Marlene likes to lay her head in Dorcas’s lap and have Dorcas scratch at her scalp and finger comb her hair.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Dancing. One of their first dates was a disastrous Muggle dance class where neither of them realized the Muggle instructor wouldn’t understand that they were there as a couple and paired them up with various male partners. They both managed to laugh through it and went home and practiced with each other. After that, they learned a lot of different dances and one of them will often spontaneously pull the other into a dance across the kitchen or living room, even if there’s no music on. They take turns leading.
001 Lucissa
(sorry if this one’s a little disappointing)
when I started shipping it if I did: I don’t really ship it, but I don’t not ship it either, if that makes sense.
my thoughts: I don’t actively ship it. It’s there, it’s canon. I’m fine with it. I just don’t put much thought into the relationship.
What makes me happy about them: They both seem to care for their son very deeply.
What makes me sad about them: I’m sad that we didn’t get to see more of Narcissa sooner, otherwise no real sad feelings toward them.
things done in fanfic that annoys me: When the criminal acts they (particularly Lucius) commit are excused way too easily, or they change their politics way too swiftly and seamlessly.
things I look for in fanfic: I don’t really look for this ship in fics. If it’s there I’m usually fine with it, if not, that’s fine too. I do like fics that give me more of Narcissa’s complexity and inner conflict though. She’s clearly got layers.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I really don’t put enough thought into these characters and their love lives to ship them with other characters. I’m open to it though. No strong preexisting feelings mean I’m pretty open-minded to new ships for these two.
My happily ever after for them: Actually having to make some restitution for their crimes/wrongdoings, then probably moving away from Britain to live quietly in like Monaco or somewhere.
who is the big spoon/little spoon: Honestly, they probably have separate bedrooms.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Plotting political coups while drinking very expensive wine.

me before playing blue lions: haha I’m not like ~other girls~ I don’t like Dimitri and I think he’s boring and basic.
me after playing blue lions: I will die for Dimitri.
I finally finished Azure Moon!! Can’t believe it took me 4 damn months to finish this route. Just like with Crimson Flower, I decided to do a very long write up of my thoughts of this route after letting my thoughts marinate for a bit. There will be spoilers for both Azure Moon and Crimson Flower. Also disclaimer: these are just my personal opinions.
Tldr: this route was so fucking good!!!! I jumped ship from being team Edie/BE to team Dimitri/BL faster than Sylvain jumps girlfriends because I enjoyed this route more than Crimson Flower in almost every way possible. The Blue Lions are my KIDS and I will die for each and every one of them. Blue Lions may not be my first route/house, but this is where my heart rightfully lies.
I guess the first thing I should get out of the way are the negatives. While this isn’t really a complaint about AM specifically and more so the narrative over the entire game... the conflict between Edelgard and Dimitri seems really stupid and contrived. In other games, war happens because the villain is evil. In this game, war happens because the villain is fucking stupid. Basically, I still ain’t convinced that Edelgard’s war was ever necessary LMAO. She straight up nuked the church’s authority and relevancy out of orbit the chapter before the time skip, so she technically already accomplished her goal; why she still feels the need to go on a savage conquest alludes me.
Speaking of nuking the church’s relevancy out of orbit, that’s exactly what happened to Rhea LOL. Despite all the church goons clamoring every .5 seconds about how they gotta save Rhea, we literally never see her again at all after the time skip, even at the end of the game. It makes no sense why Edelgard would keep Rhea imprisoned and not kill her, especially when Rhea seemingly served no greater purpose to Edelgard and became completely irrelevant in the war phase.
Edie says some mumbo jumbo of “I weighed the victims of this war against the victims of the world and I deem that there will be less victims of war” like bitch, how??? How do you tangibly quantify “victims of this world”. If she means “people who had a shitty life because of shitty society”, then those people are always going to exist because every society has its flaws. Even if you change society, you aren’t decreasing that number because you’re only solving problems by creating new ones (Edelgard’s specialty). Also the mental gymnastics you have to do to be tortured by an evil organization only to team up with said evil organization to take down another organization that, unless I missed something, isn’t even directly responsible for the death of all your siblings??? In both CF and AM, Edelgard comes off as incredibly thoughtless and illogical in her actions and I can’t help but feel that if she had been just a little bit more diplomatic, then maybe, just maybe, she could have found a better solution without starting a bloody war.
This brings me to the god forsaken chat between Edelgard and Dimitri. Dimitri demanding to know why Edelgard started the war only for her to go “it was the only way” has about the same narrative weight as “Riku why did you become one with the darkness?!” “Because I’m the worst”. Instead of bitching about whose ~ideals~ are better, how about y’all sit down and actually discuss what each person wants to accomplish and maybe figure out a way to accomplish these goals without murdering each other over it? Not that I think Edelgard would accept anything BUT murder, but jesus, this is why you don’t leave diplomatic matters to actual children.
Speaking of why you don’t leave diplomatic matters to children, god that Gronder battle. I get that it’s supposed to be an epic showdown between the three houses that mirrored the mock battle pre time skip but... the Kingdom had literally NO reason to fight the Alliance!!! The reasons they provided to justify why the Kingdom and Alliance couldn’t team up at Gronder was so fucking dumb, especially when two chapters down the line, Claude is knocking at our door begging for help. I will say tho, I never knew how much I appreciated himbo in distress Claude until now lmao.
Rodrigue's death was also really poorly done imo. As much as I liked having Dimitri’s father figure be the one to snap him out of his insanity, (I love found father/son relationships...) how on earth are you guys so fucking incompetent that you let this tiny little girl kill Rodrigue??? It doesn’t help that the exact same thing happened with Jeralt and Monica. This... just ain’t it, chief.
I think the biggest bone I have to pick at AM specifically is... so what the fuck is the truth behind the Tragedy of Duscur LMAO??? They literally blue balled me by dropping the bomb of “Dimitri’s step mom may have conspired in it” ONLY TO NOT DO ANYTHING WITH IT. I assume that the full truth behind the Duscur tragedy will probably be revealed in VW (I hope) because it involves the slithers but it’s highkey ridiculous that the BL goons... never actually find out what really happened, and why. And I get that the story is about them moving on from their trauma and the past, but they should have at least figured out the actual truth behind it so they can get the closure they deserve???
Despite the gripes I have with some of the writing, unless VW or SS is mind blowingly amazing, this route will easily stand as the best route for me, because.... it is kind of is mind blowingly amazing. I wholeheartedly love character driven stories, and this route absolutely delivers in that respect-- the character writing is amazing and is essentially the heart of this story. To think Dimitri and the Blue Lions were the lord/house I was least interested in at first. Even after hearing people talk about what the BL goons and Dimitri’s character arc was roughly about, I was still blown away by just how damn fucking good it was, and this route exceeded my expectations in every way possible.
When playing CF, I struggled to connect with a lot of the beagles; I didn’t have that problem at all with the BL goons and the route does a phenomenal job at making me actually give a shit about these characters and their problems. Childhood friend squad (+Marianne and Ashe) are easily my favourite characters in this game by a landslide, and the dynamic between not only the childhood friend squad, but all the BL goons, was just so, so amazing. Watching these characters that are seemingly joined by a single tragedy, rise above all their suffering as they grow, heal, and overcome hardship together is just so... MY KIDS... MY HEART..... I really got the sense of not only their shared pain, but also shared intimacy, care, and friendship. Their support conversations with each other had everything; from goofy and fun, to soothing and nurturing, to painful and harrowing.
The connections that the BL goons have to the pre time skip missions gave part 1 story so much more meaning, and it only gets better after the time skip. I really appreciate that the BL bean boys actually feel relevant to the main story, and that their input and opinions actually mattered. The cast’s struggle to come to a consensus on the best course of action during the war phase made them feel like actual people with opinions, unlike in CF, where everyone was just a mindless passenger to Edie’s not so merry joyride. This also made Dimitri’s arc way more impactful because the narrative actually holds him accountable for the consequences that his behavior/poor decisions had on others. What I also really liked about the war phase is that you could just feel how war torn the kingdom was and how much everything went to shit after the time skip. I felt really strongly to the characters’ sense of hopelessness at fighting a losing battle as they struggled to keep their home land in tact while everything just kept spiraling out of control and deteriorating further.
So to see the BL goon beans slowly, one battle at a time, turn the tide of the war and push back against the corner they were backed in, was SO fulfilling and rewarding. The battle of Fhirdiad is probably my favourite battle in the entire game because it felt like all the suffering and toiling that the BL goons went through was finally worth it, and just watching the kingdom slowly heal after being liberated was just such a good feeling. This kind of payoff is something I think CF sorely lacked, since tbh, I struggled to celebrate Edie’s victories with her. Though I do appreciate how Edie’s a much more threatening antagonistic force than either Dimitri or Rhea were in CF too bad Edelgard’s boss battle was pathetically easy and Dimitri shredded through her armor like swiss cheese... at least Rhea put up a slightly challenging fight.
I could gush about the characters all day, but Dimitri? He makes this game, 100%. This truly felt like his story and he was the star of this route. On a superficial level, I’m a basic bitch as well as a slut for angsty boys who have trouble talking about their trauma because I want them to rail me. I fucking loved his feral personality it was just so fun to watch and interact with LMAO 10/10 would let him use me until the flesh falls from my bones. His dialogue in this state is just so demeaning, belittling and raw that it somehow comes a full circle and becomes charming I promise I’m not a sick masochist.
I’m also a degenerate and dimileth is my otp. The way the relationship between Dimitri and Byleth develops over the game truly felt like a bond forged over time. The way Dimitri admits that he couldn’t trust Byleth at first because he was put off by the way they could “kill without batting an eye”, to being so elated when he sees them smile for the first time that he’s completely mesmerized when they starts expressing emotion... oof, talk about otp material. I think what really sold me is the way he’s their anchor after Jeralt’s death; their emotional support both in a traditional sense, but also in a darker sense when he declares he will kill anyone so they desire it because their enemies are his enemies. Character A declaring they’d die for character B? Soft shit. Character A declaring they’d kill for character B? A+ romance right there, boys.
On a non superficial level, Dimitri’s character arc of his fall from grace and subsequent redemption was absolutely phenomenal. Just seeing how far he sinks, how far he goes, only to see how far he climbs his way back up after hitting rock bottom, was such a roller coaster and I loved every minute of it. I also probably like revenge stories more than I care to admit. Dimitri has everything; blood lust, cruelty, obsession, but also empathy and compassion so extreme that it’s his very own innate kindness that drives him into insanity, which is what makes him such a compelling character in my eyes. The extremity of his psychosis was absolutely heart breaking, but despite everything, him making the conscious decision to change for the better and rise up to fulfill his role as king was just astounding to watch.
I will say though... maybe I have a screwed up moral compass but tbh Dimitri brutally killing imperial soldires didn’t really upset me because... this is war??? That he didn’t even start?? Everyone is killing everyone??? Even if he never went feral, he’d still be killing because his bloody kingdom is being invaded?????? But I digress.
While I think just how damn avoidable everything was kind of detracts from the tragedy of his relationship with Edelgard, I still really loved how steadfast and unconditional his love for her was (after he stops going feral), and you can tell just how much she meant to him every time he spoke of her. I also love how the dagger kind of becomes a symbolic motif throughout the story, and Edie throwing the dagger at him in the final cutscene as a sign of her wholehearted rejection of him was just fucking depressing, but also very fitting of her character.
I adore the whole overarching narrative and themes surrounding grief and death, befitting of a war game. How, as tempting as it is to constantly keep the memory of the dead alive, there comes a point where you have to move on and not let your life be ruled by those no longer around. The way that the characters react to the death of loved ones and grieve so differently was a huge highlight of the BL squad’s characterizations, which just makes them feel more alive and human. Honestly, no words can really describe just how incredible of an experience Azure Moon was.
Anyway my order from favourite to least favourite BL goon bean boys are: Dimitri > Ashe >/= Sylvain >/= Felix > Ingrid > Mercedes > Annette > Dedue. (I love Ashe/Sylvain/Felix almost equally LOL)
tldr my experience with Azure Moon:
Tumblr media
tfw my second best girl is childhood friends with all the best boys in the entIRE GAME and she settles for a guy with a dead wife, daughter, and most likely triple her age :|.
I’ll be finally playing Golden Deer next, which I’m gonna do on NG+ Maddening so.... hope that goes well!!

The 100?
Thank you Nonnie!!! :)
Top 5 favourite characters:
Echo / Emori / Raven / Murphy / Octavia
Other characters you like:
A lot, actually! Off the top of my head, Lexa, Clarke (although not in the way most people like her, I enjoy her as an anti-hero lmao), Bellamy, Monty, Jasper, Lincoln, Indra!
Least favourite characters:
Aside from the obvious villains obviously, I’m gonna say Kane and Abby. I never really cared for their stories, I’ve hated Abby since season 1 and Kane since s5 there’s just something about them being absolutely awful leaders and blaming kids for their failures that I can’t get behind.
Otps:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Basically lmao.
No but seriously, I think their love story is just great on so many levels, they’re the only love story I really care about in the show.
Other couples I really like are: Bellamy and Echo, Octavia and Lincoln, Octavia and Niylah, Octavia and Diyoza, Murphy and Emori and Raven, Echo and Raven, Jasper and Maya, Monty and Harper
Notps:
..... Bellarke lmao.
I enjoy the dynamic between Bellamy and Clarke, but I never saw it as romantic, and that’s how I enjoyed it. I love their ennemies to reluctant allies dynamic, I love the fact that their relationship is dysfunctional I love the parallels between Clarke and Octavia. But I don’t enjoy it at all as a romantic dynamic.
Favourite friendships:
Monty and Jasper, Octavia and Jasper, Raven and Murphy
Favourite family:
This is almost only found family because this show has a ton of found family dnamics that I love!! The Blake siblings, Spacekru, Octavia Diyoza and Hope, Raven and Finn.
Favourite episodes:
Murphy’s Law, Blood Must have Blood part 1 and part 2, Thirteen, The Chosen, Pramfayia, Red Queen, The Garden
Favourite season/book/movie:
Season 2. It has my favorite version of Lexa, it has Bellamy and Echo meeting, it has the most interesting antagonists (in my opinion haha). Season 4 is a close second though!
Favourite quotes:
“You believe that to defeat an ennemy who will stop at nothing, you must stop at nothing. How is that any different than Blood must have Blood?” - Luna in s3, because I think this quote shows very well the central conflict of the show, one that was established by Finn in s1: We have to try not to repeat history, and yet everytime, they do repeat it. I disagree with Luna in that instance because the threat that was ALI wasn’t like any other, but I agree with her sentiment.
“In peace, may you leave this shore. In love, may you find the next. Safe passage on your travels. Until our final journey to the Ground. May we meet again.” LISTEN. If there’s is one thing of the world building I absolutely adore, it’s the Traveler’s Blessing. It’s a beautiful prayer, and it gives me all the right emotions when I think about it. I was disappointed with what the show was making of it in seasons 2 and 3, with characters saying it all around, but then there are two instances that really get to me: Octavia and Bellamy saying it over the dead radio at the end of s4, and Monty / Bellamy and Clarke saying it at the end of season 5.
Best musical moment:
I loved the way the music carried the scene right after Lexa’s death, how it melts from Lexa’s death and Titus saying his ritual words, to Becca reaching earth, back to Lexa and the Flame coming out of her.
Moment that made you fangirl/boy the hardest:
Oh boy there are a LOT Off the top of my head: when Monty refuses to leave Jasper alone when he gives his blood to Maya, when Murphy says “Touch me again and I’ll end you... in a non-criminal way”, when Becho was confirmed in s5, When Clarke managed to align the satellite dish in Pramfyia, when Octavia confronted Skaikru in The Chosen,.... I can’t think of others right now but there are a lot lmao You can check out my favorite scenes series if you want, I’m working on it slowly!
When it really disappointed you:
A lot of times, honestly... I’m gonna say, all of season 6. I hated it. It had so much potential, with characters having to deal with the aftermath of season 5, Monty and Harper dying, Jordan existing, Wonkru.... Instead we got a whole mess that didn’t do much for any character and I was really disappointed.
Saddest moment:
Lincoln’s death. I knew it was coming because I knew the actor was leaving the show, but I was so NOT READY for it omg it’s the scene I still cry everytime I watch it because it’s so sad and heartwrenching....
Most well done character death:
Okay so I think The 100 is really bad at having well done character deaths, so I’m gonna say my less well-done one lmaoooo
Lexa’s. Her death was so stupid. I wasn’t in the fandom at the time so I wasn’t aware of the awful queerbaiting that was going on, so without talking about BTS and marketing ploys, I do believe that her death was heavily predicted by the show. However, it was a stupid death and Lexa was too awesome a character to die by a stray bullet. She deserved a proper send-off, she deserved to die in an epic battle, or fighting for what she believed in,..... not a bullet.
Favourite guest star:
I know Shawn Mendes (Mendez? I don’t know lmao i don’t know him) was a guest star but I don’t know any other guest star so I guess that’s my answer lmao
Favourite cast member:
I don’t follow the cast, so I don’t have a favorite xD
Character you wish was still alive:
Jasper and Finn both deserve to still be alive, because the show treated their mental struggles like shit and I’m very bitter about that!
One thing you hope really happens:
Honestly, I don’t know? We have four episodes left of the entire show and I have no idea where it’s headed lmao I guess I hope both Emori and Murphy survive to see the end and have a long and happy life <3
Most shocking twist:
Okay I actually have three so I’ll you my top three:
1- The revelation of the Mountain Men. I was absolutely NOT expecting this to happen and I was gasping and going “nooooooooo way!!!” at my computer because it was so out of nowhere!! I loved it lmao
2- Murphy discovers that ALI destroyed the world: the ending of s2. That scene is so chilling, Murphy watching the video of Chris crying and killing himself, cut with scenes of Jaha getting to the mansion and the wholse scene with ALI herself... that whole scene was really cool and unexpected!
3- Clarke and Jaha steal the bunker during the conclave. I was so SHOOK by this moment, it was such a bold move and I loved it!
When did you start watching/reading?:
Early January, 2015. I was back at my appartment waiting for the semester to start, my roommates weren’t back from the holidays yet, and I was bored. So I started the show, and I binged all of season 1 and half of season 2 in 24 hours xD I caught up at Spacewalker, and then had to wait two weeks for the next episode to air and it was agony!!!!
Best animal/creature:
HELIOS THE BEST HORSE THERE IS
Favourite location:
The Second Dawn Bunker. Yeah I know it’s strange coming from me because I absolutely hate so many things about the bunker xD But it was such a cool location!! With the rotunda/arena, the farm, the huge corridors,.....
Trope you wish they would stop using:
“It’s the end of the world, whatever shall we do???” I’m just tired you guys. Nuclear apocalypses and other bombings should not be that common lmao
One thing this show/book/film does better than others:
I love the fact that it has so many different and well developped female characters. It shouldn’t be rare, but it still is, and this show really stands out to me for that reason. I’m not saying it’s the peak of feminism or anything because lmao IT’S NOT. But the women of the show have agency, freedom, they’re all distinct from one another and not just tropes and cliches. I really like it.
Funniest moments:
Nothing comes to mind right now? I feel like an idiot lmao I have so many moments that make me laugh and I can’t think of a single one right now x)
Couple you would like to see:
I would love to have canon Murphy x Emori x Raven!!
Actor/Actress you want to join the cast:
Nobody haha sorry
Favourite outfit:
Blodreina’s cape thingy!
Tumblr media
Favourite item:
Raven’s necklace!!! I’m actually hoping to make myself one someday, it’s my favorite thing ^^
Do you own anything related to this show/book/film?:
Nothing!
What house/team/group/friendship group/family/race etc would you be in?:
I wish I could be spacekru haha they’re the best found family of the whole show and we deserved a flashback episode for them <3
Most boring plotline:
the entirety of season 6 xDDDDD
No but seriously, I’m gona say Illian’s plot. Honestly I never got into it at all, I didn’t care enough about him, or his family.
Most laughably bad moment:
I mean, the pilot is pretty cringe-worthy xD
Best flashback/flashfoward if any:
the flashbacks of the Dark Year.
Most layered character:
Octavia
Most one dimensional character:
Jordan lmao I was so disappointed with his story in s6.....
Scariest moment:
OMG in season 2 when Bellamy, Octavia and the guards go into the old parking garage and CAROL OF THE BELLS START PLAYING THAT WAS SO FUCKING CREEPY
Grossest moment:
Ewwww the whole worm thing happening in s5, AND the weird trees growing inside people in s6 xD
Best looking male:
S5 Murphy, hands down. Also s7 Murphy cause he spends half his time shirtless lmao
Best looking female:
Emori! She’s so pretty.
Who you’re crushing on (if any):
I mean everybody is gorgeous but I don’t have a particular fixation haha
Favourite cast moment:
I don’t watch interviews or BTS stuff so I don’t know much, but Richard Harmon wearing hie sister’s costume and wig was really funny ^^
Favourite transportation:
Becca’s rocket
Most beautiful scene (scenery/shot wise):
It’s very obvious symbolism, but I love the last shot of Blood must have blood part 1, with Clarke standing alone in front of the door of Mount Weather.
Also, Octavia forcing the clans into submission in Red Queen, the mini conclave in fron of the doors of the vafeteria. The shots in that scene were really good!
Unanswered question/continuity issue/plot error that bugs you:
Lmaooooooo do you have ten hours? Because that’s how long I can ramblr about the inconsistencies and plotholtes of this show x) Off the top of my head:
- Why does everybody on the Ark speak Enlighs?
- If Becca knew Nightblood could let you live on Earth then why didn’t she distribute it among the space stations?
- Why did Cadogan build the bunker in the middle of the city when he had a prefectly good FOREST??
- If Lexa is the first Commander to unite the clans then what was the role of the Commander before her?
- Why didn’t the Ark send one adult with the 100 (Pyke) to protect and help them?
- How come the Eligius IV prisoners don’t die when they come back to Earth in s5 since they have no nightblood and didn’t adapt through evolution?
- How is it that Spacekru survived with algea alone but Wonkru had to have this huge variety of plants?? WHAT’S THE MAGIC ALGEA MONTY???
- Why did Mount Weather crash the Exodus ship?
- If the ressources on the Ark are so scarce then why would they float people with clothes on them?
- How come Raven could visit Finn in prison but Bellamy couldn’t visit Octavia?? If Octavia was in solitary, why?
...... Okay i’m gonna stop for now lmao but I could write an entire memoir on the inconsistencies of this show lmao
Best promo:
That one:
Tumblr media
At what point did you fall in love with this show/book:
I’m thinking Murphy’s Law? The first few episodes were a little too teenage-drama for me but this episode shifted my opinion enough to get me to keep watching ^^

I was tagged by @pretty--thief for this one!
Rules: tag 9 people you’d like to know better (I’m not gonna tag anyone since I think everybody has done it already? idk, I’ve been super busy at work I’m failing to keep up here; please treat it as though I have tagged you if you want to do this! You can @ me and everything)
Top 3 Ships
1. Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth (A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones)
Tumblr media
I’ve been shipping these idiots for twenty fucking years, since A Clash of Kings and it has been an often painful ride. I waited so long for them to get together and finally be happy so YOU CAN IMAGINE my dismay when season 8 went down the way it did. The day 8x04 aired I may have experienced the biggest emotional pendulum swing of my life, from when the stills of the kiss were leaked to when I watched the actual end of the episode. Anyway, they’re both still alive for now and will be until Martin gets off his butt so basically I think they’re now ours to do with what we will and what we will is give them the happy ending THEY SO CLEARLY DESERVE I MEAN COME ON. READ THE SOURCE MATERIAL DAN AND DAVID. WHAT THE FUCK.
Ahem.
2. Benton Fraser/Ray Vecchio (due South)
Me, discovering that tumblr does not have a single Fraser/Vecchio gif in its GIF catalog:
Tumblr media
ANYWAY the internet at least provided this so here you go:
Tumblr media
This is my single biggest happy place pairing. Though I have also happily read and written Fraser/Vecchio/Kowalski and Kowalski/Vecchio (and usually Fraser paired with Janet in those cases), Fraser/Vecchio is (along with JB) the OTP of my heart. They just love each other so much???Plus you get “together we’re better than we are separately” canonically stated and it’s VERY TRUE. SOMETIMES THE WORLD COMES TO YOU. AKA YOUR BOYFRIEND WITH YOUR FAVORITE HAT.
Anyway. My experience in the FV fandom in the mid-2000s is a treasured memory even if it kind of ended in an explosion. Heh.
3. Roberta Warren/Alvin Murphy (Z Nation)
Tumblr media
this spot ALMOST went to Michael/Mahone from Prison Break and in fact as I type this I’m second-guessing myself about not choosing them, BUT I decided to give it to the ‘ship that I was slightly more productive with in terms of creative output and that’s Warren and Murphy from Z Nation. Murphy is the asshole failboat and only living survivor of a zombie bite and Warren is the badass team leader who agrees to ferry him across country to a lab where they’ll use his blood to make a cure. That’s how their relationship starts at least and it gets WILD from there. This ship isn’t canonical although there are ‘I love yous’ sort of exchanged at the end of the last season. But they never even hug. IT’S COMPLICATED.
There’s banter and height difference and Murphy becoming a better man just through association with Warren and they’re friends and antagonists and they are definitely Weird About Each Other and everyone knows it. (Sounds a lot like Jaime/Brienne? Yeah. I HAVE A TYPE.) It hits ALL my favorite shipping buttons. CURIOUS? You can watch this vid I made about them to see more. Limited zombies.
Last Song You Listened To
Matt Nathanson, “Still” which has this excellent lyric:
I remember nonstop earthquake dreams of you You're coming on fast like good dreams do All night long
Last Movie You Watched
All the way through probably Frozen 2, which I loved. We got about halfway through another re-watch of Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse and just haven’t gotten back to it yet.
Reading
Fanfic almost exclusively. I’m about to start sameboots’ painter Jaime AU next, I think, which I am VERY excited about. And then probably delve into another long one. Maybe Living Fiction finally. My To Read list for fic is excruciatingly long; I wish I read faster and/or didn’t have so much writing inspiration. Heh.
Last Thing You Ate
Half an avocado! It was delicious. I ate half in the morning and then the other half in the afternoon as a snack. I AM the avocado problem.

fern’s (obnoxiously long) list of ships and otps—in absolutely no particular order, okay?
2. Stiles Stilinski + Derek Hale
Let’s talk about an oldie but a goodie. By oldie, I mean by like a few years. By goodie, I mean fuels my trash-panda brain with hearts and butterflies and biting kinks. (It’s a strange place up there even (read: especially) on a good day.)
Tumblr media
This is a pairing that I never gave too much credence during the show. I actually never really took as anything more than what the show painted, probably because I watched Teen Wolf as it aired, so I was young and didn’t understand I could want things that were not canon.
Then I found Teen Wolf fan fiction courtesy of a friend, and my life has never been the same.
Sterek is that ship that I will read in ANY trope. I can’t say that about many pairings, but I crave Sterek like I crave those little Chobani flip top yogurts—you know the ones! S’mores all the way, okay—that make me feel a little boujee for some reason. They feel fancy and a little forbidden. Don’t ask why yogurt is forbidden. ANYWAYS most of my favorite Sterek fics are canon compliant or have something to do with mating. I like what I like.
Stiles Stilinski is your typical oddball best friend. I went to type sidekick, but Stiles isn’t the sidekick to me. Sure, the show paints Scott as the hero in every situation, and he is. I’ll give the dopey true alpha that. But without Stiles, things wouldnt even fucking happen. He’s the brains, the smarts, the researcher, the silent, background protector. He’s more important and crucial than people give him credit for. Stiles is the person in the group that you don’t really feel in the moment, but his absence is deafening when they’re no longer able to fall back on him. He’s the comedian relief during high stress. He’s the panicky pack member when needed. He’s almost like the one you look to when you need to know how to truly feel about something.
Stiles Stilinski is also bisexual. I don’t make the rules. I just enforce them.
Derek Hale is...an odd bird. In the beginning, Derek is the enemy, the antagonist that you don’t really want to hate, the reluctant helper that is somehow an ally and an enemy. His whole characterization makes no sense at first. He’s so unsure of himself, so uncertain of every move he makes regarding all things werewolf related, that he comes off abrasive and calculating. As time goes on, we see Derek go from brooding and aggressive to tame and wise. Derek is suddenly lacking all of the knowledge yet having all of it. Essentially I think Derek just grew up. He matured as anticlimactic as that sounds. We first meet him when he’s twenty-three—right?—and being young and without a pack is probably tough. I wouldn’t know since I am not a werewolf.
Also Derek Hale is probably the straight friend that has a sexual awakening thanks to Stiles. Again I don’t make the rules. I just enforce them.
Some of my favorite fanfics in the Sterek variety:
All of these are explicit because I am a little smut slut, okay? Don’t come over here and judge me.
Message if you’d like more fic reccomendations!
Again, this got a little carried away, but anyone who really knows me understands that I’m a liar and every post will be like this. So yeehaw mothertruckers.

your thoughts on mr gayboy josuke please...
JOSUKE BRAINROT REAL YALL ARE ENABLING ME
How I feel about this character
i think that him being just...kind and polite and friendly to everyone unless theyre antagonistic or threatening someone is so, so strong in a character. i like that he’s quick to make friends with someone, and i like that he’s able to do all this while dealing with the knowledge that theres a serial killer out there. that theres stand users doing shit in and to his town.
he deals with so much in such a short span of time. the fact that he struggles to face the fact that he cant bring people back is heartbreaking the first time it happens with his grandfather. and its even MORE heartbreaking when it happens with okuyasu and he just. continues to carry him around.
his character is INCREDIBLE in my opinion. like. he’s quick on his feet, quick thinking, and hes smart. i love his character flaws because they really do balance him out, and he’s funny too. he’s just genuinely charming.
idk SDFJFD god. he’s my biggest fucking comfort character . i think about him a lot. i find it really hard to put it into word tho
All the people I ship romantically with this character
just okuyasu fksjfsd :”)))))
My non-romantic OTP for this character
like i answered earlier: i LOVE yukako and him being friends.
i also LOVE his and oku’s friendship obviously i just . theyre in love bro.
My unpopular opinion about this character
him saying that he’ll protect morioh after his grandfather DOESNT mean he’d be a cop. cop josuke is weak thinking. fuck cops.
personally, i think this kid would go into something in the medical field. crazy d aside, i think he’s seen one too many people he cares about hurt (die, or almost die), and he wouldnt want that to happen again.
i also like that his special interest is fashion :) n i like the idea that he’d want to do smth in fashion too
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon.
OH i honestly just wanted more moments with Tomoko or Joseph (or Jotaro for that matter)
like.. i love Tomoko, shes such a good character and Josuke and her care about each other so much like.. idk i would kill for some more bonding
same w/ Joseph and Jotaro.. like. we get a little bit in the Shizuka episode/Ratt episode, but i JSKFKFD idk i just ....... i would love for josuke to bond with his newfound family members a bit more :”)
