Finally Getting Help (pt 15)
Masterpost
The conversation trailed off as the stars came out and Danny started to watch them, head propped against Jason’s shoulder as he stared up at the sky. Jason was content to watch the fire, the flickering was hypnotic. Time passed slowly, until Danny gave a jaw cracking yawn that made Jason chuckle.
“How about we douse the fire and head to bed huh? It’s been a long day,” Jason suggested and Danny nodded, reluctantly pulling away from Jason he got up with a groan. Jason was about to go grab a bucket of water when Danny gestured and a wash of frost rushed over the ground and doused the fire with a sizzle and a puff of smoke and steam. “How many powers do you have?” Jason blurted.
“I don’t even know, I’m still developing them sometimes,” Danny sighed as he shuffled towards the tent “Clockwork says it’s something to do with me being half human. Most ghost’s powers are sort of stuck but I’m still growing and changing so I can keep learning. I sort of eventually figure out any power I see anyone else use. As long as they’re not too specialized, I’m not going to learn time manipulation just cause I saw Clockwork do it.”
“Clockwork?” Jason asked as he followed Danny.
“The ancient of time, he keeps an eye out for me. He means well, even though he’s a cryptic asshole most of the time.”
“Daniel!” A voice Jason didn’t recognize shouted, but he was guessing Danny did, and it was not a welcome visitor by the way he flinched and immediately looked up with glowing green eyes. “I knew if I kept the trackers on you you would leave that god forsaken mansion eventually.” An odd, almost vampiric looking man with red eyes said as he floated down towards them.
Jason still didn’t recognize the man but he didn't think anyone who looked That sinister could be a good guy. From the way that he was floating and context clues Jason could guess that this was a ghost. God Damn it! He only had one of his normal guns on him, he had put down the blaster! With the stranger's attention on Danny Jason scrambled for his gun.
“Vlad, what part of ‘stay the hell away from me’ don’t you understand?” Danny snarled.
Shit Vlad? Vlad masters the baby daddy? Jason felt a snarl rip its way out of his own throat, the pit swirling furiously inside him making him want to kill something. It wasn’t an unfamiliar feeling though it didn’t happen as often these days. At least Vlad only seemed to have eyes for Danny, he probably didn’t register Jason as a threat, or even a person of interest. It was a little unflattering but it gave Jason an opening to go for the blaster in his bag.
“I thought you said you would never allow a billionaire to adopt you, clearly something has changed. Come with me Daniel, I understand you infinitely better than Bruce Wayne,” He spat the name with contempt. “I can take care of you and-”
Jason got the gun and fired, his aim was true, the glowing green blast struck Vlad squarely in the stomach and he reared back with a pained yowl, red eyes snapping to Jason. He touched the wound in his stomach, dripping green blood, it wasn’t as deep as Jason would have liked and it was already healing fast, but Still, he’d done some damage and Vlad seemed furious.
“You insolent brat!” He growled, holding out hands that were glowing with energy. Jason tensed to dodge but before he could Danny was in front of him, a shield of green energy in front of him.
“ENOUGH!” Danny yelled, and changed form, shooting up into the sky he fired back at Vlad, rabidly throwing bolts of green energy at him. “I have had ENOUGH! You have drugged me, kidnapped me, threatened my friends, cloned me, and then killed the clones when they weren’t perfect.” Danny landed a hit, Vlad was unable to dodge or block so many in a row and he let out a grunt as Danny struck his chest, pushing him back a few feet.
Vlad tried to duplicate himself to shield himself but Danny shot them as quickly as they were made, making them disappear in puffs of smoke and screams. Once they were gone he focused again on Vlad. His eyes were glowing even brighter with frustration and rage as he directed both hands at his attacker and shot an even more powerful blast, landing a hit on Vlad that sent him trembling back, clutching a bloody and swollen nose.
“You are a pathetic, terrible, Lonely failure and you always will be! You will never get what you want! NEVER YOU HEAR ME?! YOu stay the hell away from me and my kids! MY kids! Or I will fucking kill you!” Danny swore, shooting at Vlad again, who barely managed a clumsy dodge.
“Come now Daniel you don’t mean that,” Vlad said but for the first time he sounded nervous. Danny had never lost his temper like this before, they’d fought, but he’d never even sworn.
They were distracted again and Jason had a clear shot, Vlad was clearly tough if he took a shot to these shots running but he couldn’t be indestructible. He shot again, aiming for the head this time, unfortunately the green glow gave him away and Vlad dropped down to avoid it. Vlad shot back, and Jason threw himself out of the way and rolled back up to his feet, ready to dodge, or fire again.
“No!” Danny shouted at Vlad, flying at him so fast he barely had time to throw up a shield of his own before Danny collided with him, forcing him back again. His hands pressed against the shield, glowing toxic green before the close range blast broke the shield and sent Vlad tumbling through the air. “I put up with you for the sake of my parents and my secret but now that doesn’t matter anymore I have no reason to go easy on you! I’m done! I’m done with you!”
And then he screamed, that same earth shattering wail, and with Vlad already knocked off balance, bleeding green from his chest, his nose, and generally beaten to hell, he had no defense. The sound forced him down with more than the force than gravity, the sound and impact leveled trees in a near perfect circle and left a crater in the soft earth at the bank of the lake. And Danny just kept screaming, pushing Vlad deeper into the wet earth. Jason could see that Vlad was screaming too, probably from the pain, but he couldn’t hear anything over the feeling of Danny’s wail.
Jason wanted to clamp his own hands over his ears and block out the sound but he couldn’t, he needed to keep hold of his blaster, and remain ready. The water rushed in and covered Vlad quickly once Danny stopped screaming. Jason bolted towards the edge of the new cove for Vlad to emerge.
He came up gasping and coughing, floundering before he grabbed the edge of the hole and dragged himself out. Jason was there to meet him with a gun to his head and a glowing green glare of his own. Jason wanted to shoot Vlad and kill him, but he didn’t want to do that in front of Danny. For all he had just said he would kill Vlad Jason didn’t think he really meant it. Danny wasn't a killer at heart.
“Stay very still,” He said calmly once Vlad had finished hacking up all the water he’d breathed in. He kept one hand on the gun and his finger on the trigger as he pulled a com out of his pocket, sliding it into his ear and turning it on. “O? Are you there?”
“Hood? Report?” Bruce’s clipped ‘batman’ voice came through.
“Vlad crashed the party, Track our location, I have him pinned,” Jason said without taking his eyes off Vlad who was still breathing hard and bleeding, glaring up at him.
“On our way,” Bruce said quickly. “ETA 18 minutes.”
“Very well done Todd,” Vlad drawled dryly and Jason twitched, of course since he’d been to Galas Vlad would know who he was, but Jason still did Not like it. “But you might want to look out, I believe young Daniel is in need of rescue.”
Jason knew better, he really did, but he couldn’t help glancing up quickly, and he was glad he did. He was just in time to see Danny revert to his human form and fall. Jason barely managed not to drop the gun as he ran to catch Danny, taking the brunt of the impact and going to his knees to keep them both intact through the landing.
“Danny?” He gasped, pushing the other man’s hair back from his face, his eyes were closed and he wasn’t responding to his name but he was breathing. Jason glanced over to see Vlad was already gone. “Shit. B, you still there?”
“Yes. What happened Jay?” He asked, sounding more worried, more like Bruce.
“Danny passed out,” Jason said as he set the other man down, grabbing a light and checking his pupils. “Pupils are responsive but he’s not waking up even with the light shining in his face. Vlad escaped but he couldn’t have gotten far in that condition. Danny really gave him hell.”
“We’ll be there soon,” Bruce said, clipped and determined. Jason could hear the motor in the background, if he was pushing the usually silent jet to the point it was making that sound he really would be there in minutes.
Jason sat down and pulled Danny nearly into his lap, still holding the gun just in case. He thought Vlad had made a break for it but he didn’t want to let his guard down. After all he had thought Vlad would be smarter then to attack them today, he had clearly underestimated the man’s obsessiveness and stupidity. The last thing he needed now was for Vlad to try and make a break for it with Danny while he was so vulnerable.
He was rocking just a little, he didn’t know if he was trying to sooth Danny or himself as he waited for Bruce and whichever of his siblings were tagging along to arrive. He thought that he was in shock judging by how vague he felt and the odd aura at the edges of his vision. It was always sort of funny having the vague knowledge that he Was in shock but not really being able to do anything about it.
He looked up when he heard the bat-plane overhead and watched it coming in for a water landing. Finally feeling safe enough to holster his gun, freeing both hands to scoop Danny into his arms, getting up with Danny still cradled close. It wasn’t like the other man was heavy, Jason stumbled just a little as he went over to meet his family as the ramp dropped and they came rushing out.
“Any idea what’s wrong with him?” Batman asked gruffly, going straight to them pushing a medical gurney.
“I think he just overused his powers,” Jason said numbly, putting Danny down on the rolling bed and followed Bruce back into the plane and the same time Spoiler, Blackbat, and Red Robin took off into the woods, to search for Vlad no doubt. Jason hoped they found him but somehow he doubted they would, Vlad could turn invisible and intangible after all, and Danny hadn’t had time to build them everything they’d need. Even with a decent amount of confiscated Fenton tech Jason didn’t like their odds.
“He has this sonic attack that's really strong but seems to take a lot out of him. He passed out pretty soon after using it the second time,” He explained, sitting down heavily next to the bed as Bruce fussed and checked Danny’s vitals.
“His heartbeat is slow but strong, pupils responding, like you said, he isn’t visibly injured. I think you’re right he over used it. We’ll set up an IV just to give him some energy and hydration and hopefully he’ll wake up soon. He’ll be okay Jay,” Bruce said, pausing to rest a hand on Jason’s shoulder. “I’ll take you back to the manor, I’m sure the others will find Vlad.”
“They’ve all got their wards?” Jason asked distractedly and Bruce nodded as he buckled Danny and the gurney in securely so he wouldn’t roll around during transport. “Good, ya, let's go home. I’m sorry, taking him camping was stupid. It was helping but I should have known that with Vlad still out there-”
“No, we didn’t see this coming, it’s not your fault,” Bruce interrupted, before sitting back in the pilot's seat and taking off.
Jason didn’t agree, but he didn’t argue either. No one had argued with him, he was sure they’d all thought, like he did, that with the entire justice league after him and the ‘woman of his dreams’ behind bars Vlad would have bigger things to worry about. They’d all underestimated just how obsessed with Danny Vlad was, in this family of obsessive assholes it was a particularly foolish mistake.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a person in possession of a good blorbo must be in want of art of that blorbo. And on this front, I have suffered because there is really no Háma art out there despite the fact that he’s rad. (I won’t bore you all again with all of the reasons why he’s the best, but you can find that here.) So I asked @rinthecap to draw me a lovely and handsome Háma, and they delivered in the best possible way!!! Here’s my guy, with a lot on his mind as he watches his king slowly lose his grip on reality, but always at the ready to jump into the fray and help.
Tumblr media
I love ALL of Rincap’s art, which you should definitely all go check out if you haven’t, and am extremely grateful for this beautiful and necessary contribution to a world that was severely lacking in Háma representation! ♥️♥️♥️ His face, his armor, his hair, it’s all aces!
And here, for good measure, is my Háma headcanon:
His father was the royal armorer in Edoras, and his mother worked alongside him; he did the metal work, and she handled leather. Little Háma grew up around their workshop, playing quietly in the back or listening to his mother tell stories while she stitched together vambraces or gloves. As he got older, he helped his parents with simple tasks, like linking rings for chainmail. When a mailcoat he worked on saved Théoden from a Dunlendish arrow and the king himself came by to thank young Háma, he nearly burst with pride. He knew right then that he wanted to dedicate his life to protecting the king and made it his goal to be captain of his guard someday.
Háma’s father was severely injured in a workshop accident not long after, and everyone marveled at how quickly he apparently recovered and was able to keep turning out work. What they didn’t know is that Háma’s mother took over most of the business, having learned metal crafting over the many years of work alongside her husband. They didn’t tell anyone who was actually making the pieces because they weren’t sure anyone would wear armor made entirely by a woman, but Háma knew, of course, and it filled him with both pride and frustration to hear people heap praise on his mother’s work while attributing it all to his father.
While he was working his way up through the ranks of the guards, Háma met and fell in love with Bryttalif, a midwife in Edoras. Brytta was herself pregnant and unmarried when they met, so she was viewed as a little scandalous. But they hit it off right away and he really didn’t care about town gossip or what other people had to say because she was just the sort of kind and gentle-hearted person that he was. The scandal was eventually forgotten because Háma and Brytta got married, which gave the whole situation a sheen of acceptability. He adopted her daughter Halwinë as his own and was absolutely crazy about her–Middle Earth’s truest Girl Dad. Brytta was pregnant with their second child when Háma was killed at Helm’s Deep. It was a boy she named Wilspell (“welcome news”).
Háma’s sword was recovered from outside the gate of the Hornburg after his death and was thereafter always used by the captain of the king’s guard, being transferred from person to person as part of a little ceremony whenever a new captain was appointed.
He was buried in armor his mother made.

Thinking of a lonely Sukuna who finds you entertaining…
Heien Era Sukuna x sorcerer!reader
Please refer to this if you are confused.
Sukuna’s cursed technique involves 2 types of slashes, cleeve and dismantle, and he can use them separately, or combine them.
Sukuna has mastered RTC, meaning he can heal himself, and others! (He healed megumi during the shibuya incident.)
Imbuing a weapon with cursed energy just means to enhance its overall strength.
He isn’t a possessive maniac who calls you “Woman.”
➽──────────────❥
Tumblr media
-ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ-
!RyomenSukuna who has been alive for longer than he can even care to remember.
!RyomenSukuna who is by no means a fool, and is not a force to be reckoned with. For he is, without a doubt, the king of all curses and curse users alike.
!RyomenSukuna who bears the burden of being infinitely strong, but lonely, and only has a mere servant by his side to keep him some form of company.
!RyomenSukuna who would often find himself aimlessly strolling through the charred remains of what was left of the once flourishing villages he’d burnt to smithereens.
!RyomenSukuna who was desperate for some form of entertainment, someone he could battle for at least a little while before they ultimately died. (Every lone sorcerer either tried to run from him, hide or wouldn’t even be able to get a single attack out. It was pathetic.)
!RyomenSukuna who felt your presence before he even saw you.
!RyomenSukuna who was rather displeased by how weak and pathetic you seemed, trying your absolute hardest to sneak around behind him by hiding yourself amidst the rubble and sut like he was some sort of sick joke.
!RyomenSukuna who scoffed before pausing in his walk to casually toss a cleeve back behind him, in your direction.
!RyomenSukuna who eagerly waited to hear the satisfying sound of your flesh hitting the ground, but when that never came, a menacing grin formed on his face.
!RyomenSukuna who tossed a few more cleeves your way, even tossing back a dismantle at one point, but still never heard the sound of your body getting split in half. He was sure you could handle him, right? After all, you survived the bud of his technique, so why not play with you a little?
!RyomenSukuna who spun around with haste to face you, and initially was a bit stunned at your utter beauty, having never seen anyone as ethereal as you before. However, he didn’t let his moment of awe phase him, and to the untrained eye, his bloodlust was the most apparent thing etched onto his inhumane features.
!RyomenSukuna who took his time sizing you up, his eyes widening as he felt your cursed energy suddenly surge. His smile increased ten fold when he realized you were actually stronger than you’d originally let on. He was going to have fun ripping you apart.
!RyomenSukuna who engaged in a ruthless battle with you, learning different things about you as you gave it your all against him. He noticed that you seemed to have some sort of limit on your cursed energy, and that quite literally was your downfall.
!RyomenSukuna who stalled, and blocked your attacks for as long as he could, halfassing you in the worst way possible.
!RyomenSukuna who eventually, just as he’d previously predicted, could feel your cursed energy start to dwindle, and he knew you were reaching that point where you’d be rendered powerless in a matter of seconds. He was curious to see what you’d do.
!RyomenSukuna who watched as you put some distance in between the both of you, before using RTC (reverse cursed technique), and pulling out some sort of interestingly shaped katana. He didn’t bother attacking you, far too interested in watching how you split your remaining cursed energy into healing yourself, and imbuing whatever was left over into your weapon.
!RyomenSukuna who had a smile of pure elation as he watched you charge at him, faster than the speed of light. He was absolutely livid.
!RyomenSukuna who thought that you were fast, but he was faster. Unfortunately, with the absence of your cursed energy, your basic movements had become repetitive, and without a moments notice, he ripped you clean out of the air, and slammed you down into the ground with so much force, a crater formed.
!RyomenSukuna whose initial feeling of elation faltered a bit when he didn’t see you moving. He took a step back, readying himself for another go at it, and hoping that you’d get back up. Hoping and maybe even wishing that this fight wasn’t over just yet.
!RyomenSukuna whose eyes widened as you surprised him yet again. He watched on in glee as you shakily pulled yourself to your feet, before raising your katana at him and glaring down your sword. The unwavering look of determination in your eyes is what set him off.
!RyomenSukuna who felt his non functional heart beat for the first time, in a long time. His sadistic grin returned to his face, and this time he charged at you first.
!RyomenSukuna who easily knocked you off your feet time and time again, and watched with awe as you kept on getting up, each and every time. He admired your determination, but one misdirected cleeve was all it took to render you immobile.
!RyomenSukuna who normally would’ve scoffed and walked away, found himself briskly walking over to your limp form in what one would call a rather “worried manner”. To him, he just simply wanted to know if you were still alive.
!RyomenSukuna who healed you himself, and, with about as much care a monster like him could muster, lifted you up into his lower arms.
!RyomenSukuna who ended up taking you back to his home, where he was the one to watch over you to make sure you recovered just fine.
!RyomenSukuna who was there to see those gorgeous eyes of yours flutter open, and bear the softest gaze anyone has ever shown him.
!RyomenSukuna who lost his train of thought the moment you started to sit up, and adjust yourself in the soft mattress he’d so kindly placed you on.
!RyomenSukuna who was taken aback at how polite and respectful you were towards him, despite the fact he’d almost killed you. (He seemed to forget that he was also the who saved your life???)
!RyomenSukuna who actually took a liking to you, even though you were in no way close to him in strength, nor did you share the mindset.
!RyomenSukuna who didn’t find himself becoming bored or annoyed the more you told him about your past and upbringing. In fact, he was always subtly nodding along, taking in your every word.
!RyomenSukuna who actually listened to you, and didn’t space out like he normally did whenever someone or something was talking to him. Whenever you seemed to get angry or frustrated at a certain topic, he would get frustrated too. Whenever you’d be happy about something, he’d let a little smirk find its way onto his lips. (It was almost like he mirrored your reactions.)
!RyomenSukuna who began to doubt his initial reason for bringing you back to his home, as the weeks went on. He ends up letting you stay anyway, because you technically did still serve a purpose to him. You were his form of entertainment.
!RyomenSukuna who never really spoke much around you. Usually opting to silently observe you while you trained, or just listen to you as you talked enough for the both of you. Besides, he figured he never really had anything interesting to say anyways. (His voice would only be heard when explaining anything dealing with jujitsu. Other than that, he was as silent as a ghost. The most you’d get from him were the head nods, and soft grunts to show his approval.)
!RyomenSukuna who found himself feeling a bit strange when you told him one night over dinner that you would be leaving soon, and that there was someone out there you wanted to get revenge on for wronging your family.
!RyomenSukuna who spoke up for the first time since he’d brought you back to his home to actually protest against you going out alone. He even volunteered to do the deed for you, to rid your hands of any blood, but you insisted, and he didn’t have it in him to fight you. He could never deny you of what you wanted.
!RyomenSukuna whose face remained neutral, as you waved goodbye to him, before setting off on your journey.
!RyomenSukuna who would never admit, even to himself, that he enjoyed your company, even if it had only been a few weeks.
!RyomenSukuna whose boredom quickly returned, and within a few days, he was back to his daily walks around the ruined village.
!RyomenSukuna who never really took the time to think about just how much your presence really affected him. Nowadays, he was easily agitated, and just as quick to blow a fuse at some of the most trivial things. He wasn’t his normal calm, and collected self, and it bothered him. It bothered him that you weren’t there with him anymore.
!RyomenSukuna who, deep down, feared that you would never return, and that he’d never get to hear your voice again, sweetly chirping away at whatever memories that came to mind. Giving him endless entertainment, something that he found himself desperately craving now.
!RyomenSukuna who never really dwelled in pointless things such as feelings. However, there were times when his restless mind would wonder about you, and if you were okay.
!RyomenSukuna who realized that he was at his calmest and most peaceful state whenever you were situated in his presence.
!RyomenSukuna who found that he just couldn’t fall asleep one night, and opted to take a midnight stroll through the forest to get some fresh air, to maybe even cleanse his mind of the slight worry he was feeling.
!RyomenSukuna who thought his mind was playing tricks on him when he could’ve sworn he saw your smaller form limping towards him from the treeline. After all, he was going on his 8th night of no proper sleep.
!RyomenSukuna who felt a part of him return when he realized that it was in fact you. He let you come to him, and due to the moonlight, he was able to see the horrific state you were in.
!RyomenSukuna who immediately healed you with a gentle touch, before ushering you into a warm embrace. It was the first time he’d ever done something of the sorts, and to be honest he didn’t hate it. He was just glad that you came back.
Glad that you came back to him.

BSD: An Absurdist Analysis - Ch. 114.5
Fyodor: The Unkillable Devil
[BSD Absurdism Masterpost]
So, I was mostly correct in my speculations from last month's chapter! I'm really proud of this, though I will admit that my theory wasn't a complete match to what ended up happening
I assumed that Fyodor took on the guard's lifeforce, but it was Bram who he body-swapped with, which makes for a much for interesting (and higher stakes) situation.
Tumblr media
Admittedly, this post is going to be a bit less analysis and more me sharing my thoughts and questions, because not much has changed from what I said last month: Fyodor being practically unkillable is the ultimate absurdity for him as a villain -- how do you defeat a literally immortal super genius?
It's just made even worse now by the fact that it is Bram's body who he's "subsuming." It puts considerable distance between himself (now in Japan) and Dazai (in France), who is the only human being capable of killing him due to his nullification. This is deeply ironic in that Dazai was so goddamn close to killing Fyodor, if only he had delivered the final blow himself, he would have succeeded. That's dramatic irony for ya!
Tumblr media
The ultimate absurdity lies within the fact that Dazai was so close to victory the entire time; Fyodor was in genuine danger throughout the whole prison break thing (because either poison or Dazai could have actually killed him), but one lapse in judgement has now left Dazai relatively powerless.
There is also absurdity in the fact that Fukuawa, Fukuchi, Aya, and Teruko are basically incapable of stopping Fyodor not only from subsuming Bram's body, but from carrying out his plan with the tripolar singularity. They don't even have enough time to enact a last-ditch effort to stop him before he stabs Fukuchi.
Tumblr media
Jumping back to the reveal of Fyodor's ability, this chapter has left me with some questions about Fyodor's plan:
Why allow Sigma to learn of this? I see no really good reason for why Fyodor didn't kill Sigma when given the chance. The only thing I can think of is that he wanted to distract Dazai, ultimately knowing that he would eventually go back for Sigma and try to figure out why he was passed out, killing some time. Still, this doesn't really make much sense to me, as killing Sigma would have done practically the same thing. Also, at that point, there's really no reason to distract Dazai, the deed has already been done. My only other idea is that he figured that once he was able to subsume Bram, it wouldn't matter if Dazai knew about his ability, so he allowed Sigma to obtain this information in order to let Dazai know of his loss. Still, this doesn't make any strategic sense in the way that keeping Dazai in the dark for as long as possible appears to be the optimal course of action.
Does Nikolai know about Fyodor's ability? If so, it would explain the usage of the poison in the prison break challenge, given that his ultimate goal is to kill Fyodor. It might also explain why he considers them to be "besties," because he's one of very few people who know the true nature of Fyodor's ability. This is complete speculation, though, as it could really go either way.
Did Fyodor know Chuuya was faking it the whole time? Because if not, I think Chuuya was his fallback plan. If he truly believed Chuuya to be a vampire controlled by Bram, then at any point he could have ordered him to kill him, but I think the only thing that stopped him from doing so was his desperation to have Dazai killed as the only person capable of actually taking his life. If he did indeed know Chuuya was just acting, though, I wonder if he had just thought far enough ahead to know how things would go and needed Chuuya to be present to get to that conclusion. I'm really curious as to how much of this plan was actual foresight and how much was improvisation.
As for the tripolar singularity... well I think we know where that leads, given that the anime gave us a little preview to future events.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll admit that the concept of the singularity is one of the things I least understand about the BSD lore/universe, but this certainly raises the stakes. I might be wrong about this, but aren't there theories that somehow Akutagawa and Atsushi's abilities combined are able to supersede singularities? In this way, they'd be the only hope against Tripolar Singularity Fukuchi (which I've got to assume works much like Arahabaki in that Fukuchi is not in control anymore).
We also now can now assume that Akutagawa (and assumedly anyone else who was turned into a vampire) becomes un-vampirified because Bram ceases to exist when Fyodor takes on his body, so this explains how we get to the above situation.
That's all I got for now! Please feel free to add to my analysis and discuss the questions I've asked, I love talking about this stuff with y'all! :)
Edit: Ok so of course almost immediately upon posting this I thought of more things to add in terms of how this all relates to absurdism. The concept of Fyodor being unable to die is not only absurd from the storytelling perspective of him being BSD's ultimate villain for so long, but also on a personal level for himself.
One of humanity's defining qualities is mortality -- the idea that we all die eventually, whether we like it or not. For Fyodor, this isn't true, though. His ability is a curse that traps him into living so long as people try to kill him. This further explains his ultimate motive of wanting to eliminate all abilities, probably because he recognizes many abilities to be curses and also that abilities have potential to be abused by those in power, whether for "right" or "wrong" reasons.
The irony in this is that Fyodor is doing just that, he has used his ability to remain alive far longer than he should have, and is thus able to carry out his plans. Yes, he believes what he is doing is for the good of humanity, but as the reader, we also know that this is not his decision to make. He has become the very thing he's trying to fight! This can be seen as Fyodor giving into the absurdity of reality, rather than actually rebelling against it, which makes him the antagonist to our absurdist protagonists, who refuse to give in and continue to push back against life's absurdities.
Fyodor's problem (and I think I talked about this in the chapter where he "died") is that he wants to control the absurd reality, but that is just not possible. You can't control meaninglessness, all you can do is not become a part of it, which Fyodor fails to do in his effort to not do so. It's a complete paradox.
Hopefully what I'm saying here makes sense, I am currently running on like five hours of sleep (which not a lot for me) and black tea lol

random henry head cannons that i need to get off my chest because henry’s always on my mind and im going crazy
also these might be all over the place so
not only is henry like, extremely bad at seeing without his glasses, but he’s also colorblind.
he looked super young up until he was like 35. people would always assume that charlie and sammy were his siblings, and would judge him when he said they were his kids. this is part of the reason he grew a beard, so that he could start looking older. once he hit 35 though, bro started looking waaaaay older then he was
hes a huuuuuge animal person. like bears specifically. but he loves all animals. it’s very hard to say no to his children when they see a cat or bunny and they ask to keep it. how is he supposed to say no?
he was religious growing up, and even went to church after leaving his parents house. in fact; he became incredibly devoted and religious when he realized he was starting to get feelings for will in college. he wanted these feelings to go away. because roommates should be able to go around shirtless without the other one having bad thoughts about them. it wasn’t until the first time he slept with william that he stopped going to church.

he doesn’t get along great with his parents now. he only ever sees them around christmas, and he’s never really let sammy or charlie see them.
he has high functioning autism. like. he hyper fixates. he doesn’t really understand social cues. but since he grew up undiagnosed, he was able to eventually catch on, and learned how to be better. he’s good at talking to people now, in fact, most people don’t even assume, since he does come off as outgoing, but he is still anti social.

May I request a Yandere Vector The Crocodile Concept From Sonic please? Romantic/Platonic? I don’t see enough of this guy, he’s so underrated.
He is very underrated, so I will try my best to write down some thoughts on him.
Yandere! Vector The Crocodile Concept
Pairing: Romantic/Platonic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Stalking, Jealousy, Manipulation, Clingy behavior, Delusional behavior, Slight violence, Breach of privacy, Kidnapping, Blood mention, Dubious companionship/relationship.
Tumblr media
Vector is described as easy going yet loud mouthed.
He's a detective who takes his job seriously and loves money and music.
He's a true leader who can sometimes be bossy despite his easy going nature.
He keeps a cool head in stressful situations and is quite tough.
He has a temper problem and can come off as aggressive but will try to be gentle.
Ironically he's a "snappy" crocodile.
He has a kind heart and while being slightly selfish, cares for his friends and tries to keep strong morals.
He never wants to do anything dirty or illegal and says cool + determined.
He's a bit volatile but overall I'd imagine he'd be goofy.
He seems like he'd be easily jealous but try to hide it from you... and fail miserably.
Due to his moral compass, he'd have second thoughts about the idea of kidnapping or murder.
In fact, that just doesn't seem like something he'd do.
He'd do things that he tries to convince himself are legal.
Such as stalking or slight manipulation/isolation.
He's just... following you very close or looking out for you... not stalking.
He's just trying to encourage you to make the right decision... not manipulating you.
He definitely starts small, but he's delusional.
Jealousy is normal, right?
Vector just... wants to feel included.
It's harmless... It's not his fault if he picks fights with your friends, right?
He is so deep in delusion when it comes to you.
He thinks you two are closer than you actually are, often using his skills to research about you.
He's a detective after all, following clues to gain info is what he's good at.
Your friends will note that it sounds like he's interrogating them, when he asks about you.
Vector definitely writes down all he learns about you in a locked journal or something.
One he gets quite defensive of.
Vector probably often gets himself into fights often with others, although he feels horrible when you catch him.
He's clingy and delusional, trying to rationalize all he does for your attention.
I know I said he wouldn't kidnap or murder... but with his delusions?
I mean... surely he'd try to make excuses?
It's not kidnapping... he's just taking you to a safer place.
It's not a fight... he's defending you.
It wasn't murder... It's just an accident.
He'll tell himself this even if you cry or he's covered in blood.
For the most part he's harmless if kept in check.
He's incredibly affectionate, always giving big hugs and inviting you to listen to music with him.
If he does manage to get into fights, he can be ruthless.
After all.. he's a crocodile.
If you've seen how crocs fight, you'll know what I'm talking about.
He may try to hide his darker feelings and jealousy from you.
He wants you to be his alone yet tries his best to hide it.
Perhaps part of him does know it isn't right to feel this way.
But eventually you'll find out...
Eventually you'll run and he won't be able to handle it...
Meaning Vector will have to chase you to get you back to him... even if it requires a bit of force.

I like how the show Young Royals has the forbidden love relationship be the straight relationship. How that relationship is forbidden is because of the amount of abandonment of Sara's loved ones and herself that that love would entail.
Sara could decide to keep being August's emotional support because she genuinely cared about him, and he would eventually learn to understand her needs and who she is and give her the same support. But at what cost?
Sara did not see what she did to Simon as a betrayal for ages because the damage had been done already. But when August didn't go to the police, she realised that he had deceived her with the knowledge she gave him about Simon to once again target her brother. He made her complicit in Simon's betrayal, and he didn't think what that would do to her.
She didn't realise until the gun scene how treacherous she had been to Simon and for how long. She had put her feelings for August above her feelings for her brother, who she felt had been disloyal to her by rekindling a relationship with their dad. Then she begins the relationship with August as a form of blackmail to keep her from telling Simon so she can get a place in the school.
Their relationship's existence was bad for their integrity and began with manipulation. When August tells her that she's just like him and she knows what needs to be done to reach your dreams, he is telling her that you know how to step on other people to get what you want. This is how he sees what she's done, and she's starting to see that that is what she's done with her blind ambition. That's not who she wants to be. She just wants to belong, have friends, ride horses, and be independent and not a burden on anyone. (She then goes on to find self-love, friendship love, and familial love that is wholesome. She even forgives Micke and accepts him for who he is fully).
Young Royals doesn't reward this forbidden love with a happy ending. The homosexual love has the happy ending because THIS is the wholesome relationship.
Though Wilmon have problems in their communication, ultimately, they both care about each other's happiness and wellbeing. Simon loves Wille for the person he is, not the superfici role assigned to him. He loves him for his kindness and consideration and for really seeing Simon for who he is and valuing him in return. Wille loves Simon for who he is as his equal. He loves his integrity and his sense of self, even in elite spaces that see him as lesser than. Wille loves Simon's individualism, and he is learning to love that trait in himself as well. Wille has always just been someone's brother, someone's son, a country's Crown Prince. He is never valued for himself until he meets Simon.
(Also, edited to add, they love each other enough to let each other go. Simon sees his presence in Wille's life as putting pressure on his role as Crown Prince. He breaks up with him for his own self-love and boundaries but also because he wants Wille to figure out what he wants on his own without Simon muddying the waters. He wants Wille to make choices for his now sake. Not his mother's or Simon's. He makes the same decision of self-love and need for Wille's self-determination at the end of Season 1. Wille tells Simon how he doesn't want to hurt him but he realises that he is clumsy at times in how he comes across. He is letting Simon go because he respects Simon's boundaries even though it is hurting him to not fight and keep the relationship going. He realises he has to sort out his own problems. And he is eventually brave enough, after listening to Wille's Song, to choose self-love and tell his mother what he needs.)
The fact that the creators of this show had to fight to show Wilmon's love fully to the audience, tells me that this show was a revolution in how it shows what is forbidden love and what isn't. (Netflix didn't want the sex between the two teenage boys shown and Lisa had to explain that if the show had straight sex in the previous season, they had to equally allow lgbtq sex). Wilmon's love making is such important communication between the characters and between the audience and the characters. What we see, when we see it is important for the publically perceived couple in-universe but also to our society that sees so little wholesome homosexual love in teenagers on our screens. It shouldn't be a revolution to love another or yourself is one of the messages of the show.
I wonder what other ways Lisa and Rojda had to fight with Netflix to tell the story the way they did and how much compromise they had to make. I remember them nearly cutting the discussion about the Kris book in season 2. If they had more creative control, I wonder how much more story we would have got. Definitely more episodes, even if the story was told in three parts. Probably, if they were told they could have three seasons at the start, Lisa could have spread the plot points more evenly over the three seasons. Perhaps episode 6 could have been spread over 2 episodes.
Anyway, my rambly thoughts about some of the meta storytelling in Young Royals.

To be a man in your eyes
Fem reader x Ace Trappola
Tw: Age gaps (reader is seven years older), light yandere behavior, implied non-con
1.2k words
Ace could remember many moments in his life with you in it. It was actually harder to remember moments without you.
From the moment Ace had been born, you had been there. His brother's best friend.
You had seen him in diapers, learning how to crawl, how to speak.
As he grew slightly older he used to go into his brother's room and demand he play with him. His brother would roll his eyes and tell him to go away, but you’d smile at him and grab the small plastic figure of his hand, ready to entertain his childish whims.
Eventually he started doing it on purpose. Going into his brother's room when he knew you were there, and demanding you play with him.
He also started stealing the stuff you’d bring over. Hair ties, hair clips, jackets.
You were always sweet and calm in return, indulging him and appeasing his brother, saying “Oh, he’s just a kid.”
At the time it felt great, to have your eyes on him instead of his annoying brother, but it quickly turned sour.
He’d huff and puff at you, saying “I’m not a kid! I’m nine years old! Almost a teenager, Nee-san!”
“You’ll be in a few years. But, for now, you’re still a kid.”
And you’d smile, that sweet motherly smile of yours you reserved for him.
But he didn’t want that smile. He wanted the one you gave his brother, a smile meant for someone of equal standing, an almost adult like yourself.
When his brother went to NRC, he thought he’d have you all for himself. No more pesky older brother to try to take you away. But you stopped showing up as much to his house. You still came by from time to time, but it was much less than before.
The few times you came, you played with him, but it wasn’t the same. You always longingly stared at his brother's bedroom door, as if waiting for it to open and for him to come out.
It infuriated him.
Why couldn’t you pay attention to him?!
“Nee-sannnnnn! Stop staring at stupid Nii’s room!”
“Sorry, Ace. Got a little distracted there. Where were we?”
You’d keep playing as usual, but he still felt furious. He started stealing more of your things in retaliation, and keeping them in his room. One day, he stole a half used lipstick. It was dark red, and the packaging made it look really fancy. It had been on your lips.
He put it on his lips and tasted it. Was this how your lips tasted?
He stashed the lipstick on his bottom drawer.
His brother returned later that year, now a full on graduate and with a job prospect on the line.
The first thing you did was hug him with all your might, and he returned fully, embracing you tightly.
Ace ran towards you both, grabbing a fistful of his brother's shirt.
“Stupid Nii. You’re suffocating Nee-San!”
You laughed and ruffled his hair, saying you were okay.
You really didn’t see him as more than a kid.
But he wouldn’t be a kid much longer. He was becoming a teen soon enough.
But disaster struck.
“I have this really great job opportunity!” You excitedly shared with his brother and him your plans. Your plans of moving away.
This was so unfair. He was so close to being a teenager. To be old enough for you to not see him as a kid. And now you were going to move away? You really were cruel.
His brother was really happy. Of course he was. You were going to be near his stupid Nii-san and not him.
You smiled at him. He ignored it and left the room.
You left, but just like his brother, kept contact.
At least tried to. During the first months he’d ignore your calls, sending you a quick text about how he was so busy, and having so much fun. But the feelings of longing grew stronger.
You’d send him texts, call him, even write him letters.
He couldn’t help but crack, the collection of your many knickknacks not enough to keep him satiated.
After that he tried talking to you everyday, even if it was just through a small text message.
Visits were difficult. Your job required you to work the time he was on holiday, so the only way to see each other was through photos.
You’d sent him some, and the others he’d find from stalking the social media of all your friends.
You looked radiant. And that drove him mad. You were so happy around all these people who weren’t him. You should only smile around him. You should only be his.
Is this because you only saw him as a kid? He couldn’t accept that. You’d have to see him as a man once you saw him face to face.
During the holidays of his third year at NRC, you came back to visit.
You didn’t look much older than the last time he had seen you five years ago, but he had changed immensely. He had the face of a man, and he was now taller than you.
Surely you’d see how much he had grown and stop the childish treatment.
And yet, when you saw him, you still gave him that motherly smile and pat on his head, and he was back to being 9 years old and throwing tantrums for your attention.
Couldn’t you see it? How much of a man he was? He was finishing his studies. He could provide for you. You didn’t need anyone else. He would just have to prove it to you.
“Hey, ___. Can ya come real quick with me to my room? So we can chat one on one like good old times.”
You eagerly accepted, so used to his house that you went in front of him.
You sat on his bed as he locked the door without you noticing.
“Ya know,___, I had a girlfriend when I was in middle school.”
You hummed in recognition.
“But she was so boring. I never even liked her. I never really liked any girl for that matter.”
“You don’t need to worry about that. You’re still young. You have plenty of time to figure it out.”
He sat by your side.
“I already figured it out. There’s one exception.”
He leaned closer to you, and you instinctively leaned back a little, a slight uncomfortable look in your eyes.
“An exception?”
“Yeah. A girl who is so dense, so stupid, that always preferred someone else. Do ya know any girls like that, Nee-Chan?”
He hadn’t called you that since he was 13, trying to distance himself from his former child self.
You looked like you were about to bolt out of the room, arms crossed.
He kept creeping closer to you on the bed and you kept leaning back, until you slipped and hit your back on the mattress.
He grabbed his pen from his pocket, and with a swift gesture your wrists were tied together.
Your eyes widened in horror, the rope becoming tighter as you tried wiggling out of it, a scream stuck in your throat, the shock of it all keeping you from truly screaming.
He smirked at your defenseless position.
His parents had left for the night. You were both truly alone.
After tonight, you wouldn’t see him as a kid anymore.

OP Men and Their Kids
Note: Hey, this is something I wrote randomly one day instead of paper I needed to work on. :) Don't worry, the paper was finished and turned in. I will also fully admit I have baby fever at this point in my life, I just gotta get a man lol. These are just some headcanon blurbs about a couple OP men and their kids, how many they'd have, the genders, that's all! Hope you like it!
~~
Ace has a daughter, then another three years later. He's happy with just those two, he's a great girl dad and his oldest keeps his last name even if she gets married; he cries when his babies get married. If you can convince him to have one more, it'd be a third girl, you wouldn't even complain about it. Ace would cry again, holding her after she's born and happily introducing her to her big sisters. He sees himself, Sabo, and Luffy in the dynamics between his daughters. Your youngest daughter might be a crybaby, but she's the more adventurous of the three and her sisters are her biggest protectors. You're all his girls and Ace couldn't be happier.
~~
Law has a son first, then five or six years later a daughter, both fully planned and prepared for. Then surprise, there's another little boy two years after your daughter, totally unplanned but welcomed all the same. All three are beyond loved, the daughter is definitely named Cora. Your daughter might be a little bit spoiled, but Law tries to even it out amongst the three, that pirate captain side of him coming out as he tries to make sure they're all even. On nights when the five of you settle in your living room, Law still can't believe how lucky and blessed he is to have such a loving family again.
~~
Penguin has two daughters within four years of each other! Girl dad all the way, until the third child comes along and it's a boy, a total surprise, he'd fully expect another little girl. He finds it even more fun to have all three of them, the girls are protective of their baby brother, it almost reminds him of he and Shachi with Law when they were still teens. It's even more apparent how your children parallel that relationship, when your youngest daughter, at six years old, brings your two year old son to you when he's crying from a nightmare, you're both able to comfort and quell his tears. Penguin feels lucky to have all of you, and wants nothing more than for you to all be safe and happy.
~~
Sanji! Has a son AND daughter first, a cute little set of twins! He dotes on them and gives them all the attention they need. Eventually another little girl comes along, then one more boy a couple years after her. Sanji loves them all, but his girls do get just a tad more attention at times, especially once they realize that giving him puppy dog eyes net them whatever they want. Your youngest son attaches to him like glue, wanting to be with Sanji all the time, and he can see the similarities in how alike the two are, minus the abuse of course, and it makes him want to protect your youngest son from the world at times.
~~
Zoro has a son, one that isn't planned at all. He hadn't even expected to have kids until this little baby boy that looks just like him comes along. After that, he expects that to be it. No more kids, just the one, just your son, until not even three years later you're pregnant again, with a little girl that's just as unplanned. Everyone is shocked, but when she's born, Zoro is instantly wrapped around her tiny finger and she's spoiled rotten by him. Your kids are both loved beyond belief though, both learning how to use a sword as soon as they're big enough to do so. Zoro is the one to convince you to have one more when your daughter is about five, and its a set of twin boys that make you swear off more kids in the end. They also start learning to use the sword one day, your third child falling into the three sword style that just inflates Zoro's pride even more. And yes, his daughter would be named Kuina.
~~
Note 2: I would absolutely marry Zoro and have his babies in a heartbeat. I'm sorry Penguin, I still love you.
Note 3: If you saw this briefly yesterday, no you didn't shut up 😆

Jean is Neil if Neil had stayed at Edgar Allen. Jean has the rage and defiance Neil wantanly displays, it's just buried deep where Riko couldn't find it. He fought when he started as a Raven, fought with all his might against Riko and his demands and all of it. But at six-fucking-teen what else could he do but submit in the end. He's a kid brought up by abusive parents who transferred him to another abuser. When you've lived your life that way you don't know anything different. You don't know there's another way, a better way. You don't know you're allowed to take up the space you choose for yourself. So you just believe what everyone says about you, because if they think it the it must be true.
But when Neil was there Jean helped him fight, helped him keep getting back up, helped him do what Jean couldn't. Helped him stand up again and again. It showed that Jean's will to survive was still there, that his defiance and strength and rage was still there.
Jean's anger and temper is going to get worse before it gets better. He'll take it out on Jeremy, on Leila and Cat and anyone else in range. All this rage he's supressed his whole life will come bubbling up to the surface as he lets his walls down. The only way he knows how to handle emotions is putting them away, as he learns that he doesn't have to do that, that it's ok to let them out and be angry, he'll start small and then the few things he let's by will open the gates for the rest of it. And he's grown up around anger and violence, so it's the only way he knows how to express feelings. He's going to hurt people. But he'll apologise. He'll go to them and make amends, and maybe at first it will be out of fear, ('contriton, coach') but eventually it'll be because he knows what it means to hurt his friends. He might even lose them for a bit of time, and if that happens he'll hate himself and think he deserves to be alone and that he doesn't deserve friends or good things and those reasons to stay alive might dwindled. But he'll be healing. And I believe no matter what Jean does or says, Jeremy will let it happen and he won't abandon him. Jeremy won't lose hope. I think Jeremy knows more about trauma and suppressed rage than he's letting on. I think he'll see that in Jean and give him leeway to be kind of a prick. Because Jeremy will know that it's a sign Jean is healing. Is allowing himself to feel emotions again.

origins.
Kirjo Riemu ( taken from another word for Sa.mpo "Kirjokansi", which kirjo on its own refers to a spectrum of colors/colorful & riemu which means joy or elation in finnish ) had a normal childhood for a brief while, an only child that was rather sociable, funny. The type that appreciated attention and would even make a fool of himself to have laughter directed his way. Though, keeping any friends was difficult, especially when any semblance of family was stripped from him early. Problematic orphan seeing as a source of happiness had been lost. He grew up looking out for himself, only counting on himself. If he wasn't dependable by his own terms, then he would've surely met an early demise or lived a rather boring and sad life. Faking a need for attention ( though there's some truth to be had there, ) stealing, running small scams from those that would likely believe a poor child, were his early ways to be able to treat himself to decent meals and new clothes or gadgets.
In his teens, he grew taller, was putting on some muscle and could hold his own in fisticuffs when it sometimes came down to a scuffle. He really didn't enjoy it, much better to be the audience of a brawl rather than risk getting your lights punched out. Kirjo prided himself on being quick on his feet, nimble. Some call it cowardly, but he was thinking of ways to catch his opponents off-guard when the chance arose. Someone match stronger than him would obviously win out, therefore he had to use what he could to his advantage. Getting into trouble with the wrong crowd would eventually draw eyes that thought him better on a metaphorical leash while utilizing the growing teen as near fodder. Proper training to turn quick steps into deadly ones, deft hands learning to wield knives, lithe fingers picking locks, pockets, and the like. Up through this period, he simply did jobs for a cut. Nothing too life threatening, though he was sure if caught it wouldn't have been too pretty. It's when a year or two passed by that he was tasked with things that did not settle too well.
Killing someone whether or not they deserve it is certainly a moral dilemma. But good or bad didn't matter, the pay was good. Kirjo had grown used to eating better, having time to himself, and at a certain point, his stealing only fed this avarice he started developing. Killing was somewhat of a distraction for the need to continuously feel notes between his fingers. That didn't really quite do it for his conscience, however. He still needed some sort of distraction there, a detachment from the negative feelings. And at first that's all it really was, pretending not to feel to the point that he was convinced he didn't. All his pretty crime previous to this helped perhaps. Oh, but he became rather serious, he didn't like who he was looking at in the mirror in his day to day. Forced smiles for himself, finding that exhilaration and thrill he gets from pilfering in his jobs that used to make him feel sick to his stomach. Wear a mask and become an actor just for yourself and you'll be sure to have a great time every time, guaranteed.
He lost his sense of self in the process, it becoming something more twisted and volatile. Taking a hit made him laugh, landing a hit made him laugh, crying and pleading for forgiveness only reserved to play up an act. Aeon came first, blessing the confused young lad to be an Emanator of the Elation. Here's some power, what type of power ? That's for Kirjo to discover. This did not grant him money nor riches. What had been certain is that he always felt watched, an audience always there, a need to hope that those eyes got a kick out of the act. At least it's something to work towards. And so, a hooded figure set out, finding out how far he could potentially go. Nothing ever came of it, not really. Even in one of his last jobs that he took up, requiring him to go after supposedly imbued special artifacts granted him nothing to draw on. Though, what did occur at that time was incessant yet infectious laughter. Odd pieces of armor that don't quite go with his preferred manner of dress.
Donning the name Sa.mpo Ko.ski came with his acceptance to the Tavern. The first name was engraved where he'd come across those relics he wore. He's not entirely sure of what it means, though it seems unique enough to cut him from any previous ties to crime if a Ma.sked Fo.ol decided to prey on that. The surname is simply a word he recalls from his upbringing. Nothing more but a small memory. He doesn't remember much.
The mask he receives feels like a mockery, since Aha supposedly has a hand in the whole process seeing as they value the revelry of the Tavern. His mask seems plain, something he doesn't want to have to use to cover up his looks which have helped him with odd jobs here and there. One upside is that it at least functions as a catalyst if the Laughter won't bother to explain the extent of his function as an Emanator or just what power resides within.

something I’ve been thinking abt is how many people think Makoto is immune to despair. I don’t think he is. I think becoming the ultimate Hope was BECAUSE he felt despair. He wouldn’t have fully reached that point without Junko. Makoto becoming such a beacon was his last attempt to avoid completely falling and it wasn’t because he didn’t feel despair, it was because he was too damn stubborn to allow everything to go to waste and he refused to sacrifice his beliefs for someone else’s. His inner monologue tells me he DID experience the same new low the other suvivors did in the final trial, but at the point where he had the choice to give up and die, he looked at the others and he looked at Junko and he couldn’t allow it to happen, not out of self preservation, but because the idea that Junko would have control over their lives made him FURIOUS. and that utter refusal to die kicked in, wether luck or otherwise, and he made the concious effort for one last push while something in him was breaking. He had to be broken in order for the Ultimate Hope to come through so aggressively, bc it could only exist in the face of the Ultimate Despair. He snapped the same way she did, but in the other direction. In what could have been his final moments he chose to embody everything Junko wasn’t, and every single optimistic and luck fueled ideal in him suddenly charged forward and pushed him. It was a combination of the final straw and a choice. Makoto isn’t immune to feeling despair, he’s just too stubborn to fall into it of his own volition. I think that’s why I like that scene in DR3 so much. People were SO SHOCKED Makoto actually fell for the tape, that he actually became despair for a moment. I saw people getting mad or disappointed, saying it was pathetic and Makoto seemed to fall from some sort of pedestal for them. Honestly part of me wonders if that sort of mentality, which clearly people had in universe, affected Makoto a bit. Like he started to see himself as less of a person, subconsciously. Prompting him to take more risks, less self preservation, act way more bold. It seems he has to be reminded a lot not to put himself in danger by his friends, to not do something too reckless. All over the place I would see in regards to that scene either this frivolous ‘oh this was just angst drama with no meaning behind it’ or ‘he can do better than that. he’s so weak’ or ‘come on, there’s no way he’d fall into despair, he’s the Ultimate Hope!’ This kind of mentality, which was kind of ironic considering Ryota was there the entire time saying the same thing and treating Makoto the same way. Like Makoto was superhuman. Like Makoto didn’t feel despair the same way ‘normal people’ did. In a way that was also how Munakata saw Makoto. Makoto stopped being a PERSON to the world when he became Ultimate Hope, he became a concept, a belief system, much the same way Junko ascended beyond herself. But the difference is that treating Makoto that way is the opposite of the reason Makoto became such a representative for hope. He wasn’t doing something no one else could. He was doing something everyone had the chance to, he just… was a little more optimistic, a little more stubborn, a little more ‘gung-ho’ about things. He just took the lead where no one else did, where no one else knew they even COULD in the face of Junko’s unstoppable force. She had overcome the biggest threats and obstacles in the world, what could one person do? And the answer Makoto found was, anything. Everything. It doesn’t all rest on Makoto, he’s just the one that was inspired to try to do what seemed like the impossible. But as evidenced by the change in his friends after that trial, it’s clearly not something only Makoto is capable of. The others pulled out of despair thanks to Makoto, but it was their choice to do so.
“But… this world is so huge, and we’re so small. What can we do…? No, we can probably do anything. Yeah! We can do anything!”
#makoto naegi#Danganronpa character analysis#Danganronpa#danganronpa thh#danganronpa future arc#I fucking love Makoto Naegi man.#I think there’s a fine line of nuance to Makoto that’s easy to miss bc he doesn’t really make it known#he’s not a pushover and he’s not overpowered. he’s a people pleaser but he will say what needs to be said#he’s an immovable object and the exact opposite of Junko but he’s also just a normal guy who’s optimistic and (un)lucky#he isn’t invincible but he has immense power to his words the same way Junko did#if anything his superpower is being kind above all else. he’s compassionate to some of the worst people in the world.#he was even conpassionatr to an extent to Junko. he didnt want her to kill herself despite everything she’s done#and he still acknowledges that for years she was a classmate and friend.#I do think the more he learned abt what she did the more he’s come to actually hate her though#post the first game he always refers to her without a suffix to her name which is one of the most subtle rude things you can do#it means you have zero respect for the person you’re referring to#and he speaks about her with some venom he doesn’t use for anyone else in the future arc#he’s not incapable of feeling negative emotions#I really liked the future arc scene bc it showed that Makoto DID experience enough despair to have overcome him if he didn’t refuse#and that it still affects him deeply. people treat him like he’s either this perfect ideal Chad or this baby chick who’s so delicate#and no one really focuses on how makoto shoulders so much and yet is still vulnerable.#honestly that guy was DUE for a mental breakdown even without the tape. it would have happened eventually#I actually wrote one based on him finally hitting a breaking point after giving so much of himself away and keeping nothing for himself#that his issues that he shoves down constantly finally can’t be held down anymore. Hajime helps him bc he knows how that feels#it was a LONG time ago that I wrote that but honestly if I can remember where i was going w it I might finish it#it was initially an rp but I could make it a fic#anyway. the point is Makoto is SO much more complex than people give him credit for#the most fundamental thing about him is that he’s normal and that’s ok! that’s what helps him rise!

Bill being forced to say the truth is such a fun concept though. I imagine Ford's the most likely candidate to hit Bill with a truth spell. Now he can expose Bill's nature once and for all! And find out what secret evil plans the demon has involving his nephew. 😠
Only it completely backfires because Bill acts the exact same as he usually does? After all, Bill usually doesn't have a reason to lie to the Pines family. Will he omit the truth? Totally! But rarely does he outright lie.
(But anyway, the plan backfires and Stan and Mabel are not convinced. "Yeah Bill's a jerk but he's not actually harmful", they say, with no knowledge of the countless atrocities he's committed.)
So Bill continues to act like his usual asshole self, completely unaware that he's under the influence of a truth spell. Until he sees his husband do something smart/cute/whatever. Before Bill even realizes, he's saying the sappiest, most gooey sedimental shit any demon has ever heard. Like "You're perfect, I love you so much". Completely unfiltered thoughts. The stuff he even lies to himself about. "You make me so happy. I'm so glad I met you".
The best part is that the situation is even worse (for Bill) the angrier he gets. "I hate you" comes out as "I love you". "You're the worst thing that ever happened to me" comes out as "The best thing". At one point, he accidentally says you're lucky I love you when he meant to be threatening. Everything is terrible. Dippers trying to figure out a cure and Bill can't help because he's to busy throwing up his organs. All the sedimental bullshit is making him sick.
Tumblr media
#This much sincerity is terrible for a demon like Bill#It's like he's got a terrible cold as well as throwing up all the time as his organs rebel against the honesty#Bonus: Ford DID learn Bill's horrible plan for his nephew. Eventually#Except what Bill ended up saying was something like#'I'm going to keep him until the stars burn out of the sky and this entire galaxy crumbles into dust AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME'#He hissed it out while hugging Dipper to his chest so tight that he almost squashed the guy#Trust Ford to focus on the 'can't stop him' part and not the rest of that statement#Dipper absolutely caught the rest of the implication though#Dipper already knew he was in love himself but hearing all of this is just. So Much.#It's so so nice. Really nice! But also waaaaay overwhelming for him#Anxiety and overthinking go hand in hand. Stress from Ford being around and trying to fix Bill exacerbate it#He knows it's honest but it leaves him confused#What the hell did Dipper do to cause this? (deserve this)#Is there way to fix Bill?? (is he ever gonna change his mind)#He's happy and he's worried. Again he's overthinking#He's flustered and he fumbles and wow he *really* should cure this before they both die of embarrassment somehow#I bet these two assholes still find a way to miscommunicate during a bout of magically-induced honesty#But THIS time it's all on Dipper#SMH my guy he's your husband and he loves you#Too bad overthinking gets in the way of enjoyment.#Also Bill puking a lot. That puts a huge impediment in the way when Dipper can't find an outlet for his feelings#His FIRST impulse was to kiss Bill senseless but since he couldn't do that his brain got stuck in a loop of unexpressed emotion#What a shame; he probably wants to do it so very very much#answers#Once Bill is cured he's grumpy. Turns out he loves Dipper even *more* because his human doesn't want him to suffer just to hear ily#How Dare He love Bill back so purely. He's never going to escape for that sentiment

Would the human pets be capable of basic tasks like washing their clothes or preparing food? I can see some pets knowing how to prepare food as like, a fun little party trick to impress others, but as a basic survival skill I don't think it's commonly taught to humans anymore. There's most likely a line drawn between pets that are helpful and reliable, and pets that are too capable, to the point where certain owners may feel threatened by their level of intelligence and independence. I wonder just how helpless the humans would be without their aliens.

i’m curious to what tsumiki’s reaction to the whole zen’in drama was? did megs ever tell her what was happening to him or did he never say anything because he didn’t want to worry her?
does she know that megs told gojo what was happening and even then it still continued? both fushiguro siblings seem the type to prioritise each other over anything else in the world so i wouldn’t be surprised if she screamed at gojo for the first and probably last time when she found out and then promptly started to plan a run away route for her and her brother.
bc like, this man promised he would protect her and more importantly megumi from this super freaky cult family and then she finds out that not only have they been abusing her baby brother but that technically megumi told gojo and nothing ever changed. this whole incident must have played a really important turning point in their family dynamic with tsumiki getting even more protective over megs and putting a distance between her and the people taking care of them.
Hm. I’m actually gonna wait to answer how tsumiki reacted. We’re not going to find out about it in sea glass gardens but it’s heavily contextualized by details we do find about in sea glass gardens, so I’m going to come back to this when we pass that point of the story.
I will say that Tsumiki knows everything, because, for me, it’s an important character point on her that she’s legitimately in the loop. She’s not the non-magic sibling who is clueless of this world and most of her brother’s life—she legitimately is very deeply involved in the family’s wider interests and the family doesn’t hide things from her.
The only thing she’s not in the loop with is stuff hidden from her specifically, and it’s usually because it’s something that would have a really bad impact specific to her. There, I’m talking about when Gojo told the rest to not tell tsumiki that megumi had a seizure because he used up his cursed energy sending his dogs after her, because megumi would be pissed if anyone did.
If she’s being kept out of a loop, it’s usually megumi as the driving factor, and it’s because of something extreme as “So your brother did die in front of you as a direct result of him waking up in total delirium after you left him alone and trying to protect you to his direct and fatal detriment.” Gojo doesn’t think Tsumiki’s in a mindset where she could process that in a healthy way, he knows Megumi is not physically, mentally, or emotionally capable of finding out that someone told his sister that she fucking killed him and processing it in a healthy way, and it’s not actually something that affects any of them in the long term.
Megumi didn’t tell her about the Zenin’s abuse while it was happening. He only told Gojo, because Gojo was the only one he thought would be strong enough to stop it, and he would have kept it a secret forever if he didn’t need it to stop so badly. But she knows. And she knows Megumi told Gojo, and that Gojo fucked up and let it keep happening. I’ll come back and answer how she reacted after we find out a little bit more about Gojo and Tsumikis early relationship

No one understands the intricacies of Ozpin starting out as headmaster and huntsman and one of Ozma’s younger souls and lives as being extremely skinny and overworked, only to get not only fatter but happier and more relaxed as life goes on because he learns to rely on the people around him and trust in uncertainty and enjoy life’s little things while he still can before he can’t remember them at all like PLEASE UNDERSTAND THE INTRICACIES-
